Never Lost Pt2

Drukkari x female reader

College Au

Summary: You meet your new roommate Makkari and her friends at college. Something begins developing between you, Druig, and Makkari, but will insecurities and sorority girls get in the way of your blooming romance?

Pt1.

(disclaimer! This series is unedited and will have errors- I apologize)

After saying goodbye to your mom at the airport you drove back to the dorm, Makkari was nowhere to be seen when you opened the door so you opted for a shower to wash away the slight disappointment you were feeling.

You couldn’t deny that she was absolutely gorgeous, and she seemed very talented and funny, you couldn’t wait to get to know her more, and if everyone on campus was as hot as her then you were going to have a really good year.

You stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around yourself, looking around and realizing you forgot to grab some clothes. You peaked out of the door of the bathroom, and seeing that Makkari was still out you swiftly walked out of the bathroom and to your duffel bag to search for an outfit, you were so busy shuffling through your clothes you didn’t hear the small ‘beep’ of the door unlocking and you froze when you heard it open.

You turned to the door, clutching the towel tightly as you noticed Makkari in the doorway, eyes wracking over your towel-clad body before coming up to meet your own, a slight blush donning her cheeks.

You dropped a hand to sign “Sorry” which ultimately drew her attention toward your chest and caused you to flush a little.

She shook her head out of whatever she was thinking and brought a hand up to cover her eyes, a slight smile now being the only thing visible on her face, it was the perfect opportunity to look at her lips but unfortunately, you had to get dressed if you wanted to preserve at least a little bit of your dignity.

You rushed to the bathroom to change into your pajamas before exiting to find Makkari had changed into hers as well, a guilty smile found it’s way to your lips

“Sorry” you signed again

“Don’t be” she dismissed and sat criss-crossed on her bed, you copied her position on your own.

“what year are you?” she questioned

“i’m a junior” you started “ I started my first few years of college in my hometown because my family wanted me to stay close -and I was too scared to move away honestly, but then we took a vacation here last summer and I saw this college and I knew I wanted to transfer” you explained, she nodded in understanding

“I’m a junior too, a few of my friends and I transferred here because our old college got shut down, the principle was kind of controlling and the college wasn’t getting enough students admitted so the state stopped funding”

“oh wow, I’m sorry”

“I’m not, I like this college a lot more already” she gave you a mischievous smile and you blushed

“do you know if there’s anything on the itinerary yet?”

“my friends said they’re doing a welcome bonfire tomorrow night and a few more bonding things before classes start next week” she concluded

“that’s pretty cool” she nodded in agreement

“I can introduce you to my friends tomorrow if you want?” Makkari proposed

“I’d like that” the two of you exchanged numbers before getting under the covers and going to bed with a quick “goodnight”

You woke up with a smile on your face and a text from Makkari

Makkari: Hey Y/n! I went on a morning run but I promise I’ll be back soon ;)

You quickly typed out a response

Y/n: Ok cool! See you in a bit, have fun torturing yourself

You stretched before getting dressed and heading out the door, you asked the receptionist for a map before following it to the food hall. When you get there your jaw nearly drops and that plethora of foods they have available, you were about to get food when you stopped and pulled out your phone, shooting a quick text to Makkari

Y/n: Have you eaten breakfast?

The reply was almost instant

Makkari: No?

Y/n: are you allergic to anything?

Makkari: Ni

Makkari: No*

Y/n: kay

Makkari: ??

You grabbed some fruit cups, orange juice bottles, and waffles with little syrup packets before making your way back up into the dorm, Makkari was already there by the time you got back and you found yourself faced with her abs again as you entered to room.

You couldn’t help but watch the way her throat moved as she drank the water from her water bottle, jesus she wasn't the only one who was thirsty-

“You better not be a picky eater” you joked

She lit up as she spotted the food in your hands, coming over to grab half of the things you brought before giving you a hug, sandalwood and vanilla instantly flooded your senses, you would’ve stayed in her arms all day if you could.

