there was some display gallery showing off the various logos in hypmic and the ichikuu peeps on the tl were in shambles over both of them using halos in their mc name signatures lol
#vee queued to fill the void#i understand lol this is a pretty big deal like actually lol#one fan suggested an nb logo could have angel imagery since nb was under stairway to heaven#another in a very fast paced series of tweets cried about it being potential sign of ichiro and kuukou’s bond spanning from life#but even into their deaths and beyond when they reunite in heaven (and even pointed out the meaning of stairway to heaven)#and goddamn i sure love being jacked into the hypmic hive mind i can’t believe i was just musing about kuukou and death#and then directly got food for thought LOL but ichiro!!!!!!! i wasn’t expecting ichiro lol!!!!!!#but bb has been weirdly associated with christmas aka the birth of jesus#who gave his life for humanity and i am too in shambles no way does both ichiro and kuukou have self sacrifice themes NO WAY#god i remember when the hella awesome banquet mv dropped and bat fandom banded together to dissect the video#one person commented it’s strange to see kuukou in association with catholic/christian imagery#but posted a wiki article talking about the similarities between buddha and jesus and the ideologies in those religions#*crying* i even posted about it the black crown above kuukou’s head was both catholic and buddhist and meant to be beneficial for humanity#ichiro constantly being shaken to his core by sacrifices…….. him trying to show the nation the path of hope…………#this is so much lol i love getting food for thought from random observations and drops lol

I don't know if that's true. I'm jewish 100% born and raised and reject the idea that Jesus was in any way the messiah. However I do think of him especially now and do somewhat identify with him as a middle eastern jew and as an anti-zionist jew. I admire him as a figure of dissent and justice. I don't know if that's good politics or not and I really do reject christianity especially evangelical white american xtianity. barf.
I suppose I am generalizing a bit. With the stretch of Christian influence there is around the world, there will inevitably be people outside of Christian culture interact with Christian culture. I know a lot of people who admire Jesus who are born and raised Buddhists, Jews, and Hindus. However, there is something that... feels different about that than a cultural christian.
I suppose the difference being how much you base your foundational understandings of morality on Jesus. Like it is one thing for Jesus to be like some guy that said some good things (like how people treat Ghandi or whatever)... versus Jesus Christ and his teachings being informative towards one's perspective on the world.

In all my years, I've never seen a movie use non-christian pre-colonial religious imagery as a force of good against evil.
And the fact that in Wendall & Wild - a movie that takes place in a Catholic school, this type of imagery is portrayed as SO much more beautiful and powerful than the drab dreary Catholic imagery of the film... it was fuckin' rad as hell.

The reason atheist Jews and Buddhist Jews are generally more tolerated than so-called "Christian Jews" is that atheists and Buddhists aren't trying to save anyone's souls. They don't set up elaborate traps to lure Jews called things like "The Orthodox Jewish Bible" aimed solely at spreading the word of atheism and Buddhism. They don't generally lie about being Jewish; there aren't a large number of Christian atheists going around saying "We're Jewish atheists." They aren't a movement aimed at eliminating Judaism and Jews.

On the Mystical Vision of Reality, and Being In But Not Of the World
So many of our problems arise from malformed expectations of how things “should” be. These expectations are often so thick that reality can barely push through them to the light of our awareness. And, when it can, it’s not unscathed.
There’s no question that life is difficult. There’s also no question that there is no way that life “must” be. Life goes on in myriad forms and ways. The only question is can we percieve and accept reality’s variegations unscathed so as to deal with reality on its own terms?
Jesus instructed his disciples to be “in but not of” the world. Too many folks attempt to skip to the “not of” portion of that admonition, and totally bypass the necessity of being “in” the world. It’s not an option.
It seems to me that too many folks further attempt to manifest the Kingdom of Heaven, not as an enduring spiritual revelation (and expectation reviser) that stabilizes us and allows us to endure those things that must be endured, and which calls us as individuals to collectively centered ways of being, but rather as an alternative reality, the absence of which is marked not by the presence of the fruits of the spirit in our being in the world, but by rage, disappointment, foolish demands, and a general lack of centeredness.
The mystical vision of reality is not one that tries to fundamentally change the way that things have pretty much constantly been from time immemorial. That’s a fool’s errand. Rather, it seeks to refine our engagement with the world on uncommon terms and in a light that is both sober and hopeful, from which place genuine peace is realizable in the small and simultaneously boundless planes in which we can affect change and enact acceptance, all at once.

