this isn't too relevant but I have to include it. it's too cute. I definitely see shisui getting married pretty young, like early 20s. if he finds his person he's going for it. probably gets a lot of shit for it from his family, but he doesn't care

loooong honeymoon period. in part because they're still a young couple but also... shisui is just a really devoted husband. he loves the married life. insists on kissing her goodbye every morning, eating together every night, stuff like that

LOVES DECORATING THEIR HOUSE are u kidding me. let's say they get a kinda shitty place right after they get married, and put a tonne of work into doing it up. he gets so into painting, building the furniture, even starts up a little herb garden in their kitchen

finds so many ways to drop his wife into conversation lol. he's down bad even after the honeymoon period ends, so he wants to show her off. his FAV is when she swings by his workplace to bring him his 'forgotten' lunch. he turns around to the rest of the guys like. yeah. that's my WIFE. isn't she hot.

very much a believer in keeping the romance alive. he wants to keep making the effort with her until the day he dies. veryyyy good at remembering anniversaries, scheduling regular date nights, etc. always makes sure she has fresh flowers in the house

obviously it isn't all perfect though. especially while they're young (and presumably both still active, high-ranking shinobi) their schedules keep them apart a lot. and this hits shisui really hard tbh. he hates coming back to an empty home after a long mission, knowing he might not even see his wife before he has to leave again

work is probably where most of their arguments stem from, actually. I don't see it being a regular thing, but it's easy for resentment to build in those kinds of situations. shisui is very torn between his love for his village, and his love for his wife, and the fact he can't prioritise both. thankfully shisui is a good communicator so they make things work.

in terms of jealousy... I don't see it being a common thing. maybe before they get married he tends towards it a bit more, but once she's his wife, why would he worry? she's his entire world and he knows she loves him just as much

the only way I rly see him getting jealous at all is if they're going through a bit of a rough patch for the reasons mentioned above. maybe they haven't seen each other in weeks, and they both get back from a mission on the same day. and there's some kind of event/function that evening that they have to attend

so they barely have a chance to acknowledge each other, before they're pulled apart again by the crowd. so if shisui sees some random guy getting a little too close and flirty with her, he gets more annoyed than he'd like to admit

even then though.. he's not necessarily jealous as much as he is upset. like goddamn just let this poor man have his beloved wife to himself for a night. in this situation he's more likely to behave more rashly than usual, and he might just make some excuses and take her home lol. he gets a little bit pouty until she gives him some attention

overall, though, he's very chill. he trusts her implicitly, and expects the same from her. they need to have a very honest, respectful relationship if he's going to wife her up

god okay and in old age they're so cute together. I bet they have a bunch of kids (probably accidentally tbh lol) so then they end up with a whole squadron of grandchildren. he's that fun grandpa who sneaks them sweets when the parents aren't looking. all the grandbabies want to sleep over at their house. and they LOVE it.

to sum up: very good husband. very relaxed, communicates well, makes her feel loved every day. why did he have to die I want to throw myself off a bridge.

tobirama

first of all. good job to this woman. wrangling tobirama into marriage is not an easy job. he's so fucking ANNOYING. it probably takes him years to confess he even has feelings for her, let alone ask for her hand in marriage

but once he gets there. it's pretty cute. he doesn't really act very differently for the most part - he'd already decided his heart belonged to her well before they married, and wholly committed. so his behaviour doesn't change much, and there isn't much of a honeymoon period. sorry. he's like marriage is just a contractual agreement why would it change anything between us

he does make a few little indulgences though. he gets this smug little look every time he introduces her as his wife. he's actually just a lot more prone to 'showing her off' in general, and more likely to show some physical affection in public. for tobirama that's maybe a peck on the cheek lol. but it's progress

he's definitely a lot.... gentler?idk. with her once they're married as well. he makes an effort to be more patient and less snippy, and shows his appreciation for her in a lot of quiet little ways. for example, he'll be sure to leave work on time no matter how busy it is if he knows she's putting a lot of effort into dinner that night. or if she spends a second too long looking at a new dress in the store, he's buying it for her

on that note. tobirama is such a provider once they're married. he does have that traditional idea of providing for his wife. he'll probably ask her if she wants to become a stay at home wife tbh. if she says yes, he still expects her to get out in the community of course. he'd love if she did volunteering work, maybe at the hospital or with kids or something. but he's also equally happy for her to keep working. power couple vibes very strong

they have a nice, quiet little house away from the village where no one bothers then and they loooove it. especially tobirama, his wife and their home are his sanctuary. everyone else gtfo

other than that, not much is really different from before their marriage. they probably actually lead quite independent lives, to the point where people don't even know they're married until tobirama drops it into conversation a few months later. they're very private and lowkey.

unfortunately for her, tobirama's paranoia also persists. he's a bit delulu sometimes lol and she knows this going in. but it does inevitably cause some issues, especially if she's headstrong (which is definitely the type of woman he ends up with)

he trusts his wife more than anything. he would never doubt her for a second. but other men? the enemy. not to be trusted. they're all dogs. it drives him absolutely batshit crazy to watch them ogling her, or god forbid trying to flirt with her. which is actually kinda common bc they're such a lowkey couple, so people assume she's single

tobirama isn't one to make a scene per se, but this definitely leads to a few awkward situations in public, and she probably ends up embarrassed a few times. and there's 10000% arguments behind closed doors. I don't see either of them being good with this lol. he acts like she's his political enemy he's ridiculous

but because he loves her so much, and he actually really wants to put work into the longevity of their marriage, he'll come around. he's a lot softer and more willing to compromise when it comes to her. but she can't point that out because he's mortified

over time, he chills out a lot more. they're one of those couples that just get stronger and better with time. they grow a lot together, and although they probably continue to disagree a lot throughout their marriage, it's always in a way that leaves their relationship stronger. and he only gets softer for her. people (hashirama) even start to point out how devoted he is and he can't even deny it. cute

overall a kind of difficult husband, because he is an exceptionally difficult man, but my god he loves her so much. he would do anything to make her happy.

Given how first litter went, how did Poppyfrost react to being pregnant again? And basically everyone who knew about the Situation? Was Jayfeather the one to do the check up and tell her the news? Did Cinderheart had war flashbacks and just tell her straight up 'Poppy I SWEAR TO GOD if you drop another litter on my head I will kill you and then Berrynose AND then myself' (to which Poppy does a peace sign and fades away like that one meme)? Just Bad Time for everyone involved?

Her key trait is being avoidant. She wants to move on from her love for Jayfeather SO badly, she'll take anything.

Berrynose made her feel special, good, important...

So, having his kits felt good, too. She wants to focus on the kits she can raise with her mate so she can... forget move on from the churning feeling she gets in her belly, when she looks at Dovepaw and Ivypaw.

She would be trying to make small talk as Jayfeather does her check-up and confirm her pregnancy, just blowing RIGHT past the butter-thick tension in the room like she can't even tell it's there.

(She CAN tell it's there. Jayfeather can too. You could cut the tension with a knife. But she's straightup just trying to power through it.)

He thinks, again, to Leafpool. Is this what it was like for her? When Crowfeather had Breezepelt so soon after they'd parted ways?

He sorts through this in his mind, thinking about Crowfeather and Poppyfrost... no, they were quite different as far as cats go. But still, he wondered if the feelings he's having are things she had gone through as well.