The two of you ate your breakfast in happy silence before you finally spoke up

“Do you have any plans for today?” you let her read your lips, you found you quite liked when her attention was on them, she shook her head no before getting up to throw her trash away

- Do you want to watch a movie or something?- you suggested

“Yes”

The two of you spent the rest of the morning/noon watching rom-coms and bickering over which was the best one before Makkari decided you two should probably start getting ready for the bonfire

“Do you know if we have to bring anything?” You turned from your closet to sign to Makkari

“I don’t think so, they should be providing food and drinks” She signed back from her closet

“ I can’t find anything good to wear” you huffed

“let me help” Makkari smiled, walking over and putting a hand on your waist as she moved you over slightly to get a better look at your wardrobe, it made you shiver and you’re more than sure she felt it but she gave no indication that she had.

She pulled out a pair of white jean shorts and a black t-shirt and handed it to you, you changed in the bathroom before coming out and looking in the mirror,

“It’s cute but I feel like it’s missing something” you confessed, she nodded her head in agreement, walking back over to your closet and looking for something before going back to her side and retrieving a jean jacket. She handed it over to you and a light blush crept onto your face as you slipped it on

“are you sure?” you knew it was going to be cold and you certainly weren’t opposed to wearing her jacket but you didn’t know if you two had reached that level comfortability yet. Apparently, you had as Makkari gives you a nod and motions for you to turn around and look in the mirror

“it looks good, Thank you” You gave her a smile that she returned before the two of you continued getting ready.

Look At The Sky

Pairing: Ikaris x Eternals!Pregnant! Reader

Summary: Right when all of you try to leave Babylon, you go into labor

Warnings: Ikaris being absent, battle scene, nongraphic birth scene

It was hard to leave your first home on Earth.

Half of the Eternals were all in the jungle, trying to escape the remains of the temple as it was under attack by humans.

You were currently nine months pregnant with your first child with Ikaris. It became such a surprise after your union together. You were ecstatic, you always had a maternal nature and the others were happy for you.

Unfortunately, Ikaris was hesitant about your newly discovered pregnancy.

You were all on this new planet and all he wanted was to take you back to Olympia before the child arrived. You reassured him that everything will go according to plan, but you could see he wasn't happy.

Ajak suggested that both of you should stick together while the others fought the last deviants, but Ikaris insisted that he should join the fight. You didn't deny him this chance as this may be the last action he will be doing before your child arrived.

Now, all you could hear were the wails of humans being terrorized by each other. It brought each of you heartache, but you all promised to never interfere with mortal conflict.

A gust of wind blew past you as you see Makkarri just ran back, possibly saving whomever she could.

She could sense something was wrong as your breathing was irregular and you were rubbing your back in discomfort.

"Are you alright?" she signed, with worry on her face.

You held her hand and smiled at her. "I'm ok." you said confidently, even if she knew you were lying.

Druig was at fault with himself that he wasn't able to help the people, but Ajak told him to stop. Druig is never the one to wear his emotions on his sleeve, but he hated how he felt helpless when he could stop wars in just a second.

You're about to comfort him until Thena stopped abruptly in her tracks, looking at the distance. "Everyone is going to die." she spoke out, her eyes turning white and her face had traces of gold.

"Thena, are you alright?" you questioned, going up to her.

She then generated her weapons and before you knew it, Makkarri took you in her arms and ran away from Thena's swing from her spear.

"Stay here!" Makkarri signed as she ran back, protecting the others. Your heart was beating loud as you were lost of why Thena burst out in rage.

But then, you remember legends of previous Eternals who witness such destruction that it gave them hallucinations and killed everyone around them:

Mahd W'yry.

You saw Thena hurting Phastos, Sersei, and Makkarri, including piercing Ajak's hand. You suddenly feel a jolt in your system, hissing from the harsh kicks your child is giving you.

