Little update ^^
Well, well, who'd've known, yours truly is reckless and got Covid "-.-
I blame Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and my constant love for going to concerts after such a long time in this godforsaken lockdown :)

Anyways, I'm isolated in my room now. I'm making this lil' update so I can tell you people: do take care of yourselves - but if you are in a risk group, take care of yourselves in double, please.
A year ago, my sister and my dad got Covid - they felt almost nothing. They just got really grumpy and locked in their rooms, waiting for the day of their sweet, sweet freedom. Apart from that, they felt only like a mild flu, nothing much.
As some of you know, I've an autoimmune liver disease - which puts me in risk group. I could barely get up yesterday - I slept the whole day, got up at 7 p.m, had fever the whole day and through the night, couldn't eat without feeling miserable and slept until 2 p.m today. My whole body hurts, my head also hurts really bad, I couldn't properly work on my artist tasks for the week, and I am so so so tired I think I'm gonna faint sometimes.
But worry not, I'm already feeling a little better today. I think the worst day was yesterday. Hopefully by next week I'll already be ok regarding this.
I'm just writing all this because seriously, we all react differently. I was so scared to get Covid and everyone kept telling me like "oh, it's ok, don't worry, if you get it you'll feel like a flu and in 2 days you're good" - I've been feeling like this for 4 days now. I'm really sick and miserable.
Point being: my reactions to this are VERY different than everyone else's and I'm not being too over the top when I'm still wearing masks and taking care of myself when going out.
Don't let anyone make you feel bad for taking care of your health too. It's better to look like a weirdo than being sick like this, trust me ;)
My mom, in the other hand, is taking relentless care of me and is the one single being in this household to seem not to get sick. I say she's like Highlander, nothing can touch her.
Seriously. The woman ate a dead oyster in her youth and only felt a little sick in a flight home. She is the toughest being I've ever seen in my whole life. She got an Extreme Unction from a priest who thought she was going to die when she was like 12 years old and, lo and behold, the woman persevered.
Greek half-immortal heroes know nothing compared to my mom.
I do think Eva is pretty much like her in that department, no demonic or human disease could touch her
All in all, everything is fine. I'll take this isolation time to draw like a mad-woman, be more serious when studying languages, learning to play the guitar properly and writing more stuff to you guys.
I'll keep you all posted! And remember TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES DESPITE WHAT THE WORLD THINKS OF IT!

Well, this weekend I took a hazardous trip to get my new car and bring Indie home.
Sunday, after totaling my jeep, I got home to find Indie in hypothermic shock. All of MY birds were fine, thankfully. I brought him in and warmed him up in increments overnight, but he couldn't go back out into the cold, and couldn't stay here if it was going to be cold, so I made the decision to bring him back to his home early. GRACIOUSLY, his actual owners said if I brought the hens I would have bred him to down, they'd do the breeding for me.
Thursday I rented a mid-size SUV. There was only one available whose trunk space laid flat, and when I went to leave with it, they sent me back and gave me a newly-arrived return, some Mazda that was an absolute NIGHTMARE of a car. I drove it home, packed for the weekend, and prepped the trunk space for Birds.
Friday morning, I was up at 5am taking care of some stuff and making sure I was awake enough to drive. I ousted Sark from bed around 7 and he helped me load Arcana, Eclipse, and Indie into the back of the car, and Aris and her two babies into the barn with Polaris. I set off for North Carolina, but with a MASSIVE snowstorm moving in over West Virginia, and snowstorms having plagued the north east, I would be taking an extended trip down- from Detroit area to Knoxville, TN, before going over to NC.
Almost 17 hours later, I got to Indie's home. We left the birds to sleep in the car since they were already cuddled up, and I went inside for a 5 hours nap.
Then it was up again, moving birds into their coop, and I was back on the road another hour to return my rental, an hour to get to my mom and dad's, a brief break there to hang out, and then!! an hour to the dealership to pick up my new Jeep. I had my previous one for 19 years, 300k miles on him, so this is... going to be an adjustment, but it seems like he will be fine. I have named him Sheet Cake. He is white outside, and tan inside, absolutely terrible colors, and smushed flat compared to my Liberty.
Went back to my parents' for the night, played Pokemon GO with the for a while (anyone wanna be my mom's friend? she needs more people for a quest), and zonked out around 9pm. And BACK UP around 7, so I could make the 12 hours drive back home yesterday. MUCH more pleasant ride, in the Jeep than it was in the Mazda. The lack of birds wasn't terrible, either.
Bug was ECSTATIC to see me, she got left behind with Sark. I snuck away like a thief in the night, so she woke up and I was just Gone. When I walked in the door she froze and stared at me for a long second and then lost her shit, throwing herself up on stuff and doing the excited flappy-wing duck down. I sat her up on her perch and she beeped and beeped and beeped as I gently scrubbed her face and neck. It's not like she has a hard life when I'm gone, Sark is here to hang out with, he gives her fresh food meals just like I do, he cuddles just like I do, but it's just not the Same.
Anyway, it's good to be home.
And now that I have a white Jeep... it's time to find some Jurassic Park decals for him.

