Stargate-Atlantis S5: E16 Brain Storm

Rodney is Sheppard's mirror, the other side of the same coin. Like Outcast, Rodney returns to earth only to find he doesn't fit in, that his peers think he's a loser and a waste. Like Ronon in Outcast, he has Keller at his side to remind him that he is seen and needed, just not here.

In the end, just like Sheppard, Rodney goes all the way to save his person. Yeah, he'll try to save as many as he can, but really, he's only interested in saving Keller.

Sheppard struggles with self-loathing. Rodney with arrogance that pushes people away. They both struggle to connect, but they both willingly place themselves in harms way for their people. And they both finally found a place to belong in Atlantis.

We think of Sheppard as an Outcast because he's misunderstood and he uses his snark to hide the scars. We tend to think Rodney is an Outcast because he's arrogant. But what if he's arrogant because he's an Outcast and he's hiding his scars, and Atlantis is the first place, the team are the first people he hasn't had to do that with.

(Guys, they're all a bunch of Goonies. Goonies never say die.)

In Outcast, Sheppard is a soldier, so still in the fight, and his fight is to save the world.

Rodney is a scientist, not a soldier, so he's still in the fight but to save one person.

If you put someone from Firefly in a show, they will figure out how to reference it, Keller and strawberries.

I think maybs this was a bad idea... I just remembered I don't really like these people.

I love Keller with Rodney because she tells him what he needs to hear, but also gives him reassurance and confidence.

Poor Rodney, he genuinely has worked on this exact time-space bridge, and he knows exactly how dangerous it is and everyone just thinks he's being arrogant and petty.

I love that because of their experience on Atlantis, Rodney and Keller are both quick to jump in and deal with things. Others stand around, but they get to work.

Rodney saves the day and gets the girl. Or, more importantly, Rodney sacrifices the praise of his peers for the woman he loves.

I have read a lot of creepy Gotham fanfiction but I have not seen any weird and uncanny Metropolis headcanon so I'm gonna make some (probably will write a fanfiction in far future too lol)

Just gonna call it Uncannolis for now!

The biggest thing to talk about is the 'neighbor', the most inhumane side of the city because I want Superman to have friends or something like that, thank you very much.

Anyways, they have always enjoyed staying away from government as best as they could. Now, when thinking of a place full of 'neighbor' and weird creepy creatures, the first thing everyone thinks of will definitely be Gotham. Duh, even their hero is seen as the epitome of fear and revenge? What could be a better place for those 'neighbor'.

Ironically, Gotham is the place filled with less 'neighbor' the most.

The true capital? Uncannolis.

Most people take a first glance at Uncannolis and they're like yeah this is a normal city. But the more they pay attention to it, the more freaked out they feel.

The too-perfectly-bright sunny day, the fresh trees that never wilt, the cheerfulness in people... all of those seems too perfect, too good to be true.

As you go deeper into this place, the uncanny and slightly magical side in Uncannypolis starts unraveling. The soft humming in a gentle breeze. The pitch black shadow next to the golden sunlight. The cat that always manages to climb up the tree even when the houses are all closed. The laughter ringing in the air. 1The people moving along with the sun and the wind because they all know that as long as they don't make a big thing over 'them', nothing wrong will happen. It never gets a chance to happen.

The brighter the light is, the darker the shadow grows

Moving on, the whole world gets another shock when they realize that the civilian is impossibly chill about Superman. Too accepting? What the hell Metropolos? An overpowered man pops up one day and decides that he will save people? And you guys all go like ok cool! You are one of us now! : D!

Superman loves his city so much. And they love him back too. An alien is a nice addition to the collection of 'neighbor' after all!

Batman never wants to go to Uncannolis. The vibe is completely different from Gotham in more than one way and he is, uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. He will rather go kick Joker ass, thank you.

Even the League of Assassin knows that Uncannolis is something not to play with. They never stay too long there, only to finish some mission and quickly return.

The 'eyes' don't like unwelcomed guests on their land after all.

Moribund Manor

( Ioseph. Inspired by Eddie Redmayne in Savage Grace. I had him for a while now. Hesitated on making it into an IF because of his very nsfw, nsfl nature. Moribund Manor. A horror survival interactive novel. Set in the turn of the century; year 2000, October.

The protagonist finds themself in possession of an Invitation after winning it in a scary short story contest from their small horror writing club. “We cordially invite you to a five night stay at Moribund Manor”. The letter goes on to describe a mysterious past tragedy and subsequent hauntings. A horror themed retreat. A perfect opportunity to overcome writer’s block.

Characters will be MC, a fellow winner from the club (one of two ROs, depends on MC’s vote in the contest. One is a found footage/ paranormal investiagtion nerd and the other is a goth anime/manga horror/guro fan), and three other guests; a homophobic middle aged man and a straight couple, and the eccentric host; Ioseph.

I’ve already stated it’s a horror survival. People are going to die, and the order of their death will depend on the choices MC makes. MC themself may not survive (don’t worry, I’ll implement saves). The longer a character survives, the more you get to see of their perspectives and intimate fears.

It’ll be something of a nostalgia for both mainstream classic horror and underground sex horror. It’ll have some perverse, depraved, and even grotesque scenes. I won’t go full on exploitative genre -- I cannot stomach that, nor do I want to. But considerinig how tame IF usually is, I’ll be slapping on as many warnings as possible. The thing I can never handle in horror is loved ones/pets being hurt and not being able to do anything about it. I absolutely hate it when it’s played for horror. I’ll try to avoid that, but if MC gets attached to someone, and they happen to die... oh well. Nothing I can do about that.

For above reasons and because it’s not the focus, there won’t be romance deeply formed enough to be love -- all the characters are ones mc has only met recently. But there will be opportunities for a budding romance with the fellow club member, and many opportunities for casual sex with almost everyone.

one thing i need to decide is exactly How long it’s been since the end of the Radiant Age. It has a lot of implications on the whole rest of world building like.

How much radiation is left in the world? How much previous infrastructure is actually there? How long has it been since humanity came back from their stasis pods and bunkers? How much of what is known about the radiant age is accurate oral history, and how much of it is distorted re-written legend?
