Observing Adam

Where I go way too deep into something that probably isn't that deep. It's long, it's long as hell.

Okay, so you'd think with how Adam talks he's just a typical misogynist, right?

This man worships pussy. So much so, he's named a whole ass angel, one of his best, Vagina. You'd say that he objectifies them and thinks of them as being lesser, but I don't think that's the whole story. In fact, I think he might be the original simp.

All of these exorcists so far have been women. All of them. He refers to them as ladies or bitches interchangeably, he sees them as being completely capable of absolutely decimating leagues of some of the most vile beings who have ever existed, and they have, to the point it was only after thousands of years that there's been a risk to this hierarchy.

He's a self-centered, egotistical, loud-mouthed, arrogant asshole, no doubt about it, but I'm beginning to suspect something now.

If Adam and Lilith were created from the same dust, if they were created as equals, I am more than willing to bet... Lilith is also a self-centered, egotistical, arrogant asshole. But, she's likely far more intelligent, composed, and duplicitous.

Lilith was allowed to refuse Adam and leave of her own free will and garnered her own independence. A new wife was created for Adam, she was replaced. My guess, is she thought Adam wouldn't be able to live without her, to come back and find herself replaced entirely, she was enraged.

I believe both Adam and Lilith were both incredibly dominant individuals who fought over ideas, thoughts, and ultimately in the bedroom as well, if we take into account the creationist stories.

I'm willing to bet she likely manipulated Lucifer into twisting humanity against its original concept. What if Lucifer's intention truly was to just spark something within Eve, like independence and thought and creation, but it was Lilith's poison within the fruit that tainted her, then subsequently Adam, with sin.

Lilith thrived in hell, while Lucifer's dreams of creation were dashed. She didn't suffer as he did, instead the power of her voice grew with hell. Her voice grew so powerful that heaven found it to be a threat, her actions instigated the beginning of exterminations.

Charlie said that when she was a little girl, she didn't know Lucifer at all. I don't think this was because of Lucifer, he's seen here, picking her up, inviting her to share in his thoughts and dreams, showing her something wonderful. Something she could see within herself.

Charlie says that it's this moment that sparked her will to fight for her dreams. Which is strange, because at the very beginning of the story, Charlie says it was her mother's dream that was passed down to her.

Lilith took Charlie away. In this scene, Lucifer wasn't done showing Charlie his thoughts and dreams, he's still yearning to show his daughter these things at this point.

Lucifer loves his daughter. He loves Charlie so, so, so much. So why wasn't he allowed to build a relationship with his daughter for the longest time? He was waiting for the opportunity to get to know her, but with how much he adores her why didn't he do it sooner? He didn't comment on 'It took you a while-' he just said he missed her smile. They don't want to be pulled apart, again.

Now, we know Vivziepop has said that Lucifer and Lilith love each other, but Lilith 'wears the pants' in the relationship. We see all of the pictures all over the walls of a supposedly happy family. I don't think the relationship was as loving as originally portrayed and Lilith is a woman who desires control above all else. She likely tried to mitigate what influence Lucifer had over their daughter when she thought his angelic thoughts and behaviors became more than what she approved of.

Lets take it back to Adam and Lute for a moment. Again, Adam is a loud mouthed idiot, he's a jerk. The moment he realizes there are demons in heaven, he's ready to go on the attack. It's only because of Lute that he didn't end up doing something absolutely idiotic.

I gotta say, Lute and Adam's relationship is an absolutely fascinating one. He's a disrespectful dick head in how he talks, but how he acts is a different story. He allows Lute to man-handle him. He does listen to her, even if he's a whiny bitch about it.

Look at him, this is the face of a man listening, a dumb one, but a dude listening all the same. He doesn't manhandle her back, he doesn't even pull away until she lets go of his collar. Of all the shit he complained about, between being grabbed and being told what to do, his biggest complaint is that she's telling him to shush.

We know that Adam is the one who suggested the exterminations to begin with, so Sera says, and this was because of the power that Lilith was amassing. To him, Lilith is a threat. Even when he was willing to move on, to go to another wife when Lilith didn't want him or want to submit to him (fair babe, he's a bit of an idiot), she came back with an angel and proceeded to manipulate his new wife Eve. This is the supposed progenitor of man-kind, the original dick (hilariously enough), the reason civilization even exists at all. He and Eve had to fight for their lives after being tempted with the fruit. They had immortality, they had no ideas of shame, they were supposedly 'innocent' creatures before Lilith and Lucifer came along. He and Eve had to fight tooth and nail to survive after being cast from Eden. I think it shows in how willing and ready he is to take lead and do what he believes needs to be done, now out of a need for entertainment rather than a need to defend or protect. But, he still stopped to listen to Lute's advice. In the mythological story of Adam and Eve, Adam is the one who has to tell Eve that god said don't eat the fruit. Eve never heard god speak to her, so she was vulnerable to the snake's manipulations. She will now die because she ate it, and because she did not want Adam to take another wife, convinced him to eat it unknowingly. Funnily enough, Adam tried to explain to god that 'she lied to me and gave me the fruit' and in this actual mythology, Adam was punished for listening to his wife. Even without mentioning Lilith in the original mythology, Eve didn't want Adam to take another wife, so when we consider it within the context of Hazbin Hotel, it may be likely that's how it went down. Eve knew of Lilith, knew that she could be replaced, and decided that she would take Adam with her.

I believe that Adam does and did rely on the women in his life to help him with direction. I think Adam knows he can be an idiot and is willing to listen, even if he doesn't agree with what he's hearing. He did listen to Charlie in the beginning, he just didn't believe in her, like everyone else and he, out of anyone there, probably had the most reason not to. Cain and Abel were his and Eve's sons, his own child became the first murderer. Out of jealousy, the same kind of jealousy that no doubt has caused Lilith to act how she did. Adam isn't going to have empathy for sinners. His family, his legacy, were filled with the original sinners. He probably had to kill his son Cain in hell during the first exterminations. What do you think he would have had to feel, if it came to be a fact that sinners could be redeemed? That maybe his son, could've been redeemed? Or any of his progeny for that matter? How did it feel when his sons, his progeny, weren't given the same mercy as the Hellborn that Lucifer managed to keep protected through some deal with the angels or god? Not to mention that Charlie could've been his daughter. Charlie is the product of the people who completely and totally destroyed the paradise he'd been born into. She's the daughter who is protected and immune from the slaughter while all of his sons and daughters are judged and killed. I believe, even though he was a dickish prankster to Charlie, he was surprisingly patient and even somewhat amicable, willing to even ask her how her weekend was like he was just trying to get to know her.

Adam could just see all of the angels under his employ as being disposable. He doesn't have to name them, or think about them in any individual fashion. But, he knows Vaggie, recognized her instantly. Thought she was badass. Lute's the one who saw her, tore her wings off, and walked away. I'm surprised they even let her live, because this just goes against everything they're doing. They're an army and they saw one of their own showing empathy to the enemy.

Look at this dumb ass. He's being a shit-head, a dick, a bastard. But, he admires Vaggie's ability to pull Charlie, congratulates her, this dude isn't even judging her for being a lesbian. I don't think it's because he objectifies women, this dude loves women, he just does. He respects fellow vagina lovers. I don't think he respects liars in the slightest though. He's being underhanded, he's trying to be manipulative (he's not very good at it). I think he's brutally open and honest about everything and that's probably one of the reasons he's such a bastard anyways, because sometimes you just need to shut-up and he's not good at that.

I don't think he respects Sera for that either, he's more than willing to let others know what the hell he's doing, but under Sera's lead, he can't be open about it. I don't think it's his jam to act this way, it's why he sucks so bad at it and I think that's why Lilith is so antithetical to him. I also think that's why he's possibly even being manipulated.

It's kind of crazy that Adam is the only one who tries to come up with what allows someone to get into heaven. So here's his list: 1. Act Selfless: Maybe at one point he was! He had to have been, to be one of the progenitors of mankind, he would have had to work, sacrifice, and give to his wife and children for them all to survive. Eve would have had to do the same, no doubt. He may not seem selfless, due to his raunchy behavior, but he's served heaven since he's been there. He's served humanity in some kind of facet. 2. Don't Steal: Considering the only other humans are his spawn, he likely had to try and get them to not steal from one another for them all to have an equal opportunity of survival. He and Eve likely both knew they would need to work together to survive.

