Hey so what are your thoughts on the theory that Dragon might actually the biological son of Xebec? I think it's pretty interesting to think about considering the implications it has (depending on what ends up being canon).
For example, if Crocodad is real and Dragon is Xebec's son, that would imply that Garp's biological child is... Crocodile.
Also, I think it works well with the idea that Roger knew Garp would protect his child... because he saw him do that exact thing during the God Valley incident for the son of Xebec. Another child born from a man deemed an extreme by the World Government.
It's an interesting idea but the only reason people keep on suggesting that theory is just that the really vague silhouette of Xebec we have seen kinda vaguely resembles Dragon on the hair-department (and people want Xebec to connect to some other character somehow somewhere, thus we have also have people ALSO suggesting Xebec is related to (or straight up just is) Croc, Buggy, Blackbeard and god knows who else)
And I just personally don't buy it.
Main thing is that Garp has made it explicitly clear that Dragon is his child, his very own son, multiple times (and as recently as in the brief Aokiji flashback where he complains about his son becoming a revolutionary).
The other thing is that Garp and Dragon look alike
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finding good panels to do comparisons is a bit hard, and the art can fluctuate a little bit (especially the hairlines for both characters) and when the characters aren't even doing the same expression it messes with the proportions a bit But generally speaking, they have similarly shaped hairlines and the same nose-shape. Hair texture too though it's less obvious since Garp has gone gray;; I would make a comparison to Young Garp but his nose is a different shape, but that just makes Young Garp look resemble Luffy so much more
Of course, I wouldn't put too much money on similar faces meaning things due to Oda's Same Face Syndrome, but really the only major differences between how Dragon and Garp look are Dragon's lack of eyebrows (or if he has eyebrows they're just really thin compared to Garp's bushier ones) and more hooded brows in general. In my mind, they look more alike than different and that very specific nose-shape alone says a lot
So I personally no doubt about Garp and Dragon being related, just as I have no doubt Garp and Luffy are related (and thus, by extension, Luffy and Dragon too)
It's also the fact that I see no point in Oda telling us who Luffy's dad is THROUGH GARP if they're not actually related, AND SO MANY YEARS AGO. Like, it'd just feel like a pointless lie, an absolutely useless plot-twist because like, while it would tell us a bit more about Garp, it wouldn't do anything to change Luffy and Dragon's non-existant relationship with each other, nor Luffy and Garp's. Like it'd be a twist for the sake of having a twist, throwing out nearly two decade old lore for what?
And I feel like Crocodad would make that even worse. Because suddenly we'd have to ask many uncomfortable questions about what kind of a relationship Garp has with his transgender pirate son. And if he considders his son-in-law more like his own family than Crocodile... fucking yikes, man. Like Garp is a flawed human being but I don't want to add that to the list of shit he's fucked up. Like despite everything, Garp is still understandable and likable (for me at least) and I just don't want him to get pushed over the edge like that
One last thing is that Dragon would've been 17 at the time of the God Valley incident (and Crocodile was 9). Like sure Garp could've lowkey adopted a 17 year old or just taken him in as a student, but still... He's a bit old to be taken in like that and for Garp to start considdering Dragon his own son
I just don't buy into the theory at all personally

Shanks raise ASL part 9
First - Previous
Luffy made his way to Makino’s bar. It’s was late enough in the morning that the villagers were milling around. When Luffy made it to Party Bar he was almost surprised to not see any members of the Red Hair Pirates in there drinking yet.
“Luffy! What are you doing here so early?” Makino greeted the little boy when she saw him walk in. She was surprised to see Luffy but it wasn’t a bad thing. She was more surprised that he was here without either of his brothers or Shanks with him.
“Morning Makino! Me, Ace, and Sabo went hunting this morning! We wanted to catch something for Shanks and the crew. Did you know we’re going with him!” Luffy told her all about his morning and his plan, full of excitement for the future. He did so without any thought to how Makino would react to him leaving with a group of violent pirates.
Makino to her credit wasn’t to surprised or concerned. While she wished Luffy would wait until he was older to leave, she always knew he and his brothers were too big for their sleepy island. And she knew Shanks would protect the boys with his life, no questions asked, the boys would be as safe on the sea as they could be. Garp won’t agree but he had lost this argument long ago, these three boys were made to be pirates, not marines.
Just then the door to the bar was violently thrown open. A group of rough men walking into the bar. Makino recognized their leader almost immediately.
It was Higuma. He led a rival mountain bandit crew to Dadan’s and he was not fond of Curly Dadan or her family. He also had a hatred for Shanks after the last time the red haired pirate was in town and drank the Party Bar dry. He hadn’t been back since and Makino had hopped it would stay that way.
“I heard those weak pirates are back in town.” Higuma stated as soon as he walked into the bar his men spreading out. “I thought we’d pay them a visit but it seems the weaklings aren’t here yet. All the better I’d hate to kill the red head in here and dirty your floors when he’s not alive to clean them up.”
Makino had moved to try and put herself between the man and Luffy as soon as he entered but she wasn’t quick enough.
“Shanks isn’t weak!” The little seven year old bellowed, drawling the bandit’s eyes right to him. “Don’t you dare mock him and his crew. He could kill you without even trying”
“Oh I remember you, you’re the little brat who hangs around with the pirates.” Higuma stated as he moved closer to the little boy.
“Hey boss, I think I’ve seen him running around with Dadan’s brat as well.” Called out one of the bandits. Makino cursed the man in her mind.
“Curly Dadan huh, well looks like we’ll kill two birds with one stone.” The man said before he back handed Luffy across the face.
“Luffy.” Makino cried out running to the little boy.
“Trash the place boys!” Higuma called out to his men. They cheered and started flipping the tables and breaking the stools.
Makino looked at the destruction occurring and quickly grabbed Luffy. “Luffy lets go.” There was no way they could stop these men.
“No Makino! They can’t do this!” Luffy struggled against her as she tried to get him out of the bar. Higuma saw them trying to escape and blocked their path.
“Now where do you think you’re going?” He asked as he reached for Makino. With a scream Luffy launched himself at the bandit.
“Go get help Makino.” He called as he knocked the bandit over. Makino hated this. Hated the idea of leaving Luffy with these men, but she couldn’t fight them. If she stayed then no one would come to help them. So she ran. Ran as fast as she could to Woop Slap.
Higuma quickly threw Luffy off of him. The little boy landed roughly, groaning as he bounced off the ground. Luffy started to push himself up but wasn’t quick enough to avoid the kick Higuma aimed at his stomach. Yet to Higuma and the bandits’ shock instead of the boy being sent flying by the kick, his body streched with the impact.
“What the?” Higuma cried as Luffy’s body snapped back to normal. He reached down and grabbed Luffy’s cheek stretching it out and letting it snap back into place. “Devil fruit.” He whispered in awe.
“Hey boss we could get a lot of money from selling this kid.” Called out one of the bandits.
“Ya I heard some Celestial Dragons were going to be visiting the island soon. Maybe they’d buy him. I heard they love exotic things.” Another tacked on.
Higuma smirked as he bent down and grabbed Luffy by the neck, picking the struggling boy up. “That’s not a bad idea.” He said as he started to lead the bandits out of the bar.
Luffy tried to struggle out of his grip but nothing was working, so he did the only thing he could think of. He spat at Higuma. The man paused wiping the spit from his face, huffing out a breath of a chuckle. Before he slammed Luffy into the ground. The little boy cried out at the impact. He started to push himself up when Higuma stepped in the boy’s head.
“I’m not going anywhere with you!” Luffy shouted at the bandit.
“You need to watch yourself kid, no one who’s made me mad has lived to tell the horrifying tale.” Higuma said as he reached for his sword.
“Wait stop!” Woop Slap yelled as he and Makino arrived on the scene. “I don’t know what he’s done and I don’t intended to fight you over it. If you accept I’ll even pay you for it but please just spare the poor boy’s life.”
“Mayor!” Luffy called out intent on telling the old man to stop.
“Sorry but this rotten boy’s already made me angry.” Higuma said as he drew his sword.
“You’re the rotten one!” Luffy yell back. Never standing down from a fight.
“And your a lost cause which you can regret in the next life.” Higuma said placing his sword at Luffy’s neck. Both Makino and Woop Slap begged him to stop. But everything stopped when they heard a voice behind them.
“I was wondering why the bar was empty on such a fine day.” While his tone was light and jovial his eyes were hard, trained on Higuma and Luffy. He learned a long time ago to act as though nothing bothered him so that his enemies couldn’t see his weak points, but with a sword at Luffy’s throat it was hard to remember that. “So it’s the mountain bandits again.”
Shanks had been tracking the boy’s haki all morning. He’d noticed when Luffy separated from his brothers, when he crossed paths with Mihawk, and when he ran into the bar. He had also noticed when the multiple dull presences entered the bar after his son had. He didn’t hesitate to get the crew together and head over there. Something was wrong. He knew it. If he was right, hopefully they would get to Luffy in time, and if he was wrong well, drinks on him.
But he wasn’t wrong. This lowlife was back, but this time he had attacked Luffy. He and his men wouldn’t live to see the sunset.
“Shanks.” He heard Luffy gasp out from around the man’s shoe. His fist tightened at the sound wanting to remove this man from his son as quickly as possible. But this was delicate as Luffy was too close to the man. They would have to be careful.
“Pirates, just now showing your heads? Have you spent all this time scrubbing the village?” Higuma taunted but Shanks ignored him. He wasn’t going to rise to a weak man’s bait, especially when said man had a sword tip so close to his son’s neck.
Instead he focused on Luffy. “Luffy didn’t you say earlier that your punches were stronger than pistols?” He made the question light. Luffy’s response would allow him to gauge how hurt his boy was. If Luffy didn’t respond or only grunted then his boy was desperately injured and they’d have to act fast.
“Shut your mouth.” Luffy responded with his regular fire. Good he wasn’t hurt to badly then. Shanks was still going to kill all of these bandits for even trying to hurt him.
Shanks start to calmly walk towards Higuma and Luffy. “Listen I don’t know what you’re doing here but you might want to leave.” Higuma obviously didn’t know who Luffy was to Shanks. Good that would make this far easier if he thought this was a stupid pirate butting in and not a father protecting his son. “You wouldn’t want something bad to happen.” The threat was empty. Shanks could tell, as Higuma’s sword hadn’t moved any closer to Luffy. “And I I have just the man to deliver the message.” Higuma finished his threat as one of his men swung his pistol to be level with Shanks’s head.
Oh. He was trying to threaten Shanks. He was dumber than he looked. But Shanks stopped moving forward with the gun pointed at his head. He wasn’t worried. He was making a point.
“I’ll blow your head off if I have to, but that’s up to you my friend.” The bandit taunted and the men around them laughed. Just as Shanks excepted, all talk. He wondered how many weaker souls had fallen for this bluff. He could see the confident smirk on Higuma’s face and the fear in Luffy’s. This was Luffy’s first time seeing Shanks and his crew in a fight. He understood the boy’s worry, but it was misplaced. After today Luffy would know not to worry in situations like this, would understand men like this were not a threat. Yet a part of Shanks mourned the innocence Luffy was about to lose.
“Would you risk your life?” Shanks asked not looking at the man, but hearing his noise of disbelief. “Now that you’ve drawn your pistol are you willing to use it?”
“What the hell are you talking about?” The man asked in shock. Shanks finally turned to look at the man, his face would be the last this man ever saw. He could see Lucky Roux starting to move.
“I’m saying guns aren’t for threats they’re for actions.” And with that statement, Lucky’s gun went off. The bandit dropping dead.
Shanks kept his head down, silently hoping Luffy could forgive him one day for introducing this violence to him. He knew Luffy had fought before, had rescued him and his brothers from the Bluejam pirates, but killing someone so coldly was different. It was a violence that would have touched his son eventually as they traveled out to sea, but to have it happen in Luffy’s home village felt wrong.
He could hear Makino and Woop Slap’s horrified gasps and Luffy’s shocked breath, but he couldn’t focus on them now.
“You! You’re a dead man!” Cried one of the bandits.
“These guys fight dirty.” Called another.
Shanks could feel his crew moving closer around him, offering strength, if you fought one Red Haired Pirate you fought them all.
“Dirty?” Yasopp asked almost sounding confused and affronted by the word.
“Who did you think you were dealing with?” Benn asked, picking up were Yasopp left off. “We didn’t claim to be saints or anything.” His statement meant for the shocked towns people as much as it was for the bandits.
“You fellows are staring down a crew of pirates.” Shanks said taking in the fear from the men in front of him.
“Shut up!” One called. “We just want the boy not you.” That was the stupidest thing he could have said to Shanks. As if Shanks would ever let them hurt his boy.
“Listen up bandits.” He somehow managed to keep his rage out of his voice, keeping it calm and collected the whole time. “Whether I’m sprayed with alcohol, doused with booze, hell even if I’m spit on, most of the time I’ll just laugh it off and forget about it.” His head snapped up to look Higuma dead in the eye. His voice finally darkening. “But if you hurt a friend of mine, you’ll pay for it regardless of your reason.” It was a true statement, Shanks would set an island a blaze for any of his friends, but for his sons, he’d burn the world.
And this man was still. Touching. His. Kid.
Higuma just laughed. “So we’re going to pay? Lousy pirates kill them all men!” He ordered as all the bandits screamed and rushed forward.
Shanks didn’t move as Benn step forward on his right, his hand already on his gun. “I’ll take care of this. Shouldn’t be a big deal.” Benn didn’t want his captain wasting his time on these lowlifes. Plus they had hurt his nephew, he wasn’t letting them leave here breathing. He drew his gun, his movements were faster than these men could track, lining up his shot and firing. The bandits hadn’t realized one of their own had dropped before his next shot was fired. He decimated the whole gang in under a minute, lining his gun up with Higuma’s head. “You shouldn’t get to cocky. If you really wanted to fight us, looks like a battleship or something bigger would have been more useful.”
The man stood there in fear and shock but Shanks ignored him, his eyes tracking to his son’s slack faces. He was ready for there to be fear in his son’s eyes but instead Luffy was looking at Benn in awe. A quiet “Wow.” Leaving his lips.
Higuma panicked, finally removing his foot from Luffy’s face. “Hold on it was the kid who attacked us.” He cried out.
Shanks wasn’t about to let an adult blame a child for their actions. “I thought you were a wanted man.” This man was dying today.
Higuma, realizing there was nothing he could say to save himself, let out a cry and threw something on the ground. The thing exploded and for a heart stopping second Shanks worried the man decided to blow himself and Luffy up rather than fight them. But then the smoke started billowing out at them at a rapid rate.
“A smoke screen.” He growled. What a coward. When then the smoke cleared Higuma was there, but that was expected. What wasn’t expected was that Luffy was gone to. “Luffy?” Skanks called shocked that his son wasn’t where he last saw him. For a second he hoped the boy would pop out, maybe he ran away from the smoke.
But when that didn’t happen ice filled Shanks veins again. His hand flew to the sides of this head as he yelled out, “Oh no I let that guy take him!” He quickly turned around to face his crew in his panic. One of them had to know what to do. “What are we going to do?!” He screamed looking at Lucky Roux.
“Boss calm down! Stop freaking out we’ll find him in no time.” Lucky Roux tried to reassure him. They all knew just how important Luffy was to Shanks. They also adored the little anchor themselves. They’d spread out and search the whole island for the boy if they had to. Higuma wasn’t getting away from them, and he certainly wasn’t going to take Luffy from them.
The Red Hair Pirates took off to search the town. All eager to be the one to find Higuma and put an end to the man who thought he could take Luffy from them.
Shanks was about to run off as well when Benn grabbed his arm. “Captain I know your worried but,”
“No Benn! I can’t wait I need to find Luffy now!” Shanks head was consumed by worry for his son. He couldn’t believe his first mate would be the one to slow him down.
“And is there anything you can do that might help you find him faster?” Benn said giving his captain a pointed look. It took Shanks a second to understand what his first mate was getting at. Oh, his observation Haki. In his panic he almost forgot. He sent out a wave looking for his boy.
There. He could feel Luffy being taken away from the village, but he wasn’t heading in land. No he was heading out to sea.
“I found them. Come on Benn.” Shanks called as he took off running.
“Right behind you Captain.” Been called as he chased after the younger man.

