Danny goes on Vacation and leaves his job to his Co-workers
So! Danny hasn't had a break from his Hero Career since the day he turned into a Ghost. He has been constantly fighting battle after battle against his worst enemies one after the other.
Even after joining the Justice League, he didn't really have a chance to take a break. He never really asked for help because it didn't seem like a big enough deal to bother them with. He just kept on working.
Until the day he accidently mentioned this to one of his Co-workers, and they practically Force him to take a Vacation.
He has been fighting Crime, nearly every single day since he was 14, with at most a day or two in between battles for all that time, and he is now entering his 20's. They are horrified that he never asked them for help, no matter how easy the job may have been.
After a while of convincing him, they eventually get him to agree to tale a Month-Long Vacation.
He actually gets really excited after he agrees, and he is planning on exploring deep space for the entire month. He is actually really looking forwards to it now, and seeing this everyone who volunteered to take over his Patrols all promise that they will absolutely not bother him until the trip is done.
So, Danny leaves for his Vacation and the other Heroes set up shop in Amity Park.
Danny left them instructions on how to deal with Ghosts, how to pacify specific Rogues, and how to sent them back to the Ghost Zone when they are done. They feel like they are fairly well prepared for their Month Long Mission, especially since Danny described it as a very easy job.
Then the first Rogue Attack happened.
The team dispatched there, made up of a few mid-level JLA Members and some JLD Members for safe measure, takes nearly an Hour to defeat the Ghost. And they barely manage it.
They are surprised at how hard it is, but are even more surprised when they find out that the "Box Ghost" is labeled as a Low-Level Nuisance.
So, they call in a few higher level members to help. They do not want to interrupt Danny's Vacation.
Then they have to call in more JLA members, and again, and again.
By the time Danny managed to get back from his Vacation, the Founding Members and all JLD have been called in.
He thanks then for the opportunity to finally have a break.
Danny: Seriously, thanks guys. This was the best break I've had in years.
JLA: *out of breath and haggard* yeah dude...no problem...let me just sit down for a minute...whew!
Danny: Oh, I can't wait for the next time I can go on vacation!
JLA: *looking like this: 😐* ...yeah sure bro...

Ohhh new ship ask game. Paulina and Danny maybe?
"And... why do you want me specifically?"
Paulina flashed Danny her heart-melting smile. "Because! You've got a great shape for it, and you wouldn't want to let me down, would you?"
"Of course not," he said, trying to contain his sigh. Sure, he'd gotten over her more than a year ago, but he couldn't help it. He was a people-pleaser. Especially when it came to his people.
It still didn't mean he was totally okay with being used like this.
"Plus just think! The statement you'll make!" Paulina threw an arm around his shoulder and spread her hand across the horizon in front of them. "Picture it: some los- er, a lost soul finding their way because you, Danny Phantom, were bold enough to take a stand! How could you let an opportunity like that pass you by?"
To his credit, he didn't flinch when she used his celebrity name. After all, much to his (and Sam's) surprise, she had respected him enough to continue to call him Danny Fenton, unlike some kids, who for some reason thought they could just call him Phantom as he passed by in the hallway. Or even worse, the adults who would refer to him as Mr. Phantom, even if he was very obviously in human form.
But he couldn't deny the flashbacks of the shrines she'd built in her locker freshman and sophomore years. She'd torn them down immediately, of course, after the revelation, but they still burned a hole in his memory.
Plus she'd never actually admitted to having lost her crush on 'her' ghost boy. For all he knew, this was a ruse to get him closer to her.
Still though, Paulina was cleverly manipulative. She knew exactly what to say to tug on his core and make him want to give in.
He groaned. "Alright, fine, but this is a one-time thing, you hear?"
She squealed and grabbed his hand. "Oh, Danny, you're the best! I promise, if you hate it, you'll never have to do it again! I swear!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well.
He didn't hate it. Surprisingly.
Actually, it looked really... pretty?
Sitting there, a half hour after Paulina had approached him, he rotated his hand, letting the sun catch the different colors in the polish she'd painted on his nails. At one angle, it looked like a deep, vibrant teal, and if he tilted it just to the side, it turned into a rich, shiny purple. Tiny sparkles covered the whole nail, reflecting like hundreds of itty bitty stars in a sky that he held on his finger.
"How'd you get it to do the multi-color thing?" he asked absently. He couldn't tear his eyes away from the sight.
Paulina was still bent over his other hand, working on painstakingly applying more polish. He didn't understand, considering she'd done that hand in the same holographic colors, but she insisted it wasn't finished. "I didn't do it. It's just the polish. Now cállate! I'm trying to concentrate."
Apparently she was very serious about her manicure skills. The way she shushed him, stuck her tongue out a bit as she worked, and moved ever so carefully, it all showed a dedication to the art that he had never realized was possible.
Another two minutes passed before she sat upright, nearly causing Danny to jump three feet in the air. "There!" she said triumphantly, putting the lid back on the polish bottle. "Tell me what you think of that."
At first, he couldn't see what she'd done differently. The nails were shinier than they had been - probably that clear bottle sitting to her side - but nothing else had changed.
And then he saw it.
Only on his ring finger, his logo, perfectly painted out onto the nail in white. It stood out against the purple and blue and green of the polish underneath and brought out the tiny stars even more.
His heart caught in his throat. Sure, he'd seen plenty of people wearing his logo in many different ways by now, but this... something about this was different. Maybe it was how he couldn't help but see the depths of space now at his fingertips. Maybe it was how she'd clearly spent a lot of time and effort making the logo look absolutely perfect, without a stray line to be seen. Maybe it was how instead of standing out loudly, garishly like he saw on so much other merchandise featuring it, it somehow simultaneously blended in yet stood out elegantly, subtly.
Paulina watched him gape wordlessly at his hand. She flipped her hair over her shoulder with a proud smile. "Told you it'd be great," she said with the confidence of someone who'd never doubted her skill for a moment.
She had every right to have that confidence, as far as he was concerned.
He looked up at her, still unable to speak, and her grin only widened. "Do you want me to do the other one?"
Danny immediately nodded, then stopped himself. "Would... would it be weird if I... left it on?" he asked quietly. He wasn't opposed to the polish itself, of course, but to walk around school, around town with something that wasn't really his? Even if he loved it?
Her laugh tinkled in the air. "Of course, silly! Why would I spend so much time just for you to get rid of it?" she giggled as she reopened the bottle.
Her grin didn't fade as she bent over the hand he'd been admiring. "Just wait till you see what other designs I've been working on."
"You have more?"
She glanced up at him. "Uh, duh. But... I suppose you said it was just this one time," she said with a sigh.
Danny blushed. "Well, I - uh, you know... I mean, maybe you could... um... again - only if you want to though! I wouldn't - I can't -"
Her laugh echoed across the field and up into the sky.

Very basic summaries of my silly little Genshin AU's (the full ones, at least) because why not
Oh Archons There's Two of Them AU
Run of the mill Nameless Bard revival au
Except it completely operates on the rule of funny and now there's two Ventis in Mondstadt who claim to be siblings who keep giving conflicting information and clarify NOTHING
Anemo Archon Dvalin AU
Dvalin becomes the new archon after Venti dies during the Cataclysm
500 years later he befriends Celio, the reincarnation of Nameless Bard, and they both try to uncover a divine conspiracy
Roleswap AU
If Venti still somehow managed to pull through the Cataclysm in the previous AU.
Dvalin proceeds to become stress incarnate just trying to get Venti some help with the poison and everything just keeps going wrong
They'll be fine
Modern Twin AU
In which no one believes Carmen has a twin that is never seen with him
I Love You Since AU
Legend says of an arch that traps you somewhere in time if you pass through without a prayer to Time and Wind
Someone disrupts the timeline by killing Nameless Bard before the revolution reaches its goal and Aether has to bring back the killer before they do (and before Venti passes out from trying to keep the timeline intact)
Demon Slayer AU
Nameless Bard brings his (dying) younger brother Venti to Dr. Tamayo and Venti chooses to become a demon when nothing else could be done so NB wouldn't be left alone
They constantly travel
Post Canon Modern YouTuber AU
Venti doesn't change his outfit and just lets his subscribers think he just likes to wear historical clothing
There are "Venti is an immortal vampire" theories floating about online
Spy Venti AU
In which Venti is a former spy of the Thousand Winds currently working for Celestia
Mostly domestic shenanigans and Venti trying really hard to keep Dvalin out of his real work
Zhongli is practically the only one who never faked his death.
Nameless Bard has acquired tools to be a menace to society ever since he met Venti
Cecilia Garden AU
The Promised Neverland AU where Kaeya, Jean, and Diluc discover that their caretaker Venti and the orphanage may not be what they seem
Rozen Maiden AU
The archons are doll siblings that get forced to fight to the death
They are also in a time loop and only Venti and Paimon, the Sustainer's assistant, know about it
Mostly inspired by Rozen Maiden Traumend
Lumine and Aether are new in town and through some letter shenaniganery, welcome Venti as their new roommate
Ajax is an actual toy maker
Venti dies, but he gets better don't worry :D
Starfall AU
Ghost Trick AU
Nameless Bard, Gunhildr, and their silly gaggle of ghosts attempt to investigate Dan's (sir Ragnvindr) murder and clear Nameless Bard's name
NB has a meteorite lodged in his heart that basically makes him Danny Phantom and cause ghosts that die in his vicinity to gain powers
Actor AU
Zhongli is very present on social media while Venti is a straight up cryptid that is rarely seen online
Shadows of Time AU
Shadows House AU
Makoto, Ei, Venti, and Himmel try to overthrow the nobility after their friend Zhongli's disappearance
Ei is Makoto's shadow while Venti is Himmel's shadow and they are currently part of the star bearers in the children's wing
A's AU
Venti is the consciousness of a magic book called the Skyward Atlas
He and Carmen can do magical girl transformations and also do a little fusion
This is technically a magical girl au
They're on a universe road trip
The two are actually on the run from the government because Venti is classified as a Very Dangerous ancient artifact and neither of them want to get separated
Wrong Star Themed Travellers AU
Everything is the same except the Traveller Twins are replaced by Akai and Hosshi from Kaitou Joker
Too much stays the same, in fact, to the point where the world ACTIVELY changes around them just to keep what happens in canon
Hosshi is the Traveller
Only Kaeya and Venti are aware of this change and it's honestly so weird for them to see everyone act like there's nothing strange about the stretchy green cat running around
Fairy AU/Winds of Change AU
Tinkerbell (and the Great Fairy Rescue technically) AU
Venti is a wind fairy that guides the spring breeze that befriends a sickly young human
Nameless Bard is usually stuck inside because of his poor health and overprotective parent, but Venti often visits him in the spring and brings him little things like flowers and bird feathers in the breeze
Venti had lost a wing during an incident and Nameless Bard ran through a storm to get him to safety, making his health turn for the worst in the process
Still, Istaroth, the queen of the fairies was so moved by the lengths the two would go for each other that she lets the Bard visit the forest as much as he wants and gives him her favor
Filo Highschool AU
An entire AU inspired by my own highschool experience in a small school somehwere
The divine beings are part of the staff
Project Fate AU
As an attempt to take control of the Loom of Fate, a group attempts to clone Istaroth, the Master of Time
Basically Venti learning to see his own existence through his loved ones
Gathering of Cloudy Days AU
BlazBlue AU
There's just. Too much. Sorry.
Basically multiple factions trying to get Istaroth to come out of the Abyss and stop the neverending cycles that restart every time Venti dies
I take both games' lore and throw them into a blender to create a convoluted concoction
It's almost a sci-fi now
The Nameless AU
A Honkai Star Rail AU where Nameless Bard had been part of the old Astral Express crew before it broke down
The Bard is on the Destruction Path while Venti is on the Harmony Path (and may or may not be one of Xipe's Emanators)
They got separated at some point, and due to some time dilation shenanigans, the Bard ends up a thousand years in the future trying to look for any traces of his old friends
I Sleep When I'm Dead AU
Venti's "slumbers" are actually just him being dead
He comes back to life whenever Mondstadt really needs him

