Fighting For Our Lives - Part I
Steve Harrington x gn!reader
request: Your request status isn’t on your page so idk if they’re open or not, but if they are, could you write something about reader protecting the kids from billy in the season 3 fight? And like getting the crap beaten out of her before Steve steps in and then fights billy and max knocks billy out, etc. just an idea, it’s probably have protective Steve and some good hurt/comfort.
Ty!
Thank you so so much for this request. Honestly, didn’t really know what to write but once I started, omg did the words just start flowing. So this is a two-parter. This one shows more of the action and violence with the comfort happening in the next part. A lot of confusing things will make sense in the next part 👀 Buckle up folks, it’s time to get your fight on...
summary: Season 2 Fight with Billy. A few hours ago, you thought a demogorgon only existed in D&D, how wrong you were. And now you’re here, fighting side-by-side with the people you would happily die protecting, and the one person you truly cared for.
warnings: violence, angst, fighting, injuries, swearing, eventual!hurt/comfort, protective!Steve, badassery everywhere

There was a plan.
As the two cars pulled off the driveway, you kept relaying it over and over again in your head.
There was a plan.
A plan that was going to work.
Had to work.
And it was fucking bonkers.
You stood on the Byers’ porch surrounded by kids who were too young to be experiencing so much death and danger and pain. God, when you were there age you were just thinking about getting to high school, the confusing nature of adolescent bots and which film to rent with your mom on the weekend. But here they were, risking their lives day in and day out and no one would ever know.
You didn’t until about 5 hours ago when you’d gone to meet Nancy about the latest homework assignment and stumbled across Dustin, in his more-than-usual but slightly worse panicky state, and Steve holding a dainty bouquet of flowers. And so, you made sure they were ok, as you always do. The freaked out looks they gave back should’ve been the first clue that shit was going down. You had no idea what you walked into, but you in no way imagined that this is where it would led you to.
The six of you stood there, just staring as the cars backlights slowly disappeared down the dirt road. You realised there was no going back, no changing any of this. You just had to stay put and hope and pray it worked out. Cause if it didn’t… well, you weren’t ready to see what would happen.
Steve could sense the panic as your breathing quickened, becoming shallower by the minute. And when he looked over at you, he could see the tension emanating in your shoulders and forehead. He couldn’t help but worry that he had dragged you into this whole mess. This big, ugly, fucked-up mess.
Your thoughts swam in circles in your brain, slowly growing and inching deeper minute by minute. But a light touch to your hand brought you out of the whirlpool and as you looked up, you locked eyes with Steve. He felt the same way. The drowning. He understood.
You weren’t alone.
‘Is this really necessary?’
You heard Steve and Dustin bickering in the kitchen whilst trying to shove the dead, monster thing in the freezer. In front of you, Max and Lucas were sweeping up the glass shards from the floor and Mike was pacing like a mad man.
You knew why. He was going crazy, he’d just got Eleven back. Back from the dead no less. And now she was gone again on a mission that seemed as close to a death wish as you could get. But they were just kids, how could they know feelings like this.
You’d babysat most of these guys when they were babies. And now, seeing them here. Dealing with all of this, it scared you. More than you’d like to admit.
‘Mike, would you just stop already?’
Lucas’ outburst brought you back from the depths of your overthinking brain.
‘You weren’t in there ok, Lucas. That lab is swarming with hundreds of those dogs-’
‘DEMO-DOGS!’ Dustin corrected him from the kitchen. Now really was not the time for that.
You let out a small sigh and walked towards Mike, resting your hand on his arm. ‘The chief will take care of her Mike, you know he will.’ You began moving it up and down in an attempt to comfort him. This always worked when they were younger, so maybe it would help him now too.
‘Like she needs protection.’
‘Max…’ you breathed.
Steve came in from the kitchen, swinging a towel around in his hand. ‘Listen, dude, a coach calls a play in a game, bottom line, you execute it. All right?’
There he was, that good old Steve Harrington attitude. And for a second you felt safer, like everything that was happening wasn’t leading to the end of the world. But truthfully, you knew you couldn’t feel that way right now: ‘This isn’t really the time for sports analogies Steve…’
‘Exactly.’ Mike pointed to you with an outstretched hand. ‘And we’re not even on the game or on the bench-’
‘That wasn’t really what I meant.’ You took your hand off Mike and placed it over your eyes. These kids.
Steve stammered, ‘So my point is-’ You swore his eyes locked yours, searching for comfort, before they began flickering around the room. For a solid second, you all stood there. You and these four kids waiting for Steve Harrington to try and wiggle his way out of this one. ‘Right, yeah, we’re on the bench, so, uh,’ a smirk graced your lips, he was struggling against middle schoolers, ‘there’s nothing we can do.’
With a finality to his voice, he whipped the towel over his shoulder and your smirk became a full-on smile. How long had he been doing this type of thing with these kids? Cause he had the suburban-mom thing down.
‘That’s not entirely true.’
You all turned round to Dustin as he spoke.
‘I mean, these Demo-dogs, they have a hive mind. When they ran away from the bus, they were called away-’
‘So if we get there attention-’ Lucas.
‘Maybe we can draw them from the lab-’ Max.
‘Clear a path to the gate-’ Mike.
‘Yeah and then - WE ALL DIE.’
‘- We all die.’ You and Steve both said at the same time. Huh, maybe you guys had a hive mind. ‘I swear, you kids can be so smart and so stupid all at the same time. Truly, it’s quite frightening.’ You spoke to all of them. ‘Can you not see the danger or are you all too stubborn enough to care? We will all die.’
‘Well that’s your point of view.’ You gave Dustin a swift look and he immediately found a more interesting spot on the floor to look at.
Steve opened up his arms, the babysitter mode really taking over now. For some reason you felt your cheeks flush slightly. ‘No that’s not a point of view, man. That’s a fact.’
‘I GOT IT.’ Mike yelled and pushed his way through the group towards the kitchen. You began to follow before you spotted something from outside the window. You began walking towards the window slowly whilst the group clamoured around the house.
A light in the distance.
‘Hey, hey, HEY! This is not happening.’ Steve’s shouting and clapping made you turn back around. Mike went to interject but Steve took none of it this time. ‘No, no, no, no, no. No buts.’ That heat in your cheeks began to rise again, your heartbeat skipping a little. Damn, did you find this sexy. ‘I promised to keep you shitheads safe, and that’s exactly what I plan on doing.’
And the hands on the hips just made you want him just that little bit more.
‘We’re staying here. On the bench.’
Ok, the return of the sports analogy slammed you back into reality. Turning towards the window. The light you had seen earlier was now approaching. Fast.
‘Steve…’
‘And we’re waiting for the starting team to do their job.’
‘Steve?’ You kept trying to get his attention.
‘Does everybody understand that?’
‘This isn’t a stupid sports game.’ You began walking backwards, not taking your eye off the window.
‘I said does everybody understand that?’
‘Steve.’ This man.
‘I need a yes.’
‘STEVE!’ You pushed his elbow.
He finally turned around. As he did so he saw what you were looking at. The car speeding toward the house. A loud engine revved and the kids all came rushing over.
Max’s eyes widened and her breathing became uneven. ‘Max,’ you asked whilst placing a hand on her shoulder, ‘what is it?’
‘It’s my brother. He can’t know I’m here. He’ll kill me. He’ll kill us.’
At that moment, you and Steve looked at each other. You knew you had seconds to decide a plan of action but the determination in his eyes let you know he had a plan. And you weren’t gonna like it one bit.
You finally got it. The insane panic Mike felt earlier. Once Steve walked out of the front door. You got it. Not knowing what was happening. How they were. It could make you crazy.
You shouldn’t have got it, but you did. You and Steve had been getting closer. Something during this last year changed him. Whether it was his toxic relationship with Nancy or something else, you hadn’t known. Now you guessed it was all this, the putting his life in mortal danger everyday. That would really humble a guy.
Him and Nancy were amazing, just not amazing together. And it wasn’t until Nancy had started whatever-this-thing-was with Jonathon and given you the all-clear, even-though you insisted you didn’t need it (you absolutely, 100%, un-categorically didn’t like him like that), that you even admitted to yourself that Steve was becoming someone you wanted to know. Wanted to spend time with. In a more than friends way.
So you were here. In the Byers’ house. Trying to get four kids away from a big-ass window whilst finally understanding the sheer terror Mike had felt.
‘Come on guys, please. Just get away from the window.’ You tried to convince them not to pry or look but all your efforts were either ignored or met with pre-teen grunts.
‘Please!’ you shout-whispered, ‘Steve’s sorting it can you just-’
‘Shit! Did he see us?’
‘DUSTIN! What just happened?! Is he ok?’ You clamoured your way over to the window. Once you got there, you saw Billy beating the absolute crap out of Steve. All you wanted to do was run out there and save him. Beat the living daylights out of that badass-wannabe prick. But you had to protect the kids. That was what Steve had wanted you to do. So you damn well were gonna do it.
‘Come on, we gotta go.’ You rounded up the kids, your hands on Max and Lucas’ backs.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, you all turned around to face it and there he was. You whipped your arms out in front of the kids, holding them behind you.
Billy’s face burst into an evil smirk as his eyes flickered around before finally falling on you.
‘Y/N! What a pleasant surprise!’He took two, way too casual steps forward. ‘I shouldn’t be surprised really though. Harrington’s always got his little side piece around.’
Your heart-rate quickened and if looks could kill, he would already be five feet under when you were done with him. ‘Billy, you better get out of here or-’
‘Or what? You gonna beat me up? Yeah, your boyfriend just tried that… didn’t work out too well for him.’ He took two more steps forward, mere inches away from your face. You could smell the cigarette on his breath, warm and stale.
Before you knew it, you swung at him. Punching him square in the nose. The surprise of the action pushed him back a few steps. You released a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You pushed the kids further into the kitchen. They tried to push back, not wanting to leave you alone with him.
‘Guys, get out of here.’
‘Yeah, you better send them away,’ Billy regathered his balance as he lifted up his arms into a fight stance, ‘you don’t want them seeing this.’
It all kind of blurred. For the first few hits, you managed to dodge, the old football games with your brother when you were younger coming in handy. But it went downhill fast. Too fast for your liking. Cause when one minute you were standing up, the next you were on the floor. The world covered in a red filter as the blood pooled out from your eyebrow.
His foot slammed into your stomach. ‘Kids,’ you croaked out, ‘GO!’
You turned your face so you could see them going to get away. They were going to be ok.
At least that’s what you thought before the prick picked Lucas up by the neck.
‘NO!’ You screamed. But a solid kick to the stomach once again shut you up.
‘Lucas Sinclair. What a surprise.’
‘Billy, let him go! Go away!’ Max was whacking her brothers arms, trying to get him to let go of Lucas. You tried to push off the ground, your arms shaking as you did. He swung his head round to face her.
‘I thought I told you to stay away from him Max.’ He breathed in. ‘You disobeyed me. And you know what happens when you disobey me.’ Sharply, he moved his head back to focus on Lucas. ‘I break things.’
They were all shouting now. Lucas being pushed further into the kitchen.
Clashing glasses. ‘STOP!’ Crashing plates. ‘BILLY!’
With your last bit of energy, you pushed off the ground with everything you had. You were about to fall onto the floor face first again when you felt an arm take your weight. You looked up. And he was there.
For a second, your mind played through all the times you’d seen Steve. All the moments you were truly taken aback by him. And right now, his face seemed to make the world that much brighter. Or that was the concussion settling in.
He sat you upright before looking over you. Terror covering his features.‘Shit, Y/N, are you-’
‘The kids.’
You pointed towards the kitchen and he ran in.
‘So dead, Sinclair! You’re dead!’
‘No. You are.’ You heard the fight begin in the kitchen. You focused on getting up, they needed your help. These kids couldn’t fight Billy, even-though you’re 1000% sure they wanted to, and there was no way you were gonna leave Steve to fight this alone. You were in this together.
You got up. Feet meeting the floor that was still littered with smashed glass.
You heard a plate smash from the kitchen, a loud punch followed swiftly by Steve falling into the room.
Without hesitation, you ran infront of him. Arms ready to fight this son-of-a-bitch.
Billy pause. ‘Sweet.’ Then he smacked his head into yours. You stumbled backwards heavily. At that moment, Steve took his chance and swung at Billy, hitting him right in the jaw. Whilst the dizziness was not good, it was worth it if it gave Steve a fighting chance.
That feeling was short-lived as Billy planted his elbow into Steve’s head sending him straight onto the floor.
‘STEVE!’ The way his name left your lips. The scream. You didn’t even know you could make a sound that held such pain.
You made your way towards the kids. You didn’t want them to see this, you had to turn them away. But as you did, you spotted it.
The needle.
You and Max shared a look. You took the syringe in your hand and plunged it into his neck cleanly. Max strode towards Steve’s baseball bat, holding it strongly in her two hands.
‘The hell is this? What did you do?’ Billy cackled and fell to the floor. Max stood over him, bat in the air ready to strike.
‘From here on out, you leave me and my friends alone. Do you understand?’
‘Screw you.’ She swung, the screws of the bat embedding themselves into the floorboards. Right near his crown jewels. That’s my girl.
‘Say you understand! Say it! Say it!’
‘I understand’
‘What?’
‘I understand.’
And just like that, the fight was over. Billy finally passed out and you all stood there in shock at what just happened.
Quickly, you ran over to Steve who had also passed out on the floor. The two of you must look like a right old pair. Matching black eyes and nosebleeds for the win. But as you pushed his hair back off of his face, you just wish that none of this had happened. That you could’ve helped him more. Cause as you pulled him onto your lap, you didn’t know what to do next.
But as you sat there, assessing his injuries, you heard the jingling of keys. Looking up, you saw Max holding Billy’s car keys up before saying:
‘Let’s get out of here.’