Enough Self Improvement
Our world is always imploring us to improve. You need to have a better physique, create some new skills so that you don’t get left behind, improve your relationships, your spirituality, learn a new language, or manage your money better. Here is the thing; the list is endless and 90% of the investment you make reading or taking classes in self improvement is pretty much worthless. Why do we get on…

A Journey to the West x SL crossover would be fun
Liu Zhigang as Sun Wukong
Woo Jin-Chul as Tang sanzang
Christopher Reed as Pigsy Zhu Bajie
Thomas Andre as Sandy Sha Wujing
Kaisel is the White Dragon Horse
Cha Hae-In as GuanYin
Woo Jin-Chul who always has to get saved from every kind of demon attack by Liu Zhigang and the gang, all of this crisis just to deliver some scrolls to the West. Meanwhile lady Hae-In is just giving them farewell wishes from afar with her pet fish and her disciple Han Song-Yi.
Liu Zhigang was known very well as the Sage Equal to Heaven, often caused chaos since the time of his birth, it wasn't until he got kicked to the ground by Buddha and rested over a mountain for 500 years. Then Hae-In, trying to see who would be a good candidate to take care of this very important monk, decided to go to his mountain and convince him that he shall take care of Woo Jin-Chul from all kinds of evils in this trip.
The old Lao Tzu is Go Gun Hee.
The Jade Emperor is Yoo Jin-Ho who was entirely scared of a lot Liu Zhigangs acting and the way he just became immortal like 5 times. He eventually was the one to ask for help from the Buddha.
S-
S-sung
S-sung Jin Woo as six ear macaque 👀👀👀
Sung Jin Woo creating tension between Zhigang and Jin-Chul because he knows how much zhigang cares for Jin-Chul and he is jealous of that.
Sung Jin-Woo also appearing more times in the story just to keep creating problems for Zhigang more than Jin-Chul, he gets to be a bit fond of Jin-Chul and wants to take him away so that HE can be Jin-Chul's disciple and not Zhigang, that way Zhigang cannot become enlightened with Jin-Chul.

I think so many usamerican atheists forget that Jesus is still a Christian character no matter how much your blorbo-fy him. I don’t care if you think he was queer or whatver, you’re still regurgitating Christian beliefs and pretending they’re secular.
like I’m sorry but this is genuinely foul. this isn’t blorbo from your shows it’s a Christian icon associated with oppression. get help.

Buddha taught desire is the cause of suffering, and therefore desire must be extinguished to attain peace.
For Christians the Way to peace is to surrender to God and submit to His will. Everything happens in accordance to God’s will. Everything is as God wants it to be, and happens as He wants it to happen. Gods will is unavoidable anyway!
But if we know God is loving and wise then we are able to trust God and have confidence in His will. We realise everything is as it should be. We can accept things as they are. We learn there is nothing to fear, and then submission to Gods will comes easily.

Anytime a demon shows up in a movie, it's always "oh no! get a priest! get holy water! get some crosses!"
and never "hey guys what makes us think that the Catholic Church as an institution is prepared to fight evil? Particularly when it relies upon the existence of perceived evil in order to maintain its power??"
Or "Hey, why does every story about magic and the Catholic Church also tend to canonically validate Christianity as the one true religion??"
And Wendall & Wild is like, "don't worry, y'all. We got you covered."
--
Anyway, this is yet another reason I love the portrayal of the Church in this movie. This is the most thematically coherent animated American film I've seen in a thousand years.