come back, be here | j.m.k
Sooooo this was inspired by the song of the same name as the title by T Swift and when I tell y'all I cried before writing this.....I'm really out here in my feels lately it's crazy BUT I hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing this
-------------------------------
"I miss you so much, mama. The lights atop the biggest skyscrapers cannot compete with the light in your eyes. They can't compare to the light you bring in to my life."
You giggled over the phone, though your heart was clenching in your chest knowing the words your lover spoke to you came from hundreds and hundreds of miles away.
"I miss you too, my love. It's not the same without you here, even the plants are missing their own personal sun."
It was his turn to laugh, but there was a hint of sadness behind it.
"Just make sure you're giving them plenty of water, and let them know I'll be coming home soon."
"Promise?"
"Forever and then some."
You had been dating Josh for 4 years, and the distance never got any easier. If anything as your relationship progressed so did the undeniable need to have him home. To have him within reach, to have him in the same room, in your shared house, sharing the same oxygen. You understood what you were getting in to when you started dating, but that didn't make you immune to the feelings of longing and sadness that hit you like a truck every time you dropped him off at the airport. Sometimes you wouldn't even get a chance to do so, as they would arrange for a car to come pick him up and you only had a handful of minutes to say your goodbyes before he was being swept away to see all the other people around the world that loved him just as much as you did. But you were selfish, you wanted him all to yourself. Having only had him for a few weeks before he was taking off again, each time the want for more grew stronger. And he knew this, he felt the exact same.
He was often moving from place to place, never lingering for more than a few days if he was lucky. Having his brothers close to him helped him, knowing he wouldn't have been able to do it alone. But there was still an emptiness in his heart, but that's where you came in. When you had first met all it took was one look from you and he was a goner. He spent as much time with you as he could over these last 4 years but he knew he could never give you what you desired which was him, all the time like every other couple. But he tried, he tried his hardest to always make sure you knew you were loved, and no matter the distance he was always going to come back home to you.
"This Texas heat is no joke! I'm bright red instead of my normal warm golden hue!"
You laughed on the other end of the phone, picturing your goofy boyfriend pouting because he looked like a lobster.
"Well did you put any sunscreen on?" you asked. "You know you burn easy."
"We tried to tell him, Y/N!" you heard Jake's voice in the background, quickly followed by Sam and Danny as they agreed.
After a few seconds of yelling back and forth, Josh came back on the phone.
"I'm sorry, darling, these idiots don't know when to mind their own business." he sighed.
"Well, were they telling the truth?" you asked, and the silence that followed told you all you needed to know.
You laughed some more picturing the look of innocence on his face, like that of a child trying to lie to his mother about not eating chocolates though his face was covered in them.
You talked on the phone for a few more minutes, before the inevitable call was heard on his end from one of their crew members, calling out for them to get on stage.
"I have to go, baby." he sighed.
You smiled, though you knew he couldn't see you. It was more of a sad smile, one that always finds it's place on your lips once the call nears the end.
"It's alright, handsome. Go have fun," you spoke, biting your lips to prevent it from trembling as the tears began to make their way out. "Give them the best show of their lives."
He knew what you were feeling, he knew you were trying not to cry as you spoke your last goodbyes. He knew because he felt the exact same way. But he needed to be strong. He needed to be strong for you, for himself, for his brothers, and for his fans. You all needed him, and he needed to give everyone one thousand percent. So with one last final goodbye and a kiss that could only be shared over the phone, the line went dead.
Josh being away more often than not led him to miss a few special dates within your relationship. He had missed your first Valentine's Day together, he had missed your birthday a few times, and he had missed several anniversaries. He missed your big work dinner in honor of your major promotion. You knew it wasn't his fault, you could never bring yourself to blame him and you never would. You tried not to linger on the thought of those memories, knowing you couldn't go back and change the way things happened. Instead you focused on the future, and how there would be more Valentine's Day's, more birthdays and anniversaries and other celebratory moments. But the sadness still lingered, and all you could do was hope that when the time came he would be there.
"Thanks for the picture of you in your underwear, by the way. It's your new contact picture."
You laughed as you heard Josh scolding the other boys for sending you that picture, their laughter in the background causing you to laugh even harder.
"Yeah, yeah, go ahead and laugh at my misery." he spoke once he was done fighting with the others.
"I think it's cute," you said, coming down from your laughing fit. "It reminds me of you running around the house in your underwear."
He laughed as he recalled the memory. When he was home he rarely wore any clothes, and you didn't mind, but when he refused to wear clothes even when his family was over you had to scold him like a child and chase him around trying to get him to cover himself up. Eventually he would, confessing as you caught up to him that he only liked giving you a hard time.
You missed those moments with him, having not had one in 3 months, and you told him this.
"I know, honey bee. But just think, a few more and then I'll be home and I'll never wear underwear ever again." his joke of trying to lighten the situation worked, but only slightly.
You didn't want to bring him down with your mood, so you forced a laugh and went on to talk about something else while you had the time. But he knew you better than anyone did, and he knew you were putting up a front for his sake and it broke his heart, especially trying to pretend like he didn't catch on as he continued on the conversation.
Some days weren't easy as the others, not that any of them really were, but somedays you could hold your tears back. Though as for others, it wasn't so easy. You just missed him. You missed your other half, you missed your partner in crime, and you missed not sleeping alone. You missed waking up next to him, immediately rolling over to cling on to him and showering him in good morning kisses as you waited for him to wake up and look up at you with those honey colored eyes that even after all this time still made you weak in the knees. Any time he would leave you longed for his return, you ached for it. You ached for him.
"Shh, mama don't cry please." Josh begged on the line, this time being able to see you as you were on FaceTime. "I hate to see you cry, especially when I'm not there to hold you."
This only made you cry harder. You had tried holding it in you really had, but it was too much. You had started the morning already missing him, especially after waking up to find that the dream you had of him laying next to you was just that, a dream. You had gone about your day trying to forget about the dream so you wouldn't look so rough later on when you hopped on your call with Josh, but the last straw was when you were doing laundry and a whiff of his cologne wafted across your face. You had lost it then, bent over the washer as you tried to hold yourself up, sobs raking through your body. You had cried for hours, and by the time your phone was going off signaling he was calling, you still weren't done. You tried pulling yourself together as you answered, but one look at his face and there you were again, a sobbing mess.
"I'm sorry," you sobbed, wiping your tears which deemed pointless as more and more continued to follow. "I'm so so sorry I just-- I was doing laundry and then I-- and I couldn't and--fuck! I just want you to come home." you couldn't talk, you were crying so hard and Josh didn't know what to do.
He wanted you to be okay, but he knew that that was asking for too much when your partner was constantly being ripped away from you. He was surprised you had stayed with him this long, he wouldn't blame you if you decided one day that you were done waiting and that that was it. But you hadn't, and he knew you wouldn't. So he made it a priority to always make sure you were okay, no matter what it took. Especially when he was away and he couldn't do anything besides try to soothe you over the phone. He was in a bind every time this happened, and his heart broke a little more each time it did. He hated seeing you this way, but he always said 'better out than in'. He understood like no one else, having cried himself to sleep in the confines of his bunk from missing you so much. He just never told you, or anyone. His brothers knew though they never mentioned it, they just made it a point to not leave him alone for too long on those days and to hug him every chance they could. They knew they couldn't compare to what he really needed which was you, but it was something.
Outside of the camera view he whispered a favor into Jake's ear, before taking his phone and walking off somewhere more private. He was able to coax you down after a while, and you mumbled a bunch of apologies that he waved off with a smile, a smile that was reserved for you and only you. He just wanted you to feel better, even if his heart was slowly breaking.
"I'm coming home, Y/N." he assured you once again. "Before you know it it'll be you and me mama, you and me and my underwear."
This brought a laugh out of you, and he soaked every bit of it in. He was glad he could make you feel better, and soon after you fell into your normal conversation, catching up on each others days before you had to get off the phone. He reminded you he was coming home again, and you felt the tears sting your eyes again.
"Promise?"
"Forever and then some, my heart."
The pictures and videos you received from Josh and the boys pieced your heart back together a little more each time, though it was never near enough you adored every single little thing they sent you, immediately saving them all onto your phone. All of the pictures you would develop, adding them into a scrapbook for tour memories for the boys. The album was filled with all sorts of pictures from all around the world. Danny golfing in Brazil, Sammy swimming there as well. The twins on a boat in Australia, the four of them doing shots in Ireland. There was a memory from pretty much everywhere around the world at this point. You loved looking through it as you sat and ate breakfast in the mornings, or when you were missing all of them a little bit more than usual before bed.
It was almost cruel falling in love this way. The long distance wasn't a friend to anyone, and you couldn't imagine what you would do if you didn't have phones or the internet. Those measly little things are what kept you attached to the love of your life when he was away, and you cherished it like a rare diamond.
"Thank you for the flowers, Joshy. They’re beautiful."
The day after your break down over the phone with Josh, he confined in his twin for a favor. While he comforted you, Jake was in another room calling an immediate order of two dozen white roses meant to be delivered to your home. They arrived the very next day, and you cried in front of the delivery man but you didn't care. You were so overwhelmed with love in that moment that once the roses were placed in a safe spot, you quickly gave the man your signature before running to grab your phone to call Josh.
"I'm glad you liked them, honey." he said, a wide grin on his lips.
He knew you needed him, and he knew you needed him more and more everyday. He tried filling some of the void with gifts and pictures and videos. He knew they would never amount to the same thing, but it was something.
"I loved them," you corrected lovingly, matching his smile.
You dove into conversation after that, taking advantage of the fact that they had an off day so you could talk a little longer. Josh's phone was passed around the room at one point, and you got to talk to the other guys as well, catching up on their thoughts and what they had been up to. After a few protests from Josh, claiming that they were stealing you from him, he landed back in the view of the camera as his phone was passed back to him.
"So, where to next, curly?"
He smiled at the nickname as he spoke. "Georgia, then Alabama after that."
He went into details about the next few shows, and you tried not to squirm around in your seat too much. The anticipation for the next few weeks to go by grew stronger and stronger. He was coming home in a few weeks, and you were more than ready. Though it was only for a month, you could not wait any longer.
The days leading up to Josh's return proved to be way more hard and stressful than you had anticipated. You were swamped with work so you had been missing some of his calls, and you wished you hadn't, even more so after the conversation you shared when you finally got a moment to answer.
"2 more months?!" you gasped.
On the other end of the phone Josh sounded distressed, much like you were feeling at the moment. He had called to give you the news that they extended their tour 2 more months, so instead of being home in 2 weeks he was going to be gone much longer. He had already been gone for 6 months, but 8? That was so long you feared you wouldn't be able to do it.
"I know, love, I know. It sucks so much and we tried to fight it but nothing worked, they refused to listen to us." he sighed. "We take off for New York in the morning."
The conversation was cut short after that, the two of you too heartbroken to even handle speaking. It wasn't fair, none of it was. He was supposed to be coming home in 2 weeks, only to find out they added an extension to the tour and they were sending them off to New York.
That night you cried yourself to sleep, you couldn't do it anymore. Any of it. You just wanted him home, you needed him home. You needed him so bad you feared your heart would finally completely break, not being able to handle the longing you felt for your lover. You cried for hours, tossing and turning in bed. You tried taking a shower to relax your body when sleep refused to come, but it didn't work. You cried in there too, cried when you got out, and cried when you climbed back in to bed. Eventually sleep over took your body on it's own, and you welcomed it with open arms.
————-
The room was warm when you woke up, much too warm. You always had to have the ac set on at least 65 as you got hot easily, so upon waking up bathed in warmth you feared you might've finally broken it. You kept your eyes closed as you tried to ignore the heat in the house, your eyes begging you to go back to sleep as your body ached from all of the distress from the previous night. You were almost there, almost back asleep but you felt yourself moving and the heat grew stronger. Your brows furrowed and you groaned in annoyance, your groan echoing in your sleep induced brain. Except, it wasn't an echo.
It took a few minutes to open your eyes, even more so to adjust to the brightness in the room. You mentally cursed yourself for not closing the blinds, but you were much to occupied bawling your eyes out. Once you rubbed the sleep from your eyes you looked around the room, your eyes shooting straight down your body as you felt yourself move again.
A pair of arms was wrapped around your waist, keeping you flush against the heat that you thought was from the heater, but you quickly realized it wasn't. You shot up in bed, almost falling completely off but you managed to catch yourself, your eyes wide and your mouth stuck open in a gasp as you looked down at what was in your bed. Or more so, who was in your bed.
"I told you I'd come back and be here, didn't I?"