As I have said before. I am done. I can’t. I can’t watch it and I am not going to even watch season 4. It’s too heartbreaking and I have no fucking hopes for season 5. I just watched Will and Mike’s clip in the van , the Mike el forehead touch and Mike monologue and I can’t believe they can hate a character to this degree.
I feel like they had too many ideas and instead of keeping it simple and core to the main characters they tried to do too many different things from different references (remember the white board with all movie names they took their so called inspiration from) that it turned into a big flop.
To have an unrequited love is fine
To have an unrequited gay love is also fine
But in this situation with everything that we have seen so far from season 1
IT IS NOT FINE
The whole thing doesn’t make sense. Mike wheeler doesn’t make sense. His character went from the leader, the protector, the person who could tell Will was alive by just his breathing, the person who knew his mood or if he was okay is now a prop for Eleven, he didn’t even questioned why Will is crying, didn’t even noticed ???? And actually smiled when Will said El needs you. I can’t !!!! Mike’s character couldn’t be more degressed they made him into a pathetic asshole who is like a jerk to his best friend of 10 years apparently for no reason and the only problem he has is telling eleven I love you back
The whole Eleven’s development till Season 4 Vol1 flushed down the drain by getting back together with Mike because of his love for her.
And I can’t even formulate about Will, the once Main Character reduced to a gay pining selfless boy who only touches his neck when he senses vecna. He has been through so much so so much and he thinks he is a mistake 💔
This all is just lazy ass writing trying to keep your audience (mileven shippers) happy. Everything boiling down to that lousy, zero genuine Mike monologue and they called that his best acting !
They used Will’s feelings to push Mike and Eleven together. They treated Will’s character and his feelings like shit. He opened his entire heart to Mike ! Told him he is the heart of the group all so that Mike can tell Eleven I love you. I hate this. They treated his character like shit, his feelings were like device to prove mileven is endgame. It already was !!!! They both are dating for two seasons now. They made him so miserable.
And I with my own two eyes saw the swing set in vol1 I was not tripping. I mean how that painting changed
I give up. I got way too attached. My mistake.
I have never been queerbaited before this was my first time and I can’t handle it tbh.
This is homophobic and queerbaiting to the next level
I honestly believed Byler was real. Will deserves so much, I can see that he is going to sacrifice in the future. He basically did that now in season 4 for Mike to be with El
I learnt my lesson the hardest way possible
And yes it’s queerbaiting !!!
I mean the actors are telling one thing in the interviews and series is completely different
Finn was like “Mike is trying to be normal and is in to new things “ and Mike’s entire I love you monologue to Eleven was fucking forced ! So forced!
Duffers said “ he was given some hard hitting stuff. His best acting” wtf
Duffers said “the painting is important they had several drafts.” In vol1 i could see the swing set with my own two bloody eyes but it is not swing set it is something else”
Duffers said “Will’s sexuality will be addressed” I am like where?
Welcome to American media. Here they show that they're inclusive but no our main cast is obviously CIS het people. Cuz omg are you kidding me?
This morning Netflix crashed so they got the money alright
I don’t have it in me to watch stranger things anymore I think I know where they are going with this.
I am hoping and I will happy if Will turns out to be a villain
I am going to be in Byler land reading fics and just whatever happened today didn’t happened
And for the record I am straight, I just fell in love with Will’s character and then realized Byler while watching. And I have queer friends and people in my family who do think the same thing and ship Byler. [ I had made a post about how I started shipping Byler. I was hesitant to put it out. But if you’re interested in reading I will upload it ]
So no you guys here are not delusional at all. If I could see it, anyone can. It’s common sense and following the story it doesn’t have to be some kind of lens.
Either Noah and Finn are crushing over each other or Duffers are coward and chickened out. If they did, they are stupid enough to not realize the gold mine they were sitting on.
That’s it for my rant.

So I read your fic 'darling, all the while' and I loved it! The angst, the tension between Mike and Will was so so good...I felt it in my bones. Since there is a dearth of Mike's POV in ST in the later seasons, it was such a relief to read what he is feeling, through your story.
I love it when writers give an idea what the characters were listening/ watching... so thank you for introducing me to Jo Stafford's music (and will soon get to The Lost Boys). You are a kind soul. Also, it is so clever of you to include a movie with a Michael, to add to the drama! Love your brain!
I would like to quote my favorite lines:
"It looks like something Will would like to paint." I love that Mike is reminded of Will when he sees something so simple that Will would like or paint.
"It’s just Will." I loved the rhythm and the beat to this whole portion where he is calming his nerves down. You captured Mike's so emotions well.
"Everything feels softer around Will, even Mike. Especially Mike, with his middle child attention-seeking rowdiness and all his sharp angles.   Sometimes he’s afraid to cut right through Will, hold tight enough to crack, to break. He’s done that before. He's hand-picking his words now, dulling his edges, carving a path for his heart to spill freely because Will Byers deserves nothing less. Because despite everything there’s still a softness and a warmth to him where anyone else would have gone jagged-edged and cold." The imagery associated with Mike and Will is so well connected to their characters. Yes, anyone else would have reacted coldly and lost hope, but not our dear Will.
"Mike’s the cloak of shadows it takes for Will’s light to shine." The D&D language shining through here.
"It’s in car-crash moments like these, sudden and heartstopping, that Mike asks himself how he could ever be so blind." Oh, you seriously put car-crash with heartstop, I see, I see what you did there.
"A soft tap catches his attention and Mike looks up in the direction of El’s bedroom window – she’s there in a flowery summer dress, waving and smiling at him" Even in a 5 second appearance, El is so charismatic.
"It feels prophetic in a way, foretelling. There’s a storm coming and there’s a storm inside Mike, too. He hopes it’s not foreboding, too, refuses to believe he might have read any of this wrong, that lighting is gonna crash down and so are they. Crash and burn." I love when writers are able to connect the weather with the emotions of the characters. So beautiful.
"It makes him feel nauseous and brings a dull ache in his bones, an echo of all that he has broken and cracked to fit in his assigned Mike Wheeler-shaped space. Makes him feel like the bad guy, like a bad person." Omg, the angst in the words!
"Like cloud watching laying on soft green grass, like running barefoot in an open field during a storm, drenched to the bone with a metal heart in your ripped-open chest and one hundred percent chance of being struck by lightning.)" How are you creating magic with your words, cherryisgone?
" Mike’s heart feels brittle; it feels like a crime scene: caught in love, all glowing red and blue with sirens going off in the distance." Oh Mike!!!! I understand how you feel!
"He’s openly staring – there’s no denying what he’s doing, his shamelessness." Wow Mike, I didn't think you had it in you.
"And it’s exhilarating, sends sparks from the tip of his fingers up to his heart like touching naked wires." Awwww...
A one person staring contest is going on, Omg! I love this part!
"He’s tired of carrying these feelings around – heavier than stones and lighter than birds, always trying to flee away from his hands, his ribs too loose to hold them in any longer." The heaviness of those feelings are so apt!
You know, I would thought that Will would be concerned that Mike doesn't stand too much in the rain, but I love this teasing version of Will more! "Will parts his lips in mock surprise, raises his eyebrows in fake concern, “Really?” His eyes twinkle. Brat."
"How Will can go from a flustered mess to movie star beautiful just leaning out a car window is beyond Mike." Will is too beautiful Mike, always has been.
The lines you picked for the summary are the best!! So angsty!
"His voice is pulled too tight at the edges, but only because Mike knows where to look, otherwise Will sounds unaffected. It infuriates him suddenly, anger sparks hot-red in his stomach at how damn good Will Byers is at pretending, hiding, saying without saying." Will is so good at hiding, I love how you weaved the canonical things about Will into this so well.
"He wants to trash the hermetic doors of Will’s mind." I like this word hermetic... sounds so apt for Will.
"My hands were there, too. It’s a ridiculous thought." That's so sweet, Mike! Exactly how a new lover would have thought.
"(He knows why Will’s not saying anything. It’s because there’s nothing left for him to add, nothing to draw from the bottom of the well; everything’s been left spilled and running on dusty desert ground from the hood of a junkyard car. Bleeding in the back of a stuffy pizza van; flooding the floor of a blood-splattered skating rink.)" Oh no, you are making me cry!
"Even when the earth was shifting beneath them and the ground was opening to pull them apart Mike still knew Will; knew all his soft spots, knew where to hit to cause critical damage, how to draw the most blood. A vein pulses inside him, pumps shame and regret thick as mud." So much power in one person's hand!
"You. Plain and simple, written in Mike’s messy handwriting and underlined twice floating in the too-much, too-little space between them." I love it when writers focus on writing as part of the character's inner monologue, since Mike is a writer, so apt here.
I love actual conversation scenes between characters- discussion on flying is so interesting, even though it is small.
I loved how you placed Mike's memory of his mother singing here and then he starts flirting with Will. I love how you bring in the lyrics later in the story.
" he never meant to be this cruel to Will, to prod at his heart with the morbid curiosity of a child playing with roadkill."
"He wants to say too many things, wants to slam the door open and stand in the rain until he dissolves and nothing is left of Mike Wheeler" "Perhaps go stand in the rain for a while?”" I love the mirroring of thoughts here!!
"Threads of his speech unravel, fade into wisps of smoke."
I love this curveball that you threw with the blood pacts story! Totally unexpected!!! "Lucas brought that old hunting knife" I love this detail, because Lucas's grandpa would definitely have one. "If this is an attempt at delaying the inevitable, Mike’s having none of this bullshit."
“It can be scary to get what you want after wanting it for so long,” I definitely cried at this one.
"Drunk on the feeling of being wanted by the right person."
"Remembers a child's fear of being struck by lightning, his stubborn refusal to get outside the house when the weatherman promised heavy rain, unshakable in his kindergarten certainty that lightning would find him and shock him to death. Evaporate all his blood in a single strike."
"Deep down there’s still a frightened kid on his first day of kindergarten staking a claim, making a promise. Running around Mike’s ribcage screaming with delightful glee You’re mine, you’re mine! You’re still mine!" I love how you put in another memory of Mike with what's happening so beautifully.
(I'm sorry for the super long message.) I enjoyed your work so much!
sorry for taking this long to reply, it's not like I have asks piling up in askbox,. it's just I had no idea what to say if not an infinite string of thank you.
It's always a joy when people highlight their favourite lines, it's like seeing my writing through different lenses and you quoted so many! Some of which are actually my faves.
The movie playing was a fortunate coincidence, actually. I don't watch many movies but I happed go watch the Lost Boys before starting the fic; and ofc a drive-in story required a movie. You can only imagine my delight when I discovered the date of release of the film actually made sense with the timeline. I was like "well, the stars aligned, guess I'll write the fic 🙏🏻"
And the "car-crash moment" is something I'm very partial to. When I was 17 I went to a international English school in Dublin and we had a class on metaphors. I was assigned "love is [blank]" which I filled with "love is a car-crash" and idk, that just stuck with me overtime. I'm dramatic like that ✨ (I actually witnessed a car-crash one year later and yeah, not that romantic)
I create magic with words you say? Well you create tears with that comment, readerofportrait. I just happen to love pretty words and images; I literally constructed whole sentences around words I liked and decided to use just bc of the way they sounded! And i love to have nature and the weather mirror the characters' inner state - I'm a gothic writer at heart 🖤
And i actually adore how you describe Mike staring at Will as a "one person staring contest". Never thought of it that way!
What I enjoy abt this fic is that I believe there's a bit of everything - teasing, banter, pining, angst, confession, softness, anger, nerdiness, lust even. And I'm really glad you too enjoyed so many aspects of it.
I honestly cried the first time I read this ask bc it's just made me so happy. I like writing, I know that, but it's in moments like this, when I can see the effect my words have on other people that I remember I don't just like writing but love it.
So thank you for reminding me, thank you for reading the story and taking the time to leave such a heartwarming comment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💙

