You pushed against Alec’s chest in an attempt to gain his attention, pulling your lips away from his own for a moment to speak. He continued to kiss you, lips closing in around the skin of your neck and peppering up and down roughly.
“Alec”
His name left your lips in a breathy whimper and you felt him smirk against your neck, lips brushing across the skin momentarily as he spoke.
“Yes, baby?”
You paused for a moment and he pulled back to look at you, concern washing through him. You sent him a shy smile before you opened your mouth.
“Can you- can we be more gentle today?” The question was adorably small and shy, making him laugh against you lovingly, moving to press a small passionate kiss to your lips.
“Of course we can, adorable girl. You just tell me exactly how you want it.”
You sent him another bashful smile, arms looping around his neck. Pressing deep, gentle kisses to his lips, you let out an annoyed huff as he attempted to pull away and stubbornly chased his lips with your own in a pathetic attempt to keep them attached to your own. He chuckled against your mouth, hands moving to grip your hips, his thumbs stroking soothing circles across your hipbone. You allowed him to pull away when he tried once more, looking at him in disapproval.
“You want my fingers first? Or my mouth?” You shook your head and he raised a questioning brow.
“I want you” You whispered. He shook his head, seemingly a little hesitantly, and your frown deepened.
“We need to get you ready for me first, sweet girl” You whined and he smirked, happy knowing you were practically desperate to have him inside of you already. He nudged you gently, silently scolding the disobedient noises coming from you.
“I don’t want to hurt you, amore. Which would you like? I promise both are equally as amazing-“
Alec smiled as you snorted, tickling your sides to hear you giggle some more and kissing across your neck and chest, down into the valley of your breast and across the edge of your bra. You sighed dramatically.
“I guess I’ll take your mouth.” He looked at you in faux offence.
“You guess? You are going to regret those words.” He quickly shuffled to lay between your thighs, tugging on the sides of your underwear and hooking his fingers beneath them to pull them off.
“Hips up”
You obliged, lifting your hips off the bed and allowing him full access to you. He disregarded your panties across the room, licking his lips and lifting his eyes to meet your lust filled gaze in a silent question. You nodded in response.
He stroked his thumb across your hip once more, winking at you before his head disappeared between your thighs. His mouth was on you in seconds, the drastic change in temperature making your back arch and your mouth fall open in a silent moan. His tongue glided across you, prying you open and taking you in greedily. You moaned once more, this time the sound echoing through the room embarrassingly loud whilst hands reached down to grip onto anything they could. His cold tongue skilfully slid through your wet folds, lips finding your clit and suckling on the bundle of nerves gently. The fingers of your right hand carded through his hair, tugging and scratching as you grinded yourself against his face causing him to let out the growl of desire that had been building in his throat. You moaned once again, much, much louder than the previous noises and your felt as your face heated up, flushing in embarrassment whilst your free hand moved to cover your mouth.
He pulled away immediately, gripping both of your wrists within his own hands and pinning them to your sides.
“No- Let me hear all of those pretty little noises you make for me.” You squirmed in pleasure, feeling your wetness begin to drip out of your core and down onto the sheets of the bed. He moved his mouth back to you, resuming his actions and gliding the wet muscle across your heat until you began to grind against him desperately.
You were so, so close, and right as you were about to let go he pulled away. You groaned at him and he smiled, kissing his way back up to your lips, letting go of your arms to cup your breasts in his hands.
The taste of yourself on his mouth made you all the more aroused, and you whimpered as your felt your release simmer away.
“Why did you stop? I was about to-“
“I recall you saying you wanted to come on my cock, did you not? Or perhaps you have changed your mind, maybe we should stop completely”
“No! No, Alec! Please!” You were not expecting the plead to fall from your lips as you tugged on his hand in desperation. You pressed yourself against him making him moan softly and drop his head to your shoulder as you continued to plead with him. “Please baby, please fuck me”
“You beg so beautifully, sweetface” His response was breathy despite his lack of need for air and you cupped his jaw in your hand to press desperate kisses across his face in another attempt to coax him into fucking you. “Always such a good girl for me.”
As he spoke, he subtly pulled himself free from the restraints of his trousers and underwear, pushing himself through your slit to coat his cock in your wetness. You groaned as his tip brushed against your bundle of nerves and your hips subconsciously lifted on their own, seeking to push him inside.
“I know, beautiful. Be patient.”
He pushed himself inside of you not a moment later, fully sheathing in one go before he paused and allowed you a moment of relief before he moved. You gasped in surprise as he hit your cervix, pressing your forehead against his own. Your breathing came out in soft pants, his hands lifting to brush your hair behind your ears, lips pressing to the tip of your nose as he gazed into your eyes with his own lust-darkened irises.
“My beautiful girl, you take me so well. Such a good little girl for me, aren’t you?”
He accentuated his words with a sharp thrust and you cried out in pleasure as the tip of his member immediately found your sweet spot, hitting against it with every gentle thrust he made into you.
Alec quietly groaned into your ear, and you let out one of your own in response. His thrusts never stopped for a minute, hips gyrating against yours and lips attaching to one of your breasts, sucking your nipple into his mouth. You felt your earlier release begin to build once again, and you let out a whimpering sob as you struggled to push yourself to finish. Alec must have sensed your body’s hesitation, sneakily snaking a hand down to rub gentle circles against your clit. His lips left your breast in favour of sucking marks onto your neck, sweet nothings whispered into your ear.
“Come for me, mia amore. Show me how pretty you look when you come on my cock.”
That was your final straw, immediately falling over the edge and grinding against him to ride out your high. He watched you for a moment before letting out a moan of his own, gripping your thigh and using it as leverage as he took one final sharp thrust into your wet cunt before you felt his cool release fill you. You fall back against the sheets, moving a hand to cover your eyes in exhaustion as you breathed heavily and attempted to catch your breath. He removed the hand, pressing gentle kisses across your face once he was able to compose himself.
“So good…” Kiss. “You did so good…” Kiss “My pretty baby…” Kiss.
You felt him pull out of you, leaving momentarily to grab a washcloth to clean you both up with. You hissed as he brushed the cloth across your core, and he sent you an apologetic look, reaching for your hand to interlock his fingers with your own. After one last swipe across your entrance he threw the washcloth into the hamper, pulling you into his arms with a kiss to the forehead.
“Sorry, love. All done now.” You smiled up at him happily, content with how you both chose to spend your evening. After a moment of silence he spoke up again.
“So… you still ‘guess’ you’ll take my tongue?” You laughed loudly, pressing closer to him and kissing his cold cheek.
“I am very sorry for offending you, my love. Your tongue is very skilled indeed.”

EPILOGUE
“You look so beautiful,” Jane said. “Alec will be speechless.
I laughed softly at her kind words, meeting her eyes in the mirror. Heidi was putting the finishing touches on my hair. She carefully threaded the sprigs of baby’s breath flowers through the two braids that were pulled back behind my head, almost like a crown. The rest of my hair fell down my back in gentle waves.
“You really are gorgeous,” Heidi agreed as she brushed a loose curl away from my cheek.
“Do you think I’m ready, then?” I asked.
They both nodded and I stood, smoothing my hands over the skirt of my dress anxiously.
I was wearing a cream-white satin dress with a cowl neckline. Thin straps went over my shoulders and crossed along my back. The dress was long enough that the bottom hem just barely brushed along the ground when I was standing in my cream-colored heels, and it had a thigh-high slit on the right side. The way the dress perfectly hugged my curves made me feel incredibly attractive and I knew that Alec was going to absolutely love it.
“Do you think you’re ready?” Jane asked. I turned towards her and nodded. We shared a smile and she handed me a bouquet of white calla lilies, asphodel, and orange blossoms.
“Well then, let’s not keep that mate of yours waiting,” Heidi teased.