considering the extensive 'roommate agreement' steve made danny sign up for, one has to wonder if one of the aspects was the ... um... The Overnight Guest Policy™... if that's even something they discussed at all, sure, danny's stay was temporary, but it was undetermined.
the thing is normal bros and roommates that don't harbour secret feelings for each other would encourage and help each other in the whole getting-laid-venture, or, at the least, try to not get in each other's way. but nothing about steve and danny's situation is normal, is it?
danny could hardly invite anyone back to steve's place for sex, of course he could always go to gabby's but....steve would notice when he doesn't come home and he would know, and for some reason it feels too awkward, which is silly, it's not like he's cheating on steve, but it still doesn't feel right. so maybe danny pretends he's taking things slow and gabby assumes he's old-fashioned like that.
now, steve has catherine, not that he admits he does, whatever, she's occasionally in the picture, but would she come over when danny is living there? would steve even want her to? doubtful. sure, danny could offer to make himself scarce for the evening, maybe get a hotel room or crash with the cousins, but steve wouldn't want to do that to him. especially since the remedy cath has to offer isn't suitable for what ails him.

it's so easy to imagine steve getting a call from her one of those days, because a shore leave is coming up, and she could use some company, and even though they aren't truly close she knows steve enough to gauge his mood, the frustration coming off of him in waves even through the phone, when he talks about danny, danny, danny, always danny, and she offers to come over, maybe help him take the edge off, but he says 'no, not this time' and promises to make it up to her, as usual. he just can't...and he knows it won't work...and it doesn't feel right to use cath in that way, when danny is all he can think about, it's not fair to her, and even if it could provide a temporary relief it would only make him feel worse afterwards.
meanwhile danny tries to hide his own relief he feels when he hears steve turn cath down, fighting an immediate wave of guilt for being a bad friend, but he's never been good at pretending he doesn't love having steve to himself. being chosen by steve, even temporarily.
it's a sweet kind of torment they both endure, perhaps even enjoy in a twisted way, only looking when the other person can't see.
after danny moves out steve is free to do whatever or whomever he wants, but instead he just wishes danny had stayed because he misses the way danny made the house feel like home.

In the Zone (6)
Based on the Phic Phight prompts: Danny and co. go sight seeing in the zone and get lost. Maybe they have to navigate weird ghost logic/physics/laws to make their way home (from @ventisettestars). And Sam and Tucker maybe getting Pharaoh + plant powers? ecto contamination for the win ig (from @corvidspectre).
Chapter 6: The Voyage Home

[No Warnings Apply]
It was something like three days before Shadow and the other jackals returned, but they made good on their promise. When they came back, they were dragging the Specter Speeder behind them, a little dinged up, missing a few non-vital pieces, but still in good enough condition to get the trio home.
While Danny performed an inspection and a few minor repairs on the speeder, Tucker finished up his training with Soot. In just a few, short days, Tucker had learned to both create illusions himself, and to manipulate the illusions already in place in what was now his lair in the Zone. Soot also taught him how to control his coercion powers more effectively. That was almost certain to become a major nuisance some way or another, even if Sam and Danny could usually resist.
"Okay, I think the speeder is up to snuff now," Danny said, smearing a mix of ectoplasm and machine oil across his forehead as he wiped the sweat away. Thankfully, he'd remembered to lock it back in the city, and because of the anti-ecto coating, no ghosts could get inside, so nothing they left there had been removed or stolen. "It's still a little dinged up, but it'll definitely get us home. We have no idea how far we'll have to travel though, so we'd better get a move on."
"Finally! Let's get out of this sand trap!" Sam said, slinging her spider backpack on her shoulder. "I'm sick of eating nothing but dates, and the trees they come from are terrible conversationalists."
Tucker turned to Soot and bowed his head. The jackal returned to his fully animal form to bow back. "Do not bow to me, my lord," Soot insisted. "It is improper for a pharaoh to lover his head to a mere servant."
"I won't then," Tucker said, straightening up. Everyone had been bowing to him so much since he got there that it felt like the respectful thing to do. "I just want to thank you for helping me learn to use my powers."
"It was my duty and my pleasure to do so my lord," Soot said. "You were an excellent student, though your talk of holograms and virtual reality did confuse me."
"I have to go back to my world now, but while I'm gone, I'm putting you in charge. Don't let all that power go to your head, you hear?"
"I am honored, my lord." Soot bowed his head lower. "I promise I will be a just regent until your return."
"Good." Tucker nodded, satisfied, and with that, he grabbed his bag of things they'd got in the city and joined his friends in the speeder. "Take good care of the place!" he called over his shoulder as he climbed up into the vehicle.
"I will do my utmost, Pharaoh!" Soot called back.
Sam was already behind the wheel, and the second the door closed, she hit the accelerator. "Come on boys, it's time to go home!"
"Goodbye, socks full of sand!" Danny said laughingly. "No offense, Tuck, but I wouldn't want that to be my lair."
"I actually liked a lot of what was going on there, good bones and all that, but I think I'll modernize it over time," Tucker said. "Combining the wonders of Ancient Egypt with the wonders of sweet, modern technology will make that place the coolest lair in the Zone."
"Until Technus finds it," Sam scoffed.
"Technus is a wuss, and he's got nothing on me! I'll beat that old robot's ass any day of the week!"
"Pretty sure I'm the one who kicks ghosts' asses," Danny pointed out.
"We'll see how long that lasts now that Sam and e have ghost powers, you ghostly commoner!"
While the boy's squabbled, Sam watched the compass on the dashboard, keeping the red arrow pointing firmly ahead. They were flying directly toward the Fenton Portal, but who knew how long they'd be flying. They had to prepare for a very long trip.
"Listen, no matter how far we have to fly, we're not making any stops," Sam said. "We'll take turns sleeping, too, so there's always someone at the wheel."
"Whoahhh!" Danny said, looking out the window. The speeder was flying past a dark and spooky planetarium, with gargoyles on the roof and a laser light show on the walk. A sign in front advertised a scary night of astronomy, witchcraft, and technology at the haunted planetarium, anyone welcome. Danny and Tucker both turned to her with wide, pleading eyes.
She sighed. It was hard to argue when she also really wanted to go. "Fine!" Sam relented. "But we're tying down the speeder with ghost-repelling ropes this time, because I do not want to have to ask for help from Tucker's jackals again!"
The boys both cheered.
By the time they finally got back to Amity Park, spring break was well over and they'd already missed a week of school, too. All three of them were grounded for putting their parents through so much worry, and Danny was doubly grounded for stealing the Specter Speeder and bringing it back damaged.
Ultimately, though, the trip had been a huge success. The trio all knew more about their powers, and the Ghost Zone. And the next time a ghost was foolish enough to attack Amity Park, it had three spectral superheroes to deal with.