Through Love And By Love (Pt. 19)
Summary: Twenty-Two years ago, Draco Malfoy used the imperius curse to slow Voldemort’s rise to power. No good deed goes unpunished. Warning: this series contains mature subject matter surrounding use of the imperius curse (dub-con), discussions of sexual assault, trauma and mental illness; reader discretion advised.

The wizengamont is buzzing, like a hive full of bees, when members of the Malfoy family begin pouring in. Draco surrenders himself. Narcissa and Lucius are there, Archer, Dixie and most of the Weasleys, Crabbe, Goyle, Pansy, Blaise. Hermione, Harry and Ron are also in attendance.
Rosanna is sat in the very front row of the observation deck, with Leo on one side and Arlo on the other. Each of their respective partners have joined them. Henry tries to lighten the mood, that’s what he always does.
Marko, like Arlo is more calculated, eyes flitting about the room. Taking note of the exits, incase the testimonies become too much for his girlfriend, his first priority is getting her out.
“Today we are gathered to review the details of a crime committed twenty-three years ago. Beginning on the night that Draco Malfoy tampered with the memories of Rosanna McVay and instructed her to leave Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, under the influence of the imperius curse. The accused then forced Rosanna McVay onto his estate and imprisoned her for over a year. During which time the victim was forced to engage in sexual intercourse, resulting in conception and full term gestation of a child.”

“It starts today,” Polaris says, simply.
James nods, very aware of her father’s trial. In fact, he’s using their Hogsmeade trip as an opportunity to distract her. Though she didn’t seem too interested in butterbeer, dragging him around to the back of the pub, to hide from their schoolmates.
“Leo and Arlo are going.” None of the school aged children get to go. “Vega is in shambles. She won’t see me, even if I’m occluding. Says it’ll be too much.”
“I’m sorry.” James breathes, “it’s a pity you can’t just give each other a bit of each. The legillimacy and the occlumency. Then it wouldn’t be so…much all the time.”
“It’s because I’m like him, you know, my dad.” Their talents are not taught, they were born with them.
“There’s worse things to be, Polaris.”
“I know.”
“Is that why you won’t let anyone close to you?”
“You’re close to me.” Polaris points out, hitting him with her icy gaze.
“I want to get closer.”
“That’s how it’ll be, if we get closer. You realize that, don’t you? I’ll be just like him, once I’m in that’s it. Even if you didn’t want me anymore, I’d still want you. I’d be jealous and possessive, I’d be-”
“You’re not gonna become a different person.” James knows how she is, all of the best and worst things about her. “You’ll still be you.”
Polaris blinks at him, slowly.
“In a few months, we graduate. I want to play quidditch for the Ballycastle Bats, there’s been a couple scouts out to see me already. Come with me, Polaris. We can see the world together, we can go wherever you want. I’ll be with you and no one else.” James promises, taking her face in his hands.
“Why?” She covers his fingers with her own.
“I love you, nitwit. Have I not made myself perfectly clear?”
“But why?” Her blue eyes are comically large.
“Dunno really, maybe it’s your stupid hair,” he tugs at it, the same way he has since they were children. “You’re snippy and moody and don’t like to share. But more than that, you’re a laugh and good listener and you think things through. You always have a plan, which is well suited for me because I’m an idiot.”
Polaris bites back a grin as she rolls her eyes, “an impulsive idiot.”
“Exactly!” He agrees, “you’re the one who should be contemplating whether or not you really want to be stuck with me, not the other way around. You’re brilliant. I’m just James.”
“Just James.” Polaris presses her lips into a firm line. He is so much more than that.
Last names are heavy.
Potter.
Malfoy.
Sometimes it’s nice to shuck them off. “Come with me and we don’t have to settle. I won’t ask you to marry me, we don’t need to have kids. We’ll just be together and do whatever the hell we want.”
Polaris sighs, surely it can’t be that simple.
“I’ll love you forever.” James brushes his knuckles over her cheek.
“I don’t know what to say.” She admits, her chest is painfully tight.
“Say yes, Polaris. You’re not too much for me, you’re exactly what I want.”
“I love you.” The words are like lead on her tongue.
“See, that wasn’t so terrible, now was it?”
Polaris shakes her head.
“Now we’ll need to practice, so you can say it without looking peaky.”
“Shut up.” She snogs him then, behind the little Hogsmeade pub.