how long did it take you to watch the van scene the first time? about how many times did you rewind? did you catch the lip glance right away? did you think it was heading in a byler positive direction when mike was talking? how about when will was talking? were you happy/disappointed by the painting? how did you feel by the end of it? how devastated were you by will's crying?
this was intense af to come back to in the ask box LMAO
Anyway—the first time I watched the van scene through was the day after vol ii dropped, because I started watching it at midnight (right when Netflix US crashed) and skipped to it with expectancy only to have my heart drop when I realized what was happening.
Like almost everyone else, I’d gotten my hopes up for a quicker (like, faster paced in the plot) version of byler endgame than what happened, so seeing Will sob after breaking his own heart to save Mike & El’s relationship made me deeply sad, but also extremely angry? I feel like I’d made up a way it should go in my head, and when it didn’t meet those expectations…I wasn’t convinced they had ruined byler entirely, but I was certainly not happy at how it was going LMAO
Honestly I’d say it took me about 4 tries before I could get through it without having to leave it alone like. Halfway through. I skipped it a few times during rewatches because I over-identified with Will so much in vol i that seeing his heart crack in half was too much, even though I started catching on that Mike was open to the prospect…fairly quickly? He seemed too pleased and open even though he wasn’t saying anything—I didn’t even notice the lip glance until like the 3rd watch, but once I got over my initial shock of Will’s words and tears, there was no missing Mike’s heart eyes, or the way he was hanging off every word Will said.
—I do fully admit I was deeply irritated at Mike for being so blind despite seeming so pleased at Will for sharing it / coded-confessing (I felt like his character was being flat out assassinated for not catching the pain Will was going through), but I dunno. It wasn’t until I rewatched the two parts of the season over together that I started to piece together what was happening on Mike’s part. Not viewing them as two separate parts but a cohesive season & then seeing how El responded to him at the end was kinda the glue that made me reassess Mike as a character (and dig deeper into the show as a whole, since I was GA before S4 and then only passively fandom-minded because of how cute I thought Byler was during the month between volumes lol)
Anyway. To the latter part of your question: I loved the painting even the first time through even though a bunch of people were convinced it would be the swings 😂 I loved that it was literally the most “I am a 15 year old trying to tell another 15 year old I am in love with them in the most nerdy way possible” thing ever, and it incorporated the thing they’d bonded over / that was basically an metaphor for their bond and the state of it from like, the minute we saw them on screen together.
Honestly the van scene is still kinda the most emotionally raw moment for me to watch even though I’ve seen it 1.5M times at this point. Like. I can watch the monologue and only roll my eyes, but watching Mike make those heart eyes still gets me to this day 🤣

this got long so quick omg. still—thanks for the ask! 💕

ST4 spoilers + minor predictions
Sure, I liked Eddie a lot, but the death? Didn’t really do anything for me. It felt kind of cheap, like it didn’t really need to happen. There was no closure, there was no getting anything out of it. I wish that it felt worse, I guess? I mean if you’re going to kill a loved character, make it worth something.
/ unrelated I guess, but I think the only way to put Max back in her mind (assuming she’s no longer there) is probably to kill Vecna properly, since it’s said he consumes them and locks them in his mind or something, and considering he was one flick of his scrawny looking wrist from snapping her neck and popping her eyes, I’d say he took everything from her but her actual eyes themselves. Like the eyeball.
I haven't seen the source so I'm taking this with a grain of salt, but people have been saying there’s going to be 5 main deaths but I think there’s going to be more. The very ending scene to me, says either 1- Everyone in that scene will, or 2- everyone in that scene will die. Everyone’s separated right now.
Dustin has a 50/50 chance of living or dying. I don’t think they’ll kill him off, because I don’t think he’s served his full potential, plus he’s got Eddie-Death trauma to deal with, and Vecna isn’t needing a new portal with his whole portussy out in the open at Hawkins.
Mike I think has at least an 85% death potential. In my head it’s a higher number, but I don’t think the Duffer Bros will actually do it.
Vickie is 100% going to die. Because Robin hasn’t been through the type of trauma the rest of them have dealt with. She’s been fun, goofy, and crushing. Plus she was finally getting along with Robin right at the end and Miracle Breakup or something with her bf.
Robin is like 35% death capable. However, she’ll die if we don’t get Premium Vickie Scenes because I can see the DB’s making her say something stupid while dying to Steve like ‘omg i never even got to kiss a girl this isn’t fair’ and laughing about while dying.
Nancy is 40/100. I kind of hope she dies, not because I dislike her, I love her,  but because it will hurt due to how prominent a part she plays in everyone's lives. Nancy will die and everyone will feel hopeless, then a miracle will happen. Or they just won’t kill her at all.
Johnathon is going to 100% die. Nancy and Johnathon don’t have the guts to break up. Breaking up isn’t something you’re going to do in a warzone (as I assume the next season will be). Steve and Nancy are blindly sewing their ties back together like fools, meaning Johnathon is going to have to kick the bucket if the DB’s want the Steve/Nancy ship to sail once more. Or they’ll try and make up for the homophobia against Will damn Byers and just make him again as a poor excuse for a haha sorry about Will’s tragic life, here is A Gay.
Suzie and her family will live simply because Dustin doesn’t need anymore trauma. I assume they’ll play a big role, but they won’t die.
Max will live. I think they could have done a lot more. If they actually killed her it would have been a fantastic death, really well done. But when El brought her back, I assume it means that power is going to be crucial in the next season, and I assume when Vecna is defeated Max will return to her body.
Steve I think 65% chance he will die. Dude’s got some wounds man. That’ll come back to bite him.
Will’s not going to die. After all the shit he’s put up with? Nah. But he ain’t going to be ok, either. He’s going to have a real bad time.
Whether Lucas lives or dies is codependent on Max. Lucas will die if it turns out that Max is going to be like that forever (or if she dies), but he’ll live if Max wakes up.
Erica is done for, but damn will she die the hero of the series. Live on Queen.
Not sure what to make of Hopper and Joyce. They’ll die hand in hand or they’ll live and raise the huge amount of orphaned children. Either that, and they die, and Steve has to adopt all these teenagers. Which means 100% one main kid will die at least. Since Steve wanted 5 or 6 kids. There’s 7 buddy. Mike, Will, El, Lucas, Erica, Max, Dustin.
I also can’t be bothered to make a bigger prediction list. I have a notepad I’ve been scribbling in but all I’ve written is:
[2/july/2022 I think Lucas, Erica, Dustin, Steve, Robin, Max, Mike will die. might die is: argyle, mrs wheeler, ted wheeler, vickie.] Which doesn’t reflect me thinking back on the choices.

Hi! How are you? There are a few things I want to say/ask
1.I know El was supposed to die at the end of season 1 but the duffers said that they planed the whole show before season 1 even came out so , why is El such an important main character, I mean they always make everything about her.( not mad about it El is my second favorite character)
2.I agree with the anons who talked about Mileven . (The one who said they’re tired of Mileven ) I agree honestly last season , watching all those Mileven scenes was really painful to me (even tho I haven’t shipped Byler back then )because it just seemed forced and In my opinion they’re whole relationship is weird ( 1.he got together with a girl who could barely speak , and knew for one week 2. Extreme jealousy 3. Mike seems fruity) . But I also agree with the anon who said that byler isn’t endgame , because of many reasons I won’t list up here because then this ask or whatever I’m doing here would be way to long
3. ( connects to the 1. Point ) Do you think El is going to die in the end ? Because she was supposed to die in season 1 ? I mean I think it’s definitely possible
Sorry for whatever I did here I am in quarantine and I am bored so I decided to make this … ask .
I hope I didn’t annoy you or any thing . I hope you have a good day!💗💙xoxo ( also sorry for my bad English)
hi anon! I'm doing okay, I hope you're doing well :)
To your first point, I think El has become such an important character in the show because of Millie's acting tbh. The duffers said after seeing her act in season 1 they knew they needed her to continue the show. so I honestly think they just fell in love with how powerful and moving Millie's acting was, and the range she has omfg, it's very impressive and hard to find in kids, especially in season 1 when she was so young and was able to convey so much, when El was barely speaking. I think they just really appreciate Millie and how she brought El to life that they included her in season 2, and make her such a central part of the show now.
I totally agree watching those mileven scenes felt very forced and I also agree that their whole relationship is very odd, for all the reasons you mentioned :) I think byler will be endgame cuz I think there's evidence to support it, but that's just my interpretation :)
I don't wanna stir the pot too much with this one but, I want them to complete the E.T. parallel for El. I love her and she deserves happiness, but I think her dying would be a reasonable conclusion for her character. BUT with the potential of spin-offs, I feel like it MAY be less likely because they may want Millie in spin-off? Idk, I think spin-offs are a bad idea in general 😂, but I hope franchise potential doesn't affect the ending of the show, and I hope they stick to their original plans because I think it will be the most satisfying for viewers. Also, I looovvveeeee a good heartbreak, so I am open to a devastating ending for Eleven, and I will bawl my eyes out if it happens LOL.
thanks for the ask! I hope you're doing okay in quarantine! Hang in there! You didn't annoy me at all omg, don't even worry about that! Also you're English is great, no need to apologize at all, please don't worry about that! xx :)

 Chapter 2 << New Journey Masterlist >> Chapter 4
Tumblr media
".. An-and Mews is now d-dead, cause Dart ate her. Omg, Dart ate Mews, Y/N!" Dustin practically screamed and you had to shush him so mum wouldn't hear you.
" Holy shit.." was the only thing that you were able to say after realization hit you too. Your cat, the one that your mum was searching for, is in Dustin's room dead on the floor with Dart eating her. That thought sent chills to your spine and without thinking it you sat down on your bed.
Dustin followed your actions "What are we gonna do, Y/N?" his voice was trembling. You looked at him through tears in your eyes and side hugged him.
" Well.. The first thing we have to do is get rid of mum. She can't know about this. She'll be devastated. And then we'll have to get D-Dart out of your room and take him somewhere else, but where?" you started forming your plan.
" What about the basement?" Dustin spoke up.
" Yeah.. Yeah, that'll work." you told him and smiled soflty "And last but not least we'll have to clean your room and.. And bury Mews." you said and silence filled the room.
After a few minutes Dustin asked you "Can I stay here tonight?"
You looked at him shocked "Dustin, of course.. Are you kidding me? You really thought I'd leave you alone with that terrifying thing? No way."
" Thank you. " he told you and after you got ready you fell asleep hugging one another, trying to ease each other's pain.
___
While Dustin was on the living room talking to 'Mr. McCorkle' and trying to get your mum to leave and search for Mews, you were preparing some stuff for your plan.
You sighed and looked at all the things you had gathered "Let's hope he's still in there or we'll be in big trouble." you told yourself and went outside seeing Dustin and your mum hugging. Moments like these were rare, since Dustin was growing up and he acted like the man of the house, but it was always a nice sight to see.
" We can find her." Dustin said without acknowledging you had entered the room.
" We can find her.." your mum repeated and started walking away. She looked at you and sent you a big thumbs up.
" I love you!" you said and waved at her.
" I love you too, guys!" she said opening the door open.
" All right, go!" Dustin told her and she walked out the door. You felt so bad for lying to her, but it was for her own good.
" Okay.. Let's get started!" you said clapping your hands and going to your room to get ready.
You had gathered some hockey equipment that you both could use. After putting it on you went to take some food so you could lead Dart to your trap with it.
You gave Dustin a questioning look and when he nodded you took a big breath and turned the doorknob. "Let's go" you said under your breath and immediately started running out of the house with Dustin.
Both of you were yelling curse words until you found yourselves inside the small cabin you had right beside your house. You closed the door and looked through the window.
" Is he coming?" Dustin eagerly asked you and tried to push you away so he could take a look.
" No.. I don't see him.." you answered.
' Why aren't you coming? I know you're hungry..' you thought and just then Dart walked out.
" Yes!" both of you whispered and watched every move he made. He was approaching the basement door and as it all looked like it would work out, Dart looked at your direction.
" Shit." you said and backed away from the window. Dustin was frozen still. You put an arm over him without even thinking about it and peaked again. He was much closer to you two, but before you could react in any way, a scream surprised you.
You turned and saw Dustin stepping out and scaring Dart. With a strong kick by his ice hockey stick, Dart was in the basement and Dustin was fast enough to lock him in.
" Dustin?!" you yelled and ran towards him. He was breathing heavily from the adrenaline.
" I'm sorry... But he ate our cat. I didn't think it through." he answered you, but you weren't mad. You were glad that that thing was now in a secure place.
You chuckled and offered him a hand. He accepted and you both went inside to try and fix the mess Dart left behind.
___
After having a mini funeral for Mews, it was now time to clean the blood out of the floor and carpet.
You were desperately trying to do that and Dustin was trying to get hold of his friends once again while helping you.
" All right, it's Dustin again. Seriously, I have a code red." and as Dustin finished his sentence a voice was heard.
" Could you please shut up?" you and Dustin looked at one another. It was Erica, you would recognize that voice anywhere.
" Erica? Erica, is Lucas there? Where is he?" Dustin asked impatiently.
" Don't know. Don't care." she continued clearly not taking this seriously.
" Is he- is he with Mike?" Dustin tried to take any information out of her.
" Like I said, I don't know and I don't care." but it was impossible to make Erica tell you anything useful. You sighed and continued scrubbing the carpet.
" Please tell him it's super important. Please tell him I have a code-" Dustin was cut off by Erica.
" Code red?"
" Yep, code red. Exactly." he answered with a nod.
" Mmm-hmm. I got a code for you instead. It's called shut-your-mouth" Erica said with all the sass she had and turned the walkie-talkie off.
You smirked. ' That girl's got a future' you thought.
" Jesus.." Dustin muttered.
" What are you going to do?" you asked slowly starting to get frustrated by the fact that the blood is not coming off of the carpet.
" Probably gonna ride to Mike's to see if they are there... It's worth the shot." he said getting up.
" I'm gonna drive you. I have to go and get some stuff to really get the blood off without destroying the carpet, anyways."you said and after some minutes you dropped him at Mike's.
" If they are there good, if they are not just ask to stay there for at least half an hour so I could come back and get you." you told Dustin who was already out of the car.
" Don't bother, I'll just walk."
" Oh, no no no.. I'm not leaving you outside alone after what happened, young man. And besides, the sun will soon set and you know mum doesn't want you out in the dark alone anymore." you told him sternly.
" Okay okay.. I'll wait. Bye." he said and walked away.
" Bye, see you soon." you called after him and drove away.
Not even 2 minutes later you saw a familiar car driving by you. It was Steve's. He honked to tell you he saw you, a way of him saying hello. You waved a bit and continued with your trip.
___
35 minutes have now passed and you just got to your car to get back. There were so many people at the store today and for a second you thought that they planned it like that so you would be late. But you were now heading at the Wheeler's house to get Dustin or see if he went somewhere with the guys.
You parked your car on the street, walked to the front door and rang the doorbell. After some seconds Mrs. Wheeler answered the door.
" Hi, sweetie. I'm sorry, but Nancy's not here." she said kindly.
" I'm not here for Nancy. I'm here to ask about my brother. He was here about 45 minutes ago trying to find Mike. Any idea where they might be?" you asked her.
" Um.. Mike was not here when Dustin came by, but he didn't stay either.. I think I saw him getting inside, umm, Steve's car! Yes. He went with him. Now to where I don't know." she answered you.
" Oh.. Alright, thank you. He probably got him home safely. Goodbye!" you said and walked away from the house.
" Goodnight, Y/N!" she answered and you heard the door closing.
' Why on earth would Dustin go somewhere with Steve? He barely knows him.' you thought to yourself and headed for your house.
And much to your surprise, Steve's car was actually there. Right in front of your house, but the lights of the house were off.
' What are they doing?' you thought and stepped out of your car.

