W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
He loves to be praised. If you praise him, he'd probably cum right there.

Matter of minutes. He'll pull out of you snuggle up and fall asleep.

The 'Great' MHA Read Along, Part Three (Chapters 8-11): "Support" Gear and Dodging Death.
Well. You asked for this, so I deliver; upon your head be it.
So. We start off with talking about costumes... actually pretty interesting, though, with companies doing these costumes, I'm kind of surprised there's not brand names on them; All Might, Brought To You By Sony, or something. I guess that was a level of realism Hori wasn't prepared to deal with.... (Note Bakugou's costume comments; 'kill with my knees'?) but then we get to Izuku. And I can't help but feel jipped by this, in a couple of ways. Izuku ends up looking... well, like his mom made his costume, a sore, underdressed thumb compared to all the professionally dressed heroes... and he's also the only one whose face is entirely covered for some reason?
On the other hand, though, it is a nice touching scene, the family reconnecting, Inko admitting her mistakes and that she'll support Izuku.... but couldn't it have been done differently? As is, it feels like Inko is being used as a blatant emotional tool to make Izuku different, and that's rough since her character is barely existent in the first place, and quickly fades away into oblivion as time passes. In the same way that Izuku is the only one who can't actually use his Quirk, the same way he's the only one who is so completely unprepared for UA, he's now the only one who who doesn't actually have a proper costume.
I mean, I get it; on one hand, it's symbolic, and the way he eventually updates it shows his evolution as a hero. But at the same time, I've already made it clear what I think of Izuku starting off so behind, so I don't actually like that symbolism, and even if I was, the narrative feels like it's going a little too hard on the 'he doesn't belong' thing at this point. First time around, I was fine with how Izuku was, and even now my dislike of the starting situation is more on a meta scale than anything, despite the bad logic behind it, because it's written in so engagingly, but I never once liked the costume thing.
There's also the question of why she's OK with Izuku going to UA with either, A, no Quirk that she knows of, or B, a Quirk he just... randomly got, somehow, while applying? When, according to a literal doctor (Dr. Diabolus Ex Machina himself; is the fact that AFO's most loyal minion apparently was Izuku's doctor going to be relevent at some point or...?), that was never going to happen? Ever?
There's... there's a lot of questions she should be asking, here, and as far as we can tell, that just never happens. This whole dynamic here, there was all sorts of room to play with it, expand it, develop Inko as a character and Izuku's background more (and look at the fact that she found out her son was Quirkless and... got fat? Because she handled that guilt badly? The way they talk is like they never talked about Inko saying he couldn't be a hero until just then. Did they... did they really just never ever talk about this again until just now? The more you think about all, the more things don't make sense) and Hori didn't just drop the ball with this, he spiked it into the ground rather than use it.
I'm... sort of grudgingly OK with All Might being a not great teacher here, but not really. I mean, it's still in line with how his brain got ripped out of his head after Arc One, which at this point is something I have a well established history of being... not well pleased about, but it'd track that he wouldn't know how to train students in basic heroism, unlike exercising....
But that leads back to the question of, 'Then why is he a teacher if he can't teach?' Him doing something he explicitly has no idea how to do makes no sense. It's super double dumb though since, again, this is All Might's precious powered-time, and he's using it to... not just to teach kids when he could be saving lives, but teach kids badly, and again, that's stupid, and everyone involved, including Nezu, Super Genius, should realize this.
God, he's so badly shoe-horned into all this I'm actually wondering if he was supposed to die in Arc One and pass on his Quirk to Izuku that way, and him being in at all is Hori changing that plan at the last minute.
So, before I start on Bakugou vs Izuku... let's pause it here so I can go on a tangent: Bakugou's support gear.
There's several problems with it as an in-setting item, all focused around a simple fact: they're not there for 'support', they're weapons. Fundamentally, Bakugou's Gauntlets are just... giant explosive cannons, just like the literal grenades he gets, or the edgy machine guns in late story. No other hero's support gear we see are like that, pure weapons based only around harming others (I remember later, a Random Civilian gets his hand on support gear, I think from Detnerat gear, and that's a weapon, but A, that's from Detnerat, and so made to bring society to its knees, literally, and two, the entire point of that little scene was to show how stupid and helpless civilians are, and how they should dare get above themselves and try to defend themselves (which is clearly set up to support sheep narrative of civilians Hri loves to pull, while also making it make less sense since, if civilians doing anything backfires that badly, then yeah, maybe they're right to do literally nothing so they can't fuck it up) and so I am far from giving it the benefit of the doubt.)
I know later, Bakugou take one off and Izuku uses it, and so they're just... literally giant explosive guns, literally just a pair of guns he has strapped to his arms. Everyone else has gear that supports their Quirks, even Snipe with his actual gun (which enhances his Quirk, which is dependant on a projectile), while Bakugou alone has something that replaces it.
Thematically, that's weird and has bad vibes. On a more practical level, someone, somewhere, must have approved this thing, looked at this design with the more or less literal description of 'giant bomb', and said, 'Yeah, this is OK, let's do it'. This basiclly has no purpose other than to kill people or to cause massive property damage; there's no... safe mode, no limiting, it's just point and FIRE EVERYTHING!!! Why? Why did they just hand it to him? (And, as a side note, how was it full enough to use when Bakugou had just got it? There's no way he sweat enough to fill that thing; otherwise he would have collapsed from dehydration.)
So. Yeah. I have problems with that. And now the fight, and I find this fact distinctive:
Bakugou starts off this fight by proclaiming he's going to use this to beat up Izuku. I'm going to be honest here; if I was a teacher? I would absolutely respond to that, somehow, even if it's simple as, 'Bakugou, no, also now I'm watching you'. It's not exactly a reach to call that an obvious red flag.
(Side note; 'Rage You Damn Nerd' or 'Ferocity of a Fucking Nerd'? Really? What the hell is this chapter title.)
Flashback: Bakugou, as a kid, saying to murder those villains. God, really? Was nobody ever concerned about that?
And then Izuku counters Bakugou, and he just... loses it. Completely. Because of course; how dare Izuku fight back! How dare he resist Bakugou's righteous anger?!
And yet another reminder of the cringy fact that Bakugou was first place, despite the fact it's against his narrative set up of being the little fish, just because of how much Hori hypes him up.
Bakugou: I've been torturing you for all these years, and you've been sitting back and taking it. Clearly, you've been hiding your Quirk all this time, just so you could laugh at me!
Me: ????
Holy fuck, the ego on that comment. I've heard about 'everything being about you', but this is nuts.
Izuku builds up courage to face his fears/bully, and meanwhile Bakugou flashes back to how useless everyone else is, and how great he is, and how dare Izuku stand up to him, when he gave him the perfect name to describe how worthless he is? How dare he try to rescue him that one time when they were kids?! How dare he have concern?!?!?!
*leans back in chair*
Hoolyyy fuck, Bakugou, that is a lot of clusterfuck in such a small, three page sequence.
'Ah, Iida. What a wholesome palate cleanser', I think, more or less in lockstep with Uraraka. I love how his big plan is literally cleaning; I mean, I get the logic, but still.
Alas. All good things end.
So, for a lot of people, the big, defining moment of Bakugou's story and how bad they think he is is Chapter One and the suicide baiting. That's obviously shit, but to me, this is the big moment, the, if you pardon the drama (I can't think of a way to phrase it better), the 'original sin' of MHA as a whole: Bakugou tries to kill someone, and absolutely nothing happens.
This isn't an exaggeration, BTW; let me lay out the scene here:
Bakugou is armed with, as I said before, an insanely aggressive weapon, one that has no purpose other than to kill people or destroy things. He is given this weapon with, apparently, absolutely no comments about being careful with it, not to harm someone with it, or anything, and then takes it into an exercise with his classmates.
This exercise takes place in a building, one that can easily be damaged by the blast of that thing. As this is a multi-story building, even a blast not aimed at someone could easily get someone killed if part of the building collapses on top of them.