xxxi: The Magic Number
Cat was cleaning the blood from her hands with the droplets of rain falling on them. The bag with the cures was laying at Peter's feet.
"Everything Spider-man touches comes to ruin. And we, the innocents, are left to pick up the pieces..."
"I've heard enough," she cleaned the blood off her cheek with the back of her hand. "Peter, I found someone before this whole mess started, I think he can help us—"
"Cat, stop," he said hoarsely. "Stop."
"I promised I wouldn't try to fix your life and that's exactly why I'm telling you this." It was useless to try and talk sense into him. Where he was, drowning in grief, Cat couldn't make herself be heard. "Don't do anything yet."
Tumblr media
When she came back to her apartment, wet from head to toe, Parker was already waiting for her. He was even wearing the mask, ready to vanish at any moment. Cat's mask removed itself as she got closer.
"Aunt May..." Parker wrapped his arms around her, he didn't ask questions. "I'll take you to him," she said quietly. "I was trying to shelter both of you— I just weakened our chances..."
"What are you talking about?"
"I have... I have to..." a sizzling noise was heard behind them. Outside her window, a portal had been opened. "Strange?"
"Is it magic?" Parker asked in awe, still holding her.
Cat squinted. "Ned?"
"Your friend is a wizard?"
"Peter! Peter!" MJ called.
"They know about me?"
"No! How on earth..?"
Parker grabbed her and pushed her forward. "Let's go to them."
"What?" She stumbled to the edge of her window.
"Let's go." He pushed her through.
"Woah!" The teenagers jumped back.
"C.C?!"
Ned's grandmother started screaming, Parker tried to calm her down while Cat approached the teens.
"Since when are you a wizard?!" She asked in shock.
"Who the hell is this guy?" MJ demanded.
"It's okay, I'm a nice guy!" He pulled off his mask and looked at the rest of the group, both hands up to show he meant no harm.
MJ pointed at him. "Who the hell are you?"
"I'm Peter Parker."
"That's impossible."
"I am Spider-man," he breathed. "In my world— but then yesterday... I was... I was just here."
"This has to be because of the magic spell," Ned muttered.
"Magic!" Parker looked at Cat. "I can't believe magic's real!"
The familiarity with which he talked to her didn't go unnoticed by MJ. "You've been hiding him from us?"
"Would you believe me if I tell you this is the first time I see him?" Cat grimaced.
MJ frowned. "He was in your living room!"
"Okay," she replied bluntly. "In my defense when I found him he was a sleep-deprived, starving Spider-man. I didn't think he'd be very useful. No offense, Parker."
"No yeah, you're kinda right," he muttered.
"Prove it."
"Prove what?"
"That you're Peter Parker."
"I don't carry around an ID with me you know?" He chuckled nervously. "Kind of defeats the whole anonymous superhero thing—"
MJ threw a piece of bread at him. Parker looked at her with a sorry smile. "Why'd you do that?"
"To see if you have the tingle thing."
"I have the tingle thing just not for bread," he looked at Cat. "Don't they trust you? We spent a whole day together and—"
"You had him a whole day?!"
"What else was I supposed to do?" Cat turned to him. "I tend to befriend people with questionable conduct. But guys, I can't be the only one that sees it, look at him! It's Peter!"
MJ picked up another piece and Parker lifted a hand. "Can you not throw the bread again? You're a deeply mistrusting person... and I respect it."
He jumped and stuck himself to the ceiling. Cat gestured at him like showing off his magic trick and smiled tensely. "Are we done here?"
MJ made a face, she motioned vaguely. "Crawl around."
"Crawl around?"
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes, crawl around."
"Why do I need to crawl around?" He asked in frustration.
"This is not enough."
"This is plenty."
"No, it's not."
"Yes, it is."
"No."
"How do I stick to the ceiling?"
"You could be a mimic like C.C." MJ threw the bread at his face. "Do it."
Parker looked at Cat with a scowl. "You gonna help me out or what?"
"Oh you're doing a great job up there, Big-bug, really showing off those skills," she pointed over her shoulder. "Is no one going to close the portal in your Lola's kitchen, Ned?"
"Oh, right—!"
Parker kicked Cat's shoulder lightly to get her attention, she looked up at him. "Where's Peter?"
"He won't try anything until I go to him."
"Are you sure?"
"Well, you listen to me and he does that too... sometimes. I'll speed the process just come down already—"
"My Lola's asking if you could just get the cobweb there... since you're like, up there?" Ned interrupted.
Parker sighed, his face showing deep and obvious exasperation. "Yeah!"
He put the mask in his mouth and crawled to the opposite corner, then jumped to the ground next to Cat.
"Thank you." said the old lady.
He cleaned his hands and opened his arms expecting their approval. He tried to speak and remembered he still had the mask in his mouth, he grabbed it and tried again. "We good?"
"For now."
Parker turned to Cat in disbelief and she calmed him down by patting his shoulder lightly. "I got this, don't worry." Cat turned to her old friends. "If you weren't looking for this guy, then what happened?"
Ned explained they were trying to reach Peter but he wasn't answering calls.
"I guess you just keep doing it until we find the real one."
"Ouch," said Parker.
"No offense." The girl looked at Ned. "Okay. You got it."
Ned began drawing circles in the air. "Find Peter Parker..."
"What's the thing on his hand?" Parker asked.
MJ and Cat hushed him.
"Find Peter Parker... Find Peter Parker!"
A new portal opened, and someone was standing on the other side, but he wasn't wearing a spider suit. The man, of about forty, stepped into the room and looked at the portal, intrigued by it.
"Great, it's just some random guy..."
"Hello," he said with a cordial wave. "Uh... I hope it's okay I just came through this..." the portal closed much quicker than the last. "Oh, it just closed."
"Older Peter!" Cat beamed.
She didn't know how, but just like with Parker, she could see it clear as day even though this one had blue eyes instead of brown. The young woman realized it wasn't that she could see, she could sense it.
"I think I have a spidey sense..." she muttered.
"What?"
She looked at MJ and Ned. "I don't feel you guys."
"Cat, you're not making any sense."
She hit her forehead. "It must be my behavioral mimicking!"
"You're saying this guy is also Peter Parker?" MJ looked at him. "Are you?"
"Yeah," he looked at the group attentively. "I've seen you two... and you're the other hero, right? Copycat?"
"Cat," she smiled at him.
"Are you another Spider?"
"I'm a mutant," she lifted her hand and waved it. "I think I can sense when someone around me has powers and what kind. I couldn't do that before. Or I wasn't aware of it until you came."
His gaze landed on Peter standing beside her. "Wait, he's... he's not your friend."
Parker stood there staring at the other Peter with a dumbfounded expression. Before she could stop him, he shoot a web and both spiders moved in sync, attacking each other in the same exact ways and blocking the other's hits with the same tactics. It was like watching them fight a mirror.
Older Peter shot at the young one's wrist leaving him unable to use his web shooter. Parker let out an incredulous laugh.
"You're standing on Lola's table," Cat scolded him.
"Right. Sorry." He jumped off while Ned talked to the other Peter.
"Wait so you're spider-man too? Why didn't you just say that?"
"Uh, I don't go around generally advertising it. It kinda defeats the whole 'anonymous superhero' thing."
"That's what I just said..." Parker whispered.
Lola spoke again, this time scolding them for making a mess in her house. Ned translated for the rest of the group. "My Lola's asking if you could clean up the webs that you just shot."
"Oh. Sorry, Lola." Parker grimaced.
"Yes, of course..."
Cat said something in Tagalog, the woman chuckled and then waved briefly. "I'm going to bed."
"Good night, Lola."
"Good night, Ned's Lola."
"You understood what she was saying?" Parker asked her.
"I learned when I was in high school just to pass the time. I'm not good with numbers and like, chem stuff or whatever, but I excel at languages and sports."
He grinned. "That's cool. You're so cool."
"This might seem kind of weird, but..." older Peter began. "I've been trying to find your friend ever since I got here. I just had this sense that... that he needs my help."
"Our help," Parker added.
"I don't know how I missed you," Cat tilted her head. "I guess I was expecting to see some random person wearing a costume, but you look normal."
"Thanks?"
Cat looked at the rest. "I just want to finish this, and I promise I'll butt out of your business afterward."
"But we don't know where he is," MJ looked at the other Peters. "And he really does need your help. Honestly, right now, we're all he really has left."
"Well, is there someplace that he might go that has meaning to him? Like a... a place where he would go to just..."
"Get away from everything?" Parker finished.
He nodded. "For me, it was the top of the Chrysler Building."
"Empire State," the young man pointed at himself. "Better view."
"That is a sweet view," older Peter smiled.
Cat looked at MJ hopefully. "Jones?"
"Yes... Yeah, I think I know exactly where that would be."
Tumblr media
They found Peter on the Midtown High rooftop. MJ and Ned went to comfort him first before introducing the other Peters. Cat was aware of the shitty job she'd done, stressed and dragging him away from his aunt, but she hoped he didn't hold any resentment because of it.
Peter adopted a fighting stance. Parker and older Peter came down from the school's tower. "Hey wait— wait! Woah..." he stared at them in confusion.
The Peters raised their hands in surrender, and older Peter spoke. "Sorry... about May..."
"Yeah," Parker continued. "Sorry... I got some understanding of—"
"No, please don't tell me that you know what I'm going through."
"Okay..." he replied softly.
"She's gone... and it's all my fault. She died for nothing. So I'm gonna do what I should've done in the first place." He reached for the magic box, older Peter tried to speak. "Please, don't. You don't belong here. Either of you, so I'm sending you home. Those other guys are from your worlds, right?"
Both Peters nodded.
"So you deal with it. If they die, if you kill them... That's on you. It's not my problem. I don't care anymore. I'm done." He'd finally comprehended how she'd felt after Pietro, why she no longer cared about anything in life. "I'm really sorry that I dragged you into this. But you have to go home now. Good luck."
MJ moved the box out of reach, he gave her a questioning look but before he could talk, older Peter tried again. "My Uncle Ben was killed... it was my fault."
"I lost..." Parker had to take a moment. "I lost Gwen. My, uh..." he pointed at them. "She was my MJ. I couldn't save her. I'm never gonna be able to forgive myself for that. But I carried on. Tried to, uh... tried to keep going, tried to keep being the... that friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, because I know that's what she would have wanted. At some point, I just... I stopped pulling my punches. I got rageful... I got bitter. I just don't want you to end up like... like me."
"The night Ben died, I hunted down the man who I thought did it. I wanted him dead. I got what I wanted... It didn't make it better. It took me a long time to... learn to get through that darkness."
"I wanna kill him. I wanna tear him apart. I can still hear her voice in my head..." Peter choked out the words. "Even after she was hurt, she said to me that we did the right thing. She told me that with great power—"
"Comes great responsibility." Older Peter finished.
"Wait, what?" The boy looked up at them. "How do you know that?"
"Uncle Ben said it..." Parker replied with a small, teary smile.
"The day he died. Maybe she didn't die for nothing, Peter."
The boy's eyes went from one Peter to the other, then landed on Cat.
"I'm sorry I was so hard on you after Pietro... I didn't know... I didn't know it felt like this."
Cat shrugged. "I'll forgive you if you forgive me for hiding Parker from you."
He looked at the young man standing above them. "You knew they were here?"
"I thought I was doing the right thing... I was trying to trick myself into feeling better by pretending I was your new guardian. I don't fit in that role at all," she approached them. "I'm sorry."
MJ placed the box on the ground and wrapped her arms around Cat. Ned followed her lead, and then Peter. They were all smaller than her, her nose was brushing the top of their heads. Cat's eyes teared up even though she tried to stop it.

thinking about your bake off AU....... me and claudia were discussing an F1 version i would personally love ur thoughts on this
this is genuinely the best au ever and i can never do it justice but here's some ideas i have
this is so hard because there's like 50 million footballers and 20 spaces in this god awful sport. and i also don't wanna do like just a straight comparison either cause the idea of comparing any footballer to lewis... i'd throw my own self in jail
right so i dont care about taa at all but you do so in light of the southgate news he's giving the vibe of "guy who won junior series in his rookie or second season, got to like alpha tauri and then was overlooked for a promotion to one of the big teams in favour of everyone else" despite somehow winning a race in a shitbox of a car and if southgate was in charge would probably be sent off to fe or indycar or something to free up a seat.
okay i know i said i wouldnt do comparisons but sadly i DO think though not at all equal deccy would end up being the danny ric of the grid like un four chew nat lee he does have the charismatic appeal and also the glow up. outside of that comparison i think he ends up being a solid midfield driver, there's always rumours of him making the step up but everywhere is already taken and the contracts never align and people just don't want to spend money buying him out because it'd be so high because he's so key for said midfield team so he gets a couple wins but he never challenges for a championship. OR i'd argue grealish could fill that danny role but i truly truly do not think that man would be smart enough to remember what all the buttons on that steering wheel do. like it's just not happening is it... i can suspend disbelief in an au only for so long. he'd crash trying to push one button cause he'd look down trying to find it rather than remembering to concentrate on the bloody track
if i give spurs players past and present some championships the way i cannot give them trophies at spurs erm... look away. but also dembele wins like 1 championship but is forever an underrated driver and people don't appreciate his racecraft but other drivers on the grid hate to battle him because they know he's sooooo good. wait jan and mousa teammates yeah!!!!!!!!! they win a championship each. gonna say harry and son are teammates at some point and absolutely DOMINATE because the work SO well together and helping to develop the car. dele and eric ARE teammates when dele first breaks into the sport like they WERE the blueprint back in the day we cant ignore. would have dele and son as teammates but it'd only be for like half a season and then dele's arc gets DEPRESSING!!!!!!! it's like if pierre had been demoted to alpha tauri and then flopped there too and been demoted out of the series altogether. i do think richy and romero as opponents but also actual teammates era would leave them like ocon and perez bitchy tweets and all because there wouldn't be the need for getting along that they have rn and that's important to me.
sissoko is a FLOP like nicky latifi but arguably maybe worse, has one good season but just fully is not a good use of a seat but then he goes to a different obscure series i cant think of and does well because i said so and also i'd be sat at home rooting for him even as he finishes 3 laps down and calling him the GOAT. no wait it's like when he scores he gets a podium and i'd have passed out and filmed the ceremony like i was literally there.
winksy and international baby girl kinda scream "i was ripped off with the promise of an f1 seat by zak brown and all i got was this stupid t-shirt" and then stay in indycar or something
maguire drives for like fucking haas or something and you genuinely do not know what he'll do. he seemed fine, decent, good even in junior formula and got his big move to f1 and just lost the plot. he's either anonymous in races or is being a Menace but even in his quiet races there's always the anticipation that he'll smash into another driver just to make himself feel better. like there is Always the chance of a safety car or a red flag if he's starting either because he's crashed into someone else or just decided to take himself into the barriers. you don't want to drive against him because you don't want to blink and suddenly have DNF-ed because of him.... but he also might get a penalty that boosts you up the grid without puncturing all 4 of your tyres somehow so... swings and roundabouts
marco reus is one of those goated goated goated drivers maybe we'll say he's like a lifelong ferrari fan like he is bvb and he signs to their academy and does well in junior series and spends the odd season at sauber/alfa and when he gets to ferrari everyone's like oh shit here we go and then the car is absolute CRAP but he simply wont abandon ferrari. like he's there forever he's the ride or die for that stupid team and instead of injuries we'll say it's constant DNFs and so he never wins a championship but he's hands down one of the biggest what if drivers. he's also so kind to younger drivers and if he can guide them in any way to make sensible contract decisions and help them mentally not pin everything on winning championships then he will.
like i hate ferrari but dare i say then here comes jude bellingham starboy?..... no i shall. he wins f3 and f2 as rookies at a super duper young age (rather than skipping junior categories like a certain dutchman) and ends up in the sauber by the time he's 17, in the ferrari by 18 and teammates with marco. if the ferrari garage was competent and the car wasn't a pile shit it'd be embarrassing for other teams... sadly that isn't the case. they make the best out of a bad situation and the genuine talent both of them possess drags that team to places it shouldn't be. marco is coming to the end but still got it and while still competitive he'll retire before he has to find a lower team. very much a mentor to jude as he progresses in as much as you can be in an individualistic yet team based sport. think we still see jude's temper sometimes flare up though over his career he deffo gets a hold of it and he deffo calls his engineer fucking shit at one point for a bad strategy but i also think he's not content to stick with ferrari if they're going to be rolling the circus into town every week and unlike marco WOULD jump to merc if they suddenly started outperforming (anyway this got too close to real life so let's leave that there)
as much as i hate to say this about my best friend erling, he's giving me red bull driver vibes I'm so sorry to myself and also him.
WAIT i've only made players drivers lemme see if any would be good engineers. maybe it's just because every tom dick and harry says he's smart but like i DO see ben davies being a good engineer maybe he can be sonny's. or wait hang on maybe i make dier dele's engineer rather than teammate hang on wait no hang on let's do that instead. i know there's nothing but hot air and joe rogan quotes up there but i think that would actually be soooooooooo perfect.
conor coady and tyrone mings are absolutely engineers and they work on the same team just managing a driver each and the social media/marketing team is constantly bullied into releasing footage with them after people clock they're not only fit but also good mates. so it'll be a video with drivers being silly and then INSTANTLY the exact same video concept but with those two.
jordan pickford either engineer or deranged team principle that is good at his job but also calls someone the c word over the radio and causes the PR team a sleepless week trying to deal with it.
dare i say hugo is the dilfy team principal who leads his team to like 10 championships in a row? yes i will.