Believe (Noticed Part 2) - Steve Harrington x Reader
Notes: Here’s part two of Noticed! I followed the ST3 season finale episode with this one so this part contains major spoilers for the season 3 finale. If you haven’t watched it, don’t read this. Anyway, Steve requests are still open! Send some prompts in if you want. And please comment/reblog/like this, it means so much to me when you do! Thank you!
Summary: Steve has confessed his love for you, you think, and now you have to survive the rest of the night.
Believe - Noticed Part 2
Steve Harrington x Reader
Requested?: Yes, by anon - “omg i loved Noticed, any chance of a follow up part two??”
Word Count: 3,239
Warnings: MAJOR ST3 SPOILERS, PTSD, angst, fluff, etc.
You and Steve are piled into a mini-car with Robin driving. Dustin sits in the front with her while Erica is shoved in the back with you two.
“Heyyy Erica.” You giggle, using her head as an armrest.
“Get your elbow off of me or I swear I will use the taser on you.” She threatens. You take your arm off her, a laughing mess.
“W-Watch out, (Y/n), you’ve got America on your tail.” Steve laughs, gripping your shoulder. You giggle again.
“Oh no.”
The mini-car comes to a crashing halt as Robin hits a tower of metal bins. Your head bangs against the metal bars behind you. You groan, matching Steve as the two of you complain.
“Are you guys okay back there?” Dustin asks, turning around.
“They’re fine.” Erica rolls her eyes, opening the back door and jumping out. You crawl to the door, practically falling out of the back of the car as your back meets the concrete below.
“Ow.” You giggle, sitting up straight as Steve tumbles out of the car after you, landing right on top of you.
“Well, hello, darling.” He grins at you, pecking your cheek.
“My prince charming.” You chuckle, cupping his cheek with your hand.
“Now is not the time!” Dustin picks Steve up off of you. You whine as Robin helps you up.
“Into the elevator!” Robin all but shoves you and Steve into the elevator.
“Where are your car keys?” Dustin asks you and Steve. You think hard.
“Ummm, I left them...somewhere?” You ask more than state, looking over at Steve.
“The,” Steve erupts in a fit of laughter, “The Russians took our keys, like, forever ago.”
“Oh yeah! That’s where I left them!” You point at Steve, a large grin making its way onto your face.
“I thought they sobered up after confessing their love.” Dustin groans, running a hand through his hair.
“Your hair looks soft, Dusty.” You reach out and grab a lock. He swats your hand away, a look of offense present on his face.
“Don’t touch my hair. That’s reserved for Suzie.” He huffs. You giggle.
“Is Suzie real?” You ask, looking over at Steve. Steve shrugs, letting a small chortle out.
“We’re here.” Robin helps you and Steve up as the doors to the elevator open.
“Outside!” You gasp, beaming as you step out onto the pavement.
“I can taste the air!” Steve sticks out his tongue, looking like an idiot.
“You look stupid.” You scrunch your nose up at him.
“Nuh-uh!” He protests, booping your nose. You giggle again. Two large Russian men charge at your group, spewing incoherent sentences.
“They’re mad!” You gasp, grabbing Steve’s arm as you laugh. Dustin, Robin, and Erica start to push you two to the side doors.
“Why are we running?” Steve asks, confused as he’s shoved into the doors.
“Woo!” You grin gleefully as they push you in after Steve. They lead you through a few corridors until you reach another door. They open it to reveal the movie theater.
“Movie!” Steve claps. You’re led to the front where Dustin and Robin sit you down, moving to sit elsewhere with Erica. You groan.
“These are the bad seats!” You protest, grabbing some popcorn that Steve got from who knows where.
After a while, once the others aren’t looking, Steve leans over to you.
“I need water.” He whispers.
“There’s a fountain outside.” You mumble, still upset at the seat choice.
“Come with me, please?” He whines, grabbing your hand. You sigh and the two of you go to the water fountain outside of the theater.
Steve gets water first, taking way too long for your liking.
“Move.” You push him out of the way, leaning down for a taste of the water.
“Hey, (Y/n), look at this.” Steve beckons you. You furrow your brows and go to stand next to him, looking up at the fake stars. You grin.
“They’re,” You hiccup, “They’re pretty. Like, um, stars.”
“I feel...sick.” Steve’s hand goes to his stomach. You hold back puke.
“Uh huh.” You and Steve make a break for the bathroom, going in adjacent stalls and puking the serum out of your system.
Once the two of you have officially gotten it all out of your system, you sit back against the wall of the restroom.
“How do we, um, how do we know it’s out of our systems?” Steve asks, nudging your foot with his from the next stall over.
“Ask questions! Interrogate me, Steve Harrington.” You chuckle, nudging his foot back.
“Okay, um, when was your last boyfriend?” He hums. You contemplate.
“Well, heh, you’ll never believe it, but I dated Jonathan Byers back in high school for a little bit.” You admit, leaning your head back on the wall. Steve goes quiet.
“Really?” He asks.
“Yeah. I broke up with him, though. Nothing’s weird between us, either. It wasn’t a messy breakup.” You shrug.
“My turn,” He whispers, much quieter than before.
“Was your confession real?” You ask, retracting your legs to where they’re only in your side of the stall. He stays silent for a minute.
“Yes.”
“You really love me?” You whisper, not stopping the hopeful tone to your voice. Steve slides under the stall to your side, leaning against the stall wall for stability.
“I really do, (Y/n). More than I could comprehend while I was under the serum.” He admits, grabbing your hand. You blush.
“I love you, too. I think I started liking you a lot before you saved me from Billy. In fact, I think it was close to the point when you and Nancy broke up that I started having feelings for you. I-I thought that you’d never notice me, so I didn’t really think anything of it until you did. Like, for example, I thought the way Nancy ending things was terrible and I always thought you deserved better. I thought...um, nevermind.” You look away, a blush creeping its way to your cheeks.
“You thought what?” Steve asks softly, rubbing a thumb over the back of your hand.
“I always thought that I could’ve treated you better than she did. But I ridiculed myself for thinking that because Nancy was my best friend and I shouldn’t berate her like that.” You frown, looking at the ground.
“You’re not berating her. People make mistakes and, hey, she doesn’t know what she’s missing out on.” Steve flexes his arm, making you laugh.
“I love you, Steve Harrington.” You murmur, your face inching closer to his. He brushes his nose against yours, going in for the kiss.
Before he has the chance to kiss you, though, Robin barges in with Dustin and Erica at her side.
“There you two are!” She gasps, running over to you. You groan and get up with the help of Steve.
“Time to go.” Dustin ushers everyone out of the restroom. You all walk to the front doors, following the crowd to get to the bus. You walk to the front doors, seeing everyone getting checked for their ID. You grab Robin’s shoulder and stop her.
“We can’t go through there.” You whisper.
“Abort. Abort!” Dustin yells and the five of you run in the other direction.
“Do you think they noticed us?” Steve asks.
“No, duh!” Erica yells at him. Everyone slides down the in-between part of the escalator and keeps running.
Eventually, you hide behind a counter of some food place. The rest of the mall is evacuated.
The five of you try to breathe as quietly as possible as you all hide behind the counter, silent and waiting for them to go away or find you. You grab Steve’s hand and lace your fingers together.
All of a sudden, a car starts honking to your right. You gasp and Steve reaches over to cover your mouth with his hand.
The Russians speak behind you.
The car flies across the room behind you and everyone turns around, poking their head up from behind the counter.
Eleven is standing on the floor above with her hand outreached as the Russians lay below, dead.
“Yes!” You yell, hopping over the counter and grabbing a Russian man’s gun.
“You flung that thing like a Hotwheel!” Dustin yells, running to hug Eleven once she’s on the lower floor with the rest of you. The others, Mike, Lucas, Max, and Will reunite with everyone.
“Lucas?” Erica’s eyes widen.
“What are you doing here?” Lucas asks, angry and worried.
“Ask them, it’s their fault.” She points her thumb at you, Steve, and Robin over her shoulder.
“True, yeah, it’s totally our fault,” Steve admits honestly. You nudge him in the ribs.
The group catches up with everything. You explain the Russians and they explain the Mind Flayer coming back. You furrow your brows.
“There have been two problems this entire time and we only knew about one?” You scratch your head. Truth be told, this whole thing is giving you a headache.
Then, Eleven passes out. You all crowd around her as she gets the thing out of her leg. You almost throw up again as you watch it happen.
Once that is over, the adults arrive. Joyce, Hopper, and some guy named Murray.
You all go over the plan multiple times.
“So, what are we doing? What’s our part in the plan?” You ask, your head pounding. Steve puts an arm around your shoulders.
“Follow me.” He helps you up and you, Robin, Dustin, and Erica walk out of the front doors of the mall.
“A car?” You ask, furrowing your brows as you read the plate. TODFTHR.
“Now this, this is what I’m talking about.” Steve grins, flipping the keys in his hand. You get in the passenger seat as Steve slides into the driver’s side.
“Tod father?” Robin asks as Steve gears up the car.
“Screw Tod, Steve’s her daddy now.” He starts the car and speeds off.
“Did you just refer to yourself in the third person?” Robin asks.
“And call yourself daddy?” You look at him concerned. He doesn’t respond, just shoots you a grin.
You speed off to a distant hill, making it almost halfway up before the TODFTHR gives out. You hop out and start to run to the top, the rest in tow behind you.
Once you make it to the top, Dustin gets on the radio and speaks to Murray who is in the ventilation system. You sit down, hand on the gun on your hip just in case anything tries to attack you. Steve sits next to you, setting a hand on top of your free hand.
“Wait, do you see that?” Steve stands up after a moment, looking back in the direction of the mall. He helps you up and you look over in that area, seeing the mall lights flicker rapidly.
“Guys.” You warn them. Robin stands up. Dustin tries to reach the group at the mall, to no avail. All you hear is the shriek of a monster.
The Mind Flayer.
“Let’s go!” Steve takes your hand and starts running. Robin runs after the two of you.
You all get in the TODFTHR and speed off back to the mall.
As you speed into the parking lot, you see the Mind Flayer on top of the roof of the mall.
“Holy crap.” You whisper, fear lighting up your eyes. Steve grabs your hand. A car halts next to you with a loud hiss as the back door opens up.
“Get in!” A voice yells. You, Steve, and Robin don’t have to be told twice as the three of you clamber out of your car and into the other one. You all speed off into the night.
As the car continues to speed down the road, you’re left watching as the Mind Flayer runs after you. You can’t help but wonder what will happen if it catches up.
“Hey, we’re going to be okay, alright?” Steve grabs your hand, squeezing it. You look over at him, worry filling your features.
“What if we’re not?” You whisper.
“We will be. I promise.” He kisses the back of your hand. You give him a small smile.
“I believe you.” You nod, going to sit next to him as you intertwine your fingers.
“We have to go back,” Robin yells, watching as the Mind Flayer turns around. You look at her like she’s crazy.
“What?” Lucas yells at her.
“It’s going back so that means something happened! We need to go back!” She screams. Jonathan pulls a crazy U-turn and now you’re the ones following the Mind Flayer.
Once you arrive at the mall for the third time, you run in after the Mind Flayer and go to the second floor.
“I can’t believe I’m mixed up in this crazy mess.” You groan, grabbing a firework from Lucas who demands everyone take one.
“It’s our crazy life.” Steve shrugs, grabbing a firework. Lucas throws the first one, distracting it from hurting El. You throw the next one directly into its mouth.
“Take that!” You yell, hoping it’ll distract it long enough to get Eleven out of the way.
Everyone bombards the Mind Flayer with multiple fireworks, throwing them left and right like nobody’s business.
Eventually, you run out of fireworks. Lucas throws the last one, looking to everyone with worry in his eyes. The Mind Flayer stands menacingly over El and Billy, looking for its next meal.
El backs away but as the Mind Flayer’s talon lunges for her, Billy stops it. You watch as Billy sacrifices himself for the greater good.
“Billy!” You scream, not being able to do anything because you’re too far away. You never had liked Billy that much, but no one deserved to die like that. Especially not since he sacrificed himself for El.
Steve grabs you and pulls you to the ground as the Mind Flayer flings his body around, crushing the spot where you used to be. It finally falls to the ground, dead.
You suppose Joyce, Hopper, and Murray shut down the gate.
“We’re alive,” Steve whispers, clutching your hand. You turn to him and hug him tight, still laying on the ground with him. He holds you close, one hand running up and down your spine soothingly.
Everyone walks downstairs and out of the building. Will finds his mom and hugs her tight. You sit down in an ambulance, getting questioned like an interrogation. It takes everything in you not to cry on the spot.
You watch as Eleven looks around for Hopper. You can’t see him.
You’re not sure what that means.
“(Y/n).” Steve stumbles over to you. You get dismissed from your questioning. You walk to Steve, letting him wrap you in a tight hug as he shields you from the rest of the world.
“Hopper didn’t make it.” You breathe out, clutching onto his Scoops Ahoy uniform for dear life.
“I know, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” He sets his head on top of yours as you bury your face into the crook of his neck.
“Can we go back home? Please?” You whisper, tearing up. He nods. A cop gives him back his keys that they found on one of the Russian men underground.
You get into the passenger side of his car and stay silent on the way home. The radio plays softly in the background as the two of you hold hands, saying nothing.
There’s nothing to say. Not yet.
Once you make it back to Steve’s house, you walk in and go straight to his room. You shut the door and lay down on the bed, waiting for him to join you. You feel the bed dip and you snuggle up to your new boyfriend.
“Get some rest, you deserve it.” He whispers into your hair as he pulls you to his chest. You hum and close your eyes, letting the wave of sleep rush over you easily.
~+~
It’s the middle of the night and Steve hasn’t gone to bed yet. He doesn’t want to sleep. He wants to keep you safe, to stay here and watch over you to make sure nothing bad happens to you in the night.
So when you start to thrash around under the covers, he’s already alert. He sets a hand on your forehead, letting out a calming ‘shh’ as you continue to toss and turn.
“N-No! No!” You mumble, reaching out an arm.
“(Y/n), it’s okay.” He murmurs, running a hand softly down your arm. You whimper, a sound Steve never wants to hear come from you again. Not like this.
It’s a deafening sound of loss and pure pain, one filled with emotion he doesn’t want you to feel ever again.
So, he does what he knows he can do. He hugs you tight. He holds you in his arms and doesn’t let go, effectively calming you down as you relax back into his arms. You’re safe.
~+~
The next morning, you wake up much too early for your liking. Steve’s side of the bed is empty.
You start to panic, thinking that maybe the Mind Flayer came back and took him. You hurriedly jump out of the bed, running out of his room and down the stairs.
“Steve? Steve!” You scream, pure terror coursing through your veins.
“(Y/n)? What’s wrong?” Steve rounds the corner, eyes wide as he reaches for your hand. You let out a breath of relief as you see him. You hug him tightly.
“I didn’t know where you went.” You admit, tears leaking from your eyes as you hug your boyfriend tight.
“I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.” He murmurs into your ear, nuzzling his head into the crook of your neck this time. Your breathing steadies.
“I believe you.” You nod, squeezing him tight one last time before letting go. You wipe the tears from your eyes.
“I made breakfast.” Steve leads you to the kitchen where a plate of bacon and eggs awaits you. You try your best to smile at him as you sit down and start eating. He busies himself making two cups of coffee.
When he’s finished with those, he goes to sit down next to you. He sets your coffee down next to you a little too rough, causing you to involuntarily flinch at the noise.
“Ah--” You gasp, looking over at the cup of coffee.
“I’m sorry!” He apologizes, resting a hand on your shoulder. You grab his hand in yours, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
“It’s fine, I just...It’ll take time, you know? Getting over everything. We’re probably going to have PTSD for the rest of our lives.” You tell him, frowning.
“It’s been a traumatic experience. I get it. I’ll give you all the time you need, (Y/n). I’m here for you. I love you.” He sits down, lacing your fingers together. You nod.
“I don’t mean it’ll take time for us, I mean...I just need time in general. If I’m being honest, you’re the only one grounding me to reality right now. I need you right now. It’s just...everything else, I’m going to have to get used to it again. Loud noises, sharp objects, the whole mile. I have to take time.” You lay your head on his shoulder.
“Me and you both, (Y/n). Me and you both. I’ll be here every step of the way, believe me.” He kisses your temple. You smile.
“I believe you.”