Bakugou takes this weapon, and he aims it at a human being. To top it off, All Might, who by all means should be an authority in, 'Yeah, this could definitely kill someone', explicitly tells him that, 'No, you'll kill him!' before he fires.
Bakugou's response? 'He'll be fine if he dodges!"
And then he fires.
And the fact that, not only does this happen at all, but this fight continues afterwords, is inexcusable. Blatantly, obviously, inexcusable. This is, unironically, Bakugou attempting to kill someone.
On tape, no less!
I mean, hell, with this one chapter, we have the means (the gauntlet), the motive (Izuku's... existence? The fact that he dares to stand against Bakugou?), and the opportunity (this entire exercise), along with witnesses watching him do it in real time. If this had hit Izuku, the trial against Bakugou would have been a cakewalk.
And the thing is? Everything before this, everything, is something that could be excused. Granted, it would strain the suspension of belief to the breaking point at times, but everyone could be that stupid and/or that biased, in theory.
But this? There is absolutely no way that this could happen, and be acceptable in the logic of this story. I don't care if All Might is literally missing his brain, I don't care if Aizawa just.... hates Izuku with a deep and unexplainable loathing (BTW, I think I forgot to mention last time that Aizawa sabotaged Izuku's scores? Well, considering how Izuku with his super toss was in a contest against a girl that only is invisible, there's no way he was in last place, so... yeah. Aizawa sabotaged him). Forget their heroic instincts, forget all of that; if they let this happen, everyone involved with this would have their lives destroyed. They can't cover it up, because at some point, Inko is really going to wonder, 'Hey, where is my kid at?' and the second she asks that everything crumbles.
That, and why would they try to cover it up? Bakugou's character is, in many ways, the cliche of the sports star from a small school, who the entire school, if not the town, bends over backwards to keep him in that position (which, ironically, never would have helped Aldera that much, because Bakugou, as is, would never give them credit, respect, or money. Bakugou, if he improved enough to give them that? Would give them shit for what they let him do instead. That plan was doomed from the start). The thing is? That tolerance only goes so far; sure, he can bully the nerd all day long, and hell, he can beat him half-to-literal-death if there's no one there of importance to serve as witness, but this? This isn't just attacking the nerd. This is chasing him in a car. And, when the nerd escapes into the school? The jock then drives into the school, and only stops when the car itself gets jammed in a wall.
There's a point, in other words, where all that tolerance ends. This is waay past that point.
That, and the fact that UA isn't a small school, with a sports department propped up by their one good athlete; UA is the school that athlete wants to go to. To UA, Bakugou the metaphorical athlete is completely replaceable; how many students were trying to get in again?
And all of that? All of that is assuming that every single one of them is, in fact, the absolute worse, trash, shallow self-serving shit versions of them possible, instead of being heroes, in a school for heroes, for whom there should be standards all over the place.
So the fact that he fires this shot, and that the flash-stepping All Might doesn't just bitch slap him out of it beforehand, or at least make it clear if he does his heroic life is over, and then afterwards he allows this fight to continue, and then after that, there's barely even a harsh word said in response to this, by anyone, much less any sort of consequences for it, school based or otherwise, shatters my SOD into dust.
The logic and foundation of this setting can not support this sequence of events. So... why? Why did this happen? Why was this allowed to happen?
Bakugou. The completely irrational, completely assholish Bakugou, who would do this, because this falls in line with his behavior from what we've seen of him thus far... if he was held to account for this? Given consequences, realistic consequences, for his realistically horrific behavior? He'd be gone, at least. Out of UA, out of Izuku's life (if only), and out of the story.
But... for whatever reason, even before all the polls came in (I think), Hori just wanted Bakugou to stay in the story. Why? Maybe there was a more proper redemption arc in the works. Maybe it was always going to be like it was now. Maybe Hori just likes Bakugou. Who knows?
The point is Bakugou, The Living Idiot Ball, is born into the story at this moment, a character who makes everyone around him their impossibly worse selves. His behavior will improve, somewhat, but the behavior of those around him won't.
Well, thankfully, the building doesn't collapse on all of them after that (thought maybe it should have? I'm not an expert, but that is a big hole there)... and here's something else that bothers me.
I can't understand All Might's motivation here for not stopping the match, as in I'm looking at his stated motivation for that, and it doesn't make sense.
In his head, he's talking about this will fuel Izuku's growth, basiclly. And, maybe it does, but that's not the problem here. The problem is Izuku could die, and is getting some serious injuries as Bakugou beats the living shit out of him; it's not worth all of that for some extra growth now, when he still has his entire school life to improve. And sure, we know that, in a meta sense, this is A, prep for the villains soon to show up, and that, B, Izuku does not, in fact, have his entire school life to get better. But All Might doesn't know that; All Might doesn't have any reason to think AFO is still alive, much less masterminding an attack. So... why the rush?
Before, he was rushing Izuku's training, but there was a concrete reason: Izuku needed to get into U.A. Well... mission accomplished; he's in. So why the push?
To give a somewhat in character reason, I guess, to try and excuse Bakugou, The Living Idiot Ball.
Meanwhile, all the characters can't stop talking up about how great a fighter Bakugou is, because it's not enough to excuse him from a murder attempt, apparently everyone needs to make sure the audience knows about how much of a 'beast' Bakugou is!
And, all of this, while Bakugou has this crazed sounding rant about how Izuku is 'looking down' on him, when until five seconds ago he thought he was beneath your boot. Even while they're fighting, Izuku can't help but talk up the person who single handedly ruined his entire life.
*sighs for forever*
Anyways, Izuku barely claims a win with teamwork, determination, and the magically ability to remember what his objective is!
(cue funny little omake where Mt Lady breaks her office with puns)
And... the last chapter of this arc: 'Bakugou's Starting Line'. Ugh.
Anyways, Bakugou beats Izuku half to death, but he loses. He loses, and has a mental break down because of that, and All Might is remarkably fine with this whole situation.
Then, Momo proves that she's smart and on top of things (enjoy that while it lasts), the other fights happen, which... brutally honest, I can't care much about, beyond Todoroki proving that, suprise suprise, he's actually the big fish in the 1A lake (enjoy that while it lasts as well! The nerfs are coming for everyone not named Bakugou or Izuku), which is yet more mental damage on Bakugou's oh so sensitive ego.
Izuku, unsurprisingly, ends up needing to be put back together after all that, and Recovery Girl has a rare positive portrayal where she says that Izuku getting beat to hell and back is, in fact, bad, which All Might agrees with like a sheepish child rather than an adult who has carried massive responsibilities for years now and who, need I remind you all, was not too long ago competent and did in fact avoid letting Izuku be permanently harmed... you know, the good old days.
Anyways, everyone is impressed by Izuku, cool, cool, and then... Izuku shits on it by telling Bakugou, 'This isn't my Quirk!', thus locking in his participation in late story stuff forever.
And again... why? Why does he feel responsible for this? Why does he need to make sure he's not... accidently, tricking Bakugou by letting him be an idiot and think he was just... holding back his entire life, and instead all but blows a secret of nigh incalculable value. To his bully. Because his bully felt bad.
*resists the urge to scream into my desk*
And, for a second time this sequence... why? Why would he do that? Why is he simping so damn hard for him?
*spreads hands*
Bakugou, The Living Idiot Ball, whom proximity to drives idiotic and irrational behavior into all.
And then Bakugou has tears in his eyes as he realizes he's not the top dog, and we're apparently supposed to feel sorry for him, and then All Might shows up, burning more of his precious time to talk to Bakugou, not long after his murder attempt, and rather than trying to... chastise him or anything, he rushes to tell Bakugou to cheer up!
I don't know about you, but if I could only give Bakugou one piece of advice, it would definitely be, 'protect your ego!'
Then Izuku affirms to the audience that Bakugou is still the standard he's chasing after, just in case we didn't get the message that Bakugou is the best, because Hori wants to make that very clear in our minds.
Finally: villians. ...Why is the mindless Nomu in the bar?