She slipped out of the room ahead of us to ensure that everything else was ready. Alec and I had chosen to have our wedding ceremony in the courtyard of the castle. The entire guard, the kings, and their wives would be in attendance. Neither Alec or I had wanted a big wedding, but everyone in the castle was family, and that was more than enough for us. As soon as we told Heidi that we wanted to get married, she instantly jumped into planning the ceremony with her mate, Corin. Alec and I were happy to leave all of the planning to the two women, since all we really cared about was actually getting married.
Jane slipped her arm through mine and we walked through the halls of the castle.
“I am very happy that you and Alec found each other,” Jane said quietly. “You have brought out the very best in each other, and I’ve never seen my brother as happy as he has been with you. . . . You were truly made for each other.”
“Thank you,” I murmured. “And I hope you don’t mind that I’ve begun to think of you as a sister.”
Jane smiled at me. She teased, “You are literally going to become my sister in a few minutes.”
We laughed together as we finally reached the doors to the courtyard. Jane leaned close to kiss my cheek before she slipped out of the doors. I took a deep breath and waited for a moment before I entered the courtyard.
Everyone was standing, watching with warm smiles as I walked down the aisle, but my eyes were only focused on Alec.
My soulmate was wearing a perfectly tailored, light grey suit with a white dress shirt beneath. He didn’t wear any kind of tie at my request, since I thought he looked more attractive without one.
When my eyes finally flickered up to his face, I saw that he was staring at me with a soft smile on his face, his gaze exuding pure love and admiration. The way he looked at me — as if I was the only person to have ever existed — filled my chest with warmth.
I glided down the aisle in time with the quiet violin music. Alec held his hand out to me when I was close enough and I eagerly took it. Heidi quickly snatched my bouquet from my hands just before I took the final step to the altar. She returned to her seat, holding the flowers delicately in her lap. Alec took my free hand so that he was now holding both of my hands.
‘You are so beautiful,’ Alec murmured in my mind. ‘My gorgeous, sweet girl. . . . I love you so much.’
‘I love you, too, Alec. My wonderful mate.’
We grinned at each other, then glanced at Aro as he began to speak.
“My dearest ones, we have gathered today to witness our beloved Alec and wonderful Eve unify their lives for the rest of their existence. They have chose to join together in marriage, to have a celebration of their love and loyalty and commitment to each other. They have endured through the challenges and obstacles that were placed before them, but we all know that true love always wins in the end.”
Aro looked at my mate. “Alec, do you come here today to marry Eve, and to join your path in life with hers?”
“I do,” he answered, looking into my eyes. He squeezed my hands gently.
“Eve, do you come here today to marry Alec, and to join your path in life with his?”
“I do,” I said. Alec’s lips twitched up into a soft smile and I breathed out a quiet laugh.”
“Alec and Eve have chose to tie their lives together in a hand-fasting ceremony,” Aro announced. “If you would please raise your hands up, my dears.”
We turned so that we were standing beside each other. We raised our clasped hands up between us, extending them towards Aro. He produced a long, red silk ribbon from his suit pocket.
“Alec, Eve, will you be each other’s faithful partner for eternity and be each other’s constant friend and one true love?”
“We will,” we said together.
Aro wrapped the ribbon around our hands once. “And so the first binding is made. Do you promise to love each other without reservation, to always stand united against any challenges you may face?”
“We do.”
“And so the second binding is made. Will you stand together in time of joy and of sorrow, and share the burdens of each other?”
“We will.”
“And so the third binding is made. Will you honor each other, and seek to cherish and strengthen that honor?”
“We will.”
Aro wrapped the ribbon around our hands one last time and tied it in an elegant knot.
“And so the final binding is made. The knots of this binding are not formed by this ribbon, but instead by your vows. . . . Alec, Eve, I am pleased to announce that you are now husband and wife. One flesh, one heart, one soul. Now, and forevermore.”
Alec pulled me close, his free hand on my waist, and kissed me fiercely while everyone cheered and clapped for us. I laughed against his mouth and reached up with my free hand to caress his cheek. We pulled apart a few moments later to face our guests. We walked back down the aisle together, our hands still tied.
We slipped out of the courtyard to wait patiently as Heidi ordered a few other guards around, transforming the courtyard from a wedding ceremony into a reception venue.
Alec pressed me against the stone wall, his lips claiming mine passionately. I giggled, but I still wrapped my free arm around his neck and pulled him closer. His arm slipped around my waist to gently tug me against his body.
“My beautiful wife,” Alec whispered against my lips.
I giggled and replied, “My handsome husband.”
POSTFACE
I asked Persephone,
“How could you grow to love him?
He took you from flowers to a kingdom
where not a single living thing can grow.”
Persephone smiled,
“My darling, every flower on your earth withers.
What Hades gave me was a crown
made for the immortal flowers in my bones.”

Love of the cruel King
Tumblr media
A/N: My native language is not English, so I put each of my stories through an app so that it ends up in English.
Also, I've uploaded this story before, on another account but it's defective somehow. So I created a new one
Summary: When Y/N follows her older sister Bella to Volterra , she didn't expect to finde out that she is connected by fate to one of the three vampire kings
Caius Volturi x female!reader
Words: 4.5k
Main Post / Twilight Masterlist
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
" The best
place to get lost
is in the eyes
of someone
you've missed."
-faraway
"Now, just to be clear. You want to travel to Italy to save the guy who has been ignoring you for months just because a family member of his tried to eat you?"
Bella looked annoyed at her one year younger sister and tried to ignore her, but Y/N wouldn't let her.
" If he wants to kill himself please , let him do it. It seems to have become fashionable in the last few hours! But if you think I'm going to let you go alone with Dracula's sister, you're wrong dear sister!"
Bella walked past Y/N. " I'm not taking you with me."
Y/N grabbed Bella's upper arm. Both sisters looked into each other's eyes. " Bella you just jumped off a cliff for your ex boyfriend to notice you . That proves I'm the only one of the two of us who can still think straight! So either I get Jacob in here , who will happily help me lock you in your room until our father gets home or you take me with you!"
" You are too stubborn for your own good!" Grumbled Bella, breaking free of her sister's iron grip. " And you too naive for yours!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
" Don't look at me like that!" Bella stood next to Edward and noticed her sister's annoyed look. Ignoring her sentence, Y/N turned back around and stared at the closed elevator doors.
" The entire Cullen clan will be the death of my sister , me or both of us at the same time."
Jane , Demetri and Felix eyed the young girl. Slightly she shrank under the gaze of the vampires. Because even if she did not want to admit it , the red eyes of the three were not only beautiful , but also intimidating .
"I know that Bella and I are the only humans in a rather cramped room full of vampires, but could you stop looking at me like you're about to really eat me?" Puzzled, Felix and Demetri looked at each other. But then grinned down at the girl. The blond vampire put one of his hands on Y/N's shoulder. " You have quite a bit of courage..." Jane interrupted him. " As long as Aro , Caius or Marcus have not decided whether you should live or die , your survival is uncertain human!" The vampire turned her head boredly to Y/N and back again as the elevator doors opened. Confused, Y/N turned her head to Demetri. "Is she always in such a good mood or does my perfume just not suit her?" " Imagine Felix she becomes one of us , that could be really interesting!" The brown-haired vampire studied the young girl closely and began to smile. "Maybe."
Y/N who was about to ask another question fell silent as the small group stepped through two huge double doors into a throne room. Demetri and Felix meanwhile also became serious again and pushed Y/N a little more in front of them when they noticed her hesitation. Their eyes followed Jane , who stood by a dark-haired boy and seemed pleased with herself. Looking to her left , the young girl held her breath.