“Paint us a picture of what your time at Malfoy Manor looked like during the war.” The councilor instructs.
Rosanna swallows hard, all eyes are on her now; with pity, guilt, distaste, even fear. She finds Draco, his stare is raw, possessive; as if he’d sooner serve a life sentence in Azkaban than to watch her relive it. “I was well cared for. Draco was responsible for most interactions between us and Voldemort. He trusted Draco more than he trusted me.”
“And when Draco was instructed to…perform his duty to the dark lord, what did you do then?”
Rosanna lowers her gaze. “What we had to.”
“At any point were you restrained, during these sessions?”
“No.” Never, Draco wouldn’t have been able to…
“Where were your hands?”
Are you comfortable with your arms there?
“Beside my head.” Against lush pillows and a thousand thread count sheets.
“Where were Mr. Malfoy’s hands?”
“Holding mine.”
“He was pinning you down?”
“No.” Rosanna sighs, “I was able to move.”
“Yet you didn’t.”
“Correct.”
“Were you instructed not to move?”
Draco looks like he might be sick.
“No.”
“How much control would you say you had over your own actions, at this time?”
Rosanna pauses, choosing her next words carefully. “Eventually, I broke free from the imperius curse. I think at any point, I could’ve stopped him but I didn’t. We agreed to do whatever it took to stop Voldemort, or at least slow him down.
Draco never hurt me, he never restrained me, forced himself on me or ordered me to be still. It was not the horrendous act some people believe it to be. I asked him to use the imperius curse. I knew what it meant. I knew how much I was asking. It worked, we have all the evidence necessary to prove that.
I don’t regret aiding the war efforts, but Draco is still facing consequences for my decision, and for that I will always be sorry.”

There’s a crunch of ice, snapping beneath the sole of a shoe. James takes a step back from his…Polaris, thinking they’ve been caught, snogging behind the pub.
“Polaris?”
Polaris turns toward the voice. It’s not a prefect, or a professor. “Vega?”
“I’m sorry for what I said.” Vega picks at her nails, anxiously. “It was a terrible thing to say, that I wouldn’t see you. You’re my sister, of course I’ll see you.”
Arlene is there too, James realizes, keeping her distance. Clearly for emotional support.
“It’s alright, I know it’s a lot for you. Especially now.” Polaris forgives her, she always forgives her.
“You’re my sister,” Vega repeats.
Polaris trudges over through the snow, tossing both arms around her twin.
“So we’re chopped liver, huh?” James’ prods Arlene, lightly with his shoulder.
“Yes and no.” The girl replies, the ghost of a smile playing at her lips.

Draco hasn’t thought about those first few months of Rosanna’s pregnancy with Leo. Not voluntarily, not in years. But the penesive brings it all back. How the dark lord ruined it. His first time feeling Leo move, making the idea of her so very real; tainted. Ruined. Robbed of the joy that little girl would bring him. Robbed of the look on Rosanna’s face when she felt their baby kick. He couldn’t escape it, he was always in that room.
Now Leo can see it too. A courtroom full of strangers can see it. Draco loves Leo. He’s always loved Leo. But it had been different with her and he spent the rest of his life trying to fix it. To somehow make it up to her. His perfect little girl, his first born child.
Leo is not surprised by these memories, her father was always at war with the idea of her. Not with her as a person, but the concept that her existence was in some way detrimental to her mother and that it was his fault.
Her father is divided into parts. The world unrelated to Rosanna exists somewhere far from him. With her at the forefront, in screaming color. Then comes their children, a place which touches Rosanna, but separate.
Once removed is her friends and family, his job at the ministry, all of the things she cares about.
His actions are not that of a callus or cold man who hated his unborn child. Rather of an eighteen year old boy, who did nothing but protect his child. It was not a lack of love which fueled his lack of attachment, it was fear.
Leo hopes that one day her father can make peace with it.

