Okay so if you'll see an earlier post I made, I fixed a bug last week that ensured fic counts include locked fics again. Since last week's numbers were before the fix and the percentage compares last week and this week, all the fandoms with high locked fic % (mostly RPF) are showing on this week's "fastest growing" analysis. Not quite accurate, but it will fix itself next week. Sorry y'all!

Can't do it without you– Jeremy Swayman X Linus Ullmark

Warnings(?): angst, overthinker sway, hurt/comfort, trade talk, love confessions,

Jeremy felt horrible, he felt like he failed the team, he let that last goal in and it was his fault. So when that buzzer went off, he couldn't hold himself together any longer, tears rolled down his cheeks as he watched his team come onto the ice to comfort him and say goodbye and thank you to the fans until the next season.

Jeremy found Linus, he skated up to him slowly, he looked at him "I'm- I'm sorry I couldn't do it" he muttered dipping his head onto his shoulder. Linus frowned at Jeremy, he brought his gloved hand up to his head and patted his helmet

"you did everything you could sway, they were just the better team today" he whispered, watching at those sad brown eyes looked up at him through the helmet. He patted his back "come on, let's go get changed" he whispered.

Jeremy just followed like a sad puppy, he waved to the fans as he went off. Once in the locker room, he just sat in his stall. He didn't make a move to undress until Monty had came up to him and patted his shoulder, telling him he did a good job. Jeremy wanted to believe him but he just couldn't, not after tonight, he felt like he did last season. But this season wasn't last season, this season felt different, he felt some kind of other loss. It started when the trade deadline started to came up. When people who interviewed him asked about Linus and what he thinks about him possibly being traded.

He couldn't, he couldn't think of that, even if Linus said no to one of the trades. There was still so many teams that would be glad to take Linus in as their goalie but did anyone want him. Never, no one ever did. That through played on his mind alot and now it was playing on repeat as he stripped from his paddings and got ready to have a interview, he sighed. He hated this part, be just wanted to be left alone but no.

The interview went how he thought it would be. He could hear everytime he spoke, his voice broke, he let some more tears roll down his cheek but once it was over. He stuffing everything in his bag as he zipped it out, he was about to just walk out of the room without a word, he couldn't handle this anymore, he just needed to rest but before he could even get out the door, he way stopped by a hand wrapping around his waist and pulled him back, he turned to show it could be. He frowned when he saw Linus' concerned face looking at him

"jere, where you going?" He asked softly

"home" he muttered out a bit more angrily then he wanted to

"no you're not, tonight you're staying with me..I" he paused and looked at him "I know how you get and I can't let you best yourself up over this" be whispered

Sway stood there for a moment thinking about it "but, moa an-"

"moa doesn't care if you come over, Jere" he looked at him, his hand moved and cupped the back of his neck "so please?" He asked

Jeremy sighed, he couldn't say no when Linus is giving him these worried eyes, so he nodded "okay I'll over but please hurry, I wanna leave" he whispering.

Linus nodded as he packed up the rest of the his stuff and headed to Jeremy after saying his goodbyes. He looked at Jeremy softly as he placed his hand on his lower back and leads him down the hallway to the private locker room.

Jeremy just stayed silent, he didn't want to. He just didn't know what he wanted to say. He just looked at the floor but then the words

"please don't leave me.." came out his mouth, he didn't know why but he meant what he said, he didn't want Linus to leave him at all

Linus looked at him sadly "what?" He asked softly as he looked at him.

"don't leave me for a better team, or..or a better goalie partner" he whined at how pathetic he sounded saying this. He looked up at Linus' sad face looking back at his. He watched Linus drop his bag and pull him into a tight hug that he melted into. His arms going around him and let the tears leave his eyes sadly

"I never want to leave you Jere" Linus whispered into his ear as he pulled back and leaned his forehead on Jeremy's

Jeremy just hummed as he looked up into his eyes "but you could" he whispered

"never, I want you Jere, only you, only want to be on this team with you" he whispered as they shared a long look before Jeremy had leaned up slightly, pressing his lips against Linus'. It taken a couple of seconds before Linus to kiss back but when he did, he cupped Jeremy's cheeks, letting their lips just connect them for a couple of moments.