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING [SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF]
pairing: eddie kaspbrak/richie tozier chapter count: 1/5 summary: eddie kaspbrak runs an advice blog online, and he finds that maybe he’s starting to develop feelings for the cute, regular anon he gets gushing about their crush. meanwhile, richie tozier opens up his heart about falling in love to an anonymous advice blogger. read on ao3.
Eddie wondered if it was a little sad how excited he got when the message in his inbox started with a little purple heart emoji. Because his little heart definitely jumped in his chest every time he saw it at the front, and that message always got instant priority over whatever else was in his inbox.
omg cute boy did the most perfect thing today. i dont even have a genuine question here, or anything i just need to express how perfect this tiny human is and i think all my friends are tired of hearing about gfhdlgfhakjahsjlga i wanna hold his stupid tiny hand.
Eddie smiled to himself, clicking on the reply button. The past few weeks, Eddie’s spur of the moment advice blog had suddenly gained a ridiculous amount of popularity after a screenshot of one his posts had made its way onto a Buzzfeed article. With all the new followers, a great influx of messages had come along as well. Including this specific purple heart emoji anon, who seemed to be completely and utter smitten with somebody who worked in the same place as he did. And Eddie well, maybe Eddie was a little in love with how in love his anon was. Or maybe he wanted somebody to love him that much.
“Good moooooorning, beautiful!”
Eddie startled, quickly slamming the lid of his computer down. His advice blog was a top secret of his, the only person who knew he did was his best friend from high school, Mike. They’d both made blogs back in the early years of high school, and Eddie had clung to his as a perfect escape from the bullshit of the real world. He didn’t think Mike still used it, but he was the only person who knew that Eddie used his. And what he used it for.
Richie worked at the Starbucks across from Eddie’s store in the mall, and he’d seemed to latch onto Eddie on his very first day on the job. They were both college students trying to make ends meet with part time jobs when they weren’t in their classes or sleeping, and Richie had declared them kindred spirits. That had been almost two years earlier, and Eddie had officially been selling skinny jeans and sweaters to teenager girls for way too long.
“Sure slammed that shut pretty quick,” Richie commented with a small whistle. He raised his eyebrow and cocked his lips up into half a grin. His small overbite was barely obvious from that smile, but it was still annoying adorable. Eddie supposed that must things were annoyingly adorable about Richie Tozier. “Are you looking at porn on the job, Kaspbrak? Or do you just have deep dark hidden secret out there on the Internet?”
Eddie flushed. “You’re not supposed to be behind the counter.”
Richie held his hands up in defense, each one holding a Starbucks cup and rolled his eyes. “Fine. I’ll just take your iced coffee back over to work and dump it out then.”
“You’ll do no such thing!” Eddie cried, flopping forward in his chair to make grabby hands at smaller cup. Richie let out a laugh and handed the drink to Eddie, tucking his own empty hand into the back pocket of his jeans.
Eddie took a sip of the drink and let out a loud sigh. Richie had perfected his drink to the point where Eddie wouldn’t go to Starbucks if Richie wasn’t working. On the nice days when Richie’s shift started before Eddie’s, Eddie wouldn’t have to get up and get it himself at all. “Are you done now?” Eddie asked, glancing at the clock on the wall behind him. It was a little after noon, a bit early for Richie to be finished his shift but he knew that Richie did like to take shorter shifts during exam season.
“Nah. Not done until three.” Richie said, sipping at his red-coloured, syrupy iced drink that Eddie was never brave enough to ask what was in it. “I’m going on my break. Want to go see the outside world with me and remember what it’s like to be free?”
Eddie clucked his tongue, and turned on the chair to look at his coworker, Kay. “Is it okay if I go on my break now?” It was a little early to Eddie to take a break, and he knew he’d probably regret it later when he had to move through the last several hours of his shift in one go, but he was still going to jump at the chance.
Kay looked up from the binder of the summer sales that were coming in, and smirked as she caught sight of Richie standing with Eddie. “Yeah, we’re completely dead,” Kay replied. “I’m not sure why Barb insists on scheduling two people in the middle of the day when our entire target audience is in school.”
“K thanks!” Eddie jumped down from the chair, sticking his tongue out at Kay as Richie turned around. He supposed that his raging crush on the lankier guy hadn’t exactly been subtle over the last year or so, but it was subtle enough that Richie hadn’t seemed to notice and that was what mattered in the long run.
He remembered how annoyed he’d been when he’d realized that he’d fallen for the stupid barista boy like a goddamn internet cliche. But then again, Eddie had never claimed to be anything more than an Internet cliche, so what the point in fighting it? He’d let himself fall full forward into liking Richie, and found that he enjoyed Richie even more than he’d originally realized. Once he stopped fighting his crush, and let himself genuinely find Richie funny and amusing, life became so much lighter.
Richie jumped up onto the curb stop once they’d gotten outside, and swung his leg around while drinking from the red drink of death. “So... are you going to invite me to Mike’s party this weekend?”
Eddie raised one eyebrow, a challenge. “I’m assuming that since you’re asking about it, that Mike has already asked you.”
“Well, yeah.” Richie huffed, but he was still smiling. “But you didn’t ask me, Eddie. And that hurts. I thought we were lovers.”
Eddie rolled his eyes, but he knew that he was blushing. “I don’t know whatever gave you that idea, Richard, but I’ll have you know that I didn’t invite anybody to this party. Because it’s Mike’s party, for his weird fuckboy boyfriend. I just happen to live in the same house as that party. I’ll be spending it in my room, probably watching re-runs of the Office with Chinese food.”
Richie jumped off the curb and landed in front of Eddie. “Well then- invite me to that.”
Eddie narrowed his eyes. “You want to spend your Saturday night sitting alone with me watching the Office?”
“My favourite show with my favourite boy?” Richie reached out and pinched Eddie’s cheeks. Eddie swatted him away with a grumble. “Honestly, I couldn’t think of anything I’d rather do on Saturday. It’s not like I’d be drinking anyway.”
Eddie nodded, knowing all about Richie’s long and poor history with alcohol that had peaked the year before they’d met. Still though... parties seemed like something Richie enjoyed, as somebody who thrived on social environments. “You're welcome to come over and watch the Office with me,” Eddie said with small smile. “And I promise I won’t be offended when you ditch me for the music and chatter of half the school in my tiny living room.”
Richie tossed an arm around Eddie’s shoulder and pulled him into him. “I would never ditch my Eds!”
xxx
“I swear,” Richie said, gesturing towards Eddie’s small bedroom television set. They were both laying together, Eddie’s small enough that they were pressed together from top to bottom. It wasn’t the first time they’d been seated in Eddie’s bed like this, but it made Eddie’s heart race everytime. “It takes Pam and Jim longer to get together every time I want this show.”
Eddie let his head lull to the side, crinkling up his nose. He, personally, could barely hear the show over the raging music from the party outside the walls. Mike had promised to try and keep it down for them, but Eddie hadn’t really expected much. “They get together in the same episode every time.”
“Yes, Edward.” Richie rolled his eyes, letting his hand come down and start to fiddling with the rainbow pride rope bracelet that Eddie always wore on his left wrist. “In my old age, I just find myself a little less tolerant of all this slowburn. They’re obviously soulmates, why must we sit through so much bullshit when they should just have gotten together at the start?”
Eddie chuckled, hoping Richie couldn’t feel his blood rushing under his hold on his wrist. “I like the slowburn. It’s interesting, you know? Two people who obviously right for each other but had to the get the timing right too. That’s the whole part of it. I think Jim and Pam wouldn’t have been nearly as interesting and powerful as couple if they’d gotten together right at a beginning and never had to like... really go through it together.”
“I just don’t think love should always have to be such a struggle.” Richie said, moving on from playing with Eddie’s bracelet to simply rubbing at Eddie’s wrist. “Why can’t just once I see a couple get together and then nothing bad ever happens, the end.”
Eddie smiled softly. “Why, Richard Tozier, I didn’t know you were such a closet romantic.”
“There’s lots you don’t know about me, Eds.” Richie tilted his head back down and smiled at him. Eddie blinked sleepily at him, letting his smile turn slightly confused. Richie let out a sigh. “Like, uh... I probably never told you this, but I think the best decision I ever made was going over to talk to you that day when you surrounded by all those preteens that were freaking out that you guys were sold out of those new Kardashian jeans.”
Eddie groaned, head falling into Richie’s neck. He told himself he imagined that Richie’s seemed to jump underneath him at the pressure of Eddie’s body.“Oh my God, that was the worst fucking day.”
“Wow,” Richie chuckled, moving Eddie’s body with his. Richie had always been a touchy feely friend, but Eddie didn’t think they’d ever been this close. “Guess I’ll just die.”
“Obviously the only good part of the day was the big gangly losers coming over and handing me a coffee even thought he’d never met and wasn’t sure how I even took it.” Eddie laughed, shifting so he could look at him, chin resting on Richie’s chest.
“Hey.” Richie waggled his eyebrows. “I made a wicked iced coffee that day.”
“It was edible.” Eddie said dryly. “But I think I was so high on anxiety, you could have handed me hot piss in a cup and I would’ve drank it without a second thought.”
“That’s disgusting,” Richie laughed, leaning in to press a quick kiss to Eddie’s forehead. “I thought I was supposed to be the disgusting one.”
Eddie’s entire face flushed. “You’re not that disgusting.”
Something odd and soft came over Richie’s face, and he was leaning closer... closer... Eddie took in a shaky breath, closed his eyes...
A loud crash, followed by Mike swearing, broke them apart. Eddie rolled his eyes and paused the show. “Want to help me kick some ass?”
“Every single person in that room could kill me with one punch,” Richie replied, smiling cheekily. “But I would happily die in a fight for my Eddie Spaghetti.”
“Oh my God, fucking gross, how many times do I need to tell you not to call me that?”
“At least once more, apparently.”
xxx
After Richie and the party guests had all gone home, Eddie quickly logged into his blog and clicked onto his ask box. Right at the top was a message from the purple heart.
fuck i almost kissed the cutie today! he seemed into it but this stupid party interrupt it and now im like??? do i try to kiss him again or was i over thinking it? ah ah ah pls send help. i need a whole army of strong men to carry me through this.
Eddie frowned.

