If they ever make a Metroid movie, they need to do what The Super Mario Bros. Movie did and make a ton of references to other Nintendo works. BUT, only the ones also set in outer space, or special guest appearances of people canonically FROM space.
Seriously, I want Samus to walk through a space port and have to watch not to step on tiny people from the Planet Hocotate.
I want her to look through a list of wanted criminals and among them are guys like Tatanga, Pico or the Aurum.
Footage from a “Space war” taking place in the Lylat System being played on television.
C’mon, we neeeeed it!

We certainly didn’t cast Harry for a tag... There are more stories to be told with that character. He’s fascinating. He has a really interesting connection with Thanos; they’re half-brothers and share the same father. He has an interesting power set. He’s a complicated character, but a really fun character. And I think… having met Harry Styles, he is as charming as you want him to be. And I think there’s no limit to how good that character’s going to be once we get to bring him back.

with how successful The Super Mario Bros movie is doing, if Star Fox gets a movie. Who do you think would voice Fox Mccloud?
Depends, if they do a movie that is straight up Starfox 64 or something leading up to it, someone probably youthful sounding to help the character sound more fresh faced picking up James’ mantle as the leader of Starfox.
That in mind, Cole Sprouse or Finn Wolfhard (or bonus points, his brother who is a professional VA, Nick)

Which animation companies, are the best choices for, animated movies for
Kirby
Captain Falcon
Samus
Ness and Lucas
Fox and Falco
Olimar
Splatoon
Link & Zelda
Idk why but Pixar feels like it would do a good job with Kirby. With feel good movies like Up or Inside out, a wholesome yet HEARTWRENCHING story for a Kirby film would be in Pixar's hands (if you know the lore, then you understand)
I havent played any Falcon or Metroid games to know, but perhaps libe actions by Universal Studios would fit (cant guarantee a good film lol)
For the Mother games, Sony. No doubt.
Starfox is HARD....perhaps Warner Brothers...particularly whoever worked on Happy Feet and Guardians of Gahoole. Two gorgeous films btw. Perhaps Laika instead...A stop motion film in SPACE would be awesome to see.
Pikmin WOULD GO WONDERFULLY with Cartoon Saloon. Have you SEEN their films??? Pikmin would DEFINITELY fit their aesthetic!
SPLATOON OMG I CAN TOTALLY SEE DREAMWORKS OR ILLUMINATION DOING THAT. SPLATOON ESPECIALLY WOULD WORK IN ILLUMINATION'S SENSE OF HUMOUR. AAAA
As for the Zelda games. This is too obvious. Studio Ghibli or Studio Ponoc. No questions asked. After all, Princess Mononoke is probably the inspiration for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

EDIT: Gah, my comic knowledge wasn’t with me on this. I forgot that Starfox and She-Hulk have a controversial history together. That was my brain thinking it’d be kinda funny putting Harry Styles and Tatiana Maslany together. My bad y’all, feel free to ignore that slot.

