Billy Joel songs as mash characters?

Darling this is not a simple question. This is a subject I have been pondering for some time.

Hawkeye - I Go to Extremes

This is hard because, a lot of songs fit him. I have, previously, associated Hawkeye with Tomorrow Is Today, Pressure, and Everybody Loves You Now. I also think there's something there for Code of Silence (which could also fit other characters, I considered it for Charles; it's kind of an all-purpose trauma song). I wanted to do something different, which is why I picked this one. I don't see it as being about mood swings, despite the chorus, but the verses really sound like Hawkeye to me. It's that feeling of constantly fighting something and being at a breaking point.

Look, I know it's basic, but it fits. The melody and beat fit him too! He's might seem a little rough but he has a heart of gold and wants to have a good time! And he's a threat to good Catholic girls everywhere.

Henry - Big Man on Mulberry Street

Why can't I cool out? Why don't I button my lip? Why do I lash out? Why is it I always shoot from the hip?

It's just a vibe! I think the melody and lyrics both fit his kind of anxious everyman thing.

Radar - Get It Right the First Time

I'm not much good at conversation I was never to smooth at comin' on real strong If all it takes is inspiration Then I might have just what it takes If I don't make no bad mistakes and I get it right the first time That's the main thing

The lyrics fit Radar's interest in romance, but the melody as well as parts of the chorus also remind me of how seriously he takes his job as clerk and how busy he always is. Sexually the first time did not last for Radar, but you know.

Margaret - She's Always a Woman

Oh, she takes care of herself, she can wait if she wants She's ahead of her time Oh, and she never gives out and she never gives in She just changes her mind

Look, I know. But it's perfect. It's about a woman in a male-dominated field who was widely hated for being too assertive and generally for misogynistic reasons. She's all these things, but she's still a woman. Plus the vaguely negative vibe to it fits Margaret too.

Frank - Why Judy Why

I never thought that I would need, need a friend But I did, in the end Tell me why, Judy, why

I really puzzled over this one, but I couldn't think of any Frank songs that summed up his whole character, so I chose one that I thought fit a specific part of his story. I don't think Frank ever anticipated Margaret would actually leave him, and when it happens, he's crushed. He does need a friend and he doesn't have any. "Judy" could be Hawkeye and Trapper or BJ, or it could be his mom, depending on the episode. I chose to focus on pathetic Frank, but while he's with Margaret, Blonde Over Blue fits as well. There's also a demo called The End of the World that I like to associate with Frank's fears of Louise becoming her own person.

Klinger - You May Be Right

You may be right I may be crazy Oh, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for It's too late to fight It's too late to change me

Choosing a song for him was so hard! I think the general vibe of this one fits with the melody and all. Obviously "I may be crazy" is very Klinger but I also think "don't try to change me" conveys his absolutely refusal to be turned into a killer. I also like She's Right On Time as a Klinger/Soon-Lee song.

Mulcahy - All About Soul

This life isn't fair It's gonna get dark, it's gonna get cold You've got to get tough, but that ain't enough It's all about soul

It's a romantic song, but you don't have to take it that way, and I think it describes Mulcahy's role in the group well. They need more than toughness and more than medical skill. They need a heart, someone who can look after their souls.

BJ - Temptation

'Cause I know what all of my friends say There's a danger in wanting too much But she's such a temptation

It's about his baby daughter. It's about overwhelming love, but it conveys a bit of a dark side, too. Being in Korea is even more painful because he loves his daughter so much, so I think that desperation and fear of how strong those feelings are suit BJ well.

Potter - Shades of Grey

Once there were trenches and walls And one point of every view Fight 'til the other man falls Kill him before he kills you These days the edges are blurred I'm old and tired of war I hear the other man's words I'm not that sure anymore

It just so perfectly encapsulates Potter's changing feelings about war as a career soldier who once believed in the romance of it. Billy Joel also has a demo called The Siegfried Line that fits Potter very well because it's about WWII.

Charles - Where's the Orchestra

After all, this is my big night on the town My introduction to the theatre crowd I assumed that the show would have a song So I was wrong

I assigned this to him once a while ago and I'm glad I remembered because it's perfect for him. The melancholy melody... the feeling of getting/having everything you want but something not being right... being out of place in the place you're supposed to fit... and the lyrics are perfect for him because of his love of music and experience with the musicians.

As a bonus, I've previously associated This Is the Time and Famous Last Words with the entire cast!

Goodnight Saigon reminds me of MASH a lot too, with the choppers and some of the lyrics, but it's very anchored to Vietnam. And of course I'd be remiss if I didn't mention his two songs that actually reference the Korean War directly, We Didn't Start the Fire and Leningrad.

a trailer for dd played before the movie i saw today and i felt this wave of sadness come over - both because of what it should have been and because there is a part of me that does want to watch it (but i'm staying strong). i also hadnt realized it was premiering tomorrow, i feel like i've seen no promo from norman himself. the whole thing just feels so rushed and off, i know season two was green lit but i have doubts we'll ever see it

Norman can't do press or post anything about the show on SM because of the strike, though I guess he's trying to make up for it with pap walks, etc.

They're filming the last block of S2 now. I don't know when it'll air, but it'll air. AMC knows there's an audience for it, or at least there should be provided they stop chasing everybody away.

Ultimately it's up to you if you want to watch or not. The impression I'm getting is most of it won't make Caryl fans very happy, and I don't see why anyone should go into every episode dreading what might be next (that's not how TV shows are supposed to work). But I understand that even as Carylers, we aren't going to view things from the same lens and we need to judge for ourselves. You don't have to watch all the way through and you don't have to pay.