Female Reader x Cole Walter
~Flashback. Four months ago~
Today was the day that you and Cole found out the gender of your baby, Katherine wanted you guys to have a gender reveal, but you decided against it because none of your family would be there and you didn't want any of your friends (Grace and Skylar, obviously) to go because if they came, then they'd know and you didn't want them or anyone else to know.
So, you and Cole drove to the hospital, when you guys arrived you sat in the waiting room until the called your last name, leading you down the hall to the room where she started the ultrasound, they looked at the screen seeing their beautiful baby.
You stared at the screen in awe, once again, it was habit, staring at the pictures, you were just still so shocked at the fact that you were even pregnant as was Cole. He looked down at you smiling, he was mesmerized.
"Would you like to know the gender?" the doctor looked at the two waiting for the answer, "Yes please," you excitedly nodded, "It's... a girl!" she smiled, your heart dropped, you and Cole were having a baby girl, the gender didn't matter to you but now that you knew, you were excited to be the mother a baby girl.
Cole tightly held your hand smiling at the screen and kissing your forehead.
And that was the day they found out that they were having a baby girl.
Cole had kept his promise, he had been helping you throughout everything, holding your hair back as you threw up, made you food (especially your weird cravings), gave you foot and back massages (your personal favorite) and forehead kisses. He was like the perfect boyfriend, it was as if you were living a fairytale life, you just didn't have a big castle, a tiara, and big pretty dress, but you didn't care for any of that stuff, you didn't need any of that stuff you were happy with family you had with Cole.
The Walter's, Katherine especially had been there for you whenever you needed her, she'd call off of work just because you needed something, which you appreciated, but you felt as if it wasn't necessary, the only time you ever really needed her was when your water broke while Cole was at school.
You see you weren't at school anymore because after a few months of being in school, you decided it would be better to pull out of school and do online, you didn't want to go to school while pregnant and get made fun of, so you sat home and did school, you didn't go out much either, not wanting to see people from school and them question you about what happened. The only ones who knew were the Walter's and their kids and your aunt.
~Flashback of a few days ago~
You came upstairs from the basement craving some Nutella and as you grabbed a spoon you felt water running down your leg, looking down at yourself confused, you thought that maybe you had peed yourself, that happens to some people when there pregnant but then you realized that wasn't the case.
You immediately called Katherine, who rushed back to the house. You then called Cole; you knew he probably wouldn't answer since he was in school, but you prayed that he did. When it stopped ringing you heard his voice, "Y/n, hello?"
"Cole. Cole! oh my god, Cole," your breathing was uneven as he spoke, "Are you okay? What happened? What's wrong?" he worriedly asked in a whisper, "My water broke," you breathed out, you heard Cole speak but it wasn't to you and then it was, "We'll be there as soon as possible." he promised, you started grabbing everything you needed and called George as instructed, he was outside with the horses and when you called him he immediately grabbed everything you guys needed and started driving you to the hospital, he tried to calm you down, you were panicking, you needed Cole to be there to calm you down but he was at school and you prayed that he'd hurry.
COLE'S POV
"I have to go, all of us do," he looked back at Danny who looked at him confused, Cole jerked his head to the front of the class as he spoke to his teacher telling her that he needed to get home, Danny followed after the boy as he ran out of the classroom, "Text Alex, Isaac, Nathan, and Lee, we need to go. Now."
Danny was confused but he could tell Cole was panicking and did as told and texted the four telling them that Cole was freaking out and that they needed to go, Cole started the car waiting for the four, "If they're not here in ten seconds, I'm leaving," Cole told his brother as his thumbs nervously tapped the wheel, "They're here,"
The four hopped into the car and Cole immediately started reversing and speedily drove, "Can you slow the fuck down?" Isaac questioned, Cole was driving like a maniac, and they were all holding on to something of out fear, Cole ignored the boys and continued to drive like an idiot, "Okay, can you tell us what the hell is going on?" Isaac asked, Lee nodded in agreement as did Danny, Alex and Nathan, "Y/n's water broke,"
The boys swarmed him with questions asking she was okay, "I! I-I don't know," his voice was loud and then it was barely above a whisper, the boys were shocked by his sudden outburst, but they understood where he was coming from since he was panicking.
Y/N'S POV
You had reached the hospital and was immediately taken into a room; everything was going by so fast that you barely knew what was going on but that all stopped Cole arrived with all of the Walter's excluding the younger kids. You didn't remember anything other than him telling you that he loves you before the big push.
You fell asleep soon after (about 15 seconds after), you were so exhausted from the push that you fell asleep leaving Cole with the baby. But you were soon woken needing to feed her. "Do you have a name?" Katherine asked the two as you and Cole, you looked down at your daughter and then Cole who spoke, "Lakelyn May Walter,"
(this name was requested)
It was a different name something Cole had suggested and at first you didn't like it but then you slowly grew fonder and fonder of it and decided to use it, "That's beautiful," she smiled as George placed a hand on her shoulder.
"You can hold if you want?" Katherine's face light making grabby hands as I handed her my baby. Watching as my mother-in-law held her.
A few hours later the Walter's excluding Cole had left, you needed to rest, and you couldn't sleep with everyone there and wanting to hold Lakelyn, everyone had gotten the chance to hold her, and you and Cole had sighed the birth certificate.
Before you drifted off to sleep with Cole right beside you, tightly wrapping his arms around your waist he spoke, "I love you and this baby so much and I promised you that I'd be there for you and Lakelyn, and I plan to be there forever, if you'll let me?" you looked at him confused, "What are you saying?" your tone was tired and you were out of it, "Will you marry me?" you thought you were dreaming but when asked again thinking you hadn't heard him the first time, you looked up him shocked, but you would be a fool to say no.
You sat there pretending to think about it for a minute, you looked down at Lakelyn and then thought about the Walter's and how you felt like you were already apart of the family, and then you turned to Cole, pulling him into a kiss, he kissed back and you responded, "Well, I do like the sound Y/n Walter, so I guess," you playfully shrugged, he laughed at you and pulled you back into the kiss, "I like the sound of that too."

Topic: Acupuncture and History coming soon as hand animation in 2025?
Gilgamesh: Even though my city was gone Uruk is the place I call home because it is the city of my dreams I always wanted to build for my precious friends or everyone to live in peace.
Peter: And you okay about this? Like Enkidu once asked you a very long time ago.
Gilgamesh: Though it seems to give you everything it takes away important things. Though it seems to allow you to do whatever you want.....but it keeps you from doing anything. Though everyone looks happy, everyone lives in sadness.
.
Danny: Then, is the path we're heading not a tragic path?
Punch: No.
Danny: It's a path where we won't lose everyone?
Punch: No.
Danny: It's a path where we can do anything?
Punch: Yes. Me, Sonic, and Mr Gilgamesh already made this decision. Since we opened our eyes to this world.
Danny: I see. But you need to promise one thing.
Punch: What is it?
.
Peter: You can do anything but don't use some weird equipment for people yet. In this era, people did not accept your judgment even your skill of Acupuncture too.
Gilgamesh: A long time ago Sonic did use his quills to use Acupuncture for healing Tails. Even Eggman can't use technology to heal or paralyze himself. So if there are mongrels that I can help, I will help them. A person's life can be saved the way for sure.
Peter: Aren't you afraid of your identity? We could get in trouble you know.
Gilgamesh: I don't care. I still want to learn more about this whole world too. Maybe I can bring dead people even aliens back to life too.
Peter: Both you and Punch need to learn to keep your secret identity.
.
Jang-geum: Why not, if it is to save a life? There was a traveler who traveled around the world and helped people even forbidding both that man and Young girl together saving one animal that even I can't use medication to be healed.
Punch: The fact that each person has a different house element Because the body has good, wind, and phlegm in different proportions, some people have wind as the owner of the house. Some people are good at being house owners. Some people have sed as the owner of the house. Some people are both windy and good. or wind and phlegm Or is it good or bad to be the owner of the house? People who are sick with wind disease, such as yawning, sighing and stretching their arms and legs frequently, pain in the hips, waist, bones and joints, vomiting and fainting. Stomach pain when hungry You should eat foods such as garlic, onions, seed oil, molasses, vinegar, hot milk, etc.
Jang-geum: But when looking at the truth differently Everything can be explained by natural, scientific phenomena. Medicine is a scientific discovery. Making it a public subject where anyone who has the opportunity to learn and practice can become a doctor without being related to the original teachers. Ethical control becomes a matter of professional group with the help of law. We are also beginning to see the spirit of doctors increasingly sway with economic changes.
Punch: You should go to do some country else and you wouldn't know how much you helping so many people but sometimes should not be published.
Jang-geum: After they left, I finally knew what I thought for so long was true.....there are so many things in this world that need to be analyzed.
Punch: "Medical Lady Jang-geum, whose origins cannot be traced, received the right to be called "Dae Jang-geum" At that time, there was no precedent of a Medical Lady treating a King, but the King trusted in Jang-geum's method of treating illness with food. Jang-geum, with the granting of the right to use "Dae" in her name, is certainly an epic lady whose name will be recorded in the history books."

yn sat at her kitchen island, silently staring at her empty house. it was new, fresh, clean. it was not full of life and love and laughter like the one she was used to. no. charles sat in that one, reminiscing over all the memories created there. she didn't know what to do anymore, it was a new house, new people, new routines. no fitting morning routines together like a glove because they both knew exactly what the other was doing.
no more them.
yn shook her head. she wouldn't allow herself to be this sad, this beat up over a man. she was better than that.
after all, she was the one who left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
scrolling through twitter at two am on a saturday morning didn't help her mind. sure most of the tweets were about how the whole world missed them two- which was quite unexpected-, but some of them just shit on her. she knew she needed to get off social media, but she also needed to see what everyone was saying about her.
curled up in bed, yn pulled her blanket higher up on her. she dropped her phone next to her and brought her hands up to her head. she had to stop. she had to get out of monaco, go the furthest away she possibly could. escape to australia, the complete other side of the globe. surely danny and heidi would take her in?
just as she was about to stand up, her phone started buzzing. she scrambled to reach it, wondering who was possibly calling her at this hour.
she finally found her phone just to drop it again when she saw the contact name.
charlie.
they hadn't talked in months, and suddenly he was calling her out of the blue at two in the morning?
thoughts ran through her mind at a hundred miles an hour, playing out every scenario of why he was possibly calling. she eventually decided that it was probably a drunk call to the ex, and there would be no harm in answering because he wouldn't remember it in the morning.
she clicked the answer button, holding her phone up to her ear, but not daring to speak.
"hello?" his voice was so familiar, it felt like home. she could imagine his face, his scent, his laugh. if she closed her eyes it was almost as if he was sitting in front of her, "yn are you there?"
she hummed, not wanting to voice anything and realise it is a dream.
"i'm not drunk. just to let you know." fuck. "i know how a two am phone call seems. i honestly didn't even think you'd answer the phone so i'm a bit unprepared."
she stayed silent, not knowing what to say. she sat there, half perched on her bed, replaying the ending of their relationship and willing herself not to go back to him. she couldn't. she had to stay strong.
"i thought you would be out clubbing or something, i don't know." charles rambled on, his voice so soothing, and if she wasn't currently in such an awkward position, she probably could of fallen asleep to it. "i know you probably hate me, and don't want anything to do with me, but i've been seeing that you're going out a lot recently, getting drunk and stuff."
"no." she cut him off, "you do not get to judge me for how i am coping with our relationship ending. it's your fault we're done."
"what?" charles exclaimed, "you're the one who ended it, you're the one who left."
"all you had to do was say 'don't go'." yn said softly.
"you can't seriously be blaming us ending on me?" charles was livid now, even though deep down he knew he could've stopped the break up.
"you can't seriously be blaming it on me." yn responded, a lot calmer than her counterpart.
"wow. i was calling to see if you wanted to get dinner with me, to see if you wanted to work things out between us, but not anymore." charles scoffed.
"whatever. in what world would i have even accepted that offer." they both knew that she would in this one.
"fine. goodbye, yn." charles waited to hear her voice once more before hanging up.
"goodbye, charlie. thanks for twisting the knife." and with that she hung up the phone, collapsing backwards onto her bed. she was going to need a strong drink now.