3. Stick it to the man: This, however, is interesting. Who is 'The Man' he speaks of? God? The only other people over him or were equal to him were women. He speaks like a rocker, and I think in this case he's using the term 'The Man' in a gender neutral way. I think he allowed some amount of Authority to Lilith when they were supposed to be seen as equals, it comes so naturally to him as a character when it comes to the other women he's been interacting with. I think she is the 'man' that he's been sticking it to- Pun somewhat intended. ((This third one may also simply be a tongue in cheek reference to when Alex Brightman played Dewey in School of Rock on Broadway! Thank you to the user who brought this to my attention!))

Adam is a bit of a hypocrite, isn't he? He likes to fuck, he's made that abundantly clear. Full of lust you could say. It was his original purpose after all, and he is judging Angel Dust for something he probably would've done himself at one point or has considered doing (maybe not the having sex with men part). Angel Dust does all of these things, Adam doesn't even deny it. He even looks nervous. He's angry, but doesn't deny that Angel has done those things. He doesn't explain it away or try to lie or move the goal posts, he's just asking what is an actually very valid question.

Why isn't Angel Dust there if he can do things equal to what Adam himself hasn't done? Serenity continues that line of thought. It isn't until Charlie is realizing no one knows what it takes to get into heaven.

Adam is more than willing to let Lute take the lead here, he's willing to give her the stage to clap back, he's giving her back-up antics. By all means, they could be pushing and fighting one another, there could easily be body language expressing something other than their general comfort around one another. They aren't fighting for a spotlight like you'd expect Adam to try and do considering his egotistical attitude.

Adam fucking sucks at keeping his mouth shut and he sucks at lying. He nearly blew the secret out of the bag once, this time, Sera is the only one who tries to stop him and to be honest? Lute looks a bit too thrilled at it. He knows he fucked up, but he doesn't think it's a big deal that anyone would know. For fucks sake, they've already condemned souls, his progeny, to suffer. What's the big deal if he kills them?

I have to re-iterate what's happening here. Charlie is proud she caused this chaos, that she caused these angels to fight amongst themselves, even if in this case it's a good thing. But, this is like history repeating itself to Adam, the reflection of his ex-wife, entering his domain, causing strife among his people, being happy about it.

And the venom he expresses when it comes to the 'liar' portion, god Alex Brightman destroyed when he got to this portion specifically. There is some vehement disgust in his tone when he says liar.

Adam isn't a good person now. But, I think he used to be a good person. By all means, Adam himself could've been the first murderer when his wife made her mistake. He, at one point in time, had to have been good enough to foster civilization itself with Eve. Both good and bad. Adam's original purpose was to be fruitful and multiply. Ordained by god (or maybe just angels) himself, divine power directed and created him to fuck. He didn't chase his ex-wife down, he was given a new one, Lilith was allowed to leave. When he left things alone, when he tried to move on, his ex-wife and a scorned angel destroyed the paradise he was in with Eve. He had to struggle and toil, he had to feel shame in his own body. He had to find out his first born son was the first murderer. His second son killed. We don't know if this is going to be canon in the story, a lot has changed, and if Adam is the first soul who reached heaven, then what did happen to Abel? Was Abel considered a sinner? Or did Cain kill Abel after Adam had passed? Either way, he had to witness his children kill, he had to watch his descendants behave in a range from saints and monsters. He's seen genocides, he's seen famine, war. Adam is desensitized to the plights of his descendants. Maybe he even saw it as a duty to cleanse the universe of their existence at one point, because they were his responsibility.

At the end of this episode, he is properly scolded by Sera and does seem ashamed of himself. He isn't huffy, he is reminded that he should be ashamed of acting that way.

I love Lute's enthusiasm, she's absolutely brutal when talking about Vaggie and with how she handled Vaggie. I think it's funny that Lute is so brutal she's even made Adam uncomfortable. It's cute that he's made uncomfortable by the excitement and all he does is tell Lute, the premier hype woman over here, to chill. She's so proud of herself too, look at her.

He fully expects these exorcist bad bitches to go in there and fuck shit up. But, you know it's hilarious that he's throwing horns? This dude, this angel. First human soul in heaven, loving rock n' roll, the devil's music, and throwing motherfucking horns. It's poetic really. I think we can probably assume where things are going.

Now, this is the first point we've seen Adam being a real piece of shit to Lute. I don't think Adam likes it when people think he's too dumb to notice something, especially something so damn obvious. This is such a drastic moment of vitriolic, uncontrolled anger directed towards Lute. Adam knows he isn't the brightest tool in the shed. He likely knows he's obtuse and misses shit. It's why he sucks at lying, he knows he's not smart. That is why I think he's afforded women opportunities to direct him without fighting back against their advice and their choices. I'm sure Lilith made it obvious how dumb she thinks Adam is. I'm wondering if this might be where their ground breaking fight might've come from. Who's to say he didn't allow Lilith to take the lead, or listen to her like he's done with Lute here and now? Perhaps to an even greater point? He listened to Eve and ate from the fruit of knowledge and he was punished for it. Being seen as so dumb he can't formulate a simple fact is a sore spot for him.

Adam is incredibly powerful. It took a bit out of him to exercise that power, probably because he's out of practice just like Lucifer said. At one point, he probably wasn't so sloppy and weak willed. He's gotten lazy. Sloth like.

I think it got real personal here. How viscerally and personally he attacked Charlie. No one but Charlie truly thought sinners could be redeemed, or that they were even worth it. Not even one of the original sinners. Maybe he never considered the possibility, maybe what happened really did make him see the world as black and white to cope with that happened to him, his wife, his children. Charlie's desire to fight this idea would destroy the foundation for all of his coping through the years. He stopped seeing them as family, even though he's grandiose about his founding role in humanity. Does that itch the guilt that may lurk under the surface?

I don't think Adam thought much of Charlie at all. I don't think he had any intention of coming to kill her in the beginning, despite seeing her, despite who her parents were. But, I think with the constant push, with how eager she was to disrupt the pre-conceived idea of order, it reminded Adam and reflected her parents so much, he was eager to kill her for revenge against them. I think this electrical interference on the mask is a direct reflection of sin. Namely, wrath, in this moment.

Now, this. THIS. Is something that made me want to write this whole fucking essay. Is Lucifer implying that he not only gave Eve the Fruit from the tree of knowledge, but FUCKED HER TOO? Homies, I'm sorry but holy shit. That is some hydrating tea. I'd be pretty pissed too, fucked over twice by women who were supposed to be literal soul mates, who you were made for, who were made for you?

I knew he would have a goatee, I could almost hear it. I gotta say, I'm a sucker for how he looks. I think he's hot. He is a bastard, but so are a lot of the hot dudes in this show. It's just a theme.

This exact series of lines prompted so many of the thoughts that I had about Adam and why he thinks or acts the way he does. At one point, Adam did have to work himself to the bone and learn to survive from scratch alongside Eve. He isn't entirely without cause to not think that he deserves some respect or recognition from his descendants.

But, that doesn't give him the right to act like god himself. It's... well... Blasphemous. Isn't it? One of the worst sins is to think yourself to be worthy of worship, as if you're a god.

This is the moment that gave me empathy for them both. You could probably see the kind of loving person Adam could have been at one point with how he looks at Lute, even as he's laying there, dying. He's not crying like a bitch, just looking at Lute softly. Lute screaming for him, screaming his name. They cared for each other deeply.

And this... and this.... and this. WHAT DEAL DID YOU MAKE, LILITH? Did you make it with Sera? Did you make it with Adam? Did you make it with Lute? Did you really just want a little 'vacay' away from the hell you helped create? Left her husband, depressed and lonely. Left her daughter without any care or guidance. Maybe Alastor was sent in her place, perhaps? Seven years since he was seen after all, but why wouldn't he show up sooner if Lilith did care? Did she make a deal with Lute and Adam? Did she let Adam smash it so she could stay in heaven? Did Lute let her stay in exchange for getting Adam out of a position of power? Or was it maybe Sera who commissioned Lilith with a deal? Either way, I'm in full belief that it wasn't Adam's idea to move the extermination day up. I think he's a patsy, a scapegoat. I think Lute may have been manipulated, potentially, into manipulating Adam into this position. Was it even really Adam who came up with the idea to do the exterminations? Or was he the one who simply decided to fight originally because he was told heaven was at risk due to Lilith's rising power? The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions. I think it could be any number of these. Either way, Lute certainly does think she had authority over Lilith. Is it Lute just having hubris? Or is Lilith truly bound, just like Alastor, Husk, and Angel Dust?

Of course, now that we know a soul can be redeemed... and we certainly know that angels can fall. I don't think this will be the last we see of Adam.

I am the vampire Lestat. I'm immortal. More or less. The light of the sun, the sustained heat of an intense fire-these things might destroy me. But then again, they might not.