Three thrones with their respective guardians stood before her. The vampire in the center rose with a grin that reminded Y/N of the Joker , and approached the small group. If Y/N remembered correctly from Carlisle's stories, the black-haired vampire was Aro Volturi. The vampire sitting behind Aro on the left, wearing the look of a man tired of life, was Marcus Volturi. On Aro's right side sat a blond vampire, whom Y/N identified as Caius.
This one aroused a strange fascination in Y/N. No matter how hard she tried she could not take her eyes off him. Even though she knew she should rather listen to Aro, his words just seemed to pass her by. Meanwhile, Caius looked aggressively in the direction of Alice and Edward, paying no attention to other person.
Goosebumps covered Y/N's skin when the blond vampire noticed that he was being watched. First he looked at Bella with a look full of contempt. Y/N immediately wondered if he would look at her with so many bad emotions as well. Just as she was about to finally release her gaze, Caius turned his attention to the young girl.
Y/N's breathing, which had just been rapid and uncontrolled, returned to normal. The fear she had felt all this time left her body and was replaced by a warmth that Y/N didn't understand and yet if she had to be honest with herself, she didn't want to be. Because the answer to that worried her more than her situation at that moment.
" Brother." Marcus drew all the attention of the room to him with one blow. Aro looked at his brother, startled, but Marcus simply raised his hand. In less than a millisecond , Aro stood in front of him and grabbed his hand .
With a cry of joy, Aro stood in front of Y/N with the same speed. Not having expected this, she stumbled back several steps, startled. Felix and Demetri reacted at the same time and caught Y/N carefully. Confused , she looked at the vampires , wondering why they were so careful with her and not so rough as with the rest. " Brother! Be careful , she is only human after all." Caius voice sounded a bit short tempered and yet there was something in his gaze that Y/N could not describe. Aro on the other hand just nodded and gave the young girl his full attention. " May I?" With a gentle smile, he pointed at Y/N's still slightly trembling hand. She winced at the coldness that enveloped her hand as Aro closed his hands around hers. But she did not dare to pull them away.
Laughing, he let go of her hand and turned to Caius. "This could be interesting, brother!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a small fight in the middle of the throne room, where Y/N had been standing behind a vampire named Alec the entire time, they were allowed to go home. Caius had clearly rebelled against letting Y/N go home, but this interested Aro less. What bothered Y/N the most was that no one had even tried to explain to her what was going on and why Alice and Edward were looking at her as if she would drop dead at any moment. When she couldn't take it anymore on the way home and yelled at both vampires to tell her what the hell was going on, Alice confused her even more by saying, ˋSomething that changed your fate in this world'.
Three months had passed since then and Y/N doubted that anything would happen. She also tried to forget the whole thing, which proved to be more difficult than the young girl had thought. Because every time she closed her eyes she saw Caius in front of her.
That night, too, Y/N had trouble falling asleep, and when she finally did, she was awakened three hours later by a breeze and a huge shadow in front of her bed. Confused, Y/N blinked as she opened her eyes. Only to fly out of her bed with a sharp scream. She had looked directly into the red eyes of Felix Volturi, getting the shock of her life.
Smirking, Demetri circled the human's bed and held out one of his gloved hands to her. " Do you need help?" The blond-haired vampire raised an eyebrow in amusement. Wiping hair from her face , Y/N stood up without help and looked at both vampires annoyed . " No! What I need is a good reason why you stand in my room at night and watch me sleep!" "Actually, we didn't want to watch you sleep, we wanted to wake you up." Felix grinned at her, which Y/N returned with an even more annoyed expression. Demetri laughed. " The reason we are here is because Caius wants you to join him in Volterra." Y/N nodded mutely , scratched her forehead , bent down to pick up her quilt and lay back in bed . " Then I wish you both a safe journey back , because I'm going to lie back in this very bed and go back to sleep! You both know the way out." With that , she closed her eyes and buried her face back into her pillow . Felix sighed, "Aro was right! Things could get interesting with her!" The tall vampire bent down , pulled the blanket off Y/N's body and threw the young girl over his shoulder.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
" A human mate...." Caius grumbled this to himself as everyone waited for Demetri and Felix to arrive with Y/N. " For the last three months you have been trying to deny this brother. Give it up." Aro looked over at Caius in amusement. Marcus turned to Caius as well. " Fate cannot be stopped or changed. Everything has its right and, accordingly, a reason." " Then fate seems to hate me. For I, of all people, am linked to the sister of the Cullens' toy!" Aro pursed his lips for an answer, but he was interrupted by the opening of the door. Smiling, he turned to it and was about to start a greeting, when he fell silent, confused.
" You huge idiot! Put me the fuck down!" Everyone present had to get used to the image that presented itself to them. Y/N was hanging over Felix's shoulder, in her sleeping clothes, hitting his back while insulting him. Felix looked annoyed and Demetri seemed to stifle a laugh.
" Felix, put them down!" Caius grumbled this. Alec , standing next to Aro's throne , tilted his head slightly and eyed Y/N as she stood. " Did you get her out of bed?" Annoyed , Y/N looked at him . " No how did you come up with that? I had the idea of being carried in here in nothing but my pajamas over Bigfoot's shoulders!" Aro cried out laughing and clapped his hands. " You are such a special specimen of a human. I like that!" He turned to face Caius. " So if you ask me brother , fate has sent you the perfect mate."
Confused, Y/N looked around. " Mate?" " You and Caius my love are connected by the red bond of fate . I could see it the moment you looked into each other's eyes!" Marcus looked at her lovingly. Silently Y/N stood there trying to understand exactly what was happening. " That means exactly , just to make my brain understand everything for a moment..." "You and Caius souls complete each other. In other words; you will stay here in Volterra so you will be with him and he will logically be with you!" Aro smiled at her. " Ah" , the young girl turned to Demetri, " Just to be sure... I'm not asleep and this is really happening?" Grinning, the latter shook his head. " You're wide awake!" Slowly, she nodded and looked to Caius. " Do I have a choice?" " No!" " So what's going on right now is, by and large, a kidnapping?" " Yes" " Good to know." Amused, all the vampires watched their master and his mate. " How do you explain my sudden disappearance?" Aro answered the question without letting even a second pass. " On the way to your mother , you died in a car accident."
Silently, she looked around and noticed that no one seemed to be joking. Fear spread through Y/N, but also relief to finally be near Caius again. Being too confused by her own feelings, she simply nodded. As she did so, her surroundings began to spin and she slumped slightly. Y/N realized only now how much everything was taking her and how much her body longed for sleep, which she had not gotten in the last weeks. Caius, who had sensed the change in his mate's behavior, immediately stood in front of her and caught his mate's increasingly flaccid body. Picking her up in bridal style, he looked down at her with concern.
" It is fascinating how in the human mind the separation of two mates shows itself..." Aro had stood next to Caius and was also looking down at Y/N now sleeping body. " Will she be okay?" Aro placed a hand on her forehead and closed his eyes for a moment. " She just needs sleep and your presence , just as you need hers." Nodding , he left the throne room to go to his quarters , where they had cleared a new room for Y/N to sleep in .
Once there, he placed her in a large and soft bed. For a minute he watched his mate sleep. He shook his head and wanted to turn away, but Y/N's hand stopped him. Again he looked down at her. " Is something going to happen to me here or am I going to be turned against my will?" Sleepily , yet worried and with a touch of fear , she looked up at Caius . He shook his head and sat on the edge of the bed. Her hand he released from his wrist, grasped it and placed it on his non-beating heart. Y/N sat up and moved closer to Caius.
" The connection that binds us is very rare , some vampires never find it in their infinite lives and the ones that do... you can't feel it as a human like I can. When you are a vampire and you find that one person that is meant for you , every second without them is agony." He interrupted himself and put his forehead to Y/N's. The latter didn't flinch, even seemed to relax more. "If the wrong people found out that you were that person for me, Y/N, they would use you against me and kill you. I can't lose you, not after I just found you! So don't be afraid that anything will happen to you here. I will always be there to protect you!" Caius detached his forehead from hers and looked her in the eyes. "Turning into a vampire will be your free decision. I will not make it for you , even though I would love for you to become one of us , so I can have you by my side for eternity."