"Why would your dad deliver Jimmy?" Chloe asks Jennifer.
"Don't call him that ever again." She snaps at her.
"We don't know for sure it's Wakefield. Kid might be telling stories again." Shane tells Chloe.
"Hey! You don't blame a little girl because she was afraid for her mother's life." Trish tells him.
"Don't get all high-and-mighty with me. You're the one who sent Abby out there to God knows what."
"She had good reason to think it was about Abby. We all did." Shea speaks up.
"And you all deserve to apologize to her too!" Jennifer snaps at them. "If you still wanna think it's about me too... I mean, you're right, but I didn't choose to be a baby of an affair with a killer. Twenty-seven years of my life, I had no clue I was his child! And if you try to give me shit for it..." She glares at them, "Fuck you."
Madison watches for the group to return, and Nikki explains that the lack of communication from the island likely won't be realized for a few days.
"Mommy, he's here!" Madison makes everyone look over as Wakefield busts through the door with a two-foot boarding knife.
Nikki runs for a shotgun behind the bar, but Wakefield stops her, and she shoots into the air before he runs her through with the knife.
"NIKKI!" Jennifer screams, so Wakefield looks over at her with a smile.
Shane tells everyone to leave as Wakefield pulls Nikki over the bar, leaving her on the floor. Shane pulls out a fishing knife to face Wakefield, and Trish forces everyone into the bathroom, grabbing a shotgun before she leaves.
"No, I can't let him kill Shane too. Plus, Jimmy is still out there." Jennifer tells Trish.
"There's nothing you can do to help." Trish tells her.
"He wants me! Yes, I can."
"No! I'm not letting you go out there." Trish shouts as they hear Shane groaning in pain as the others rush out the window.
"Please, Trish." Jennifer begs her.
"No, what if he wants you just to kill? I'm not risking that."
"Fine, give me the gun so you can go through next. I promise to be behind you." Jennifer sighs, so Trish passes her the gun to climb through the window.
Wakefield approaches the bathroom, and she shoots through the door, running out of shells. Wakefield kicks the door open, scaring her, "Face to face." He tells her.
"Hey," Shane speaks up weakly, so Jennifer rushes to get out, but Wakefield grabs her waist.
"JENNIFER!" Trish grabs her arms.
"Go!" Jennifer lets go of the gun, getting dragged back in.
"Let her go!" Shane shouts, coughing up blood.
Wakefield lets go of her to go after Shane, "NO!" Jennifer jumps on his back, so he tosses her off him, and she hits her head hard, passing out.
Sully and Cal finally get to the dock after stitching up Cal's bullet wound. Sadly there wasn't a boat there for them.
"Looks like we're stuck."
"Thanks to me. If I hadn't gone to the wrong side of the car, I wouldn't have been shot." Cal tells him upset.
"Hey. Way I see it, I owe you one. I mean, if your hadn't been there, that bullet would've hit me instead." Sully lets him know.
"Saving me cost us our way home."
"No, we don't know that. I mean, sailboat could've been gone for days." Sully tries to get Cal to understand.
"I just want to get Chloe off this island." Cal sighs.
"I get it. I want to get Jen off this island too."
"You really like her, huh?" Cal looks at him.
"I've been trying to get for eleven years, man. So yes, I really like her. I told her I loved her before we left." Sully hopes she was okay right now.
"Well, let's get back to her and Chloe." Cal pats his back walking to the car.
Abby, Henry, and Danny arrive at The Cannery, finding the door open and the jukebox playing. Inside, they discover Shane strung from the ceiling over an oar.
"Jenny!" Abby rushes over to her side as she lies on the floor. "Jennifer." She shakes her awake. "Oh, thank god." She sighs as Henry moves to secure the rest of the bar as Danny stops the jukebox.
"What happened?" Henry rushes over to them.
"Wakefield busted in. He killed Nikki first, so Shane told us to go. We all went to the bathroom, and the others escaped through the window. When I was about to go, Wakefield came in and grabbed me. Shane told him to let go of me, so he went to go finish him. I tried to stop him, but he tossed me aside, knocking me out." Jennifer slowly sits up and then sees Shane covering her mouth. "Where's Jimmy?" She gets worried.
"He's not here." Abby tells her.
Henry and Danny work to get Shane down and then lay him and Nikki next to each other to cover them up. Abby says Wakefield has changed, the game, becoming overt with his murders. Danny becomes scared, and Jennifer tells him that they need to finish Wakefield off.
Suddenly the church bell rings out, and Henry believes the bell to be Trish, while Abby suggests it may be a trap.
At the church, Henry, Abby, Jennifer, Trish, Chloe, and Danny are reunited. "You're okay." Trish was glad to see Jennifer.
"Sorta. I think I have a tiny concussion still." She tells her.
Abby asks about Jimmy, discovering that he has gone missing, and Chloe asks about the bell. Abby leads the group inside in an attempt to find the bell ringer. Danny lights a candle while Trish attempts to cope with the crime scene of her father's death.
Trish apologizes to Abby about Charlie when Chloe screams out. The group runs over, discovering Patrick Lillis' body in a pew. A car's headlights are cast on the church, startling the group.
They run to the door, and they find Sully and Cal, so Jennifer rushes to Sully wrapping her arms around him and he does the same to her.
"There's no boat." He tells the group as Cal asks where Chloe is.
"She was just here." They tell him, realizing she is missing now.
As day breaks, the group continues searching for Chloe in the church. Trish pulls out the map of the island's tunnels, suggesting Wakefield could have taken Chloe underground.
A bang is heard, and the group readies their weapons as Jimmy enters the church. Jimmy explains that he woke up in The Cannery, finding Shane and Nikki dead, and walked to the town to find it deserted, winding up at the church after hearing the bell. Jimmy asks how he arrived at The Cannery, and Trish explains that Wakefield brought him.
Cal calls out, leading everyone to a hidden entrance to the tunnels. Abby decides to block all entrances to the tunnels as they head to an unknown point on the map. Henry assigns people to block each entrance as he, Abby, and Cal head into the tunnels.
Danny, Sully, and Jennifer head to the hotel to block off the entrance from there. "You okay, man?" Sully asks Danny.
"Yeah. I just lost it for a while. Abby's dad hanging like that. Nikki and Shane. It was awful, man." Danny tells him. "I'm glad you're safe, though. I wasn't sure Cal would have you back."
"Cal's okay. He stayed awake while I dug a bullet out of his shoulder." Sully tells them.
"He's tougher than you thought, huh?" Jennifer speaks up.
"Yeah. But it's not... it's not just that. It's him and Chloe. He really loves her."
"Yeah, well. I always liked Cal." Danny adds
"You like everybody." Sully tells him.
"So?"
"So, I wish I had that." Sully tells him while Jennifer watches him from behind walking.
When they get to the hotel, they head down to the kitchen to board up the tunnel entrance. As they gather wood to board it up, Jennifer decides to speak up about what Sully said.
"Did you mean it?" She asks him.
"Mean what?" He asks, not stopping what he was doing.
"That you love me?" She asks, so he stops to look at her.
"What if I did?" He says, nervous about her response.
"I would say... I love you too." She walks closer to him.
"You do?" He asks, surprised.
"I've always had a thing for you but was scared because of the type of guy you were." Her eyes scan his face.
"How long is always? Exactly?" He smiles.
"Since we were sixteen." She smiles, so he kisses her.
"Wow," Danny walks in to see them, "What happened to never going to happen?" He chuckles slightly.
"Shit happens." Jennifer tells him as they go to board it up.
Once they were done, Sully resolves to be more open with people. Sully prepares to place more boards over the entrance as a banging is heard on the door, causing them both to jump to their guns. They empty four shells into the door, and Danny peers into a bullet hole.
"Don't do that." Jennifer tells him as a sawed-off metal pipe is shoved through a hole and retracted.
"Okay, you were right. I'm scared." Sully tells Danny since not even a minute ago, he told him that. "Our friends are in there with that." He adds
"I know, I'm feeling guilty too. We have to go in there." Danny agrees.
"This is going to suck." Sully sighs before they break down the boarded parts.
"I'll go first." Jennifer tells them.
"No, no way." They tell her.
"He won't kill me. He's had the chance many times, and when came face to face, all he did was knock me out." She explains to them.
"Jennifer." Danny sighs.
"I'm his daughter... I go first." She says so they let her take the lead in the tunnels. After some time, they make it out of the pipe looking around before continuing.
Sully suggests that they should split up, and Jennifer and Danny were against it but slowly kind of give in.
"I can be sorta bait?" Jennifer suggests.
"Maybe, but he'll go after someone he wants to kill first. So you stick with me. While Danny is bait." Sully says.
"Do what he says. Hopefully, it works." Danny tells her.
As Danny passes and Wakefield steps out behind him, Sully successfully fires a shot at Wakefield, wounding him. Danny and Sully keep their guns fixed on Wakefield as Abby and Henry arrive. Sully decides to let Abby kill Wakefield, but she hits him in the face with her rifle instead.
"If you won't kill him, I will." Jennifer tries to take her gun, but Abby backs away.
"Yeah, what was that? We should kill the bastard." Sully agrees with her.
"That's not our job man." Danny tells him.
"Who says? He deserves it. Everyone he's killed." Jennifer tells them as Danny suggests tying Wakefield up and taking him to the police station, and Sully relents, telling him they're making a mistake.
"If anyone else gets killed because of this mistake... I'll kill them myself." Jennifer tells Sully as they walk from the three.
"I don't think I'll stop you." He tells her.
Henry has Danny and Sully tie up Wakefield with their belts and consoles Abby as she regrets not killing Wakefield.
"Abby, you're not a killer." Henry tells her.
"I'll be one if I have to." Jennifer looks at Henry before looking back at Wakefield.
"No, you wouldn't." He tells her.
"Wanna bet, Henry?" She walks over to him, "I shot through the bathroom door to stop him. If I didn't run out of bullets before he busted the door open... I would have shot him right in the chest. Why? Because he deserves it. He killed many people, but he killed Charlie, Kelly, Nikki, and Shane, and I've known them my whole life. I grew up with them. Not to mention your brother... He may be my real dad, but he's not my dad. My dad hated me, and I prefer him over Wakefield."
At the Sheriff's Station, Henry and Danny lock Wakefield into a cell. Henry goes to find Trish and Jimmy, and Abby decides to retrieve Shea and Madison from the attic.
While Sully looks through things, Jennifer walks away to go see Wakefield. "Why?" She stops in front of him, "Why do all of this?"
"All part of our plan." He tells her.
"Our? Who is part of our?" She asks him.
"You're other brother." He smiles slightly.
"You found your other child? He agreed to do this?" She says shocked.
"Making up lost time. You should join in on family bonding. You might already be very close to your brother; who knows?"
"When you had the chance to kill Jimmy... why didn't you?" She asks him.
"Sheriff made a deal to keep him safe... Your brother also has his reasons. Plus, it's to mess with you and Abby. Easy way to make him suspicious to others." He eyes her, "Everything will be right once this is over."
Sully walks in with Danny following him. "Hey! Back away from the bars." Sully walks up, moving Jennifer away.
"Sully, what are you doing?" She asks him.
"I said back away from the bars." Sully says and he doesn't so he tases him, "He didn't back away. Come on, let's get him out of here." Sully talks about Deputy Garrett's body.