I'm six feet tall, which was fairly impressive in the 1780s when I was a young mortal man. It's not bad now. I have thick blond hair, not quite shoulder length, and rather curly, which appears white under fluorescent light. My eyes are gray, but they absorb the colors blue or violet easily from surfaces around them. And I have a fairly short narrow nose, and a mouth that is well shaped but just a little too big for my face. It can look very mean, or extremely generous, my mouth. It always looks sensual. But emotions and attitudes are always reflected in my entire expression. I have a continuously animated face.

My vampire nature reveals itself in extremely white and highly reflective skin that has to be powdered down for cameras of any kind.

And if I'm starved for blood I look like a perfect horror- skin shrunken, veins like ropes over the contours of my bones. But I don't let that happen now. And the only consistent indi- cation that I am not human is my fingernails. It's the same with all vampires. Our fingernails look like glass. And some people notice that when they don't notice anything else.

The Future of Ides

I am beyond pissed that I have to make this fucking post. But I’m at an impasse with the state of Tumblr and the tf community at large lately.

The continued degradation of the fundamental virtues of equity, human decency, and respect are becoming more and more scarce. After I made the first “Let’s Talk Honestly” post, I immediately noticed an uptick in false flags against my content, which I cannot dismiss as mere coincidence. Since I responded to an ask which was in support of my statements, just last night, I have received 7 new flags consecutively. All appeals have been denied: for the sake of brevity, I’ll just post one of the denials here.

This is a direct retaliatory effort against me. And when the very reason I am on Tumblr is being attacked and censored, I have no recourse. Tumblr is entirely disinterested in following their own content policies, and would rather blanket flag and take down anything that is flagged by the community or by algorithm without review or reasoning as to why. I have reached out to tumblr, and their response was a copy and paste customer service jargon that in essence said: “we know it’s a problem, we have no plans to address it.”

This puts me and my content in a predicament. I can either stay and try to continue posting with extreme limits on what I’m able to say and do, with trolls from within our own community actively seeking in a coordinated effort to destroy the blog. Or, I can go. The community at large has tried to clean up their own blogs and block those who are supportive of bigoted and pedophilic content, as have I, to little or no avail. I am at 5k followers at this time and I do not have the resources or energy to curate that base of readers. Thus, after this upcoming story, which will in all likelihood end up flagged and unable to be read, I cannot say whether or not Ides will continue.

This space has been safe for me for 13 years to express myself and write stories of transformation both outward and inward. I have tried to and succeeded in building a community of like minded folks who understand and appreciate the medium of erotic fiction with my rather niche subject matter. And while there have absolutely been bumps along the way, I have not faced adversity at this level ever before on this platform. I am for the first time unable to see a realistic solution to the issues faced, and it is a crushing blow to know that one of the few outlets for my creativity and expression is now reduced to what it is today. Not even the great purge was this difficult.

I will be looking into finding a new home for Ides, and my content at large. I will probably end up heading to blogspot and what you will see moving forward on this blog are links to the stories instead of reading them here on Tumblr. I am painfully aware of how much less of interaction and community involvement this will be, but in all truthfulness, it’s gone from a cathartic outlet to a miserable and soul sucking void.

To those who coordinated this effort against me: you win. Whatever disgusting, vile, hateful behaviors you continue to poison the tf community with are entirely on you. And what it devolves into is entirely on you. And the eventual censorship and destruction of the community is entirely on you.

Synopsis: Post-canon vento aureo, you are Giorno Giovanna’s bodyguard, and his obsession.

Length: A little over 2k.

Giorno Giovanna is something out of a dream. It’s difficult to not stare. His presence itself is enchanting, although often overwhelming.

He’s often misunderstood. Misrepresented. He’s a complex individual, it’s unfair to put his psychology in the same category as someone more simple-minded.

You can’t think of why his presence overwhelms you. His perfume is subtle, he’s well mannered, well spoken, well educated and cultured, well groomed, and relatively charming. There’s just something off about him, in your point of view. 

Giorno is naturally graceful, he’s only become more pleasing to the eyes as he’s gotten older. The way he holds his fingers up for birds to rest on him is something out of a fairytale.

You took this job because of the pay. Never mind the fact that your client is handsome, and generally pleasant to be around. His other bodyguards aren’t so bad either- Guido’s a nice man, when he’s not working. Sheila E seems fine to be around as well, but you haven’t really interacted with her much. They’ve both warned you about how Giorno is to be your absolute top priority- you’re not a mafioso, you’re just a bodyguard. It must be nice to have someone’s absolute loyalty like that, you think.

The way Giorno asks to be taken home to his room… It almost makes you believe that he really does need you. He seems soft compared to the others- like he isn’t hardened by the burden of life, or whatever that ‘Murolo’ guy was on about. 

Giorno’s voice is comforting and refreshing. His tone is quiet, and soft. You’re only really certain he’s speaking when he makes harder sounds, such as ‘t’ or ‘k.’ The way he looks at you with his doe eyes, and soft tone… it eats you alive to not succumb to his will. 

This misinterpretation would cost you your life, as Giorno falls head over heels at such a romantic, protective gesture of guiding him up his own staircase and reassuring him that all is well, you’re right there. 

He smiles. You can’t help but watch his lips as he speaks in that same soft spoken manner.

“Thank you, but you’re dismissed for the night.”

Giorno’s obsession drives him. He is nothing without hope, there is always a way for him to achieve his goals. He doesn’t really understand why he keeps getting off track- his only love is justice, and hope, it doesn’t make any sense for his mind to cling to a human being. 

Humans are vile things, really.  His stepfather was evil, his mother was evil, his peers were evil- there was no good in humanity besides from him.

There are humans who are good, there’s just a lot of problems that need fixing before he feels comfortable saying that all of humanity hasn’t failed him. 

Giorno is often well intentioned; It kills him to see people go through what he did. If he had the ability to protect others from the fate he once had, why not? He just knows he can do better. There is always more to be done, always more to improve upon. Self betterment is the path to freeing the soul. 

That has nothing to do with his methods, or his real opinion on the majority of people.

Giorno’s dream is to protect the innocent, above all else. 

His misanthropic point of view still seeps into the way he handles most situations. Passione hasn’t had a single slip up in many, many years. Having faith in your own men, and having faith that everyone other than your possessions will do what they can to get up in the world is a bit depressing, but it’s been working. 

As long as his possessions adore him, they won’t leave for something better. Not that you could leave Passione, betrayal means death, but Giorno will do everything in his power to not feel the sting of being left alone.

Giorno is most comfortable when he knows he has everyone in the room wrapped around his well manicured pinky finger. He doesn’t particularly mind playing into their fantasies, or allowing them a sense of control. You can think that you’re the boss in your relationship with Giorrno, but that’s never going to be true, even if you’re physically stronger than him. 

You probably think you are, too. Bodyguards are meant to be strong, it’s a part of the job description- why would someone strong hire three bodyguards? Giorno’s lack of height and subtle muscle make him look like he isn’t a threat, you might compare his body to a ballerina. A weapon would work against him, maybe… if it didn’t turn into a small animal every time you picked one up without asking for permission first. 

Giorno will often play damsel in distress to get what he wants. Even if it isn’t his preference, he’s fine with taking on whatever role he needs to take in order to maintain control. 

He keeps Guido happy by pretending to be considerably more delicate than he really is. He’s easily frightened, and happy to play into Guido’s need to be needed. He showers him with praise fairly often- and will do the same to you, if you react well enough. 

Giorno keeps Sheila E happy by allowing her to ask him as many questions as she’d like. She’s still young- a little bit of curiosity won’t kill him. Why, when he was her age, he was probably more curious. No harm done, it’s nice to stimulate himself with questions he normally wouldn’t think of. 

Those two are easy to please. He… doesn’t know how to keep you happy, yet. The last thing he needs is a resentful bodyguard. Attention, money, affection, and basic human needs are all bartering chips to Giorno. 

He doesn’t want to kiss you on the cheek, it makes him feel easy, but if you want special attention, and that’s the way to get you obsessed with him, fine. Run your hand over his stomach and watch him purr. He’ll fool around with you for a little bit, but he stops you before it can go any further. You’re his bodyguard, this is so inappropriate… If you think you can move on from this and go back to just watching him, let’s just pretend this never happened.

When you come in the next day, he trails his index finger down your spine, and smiles at the way you shiver for him.

Success. 

He seems like the prissy type, you think. Like he’d die if he got dirty or his hair was out of place. You’re just joking, it’s a way to pass the time while you’re at work… you can’t help but smile at the lack of dirt under his fingers despite handling plants all day. 