He lifted her hand , which still rested on his chest , and pressed a kiss on the back of his hand . Before he could get up , Y/N held his hand tighter . "Stay with me... please" Caius hesitated briefly. But he meant to make room for her so that he could lie down with her. Cautiously and with still some restraint Y/N snuggled up to him and fell asleep for the first time in months without waking up every now and then.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lost in thought, Y/N let her fingers run over the fabric of the blue Summer dress that Caius had given her only that morning. "Are you all right my dear? You've been lost in your thoughts all afternoon." Athenodora looked at Y/N out of worried eyes. Detaching herself from her thoughts , Y/N studied the older woman before her closely.
Several weeks had now passed since Y/N's arrival. Everyone seemed to really like her, even though she was still human. Even the twins couldn't help but be nice to Y/N, which seemed to shock many. Aro was worried that the twins would be nice. But that thought was quickly misplaced when the Cullens wanted to talk to Aro and the rest of the kings to bring Y/N home and the twins had to be stopped from traveling to Forks and wiping out the Cullens for good. Caius and she spent every spare second he could spare together. Sometimes she just watched him paint his canvases and sometimes they read together in front of his fireplace. Even though Y/N knew that Caius would never admit it, she knew that sometimes at night he would lie down with her and pull her into his arms. After a while, Y/N had to admit to herself that she was starting to feel something for the grumpy vampire king. Which would not be a problem if it were not for his wife Athenodora, whom Y/N met on the second day in Volterra. She treats the young girl like a good , almost like a best friend. While Y/N felt more and more guilty for her feelings towards Caius.
" It's all good. I'm just tired." Athenodora raised one of her eyebrows. "You should know by now that I can hear your heartbeat. So don't even try to lie to me my dear!" Y/N looked at Athenodora and rose from her place at the window of the tower with a sigh. " Aren't you mad at me about Caius?" A silence spread between the two friends for a moment , which was interrupted by the happy laughter of the vampiress. " So I am right in my assumption that you have fallen in love with Caius Y/N?" Ashamed , the young girl nodded , unable to lie to Athenodora . " And also am I right that you feel guilty because I am Caius' wife?" Again the young girl nodded, with her head lowered. Smiling softly, Athenodora stood up and glided lightly towards Y/N to take her in her arms. Pressing the young girl to her chest, she whispered in a soothing voice, "The love that Caius and I once felt for each other has been extinguished for an eternity. We still cherish each other as friends who shared a deeper past. Now he has you and even though Caius would never express it with facial expressions or words, you make him happy. The whole castle seems to be a bit livelier again since you've been around and me, I'm glad to have gained a good friend!" Y/N wrapped her arms tighter around Athenodora's torso.
" Will you promise me something Y/N?" " Anything you want." " That someday you will be ready to become one of us. Because even if you don't see it yet, you're the piece of the puzzle that we've all been missing here." Athenodora noticed the tentative nod at her chest. " I have a confession to make." The vampire broke away from Y/N and looked at her questioningly. " I think about it every single day." Eyes shining with joy, Athenodora hugged Y/N to her again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As evening had fallen, Y/N set off for her chambers with Demetri at her side. "Master Caius is in his studio. If you are interested." Smiling, Y/N thanked Demetri , who with an equally warm smile led her to her new destination.
Felix and Santiago stood in front of the high doors of Caius' studio and opened them as soon as they saw Y/N. Caius, who was sitting on a chair by one of the windows, with his painting in front of him, only looked up for a moment to smile at the young girl. But he turned back to his work. He was used to Y/N joining him with a book and reading in front of the fireplace on the sofa. But the young girl had other plans today.
Carefully she let her gaze wander over Caius. He was wearing only a white shirt and simple trousers. The only light that illuminated him was that of the moon, the fireplace was too far away for that and probably had been turned on just for her. Slowly she walked up to him and stood behind him. Caius was about to ask her if all was well, when she put her arms around his neck from behind and buried her face in them.
" I missed you."
Caius paused in what he was doing, putting away the brush and paint palette, he turned his torso a bit, wrapped his arms around Y/N's waist and pulled her onto his lap. With a surprised expulsion of air, she landed in Caius' lap. Examining her, he looked into her eyes. Carefully, she put her arms around his neck again. " Did something happen?" Smiling, she shook her head. "Why do you think something happened?" The vampire tilted his head. " Because this morning , you were still keeping your distance and now you are sitting in my lap." " I had a conversation with Athenodora." " About?" " My feelings for you and the consideration of letting myself be transformed."
Caius sat up a little straighter and strengthened his grip on Y/N's waist so that he didn't hurt her. Y/N noticed her mate's sudden tension and let her hands move from his neck to his cheeks so he would look at her again. " Before you assume the worst why don't you ask me first, Caius." Annoyed , he exhaled . " And what conclusion have you come to?" Amused, Y/N looked at Caius. Instead of answering him directly, she leaned forward and breathed a kiss on his mouth. Surprised, he looked at her. " My realization is that even though you are often in a bad mood , I couldn't imagine eternity with a better mate." " Y/N are you sure..." She interrupted him with another kiss. But when she tried to break away from him this time , Caius put his hand to the back of her head and deepened the kiss. Y/N's hands dropped down from his cheeks to his shoulders. Detaching from Caius , since Y/N still needed air , she bit her lower lip in embarrassment . Grinning , he placed his fingers on Y/N lower lip to free it from her teeth. " Caius..." Y/N's voice trembled. " What do you want Y/N. Tell me and it's yours." Her grip on his top tightened. " I want you and eternity." Looking deep into her eyes his hands moved back to her waist , where he lifted her up and stood with her. His lips settled on hers once more. Y/N hands wrapped around his neck and her legs around his waist. Carefully, Caius laid her on the couch in front of the fireplace and leaned over her. His lips parted from those of his mate.
"If I turn you now, you'll never get rid of me." Laughing, she pulled him close to kiss him again. "I love you Caius Volturi!" With shining eyes he looked at her. " I love you too..." Caius lips carefully wandered over his lover's stoner ,moving to her neck and placing a kiss on a sensitive spot . Y/N's eyes closed , her hands buried in the fabric of Caius shirt. With one last look at Y/N, Caius buried his fangs in her neck.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Caius, are you all right?" Athenodora had left her tower, having noticed for three days that her husband was standing outside in the middle of a field, looking up at the stars. The vampire did not turn away from the starry sky when he spoke. " Have I made a mistake?" Athenodora looked at him in confusion. " Turning Y/N?" Slowly he nodded. " Caius she will wake up , don't worry . It's been a while , but surely you haven't forgotten how long our transformations were ." Sadly he looked at Athenodora. "What if she remembers that I am not the one she wants at her side? What if she regrets the transformation and demands that I kill her? What if..." " Caius!" Athenodora put a hand on his shoulder. " I spoke to her that day. The girl loves you and no matter what the future will bring you , you will face it together!" " Thank you." "Not for this, Caius. I'll leave you with your thoughts." Again he looked up at the sky. The flowers around him gave him peace, knowing how much Y/N loved them.
A movement behind him made him smile. "I thought you wanted to go inside Athenodora?" Two arms wrapped around his waist from behind and he felt a second body nestle against him. " I am not Dora." Closing his eyes, Caius placed his hands on his lover's. " How long have you been awake?" "An hour. I should take something to eat before I could get to you." Caius nodded silently , turned around , put his hands on Y/N's face and pulled her to him for a kiss. Y/N returned his kiss without thinking twice about it. They both disengaged after a while and rested their foreheads against each other's.