I saw your earlier post about live action Azula and a few thoughts came to mind.
I know a lot of people are (rightfully)worried about the live action. I understand that they have cause to be wary.
As for me, I’m just hoping we get to see Azula kick the Zuko’s + the Gaangs (including Aang and Katara) collective asses! She got jipped quite a few times in the Og show regarding PIS and her mental breakdown.
And who knows? Maybe Netflix will make big changes and we’ll get to see an Azula redemption.
They also have an opportunity for epic trolling by having either Azulaang become canon (in the netverse anyway) Or having Katara fall for Zuko’s little sister instead of him. If nothing else, it would be good for a laugh.
I doubt any of these things will happen. But a person can dream, no?
In a similar vein to myself, do you have anything you wish to see in regards to Azula’s character?
How do you think Azula will be handled on Netflix?
Thank you for the ask anon.
I think one of my biggest fears is that they're going to play up her insanity and her breakdown. Unfortunately, her entire character has been colored by that breakdown both by the fandom and the franchise. Almost all of her post-canon work focuses on her mental instability to the point she's portrayed as a rabid animal in that awful Legacy of Fire book. Sure, we've had some more nuanced portrayals of her in recent years (Azula in the Spirit Temple comes to mind), but that's over a decade of her being portrayed at her worst moment.
And that's not even getting into how she's been demoted into little more than a glorified punching bag for Zuko and the Gaang in the Yang Comics.
So, yeah. I'm right with you about being apprehensive about Netflix's portrayal. If the creators can't get what made her character special, I don't exactly have confidence in a company who's had a pretty spotty track record when it comes to live-action adaptations (One Piece being the exception from what I've heard).
The other thing I'm a bit concerned about is...well, I don't think they're going for a redemption. With how modern media is like, I doubt they're going to stray too far away from the original series. Especially with Azula since her breakdown is iconic for all the wrong reasons. I mean, I'd like to hope for a redemption, but considering how Bryke and almost all the creative team keeps shying away from the possibility, I sincerely doubt Netflix is going to do better. Kind of frustrating when they've been leaving us up in the air for years at this point.
Now for what I'm hoping...I want Azula to get more sympathy. Basically, bust as many bad faith interpretations as possible. Don't tie in her story so closely to Zuko. Let her be a badass. And maybe leave her story on a positive note unlike the series. She seems to be getting a bit more focus, so I'm hopeful this might be true. Though it's all up to the writing team at this point.
I'll be honest, it's going to take a lot to convince me they have a handle on Azula's character. I mean, all respect for her actress and I'll be rooting for her. It's just...well, like I said in my previous post, over a decade of toxicity towards Azula and wishing the worst for her with creators that keep feeding that attitude has left me a little estranged. A part of me is hopeful, but until I see otherwise, I'm going to be skeptical.
Feel free to leave your thoughts.