Saturday at GalaxyCon Raleigh
I was too exhausted to post on Saturday, so I will try to recount everything now.
My cousin Alexis and I left out at a little after 7 am, making a few stops (atm, gas, Starbucks).  We took back roads instead of taking the interstate.  Still a roughly two hour drive, but it was scenic and low traffic.  We talked about favorite Tim Curry movies and horror movies (good vs. bad, remakes) and listened to some of her favorite podcasts during the long drive.  Parking wasn’t a problem and we ended up arriving like fifteen minutes before the doors were meant to open.  There was a huge line that we had to wait in because there were so many attending on Saturday and they weren’t opening doors for anyone unless you were con staff or a vendor.  The waiting in line wasn’t too bad; it was mostly the people with VIP or 4 Day badges who were whining that they couldn’t get in yet.  As our line got closer to the building, I spotted @boxofficequeen2416 and said hello.  Thankfully, it wasn’t too hard to find the pre-registration desk or a bathroom.
Our first stop was the Exhibition Room.  We decided to walk the outside first and work our way in before trying to find the celebrities and Tim Curry photo op line.  God, it was so fucking crowded and suffocating.  We saw how long Curry’s line was and decided to wait a few hours, checking out out other celebrities.
Our first stop was Chris Sarandon, as he was on the end and was a main draw for my cousin.  She had planned to do just an autograph, but decided to do the combo.  Alexis got her Jack Skellington Funko Pop figure signed.  When he asked her name,  Chris mentioned that he has a daughter named Alexis.  He also asked if he could put his arm around her in the table photo.
My first stop was Barry Bostwick, as he had hardly anyone in his line.  I did the autograph/table photo combo.  I brought something to be signed by him.  It was an oversized movie postcard that came with my Cult Films textbook from college.  Barry hadn’t seen anything like it and had to take a picture of it with his phone.  He signed it “Dammit Kristi, I llove you!”  He took two selfies with me.  He was super sweet.  He had asked me what I went to college for (Media Studies).  When I told him that I didn’t get a job in that field mostly because I didn’t know what I wanted to do, he was very kind and told me that it was okay and that I would find something that I was suited for.
My next stop was Daphne Zuniga.  Out of all the photos for her to sign, there was only one for Melrose Place.  Can you believe that?  One of the two roles she is most famous for and only one photo for it!  Naturally, I had to get that autographed.  I also told her that I was currently watching the show and had just watched an episode that morning.  She asked what season I was on.  I told her that it was the third season and I think it was maybe the nineteenth episode of the season.  Daphne couldn’t even remember what had happened in that season.  That struck me as a bit odd, since she was only in the first four seasons.  I told her that Jo was pregnant that season.
Next up was selfies with Kristy Swanson.  She was really sweet and patient while I tried to get my phone ready.  She took four pictures with me.  I told her that we shared the same name, but one letter different.
After the panel was over, I met boxofficequeen2416 again.  I really wanted to join her for the Anthony Michael Hall Q&A.  But I knew my cousin was waiting for me.  We were going to try and get into the Tim Curry line.  No go, the staffer said try again at 2:45.  So, I got in line to get an autograph from Jonathan Frakes.  It didn’t look so bad, compared to how it was earlier in the day.  OMG, I was in line for a fucking hour!  My cousin tried calling me three times and texted twice while I was in line and I was worried that con staff would freak out because I had a phone out.  It honestly wouldn’t have been so bad if it wasn’t for VIPs and their “fast lane”.  Damn line jumpers, ugh.  But Frakes is such a sweetie who loves to talk to everyone getting an autograph and/or selfie.  Sadly, that also makes things take longer.  I got my DVD cover of Star Trek: First Contact signed by Frakes.  He starred in and directed that film.  He told me that it was is favorite movie.
I went over to Anthony Michael Hall’s booth, as there was hardly anyone there.  I had my DVD cover for The Breakfast Club signed.  He was really nice.  He shook my hand and thanked me for coming. When he was about to sign, he asked how I spell my name, as there are about twenty different ways.  I got compliments on my shirt, which I told him I wore just because I found out he was coming and that it has been my favorite movie for years.
We walked around a little more.  Alexis bought some things for herself and a Bucky print for a friend.  I found the Bard’s Tower booth and immediately spotted Timothy Zahn.  They did free signings!  I had Heir to the Empire signed by him.  I also had a promotional Decipher card depicting him as Talon Karrde, Michael A. Stackpole as Corran Horn, and Shannon McRandle as Mara Jade signed.  I received that card eight years ago at StellarCon 36 after I told Mike Stackpole that Tim Zahn was my favorite author.  Stackpole signed it and hand it to me, telling me to hold onto it until I had the chance to get Tim to sign it.  About 11:45 or so, we headed over to buy food.  I got a pepperoni pizza from Papa John’s.  She got some macaroni and pork, as well as a bottle of tea.  The food was so good, but she felt hers wasn’t worth the $14 she paid.
Nearly four o’clock, we decided we were exhausted and ready to start our two hour journey home.  There were several people that I missed out on seeing, but we had a great time.  I hope to be back next year.
Then we decided to take a break from the Exhibition Room.  I unfortunately missed out on Catherine Tate’s Q&A.  But I knew Jason David Frank’s would start soon.  Alexis went out to the video gaming section and watched a few games being played.  JDF was nearly twenty minutes late to his own panel.  When he finally showed up, he apologized.  That man looked damn good in a suit.  I wish I could have gotten a clearer picture of him.  He is such a nice, down-to-earth guy.  He even stated that it is perfectly okay for fans to try and take a picture of him, despite the con rules.  He told us how he got into acting, how he received his role on Power Rangers, his cameo in the 2017 movie, and showed us the trailer for The Legend of the White Dragon, a Power Rangers fan film that he and Johnny Yong Bosch are trying to film with other ranger actors for the fans.  OMG!  We need this so badly!  I’ve never donated money online or done anything with Kickstarter, but I am so tempted to do it for this.
After that, I think I went to see Christopher Daniel Barnes.  I was originally just going to get an autograph, but his handler talked me into the combo since his prices were so cheap ($40 for both).  Poor guy barely had anyone at his table, compared to his costar (Barnes voiced Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid and the mermaid herself Jodi Benson was always swarmed by fans).  Of the potential photos to be signed were mostly Prince Eric, at least four different 1994 Spider-Man: The Animated Series prints, one which I didn’t recognize but also had Robert Hays (which I have since learned is Starman), and only one Greg Brady from The Brady Bunch Movie/A Very Brady Sequel.  Naturally, I chose Greg Brady.  Barnes is definitely a nice guy.
I believe our final venture was the Tim Curry photo op.  The line was considerably shorter, thankfully.  I knew that Curry had a stroke a while back and was in a wheelchair.  But as soon as we went behind the curtain, I wanted to cry when I laid eyes on him.  I am aware that he is in his 70s, but it appears that his stroke has definitely taken a toll.  And the hours of exhausting photo ops probably hadn’t helped (he started at 11 am and was supposed to go until 5 pm).

