1. Introduction
Name (last, first): Bunjaku
Nickname(s): Daifuku (a traditional Japanese sweet)
Age: 17-19
Species: Human
Gender: Nonbinary Male
Pronouns: He/Him, They/Them
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual Polyamorous
Birthday: June 28
Life Story: Bunjaku is a minor returning character in the hubtown and is usually sought out by Jakotsu because of his sexuality and openness about his attraction to other men. He was sold into a brothel by his family when caught in a relationship with another teenage boy of a high ranking family who was engaged to a girl of a similar ranking family. He and the boy talked about leaving their town to be together, but after the boy’s father heard of this, everything fell apart. The boy was forced to face Bunjaku in a sword match to the death for his ‘betrayal’ to his family. He only managed to leave a cut on Bunjaku’s cheek before he turned around and said everything between the two of them was a lie. He was just trying to run away from responsibility and his duties to his family. Just because he was being childish didn’t mean Bunjaku needed to die. Due to this event and his family disowning him, Bunjaku doesn’t feel like he can emotionally let people too close to him. Otherwise, he would be in a relationship with one (or more) of his clients.
Though the word nonbinary didn’t exist at the time when asked, Bunjaku explains he doesn’t strongly feel he is male or female, but somewhere in the middle or neither. He does use male pronouns, but when strangers address him as ‘them’ he secretly feels validated. His nickname Daifuku was given to him by Jakotsu because of how sweet he is.
He works as a kagema, or male prostitute, in the hub town (Kyoto as of now). He presents himself much like Jakotsu. Bunjaku is very flamboyant, but very soft spoken. He wears a loosely tied yukata with one sleeve on, one sleeve off, and his hair tied back in a low ponytail that he often brushes over his right shoulder.
Fun Fact: Bunjaku’s reincarnation, named Bushimichi (Buu for short), is/was a part of a fanfiction called Inu Generations where Jakotsu, Bankotsu, and Kagura are granted new lives and are tasked with taking care of and raising InuYasha’s granddaughter and Sesshomaru’s grandson. Buu is romantically interested in Bankotsu, and helps Ban embrace his bisexuality (I ship him with Jakotsu, and since Ban states he finds Kikyo attractive, bisexual it is. Welcome to my shit headcanon.)
2. About Him/Her
Alignment: True Neutral/Neutral Good
Personality: Sweet, Soft-spoken, Nurturing, Positive, Encouraging, Reasonably Distant, Social Butterfly, Extroverted (but has ambivert-like tendencies), Bit of Goofball
Good Habit(s): He has a tendency to brush his ponytail over his right shoulder. He usually does it out of habit, but when embarrassed, surprised, flustered, or experiencing strong emotions he’ll either grab at it to somewhat hide his face and/or play with the tip of it. It’s also a strong tell if he has something on his mind when he’s by himself.
Bad Habit(s): He’s not in a place that he can be completely open with anyone. He has people in his life he’s close with, but he does keep a bit of a distance so he won’t get hurt by others. Bunjaku is willing to talk about this and his past if in the right mood and mind set, but if not he’ll say it’s too painful and that he’s trying to move pasted it. He has periods of laziness where he spends a lot of time sleeping and just generally lazing about.
Like(s): He actually likes his job. It has its bad sides, but he really likes to get to know his clients. He likes to make them feel welcome, and hear their stories. When he’s not working he’s either chatting with the yujo or their clients.
Dislike(s): He hates not being taken seriously because of how he looks, how he presents himself, or his sexuality. It’s one of the few things that actually gets a rise out of him. He doesn’t want to be a ‘man’s man’.
Hobbies: Socializing, Sleeping, Playing with Cho
Strength(s): He is a very friendly and positive person that people gravitate towards.
Weakness(es): Due to his babyface, some of his male clients and other males have tried to forcefully have their way with Bunjaku. The women of the brothel are increasingly protective of him, and will secretly check on him and his clients.
Special Powers/Abilities: N/A
Extras: People usually have a distinct perception of him. He is the living embodiment of a cavity, and is too sweet. He’s also not the biggest fan of sweeter foods.
3. Dreams and Talents
Ambition/Life-long Dream: Find a loving partner(s) and settle down
Occupation/Job: Kagema (Male Prostitute)
Best Class(es): Daggers and Knives
Worst Class(es): All other weapons
4. Family and Friends

8. Character Opinions [What Your OC thinks about the characters]
Band of Seven: They’re all friendly with me, but I only have connections to Jakotsu and Bankotsu. Though, they all agreed I have a nice ass. That was a fun night!
Bankotsu: I don’t know him the greatest, but I tried to comfort him about his possible attraction to the same sex. He was very defensive and confused about the exchange.
Jakotsu: He is a regular client of mine when in town. Though he can be rough with me, he always makes sure I feel comfortable and effectively babies me during aftercare and anytime we’re in public together.
After Story: Five or six years after hearing the news of the Band of Seven being executed, Bunjaku is approached by what seems to be an old client he hasn’t seen in years with a woman by his side. The old client is named Kazuo and the woman is Tsuya. They ask to speak with Bunjaku after he’s done working.
“So what didn’t you want to talk about, Kazuo? Wanting to catch up?”
He and his wife looked at each other awkwardly before explaining the ‘situation’. Kazuo introduced his wife, Tsuya, to Bunjaku. Bunjaku was thrilled to know Kazuo has a partner and has settled down. Kazuo went on to explain that despite being married, he still had strong feelings for Bunjaku, and that his wife was comfortable with the idea of him having a male partner. Bunjaku was incredibly taken aback, and fingered at his ponytail out of habit.
“U-uhmm,...if we were going t-to do this, I-I’d like to-uh...get to know your wife first. J-Just so everything is, uh, no one is, we aren’t, uh-I’m not overstepping any boundaries.”
Tsuya chimed in, “He’s just as sweet and cute as you said he was!” causing Bunjaku to blush even more than he already was, and hide his face behind his ponytail and hands.
Kazuo and Bunjaku’s relationship started out slowly. Communication between the three was open and honest. While he and Kazuo were getting more intimate, Bunjaku and Tsuya were getting closer, and some sparks began to fly. Soon enough, the two come to the conclusion that they were falling in love as well. The three of them eventually sat down and the husband and wife declaration their mutual love for Bunjaku. The trio of now lovers agreed that all partners were allowed to be intimate.
The triad lived very happily together for about a year or two until Tsuya fell pregnant. They didn’t know if the child’s father was Bunjaku or Kazuo, but all of them were excited about the new arrival. Bunjaku’s mention of the name Aiko (love child) was what they decided to name the baby girl when she was born. They had one more child between them, another girl named Honoka (harmony flower). It wouldn’t be until years later that the father of each child became more evident. Aiko looked and acted more like Bunjaku, while the same could have been said for Honoka and Kazuo. The girls were two years and three months apart.
Years later while shopping with a young Aiko, Bunjaku saw a face that used to haunt his dreams. It was the boy, now man, that was the first love of his life and the reason for the scar on his right cheek. The man recognized Bunjaku, stopped him, and awkwardly explained that he did indeed love Bunjaku and apologized about the scar. The interaction was bittersweet for the both of them. It gave them both some kind of closure, but it left the man wondering what could have been if he stood up for the two of them when they were young teenagers.
A/N: Thank you for reading and sorry about any typos! I can only find so many errors when editing things myself.

Shinso Hitoshi x Reader (Y/n)
Word Count: 1.4k
Warnings: language maybeeee? Fluffffff
Summary: Shinso(u?) and y/n are invited to EraserMic’s place for dinner... and a show ;)
My first lengthy-ish fic! I hope y’all like it ahah... i could be convinced to write a more nsfw part 2,,, idk. ALSO someone help like is Shinso’s name with or without the u?
You had been dating Shinsou for almost a year now. You both had attended UA highschool and met your 2nd year, his 3rd. You often doubted your relationship with Toshi due to the differences you both shared. Where your boyfriend was tirelessly training to become one of UA’s top hero graduates, you tinkered around in the support course trying to help however you could.
Despite the contrast in the lives you both lead, Shinsou seemed to love you as fiercely as he always had.
“Hey, kitten.” The familiar sound of your boyfriend’s raspy voice sounds behind your ear as his arms wrap around your torso. “What ya been up to today?” He rests his head in the crook of your neck and plants a quick kiss on the juncture.
“Just planning some support items for one of your friends, his name is Doofus… or something.” You settle into Shinsou’s embrace and the tension from the day seeped from your shoulders. “He has an energy quirk and he wants-”
“D-d-doofus?” Your boyfriend’s chest was shaking with barely restrained laughter. “You mean Denki? Kaminari?” He met your scowl with light eyes, “And you know I don’t have friends, babe. Only you.” He leaned back and sent a wink your way.
“Ugh, leave me alone Toshi. It’s been a long day.” You punched his arm and laughed at the pout he sent your way. “Shouldn’t you be with Eraser right now anyways? I don’t want you to be late.”
Another thing you loved about your boyfriend, his relentless determination. His quirk is super scary, especially when there’s a villain on the receiving end. All it takes is one response and his victim’s mind is under his unrelenting grip, but his quirk requires rarely any combat efficiency.
Class 1-A’s homeroom teacher, Shouta Aizawa (more commonly known as the erasure hero, Eraserhead) took notice of Shinsou’s quirk and decided to mentor him due to the similarities in their quirks. And you sure as hell weren’t complaining. Your boyfriend has bulked up significantly, climbed the ranks of UA’s hero course, and gained a father figure in the two years he’s been under Aizawa’s wing.
“Chill kitty cat, he knows where I am.” Shinsoo’s response was nothing less than you expected from the laid back man. “He actually sentume to talk to you.” Another lazy smile and a hand through his unruly indigo locks, “You wanna come over to Eraser’s tonight? Mic is cookin’ his famous fried chicken.” His hopeful smile did strange things to your heart and sent butterflies swarming in your stomach.
You nodded your head enthusiastically. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world, dude! I love those guys.” You manage to duck under your boyfriend’s arm and give him a tight hug, “Now go get all sweaty and stuff.”
Shinsou’s deep chuckle vibrated through you, “Alright babe, see you at seven?”
“You know it.” With a wink and a kiss blown your way, he was gone.
You made your way up the stairs leading to Eraserhead and Present Mic’s house, which was very humble for two Pro Heroes. At first it was very hard for you to imagine UA’s most polarizing teachers as a couple, but the more time you spent around the two the more you began to understand the couple’s dynamic. Hizashi’s rowdy and loud personality was perfectly balanced by Aizawa’s calm and sarcastic nature.
Unsurprisingly, as you rounded the corner and approached the front door, you could already hear Mic’s loud singing. Laughing to yourself, you ring the doorbell and wait patiently for someone to let you inside. You’re half an hour early but that’s nothing unusual, you usually arrive early to catch up with your favorite pros.
A few seconds later the door bursts open and you’re face to face with a much more laid back version of Present Mic than you’re used to. His golden hair is pulled back on the nape of his neck, his glasses are pushed down the bridge of his nose, and on top of his sweats and t-shirt he’s wearing an apron dusted with flour.
“OHHH YEAH!” You wince slightly as Mic’s quirk activates the tiniest bit. “Oops, sorry Y/n,” His cheeks are dusted with an embarrassed blush, “I get a little excited when I see our favorite student!”
You can’t help but giggle at Mic’s antics as he leads you into the kitchen. You hear a now-familiar sigh around the corner, “Zashi you’re lucky I’m not going to tell Shinsou he’s not your favorite.” Aizawa presses a tired kiss to his partner’s cheek and looks at you, “He’s in the shower Y/n, he should be out soon.”
“Thanks Mr. Aizawa. And thank you both for inviting me!”
The calmer of the pair smiles and chuckles, “I told you to call me Aizawa when we’re not at school, and family is welcome here anytime.” A small voice calls out from the living room. “I’ll be with Eri if anyone needs me.” You’re touched by Aizawa’s rare smile and kindness. Family? Behind those under-eye bags and that monstrous sleeping bag, he’s just a softy.
“Come on, listener! I’ve got a killer playlist and some chicken waitin’ to be fried.”Another plus to being Present Mic’s dinner guest? The music, of course.
Twenty minutes later and both you and Mic are staring at the chicken bubbling in the hot oil. His green eyes meet yours and blonde eyebrows wiggle behind his wire framed glasses, “You know what we need Y/n?”
You shake your head, not having a clue what the boisterous hero is talking about. He walks over to his phone, which is bluetoothed to the speakers scattered throughout the house, and scrolls through his music.
The first few beats of It’s Tricky by Run-DMC ring out, “Oh Shit!” your hands fly to your mouth, “Oh my gosh, Mic I’m so sorry! I just… I love this song.” You shoot a small smile his way, and to no one’s surprise he smiles back.
“You and me both, listener!” He jumps over to you, “Let’s dance!”
Present Mic has moves, you soon discover. With the music blaring in the kitchen, the two of you bust it down. No dance move is forgotten, new or old. The sprinkler is a crowd favorite, and the lawnmower is obviously a close second. Through fits of giggles and one very dramatic solo by the seasoned pro neither of you noticed your significant others step into the doorway of the kitchen.
As the song drew to an end, you’re met with two pairs of amused eyes and one very enthusiastic round of applause. You flush with embarrassment as you meet your boyfriend’s indigo eyes. His laughter can be heard over the next song on Mic’s playlist.
“Y/n!” Eri squeals and begins to wiggle in Shinsou’s arms, which you notice are bare. You raise an eyebrow towards his unclothed chest and still-wet hair.
“Hi Eri! C’mere.” You can’t help but beam as your boyfriend plops the little girl on her feet. “How have you been?” You pick her up and place a kiss on her forehead, encouraged by her loud giggles.
“I’m super good!” She smiles, “I loved your dance!” You give Eri lots of tiny kisses, all over her face.
“Thanks, Eri!” You redirect your attention to your boyfriend, “So nice of you to join us, Toshi.” You toss an easy smile his way.
“I heard there was a show, Y/n. I definitely couldn’t miss that.” His eyes never leave yours as they darken almost imperceptibly. His sweatpants left nothing to the imagination and he had yet to put on a shirt. Maybe Shinsou liked your show more than he let on. He runs his fingers through his damp hair, making sure his toned arms are on full display.
Aizawa, ever the referee, clears his throat,” The food smells amazing babe,” and damn it all to hell, “you’ve still got it Zashi.” He throws a wink at his blonde husband, who blushes in return. Like father, like son.
“Ewwww, Dad!” Eri whines, which causes everyone to laugh, “Can we pretty please eat? I’m hungry.”
Shinsou grabs a shirt off the back of a chair and puts it on quickly. He grabs Eri and spins her in the air, “Anything for the princess.” He blows a raspberry into her stomach and her giggles fill the kitchen.
“These kids.” Aizawa sighs and shares a secret smile with Hizashi. Shinsou looks at you again with a strange look in his expression.
The butterflies come back, stronger than ever.