Tudum happened yesterday and we didn’t get nearly what I expected to get. And I honestly was incredibly disappointed because I had such high expectations. I feel like Netflix just messes with us all the time. However…
I’m going to relish in what they did give us. Mama Nic knows what we all need and I know she was dropping hints and all kinds of things yesterday. Everybody see the non spoiler spoiler of “Luke and I broke a piece of furniture”? Too good.
There were also non confirmed rumors and things floating around that I suppose are worth mentioning and I don’t know if we believe them or not even though most leaks end up being correct where Netflix is concerned:
1. Potential 12/14/23 release date. Netflix Portugal posted the first stills of season 3 along with this date which was quickly deleted. They have done this before so…if it ends up being 12/14 we have to find ways to entertain ourselves for the next 5-6 months.
2. Potential 10 episodes? There was an article floating around with captions of which episodes they were from. The one picture said it was from episode 10. After checking IMDb it is still slated for 8 episodes and I honestly don’t think they have strayed from this. I’d love to have 10 episodes but I really think it ended up being a typo. The article was also edited and the caption now reads “in an episode” instead of “in episode 10”
Now onto my thoughts/analysis of the pictures.
1. They both look stunning. And I was so happy that out of the pictures we got they’re all just of them which I think really means they’re hyping up this romance. There weren’t pictures of like Portia or other minor/major characters and I would have felt incredibly jipped if they had gone that way.
2. Not necessarily about the stills but Nicola invited us along in the carriage ride and my little Polin heart almost exploded. We are definitely getting the carriage scene. I’m living for it. There was no mention of mirrors but she did also mention fans of the books know what she’s talking about and what we’re in for so…I’d say mirrors are going to be big in season 3.
3. The first picture and the last picture show Pen in the same dress. The news article reported this as being from episode 2 so…if we already get a kiss in episode 2 I may 🪦 on the spot.
4. I’m thinking these stills are all from episodes early on in the season. The picture of Colin solo we know will be from episode 1 as he’s returning from abroad. The only one I’m not sure about is the one where they’re smirking at each other. I’d love to think that maybe this is them post marriage but I don’t think it is. Time will tell. I’m wondering if this is more of a day party (maybe with an eclaire?!?!) I’d love it.
Here are the pictures:

What do you mean your latest chapter has more words than my bachelor’s thesis?! (Also, were we not at a point once where…4k words was considered a long chapter????)
'googles how long a bachelor's thesis is'
Oh geeze that's not that long at all. For some reason I thought they were a lot longer. (I never had to do one) (also I don't formally have a degree because I never did my capstone, I completed all the coursework and it's just easier to call it my English degree instead of constantly saying "I've finished 99% of an English degree but couldn't get a single professor to read my manuscript and then covid hit and I gave up.") (also there was no fucking point in pursuing it you can't do fucking anything with an English degree)
I think at the beginning I was writing like 5-6k chapters? Which is the length of the chapters I wrote in high school. Which felt very weird. And let's be fair, there were way fewer moving parts in Book 1 than there are now.
I'm not trying to make chapters long or short. I group scenes together based on the information revealed and the emotional impact I want it to have. The final chapter of doth was less than 3000 words. My only worry would ever be making readers feel jipped, but usually I have reasons why those chapters are short.