Survivor 37: Finale
[S] Rooting for Davie and Alison here.
[A] Seriously, producers, just don't put the idol back out there. Let them get to the finals WITHOUT advantages.
[A] Really?! Of all the people?! Ugh. [S] Angelina finds the clue? BOO! [A] Oh good, it's just a clue.
[A] HA! A ridiculously hard clue/challenge. I hope she fails.
Tumblr media
[A] I don't need to hope. A few minutes later she already lost the clue. Good job [S] And... she lost the clue. Haha. And she's stuck. This is amazing. [A] OMG this is ridiculous. [S] And fake crying. Yeah, hope Angelina's voted out next.  "I think everyone bought it." Yeah cause they are concerned about your well-being.
[A] Yay! Multiple step puzzle/physical immunity challenge!
[A] Why does Angelina always say "yes!" when Jeff says "Survivors ready!"? It's annoying. He's not asking a question, he's demanding you be ready. You don't need to always get the last word in, Angelina.
[A] I love how the discussion around Alison has always been that she's a physical threat and yet she has sucked repeatedly at challenges (especially when they involve throwing things).
[S] More intense than the usual puzzle. 63 pieces. [A] 63 pieces?! Hot damn.
[S] Can they only do one stair piece at a time? No one is grabbing two.
[A] Jeff: "When you have it, step back and yell. You gotta let me know." Gee, I wonder why that got added to his statements...*cough*Wendell*cough*
[S] Hell of a comeback by Nick. [A] That was a huge comeback. Good thing people suck at puzzles.
[S] Angelina, you have a zero percent chance of beating Nick at final tribal.
[A] Of course the reward is AT the well. It's like the producers are protecting her. [S] Eat at the well with Angelina there cause producers want their drama for TV.  Why did she tell Nick and Mike though?
[A] Mike brings his wine. LMAO. [S] Mike takes his wine with him to the ladder. Haha.
Tumblr media
[S] Did Mike just call a tree a bitch?  [A] 😂
[A] First, she never would have found it without help. Second, fuck off with the "women never find hidden immunity idols so I'm amazing" bullshit.
[S] "I've kind of been driving the last three votes." Are Angelina and I watching different seasons of Survivor?
[A] Davie making me smile even as he's voted out: "You could have at least spelled my name right..."
[A] Angelina being the one to misspell Davie's name. *shocked*
[A] I gotta admit that I knew Davie wasn't making the finale when they opened this show and he looked like he was holding back tears.
[A] Davie's suit is bomb. [S] Love Davie's suit. He had so much fun playing Survivor. Sad he got voted out.
[S] Well, rooting for Alison now?
[S] Being mad that someone lied to your face isn't being "a child."
[A] Mike SHOULD vote you out next, Nick. You are the next biggest threat.
[A] Why do they all think Alison will win? Her entire plea is "I hung in there." That doesn't win votes.
[A] OMG TWO MULTI-STEP IMMUNITY CHALLENGES IN A ROW?! IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!
[A] I was just wondering if they were keeping the whole fire-for-third-place mechanic. I'm still torn on it.
Tumblr media
[A] *Alison can barely stand on the pole to start the challenge* Nick: "Alison is such a physical threat we have to get her out or she'll win the whole thing!"
[S] Alison is falling apart before the immunity challenge even starts… [S] Then crushes it. Nice.
[S] Nick caught up. Based on the last puzzle this immunity is his. [A] Nick wins individual immunity and likely the whole thing at this point.
[S] Angelina's problem is her strategy is too transparent.  [A] WTF. Angelina is crazy.
Tumblr media
[A] I don't want to watch this fake drama. It's so awkward and stupid.
[S] LOL Alison new it was fake.
[A] I ❤ Kara. "Because I don't want to give Angelina the satisfaction of playing a hidden idol correctly."
[A] Gabby rolling her eyes at Angelina. Girl, I feel you. [S] Gabby is as annoyed by Angelina as I am.
Tumblr media
[A] Bye Alison!
[S] Nick just won this season of Survivor.
[A] I love this challenge.
Tumblr media
[A] OMG did she really just kiss the ball. I cannot roll my eyes anymore this episode. I'm afraid they will get stuck that way.
[A] Nick will 100% pick Angelina to go with him and send Mike-Kara to fire. I already said it, but Nick is just going to win the whole thing now.
[A] Kara isn't wrong - people like her, but she doesn't have a game to back it up. I like her, but I can't tell you a single thing she's done.
[A] Oh hey look. Nick picked Angelina and sent Mike-Kara to fire. Who could have predicted that?
[S] I guess Mike winning the fire challenge creates the most interesting final vote, but Nick is gonna beat all three of these players. [A] I hope Mike wins the fire challenge just so the final vote isn't a fricking blow out in favor of Nick.
Tumblr media
[A] YES!
[A] I would prefer Mike win, but I don't see it happening because (1) he did rub some people the wrong way and (2) the jury will likely go "oh, he's already in Hollywood, he doesn't need the money."
[A] Time for me to just skip ahead. I may die from over-cringing if I have to sit through Angelina's pitch.
[A] Nick: "That's how I knew what every move was going to be." Me: "Did you know every move, Nick? Pretty sure you got blindsided a lot and then got angry about it." John: "Yeah, what she said..."
[S] LOL. Davie saying what we all think about the rice. [A] “I do have to point out that the whole point of a selfless act is to be selfless and not bring it up.” PREACH!
[A] Whether this is true reactions or production cuts, I love the jury reaction shots every time Angelina speaks.
[A] ARE YOU FRICKING SERIOUS?! WHY ARE YOU CRYING WHILE YOU VOTE?! [S] Why is Gabby crying while voting?
Tumblr media
[S] Hmmm...they showed a vote for Mike and Nick but not Angelina. Could it be because she got zero votes?
[S] Nick won. Kinda surprised Mike got three votes. Though I guess getting Alison and Kara's votes makes sense.
[A] Boo. Whatever. I just hope he didn't start a trend of alliance nicknames.

three count: “the king, you douches”
real talk “i’m the king you douchebag” is probably my favorite line from season 1 (though the context makes it a lot funnier)
ok according to dictionary.com, “wangle” is a word, just a word nobody fucking uses
dover it was probably a bad idea to go alone
oh george bb no this was the worst time to ask
*serious eye contact during foosball*
“super cool” = great, apparently
its interesting to hear when people use english and how it isn’t always translated directly
ohhhh it turns out ben is the worst brother
lmao tarkan lying is ass off is so funny
oh nah tarkan’s still the worst
oh lucky bb you’re so naive pascal is not your buddy
ok maybe a lil less naive than we think...hopefully
oh vincenzo you don’t have the best track record with counseling loserweight champions
man don’t you hate it when your popsicle breaks?
look at tarkan smiling at that drama
well also cause he fucking drugged erkan
wait noo they changed the editing of the opening so that hey! part doesn’t sync with dark society’s lights
booooo!
much entrance drama
so regal
interesting that tarkan’s not really recieved as a heel even though he never does good things
but then again erkan’s heel and apparently he got fuck finished out of a title so...
well and also to be fair this was shot in like, july
i hope kati beats him up though that punch isn’t something they should just let be the end of the story
(they shouldn’t really have done it at all but...)
funf minuten? GIMMICK INFRINGEMENT
this must have been strange to watch without having the plot context
if mike and rambo get like, pinned in less than 10 minutes does that mean kati and wesna ~didn’t survive~ the entire time?
that would be exactly the type of bullshit rambo and mike would try and pull
oh snap femme fatales is probably going up tomorrow!
wow rambo and mike are wayyy too close to eachother in this interview
old lumpy jerks who are also boyfriends?
and former loserweight champions
so i’m a scumbag cause after repeatedly complaining that the matches have nothing to do with the story, here’s a main with consequences and i fucked off for three hours to play on my phone or some shit because i’m a self sabotaging moron
anyway
i’m happy the crowd is so decisively behind kati
um i do not believe mike would win a test of strength with wesna
also not believable: wesna being knocked to the ground by one hit from fucking rambo
this match kinda sucks - it feels like it’s really like ‘omg any man is strongher than a woman so any woman would be the underdog!’ when while kati should have the ‘babyface in peril’ act because she’s thin and smol, there’s no reason for wesna to be in such a vulnerable role
really, this should end in a pin instead of them going the entire ten minutes
aw come on that fucking death valley driver should have been the end
ok i have to admit mike and rambo literally covering their faces in shame after losing is fucking hilarious though
oh boy pascal and lucky
lol pascal
WELL I DIDN’T WANNA DO IT ANYWAY
aw lucky sweetie don’t listen to hi, he’s ridiculous
TARKAN IN THERAPY???
or more, tarkan taking a lil nap
haha ahmed is definitely timon and mike is pumbaa
haha don’t get between tarkan and his cuddly object
wait is that yarn
breaking news: tarkan is a cat

DARCY AND STEVE HARRINGTON OMG!!! 😍😍😍 College themed #9 with the spider or ridiculous first sentence #4 with the demons Our Steve love is on the level and I appreciate you.
@ragwitch YAAAS STEVE HARRINGTON! I had way too much fun writing this, and I hope you have fun, too!! You are wonderful
Prompt: #4, Ridiculous first sentences, “that is the tenth demon summoning this week holy shit!”
Pairing: Steve Harrington (Stranger Things) x Darcy
Rating: T, for language
Notes: Spoilers for Season 2 of Stranger Things.
Steve Harrington’s Five Rules of Babysitting
1. SAFETY FIRST
Fine. Okay.
So he knows he shouldn’t be one to talk about safety when he let a bunch of kids drive then go exploring in what was basically a creepy tunnel in a field, but in his defense he’d been knocked out by some dickweed with a shitty mullet and was sort of loopy at the time.
But.
Safety first. Always.
Keep all doors and windows locked at all times.
Don’t let the kids choke on anything because maybe you don’t know CPR and you only know the Heimlich from the diagram you’ve glanced at while waiting for your order at the Dairy Queen.
Know where your weapons are.
(Example:
There’s a rifle is in the closet.
The box of bullets is on the highest shelf in the kitchen.
The kitchen drawer is full of knives.
Eleven is playing Connect Four with Max.
And…
“Lucas!” Steve bellows over his shoulder. “DON’T TOUCH THE DAMN BAT.”)
2. KEEP THE LITTLE SHITS OCCUPIED
Slightly related to Rule Number One, because if they’re playing their dorky boardgames, they aren’t out on their bikes trying to find interdimensional slugs to keep as pets.
When they get tired of boardgames (or when everyone gets tired of Max and Mike screaming at each other about whether a “Zoomer” is a thing), pop a movie into the VCR.
(Suggested Movies -
Ghostbusters (naturally)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (but tell the kids to cover their eyes when Indy does)
Star Wars
Movies That Do Not Go Over Well -
Alien
Firestarter
Howard the Duck)
3. A BALANCED MEAL IS IMPORTANT
“Listen, kid, you gotta eat something other than Eggos. You’ll get scoliosis.”
“Scurvy,” supplies Will.
“Whatever. Scurvy.”
4. KNOW YOUR EMERGENCY CONTACTS
In an emergency CALL:
911
The Parents
Joyce Byers.
Seriously, one time he saw Joyce look at some kid who called Will “Zombie Boy” with such cold, murderous rage that the kid apologized and ran away.
Joyce doesn’t fuck around.
Call.  Joyce.
5. NO VISITORS/OUTSIDERS
Listen. They’ve all seen some shit. They’ve been through a lot.
Like, a lot.
So their little circle is now them, Ms. Byers, the Sheriff and the doc from the lab. No one else could possibly know the shit they’ve been through. Hell, no one else would possibly believe them and it’s just easier to stick to their own small band of weirdos.
Makes it easier to keep an eye on them, too.
Outsiders are suspicious. After what Nancy and Jonathan told him, outsiders could be wearing wires and the next thing you know you’re held against you will in (another) government facility wondering if you’ll ever see daylight again.
So when there’s a knock at the door and Steve opens it to find a short brunette girl - a stranger, he’s understandably suspicious. She is not coming inside.
No way.
“You’re the babysitter?!” she laughs, eyebrows hiked up and hand on one hip.
Yeah. She is not allowed inside.
No matter how cute. No matter how shiny her cherry red lip gloss. She’s not coming in.
“Darcy!!” exclaims Dustin from behind him. “This is my cousin Darcy. Come in!”
Well, shit.
“Kiddo, your mom wants you home soon. And thanks for letting me in finally.” Darcy turns to him and rolls her eyes. “I thought you were gonna make me stand out there with the creepy noises forever.”
Fuck. His heart is doing some bizarre thing where it sinks and speeds up at the same time.
He should’ve known it wasn’t over, shit like this is never over.
Then just as suddenly he’s angry and tired.
Can he please make it to graduation without ending up in a body bag? Is that too much to ask?
“This is like, the tenth demon summoning this week holy shit,” Darcy declares, shrugging off her acid wash jean jacket and shoving it at him. She goes over to the couch, where Lucas hesitantly slides over a bit to let her sit.
He blinks, still holding the jacket. (It smells faintly like Love’s Baby Soft). “Wait. What?”
“…What.”
“You said demon summoning.”
“Uh-huh.”
“You thought those were demons?”
Lucas stops the movie. Everyone waits with bated breath.
“Well, yeah. At first, I called Fish and Wildlife and they said they were coyotes, but like, I actually saw one and have you ever seen a coyote with that many teeth? So. Small town plus weirdo animals plus that Department of Energy thing equals demon summoning. I saw it on Phil Donahue. Totally demons. Right?” She pushes a lock of hair behind her ear and eyes him expectantly.
He throws her jacket over an arm chair then motions for her to follow him to the kitchen. “Not..not quite. This is gonna sound crazy but you thought those were demons so…”
When Darcy promises not to laugh at them and call up the loony bin, Steve takes a deep breath and runs his hands through his hair. “Okay, so I guess it started with – “
Dustin walks in clutching a bag of Cheetos. “Ohh! Steve are you tellin’ her about the demodogs? Hey, everyone, we’re tellin’ Darce about the demodogs!!”
“Jesus Christ.”
STEVE HARRINGTON’S UNOFFICIAL SIXTH RULE OF BABYSITTING: TEAMWORK
Two adults (and he and Darcy are adults, damn it, they’re the only ones who can legally drive) are better than one, especially to corral six kids.
Ms. Byers and the Sheriff are on a capital D Date even if they insisted they weren’t. (Why go to Hawkins’ one Italian restaurant with actual table cloths if you weren’t on a date?).
And with a tiny pang in his chest that had really been getting tinier by the day, he notes that Nancy and Jonathan are hanging out together, too. (Probably riding around town together, listening to the sad wailings of British guys in black overcoats.)
Teamwork makes it easier to deal with the noises outside the house. The noises that are getting closer, softly clicking, chittering.
Mike and Lucas slide the sofa so it blocks the front door, and everyone else pulls the blinds down.
“This is my life now,” Darcy says, in disbelief and resignation as she pulls out the box of bullets from the kitchen cabinet.
She slams it on the counter, and the old toaster rattles a little.
“I’m sorry,” says Steve. “But I’ve been through this before. We’ll get through it again,” he promises.
Darcy takes a deep breath.
“Listen, I can’t even believe I’m doing this, but this is a very stressful situation,” she murmurs. She turns to him and presses her body along his front while the Byers’ plastic laminate counters dig into his back.
And oh wait, he can feel it, that…electricity, it’s like the air around is humming, colors sharper.
“I’m gonna need you to do a Thing, okay? Because you’re cute and y’know your hair is kinda cool – “
“Thanks,” he says, unable to help his smile. The hair. Always gets ‘em.
“Shut up, Steve, and just kiss me!” she hisses at him, pulling him towards her with two fistfuls of his Members Only jacket.
“Okay, yeah,” he manages to get out before he slants his mouth over hers and his entire world is alight with fireworks
He jolts when their lips finally meet. It’s clumsy at first, their teeth bumping together. But Darcy’s lips are silky and slippery with gloss. Her tongue slides over his insistently and she tastes faintly like grape BubbleYum. His hands are sliding just a little bit under that soft, pink sweater of hers and this is usually the part where the girl tells him to cool it but she doesn’t - her hands are tangled in his hair, nails grazing his scalp.
He cups her jaw, and he feels like he’ll vibrate right out of his own skin.
She pulls away with a smack. “Wow. Good kissing, babysitter.”
Her breath comes in quick pants when it fans across his face and when he looks at her she gives him a tiny lopsided smile.
“Seriously?!” a voice exclaims from behind them, high and outraged. “My cousin??!”
Darcy rolls her eyes and gently pushes Steve away. “What is it, Dustin.”
Dustin turns to him with a narrowed gaze. “You’ve got,” he gestures his hand vaguely over his mouth, “like all over you, man.” He shakes his head, mildly disgusted.
Steve runs the back of his hand over his lips and says, “Where are we on those-”
Something outside screeches warningly and the hairs on his arms stand on end. He grips his baseball bat tighter. He looks to his right and there’s a hard glint in Darcy’s eyes as she loads the rifle.
“Ready?” he asks her.
She turns to him and gives him a sharp nod. “Ready.”
They go to join everyone in the living room.
They wait.
They wait some more, with only the harsh puffs of their panicked breathing and the sound of the crickets outside.
“Are they…coming?” Darcy asks, shakily, after five agonizing minutes have passed.
“They’ll be here,” he says.
“They’re not…they’re not coming,” El says softly from behind him. Her voice is doing that slightly scary thing where it sounds too high and too far away.
“They went back?” Lucas asks.
“No. She means it’s not them,” Will says haltingly, scrunching his face.
“Well, what is it?!” demands Max, face flushed with annoyance. She begins striding to the door.
“Oh no you don’t.” Steve reaches down and yanks her back by her jacket collar.
“I’ll go,” offers Darcy and before he can forbid that, she’s crouching by the window and looking outside.
“Shit!” Darcy screams, and he’s over by her side in a second, his bat in position. But when he looks at her, she’s…smiling?
She pulls the curtain aside for him.
On the front porch, one of the tiny ragged things hisses at him, glaring at him with two shiny black eyes and he bursts out laughing, pure relief washing over him
“Possums!” he calls over his shoulder. “Just possums!”
Everyone groans.
He’s never been so glad to see those oversized rats ever in his life.
Afterwards, when the little assholes have mostly finished ragging on him for making them barricade the house against rodents, they put the couch back and sag onto various surfaces in the living room in front of the TV.
“God, that sucked. I need coffee,” Darcy grumps while she stomps to the kitchen. “And food.” She puts her hair up in a messy ponytail and begins rifling through the Byers’ pantry, setting a bag of flour and sugar on the counter.
She bends over to rummage through the fridge next and wow. God bless Jordache.
When she turns she’s got a carton of milk in one hand and is holding a box of eggs with the other.
“You guys like waffles, don’t you?”
El, by his side, is smiling up at him hopefully.
He sighs tiredly, makes his way to Darcy and takes the eggs from her hands. “Yeah. I’ll help.”
See?
Teamwork.