Harry Styles' MCU debut as Starfox in Eternals' post-credits scene led many to wonder if it was simply for fan service, but a new update from one of Marvel Studios' producers offered a promising future for the character.
The aforementioned post-credits scene saw Styles' Eros and Pip the Troll arriving in the spaceship of Thena, Makkari, and Druig to offer their help in finding the rest of the Eternals that Arishem took at the end of the movie.
Starfox's MCU return is one of the biggest question marks of the franchise, and the hopes have dwindled after a discouraging sequel update from Barry Keoghan.
Despite that, a reassuring development about Starfox's MCU return emerged.
Speaking as a guest in Deadline's Crew Call Podcast, Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore was asked if Harry Styles' Starfox debut wasn't "just a stunt."
Moore responded by saying, "no," saying they didn't cast the former One Direction member "for a tag:"
“No, we certainly didn’t cast Harry for a tag. I mean, again– And a character [that] maybe I have too much affection for, ’cause he’s had some problematic runs in publishing, but... ”
When Moore mentioned that Starfox had some problematic runs in publishing, Deadline pointed out that the question was brought up due to the movie.
Moore continued by sharing that Eternals director Chloé Zhao was the one responsible for bringing Styles into the fold:
D’Alessandro: “That was your film, Eternals. That’s why I brought it up.”
Moore: “It was. Yeah, no, and Chloé [Zhao] is a giant Harry Styles fan and… I’d always pitch like, ‘Eros, he’s really cool.’ And she’s like, ‘It’s Harry Styles.’ And I was like, ‘Are you sure?’ And she was obsessed, and chased him down, and got him into the movie."
The MCU producer then reassured that "there are more stories to be told" with Starfox, noting his "really interesting connection" with Thanos.
Moore also teased that "there's no limit" to how good Starfox will be in his return:
"But there are more stories to be told with that character. He’s fascinating. He has a really interesting connection with Thanos; they’re half-brothers and share the same father. He has an interesting power set. He’s a complicated character, but a really fun character. And I think… having met Harry Styles, he is as charming as you want him to be. And I think there’s no limit to how good that character’s going to be once we get to bring him back.”
It is unknown when Starfox will return, but in a past interview, Styles mentioned that he "[doesn't] imagine [he'd] do a movie for a while," joking how "it'd be funny if [Eternals] was it" for his MCU debut.
The actor also admitted how “[he] think[s] there’ll be a time again when [he’ll] crave it,” but that he’s currently focused on his music career at this stage.
Still, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased that Styles will have a role to play at some point in the franchise's future, even using the word "exciting:"
"Yes, the adventures of Eros and Pip is something that’s very exciting for us."
When Will Harry Styles' Starfox Return?
Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore's latest reassuring comments indicate that there is indeed a plan to bring Harry Styles' Starfox back into the MCU. This should ease the worries of many fans, especially after Ms. Marvel actress Iman Vellani felt "weird" about the actor's debut.
Adapting Starfox's story into the MCU is not an easy feat. Jim Starlin, the character's creator, even admitted that he “[has] no idea” how the MCU will handle the character, seeing as he’s a “sociopath” and “sexual predator.”
Still, Marvel Studios' expertise in handling complex stories amid a shared universe setup is poised to be more than enough to handle a complicated character like Starfox.
As for when Starfox will return, the long-rumored Eternals sequel is the best bet. Although a past rumor revealed that a solo Disney+ project could be in the cards for Starfox, it remains to be seen if it will come to fruition.
However, Pip the Troll actor Patton Oswalt offered optimism about a Starfox/Pip project, noting that Marvel's projects about lesser-known characters always seem to "end up kind of really blossoming."
Whatever the case, the future is bright for Harry Styles' Starfox.

The MCU has fallen. Millions must tie-in.
My current conspiracy theory is that Marvel keeps introducing straight white male characters in the stingers of their shows and movies--Skaar, Starfox, Black Knight, Hercules--not because they intend to use them ever, but just to throw off suspicions that they’re not-so-slowly retiring every existing straightXwhiteXmale and replacing them with women or minorities.
You are never going to see Skaar get his own project or even get to play sidekick, he is entirely there to disguise the fact that Marvel is replacing Hulk with She-Hulk.
Just ask yourself: which is more likely, me being right or Marvel seriously intending to use the character of Starfox as played by Harry Styles?
Also ask yourself why we’ve gotten shows centered around Echo, Agatha Harkness, and Ironheart... not exactly the cream of the crop... but nothing with a white guy in the lead besides Loki (which immediately retcons him to be a genderqueer bisexual kqeen).