"Not now..." you said

Your breathing becomes haggard as Thena suddenly made eye contact with you. She starts racing to your hiding space and hid your face in your hands. Suddenly, you don't feel the impact.

You look up and see Gilgamesh using his golden fists to stop her from striking you. "Run!" He says, looking back at you.

You hurried on your feet, trying to get away from the scene as you circled back to the others. Ikaris joins the fight to calm down Thena and it wasn't until the final punch that knocked her out cold. Ikaris flies to you as he could sense how you were in distress.

"Are you alright?" He asks as he inspects every inch of your body, trying to find any wounds.

You shake your head yes and hug him as your face is buried in his chest. He holds you tightly as your breathing returns to normal.

You turn around and see your fellow Eternals shaken up from Thena as Gilgamesh returns to the circle, holding her unconscious body.

"Let's return to the temple." Ajak said as everyone walked back.

During the walk, Ikaris took his hand into yours, afraid to let you go. He could see you were still shaken from tonight's events but your child within you was stirring.

You look at your stoic husband whose mind was elsewhere.

"I know you're worried, but I'm fine. We're fine." You said, taking his palm and placing it on your belly.

He quickly takes his hand away from his growing child, looking away from you.

"There you go again." you said, your emotions filling with rage.

"What do you mean 'again'?" he says, turning back to you.

You scoff as you stop in your tracks to look at him.

"Don't you think that I know that you're not happy about this child, Ikaris? Ever since I told you of this news, you have been absent. You rarely sleep in the same bed as me and every time I ask you what do you think our child will be like, you respond 'we'll wait till we arrive on Olympia.' Well, I'm done waiting. This baby will come and it can't wait any longer to arrive back on our planet. You need to accept that Earth is our new home now. If you don't want to partake in raising our child, then maybe you should have reconsidered marrying me" you said, storming away from your husband to join the others ahead of you.

Ikaris stands there a bit stunned but slowly walks behind the rest as he faces his thoughts alone yet again.

Once you all arrive at the temple, Gilgamesh places Thena on the table as Ajak healed those who were impaled.

"Do you think she has Mahd W'yry?" Sersei asks out loud as your friends' faces started to go pale. Ajak looks with her head down as that answers her question.

Thena gasps out loud as you see she returned to her old self. You could see the confusion in her eyes when she realizes everyone was scared of her. Ajak tells her of what she has done to the others never have you seen Thena so heartbroken.

Ajak suggests erasing her memories to get rid of her relapse but Thena pleads to remember.

All of you could still hear the wails on the ground below, hearing gunshots and the slaughter of innocent people. You then see Druig in his thoughts as he stares off to battle in front of him.

"I can end it all." he muttered under his breath. His eyes turn to gold as the sounds of war ceased. It began to be quiet, but that was not peaceful.

The rest start to argue about Thena, but Ikaris starts to corner Druig to stop using his powers on the humans.

"Why should we stay? The Deviants are gone, we have no purpose to witness the wrongs of history together. It's meaningless." The tension in the group starts to rise and you feel your baby kicking you harshly.

"Stop. Please, everyone." You begged quietly as you felt like the room was closing in.

Makkarri sees how you begin to shake as sweat starts dribbling down your forehead. She goes up to you as you grab her arm in support, sensing how the vibrations in your body was going out of control.

"My dear, are you alright?" Thena said, catching everyone's attention as she gets off the table to help your wobbling state.

You gasp loudly as a gush of water releases from your legs, your groans growing louder by the second. Thena and Makarri hold your waist as you feel like crouching on the floor.

Druig must have stopped using his powers as the sounds of war returned again.

"The baby... it's coming." you screamed between pants.

Ikaris rushes towards you as well as Ajak, who places a hand on your midsection.

"She must deliver safely in the ship. Ikaris, fly over there while all of us protect you on the ground." Ajak demanded your husband.

He wastes no time as he takes you in his arms softly and flies up in the air. You sank into his warm touch as you began to cry in his embrace.

