OC Questions On Friendship and Companionship.

The practice of exchanging bracelets as a sign of friendship began in China between 481 and 221 BCE. Originally these were in the form of knotted cords, as there was a belief that when the knot wore through then a wish would come true. Whether the colours of these bracelets ever held any particular symbolism, or if that is a more recent invention, is open to debate, but in recent years bracelets have certainly been exchanged with colours intended to express particular aspects of a friendship through symbolism.

They proposed at the same time, with the help from their critter friends who are done with their hopelessness.

From the previous ask, I did mention these two having an intense rivalry since childhood and keeps trying to one-up each other. Cue to the time before they propose, they still try to one up each other. With that many attempts, so many failed attempts of them proposing each other, much to their dismay.

Until one day. These two were having a casual fly over (totally not planning of how to propose). They were heading for their favorite spot. Feeling the breeze as they fly there, they think to themselves, "Maybe this is it. Maybe today's the day." They reached their spot and each telling the other, they need to fetch something. You see, their favorite spot are surrounded by wildflowers. So, they figure they'll pick their partner's favorite flowers and hide another gift in the bouquet. They asked their critter friends to subtly place these flowers at a specific spot. Which little did they know, their small friends are tired of these two having to dance around and one-upping each other. So, they collectively worked together and make it a surprise for these two.

Evening comes, stars starts to appear and they've returned from their slight detour. To their absolute surprise (and embarrassment), this beautiful landscape of freshly-picked flowers, delicately placed by their critter friends. In the midst of this landscape, a spot was reserved, weirdly enough for these two to lie down and gaze at the stars. So, they did and it was quiet. A comfortable silence as they lay down next to each other, not a thought of wanting to challenge who can make the most unforgettable proposal. Just the warmth of their body, snuggling close and whispering about anything and nothing. As they were chatting, they each felt a weight and looks at their empty hand, a small box. They forgot about it. Instead of making a grand gesture, they turn towards each other and opens the box they've bought. In these two boxes, each containing a long gold chain respectively, one have a ruby gem and the other have an emerald gem. They whisper their vows in this perfect evening. A silent sigh of finality from their critter friends that these two are done one-upping each other (or so they hope)

Lilja is the most honest out of these eight, always speaking the truth and not afraid of speaking her opinions *ahem*onRichtofen*ahem*

Michael is next, as his job requires him to tell everything to his comrades. But he's amazing at keeping his mouth shut under pressure, mostly around enemies. It's the only time this tall dude is quiet.

Amanda is well disciplined, and is like Michael when it comes to being under pressure/interrogation. She speaks her opinions and tells her team anything she has heard, being their ears and eyes.

Meredith is a decent liar, but she was raised to tell the truth and is disciplined due to her years in the military and secret services. But as a mother, it is difficult since some topics are safe to tell her daughters while others are negative.

Nancy is a good liar, and holds under pressure well, but she can and will tell the truth when she needs to. As a former POW, Nancy has grown accustomed to lying, to save herself and others.

Emilia is a pretty good liar, being an agent working with multiple secret services and being undercover. Emilia will be truthful when she needs to be, but this girl will lie to get her way and lie to protect those she holds close.

Erika is in the same boat with Emilia, although she lies more frequently than tells the truth. She will be mocking/taunting the truth around, especially when it comes to her comrades, but the truth will come out someday.

Evan is last on this list, despite being on the same boat with Erika and Emilia. This guy is a scarily great liar and uses it to his advantage, along with other things. Like, I have nothing else to say because this boy lies too much and it's both a blessing and a curse.

This is also for one half of the ask from @umbralaether (about home or place of origin) - hopefully this isn't cheating.

I'm not sure this fits the bill, but Mimble was brought up in a family who revered the history and culture of Amdapor (as opposed to sharing in the culture of Gridania or Ul'dah, both of which bordered the place he was born).

As his family are descended from the ruling Magocracy of Amdapor, this is my attempt at an outfit that might have been worn by an Amdapori noble at the height of the city state's power.

It's also the kind of outfit that Mimble would wear when attending very formal occasions or trying to assert an impression of power and majesty (which he has to try quite hard to achieve, being only two and a half feet tall).

Uncommon Questions for OCs and their creators: 12 & 14 for Astrel? (I love your design for Astrel! She’s so cool looking)

Going to answer all of these at once. 3. How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

Sleeping under the stars with Freeloader purring on her, I guess in a meditative silence. Her room has it's own built in loft thats like her nesting place. She doesn't sleep in a bed mind you, it's a nest of soft pillows and blankets.

12. How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?

She's flexible, and she got the reach. She's fineeeee

14. What animal do they fear most?

This is hard. The thing is it's less about fear, more about not liking animal(s) that suddenly moves y'know. Like cockroaches when they, in a split second suddenly moves. She just hates sudden move.

15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?

She speak things on the spot, depending on the situation she's in. She's really charismatic, unnervingly so (this is why BG3 Astrel is a bard and really nails it in of what I had in mind)

B) What inspired you to create them? Long story short, DM a mutual out of nowhere haushauhsa if they want to make OCs together because bored and it sounds fun (and it really is). Had a mind of making it modern fantasy, with a hint of folklore if that makes sense. From there, we really do be winging it, just back and forth talking. Astrel came to be when I saw some bird folks/harpies art and inspiration struck. Made her with touches of personal creativity and there she exists. [Shout out to @/sashthesloth, she's the said mutual that I DM out of nowhere 🫶]
