No. 1. (1). Toilette de baby en surah bleu. — Robe blouse, avec jupe formée par un volant plissé surmonté par un bouillonné, dans lequel est passé un ruban, noué sur le côté. Long corsage blouse, froncé autour du cou par un ruban, passé dans une coulisse, manches bouffantes à poignets de velours.

No. 1. (1). Child's ensemble in blue surah. — Smock dress, with skirt formed by a pleated flounce topped by a ruffle, through which a ribbon is threaded, tied on the side. Long bodice blouse, gathered around the neck with a ribbon, slipped through a drawstring, puffed sleeves with velvet cuffs.

(2). Toilette de jeune femme en lainage gris. — Jupe rayée couverte de larges bandes noires à pois blancs, tissées dans l'étoffe. Une longue draperie gris unie, retombe sur le côté gauche, et va former pouf derrière. Corsage plat, garni de revers en velours, ouvrant sur une chemisette semblable à la jupe. Manches plates.

(2). Young woman's ensemble in gray wool. — Striped skirt covered with large black bands with white polka dots, woven into the fabric. A long plain gray drapery falls on the left side, and will form a pouf behind. Flat bodice, trimmed with velvet lapels, opening onto a shirt similar to the skirt. Flat sleeves.

(3). Costume en lainage quadrillé. — Sous-jupe unie, sur laquelle retombe la jupe principale, très drapée sur le devant et ornée par un large panneau boutonné sur le côté. Une longue pique de velours sépare le panneau du pouf quadrillé comme le reste de la draperie. Le corsage, à pointes ouvertes, est orné de deux piques en velours montantes et ouvre su un plastron de velours croisé, à petit revers quadrillé; manches plates, col rabattu et parements en lainage uni.

(3). Checked woolen suit. — Plain underskirt, on which the main skirt falls, very draped on the front and decorated with a large buttoned panel on the side. A long velvet pole separates the panel from the squared pouf like the rest of the drapery. The bodice, with open points, is decorated with two rising velvet spikes and opens onto a crossed velvet bib, with a small squared lapel; flat sleeves, turn-down collar and plain wool facings.

Conservation Status- Least Concern

Habitat- Southwestern United States; Mexico

Size (Weight/Length)- 200 g

Diet- Leaves; Fruits; Seeds; Insects

Cool Facts- The Gambel’s quail is a species of ground quail that is surprisingly speedy despite their short legs. While both sexes have their iconic topknots and scaly looking wings, only males have their brilliant facial markings. Being monogamous, during the fall juvenile males will start courting females. Finding a high spot, such as a large rock, bush, or the top of a cactus, the males stretch their heads out and coo. After winning over a mate and raising a family, the chicks often stay with their parents to raise the next generation of their siblings before splitting off.

Rating- 12/10 (My Coturnix have made me love all quail species.)