hello!!
welcome to my lil internet home, I hope ur cozy!
I’ve never really posted anything of my own or interacted with any of u sweet beans before, and this post will likely be long and will probably be rambly, if u preferto ignore this, feel free to scroll past! I won’t be offended =/ᐠ•ω•ᐟ\=
my intention with this account was never to gain any sort of following, nor did I want any attention drawn to me personally bc internet anxieties and I’ve always feared having any sort of noticeable online presence
the goal of my time here has been to form a virtual happiness scrapbook, a cozy space, a corner of the Internet catered to my ideas of a comfort zone or things that make me feel good inside. a collection of things to look back at and encourage me to feel happy about existing in this world on days that I’m feeling blue.
I’ve realized the amount of people enjoying my e-haven with me has grown, and while that initially made me a bit nervous, it’s very exciting to see so many people with similar interests and ideals of comfy. I love sharing this space with all of u and I’m so happy if anything I spread to ur little world can make it a bit brighter ♡ ʕ´•ᴥ•`ʔ
I think as I’ve grown and changed, I’ve become more comfortable with taking up space in the world. including the virtual one. I would really like not just to be more interactive with u all, but to also share more, say more, to be less hidden away bc in this current day, social media and the internet + ur presence on them and what u present is a very prevalent part of our society, the way we’re seen, the way we remember things nd eventually the way we’re remembered ourselves. there’s already no true privacy in the world so I might as well stop being afraid of being recognized. while I may not share this space with anyone in my personal life, I get to share it with a bunch of internet strangers, and that’s pretty neat. even if u will never rly know me, I’m still making my presence known in the world in some way.
I love u, I hope you have a wonderful experience existing in spite of all of the bullshit that comes with it. if u wanna get to know me, chat, ask questions, etc. then please feel free to do so, I’d love to get to know all of u!! (。◕‿◕。)

Cordonian Wags
Part 24
Tumblr media
In a world full of Professional footballers and their demanding wives- can their football team nicknamed the ‘Cordonian Apples’ succeed? An American female physiotherapist joins the club. Will this cause issues with the footballers wives?
Book: The Royal Romance (A/U plot switch)
*Majority of the characters belong to Pixelberry*
Please do not read if under the age of 18. If you do, you are consenting that you are over this age. If any of the trigger warnings below affect you, please do not continuing reading the chapter! 😊
Warnings: Swearing, mention of cancer, mention of sex, mention of domestic abuse (past tense).
A/N: I feel like this is a filler chapter, and some of you may hate Riley in this 🤷‍♀️. As always there’s drama 🤦🏻‍♀️
Word Count: 2100ish

Fuck.
Running out of the bathroom, Riley knew exactly who it was- and she wasn’t going to stop until she confronted the woman.
“What are you doing here?”
“Oh, Riley. I do feel for you. Honestly I do. But I hope that you don’t fight this.”
“Take that back Kiara! What are you doing here anyway?” Drake snapped towards his ex.
“I’m paying my respect to my lover, who was murdered if you’ve forgotten. Both myself and Madeleine are here. Then I saw you run off Drake- I wanted to make sure that you was okay.” Moving closer towards him, she reached her arm out towards him- hoping to comfort him. However he dodged it, instead wrapping his arms around Riley’s waist.
“No, I’m not okay- but that is none of your concern. Don’t tell anyone what you overheard...”
“Drake.. I know how much Riley means to you. But I’m here still. I can heal you.” Fuck she said something similar in my dream.
“I’m still here you know! You never deserved someone like Drake!”
“Maybe not, but people change. As I said, I hope that you don’t fight this. I’m still here- and I’ll always be here. Along with your ex husbands money.. we can have a great future, Drake. Don’t worry I’ll keep your little secret, won’t be long until the press find out though...” Walking away with a smirk, Riley didn’t trust her one bit- Kiara would do anything and everything to ruin their relationship.
And that’s it- full time! Well done to the Apples, what a fantastic match.
“Shall we head up upstairs? I’ll quickly change before they all go to the changing room. I’ll meet you up there.” Riley just nodded, knowing that going upstairs was about to be like entering a battlefield.
*****
Arriving upstairs, there were the usual familiar faces- the other WAGS. Then there was Kiara and Madeleine smirking, as if neither had done anything wrong in the past. They shouldn’t be there. They had no right to be there. They were ex partners. Not part of the ‘team’ anymore. Joining Olivia at the bar, Riley ordered a double whiskey. Ever since her cancer diagnosis she had avoided alcohol- but due to her run in with Kiara prior she needed it for Dutch courage.
“Woah, slow down.. what’s the matter with you?” Olivia asked, looking at her concerned. Ordering another, she really didn’t care what anyone thought anymore.
“Kiara and Madeleine are here. Kiara knows something about me. She’s not going to stop.”
“What does she know? Just ignore them. They’ll soon be booted out of here.”
“It doesn’t matter....”
“I killed your husband for you, if there’s something on your mind you can talk to me...”
“Kiara wants Drake back. That’s all.” Partially lying, she didn’t want to disclose the other reasoning as to why she was upset with Kiara’s presence in the room.
“Well Kiara can go and fuck herself with a baguette. He’s yours, he’s smitten with you. Don’t ever allow that French talking moron to steal him from you.” But one day I’m not going to be here, Riley thought to herself. Feeling familiar arms go around her waist, she was going to cherish every moment with Drake from now on.
*****
Bertrand provided a short speech regarding the deaths of Constantine and Xavier. Even though deep down he didn’t want to as he was aware of their true personalities he felt the need to. To prove to the press that the club were fully ‘heartbroken’ about the news. Clearing his throat he quickly changed the subject, the club had some positive news to share.
“Before the chairman passed away, he was in the process of signing two new players to join our club. Since his passing, I completed these contracts with the support of; the head of recruitment, head of performance and analysis as well as the chief scout. I am pleased to announce that the two men who will be joining us will be arriving tomorrow. You may all know one of them, Neville Vancouver....”
“Who’s neville Vancouver?” Riley whispered in Leo’s ear.
“Trust me, you don’t want to know. He thinks he’s better than the rest of us. We played against his team last year, he has some beef with Drake. We don’t know why. He is always determined to break Drakes leg. I think it’s because Drake doesn’t have family who played professional football prior to him.”
“He sounds a snobby arsehole...” Leo high fived her. If his father wasn’t already dead, he potentially would be now. This news would never go down well with the team.
“The second player hasn’t played for Cordonian team before, so it’s a big change for him. I hope that you all make him feel welcome. Riley, you may know him....” Riley’s eyes widened, panic started running through he veins- wondering why she would know him.
“His name is Olivier Berger...”
“Fuck!” Not knowing how loudly that word slipped out, she soon had an audience as Bertrand continued talking about the mans career.
“Fuck?” Drake and Leo questioned her.
“Olivier played alongside Xavier in Manchester....”
“So why is that bad?”
“He’s the reason Xavier ....” Feeling like she couldn’t breathe, flashbacks from her past soon entered her mind.
“He’s one of the reasons that arsehole hurt my sister! Riley helped him recover from an injury and Olivier was forever grateful for her saving his career. That was all. Nothing more but Xavier became jealous.” Without fully elaborating, the gentlemen knew exactly what Lindsey was referring to. The abuse that Riley had received due to Xavier’s jealousy.
“Well it’ll be nice for him to have a friendly face when he arrives.” Drake said in a positive manner. Encouraging her not to worry about it.
“To end this speech, I’d just like to thank you all for putting in so much effort in today’s match. Even with the little disturbance from you Walker. Carry on putting one hundred per cent.....” Bertrand paused his speech as his phone began ringing along with a few notifications. Declining the call he read the notifications- his eyes widened before locking eyes with Riley. Suddenly an echo of gasps surrounded the room.
“Riley?” Bertrand managed to croak out, leading all eyes to land in her direction. Drake could feel Riley’s grip become tighter. Liam and Leo pulled her in for a tight hug, now she knew what was happening. Drake left her side. Not that he wanted to. Storming towards Kiara and Madeleine, they both fluttered their eyelashes towards him.
“Drake I’m so sorry to read about this...” Madeleine expressed in a fake sorrowful tone of voice before smirking.
“How could you do this Kiara?” Kiara pulled him to the side.
“I didn’t. I may have in a way threatened to do it but I would never do that. She’s dying anyway, so I just needed to be patient to win you back.”
“You and I were the only people who knew. So do explain to me how the press know the minute you found out?” Focusing her gaze towards her friend, Madeleine raised her drink into the air whilst winking. This was all the proof Drake needed. Somehow the witch knew. And exposed it. Still not trusting Kiara’s words, he decided to turn his anger towards the blonde. Kiara grabbed his arm, forcing him to face her. Caressing his cheek, she provided him with a soft smile as he tried to force his body away from her. Pulling him closer to her, she placed her lips on to his- keeping a tight grip on him.
“I love you, Drake. I’m always going to be here. I wouldn’t hurt you again.” Drake stood still, in shock that she would pull a stunt like this.
“Riley! Wait!” Pushing Kiara off of him, he saw all of his team mates run after Riley as the door slammed shut.
“Get the fuck out of my life, Kiara!”
*****
Drake kept calling and texting Riley but there was no answer. From his point of view he knew that she was in shock as the Rhys held her tight. Wishing it was him instead. Wishing that he had stayed comforting her rather than demanding the truth from his ex. Instead Kiara forced a kiss up on his lips, and Madeleine was back with her cunning plans. Causing trouble as she always did.
Arriving home, he hoped that she was there. That hope soon disappeared. Heading straight to her apartment, he had the press following his every move. No luck there either. Trying each of his team mates houses, no one had seen or heard from her.
Riley Brooks the Apples physio, loses her ‘ex’ husband. Now according to an anonymous source there is talk of a cancer scare? Is there trouble in paradise, as Drake Walker has been spotted driving around Cordonia- we assume searching for his girlfriend? More news to follow....
Entering the cabin alone, he was worried for her welfare and state of mind. He kept trying to contract her, losing his mind. He hoped that she would return on her own accord.
Please let me know that you are okay. Please come home. I love you so much x
*****
“He’s gone. You can come out now.”
“Thank you for covering for me.”
“He’s going to be losing his mind! Explain to us everything. Now!”
“Yes, I have cancer. I’m having an operation in a couple of weeks time. I didn’t want to worry anyone...so I didn’t want it to become public knowledge until after the op. Kiara overheard us discuss it. She’s the one that went to the press....” Breaking down in tears, her two friends comforted her as best as they could.
“And then he kissed her...” Barely speaking the words out- she felt as if her world had come crashing down in an instant.
“He wouldn’t kiss her on his own accord. It seemed like it was forced.”
“He’s a man, why couldn’t he push her away? If he loved me, he would have stayed with me. Stayed away from her.”
The two of them looked concerned at each other, Drake was a man who couldn’t defend himself against Kiara’s abuse for years. If a stranger looked at her, she looked innocent and sweet- possibly gave the impression of being the doting girlfriend. But she wasn’t.
“You need to talk to him. Let him know that you’re safe at least.”
“I will do. At some point. I promise. I won’t be a burden for you both.”
*****
Two weeks later, Riley was at hospital preparing for her operation. She had stayed at her friends house, but refused to see Drake. Speaking to him on the phone, the conversations hit a dead end- he had insisted on coming to see her just to make sure that she was okay. However, she refused. Just saying that she will see him after her operation. In those two weeks, he kept himself to himself- whilst trying to hunt Madeleine down. To question her about her actions, to ask what benefitted her from doing this.
Arriving at the hospital, he demanded to know where Riley was- Lindsey had text him confirming that she was having the operation today.
“Mr Walker, you can’t see her just yet. I’ll let her know that you are here when she comes out of recovery.”
“That’s not good enough! Please... I just need to see her. Even if it’s for a minute.” Unlike Leo, he didn’t like to use his money for bribery- but in this situation, anything was worth a try.
“Right this way, Mr Walker.” Following the receptionist, she introduced him to the theatre nurse in charge. Knowing that they were going against hospital policies and procedures- the nurse led Drake into the room.
“What are you doing here?” Wondering why the staff would allow him to enter the room, whilst she laid down having her cannula inserted.
“I told you that I was going to be here every step...I’m going to hold your hand until you fall asleep, and I’m going to be here when you wake up.”
“Ki... Kia.. Kiara...” Seeing the anaesthetic quickly work its magic, he knew he had to be quick with his words.
“She forced that kiss upon me... I love you, Riley. We are going to get through this together- we are soulmates, you came in to my life for a reason. We are going to have a baby once this is over. I’m going to continue to play, to provide for the two of us...Madeleine was the one that went to the press, I assume anyway. Please don’t shut me out. I know that you’re upset, we didn’t plan for it to come out the way it did. But I’m here, always.”
“Dr.. Drake...” Forcing his hand off of hers, she may be half asleep but her brain was still fully functioning for the moment. Forcing her hand back into his, he kissed it softly. Letting it linger there.
“Marry me Riley...”