" Dance with me." Caius looked at her seriously and Y/N laughed. " Here , without music?" He nodded. " Here , without music." Grinning, she agreed and so they both began to move to a tune that only the two of them could hear.
"I'm glad he found her." Aro looked down into the garden with a satisfied smile. "And so even the grimmest soul finds its right half."

Tumblr media
(This scene is perfect, that eye movement was everything, I could watch this GIF for hours if I could. But like sir who let you look that good?)
I was sitting in the library with Felix and Demetri just talking about our latest mission that the three of us had recently.
“You know the satisfaction I had when I sunk my teeth into that human, she was such a pain in the ass, and it made it better that her vampire mate was watching, but….. I got to say Felix the amount of times I have seen you rip heads off, it's always more satisfying than the last one”
Felix smirks “Thanks y/n, you know it never gets old either and you are right that human girl was annoying, glad she got what she deserve”
Demetri spoke up “I never understood how a human and a vampire can be mates, it's just how can that be you know, like I feel if they ever had intimacy or something that poor human would be dead in a minute”.
We burst out laughing at his comment, “Dem you never fail to make me laugh”
He shrug his shoulders “What can I say it's a talent”
I roll my eyes at his comment and Felix says “Where’s your mate and Jane, I thought you were going to spend the day with him anyway or something”
I said casually with a hint of sadness“I was suppose to be with him today, but he canceled last minute, he said he had to do something important”
Both guys looked at me and Demetri was the first to talk
“More important than you? y/n that's been like the 10th time he has canceled on you this past month, how in the world are you not pissed at him, when was the last time you two spent quality time together?”
I thought about it for a minute trying to remember but then I realized it's been a very long time, maybe a half a decade already. We haven't even had sex in that time either. I looked at the boys
“Um…maybe a couple of years?”
Their eyes widened at that “A couple of years?” they responded in unison.
I nod hesitantly “I didn't even realize it's been that long, son of a bitch, has he been avoiding me or something?”
Felix shook his head in disapproval “You know that's not fair for you y/n, have you even brought that up to him”
I shook my head “I mean I just….You know your right Felix, this cant be going on like this, maybe I should I give him a piece of my own medicine”
Demetri eyes widen like a child who was given a treat“Oooo I like the sound of that”
I smile slightly but then I sense Alec entering the library which causes me to internally panic. I ignored him sitting next to me and instead I went to the bookshelves and looked for a book to read. In the corner of my eye I see that Alec looks at me with a bit of a confused look but then an idea pops up. My power is being able to move things with my mind but I could also telepathically talk to others. I use my power and send a message to Felix to improvise with the upcoming plan I'm about to do.
“Felix? Can you help me get that book that's up there?”
I look at the mountain of a vampire who is instantly by my side. “Of course cara, which one do you want?”
I could see that Alec’s eyes have narrowed at the sudden interaction “That one called Philosophy of Athens”
Felix nods and reaches over me to grab the book and I just look up into his face when he is reaching up, he looks down to me with a devilish smirk and I just wink in return. I knew Alec will be fuming with anger but he deserves payback. Felix hands me the book and he slightly brushes his lips on my jawline which catches me off guard for a minute but I fake an innocent look at him while he just winks and walks back to his previous spot. I stand there for a minute and I see that Alec has disappeared. I look around the library and Demetri speaks up
“He left after Felix gave you the kiss, you should of seen his face, if looks could kill, Felix would of been six feet under”
I roll my eyes and ask “Should I go after him or…?”
Demetri shakes his head “Y/n you got a reaction out of him, you need to keep going so he is the one that comes up to you, he is the one that has been pushing you aside, now it's your turn”
I nod “Your right Dem, this is the start of a new era”. They both smiled mischievously.
1 week later..
It's been a week since the library incident and Alec still has not come up to me, I know the game I am playing is dangerous. I mean come on he's one of the infamous twins who are the most intimidating and ruthless and yet here I am ignoring and pushing him away. It has been so hard to be this way with him, I love him so much that just being like this is torture, I think I would rather have Jane use her power on me then have to be like this with Alec and that is saying something.
On Alec’s part he still is acting the same, he has not even dared to look me in the eye or even been in the same room as me for long. I also noticed that recently I have been aching for Alec more than usual, I literally want him to be with me again, at this point I would take anything from him even if he just looks at me.
I miss his piercing burgundy eyes that always leave me in a trance or how his jawline tightens when I would brush against him slightly. Even to how he stands so elegantly when we are at our guard meetings with the Kings. Or how his smirk can literally make me feel weak in the knees but I would never give him the satisfaction in telling him the effect his smirk gives me because I know he would tease me for years to come. I miss how we cuddle either in our shared chamber or under the willow tree I am currently laying down, it was our spot that we would spend hours at.
I was so lost in thought I didn't even notice someone was calling my name until someone slightly kicked my foot and I finally sat up and snapped my gaze to the person. It was Jane and she had that emotionless look as usual, she was the one to speak first
“Why are you here alone, I thought you were going to train the newborns with Felix and Demetri?”
I was going to do that today but the guys knew I was not feeling it and noticed I am not in a right mindset so they gave me the day off
“They gave me the day off”
She nods slightly “Still does not answer my question”
I look down defeated “He doesn't want me anymore, he won't even look at me anymore or even leave those little love notes in my favorite books”
There was a silence and I thought she left but she talked again “You think my brother does not want you anymore?”
I nodded and if I could cry I would at that moment “He doesn't even come into our private chambers as often”
There was that tense silence again “Have you spoken to him about this?”
I shook my head “How can I when I don't even know where he is half of the time and he wont even come to me anymore, he keeps canceling our date nights also”
At that point I wanted to shake Jane to get her to tell me anything about Alec, I was that desperate but I used my telekinesis to hold me down so I didn't actually jump her.
She spoke up again “I don't know what is up with my brother, he won't say but I can tell there is something wrong, I would assume you would have an idea because when we part ways i thought he would always go to you”
When she said that my gaze snapped up to her again in shock “So not even you know what is up with him then?”
She shook her head and I said “Jane, if I asked you to do something for me would you do it?”
“Of course, you are my sister-in-law after all, your the second person I genuinely like, first being my brother”
I nod “Can you use your power on me?”
I saw her eyes widen at that and she instantly shook her head “No I will never do that to you, why would you ask such a request from me?”
I let an unnecessary sigh out “I don't feel anything Jane, Alec has been distant for a couple of years already, I can feel that sudden small rip in our bond, it hurts Jane, it really does, and at this point I don't think I can even go on in life without him, even when I spend time with Felix and Demetri, I just fake it so they don't question me to much”
She got down on her knees and what she did next would shock others but not to me, she hugged me tightly. I just let her hug me while I just sat there dully, she soon pulled away and said “Y/n I can't bare to see you like this, I haven't even realized that you and Alec have been like this for so long, I don't want to see the two most important people in my life like this anymore”
I don't respond but nod along mindlessly
“Wait here, I will be back”
She left before I can look at her, I decided to lay down again and closed my eyes as I felt my eyes burn with venom, the thing that sucked of being a vampire is not being able to let real tears out, I just feel this burning sensation in my eyes but I haven't felt like this in centuries already. Alec has always made me feel loved and happy, the way that man with only just a touch has me melting for him or when he did those rare smiles I love so much. If I had a heart it would be beating out of my chest every time we are together.
When me and Alec were told we were mates by Marcus, we absolutely loathe each other, we could barely be in the same room without one of us getting annoyed by the other. It took us a good year until we started to tolerate each other. Soon after that year I started to feel the bond with him, I couldn't stand to be away from him for long and I knew he felt the same way because the minute we were apart he or I would go search for the other.
