the first episode of fhjy was such a fucking blast. one of my favorite moments was most of the bad kids succeeding on their saving throws against being Frightened by the Night Yorb but Adaine failed, and when Brennan asked Siobhan how this looks/feels for Adaine, Siobhan was answered “i feel a panic attack coming on.”

and it’s like. as much as Adaine has changed since the beginning, it’s really refreshing to see that her anxiety disorder didn’t vanish with her character development. like, they’re acknowledging how that kinda stuff doesn’t just go away — you can’t really get over it so easily. Thinking again about the fact that when Eddie and Dustin finally convince Steve to play DnD with the party, all of them, but especially Eddie, quickly become exasperated with Steve who has extremely high charisma, and decides that he can fix almost any situation by flirting with whoever they were in conflict with. Especially the fucking monsters, this man is bound and determined to himself a monster boyfriend and until it happens, he will make every single person they come across fall in love with him. So naturally, this happens a lot:

Eddie, exasperated: Steve, you can’t date this monster, he’s trying to kill you-

Steve: Hot.

i feel like the boys’ representation in “it’s a terrible life” is a really accurate and insightful look into how they work on an Instinctual level.

at first it seems like just a funny bit for dean to be the one dismissing the ghost thing, but dean wesson actually fits perfectly into dean’s personality. i mean, think about it. hunter dean is OBSESSED with the job. he lives breathes and sleeps hunting. he’s proud of who he is and what he does, and he enjoys being a part of something. this episode shows how that’s part of dean’s intrinsic personality. he needs order. structure. discipline.

sam is mischaracterized as ‘the emotional one’, but i think dean’s a lot more of a romantic than him. he likes the idea of a stable life, whether that’s hunting or a cushy corporate job. he wakes up at 6am everyday, has a distinct routine and a circle of friends. he does herbal detoxes and drinks frothy rice milk lattes.

life is a package for him. dean likes fitting in. he doesn’t like breaking status quo. he instinctively looks to blend in, whether that’s in a corporate environment or with his father and other hunters. dean likes the idea of family. connection. he needs people, people who are familiar and trustworthy. he’s very community/family oriented. he’s not a lone wolf.

but sam on the other hand, he’s intrinsically in tune with weird frequencies. he’s strange and he picks up strange things. he cares about people and appreciates connection but he values himself and his gut instinct more. he loves sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. he doesn’t give a fuck about blending in. he didn’t as a hunter so he sure as hell doesn’t in a goddamn tech support cubicle.

sam straight up tells dean that everything about this feels wrong. and you can TELL that dean feels it as well. sam tells him that he thinks he should be doing more, it’s in his blood, he hates everything about this fake life. but dean deflects. no matter how uncomfortable he seems he pushes it down in favour of predictably and routine. even if deep down, he knows its wrong, it takes him a lot more time than sam to admit it.

this shows that sam is more than ‘hunting bad’ and dean is more than ‘hunting good’. it was never about hunting. sam refuses to turn a blind eye. he WANTS to rebel. it’s his nature. he instinctively looks for things that don’t line up and he calls that out. he doesn’t care about the backlash. dean needs stability. he needs people. he needs to feel like he’s a part of something. it’s why he brushes off that feeling of wrongness so quickly at the beginning of the episode, because he’s willing to overlook some of the bad for the benefits.

it’s just like how hunter dean is willing to defend john, defend the grisly violence of hunting, and convince himself into thinking this is his only choice. sam refuses to do that. he instead latches onto that feeling of otherness and rebels even though it costs him family and familiarity.

can’t think of anything to say other than it was everything I could have ever expected and wanted and hoped for. seeing them perform truly is an electric experience and I am so, so grateful I got to be there. I’ve never felt such overflowing joy and love in one room before and that truly is down to what a one-of-a-kind group Starkid is. Within the first interactions of this character and knowing almost nothing else about Fabian other than his dancing, seeing prof. Skullcleaver validate Fabian’s new outlook on his future in dance (and just life in general) in a way that actually makes him feel seen and loved and actually excited for life in comparison to all of the other adults in his life makes me so happy for him. I’m not trying to invalidate all of the other adults in his life, who love and appreciate him as he is. But it’s never to an extent where they solely see him as Fabian making a name for himself in the present, as opposed to Fabian continuously working to make a name for himself for the future. Fabian wanting to take a moment away from the “bad kids investigation mode” to not only get a much needed break from it all, but also to focus on himself in a way we haven’t seen before. A way where he can understand that he doesn’t need to take on the weight of always needing to be on the move or doing extravagant deeds in order to be seen as a valid member of society. He could just be. Live in the moment. Appreciate the journey and not focus on the destination as much as he has.