"We're almost there." he murmured in your ear.

He then flies down to the bottom of another temple, as he enters within the ship. He still holds you in his arms till Makkarri arrived with Ajak on her side.

The rest of the Eternals join you all in the center of the ship as Ajak shouted orders.

"Sersei, I need you to grab a big bowl of water. Sprite, try to find blankets when the baby arrives. Phastos, I need you to create tools to help with the delivery." Ajak ordered as everyone ran in different directions as you were then carried off to a spare room to lie down.

Once Ikaris places you down, you scream again in pain as your eyes shut closed. Everybody starts flooding in the room to deliver things and Ikaris had no choice to leave so they could help you.

You're about to reach out for his hand, but Ajak comes into your vision.

"The baby isn't ready to arrive, but Druig can help your mind rest before the birth. Is that alright with you?" You realize that you need to save your strength so you nod your head, too tired to talk. Druig gives you a comforting look till you slowly close your eyes, your pain almost becoming extinct.

Unfortunately, you couldn't ignore the pain that was in your heart.

Ikaris sits in front of the statue of the Celestial, trying to erase the pained words you said to him previously.

"You should have stayed with her." a voice said, pulling him out of his thoughts.

He turns to see Kingo already making his way to sit next to him.

"Go away Kingo, I have no time for your jest." Ikaris replies.

"I'm serious, she needs you by her side, more than ever." Kingo replies as Ikaris gets up.

"She has everyone helping her. I'm just dead weight." he spoke back, almost raising his voice.

Ikaris feels something wet on his face, realizing he was crying for the first time.

Kingo goes up and places a hand on his shoulder. "What's actually going on?" he asks his friend.

The flying man bows his head in shame as more tears spill down his cheeks.

"I don't know how to be a father..." he mutters out.

Kingo chuckles lightly and looks at Ikaris. "You think that your wife knows how to be a mother?" Ikaris rolls his eyes and steps away, wiping his eyes.

"You don't get it. She's more nurturing than I'd ever been. All I know is how to fight and protect, that will never be enough for a child... my child." he chokes out.

Kingo takes a beat and walks to Ikaris, facing his back.

"Fight and defend... sounds like what a parent would do, what a father should do." Ikaris turns around, looking at Kingo.

"Would you protect your child until your dying breath?" Kingo asks.

Ikaris hears these words and visibly lifts his shoulders in confidence.

"Yes." he said

"Would you care for your child and provide for them, with everything you have and more?"

"Yes." Ikaris said quicker.

"Will you not only be a loving father, but a loving husband to the girl who's bringing them into the world?"

Ikaris nods his head. "Yes." he boomed out loud.

Kingo takes his hands and place it on Ikaris' shoulders.

"Than there's nothing for you to doubt. You love your wife and now you get to meet your kid. Sure you're afraid, but what I learned from humans, fear can turn into strength. Be her strength and she'll do the same for you."

Ikaris smiles, realizing he'll be a father in a moment's time, all because of you.

"Thank you, Kingo." Ikaris said.

Suddenly, the two men whip their heads when they hear a screaming filling the halls of the ship. Gilgamesh appears, out of breath.

"She's calling for you, Ikaris." Gilgamesh said quickly.

Kingo pats Ikaris on the back.

"Go, man. Make me a godfather." Ikaris rolls his eyes and smirks as he starts running away.

"Keep on dreaming, Kingo."

All he could focus on was you as your pained screams became louder. He then arrives and sees you on the bed with Ajak on the other side.

Ikaris kneels by your left and takes your hand into his, he could feel how you hold him for dear life as your body torments you.

You scatter your eyes around till they land on those blue eyes you loved so deeply.

"You came." you gasp out, almost sobbing as you see the man you loved come back. He kisses your hand as he uses his pointer to move away your wet hair away from your face.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world."

You scream again, clenching his hand hard as you feel your baby move farther.