They're still awkward with each other, though, so he still won't ask her. Lionblaze is closer to Leafpool than Jayfeather is-- Jay's still parsing his feelings towards his aunt, second mentor, and secret bio-parent.

For Cinderheart, Poppyfrost dropped a litter on her, directly caused Hollyleaf to snap and vanish, and then GHOSTED HER MAKING THE WHOLE THING FOR NOTHING

Cinderheart is coming hot off the heels of an arc about mindfulness, when she was younger she would have confronted Poppyfrost and revealed everything and caused a massive drama explosion

But nowadays, she's able to understand that this is a destructive impulse, she has two kittens to consider, Jayfeather is the Cleric and this revelation will ruin him too, Poppyfrost is moving on...

"I AM FULL OF GOOD WILL FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS," -Cinderheart, through gritted teeth

However, she does get closer to Honeysnake as a result

Because Honeysnake is, honestly? Kinda pissed

She broke off with Berrynose for a reason, he was awful to her while she was recovering from her snake bite and then made her Honor Title all about himself! He's a jerk! And Poppyfrost just WALTZED in!

She's supposed to be her sister, but now she's mates with her ex and pregnant with his kits.

Honey and Cinder are united in their frustration towards Poppy. Cinder can't reveal her secret, but it makes her feel better to listen to Honey gnash her teeth about the whole thing (and join in).

Others

Thankfully, none of the three girls involve Mama Sorreltail in the drama. Grandbabies are grandbabies, and so soon after Brackenfur died... They're all on their best behavior as a group around her.

Moleflight up in StarClan is happy for his sister. He wishes things could have been different and Jayfeather renounced his clerichood, but... he wishes Poppyfrost happiness.

Daisy is going to see her first grandkits! Berrynose is a snot, but he's also really close to his own family. Toadstep, Rosepetal, Hazeltail, and Mousewhisker are all very excited for him, and Poppyfrost loves her in-laws

(especially since Honey and Cinder are kinda... distant right now. And she loves her mom but Sorreltail's taking Brackenfur's death pretty roughly)

No one else in the Clan is aware that Jayfeather is the biofather of Dove and Ivy. He shares this secret with only Lion, Cinder, and Poppy herself, plus Holly who deduced it on her own and didn't take it well.

So~ Arab!Reader has been living in my head and heart for a while now so I wanna share some Reader-isms that are closer to my own cultural experience (ignore this if it's annoying btw no hard feelings whatsoever)

-Her love language is arguing, has not met a hill she wouldn't die on. will sometimes get on the table or ask him to crouch down so they can look eye to eye as she fights tooth and nail over something she stopped caring about like 10 minutes ago but she's having too much fun. calls him "your majesty" or Sultan/Sheikh sarcastically in every argument.

-He told her to just buy candles instead of burning incense that produces so much smoke since "they do the same job anyway", she reacted like he just insulted her ancestors.

-Not a drinker but has a minor coffee/tea addiction, knows every cafe nearby by heart and has a whole set up at home, loves making him try new drinks she found online or from her childhood.

-Will take a million pictures of everything and especially him, doesn't matter what's happening, it must be recorded "for our grandbabies, habibi🥺"

-Desert camping trips!! König can start the fire while she's in charge of preparing tea and coffee. she's mostly excited about finding a dune buggy to rent for a day that's actually comfortable for his size, they ride until sunset when both of them are a sand covered giggling mess. finally they get to cuddle and star gaze, keeping each other safe from the cold desert nights.

-if they ever get married this is an inevitable conversation:

"Liebe, you said we are having a small wedding"

"Mhm"

"the guest list is 600 people minimum..?"

"...yes?"

poor guy, his saving grace is that men have a very small role in weddings here, just sit, take pictures, cut cake, then leave with your bride. no need to write vows, dance, or even kiss in front of people.

-NO PDA!! hand holding is the most they do in public and even that's scandalous sometimes. he tried to kiss her hand in a shop once and she pulled it back so fast he was pouty for like two days after the fact. He learns to appreciate this though because he can clearly tell when she's feeling possessive in public when she clings to his side, loves to tease her about it; "a hand on my lower back, schatz? how indecent of you"

-Cat-calls him as he's going out of the shower but only in Arabic, so he doesn't know how to respond to the wolf-whistles and enthusiastic yelling, the only reason he's sure it's positive is that he gets his face squished soon after, he can at least make out the stretched out word 'Habiiiibiiiiiiii~" Cue flustered mess König

-calls him her Antara, one of the most famous and celebrated warriors in Arabian history, who was also a great romantic and wrote so many poems about his beloved Abla. (Antara Ibn Shaddad, if anyone is curious)

The arguing thing would get soooo interesting because I think that König has an anxious/disorganized attachment style so he’d try to avoid any kind of arguments and disagreements with his woman. If König can’t tame his darling, he’ll just let her have her way so that he doesn't have to suffer from the sudden tightness in his chest.

But... If she’s doing shit like climbing on the table to stare him down, König wouldn't be able to keep a straight face. He'd soon relax into the situation and then start to tease her about her temper. Corrects his posture so that he's still taller than her, and gives her a warm, knowing smile :) His Liebling is so cute when she's angry.

And lol König would be suspicious about the incense, he’s not used to that kind of stuff at all, but he’ll be damned before he says anything. Discreetly tries to open the window sometimes but closes it immediately if darling walks into the room (no use, she already saw him and he's going to get an earful).

But omg no pda??? Very hard for König but he will respect your wishes in this. You can see it in his eyes that he’s being a bit of a sad sulking puppy about it, of course it all dissipates if you put that hand on his lower back... This will be like foreplay to him, you're a forbidden fruit until you two are behind closed doors, and if you “break the rules” while he’s playing nice then whoo. Prepare to get your guts rearranged when you get home!

Still, if König can’t kiss his bride at the wedding he’ll start a war. 600 guests is negotiable, as long as he can kiss her in front of everyone and declare her as his own.

Pentious bawled holding her for the first time, he also loves babysitting but stresses himself out over wtf to do. Cherri thinks she's funny af, doesn't really know what to do with an infant but Rosé is always laughing when she's about so "hey I must be doing something right". Lucifer made her a lil duck toy which she adores and he is so 🥹 about it lmao

5) honest to god I do not have an answer to this 💀 if both were redeemed then yes she'd go with them, but if only one was then I have no clue HA

My Old Man

Pairing: Elvis presley x Black!Female!Reader

Summary: FLUFF! The reader and Elvis watch their grandson’s interview and listen on as he explains why he’s excited to get married.

Warnings: Mention of pills(the kind elderly people take), reminisces, Very breif mention of race issues (like, you’d miss it if you read too fast). I think that’s all but please let me know if there’s more!

A/N: I really like how this one turned out. It took me longer than i thought to read and edit. Plus when the creative juices are flowing i just keep adding. I’m rambling, happy reading!

I’m excited! Tonight, our grandson, Daniel, is being interviewed for one of these late-night shows. I settled into bed and turned the tv on. Elvis is finishing his nighty routine in the bathroom as I search for the right channel. When I find it, he still hasn't made his way out, "Honey, everything okay? You're gonna miss him!" He lets out a huff and mumbles, "Yeah, baby, I can't see the labels on the pills; we've gotta go and get new containers."

I roll my eyes and get up to help him; As I poke my head in, my face connects with my husband's pajama-clad chest "you have no faith in me, woman, alright, come on" he grabs my hand and walks me to the bed. Elvis shimmies under the covers in front of me. "I want to be the little spoon baby," I can't help the chuckle that escapes my chest.