An American Girl Christmas 2023
(Finally getting around to posting my photos from Christmas, only a few days late!)
Tumblr media
The first Christmas surprise, at least for Makena and Evette, came before opening a single gift. As everyone filed into the main room, Jip took off ahead, barking excitedly. When they followed, the girls saw why. Maritza was kneeling by Jip, patting him. “MARITZA!” they cried in unison. She leapt to her feet with a grin. “KAY! EVIE! Hi!!”
Tumblr media
The reunited friends piled into one big group hug while Jip jumped all over them, wagging his stubby tail furiously.
Tumblr media
Once the girls had calmed down, it was time to look inside everyone’s stockings! (Evette, who celebrates Yule and thus doesn’t have a stocking,* sat down to catch up with Maritza, who of course doesn’t have a stocking yet.)
*Evie knows that, like most Christmas traditions, hanging stockings has pagan roots, but she also feels that nowadays it’s mostly associated with Christmas.
Tumblr media
(A better look at what everyone found in their stockings)
Tumblr media
Time for presents! Just look at all those pretty packages!
Tumblr media
Samantha went first. She found a lovely winter hat with a silver bow and a card tucked into the band. “To: Samantha, From: St. Nicholas,” it read.
Tumblr media
Samantha went first. She found a lovely winter hat with a silver bow and a card tucked into the band. “To: Samantha, From: St. Nicholas,” it read.
Tumblr media
Inside, she found a gorgeous winter coat of a deep blue velveteen that matched the hat band, trimmed with white fur, as well as a pair of black mittens. She put everything on to model it. “Oh! It’s beautiful!” she gasped. “And it will be just perfect for playing in the snow… these mittens will be much better for making snowballs than my fur muff!”
Tumblr media
Next it was Nellie’s turn. “Ooh, I got a big one too!” she cried in surprise, sitting down to open it. (She tried to open the wrapping paper carefully so she could save it — no matter how financially stable she was now, part of her would always remember growing up poor — but Marley convinced her that wasn’t necessary. She felt rather guilty ripping the pretty paper, but she had to admit it was kind of fun.)
Tumblr media
“Look, Sam! I got a hat, too!” Nellie looked through the rest of the box’s contents. “And mittens, and a coat, and a little cape! Oh, wow!”
Tumblr media
Nellie put on her own new coat set, and the two girls grinned at each other. “Now all we need is snow!”
“That might take a while,” Marley cautioned (it was an unseasonably warm and rainy Christmas Day, with temperatures in the 50s).*
*I spoke too soon, though! It snowed here yesterday… unfortunately, it was a mixture of snow and rain, definitely not good for doll photos.
Tumblr media
Virginia was next. She found a smallish, gold-wrapped package addressed to her. “I think it’s a book!” she said, feeling its weight through the foil.
Tumblr media
She was right! “The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle,” she read the ornate gilt lettering on the leather-bound cover, then paged through the inside. “Oh! This is the Holmes Christmas story! I can’t wait to read it!” (She also promised Samantha, who is another big Sherlock Holmes fan, that she could borrow it once she was finished.)
Tumblr media
Josefina had a small box wrapped in red and gold paper. The wrapping bulged awkwardly in places, as if the object within were irregularly shaped, and when she picked it up, it rattled like there were a number of smaller objects inside. The rattle and the heft of the box felt somehow familiar…
Tumblr media
Josefina gave a low gasp as she removed the paper to reveal her beloved memory box, filled with mementos: her late mother’s silver thimble, a square of the lavender-scented soap she’d always used, and a swallow feather and turquoise nugget that reminded Josefina of her; a rattlesnake rattle from her father’s childhood; and the heart-shaped milagro Tía Magdalena had given her during a trying time, to remind her not to lose hope in her heart’s desire. She held the box wordlessly with shining eyes, afraid if she were to try and speak she’d simply dissolve into happy tears.
Tumblr media
Makena’s present was simply but prettily packaged in a small pink gift bag. “Ooh, I wonder what this is?”
Tumblr media
It ended up being a long golden necklace. Delicate butterflies dangled from the chain on slender strands of gold, seeming to flutter and dance with every little movement. “Oh! I know exactly what outfit to pair this with!”
Tumblr media
Finally, it was Evette’s turn. Hers was a lumpy package wrapped in paper as green as her dress, with a design of fir branches and snowy pinecones, topped with a silver bow.
Tumblr media
She unwrapped it to reveal a white lacy shirt. “Oh, it’s so pretty!” she said, holding it up to show everyone. “I can’t wait to try it on!”*
*She did, in fact, try it on before changing for Kwanzaa, and it looked amazing on her, but I didn’t get a picture. 😕
Tumblr media
The girls returned to the main room, chattering and showing each other their new gifts… just in time to save their Christmas Dinner from a certain curious dog! “Jip, NO!” several girls cried in unison while Sam dragged him away by his collar, his wet nose sniffing furiously at the scent of roasted turkey.
✨🎄 Happy Dollidays! 🎄✨

Yippee, Susie Headcanon time! This isn't even close to all of the HCs I have for her, just like with the other three, but some of em are like super specific or are Joey/Susie related (which I'm saving for later teehee), but this'll have to do! As per usual, this is my interpretation of her character, blah blah blah, whatever, let's get to em <3
• AuDHD REAL (y’all should expect this by now)
• Has a special interest in plushies/stuffed animals and the 80s/90s My Little Pony shows/toys
• Is really quiet and shy when you first meet her, but once she grows to like and trust you, her personality shines a lot more! She’s a lot more talkative, bubbly, and loves to mess around with you!
• It takes her a while to warm up to people, though, and often finds it hard to trust others unless Julie or Joey are already friends with the person
• Looks up to Julie big time, who’s always been her cool, older role model
• She’s a BITER lmfao, it's her main way of showing affection as off putting as it can be for some people. It’s also a great way for her to get people to back off, since who tf wants to get bit. Tries not to do it as much since she got her braces, but sometimes she just can’t help herself
• Will hide her hands in her hoodie sleeves and whack the hell out of people
• Was really insecure about her braces at first, and got teased about them quite a bit at school. She still gets insecure about em every once in a while, but Julie, Joey, and Frank all make her feel a lot better about having them, so she tries to have fun with them by choosing fun colors every time she gets her bands replaced
• Has an extensive plushie collection! Her favorites consist of a lil black n white cat, a seal, and a worn out teddy bear
• Also has a collection of MLP merch, most of which were gifts from Julie
• Rarely ever seen without a hoodie or some sort of jacket on, both out of comfort and cause she gets cold very easily
• Her room is covered in random art supplies just laying about, and her desk is stained with a shit ton of paint
• Rarely ever stood up for herself when she got bullied, she just had a really hard time with this, so most of the time Julie or Joey would come help her out. Being a part of The Legion helped her gain a bit more confidence outside the mask, however, so she started standing up for herself more often
• Has the most energy of the group, and is practically always bouncing in her seat wanting to do something, whether it's just talking to her friends or going out and actually doing something
• Despite all her energy, though, she will CRASH at the end of the night, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to wake her up until morning, as she’s a very heavy sleeper and will sleep through just about anything
• Owns a lot of clothes with cats on em :3c She just really loves cats
• She’s a nail biter, so Julie started painting Susie’s nails so that she’d stop biting them as much
• Heavily dislikes the holidays, since they tended to feel super lonely and depressing for her growing up. She just felt like she got jipped for most of them, and got pretty jealous seeing how happy other people compared to her.
   • Struggles a lot in school, so she tends to get Julie’s and Joey’s help a lot, and sometimes they’ll have little study sessions just to help her out. She excels in her art and English classes though
• She knows a little bit of French! She’s not at ALL fluent, but she can read, speak, and understand some here and there
• Either has to work in dead silence or with her favorite music on, there is no in-between
   • Whenever she’s not at school or out n about with her friends, she loves to spend time alone in her room working on her art
   • Has a little diary that she writes EVERYTHING down in, including some of the most insignificant details about her day. Nobody’s allowed to look inside it, not even Julie. She made the mistake of bringing it to school once, and just barely managed to grab it back from some girl who snatched it from her before the girl got to read any of it
 • Hates coffee with the PASSION, she thinks it's absolutely disgusting. She’s not a big fan of tea, either, but she does enjoy milk tea
• She enjoys reading, and has a few books that she loves to reread over and over again
• Loves to bug her friends a lot, and will find little things to do that’ll annoy them without making them upset at her
• She tries REALLY hard to fit in, especially within The Legion, and wants to prove to her friends how cool she actually is. Of course, the other three already love her dearly, but sometimes she doubts herself and thinks she has to try harder despite not even needing to try at all in the first place
• After finding out that Julie liked Frank, she bugged Joey to get him to tell her if Frank liked Julie back. After getting this confirmation, Susie annoyed the HELL out of Frank nonstop about this, and always called him out whenever she caught him staring at Julie or somethin, much to Frank’s annoyance
• She was the one who made the friendship bracelets for the group, and she was SOOOO excited to give them to everyone, since she spent quite some time making them