I'm personally going to wait for Carol or Carol adjacent scenes to make their way online and I'll post the links to @lighteneverything's recaps.

tng update time. last night we did "heart of glory" and "arsenal of freedom."

heart of glory verdict: REALLY GOOD. i knew going in this was a worf episode but i was NOT expecting the scene at the beginning with geordi! that could have easily been its own episode but it was SO COOL to see how he sees finally - i had been wondering about it.

after watching tholian web i decided it was silly for them to go to that other ship where life support was failing with NO SPACE SUITS. i guess it wouldn't have helped in the event the ship blew up but come on

klingon death ritual a little unsettling at first but actually later i decided it was metal as hell.

worf's dilemma was so good. like in the naked time when he went THAT WORLD IS ALIEN TO ME NOW you can see that he's at odds with both where he came from and where he is now and doesn't feel totally at home in either, which, frankly, is spockcore (honorific). he instantly shot up several spaces in my tng character ranking

and his solution was so good! like, these wackos dont represent what he really wants because they arent Real Klingons theyre extremists or whatever. ik it's a little bit of a copout in some ways but it was kind of nice for him to be able to form his own, third answer to "who's better, humans or klingons." like sometimes the answer is neither are really connecting with me rn im just gonna keep truckin

i will say that there were hints of people doubting worf's loyalties here and him straight up killing that other dude put it all to bed. dont EVER question him again. i'll kill you.

also lowkey racist when that klingon picked the little girl up and everybody went to pieces :/

him promising he was just being polite and didnt want to leave the enterprise lol. everybody stared until he promised TWICE. so true. possibly my fav tng episode so far

arsenal of freedom: NOT that great. not sure why we were watching that one except the lists said to.

i recognized the peddler from other shows, probably b*ffy in this instance. he just has one of those faces

the whole time dr crusher was in the hole i kept waiting for them to huddle for warmth and then they DIDNT. not that i even necessarily wanted to see her demeaned to this level like it would've made me mad but WHY ELSE would you mention she's cold. like i'm also mad that they didn't

also this could've been a tos episode. imagine if bones was in a little hole and spock and kirk had to set his broken arm and unbury him and keep him warm. i know that's just the empath. shut up

kind of dumb of her not to mention she had a leg wound when it was quite literally covered in dirt. girl come on

anyway i liked her acting in this scene. ultimately i've just decided i'm glad they didn't cuddle because this is one of the first times i've seen her as a person and not a Woman(tm). the other time was that other episode where she was nerd out about uh...oh man now i'm mad i can't remember. she was nerding out about some science thing or some famous science person in an episode we watched not too long ago and i liked that too. and then forgot to make a note of it. rip dr crusher :(

ALSO. sorry. if they were getting shot at it was dumb of them to send data alone down into the hole. everybody should have gone into the hole for safety. or data should have pulled picard up so they had an extra phaser. cmon

anyway i liked geordi's thing in this ep. that guy invalidating him was horrible and i'm glad he got to have the last word and also get his moment. GEORDI DESERVES A MOMENT. the ship splitting up is still fucking hilarious to me though. there's so many logical problems with this it makes your head spin

also, once again, there should NOT !!! be children on a starship. insane.

next i am doing "symbiosis" on my own and then tomorrow we're doing "skin of evil" together.

SPOILERS OF EXTRAORDINARY ATTORNEY WOO!

This episode was my favorite so far (well, i say this every week but whatever):

First, the conflict of this episode was so interesting to me, as a civil engineer grad I can say that the feud and differences among architects and civil engineers is SO TRUE, even though most of the time we work together sometimes our way of approaching some problems are COMPLETELY different. This case, especially dealing with paving/roads construction (I think that's the term in english), I can see both arguments as a straight line among the city can be seem ridiculous but can be the cheapest and easiest way as well, and also the impact of the traffic/people traveling can increase the town's financially but also damage the green area and people's homes too. So complicated! Can't wait for next episode tomorrow

I missed Geu-ra-mi and I thought she would appear more, but ep. 7 was so packed already and one thing is that her and Young woo's relationship is already well established so I'm really happy seeing Suyeon growing as our second bestie. She basically confronted everybody! Said to Junho to not confuse our Young woo's feeling and other people (she straight up confessed, what a ✨ QUEEN✨) and pushed both of them to have a conversation not just miscommunicate or assume. Young woo saying that Junho avoided answering her directly is just showing how, again, perceptive she is. I don't really think they're going to kiss as is well known that our baby whale doesn't like to be touched but I'm curious to see what happens next.

Minwoo being that prick he is, what's new? I love that Suyeon said he's just after Young woo to bully her and him showing his inferiority complex. I really hope they address that in later episodes and we can understand a little bit about him, but for now I can't really root for his character :(

Young woo's dad and the Hanbada' CEO conversation just reminded me how the worlds still cruel AGAIN. She had the best grades and was the no.1 in everything, and she worked hard for that, but people are just... argh! When she said that she didn't like his father mingling on her discouragements and disappoints is so true but you can see both sides so clear, she wants to navigate life as her own, making her decisions, but as a dad he just just wants her to not face hardships UGH I'M GONNA CRY BYE~

Putting your phone down, your chest tightens a bit. What was that interaction? Is it the lack of male attention that got you squirming over a short conversation about Game of Thrones and coffee? Is it the geek in you? Whatever it is, it made you put your phone away and close your eyes to try and find your sleep.

You woke up 3 hours later, feeling a bit more excited to go to school than usual. Like you were expecting some kind of surprise and it made you feel giddy inside. It takes you around 30 minutes to get ready since you already prepared everything the night before. While on the bus ride to school you receive a message.

Hoseok 6:45am: don't be late!

You bite your lower lip and fight the smile growing on your face as you typed your reply.

Y/n 6:46am: can't wait for my coffee!!

Disappointment was evident on your face when you get to the school lobby and it was empty--like you were expecting someone to wait for you there and they didn't show. Nonetheless, you rushed to the courtyard where all the rest of the students were at this point, preparing for the event later in the day. Once you get there, you look around the area, searching for a familiar face when you were disrupted by your best friend, Jungkook.

"Finally! I thought you'd be late again. Come on, we've got so much left to do!!" He whined while dragging you to a table at the corner of your department's area.

"Hey, I'm punctual today. Cut me some slack."

"Yeah, pretty shocking." Jungkook teased with wide eyes which made you smile.

"Okay, where do we begin?"

Time flew by and you didn't have time to even check your phone. The program had started and everyone was hyped up, freshmen going around and introducing themselves to everybody they haven't met yet, seniors basically chilling around and leaving all the work for the sophomores and juniors. Once you had time for a quick break, you pull out your phone, completely forgetting about your bet, you were curious as to why you had a message from Hoseok. Upon reading his chat it all comes back to you.

Hoseok 1:12PM: have you had your lunch already?

Y/n 1:30PM: hi, no. I took a break just now.

Hoseok 1:31PM: do you wanna grab something to eat?