"That's alright, E, but your daddy wasn't no glass maker; you're covering my grandbaby's face" My husband rolls his eyes and scoffs, "well, he stole it from me, Sugar" he stops his grumbling as our grandson's face graces the screen. The interviewer, James, asks him about his new movie and how he's been handling the success. We watch on proudly as he flies through question after question. Soon enough, the topic shifts to his personal life and his fiancee.

"So, Mr. Presley, you're getting married soon. Are you excited?" For the first time in the interview, we see this is where he really engages. He sits up straight, and there's a sparkle in his eye as he begins to speak.

"Please, Daniel is fine. And to answer your question, yes, I'm elated. I've met the woman I want to give my all to. She's the first thing on my mind when I wake up, and the last thing I think about before I close my eyes at night." Elvis shifts and wraps his arms around me, smiling as he kisses my temple.

James continues, " She sounds like a lucky girl. If you don't mind me asking, when did you know you wanted to marry her?" This question seems to stump Daniel; Elvis and I are invested now. We both sit up like kids listening in on adults gossiping. He starts again, "Well, if I'm, being honest, I knew the moment I met her."

James raises an eyebrow "really?" He questions, and Daniel nods.

"Yeah. Actually, It was my granddad who helped me figure that out." Elvis and I exchange a quizzical look.

"See, a few years ago, when I was like, fifteen, I asked him how he knew my grandma Y/N was the one. He told me that for him, the world stopped spinning, she took his breath away, and at that moment, she became the only woman he could see."

"Only woman, huh? I'm something special," I say as I nudge E with my elbow. His chest rumbles as he laughs "you sure are, honey, you sure are" James takes a moment to process what our grandson said. "Mrs. Presley is a lucky woman,"

Daniel laughs " Yeah, she tries to pretend that she could live without him, but you should see her when theyre apart, just miserable..." I can feel the smug look plastered on Elvis’s face without having to look, it only lasts a moment though "...Papa E ain't no better. I think he might be worse," He laughs.

James doesn't miss a beat. "Are you hoping for your marriage to play out like theirs?"

Daniel hums, "Oh absolutely, I mean not the struggle..." he says.

"…They had to fight even to be together legally; I think that's why they love each other as much as they do. One time I caught them slow dancing in the kitchen, no music or nothin'. They have such a strong bond, and I want to create something similar with my wife. Just two old souls in love." he says with a smile.

I feel my heart swell, and my eyes water a bit as I realize just how far we've come. Of course, Elvis has to go and ruin the moment. "Who's that boy callin' old?" I wipe my face with a smile "oh, hush up, El."

Daniel continues, "I just hope I get to be as happy as they are when I'm that old" Elvis can't help himself. "He said it again!" I hit him in the chest this time. "He's praising us, and you're worried about him saying we're old,"

Elvis chuckles at my disbelief. "That's 'cause we ain't, mama." I shake my head.

They begin to wrap the interview up " well, I'm sure I speak for all of us here at the studio when I say I wish you the best at this milestone and the ones to come. Unfortunately, that's all we have time for, so this has been Daniel Presley! Goodnight, everybody!"

Daniel and James wave goodnight. As the outro plays, I start to think about everything E and I have been through, and my lips start to curl into a smile as I look up at him.

"We did good, El" I murmer, he nods in agreement. "Damn right, baby, I love you," and the war begins, but I try to get ahead of him. "I love you more. Goodnight."

Before I even have the opportunity to roll over, he grips me tight flipping me so im facing him, " Uh Uh. Nice try, Honey. I love you most now Goodnight."

"Oh please, Impossible. I love you most, E" he raises a brow "you do now? You love me so much you'll do anything for me, right?" He questions. I wonder where he's going with this. I cave and respond, "Mmm, yes, E," I can see the mischief in his eyes " Then admit that I love you most, sugar," He says. Sigh, I've been beaten. I refuse to go out without a fight, though.

"Okay, only because it's you. My old man." He shoots up quickly "HEY-" I duck under the covers and close my eyes.

"Goodnight, baby!" I laugh . He huffs and pulls me close. "Goodnight, my old lady."

Cassandra loves being a mom! I mean, it goes without saying, since she chose to have children so she's all ready to love the little ones and all of that.

Normally, she doesn't really have any commitments or work. She does fill in for Bela when she can't be in some places. And at times, she has to travel with either Alcina or Miranda for business but that is only when it needs to happen. Her typical work day starts at around eleven in the noon, and it usually ends 3 to 4 hours later because girlie cannot handle working for longer than that.

Becoming a mother didn't change much, she still has her schedule and things to get to, but now she has little tots around. Normally, nannies handle the babies, and once they're cleaned and fed, Cassandra spends the rest of the day with them.

She's very loving and protective, like, she's territorial and possessive and this applies to her children. She isn't above doing anything to ensure their safety and everyone who knows her knows this fact about her.

Before kiddos started school, she spent most days with them at home, or they'd all go to the castle and have fun there because Alcina and Daniela adore the children so much.

Cassandra doesn't care if any of her daughters is very young, she has no problems discussing different topics with them as if they're adults, and as a result, her kiddos are very well-spoken and can talk about many different topics at a young age.

Not only there for deep talks, but Cassandra enjoys doing different things with her children. Shopping, getting their nails done, picking new (picture) books (and later on normal books, she's there for everything.

Despite that, she is prone to worry and must always know her children's whereabouts and who they're with, or else she gets anxious.

When it comes to a lot of things, she lets Wife handle things because she knows she can't. Like any time any of her children is sick, she lets Wife handle it and takes them to the doctor because Cass is just feeling so bad and panicky she doesn't know how to react or what to do.

For school, she loves attending all the different activities her children are involved in (nothing sports-related much to Wife's chagrin) but she loves being there and watching her children shine.

She loves to spoil her children, and yes she has rules but generally, she's just a pushover just like her mom.

Bela and Daniela:

They adore their nieces!

Like, in the Castle, the daughters have their own rooms which they never use because they're usually either sleeping with Alcina or their aunties because sleepovers are fun.

They'd get into Bela's closet and it's not an uncommon sight to see them walking around with her shoes on. Normally, when Daniela does this, Bela gets mad because she doesn't want anyone going through her things and trying them on without asking. But with the kiddos? She's okay with it and she even teaches them how to balance while they're walking in the too big heels they're trying to walk in.

Daniela loves spending time with the kids doing all sorts of things. from being chaotic to reading in the library, she's up for it all. She's also very protective over them, like it's not just fun and games but she's also very wary of any possible dangers and is always keeping an eye on her nieces.

The girls love being around their aunties; when they catch one of them going out they ask if they can come too because it's bound to be fun. Bela and Daniela never say no (unless where they're going isn't suitable for children) and they just bring the kids along. And of course, they always end up buying them treats and the like because yasss let's spoil the kiddos.

While Bela is a stickler for rules and gets snappy at her sisters, her nieces can do a lot worse and she wouldn't bat an eye at them. Just let them do as they please because 'are they hurting anyone?' then no, just let them be.

Bela gets the kiddos the best most over-the-top presents all the time because her nieces are special and they will stand out in every situation.

Can write a story where an S/O of Thomas and himself were being manipulated by Hoyt into having sex and make a baby boy, so that it can take over the family business and be the new butcher for when Thomas's life ends?