I'm feeling jipped here. I saw all the amazing graphics and social media posts, family trees, gifs, references, casting, and whatever else you made for your clexa fic. Where is the gorgeous Kate and Yelena content for your million AUs. Give us moodboards, give us what the kids and the OCs look like, give us references for their houses, give us anything!
listen...........CFAU was ONE thing. there are literally 11 (!!! - yes, i counted tonight) ongoing kate x yelena aus right now. but just so you don't say i never gave you anythingggggg here is the laziest-done-in-literal-five-minutes references of k + y for like...FIVE of them lol. i didnt even bother with any of the period aus because im just not going to find references for all of them. i could definitely do victorian, royal, and maybe viking, but no way in hell am i going to find anything for gladiator, versailles, or black plague. i also didnt do the kids or any of the supporting characters because...again...five minutes and there's truly like a dozen kids in this handful of aus alone. if you bug me about it enough i might get around to it.

Ramblings: Tom Holland's career
I'm going to do a couple of other posts about Insomniac's Spider-Man 2, I played it the week it came out and I've just been watching clips and videos and I loved it. But anyway, this is about Tom Holland.
So, I've been of the opinion that while Tom is a fantastic actor, he keeps choosing projects (or his agent is) that he's either too good for, or the writing for them is less than stellar.
So here is a list of his films that I've seen. I haven't seen The Crowded Room but I heard it wasn't good but that Tom was good in it, which isn't surprising, story of his life I think.
The Impossible Lucas Bennett - First live action film, he's fantastic in this, should have been nominated. Made me cry.
How I Live Now Isaac - Weird little movie but he's good in it. Also made me tear up.
In the Heart of the Sea Thomas Nickerson - I forget about this one but he's fine it, the movie is fine.
Captain America: Civil War Peter Parker / Spider-Man - His Spider-Man debut and though he has a small part, he's great. Great debut.
The Lost City of Z Jack Fawcett - He plays the older version of the son and it's sad what's implied that happens to them but he's fine in this. His little mustache though had me cackling.
Pilgrimage The Novice / Brother Diarmuid - This movie is interesting and good and he's very good in it. Apparently while filming this, he and Jon Bernthal were sending in their tapes for Spider-Man and The Punisher lol.
Spider-Man: Homecoming Peter Parker / Spider-Man - Great solo film, felt like a John Hughes movie wrapped in comic book pajamas. I really love his suit, I guess we call it the "Stark Suit" since in the games, that's what it's called.
The Current War Samuel Insull - I don't remember him in this movie at all.
Avengers: Infinity War - Loved him in this, still wish he got to interact with Steve more than he did. I don't like the Iron Spider suit that much, but his scene with the snap was great, they knew who they had and capitalized on it.
Avengers: Endgame - Not in this one as much as IW, but I liked the scene where he has the gauntlet and he says "Hi, I'm Peter Parker" and Carol is like "Hey Peter Parker..."
Spider-Man: Far From Home - I feel like people are really hard on this movie, I love it. It was my fave Spidey movie for a while. I really loved the whole Mysterio thing. There are some things I might have wanted done differently but I overall loved it. I also love his Upgraded Suit and I liked how he used his intelligence to fight at the end.
Spies in Disguise Walter Beckett - I thought this was cute, it was fun and he does a great job with voice acting.
Dolittle Jip - the movie was not good and his role is small, but the voice acting was fine.
Onward Ian Lightfoot - Cute movie, made me tear up, the voice acting was really good. Love the brother relationship in this.
The Devil All the Time Arvin Russell - This should have been a mini series but he's good in it.
Cherry Cherry - Not a good movie but he's fine. He does despair very well lol.
Chaos Walking Todd Hewitt - Not a good movie, lots of potential, might have worked better as a tv series since it's a book series. Also, should have been made in the boom of YA dystopian movies or maybe now thanks to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes coming out. But he's fine it.
Spider-Man: No Way Home - Great movie, really fun, the emotional aspects of this movie he does so well. Yes it sucks that none of the villains in this movie are HIS villains but it just goes to show that he needs to have his own Green Goblin, can you imagine the PTSD that would come from that?
Uncharted Nathan Drake - I actually very much like this movie, I watch it often on Netflix lol. It's probably a movie I've put on repeat. It's not great but it's not as bad as people were saying. I've only played maybe 2 hours of the first game so I'm not nostalgic lol. I think he's good in it, and it's the first time I looked at him and was like "oh... he's an adult" and was attracted to him lol. I think he's handsome but he always just skewed young to me but after this, I was like... oh that's a man.
A lot of his career is Spider-Man and maybe he doesn't like that anymore, maybe he feels like he's being stuck since his Non Spider-Man movies haven't been well received, but I don't think that's the case. I feel like he isn't stuck, he just needs to take this break he said he wanted to take, and reevaluate his choices.
And when he's ready, he needs to be in a Romantic Comedy (Rom-Com), like a pure Rom-Com. Also, let him keep his own accent, I know this man is British lol but I haven't seen him use his own accent in a movie in a while. He can be a college student, or a young adult just trying to find love. Put him and Zendaya in a rom-com together, capitalize more on their chemistry lol. But not really, I'm just kidding, I just couldn't think of anyone but Saoirse Ronan would be good!
Let him do a road trip brother movie with Jamie Bell, since they look so much alike. Or let him do an action drama with Jamie Bell lol. Or some kind of family drama movie with Jamie Bell. Do something with Jamie Bell.
I know he's going to be playing Fred Astaire soon, which that will be interesting. He'll be dancing, which we know he can do, and singing, which can he still do well? Not that Fred Astaire could sing so it doesn't really matter. But do a musical for fun, something light.
If he wants to do something gritty, then that's okay, oooooo he should do a horror film. That'd be interesting to see.
I think he needs to not worry about doing franchise things right now. Just let Spider-Man be the franchise, because Chaos Walking and Uncharted didn't turn out the way I guess they were hoping though I think Uncharted could get a sequel. Shoot for 2026 because then Tom will be 31 or so and people can stop complaining that he's too young.
But I just feel like, he's too talented to not act anymore. I want to see him in more things, I want to see him win. I think he wins as Peter Parker/Spider-Man even with his detractors, I like him a lot.
As for Spider-Man, after finishing Spider-Man 2 and how they handled the symbiote (which I have plenty to say about that too), I really want to see Tom Holland's Spidey tackle that storyline. They already set it up by Tom Hardy's Venom leaving behind a piece of the symbiote in Tom's world. Plus, with where we left him, he's pretty vulnerable I'd say. I think he would do it so well, I'm not sure how much more of Spider-Man he has in him, but I need at least one more trilogy from him *cries*. If the MCU and Sony were smart, which in some aspects, they're clearly not lol, they would give Tom another trilogy, or at least 4 or 5 more movies and in one of them, introduce Miles and then bam, a clear out for Tom to leave (they could even have another Peter from another universe appear who isn't Tom if they want to keep a Peter) and have Miles for a while.
But anyway, I wish the best for Tom Holland's career, he's too talented and he deserves some movie wins, that aren't Spider-Man. Rom Com I feel like is the best course corrector to do. Even if it just ends up on Hulu... like have ya'll seen Rye Lane?
But just some ramblings that I've had on my mind for a while.