Part 9.5 Special of Eri!Reader please?
It’s when Coby and Helmeppo are training and Coby is telling Garp about Reader (Garp allows it because he likes hearing about his Granddaughter, but he isn’t going to tell anyone that *yet* because it’s none of their business *and he forgot*)
Meanwhile the Warlord meeting is not only about Luffy but if any of them get any information about Reader’s whereabouts, they will go there to collect her immediately, but she must be alive and unharmed (Any of the Warlords that aren’t present are given these orders by mail) with the threat that if they don’t follow the last one, they’ll be immediately stripped of their Warlord Status, making the Warlord’s present very intrigued about this child
Mihawk isn’t going to say he already met the girl nor is he worried because one of the Emperor’s of the Sea already swore to keep her safe, (Though he’s a bit curious about how two other certain Emperor’s will feel about her)
-Coby and Helmeppo were newer recruits in the marines, both following Luffy’s exploits, but only one of them was a fan while the other could stand the straw hat punk.
-They were training with Garp, who was doing a good job of turning them into strong and respectable soldiers for the marines, plus Coby kept talking about his cute little granddaughter.
-Garp couldn’t wait to meet you! As well as giving Luffy several lumps for not telling him that he had such a cute little granddaughter, as he had been adoring your bounty poster- you looked so sweet!!
-Nobody needed to know that you were his granddaughter and that Luffy was his grandson, and if anyone found out, he would just say he forgot again.
-In the headquarters of the marines, a meeting had been called for the Seven Warlords to attend, but in the end, only three showed up, which was amazing, compared to previous meetings.
-Those who attended and those who didn’t attend all received the same orders, along with a copy of your bounty poster, if any of them were to see you, they were to immediately capture you, unharmed, and deliver you to HQ alive and intact.
-Seeing your photograph, looking so tiny and innocent, Doflamingo, Kuma, and Mihawk all had to wonder what was so special about you.
-Mihawk remained silent that he had met you once before, but these puppets didn’t need to know that- especially since you were now, unknowingly, under the protection of Shanks, and he hid the shade of a smile as he tipped his head down, his hat hiding his smile.
-He couldn’t help but wonder how the World Government and the marines were going to react, learning this piece of information.
-However, that raised another question, about how Whitebeard and possibly Big Mom was going to react, seeing such a young child being so heavily wanted, as he knew how Shanks reacted to this news.
-Looks like things were going to get shaken up quite a lot from here on out.
-Elsewhere, out in the ocean, you were blissfully unaware of the impending storm, as you were sitting in Luffy’s lap, looking nervous as you held the Den-Den Mushi from Ace, listening to it ring after Nami helped you call him after you wanted to tell Ace about your newest adventures, missing your other big brother.
-Ace was on Whitebeard’s ship at the time of the call and he immediately answered, “Hello~” you flinched on your side before he, Whitebeard, Marco, and the others all listened in, as Ace had been doing nothing about gushing about his cute little sister.
-They heard Luffy speak, his voice quiet, like he was whispering, “Go ahead.” Before they heard your little voice, “Umm- Ace?” you were really too cute as Ace beamed, “Is that my favorite little Y/N in the world?” you giggled sweetly before he spoke, “So to what do I owe a call from my favorite little sister in the whole world from?”
-You grinned, hearing his words, “I wanted to talk to you- we went into the sky, and I met a whale!” oh lords above you were adorable, many of Ace’s own crew huddled around him, hearing your little voice.
-When Ace showed all of them your bounty poster they were all immediately enraged, seeing that the government wanted you alive only, and Whitebeard even told Ace to bring you to him, so they could protect you.
-Ace grinned, teasing Luffy, “A whale huh? You know, my captain’s ship looks like a whale~” your little gasp made them so happy, “A whale- did you hear big brother- it’s a whale!” Luffy growled, yelling into your Den-Den Mushi, “Oi! Don’t be trying to steal Y/N from me!!”
-Loud laughter on the other side of the call surprised you as your crew realized Ace was with his crew and they were all listening in before Ace grinned, “Guess I should come and visit you soon, so you can tell me all about your adventures in the sky.”
-Your eyes sparkled, “Really? You’ll come visit?” He grinned warmly, feeling warmth spreading across his chest, “Yup- I’ll come visit you and Luffy too I guess.” Luffy yelled at Ace over the Den-Den Mushi before you spoke up again, being a little shy, “Are- are you going to come soon? I miss you big brother.”
-A crash on the other side followed by laughter filled your ears as Ace collapsed, clutching his chest as a mantra escaped his lips on how he was a bad big brother for making you sad and making you miss him.
-A new voice then spoke over the call, chuckling before speaking, “So you’re Y/N right? My name is Edward Newgate, or Whitebeard. Since you’re Ace’s sister, that makes me your grandpa!” a roar of cheers on the other side took you by surprise as your eyes went wide and sparkly, “Really? I’ve never had a grandpa before!”
-A louder crash was heard as Whitebeard fell, clutching his own chest from your cuteness which made more laughter come from the other side. Luffy couldn’t help but grin, seeing you happy, as were the other members of your own crew, some who were stunned to learn that you had just been adopted by Whitebeard himself, one of the strongest pirates in the world.
-If anything ever happened to them, Luffy and the others all knew that you would be safe as you said goodbye to Ace and your new grandpa.
-You beamed up at Luffy, finding that calling someone was rather fun and laughed, ruffling your hair warmly which made you grin.
-Elsewhere, Garp shivered, a feeling of dread washing over him, it felt like he had just lost something very important to another.

What it’s like to date Monkey D. Luffy <3
Warnings: Fluff, smut, adult content, romance, details of dating someone, affection, blah blah
Summary: How dating adult Luffy would be, how he treats his partner, what he does for them.
Tumblr media
✎ Food. This man loves his food so you two will be eating lots of meals and snacks together. But it would be great if you never finish your meals because he would never decline finishing it for you, smiling as he licks lips and thanks you. + If you like cooking!
✎Luffy would put his hat on you all the time, when he's bored, when you're sad or angry. He feels that his hat is going to be safe with you which he is right about. You always love peaking at him with his straw hat on your head, making him giggle at how cute you look.
✎You better be prepared to listen to him rant to you about the great red haired pirate Shanks. That pirate is his idol and everything so you better grow to love his father figure just as much as he does.
✎Luffy would do anything to protect you and the straw hats, forcing his bodies to withstand any environment, fighting any enemy he has too just to see you all alive and healthy
✎If you ever get sick or injured, he would blame himself as the captain and be confused with it all needing the others to explain what's happening to him, wanting to do anything for you to get better
✎Would treasure you laying on his stomach, chest, shoulder anywhere he can keep you close.
✎Oddly gets aroused when you run your fingers along his skin, especially on his chest where he has his scar and under his eye with his little scar then.
✎Being honest this guy would lick food off of your mouth if you left it there when eating. Especially whip cream and chocolate because he wanted to "Test" if your food tasted any different
✎He would kiss you any chance he gets, lips, cheeks, forehead, neck, arm, stomach, anywhere. He's just obsessed with being close to you.
✎The only arguments with him would be you telling him to not do something so crazy and dangerous, even though it always ends up with his flashing his iconic smile and running off to do it anyway.
✎Now hear him out when he suggests you wear a summer outfit like him. So you can either wear a red summer dress to match his shirt, flip flops to match his or shorts and a summer shirt like him, He would find it so cool and want to show you both off to Zoro.
✎Monkey D. Garp would lowkey love you being with his grandson, seeing how much you make him smile and see his wife and him in you two, feeling soft inside his tough exterior.
✎More private time with Luffy would be very playful and sloppy, probably filled with random chuckles and smiles. Most likely in his room on the ship or up high on the ship where the crew wouldn't notice you both.

A new version of the RLS siblings au, where they still get separated but also don't(?). So, everything happens like the RLS au until the storm, but Robin, who stops at the East Blue, during this months gets a boat and contact Law, furtonately, so both chose to meet in a island in the East Blue. When she is going in the boat, she finds Define and Sanji on the rock and gets happy but also worried.
She saves them and takes them to the island, Law helps Zeff and is so happy to know he didn't actually lose his family again. But they talk and, it's dangerous for Sanji to stay with them, with any of them, because even Robin and Law together is dangerous for each other. So R and L asks Zeff if their little brothers can stay with him, they will talk via Den Den Mushi and send money if needed. Zeff agrees and after some time, both blondes go, even if the two siblings want to protect and be with their baby bro.
Robin still works for Crocodile, because she will have money so she can send it for her lil brothers and protect them from afar. Law stays as the captain of the Heart Pirates. They talk via Den Den Mushi once a week, happy that at least they're alive.
Then, the Garp and ASL coming happens, because Zeff knows it will be good for the eggplant to have friends. Sanji tells his siblings the news excited later, and if they're feeling protective? Yes.
ASL start dating Sanji, but since they never where there when their boyfriend was talking with his siblings, they don't really know he has a sister and a brother. Until when the Baratie stays for a couple weeks in Foosha. When the day he talks with Robin and Law come, he has to explain why he will not stay with them all the day.
So, after this, everytime he calls R and L, the ASL know they need to let him. (They appear sometimes, when Robin and Law hear their voices)
These poor kids, Jesus. These poor kids.
Robin and Law have already called to make plans to meet up on an island in the East Blue when Robin is sailing by a rock. There's a very familiar voice screaming for help. She sees a blond and starved head peeking over the side that reminds her of her baby brother so she stops and helps them.
Except it is her baby brother who is starved and blond with an old man who is missing a leg. She's holding him as he cries and holds onto her and Zeff is confused that the Devil Child Nico Robin is holding the eggplant he gave a leg for because they have the same dream. Robin is thanking him and promising their brother will help as thanks as well for taking care of Sanji.
So when they arrive at the island and meet at the same dock as Law and the Heart Pirates. Bepo immediately takes Zeff much to his confusion as Law pats Sanji's head and follows the mink. Hours later Law finds Robin and Sanji, sitting on the deck of his ship with Sanji in her lap. Law sits next to them and takes Sanji into his who is tired and nodding off as Law scans and checks him over with his fruit. Once Sanji is asleep Robin and Law confirm that he can't come with them. Not because they don't want him, they do, they absolutely do, but it's just not safe and they're not even traveling together because it's not safe.
So the next day when they're explaining this to Zeff and Sanji and asking the man to watch over their brother for them? Sanji has his fists clenched and is crying quietly. They explain that it's just because they want him safe and for him to be safe, for all of them to be safe it means to be separated. Zeff is, was, the captain of the Cook Pirates so he can teach Sanji more about cooking so Sanji agrees. Robin leaves them with her denden and they both promise to call and send money. And they do. They make good on their word. Zeff is at least thankful the kid still has some people from before him to talk to, because he doesn't tell shit to him.
Then Garp starts coming to visit around the time Sanji mentions his sister is now working for a warlord of the sea and his brother has gone back to the North Blue to get prepared to enter the Grand Line. How they got to and from the East Blue Zeff doesn't know and doesn't ask. Not his business. Garp also brings kids with him, all around the eggplant's age so no he has friends to play with. So Sanji is hanging out with them and telling his siblings all about them. Law and Robin aren't exactly pleased to hear about a Vice Admiral hanging out with their baby brother but they don't have much of a choice.
Then a few years later they hear about Sanji dating all the kids Garp brought with him. Law is audibly banging his head on the desk while Robin giggles and says they will certainly have their work cut out for them. Sanji sighs and asks them not to threaten them too badly but Robin points out that he's the baby. Sanji sighs deeply.
And then when the Baratie is docked for few weeks in Foosha Sanji spends most of his time off ship. Except for a day when he has to go back to talk to his family and ASL are whining that he has to go back and mess up they're cuddle pile. They're also asking why he has to go back. Sanji realizes he's never told them, his boyfriends about his siblings and that he talks to them weekly. They ask why they don't just visit and Sanji says it's complicated.
So he goes to make the call and ASL follow him and wait inside the Baratie while he makes the call and talk to Zeff, Patty, and Carne. Eventually over time they will peak into the room and ask questions. Robin and Law don't talk to them as ASL do not talk to them. Are they protective? Hell yes.
They will give the shovel talks when they meet in person.