"This case has been incredibly difficult to navigate. The testimony we’ve heard, is unprecedented by any other." The speaker for the wizengamont announces. "We have considered: Draco Malfoy's age at the time of his actions, his determination to aid in the downfall of Voldemort, and the unwillingness of the only surviving victim to press charges. The members of this council hereby find Draco Malfoy guilty.”
“That’s alright, darling.” Narcissa leans down to her daughter-in-law. “We’ll file an appeal and-”
Rosanna continues staring, unblinking at her husband, communicating without words as the room erupts into hushed whispers.
Arlo reaches to the row behind them for her grandfather. “We’ll fix this, there has to be a way?”
Lucius says nothing, clenching his jaw as he pats her outstretched hand.
“He is sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment, and ordered to pay one hundred thousand gallons in damages, to Rosanna Malfoy, every calendar year for the rest of his natural life.”
“They can’t do that.” Leo protests. More than anything she wants to run to her father and tell him that it isn’t his fault. That she doesn’t think any less of him, but she won’t shout it in front of a room full of people.
“This is outrageous!” Lucius shoots up out of his seat.
The council woman narrows her eyes. “With the minister’s approval, we are willing to convert his years as an auror into time served. Draco Malfoy completed his sentence as of last June. Finally, we hearby declare that Draco Malfoy will receive two hundred thousand gallons per calendar year, in reparations for the gross mishandling of his case files and for efforts made to aid the order in the second wizarding war.”
Draco Malfoy is a free man.

