Perhaps, one of the worst things about Phase 2 is the lack of sub-unit songs. When they said solo they really meant it. Only Suga relented with Huh?? and Jimin managed to sneak a partial one under the radar with Letter/Dear.ARMY.

Discovering the BTS World OST

Speaking of OSTs, @lokisasylum inspired me to check out the BTS World OST today. BTS World was a mobile video game published in 2019. Apparently you role play as a BTS Manager. Did anyone play it?

The members all had different characters. The hyung line were all university students: RM was studying creative writing, Jin was working as a hotel intern, Suga was a pianist and J-Hope was studying to be a vet. The maknae line were all still at high school.

This is the first time I have listened to Heartbeat and despite being produced for a video game it manages to retain a clear BTS feel. The intro by V is particularly memorable as is the rapping section that RM carries. The imagery is first class. I have to say they were all looking mighty fine back in 2019.

I also checked out some of the other songs from the OST. A Brand New Day with J-Hope, V and Zara Larsson.

All Night with RM, Suga and Juice World.

I was already familiar with Dream Glow with Charli XCX because when I first got into BTS (and let's face even today) I was blown away every time Jungkook and Jimin sang together and I sought out all their songs on Spotify and SoundCloud.

Their version of We don't talk anymore with Jungkook's breathy delivery and Jimin's clear expression of emotions. It all hits much harder than the original song.

In WHO, when Jimin sings "When the morning comes you're still in my bed, But it's so so cold", it curls my toes every single time.

I have to say it's not looking good for any more jikook duets in the near future. We will have to be content with the little snatches of them harmonizing in Letter the beautiful hidden song on FACE.

I really hope the time will come, maybe after military service, when we get another duet from these two talented, hard-working and stunning human beings.