However, the S/O asks Hoyt what would happen if the baby turned out to be a girl, which the answer is that they would ditch the baby into the dumpster like Thomas's biological parents did. Which is a big problem since she always wanted a girl.

Turns out that it is a girl, so Thomas would have to stand guard and not let his uncle Hoyt lay a hand or an eye on his new daughter. Which was a huge fight and argument.

She is so pretty, let me see my grandbaby, if Hoyt comes in I'll hand her to you while I go and slap so common sense in him. Tommy nods, relaxing a bit seeing how Mama Mae loved the baby. He had her the baby and calls you over to tell you the good news. When he does you bury your face in Tommy's chest. Just when all of you get to laughing and talking Hoyt comes in. Mama Mae hands you the kid and gets in front of you and Tommy. "SO IT'S A FUCKING GIRL?!" He yells while taking a step forward. "NOW WHO THE FUCK IS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PLACE WHEN THOMAS IS GONE?!! NEVER MIND THAT, WHERE IS THE KID?! SHE IS ABOUT TO BE LIKE THOMAS AND BE ABANDONED!" He yells while walking towards yall getting closer and closer. Mama Mae yells. You stand there in shock because you have never heard Mama mae speak like that, you never thought she could. Tommy then lightly moves Mama Mae out of the way and brings Hoyt into another room. "Oh dear," Mama Mae says under her breath, the time that Hoyt and Tommy spent in the room was a while. You and Mama Mae just spent the time playing with the baby and trying to help console each other. About an hour later Tommy and Hoyt come out, Tommy walks over to you and places a kiss on your forehead while muttering "it's ok". You guys then hear Hoyt's voice again, "So after reasoning with Tommy I'll make a deal with yall, 1. You guys need to either try for another id till you have 2-3 kids or you guys can adopt a boy. If you only want this one then you really need #2 2. She can stay, BUT you will have to train her how to fight or have her at least be strong enough to take care of the house just in case. You really need this one if you only want her. 3. I get to name her because she is adorable from what I can see. You giggle at his response to finding your baby adorable. "so, can I hold the little girl? Tommy and you can be right by me." He says with a slight grin. "Sure," You say while waiting for Tommy to be by Hoyt. When he does get by him, you hand Hoyt the baby and watch his more cold demeanor drop, and soon an awe one was replaced.

Hope you're ready for way too much information on the Abbottsford family...

Cam & Violet

Fox's parents are Violet and Campbell (a.k.a. Cam) Abbottsford.

Cam is a mechanical engineer who specializes in the design and development of medical and healthcare devices. He's a partner in his engineering firm, and is essentially his own boss. Violet is a red seal chef, and has been the head chef at the Harbourside Haven Hotel in Newcrest for several years.

Violet loves to travel. Cam isn't as thrilled about travelling as his wife is, mostly due to his anxiety, but he's fine as long as he and Violet are together, and he usually enjoys himself on their adventures. Their favourite place to go is Tartosa, as they both love warm weather, water sports and going to the beach. Violet loves Tartosan food, and Cam loves to photograph and paint Tartosan landscapes. They typically take a trip there for two weeks each year, coinciding with their wedding anniversary.

Violet and Cam have two children, fraternal twins Fox and Clancy. Fox is a registered social worker and works in the area of child welfare. Clancy is an officer with the Willow Creek Police Department.

Cam likes to joke that the gene for twins is exceptionally strong in their family. His mother and aunt, Catherine and Fae, are twins, Cam and his sister Fiona are twins, and he has two sets of twin grandchildren, Camellia & Forest and Midori & Willow. (Technically, Midori and Willow are two-thirds of a set of triplets, but they’re identical to each other).

Cam and Violet had a lot of misgivings about their son's relationship and subsequent marriage to another man. They didn't think Takahiro was an appropriate match for Fox, not only because he's a guy but also because he's from another country and English is not his first language. They were equally upset by Fox and Taka's decision to have children through what they refer to as "the alien science method".

Violet changed her mind the moment she saw Camellia, Forest and Matsu for the first time. She decided that if she wanted to have the privilege of being a grandmother, she would have to learn to set aside her prejudices. It wasn't easy for her to unlearn all the pre-conceived ideas she had about people from other countries, the morality of same-sex and mixed-race marriage, and the ethics of Sixamish reproductive technology, but now she considers her efforts more than worth it. She loves to spend time with her grandbabies and spoil them shamelessly.

Cam is still not entirely comfortable with Fox and Takahiro and their big, happy family. He can't say he doesn't love his grandkids, but he continues to struggle with his own beliefs. Although he does his best to keep his opinions to himself when he’s around the children, Taka and Fox are fully aware that he's not okay with many of their choices.

Forest is Cam's favourite. Camellia and Matsu, who are very perceptive, have already seen through Grandpa's efforts to hide his prejudices and they are not his number one fans. They don’t like spending time with him nearly as much as Forest does.

Fox and Taka won't allow Cam to be unsupervised with the kids. They prefer Violet or Clancy to be around as well. Both Violet and Clancy know why this is, but they've never discussed it with Cam as they know it'd likely cause a situation that none of them really want to deal with.

Fox & Takahiro

Fox is a social worker, and he works for the provincial government, for the Department of Child and Family Services. His area of specialization is child welfare, and his caseload involves overseeing the wellbeing and developmental needs of kids in foster care, including ones who are being placed for adoption and those who are being re-integrated with their biological families. He's often thought about fostering, but he and Takahiro already have a full house, and it wouldn't be practical for them at the moment.

Takahiro is an early childhood educator. He currently works at a preschool, where all the students are three and four years old. His dream is to one day own and manage a daycare, but he thinks that will have to wait until his own kids are a bit older. Right now, he and Fox have their hands way too full to take on any extra responsibilities, especially something as big as that.

As a couple, Fox and Taka are a dynamic duo. They're good at balancing each other's strengths and weaknesses. Fox is a planner and organizer, and Taka is a person who gets things done. While Taka is good at seeing the big picture, Fox is extremely detail-oriented. They work well together as a team, and people who know them often joke that it's like they're thinking with the same brain. Of course that's not true; they have their disagreements, but they prefer to work out their differences in private. It's easy to appear as if they agree all the time about everything when they generally settle things between themselves before it somehow becomes public.

One of their secrets to success in their relationship is that they always put each other first. They both love their kids wholeheartedly, but no one is as important to them as each other. Despite the utter chaos of their work and home life sometimes, they make a conscious effort to have "grownup time". They still go on dates regularly, and every couple of months they try to get away overnight or sometimes even for a weekend without the kids. (The kids' favourite babysitter is Victor Okamoto-Nelson. Don't tell Aunt Clancy or Grandma Violet!)

Some of their friends don't agree with their approach, but they both think it's emotionally healthy for them to have time alone together. It allows the kids to get used to interacting with people other than their parents in a controlled, safe way in their own home, and it gives Taka and Fox the chance to rest, recharge and focus on things in their relationship that might need attention. It may be atypical, but it works for them.

As a matter of fact, there's nothing much that's typical about Fox and Takahiro's relationship. Their course was set on the day they first encountered each other, and they've been colouring outside the proverbial lines ever since.

After completing his Master’s degree in social work (child development & welfare), Fox decided to take a year to travel abroad. This was against the wishes of his extremely overprotective parents, who were convinced he’d never be able to look after himself and that something terrible would happen to him. Fox felt like he was essentially running away from home when he boarded a flight for Japan, and his parents felt the same way.