EPISODE 7 - tangerine trees + marmalade skies (pending Sanji's approval)
Episode 6 right over here
Buggy's improv singing skills are unmatched
Sanji is weirdly confident in Nami's character despite only knowing her as a traitor who stole their map and tried to kill Luffy.
They really smoothed out Bellemere's character in the show, which is a disappointment. She's a very tough, abrasive woman who wants to build a family for herself - likely to make impulsive, dumb decisions (like taking in two kids she found on a battlefield) and I wish we saw more of that
Was Arlong Park always meant to be like a theme park? Bc it's quite an eff you to Buggy
I like that Nami was just predisposed to theft. She always saw it as the answer to her problems, even before the traumatic incident
The pinwheels are sweet but they're supposed to be the Genzo's thing. So now we miss out on a) Luffy's weird obsession with the pinwheel in a hat and b) the adorableness of the scene with Genzo and baby Nami
Changing it so neither Nojiko nor the Coco Villagers know about Nami's plan takes away from her character. It also takes away from the village, bc in the anime they knew Nami was sacrificing everything for them, so they played along to protect her. In general, they downplay how the villagers are always looking out for each other, which is important bc Nami at first appears to be the exception - a girl who only cares about herself - but it's revealed that she is just like them. It was always a community trying to help each other - trying to hide the girls bc they knew Bellemere couldn't pay, trying to get them out safe, etc
Zeff and Garp have more chemistry than is entirely necessary. Why do so many ppl in this show have such powerful divorce energy?? Zeff's wink? Like, what the hell guys
"you don't know women. They never say what they mean" <- Sanji, please stop.
Zoro cutting off Luffy's usual introduction with the lie about being pirate hunters, and Luffy going along with it?? That is a display of trust, right after Zoro's almost death, is so good.
Sanji's flirtatious nature and cooking ability gets the Strawhats a win in the form of intel from Nojiko. I'm glad he has this chance to demonstrate how his skill set fits in with the others, esp since his flirting is embarrassing bad still
I like that Zoro comes onto the roof to talk to Luffy like, "convince me I'm wrong. Nami says she wants nothing to do with us, she left us. I don't have your faith in ppl, so convince me that you believe in her so I can too"
Arlong taking offense at the marine dude's comment about being "smarter than ppl give you credit for" is clearly a tactic he uses often. Why am I not surprised?
Helmeppo is so offended when Koby implies that he and Luffy are similar lol
How does Zeff know Luffy is Garp's grandkid?? How is this common knowledge?
I love the comparisons between Luffy and Gold Roger. It's cheesy and obvious (esp in the anime) but I still really enjoy it
Nami is one of the smartest ppl in the show, esp in terms of street smarts, so the fact that she falls for Arlong's promise is just so much worse. It was the one bit of childish hope and navite she let herself have. It was her stupid dream - the kind she made fun of everyone else for having.
(I am having a moment of reckoning with Nami as a character. Sorry girl for being mean earlier)
Nami's moment with Luffy at the end is so beautiful. Luffy admitting he doesn't know what's going on, he doesn't know the whole story, but that he doesn't need to. He's just on her side. And then he puts his hat on her and we all cry with Nami. He goes and rounds up the other Strawhats, and they don't need an explanation either. Their captain calls, so they're on it
Season finale coming right up!

Throwing one last one in, it’s pretty self indulgent. No no, not for me, for YOU. Yes, all you lovely writers!
I wanna hear how you think your favourite character(s) cuddle (or “sleep in the same bed as” if you can’t see them cuddling) their s/o! Scenario or headcanon, doesn’t matter, I wanna hear how you think they cuddle!
It can be anyone, I’m asking for YOUR faves! Take a moment to indulge lovelies 🥰
Thank you thinking about us and letting us do some self indulging. I know my fellow writers really could use that and we should self indulge now and then. Now he hard part comes, though. Which of my many favorite characters should I write? XD It took some time, but I finally decided who to write. This became more of HC about how they show affection, but there are cuddles in there too, because CUDDLES.
This was written by Didi [@usopp-writes]
Enjoy <3
Haruta, Zoro, Whitebead and Garp x GN reader (separately) SFW Word count: 962
Tumblr media
Haruta
When you’re alone, he’ll lean against you, holding your waist and placing his head on your chest.
Whenever you’re sitting next to each other – mostly when eating together – he’ll sit as close as possible and you can feel his hand on your thigh now and then.
Haruta loves to come up to you and hug you for a long while, before letting go. He’s very physical affectionate.
Cuddling on deck is a common activity for the two of you.
Pillow and blanket hugger. When you sleep in same bed as him, you either get used to it being warm due to all the pillows and blankets or that he steals your stuff.
If you don’t mind it warm, he’ll hold you close to his body at first, but then shift position and becomes the little spoon.
He loves feeling you next to him and he will hold your arm or get your fingers tangled, just to be able to be closer to you.
He often suffers from insomnia and will wake up after a few hours and get up, but make sure to tug you in, so it feels as if he’s’ still there.
Will come back in the early morning to snuggle and cuddle with you again. He might even fall asleep again.
On nights he has been able to sleep through, you’ll wake up with him half-way on top of you. He’s very clingy at night.
Zoro
Is too busy training to show any affection during the day, though can be talked into a hug.
Loves it when you sit next to him when he’s napping. His arm will be draped around you if you do.
Isn’t one to initiate PDA or to hug you, but on the other hand doesn’t mind when you do.
He will, however, more than often give your shoulder a soft pat or squeeze your hand for a brief moment, as to tell you he’s still there for you.
Doesn’t care if you sleep in same bed or not, but definitely likes it more that you are in his bed than not in it.
Will be the big spoon, holding you protectively in his arms.
If you face him, he’ll kiss you and pull you as close to him as possible.
He will make sure you’re comfortable before falling asleep.
The entire time he’s sleeping next to you, he’ll be holding you in one way or another. He’s extremely protective over you and just wants to make sure you feel safe with him.
He gets up way before you, but will tug you in properly, so you get enough rest.
Whitebeard
Once you’re done with all your work, he expects you to come to him and sit on his lap.
He’ll gently shield you from his ‘sons’ with his arm, before listening to how your day has been.
Will lift you up to give you kisses all over your face.
For a man his size, he is rather gentle with you, making sure you are safe around him, when he showers you in his love and admiration.
You’ll feel a hand gently patting your head or a finger rubbing your back, whenever he feels the need to touch you in some way.
Doesn’t care what others (his ‘sons’) thinks about all the attention and affection he showers you in and it’s a lot. Be prepared for him lifting you up and place you on his shoulder when he feels the need to feel you close.
At night, you’ll be placed on top of him, just above his heart. You can hear it beating underneath you, a steady beat that will help you drift off.
His hand is placed above you, being your blanket.
He’ll make sure you’re comfortable and will go to the end of the world to make you comfortable, as long as you’re right next to him that is.
You’ll feel him all around you all the time during the night, due to him using his Haki unconsciously, so he knows you’re with him when he wakes up.
Garp
Surprise hugs and face nuzzled into your shoulders are to be expected. He can’t help but love to annoy you with it, because he knows you do like the attention he gives you.
Will make you sit on his lap, while he makes his reports or whenever he feels like it, sometimes feeding you crackers.
He doesn’t care if you have done your work or not. When he wants to spend time with you, he’ll just order someone else to finish your work.
Is definitely the one acting like a child when he wants to cuddle or snuggle with you and he will pout if you deny him your time and affection.
At night, he’ll first lie in bed face to face with you, admiring your beauty, while gently stroking your back and having your legs tangled together.
He’ll make sure to caress your entire body before you get to sleep. It’s his way to shower you in love and make sure you relax and feel good before sleep takes you.
Will then pull you close to his chest, making you feel safe and secure.
Don’t expect to sleep in his arms all night. He tosses around a lot in his sleep.
Sometimes you’ll wake up on him, while he holds you tightly.
Will spend some time in the morning with you in bed, cuddling close and give you a soft start of the day, no matter how busy the day will be.

"WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON, JIJI?!" { oh ouch okay right before Marineford from almost-not-quite-yet marine traitor Buggy- }
@indomiitas — MARINE BUGGY .
Tumblr media
ლ.    When would the nightmare end ?
His footsteps finally came to a halt, his hands in tight fists by his side, almost trembling from the pressure. Whose side ?   The brat had the damn nerve to ask whose side ?
“ This is a matter of our duty and justice, brat ! ”    Garp spat out vehemently, cold and harsh as if he believed them  ( he didn’t  he had to ).  Tilting his head back, but not enough to meet Buggy’s eyes. He didn’t want to look at the betrayal and disbelief he knew would be there. It hurt. It hurt more than it had any damn right to. But he refused to waver. He wouldn't be called a hero if he couldn't keep steady when he wanted to do anything but.
“ Ace knew damn well what he was signing up for when he chose to become a pirate, and we both know it. ”
The irony of the situation was far from lost. How could it be, when just the other day he was in Sengoku’s office, screaming and raging himself ?   The same sentiment he expressed now mirrored that of then, except Sengoku's words had been far heavier. Weighed down by the knowledge that he'd known. Of course, he’d been aware of his betrayal. He always had been, and Garp wished he hadn’t looked so disappointed.
Sengoku would spare them the consequences, continue to pretend as though he was oblivious to their betrayal, because that was the most he could do. Neither of them could prevent Ace’s fate anymore. Not when the world was waiting with bated breath. Not when the Government knew of the truth.
“ You knew that this would’ve been the outcome. There is nothing more for us to do, ”    he continued even as the words felt like tar in his throat. Choking him. Really, he just wanted to laugh. How he just wanted to laugh and avoid reality in it.
He was about to go to war to have the right to kill his grandson. He had no idea if Luffy was safe after the stunts he’d pulled. And Buggy looked a hair away from throwing the past two decades into the sea, because he didn’t understand.
He had to understand. Garp had to make him understand. He was already going to lose Ace, he couldn’t lose another one of his brats. Did Buggy think Roger wanted the both of them to die ?
( Roger would have just saved them both himself. He’d never been afraid of being that selfish, the bastard. “ Save my— ”   don’t think of him. )
“ I won’t force your hand in participation, but you will not interfere, understood ?  That is an order, ”   His voice was deathly serious. Strict and commanding in all the ways he never was. It crawled at his skin, his body and mind wanting nothing more than to gag and reject it. But Garp refused to let it falter for even a second.
Buggy would hate him, he knew, and he wished that it didn’t tear further at his already scarred heart. Buggy would hate him, but at least he’d be alive. He’d be safe —  protected in the way he’d failed to with Ace and Luffy.
He had to stay strong, for both of their sakes.
...But what if he did so in a different way ?  What if he listened ?   What if he followed ?   What if he turned his back on the Marines, a traitor-hero ?   He could. He’d already entertained the thought more times than he was proud to admit. He could bring Ace out of Impel Down; he was long acquainted with the warden and staff. They would never see it coming, trusting him after all he’d done for them, after he’d nearly single-handedly filled half their prison. It wasn’t impossible.
Except it was. Even regardless of how the thought of betraying their trust —  Magellan, Sengoku, Tsuru, Kuzan  — made him sick, he was old. Strong, yes, but he was far past his prime. He couldn’t take on the three admirals or Sengoku while trying to protect Ace and Buggy. And how doubtlessly they’d be hunted. Ruthlessly, before the public could get word that the Navy Hero turned on the marines. Because it would have to be kept a secret, lest the world lose faith in them.
( Most days, it was easy to forget how suffocated it could feel. It wasn’t then. He loved the marines, he loved his duty. But the cold apathy of the Government was something that would forever disgust him. He didn’t do it for them. He did it for the people they protected. )
Tumblr media
“ I know you're not an idiot, Buggy. So don't choose now to start acting like one, ”   he said heavily as he kept his back straight and facing towards the brat he'd raised for the past twenty years,   “ Don’t do anything rash. Or I’ll be the one to capture you myself. ”
It was a threat, but maybe an empty one. He wasn’t sure if he could do it, if it came to it. Wasn’t sure if he could bear knowing another death of his family was on his hands. Yet he couldn’t get rid of the image of the brat dead on the ground —  magma, ice, light, poison, shot or decapitated with haki, there were so many ways for things to go wrong —  hands reaching towards Ace seconds too late, as Garp just watched. Would he watch as they killed both his grandsons ?  Or would he act ?
He didn’t know, nor did he want to find out. By the sea, don’t make him find out, no matter how selfish it was to ask.