They both didn't know how long they were there but they both pulled away quickly when they heard a door shut near by. They soon looked at each other and laughed at their reaction. Jeremy felt lighter, he felt better after kissing Linus. Maybe that's all he needed this whole time, he just needed Linus, that's it.

Linus had smiled as he wiped the tear stains off his cheek "I'm in love with you Jeremy Swayman.." he whispered

"I'm in love with you to, Linus Ullmark" he let out a giggle as he kept him close, his hands resting on his hips. They just couldn't help but share another couple of kisses as they stood there.

"I'll never leave you even if I'm on another team, I'm going to be here, I'll always be with you" Linus whispered "you're my one" he added, watching Jeremy blush a shade of pink

"you're my one as well Linus" he hugged him again until Linus patted his back and pulled away grabbing his bag

"let's go home yeah?" Linus spoke softly

"yeah let's" Jeremy whispered as they made their way to Linus' car. They had sat in silence on the way to Linus' but neither minded this silence. Linus had just hummed to himself, he focused on the road but his hand moved to Jeremy's thigh, taking his hand into his and held it gently.

Jeremy smiled at the feeling, it was nice knowing he had Linus share the same feelings but then he started thinking about Moa, he panicked and turned to Linus

"Linus, moa, does she– does she know?" He asked, watching Linus nod calmly

"she does, yes, she knows about my feelings and everything, we're still going to be together, we love each other but I also love you, she loves you as well, maybe not in the way I love you but she does" he whispered and glanced at him "she knows I promise" he moved Jeremy's hand to his lips and kissed it gently.

Jeremy melted back into his seat, feeling better knowing that "good, I didn't want to be a homewrecker" he laughed softly, making Linus laugh as well

"nah, you couldn't be" he smirked at him as he soon pulled into the drive way of his house. He turned the car off and got out with Jeremy. They made their way inside, Jeremy kicked his shoes off, dropped his bag beside Linus' and walked to the living room and smiled at moa asleep on the couch, he looked at Linus

"someone got sleepy" Jeremy giggled quietly and Linus just smiled as he walked over kissing her head before placing a blanket over her "she'll be okay" he whispered and looked at Jeremy who watched in awe. Linus went over kissing him gently. He had kissed back.

"mm we should go to bed ourselves" Linus muttered again his lips as he kept kissing Jeremy, who giggled against his "mm yeah we should" they both kept sharing kisses before they focused themselves away from each other. They giggled before Jeremy hummed "could I use your shower before he sleep?" He asked.

Linus smiled nodding "always, go for it. I'll lay some clothes out for you" he kissed his cheek as he went to his room, grabbing clothes that would fit him. he sat them on the edge of the bed. He listened to Jeremy start running the shower, he smiled as he stripped down from his own clothes and changed into something for comfortable before laying back in bed and scrolled on Instagram for a bit

Jeremy ended up having a warm shower, he felt his bones relax under the spray, it felt so good. He didn't worry about anything, not about the loss, not about Linus possibly leaving, his mind was just clear and calm. It felt good. It was only a couple of minutes later when he stepped out, grabbing a towel and dried his hair the best he could before wrapping the towel around his waist and went into Linus' room, smiling at him looking all comfy.

Linus looked up when he heard Jeremy "hurry up and get dressed, I'm cold" he laughed placing his phone down.

Jeremy laughed with him "yeah yeah, I'm getting there" he dropped his towel and got dressed and climbed into bed after putting the towel in hamper. Once in the bed, he curled up to Linus, feeling his cold body against his. He liked this, he could get use to it.