Giorno smiles back, eager to know what could possibly be making your lips curl up into a smile. 

“Do you like her? She’s gotten so big, lately. I think it’s all the attention I’ve been giving her.” 

Giorno is referring to the philodendron in his arms- a rather large pot with a clingy pile of vines sitting in the dirt. It’s his favorite at the moment, seeing it sprawled out always seems to put him in a good mood. 

“She’s great, sir.” You respond. You’re not really meant to talk to him too much- a bit of advice from Guido rings in your ears whenever Giorno attempts conversation with you.

‘When you’re watching him, you should watch the room, rather than him… it’s kinda easy to get lost in staring. Dude’s pretty.’ 

… You kind of see his point. 

Giorno has all the power in the world. He is life itself. He forbids evil from reaching the truth. But he’s soft, isn’t he. He needs someone to watch over him, to protect him. 

Maybe you’re content with a job like this. It’s not like he’s an awful boss. 

Giorno has always felt like a bird in a cage, placed next to a big window. Just out of reach of his fantasies. He won’t allow anything to be out of his reach, now that he’s free. 

Giorno won’t take what is not his. You have a choice, even if it’s clear what you should be picking. 

His hand rests on top of yours. You’re holding his fingers, and just placed a kiss to his porcelain skin. It’s meant to be symbolic- becoming a formal member of passione and a long-term bodyguard instead of part time is a fairly big deal. 

The words ‘freedom’ and ‘fate’ ring in Giorno’s ears. They aren’t foreign subjects to him. Fate has always been his, and freedom is something he’s always wanted. 

“You’ve become mine, my beloved.” He coos. You might feel your face heating up at such a statement. 

He plans on keeping you now that you’re officially one of his possessions. Your owner is not the one who rests in your bed, but the one who disrupts your sleeping schedule. 

Giorno isn’t sure what to do with himself when he finds himself wanting to be yours instead of the other way around. 

He’d let you take him. He fantasizes about it often- sometimes while you’re on the other side of his door, unaware that he’s touching himself to the thought of you being even slightly possessive towards him. 

You’re already his. He owns you, body and soul, there’s no question about it, but he wants you to want him, and not just in the physically attractive sense. Well. Right now he means in the physically attractive sense. 

What does it matter, though? Of course you’re his, you’re a living being. As far as Giorno’s concerned, life is his, and he is life’s. 

Oh, God, shut up. He can’t think about the technicalities, he’s too busy shoving his fingers into himself and trying to imagine what sort of tone you’d take with him- Would it be loving? Would you be firm? Would you scold him for looking at another? He needs it, he can’t live without it, devote yourself to him and expect a level of access to him in return, he’d happily slut himself out if it was for you and you alone-

You knocking takes him out of the mood entirely. His hands shoot out of his pants, and he backs himself up against the door to make sure you don’t come in.

“Yes, dearest?” He’s trembling. 

“Just making sure you’re alright, I haven’t heard you make any noise in a while…” 

“Oh! I’m fine, I was just… reading, and now I’m getting changed…”

Giorno has a habit of talking when he’s nervous, on those rare occasions, so him choking up like this is entirely unprecedented.

He makes a mental vow to never let you witness him like that again. 

You’re not really sure how you ended up moving with him into his new house.

It’s not like you’re the best person for the job. A live-in bodyguard is a lot more than what you originally signed up for, and when you voice this complaint, Giorno doesn’t seem to take it into account. 

He sighs a little, and makes a gentle reminder: You do as he says, and this is what he is commanding you to do. 

It’s not so bad living in a big house where all you ever do is make sure Giorno doesn’t drop dead. You’ve adjusted well to it, but it’s had it’s ups and downs. 

He’s gotten a lot more attentive, something you have mixed feelings on. 

Should you choose to hide from his ever-present stare, Giorno would pretend to not be able to find you, but speak.

“It’s instinct to fear what you do not understand. Your body serves you very well, darling.”

He opens the closet, where you obviously are not. 

“But I mean you no harm. You are very precious to me.”

The door shuts, and he flicks the lamp off- the only non-natural light in the room. The moon is full, and the curtains are always pulled back- Giorno loves the sun.

His eyes have already adjusted, but he’s sure yours have not.

“Let’s stop playing for tonight, dear. I’ll let you keep that hiding spot provided you return to me in ten seconds. I’ll even close my eyes.”

He starts to count out loud.

“Ten, nine…”

Oh God. What should you do? He’s pissed- you know it.

“Eight, seven, six.”

It’s better to obey. Just give in. You’re not risking his stand pulling you out by your hair again.

“Five, four…”

As you start to crawl out, you wince at the light coming back on.

There’s nothing on his face, not even a smile. The way he looks down at you as if it’s his rightful position is something you’ve become accustomed to, but it still hurts.

If you've read this far, you can probably come to the conclusion that imtryingsir did absolutely zero research, or even cared enough to follow the last 2 years of news about the Russian-Ukraine War, before making their abhorrently idiotic comment.

So why am I bothering to dignify this with a response when it's clear this person is being maliciously stupid? Because of this post. Specifically, the disgusting little remark they made where they tried to justify why a Jewish woman on social media deserved to be bullied/harassed (which eventually led to the Russia apologist comment above when they were called out on it by multiple Tumblr users):

Putting aside the gross victim-blaming and thinly-disguised antisemitism (which I'm sure my Jewish followers are deeply sick of at this point), what really gets me is how disingenuous this user is. They don't actually give a rat's ass about what's going on in Gaza: Someone who truly cares about genocide and the deaths/suffering of innocent people wouldn't be going out of their way to downplay/whitewash the genocidal actions of another country (Russia), or making comments dismissing another groups problems/trauma while dehumanizing them, or even straight up wishing for more death and destruction:

People like this (as well as the so-called "Pro-Palestine" users in the Jewish woman's post who were harassing her) are devoid of empathy. They relish in being cruel and condescending to others because they feel empowered in doing so, and they know they can get away with it without facing lasting consequences. They are doing nothing to help alleviate an already horrific situation, and are just making the world a worse place to live in. Only be compassionate/empathetic towards people they think are “deserving” of it."

People like imtryingsir only prove why it's important to have this conversation: If you're perfectly okay dismissing/downplaying the suffering of one group of people (be it Jews, Ukrainians, Palestinians, etc) so you can prop up your preferred group of people who are suffering because you think they are more "deserving" of empathy/compassion......................you need to do some serious self-reflection about the type of person you've become.

Personality?: Rejected as an outcast from early on in its life, looked down by its species. He generally tries to avoid attention and interactions with other alternates. However, due to its very hostile and self-hating nature, sometimes it can't help but to get into fights. Whether they'd be caused by others, or desperately seeking out some relief from its own troubled mind. This behavior has obviously caused a bit of a reputation for how violent it is. Him's uncaring on the matter, instead reasoning that the killings are in self-defense and a sort of "justice" for all the human lives its kind have taken away. It shows far more sympathy towards humans, aware of how fragile and complex they are. Constantly fascinated by their way of living and thinking. Gained a lot of knowledge about human history and other random topics. With its closest relationship being with a human, it has a soft side as well. Although having poor management of its negative emotions, it usually represses them for his close ones. It couldn't bear to unload its burden onto someone he cares for. Him feels less shame in expressing positive feelings. By no means he's overly expressive, but he knows how to be gentle. Oftentimes displaying casual gestures of care and a willingness to spend time with a close beloved if asked.

Thinks Before Acting?: In a neutral state, sure. Sadly, that can fly right out the window once it's starting to become agitated. Blind rage can easily take a hold of it, making it impulsively lash out or spew out some truly heinous words that it may or may not regret later.

Positive Traits?: Selfless, inquisitive, caring, persistent, attentive and loyal.

Negative Traits?: Impatient, self-loathing, aggressive, over-protective, stubborn and vindictive.

Way Of Speaking?: Only speaks fluent English and with no noticeable accent in its speech. His voice is low and gravelly, and stays at a calm tone. Makes it more intimidating without even raising its voice. But when he does, it sounds more demonic with constant inhumane growling interrupting while trying to talk. Occupation?: Doesn't have a human profession, he'd rather steal cash and goods if absolutely needed. Neither does it have any alternate tasks, or anything else alike. Though unless, you consider being the surrogate father and only caretaker of a young adult, a job by itself. Then yes, it still has his hands full with parental responsibilities.