Travel Blog Anime Festival Kassel! - Part 1
27.-28. October 2023
The last convention for me this year, read further for my impression of this event which was held in Kassel for the first time, me being super chaotic, enjoying things and attending the cosplay competition.
And yes I was totally going as past!Allen the times I was "not" in costume as my glasses are round too and I had to put on the shirt/waistcoat anyways. I just HC him as an explorer when he goes to places, its my kind of having silly little fandom moments. But now to the travel blog.
Friday, Travel & Coming 'home'
Travel day. I started a bit chaotic from home and later than planned but rain was forecasted the whole day and a serious hiking day was not really possible. I noticed I forgot my phone charger as I was already out and my first mission was to buy a replacement. As I arrived in Kassel I had to take a reroute as there was so much traffic but I know the city and its corners it was fine to me. All the familar places and ... I just felt home. For 19 years my favorite convention was held in Kassel until it moved to Wiesbaden this year and I was completely devastated how they handled it and left Kassel crying last year and I am just so SO happy to be able to return.
I quickly checked into the Hotel and went to the convention hall and just the feeling of seeing it again made me so content, even with the rain, the cold weather, the phone charger etc. AND the fact the Con contacted me that my script for the Contest has to be changed as there was some equipment different.
I went through the park and was just thriving. Then into the city checking a few places, actually got a charger after asking the sales manager of a itty bitty corner store if they have some - i was super proud I did that, past-me would have given up and just searched for a big electronic store to drive to to avoid talking to people.
As I walked back to the hall I came across a very fancy bakery/café I had discovered last year and they sold halloween themed confectonary again and ... this time I actually bought some. I dared to go in there and bought two petit fours and even as the seller asked me something twice I was just casually replying I am .. so proud. You know I suffer from severe social anxiety and a situation like this would have been enough to break me for a whole weekend, on top with the charger thing. But I was managing well. It was quite late then as I got back to the hall but still decided to ask if I could get my ticket for the next two days already to avoid waiting. Another step further for me, usually I would have chickened out. Everyone there was very darling I am looking forward on how they organize the actual convention days.
Back in the hotel I had (very late) dinner, but I was just mentally in such a good place that it didn't mess with my head.
Saturday - 28. October - Contest day
Slept okay for the fact I usually sleep bed when not home, super excited for the day. But took it slow, went through my script a few times (finally after not doing so for the last days) to recall it.
Then headed out to Kassel to fetch a few things, I like to give myself small tasks to have something to do when I am alone. Like just getting some snacks.
After returning to my car I started painting... my make up. I actually avoid doing a lot of make up for Allen as my eyes hate it and I don't think he is a make up type but as it was for the contest I wanted to upgrade everything a little bit.
It was starting to rain again and ... someone please remind me more often that the first Uniform has a HOOD I can use. I ... will come back to that later.
After a bit of waiting time due bag control I finally was able to enter the hall. It felt again like home but also different. When you came in you had several vendors, Manga, Merch, some artists inbetween. Even a tattoo artist?! And like at the Polaris you had several vendors of dried fruit... ehm.. okay? Like I am always for more healthy options aside the vendors selling tons of asian candies and ramen.
What I really liked about the structure they had for the hall is that they actually used the hallways better than the other con, less "lost" space. Yes they have a smaller audience but it seemed so much smarter to me to use the hallways for artists instead of putting them into super small rooms with no space to move in.
For the vendors and all there was .. lots of Genshin Impact again and Demon Slayer I think? I am a bit spoiled by the last cons especially the bookfair and the polaris in regards of a great diversity of artists, this was alright I guess. Not much for me to buy.
What was interesting is that the city had rented the hall to another convention but for ... doctors. Weird, but worked. As I got recognized as Allen later on I was able to talk with the two and one told me a few interesting things about the Con that moved to Wiesbaden and some facts that the Anime Festival will be bigger next year. I got encouraged to voice my opinion more often by them, as all they heard was only positive about the other Con (they didn't attend as well... reasons).
Then .. the contest. I was quite nervous, got in my snacks and some lunch before I went to prejudging. Was able to chat with the other attendees during the wait and was quite a lil hyper bunny as it was my turn. I have to say the judges were super darling about everything. They were all cosplayers, some super expierenced and one even a super huge name here. I got complimented for my make up (which I adjusted a bit more after lunch) to try to get my lashes white and all. That I made pockets, that the uniform has a lining, that the pattern was selfmade and the functional buttons. etc.
We were supposed to meet up 30 mins later, I waited with No. 6 (I was No 4) and got a bubble tea because my anxious mind needed something to do and I was super thirsty. I downed it so fast they went "WAIT HOW". Haha. I am used to drink a lot.
After it we were brought to the backstage and it seemed to take forever until it was my turn. No 3 before my was in a wheelchair and the crew did a great job to help her getting up the stage and stairs. And with the applause I was sure they would get the 1st rank. They did a performance as Sheego from Kim Possible.
My turn was. I walked, babbled my text, actually looked at the audience and noticed it was indeed THE MOST BIGGEST STAGE they have and the whole room was full of people, I had to improvise a bit as I was not able to stuff everything into Tim but I managed well.
I was super proud and watched the rest of the contest in the audience (they had seats reserved for us). Overall it was 10 performances. The majority was voice clips/moving to them, or just music and doing a dance/pose.
Mine was actually a small sketch that was Allen looking out for Timcampy, finding and scolding him for flying away. All during the search for Cross. Then I asked the audience if they had seen the master and showed my drawing of him. Then I scolded Tim for not getting my stuff back in as I was handling too many things at once. Haha.
The ranking later on was well, place 3 was a huge ass Spamalot/Monty Python and the Holy Grail Group and I was sure they will be ranked. 2nd was the Sheego, whom I had seen on 1. And 1 was a Kiki (Kiki's delivery service), I found hers rather boring to be honest as it was just an english voice clip that didn't fit the outfit or any acting at all, but well, Ghibli and cutesty bonus I guess. I would have seen others ranked.
Later on I went to pick up where I got ranked but ... in fact the voting system was hacked/there were annormalities and therefore there was no ranking other than the main 3.
I talked with some other of the contestants about the results and all were quite baffled. The two started last even said the results were not into their favor anyways as the moderators procrastinated 5 minutes to get them on stage and the majority indeed already had voted.
One last thing here: I am amazed by the positive words I got, that the performance was good and that you couldn't tell that it was my first time joining a contest, that I should do it more often. This really means a lot to me.
The rest of the day was me strolling through the halls & park again, sometimes in the park too. But the weather was not that good, it was raining a lot. I was torn about getting a maple themed bowl but as I got to really buying it it was sold out, so I got the chestnut kitkats I had eyes all the time.
I noticed I was super done for the day, there were several concerts left but I was just feeling the day and the snacks weren't holding me longer. But it was pouring... and the food vendors were outside.
After another 30 minutes I remembered I HAVE A HOOD and quickly went to the car to scrub the make up off my face and get some cotton pads from the store along with something to go with my instant noodles + tofu I had brought along. I wanted to eat in peace and not cramped outside in the rain.
The day ended for me in the hotel, tired, exhausted but quite well. What annoyed me though was that there was an event with a live band in the hotel. Good bye sleep.
Ending the day with food in the hotel, my little haul from stores and the fact the make up refused to get off. I would have some "fun" the coming days with that.