Industry Q: This might be a bit of an awakened question and feel free not to answer, but what would you consider to be the average compensation for the work you do? Does it depend on the project, or whether or not it’s a TV show or an animated movie?
No worries! Wages are a topic we should talk more about just so that we can normalize having the conversation and artists can advocate for themselves for appropriate pay. As preface, I will say that for American animation there is The Animation Guild, also known as TAG, that has a whole PDF (which can be found here) in detailing wages for different types of jobs in animation. Any working animation artist in the US (freelance, non-union or union production) should use this PDF as a guide for fair wages when you are contracted for projects. If outside the US, you'll have to research accordingly to what common wages are for your area. And with that, let's answer your question! What would you consider to be the average compensation for the work you do? Does it depend on the project? The simple answer: Yes! It really does depend on the project.
There are so many factors that can really change the amount of compensation you are getting paid. Is the project non-union? If so, then that studio doesn't abide by the rules and wages set by TAG. You then have to calculate how much time you are going to spend and equate that to your compensation (which is why it's important to use the TAG wages PDF as a guideline). If it is a union production, the studio are legally obligated to abide by those wages (though that won't stop studios from low-balling artists whenever they can). Being educated about proper wages will help you as an artist in the long run so that you aren't getting jipped for putting a lot of time and effort into your work But a lot of it depends on the project, if it's union or not, if it's full time or freelance, the amount of experience you have or even the budget of the production and whether or not they actually do have the funds to afford your skills. Not to mention, different animation jobs have different pays. I'm currently a board artist and I can comfortably pay my rent (which is ~$2800 a month due to inflation and lack of rent control in Southern California). So I think you can gauge how much I make weekly if I can comfortably pay my rent (even though that price does not equate to the space I live in sadly).
But as an animator, I get paid way less compared to my boarding job and would not be able to afford my bills. And there's a whole lot of reasons why that is but that's a topic for another day. Point is, depending on your job your wage can be drastically different from another job. That's why as you go higher up in the job levels (directors and such) your pay also increases (but they still gotta take taxes out you know). Then we have the caveat of working internationally and some countries don't have a union like America. For example, my first ever animation job in a Japanese anime was 2800¥ per shot (at the time the Yen was much closer to USD, so there was a few dollar difference). But I only had 10 shots to animate so 2800¥ x 10 = 280,000¥ (roughly $280 USD for 10 shots). Granted, that's a normal rate if the studio is given a decent budget. Now, all the animes I work on are somewhere between the 3000¥ - 4000¥ per shot but with the significant drop in the Yen there's almost more than a $15 conversion difference I have to take into account now. I could always negotiate a higher pay but right now I'm considered a "first year" animator in anime so until I gain more experience I can't quite ask for higher pay just yet. Speaking of which, that's another thing you could do when you are approached by a client for work. Negotiating higher pay (especially if you have the experience to back it up) isn't a bad thing to do. You work hard to do your job, you deserve to get paid accordingly. That's why it's important to know what you should be getting paid so that productions don't try to low-ball you. Making art is hard work after all. All in all, there are just so many factors that can determine what I get compensated for my work. So, I kind of have to approach each project as it's own unique thing. Does it depend if it’s a TV show or an animated movie? The answer: Yes, actually.
Just to clarify, feature film animation productions have way larger budgets than TV animation productions.
My pay rate as board artist for TV animated productions is less than what a feature film board artist makes. And that's because feature films have more money invested into them therefore they can afford not only higher wages but also longer production schedules. It takes a year and some change to produce a season of an animated TV show while feature films can get 2+ years (hell there have been features in production for 10 years or more). The smaller your budget, the more your schedule and wages will get affected.
So yeah, your compensation also is dependent on whether or not you're working on a TV series or feature film. I know some industry peers who prefer to work in feature because of the pay and don't wanna have to pick up multiple freelance gigs just to be comfortable. Personally, I enjoy TV animation the most but if I could get feature pay for TV work that would be really really nice. But I don't haha. All in all, what I get paid changes depending on the project but for the most part I like to use the TAG wages PDF as a guideline for when I'm approached for projects. And if it's non-union work (American or international), I do extensive research to make sure I'm not being lowballed for my hard work. I hope that answered your questions!!