Fox struggled with being on his own in a new country, but he didn’t regret his decision to go there. He was having fun exploring and making art, and even though he was still scared and anxious sometimes, he found that he had far less anxiety while being on his own than when he lived at home.

He met Taka completely by accident; a fortunate and happy accident, as it turned out, as Taka quite literally saved his life.

One thing about Fox is that he has Type 1 diabetes, which he was diagnosed with at the age of six. He's insulin-dependent and has to maintain a balanced meal and snack schedule, and regularly monitor his blood glucose. When he does a lot of physical activity, his blood sugar can drop quickly, so that's something he always has to be aware of... but sometimes he gets distracted and he forgets.

That's what happened to him while he was hiking on Yukimatsu. He was busy taking pictures and daydreaming about all the paintings he was going to make based on his photos, and wasn't entirely paying attention to his footing. Because his blood sugar was already low (which he also wasn't really paying attention to), he wasn't as steady on his feet as usual and he fell and seriously injured his leg. Another symptom of low blood sugar is disorientation/confusion, and he was also in shock from his injury, so he lay in the snow for quite some time and didn't have the wherewithal to figure out that he should use his phone to call for help.

Taka was up on the mountain walking his dog when he noticed Fox lying under a tree. Long story short, Taka was able to call for help. Later, Taka came to see him in the hospital and check up on how he was doing, and what started as a chance encounter on the mountain suddenly became a friendship.

If anyone were to ask Fox and Taka, they'd both say they don't really believe in love at first sight, but they do believe in attraction at first sight and they're both firm believers in destiny. That day on the mountain, both of them somehow knew they were meant to be together.

They met in November, and by spring, they were sure. Fox proposed to Taka in June, and at the beginning of August when Fox returned to Canada, Taka went with him.

They may have promised themselves to each other quickly, but they had a long engagement. Taka went to college in Canada and earned his diploma in Early Childhood Education, which took two years. After that, they returned to Japan to get married and have their honeymoon there as well.

Currently, they live in Willow Creek, but they're having their new house built in the nearby town of Newcrest, not far from Fox's parents and sister. They're hoping to move into it soon, in time for their older children to start at their new school in September.

The Abbottsford Kids

These six beautiful kids are here thanks to the scientific miracle of Sixamish reproduction technology. From oldest to youngest, they are Camellia, Forest, Matsu, Midori, Willow and Takashi (this isn't the order they're arranged in for the picture, unfortunately).

Fox and Takahiro didn't actually plan to have six kids, but they're not complaining about it in the least. Initially, they both went through the alien reproduction procedure at the same time and assumed they'd each have one baby. In hindsight, Fox thought they really shouldn't have been shocked he had two, considering the high instance of twins in his family tree. Camellia, Forest and Matsu all have the same birthday, with the twins being only a couple of hours older than Matsu.

Later, they tried again, once more assuming that it'd be a singleton (and being very wrong about it yet again). They decided that Fox should be the one to do the procedure for a second time. Despite the doctors telling them the first time that Fox was the higher-risk candidate for the procedure, it was Taka who had all the complications. Fox breezed though it the first time, relatively speaking, so it seemed more logical for him to be the one to repeat the process.

Fox's second procedure wasn't nearly as smooth sailing as the first one. The Sixamish doctors hadn't found it out of the ordinary when both implants had turned out to be viable with the first procedure, so they weren't surprised at all when there were two viable implants with the second one as well. Things started to go off the rails a bit when the doctor performed a scan and realized that there were actually three fetuses. Monozygotic (identical) twins are fairly uncommon with the procedure, although certainly not unheard of, but what made the circumstances so rare was that the second implant had also remained viable.

The doctor recommended a fetal reduction to terminate one or more of them, because of the increased risk of complications with carrying multiples, but Fox and Taka wouldn't even consider that option. They couldn't imagine losing any of them and decided the risk was worth it. Fox was unwell to the point where he spent the last couple of months before the triplets' arrival on bed rest, the final three weeks of which were spent in the hospital. In the end, the triplets came a few weeks earlier than full-term. They were small, but they were all perfectly healthy, and everyone was beyond relieved that everything had worked out.

Birthdays in the Abbottsford household are easy to remember. Camellia, Forest and Matsu share their birthday on 23 January, right in between Fox's birthday on the 16th and Taka's on the 29th. The triplets' birthday is 9 August.

Camellia, the oldest by a couple of minutes (as she frequently reminds her twin brother Forest), is the clear leader among the siblings and the self-styled Queen of Everything. She's outgoing and fearless, and enjoys defying expectations. She loves playing all kinds of sports, camping, doing tricks on her bike, climbing trees, playing in the mud, and generally wreaking havoc. Camellia is definitely not a girly-girl, and her dads have given up trying to get her to wear anything pink or anything with lace or frills. One of her favourite things is gardening, and she has her very own little vegetable patch as well as some camellia flowers.

Forest is the polar opposite of his twin. He's shy around strangers and hesitant to try anything new, and he can be extremely clingy, particularly with Fox. His favourite things to do are reading, listening to music, learning to play piano, and making art. Forest is already showing signs of being artistically gifted, and he loves nothing better than to spend a quiet hour or two upstairs in the studio, painting with Fox.

Forest and Camellia are very close, so much so that some people think their attachment is unhealthy. Fox knows better, of course. He's extremely close with his own twin, Clancy, and the two of them shared a room up until the point when he moved out of their parents' house. He doesn't mind that Forest and Camellia insist on staying together in one room, although he and Taka would like them to have their own rooms when they get older and are working towards that once they move into their new house.

Like Fox, both Camellia and Forest have Type 1 diabetes. They were diagnosed within weeks of each other just after they turned five. Camellia is completely unfazed by the necessity of getting insulin injections every day and even wants to try doing it by herself. Sometimes Fox lets her "help" him with his own injection, which makes her feel super important and grown up. Forest, on the other hand, hates getting shots and doesn't even want to look at the needles, much less try to do it by himself. Fox constantly encourages him to get involved in his treatment (and to be more brave in general) because he doesn't want Forest to develop irrational fears of everything, like he did.

Matsu, the third child, is the social butterfly of the group. He makes friends easily and seems to know everyone. When he was little, his dads had to keep a close eye on him whenever they went out anywhere because Matsu had a tendency to run up to strangers, introduce himself and try to hug them. Matsu continues to be affectionate and loves cuddles, especially from Taka who is the undisputed hugging champion of the household.

Matsu loves all kinds of sports, but especially soccer and swimming. He's full of mischief and is up to any challenge his sister Camellia throws his way. On any given day after school, Matsu and Camellia can be found playing in the mud with their toy trucks, building tree forts, kicking the soccer ball around, or racing around the block on their bikes. Matsu's other favourite thing is cooking and baking. He loves to help in the kitchen, and thinks it's great when somebody comments on food that he's helped to prepare.

Midori is the oldest triplet, with identical sister Willow coming next. Takashi, the youngest triplet, is the baby of the family by a few minutes.

The running joke in the family is that Midori and Willow are clones. Not only do they look identical, but they're also similar in personality. They can be silly and mischievous at home or around other family members, but they tend to be more reserved around people they don't know well. They're not shy and will happily play with other kids, but they prefer to be approached first. Willow is slightly more outgoing than Midori and seems to be the leader more often, with Midori as her willing follower.