I almost forgot about that fanfic appreciation week, but I wanted to at least do something for it! So here's a rec list for some of my favorite fics in the one piece fandom!
This list is not at all exhaustive btw (there's still loads of other fics in the fandom that I love), so please don't feel bad if you weren't included! Also if anyone wants more recommendations from me, you can check out my bookmarks on my ao3!
Who Knows (what could happen) by Chromi
Rating: T
Pairing: Masked Deuce/Portgas D. Ace
Summary: For as long as he could remember, he had wanted to set out to sea as an adventurer. His father, unfortunately, dictated that he was to follow the family tradition and become a doctor instead.
Following a lifetime of hurt and sorrow at the hands of his family, he eventually breaks free and takes to the sea alone - determined to keep it that way. Fate has other ideas in store for him; fate crosses his path with Portgas D. Ace's, a brand new pirate.
And what does he hate more than pirates?
Nothing.
Or: from Sixis to the Moby Dick - the lives of the Spade pirates.
First Time by Chromi
Rating: E
Pairing: Masked Deuce/Portgas D. Ace
Summary: "Because it is Ace, and it will only ever be Ace, that he wants to see like this, and he wants to be responsible for unravelling him down to his core and loving him to his very center."
In which Ace and Deuce go all the way for the first time.
@chromiwrites
Seabound by AnkhPosts
Rating: T
Pairing: Masked Deuce/Portgas D. Ace
Summary: Ace is a selkie, making one of his periodic stops on land to catch a breather and get some ridiculously tasty human food, maybe see some sights if there are any. His pelt is safely hidden, he'll stay a day or two at most and be on his way.
Deuce is a mer, alone on the sea and traveling as he pleases for the first time in his life, and while he might not be terribly interested in actually interacting with humans it's hard not to see them as fascinating.
Ace meets Deuce. Deuce meets Ace. Neither knows the other isn't human.
@ankhposts
Death is only the beginning by Chizyk
Rating: T
Pairing: Marco the Phoenix/Portgas D. Ace
Summary: “Ankhreshet?” he whipped his head round at the sound of a raspy voice so fast he almost got whiplash. He could feel his body going completely cold as he saw the mummy’s empty eye sockets staring right at him.
@chizyk
I'm Still Here (part of a series) by theprodigypenguin
Rating: M
Pairing: Masked Deuce/Portgas D. Ace (also Izou/Sabo later in the series)
Summary: "When I do die, don't bother burying me in that empty grave. Put my body in a boat and set me out to sea. Let me sleep eternal on the ocean that my father loved so much; because before everything else in this world, I am a child of the sea, and when I die, I want to return to it. Put me in a boat and set it aflame so I can go down in the same fire I lived."
Forget-Me-Not Fall by theprodigypenguin
Rating: M
Pairing: Izou/Sabo
Summary: “Most of the nobles I’ve met tonight look meticulously put together. They look like they were built to portray a certain image paralleled a hundred times over. People who were copied and pasted. Flawless clothes, flawless faces, flawless makeup, flawless hair.”
“Not me though,” Sabo stated, and Izou hummed.
“It’s comforting.”
“Huh?”
Izou met Sabo’s eye. “Everyone else in this place hides their worst attributes with a mask they modified to fit their faces. They don’t seem to comprehend that those perfect masks only make their worst characteristics more pronounced and defined.” His expression was terribly gentle as his eyes wandered across Sabo’s face. “It’s comforting to be approached by someone not trying to be something else.”
Sabo tilted his head. “How do you know I’m not manipulating you like some common Goa aristocrat?”
Izou smiled. “There are a few reasons.”
@theprodigypenguin

Rating: E
Pairing: Marco the Phoenix/Portgas D. Ace

Pairing: Marco the Phoenix/Portgas D. Ace

The results are not what they were expecting.

He just wants to live-- and meet his long time pen pal, Phoenix.
Marco knows that being an actor is hard, so he takes the little things when he can: writing his pen pal (and honestly one of his best friends) Fire Fist, flirting with the cute new waiter at his favorite café-- not that he has a chance after a disaster on social media. “I thought you would be smarter than this, Portgas. You’ve never tried to fight another Yonko before, your bounty won’t matter much when you lose.”
Ace barks a laugh, his teeth bared in a facsimile of a grin, “You must have missed out on the brawl I had with Big Mom after she sent two of her daughters and a son for me to consider marrying. This is a bit more personal than that.”

Blue moon (series) by de_Winter
Rating: T-M
Pairing: Marco the Phoenix/Portgas D. Ace
Summary: Urban fantasy AU, werewolf Marco and witch Ace
Red Velvet by de_Winter
Rating: E
Pairing: Marco the Phoenix/Portgas D. Ace
Summary: Ace already knew their routine by heart, just from observing them for a couple of mornings when he had early delivery, and from Izou’s daily long winded—and probably sexually frustrated—rants. Big Blond would come out of the bakery wearing a shirt too tight for him and too thin for the weather as soon as he was done setting up the tables inside the storefront, holding a take out cup and a small box in his big hands. They looked really, pleasantly big from where Ace was standing, and he honestly wished he wasn't standing that far away.
@dee-de-winter
We'll Look Back and Laugh at Ourselves by JuHuaTai
Rating: M
Pairing: Marco the Phoenix/Portgas D. Ace, minor Gol D. Roger/Portgas D. Rouge
Summary: Between his new boyfriend and his workaholic boss, Marco felt like he was surrounded by family issues of the father and son dispute variety. Maybe it was just a coincidence.
Or maybe he should've listened to the office gossip more. Maybe then he'd figure it out sooner.
Gratitude of the Phoenix (part of a series) by JuHuaTai
Rating: M
Pairing: Marco the Phoenix/Portgas D. Ace
Summary: [Based on 'The Crane Wife' Folklore]
One day, he saved a bird from freezing to death in a trap. Then, a stranger saved him from suffering the same fate, and a request to stay for one night turned into having someone to fill the void left in the small cottage and in his heart ever since his brothers left.
These two incident doesn’t seem to be related to one another, but they both changed Ace’s life in ways he could never have imagined.
Watashitachi wa Roger kaizoku desu (we still stand proud) by stereden
Rating: T
Pairing: None (heavy focus on Buggy, Shanks, and Crocus)
Summary: The Roger Pirates disappeared after their Captain's death, and were happy enough to let the Marines forget about them.
Until the Marines decide to execute their Captain's son, that is.
@stereden
This Bites! by Xomniac
Rating: M
Pairing: None (heavy focus on a main character oc and the strawhat pirates)
Summary: Sea Kings, sea-sickness, sunburns, a 95% genocidal Navy and more than a million and one other assorted ways to die. It's official: Being inserted into an anime sucks ass... Buuut I guess it could be worse. I mean, look on the bright side: At least I'm sailing with the future king of the pirates.
A Fortune that Never Grows Old by imperialmint
Rating: E
Pairing: Marco the Phoenix/Portgas D. Ace
Summary: It's one thing to get butterflies in your stomach when you seen an attractive person but it's another thing entirely for Marco to want to stomp out a courtship ritual and lay foundations for a nest when he meets the navy's new (hot) secret weapon.
@imperialmint
Most of the authors on this list have many other excellent one piece fics I'd definitely suggest checking out! Enjoy your reading and try to show them all some love if you can!

Could you please do hc's for Ace, Luffy and Garp where Ace's n Luffy's sister is a marine but like. At the battle of marinefold, just when Akainu is about to kill her brothers she just
Hits him with a sea stone mallet as hard as she can, tells him that she quits, then she grabs the brothers and just makes a run for it. No hesitation, only mild panic
Heyya!!🍀 this was really fun to write and I hope I did it justice, also became all inclusive with the characters since it was the same situation 😅 hope you enjoy~
(Female Pronouns)
Headcanons: Ace, Luffy, Garp x Sister!/Grandaughter! Reader - Saving her family at Marineford
Tumblr media
Portgas D. Ace, Monkey D. Luffy, Monkey D. Garp
🍖🔥👊Growing up alongside her brothers was boisterous to say the least. Starting with Ace, then Luffy and even adding Sabo to mix... over the course of Garp's hellish training to become Marines, Luffy and Ace protested and claimed to be aiming to be pirates. Of course a very confident {Name} always boasted about being the one to catch them as a Marine.
🍖🔥👊However the moment she discovered that Ace would be executed for the world to see...her loyalty faltered. The loyalty to the Marines but never to her family, and while she remained true to the Marines and fought off the pirates with everything she had, {Name} was pulling punches here and there, even 'accidentally' letting pirates get past her. In the chaotic state of the battlefield who could blame her? All she hoped for was Ace to get saved.
🍖🔥👊Of course she felt reassured considering Luffy came onto the scene, no less from a warship falling from the sky. Seriously trust him to steal the show like that, what she didn't expect was the face off between Luffy and Garp...and the fact that probably out of everyone, Garp wanted to see Ace saved the most.
🍖🔥👊In an instant she was across the battlefield to help him up to his feet after being hit aside by Luffy (where was that speed when fighting the pirates trying to save Ace I wonder) "Grandpa are you alright?" She asked though the answer came when seeing just how much relief he had on his face.
🍖🔥👊Of course a situation even more chaotic occured, that being Sengoku turning into a giant gold buddha and trying to swat Luffy, Ace and No. 3 like insects. And resulting in the execution stand being shattered. {Name's} stomach churned, her chest was heavy with fear of the worst possible scenario...until those bright and intense flames covered the surrounding area to reveal Ace and Luffy safe and sound. She wanted to run and hug them, just cry from relief. But not now, they need to escape.
🍖🔥👊{Name} and Garp looked at eachother heaving a sigh of relief... "I think Lady Luck has a crush on Luffy, who else can challenge three admirals and live to tell the tale? Not to mention taking a direct hit from Sengoku" {Name} chuckled nervously, and of course they were laughing about this until the two of them found their faces kissing the ground with Sengoku's hands on their heads.
🍖🔥👊Even from the ground she watched as Luffy and Ace were making their way to safety. Until dread creeps in every fbre of her being when Luffy is distracted, going to pick something up. "Luffy! Don't-!" {Name} protested with the feeling of Sengoku's grip tightening in keeping her down.
🍖🔥👊That instant she can see Akainu gunning for Luffy's head. With Garps help {Name} breaks free of Sengoku's grip, snatching a large seastone hammer away from one of the vice admirals and praying she will make it in time. Even with her speed, there was doubt.
🍖🔥👊Even by a hair, she needs to make it. {Name} can see him approaching and she is as well. Every part of her screams with the need to protect them, her family will always outweigh everything else. She didn't care for the consequences, not when her brother was about to lose his life.
🍖🔥👊 Ace instinctually covers Luffy, awaiting the inevitable. Ace smiles, it is a fate he gladly accepts if he knows Luffy will be alright.
🍖🔥👊 Akainu gets ready to strike and spots {Name} coming in front of him, arrogantly assuming that she is going to get Luffy while he takes care of Ace. His focus now, is on executing Ace.
🍖🔥👊 "No one gets to hurt my idiot brothers!!" {Name} screams, going past Luffy and Ace as she strikes Akainu down, with as much strength as she can muster. Fear is a powerful thing when turned into strength, she wanted to protect them and so she did... by practically infusing an admiral into the floor with a seastone mallet that had him blackout for a few seconds.
🍖🔥👊Dropping the hammer, she looked at her brothers in absolute disbelief that she just did that. Along with seeing their current conditions, Ace was strewn over her shoulder, Luffy held under arm as she ran for dear life ignoring all of their protests about their reputations being tarnished if seen being carried by their sister. "SHUT UP AND LET ME CARRY YOU!"
🍖🔥👊 The sudden rise of screaming on the battlefield left the ground shaking. Cheers for Ace and Luffy being saved along with the hateful cries of the Marines who were screaming words of anger at {Name's} betrayal.
🍖🔥👊{Name} flashed a massive grin "I QUIT! I'M BECOMING A PIRATE" she declared proudly
🍖🔥👊Honestly {Name} was a sight for sore eyes and the fact that she saved both of them was truly a miracle. Of course they thanked her and complained over the fact that she made such a scene when running away.
🍖🔥👊The moment they are temporarily in the clear, their options for escape are very limited so when a submarine is there offering refuge...it's tempting. Of course {Name} dubiously eyes Law until they hear mention of Akainu, her brothers are thrown on board like a sack of potatoes followed by {Name}
🍖🔥👊She is very wary of Law and seriously finds him shady.
🍖🔥👊However tables quickly turned when Law started flirting with {Name}, suddenly Luffy and Ace were up and about. Brother protection squad and interrogation happens all because Law made a comment about her being good looking.
🍖🔥👊After Whitebeard's death, Ace truly needed the support to deal with losing the man who was a father to him. Having Luffy and {Name} truly helped him through this tough time.
🍖🔥👊Despite the outcome, it was not the worst and she was happy that she could protect her brothers... of course after her whole announcement about being a pirate there was a bit of an argument over who's crew she would be joining. (Even Law piped up an invitation for her to become a Heart pirate).