Ajak smiles at both of you, preparing for the delivery.

"Are you two ready?" she asks. You both look at each other and nod, ready to meet your baby.

It was a hard delivery, especially when you all realized that you were giving birth to twins. Although it became a shock to you, Ikaris was smiling widely as he coached you through.

After Ajak was done with the delivery (and healed Ikaris' hand as you broke it during the birth), she left you two alone as you have time with your children.

He sits beside you as he held his dashing son while you held your angelic daughter.

"I can't believe they're here." you whispered, leaning on his shoulder.

"Nor can I." he replied, his eyes still glued on the little boy in his arms.

A comfortable pause was present till he stirred underneath you, wanting to speak.

"I'm sorry... for the way I've been acting to you these past months. I've been neglectful as a husband, I don't deserve you... I don't deserve these precious gifts you made." he sobs on his last statement, referring his children.

"It's a sorry excuse, but I felt like I couldn't provide for you. You've done nothing but love me and I made a vow to do the same. I failed you, but I want to have another chance. I want to raise these children with you, be their protector when danger lurks and be their sanctuary when they want love... if, you have me."

You close your eyes as you connect your forehead onto his, feeling the raw of emotion he hasn't displayed for so long.

"Of course I forgive you, my love. Why did you not tell me sooner of your fears? I would have lessened the load so you could love freely."

He then kisses you, and it feels like time slowed down. He then pulls away to admire your goddess like complexion.

"There you go again, always putting others before yourself." He teased.

You shrug your shoulders as you look down at your children.

"I can't help it, I'd do anything for the ones I love."

Ikaris looks down as he sees their children as they stir in their sleep.

"And I as well."

Not a minute passed and the room suddenly floods with all of the Eternals.

"Ajak hasn't told us yet, but is it a boy or a -" Sersei cuts off her sentence as she sees both of you hold two babies.

"The girl was born first, then the boy was a great surprise." You said, smiling as you see your family admire your children.

She squeals in delight as she nears to your bed, peering at your peaceful babies.

Ikaris sees Thena in the far end of the room, admiring the sight. He slowly gets up with his son in his arms and speaks lightly.

"Would you like to hold him?" he asks.

"I don't want to harm them." she whispers as all eyes were on her.

"I trust you." He simply said. Thena makes eye contact with you and you nod yes that you trust her as well.

Ikaris was quick enough to guide his son into her arms, seeing a shift in Thena's face. She began to smile widely when the small boy took his hand and grabbed her finger.

"He's a strong one." She said, looking at her brother in arms.

"That he is." Ikaris said as the two moved closer to everyone.

Sersei holds your baby girl, fascinated with every aspect of your daughter's beauty.

"What are there names?" Gilgamesh asks.

Ikaris joins your side again and you both look at one another, holding each other's hand.

"For the girl, her name is Eirian... Silver as the moon." You said.

"and for the boy, Aurelio... Golden as the sun." Ikaris said.

Everyone cooed at their names, and you see Ajak beam with pride.

Ajak steps forward to look at all of you in the room. "Earlier tonight, I almost considered you all to live your lives separately because we completed our tasks of eliminating the Deviants. But Druig is right, we cannot turn a blind eye to humanities wars, especially when there are new additions to live on this planet."

You hold Ikaris' hand tightly, realizing of the harsh environment your children will encounter for the rest of their lives.

"But what I saw from tonight - everyone helping in their own way to deliver your children - I know we can do anything if we combine our gifts and protect the innocent."

Suddenly, your children start to cry as they're far away from their parents. Sersei and Thena return your children to you and Ikaris, you holding Aurelio and him holding Eirian.

"Then we'll stick together, as a family." Ikaris concluded.

Sprite steps aside and her hands glow, illuminating the room with her illusion.

You all gasp as she creates the sun and the moon in perfect harmony.

"Look at the sky, my loves." You say as you bend down to your children, their whimpers dying down.