It took you a minute to think of a reply, trying not to overthink the situation. You were never alone in a place with just you and Hoseok, heck, you were never even that close to even eat together. So why was he suddenly asking you to hang out and grabe a bite?

Stop overthinking and just say what you want to say... You thought to yourself.

Y/n 1:33PM: sure, where are you? :)

Hoseok 1:34PM: You really need to be more aware of your surroundings y/n...

You frowned with a smile as you look up from your phone and scanned the area. Not too far from where you were sitting was Hoseok leaning on a lamp post, smirking and waved at you. You could have sworn you felt your chest tightened again at the sight of him.

Y/n 1:36PM: coming ;)

You typed and quickly looked up at him and he subsequently checks his phone to read your reply to which he smiles at his phone then nods at you.

"Hey I'm just gonna go out for a bite with a friend. Want anything?" You ask Jungkook who was busy with whatever game he has downloaded on his phone.

"Hmm maybe a burger? Or whatever you're getting. Thanks!!" He doesn't even bother to look at you but you laugh softly anyways.

"Okay, but please text me if anything happens. I won't be long." Jungkook just nods so you take your bag and make your way to Hoseok, who was watching you walk towards him, not even breaking eye contact.

"Hi." He smiles down at you. Did you ever notice how tall he was? It seems like you never did since you never stood so close to him to realize he was towering over you.

"Hi." You smiled back as you started walking.

"So what coffee are you planning to get me?" Hoseok asks in his teasing voice while fighting a smile. Your eyes were wide in shock as you let out a huff while fighting a laugh as well.

"What???! I totally beat you here today!"

Hoseok takes out his phone and shows you a picture from his gallery. It was a picture of the huge clock in the lobby and it says 6:45AM. The timestamp and date on the picture seconds this proof.

"That is so unfair, you literally live 10 minutes away!" You whined while stomping your feet as you walk.

Hoseok laughs, he finds this side of you, one he's never seen before, really cute. "Rules are rules, Y/n. You're getting me coffee."

"Fiiiine... What do you want?" You accept your defeat.

"Yessss!" Hoseok bites his lower lip as he smiles and playfully wraps your arm around his. You have no idea where you were going but you just follow Hoseok as he leads the way.

The Ledge #584: Birthday Week!

When I put together each and every episode of The Ledge, I try really hard not to repeat myself too much. If I play a new single one week, the next I'll more than likely air a b-side or album track. Certain songs do end up appearing in multiple shows, but more than likely due to whatever themes I've selected.

That fact has always been in the back of my mind whenever I put on birthday shows. Obviously, during my birthday week I want a show of nothing but my favorite songs of all time, but at the same time I don't want to repeat that same show each and every year. But it dawned on me earlier today that repeating myself once a year is no big deal! Who remembers what I aired a year ago?

Plus, honestly, while I have not doublechecked, I'm sure this year's birthday celebration of my favorite songs is quite unlike previous editions. My tastes are ever-evolving. Some artists have emerged as new favorites. Others have maybe dropped down a peg or two. Plus, I'll admit to purposely selecting different tunes by perennial favorites. Let's be real. I can play almost any song by bands like The Clash or The Ramones...or almost every band in tonight's show.

As for the "52 weeks of Teenage Kicks", I've got a relative rrity from Hagfish. Originally released on 1995's Happiness EP, it also appeared on European versions of their second album, Hagfish Rocks Your Lame Ass. (And since this was my birthday show, I ended the episode with The Undertones original.

4 fucking AM

It's 4 fucking AM. I was ready to go to bed, sleep, 3 hours ago. But my daughter came home anxious b/c she had a panic attack in front of her gf, who calmed her but thought she didn't or something, and there was a lack of communication, so my daughter is overthinking everything. We did get an email written for school; I found out my VA benefits letter was available, but, contrary to what I saw on the website previously, the dependent does have to and can apply for the benefits after all, so that was a month wasted. Eventually she was finally ready to go to her own room...where I stood next to her bed waiting for 45 minutes for her to settle down. She didn't have her charger, so she couldn't turn on her ipad to have her show running. Oh, it's 3:30? I was waiting till 4. Well I need 8 hours of sleep. IF I'm up till 4 then I'm sleeping past noon, and I don't want to do that. Well, now it's past 4 and my melatonin has worn off, and I'm waking up.

I'm really sorry you have massive anxiety. I really am. And I know it's worse for you than for me. But being tired makes me anxious, too, and cranky, and I have homework due tomorrow, and it's Father's Day, so I have to extra spend time with Dad, and make him a cake, and be there for the other kid, and not get so terribly off my sleep schedule b/c I do have to go back to work on Tuesday, and pay bills, and figure out how to pay the bills, and and and my to-do list is like 2 dozen things long. and I want to cry, and I'm my own kind of hormonal, and my brain isn't working ... too much cerebral stuff, not enough physical stuff, but I get so involved with the cerebral stuff that I procrastinate exercise till it's too late, and I want to go see movies in the theater, but I only have my allowance, which I've been spending on lunch b/c fucking motorcycle stuff (more specifically an obsessive impulsive dh who has to buy all the things ASAP). And I can't find the bill/statement that came the other day for the bike. And my elbows hurt, so when I wake up in the morning, having planned to ride my bicycle, I don't want to anymore, but I do.

And everybody waits for me to be available to do things with them, but I will always find ways to fill my time. If a thing isn't scheduled, it won't happen. And maybe I can finally go to sleep, and sleep for only 6 hours? At least I finally watched that next episode of Doctor Who. I need to turn off reddit notifications and uninstall FB. Instagram takes more than enough time; I should unfollow Jamie Lee Curtis - she just posts so much, like 10 times a day, it's half my feed. OK, before I get actually hungry again. ZZZZzzzzzzz