About; Rules; FAQ
Welcome to Roleplay Salt! This is a blog for roleplayers to vent & rant anonymously about the things that peeve or hurt them in the roleplaying community.
GENERAL
Your submission will always be posted anonymously; no exceptions. (This includes positivity submissions & shoutouts.)
Your submission’s text will be placed in a graphic and then copied as plain text as its caption for accessibility purposes.
Topics must be roleplay-related. (This can, of course, include experiences with partners doing things that may be unrelated to roleplay, but would still be considered relevant if it impacts your roleplaying experience with that particular partner.)
Anyone following our blog will be allowed to leave replies on submissions, whether in agreement or disagreement, and everyone is allowed (even encouraged) to reblog submissions, with or without their own commentary. However, we will delete any spamming comments, including ones that are or are similar to “Why don’t you come off anon and say that?” Such comments provide nothing to the discussion. In fact, they usually shut down discussion and it completely disregards the entire point of this blog’s existence. No one has to “come off anon” nor are they “cowards” for seeking safety behind anonymity. Your aggressiveness with that sentiment only reinforces the reason why they want to be anonymous in the first place. ADDENDUM: We will delete salt replies that involve simply telling others to, essentially, “shut up and move on already” and “stop sending salt replies in about this”. You’re more than allowed to say this things in the comments, but we will no longer be making them a part of any future debates.
We actively edit and restructure the wording of submissions. We read every single one of your submissions and we care about consistency and readability. We will correct any spelling errors, grammar errors, and odd sentencing structure, and we will often lengthen abbreviations and slang, and we will fill out any curse words or sensitive terms that were originally 'censored' in the submissions. Do not take it personally! Again, we aim for consistency. We will never just copy/paste your submission and then post it. That's terrible.

The “Flour” category is reserved for any submissions that do not appropriately fit under “Salt” or “Sugar”, often involving personal confessions and storytelling.
C A L L O U T S    &    S H O U T O U T S
A callout submission is specifically speaking nastily and meanly about someone else, regardless if it’s the truth or not.  All URLs & names in a callout submission will be marked out to preserve the other party’s anonymity as well.  We are a safe place for you to release your anger, frustration and hurt, even if it’s towards someone and not something. But we cannot and will not participate in the true nature of a callout. That will need to be something that you do for yourself if you believe that it’s important for you, your friends and your fandom community.
A shoutout submission is specifically speaking kindly and positively about someone else.
All URLs & names in a shoutout submission will remain visible, and the person will be tagged & mentioned on the post so as to better the odds of them seeing it.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
“Who are the moderators?”
Currently, there is only one operating the blog: Moderator Bull.
“Am I allowed to know your roleplay/personal blogs?”
Unfortunately, no. To preserve our own anonymity (for many of the same reasons as the submitters), we have agreed on the terms to never give out our URLs if requested. If we are interested in your blog, then we will follow you at our own discretion!
“Will you remove a submission for me?”
That depends on the type of submission, what it is about, and what your reasoning for wanting it removed is. The whole point of anonymity is that nothing gets tied back to you. The only cases where we will greatly consider removing a submission is if it’s involving a shoutout about you and you don’t want to be affiliated with us.
“Will you remove my comments on a submission?”
Of course! However, we will not remove any corresponding responses to you (except in instances where, if yours is removed, the next comment is made to look like it’s being directed to the person prior to your comment. We don’t want to cause unnecessary conflict.) We will also not be relied upon to keep deleting comments you regret leaving behind. If you’re wanting to leave a public response on submissions, then you must be prepared to have others possibly publicly disagree with you.
“Can I ask you for roleplay advice?”
Go right ahead! But we can’t promise the best or most insightful of answers, or that we’ll get to them relatively soon! Chances are, we will post your questions anonymously so that others in the community can help.
“Why did you follow my blog?”
To make our existence known to you and, if you like us, hoping that you will send in a submission of your own or tell your roleplay partners about us!
“How did you find my blog?”
Most likely through the Recommended sidebar feature, a mutual, or just the good ol’ search function.
“Could you unfollow me?”
If you don’t want to be associated with us, then we recommend blocking the blog so that we don’t unintentionally follow you again!
“Hey, could you do something about the people leaving rude, mean responses on the submissions?”
Unless they are throwing bigoted slurs, threats, or suicide-baiting remarks at the anonymous submitter, they are not doing anything wrong. They have just as much right to disagree with your submission as you had when you sent it to us. We are, first and foremost, a place to vent frustrations or hurts behind the safety of anonymity, and we are also a free-speech blog. We are of the belief that discussions, no matter how heated, is healthy and brings the community together as a whole. Just as your submission may provide someone else with the awareness that they are not alone in similar frustrations, someone disagreeing with your submission may provide a new perspective to you and others that had not been considered before.
“How does name-calling and swearing and being mean add to a discussion? You and your blog are what are wrong with the roleplaying community!”
Just because someone isn’t being nice to you as they give their side of the argument, doesn’t mean that it cancels out their actual argument. You’re choosing to be offended and distracted by how abrasive they are, and that’s no one’s problem to deal with but your own. You have the ability to block anyone so that you no longer have to see their comments on future submissions. Why would we police what people say, the endgame of which would be to ban them from ever reblogging or commenting on submissions again if they don’t listen to us, if you’re not even willing to try solving the problem first by just blocking them? Wanting to have the last word or being upset that your submission didn’t receive the feedback you wanted is not a reason for us to step in and step on someone else’s right to speak, rudely or otherwise. If you’re not going to block them, then why should we?
“Could you not post submissions on sensitive topics like noncon, incest, and pedophilia?”
We have started tagging posts that we believe might be sensitive and controversial in nature with the tag “#twcontroversy”. We recommend blacklisting this tag. If that is still not enough, then we recommend unfollowing/blocking us. These are topics just as relevant in the roleplaying community as anything else.
“Could you promote me?”
Certainly! But only if you are another community-involved blog (a blog that provides a ‘service’ to the community, such as advice, roleplay help, a place for confessions, etc.), and it must be relevant to the roleplaying community to some degree! If you want to promote a roleplay blog, then we suggest sending in a shoutout submission!
“I sent a confession in weeks ago. Where is it? How long will it take for it to get posted?”
It’s either sitting in the queue or sitting in our drafts, waiting to be queued. We have 1,200+ followers so far, and on average we’re sent 15+ submissions a night. We only post between 5 to 8 submissions at night. Your submission is on a wait list. That’s all we can tell you.
“Why don’t you just close your submission box until all the current confessions are posted?”
Because we’re a vent blog first and foremost. If we close our ask/submission boxes, then we’re no longer an option for people who might desperately need to vent or talk about something that could have happened to them that day but have no other options. We want to be a healthy alternative to just bottling it up or possibly lashing out at the wrong people.
“I don’t believe you! I think you deleted my submission because one of you didn’t like it! You’re not unbiased at all!”
We’ve posted submissions about highly controversial roleplay topics like noncon, racism, transphobia, and pedophilia. We reassure you that your salt submission about OCs, theme trends, blog selectivity, etc. is not on that same level, least of all to the point that one of us would delete it. The only submissions that we have deleted, so far, are the ones that have included racial and homophobic slurs.
“[insert OP/commenter] is obviously a rapist/pedophilie!”
If we find that you have accused someone of being a rapist, pedophile, or apologist of either because of their defensive views on noncon/pedophilic ships or roleplay, your comment will be removed and you will be blocked. These are serious accusations that you shouldn’t be throwing at people over fictional content and we refuse to to let you use this blog as a platform to spew such slanderous accusations.