My Ranking of Storm's Costumes (1/2)
i woke up, chose violence, and decided to rank all of ororo monroe's costumes based entirely on my opinions. i am not including casual clothing, but i will be including alternate versions of storm. this is purly my opinions, and I dont mean any disrespect to the designers of these costumes.
#36: Schoolgirl Storm
As much as I love Emma Frost, I have no idea why she put Storm in this. While it does fit with her iconic color scheme, so many elements feel out of place, like the Xs under the knees, or the platform boots.
#35: Gray Storm
Gray and...red? One of my big problems with a lot of Storm's later costumes is making red one of her central characters. I am a firm believer that red should stay as one of Storm's accent colors, similar to how it was used on her original costume. But this much red? And this weird shade of gray?
#34: Trainee Storm
It's just the classic X-Uniform, but on Storm. I hate the two little belts on her right leg.
#33: Age of Apocalypse Storm
While I don't think that this costume is amazing, I am clouded by nostalgia for AoA. The boots and eye tattoo are great though.
#32: Purple Bodysuit Storm
I like purple. It's my favorite color. But this feels... wrong on Storm? The random pop of red on the cape really takes me out, and the metal detailing seems like something that would work better on one of Polaris's costumes (which would be SO COOL.)
#31: Ultimate Storm
I think this is fine, but the low ponytail and thigh cutouts feel out of place. There is an entry later on in the list (spoiler: it's number one) that does this ensemble much better.
#30: Midnight Suns Storm
It's alright, changing Storm to fit more with the Midnight Suns aesthetic. Eh.
#29: Anime Storm
There is just a little too much on her outfit, and the purple lipstick seems out of place, but I am obsessed with her cape. Her hair is giving The Last Stand, which pains me.
#28: The Twelve Storm
The white belt puts weird emphasis on her hip area, and her silhouette just makes me think of footie pajamas.
#27: X-Tinction Agenda Storm
I don't like what the outfit symbolizes, but she just pulls off the look so well.
#26: Long Ass Hair Storm
Her hair is SO LONG and SO FLOWY. I like the outfit as a whole, but the strappy bits on the cape and the white lining the belt and neck throws me off.
#25: X-Treme Storm
Again, it's a lot of red, but the placement of yellow is great. I have a lot of nostalgia for this era, which most likely clouds my judgement.
#24: Pheonix Storm
This is from What If, and is such a cool look for Storm. My biggest problem is how the Phoenix logo is only used on her crown, and nowhere else on her look.
#23: Gold Storm
But what if she had long sleeves and no detailing?
#22: Inhumans VS X-Men Storm
Love the look, hate the belt. Tan? TAN? I think the look could have been slightly improved by adding a little black to her pants.
#21: Miniseries Storm
I think i would enjoy this look if her hair was in a ponytail, with the two long strands coming out of the front. I also think that the purple here works much better than #32, using it as an accent that draws your eye to her limbs.
#20: Stormcaster Storm
The look feels more classic Thor than storm has ever looked, and I love it so much. The one thing I don't like is the gloves she wears, but that is a small gripe.
#19: Miniseries Storm (Longer Hair)
The same as two above this, but with longer hair. The look works so well without the cape, and Storm's crown brings any look together.
#18: Outback Storm (Black Version)
This feels like quintessential Storm, with a simple black and yellow color scheme. The black gloves on top of a black bodysuit should feel like a bit much, but I just love it.
#17: Outback Storm (White Version)
Two words: gender envy. The placement of the yellow, the black lining of the cape, everything is AMAZING. I prefer this version over the all black version purely due to Storm's amazing hair.
#16: Sins of Sinister Storm
I love how this look alludes so much to Magneto, and the gladiator style fits storm so well. I am a huge fan of her cape, with it's white lining and dark exterior. The small detail of giving her classic lightning earrings a new paint job just makes me so happy.
#15: Evolution Storm
While I know that heels may not be practical, but I think it only shows how powerful she is - she's kicking ass while wearing giant heels. I have so much love for evolution, and as previously stated, I am a big fan of bright cape linings.
#14: Alpha Team Storm
THIS. IS. THE. BEST. HER. CROWN. HAS. EVER. LOOKED. The baggy thigh highs and yellow lining on the leotard is great.
#13: Amalgam Storm
While it is just her wearing Wonder Woman's outfit, that's not necessarily a bad thing. She just looks cool.
#12: Early Nineties Storm
Is it black? Is it white? Is it just the dress meme? Is it iconic? Was she my lesbian awakening?
YES.
#11: Blue Bloodstorm
I love Bloodstorm so much, and the black and blue detailing over the dark gray outfit really brings the whole look together. The use of asymmetry is really clever, with the single earring and lopsided belt.
#10: Hellfire Gala Storm
The CAPE. The HAIR. The EARRING LIGHTING THINGIE. My favorite detail is the big ass shoulder pads, giving her a much more commanding presence that is fitting for the voice of Sol.
#9: Pyramid X Storm
While this look has never appeared in comics, I just think the whole design is so different for Storm and so eerie. The outfit is just a little bit different enough from her classic look to where she feels a little scary, which fits perfectly with this character.
#8: Goddess of Thunder Storm
Why aren't there more X-Men and Thor crossovers? While I don't always like Storm in blue, this beautiful cerulean cape looks amazing. The giant gloves, boots, and shoulder pads really emphasize parts of her body.
#7: Age of X-Man Storm
I don't know enough about Kenyan clothing to say if this is accurate, but the whole outfit just makes me wonder why we haven't seen Storm in more orange shades. I love her ballet flats, and her cape pairs so well with the colors of her dress.