Having a good time but we need to put a few things correct. There are no weasels here I don't know they're always but really these guys are horrible and they're saying it too and they're doing too much to them and they're not getting a damn thing and they need to stop and they can't and won't all that so we have to stop them and this court thing is ridiculous he was indicted and the trial is next year or something or 3 months who cares it's stupid won't even be here so, we got to step up what's going on right now they're talking in the Western hemisphere and like 90% of their bases are out 10% of 20 or 20% or less and their policy off all the small ones and they're going after the rest of the mediums they'll be out tonight for real and they're attacking their areas and they are evacuating and in big numbers it's really huge you think it might be 5% of the populace is evacuating and I think that they have 12% and right now they lost 2% in battles so far so they won't have too much left in the general population mostly on the islands it's going to be a heck of a night it's a lot going on. I looks too and I have the episodes and I can see several of them are underway and will be over possibly tonight and the whole series is pretty big it's skips to that other cartoon which happened after, and there's a whole series of events that happens in these cartoon versions people are losing their torso and getting their heads cut off and bite each other but really it's people against the clones and the clones against others and others against the empire and the empire turns out to be bigger and bigger and you can see it getting bigger and for some reason the clones are treated like the empire a little but it's the empire was Biden and so they may get flushed out of the underworld and it's happening fast and everybody starts fighting the empire and it shows in the movie but they still have other people running that version now they're taking it over and they're still there overrun but it's starting with the warlock now you've seen the orders go out already to take the ships they took and they don't have the entire 900 million they lost 70 million today and 80 yesterday they only have about 400 Days it's going fast to the empire and they are firing more people they only fired what they had planned to but tomorrow they play the fire more. The more like I really pouring it on as Stan is losing is losing ground here and he's losing ground at the mixed basis or his base is really and he's getting beat up. The empire gave the order to start taking ships from the morlock, this will activate the situation with the moloch and Stan inspiring them to try and take more ships.

I was waiting for reports I got new ones and the moment for a factoring 4% from the disemparkment areas and another 4% is waiting to go to those areas that means 8% out of what they're saying is 12 to 15% remaining no theier saying 12% remains. That was only 4% and what I'm seeing they're getting up to go there and Thor Freya say yes and we need a lot of troops there now. That's a major major event and there probably would be a freeze out that's the fact nothing for us

The Glee kids, Mr Shue and myself are sitting in the choir room, waiting for Coach Beiste to arrive.

I'm texting Seb, figuring out our date night for tomorrow when Coach finally shows up.

Mr Shue asks me to put my phone away

Okay, I love you, have fun!

Mr Shue turns around after talking with coach "Alright, Let's get started"

*Bang*

Everyone goes silent

What was that? Was it a firecracker? Did someone drop something?

*Bang*

The second shot confirmed it. There was a shooter inside McKinley.

"Everybody get down! Spread out and hide."

I sit next to Blaine after helping Artie out of his wheelchair.

"Are we even sure those were gunshots?" Blaine asks, not before getting shushed by everyone.

"Here, hey, guys, guys, guys. Start texting, tweeting, let everyone know what's going on. But don't tell them we're here, all right? Shooters have smartphones, too." Mr Shue tells us.

I immediately pull out my phone and call Sebastian. I just need to hear his voice, one more time.

"Hey princess. I'm in Warbler practice right now, is everything alright? I thought you had to go?"

I sniffle, tears starting to run down my face. "Seb, t-there's a shooter in McKinley, I just, I needed to tell you that I love you. And if I don't make it out, promise me that you'll move on."

He's silent on the other line. "There's a school shooter? In McKinley?" I knew that after he said that, all the Warblers would be worried. "Yeah Seb. I-" I'm cut off by the sound of someone running down the hallway. We all flinch as someone tries to open the door, soon after trying the other one.

*Bang*

"Princess, are you alright? What was that!?"

"Someone tried to get into the classroom, listen Seb. My phone is about to die. I just needed to call you and tell you that I love you. I'm sorry I couldn't make date night tomorrow." I can hear him sniffle on the other side of the phone.

"Do not hang up on me Y/N! I can't lose you! You make me a better person! I don't wanna lose you." He breaks down, making me break. The tears are flowing freely now. Blaine looks at me.

"Y/N who are you calling?" I stop, seb now quiet on the other end.

"Uhh, my boyfriend" Everyone who heard looked at me. "You have a boyfriend?" Sam asks.

"Yeah. I do. Look, mon bébé, I love you I-" My phone decides to die.

Sebastian's POV:

"Princess? Y/N!!!" I scream into my phone before throwing it across the room. Trent, Hunter and I all run out of Dalton, straight to McKinley.

Once we get there we see glee people who have already graduated. Hopefully they don't spot us.

My wish was not my command.

"What the hell are you doing here Andrew McCarthy?" I don't answer her, I just keep my eyes on the doors to the school. Hunter answers for me.

""His girlfriend and my best friend is in there." All the glee idiots look confused. "You? Girlfriend? First of all, I thought you were gay. Second of all, who in their right mind would want to date you?"

"Look, Satan, First of all, I'm Bi, not gay. Second, you'd be surprised how much being with her has changed me. I am a better person because of her. so please, leave us alo-"

I don't finish as my gaze lands on her walking out. The other glee kids look at the door and run towards her, Kurt running for Blaine.

"SEBASTIAN!" She yells, racing towards me. All heads turn. "WHAT?" Satan yells. But I don't care, she’s okay.

She jumps into my arms, her legs wrapping around my waist as her head buries itself in my neck. I wrap my arms around her, holding her close.

"You're okay." I say with a small smile, small tears falling. "I'm okay." She sniffles.

"WHAT THE HELL. YOU BETTER GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER MEERKAT OR I WILL GO ALL LIMA HEIGHTS ON YOUR SORRY ASS."

Y/N jumps down. "Santana stop. Please. I love him and he is trying to change. He apologised for what he did, and I know that"

Santana stops in her tracks. “What? With the amount of shit he's done to all of us, you’re really gonna date him? I thought you were smarter than this.”

I notice more tears roll down her face. “I wasn’t gonna mention this, but when my parents were getting a divorce you wanna know who was there? Sebastian. Even when I mentioned it in Glee, no one cared enough to pay attention to me. You all pride yourselves in being a ‘family’, yet you all have favourites. Even Mr Shue. So thank you, because you’ve made me realise that Glee club isn’t a place I want to be if I’m just going to get ignored all the time.”

Everyone. Is. Shocked.

It’s priceless.

“No, Y/N, you can’t leave Glee club. We need your powerful voice.” Mr Shue steps in.

“Mr Shue, you've just proved my point. You only want me in glee for my voice, not for me. I’m quitting Glee. Coach Sylvester has already offered me a spot on her cheerios. Maybe then I’ll find some friends that actually care.”

She just walkes away.

I give the Glee club one last look of distaste before running after Y/N.

“Hey, hey, hey. It’s okay, It’ll be okay. I’ve got you.” She cries into my shoulder. “It’s okay.”