Under the eye of an institution
Part 10 (we have come a long way..)
Summary: Logan and Patton (both 16), as older students, are expected to look after two groups of freshmen in Watersouth boarding school for boys. Both of them despise the tradition of bullying that is subjected to the newcomers by older students in their school. The two respectively get a student in their groups who is a little different from the ordinary crowd: Roman and Virgil (both 15).
Author’s note: Hey, I’m back! Special thanks for those who pre-read this chapter and commented on it, you really helped me finish this chapter! There’s going to be some new conflict between our students, but don’t stress about it... or should you?
Triggers: General bullying, abuse and violence, violent punishments, panic attacks, self-deprecation, name-calling, i n s t i t u t i o n
Other parts here
...
“So, what did Simons exactly do to you?” Logan questioned, shifting his legs as he stood before the two younger boys. His emotions rarely affected his body language, but now he kept pacing around and fixing his glasses, which already were perfectly standing on the bridge of his nose. And he wasn’t the only one, whose nervousness was noticeable.
“Don’t ask me, sir,” Roman squeaked, taking a step back that he was almost hiding behind Daniel. “I wasn’t telling you anything. He was,” Roman pointed at his friend.
Daniel sighed. “He’s afraid because Simons made him swear he won’t tell this to you, sir.”
Logan nodded. “I see. So I have to pose as if I never heard any of this? Makes things more complicated to a degree, but I’m sure I can handle it. Roman, I assure you no soul excluding the three of us will find out if you disclose that information to me.”
Roman let out a breath. “Um, he told me how much he hates me and how disgusting I am, then took a grip of my hair and flipped me around in the air.” The poor boy lifted his hand to his curls, gently brushing them to not hurt his sore scalp.
“I see.” Logan frowned, trying to remain calm. “And what for did he punish you like that?”
“For, because I was the goalie and I missed so many times and then we lost, and he was in my team,” Roman rambled, looking at the ground.
“What kind of atrocity!” Logan was shocked. “That has nothing to do with the school rules whatsoever!” The older student straightened his collar in a frustrated movement. “Did any other person in the losing team receive similar treatment?”
“No, sir,” Daniel answered, being the one who had been able to observe the situation better. “After being done with Roman, Mr. Simons walked back to the field and seemed to have no intentions to punish anyone else.”
Logan leaned his hand on his desk, trying to regain control over his feelings. Why was he suddenly so taken aback by a punishment fairly common in this terrible school? Well, at least common for the tutors that were the most violent. He sat back on his seat, where he had been interrupted from doing his homework a few moments ago. “Please, take a seat both of you, I need a moment to contemplate this,” the older student advised, gesturing the boys towards his neatly made bed.
Daniel and Roman sat down, the former still protectively holding the latter. Roman didn't mind that, leaning his head on Daniel's shoulder while waiting for Logan to figure something out. It was nice to have one good friend, at least. They had known each other for barely two weeks but it felt like a much longer time.
….
Virgil sat in the second most comfortable sofa of the library, reading a collection of short novels while listening to a relaxing playlist. He had finished his homework already, and tried to focus on the story instead of the welling homesickness inside him. Oh, how he missed his brother. Why did he have to be exactly three years older than Virgil, so that he just had finished this school when Virgil came in? Emile was in university now, studying his beloved psychology. He had been the one to support Virgil when he had felt his worst, and helped him to get the therapist he had urgently needed.
The young boy sighed, putting his book away. Emile was the person he loved most in this whole world. He also was the only person excluding his parents who he was comfortable getting a hug from. Virgil felt the tears coming, but there was nobody watching so he let them fall.
Because there definitely were people who cared for him and who he deeply loved, but why did they have to be so far away?
Logan almost felt steam coming out of his ears as he wrote notes about which teacher would be the most likely to actually take action in making sure only the respective tutors took care of their students. That was part of the school rules, but in reality nobody really made sure it was practiced accordingly. Once again, the teachers didn’t really care as long as it caused no interruption to their classes.
List of teachers
Mr. Brass- would only encourage more punishments
Mr. Wilson- would scold the culprit for a minute, but not make big enough deal about it
Mr. Houston- is always too tired to care
Mr. Higgins- has little authority
Mr. Atkinson- very lawful, might actually be irritated about Simons not following the rule
The list went on, but no better choice was presented than Mr. Atkinson. Logan sighed quietly, remembering Roman and Daniel were still sitting on his bed, chatting quietly to each other.
“Boys, you can go continue your afternoon. It will take me a moment to figure this problem out in its entirety, and in the meanwhile I would instruct you to stay away from Simons.” Logan scratched the back of his neck. “I know it’s not solving anything, just a temporary solution until we get him actually responsible of his actions. I hope you a relaxing rest of the day.”
Daniel and Roman glanced at each other, then getting up and walking to the door. “Thanks, Mr. Andrews,” Daniel nodded his head as they got out of the room.
“You’re welcome, boys.”
...
The next morning began with chemistry classes for both Roman and Virgil. The latter waited further away in the hall until the others had entered the class. That way, he hoped, Roman would not see him and therefore forget to insult him. He still had to think which would be more effective way to get past it when leaving, though; leaving earliest or latest. He could think about it during the class.
“Alright, boys,” Mr. Houston called their attention. “I’m giving you a group project that will be presented next week-” He shot a frustrated glance at Roman, who had cheered in a hushed voice, “and I’m assigning the groups.” Mr. Houston payed no attention to Roman’s groan, but became naming the boys who had been paired together.
“George and Matts, Isaac and Daniel, Roman and Virgil...”
Virgil crushed the piece of paper he had been holding in his hand. This was so unfair. And Mr. Houston wouldn’t bat an ear to any compliments about the pairings because “You have to learn to work with all kinds of people for your future” He ignored Roman, who moved his desk next to his and greeted excitedly.
What an idiot.
Roman kept trying to get Virgil’s attention, talking to him or sometimes poking his side. At first he tried to be nice and work with the quiet boy, but as his partner kept turning his back on him and not answering on how they should start the work, Roman began annoying him more and more.
“I thought you stuttered, and wasn’t mute, stupid,”
poke to the side
Roman whispered to Virgil’s ear, leaning way closer than Virgil preferred. “Or did you go deaf, too? We gotta do this project!”
Virgil moved slightly further away, continuing to look at the textbook page but not being able to concentrate. He hated Roman So. Much.
Roman stretched over to smear the face Virgil was looking at on the book with his pen. He grinned victoriously, as Virgil finally turned to look at him.
“L-l-l-eave m-me al-a-al-alone!”
Roman tilted his head, still grinning maliciously. “O-o-oh? S-s-so no-no-now you can s-sp-s-s-pe-spe-speak?”
Virgil striked Roman on his face, and Roman’s chair crashed loudly on the floor as he fell down more out of surprise than the power of the punch. “Ow!!” In a second, he lunged on Virgil, who had stood up and almost managed to dodge the other boy, sending them both tumbling on the floor, where they continued fighting. Mr. Houston shouted at them, and when it didn’t seem to cause any kind of reaction, he had to separate them by force and held them up by their collars.
“WHAT was that?”
The teacher shouted in such a volume, that Virgil held his ears. Mr. Houston began dragging the boys to the door, handling them roughly. He muttered something along the lines of “Hasn’t happened in three years” And quickly instructed the rest of the class to continue working and better behave while he was gone.
Mr. Wilson, having been teaching the older group Linear Algebra, opened the classroom door after hearing the angry knocks. He looked confused for a second, finding his workmate holding two yonger students apart by their collars, but stepped to the side to let him look inside. Teacher Higgins stepped one foot in the class, looking around with annoyance, as if he had been the one getting in trouble.
“Logan Andrews, Patton Sawyer! Your students started a fight in my class and interrupted it greatly. I reckon you two do something about this, I need to get back to my work.”
Logan and Patton glanced at each other, and quickly collected their things to get outside. Mr. Wilson gave them the rest of the exercises to complete later, and now they were faced with two pouting students in the hall.
“Virgil?”
Patton looked so betrayed, that Virgil finally felt the guilt stinging in his chest. But it didn’t stop him from glaring at Roman with all the hate he could possibly gather.
Logan frowned at the two. “Roman, why did you hit Virgil?”
“Oh!!!???? I hit the poor Virgil?? He started it!” Roman screamed, pointing at the boy. There was about 3 feet between them, and Virgil didn’t bother to look up.
“Did you, Virgil?” Patton stepped closer, but Virgil stayed silent. He wouldn’t say a word when the Idiot was present, because he refused to be mocked again.
Patton sighed, taking a step back. “Alright, boys. I think we need to find a place to sit down and talk this through. I don’t want anybody getting in any more trouble, and it’s not cool to hate others for long.”
“I agree,” Logan nodded, and they began walking to get downstairs.
“It’S nOT cOoL To HatE OtHeRs” Virgil mimicked to himself behind the tutor’s backs. He didn’t remember a time when he had been this angry towards everybody around him, but in all honesty, it made him feel powerful in a situation where in reality he had little to no control.
Roman sticked his tongue out at Virgil as they walked behind their tutors, and Virgil tried to slap him but the boy dodged it, so Virgil kicked him, to which Roman cried out loudly. That guy is way too good in making all of this look like my fault, the boy thought to himself, as Patton turned to scold his student. He really had to do the rest of this carefully and not fall in Roman’s traps like he just had.
There’s only one thing good about all of this, Virgil thought. It all goes just like my worst, anxiety-filled thoughts had assumed, so I feel like I’ve at least seen this coming.

