A 2,500-year-old canoe discovered in Lake Neuchâtel
The oak canoe was found in 2021 and lifted 14 days ago. It dates from the Iron Age between 750 and 520 BC, is about 13 m long and was lying on a sandbank 3.5 m deep. The very fragile and "very sick lady", as the archaeologists call it, is now being conserved so that it can be exhibited later.