Shooting Final exercice
07/12
oooooooouuuuuuuffff 4 am is early. Due to the scene being a deserted night to shoot, we thought it best to shoot early in the morning rather than at night to avoid having extra background noise, but more importantly to not have anyone extra in our shots. We got up at 4 am three days in a row to shoot practically everything except for the Orson Welles close-up and the german lady at the window. Thank goodness Tom had coffee at his flat because I would have died. Although on the call sheet I wrote about providing catering by having a place to get coffee nearby, it didn't occur to me that everywhere would be closed at 4 am. Last minute I decided to get cereal bars to give us some energy (like when on a hike), but unsurprisingly no one seemed particularly keen on them. So note for future shoots: get guilty pleasure snacks, especially if it's an early shoot. On set was stressful. I don't think I felt very confident with my group and shooting was pressured by our time restriction with the sunrise. We were also 4/5 or 3/5 from our group on set which meant we were juggling the jobs at times. The last day of shooting was when I was most tense: we discovered last minute that where we wanted to shoot wouldn't be possible. It was a scramble to find somewhere new, and the sun was rising. Eventually, thanks to the help of our cast, we found what we needed and set up quickly. As Producer/AD, I was discussing with DOP and Director how to do the shot but lost my patience with them at their lack of seriousness. Discussing how to do the shot was their job, not mine. I come from a background in group work, so I have high expectations of what working as a group should be. However, I am aware that it is not the case for everyone, and need to learn to do group work with those who aren't as familiar with it as I am. The most challenging piece to film was the shadow under the archway. We had the car front lights on to cast the shadow, but no matter how we placed the car (taking location restrictions into account), we didn't quite get it. I was cast as the shadow so I was running back and forth between the DOP, Matthew in the car for lights, then back to my mark, back to DOP, and DOP running to change my mark. I was exhausted by the end of day two. From the little footage of the take we decided to go with, I'm a little disappointed. It was what I had most been looking forward to shooting, but other than that, the rest looks pretty good. Truth be told, by the end of this first trimester, I am very much looking forward to changing production group. Although my group is full of nice people, they aren't people I feel I work with or collaborate well with. I am an organised person which is why I took on roles that required organisation, but I am a more creative person. I didn't feel creatively comfortable with this group, therefore I am itching to show what I am capable of next trimester. During these Christmas holidays, I have planned with friends to recreate some of the exercises given in class to reinterpret them to my liking with people I collaborate well with. In addition, I intend to do plenty of reading (film, art, psychology) and go out to exhibitions, feeding myself ideas and visual/artistic references.
recently watched: Lady Chatterley's Lover by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, Trainspotting by Danny Boyle, Phantom of the Opera by Joel Schumacher, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (for the 100th time), Wednesda by Time Burton, Promising Young Woman by Emerald Fennell

All Might didn't really know how to feel about one student in particular.
He was a good student, and had a knack for heroism, but there was something that just seemed a little off about him. He hadn't been able to place his finger on it until he watched the Sports Festival.
Danny had multiple powers, and he had the same white hair as Number One and All for One. With both of them, they had this ethereal, almost unearthly vibe from either being over two hundred years old or haunting a two hundred year old quirk. Danny have off the same vibe. When he got serious in a battle, it was foreboding. A promise that he would come out successful.
It was the same feeling he got when he fought AfO.
Could...Could he be somehow related to the ancient villain?
And All Might had put it in the back of his mind because Danny has never hesitated to do the right thing. To save everyone at the expense of himself, and to make sure everybody is okay. He never fails to put a smile on a victims face, or joke around with his classmates.
But All Might is no idiot. Not when it comes to picking out villains. Danny is hiding something, he can tell. And he plans to get to the bottom of it, no matter what.
----------
"There's gotta be a traitor," Mic says matter-of-factly at there meeting post-Kamino. And though shock ripples across the meeting table, All Might can't help but think of Danny. He was as heroic as they came but maybe-maybe it was something else. Maybe it was a front. He could walk through walls, disappear, and fly. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think he'd sneak out and have secret meetings with the League of Villains.
He shares this opinion, and about the weird vibes he gets. About his multitude of powers and how he seems to get a new one every week. Everybody brushes him off, though he does catch a calculating look from Aizawa. He's very protective of his students, so for one to be called out like that certainly doesn't sit well with him.
But All Might is not a stupid man.
So after their meeting, he stays behind to talk to Nezu, because if anybody was going to understand his concerns, it was the only other staff member who know about One for All and All for One. And when Nezu agrees that Danny is an anomaly, and not one to be taken lightly, he knows, deep down that Danny has some sort of relationship with the League that goes beyond villain vs. hero.
But they need to be patient. First, they need to move the students into the dorms. And then they needed to set up counseling sessions with the hero students, and make sure that they were doing okay. They were heroes in training, soldiers being bred for the front lines but at the end of the day they were still children, and Nezu was not going to let All Might forget about that.
That was fine, though. He was a patient man.
-----------
Danny had never been so nervous in his life. He was more than excited about about moving into the dorms with his friends. He had the freedom to be himself here, power and all, where at home he was hiding behind a very thin lie. If his parents looked a little harder, cared a little bit more, they'd be able to make the connection themselves, but they just didn't care enough. He doesn't know how to feel about that.
But he does know that he's excited for the opportunity to just be.
After Kamino, things go back to normal soon enough. Classes start right where they left off, and the comradery between the hero students is stronger than ever. It's like a breath of fresh air, and without the threat of his parents finding out his secret looming over his head, school came easier than ever.
But he couldn't help like he was being watched.
For the entire first week, something had him on edge and he couldn't quite place it. It wasn't from Kamino or the training camp, he knew that much. Real life battles were not a foreign experience for Danny. Looking death in the face and coming out on the other side was second nature. But back at school, he knows something is wrong.
And just when he gets the courage to try and go up to Aizawa about it, he gets called to the principal's office.
When he gets there Nezu is sitting in his big comfy chair. All Might is standing behind him, his blue eyes hard and piecing, as if he's already decided Danny's fate. Aizawa is standing off in the corner, and though he's wearing a neutral face like always, Danny can tell that he's absolutely seething. His shoulders are taught and he looks about ready to jump into action at a moments notice. Half of his face is hidden by his scarf, but it does nothing to hide how he's glaring daggers at All Might.
"Take a seat, Mr. Fenton," Nezu says, gesturing to the couch in front of the desk. Danny does as he's told, glancing over at Aizawa. He's looking at Danny now, and he looks...He looks sorry. That's the only way Danny can describe the defeated, weary look he's got going on.
And man, if Danny wasn't on edge before, he sure as shit was now.
And he was absolutely terrified. Did they know about his secret? About how he used to be quirkless? Were they going to kick him out of the hero course? If they did he's probably be barred from other schools, and then disowned or something.
HIs anxiety was starting to spike, but he did his best to school it. But he could tell from the way All Might shivered that he wasn't doing as good of a job as he had hoped.
"What...What is this about?" Danny asked, looking at them warily.
"We just have a few questions to ask you," Nezu said. He sounded much too cheerful compared to the thick tension that hung in the air. It was absolutely suffocating.
"Okay...? Go ahead, I guess."
"As you are well aware of, All for One was taken into custody following the Kamino Ward incident," Nezu starts. "He's a very old villain who has the ability to take and give powers as he pleases, and we have confirmed that he has been orchestrating the League of Villains from the very beginning."
"That's...A lot," Danny says in the silence that lasts just a little too long. "But I don't understand what that has to do with me."
"We suspect that there is somebody on campus who has been feeding information to All for One and the League," Nezu continues. "And we have reason to believe that that person is possibly you."
Danny felt like he was blue screening. All coherent thought left his mind as he sat there, stammering absolute nonsense. Because why? Had he done something for them to think that he was the one who betrayed his class? His friends? Has he not proven himself to be hero material? Has he not done enough?
Or was it just a biased prejudice. Did they think this because he was creepy? Or maybe because he was quirkless before U.A? There was no telling, but both reasons left a bad, bitter taste in his mouth. He honestly felt like throwing up.
Because of course this would happen to him. Of course he would die and then get into the school of hid dreams, only to be accused of being a traitor. And it hurt in more ways than one. There was the familiar ache of rejection sitting comfortably in his chest, and he fought hard to keep the tears at bay.
"I'm not," he said around the lump in his throat. "I'm not a traitor. I would never do that."
He can't stop the trembling in his hands as his anxiety spikes once more. He feels like his world was tipped on it's side and shaken so hard he couldn't tell which way was up anymore.
"Do you have proof?" All Might asks, speaking over Nezu's head. "You share a resemblance with All for One, and as stated he gives and takes quirks to suit his benefit. Fenton, how did you get all of your powers? None of them are related in the slightest. Not only that, but I looked at your middle school file. You were quirkless until U.A. What changed?"
"It's-it's not like that," he tells them. He glances over at Aizawa, who, though surprised, is trying to comfort him with his gaze.
"Then please explain, Mr. Fenton," Nezu says calmly. It wasn't fair that he got to sit there and pretend like everything was okay after he's all but destroyed Danny's perception of U.A.
"It's-it's a wild story. And I don't know if you'll believe me," Danny admits, because there's no way out of this. Not unless he spills the beans on the fact that he's a half dead freak of nature who's essentially been haunting the school since the beginning of the year.
"Try us," and to his surprise, it's Aizawa that speaks. He's moving closer now. His dark eyes are absolutely unreadable to Danny, but there's no threat. Not with Aizawa. his body language, and just overall vibe when it comes to his students, is open and inviting. Because he actively wants to help people. It's the complete opposite of All Might, with taught shoulders and set jaw, his eyes unwavering as they bore into Danny.
So he takes a deep breath and he tells them. He looks at Aizawa the entire time, taking comfort in his encouraging words and thoughtful questions. He tells them about how his parents are dumb but smart, and he tells them about how he and his friends were dumb teenagers looking for an indoor adventure and they just bit off more than they could chew. He tells them about what it's like, being split apart and haphazardly put back together again, and you're you but not really, and you're alive but not really, and you're absolutely terrified but not really. Because it's too much and overwhelming and the only coping mechanism you've ever known is disassociation or just plain old bottling it up and shoving it down into the recesses of his mind to never see the light of day again.
And to drive his point home, he switched to his Phantom form. The only one who reacts is All Might, who goes into more of a fighting stance. But Nezu just sits there and sips his tea and Aizawa is sitting there, encouraging him, because he's Aizawa. The only adult who's ever given a genuine shit about Danny. The only one who's ever reached out. The only one who's ever noticed when something is wrong and he refuses to let it go until he's okay again.
So with the comfort of his teacher he takes off his left glove.
In his Fenton form, it's pale, nearly invisible even. If you're not looking for it, you probably won't notice. Sometimes his hand shakes uncontrollably because he can still feel the phantom pains of being electrocuted to death. On particularly bad days it aches so bad he can't curl his fingers at all. If anybody asks, he could probably pass it off as a training accident that left him permanently damaged.
But when he's Phantom, more dead than alive, it glows a bright, unearthly green. It's the color of his eyes when they burn angrily. It's the same color of the ectoplasm that stains his bathroom.
It's the color of death.
Aizawa gingerly takes his hand, tracing his fingers against the Lichtenburg figure that travels all the way to his core. Ever since his death he's always ran cold, and he's always found a comfort in that. Heat has always hurt him, whether it be from the ectoguns his parents make or Todoroki's fire in a training accident. But Aizawa's hands are warm and safe and they grip his mutilated hand like it's the most precious thing on the planet.
"Why...Why didn't you say anything?" He asks. His voice is soft, but there's no hurt or accusation. Just pure curiosity, and maybe a bit of regret, though for what Danny doesn't isn't sure.
"In any other setting would any of you believe me?" He asked. "I'm the one who died and I still can't believe it sometimes. It's a crazy, unbelievable story."
Aizawa only nods, and squeezes his hand one more time before letting go. Danny puts his glove back on, and turns back to Fenton. Nezu is sipping his tea but his eyes are sharp and calculating. All Might looks somewhere in between surprised and 'my puppy just got kicked.' Danny isn't sure how to feel about the fact that his teacher was rooting for his demise.
"Well," Nezu breaks the tense silence. "I do apologize for bringing you in under such circumstances. But with the villains preparing for some big plays, we just had to make sure. You have proven time and time again that you are and will be an exceptional hero. I will do everything in my power to regain your trust in myself and this institution."
Danny doesn't really know what to say so he doesn't even try. He just nods, and takes All Might's stilted bow in stride. He's led out by Aizawa, and as soon as they've turned the corner, he's being brought into the best hug of his life.
"I'm sorry you felt like you couldn't come to me like this," he tells Danny. And Danny goes to open his mouth, to tell him that it's not his fault Danny is a paranoid asshole with issues. But instead a lump forms in his throat, and all he can do is hug Aizawa back as he finally, finally let's himself cry.
The following weeks during foundational heroics aren't quite the same. All Might won't meet his gaze, and Aizawa is there for every lesson now, just in case. Because he puts Danny's wellbeing over his coworker's comfort. Nobody has ever put Danny first, and it makes him more than a little emotional.
He doesn't think he'll ever be able to trust Nezu the same as he did before all of this. U.A. and most of its staff, sure, but not the people who were in there, ready to arrest him at the drop of a hat over a hunch.
He doesn't want to know what would happen if Aizawa hadn't been there.
(He doesn't want to think about what cell he'd be thrown into, or what table he'd be strapped down to. So instead he throws himself into his school and training, and only comes out for movie nights and to swap romance manga with Bakugou.)
He knows he's got at least one adult, and his entire class, and that makes everything else manageable.
And right now, that's enough for him.