Powers/Skills?: Starting with his most basic skill set, which is also common within its species. At a decent level, it can mimic other people's voices with minor slip ups and defects for a certain amount of time. Has night vision and is capable of body alteration too. Sees everything in pitch black places, and fully able to contort and twist its body in freakishly vile ways. Surface adhesion is another one to mention, free to move around walls and ceilings without the risk of falling. A better advanced ability it knows is matter manipulation. What that means is that he can change his entire being into black fog-like smoke. It may reshape its size or form for certain situations. Him uses that to sneak around and enter any building it wants. Moving onto its distinct skills, which are seen amongst wrath alternates. Its physical strength is greater than many other flawed impersonators. Sometimes even surpassing some doppelgangers, depending on what sin they're made from. To add, his senses are way more overdeveloped. In this case, his sense of smell is especially heightened.

Hobbies?: Most beloved pastime is reading books, there's no topping that. Already in its first week of living, it grew a passionate fondness for human literature. Since then it's been near impossible to see it without a book in its hands. Favorite genres are history and biology, texts that explore factual knowledge are its go-to. Given the chance, it'll go on a lengthy monologue about a random topic it happened to read recently. Happens to like board games too, mostly influenced by his son. Though, it prefers simple card games as they cause less frustration. One hobby, that might be a bit unexpected from it, is teaching his cat tricks. Here's some context. If there was something to rival its love for books, it'd be felines. Whether it's big felines or tiny domesticated ones, he loves them all. An unusual fixation to say the least. It had waited long until it could get its hands on a cat. When finally given one, it quickly started to care for her. Then soon started with basic behavior training but later moved on with teaching tricks. He also likes to roam the area around its home. While it'd rather spend its time inside like a stay-at-home dad, it won't shy away from exploring places. It'll hide itself and observe from a distance if there's people or too many alternates.

Habits?: Frequently smokes, nearly every day. Sounds bad but since he's an alternate, there's no consequences. Likes the "feel" of it, and unironically loves the smell. When experiencing some kind of really bad stress or anxiety, it roughly bites its own skin. More precisely, its hands. There's been moments where he almost bit a finger off. However, the worst tendency it has is the way he handles his negative emotions. It'll often choose to bottle anything up and deal with it alone. It'll lie or change the subject when anyone brings up its issues. In return, it all creates a sort of vicious cycle where it bottles up its feelings, refuses to handle them in a healthy manner, violent conflicts ensue against random alternates to relieve itself, and then acts like nothing happened as if it's moving on.

Relationships?: As mentioned before, its closest relationship is with a human. And that, being Mark Heathcliff. Him has known them for a long time, first starting interaction when he was very young. From that point on, it took the role of a father figure and had to learn how to take care of a human child. In the early years, it was conflicted with its actions. Questioning if what it did was right. But came to terms with itself and stuck with its decision to care for a child. Interacting with a human has pretty much influenced it in the ways it thinks. While nowhere near a perfect parent, it clearly deeply loves Mark and is overprotective of them. He has given it a sense of purpose for its existence, it highly values that. They've formed a strong familial bond and friendship. Both are also secretive of this relationship, for the sake of their own safety and to not attract unwanted attention. They live together as outcasts, surviving however they can. Trying to make the best out of their lives. There's another human, Cesar Torres. Them and Mark are very close friends, eventually he had to meet Him. First encounter was terrible due to unfortunate circumstances. Saving Cesar from their own impersonator, Him wasn't seen in its friendliest state. Took a while for either of them to talk with one another. Him let Cesar approach it at his own pace and stayed dismissive whenever they happened to be in the same room. Once they actually manage to strike up a meaningful conversation, things get easier as Cesar feels more comfortable. Both strike up a friendship with their deep love for literature. Cesar couldn't help but introduce it to musicals and everything else related to theater. As time passes, getting to know each other more and sharing activities together, Cesar is seen as just another family member to Him.

Moving away from humans. Xanthan (a theraangel) was someone Him remained unaware of until Mark introduced it about them. It had no idea he was secretly talking to them. As an alternate, it had believed that angels were long extinct because of the overlord's indoctrination. First meeting went terribly to make it short. Him was skeptical towards their suggested idea of redemption. Keeping a hostile attitude, held back from getting worse by Mark's insistence to trust the stranger. Through persistent arguing, it agreed at trying the whole redemption thing but only in exchange that Xanthan would become a guardian angel for Mark. From that point on, it stays on neutral terms. Later on, they're respectful towards each other and manage to form some kind of friendship. Him admires their way of fighting and gradually grows interested in their past as an alternate. Once they grow much closer, its feelings are a bit complicated. Though, when Xanthan confesses that he fell in love with it, it gets even more confused. With Mark's help and enough time to think it through, Him reciprocates the sentiment. Experiencing a romantic bond for the first time.

Mentioning enemies. It doesn't have any trouble with humans. Alternates typically fall into this category, ones that Him has had fights with. At least the ones who happen to survive it, can actually call themselves as its enemies. No particular rivalry with anyone. Unless, you'd count Six (a doppelganger) as one. They're not really rivals though, more or less just enemies who are aware of each other's existence. Six is definitely an opposite to Him in many ways. Serving as an example of what the impersonator could have been. Lastly, Lucifer or alternate "Gabriel". Its overlord and creator. Its disobedience wasn't looked over. The way it delayed taking out its target was one thing, but what really got them were the rumors spreading around that it had begun to care for a human child. Lucifer confronted Him merely once. Making it clear that its actions were shameful and if it caused any major protest in their plans, they'd know immediately. Since then neither have come face-to-face again. Safe to say that what they had said stuck with Him. It's not actively worshiping them, no less it still fears what the overlord’s truly capable of.

Past? (Short Version): Created and took form in the depths of Hell, in the year 1978. Him, while lacking an actual name at the time like most of its kind, was made from the sin of wrath. A well-off start for an alternate, regarded as one of the more higher ranked sins amongst them. Its time in Hell was short-lived. Soon as it gained consciousness, the first face it gazed upon was none other than Lucifer, Hell's only ruler. They wasted no time at informing the new group of fresh alternates about what they were made for. The word indoctrination fitted best to describe their speeches. Besides all the many beliefs and ideas enforced on them, one detail was clearly repeated. Which was that the human species were parasites, never meant to roam the Earth. Lucifer had all the right to reclaim what was rightfully theirs. Impersonators had one important task to complete before they could do more. It had to replace a human. When the victim gained M.A.D, it'd fully copy their identity and replace them. Him's target was no one note-worthy. Seemingly a common family man with a wife and two children, a son and daughter.

It spent a lot of its time simply stalking the victim's household. Already, it was enamored with the whole concept of "family". A sort of social group with many different dynamics at play. Everything was fascinating to watch, but it paid more attention to its victim. He definitely had a protective role. Always keeping an eye out on his kids, making sure neither got hurt. Wasn't very talkative but showed affection through his actions. He especially interacted a lot with his four year old son, Mark. The children were an interesting sight for the alternate as well. Their naivety, their playfulness and openness to loving and being loved. The quality of innocence its species didn't get to have. Him couldn't help but feel as though it too needed to protect them. It didn't understand why. It wasn't created to be a parent. All the while these complicated feelings festered, it picked up on human literature. The first book it read was about parenting, found in its target's belongings. These human written texts began influencing its way of thinking and shaping its morals. One read book turned to ten, and then thirty, and so on. It mainly focused on educational books. Grabbing at whatever it could find in the house. Him hid itself in the dust-ridden attic and tried keeping itself obscured. Things remained like that for a year. However, it had noticed something had been brewing between the parents over the months. Frequent arguments would occur and they got steadily worse. Until it all boiled down to its target leaving the house in the dead of night, never to be seen again. While worried at the fact that he failed its most crucial task, it held more concern for the two children.

The mother's mental state deteriorated further when her husband left. Which sadly resulted in one of the kids being on the receiving end of her anger. For what reason, Mark was the one to be singled out while the daughter never got abused. To go back a bit, Mark and Him had interacted before a few instances. Most were accidental but others were more intended. The boy saw the alternate as an imaginary friend by then, who happened to look like his dad a little. Giving it the name “Him”. So when the father left and the abuse started, it resulted in a pivotal decision. Him could leave the broken household and perhaps try searching for its victim, or stay for Mark. No easy choice. If it did what it truly wanted, it'd be spitting at the face of its creator, and once other alternates somehow found out it'd be rejected by its own species. Despite the fear, it decided to stay. Choosing to look after Mark by itself. A few years went by seemingly fine. Fine as it could have been for them. Of course, Him had that constant paranoia about what it was doing. Whether it should embrace or reject its paternal instincts. Its worst fear was yet to realize as Hell's overlord later caught wind of what it was up to through word of gossip. One night, as Him was put to sleep by an unknown force, it was confronted by them. Disgusted with Him's actions, Lucifer threatened that if it were to get anymore involved in delaying their plans for humanity, things for it would end quickly.

