Hi everyone, it’s Bisan from Gaza, I am still alive Alhamdullah.. it’s been 107 days of genocide, 15 weeks, 2568 hours of killing us, taking over our homes and lands in Gaza Strip, and forcing us to choose between leaving or death.. and sometimes we can’t even choose.. the Israeli air strikes simply kill us without any warnings. Now, we are without any connection, neither the internet nor the cellular, we can’t reach each other’s inside Gaza, we don’t know if our families and friends are alive or not, wounded or not.. still in their places or not! We take hours of walking and searching to reach someone, while moving became very risky! We can’t reach to you as well! The footage, information and news from Gaza are not reaching you as before because the Israeli army intentionally destroyers the signal towers and the servers, even using the E-SIM requires being in a high place which is very risky!. I borrowed this vest to upload this post! I am not scared of death, but of being displaced, scared of losing my family or friends, scared of being wounded and can’t have my treatment because the health system is collapsed in Gaza, and to die in pain! I am not scared of the destruction.. I lost my work place.. my home and my family work place and source of income, I am terrified of being killed by an occupier, and to be forgotten, one oppressed Bisan of a whole occupied people. The strongest governments and weapons manufacturers are supporting this genocide against my people, and you are our only hope! STRIKE globally and call for a ceasefire! Strike, protest, stop the economic movements and make pressure on your countries to stand against this and stop it, if ISRAhell don’t find the financial and weapons support, or governments to hide their crimes they will be forced to stop the genocide! Go to the streets, protest and Globally strike for a week, (21-28) January! YALLA Brave and free people of the world, CEASEFIRE NOW!

Finally figured out how to color my drawings digitally! I drew this piece more than a year ago, but I think it’s some of my best work. Might add to my Redbubble too!!

I’m a bit late but today is Alex Claremont-Diaz’s birthday and RWRB is one of my favorite books of all time so I thought I’d share this mediocre drawing I made of the best bi himself:

I have a book recommendation for all the aro-ace people out there: Loveless by Alice Oseman.
I’m sure many other people have given their thoughts on this book and its wonderful aro ace representation, but I thought I’d give mine too.
Loveless follows Georgia Warr as she navigates her first year of university, a tension-filled rivalry between two of her friends, and her own journey in self-discovery as she begins to realize she doesn’t feel romantic or sexual attraction.
That’s just a quick summary of the book, but I cannot stress enough how good it was! While I don’t have all the parts of my identity figured out, I do identify as aro-ace, and there were so many parts of this book that just made me feel seen. I think like many people, I’ve sometimes struggled with the fear that I’m not aro ace because I haven’t really done any of that stuff, so how do I know that’s how I really feel? But reading Loveless has helped because Georgia struggles with that too. Just seeing yourself reflected in the media you consume means so much, and this book definitely reduced me to happy tears.
I also really appreciated the emphasis on platonic relationships, and how they aren’t worth any less or involve less love than romantic or sexual ones. Like Georgia, I love my friends deeply, and I don’t think that type of love should be seen as “secondary”.
Loveless also has great characters, and I loved seeing more aro and ace representation in Sunil (love them!) and Jess. And of course, Pip and Rooney are amazing, and as a fanfic consumer their tension was A+. I could write so much more about this book, but I’ll leave it here:
In conclusion, I most definitely recommend Loveless by Alice Oseman, particularly for people in the aromantic and asexual communities. Thank you Alice for writing a wonderful book, and helping me feel seen!

a few things -
1. tomorrow w the election results, realize that many votes were mailed in and will be counted until the end of november (x). tomorrow will not have a definitive winner. it’ll be a projection. it seems that a lot of mail in ballots are democratic party votes, so keep your head up unless there’s some kind of massive landslide.
2. voter intimidation is real and i would expect it to be pretty bad at the polls tomorrow. if you experience or witness voter intimidation, please call 1-866-our-vote (1-866-687-8683) to report it. this number calls the national voter protection hotline and they can send federal investigators as well as local law enforcement to help. it’s a good practice to record any voter intimidation that you see at the polls and write your account and report it to local law enforcement, the ACLU, local news, etc. save this evidence in a place that you will not lose it and cc yourself on any emails you send to ensure you do not lose it too.
2a. if possible, vote with a friend or family member.
3. if you are uncertain about your voter status, have not gotten a response that your mail-in ballot has been processed, or if you are booted from the polling line for xyz reasons, please make sure you grab a provisional ballot. idaho, minnesota, and new hampshire unfortunately do not do provisional ballots, but all other 47 states do. as per the linked website, it is a federal law in these states to give voters provisional ballots. quote, “If an individual declares that such individual is a registered voter in the jurisdiction in which the individual desires to vote and that the individual is eligible to vote in an election for Federal office, but the name of the individual does not appear on the official list of eligible voters for the polling place or an election official asserts that the individual is not eligible to vote, such individual shall be permitted to cast a provisional ballot….” if your state gives them and you cannot vote regularly, get one of these!
4. if you live in a large city and expect lines, make sure you dress for the weather and bring a snack or two!
5. some states will allow you to declare an emergency ballot if you are sick on election day. if you’re feeling under the weather, check if your state will allow you to have one.
6. here are the tips the CDC has for voting during the pandemic so that you can protect yourself at the polls.
7. TIME magazine has a really great q&a article for other questions you may have tomorrow!
8. please take care of yourself. avoid social media and the news if you need too. hang out with people in your bubble and try to do something to distract yourself if you’re worried about the results!
i hope some of these links have helped and please feel free to share.

The joy of watching queer representation in children's cartoon go from subtext to maintext and be inclusive of poc, is something that can't be expressed through words.