One day he decided to take me on a walk in the gardens, and as cliche as this might sound he kissed me under the moonlight. The moonlight was literally on us when we were kissing, at that moment me and him accepted each other completely as mates. We were inseparable, we started to share a room together and the Kings were more accepting of me and Alec going on missions together without the fear we might rip each other's throats out.
It felt like we were in wonderland or in cloud 9, when he moved I moved, or when I moved he followed along. We also had a very long honeymoon phase where we couldn't keep our hands to ourselves, every time when we were hanging with the other guards, me and Alec would sneak away and have our intimacy or when we were in the hallways he would give me kisses out of nowhere against the wall, we been caught various times but that didn't stop us from doing it again.
We have been mated for centuries, and not a day goes by that I don't fall in love with him all over again or feel tired of him. He really is my other half but with the lack of Alec in my life it has taken a toll on me, it almost feels like HE is sick and tired of me.
Just that thought could break my non-existent heart, I would end up like Marcus in a way. If Alec were to leave me it's way worse than him being dead. I would still have to see him and be in his presence but not be able to actually be with him.
My mind must have wondered again because I didn't realize a certain someone was sitting next to me. I opened my eyes when I realized it was Alec from the pull of the bond. From that I sat up and he looked right at me, watching me carefully and intensely. He still has that stone face that makes him look so gorgeous, he really is the reincarnation of some Greek god. We stayed quiet watching each other for a while when he finally spoke, hearing his voice again would have made me shiver if I could.
“So you and Felix, huh?”
Even though it feels amazing to hear him talking to me, that question threw me off and made me change moods in an instant.
“Seriously? After months and months of not having full conversations or paying attention to me, you have the audacity of asking a question like that?”
He stayed quiet and I could tell his mind was blank because I couldn't hear his thoughts.
“Why would I ever get with Felix when I have a mate that I love deeply? words cannot describe the love I have for you”
That for sure caught him off guard because he blinked a bit from shock and he spoke up
“Just wanted to hear you say that and get a reaction out of you” and then he winks.
That bastard winked and it was so smooth that I didn't even give what he said a second thought, he left me flabbergasted.
“You really are bipolar, you never fail to surprise me after centuries of being together”
He smiles slightly at my comment
“And you don’t fail to amuse me with your words”
“Don't think with your wink and smile will make me forgive you that easily”
“Forgive me? For what?”
The way he genuinely looked surprises at my accusation really did set my mood off
“Are you really asking me that? Have you not heard what I said earlier or noticed the lack of us?”
I saw his facial expression shift to tense “So I was ignoring you then?”
“Obviously, do you remember the last time we went on a date?”
He stayed silent and I knew he was trying to remember and at that moment I can also tell everything that what has been happening these past few years was hitting him.
“Too long ago…”
I nodded “And even then when we made plans you would cancel or say you forgot or are to busy”
He looked down in what I could assume was shame.
“Even if we didn't go on dates, you have been avoiding me like the plague, you don't even look at me as much or even hug me, you can't even bare to be in the same room as me for long, it's as if we are back to when we hated each other before accepting each other as mates all over again but worse”
His mind was still blank
“I have been miserable without you, I even asked Jane earlier to use her power on me because I don't even feel anything anymore”
He looked at me with shock “You really asked her to do that? But…”
“I did, but she refused of course”
He nodded “Cara mia, I been so stupid, I never meant to hurt you in anyway”
I looked at him “If you really never meant to hurt me what made you act like this toward me for so long?”
He took an unnecessary breath “I don't know, I felt like these past years I was feeling…..off, I felt like being away from everyone but I didn't even realize its been going on for a while until Jane came up to me and smack me and ordered me to come to you”
“You could of just came up to me and talked or let me into your mind if you can't form words, I have always been there for you Alec”
He looked at me with remorse and in a soft voice he confessed
“I didn't want to be a burden to you or bring you down with me”
I reached reach for his hand
"Alec you will never be a burden to me, we go together in our darkest or lightest days as we always did in the past, there's no I in us”
He squeezed my hand “I never wanted to make you feel unwanted, I just wanted to figure this out alone but I realize I can't without you”
I nodded, “How could you let so much time go by like that without trying to get help from me or saying anything?”
He shrug his shoulders “We been immortals for so long that time kind of blurs for us in a way but that still does not make up for what I done to you, you are my whole reason for being here, my center and life, mi amore ti amo, I will never to this to you again, and if I do then I give you permission to slap me or something because then I would of broken my promise to you”
“Oh Alec come here” I reached for him and he instantly wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his laps to deepen the hug.
Just being in his arms again was the best feeling. I fell in love with him all over again at that moment, he is my reason for being and I would not want it any other way.
A/N: This one was longer than the Felix one (it does not mean I love Felix less 😬) but Its cute. Anyways, Im debating to either do Jasper or Caius next. I have a Jasper one in the drafts but its not that good, I will see who's next.

How they feel when they find out you're their Mate Headcanon
Tumblr media
Jane
She never, ever wanted a mate (and honestly, never thought she'd find hers at all, further adding onto the dislike of finding hers), all she needed was her brother (plus Demetri and Felix [which she won't admit out loud, ever]) and then you came along and changed her life, for better or worse. She still hasn't decided but y'all are working on it a little bit every day and that's all her brother could ask her (on your behalf)
Alec
Not once did he think he'd ever find his mate (or admit it to his sister that he actually wanted one [he'd never hear the end of it, something about betrayal and abandonment] he doesn't want to hear it period) and then he found you while he was out on a mission and things definitely changed for him plus the rest of the guard and got his sister to like you
Felix
He was not expecting to meet someone like you, not at all. I mean, the quiet little thing that you were, dude lost it when he put two and two together. Man, was he floored, and everyone knew it before he actually had the guts to admit it (especially when Marcus flat out mentioned your connection growing stronger during a meeting or when he did tell the big guy that you two are mates)
Demetri
He was even less ready than the others. He was the last person to expect to meet his mate, especially someone who could match him, in more ways than one. For example, the first time you two met, he naturally tried to charm you only for him to be the one who was enamored, something that did not shock the other (it also didn't help when Felix teased him about it, damn them living for eternity)

Missing You
Alec Volturi X Fem!Reader
Summary: You begin to miss your vampire soulmate when he leaves you in the italian castle on an important mission.
Warnings: suggestive material
Authors Note: My first work!!! I've been deliberating this for the longest time. I am open to criticism (be nice please lol) and any comments! Hope you enjoy 💞
》》》》
The bed you usually shared with him was cold and empty while he was gone. You opted to sleep on the couch included in your lush chambers in his prolonged absence. His being away was prolonged exactly by five days as his mission was originally supposed to be two days, but was extended to a full week immediately after his departure. Alec's phone calls were hurried as he was always pulled away by the rigorous chase of a troubled rogue vampire. The hasty words shared between the two of you were never enough for either side.
You layed upon your velvet sofa, gazing at the gold bracelet gifted to you by Alec. It had a darling engravement on the plaque: "forever". Your phone rang and you hurried to jump up to grasp and answer your phone.
"Hello", you tried to not sound excited or anxious, although you currently were both.
"My Tesoro, are you well? I expect to be home shortly." He sounded slightly strained, although you chose not to comment on it.
"I'm fine." You come off more snippy than intended, but move past it to not worry him. "You caught him? Finally?"
His reply came immediately: "Yes-- well, Jane caught him."
You giggle, a sound that always made Alec's dead heart flutter. "I bet she did." You pause. "So...soon as in tonight or..." you let your impatience do the talking, much to Alec's amusement.
"Yes as in tonight, princess." You heard the smirk in his voice. "Can you handle another few hours, dear?"
"Don't tease me." You order sternly. "Run here as fast as you can because 'another few hours' is all that I can handle anymore." Your snarky response was followed by Alec's laugh before you hung up to get ready for his return.