You straighten your back as Ikaris kissed your temple, as all of you took in that precious moment.

Nothing could ruin it.

"You know, Kingo could make a great middle name."

Everyone groaned from his statement as Gilgamesh slapped him in the back of the head.

What did you all expect, your Eternals... dysfunctional, but loving.

a/n: did I keep Gilgamesh knocking some sense into Kingo? yes.

Will I ever stop? Probably not.

I vote that Gilgamesh is the honorary "slap Kingo in the back of the head" type of Eternal.

So I just watched Eternals (Phestos and his family and Drukkarri carried that movie) but I had an Idea pop into my head.

What if Jack Frost from Rise of The Guardians was an Eternal who lost his memory (or Mim took it away) before he became the spirit of winter? His power being ice or atmospheric manipulation. And he had a whole Poly thing going on with Druig and Makkarri.

But fast forward, the battle with Pitch is over. (Maybe he's dating Bunny, don't judge me) The Emergence is about to happen so Manny is forced to give Jack his memory back.

He now has to deal with knowing he could've done more during the whole thing with Pitch and the fact that he was brought to this world that he loves to end it. (Also he thinks he's going to have to pick between Drukkarri and Bunny.)

His crook is actually a weapon that Phestos made him that was grown over by a tree (It was made to disconnect into two weapons) and was up there with Thena in combat.

Just something that popped into my head. (Wether frostbunny and Drukkarri ended up in four way relationship or Drukkarri we're completely ok with their boyfriend having a boyfriend is up for debate.)

Edit: I also kinda think Jack's Original name was Jakul (forgot to put it here)

>plot wasn't great. mighta been better if it was less rushed/if the plot was longer and put into like, a disney plus series/multiple movies/longer run time. also didnt like all that focus on ikaris+sersis relationship. gilgamesh and thena were cute tho

>characters in general were ok. i think thena's illness was an interesting allegory for mental illness. ikaris was a bit meh and not to talk like this about suicide but like, i didnt like it. i didnt like how sersi didnt try to stop him and just stood there, considering their relationship. gilgamesh was sweet, i liked him. wish he didnt get killed tho. ajak was meh. we didnt get to know anything about her really. sersi was also meh. sprite i most likely wouldve loved if she got more character development. druig and makkarri i also wish got more character development, and just more development together. and kingo. kingo was fuckin awesome. he also deserves more screentime. and phastos. i love him too. he also deserves more screentime.

Never Lost Pt1

~Ongoing~

Drukkari x female reader

College Au

You smiled as you felt the fresh warm air hit your face, stepping out of the car you admired to view in front of you.The dorm buildings were huge and lavish, you could only imagine what the inside looked like.

You were snapped out of your thoughts by your mom nudging your shoulder

“Come on Y/n, we don’t have all day and I have a flight to catch” She grabbed some of your bags from the backseat and began walking towards the dorm doors, you playfully rolled your eyes- it was 8 AM you both had plenty of time to get your stuff unpacked.

Your mother had gratefully made the drive up to California with you in your car, but she was catching a flight back home this evening in order to get back in time for work.

You grabbed one of the duffel bags and slung it around your shoulder before grabbing a box and following after your mom, you found her talking with the receptionist at the front desk of the building, they both looked at you as you approached

“Hi! You must be Y/n?” the woman questioned and you groaned

“Mom, what have you told her?” your mom just shook her head with a small smile

“I’m just trying to find out where your room is y/n” She stated, you squinted your eyes at her in suspicion

“Right, I just need you to sign a few papers and then i can give you your keycard- it’s used to get in your dorm, foodhall, and lounge rooms”

“Ok cool” You set down your stuff and grabbed the pen handed to you, briefly reading over everything before signing

“So she has a roommate right?” Your mom inquired

“Yes, she arrived yesterday so all of her stuff will be in the room already, i’m not sure if she’s there currently but i guess you’ll find out” The receptionist said

“She?” Your mother turned to you with an inquisitive smirk on her face and you had to physically restrain yourself from rolling your eyes again.