139,645 (damn that's more than i expected)

at the moment it's tennis and cycling rpf, with other sports-adjacent things sprinkled in
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
my most kudosed fic was hit by the bot, but the next five are grass stains when you kneel (tennis), sunflower white (cycling), fly to live (check, please), free pistachio ice cream (tennis) and polaris (cycling)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
yes! just because i always want to talk more and responding to comments / leaving comments has made me some of my best fandom friends
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
there's a few but it has to be summer seemed to last forever because what is angstier than 34 days!jackparse ?

well i like hopeful more than happy endings but the end of whatever a moon has always meant is quite cute

i don't really do all time favourites, especially not for shipping in fic. in my view a ship is a tool to tell a story or to convey a theme, so i like whatever allows me to do that

my cricket series ... i try not to give up on things but it's been a while.
16. What are your writing strengths?
i have gotten really good at body language and imagery which is something i practice a lot. i'm also good enough at grammar to break he rules on purpose now
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
i don't sit down and just write often enough, and if something is frustrating me i tend to write it in a rush and not give it the attention it deserves (the last couple scenes of firefly jars are s perfect example, although i am proud of that fic as a whole)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
i do it occasionally. i like to do it when it matters that it's in another language, like if the pov character doesn't understand it or a character making an effort to speak that language is a big deal. i don't include translations, and sometimes don't even italicize.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
it's got to be route 66. my love, my life, my everything. i will update soon! ish. whenever my brain cooperates with me. of my recent fics i also really like your hand on my heart but that's a bit darker.