How do you think the ASL brothers would change if it was Ace that was separated and Sabo stayed with Luffy on Dawn Island?
Hey there! I’m so sorry for taking my time with this ask! It’s a really great question and I wanted to take my time thinking about and typing out my answer...and well. It got LONG ^ ^;;;;;
Bc oh man do I think things would change a LOT, but in order to answer this question, let’s first sorta picture the scenario itself. How did Ace end up the one separated?
This could go a number of ways, but here’s one that comes to mind.
~~
The boys are running back from causing mischief in High Town, when Ace overhears some gossip.
Did you hear, the marines are coming! Apparently they found a terrible, terrible criminal, hiding right here in Goa, and they’re coming to get rid of him before the Celestial Dragons arrive!
A terrible criminal?
Oh dear, what terrible crime did they commit?
Well, nothing, apparently, or at least nothing yet.
What do you mean?
They say he’s the son of the most wanted, most terrible man in history. But don’t worry, the marines’ll take care of him before--
Ace feels like the world’s suddenly gone black and white. He feels numb, barely hearing Sabo shouting at him to hurry, barely registers Luffy tugging his hand and looking up at him with worry.
They’ve come for him. He should have known. Gramps may have tried to hide him, but there’s no escaping Gol D. Roger’s infamy.
Ace knows once he would have sneered, said See, Gramps? I knew this would happen. But now, he feels fear.
Ace doesn’t fear death, and will look it in the eye and punch it when it comes for him. But fear grips him now, as he stares blankly into the campfire Sabo’s set up, finally registering that Luffy’s calling his name and still tugging at his arm.
He doesn’t fear death for himself. But when they come for him, to end his life because of his blood, will they spare Sabo and Luffy? Will they spare the brothers of the Pirate King’s son?
Somehow, Ace doubts it.
And so he knows he’s got to go. He’s got to leave now, before they find him, before they find Sabo and Luffy, before they can steal away his family.
An adult Ace, looking back regretfully, would lament the timing of his brash actions. But Ace had never been a thinker, more of a doer, and he couldn’t bear the thought of losing his brothers--even now, he can’t.
And he couldn’t have known back then that the island had had two boys considered the sons of the worst criminals in history.
So he doesn’t blame his younger self for writing a sloppy letter, tucking it under Sabo’s head, and then fleeing into the night to steal a boat that he’d use to leave the island on come daybreak. Running away, leaving his brothers behind, making Sabo vow to continue looking after Luffy like he always had, until one day, the three of them could be reunited once more.
Young Ace doesn’t even know what a Celestial Dragon is. All he knows is that an enormous ship, the likes of which he’d never seen before, is approaching--
And then everything is FIRE, and then, blank.
Dragon and the Revolutionaries had been in the area, but not just to rescue people from the Gray Terminal fire. They had intel, and Dragon had reason to believe that the marines may have found Luffy, and his connection to Dragon. The commander of the Revolutionary Army kept his distance from his son, but he wasn’t going to let the child get slaughtered for his relation to a father he’d never even met.
He’d briefly run into Ace while he was stealing a boat. He hadn’t stopped the child, but had been curious about his raw desperation, his bitterness towards his blood, and his determination to protect his found family.
Dragon is surprised to find the boy in the wreckage of an utterly destroyed sailboat.
The boy is terribly burned, and has no memory of anything, not even his own name--but he is immediately terrified at the suggestion that they return him to the island, shouting that he doesn’t know why, but he can’t go back there, they’ll find Them and kill Them if I go back there, and it’ll all be my fault--!
He decides to let the boy stay. His name is Ace, they think, the name found among his belongings. With the Celestial Dragons come and gone, marine presence on the island also fades, and Dragon concludes that Luffy is safe for the time being. He sends a coded message to Garp to be careful, and then disappears back to Baltigo with his new charge.
After regaining his memories, adult Ace grudgingly admits that while he still wishes it’d never happened, there were some perks to memory loss.
For one, he’d completely forgotten that he was the son of the late Pirate King. He still had a weird fixation towards fathers, but after getting attached to Dragon, and Dragon accepting his protege’s need for a father figure, the desperation fades.
While not the best at studies, Ace is physical strong, and takes to Revolutionary Army training like he was born for it. He masters both Armament and Observation Haki by fourteen, and with his private training sessions with Dragon, is becoming terrifyingly proficient with Conqueror’s Haki as well.
Ace is still learning, but the power he exudes when unleashing Conqueror’s Haki makes Dragon curious (and some of their peers, nervous). He’s only ever heard of one person exhibiting the kind of power Ace seems to have the potential for.
There are also other perks to being a member of the Revolutionary Army. Dragon isn’t the most wanted criminal in history for no reason. The location of the Army headquarters in Baltigo is a tightly kept secret, one that the World Government has desperately been searching for ever since it was built, but to no avail.
Even as the Marines track the rumors of Gol D. Roger’s child, as long as Ace remains in Baltigo, it’s like he vanished into thin air. And should they have discovered Headquarters, the Pirate King’s son would have been the least of their concerns.
And so Ace grows strong, no longer shackled by self-hatred of his blood, but also haunted by nameless whispers that keep him up at night, a sense of foreboding and aching longing that he’s forgetting something vital about himself, something that he both needs to remember, and doesn’t dare to touch.
~~
On Dawn Island, on that fateful day, Sabo wakes up to find a letter written in a child’s familiar sloppy hand. He tries not to panic, knowing that Ace’s long gone, and tries to think rationally on how he should move next. Even with Ace’s clumsy words, Sabo understands what his brother had been trying to say.
They’d discovered Ace’s parentage. Ace felt that he would endanger Sabo and Luffy by staying with them. So Ace left the island early, by himself, entrusting Sabo with their younger brother.
Sabo doesn’t know how he can possibly tell Luffy that Ace left to protect them, and to convince him that they need to stay.
And then Sabo suddenly doesn’t need to, because suddenly there’s shouting below the tree house, and Luffy’s blearily sitting up.
Ace is dead.
~~
Sabo tries to maintain a level headed facade in front of Luffy (even if he cries, screams his lungs out for Ace in private). He needs to support their little brother, now more than ever. Ace is gone. Ace entrusted Sabo with Luffy.
Sabo will not lose Luffy.
~~
~~
What next?
There’s the chance that Sabo would act as Ace did, continuing training and then leaving the island at seventeen as promised.
But what if he didn’t? Seventeen is a number that Sabo chose, because noble-born children become fully fledged nobles at eighteen. But now there are other, more important things at stake now.
Given what happened to Ace, and the possibility of the marines returning, Garp tells Sabo about Luffy’s heritage (he hadn’t told Luffy yet, at Ace’s request, Ace not wanting Luffy to hate himself as Ace did. Garp doubted Luffy would react that way to Dragon, but he lets Ace have this, this attempt at protecting his little brother).
Knowing that Luffy’s the son of a man rapidly growing to be as infamous as the Pirate King kicks Sabo’s overprotective instincts into overdrive.
Sabo will not lose Luffy.
From here out, there’s three possible routes. The first two routes assume that Sabo’s parents never end up coming for him (they forgot about their son for five years, who says they wouldn’t for more).
1) Pirates Route:
Sabo swallows his pride, and agrees to join Luffy’s crew, much to the younger’s delight. The thought of being captain of his own crew now seems pale in comparison to keeping Luffy safe and also keeping his last promise to his lost brother. And so Sabo vows to stay at Luffy’s side as his guardian. They leave the island to become pirates together.
2) Marines Route:
Sabo demands that Garp take him and Luffy to be trained as marines. Sabo feels nothing for disdain for both the marines and World Government, and has every intention of taking Luffy and ditching as soon as they’re safe. But right now they can provide several things that he wants and needs:
1) He feels it’s too dangerous to remain on Dawn Island with potential government eyes on them, and Garp is a relatively secure way of ensuring they can leave. They know too little about the outside world now, and carelessly leaving on a boat and getting blasted like Ace is the last thing they need.
2) He wants training for both himself and Luffy, not just combat, but on how to survive at sea. The marines, at least, should be able to provide plenty of that experience.
3) Sabo doesn’t want to be caught unawares ever again. Ace fled because he’d overheard a rumor. If Sabo had known, perhaps the outcome would have been different. Sabo’s always been the thinker, the planner among the brothers, and he wants information, especially if there’s a chance that the government will make a move on Luffy. Sabo’s goal is to work his way up the ranks until he not only has access, but is in charge of investigations hunting the Revolutionary Army, and more importantly to him, the existence and location of the Commander’s rumored child. As Chief of marine intel, Sabo will be able to control what information goes to the higher ups, and which information needs to be quietly eliminated.
(and if his investigations into the Revolutionary Army leads him to become curious about the powerful fire logia user who is their Chief of Staff...)
3) Royalty Route:
Sabo’s parents find him, shortly after Ace’s “death,” and demand he returns to High Town and his noble heritage. With Ace gone, abandoning Luffy to a life by himself isn’t an option, but neither is letting his little brother be killed. So Sabo decides that he’s got to do what he must. Protect Luffy at all costs.
He strikes a deal with his parents. He’ll return to them, and he’ll be their perfect little noble son, but ONLY with the condition that Luffy comes with them. His parents are unhappy with the deal, but grudgingly agree, warning that if Sabo doesn’t truly impress them, they have no problem with, ah, eliminating both Sabo and his tag along because they have Stelly as a perfectly viable replacement.
Sabo can excel when he puts his mind to it, and although inside he froths with rage and hatred, he will do anything to keep Luffy safe.
Luffy is his one and only saving grace who keeps him sane. Luffy, who is now trapped in this birdcage alongside Sabo, and it’s all Sabo’s fault. He’s called Sabo’s “servant,” despite being incapable of doing chores, and is ignored by the entire household other than Sabo.
And while Luffy’s clearly uncomfortable, he doesn’t complain. He senses Sabo’s pain, and his suffering, and takes it upon himself to soothe his older brother, to keep him company, to love him. Luffy will never leave here, if it means leaving Sabo. Because nothing is more terrible than being alone and Luffy knows that best.
So Sabo keeps moving forward, vowing to Ace every night that he’s going to protect Luffy, no matter what. If this is the hand that he’s been dealt, Sabo will just have to make do. Sabo wonders how far up the hierarchy he’ll have to climb in order to guarantee Luffy’s safety.
(or, Sabo eventually becomes King of Goa, and Luffy is his “servant.”)
~~
~~
Are just some possibilities I came up with! To anyone who made it to the bottom of this post, thanks for reading!
Do any of the three scenarios I came up with sound interesting? Which is your favorite/do you think is most likely? Should I write a follow up??