The overlord's words resided within its mind, but it continued to stay as a surrogate father to Mark. Him honestly had expected to die from that encounter but it appeared as though it merely received a harsh warning. With that event and pretty much being viewed as an outcast by its own kind, it had no other choice than to make its relationship work with young Mark. Although literally being an alternate, when Mark was old enough to know that, he was unphased. Him was no perfect parent, yet it did its best to provide all the safety and support the kid needed. Constantly learning and trying to improve its parenting as Mark grew up. Not every advice it gave was good, but it had no ill intentions. Seemed as though it all paid off when Mark turned eighteen. He immediately moved out with Him to an apartment complex. Where they continue to live out their lives together in secret.

You everr realize that Vivziepop is completely bullshitting when it comes to ethnic casting because of Millie?

Like we are definitely getting imp human disguises for merch reasons so its definitely going to come up.

But like if Millie is black then her family should be played by black VAs but all of them are white VAs. Like I don't think Millie is adopted since she looks like a younger version of her mother.

The best course would then be making Millie white and no we can't use Erica being the original VA as evidence because that was always meant to be a temp casting.

But then this creates an issue in Helluva Boss having no fucking diversity like Vivziepop doesn't have to answer to corporate demands to make the ENTIRE CAST white. She can choose to add diversity.

If she makes Millie black that's also showcasing a huge issue in Helluva's lack of diversity in its main group of characters and Millie could come off as a token. Then you have the fact Morgana and Ed would come under fire for taking POC roles as well as Spindle allowing it unless Vivziepop retcons Millie as adopted or half siblings with Sallie.

Like Into The Spiderverse had half its human cast be POC and it answered to corporate demands. Then Across The Spiderverse without spoiling anything has a MAJORITY of the cast be POC.

Now you can argue Spiderverse is based off existing material unlike Helluva but those existing materials had put effort into adding POC in the first place. And guess what Spiderverse had consulted actual minorities when it came to development of the project.

Vivziepop is latina but she's white passing so she needs to consult people who don't pass to get a better understanding overall on things. Like I'm disconnected from my own culture but just because I'm part of it doesn't mean I have a full picture of it.

Vivziepop also isn't black, asian or indigenous so if she's telling stories that features them she needs to do research and consult people.

She actually consulted Morgana about Sallie May being trans thankfully but... I never hear any talk about other people she talks to which shows poor ass attempts. Like Morgana's insight is valid but she does not speak for all trans people and yes you aren't going to please everybody with representation but just consulting a SINGLE PERSON is insane. We also know Viv according to leaked screenshots has or had some form of transphobia so she absolutely needs to consult more people if she's trying to change and do better especially if she's writing about a trans character.

Like Morgana being a white transwoman will not have the same experience as a black transwoman for example. Like I know that from actively trying to learn about trans people.

Like there's a youtuber UnicornofWar who made a video about how the show RWBY is terrible at handling its racism allegory. Now Unicorn is white but actively went out of their way to consult multiple POC for the video and did a shit ton of research. Now I will say Unicorn in the past has said ignorant things about stuff like white washing (thinking its ok because of art style color pallets back then) in earlier videos but currently denounces that viewpoint (note: Unicorn as far as Im aware has never said anything with vile. I have to clarify so I don't misrepresent their person and people don't assume Unicorn like said a slur) and actually apologizes for their ignorance.

Has Vivziepop ever denounced her old views or behavior? Has she apologized for being ignorant in certain things? Is making a serious effort to change? Has Vivziepop researched throughly and listened to POC insights or concerns?

As far as I'm aware she hasn't.

I have noticed Viv's weird choices for Millie as a black character. I hate to say this but Millie is supposed to be token rep which to me is weird because nobody was pressuring Viv to add rep to her shows. I will say this even in a universe where Viv hired black VAs to voice Millie's family and did do properly research and consulted black people, Millie would still be considered token rep because she is the only the only main character in the show to not have an self-centered EP and has the least amount of screentime.

It makes me wonder if the reason why the IMPs don't have a canon human form yet is because Viv doesn't want to draw POC characters. She has shown she knows the importance of these disguises and they sell well on merch but the only characters who have canon human forms are Stolas and Loona, two white characters who arguably don't even need them. Blitzo is voiced by Brandon Roger who is a mixed Filipino (It's also canon Blitzo looks like Brandon Roger and Blitzo and Brandon Roger are intertwined together so it doesn't make sense for Blitzo to be white), Millie being a black woman, and Moxxie, despite what you might believe is a mixed Latino.

The POC rep we already have isn't good either. In Spring Broken, Verosika and her gang, who the majority are POCs, gets arrested and Verosika makes a joke about sucking police dicks to get out of jail. Having a POC character make a rape joke about police corruption unironically is not funny. Moxxie's mom is obviously supposed to be Latina, falls into the trope of nice POC women who get brutally abused and killed by their white husbands. This actually could have work and wouldn't be as tokenizing if 1. we got to learn about Moxxie's mom as a person and 2. her death wasn't solely use to be angst bait for a male character.

The Spiderverse crew actively puts effort and consulted with POC about characters from their culture. During the early stage of writing for Pavitr Prabhakar, the writing team struggled writing his character and called his VA, Karan Soni to help them write and consult on the character. Thanks to Karan Soni's contribution for Pavitr Prabhakar, he is beloved by desi people alike. Viv doesn't do that and probably will never. She has shown time and time again, she doesn't respect religions, using their symbols as an aesthetic and for monetary gain. Viv's designs for black and other POC characters are terrible, them alway never having POC features and looking racial ambiguous as hell and she ignored the criticism from black and POC people for these POC characters.

I'm not a Jocelyn fan either. She's toxic and vile, but I find her more compelling in a lot of ways than say, Lily Ortiz – especially when the writers want the readers to see Lily as this pure as the driven snow angel who can do no wrong. Jocelyn is horrible, but she did put her life at personal risk to save others at Homecoming paid a steep price for it. She was also hit hard by Cody's death, so there's some humanity there too, even if it's just a drop.

There’s a lot to this ask so I’m going to tackle the littler bits first, starting with the ILITW cast and their weaknesses.

The It Lives characters are all incredibly flawed in their own ways. Their stans don’t think they’re innocent: they acknowledge and embrace those flaws because those are what make the characters so human.

Ava’s biggest flaws are that she’s kind of reckless, and that she’s sarcastic toward people who are easily angered which endangers her.

Andy’s biggest flaw is that he gets angered very quickly, though he has good reasons for it, he still does fly off the handle at times. Anger leads to rash and not very well thought out decisions, which can very easily get you hurt or killed, especially in a horror series.

Stacy’s biggest flaw (which we do see going away as the book goes on) is her fixation with appearance and status.

Lucas’s biggest flaws are unwillingness to ask for help and biting off more than he can chew, which are also behaviors that are dangerous enough in real life, but potentially deadly in horror series.

I can’t really say what Dan’s biggest flaws are because we get so little interaction with him in the series, and all of Noah’s flaws can be attributed to the trauma he’s faced throughout his life, as even before Jane died, his parents had a lot of issues with their marriage, which was something he was aware of and tried to shield his sister from.

If Noah dies and takes Jane’s place, the ILITW crew is shown and stated to be completely unaware of it, the MC being the only person who knows of Noah’s true fate. Given this, the same could probably be said if the MC dies and takes Jane’s place. It’s not that the ILITW crew used the MC: they simply aren’t aware of the true nature of their death.

And given all the chaos and trauma that took place in the book, it’s perfectly understandable why the ILITW crew would want to move on in their lives without revisiting the ordeal more than they need to. I’d probably do the same. However, they’re more than willing to help out in ILB, and they still meet for pizza every year so they never fall out of touch and never forget what happened and those they lost.

It also makes sense why the MC can’t and won’t let go of their supernatural experience. Jane, their best friend, died right before their very eyes, was stuck as a shadow monster for a decade, and then Jane’s brother Noah (who arguably becomes MC’s closest friend as a result of their shared loss) dies and takes her place. The MC probably feels some survivor’s guilt and feels as if they’re to blame for what happened, and wants to make it right by “fixing” things if they can, which is why they’re devoted to becoming a monster hunter/tracker.

None of these characters are perfect. Absolutely none of them. But what person is? To have a flawless, completely innocent character who has done absolutely no wrong is completely unrealistic.

Moving onto Lily, who I’ll admit isn’t my favorite of the bunch.