ABB3 and I were talking about this earlier, you see I've recently got into the fate fandom and I was wondering if you had any belly canons for any of the guys, specifically Gilgamesh and Fate stay night's Lancer? Or any other guys you like from the series~ (Ive only seen fate zero and fate stay night so far btw.) ^_^
Oh hey good on ya! I'm still a woeful casual when it comes to the series, but it's provided some real nice guys to fawn over~ But alright lemme see what I can do...
G/ilgamesh
Well the fun thing about G/ilgamesh is that his monumentally enormous ego is matched only by his looks... and hopefully his appetite. Cuz I mean, damn, boy knows how to dress to impress.
Tumblr media
The thing is though that his taste is incredibly high class, so he'll only be dining on 5-star dishes. He's been around modern society enough to know how to get what he likes, after all. The thing is though that he would be so caught up in holding this fact over others heads that he would neglect to take note of just how much he may be eating. Like, I don't see him as the sort to actively flaunt stuffing himself taut. He may even be secretly embarrassed by it, but damn if he won't play it off as something along the lines of course he's privileged to such gorging. Anything like greasy fast food he wouldn't allow to slip past his lips UNLESS his ability to even do so was being questioned. His weakness is having his ego struck in any way, after all. Then he would certainly have to silence the mongrels' barking and prove himself... probably leading to a very full, very upset stomach having so much garbage filling his belly. At that point he might require some belly rubs - something he would order someone he deems capable of providing to do. Perhaps threatening that if they aren't up to task, they may find themself added to the rest of the trash.
Whiiich leads into the headcanons for vore HAHAH// The King of Heroes lords over all, and sometimes he needs to assert his superiority in less conventional, but no less absolute ways. I don't think he would be too actively yearning to eat anyone, since his body is perfection that he doesn't want anyone ruining. It might be once his (admittedly thin) patience is tested in a certain manner (maybe someone questioned his appetite a little too hard?) that he will give them the privilege of being shown just what he can do. Most anyone he eats he would be dismissive of after; they're food now, they should settle down, and don't they dare give him indigestion, or he can make this even harder on them. And again, this is probably something he prefers to keep private. Although if any company shows up, I feel like Gil wouldn't be doing much to hide his large, squirming belly - like, full on sitting back, just idly stroking over the mega bloat, half-attempting to stifle burps or hiccups, mostly just quietly annoyed. Regardless of how awkward that might make the other feel. Nonfatal situations I think require for G/ilgamesh to at least feel a little respect for who he's gulped down? Which is no easy feat of course, so... he would definitely be the "one way trip" sort of pred the vast majority of the time. But even if that requirement is met, it wouldn't necessarily deter him from carrying on his day as he otherwise would, which includes eating and drinking what he pleases, and giving his belly a firm smack if his stomach's occupant protests. Basically, his wants and needs always take priority.
O/zymandias
Okay and because it would be a good follow-up, another who my friends like would be O/zymandias. Again, another drop dead gorgeous king~
Tumblr media
Unfortunately though, since they share such similar attitudes, a lot of headcanons for Gil apply to Ozy OTL  That includes the fine taste, being mostly spurred into eating past his comfort levels by having his pride put on the line, and the authoritative aura he carries even when he's aching with fullness. As a matter of fact it's often fun to imagine them being quite the pair when it comes to eating; they're likely to goad each other into eating more and more with neither willing to face the shame of having the weaker stomach. Thank goodness they get along so well... for them, anyway. Maybe not so much for the restaurant they visit, or the unfortunate people who may be included in their kingly feasting.
I think a good distinction to make Ozy stand out more is that he's not quite so much a jerk as Gil would be regarded as? He's got a monumental ego sure, but seems to be less likely to utterly disregard the personhood of others in the process. So it may take a little more to make him deem someone to be his next meal... maybe. Possibly. His body is a temple, he can't very well be making this a habit, after all. Consequently I also think he would be a bit more likely to indulge in nonfatal scenarios, too. And with the mighty pharaoh he would make a little more effort in being a proper host. Oh, and since there was a funny bit a dialogue in the game where he staunchly denied being decapitated in the most huffy, tsundere way, I think that would apply to him having a ridiculously filled gut as well. "There's nothing wrong with my stomach... *grrrgghh...*"
A/sterios
Tumblr media
Another one that friends have a big liking to so of course I'll jump on that too! What we got here is a colossal 9'9" tall berserker bull man, THE Minotaur of legend himself. The fun thing about him is that, as the myth tells, he's canonically eaten people - and plenty of them, too. He's got a great deal of dialogue alluding to how easily he could put even you on the menu as well. So, while he might have some difficulty speaking... his stomach can do the talking for him. Like, he already struggles to control his beastly urges, so who could blame him if he slipped up, caught someone in his inescapable clutches, and ate them? Or even two? He's almost twice as large as normal humans; it would be far less difficult for him to gorge on more than one. Consuming others would be treated as something that just comes natural to A/sterios, like a hunger that was finally quenched.
On the stuffing end (sorry for the reverse order, he's just far more likely to enjoy meat on the very rare side) the bull would require a lot to satisfy him. He's used to eating whole, poor people who were dumped into his labyrinth, after all. And again, this absolute unit is BIG. Not to mention being treated to food beyond "human" would probably be a novel experience for him. He's been in the labyrinth all his life, he has the whole world to see and experience! Poor A/sterios would probably be overwhelmed and adorably yearning to try everything. Very open to being fed, and having his belly rubbed, too! Just, again, both of these things are gonna take a while, given his size.
A/chilles
Tumblr media
Husband material that captured my heart big time when I finally got around to watching A/pocryphaaa// He's got a similar vibe to C/u C/hulainn with his lax attitude and enjoyment in fighting. The differences between them though help to separate my headcanons just a bit. Like, whereas Cu's more laid-back the majority of the time, A/chilles has more of an intensity to him. He's more excited by a challenge for one, and that can play easily into some fun headcanons. Like, any meal he sits down for will be filling him up, but afterwards if he sees there's an eating contest going down, he'd still be going "Yeah I bet I could win, piece of cake *urp* Maybe poor choice of words..." And then claim that filling his stomach up beforehand was just to give everyone else a fighting chance. And he will win, it'll just... be something of a pyrrhic victory. One that he'll still try to take pride in sure, but not without a lot of groaning and claiming that he must weigh twice as heavy now. And as wont as the Greek hero would be to lie back and let everything digest, he's just as quickly to pull himself back up and heft around the gurgling gorge, since he hates to be bored or to seem pathetic. After all, while his ego might not be anywhere near the mountainous scale Gil's is, he still has a hefty arrogance to him that can be used to push him (and his belly) further. Though unlike the king and pharaoh, I think A/chilles would genuinely be unabashed in his bloated state, let alone the thunderous belches that might come about - just sighing with relief after and giving his stomach a pat. Even when receiving some welcomed belly rubs, don’t be offended if you get caught in the blast radius HAHAH
Regarding vore, I think A/chilles would very much have the mindset of "eating someone means claiming total victory." And it would probably be something he revels in just as much as any victory, roughly massaging his stomach, trying to clench his stretched thin abs, etc. What makes A/chilles unique is that, as said, he likes a challenge. That means that while he's groaning for his prey to settle down, he's also outright encouraging them to fight against his stomach, which might not phase him quite as much as it would others since, y'know, invincible body and all. If they're especially feisty, to the point it's making the brash hero gag, heave, have to swallow down lumps rising back up his throat, well then that struggle just makes this all the better. Heck, if they're not up to that point he may even waddle himself over to eat more, just to get himself to that point of barely keeping it together. Even in nonfatal situations, the Rider would undoubtedly enjoy making his carry-on squirm - probably utilizing effective teasing to get them riled up, like hiccuping and asking just how much they weigh, or downing a full gallon of drink to drench them, burping, and saying lugging them in his stomach is thirsty work. Much more inclined to some rough play than the blue Lancer would be, methinks. That includes all the belly play of jostling, prodding, 'accidentally' lying on his stomach a bit, all that goodness~
(I left C/u C/hulainn out because I remembered I already did a big post about him here, among other posts, so enjoy that if you’d like!)

Dames Done Wrong: Maya Lin
Tumblr media
In the predominantly European dudeified world of architecture, Maya Lin always knew that she would stand out. "Technically, legally, I'm not licensed, so I'm a designer," she says carefully, but almost all of her work relates to the earth and structural productions, especially her most famous work, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. If it walks like a duck, it might as well be a duck, and Maya Lin is architect enough for millions of people.
Vietnam Veterans Memorial by Maya Lin, in the National Mall, Washington, D.C.
For reasons that I don't need to explain, war is such a touchy subject that almost anything you do, as an artist, is "too soon," and Lin's most famous Greatest Hit is no exception whatsoever. It made former Presidential candidate Ross Perot so angry, for example, that he called her an "egg roll."
So why the kerfluffle over this masterpiece? First of all, Lin maintains, she never would have been selected from a list of 1,421 applications for the Memorial if they had known that she is a woman of Chinese descent, because apparently racism toward Asian people, in the minds of many people, was part of honoring our fallen men and women in uniform. Lin would say that these kinds of bizarre reactions were a symptom of our inability, as a people and a country, to face the reality of the pain and tragedy that war causes.
A real heckuva researcher, Lin was influenced by experiences in her youth and adolescence with the Hopewell and Adena burial mounds, near her hometown in the place that we now call Ohio. Archeologists tell lots of stories about the people who built these mounds, but there are so many unknowns that it kinda takes an artist to make sense of them. The Hopewell mounds date from the first century, and the Adena mounds are several hundred years older, and both seem to suggest that the practice of pyramid and earthwork building, as a ceremonial way of mourning and artistic practice, was not at all unique to the Egyptians or Mayans.
When she composed the Veterans Memorial, Lin says, "I basically didn't even realize I was Chinese." Growing up with academic parents and friends of European descent, Lin had no idea that anyone would ever express prejudice against her, she adds. She never expected that plain ol' green envy would take the form of bigotry. Art was art, smarts was smarts, and that was the hermetic, almost sacred mindset in which she developed as an architect and an artist. In some ways, her naïvete, as she describes it, was a sort of advantage, because it allowed her to think about things like form, transcendence, and materials without having to prepare herself for the political storm waiting like a tornado on the other side of success. Her grandfather had some enormously famous, like national hero famous, cousins, named Lin Juemin and Lin Yin Ming, who were among the seventy-two revolutionary martyrs of the Second Guangzhou Uprising, and her parents kept her in the loop, but it didn't seem connected to cushy suburban life in the U.S.
When critics said things like, "there's so much Zen in your work," she'd say, "you're reading into it too much," but when she got a little older and had children, she realized that it was important to "go back and understand the cultural underpinnings of what makes you." She had already been investigating the cultural underpinnings of the U.S., and the Hopewell and Adena mounds, in a brilliant way, influenced her decision to make the Veterans Memorial an earthwork, not just a proud, jutting tower showing valiant warriors and flags flapping in a David-inspired way. In this way, Lin is agreeing with Warhol's saying that land is the most beautiful thing you can own, slipping the V-shaped black granite form of 58,000 names, organized chronologically, into the earth, creating an unresolved tension between the artistic voices of the earth and the human, like the unresolved tension between indigenous peoples, many of whom give their lives in U.S. wars, and millions of immigrants. Another function of making the memorial an earthwork is, she says, to encourage people to cry, to look downwards in mourning, to find a collective catharsis to commemorate such unthinkable losses.
Tumblr media
Maybe the thing that makes people upset about Lin, and gives her the mantle of a Dame Done Wrong, is her incisive way of displaying her insights in both her work and her writing, which comes out in her interviews. Aware of the constant contradictions and tensions of life, Lin says, "My work is heavily researched, but then you have to kill off that side of you to find the poetry within the thought." In a similar way, we can draw a causal connection of sorts between Lin's heritage, her childhood, the indigenous mounds, and so on, but she cuts us off at the pass by naming exactly what makes art so special: "I do not think you can find a reason for everything you make." There's a certain miraculous and unknowable quality to life which Lin names and sanctifies in her work.
Eleven Minute Line, Wanas Castle, Knislinge, Sweden
Lin has spent her entire career talking about the Veterans Memorial, so we owe it to her to give some love to her more recent work, such as Eleven Minute Line. Twelve feet high and 1600 feet long, this earthwork makes its home in a cow pasture in Sweden, and, once again, takes its cue from indigenous people, who we speculatively call the Fort Ancient people, almost a thousand years ago. These people made the Serpent Mound, which is such a striking, singular work, that when European settlers first saw it, they convinced themselves that somehow, other Europeans must have traveled there, certainly by jetpack or Star Trek teleportation, constructed the work, and gone back home, all without leaving any record of their Europeanness. This totally likely story forms part of the basis of Lin's discussion of Eleven Minute Line: the settlers imagined that the Serpent Mound was European, because it is sophisticated, so Lin did them a favor by putting a similar earthwork down across the pond. You're welcome, Sweden.
Tumblr media
Ready for the waterworks? Put away your tissues—we're looking at Lin's trio of water-based earthworks, partly inspired by Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech, which features this excerpt from the Book of Amos: "We are not satisfied. We shall not be satisfied until justice—rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream." Twenty years after her first wavefield work, the emphasis on water is all the more prescient, in the wake of the hard-won legal decision in favor of the Standing Rock Sioux against the would-be builders of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The first book of Genesis talks about the Creator making the heavens and the earth, but not the waters. Why not? Apparently, it's a secret.
Wave Field, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, United States.
Like a mother bird feeding her chicks, Lin "regurgitates," in her words, science and mathematics into the earth, making an impression of our mathematical, Apollonian sensibilities on terra firma.
She uses the word "regurgitate" to introduce us to her process of making Storm King Wavefield, the third in the wavefield cycle, which uses nonlinear dynamics, a subfield of math, or maths, if you're British, to create fifteen to eighteen-foot high waves of earth and grass over the surface of an eleven-acre space.
Flutter, Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Courthouse, Miami, United States
Lin's works tap into the sacredness of water, our best friend who we have to keep a close eye on. Water can be quite turbulent, and it took centuries for people to develop mathematical algorithms capable of simulating water. Still, even today, the most accurate fluid simulations, in Pixar movies and video games, for example, are far from convincing, most of the time, resembling the thick surfaces of jello or the skin on a cup of boiled milk.
Storm King Wavefield, Storm King Art Center, New Windsor, United States
Lin's goal is not to simulate water, but to incorporate the Stokes wavefield equations, in which, for example, the flow velocity u can be described as the gradient of a velocity potential Φ, whatever that means. I'd love to know what that means, and that's the most basic introductory part of the Stokes theory, but it's very comforting to know that I don't need to understand it, and I can leave it to other people, geniuses like Lin.

