FOTD #073 : apricot jelly! (guepinia helvelloides)

apricot jelly (AKA salmon salad & red jelly fungus) is a saprobic jelly fungus in the family exidiaceae. it often grows in small tufts in the soil :-) it is found in canada, the US, mexico, iran, turkey, brazil, puerto rico, china & most parts of europe.

the big question : can i bite it?? yes !! it is edible but bland.

g. helvelloides description :

"the fungus produces salmon-pink, ear-shaped, gelatinous fruit bodies that grow solitarily or in small tufted groups on soil, usually associated with buried rotting wood. the fruit bodies are 4–10 cm (1.6–3.9 in) tall & up to 17 cm (6.7 in) wide; the stalks are not well-differentiated from the cap."

Prompt: Things Able would do to annoy Cain

Ya known how Cain isn't able to be near any plant life? Yes? Well, Able is taking advantage of that.

He makes sure Cain is there to watch him (from a safe distance) making full eye contact with Cain while eating a whole bunch of fruits.

I mean who can blame him?

Wouldn't you also want to eat a big, juicy pineapple infront of the person who killed you and turned you into what you are now? Knowing it's making them suffer....

Able knows how shitty it makes Cain feel so he makes sure to do it every once in a while.

There is no bird Cain isn't fond of he loves them all and enjoys watching them fly even if from a window.

Well... all birds except one...

Able as we know is an animal man, a creature lover and animals love him too. So what happens when he gets his hands on a few let's say about 10 of them?

Just imagine Able leading his troops towards where ever Cain is at. The gesses following him like an army would to a general.

Pass byers look at them bewildered but won't question anybody after a threatening glare and honk.

The moment Peter realized that the Green Goblin had returned, he immediately sent for Mary Jane and their daughter to be sent away for protection. The Fantastic Four wasted no time in taking them in and hiding them and Peter knew that there was no place that he felt was safer for them. The Fantastic Four would all protect them. The last time that Peter had come face to face with the Green Goblin, the monster took someone important from him. The Green Goblin killed Gwen knowing how it would affect Peter. He didn’t want to even think about what the Green Goblin could do to MJ and May. So he didn’t hesitate to make sure that they were staying someplace safe. While his family was under protection, Peter sought out the Goblin. They wouldn’t be able to live in peace if he didn’t take the Green Goblin out. So Peter found him. They fought. And at one point, he managed to knock the mask off. No amount of beatings that Peter had taken in his whole life, compared to the punch in the gut that he felt when he saw who it was. “Norman?!” Peter had been so stunned that not even his spider senses were helping him to get back up to finish this. Because of this, he allowed the Goblin to escape. That finally made him snap out of it. Peter tried to catch up, but he lost him. So the next logical step was to go to Mary Jane. She needed to know. She knew Norman. She knew Harry. This affected her too. It wasn’t long until he was at the Baxter Building and once he was let inside, he went straight to his family. “MJ?” he called out as if he didn’t already know she’d be there. But when he spotted his wife, he removed his mask and went up to her, immediately enveloping her in a tight hug.

Writing update

A Bright Life Chapter 30 has been going well; I will say that there's a temporary pairing, the chapter will be incredibly long (currently 200 words away from being 15k, and I'm only nearly halfway done)

There's an in-progress ABL!Glass x Reader (not the ABL reader, a different one entirely)... but it will be held off until the timeline of that story goes along with the base story timeline. Yes, this occurs in the same universe and time as the base story of A Bright Life. This WAS SUPPOSED to be a oneshot but my writing brain refused and decided this will be chaptered story, but it won't be super long. The name of this fic is Two-way Glass. (reader identifies as female, doesn't have a given name because of it being redacted, a nickname is used for the reader a bit later which is given to them by Dr. Bright despite the reader's declinations for it.)

There is another ABL timeline story with a different reader. This is for Clef and a reader, which was already hinted at in the base story. This is named Alto's Soprano. (reader identifies as non-binary but afab, the reader doesn't have a name or nickname used. I will try not to give one to them, though it makes it easier to write for me. I will ask now and later if the reader should have a name or get a nickname later into the story.)

The main characters in ABL will interact with these side stories. They will be included in the main story and the side stories. Some scenes won't be included and will be exclusive to that story!

And finally, there is going to be a Cain/073 x reader smut story! This will NOT be in the A Bright Life universe. This story will not have a healthy 'relationship'. I will put trigger warnings in the story beginning notes on AO3. I have not begun writing the story, it is in the planning stage currently.

Game: Simple 1500 Series Vol. 52: The Pro Wrestling (PS1)

The Simple Series was a string of “budget” PS1 games. The “1500″ in the title indicates that the title would be sold for 1500 yen (in 1999). I think that’s less than 10 dollars in 1999, which I think is more than a good price for a game like this.