It is true that the ILITW crew is dealing with some heavy shit. Abuse, blackmail, estrangement, familial neglect, PTSD, struggles with identity, struggles with ostracism. That is very true.

However.

Lily’s big life-or-death issue isn’t merely that her crush doesn’t like her back, that’s kind of an oversimplification. She’s mercilessly bullied because she’s fat (and maybe there’s a bit of homophobia thrown in there too, I’m not actually 100% sure) and she’s preyed upon by her crush and her crush’s friend who think manipulating Lily and humiliating her on homecoming night is funny.

Lily is not a physically strong character. She can’t fight, she runs away, and is generally no help in a fight. But not every character can realistically be an action hero and badass. She also suffers from low self-esteem from the bullying (which she mentions occurred throughout her childhood as well) and has little to no confidence.

To be frank, to say she thrives off of playing the victim comes across as victim-blaming.

Lily does shove Ava and yell at her for almost killing Jocelyn in the fight, and I’m not trying to excuse that because that’s pretty harsh, but I’d probably chalk her reaction up more to adrenaline and fear than trying to pin all the blame onto her. Lily did foreshadow early on in the book that the monster could enthrall Ava using her powers and was probably aware that the monster had some form of control over her during the fight.

Additionally, she doesn’t seem to give Jocelyn a free pass either: she was visibly scared and upset during the fight where Jocelyn had the upper hand and after all is said and done, the principal is the one who tells her (and Stacy) to help Jocelyn to the nurse’s office.

Lily doesn’t blame Ava and doesn’t hold any rancor over the fight after everything has settled down. Her reaction is pretty much on par with everyone else’s emotions in the ILITW crew after the fight: fear, helplessness, and guilt. I mean, she almost watched someone get strangled to death in front of her.

She does acknowledge the possibility that Britney changed and began treating her better because of Redfield, but doesn’t want it to be true. She acknowledges it and probably deep down knows it’s true, but still wants to give Britney a chance because they used to be close in childhood. She even states at one point that Britney used to defend her from bullying when they were young. Lily wants to give Britney a chance to change because she remembers all those fond memories as kids, but also, her confidence is so depleted from the years of bullying that she just wants someone, anyone to show some semblance of care for her, even if it isn’t completely genuine.

Hell. I’ve been bullied throughout my whole life, and I’ve dated people who treated me like absolute shit just because they paid attention to me. Lily is absolutely the type to do the same. I empathize.

Should Lily survive the events of ILITW, she goes on to create a successful indie video game with a sequel in the works. That didn’t surprise me because she mentions having gone to a coding camp, and she also had a 4.5 GPA in high school. She’s used her wildly smart brain and incredible drive to find her own success and further her own life, just like everyone else from the ILITW crew.

Which is why your statement about everyone else bettering their lives “while she gorges on pizza” comes across as incredibly and unapologetically fatphobic.

Lily is not my personal favorite. She’s actually my least favorite of the ILITW crew. But every character brings something to the group. Lily is timid, meek, and suffers from a lack of confidence. She’s not a fighter and she’s frequently terrified throughout the book.

But she still helps the group. She helps research, she helps obtain the hospital records when the group visits Dan, she risks life and limb to go into the woods and perform the binding ritual, and she does it again to save Andy. She faces her fears time after time after time.

So in a way, though Lily is fearful and afraid throughout the book, she’s actually the bravest character of them all.

🦀 'How did they handle realizing they were in love?' - They didn't ALDKALDKSLFJ- Ok, but seriously, neither of them took it very well.

Karl realized way before she did, when she was taking care of him after he had gotten near blackout drunks after a bad meeting, and it actually took him a few days to realize that 'love' was exactly what it was. Emelias realization is actually a story here, 'Rainy Day', followed by 'Dear Mother' that happened only week later.

Both realizations were met with straight panic and fear- Karl tried to convince himself that it wasn't actually what it was, that he didn't deserve it if it was, and he was genuinely afraid both for himself and her if it ever came out; Emelia was genuinely terrified because she wasn't sure he'd even understand, and given the fact Miranda already hated her, she knew that that information ever getting out would spell tragedy as it had with a prior instance. They both completely ignored that realization in hopes that it would go away, when in reality it only made it worse.

So basically, they handled it by NOT handling it. At all.

💔 'Do they have an past relationship experience? How does it effect them?' - Strap in. 😂😭

Karl never had a 'proper' relationship beforehand- a one night stand here, a week or two long fling there, but nothing he ever fully considered a relationship. But also given the skewed view on 'affection' from Miranda and the others, he really didn't want one, nor did he ever learn exactly what went into one. Mirandas abuse severely kinda fucked him up on what to expect, plus he was too busy for one so he never searched for it.

Emelia DID actually have a relationship- not while human, but with Regina. As a kid she always dreamed of having that nice happy family, and still held onto that hope despite everything- and she genuinely thought she had found what she wanted in the village girl once she got to know her-

And then Regina got sick.

Upon Regina getting sick, she was exposed to Mirandas vileness when offering herself to be an experiment to try and live to be with Emelia, because the woman very quickly picked up on the fact that Emelia truely loved her and therefore denied any chance to save her; literally because Emelia was what she considered her 'greatest failure', and she despises her with a passion and will work to make her life a living hell if she shows any kind of happiness (hence Dear Mother). Mirandas denial and jabbing allowed Regina to die, and therefore rendered Emelia absolutely terrified of feeling any kind of affection- which is why her realizing she loved Karl afterward was such a huge issue. She was afraid both of his reaction and Mirandas if she were to ever find out, and it fucked her up a little more than she already was.

Going off the Survival AU, when they actually HAVE a proper relationship, they're both still unlearning toxic behavior even with a constantly growing family. Emelia needs to unlearn being so closed off (and takes to it pretty quickly when given the chance) and Karl need to unlearn.... alot. Specifically his tendency to be unnecessarily possessive and defensive both of himself and Emelia. They make it work given the shared trauma, but it IS a struggle sometimes.

🕊 'Give a general domestic tidbit' - Probably one of the sweetest things- when Karl eventually feels so tired he's about to fall over, he will purposely look for Emelia, or will radio her with a code word they have for that specific scenario. Reason being, simply put, he doesn't like sleeping alone, and finds difficulty doing so. He's actually afraid of sleeping, and is incredibly uncomfortable with the idea of just passing out where he's standing like he used to before she came along.

If she's working, she'll drop what she's doing almost immediately either to find him or if he finds her, and attempt to lead him away to a safer place, be it either the corner of the Foundry, one of the rooms they have with a cot, or up to her room on the surface. She'll get him comfy how she can, make sure he's the one close to the wall (corner bed ftw) and he is promptly little spoon while she relaxes him enough to actually sleep either by singing/humming, rubbing his back/shoulders or playing with his hair. It usually knocks him tf out pretty immediately, and she might also fall asleep as well. Its also the only way he can sleep relatively peacefully for a bit before the nightmares fully kick in, which also helps that she's right there. She wakes up pretty easily if he starts moving, so she can in turn wake him up before it gets bad, and the cycle continues if he needs more sleep.

There have been times where they just lay there for an entire day, if not moreso, until he's rested enough to keep working. Its always followed by a good amount of food as he's fully waking up to regain that energy, and she takes special care in picking what's needed. 💙 Its a small routine that doesn't haven VERY often with how little he sleeps, but its one that they figured out quickly that was the most effective and let them both be the most productive otherwise.

He has no experience at all!

Mahito has never really been curious on it, either. He has read about the philosophy of love and the importance of it regarding humanity, but he has no personal experience. The closest form of love he has experienced is the companionship and loyalty he feels towards curses - which, in all honestly, he can be extremely biased with when it comes to his little squad vs. other curses in general.

If he ever ended up in a romantic situation and finding himself affectionate towards another, it's a scenario that is always going to be toxic to some varying degree. Both because Mahito will absolutely be weird about it (due to his inexperience and personality) and because his true nature/desires are inherently intertwined with malevolence. Mahito is an unpredictable curse and when he would decide to be cruel or manipulative to a partner would be impossible to tell. Human partners are often going to face degradation from him. A fellow curse would have an easier time if they are capable of such things. Anything that isn't human will likely not be degraded as much but it's not impossible either because it's Mahito.

In all honesty, someone willing to be partnered to Mahito in such a way would have to be a little fucked up themselves. I don't mean like, evil or something. But they'll end up having to tolerate his vile behavior and murderous nature - which means they are fully an accessory to the harm he causes if they choose to be with him. I don't just mean harm he does to them, because there are plenty of healthy relationships that consent to such things. I mean more-so harm he does to others. There is absolutely no redeeming him from being a villain. Even if he were to calm down a little bit, his intentions for humanity are unwavering.