gvf headcanon | they take care of you when you're sick
Tumblr media
request: so i’ve had a nasty cold the past couple days and i’ve felt absolutely miserable. could you maybe do a head cannon of the boys taking care of you while you’re sick? ily! 🥺🥰
warnings: mentions of vomit and throwing up
Tumblr media
danny.
im starting with him because i did a whole fic about this. like i wrote back then, i know danny wouldn't give two shits about catching whatever you have (if it's contagious). and if it's not contagious, he would like still be by your side any time. i also have to admit, though, he wouldn't be exactly the best nurse. i just don't see him knowing exactly what to do, more like coming up with quick solutions that may or may not work. but he would still be very alert to you, probably worrying with every single thing or noise you make.
like imagine this: you had been suffering this painful fever all day. it started with stomach ache and then developed into a fever. danny had been by your side since the very first moment you began feeling awful. his chicken soup did not help at all and he was struggling to find a way to get rid of, at least, the stomach ache. as he was finding solutions on the internet, you began coughing. danny's poor eyes opened widely, and in less than two seconds he had walked down the stairs in a rush to be by your side.
"what's wrong? what made you cough? are you alright? do you need anything?" he was barely giving you time to answer, as his hands were touching your body to check if you were alright
"i think i'm catching a cold, don't worry" you reassured him, knowing your body pretty well.
he would not stop worrying, anyways, and he soon made you check your temperature like three times. it was better to overworry and overwork than to not do anything at all, right?
sam.
we have over here the master at service. expect to feel better within a day, as this man would not let you rest until you were feeling a 100% ok. he would cook for you, take your temperature, even bathe you if you two are dating. i fee like he would be completely sweet? like he would probably be mad that you didn't take care of yourself and got sick, but he also would know how hard it is to not feel alright and so he wouldn't say a thing.
and you called him that day, complaining about waking up to throw up. he was at your place three seconds after you called, as he was not going to let you suffer alone. sam had, under his arm, a pillow, blankets and on his shoulder a backpack, as he promised to stay around while you healed completely. he ended up installing himself in your living room, spending the amount of days necessarily until you felt well. the one night you woke up again to throw up, he woke up almost instantly, following you to the bathroom to help you out.
"that's it, let it go" he commented, holding your hair/necklaces, so you wouldn't get them stained
"god, it hurts" you complained before continuing to throw up
"i know, but you need to clean your stomach" you felt his hand caressing your back, in an attempt to make you feel better
once it was over, sam helped you back into bed and made you stay awake as he prepared you another chicken soup that (in this case) had worked perfectly.
josh.
no, josh would be mad. unlike sam, he would nag you all the goddamn time, complaining that you never take care of yourself. expect a little intervention before anything, with questions about why on earth you didn't wear a coat when the weather required it, and more. but once the anger was gone, josh would be the biggest teddy bear, helping you out as much as he could. maybe there's not much he does, but his support and company is enough.
let's say you're dating, alright? you don't live together, but you are in a relationship and, so, josh would decide to stay at your place to take care of you. after his little questionnarie to know why you ended up in that situation, josh began doing your chores. while you stayed in bed coughing and blowing your nose, josh was cleaning your apartment, keeping it tidy and pretty as you couldn't do it yourself. at the end of the day, you didn't want him to sleep with you, afraid of having him catching your cold.
"you sing for a living, joshua, you can't just have a sore throat tomorrow" you told him, crossing your arms as your boyfriend wouldn't leave the bed
"i want my good night kiss! and i don't care about catching a goddamn cold, i need you!" he was a pouting mess and you tried your best to win this argument that you were already losing
"you're gonna make yourself sick and i don't want it to be because of me" you pouted too, trying to use his own weapon.
you failed, as josh loved your pouts so much he couldn't resist kissing it. before you could complain about it, he added.
"if anything, it was because of me"
jake.
i have this feeling, there would be a lot of teasing, behind a lot of love and comfort. like danny, he has no idea what to do for you. he would be a cute servant, letting you boss around. as long as you're getting better, he's doing anything for you. but also, he probably is going to tease you a lot, not in a mean way, but to make you laugh. like the relationship would always be like this and would intensify when you're not feeling good (mentally or physically), because he knows it makes you smile.
jake had spent the entire day following each one of your requests. he went to the grocery store for supplies when you asked, he prepared you a shower when you needed it and he learnt any possible recipe from the internet that you wanted. he groaned the second he sat on the couch, as you asked him to bring another blanket.
"come on, collaborate a bit with me, i feel like shit" he complained as your boyfriend still stood up to help you out
"you sure do look the part" he responded, making you throw a pillow at him
"shut up, asshole" you were still laughing as he came back with the requested object
"make me" it did not sound horny at all, as he pulled out his tongue towards you, like a rebellious five year old. you two shared another silly laugh as he, once again, sat beside you.

AN~ So I've never written something like this before and I don't know how this has turned out...
A huge thank you to @jamespotterthefirst, for pre-reading this and her kind words and tips. You're amazing! 💕
AU where the MC died in the attack. Pairing: Ethan x F!Mc Casey Valentine.
Warning: destructive behaviour, mentions of death.
If You Ever Come Back
Tumblr media
He had failed.
He had failed and broke his promise to her that she would be okay, that it wouldn't be the last time.
The apartment was cold and dark but Ethan didn't care, he couldn't feel it, he couldn't feel anything but numbness that her death brought.
Drowning his pain with alcohol didn't work, it was as if she had burned herself into every part of him, sober or drunk. Nothing helped ease the hole she had left.
In a fit of anger Ethan stood and threw the glass of bourbon at the wall, where it shattered into a thousand tiny pieces.
But it wasn't enough.
With a cry of anger he flipped his coffee table and it made a loud crash, the glass top cracked slightly. Ethan bent down and picked up one of the books and began pulling it apart, ripping the pages from the spine.
She was gone.
Casey was gone and there was no bringing her back. No second chances, no telling her just how much he cared for her.
She would never know.
Ethan fell to his knees breathing deeply, he wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't come. The range he felt moments ago, faded down into that empty, hollow feeling.
He had been holding her in his arms, watching helplessly through the hazmat suit as she closed her eyes falling asleep, but never to wake again.
It was all his fault, he couldn't save her in time. He should have seen something, anything, to stop Travis and the attack. He shouldn't have allowed her to convince him to bring Ed to Edenbrook.
She would still be alive.
The others had been working on a cure, and they had found one. Just too late for Casey. When her friends had excitedly come to the window, tired and proud he couldn't look at their faces as he broke the news.
The cry of horror and pain from Dr Trinh, Sienna, would forever haunt him. He vagly remembered how he had watched the young doctor collapse into her friends arms.
Everything else was black, he didn't remember what happened after he broke the news. He wasn't even sure what was happening now.
A soft knock at the door filled his mind, but he couldn't move. His body refused to move and he was too tired to fight.
"Dr Ramsey?" A small voice sniffed through the door. "It's Sienna"
Ethan's eyes moved to the door, but he remained in place, his throat tightened with emotion and he couldn't speak. He wanted to tell her to leave, he wanted to yell.
"Dr Ramsey?" Sienna called softly. "Dr Ramsey I'm coming in"
The door opened slowly, and the petite doctor stepped into the apartment. Ethan could see her face was red and puffy even from here. Her eyes took in the scene before her before she carefully crossed the room.
Ethan remained silent as the young doctor crouched down in front of him, her red eyes filled with unshed tears, and he could see the pain and pity shining in them.
Usually, Ethan would scoff at the idea of someone pitying him but he couldn't bring himself to care.
"I know" Sienna whispered to the broke attending.
Ethan remained silent, Sienna understood his pain. Though the elder doctor had only shared that he and Casey were more than colleagues a few days ago, she knew better.
She had seen him leave their apartment the morning after the trial. She had seen how devastated Casey had been when he left for the Amazon. If that wasn't enough to convince the young doctor, the small touches, the longing gazes the pair sent one another when one wasn't looking told her.
Sienna carefully moved forward and wrapped her arms around his neck. Ethan didn't move, not to stop her but he didn't accept the hug either.
It felt strange, it wasn't warm or as comforting as when Casey hugged him. But he wasn't in love with Sienna.
He barley remembered the last time he was truly happy. It must have been the night of Casey's trial, they had been laying in her bed together.
Casey's eyes were fixed on his face, a strand of her soft hair obscured her face, he tentivly reached out and brushed it from her face. His fingertips lightly trailed over her cheek, her skin soft under the rough pads.
"Can you stay the night?" she whispered a soft blissful smile on her face.
"I can't" he shook his head ruefully. Casey nodded in understanding.
Ethan let his eyes roam over her face, from this distance he could see the light dusting of freckles on her face. Her bare shoulders had a few dotted here and there. Without realising what he was doing, he gently trail his finger from one freckle to another, drawing an unknown pattern on her skin.
"You keep doing that, I'll fall asleep" Casey breathed out, her eyes fluttering shut.
Ethan allowed himself a rare true smile, reserved just for her as he continued his pattern. Casey wriggled closer to him, resting her head on his chest.
His hand moved from her shoulder and into her hair, where he soothingly ran his fingers through the soft stands. A few moments later, soft snores filled the room.
Ethan looked down at the sleeping woman in his arms. He pulled her tighter against him as he placed a soft kiss to the top of her head.
He didn't want to move, not when he was so blissfully happy and he knew it would be over the moment he left her bed.
Just a little longer, he convinced himself.
"We'll get through this, for her- for Danny too" Sienna whispered bringing Ethan back to the present sharply.
Ethan wanted to tell her she was wrong, that nothing would stop the pain he was feeling. That he couldn't get through this because Casey wasn't there to help him.
But he couldn't.
Sienna moved away from him and stood, she began cleaning the mess he had made by picking up the papers. He could feel her presence leave the room, to return a few moments after with a dust pan and brush, for the broken glass.
She worked in silence, her eyes flittering to the attending ever so often. But he remained in the same state. On his knees, a blank expression on his face, but she could see the broken hidden in his eyes.
Once she had finished Sienna headed back to stand in front of Ethan. Her hands fell to his shoulders.
"You should sleep, or have something to eat" she whispered.
Nothing.
Sienna took a deep breath and gave a small nod.
"I'm going to go, I'll stop by tomorrow with some food, maybe you'll be able to manage something then"
Sienna turned and headed to the door, her small hand rested on the handle as she glanced back at the broken man.
"We'll get through this" she repeated quietly before she turned and left.
Ethan was once again left in the darkness and he realised he preferred it that way.
Casey Valentine, the love of his life was gone and she was never coming back.
