#Bella Ciao
Text
I know mine isn't a political blog but I can’t stay silent in front of what's happening in Iran.
I saw videos of many people cutting their hair in protest, women burning their hijabs and, what I took more pride in seeing, Iranian people intonating the Italian song "Bella Ciao" as a sign of protest.
Bella Ciao is the most famous resistance song of my country, it was born during WWII and it was sung by Italian partisans against the fascist dictatorship.
I hate it when I see remixes of this song, people dancing on it on TikTok for some stupid trends but THIS, this is important. This is the purpose of this song. RESISTANCE.
Bella Ciao is for everybody who is fighting around the world.

You know Meloni’s Nazi government is scared as fuck because the cops just beat peaceful protesters to a pulp for protesting for ceasefire.
Most of us stand with Palestine. Anti-fascism is always gonna win. REAL ITALIANS ARE ANTI-FASCISM AND ANTI-NAZISM. Therefore, we are anti-Zionism and our government does NOT represent us.
Hoping to witness a peaceful and liberated Palestine in my lifetime. 🇵🇸 ✊

I know most non-Italian people know this from La Casa de Papel, but I think it's good to listen to the Iconic Version by Modena City Rambles. Especially today.
Buon 25 Aprile, Italia. We got free once, we will do it again 🇮🇹

I love, love the way fantasy and sci-fi recently have a very strong theme of the power of stories and song to fight back against the oppressor, to inspire resistance and rebellion. Damn right! The rich and powerful have always assumed music and art and literature belonged to them, but there’s a very strong tradition of the poor and low born and oppressed using music and stories to defy their oppressors and rise up against them.

For anyone that has watched La Casa de Papel — I just had a moment ✨
The Carnival parade went by our house and it took me a minute but I was like BELLA FUCKING CIAO IS PLAYING!!!!!
And I felt like I was truly in Spain even though it’s an Italian song 😂
Ugh, just iconic. The drums from the marching band were on point. Sounded so epic flowing through the streets. ✨