So...these headcanons are more for my enjoyment than anyone else’s. I just LOVE superhero comics so much and wanted to combine my two interests. Also, these headcanons have nothing to do with any movie/show adaptations. Just comic books. Sorry if you don’t recognize some of the characters. Like I said, this list is extremely self-indulgent.
Favorite Superheroes (and a couple villains):
Optimus- He connects with heroes who do right even at great personal cost. Therefore, Spider-Man is his absolute favorite. The line “With great power there must also come great responsibility” resonates deeply with him. Like Peter, he knows he can never turn his back on those that rely on him, even when the weight of his responsibility threatens to crush him. Peter fights to remain compassionate, something Optimus - though he would never admit it - also struggles with. Reading about someone who resists his darker impulses and chooses to do good inspires him to continue to do the same.
Ratchet- Does Alfred Pennyworth count as a superhero? Probably not, but Ratchet doesn’t care. As someone who has to remain at the base, wait to see whether his companions make it home safe, and prepare for if they don’t, Ratchet can deeply sympathize with Alfred. Also, Alfred is an exceptional fighter whose skills - like Ratchet’s - often go unacknowledged, so Ratchet absolutely loves it whenever Alfred cuts loose.
Arcee- She’s an X-Men gal through and through and Storm is her favorite. Storm’s got a lot of pent up rage and Arcee admires how she embraces it instead of pushing it away. The 80s run where Storm changes her look to match how she’s changed inside is by far Arcee’s favorite comic storyline.
Bumblebee- He sees himself in the New Teen Titans hero Jericho. Both of them had their voices violently taken away and both chose to remain kind and compassionate despite this. Jericho reminds Bee to stay true to who he is whenever darker emotions cloud his head. Also, sign language representation always makes him happy (even when it’s not always accurate).
Bulkhead- The Thing - from the Fantastic Four - is his comfort character, for sure. Like Ben, Bulkhead’s not particularly bright and often doesn’t think things through; however, they are both incredibly loyal, and Bulkhead finds reassurance in seeing his own strengths in Ben.
Megatron- Thanos. He can get behind a character who started as a timid intellectual and went on to conquer worlds. Also, Thanos’s obsession with Lady Death and her disfavor of him hits close to home…
Starscream- Classic Loki! Of course he loves a character who schemes and backstabs at every turn. However, he is also fond of the modern Loki who constantly strives to prove himself as good (this version is the result of a reincarnation of the original). He doesn’t like thinking about why the newer Loki resonates with him so much; he just enjoys the comics and leaves it at that.
Knock Out- First off, human Knock Out is literally modern Starfox. I’m putting a picture under the cut so those not in the know can see the glory with their own eyes. Knock Out would definitely admire a hero that’s just like him. Other than Starfox, he enjoys suave, dashing heroes like Iron Man and Nightcrawler (he refuses to acknowledge their flaws).
Breakdown- The Incredible Hulk; he’s the strongest there is, after all, and Breakdown can relate to letting his anger get the better of him.
Soundwave- Like him, Cassandra Cain - or Batgirl - is a silent, mysterious, and imposing figure. They are also both highly capable individuals who tend to operate in the background. Like Cass, Soundwave finds it difficult to express himself. Seeing her triumphs and tribulations offers him a sense of comfort on an unconscious level.
Shockwave- Who else could be his favorite but the intelligent and logical Mr. Fantastic? He appreciates Reed’s tendency to ignore pathetic emotional attachments in favor of scientific breakthrough. Of course, Reed does give in every now and again, though Shockwave concedes few can be as purely logical as himself.
Bonus:
Skyfire- Superman. He appreciates how gentle Superman is despite his immense strength. He wants to be just like him.
Rumble and Frenzy- They like Batman because Batman is cool. He also reminds them of their dad and they like to joke that they’re Soundwave’s Robins.
Wildbreak- As the son of notable Decepticons and nephew of the president (Starscream), Wildbreak feels he has a lot to live up to. As such, Jon Kent - Superman’s son - means a lot to him. Anytime he feels inadequate, he remembers that Jon feels the same. Even though Jon is fictional, he makes Wildbreak feel a little less alone.

Sharing my love for Starfox 64 (originally titled Lylat Wars here in the UK) today.
Tumblr media
I played this game over and over in 1997 and loved it, but it’s only playing it again in 2023 on Switch that I’ve realised just how good it is.
N64 had a lot of great games but not many games from the early days of 3D have aged gracefully. Even Mario 64 and Zelda, two games I’d still consider some of the best ever made, are starting to feel a little clunky if we’re honest.
Starfox 64 feels fresh as a daisy, 26 years later. I don’t know how it’s possible, but it does.
The Switch’s button layout is less than ideal for N64 games, true. But ignoring that, the controls are so tight and so responsive, and so rewarding of skill. You can always make your ship duck and weave through laser crossfire exactly the way you want it to.
And you need to do so to stay alive on the tougher missions. It demands precision but in turn it always gives you full control. In an era where devs were still figuring out how 3D movement even works, it’s staggering that the game *handles* like it was released today, even though it looks dated.
There’s no auto-aim and while I’d normally call that a bad thing on a console shooter, this gels perfectly with the precise movement. You’re picking and placing your shots just like you’re constantly re-evaluating your position on screen. There’s a big risk and reward element as you weigh up the chance to take out a large formation of enemy ships vs putting yourself in the way of harm. And all of it feels intuitive. They still haven’t made a Starfox game that plays this well.
And the game is super replayable! It’s very short, clocking in at less than an hour, but that’s the point. You only play 7 out of 15 planets in any run, and each level can play out in vastly different ways depending on your performance, sending you on different routes of various levels of challenge.
There are 25 possible paths to the final boss - some are simple and let anyone pick up and learn the finer points of the game, while others offer crazy high scores but will test your skills to the limit. So that’s 25 hours to see everything the game has to offer, plus so much more time spent honing your skills for that high score, plus the incredible pick-up-and-play short session appeal of the whole thing…wonderful.
If you’re good you can protect your wingmates (they die easily) and in turn they’ll look out for you, leading you to hidden paths, warning you of ambushes and analysing boss tactics. Or you can let them get shot down and miss out on the extremely memeable dialogue. The story is corny as hell and full of classic sci-fi movie tropes and scenarios that are a delight to play through. You even fight an army of Gundams! At times, you really feel like you’re part of an epic movie space battle. I loved the old Star Wars Rogue Squadron series but even at its best, it never made me feel like that.
In short, I can’t believe in 2023 a game made in 1997 feels this good to play. It’s magic.