Uncharted Waters 34: A Warning to the People - The Good and the Evil
Tumblr media
Ao3 || Ko-Fi
Sabo couldn’t believe he’d forgotten his brothers for ten years. His brothers! The two boys that had taken him in despite him being a noble, had shown him what love and kindness were for the first time in his life.
The brothers he’d sworn to protect.
He had almost been too late to protect them from the worst of the worst.
He had to thank whatever god was out there that he had been the one in the control room when the call from Domino came in telling them what had happened, and asking for help. It had been at that moment, hearing the woman’s terrified voice, that had snapped him back into reality.
Ace was his brother - of course he had to go to Marineford and save him from execution!
And then when he’d seen Luffy pop up, and Akainu target him, Sabo knew he couldn’t stay in the shadows much longer.
“Ace,” Luffy croaked from under Sabo’s arm. “I think we’re dead.”
“You’re not dead, idiot, and neither am I,” Sabo retorted. “I know it’s all confusing, but I’ll tell you when we’re out of here and safe, I promise.”
“Okay,” Luffy mumbled in that soft, childlike voice of his, before he collapsed, becoming dead weight in Sabo’s arm.
Ace, for once, was keeping his mouth shut and was simply staring, wide-eyed, at Sabo, despite the pain in his face from Akainu’s burn.
“I’m alive, Ace. Aiko told me what was going on, and that triggered my memories.”
Ace’s eyes went even wider. “A-Aiko? You know - ”
“I’ll explain later, when we’re safe.”
Ace simply nodded, and collapsed to his knees in exhaustion.
“Dammit! I need to get you two to safety, but - ”
“Boy! I don’t know who you are, but thank you,” Whitebeard called across the battlefield. “Thank you for saving my son.”
Sabo flashed him a grin. “You’re welcome, old man!”
“Now hurry up and get them out of here!” Marco the Phoenix called, a brilliant blue flame on the field.
Garp was screaming, and Sabo thought he heard his name, but he made no move to double check.
Sabo could see the submarine bubbling beneath the surface in the distance. They hadn’t brought a ship with them, only Karasu, and he wasn’t going to be enough to carry everyone with them. Kenji, of course, had brought a portal with his crew, but with the weird shadow looming behind the tallest structure still standing, no one wanted to risk dealing with something worse than the government.
Oh man, how was he supposed to get them out of here? Swimming with two unconscious Devil Fruit users was a recipe for disaster, and it wasn’t like Sabo could fly!
“I do not know who you are, nor why you are defending Portgas D. Ace or Monkey D. Luffy, but I assure you, there is no escape for them!” Akainu roared from behind them. Sabo could already feel the heat from the magma tickling at the back of his neck.
“I will not allow you to take another step further!” Jinbei shouted, blocking Akainu’s fist. “Friend of Luffy and Ace - go!”
He had no choice. He had to jump.
With a gulp, Sabo did just that, leaping from the platform into the sea. He expected to hit the ice below, or get hit by an attack by one of the admirals, but it never came. Instead, he felt a set of talons digging into his jacket, flying him in the direction of the submarine that had broken through the surface of the water.
(He didn’t fully trust Trafalgar Law with his brothers’ lives, but he knew the importance of Dressrosa and its connections to the Underworld’s weapons problems. At this point, any ally was better than none.)
Who - or what - had grabbed him though?
He glanced up, staring at the large white bird on top of him. It was cold too - what sort of bird was cold like that?
Wait -
Monster Summoner Sakura - he recognized the epithet, he knew there was an agent on Luffy’s crew.
It must have been one of the monsters she could control.
Sabo grunted as he was dropped onto the deck of the submarine.
“Get those two prepped for surgery!” Law barked to his crew, who grabbed Ace and Luffy and pulled them inside, where he could see the small group of agents hovering in the hallway.
Toward the battlefield, he could see Koala with Jinbei and another man riding on the back of Karasu. The Whitebeard crew had distracted the admirals enough - for now - to get their group to safety.
“Alright. Straw Hat, Fire Fist, and Jinbei are the most critical,” Law said. “Akira and I will start with them for now. Anyone with minor injuries, see Bepo for bandages.”
Akira was another member of the Earth agents that had come to the battle. Sabo wasn’t sure what his real name was, but he sure was glad to have another doctor on board.
“I haven’t studied fishman biology yet,” Akira admitted, bandaging up a cut near his shoulder. “I’ll leave Jinbei to you, Law.”
Law nodded and slammed the door behind him. The submarine lurched as it moved, taking them under the waves.
Akira and Law moved swiftly through the hallway toward the operating room, pulling on a pair of gloves as they did so.
“Wait!” he gasped out when the operating room door began to swing closed. “Can I stay here with them?”
Akira and Law exchanged a glance, a wordless conversation between the two, before Law finally spoke.
“Fine. But out of our way. Get the patients prepped for surgery!”
Several of his crew members scampered through the room at his request, pulling out instruments and tools Sabo didn’t recognize.
Sabo turned away when Law stood in front of Jinbei and pulled out a scalpel. “You’re sure your commander can get us out of here safely, Akira?”
“Yes. As soon as Jean Bart gives the okay that we’re deep enough that light won’t be seen on the surface, the commander will get out back to Sabaody,” Akira confirmed. Sabo could see him inspecting the burns on Ace’s back. From Sabo’s vantage point, it looked like the large Whitebeard tattoo had completely burned off.
“Alright, Hotaru, bring me those bandages,” Akira continued. “And someone get him some anesthesia. We don’t want him waking up - because this is going to hurt.”
A dark, amused look crossed Law’s features.
“Oi, Sabo, what was it that made you want this job?” Akira questioned. Beneath the surgical mask, Sabo could tell he was frowning. “This certainly couldn’t have been the most fun assignment for you to take.”
Sabo’s eyes remained on Luffy and Ace. “Those two are my brothers.”
Silence fell across the operating room.
“What?” one of Law’s crew members finally asked. “Another brother? Are you Dragon’s son? Or Roger’s?”
“No, neither of them. I grew up on the same island they did. We became sworn brothers with a bottle of sake…” Sabo smiled faintly at the memory before he continued, voice more somber. “The truth is, I’ve had amnesia for the past ten years or so. I didn’t realize I was their brother until we got the message about the execution, and then it all came flooding back.”
Akira let out a low whistle, “It’s a miracle you were able to pull them away from Akainu. If he’d managed to get any more pressure on Ace’s back, his fist would have gone straight through. I don’t think he would have made it.”
Sabo could only shudder before the submarine began to rock violently.
“Captain Law, the sea is turning to ice around us!”
“Then go deeper! And the minute you give the go ahead, we’ll be fine!” Law barked, yet remained as stable as if he were on dry land while the polar bear mink nearby screamed about how the end was near.
“Hir - Akira!” the girl named Hotaru whimpered.
Akira rolled his eyes as he wrapped Ace in bandages. “We’re going to be fine, Hotaru. You heard Law, and you trust our commander, don’t you?”
Hotaru nodded, though Sabo could see her brow knit in worry.
“What made you two agree to this?” Sabo asked when Akira turned to the mysterious man brought in with Jinbei. “Didn’t you trust Dragon’s deal with Law over there? Or were you worried he wasn’t a good enough doctor?”
Law’s brow twitched in annoyance as he closed a wound on Jinbei’s chest.
“Nothing to do with Law,” Akira said. “Our commander needed a captain to go with him and I agreed. Besides, it’s not the first time I got swept up in Straw Hat Luffy’s nonsense.”
“It’s not?”
Akira snorted. “No. About a month ago, a group of us got sent to our base in Water 7 when we couldn’t contact them. Turned out to be CP9, and they were also after Nico Robin.” He paused, cleaning out one of Ace’s wounds. “Anyway, I oversaw most of the treatment for those who raided Enies Lobby, since the Straw Hats’ doctor was injured. When I went to go home a few days later, we discovered the Veil between the worlds was closed, and the man who had done it had our commander in his clutches. I was stuck in Water7, and Hotaru was stuck on Earth with our parents.”
“I was stuck on an Earth where there were blizzards in the deserts and sandstorms in the coldest places on the planet, and a man hell-bent on taking people’s souls and killing us all!” Hotaru countered with a huff. “So that’s why I wanted to come when the commander said he needed a crew - to be with my brother.”
There was something that crossed Law’s features, but Sabo couldn’t tell what it was before Jean Bart’s voice cut through the room again.
“Captain Law, we’ve reached Sabaody. We’re safe.”
Law’s head snapped up. “Wh - already?”
“Don’t doubt our commander, Captain Law. The journey through the portals is quick and painless. And while we’re in a room with no windows, we wouldn’t have seen or heard anything anyway,” Akira said. Sabo could tell he was smirking behind the mask.
Law sighed. “Surface, then, Jean Bart!”
Sabo slowly felt the pressure changing as they grew closer to the surface. After another few moments, Jean Bart appeared in the doorway.
“Captain, the contact we were to meet is right outside. We - we really did make it to Sabaody.”
Law sighed. “Okay, anyone that wants to stretch their legs and get some air can do so - but don’t leave this area. We don’t need the Marines knowing we’re here.”
Jean Bart nodded and disappeared with a couple members of the crew not currently helping Akira and Law.
“Hir - Akira!” a woman’s voice called, before she rushed into the room. “How’s Ace?”
“Haruka, you may be the commander’s daughter, but that doesn’t mean you can barge in here, especially without a mask,” Akira said, brow twitching in annoyance. “But Ace is stable. You should take Hotaru and get some air, and see if you can contact Sakura. I’ll send someone out if anything changes with Ace.”
Hotaru jumped at the opportunity to escape, practically dragging Haruka down the hall with her.
“Sabo. You can go too,” Law said, finishing with Jinbei and turning to Luffy. “We will inform you if something happens.”
Sabo frowned, but relented. He supposed he had been taking up enough of their time, and they were doctors after all.
“Oi, Akira, what’s the most fucked up thing you’ve seen as a doctor?” he heard Law ask.
Bitter laughter dripped from Akira. “A twelve year old that had been kept in stasis for six years by his father.”
Sabo desperately wanted to stay and hear that story, but the moment he was out of the room, the door shut and locked behind him.
Rude.
------
Reika didn’t know why she kept watching this.
Luffy was safe. Ace was safe. The agents were safe.
Her mother and brother were still at risk of death.
So why couldn’t she look away?
Whitebeard’s crew was attempting a retreat, Whitebeard himself was ready to make his final stand.
He was dying for his son. Those that had already fallen had given their lives for a brother.
And yet, Reika Muto could not tear her eyes from the slaughter - because that’s all it was anymore. Akainu was rampaging, trying to gun down as many of Whitebeard’s men as he could - and worse, he was gunning down Marines that dared to try to step in, to talk to him, and talk him out of the slaughter.
She could see doubt spreading among the Marines. Smoker, Tashigi, Koby and Helmeppo, and she could see the barely-restrained fury in her mother’s eyes.
“You’re so much like your mother, Miss Reika. You have a storm hidden in your eyes,” Leichter had once told her.
Oh Leichter, she thought, you have no idea just how dangerous this storm really is.
“There’s something behind the building!” A Marine suddenly screamed.
She cursed the camera for not being able to reach the angle, but other figures appeared on top of a piece of scaffolding.
The one in the middle, who seemed to be the leader, laughed. “Hey Pops. I’m glad I could make it to your funeral. Did you miss me?”
Oh. This must have been Blackbeard.
Whitebeard, despite the blood running down his face, looked nothing short of murderous. “You fat bastard.”
“It seems he’s gathered quite a crew for himself,” Rayleigh said, a deep, worried frown on his face. “Those Impel Down prisoners were never supposed to be seen again, and they’re some of the worst criminals around.”
“Comin’ from the right hand of the Pirate King, that sounds a little concerning,” Valon said.
“You have no idea. What is this guy planning?” Rayleigh questioned. Going by the look on his face, Rayleigh seemed to be remembering something.
Blackbeard and Whitebeard began to fight brutally, but in the end, Blackbeard’s crew played dirty, all of them blasting Whitebeard with more bullets than Reika had ever heard.
And in the end, Whitebeard was shouting his final words.
“The One Piece… is real!”
And just like that, a Yonko - one of the four people that controlled the oceans in the New World, was dead, and yet, his corpse did not fall.
It was one of the most spectacular things Reika had ever seen.
Whitebeard’s men were sobbing though, mourning their captain and father. The Marines were frozen in place, awed and unsure of what to do.
But Blackbeard sure did, and before anyone could tell what was happening, he emerged from the large sheet that had been draped over Whitebeard. He raised one fist, surrounding several of the Marines in the darkness she already knew he could use. Moments later, he punched the air, and it cracked, just like -
“Dear God,” Rayleigh choked. “He didn’t.”
Reika pressed a hand to her mouth, because Blackbeard had indeed done it. He had done the thing thought to be impossible - carry two Devil Fruits.
“Rayleigh, what happens now?” she asked, her voice shaky.
He shook his head. “I don’t know. This era is going to be quite interesting to watch, that’s for sure… but I am concerned about him.”
“Fate has a plan for all of us! And it has chosen me to conquer this world!” Blackbeard shouted with a laugh.
She’d heard enough about fate to last her a lifetime.
“Sengoku, Garp, if you want to protect this precious little island’a yours, come on, make your stand, before I close the book on you two like I did Whitebeard!”
With that, the ground at Marineford began to shake.
“Evacuate the north side of the archipelago! Tsunami warning!”
Reika felt a familiar churning in her stomach. How many times had she practiced tsunami drills at school? How many times had she seen tsunami damage happen on other small islands on Earth, with the knowledge that it could happen at any moment in Domino as well?
“Reika, you should go tell your commander what happened. I imagine he’s going to have to come up with a plan to keep Earth safe from Blackbeard,” Rayleigh said.
She glanced at the scene before her again, and nodded, leaping from the roof into the alley below, with Mai following her.
“Been a while since we’ve had some girl time,” Mai mused.
“Does yesterday not count?”
Mai scoffed. “Hardly. We had, what, forty-five minutes together before you jumped back into the lie you call your life?”
Reika felt her face harden. “You think I like having to lie to my brother and sister-in-law?”
“I just don’t see why you can’t tell them the truth about who exactly it is you are. You said they know about Earth, and about the organization you work for. What’s the harm in telling them you’re Sakura?”
“How am I supposed to tell the brother that I met four days ago that I was the one that tried to kill him at Enies Lobby?” she questioned, raising a brow. “How am I supposed to trust that he wouldn’t immediately run to the admirals or the fleet admiral and have me executed like they tried to do to Ace?”
“Was it easy to trust me yesterday? I worked for an organization that killed you only a few weeks ago. What about Valon? He kidnapped your grandfather.”
“That’s different and you know it. You and Valon are still working for a criminal, technically, but Takeshi’s my brother, and he works for the government.”
Mai let out a soft hum. “Can you be so sure, though? I mean, after growing up with your parents for so long, I’m sure he’s aware of some dirty secrets that the government would rather keep secret, like your parents are.”
“I just feel like there’s a difference between knowing dirty government secrets, and almost being killed, Mai.”
Mai raised her hands in defeat. “Hey, it’s no skin off my nose, but I’m just saying, it’d be easier for you to deal with being there if your whole family is in on the secret. So tell me, what else have I missed in Domino since I’ve been away? Has Kaiba done anything stupid?”
She laughed. “No, not yet, although I have the worst feeling he will soon enough.”
“Oh? Why’s that?”
“He’s planning another tournament to celebrate the opening of KaibaLand. The best of the best from around the world are invited,” she said, glancing at Mai with a small smile. “I told him I’d talk to you about entering.”
“Wh - me? Why me?”
“Because despite what you’ve done, you’re still a good duelist - ”
“I’m a great duelist, actually.”
Reika raised a brow. “Would a great duelist turn down the opportunity to duel in a tournament without a bunch of shadow magic nonsense threatening them?”
Mai’s jaw dropped. “How the hell did you twist that back on me so fast?”
“Practice. Tell you what. I’ll think about telling Takeshi who I am if you think about dueling in Seto’s tournament.”
“Sakura!”
Relief flooded her as Aiko came into view, some of the other agents behind her. “Haruka! You’re okay!”
“So are you!” Aiko squeezed Reika tight in her hug, making her choke for air. “Sorry. Your mom’s so good with a sword! I mean, I’d heard dad talk about her prowess with them but wow, it’s something else to see it in person! Hey - are you alright?”
“Aiko, something terrible happened. We need to have a meeting - now.”
It wasn’t long before they were seated in an underground bunker beneath Shakky’s bar. In a way, it felt like when she’d given her report all those months ago in Domino, but also so much worse.
She took a steadying breath before she began. “As I think you’re all aware, Whitebeard went to Marineford to make his final stand in this world - and he has. He’s dead.”
A moment of silence fell over the room as the agents bowed their heads in respect to the fearsome captain.
“But it wasn’t the Marines that killed him,” Reika continued. “It was Blackbeard and his new crew. Blackbeard claims that it is his fate to take over Eturn. I’m afraid he will stop at nothing to get what he wants.”
Aiko nodded in agreement. “I’m afraid he may already know something about us. Ace told me that Blackbeard loved studying history. If he’s any good at it, he may have found some of the same clues the Oharan scholars did. We can’t risk a pirate like Blackbeard escaping to Earth.”
“There’s more, Aiko,” Reika said. “Blackbeard wasn’t just the one to kill Whitebeard. He also -” she had to pause because she couldn’t believe what she was about to say. “He took Whitebeard’s Devil Fruit for himself.”
There was a stunned silence, only broken by Kenji.
“Agent Muto, that’s impossible. People can only have one Devil Fruit.”
“Not Blackbeard,” she said. “I saw him cause an earthquake myself. That’s what triggered the tsunami warning here. He is the first person that I’m aware of to consume two Devil Fruits and survive.”
Kenji exhaled through his teeth, then took off his glasses and rubbed his brow. “Son of a bitch. Alright,” he put his glasses back on and rose to his feet, his face fixed with a serious, grim expression. “If Blackbeard is truly that dangerous, then I don’t see any other choice. We must call a meeting with Sengoku.”

