first off, thank you so so much! it was kinda sad to see everything go. i've had the same profile picture for the last two years, so i'm a bit scared people won't know it's me when i message them! the americana look is very me. . . and it's gonna be americana spring/summer this year! gingham, lace and ruffles all day every day!

you're totally fine, baby. thank you for checking on me so sweetly. my friend was younger than i am by three years and was a med student. he was smart, caring and exceedingly gentle. i've known him for over seven years now, so to say that his passing was a shock would be an understatement. he contracted something called bacterial meningitis, so one day he was complaining of a headache and then the next day he was unresponsive in his room with a crazy high fever. i think his passing was so painful because it was so sudden and unexpected.

mentally i'm in a far better place right now than i was a month ago. january was horrible and february wasn't too much better. grief is a journey, and I feel blessed to be trekking it (kinda) with you. I love love love you so much doll baby. my inbox is always open for you! and thank you for this song!!! just seeing a picture of elvis these days is enough to send me into a spiral. my man, my man, my mannnnnnn.

Aww thank you so much! I’m so happy and touched to hear that you’re enjoying my work! I will be perfectly honest with you- I read A LOT of Men’s Hockey RPF which I am going to assume you are not looking for at the moment 😂 (But if you want any MattDrai recs hit me up I am OBSESSED)

In terms of The 1975, there are so many talented writers in this fandom and it makes me really happy that everyone is able to find their own little niche.

As a primarily Gatty reader the ones that instantly come to mind for me, and whose work I always go back to are:

Drinkurkombucha - Your New Aesthetic is incredible and I just finished Kairos and it was 10/10 - I never thought I would be enthusiastically consuming Gratty content but I was so happy I did after reading it!

Vinylandcoffeecollection - Poses is one of my favorite fics ever - I love the little visits we get into the Poses universe every holiday season!

Sundrownsthehouse - Take This Pain and Give It a Name has made me feel so many things! She is so incredibly talented and such a kind soul! I can’t wait for her next update!

Oceanxeyes - I might be bias (because HORSES) but I love how much equine therapy is featured in Surrounded by Heads and Bodies

Lilyjuleen - might be a controversial take because they write Matty / Taylor but I really enjoy their work - A Sea is a Place Within in particular was really good in my opinion if that pairing is something you are open to!

I am also OBSESSED with the work of this anonymous writer - their fics can all be found in their end notes.

I hope this I what you were looking for! I know I can’t hold a candle to any of these fics mentioned - but they are some of my favorites and if you haven’t read them, I hope you enjoy them too! (Sorry this got long!)

If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)

At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.

Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.

#i think about this story sometimes like yeah I'm proud of them for that too actually. good job baby brothers #they're not babies anymore of course they're turning 20 next year which is crazy #but they're still the type of people who'd do something if they saw something of this sort happen for sure #respectful of women and everyone else too. they're good guys #I'm glad I ended up with them living in my house against my will for like 14 years #anyway i have no idea where i was for all this but my best guess is probably a friends house given the time period #i was always at my besties house lol #i hope she's doing well too actually. haven't spoken in forever...#bestie from greek elementary school... if you're out there... let's get muffins and fanta at the bakery across the street again someday 💜☮️

My father was martyred by Israel on 10 October 2023 after sacrificing his care in hospital so the injured children could take priority. Today would have been his 60th birthday. He was always selfless, kind, and giving for others. My father gave up everything for me to be able to have a better life, because that is what he always dreamed for me and my sister. The world suffered a great loss when he died, and my heart is always with him and every Palestinian who has lost someone.

In his honour and memory, I would love for anyone who is able to do so to consider donating to The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The PCRF is an amazing organisation that does so much for those in Gaza right now, including helping provide food, water and medicine. You can donate any amount you are able to- there is no minimum! My father would have given his very last cent if he saw the way Palestine was continuing to suffer after over 100 days with this limited aid, so I know celebrating him by helping others is the least he would have wanted.

I saw @parrot-parent do a very successful donation match and I thought it was such a good idea so I will also match all donations up to $500! If you feel comfortable sending me proof of the amount of your donation, I will match it as a donation at the end of February. (My messages are set to mutuals only, but if you donate and we aren’t mutuals if you send an ask with the proof I will make sure to answer it privately.)