Freshman year Fabian was working solely to make a name for himself for his future. Junior year Fabian is now working to stop and take in the view on the way there.

⚠️ Major spoilers for Ahsoka ep 4 ⚠️

This fucking episode was so good. My favorite so far and I just can’t believe how much I’m enjoying this show.

First I know all the Marrok theorists are punching the air rn. I had a feeling he was gonna be a nobody especially when he was fighting Ahsoka. She disrespected this man so bad using only one saber the whole time.

Shin vs Sabine rematch was cool. Nothing too crazy like their first fight but the “you have no power.” Line was delivered so well. It sounded almost as if Shin was making fun of Sabine or calling her weak. Something like that

We got Ahsoka vs Baylan which was very cool to see. Now despite Ahsoka losing I do think they are evenly matched. Ahsoka had the disadvantage of focusing on the map. Also I didn’t expect that it would burn the shit out of her. I’m really excited to see if they will have a rematch later.

Ahsoka force throwing Shin into a wall. At first I thought Ahsoka was gonna force choke her and I was like okay go ape shit then but no just a force throw.

Sabine not destroying the map was interesting. Shows that she has too much attachment. She literally would rather join (get captured by) dark side users for a chance to see Ezra rather than let him go to prevent a war. I’m very excited to see where they take Sabine’s character.

Also Shin force choking her afterwards. Shin is an interesting character. I can’t tell if she hates Sabine but I also feel like Shin is the type of character that would rather prove herself by killing Sabine in battle but she force choked her and almost went for an easy kill. Idk cuz we don’t know much about Shin and where she stands morally yet so yeah.

Okay and now for the most exciting part. HOLY FUCKING SHIT WBW AND ANAKIN. HAYDEN CALLED HER SNIPS AND SHE RESPONDED WITH MASTER AHHH. HES HERE IM SO EXCITED FOR WHAT WE ARE ABOUT TO SEE NEXT EPISODE WITH THESE 2.

I think Ahsoka is gonna ask Anakin for advice with Sabine. I also think they are definitely gonna confront the past both clones wars era and talk about Vader (maybe) but definitely talking about them in the clone wars

Gosh I really hope Forever learns about bbh’s “friend” if not today then soon because we all know Forever’s plan the feds thwarted of building a world eater to strip the server to bedrock. Im just so fascinated by the two extremes these two characters could reach.

Forever’s wrath was indiscriminate and wild. He didn’t have a target other than creating such destruction in general that it would scare the feds into giving their children back but we saw how that went - the feds either didn’t give him a chance or rolled back the damage he did.

Bbh’s wrath is so much quieter and laser focused, maybe on the wrong thing but it is focused none the less. Bbh started small by simply kidnapping one of the workers and psychologically torturing it for a week before expanding into actual physical torture.

There is something so much worse about premeditated cruelty then taking your rage out on the world in a burst of uncontrollable rage. Based on the dream/memory Forever shared with us, it looked like he lost control and went mad in his rage/grief. He even admitted recently that he’d rather willingly take the happy pills then feel that way again.

Bbh has never lost control. What we are seeing now has always been inside of him deep below the surface, it’s always been a part of him. He’s always been capable of this. The only reason he feels any kind of guilt is because he knows the people he loves wouldn’t approve but he himself clearly enjoys this.

I want Forever and Baghera to realize this side of their friend. I want them to realize this isn’t some stage of grief but that they are seeing a side of him that he’s hidden for so long. Bbh is cruel. He is malicious and merciless and kind and all of the things they know him to be.

(Also the fact he wants to make the islanders suffer to fuel their anger at the federation. He’s directly targeting their friends and pretty much caused the deaths of almost everyone on the island already)