The rest of the evening consists of cuddles, movies and food. And I’m just glad she’s okay.

Something between 1000 and 1200 years before 2012

You were sitting on the soft grass of the Asgardian palace’s garden looking up at the bright stars that lighted the flowers and other beautiful plants. All of the Asgardian court was in the great hall enjoying one of the greatests balls of the year, but it was not the place you wanted to be right now.

Since the only noise that affected that region of the palace was an echo of the loud music played in the ball and the only light came from the stars and the moon, the gardens were the perfect place to be away from that craziness, away from everybody and everything you were tired of.

“Shouldn’t you be inside dancing around?” A voice you knew really well asked out of nowhere, making you jump a little.

“I’m exactly where I should be, Loki.” You said looking back at the sky to avoid his piercing look. “But how about you? Shouldn’t you be thinking about ruling somewhere?”

“You’ve been avoiding me,” He remarked with a bit of sadness in his voice. “You never avoid me."

You turned over your eyes without even giving him a glance. The once calm atmosphere was now overwhelming for you, Loki’s arm almost grazing yours did nothing to calm you the decision you had made early that day.

“It’s…"

“Don’t say ‘it’s something from your head’, because I know that’s the biggest lie. You can't fool me” Loki cutted you a sentence before you even had the chance to talk it off. “I know better than anyone here, so please just tell me the truth!”

The comfortable silence that was common between the two of you weren’t there anymore. The only thing that calmed you was the great amount of stars in the sky, almost calling you to explore them and you just wanted to follow them to learn.

“I want to run away,” You just let it slip out without, not having the energy to hide that from him anymore. Loki looked at you right away with a shocked expression designing his handsome features.

“I beg your pardon?”

“I want to go away from Asgard and it's madness. I was thinking about traveling around the universe, visiting as much of it as I can. I’m not even near one of the greatest warriors. I’m not from a powerful family. I’m just myself and will never be someone like my sister. I’m not even near enough for a ruler and it's not like I really want a kingdom, I just want a happy life.”

“But we are happy,” He said in a low voice, almost inaudible. “We’ll be even more happy by ruling Asgard, Midgard, all of the nine realms together. We’ll be the greatest in the galaxy one day, that’s our dream.”

“Loki, that's your dream.”

“No, we always talked about this. Me and you, king and queen, maybe even emperors…”

“That’s your dream!” You screamed it wanting for him to understand.

“What?” He finally stopped to listen.

“I only agreed to do this because I’d be with you! Not because I would be ‘queen of the nine realms’, but because we would be together above all things!” You busted off the words that were silenced for weeks now. “All I ever want is your love but you seem to forget it every time. All you think nowadays is your master plan to rule everyone and everything, how people are unhappy because of their freedom. Can you tell me how much time we spent together in the last months?” You laughed when he was unable to answer. “You know we don't even talk anymore. I never felt so alone like this, you feel like your brother shadow and I like my sisters but I thought I’d always have you but I don’t! The only thing you talk about is ruling, and that’s when you talk to me because for the past weeks, and I dare to say months, you and I have been far away from your priorities.”

“But, my love, I need to do this for us. The future will be bright. I just need a bit more patience from you until I can make things right. Until we are at the top of the universe together and…”

“I already felt like I was at the top of the universe when I was by your side. When you looked at me with such adoration that I felt like the most precious thing in the nine realms” You muttered. “I don’t feel like that anymore when I’m with you and it hurts like hell.”

“I hope that one day you’ll understand why I’m doing this.”

“And I hope that it won’t be too late when you realise you can find happiness away from power.”

With that being said you raised to your feet and left Loki in the garden, already thinking of where was the furthest place from Asgard you could go and how you could convince Heimdall to keep your location a secret.

2012 (but it’s the TVA so the time is weird)

Loki was overwhelmed with the later events. The TVA, his “greatest hits”, infinity stones as paperweights, no magic to rely on… that was awful to say the least.

With the frustrated escape he was back in that mysterious room that supposedly was showing him his destiny. He didn’t want to accept that he was the one directly responsible for his mother’s death, the one person that was always by his side. Loki decided to learn how to operate that weird machine, pressing a button that made the scene of the Avenger fighting hop forward, passing through his imprisonment and the death of his mom where it paused.

Tears started flooding his eyes now that Agent Mobius wasn’t near him to see it. Loki started to speed up the scenes one more time, pausing at the sight of his father.

“I love you, my sons.”

Loki looked at the screen, that simple statement helped nothing to contain the tears that were threatening to spill from his eyes. He would be loved in the future.

“Remember this place. Home.”

“Loki, I thought the world of you. I thought that we’re going to fight side by side forever.”

Smiling through the tears, Loki felt his heart warming with his brother's statement. The scenery changed but it was still Thor, this time he had an eye patch to distinguish him from the last one.

“Maybe you’re not so bad after all, brother.” Thor said with a small smile lightening his face.

“Maybe not,” The Loki on the screen replied.

“Thank you. If you were really here I could even give you a hug.”

“I’m here.”

Loki’s smile widened a bit, seeing that affectionate moment between him and the brother he always tried to compete with was important. That was when his eyes almost fell off his face with the sight of someone he didn’t expect to be a part of his future.

“Who would have thought that you’d both be so caring towards the other,” You said leaning at the door frame. There were some clean cuts in your cheeks and arms and you were limping as you started to move towards them.

“Should you even be standing?”, Loki rushed to your side to support you with his arms.

“If I shouldn't, do you think I’d be up?”

“Yes.”

He saw you turn away from his preoccupied gaze holding you laugh. You not admitting that he was right seemed to continue a common situation. That Loki helped you to get to a chair in the room and you sat down looking at him with a lipped smile. The one that was watching couldn’t take his eyes off you even if the room started burning.

“What?” He heard himself asking you on the screen, frowning in concern.

“I’m just happy we found our way back to each other.” You said with something that looked a lot like love in your eyes.

“I’m really happy about that, too, my love.”

“And i’s cute seeing you worried about nothing.”

“You got stabbed. How does that fit in the ‘nothing’ category?”

“I survived till now, it's not some living dead sword that is going to kill me.”

“You’re unbelievable.”

“And that’s why you love me...” You grinned at him. Loki rolled his eyes, but he smiled while looking at you kissing his knuckles intertwined with yours.