Shanks raising ASL part 7
First - Previous - Next
One they get back to the Red force Shanks finds Benn waiting on the deck. Ace had passed out on the way back and was sleeping in Shanks arms. Benn looked the two over smirking at his captain. “Finally got through to the little fighter eh.” He whispered to his Captain. He knew how much the boys had come to mean to his captain, knew that they were part of the crew now. Part of their family. But he wasn’t going to pass up the chance to tease Shanks over his grumpiest son.
Shanks looked down at the little boy he was carrying in his arms. “In more ways than you can imagine.” He whispered back. Then he turned his attention back to Benn. “Where-”
“Where else.” Benn cut him off jerking his head towards the captain’s quarters. He knew exactly who his captain was asking after.
Shanks smiles at his first mate before making his way to his cabin, leaving Benn behind on watch. It was a bit of a juggle to get the door open and not let go of Ace but he managed. Once inside he was greeted by the sight of Mihawk sitting up on a chair next to the bed. In his bed lay Luffy and Sabo all tangled up in the blankets and each other. Mihawk turned to met his eye as he came in, nodding his head down to Ace in a silent question. ‘Is everything taken care of?’
“He’ll be okay for now.” Shanks reassured the unsaid worries. He walked over and gently laid Ace down next to Luffy. Watching as the three boys rearranged themselves subconsciously. Sabo throwing an arm over Luffy to grab hold of Ace, while Luffy snuggled into his returned brother. Ace turned to meet them. Wrapping himself around Luffy and fisting a hand into Sabo’s shirt. “But there’s a lot I need to tell you.”
The two men talked quietly, carful not to wake the boys. Mihawk tried to remain impassive but even he was shocked by the reveal of Ace’s parents.
“How can we protect them Mi? Luffy being Garp’s grandson was already going to take some maneuvering, but Ace? If this gets out the Marines will never leave him alone.” Shanks was sitting on the edge of the bed looking down at his boys, his hand gently running trough Ace’s hair. How could the world be so cruel? That Ace would be hunted down for no actions of his own.
“Then we never let them know.” Mihawk stated smoothly. “We keep the circle small. Only those we trust completely will know. The problem will be once he’s out there on his own, will he keep it a secret?” Mihawk paused. Thinking over an idea. One he loathed but might protect his family.
“I don’t want him to have to lie about who he is. Especially not from his Namaka. I don’t want to make him feel ashamed of who he is, or that he’s worth less because of his parents.” Shanks turned to face his partner. “They were good people Mi. My captain was a great man, Ace shouldn’t have to hide.”
“But he does.” Mihawk knew Shanks had a soft spot for his old Captain. His loyalty ran deep, and Shanks couldn’t stand the lies the Marines had spread about his old crew. But sentiment wasn’t going to keep Ace and his brother safe. It was fine to let the boy know the truth of his parents. On this boat he could be Gol D. Ace and know the man his father was. But the rest of the world couldn’t know.
“To the rest of the world he needs to be Portagas D. Ace adopted son of Red Hair Shanks. Nothing else. Even that last name would be a risk if so many of the Rodger pirates weren’t already wiped out.” He saw the small flinch his lover gave at the reminder of his lost family members. Mihawk didn’t want to hurt him, but for now they to be pragmatic. “We hide him by tying him to you. He’s just some kid you picked up in the East Blue. Nothing more.”
There was silence between them as they both thought over the future. Shanks turned his head to look back down at the boys.
“You said me.” Shanks voice was soft, grabbing Mihawk’s attention.
“Clarify.” He requested, he wasn’t sure where Shanks’ head was at right now.
“You said ‘we hid him by tying him to me’ so I take it you’re not staying.” Shanks had always know that this would come to an end. But Mihawks extended stay with the crew in the East Blue. The time they had spent on Dawn Island with the boys. Seeing Mihawk with his boys, it had allowed Shanks to deceive himself into thinking that maybe this time Mihawk would stay.
He had offered a place on the crew to Mihawk many times, but he understood the call of the sea, the need for freedom. And it had never stopped him from loving Mihawk, as long as Mihawk returned to him, it would never stop him. But that didn’t mean that it didn’t hurt every time Mihawk left. It didn’t mean he wanted Mihawk to leave.
Mihawk sighed. It was an old conversation. Shanks always gave him the option to stay but had long stopped out right asking for him to stay. He was always welcomed on the Red force but it was never home. When he was working his way to the top he had to be able to travel quickly. To hunt down his next opponent. To win his title. Now that he had it, challengers need to be able to find him. Constantly moving was counterproductive to that. Plus he would only hinder Shanks’s own goals. If people kept coming to challenge him, then Shanks and the crew, and now the boys, would be put in the cross fire. And that’s not to mention the influx of marines that would hunt them if they were publicly together. No better to keep them separate.
But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care. That he doesn’t want to keep Shanks and the boys safe. That he doesn’t love them….. He’s going to take that stupid offer.
“No. I won’t be.” Mihawk replied keeping a carful watch of his partners movement. How Shanks’s shoulders dropped just a bit and how he wasn’t looking at him. “In fact there’s another offer I’ll be taking.”
Shanks whipped around to look at him. “And just who else’s crew will you be joining?” This was a slap to the face. He thought Mihawk didn’t join his crew because he didn’t want a captain, but maybe he just didn’t want him.
“I’m not joining any crew.” Mihawk dismissed the concern. He never wanted a captain but if he were to have one, he’d pick Shanks. His lover should have no doubts or worries over that. “The Marines have made me an offer.”
“You can’t trust them.” Shanks felt his heart drop. It was his captain all over again. Mihawk would put his trust in the Marines and they would stab him in the back instantly. He couldn’t do this again. He couldn’t lose someone else he loved to the marines. “Whatever they promised you, whatever deal they offer is a lie. You can’t trust them.”
“I know that.” Mihawk would be more irritated with Shanks if there wasn’t a breathing reminder of everything Shanks lost sleeping on their bed right now. His lover had had a long stressful night already and he probably should have saved this conversation for another night. But oh well. “They’re creating a ‘Warlord’ system. A group of pirates who can operate however they please without interference from the marines. In exchange we have to help them deal with certain problems.”
He watched as several emotion flicker over Shanks face. “I don’t like it. And I can’t imagine you enjoying being under their thumb.” Shanks couldn’t understand why Mihawk would even consider agreeing to this proposal.
“Oh I won’t. I wasn’t originally planning on taking up the offer. But I can refuse to help them. If they ever sent me after you or the boys I would refuse, or a least fake my efforts, depending on the situation.” Mihawk agreed with Shanks explaining his reasoning.
“Won’t they come after you if you refuse them.” Shanks questioned his lover’s logic.
“Of course but I’m not taking this position for my own safety.” Mihawk explained. Though his explanation left more questions than it answered for Shanks.
“Then why take it in the first place?” Shanks questioned. Starting to get frustrated. He did not want any of his loved ones near the Marines.
“Come now Shanks, you’re smarter than this.” Mihawk waited for his lover to put all the pieces together. He wasn’t good at expressing emotions. He far preferred actions than words. Luckily Shanks always seemed to know his true intentions behind his actions. He had no doubt Shanks would understand him once he thought it over.
Shanks paused thinking things through. “If you take this they won’t hunt you, and you can do what you please….”
“Meaning they won’t be paying to close of attention to who I’m around. They also are giving us the option of making our own home based on islands in the Grandline.” Mihawk expanded in the privileges given to him by the world government if he took up their offer.
“You hate staying in one place for to long so why…” Shanks was still putting the pieces together.
“Because it would give you a safe place for the boys.” Mihawk finally laid the last card on the table. “You’re a big name Red Hair, but you’re no emperor yet.” Mihawk had no doubt that Shanks would reach that level. He was well on his way there. “But until you make yourself and your crew untouchable….”
“The marines could come after us and the boys.” Shanks finished looking between the sleeping children and his lover.
“So if there was an island the marines couldn’t touch where you and your crew could restock or stay out of sight.” Mihawk continues the thought his lover started.
Shanks bit his lip as he thought over his lovers plan. “That would be helpful. But not at the cost of-”
“My freedom?” Mihawk went right to the heart of the issue. “You’re right if that was the only benefit it wouldn’t be worth it. Which is why I wasn’t going to take it. Until tonight.” Mihawk turned his attention from Shanks for the first time in this conversation. His eyes locking on Ace. “After all, if the world government ever learned about the existence of the pirate king’s son who would they send after him? Marines or Pirates?” He locked his eyes back on Shanks’ wide ones. Understanding finally filling his lover’s gaze. “Wouldn’t it be nice to have a heads up on what they know?”
Shanks couldn’t believe was Mihawk was offering. This was an advantage they wouldn’t get again. But still. “I can’t ask you to do this Mi.”
“You’re not.” Mihawk cut him off firmly. “It’s my decision. Besides it’s not forever. You’re close to being an emperor. You and the boys will be untouchable then. The government won’t send me after you. That gives me 7-8 years to build up trust with the fools. By then Ace and Sabo will probably set sail, and I’ll be in a position to make sure the government isn’t giving Ace any attention he doesn’t earn.” Mihawk smirked at the end. Sure that all three boys will create quite the stir when they leave the nest.
Shanks thought about it. He still hated the idea. The idea of Mihawk being so close to the government, the people who killed his captain, put him on edge. “I still don’t like it.”
“I know.” The two made eye contact once more. Mihawk held out his hand and Shanks reached out to hold it. Mihawk used his grip to pull Shanks over to him, Shanks willingly followed moving from the bed to his lovers lap.
“Can it wait? I’m close to being an emperor. Maybe that will be enough protection on its own?” Shanks knew it was a good plan but he just couldn’t agree to it.
Mihawk sighed wrapping his arms around Shanks. “It can wait for a little while longer. But I’ll have to answer soon. The offer won’t be there forever.” Mihawk already knew his choice. If it would give him an advantage at protecting those he cared for he could deal with being the Marines delivery boy. A few years were nothing in the grand scheme of things. But he would concede tonight. Shanks wasn’t ready to agree, he’s had a long and emotional night. They had time to talk about it again. Once the boys were more settled and Shanks had time to think over the offer. He was a brilliant strategist after all. Mihawk had no doubts he would come to the same conclusion Mihawk had.
But for now he held his lover close as they watched over their sleeping boys.
They had time.
Or the did until a bandit decided to show up at Party bar the next morning.
This kinda got away from me. I’ve always been fascinated over why Mihawk decided to become a Warlord. So here are some of his thoughts behind it in this Au.