Ah.... the innocence of youth....
William David McDougal, Florida inmate V71523, born 2003, incarceration intake March 2023 at age 19, scheduled for release September 2024
Burglary Unoccupied Structure, Grand Theft, Grand Theft Motor Vehicle, Minor in Possession of a Firearm
In October 2020, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 16-year-old in connection with a stolen ATV and UTV, which were later used to drive over rows of soon-to-be strawberries at a local farm.
Deputies responded to an undisclosed residence on Bethlehem Road in Dover in reference to a stolen ATV. They discovered tire tracks at a nearby strawberry field, leading out to the road. The suspect fled south on Bethlehem Road. A UTV was also reported stolen that same day from a home on Sydney Washer Road in Dover. The suspect later took both the stolen ATV and UTV to vandalize Astin Farms, located at 3610 Holloway Road in Plant City. They drove through rows of what would be strawberries in the coming months, causing approximately $3,000 worth of damage.
Deputies were able to locate the stolen ATV at another residence on Calhoun Road in Plant City. William McDougal, 16, was inside the home and confessed to stealing the vehicles. He also admitted to driving into Astin Farms. Deputies are working leads to identify and locate at least two other suspects at this time.
“Through investigative measures and help from technology, our deputies were able to make a quick arrest on this suspect,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This individual not only stole from innocent victims, but he also put the livelihoods of farmers in jeopardy for his selfish actions. October is a critical month for strawberry farmers who are just putting seeds in the ground for harvest later this year and into next year.”
This is not McDougal’s first run-in with law enforcement. On June 26, 2020, William McDougal, 16, forced entry into Collier’s Mower Repair, located at 1416 Florida Avenue in Seffner. There, he removed cash from the register and the DVR used for surveillance video, which together, was an estimated value of $390.00.
About a month later, on July 27, at approximately 2:00 a.m. McDougal and an unidentified suspect unlawfully entered the victim’s detached barn door in Dover. They removed three dirt bikes and two chain saws, valued at approximately $4,500.00. The victim caught the duo in the act, and McDougal and his accomplice fled from the scene.
Later that morning, McDougal forced entry into Parkesdale Farms, located at 3914 Tanner Road in Dover. He, along with an unidentified suspect, covered their faces in an effort to conceal their identities with jackets from inside the venue, broke a surveillance camera and stole a John Deere Gator HPX ATV. The vehicle is valued at approximately $4,000.00. Surveillance video of the incident can be viewed here.
Then, during the early morning hours of July 29, McDougal entered a closed barn in Dover. He took three dirt bikes, lawn equipment, tools and a mountain bike. The total value of the items stolen was an estimated $7,850.00.
During the overnight hours of July 29-30, McDougal and an unidentified suspect took a Yamaha YZF R3, valued at $10,000.00 from the victim’s driveway in Seffner. In an effort to start it, the duo damaged the ignition.
McDougal’s last stop on his burglary spree was on July 30, where he dismantled the Seffner property’s surrounding privacy fence and gain access to the victim’s Polaris ATV. Using a screwdriver, McDougal was able to start the ignition and take the estimated $12,000.00 vehicle. He damaged the ignition on that ATV and another, but was unable to start the latter.
After a number of legal proceedings and other actions, McDougal was formally convicted and sentenced on February 8, 2023, more than 2 years had passed from the initial crimes.
In Florida, an ATV or MTV is considered for purposes of law to be a "motor vehicle" -- no different than a Ferrari.

(quotes i like from your WIP 2/4) "However, she also stops to look into the bag deeper, foolishly expecting to find something new. Instead, she only sighs, 'Still no food.'" this is so human... it's so human nature to check and double-check the cupboard or fridge multiple times even though no one could've added food :'| but it can also be so awesome when you think there'll be nothing there but you actually simply missed it the first time... so thorough, polaris, i understand you 🥲 i like how this + polaris having not given up on fishing that easily hint toward her having a hopeful personality!
you used lots of strong, emotionally evocative verbs, like "trudges forward" (and later, "Escaping this ordeal, the lone girl abandons any further attempt at fishing," "She whines aloud," "pursuing the promise of a village" and "a glimmer of determination returns to her stride"), and i love how polaris's hunger is something you keep revisting, bc while she can distract herself from it for a bit by humming, and while she gets distracted by her panic for a bit, the reader can't forget that she's still hungry. which is great!!!! it's putting us in her shoes. she can't forget she's still hungry. after the failed fishing attempt, she also has Got To notice her clothes got wet, and she's cold now too T~T
YEA!!!! thats a good analogy w the fridge. and polaris would absolutely be the kinda person who opens the fridge 20 times expecting there to suddenly be food she wants in there, even though there wasnt the previous 19 times.
i think i like being dramatic with all those verbs i cant say it was a super CONSCIOUS choice other than "this feels right" and i guess feels is the keyword. plus shes really getting her ass kicked by these woods rn so its going to be a lot
but i did try to make sure the hunger was a constant! the fact that shes hungry is genuinely important later on because it affects her stamina and mood. and it also sucks because shes aware of it! but she does eat eventually so dont worry 👍 this is just her no good awful very bad day