Willow and Midori have already figured out that they look exactly the same, and that many people can't tell them apart. They like to pretend to be each other just to confuse people. This works especially well on Grandpa Cam, who still can't tell them apart. It does not, however, work on their dads, and the girls are extremely confused themselves as to why Daddy and Papa always think it's so funny when they respond to each other's names.

Midori's favourite things include playing in the kiddie pool and splash pad, dancing, and being read to. Willow loves to paint, dance, and sing. Taka and Fox may not have gotten a girly-girl the first time, but they have double the opportunity with Willow and Midori, who are princesses at heart and will joyfully wear all the ribbons and frills.

Takashi is a lot like his sister Camellia in personality. He's a charmer and a huge ball of energy. If there's paint on the floor, food on the wall or any other sort of mess, it's a safe bet Takashi is responsible for it. He's constantly moving, and it's really a group effort to keep an eye on him at all times. Takashi will climb anything, crawl into any small space and generally do any wild thing that pops into his little head.

Takashi loves to run around and try to play ball with his older siblings. He's always happy when Camellia plays trucks with him, and he especially loves it when she makes up her own adventure stories to tell him. He's also very cuddly, and will happily go to anyone for attention and hugs.

Random fact about the kids - Camellia, Forest & Willow have middle names, while Matsu, Midori & Takashi don't.

about ten asks ago i asked why glimmer (and the others) were encouraged to go into the games despite people close to them knowing what goes on when you become a victor. the answer is.... harrowing at best. all the sections with glim glam and the horrors beyond your imagination that comes with child prostitution!!!! KILLED ME. the color scene in the train with everlark vs this one with clato. my god. both of their favorite colors being red like do these babies know ANYTHING that's not related to bloodshed. makes you wonder what they would actually do without the hunger games. especially cato now that he's a canon nepo grandbaby. im obsessed with the thin line between violence and tenderness that these two overstep all the damn time. will they stab each other only for it to feel like a kiss? only time will tell.

when it comes to the actual games, all of them being directly opposite each other is a CRIME and i need plot armor for all 24 tributes by next chapter STAT i better not lose anyone in there!!! they will hold hands and host the first annual talent games IDGAF i want to see marvel juggle flaming knives i want to see mags catch the weirdest goddamn fish with a hairpin we don't care about killing each other killing is overrated!!! we love friendship and peace in this house actually and everyone is friends with everyone and we all visit grandpa snow for cookies and milk he dgaf about the games either so everyone's families are safe!!

Yeah so..when you sent that ask I already knew this answer. I knew it would be answered at some point, and I feel like the horrors of reading it in this chapter was far worse than the answer I gave to that ask? Like more graphic. This chapter actually LITERALLY increased my rating on the fic, because I just..felt it wasn't doing justice to tone down what Glimmer experienced. Because..it is horrific and it is awful and it's violent. I consider it one of the most heinous, horrific things that can be done to someone. And while I hated doing it to her, I felt it was realistic as to what we know from canon, the capitol, and the price she pays for being a beautiful young girl. It's horror. It's horrendous. And as you sawy you want her out of the fic and safe..theres only one sure fire way to get her out of the fic and I dont think you'd like if that happened!! (i wouldn't either). Put her in her little jar like a firefly and shake her up. You actually hit one of the big horrific points in this paragraph-- She is just a baby. Fifteen. She was a child, a little girl. And she has faced horrific horrific things .

Listen here bestie. Marbles and Glim Glam have weaseled their way into my heart and they are there to stay!! I love them with my whole heart!! I want them to be happy! These babies know nothing of life without the hunger games. LIke truly. What would they do, who would they be, etc, in a life without the games? Maybe his favorite color would have been evergreen or hers a pretty oceany blue. Maybe they would have had hobbies. Maybe Cato would have spent his free time getting berated as a baseball coach, and by berated I mean Enobaria by the fence absolutely verbally assaulting him for his foolishness. Cato is a legacy!! Clove would've been but her mother died. As you can tell his grandparents died before the victors vote because they may not have sent their grandson into the games. And yes! They walk SUCH a fine fine line between love and violence. It's inextricably tangled with them-- who would they be without it?

When it comes to the games!! Well!! The good news is I decide who gets plot armor and how!! I have control who lives who dies who tells this story! So uh!! Fear not!! or Fear a lot!!

I Hate Linda

I hate Linda. She's a piece of crap. She doesn't know anything.

How can someone I trained be so...so dumb?

She's throws her age around like a badge of honor but it really just shows her unwillingness to keep up. She doesn't know a single thing except what she's learned from being at the company for approximately 378383.8 years.

"When I was back in [INSERT LONG DISSOLVED DEPARTMENT], I remember we did things like this," she'd say.

Who cares, Linda? You and your knowledge have to be carbon dated, Linda. We don't do things like that anymore, Linda. Phones aren't attached to the wall anymore, LINDA!

But they love her. They all respect her and her acrid personality that rubs me raw. It's part of her appeal. The grumpy old mom on the team. The same woman with just as soon snap at you as soon as show you pictures of her grandbabies. The same woman who writes like a turd just learning its first words. The same woman who somehow has the entire team in the palm of her wrinkly hand.

[text]: Honestly, and it's so refreshing to be surrounded by people who understand the value of family time. Aaron has been traveling quite a lot this past year to film, and he auditioned for a few roles that would likely film next year if he gets them. So being able to have this uninterrupted time with the older girls has been wonderful. Just trying to soak it all in because it already breaks my heart when they have to say goodbye to Collins to spend time with their mom. That's the best mindset, honestly. She's little, but she has her own little personality already and I bet you've figured out a few of her coos after just a few days. Because you're a great dad! Don't refuse the help, but maybe in another week or so. This is your bonding time with her. Sleep will come.

[text]: Is she even Australian if she doesn't love the water!? The vision of baby Ava in massive headphones is sending me right now. She's going to be so, so proud of her daddies -- cheering you on from stage right every single night. Collins is a vibe alright, and I love her more than I ever thought I could possibly love something. She's barely four months and has me wanting another already, so if that doesn't tell you something idk what does. Let me let you in on a little secret -- you're stuck with me for far longer than 18 years. We'll be old and wrinkly, showing off our grandbabies and great-grandbabies to each other and I wouldn't have it any other way.

[ text ]: i didn't really have a tight knit family unit when i was a child, so now that i have a family of my own, i feel like i wanna work even harder to make sure we get to experience everything together. everything outside of our little bubble has taken the backseat and i don't see that changing, especially with Ava being so little still. you two have to balance a lot of things to get that family time, with Aaron's busy work schedule, visitation with his two older girls, your busy career and of course, little Collins. makes sense you'd do your best to make sure every little moment you five have together. It's hard that your baby girl has to miss time with her siblings but at least you guys are doing the best you can to foster those relationships. she's very sweet and chill but i definitely see some of that Luke sass in her too. say a prayer for me, please. we're alternating taking care of feeds, and trying to nap while she sleeps. the jury is still out on if it's entirely working but i wouldn't change it for the world.

[ text ]: true, she's getting her first beach exposure this weekend, i'll send you all the photos of my little water baby. she'll look very rock'n' roll and i have to make her a little 5SOS jacket to match that vibe. you're an amazing mum, i've known that always. is baby number two a want still or are you two working on it? you think you guys will end up having more than two of your own? Luke wants to have four, so there's gonna be a lot of babies to take to Bali when the time comes. yes please, they say it takes a village to raise a baby and i'm so glad you're always on our team, lovely.