◟ * ◊ ─ alex fitzalan + cismale + he/his » * hey did you know that konstantin dombrova resides in victoria?? the 24 year old is known for being around crystal lake. the artist has been living in victoria for 24 years. they aren’t sure that the bianchis are behind victoria’s murder. the people closest to them describe the bisexual cancer to be +kind and +honest as well as -reclusive and -moody » ◦ °
wassup i’m jared i’m 19 and i never fucking learned how to read!!! so here’s my boi kosta, if ya dig then smash the like etc. etc.
anxiety tw, drug addiction tw, depression tw
Sad Boi ™
kosta has always been more reserved and shy compared to his brother and father, who are so charming and captivating, and so he’s always struggled with the spotlight
in fact he found himself grateful for the large shadow cast by them so he could comfortably linger in the background
for a long time, kosta believed the bullshit his family fed to the public - the image of a perfect family
however with the facade comes an enormous amount of pressure. how could he fit in to the image of a perfect family when he wasn’t good at anything?
kosta was always so dependent on his family and leaning on whoever or whatever was closest to help him get by
no matter how hard he tried, his grades were average, absolutely no chance with sports, and he lacked the energy to get involved with any other extra curricular activity. he always lost touch with the few friends he had over summer and would start the year relatively alone again.
all of this was okay because he had his family but then the cracks began to show
kosta loves deeply and feels everything intensely so the absence of those he cherishes was painful for him. from bash’s rebellion to their parents falling out of love and eventually what felt like losing a father entirely. kosta could only do so much but, as always, when things got too much he took a step back
he left victoria to study art in new york city. whilst he usually had his family to depend on, he found other ways to get by without relying on other people. drugs were more reliable, made him feel better faster and there was so much of it. this resulted in kosta cutting ties with most people in his life
unfortunately, his addiction lead him to drop out of college and instead of facing the music back in victoria, he left to go travelling for as long as he could before being dragged back to victoria
he tried a few jobs here and there but they were draining his mental health. he’d sleep in or stare at the office building before turning back around. with every failure, he felt like such a big disappointment, he’d leave every few months or so just to come back to start in the same place all over again.
but this time kosta doesn’t want to keep running away from his problems. he hates disappointing people, especially his family. he’s decided to take things one step at a time. first, success. then, sobriety.
having returned a month ago, he’s got a small studio which he basically lives in. the only problem is he hasn’t been able to produce a single piece he’s happy with and most of the time he’s too high to do anything about it. the violence that fuels the city certainly doesn’t help with his anxiety either. his goal is to open his first exhibition, knowing it’d make his parents proud.
personality:
though his social anxiety can often be mistaken as rude or aloof, once you get to know kosta, he’s very warm, loving and a bit of a goof.
he feels every emotion super intensely and is v v v sensitive - fragile do not touch
he’s loyal...... but also not??? won’t fuck u over but will run from all his problems. hates confrontation. so may panic and lie to u.
he means well but he does often end up as a Bad Friend, and a Bad Bro, and an even Worst Son just because he can’t handle anything tbh and is scared! all the time!
tldr: when u try ur best but u don’t succeed...
wc’s:
childhood friends - they grew up together and understand each other completely. kosta may have ghosted them too at some point but they’ve always understood that he’d come back. he prefers their company more than his own solitude which means a lot!!
school friends - probably not that many? but definitely would be fun/angsty if they fell out of touch bc kosta is a dingus
exes - kosta has a tendency to run at the first problem so maybe he left them over the summer without a word? or maybe they worked through things but something happened? they could be encouraging the drug addiction or trying to help.
dealer - someone give him drugs pls
gang members - kosta is pretty oblivious and v gullible so if anyone wants to fuck around with this emo dumbo :))))
coffee buddy - they catch each other at the same cafe every day at similar times and they’re part of a routine kosta was welcomed into his life
art studio pals - ppl who art, ppl who like to hang out at the funky studio n get fucked basically

good fuckin yard my guys gals and non binary pals !! i’m admin c and this is my messy disaster gay problem child jooseok. below the cut you’re gonna find out a loT about his tragic ass and if you hit the like button if i haven’t already, i’ll hit you up for plotting !! i’ll give a few ideas of connections on the end of this too since i’m gonna update and redo his plot page sfngn bUT let it be known i also mun aurora, euchan and emrys so i may have also messaged you for plotting on one of those acc’s, if so don’t worry i will ensure to give you the chance to plot with all my babies !! without further ado:
jooseok is the son of a mob family, they’re very well established in the criminal world. his parents are yeong dami and yeong joohyuk. however it is dami who actually runs the game and is the head bitch in charge shall we say, not to bring feminist agenda joo to life but as u can imagine due to this he has hella respect for women esp his mother bc of the strength he observed in her growing up. he thinks women are stronger and better at survival bc of learning through his ma and being trained by her.
so he was raised of course in the family gang, raised in crime and never really knew any other way to live. when he reached seventeen he was initiated officially into the gang meaning his role became more full time and his responsibility became larger. he dropped out of college after his first two years there to accomodate for this and so his education wasn’t the finest but he was homeschooled for a long time before he got too old as the gang considered it and he no longer had time for it. plus he was of the belief he knew enough about how the world worked through the observation of the good and ugly alone.
he does have a younger sister who he considers his entire world and he also has a brother of around the same age as him. the family dynamic is a little complex, he’d kill without hesitation for both his siblings despite the fact that his brother and himself often don’t agree or see eye to eye on anything, they bicker and give each other shit but they’d never turn their backs on each other. these are wanted connections i will eventually put on the list so they can be filled out also.
he’s considered an infiltrator and a double agent as his main job titles for the gang so right now he works undercover in the police force helping the wrongly accused escape a life of jail time and prove their innocence when the justice system fails them. occasionally he’s put in charge of strategy too and he is very very respected within the gang for being the youngest and yet the most skilled who rose to his tasks very quickly for his age and became the best at what he does at an alarmingly quick rate, he’s actually pretty well known for having the reputation of being the youngest to climb the ranks and gain status like this.
he could actually have been the boss of the gang with the amount of tasks and dirty work he takes on
HOWEVER...
jooseok has a huge secret and this is that recently he’s started attending college again and taken on night classes to study law and learn more about the police force so he can become a genuine crime detective. he is also undertaking training for the police force.
the lifestyle and career of the police force has always been his dream and his goal but with his limited education it was never something he could achieve alongside his gang life. this is why he jumped at the chance to at least do something undercover with the police and despite playing dirty cop, use it to do something good, vigilante like if you will.
joo can’t keep his secret forever though, his gang are getting wind of what’s going on and soon he’s going to have to go into hiding. despite the gang being his family, hits will be issued on him until he is eliminated and killed. simply put he is considered a traitor the minute he gives up gang life, and he knows far too much to simply be allowed to walk free possibly giving away all their secrets and intel. because it is a family business there are severe consequences for him turning away from what is considered his duty and responsibility.
joo = big be gay, do crime type energy. he’s abrasive and amoral but he’s also nurturing and naturally smart and talented at everything he puts his passion into. he’s resourceful and crazy adaptable and he’s equal parts a protector as much as he is a fighter. he can be broody and blunt but he can also be witty and hilarious with his dark sense of humor and somewhat messed up mind and moral code. if you’re considered close to jooseok then he’ll kill half the population of daegu easy with his own hands with no worries so long as you’re safe.
he worked undercover in america for a year so he can speak english and went by the shortened name of jo over there but most people call him seok or ong in korea to shorten his name to a nickname. he’s fluent in his english, jooseok is well known for being a quick learner in every area if u know what i mean *side eyes*
can be a bit of a fuckboy but has a big heart deep down despite it all, just keeps it concealed because of past toxic relationships and the belief taught into him from early on that any attachment to anything you don’t owe it to, would only result in weakness and vulnerability. and you don’t want people to know you have weaknesses when you do what jooseok does. *coughs* for this reason he has had a lot of pining and unrequited love situations *coughs*
he’s not that close with his parents, he keeps a strictly professional relationship with them mostly but his mum is his idol for her mentality and attitude to life. though he wishes he could achieve more than what she allowed for him to be a part of. wishes he could be normal.
OTHER LIL HEADCANONS:
joo joined the gang officially at seventeen when the initiation process took place and this was the time he met hyunjin ( @phyunjinn ) also known as his best friend and right hand man. they quickly became partners in the gang for everything, if joo had business to deal with especially the dangerous kind then nate would be by his side, acting as his protection for anyone who dared cross him and likewise he would give the same back. think kinda like alec and jace i guess as a good example with the whole parabatai bond aspect. they fight the best when they’re fighting together, and if one of them died, a huge piece of the other would die with them.
at first joo actually refused to talk to nate cause he’s a lil shit and he didn’t get why it should be important but dami urged her son, pointing out they were of similar ages and being initiated at the same time and it was important to have someone he could talk to and rely on like that. so he sidled his way over eventually and pretty easily and nonplussed like made a best friend out of the other male. they grew to have a secret code of trust between them, joo learning sign language for the male to put him at ease and also ordering the rest of the gang did the same despite complaints he quickly shut that shit down arguing they needed to be able to communicate with nate in his way to ensure his safety faster if need ever be. ( but for him personally, he learnt because he wanted to be able to talk to nate in the way that comes most naturally to the male )
in college he’s considered a soft jock type, heart of gold but he’s very physically attractive and a bit of a heart throb and definitely considered sporty despite also being very musically driven.
PLOT IDEAS:
joo needs some college friends, musically talented people he can consider study buddies, he was actually almost an idol once when he nearly signed on with a company because of how musically talented he is as a producer and songwriter - typically he only writes for close friends and always ensures the lyrics feel truthful and genuine to his friend’s stories but yeah give me people he is encouraged by with that and just able to be himself with.
friends from america potentially as well
other criminal underground kinda connections bc u know keeps business thriving to link up with other famously dangerous people and work together.
i would so love a good cop,bad cop type thing where someone who he’s on the police force with or is also training to be in the police force with him is genuine and legit and knows he isn’t and is kinda like shunning tf outta him for it but also trying to teach him how to be better without even realizing it and sort of having their mind changed on how simple good and bad is bc actually there is kind of a grey area which joo belonged to.
ex’s of course
as much as i love friends who don’t know about joo’s other life, i’d also love some friends who did and were hella concerned bc like siren noises what is this boi doing he’s gonna get himself killed and does he even cAre bc he fuckin should
roomies plssss
enemies and rivals are always welcome too maybe ppl who dislike him for turning away from the crime life and going straight or whatever rlly i also rlly like the idea of someone who sort of admired him and has a personal grudge bc he was so good at being a criminal and he made such a legacy and then he just abandoned it and they feel he wasted it or something

via Politics – FiveThirtyEight
Former Maricopa County sheriff Joe Arpaio recently announced his bid for the Arizona Senate seat being vacated by Republican Jeff Flake. To say that Arpaio is a controversial figure is putting it mildly: He was sued by the Department of Justice for violating Latinos’ civil rights and found in contempt of court for illegally detaining unauthorized immigrants, among other things. And Arpaio isn’t the only staunchly anti-immigration politician in Arizona.
The state is also home to SB 1070, a law that requires law-enforcement agents to check the immigration status of anyone they stop who they suspect of being in the country without documentation.1 Arizona’s turn against unauthorized immigration provoked a series of protests and inspired the bilingual song “Todos Somos Arizona” (“We Are All Arizona”).
Given that context, you might expect immigrants to view Arizona as among the places where they’d be most likely to experience discrimination. But they don’t. For the years before 2010, there was surprisingly little variation in immigrants’ perceptions of discrimination across states. And to the extent that states do vary, immigrants in Arizona reported relatively low levels of discrimination.
Even more recently, there is not much evidence that Latinos, both immigrant and native-born, see much difference in levels of discrimination across states. In that respect, immigrants may be similar to their native-born neighbors: They may react more to events on the national stage — say, the fight over the future of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy — than to what’s happening closer to home.
With a team of political scientists and social psychologists — Jonathan Mummolo, Victoria Esses, Cheryl Kaiser, Monica McDermott and Helen Marrow — I investigated how immigrants’ perceptions of discrimination vary across states and localities in a 2016 article in Politics, Groups and Identities.2 We expected that immigrants’ perceptions of discrimination would vary significantly depending on where those immigrants had settled.
There was good reason for that expectation. In recent decades, immigrants have increasingly settled in states that have not been immigrant destinations for generations — like North Carolina, Arkansas and Alabama — often initially drawn by jobs in meatpacking, construction and other industries. What’s more, immigrants to different parts of the country face very different receptions from state and local governments, especially if they are unauthorized.
Some states and localities have laws like SB 1070, which seek to deport undocumented immigrants where possible or encourage them to leave. Others take the opposite approach, from sanctuary cities that limit their cooperation with federal immigration authorities to jurisdictions that provide in-state tuition or identification cards regardless of documentation. Those differences in policy mirror very real differences in native-born attitudes on immigration across communities.
To test whether immigrants themselves report variation in discrimination by location, we looked for surveys that had sizable numbers of first-generation immigrants (meaning people residing in the U.S. who were born elsewhere) and asked about perceptions of discrimination. I focus here on the results from the 2005-06 Latino National Survey.
Next, we calculated how many respondents reported different types of discrimination, such as from the police, at stores or while searching for housing or jobs. For Latino immigrants living in 7 states, the results are evident in the table below.3 The variation in perceived discrimination across states is fairly limited — and the states where immigrants report the highest levels of discrimination are not the places making news for anti-immigrant policies.
Latino immigrants’ reports of discrimination in 2005-06