Romance with Mahito, I imagine, is a chaotic thing. He likes to experiment, so he'd want to try human things to see if he understands the point of them. As a curse, he doesn't actually care much and may turn human customs into his own personal variation. Which... usually is unpleasant as is with most things he does.

All in all, he has no experience with romance and he probably shouldn't ever.

I didn’t want to have to make this post, but after discussion with others and a lot of thought, it feels irresponsible not to.

The amount of casual and even blatant transphobia I see enabled on a daily basis in the Bloodborne community is honestly quite sickening. I and those I care about have been personally impacted by this behavior — often coming from, and enabled by, popular blogs on this website. I am going to be focusing on the behavior of one individual here whom I feel it could be damaging to other trans people and our allies to be unaware of their behavior. Trigger warning for varying extremes of transphobia under the cut.

My point in making this post is to simply give context to publicly available statements made by tumblr user k//tyahina, who has expressed some very disturbingly transphobic views in defense of another user, s//intmicolash: an open transphobe, among other things. I refuse to have the type of absolutely vile things this person was saying anywhere near my blog — and beyond just that, there is literally just too much to cover it all. It is to the extreme of calling trans people “mentally ill”, stating that “transphobia doesn’t exist”, and that being cisgender doesn’t exist, rather “it’s called being normal”, and other disgustingly bigoted things of the sort.

For context: a friend of mine (who will not be identified as I refuse to make them susceptible to harassment, especially because they are trans themself) sent an anonymous message to k//tyahina regarding the fact that she very regularly platforms s//intmicolash. Katya never responded to this ask directly. However, shortly after it was sent, the following post was uploaded to her personal blog:

If you don’t understand why Katya’s statements are transphobic, that is okay. No one is born understanding these things. However, I want to make it clear that in context, these statements are the talking points that transphobes have repeatedly used against trans people to demean and disrespect us.

Point One: the way to change someone’s bigoted beliefs is not to expose the people that are being targeted to said bigot by regularly platforming them.

Point Two: this point is clearly coming from the perspective of someone who has not personally had to face transphobia before. Trans people have every reason to be afraid of, upset by, and angry at people spouting bigoted views. Those people have contributed to the systemic oppression we have been enduring, and still ARE enduring, to this day. Trans people are not overdramatic or unreasonable to expect their allies to do the bare minimum by not platforming bigots. If an “ally” is unwilling to do this, they are not an ally in any meaningful way. Finally, human rights are not up for debate. Bigotry cannot be “logically debated” away — because it is fundamentally not based upon logic. It is based upon hatred. Not only that — I feel it is hypocritical for Katya to demand that trans people “debate” someone’s transphobia away when she, herself, refuses to challenge this bigotry in any meaningful way; rather electing to publicly defend this bigotry as “ ‘questionable’ ” at worst, and hurling accusations of “twisting words” and general disingenuity at an actual trans person said bigotry is directed towards

Point Three: not reblogging from an out-and-proud transphobe is not “throwing someone who is wrong away from society”. If you have more allegiance to making bigots feel safe than the people they are targeting, it calls into question how much value you place on trans people’s safety and wellbeing.

Point Four: someone who has claimed that trans people are mentally diseased, that transphobia doesn’t exist, and who regularly invites TERFs to engage with their content is not “questionable”. They are a transphobe and a bigot. To downplay the severity of those extremely bigoted statements is wildly belittling to the point of being an outright lie. If you place your desire to “reblog shitposts” over platforming a bigot, it calls into question how much you actually value trans people’s safety and wellbeing. To equate becoming violently transphobic with “expressing pain slightly differently” is an extreme misrepresentation. S//intmicolash is not critiquing the flaws in the trans community, they are calling trans people a disease. No matter ANY personal bad experiences, spouting off bigotry is NEVER acceptable.

Final Point: a trans person not wanting to interact with a transphobe is not petty, overdramatic, or unreasonable. Not wanting to have to see transphobia, or the defense of it, is NOT the same as “blocking people you dislike”. To state such an equivalence belittles the severity that exposure to transphobia can have.

Tags: to state that someone who quite literally just asked if k//tyahina was aware that she was platforming a transphobe is a “creepy stalker” for doing so, when s//intmicolash’s bigotry is front and center regularly, is an extreme misrepresentation of the situation. Calling s//intmicolash’s transphobic statements bigoted is not “twisting his words”. Said words were quite literally that being trans is a disease. There is nothing that could possibly be misinterpreted there. No “missing important facts” could contextualize those statements in any way that would make them less transphobic or bigoted.

I also want to highlight the fact that Katya’s immediate response to a single person requesting if she was knowingly platforming a transphobe was to IP block them and vaguepost about how they need to “touch grass”. The fact that she did not even publish the original ask sent is also very bizarre to me. If she was so confident she is in the right, there would be no reason to not give the context for her statements.

I am making this post to provide that context which Katya was unwilling to, make an argument explaining why it matters, and provide both sides of this story. More than anything, though, I am making this post in hopes of starting a civil discussion about how we handle transphobia when it presents itself in our communities. Katya is also somewhat correct about something: others can do a lot to encourage people to change when they express bigotry — but not by staying silent and letting it slide. I sincerely hope the situation improves, and I hope that others who are able to do their part to encourage this positive change.

I am NOT making this post to start “drama”, to invite the harassment of ANY party involved, to make the accusation that Katya was acting intentionally or maliciously, to “““cancel””” Katya, or to start ““discourse””. Again: do not harass k//tyahina OR s//intmicolash. Doing so is malicious and unproductive. I do not condone anyone using my statements to justify pointless cruelty or bullying.

However, trans people do not deserve to be treated with such open malice, suspicion, and scorn when trying to make our communities a safer place for ourselves. I will not tolerate anyone choosing to belittle the severity of this issue.

I implore everyone to be civil and courteous in the notes. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to DM me. I am not, however, interested in “debating” whether or not it is acceptable to minimize, excuse, or defend transphobia as demonstrated here. If that basic idea is not something you can get behind, you are not welcome on either this post nor this blog.

I got sick and slept for a few days to come back to this blog to someone trying to argue how simping/lusting for a minor character isn't pedophilia??? so a very bare bone but decent enough reasoning as to why the annon or annon's are wrong.

- 1 - it is, by definition, it is. there's not if's, and's, or but's about it. yes it's a fictional character, but it is still a child, so by definition you are defending pedophilia.

- 2 - children characters, regardless of how old they are in human years, if they are defined as a child by their species or peers, it's a child, point blank. so the whole "but they lived so and so years" argument, is an empty excuse to to be a pedophile without the repercussions of your actions or the judgment of your vile behavior.

- 3 - I'm 19, going onto 20, if I see a child character, I don't think about them past "damn, it's a kid" or "wow, that's my sibling now" because thinking past that is disgusting and concerning. the absolute worst I've done, is aged up characters to feel comfortable with the idea of being *friends* with them because I don't feel comfortable being friends with anyone 2 years younger than me.

- 4 - fiction, can bleed into reality. people who engage in that style of "content" can and most do, act on it. that's why it is repulsive and vile, by defending it you are actively encouraging it and putting real children at risk.

- 5 - what if it was you? seriously, what if it was happening to you? what if it was your best friend or a younger family member? would you be comfortable with it then? if you can't say you'd be okay with something in that context, with nothing else changing but the person it was happening to, then clearly something about the situation is wrong, and if you cannot understand that, you need help.

a child, is a child.

children, cannot consent because they don't understand, their minds aren't developed enough to understand and quite frankly, it's repulsive and terrifying that someone has tried to defend this behavior. worse if it was more than one person. I am not speaking from a place of "moral superiority" but from the place of a past victim, I was groomed as a kid. it was a terrible experience that haunts me to this day to the point I no longer celebrate my birthday anymore. 3 years of my childhood was lost to someone I thought I could trust, and so did my family and I am lucky that they never went all the way with me despite their best efforts. and if you think a monster ruining a person's life is okay, I hope you get the help you need. it is on the adult for behaving in such a repulsive manor and to the annon or annon's trying to argue that this is okay behavior, I hope you seek out therapy and get the help that you so clearly need. this isn't okay by any means and the fact you are trying to defend it speaks volumes to what kind of monster you are.

good on the owner of this page for discontinuing the content that led to this issue, you are a good person for doing this and I am genuinely very grateful that you have done this. I'm sorry for the petty and idiotic drama it has caused you. I hope things stop and you get to go back to your normal life and get to enjoy the things you enjoy without dealing with grimey monsters who try to defend other monsters like them.