Major Crimes-Conspiracy Theory Pt. 1
Anticipation-three things I was waiting for in this episode 1. I wanted to see the rings. I wanted to make sure the ceremony took place since we, you know, didn’t get to actually see it.  2. To hear if Sharon would be called Commander Raydor or Commander Flynn. I’m hoping for Flynn, so that means it will probably be Raydor. 3. To hear Andy refer to Sharon as his wife or Sharon to refer to Andy as her husband. (I got two out of three, the jury is still out over Flynn vs. Raydor)
So, this episode was a light one. I feel like we needed a light episode after the past 5 depressing ones, however, I’m not sure it was the right case for a comedy episode.
Granted, they were filming this episode long before the shit hit the fan with politicians and entertainers being fired or resigning due to sexual harrassment and assault issues, but, even without everything that’s happening in RL right now, I think it should have been taken a little more seriously. Or at least not had quite so much humor.
Honestly, I think it would have been far more interesting to have this be the storyline that pulled Sharon front and center rather than the trope, life threatening illness. I would love to have seen this storyline used to bring forward Sharon’s own experiences on the force with sexual harassment and also how she dealt with some of that once she was in FID. There could have been great dialogue between Sharon, Andrea, and Amy over this very topic and some of things they have had to deal with. Also, I think it would be interesting for the men to hear this coming from the women they work with and care about. I’m sure some of the things Sharon probably went through would be quite eye opening to Andy. This arc is not over, so I’m hoping, though not really believing, that we still might get some of this from our main characters point of view.
I do love the humorous episodes and I feel like the writers really missed the boat by not writing a classic ProFlynnza episode around Andy’s bachelor party. But, I suppose that would have been too much focus on the characters and the wedding and it would have taken away from the depressing Sharon illness storyline that I still hate and that has cast such a cloud over the whole season.
So, now on to the episode. I promise it’s not full of salt. There were quite a few things I enjoyed, especially considering we didn’t have any talk of Sharon being sick which was GREAT. I would love to be able to put that all behind us, even as I know we have more looming ominously ahead.
Onto the episode--
“Frank Boggs, AKV Security.”
Was it just me or did this guy seem to be a rehash of Dick Tracy? He even looked like Dick Tracy.
“Commander, what are you doing here anyway? I think we can handle an autopsy prelim.”
It sounds like even though they didn’t get to go to Ireland, Andy and Sharon did take some time off for a little honeymoon. I’d like to think they at least got away for a few days up to Santa Barbara or something.
Interesting that Provenza states “Commander, what are you doing here?” I would have thought he would have said “Commander, Flynn what you are both doing here, since I would assume they were honeymooning together. The only thing I can think of was that Provenza was more taking offence that the boss felt the need to come in when he felt he could handle what was going on.
“Nothing random happens in the Palisades.”
I guess I don’t know enough about the Palisades to get all these inside jokes. I do know that Mary lives in the Palisades, but that’s about all I know--and I’m assuming most of America and the rest of the world didn’t get the jokes either.
“Who’s Craig Curtis?”
Andy, Provenza, Sharon and Amy all know their football. Morales is the only one who is lost, after all “It’s not like he was nominated for an Oscar or something.”
“Tackles. Huge TV’s, big burgers, cute girls…Tasteless, the way they dress those waitresses there.”
I do love it when Andy opens mouth and inserts his foot-- and the way he trips all over himself trying to fix things once he gets that narrow eyed look from his wife. Yes his WIFE. He’s not sure if she’s really upset about what he said or not, but I like that she is more amused than anything.
“I should speak to the wrongfully terminated women.”
This is SO something bachelor Andy would have said.
“Don’t apologize again for sleeping with Aidan.”
Okay, so I’m not going to get into how my knickers got all twisted with yet more personal Gusty scenes--we’ve gotten way more of them than the other MAIN couple. What I will say is that when Rusty first starting seeing Gus, I liked Gus. I liked Gus a lot more than I liked Rusty and I felt that Gus was good for Rusty. I liked them as a couple. I didn’t really care about them as a couple, nor was I invested in them and I didn’t really care about seeing any  personal scenes between them, but I was okay with them as a couple. Last season I started to dislike Gus and when Rusty said “good-bye” to him, I really took it to mean good bye. Gus thought they could do the long distance relationship but Rusty knew it was over. And it seemed like that was the logical end of the relationship. Then, this season we have Rusty angsting over Gus, stalking him on social media and Gus not responding to Rusty. Get a clue Russ, the guy is done with you , just like you knew would happen when you said “good bye.” Only now we get more. We find out Gus has been sleeping with Aidan and that he and Rusty are through. Okay, cause I thought you were “through” last season, but, whatever. I really don’t care at all what goes on with these two and hope they stay broken up. This is not a good or healthy relationship.
“A gun…seriously?”
Really? Rusty just leaves his gun laying around? Hardly responsible gun ownership.”
“Man, this calendar is…” Sharon puts her hand out to take it away. “Very offensive Commander.”
Yet again, Wes is so much like Andy.
“You ought to show your tits now cause in a few years no one’s gonna want to see them and you’ll only get hired for your talent.”
OMG, your TALENT. How awful. This scene really hit’s the nail on the head, what with everything going on in the entertainment industry right now. What I found interesting in looking at the reactions of the team to this video, it is the men who are uncomfortable and disgusted--both Andy and Provenza have very visible negative reactions to the video, but Sharon doesn’t. She doesn’t seem to register much in the way of emotion.
I think there are a couple of reasons for this. I’m sure she has had to deal with sexual harassment in the past and this isn‘t as shocking to her as it is to the men. When she asked Jack for a divorce she even made the comment that the time for her needing his ring was long gone. Now that she was in a position of power she didn’t need  what little protection a ring gave her. Sharon is a beautiful woman in a male dominated paramilitary profession, so I feel like she’s experienced some of this first hand. When she was young and just starting out I’m sure she had to learn to keep that professional mask on when she was harassed. Then, she was in FID so I’m sure she saw and heard a hell of a lot when those cases came across her desk and that she probably worked very hard to make sure these guys got punished for their actions. This is the kind of stuff I want to know about Sharon Flynn. Much more interesting than her being sick.
“Gus is struggling to find a decent job.” “Struggling? Why is he struggling?”
First of all I love that Sharon is working on her “thank you” cards--and yes--finally a decent glimpse of the ring. At least there was some continuity with the wedding having taken place, and how like Sharon to get those thank you cards right out.
I loved the amused twist on Rusty’s lips when he tells her Gus is struggling. Mama Bear Flynn has her cub’s back, she seems just as “serves him right” about Gus as Rusty does. Until Rusty says this--- “Because when they stopped sleeping together Aiden fired him and wouldn’t give him a reference.” THAT got her attention.  However much Gus pissed Sharon off, he is now the victim of someone who is breaking the law and as such she jumps to attention making sure Rusty knows that Aidan’s actions are illegal.
I think it’s also interesting to see how far mother and son have come and how more open they are with each other. In a deleted scene (that shouldn’t have been deleted) Sharon wants to talk about overnight guests to the condo. Rusty thinks she’s talking about him and he’s absolutely horrified. He can’t even bring himself to discuss it with her. It turns out that she was referring to her and Andy , and of course he didn’t want to discuss that either, but it looks like they’ve had conversations about Gus sleeping with Aidan.
“Detective Paige, Amy. The man seems to have a thing for attractive young women.” “Well, we’ll do our best but we’re over 30” “You’d never know. Police work keeps you young. Look at my wife.”
BEST line of the whole episode. LOVED IT. Andy is SO frakking adorable. You know he’s been dying to be able to call her his wife, and now that he can he’s going to do it anytime he can. Loved Sharon’s secret little smile, you just know it gives her a little thrill to be called his wife. His beautiful,  young looking wife. And Provenza’s side glance. Very reminiscent of the looks he used to give when Andy started referring to her as Sharon instead of Captain. He’s thinking “Oh Flynn, you sap, you’ve got it SO bad you can’t even see straight.”
“Do you mind, Michael? Some of us are trying to solve a murder.”
This is the first time I’ve heard Andy call Mike, Michael, and I love the way Sharon dropped her forehead onto her hand, like, “Oh, here we go again. Do you really HAVE to get my man all riled up.”
“Did I make mistakes as a husband? Sure. Could I have been more attentive? Absolutely. Should I have slept with so many of her friends, probably not. Bottom line, I treated her like crap. I took her for granted. She left me.”
I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but this guy reminded me so much of Jack Raydor. He even looked a little bit like him. And I got the feeling from the look on her face that Sharon thought so too. I bet she was thinking “I can’t believe I used to put up with a guy like this. Now she has sweet Andy who treats her with such love and respect and who looks at her like the sun rises and sets on her. What I lucky woman.
And by the way. Where was Andy? He was the only member of the team not to go to Tackles. I would have thought it was because he hadn’t been cleared for field duty, but in Sanctuary City 1 he makes the comment that he can be in the field as long as Sharon is present and he was out in the field during that story arc. So, why not now?
“If I leave here today without your signature and a check covering two month’s of Gus’s pay, you have no idea how ugly this is gonna get. Or maybe you do.”
Rusty has learned a lot from his Mama. This scene really reminded me of the scene when Sharon Flynn went to see Sharon Beck in jail and laid down the law to her.
I will end with saying that we got another scene in Aidan’s restaurant when supposedly it was too expensive to film Shandy scenes on location. Those were two restaurant scenes that could have been dates.
Just saying…