Source: Latino National Survey
First off, reports of any one type of discrimination are relatively low, with those in the workplace typically the highest. No more than 8 percent of respondents report experiencing discrimination in housing, and no more than 16 percent report discrimination in stores and restaurants. That said, as other scholars have reported, respondents are more likely to perceive discrimination against their group than against themselves. That is, members of minority groups are more likely to report that their group faces discrimination than that they personally face discrimination.
But it is also striking that the places where reports of discrimination are the highest are mostly more traditional immigrant destinations like California, New Jersey and Illinois rather than places with restrictive policies regarding immigration. In fact, respondents in Arizona tend to report lower levels of perceived discrimination than those most other states.
A single state can be home to quite different communities. Within New York state, it is plausible that immigrants might face very different welcomes in a Long Island suburb like Farmingville than in a heavily immigrant neighborhood in Queens. But when we look at differences across U.S. counties, we find much the same pattern. Put simply, there is surprisingly little systematic variation in perceived discrimination across places. That is true not only for Latino immigrants, but for Asian-American and Muslim immigrants, too. Where first-generation immigrants live has little to do with how much discrimination they are likely to report.4
Of course, those results are based on data from over 10 years ago, and America’s immigration climate has changed dramatically from the days when Republican President George W. Bush was pursuing comprehensive immigration reform. And there is always the prospect that immigrants might not recognize an action as discrimination or feel comfortable reporting it in a survey.
But teaming up with Cheryl Kaiser and Efrén Pérez, I was able to ask similar questions about perceptions of discrimination of a sample of 820 Latinos interviewed in English or Spanish in the spring of 2016. This survey came after SB 1070, and after the emergence of Donald Trump and his repeated attacks on immigrants. It also asked slightly different questions, as it inquired about how frequently respondents perceived discrimination rather than simply asking whether they had ever encountered discrimination.
The sample size here is dramatically smaller, a fact that constrains me to reporting the results for Latinos generally rather than just Latinos who are foreign-born.5 That’s a critical difference. Still, the evidence in the second table does reinforce the analyses above, as it shows relatively minor state-level variation. In fact, another analysis clarifies that across the states with more than 20 survey respondents, only Latinos in Florida are markedly different in their perceptions of discrimination — those in the Sunshine State are less likely to perceive discrimination than Latinos elsewhere.6
What was true of immigrants in the second half of the Bush administration appears to be true of Latinos during Trump’s campaign, too: knowing where people live doesn’t tell you much about the amount of discrimination they are likely to perceive.

What’s going on here? When an expected relationship fails to pan out, it’s hard to point to a single reason, just as it’s hard to give a single reason for why a dog doesn’t bark. But one possibility is that upon arrival, immigrants might define “discrimination” to mean quite different things.
What’s more, it’s often hard to know whether a given act was in fact discrimination: maybe the apartment really was rented, or the store clerk was rude to everyone. That’s part of what makes legal action against discrimination so difficult. Even when there is extensive evidence of discrimination against a group overall, it is difficult to show that discrimination was at the root of any one decision about who gets a job or apartment.
That might be part of the reason why we also find that immigrants who have been in the U.S. for longer report more discrimination overall, not less (though again, with little variation by location). Even though discrimination is sometimes targeted at immigrants because they are thought to be outsiders, acknowledging discrimination appears to be a byproduct of spending significant time in the U.S. and of thinking about discrimination in the same way as native-born Americans. It’s also possible that perceived discrimination is, like so much else in contemporary politics, more a reaction to national events conveyed through the news media. Immigrants may react in similar ways to hostile policies, whether those policies are in their home state or not.

PARA SAMPLE (tw: abuse)
Again.
The voice shook her like an aftershock, sending waves of fear through her body even without her father’s ability, the sensation of which she’d learned to recognize. “Please, I’ve been doing this for days. I need a break, please…” The simple shake of a head shattered any hope she had before the door was once again closed in her face, covering her in a blanket of darkness. She wouldn’t scream, she wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of knowing that she was afraid.
Despite her determination, all self-made promises were dismissed the moment, she felt her father’s ability snaking through the darkness. The fear hit her like a comically-falling anvil, without any of the well-meaning studio laughter. Shiloh began to scream and bang on the door until her voice gave out… In that moment, she ceased to fear the darkness. She felt at one with the tangible lack of light that surrounded her and began to harness the feeling. All at once, she felt everything fall silent even as her power took on a life of its own, destroying the prison disguised as a home in which she’d been held for the entirety of her life.
When she awoke, she was in the middle of the woods. Shiloh heard crickets, and the gentle rustling of the leaves around her. She could remember the time that her father had dropped her in the middle of the woods for hours until she’d found her way back, only to prove that she could survive even if only by the light of the moon. No longer did she feel alone in the dark, no longer did it feel like it was smothering her. Instead, she felt more at home than she’d ever felt in the concrete walls of the prison in which she was raised. There amidst the trees, she could do nothing but laugh. She was finally free.

Draven Wolfe, dubbed The Nightmare by local news and late night talk shows alike had never been “normal”. In fact, he’d been labeled misanthropic, sadistic, and even a monster. By any who had had the unfortunate displeasure of bearing witness to his many misdeeds. He prided himself in his ability to bring the city to its collective knees. He was larger than life until the day that he fell in love with a hostage. She was fearless. Despite his ability to induce and weaponize fear as a physical force, she was unphased, later revealing her power of a psychic shield. Draven was not accustomed to feeling anything for anyone other than himself, but the woman did not shiver at the site of him. She did not look at him like the monster that the society around him had encouraged and created.
A year passed and Draven was standing in the labor room of a private hospital, one of the only hospitals that would welcome the birth of “The Nightmare’s Child”. Only two hours after contractions started, things began to go south fast. The medical staff tried to force Draven out of the delivery room to no avail. They were able to save the child, but not the mother. In a burst of anger, Draven destroyed the entirety of the hospital before taking his daughter and disappearing again from mainstream society. He raised his daughter in isolation. He’d disappeared from the news and dedicated every moment of his time to raising his daughter. She had to be smarter, better, and more powerful than her mother. All of Draven’s focus was on shaping her rather than nurturing her.
As the only known offspring of an infamous villain, Shiloh’s expectations from society were unfortunate while her expectations of her father were infinite. As she got older and more independent at the age of 10, Draven began to venture back out into his work. The world cowered at the return of The Nighmare, but Shiloh only saw him as her father despite the fact that the man on the news every other night in the midst of another distasteful conquest could barely be called a father at all. However, due to her isolation, lack of peers, and lack of any other family, her situation seemed entirely normal to her for it was the only reality she’d ever known.
Finally reaching adolescence, Draven knew it was time to work on Shiloh’s powers. With the knowledge that high levels of stress could induce power manifestations, Draven began to use every trick in the book to trigger her powers.  Draven, frustrated with the wait, put Shiloh through a variety of sessions to break her, but she was sturdy and stubborn. Finally, Daven discovered her fear of the dark. It was so simple that Draven beat himself up for not seeing it sooner. With this new knowledge, he began to send her into the basement on a regular basis. She would cry, but he would only point back down the stairs and repeat again. Finally, giving up on letting the darkness alone pull the powers from her, he amplified the fear it caused using his own abilities.
Outside of the basement he could hear screaming until it finally stopped and darkness itself plummeted through the door, filling the house like dark ink. When the darkness cleaned, Shiloh was no where to be found. She had finally escaped him. She laid low for quite a while, but realized quickly that her powers were far from under control. Despite all that her father had put her through, she knew well that he was the only one who could truly help her learn how to control them. When she finally returned to her home, her father had been locked up in a maximum security prison for super villains.
With no place else to go Shiloh did what she could to get by on her own which increasingly began to include the use of her powers to obtain food or money in order to get by. This worked well for her until the day she was caught and offered  a second chance at Skybourne University where she hoped to learn control of her powers in an environment that was more stable and safe than anything she’d known before. Shiloh continues to struggle with her ability and is often afraid that the use of her powers will cause other’s to see her as they see her father.

Alysha King: Within the super community, there is a strong stigma connected to those students whose parents used their powers for evil rather than for saving kittens and assisting the elderly. Shiloh and Alysha have connected over their similar pasts and love of art.
Kristopher Maier: Kris has always treated Shlioh with kindness and she honestly feels like she can confide in him, though she may not always heed all of his advice.