You take your time in showering and applying light brushes of makeup while listening to music. When you were in your shared walk-in closet surveying your options of dresses, you felt cold hands on your waist.
"Don't bother putting anything else on when your robe is about to come off..."
You quickly turn around to throw your arms around Alec's neck. "Alec! I missed you!" You hugged him tighter as he leaned closer to your neck to leave kisses.
"And I you." His lips moved up to your cheek, then to your lips. The kiss was filled with longing. Your tongues soothed eachothers as your hands moved to his shoulders to anchor yourself so he could pick you up.
He walked the two of you over to your perfectly made bed and sat you down. Your hands slid down Alec's chest where he held them there between his own hands. "It's been too long..." you state in a sultry manner, laying back on the comforter.
"I can't help but to agree with you, my lady." Alec's response was accompanied by his hands running down your thighs, and back up again to toy with the hem of your robe. "Shall I act on my earlier words?" Alec winked at you while he waited for you to give your consent, a must in your relationship.
"You shall," you giggled out in excitement. Your robe now dangled off of your shoulders, and Alec's hands are tracing the lace of your panties. Slight rubs through the fabric had you letting out panting breaths. "Alec," you whimpered.
His movements suddenly stopped. He gained a statue like appearance with his unmoving eyes and pristine skin. You tugged on his sleeve to gain his attention. "Don't tell me."
His lips were now pursed in an apology. "You know I don't mean for this to happen--." Bangs on the doors sound and you hear a teasing voice directing Alec to the throne room: Demetri.
"I'm afraid you and your hands are needed elsewhere, Alec." You scoff at Demetri's inappropriate words, and move off of the bed to put your robe back on.
"Be quick. Dont make me take matters into my own hands." You warn Alec.
This makes Alec determined to get back to you in a timely manner; he speeds out the door, almost trampling over Demetri.
A busy vampire you were mated to.

Tumblr media
Your heart pounded rapidly as your eyes shot open. A feeling of pressure remained in your ankles and feet, although you knew that that sensation couldn’t be real. Still, the pictures that had unfolded in front of your eyes a few seconds ago – sometimes idyllic but always foreboding, sometimes gruesome and inescapable – had carried over from the dream world into the actual world, leaving you with not only tingling feet but also with sweat grasping your body. Your forehead was clammy, and your pajama shirt clung to your skin. Usually, you sleep with a lot of clothes and a thick blanket. Otherwise, you get cold. But now was one of those rare times when all of it was too warm for comfort.
You dared not to move. Usually, you do not mind nightmares. When you woke up, you laughed about them and giggled when you closed your eyes again, soaking up the rest of the night’s hours for more sleep. But this one… It had been so vivid, so dynamic, and disturbing that it invoked the need to be held by someone. You were not a person who liked to be held. You dealt with your stuff on your own. But not now.
You called out his name faintly. Although you despised the emotions and memories that followed you like the shadows of a ghost. He had taken your dreams, after all, by bringing you to this cursed castle. You only dared to move your head to the side a little, limbs remaining under the blanket. A part of you was afraid that the woman from your dream would suddenly appear out of nowhere. Maybe hanging from the ceiling or clinging to one of the pillars of that stupid vampire’s four-poster bed. You were so grateful when you only found him. He was already standing next to the bed, keeping his distance. Either he had heard your heartbeat accelerating while you dreamed and had come immediately to see whether you were alright, or he had appeared like a flash of lightning – just without the light but instead like a looming shadow, tracing your every movement – when you had called his name.
You couldn’t tell. Just like his sleepless immortality failed to grasp the concept of a dream, your human senses were fallible when it came to this marvelous being. He had gone too long without dreams. For him, only reality had remained. Sober and gloomy. Until you came… But you fought him with every ounce of blood in your body. The very source that had made him addicted to you in the first place. Until the addiction transformed from craving your blood into the encompassing sensation of unconditional love. But that transformation had only happened for him. You needed more time. You were not ready to love nor to be his.
“Alec.”
“Y/N.” He hovered at the edge of his bed.
His bed. His room. His everything. But your boundaries. And he respected those. In fact, in the last few months, his room had become your safe place. Your things were scattered everywhere, but Alec did not mind. He gave you as much alone time and space as you needed, realizing that this was the least he could do after tearing you from your life. Alec was now often found in Jane’s room, much to the latter’s dismay. She was also very fond of her time alone, but the twins could be in the same room and not talk for hours or even days.
You found yourself mulling again and again over the fact that Alec and Jane had never once called you out for needing so much alone time. Especially Alec was very understanding. He seemed to understand when you wore noise-canceling headphones, lying on the ground and staring out the window. A lot of people have called you absurd and abnormal for your behavior. So often that you were just waiting for someone to utter those words again. The past had made you believe that you were not deserving of kindness nor of being understood. So whenever someone said or did something nice to and for you, you questioned it endlessly, trying to decipher an ulterior motive that was not there.
That made it so hard to trust Alec. To love him like he did you. Unconditionally, spiritually, and infinitely.
“Did you have a nightmare?” Alec asked, a tremble going through his hand. But he didn’t act on it. He didn’t reach out to touch you.
Despondent, you nodded. “Can… you…” The words died on your tongue. It was so hard to say them out loud.
But Alec understood. “Of course, I can hold you. If you want?”
You nodded again. Slowly and cautiously, he got on the bed, the mattress sinking down. The presence of his weight was already comforting. But you needed more. He waited patiently, letting you decide how close you would be. You had a clear idea in your head. You placed a small pillow on his chest, and he held it in place. Then, you draped your blanket around your shoulders and back, climbing between his legs, rolling on your side as his arms engulfed you. You rested your head on the soft pillow. One of Alec's hands cradled your head. The other lay on your shoulder. Occasionally, it wandered down, drawing circles on your arm.
Now Alec was everywhere. You were caged by him. Lost in him.
“What did you dream about?” he asked softly, pulling you closer to him. His legs drew together, his knees almost touching. Alec made you feel one hundred percent safe. But the dream…
You could not ignore this one. Your dreams always had some kind of prescient quality. Not every dream, but some were hints pointing toward the future. There was some message in this dream, too. Impending doom and danger that might be prevented. Sometimes, you wondered whether those dreams would manifest themselves as a gift when you were going to be turned into a vampire. A week ago, the Kings had sent someone who could see whether a human would have a gift once they were transformed. That man could also see what kind of gift it would be. However, in your case, he could only see that you would have a gift. Nothing concrete formed in his mind. That was no surprise. Not even Aro’s gift worked properly on you. When he touched your skin, he could only see a few random pictures that originated from your mind, and although they were powerful, they were not especially telling about you as a person.
Some pictures showed moments of your life. Most depicted… fantasies. Monsters. Dark colors. Light colors. Mountains not found on this planet. Stars. Vast oceans. You had always refrained from commenting on Aro when he wondered about your peculiar mind. You always had a very 'alive' imagination that seemed to be its own independent entity. It just so happened to have chosen your body as its vessel. There was no taming it. Only accepting and living with it.
Initially, you did not like the idea of becoming immortal. But the Volturi Kings had told you the rules. A human could not live with the knowledge of the supernatural world. Which meant death.
You had been fine with that. Anything but being stuck in a prison with powerful beings who hunted your kind. But Alec would not allow that. You had heated arguments, but eventually, he prevailed. Talking you through the advantages of being a vampire over and over again. Some discussions were pretty factual and rational on both sides. What convinced you eventually was not beauty or eternity. But you really wanted to have one of those high-functioning vampire brains. Imagine… The possibilities. The languages you could learn! You had already picked out a few that you had always wanted to study but did not have the time for. But if you put immortality into the equation… There was more than enough time.
When you had told Alec that you were okay with becoming a vampire, he had breathed a sigh of relief. Although he didn’t need to. Naturally, he had inquired why you had changed your mind. The vampire smiled smugly when you told him, the corners of his mouth twisting with amusement.