I seriously can not stop thinking of how much potential the music for the next game has. I want the intense battle music that gets your heart pumping but randomly hits you with tragically romantic energy in the middle makes you want to cry. The potential for At Wit's End or I Don't Think Now is the Best Time from PoTC type of energy?? I will feel sorely jipped if the opportunity is there and they fail to take it.

wow so this season of shadow and bone is the same in that each individual actor is killing it in embodying their character but the plot is nonsense!!!
Like we’re not going to get the not just girls soft wesper scene, jasper is outed as grisha, the darkling didn’t dramatically interrupt the sea whip hunt and there was no flying Nikolai dramatic act yet :’)
And I’m only through episode two but I guess we are skipping all the apparat religious plot which honestly was looking forward to with the creepy priest in season one, and the interesting play that would have had with Tamar and tolya…. And missing hungry for power Alina it’s like oops she has two now and almost destroyed the boat! No like in the books she looks terribly ill from the fold encounter and not using her ability, she has the scary choker she has to hide and is desperate to find another amplifier
And again it’s jarring the cuts between the two plots - six of crows should have been it’s own show stand-alone. And now it feels like we are in the crooked kingdom plot without ever getting the ice court heist or the outing of parents. Like the editing is really awkward.
I guess I’m just disappointed because the costumes and sets are PERFECT the characters have the right edge for each of them, but they’ve been dropped in a fanfic where the plot bones and the pacing that make each character and relationship feel earned and put together are missing!!!
Although I think the bit we’ve had of malina has been very well done, the Kanej is pushing it for more because .. they shouldn’t be here yet. And Nina calling Matthias the love of her life right when they meet? Opposite the book UGH
I will finish this season to see Ben Barnes go full villain but really am sad that we waited so long for this and as a fan of both series feel we realllllly got jipped

X-MEN DISCUSSION UPDATE!!
Tumblr media
Ok! So I did it!! I bought the x-men box set collection!! 😁 All discs are blue-ray!
And the box set includes: X-men origins wolverine, The wolverine, X-men, X2, X-men the last stand, X-men days of future past, X-men first class.. although I'm gonna be honest.. I was kinda pissed off about the fact the box set, no matter which one you ordered on amazon.. they made x-men first class Region B locked 😤 explain to me this.. WHY!? Why the hell would you let people pay up to $46 dollars for a x-men box set, JUST to region lock one of the movie's!! 😡 I'm just.. you son of a bitch! Anyway I just feel a bit like they jipped me on that deal! I would have preferred all the movie's In the box set worked.. now I have to order another blue-ray disc of First class that's NOT region locked 😡 anyway. Back to the main topic.. the other x-men movies the box set has is X-men apocalypse, Dark Phenix. (I REALLY did not like this one! It didn't feel like X-men at all 😤 ) and then they have the new mutants! And that's all of what the box set has!
Tumblr media
I'm now considering getting the days of future past rouge cut edition as well as a new first class blue-ray dvd version. Preferably NOT region B locked 😡
Anyway! Other then that, I'm excited and happy with the order!! 😁
OHH!!! And unfortunately it doesn't include the last wolverine movie installment, Logan.. so I'll have to buy that separate too! But other then that, it's all good! 😁

Is it weird that I feel jipped that NONE of the reports or articles about the semi truck accident even so much as mention that it hit us coming down? Most of them say it was a single-vehicle accident.
Even the police apparently didn't realize we were directly involved, they thought we'd just hit the debris in the road after the fact. 😑
Nobody even asked if we were okay at the scene and now we're being completely washed out of the story.

The Twilight Naysayers
RKMUSE28
Tumblr media
All the people, directors, media, public who believe the media, and anyone who is in the mood to criticize the Twilight Saga. I don’t know who started this horrible rumor but it’s time they correct it.
#1 -The media is not a fact finding institute. They shoot from the hip and if they’re wrong, they feel no obligation to right that wrong. It becomes another story. It’s unheard of that a 17/18 yr. old woman, and a 21 year old man should be saddled with negative trash over a saga that has made more money, and still is making more money, than any saga in history. Why do you suppose that is if it’s a horrible saga?
The media and studios thought they could destroy the two leads to the Twilight Saga and saddle them with the brunt of criticism over 5 Twilight movies.  Was it largely due to the fact that they both decided to make small independent movies, and the studio lost out on making money off of them positively, so they went the negative way, and the media followed with negative stories on everything and anything they did. Thank God Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were too smart for them to succeed. Directors who joined in the mantra were probably jealous that they themselves didn’t get assigned to direct those 5 movies. The media took free reign for terrorizing two young people for the headlines in their often untruthful stories. The media had no reigns on their stalking. They were chased for years. Paparazzi went beyond decent trying to obtain photos of their personal life. They have restraints now compared to what they had back then.
Those movies are still making money. That is proof of what the public sees and likes, compared to what the media and studios want them to see and unlike. Today Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have WON. They have their privacy to a degree, and they have both overcome the barrage of negativity and have NO REGRETS about their roles in the Twilight Saga....and they shouldn’t have any. They should be proud as hell that they were able to control the renegade media and find some of the privacy they’ve always wanted.
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have a huge fan base that is behind them for the privacy they sought, and found to some extent. Who would want to endure 15 years of their life surrounded by scrutiny because they both wanted to make the movies they wanted to make? Was that the dues they had to pay for not doing follow up studio movies? Rob has the role he’s always wanted. The Batman. Kristen is an Oscar nominated actress who was jipped out of the Oscar, received more awards than any other nominated actress for a movie about a princess, but lost the award to a movie about a con woman? How does that happen? We’ll never know or will we?
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are the most exciting actors today because of their work. They don’t even need the cover anymore, but it’s understandable that they would be redescent and untrusting to draw any attention to themselves personally except the facade gifted to the media to occupy their time for public entertainment.
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson may know they have the backing of a fan base that began with the Twilight Saga, and who do not believe what the media writes, or the pictures the paparazzi photoshop. There’s is more than enough information for a book or two? As Rob said, maybe he’d tell his story if he were getting paid for it. I hope he does and I hope he’s paid for it. Over a decade later, it’s now a Pattinson call.