One Piece x Record of Ragnarok
Sasaki ends up in the world of One Piece (you can choose how) and is having an absolute blast going around challenging everyone he can to fight so he can learn from them. He’s challenged Garp, Sengoku, Mihawk, Crocodile, Shanks, Whitebeard, Marco, Big Mom, Katakuri, Kaido, and way way more. He is just loving the big life learning so much meanwhile everyone is trying to figure out who this old man is.
What’s the reaction of his friends from Heaven and people in the One Piece world to him just going crazy learning?
-Kojiro wasn’t sure how he ended up here in this strange new world, filled will people of all shapes and sizes, literally, and people with strange abilities that came from something called a Devil Fruit.
-He remembers falling asleep under a tree up in Valhalla, after an intense workout, the next he was on a spring island, surrounded by wild-flowers and harmless creatures.
-He spent his time roaming, eventually locating a town and the owner of the bar he went into was able to provide him with some information about the area he was in.
-Kojiro quickly realized that he wasn’t in Valhalla anymore and decided to set off on an adventure, especially after learning that there were strong warriors all around the world, in the form of pirates!
-He had no interest in the bounties of these opponents, only wanting to fight them, but he had managed to earn some many, taking down some lower-level pirates, ones that were hurting innocent civilians.
-It wasn’t until he took down a whole squadron of corrupt marines who were extorting an island for protection before he earned his own bounty.
-The day he saw his bounty poster he was so elated that he actually took the poster, pocketing it to keep it safe with the idea of showing his friends back in Valhalla, who were currently looking for him after realizing he had gone missing.
-A reporter had been nearby when Kojiro challenged Mihawk to a duel, and the two went outside of town, usually Mihawk didn’t accept duels, but he could tell Kojiro was strong, he was a worthy opponent.
-The pictures of their fight quickly took the world by storm, as an old man managed to actually injure Mihawk and had him on his toes before Mihawk slashed him down.
-However, liking Kojiro, as he was a worthy opponent, tended to Kojiro’s wounds himself, nursing him back to health and the two found a good friend in each other.
-Seeing him being able to stand toe-to-toe with a Warlord quickly increased not only Kojiro’s popularity, but his bounty as well, as the World Government deemed him dangerous.
-Kojiro enjoyed exploring the world, challenging other strong opponents and making more friends, with Shanks easily being the most fun to hang out with. Kojiro rejected the idea of joining Shanks’ crew, as he would fit right in, as Kojiro wanted to explore and train against strong opponents some more. Shanks wasn’t bothered, but the offer was always open.
-Big Mom was quickly exasperated with this samurai when he showed up on Whole Cake Island, finding him kind of ditzy, but he was strong, able to take out several of her children when they tried to attack him on her order while he was enjoying some of the sweets available.
-Katakuri had never met someone who could evade his Haki before, he could never tell what Kojiro was going to do next, but Katakuri loved it, he loved the thrill of finally getting a challenge, having fun!!
-When the two were laughing and drinking together, after beating the crap out of one another, Big Mom couldn’t do anything but roll her eyes but left it be as long as he didn’t attack any more of her children.
-When Garp found Kojiro, just eating snacks and drinking tea under a cherry blossom tree on a spring island, Garp was stunned to see that Kojiro wasn’t a crazed madman like others in the World Government made him out to be, he was just a happy, easy-going guy, who shared his snacks with him.
-Sengoku was furious when Garp didn’t answer his Den-Den Mushi, coming to find him and found the two passed out drunk, covered in cherry blossoms like they had a big party, waking them both up by punching them on the tops of their heads.
-The three got into an intense battle, the two marines had no intention of bringing Kojiro in, finding out the truth behind the rumors that he was insanely strong, learning from every fight he was in.
-Up in Valhalla Brunnhilde shook her head while covering her eyes, “Seems he wound up in a pirate dominated world and has a massive bounty from going around and fighting others.”
-Raiden was instantly laughing, so was Shiva while Poseidon and Odin rolled their eyes, of course he did, when wasn’t Kojiro in a fight.
-Zeus was stroking his beard, laughing lightly, “We’ll bring him back once he’s done with this fight of his. Looks like he’s having too much fun to stop him now.” Agreements went around, watching him through a portal leading to Valhalla.

Headcanon : Dick Grayson being a dad
Tumblr media
Author note : I can’t explain why but I am sucker for Domestic Headcanon, hope you will enjoy it. Like my other headcanon is based on the event of Titans show and could be considered as a sequel to this headcanon.
Warning : slight spoiler / nothing but fluff I am sucker for domestic headcanon LMAO.
I do not the gif credit(s) to the owner
Tumblr media
First of all : Dick Grayson never saw himself as a dad
Sure he has a thing for child in distress and he already prove how good he was with children
Plus we know thanks to Rachel’s dad : He used to dream about having a family
But with everything happen : Deathstroke, Donna, Jerrircho… He started to questionnate his personality and ability as human being. Basically he started to be afraid he won’t be a good leader, a good father, a good partner.
He felt self-concisous about himself : he nearly lose Jerricho and Garp they were under his responsibility and yet he failed
Or he was about to
Fortunately he got his shit together
So your relationship didn’t get hurt as much as it could : Dick tried to push you away from him but you know better, it was just his way to protect you from him and everything.
So after a huge fight between you two : He finally confessed about how much you mean to him and ho much he cared for you, you did the same you told him you loved him and there is no one you would share your life but him
After this you became closer to each other
And what should happen, happened : you get married to the only man you wanted to share your life.
Everyone was so excited and happy : it was like your wedding help everyone to forget their issues
5 months after your wedding you got pregnant
9 months after you gave birth to a gorgeous daughter
Dick named her after his mum’s names
You two decided Kory will do an awesome godmother (She will)
During the whole pregnancy, Dick felt different stages : First he was S U P E R afraid I mean we’re talking about a baby HIS baby, his very first baby. Yeah, he was good with children but he never experienced baby : how’s that work anyway ? Could he manage it ? Was he going to lose you ? Could Alfred help him with that ? Then after a long conversation with him a got super confident, I mean he is around children all the time you were there, Kory was there everyone were there with him there no way he’ll fail as a parent right ? Those two stages switch like week by week. It was getting difficult for you : not because of the pregnancy but because you had to deal with an overwhelming husband. But he got fine eventually.
What I am going to say is obvious but I had to say this : Dick is an overprotective daddy
Especially because he got an adorable little princess : HIS little princess
She got him around a finger : there literally nothing he won’t do for her
You teased him so much about « Annw look at this who‘s got wrap around her little finger ? »
He is overprotective dad but not too much I mean : He’ll learn her to deal with pain, like not crying when she fell on the floor not because it’s being weak but because it’s alright there nothing to be afraid of. He’ll teach her to be obedient but don’t be afraid to ask when something doesn’t feel right to her. She’ll be fair with people and basically a very open-minded girl. He did everything on his power so his daughter will become an awesome adult.
That didn’t mean he won’t kiss ass if someone dare to put a finger on his daughter : she is his treasure no one could touch her
At first he was a bit awkward when it came to play with her : especially when she was a little girl, she used to ask him have tea with him. It wasn’t like he didn’t want to play with her but he could be socially awkward, nonetheless he did his best to be the best dad of the world.
You on the other hand felt so lucky to have such an amazing husband : He is the one who dealt with midnight baby’s bottle, singing lullaby when she had a nightmare or checked if a monster was under her bed. He is a truly helpful husband
Got skill at changing baby’s nappies too
The first time he went to a park with his daughter : he got surround by single mums I mean the man is really handsome but picture him with a 1 yo little girl around his arm ? See it’s absolutely lovely.
Oh man he felt so awkward like « yeah s’cuse me I am here for my daughter … »
Sitting, he couldn’t stop watching the whole park just to be sure his daughter was 100% Safe : People called him « ParkPD »
He did the same while shopping : he never left the shop without buying something for his daughter
She might be spoiled but she isn’t materialist
Always bought some cute pajamas like teddy pajamas
He is sucker for baby’s laugh : it became his favorite sound
Seriously he can do anything to her giggle
The first time he had to let her go to school : broke him. He was getting used to have her all around and now she will be far from him for a days.
Basically he did anything to deplay her first day at school.
« If you don’t feel ready (your daughter ’s name) just let me know » « Dick seriously she is 3 years old she is ready ! » « we can’t be 100% sure I-I won’t be there to check... »
Liar. Since her first day at school he always took time to check on her during her playtime. And if couldn’t be here because he is busy doing his Titans thing or police work, someone will definetly check on her probably Kory or Rachel / Gar’
Sometimes you got jealous about how close he is with his daughter : they got a lot of moments together
Of course you were close to her too
He took him time but he decided to introduce his daughter to Bruce : he wasn’t sure if Batman should be a part of his life of your life. But then you remember him about everything Bruce did for him and how well his relationship was with him now, dick didn’t want to lose that.
Both of you were surprised to see Bruce with a baby, turns out he was good with them almost like a grandpa.
Bruce got her some t-shirt with his logo on it, he thought it was a great gift
Your daughter got a tiny bat as a teddy it became her favorite
Because of his past, he is always afraid he might lose his daughter so time to time when he felt down : you were here by his side telling him to relax and enjoy the present she’ll grown up super fast and become a women eventually.
He did as you told : he couldn’t be more thankful. He was married to you, he felt so lucky to have you with him. You got him a beautiful daughter such an awesome princess. He couldn’t be more happy.

One Piece Theory: Rocks Pirates
Tumblr media
The Importance of The Rocks Pirates
It was mentioned that the Rocks Pirates were said to be terrorizing the world by 1984 (Ch. 907). The God’s Valley Incident occurred in 1486, just 2 years later. Now, we don’t know much about the Rocks Pirates or their captain, Rocks D. Xebec, but by taking a look at the other members of the crew, we may be able to garner some clues.
Despite having a crew filled with powerful members, the only ones with canon ages are: Charlotte Linlin (AKA Big Mom) and Edward Newgate (AKA Whitebeard). As pointed out on Ohara Library there is heavy evidence that Big Mom was at sea from at least 50 years ago (1474), as her first son, Perospero was born on a “certain random port”. In addition, the Katakuri triplets (48), Cracker (45), and Montd’Or (38) were all born on a ship. Interestingly enough, Montd’Or was born the same year that the God Valley Incident occurred. This would mean from the ages of 18 – 30 she was at sea, with at least two of these being spent with the Rocks Pirates (1484 – 1486).
Sengoku tells us that it was Xebec’s dream to be “King of the World” and that he established a crew of fearless and ruthless pirates to accomplish it. Sengoku also says that Xebec’s ambition was involved with many of the world’s taboo subjects. We can assume that one such topic would include the “Will of D.” and the “D. Clan” , however there is a whole slew of other things he could have also had a hand in:
·         The Void Century
·         The Ancient Weapons
·         The Poneglyphs
·         The Treasure in Mary Goise
·         Im-Sama
I think it is important to point out, that by 1496, Big Mom already had a Road Poneglyph in her possession and by 1504 Kaido had managed to take the one hidden in Wano. It seems very peculiar that two of Rocks’ crewmates went after them. This leads me to believe that they had to have some type of idea regarding their use or at the very least, their importance. This is highlighted by the fact that Big Mom had one before Roger even knew what they were used for. In addition, Shiki, another ex-member of the Rocks pirates, knew enough about the ancient weapons by 1497 to want to make an alliance with Roger who was rumored to have one. This leads me to believe that the Rocks Pirates were somehow involved in at least the first three subjects listed, to some degree. Yet, they don’t appear to have any interest in collecting the other Poneglyphs. Could it be that the events of God’s Valley convinced them that Laugh Tale was not safe to go after?
As for the treasure in Mary Goise and Im-sama, it all goes back to Rocks’ goal: to become King of the World. We know, from the Reverie arc that if someone were to sit on the ‘Empty Throne’ it would symbolize that they had power over the entire world. In the next chapter, we see a figure called “Im” sitting on the throne. The fact that we were given a brief description of the Rocks Pirates in the midst of these groundbreaking chapters, is not a coincidence. Is it possible that Xebec was also aware of Mary Goise’s treasure?
[I’ll be talking about the Treasure in a different post]
Now, in regard to the God Valley Incident. We know that, for unknown reasons, the world nobles and some of their slaves were present during the events.
“Garp and Roger encountered each other on the island… and teamed up to defeat the Rocks Pirates. All in order to protect the Celestial Dragons and their slaves…”
For starters, “encountered” insinuates that neither party was aware the other was going to be there. So why the hell did Roger care so much? Why did Garp for that matter. He has, on multiple occasions shown a disgust for the Celestial Dragons, citing them as the reason he won’t accept a promotion. Perhaps this incident is the cause for that dislike. However, considering he was already 40 during the incident, that might not be the case. I guess it would all depend when they began to offer him a promotion.
On Roger’s side, we have a man who will one day be King of the Pirates. We don’t know much about his past other than he was born in Loguetown in the East Blue. Still, I can’t imagine he had the best opinions on Celestial Dragons and slavery. There must be more to the story.
People have speculated that due to the name, “God Valley” and the fact that Celestial Dragons view themselves as “gods” that the place must have had a connection to them. I think the fact that there were Celestial Dragons canonically present during the attack confirms that. The true question is: What were they doing there?
Xebec, much like Blackbeard, wanted power, he wanted to be King of the World. Whatever occurred in God Valley, it must have started with him after something.on the island. Considering what we know about his interest in “taboo” subjects it would have something to do with them. Something that would get him closer to the seat of power.
I would conclude that whatever it was, he got close. Close enough that a whole island/country was destroyed in the process. My apologies – “vanished” – the entirety of God’s Valley vanished. The easy conclusion would be that the Marines performed a Buster Call. And there sure is a lot of evidence to suggest this. For instance, the disappearance of God Valley sounds eerily similar to Robin’s story of Ohara, as both islands are no longer drawn on any maps. In addition, the World Government put a lot of effort into erasing the incident altogether from history. However, it is also possible that something else just as sinister occurred.
Heck, we aren’t even 100% sure that Xebec is dead. The people who would have the best idea to what happened would be those who took part in the incident itself: Rocks D. Xebec, The Rocks Pirates (to some extent), Monkey D. Garp, and Gol D. Roger.