“Not just because of that”, he muttered before leaning in and kissing you softly.

The scene speeded up again until it stopped at a different scenario. A more chaotic one. Loki could see fire in the back and a hopeless look in his face, like he was powerless towards that situation and he didn't like it. The Loki on the screen drew out a knife, branding it against the enemy but was stopped with what seemed to be the space stone.

“Undying?” Thanos mocked, picking Loki up by his neck. “You should choose your words more carefully.”

A knife was thrown in Thanos' direction from behind, but he stopped that too easily with the power of the two stones he had. Asgardian gods with their knives and hammers never seem to learn. Soon one of his children got hold of you too. Loki could see a nasty bruise in your forehead and blood dripping on your cheek. You looked terrified at him, afraid of what was going to happen to the love of your life.

“I can see that you gods never learn when to stop,” Thanos said in that calm and irritating voice of his. He caught the knife with his free hand while holding Loki by his neck with the other.

“Please, don’t do this!” That was the only thing you thought of screaming until a hand muffled your voice. The cries not as loud as they were supposed to be.

Loki, you and Thor knew that there was nothing to be done. The three norse gods were as helpless as common humans. The mischief god that was sitting in that empty room couldn’t take his eyes off your crying expression, the way you didn’t want to lose him.

“You… will never be… a god.” Those words said with so much effort because the grip on his neck were his last ones, he was sure.

Instead of continuing with his choking Thanos used the knife to kill Loki. Your knife. The weapon that was supposed to save his life was the same that took him from you. There was too much blood so you already knew there was no way when you managed to get to him after Thanos escaped.

“No, don’t you dare to close your eyes!” You said in a warning voice that was breaking, but you still tried to remain strong. “We can still…”

“My love, look at me. Please.” He begged in a weak voice and you did it. His eyes were closing but he needed to say one last thing. “I love you.”

Those were his last words. Loki sat there, seeing you crying hard and Thor coming to your side also with tears filling his eyes.

End of the file.

Loki couldn’t process what he had just seen. A future where he causes pain, suffering and yet is loved by his brother, his father. Loved by you, the person who left him to find yourself but somehow came back to him.

Jungkook decided he was going to see if he could jump over your couch and land perfectly in a seated position.

"Wait, wait, wait. Absolute silence everybody." He says as he's stretched over, trying to estimate the timing and height of his jump. He had always been super athletic and competitive since you two were small, so there was really no changing his mind on this. He always had to prove something, even if that meant creating his own competition of jumping over the couch.

"It's just me and you." You watched him from the kitchen, making sure the pizza in the oven was baking properly.

"I have an audience, okay? Don't be rude, Y/N." He says as he points over to the fake audience clapping and laughing during a 'Friends' episode.

"Whatever, as long as you don't go breaking my shit, Jeon Jungkook." He was 22, but his mentality was 8. That was for damn sure.

"Siiiiiiilence." He says at a whisper, his eyes shut as he puts a finger to his mouth. He lets out a huff and a puff before he gets the courage to throw himself over the couch and land a perfect landing. "And once again, he sticks the landing!" He stands up with his hands up in the air.

"You're annoying." You laughed, getting paper plates ready for the pizza that was about to be done because you were in no mood to do any dishes tonight.

"Thank you! I'll be here again tomorrow, same time." He calls out to his fake audience.

"No the hell you're not."

"Ouch, nevermind. Someone apparently doesn't want me here." You laugh at how dramatic he is. At this point, you just let him be because that was something you always loved about your bestfriend. He embraced the kid in him and always brought good times. You had similarities, but you also had some major differences. You liked being in your comfort zone & you were labeled the innocent nerd amongst your friends. You just like to consider yourself simple, though. A 'take it day by day' kind of person. Kookie was fun, adventurous and childish at times. He was also shy, but loud at the same time? An introverted extrovert, you could say.

But you loved each other nonetheless, that's why you've clicked so well since you were young. You taught each other things & grew together.

"Here, fool." You placed the pizza in front of him with the paper plates.

"Set it up, I'll grab us the drinks. You want anything in particular?"

"That bottle of Stella Rosa, please." JK knew you loved that Stella Rosa, so he happily grabs the bottle and two wine glasses. He plops back next to you on the couch, pouring your glasses and grabbing a heaping serving of 4 slices of pizza.

You both decided you want a good laugh, so you throw on Kevin Hart's newest installment: Zero Fucks Given. It isn't long before you both are rolling on the floor, almost gasping for air at how much you're laughing at Kevin Hart's stand up. The pizza is gone, the wine is gone, and you're still feeling pretty tipsy. The whole thing sounds nice, until your head starts to wonder what Taehyung is doing and if he'll text you to come over tonight. You know he probably already has plans with another chick though, and that hits you.

Curse this fucking alcohol.

Let's get this straight - the only time you 'talk' is when he's trying to fuck.

And yes bitch, you let him do this to you. You're out that door before you can even fully slip your shoes on. Dick is just that good. It's something about Taehyung that makes you addicted. The way he gives you a stupid ass smirk when he opens his door, the way he touches your skin and gently lays his shit on you until you both become really invested in the moment. So invested that shit hits the roof. It gets messy. It gets rough. It becomes unspeakable.

You aren't friends. No one knows about you two, or that you even know the other exists. You don't know shit about each other. The only thing you know is that he's fucking other girls. He has a whole roster, you'd imagine - a starting five, at least.

He doesn't care about you, and for the most part, you don't either. At least, that's what you like to portray because it's been some months now since this whole thing started and you can't help but feel some kind of emotional tie to him. You're leaving your house between 12-2am in the morning and sleeping in his bed until 6-7am. It's a routine; a routine you've become used to. You skip out on some late night kick-its with your friends cause you anticipate a text to come through from him.

But, he doesn't care. You aren't the only female slipping into those sheets, and boy does it fucking make it hard to swallow. Reality hits hard when you think about it and you feel this huge pit in your stomach. You try to be different, you try to stand out one way or another. But it doesn't work that way. You knew what this entailed going into it, so it makes zero sense as to why you're hurting and getting jealous from time to time.

You know it still doesn't matter to him.

He's only fucking you over cause you let him. You know damn well you're not gonna change and let this go, though. You love thrill of it too much. It's the most thrill your life has had. You're not perfect and you're only human. You make mistakes, but this one definitely puts the cherry on top. Because not only do you refuse to learn, but you let it repeat itself over and over again.