Sequel to "It Takes A village"

It was officially the day before the twin's party. It wasn't big, just family and you had the twins both invite 3 friends + their families. You gave them the invitations and told them to give them to their friends during recess or lunch. Plus Tom and/or Harry were coming.

Today you were taking the twins with you to the store to go pick up their cake, and some food. You were paying for everything, Chris was just letting you throw the party at his house. And he has an excuse to spoil his grandkids which is his favorite thing to do. That's why he loves birthdays and holidays.

It's been a week since the paparazzi incident, fortunately it's died down. The photo is still floating around, and people are still trying to guess which twin was in the photo. Of course a lot of people have it correct. You haven't heard from Jake yet luckily. You told CJ to let you know if he hears anything.

Now you did hear from your mom. She asked when she'd get to meet "her" grandbabies. As far as you're concerned the boys are Chris' and only Chris' grandbabies. But you let your boys talk to her over the phone. You just told her that you're not taking the boys to that town. She's refusing to come the boston, not because of money. She has plenty since she's only paying for herself, plus she has a well paying job. So you know for a fact she could afford the trip. You told her thay the twins won't step foot in your home town until they're older. You were dealing with the drama that may come with it. Like how you knew Jake's parents hated you for "trying to ruin their baby boy's life" while his grandma was overjoyed to find out about a great grandbaby. You felt bad that she may never meet the twins because she truly is a lovely woman.

Anyway back to the task at hand. You go to the bakery with twins standing on either side of the cart. It was the easiest way to keep track of both of them. If they weren't standing on the cart they had to have their hands on the cart. When walking at least.

"Hi I'm here to pick up a cake for Y/n Evans." You said to the cashier while both boys looked at the sweets that surrounded them now.

"Mommy can we get these cookies?" Flynn pointed at some sugar cookies.

"Give me a second baby." You told him as the baker came back. She handed the cakes over. One was vanilla with blue icing and it said, "happy birthday Flynn!" While the other one was chocolate with green icing and it says "Happy birthday Felix!". You were going to ad toys on the top to decorate them more. Obviously cleaned and sanitized. "thank you." You told the woman but you quickly looked back at the boys who were staring at the cookies.

"Have a nice day." The baker smiled.

You walked over looking at the price of the cookies. They were a reasonable price so you told them both to grab a pack. They'll be a good addition to the deserts for any who doesn't like or want cake. Now all you needed was chicken tenders, fries, and a vegan option. Plus drinks, you were thinking a box of Capri suns, some Yoohoos and a case sprite. Occasions like this was the only time the twins got a soda. So, birthdays, holidays, and parties. It wasn't a regular thing. Now obviously you just started even allowing pop last year since they are still pretty young. Even then it's only one.

"Mommy can we get Dino nuggies?" Felix asked seeing the shaped chicken.

"Yeah." You smiled. This party wasn't going to have a theme. While they like similar things they wouldn't be able to agree on a theme. So it's mostly just a color-themed. You bought paper plates and things but no real decorations.

You just tucked in the twins and now were going to decorate for their party. You were digging through the bag for the happy birthday banner you found at the dollar store. Chris walks in with pretty decent sized box already wrapped, he left and came back with a box the same size.

"Dad. What are those?" You asked him.

"They are rideable horses. For them to ride around the house on." Chris looks so proud of himself, his house is large so the boys will have plenty of room to ride.

"Dad they'll love those."

"I thought so but I was a little worried you'd be mad because you got them bikes. But these are for inside."

"I'm not mad. Maybe those will get them to stop running around the house."

"Dad they're perfect. Can you run to nana's house and grab the bikes?" You hid the boy's bikes in her garage because the twins never went in there.

"Of course sweet pea! Is there anything we need for the party while I'm out?"

"Nope... Thanks for letting me throw it for them."

"Your welcome Bubba." Chris kissed your forehead before leaving.

How’s Daisy’s relationship with Grumpy ?

Oh my goodness!! I don't think you guys are ready for how sweet and tender Daisy is. She is not going to like noise for awhile, she's got a bad habit of hiding her face in her daddy's or Grumpy's chest. James is head over heels for his grandbaby, and it's not going to be much different with Daisy. Her favorite people are; Daddy, Grumpy (James), Papa (Ransom), Curtis, Pop Pop (Frank), Pappy (Steve), and Chibs. She feels the most safe and secure with them, and has Curtis twisted tightly around her finger. And Ari is ready for more babies because of this 😂

Abel and Daisy are so sweet. Abel worries so much about his sissy, even was drawing a scar down his chest, he's not the only one drawing scars. While almost everyone goes back to their homes, James and Iris along with the three kids stay at the estate awhile longer. And like Azzie, are looking into building on the compound. It's a bittersweet, because they all love their house, and it's not that far from the compound. But they like the idea of being close as a family. However....the land that Posie and Jax are going to build on is part of Beau and Arleigh's land.

James' finger pets around Daisy's face gently as he looks at his granddaughter. Everyone that looks at her, keeps making comments about how she looks just like Posie. He knows it isn't fair that he didn't get this age with Posie, but it's like he's finally getting his chance.

Every time that he has an opportunity to hold her, he does. Wanting to remember every stage of her life, since he didn't get those moments with Posie. His family knows, but none of them make a comment. Even Ransom who loves babies, especially early in the morning, doesn't say anything when James walks out of Posie and Jax's room with the baby.

That had always been something Ransom did, but he bites his tongue because this time, he's not the grandpa, he's the great-grandpa. James swears when he looks at her he notices every little change to Daisy's face. Sees how rapidly she's growing, and pretty soon, she'll be a pretty toddler like her mom was the first time James met her.

Poppy watches her dad with Daisy. She's not jealous, just scared. When Daisy came home, it was like all her sister wanted to do was either keep the baby and Abel close, or be alone with Jax. She didn't understand all that happened, or even the severity of Posie's brain, and how the loud dramatics of the family caused Posie pain.

"Poppers, what're you doing baby?" Poppy wiggles from around the corner, when her dad's hazel eyes finally look at her. A spitting image of his Iris, eyes and all. The only child of theirs that got Iris's eyes. "Come over here. Everyone is alseep, and you've never got to meet your niece."

Poppy takes a deep, and comes around the corner, and James laughs at the ever present bunny that she always has with her. "EB hasn't met Daisy either has she?"

"Nope," Poppy carefully crawls onto the couch with her dad, and leans over on his shoulder looking at the little baby. "Was I that small?"

"No, baby. You were small because you shared your mommy's tummy with Thorne, but Daisy is the smallest baby we've had. She was smaller before we left the hospital. I feel like it was just yesterday we were bringing you home."

"You didn't get to bring Posie home though."

James shakes his head no, the tears he always holds back, now becoming harder to keep at bay. "No, I came home to Posie and your mom."

"Daddy, do you need to hold EB?" James just shakes his head, unable to speak. "But you're crying. When I hold one of my babies, I'm not sad no more."

With a quick readjustment, he wraps an arm around Poppy, bringing her closer to him. "I am holding two of my babies," she gives him a little giggle laying EB down in her lap, belly up. "Poppers, what's that?" his finger skims down EB's belly, but she tries to hide it. "Poppy Avalon, what is it?"

"Don't be mad. I felt bad after I did it...but, Daisy has a red mark, and...daddy I'm sorry," her blue green eyes pout up at her dad, but he pulls her body even closer.