There was a post in this sub earlier today that was basically saying that if you don't have the ability to Google answers to simple questions, that you probably don't have what it takes to make it as an entrepreneur. And for the most part, I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. However, the short reply I started to write about that quickly turned into a rant about another topic I've been pondering lately, and so I decided to give it its own post.Content Marketing is Ruining Our Ability To Learn OnlineMalcolm Gladwell is well-known for his reference of the 10,000 Hour Rule - the principle that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master a skill - but a few years ago I realised that there were a whole bunch of these 10,000 hour masters out there who'd written pretty detailed, yet distilled, advice on how to achieve mastery in their given art, and published it online. Sometimes even in the form of a "top 5" list, this knowledge was never more than a 20 second google search away, and literally gave you master-level insight. But then something happened. Other now-well-known authors started popping up telling people that they don't need to become a master in order to teach others, that with just a little bit of study and some self-confidence, you too can act as an authority on a topic. Thus, the "10 Hour Guru" was born, and Google quickly became flooded with top 5 tips from people who maybe weren't the most qualified to determine what those top 5 tips were. And I feel that this has been exacerbated in the last 18 months or so with the rise of content marketing, where everybody is writing quick little sharable pieces in the hope of catching attention, to the point where it's actually become really difficult to find quality learning material online. For example, if you were to go on Google right now and type in "how to launch a youtube channel" or similar topics ("Youtube tips", "Youtube strategy", etc.), you'll find pages like this:How to Start a Youtube Channel (Entrepreneur.com), which is literally a guide on how to follow the fucking setup steps for registering a Google account and creating a channel on Youtube. Super not helpful7 Ways to make your Youtube Channel Really Successful - which contains ever-helpful advice like "be positive" and "be unique and original"How to Launch And Grow a Youtube Channel in 14 days (Hootsuite). This one is actually slightly more helpful, and contains some links to topics you can read more on, but ultimately comes down to giving superficial advice like "post good videos" followed by "use Hootsuite" at the endAs well as a whole host of other people trying to sell you ebooks and online courses, or to sign you up to their e-mail drip marketing campaign (that will later try and sell you an ebook or online course)Can you imagine if recipes were shared online like that?A Content Marketer's Guide to Making an Apple PieStep 1: Have confidence in yourself - confidence is key to really nailing that apple pie!Step 2: Your pie must contain apples - An apple pie isn't an apple pie without apples (the Entrepreneur.com step)Step 3: Choose a crust that aligns with your ethos. Some people like butter, other people like to use shortening. There's no right answer, but we can't give you pros/cons or even an opinion!Step 4: Make sure the oven is the "right" temperature - too hot and you could burn your pie. Nobody likes burnt pie!Step 5: If you mess it up, you can always buy a pie! Walmart has a great range of pies that can ship to you in under an hour!PS: For more great tips on how to make pie, enter your e-mail address to get our free apple pie baking ebook!PPS: Don't forget to join our masterbaker piemaker course, 50% off if you subscribe in the next 22 seconds!Even the purportedly good content creators are creating very SEO-driven content, which means creating individually packaged pieces of content that answer frequently searched-for questions, but that don't actually give you a broader learning structure to put it all under. The example I would give here is Video Creators on YouTube, who actually seem to know their stuff, but damned if I can find a structure or starting place to any of it.What's more, this approach surely results in a ton of duplicated content (albeit repackaged slightly). Eg:How to Rank YouTube Videos for a Broader TopicThe Best Way to Rank Videos #1 in SearchThe #1 Best Thing You Can Do for your Video SEOThis playlist of 20 videos about SEO on YoutubeAnd as frustrating as I find it that they don't just have a single, comprehensive video about SEO on YouTube, I completely understand why they're doing it: Because that's how the game is won in 2017. The reason content marketing is what it is, is because people are rewarded for behaving this way... and essentially punished if they don't.Google rewards them by ranking their endless streams of content across their multitude of keywords. The numpties that upvote posts reward them. The people who fork over their e-mail addresses reward them (or worse yet, the people who pay for ebooks and courses reward them). This problem is systemic. So what's the solution?Honestly, I don't know that there is one - at least not one that I can see.I mean, these stand out to me:1. Encourage masters to create more content. The issue is that when they're at the peak of their game, they're out there doing, not teaching. This is why the 'teachers' in Entrepreneur Land are often criticized as making their money from teaching people how to make money. Not to mention that there's a bit of fear involved in "sharing the secret recipe", even though history will show us that having a perfect recipe and being able to bake a perfect pie are two completely different things).2. Discourage useless posts. Unfortunately, there are a shit ton of people who get super duper inspired when they read things like "be authentic" as a critical step in apple pie making. Heck, we see it in this sub all the time - people upvoting and writing how inspired they were when someone gives bad advice in useless posts in the sub - if we're lucky some people chip in with why that advice is bad and the author deletes their post. Even /u/garyvaynerchuk, who was previously well-known for freely giving in-depth strategic knowledge, has recently discussed that he's using motivational content as a gateway to access a larger fanbase.3. Better curation. I think this is one of the reasons that Product Hunt became so popular initially. It wasn't just a great way to see the latest apps/products being introduced to the market, it was also a curated list in the beginning, with a select number of people able to even submit projects in the first place. It's also why sites like Startup Stash have become so immensely popular. (Note that Startup Stash isn't just a list of the "top 5 apps" in multiple categories, it is an actual definitive list, according to /u/BRVM, of every app that will be useful to you in those categories.). Don't just subscribe to services that automatically populate your twitter/social feeds.4. Ask people who've done it before for advice. Welcome to the callback! Granted, I think the main reason that people post asking for advice on simple topics is that they are too lazy to take the time to research it themselves, but I also think it's sometimes hard to find a starting place. That's why I posted the other day in /r/newtubers looking for a good guide that breaks down youtube strategy.A Call To Action: Let's Create Better ContentIt's always good to end a post with a nice call to action, and I think at the end of the day what it really comes down to is that it is our responsibility as entrepreneurs to create better content, to help each other grow our businesses rather than trying to profit from each other all the time.If you're sitting out there, and you have knowledge of how to grow a pinterest account, how to grow a youtube account, a facebook account, how to copywrite, run a Kickstarter, etc., then create teachable content that goes beyond a sharable/rankable fluff piece, or even a single pillar article. Take a look at sites like how the landing page course used to be (before they threw an e-mail capture in front of it), and look at how you yourself can contribute to creating perennial, definitive content that others can learn from, that becomes the #1 piece of content anyone anywhere will recommend when people ask , "Does anyone know how to grow a youtube channel?".And I'm not excusing myself from this. I've already started to assemble the piece meal posts and comments I've made here for my experiments with @yahtzeedog and @fuddlemuckers and others into a single definitive guide to Instagram, and you can be sure I'll do it with YouTube once I figure that one out. If anyone wants to help build any of these, feel free to drop a comment/DM and let's get started. And the thing is... I think if we actually assemble this information, that it could potentially serve as the greatest content marketing of all. Thanks for listening to my rant :DPS: Here's my Grandma Ferguson's REAL Apple Pie Recipe. All the steps.

Jeremy Corbyn speech - Stepping up for Britain
Jeremy Corbyn speaking in east London today, said:
This morning I’m going to say a few words about you. And even some about me. But if you don’t mind, I’ll come to that later.
First I want to say that this general election more than any I have previously fought will define our times.
Last week, I said the dividing lines in this election could not be clearer.
I pointed to a clash of interests between working people on the one hand, and the privileged and super-rich on the other.
This is not about a government getting its priorities muddled. And it’s not simply a case of saying one thing and doing another.
It’s about presiding over a rigged system that shapes all our lives.
Of course that’s not something the Conservatives want to talk about. It’s why, I think, they’re so desperate to make this general election all about Brexit.
Don’t be taken in.
The Conservatives would much rather make incredible promises about Britain’s future outside the EU than talk about a scorecard of broken promises and neglect stretching back seven years.
Even their approach to Brexit betrays what they’re really about.
Unlike Labour’s jobs-first plan, it is both reckless and rigid. And entirely in keeping with their record in government.
Make no mistake; a Brexit for the few is being cooked up by this government.
One where any money saved is handed out as tax cuts to the super-rich and their corporations.
Where new trade deals with the US and elsewhere are used to drive down our working conditions, environmental regulations and food standards.
I think you can guess what is likely to happen to the many in a rigid and reckless Brexit. But what about the Conservatives themselves, and their friends and backers?
Do you think their personal prospects will suffer? Do you think their lives will get harder as wages slide and jobs become even less secure?
Unlikely, I think you’ll agree. And that’s because the Conservatives and their backers can afford to opt out when things go wrong. They’ve been doing it for decades.
They already send their children to the most exclusive schools and universities. They already dominate the upper rungs of every career ladder.
In truth, they have a get out of jail free card when the Conservatives are at the controls.
So I have a message for you all today: Unless you too have a get out jail free card, it’s time to Step Up.
And when I say Step Up, I mean register to vote. Claim your future.
You have till 22 May!
Over 2.4 million young people are missing from the UK’s electoral register. Barely 40 percent of 18 to 24-year olds turn out to vote.
The Conservatives are more than happy with this state of affairs. Apathy and resignation will secure them seats on election day.
I ask you to Step Up because when I talk to people all over the country, I’m struck by something troubling.
It’s not that our young people don’t have the energy and talent to succeed. Our country is full of potential.
But something hangs in the air. It typically goes unspoken.
It’s the unheard story of why so many of us are scaling back our hopes and dreams in favour of just getting by.
It’s the reason why this country is unable to unleash its potential.
Because as families, communities - entire regions – we are all being held back.
If you’re young – like many here today – it’s a familiar feeling:
If you feel trapped in a job that barely covers your rent.
If you feel anxious about keeping on top of credit cards and loans.
If your heart sinks each time you see the prices of homes displayed in estate agent windows.
Then you’re being held back.
In a Fairer Britain, government would be bending over backwards to unleash your potential.
You’re our future after all.
You’d be supported to be confident and equipped for higher paid and secure jobs.
You’d be able to look ahead without mounting debt taking away your choices.
And you’d be able to enjoy the security and rewards of one day bringing up a family in a home of your own.
Being held back means we can’t provide the life that we want for ourselves and those closest to us.
And it hurts. It makes people angry and worst of all resigned to the idea that nothing can be done about it. We end up blaming ourselves or each other.
This is life in Conservative Britain.
It’s why a Fairer Britain has to be the choice at this election.
It’s also why Labour will unveil plans to upgrade our economy.
Because unless we move from a rigged to an upgraded economy, there can be no Fairer Britain.
That is what June 8th is all about.
Don’t let the Conservatives hold you back.
Don’t let the Conservatives Hold Britain Back.
And now for a sentence I’ve yet to utter in my political life: Enough about you, what about me.
I’ve just laid down the gauntlet and asked you to Step Up.
Each and every one of us must Step Up for Britain. Including me.
In the 34-years since I became a MP, I have been attacked for what I believe in. But it has not changed my core values – and sadly many of the problems we faced then are still with us.
In 1983, I stood up in Parliament for the first time and used my maiden speech to condemn deeply damaging cuts in public services and the NHS.
It’s a tragedy that I could make a very similar speech today and it would once again hold true.
Between then and now I learned first-hand how the privilege of being an MP could help achieve change. Profound and lasting change.
At the time, young protesters were being shot dead on the streets by the racist apartheid regime in South Africa – Nelson Mandela and hundreds of ANC leaders were in prison.
The Conservative Government refused to impose sanctions, entertained the leaders of the regime and banned protests outside the South African embassy in London.
Being an MP helped bring attention to that ban and the wider cause of South Africa’s liberation - and got a group of us arrested.
But the space for people in Britain to organise in support of freedom in South Africa was defended and strengthened.
And I realised then that political leaders can, if they want to, create and preserve the space for others to organise and transform countries.
My role is different now but there is a common thread: we should act together, to overturn unfairness and create a better society.
It became my yardstick for measuring the performance of governments going back three decades, Labour and Conservative.
In that time, I’ve seen Prime Ministers and Leaders of the Opposition come and go.
But for all their achievements and failures, what I didn’t see was a sustained attempt to rid this country of what really holds people back.
I never heard a clear invitation for everyone in the country to work together and create a real alternative to our rigged economy.
So when I was asked to put my name forward in Labour’s 2015 leadership election, I felt I should step up.
I didn’t expect to win.
But under my leadership, we have forced the Conservatives into one U-turn after another: over cuts to tax credits, disability payments and their recent attempt to increase national insurance for the self-employed.
And I respect my critics when they make a reasoned case. They are doing what I have often tried to do – and that is to challenge leadership.
It reminds me of the 1990s when the political mainstream bought into Conservative ideas about markets, finance and the economy. It ultimately left us with no defence against a global financial crisis that had its roots in another country’s housing market.
Again, it taught me that if leaders go unchallenged, they can make some of the most damaging mistakes. And if party leaders put themselves ahead of serving the people, they stop listening and even put our country at risk.
Barely nine months into Theresa May’s premiership, there are clear warning signs that she and her closest advisers are slipping into that presidential bunker mentality.
Whereas it is the job of leadership to hold open the space for dissent, new thinking and fit-for-purpose policy.
So while it might not be the stuff of soundbites, I have always believed in standing firm and empowering others to make up their minds and come on board when they are ready.
It is the mind-set that gets community centres and nurseries built. And increasingly defends them from closure.
It is the mind-set that negotiates hard for better conditions in the workplace.
It is the mind-set that serves the many not the few.
For many years, I couldn’t see much beyond how so many political leaders manipulated us while giving in again and again to vested interests.
I didn’t want to be like that. And it wasn’t clear to me there could be another way.
But I’ve learned there is.
Whereas insecure leaders want to feel stronger by asking you to give them more power.
I recognise strong leadership as equipping you with more power.
And that starts with encouraging you to Step Up and register to vote - as part of a wider engagement with your community.
Because there’s no doubt that these are anxious times.
Individually, more of us face uncertainty at work.
Nationally, we wonder how we will make the transition out of the EU in a way that protects jobs and living standards.
And globally, we wonder how safe we are as extreme right wing movements and violent conflicts spread.
I hope you can see now that there is more than one way to respond.
We could seek a fragile calm. And hope someone in power knows what they’re doing and will guide us through.
That means looking to whoever’s in charge and welcoming their reassurance. We don’t look further, we don’t ask questions.
It’s the response the few have bet on the many settling for.
I’m in this job because I believe there is a better way to respond.
It’s about rejecting fake reassurances or simple slogans from government.
It’s about sharing ideas and deciding upon real and lasting answers.
We are not going to have free thinking shut down by a hostile media or an elite that scoffs at anyone who dares to step out line.
No, each of us has a contribution to make. We have ideas for a better tomorrow and we are going to respond together.
We are a party that wants to bring together people and ideas, and harness the thirst for real and lasting change.
If you agree our times demand a response from all parts of our society and all corners of our country, then I am proud to be your leader.
And if you want someone to hold that space open for you to help change the direction of your life and our country, then I am proud to be your leader.
Because it’s only through unleashing our talent that Britain will succeed on the world stage.
Since its foundation, the Labour Party has believed we are richer together. Seven years into Conservative government, we are poorer for being apart.
Across the country, people are being held back like never before.
Unless we change course, expect more insecure work for less pay. More stress for less time with our families.
It’s gone too far and the country knows it.
Quite simply, only the Labour Party can deliver a Fairer Britain.
But we need your help to do so.
Step Up for Britain and vote Labour on June 8th.
ENDS