"Aishhhh, my stomach hurts from laughing too much." Jungkook laid his head back and patted his belly. "But that was good though. I needed that."

"Yeah it was. Thanks for coming by to watch that with me, Kook." He tilts his head over to look at you and smiles.

"Sure thing." He checks his phone and sits up. "Yoongi is blowing up the group chat." You check your phone to see multiple unread messages from none other than Min Yoongi himself.

[yoongi] 10:37pm: aye

[yoongi] 10:45pm: all of a sudden, everyone is ghost in this group chat?! you all had a lot to say not too long ago.

[yoongi] 10:52pm: even though you guys are fake as fuck, does anyone wanna come with me to the bars tonight? meet at my place so we can head out.

You and Jungkook laughed at how butthurt Yoongi was in the groupchat. Yoongi definitely was the most serious and blunt one in your group, but he still liked to party and have a good time. It was just how he was. Hoseok was always full of energy and probably the most extroverted one out of all 4 of you. He was never shy. You and Jungkook met Yoongi and Hoseok your first year in college and became inseparable ever since. You all just click with your different attributes.

[jungkook] 10:53pm: lmaoooooooo

[yoongi] 10:53pm: fuck you dude lol

[jungkook] 10:54pm: i'll come through in a sec, i'm at y/n's right now. not sure if she's gonna come though?

[y/n] 10:55pm: i'll pass, i'm tired and wined out.

[hoseok] 10:55pm: ahahahah yoongi shut up, blowing up my phone for no reason. i'm passing on tonight too. im tired from working that overtime *cries*

"Fuck I regret this, I'm gonna die." Jungkook laughed as he stood up and stretched. He quickly helped you clean up before he figured it was time to go or else Yoongi would have a fit.

"I feel like it has to do with that one girl he's been talking to on and off."

"Perhaps." Jungkook shrugged before putting on his shoes. "We shall see." he sighs before giving you a tight hug. "You sure you don't wanna come out?"

"Nope."

"You don't even have plans tonight."

"Yes I do."

"Doing what?"

"Laying in bed." Jungkook snorted as you shook your head and shrugged. What else did he think you were trying to do? He should know you by now, at the very least.

"Alright, I'm not even going to argue. I'm off."

"Be safe, have fun, text me if you both need anything, okay?" He nods as he shuts the door, leaving you to your lonesome. You swirled the teeny tiny drop of wine leftover in your glass around before picking up your phone.

No new texts. Well, let's be specific: no new texts from taehyung.

You did forget to respond to your oldest cousin though, when he was just trying to check up on you.

He was damn near 30 years old and hated talking on the phone so much that he decides to blow up your phone this way. But, he was the cousin you loved dearly and you had a very tight, sibling-like relationship with him. He was like the older brother you've always wanted. He watched you grow, protected you, kept you safe, supported you and cheered you on - especially when your family talked so much shit about how you and him weren't gonna get anywhere with your goals. You know, the fucking stupid ol' saying of 'chasing your passion isn't going to bring you money & wealth.' Your family was all about the titles and money, but Jin was passionate about cooking and wanted to open his own cafe. You, on the other hand, wanted to pursue your art. Jin was the biggest role model for you because he was the first to defy your family's wants and wishes. He was the black sheep of the family with a huge 'I don't give a fuck' mentality and he taught you that along the way.

Don't ever be afraid to do what you're passionate about. Fuck 'em.

And so, that's what you did. You got yourself all ready for bed, believing you wouldn't be leaving your house tonight. You pampered yourself, put on a face mask and got yourself all lathered up in lotion just to lay down. You're in Jungkook's shirt that he left behind (and never looked for, so technically it's yours now) when the guys had stayed the night and some Vicky Secret panties.

You're scrolling through your Instagram feed, seeing Jungkook's newly posted story with him and Yoongi already at the bars, acting a damn fool. You laughed at the video he took of Yoongi trying to dance in a tight, awkward space on the crowded dance floor even though he was never the best at dancing. It lowkey made you wish you went out with them so you wouldn't be stuck here thinking about your feelings and how lonely these hours get.

And then you see Jimin's story from an hour ago. He knew you were friends with Yoongi, and although Yoongi wasn't fond of their group too much, he was still an avid party-goer and mingled with people there. You've only spoken to Jimin once because you had to work with him in the same group on a class assignment. You tried to keep it that way though because he was Taehyung's bestfriend. They went everywhere together, did everything together. He, too, was very popular among the ladies and across campus. I guess it was just their thing.

You assume they were at a party cause Jimin quickly flashes the camera at Taehyung, who's in front of him getting a lapdance from some chick. Jimin quickly turns the camera back to his face as he's laughing uncontrollably then abruptly cuts it off.

Great.

She's forsure going home with him tonight.

You set your phone down on the night stand and put on a show on your laptop to help you fall asleep.

Just as you're about to get some shut eye, your phone vibrates. You let it slip at first because you thought it could be one of the guys playing around, but it vibrates again, signaling another text coming through. You pick up your phone just to make sure Yoongi and Jungkook aren't in any trouble and need you to bail their asses out.

[taehyung] 12:17am: hey

[taehyung] 12:20am: come over.

You scoff at how he assumes you're still up and that you'd be coming over. You hated that. He knew he just had your ass.

I've decided to watch MacGyver from the beginning (again), and I'm live tweeting the experience with every tweet tagged with #savemacgyver. I thought it would be fun to share my collected thoughts from the episodes on here as well.

My Thoughts on S1E2, "Metal Saw"

Seriously love the music in this show!

THE FREAKING BELT GRAB. You can tell they've done this kind of thing before.

I always love it when Jack and Mac have heart-to-hearts in the middle of super intense, dangerous situations. Like... it's sweet, but time and place, guys?

"Hi, I'm Jack." Nervous Jack is bebby.

Ew, sweat. Like, I know it's "realism" to have sweat stains on clothes in situations like these, but that's one bit of realism I can always do without. Gross.

Is that a bit of PTSD I'm seeing with Mac there on the couch? That's a kind of realism I can always get behind.

Riley finding Mac and Boze in that compromising position will never not be funny. "But he was on top." I love Riley more every episode.

Riley is a really good liar from day one.