"I'm not mad, baby. I know that this has been scary for you little ones. Daisy is okay. Yeah, she has a scar down her chest, but it's not always going to be red. Instead of drawing on your bunny babies, or yourself, you can always talk to me, or Aunt Emy, Uncle Joshie, another adult."

"Jackie?" she gives him a little giggle, and hides her face.

"Yes, even the Numb Skull. It's okay to be scared, but Daisy and Posie are going to be okay."

"She sleeps a lot."

"The doctor said she may. Our family overwhelms her right now. Eventually all the loudness won't bother her head, and she'll be back to Posie."

"It's okay if the loudness bothers her daddy. You, too flower. The loudness bothers me sometimes, too. That's why I got bunnies as pets. You know Thorne just got the dragon to make me and mommy uncomfortable right?" James gives a laugh and nods his head. "Is Oakie going to get a pet?"

"Yeah, he's been wanting a dog. But Dodger comes first, we can't have a dog that thinks he's the big man. Dodger keeps us all in line."

Poppy leans forward, and gives the wiggling baby a kiss on her forehead, "Keeps mommy calm too. Dodger didn't like her being gone. He kept looking for her, so he stayed with me or Oakie. Thorne and Attie...I'm glad they don't live together."

"Your mom missed Dodger, too. Not as much as she missed you, and Thorne, and Oakie, and all the mean and crazy boys and girls were here. Did you like going to school at the castle?"

"No. I liked, when Bunny would come and talk to me. I like Bunny. I think I'm like Beau. Quiet."

"Yeah, your Pop Pop genes run deep, sweet girl," Daisy stretches, and her little voice squeaks a bit. "I think it's time to take her back to her momma and daddy. You coming?"

"No, I'm going to go see Biscoff. Love you daddy."

"Love you, too, Poppers."

Y/N's POV

Y/N got Tate dressed for the day, it was his birthday and the first day that Y/N would be getting back on a horse as she walked to the barn as she saddled her horse "alright little man, let's go and see what your daddy is up to" She says, sitting him in the saddle as she climbed up behind him and held onto the saddle horn as she held Tate close to her as she nudged her horse and headed to where Kayce was as she smiled when she saw him on a horse as she texted Kayce "hi handsome, why don't you bring that horse. I'm taking Tate for a ride, gonna go visit your mama so why don't we go and take Tate." She sends the text to him because she knew that he would wanna visit his mama.

Kayce's POV

Kayce smiled and replied "alright, want me to bring dad too. You know that he loves Tate, and I'm sure that he would love to spoil his grandbaby" He sends the text, opening the gate as he rides over to Y/N and Tate as he smiled "alright let's go see mama, introduce her to her grandson. Mama would be happy if she saw us together, she always said that we would be close and stay that way. She is right. I love you y/n l/n, more than you know" He says softly, grinning at her happily before scooping Tate up and placing him on his horse as Kayce grinned happily because he had been there for every milestone, and birthday but he wanted to make Tate’s 3rd birthday special so he had been planning something for the little boy as he glanced over at Y/N and smiled sweetly at her.

We couldn't find my dad in the house so the three of us rode out to the fields to see mom. Long and behold my dad was leaning up against the fence already there talking to her about her grandchild. Dismounting my horse I pick Tate up off Y/n's horse watching her get down slowly since it's been awhile since she last rode a horse. "I should've known you'd come here to tell her about us." I chuckled, holding Tate in my arms still. Y/n rests her arms on the fence talking like my mother can hear her. "You were right all along, Mrs. Dutton. Kayce and I are together." The wind blows her hair in the sunrise over the mountains as I lean over to dad whispering low so she doesn't hear. "Do you have her ring, dad?" He nods, tapping his coat pocket smiling at Tate. "Come here little grandson." He picks Tate up who plays with my dad's hat on his head babbling something I can't quite understand.

Heading back to the ranch we see Rip and the others heading off to work. Walker waits on his horse until Rip calls his name. Beth comes out of the house hands on her hips and she complains about Jamie. "I called your backstabbing son, daddy." He plants a kiss to her forehead as Y/n holds Tate now. Suddenly Jimmy's horse bursts out of the barn and he freaks out. "Guys something's making my horse go crazy." I released a laugh seeing him riding out wild to catch up with the others. "What the heck was that about?" Beth asked, catching a smirk on my face. All of us head for the barn. Pressing the door open my sister and dad gasped at the animal before them. A light brown little pony is standing in the middle of the barn. "How on earth did a pony get here. I deal with all the finances for the ranch?" Beth runs a hand through her hair as Tate throws his hands out giggling. "Horsie!" Y/n grins up at John and Beth, matching my expression. "Surprise, it's for Tate. When he's old enough to ride." John chuckles ruffling Tate's hair.

John’s POV

John smiled and watched his son, knowing that Kayce had planned on proposing to Y/N as he held Tate “go on, i’ve got him. Go get your woman son, gods know that you’ve been after that sweet girl for years. She probably feels the same way, now go and have fun. “ He says, holding Tate as he tickled his grandson’s sides while he watched as his son runs to find Y/N since he had already given his son the ring since he had asked before they surprised their son with his very own pony which would be all his whenever he was old enough to ride and be able to hold himself on the horse as he saw Beth “you’re brother is gonna try and ruin this for Kayce. Do not let him, please Beth” He says, running a hand through his hair as he places his hat on his head “I mean it, Jamie is a backstabber and doesn’t care who’s feelings he is hurting so please keep an eye out and make sure that nothing happens.” He says softly, looking at his daughter who had been loyal to the ranch for years but Jamie had betrayed them and he wanted nothing to do with the male.

Y/n's POV

Kayce leads me into the barn hearing Tate's pony eating food in its stall. Being in this barn brings back a lot of memories for the both of us. He fiddled with his black dusty hat clearing his throat making me turn towards him. I'm slightly shorter than him, making me look up into his brown eyes. "Y/n, we've been on each other's tail since you were 6 and I was 8 years old. Both our parents said we'd end up together and I don't typically believe in destiny...but I think it's destined for us. Two wild spirits becoming one." He slowly bends down on one knee before me, revealing a certain ring I'd seen at a very young age. "Kayce, is that your mother's?" He slowly nods, catching tears falling down his cheeks that he wiped away. "I love you, I love you Y/n L/n. At some point every time I'd get your letters I felt my heart beating faster and a huge grin on my face. I love little Tate and I'm damn sure I love you. So will you marry me, will you officially become a Dutton?"

Y/N smiled and looked at Kayce, nodding “i’d be a fool if i say no, so yes i’ll marry you and become a dutton but on one condition baby” She says softly, her hand resting on his cheek as she pulled him down and kisses his lips softly “you promise to kiss me for the rest of my life because i plan on kissing you for the rest of mine” She says, taking his felt black hat as she placed it on her head and watched him as she pulled back to take a breath as she scooped Tate up and looked at Kayce “now how about we take little man out for a celebratory dinner. Just us, and our baby” She says, running a hand through his hair as she ruffled it playfully as she looked at him “you gotta put the ring on my finger, and then when we have the wedding. We will officially be Mr and Mrs. Dutton. Can you believe that, I will be a dutton and married to the boy that I went after for so many years. We have a baby and I'm engaged to the one that I've liked for so long. Also, do you want a spring or winter wedding? “ She says, her hair falling in her face as she kissed his lips again gently and softly as she heard Tate squeal in protest “you know i have to kiss him, he’s too handsome not to.”