It was no secret that you were bisexual, and you were lucky to have a mother that was accepting but it also meant that she was buying you anything and everything that had a rainbow and assumed you were going to fall in love with every girl you met. You were lucky you did most of the shopping for your dorm by yourself or you’re almost entirely sure your bedspread and school supplies would all be rainbow.

You waved a polite goodbye to the front desk lady as you picked up your bags and new keycard and began walking to your dorm, you had to take the elevator because your room was on the second floor but you didn’t mind as you didn’t have anything too heavy to unpack anyway.

You scanned the keycard until the lock flashed green and entered the room, you looked over to the other side that was practically already fully decorated and noticed a few track trophies and posters of older bands of music, they had good taste you decided.

You set your stuff down on your side, throwing the duffle bag onto the bed before following it and laying down.

Huh, the bed wasn’t as bad as you thought it’d be.

Your mother huffed “no no no Y/n there is no time for resting, we’ve got to unpack the rest of the car come on” She left no room for arguments as she exited the room, she was always one to worry about time crunches.

You ran after your mom as she nearly speed walked out of the building, stopping in the lobby to catch your breath when you noticed by far the prettiest girl you’d ever seen walk into the building, she was dressed in a crop top and leggings showing off her beautiful caramel skin and good physique as she wiped sweat off her neck with a towel, obviously coming back from some sort of run.

She looked over at you, catching you staring and giving you the most beautiful smile you’d ever seen before waving and walking away. Oh yeah, you liked this college already.

You and your mom grabbed the rest of your stuff and you locked your car before making your way back, this time when you opened your door there was someone inside and you thanked the heavens for whoever assigned the roommates. The same girl you’d run into downstairs was sitting on her bed and scrolling on her phone, looking up when you and your mother entered

“Oh look Y/n! Hi, I’m y/n’s mother it’s nice to meet you” You mother set down the boxes she was holding and walked over to the pretty girl who sat up to shake your moms hand

“What’s your name darling?” your mother questioned, you could see the girl paying avid attention to your mom’s mouth, you were about to question it before your eyes were drawn down to her hands as she signed her name M-a-k-k-a-r-i. Ah, now you understood, she was reading her lips.

You smiled to yourself as you put down your boxes and walked over, introducing yourself in return, the girl looked mildly surprised but more pleased than anything.

“You speak sign language?” She signed

You nodded “My nephew is deaf so i learned it so I could communicate with him-, you explained

“That’s very sweet of you”

“Thank you”

“Well i’m glad to see you two getting along already” you mother interjected “but we need to get you set up Hon” she turned to you and you sighed

“Alright”

Makkari offered to help and despite you telling her you didn’t want to inconvenience her, she still helped you set up a few things, the three of you working together got the unpacking done a lot faster than you’d excepted and by the time noon came around you were practically finished

“Shit that was fast” you expressed, Makkari smiling and your mother swatting you on the shoulder

You sat down on your bed as your mother announced she was going to the bathroom, Makkari sat across from you on her bed

“So,” you began signing “You do track?” you nodded your head in the direction of her trophies

She beamed “Yes! I love running, it’s always been very therapeutic for me”

You snorted “couldn’t be me, exercise is not my thing, the most I can do is like 2 push-ups and a hike to the nearest ice cream shop”

She shook her head, pretending to scold you “exercise is very important, helps to keep you healthy”

“Amongst other things” you muttered to yourself, trying hard not to look at the abs showing slightly under the crop top she was wearing, when you looked back up she was smirking. Shit, had she read your lips?

Your mother burst back in right at that moment, complaining that you hadn’t moved since she left and forcing you to get off your bed to continue setting everything up, there were still some things you needed, like food for the next week at least and a few textbooks so after finishing your room you waved goodbye to Makkari and went off with your mom.

You had a feeling this school year was going to be interesting, to say the least