I love the joke about ex-cons benefiting from being in relationships with stable people (i.e., fake boyfriend Bozer), then the immediate cut to Bozer with his whole arm inside the vending machine. Great stuff.

Love the Riley and Bozer bonding... right up until the cringe-tastic "Slide me your digits."

"Soon, I'm gonna woo you the same way Romeo would have wooed Juliet if they had Snapchat back in the Renaissance." Bozer and his surprisingly accurate pickup lines. The Renaissance did in fact start in Italy around the 14th century, when R&J is thought to take place.

I love all this psychoanalyzing of Mac. "Adapting is his survival mechanism." Also I'm living for Jack sticking up for Mac to Patti.

"This place has been searched by everybody and their dog." Is this a Texas thing or an old guy saying? Either way it's great.

Nothing beats the early days of Mac and Jack. Nothing. I wish we had gotten more interactions where Jack has to parent Mac: "Stop touching that. Look at me." ❤️❤️❤️

Jack so concerned about Mac and putting on the kid gloves = everything I could have ever asked for and more.

Jack has such a big heart. Poor guy, the look on his face when he sees that the reporter is actually Sarah...

Paperclip sculptures: When I first started watching the show, I thought they were lame. Now I miss them so much. Does that mean I've gotten lamer or that they were always cool and I was always lame?

"Closest time I ever came to coming home in a box." Oof. This line hits different now, and not in a good way.

I just love how Jack is this big tough ex-Delta who is so open about his emotions, particularly with Mac. And the way Mac reassures him... Their bromance is top-tier.

"Oh, like when they invented fire!" Another zinger.

Mac grabbing that giant cigar right out of that dude's mouth 😂😂😂

Love some good fight-scene Mac whump! 👏👏👏 And bar fights are always a blast!

Riley with the car door - such a boss. "What? You told me to stay in the car, and I did."

I've seen some people say they don't like S1 Mac's hair. I kind of dig it, to be honest. He looks like he's 5, but I love it.

Mac has made a lot of DIY cutting torches in his time, but they never get less impressive.

Jack trusting Mac to save Sarah while he keeps watch is just *chef's kiss*!

These early episodes have so many MacGyverisms. One right after the other. It's awesome.

I've never been a big fan of the dark either, Mac.

The first scene with Mac and Sarah is so beautifully tense and whumpy (he way he scrabbles for purchase, gasps for breath, that hitch in his voice as he tries to squeak out Jack's name) that I had to rewind and watch it again.

The hopeful disbelief in her voice: "Jack Dalton came for me?"

Sarah can kick some serious ass. I can see why Jack likes her. Too bad she's about to lead him on the rest of the episode, while actually having a fiance...

Sarah: *leans out of car, shooting her weapon with deadly, terrifying precision* Riley: I agree, this woman should not have kids. 😂 Everything that comes out of Riley's mouth is gold.

Riley asleep in the back of the car while Mac sits quietly and Jack and Sarah have a sweet moment is like mom and dad with the kids in the backseat. Except mom has a fiance and hasn't told dad yet, even though she's had ample opportunity.

Because seriously, Sarah. It's not that hard to tell him the truth. Giving him those big eyes and flirting with him, thinking he has a chance is just cruel. I have never liked her character, and this is why.

Mac and Jack giggling about Jack's crush on Sarah like middle-school girls is life.

"You're just gonna have to let that go." Man, I love their relationship.

Gosh, the scene where they find Luis always hurts so badly. These early episodes did not play around.

"There isn't always time to beg some suit back home for permission to do what's right." I'm not a fan of Sarah, but I love this line. Also, this is pretty much the synopsis of the whole show.

Riley's hair used to be so LONG! 😍

The loyalty of these three! And I love the OG trio so much.

This sleazy guy in the computer place makes my skin crawl.

Love how Patti's like, "Mac will be back by then." Not Jack, not Riley. Just Mac. Can we say teacher's pet? I actually lowkey love this though.

"Who is this guy?" Much like Doctor Who's "It's bigger on the inside," I never get tired of people being equally amazed and confused at the stuff Mac can do.

I've never been the biggest car chase junkie, but Barrios jumping over the car using that log in the road is pretty dope.

Sarah's rage is chilling. And Jack talking her down breaks me every time.

Again, I love the loyalty of our team. Everyone sticks up for each other, ending with Mac's totally unbelievable but still somehow 100% genuine "It was me. I forced them." TOO good.

First mention of Oversight this early. Just thinking about who it is that doesn't like unsanctioned ops just makes me 😤 I wonder if the writers knew who OS was at this point or if it was a later development.

I do wish we could have gotten more conspiratorial, approving Patti. She's so much better than expressionless, bland Patti.

The way Sarah never told Jack about her fiance Jeff (who is in fact a cinnamon roll but still a discount Jack) pisses me off. "I tried to tell you." Yeah, right. It's not that hard to say, "Yo, I'm in a relationship."

Jack NEVER should have found out about Jeff the way he did. There's no excuse.

It's not okay, Jack. She did you wrong. You didn't deserve that. Stand up for yourself, man. Gosh, he's so broken here, and I hate it.

"At least we have each other... Don't look at me. I know how weird it sounded." THESE TWO I SWEAR 🤣🤣🤣

Poor Mac. I do love how we get his obsessive tendencies so early in the show, and how they keep coming back, even as late as season 5. As someone with clinically diagnosed OCD, this makes me feel seen and I love being able to relate to my favorite character.

Love the found family antics at the end. Riley and Bozer making dinner while Mac and Jack play basketball? Perfection.

Lol, Bozer calling Riley a "caramel goddess" has such Schmidt/Cece vibes from New Girl, and I dig it!

Ew. More sweat. I know some people find sweaty men attractive, but that is NOT my vibe. I prefer my men clean and freshly laundered.

The way Riley glances back over her shoulder at them as she walks away, as if to make sure they're really there, that this is actually real!!!

"That's not even... that's true, actually. That's sad." Jack 🤣 Also, "I'm hungry." Big mood.

As a Grandpa Harry stan from the OG show, I eat up any mention of him in the new one. I just wish we'd gotten more of that wonderful man in the reboot. Still, I'll take what I can get!

I'd honestly forgotten how much I enjoy this episode! So solid, full of bromance, found family, and lots of good-natured bickering. Can't wait to watch the next one, hopefully tomorrow! In the meantime, please keep fighting for our show! Together we can #savemacgyver!