It wasn't long before both just dozed off after muttering sweet i love you's to each other

i know that none of you that tagged me go here, but i poked at my dumotanger (hockey rpf) omegaverse college au today. have a few sentences :)

Brian catches himself thinking about scenting him, about tucking his face into his armpit or his throat or the crease of his thigh. He shakes his head and tries to refocus. He tries not to stare as Hot guy does some stretches and pesters a tall, lanky guy with messy curls into doing them with him. He’s mostly successful until he grabs a foam roller. He looks obscene rolling out his quads, his hamstrings, his glutes. Brian’s starting to sweat through his shirt and he hasn’t even done anything yet. He glances around, trying to find something, anything else to look at, when he spies the omega he always sees hanging around with Hot guy. He’s on a leg press machine, quads straining, pushing more weight than Brian’s ever seen an omega even try to lift. He’s pretty sure the guy’s thighs are thicker than any alpha he’s seen.

Top 5 natecale moments

this was hard because really just their general state of ~existing~ is what does it for me but i tried my best!

the hug after the stanley cup win. the head cradle? the smoosh? the way they go back for a second hug? the everything? so tender so soft? i--the genuine SQUEAK i let out upon first watching it.

nate just constantly gushing about him?? like for actual years?? there are so many interviews i could link it's obscene. one of my faves that i'll also include here is last year when they were talking about the ea rankings and nate was told cale's and he just goes "that's trash" all serious. like YES it is trash tell them nathaniel

their stupid ass tnt interview recently where biz i think was chirping nate about his suits and cale was like "no haha nate actually told ME that he bought this suit just for the night" the way they giggle and touch each other and then they walked down the red carpet together actually made me insane. that's boyfriend behavior!!

nate defending cale yeah yeah yeah

cale scoring his first goal in his first game assisted by nate and then nate being impressed afterwards like this goddamn rookie comes in and is sometimes the best player on the ice, even better than nate, i just know that did it for him.

tbh it's less about individual moments with these two (though there are plenty) and more about the general ~narrative~ surrounding them. they both love the game so much and take it so seriously, but while nate is so fiery and emotional, cale is so calm and steady--basically the exact opposite and compliment. but also!! they are two of THE most talented players in the game. like cale is genuinely probably even better than nate and one of the only people nate can genuinely learn from and also vice versa for cale. and for someone like nate who lives and breathes hockey there is definitely something to be said about having another player that can genuinely push him to be better not just because he always WANTS to be better but because he HAS to with cale. they push each other to be the best versions of themselves both on and off the ice and idk i just think that's really sweet.

i could go ON and ON but they were my first hrpf love and remain my first hrpf love.

Nolan Patrick, Vegas Golden Knights Center, drafted second overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2017, retires at age 24. He doesn’t read past the headline; he knows what it will say. That he never lived up to his potential, that he was a waste of a draft pick, that he’s injury-prone, that he only got where he did because of his last name. Every fake-supportive quote from anyone who’s ever talked about his career. But it doesn’t make him panic. Doesn’t make him angry, even. He doesn’t give a shit what they say about him. He’s done. He’s free. He’ll miss hockey, miss having a second family in a team, not that he ever really found that in Vegas. And he’s got no idea what he’s gonna do. But he doesn’t have to live under the crippling pressure to get better, to live up to everyone’s expectations, to fit the NHL mold. Not anymore. He can just be.

There are no restrictions on the type of relationship. You can have alpha/omega relationships or go for something less conventional like alpha/alpha, alpha/beta, etc.

There are no restrictions on the rating of the fic. Omegaverse is not inherently sexual, so works of ALL ratings are welcomed and encouraged. Some examples of G/T ideas include: an act such as nesting, courting, purring while cuddling, scenting, getting territorial. Please just tag the rating accordingly.

Your work must be tagged appropriately. You must use the tag “Omegaverse” as the tag “a/b/o” is considered offensive, so we ask that you please avoid using this terminology. Kindly stick to: “omegaverse”, “alpha/beta/omega”, “alpha/omega dynamics”, “alpha/alpha relationships” or some variation of those.

All modes of creation are accepted with the following minimums:

Fics: 750 words

Art: finished sketch (inked/lined, coloured or shaded)

Moodboards (9 pictures)

Fanvids (2 minutes)

Podfics (4 minutes)

Other crafts (equivalent of the above - if unsure, give us a shout!) There is no maximum to the limits above, and no limit on how many works you create.
