La chiesa di pietra di Voss sorge sul sito di un antico tempio pagano. Alla metà del XIII secolo qui venne costruita una chiesa di pietra in stile gotico. Con la Riforma luterana furono rimossi molti elementi originali, ma si sono conservati l’altare in pietra e la caratteristica guglia lignea. La vetrata istoriata del 1923 commemora il 900° anniversario della conversione al cristianesimo di Voss.

La chiesa è sfuggita miracolosamente alla distruzione durante gli intensi bombardamenti tedeschi che avevano occupato nel 1940, la Norvegia.

La chiesa in pietra di Voss fu costruita nel 1277 e può ospitare circa 500 persone. Il sito dell'attuale chiesa potrebbe essere stato occupato un tempo da un tempio pagano. Nel 1023, il re Olaf Haraldsen visitò Vossevangen per convertire il popolo al cristianesimo. La tradizione dice che costruì una grande croce di pietra nel sito, che fu probabilmente il primo luogo di culto cristiano a Voss e divenne la chiesa principale di Hordafylket durante il Medioevo.

La prima chiesa qui era costruita in legno, ma fu sostituita da una chiesa in pietra nel 1277. In una lettera reale risalente al 1271, il re Magnus Lagabøte espresse la sua soddisfazione per il fatto che i parrocchiani avrebbero sostituito l'edificio in legno con uno in pietra, e sollecita la prosecuzione e il completamento di questo compito. Quando fu terminata nel 1277, la chiesa fu dedicata a San Michele.

2023 Retrospective: Most Underrated Comeback

P1Harmony – JUMP/Fall in Love Again

P1Harmony seems to be stuck in this limbo of not being known, but also having many people advocating for them online. This year, I finally got it. JUMP and Fall in Love Again are both great songs that have been stuck in my head for a while now. It seems when they don’t do the typical 4th Gen noise music, they release nothing but bangers only. I hope they get their big break this year.

Honourable Mentions:

Shaun feat. Jeff Satur – Steal the Show

Gotta say, having a K-Pop artist collaborate with Jeff Satur was not on my 2023 Bingo card, but it’s not unwelcome. Steal the Show is a great song showcasing the strengths of both Shaun and Jeff. Though Jeff does hard carry the song in parts.

FORESTELLA – KOOL

Deep Sigh Does this song give me fight or flight? Yes, yes it does. But can I also acknowledge that it’s a genuinely well produced pop song with absolutely fantastic vocals? Yes, yes, I can. I can at the same time think that the chorus is really catchy, but also cringe at a professionally trained operatic tenor singing/rapping the line “Gimme that chilly, chilly, chilly, baby you’re so illy.” in front of the Paradise Diner. A part of me wants to believe that A.C.E dared them to do this, because two of the members are credited for the song and choreo, but thinking about it, they fully consented to this. Also, now that FORESTELLA has decided to do normal K-Pop, everyone else can just go home.

BLITZERS – Macarena

This song reminds me a lot of something Block B would release. It’s fun, it’s catchy and it has a lot of talent behind it. BLITZERS is also a nugu group that deserves more attention and I hope that they are able to get more fans in the new year.

Lee Seung Yoon – Pricey Hangover

So, this guy. I have no idea who he is, but he started out the year with a round house kick to my ribs. Pricey Hangover is an absolutely fantastic song and while I wish there was more like it in K-Pop I don’t think many people aside from him, WOODZ and Jaejoong can pull this sound off properly.

Day 7: Alleyway

Character(s): The Crow, Osiris, Saint-14, Cayde-6

Universe: Weird Lights AU

Crow was used to the looks people gave him anytime he walked through the streets. He knew the people had loved Cayde-6 and it was Uldren’s fault he almost died. He had just wanted to meet up with Cayde, Saint, and Osiris at the Ramen shop in the city when he was thrown into an alleyway.

Crow staggered to his feet and looked up at the one who had dragged him. A man, civilian, non light-bearer. There was that familiar look of hatred on his face and Crow decided he would take the punch.

The force of the punch sent him to the ground and blood dripped down his face. The man snarled at him, shouting about how the Traveler shouldn’t have chosen a monster like him to revive, that Uldren should have stayed dead, that since he was alive, his life shouldn’t be allowed to be easy. Crow just took it. If he hurt a civilian, everyone would back whatever the civilian claimed and he could be exiled. Plus, if this was how he vented his grief and anger than Crow was fine being his punching bag. Though why people seemed to have grief for someone still alive baffled him.

“I’ve contact Cayde, Osiris and Saint, they’re on their way,” said Glint, through their bond

‘Why did you get them involved? He’ll grow tired at some point and just leave,’

“Because we are apart of the Vanguard now, people are willing to help us,” Glint responded

The man kicked Crow in the stomach and Crow coughed up blood.

“Hey!” roared the familiar voice of Saint-14

The man and Crow looked up as the hulking titan stalked into the alleyway. The civilian backed up but stopped when he bumped into Osiris, who had appeared behind him. Cayde crouched down beside Crow and helped him up. Crow slumped against him, relieved.

“Crow,” said Osiris, glancing at him, “If someone attacks you, you have every right to defend yourself, guardian or not,”

Crow nodded meekly as Saint rounded on the man and began to shout at him, voice raising loud enough that people in the street stopped to look on. Osiris wordlessly cast a healing rift and Crow’s wounds healed.

“If you’re worried about people believing your attacker over you, just have Glint record the attack before you fight back, then you can use it as evidence,” said Cayde, patting Crow on the arm as Crow got back on his own feet.

“I already do that,” mumbled Crow, “I just don’t think anyone would believe me, evidence or no evidence,”

“If you already do that, do you have recordings of guardians beating you up before you ended up with the Spider?” asked Osiris

“Yes, I do, even some of the Spiders…punishments,” said Crow, “Why?”

“Show them to Zavala when we get back from ramen,” said Cayde, “He’ll make sure those guardians pay,”

“But it wasn’t entirely their fault! They were manipulated by Ahamkara Wish magic!” exclaimed Crow

“The magic just made them act how they would in a non-weird-light timeline. They would have acted like that regardless,” said Osiris, “Tell Zavala, alright?”

“Alright,” said Crow, “Thank you,”

“Of course!” said Cayde, with a grin, “You’re one of us now, kid, get used to it,”