“You are a clever one, Y/N.” Alec chuckled. “There is no power as great as knowledge. Besides, you do not need more beauty. You are perfect as you are.”
“Whoa… Tone the flirting down a little.” You rolled your eyes, sitting next to him on the sofa in the library where he was reading a book.
“There is a difference between flirting and speaking the truth.” He kept his gaze on his book.
“Stop it, charmer.” Your cheeks were glowing slightly.
Alec heard the rush of blood in your cheeks and smiled, satisfied. “Never. So, what languages?”
“Definitely French and Japanese.”
“I can help you with French. Japanese… I know someone who might be able to teach you. You will only get the best teachers and books, of course.”
“Splendid.” For the first time, Alec saw you smiling genuinely and brightly. So languages. You loved languages. He remembered that and your smile. Languages and telling stories. Those were your purposes. He knew there was nothing you were more passionate about. Just thinking and talking about it made your eyes glow, clouding him deeper and deeper in your enchanting presence.
That passionate expression was a stark contrast to the dullness that had settled on your face now. It seemed like you had not heard him asking what you had dreamt about.
Or maybe you had, but you were so lost in your mind now you had forgotten he had asked a question.
“Y/N,” he called out softly, brushing your temple. You jumped, startled. Ahh… you had indeed wandered into the most remote corners of your enigmatic brain. It often happened. “What did you dream about?”
“Do you perhaps know a woman with black hair and yellow eyes? Yellow cat-like eyes?”
Alec frowned. “What do…” But the words died in his throat. He did know a woman with black hair and cat-like eyes. Her eyes were not exactly yellow. They were an intermediate form between brown and yellow. “Tell me more,” he said instead.
“So you do know someone like that.”
“Yes. Her coven drinks animal blood. What happened in your dream?”
“Well.” You paused. “Buckle up, Sir, as we dive deep into the human subconscious. This will be a ride unlike any you have ever seen before. Hooray..."
"So," you began, "at the beginning of my dream, we both were swimming in the sea near a small harbor. We were both wearing clothes. And were still dry. But dreams don’t ever make sense. So, I wouldn’t bother about that detail too much. Anyway, that woman suddenly appeared next to us. Her skin was grey and looked unhealthy. She stared at us, but we didn’t mind her. So we left the water, walking on a lane that connected a park to its city.
"The woman followed us. We turned to the city, and she went toward the park. Strangely enough, I talked to her, and we smiled at each other. Somehow, she looked normal then. Lovely, even. Beautiful skin and bronze hair. Warm eyes. We parted ways with her, following the sandy road to the city. Suddenly, while we walked, I felt pressure on my feet. I looked down, staring at them. They were covered in blood. Something was sticking out of them. Something that did not belong there. Startled, we turned to our side. The woman was back: grey skin, yellow eyes, long black, sleek hair. Smiling sadistically again. She tricked us, making us believe she was friendly. And when we weren’t looking, she attacked from behind. The scary thing is, you didn’t see any of it coming. You didn't hear her approach.”
Alec remained silent. “I know her.”
“She loves you. She is obsessed,” you noted flatly. “You have history.”
“Yes, but that’s nothing for you to worry about.” He kissed the top of your head. “I was never interested in her. I will see if she poses a threat.”
“I don’t quite believe I have nothing to worry about.” You shook your head. “My dream told me you weren’t worrying enough.”
“But now I am aware of her. I won’t take this dream lightly. I know that you have some kind of gift.”
“Another thing.” You sat up, staring deep into his eyes.
“What is it?” Alec tensed when you wrapped your arms around his neck, burying your face in his neck. He quickly relaxed, however. Enjoying your warm breath on his cold skin. “We have met before. Haven’t we?”
“Yes.” Pained, Alec nodded.
“In another life.” You kissed his jaw, face returning to the crook of his neck. “Before the dream I just described, there was another sequence of events. It was shorter. But I was there. I was not from this life. But from another. And the woman was there, too.”
The vampire’s arms tightened around you, pulling you impossibly closer. He crossed his legs, caging you even more. “Yeah, in that life I lost you to her. And it will not happen again.”
“How many years ago was it?”
Alec chuckled. “Y/N, darling. Think bigger. We are talking about centuries. 1245, to be exact. But you were a young man then. A poet. Dashing and courageous.”
"I’m glad to be back.”
“Glad.” Alec spat the word out. “That does not even come close to describing how I feel. It is hard to put into words. I’m sure you can find the right words. After all, you are talented with them.”
“It feels like a dead planet was revived by hope and hope alone after experiencing armageddon. As if all the puzzle pieces of the world have connected to build their one true form. As if the past, present, and future have morphed into one entity to give birth to an endless golden summer. It feels like…”
“You.” Alec breathed. “Just like you. And that is enough.”
“You…” You smiled. “Yes. You.”
Alec was about to swear that he would never leave your side from now on. Even if it annoyed you. But then he felt your slow heartbeat and even breaths. You had fallen asleep. Here, in his arms.
“It feels like me, too. Like you and me.” Alec closed his eyes, imagining a dream.

Who asked: Can you do an Alec Volturi request where the reader is a sarcastic, bitter lower newborn guard who was abused in their human life and has the gift of clair-sentience (the ability to psychically feel, to receive messages from emotions and feelings) and he warms up to them because they bond over having "scary" gifts?
-----------------------------------
Warnings: mentions of past abuse, please read with caution
Note: this will also contain bashing of the Cullens
Note 2: The reader is gender neutral
---------------------------------------------
“…It would seem the rumors are true. The Cullen Coven is in fact coming to visit us.”
“Oh joy.” The sarcastic tone of his companion is something that never fails to amuse Alec, even as they play chess in a part of the castle gardens where the sun can’t reach them. “The Cullens have once again decided to grace us with their presence? In how many decades?”
“Thankfully, I do not keep track of their visits.” Alec responded as he moved one of the chess pieces. “Nor, am I their keeper. Something I am also thankful for.”
“That would be the cruelest punishment.” They were getting close to checkmate. “Outside of actually interacting with them.”
“You really detest them, don’t you?”
“How could I not? Especially after the last stunt that psychic of theirs had pulled."
Alice Cullen had ultimately decided to approach them, talking their ear off about potential shopping trips and how excited she was about their supposed budding friendship that she apparently saw happening in the future.
They had just ignored Alice and her ramblings, that was until she thought it was okay to touch them, and invade their personal space, obviously crossing an invisible line. Their boundary. It had reminded them of their human life, when their body had been a map of bruises old and new.
The only reason Alice had not lost her head was because of their self control and every time the psychic tried to approach them, they quickly left, not caring of how hurt she had felt.
They hoped that she had learned her lesson.
"Checkmate." Ah, Alec had captured their queen while they had been distracted.
Oh well, it's not like they were keeping score anyway.

Pathetic Little Thing
Part 1: Alec
"Is this the start of you rebellious teen phase?" Alec trailed along Jane in this little park they came upon.
"As long as we clean up after ourselves the masters won't care too much" She says nonchalantly her eyes landing on a couple in the distance.
"What about no feeding on the locals?" Alec piped up one of the Volturi's rules for living in the town.
"Occasionally the locals end up on the tours, as long as we don't make this little outing a habit it should be fine" Alec and Jane stared at the little teenage couple who probably snuck out of their parents house to meet here. It was very late at night hardly anyone was out.
"Do you want to join me?" Jane asked still staring at them with a look that if Alec didn't know his sister he would have thought was jealousy.
"No actually, maybe Ill stumble upon my own act of rebellion" Alec lightly chuckled and Jane preceded to hers. Alec wandered off in the opposite direction of Jane's fun. It was a few minutes passing of wandering and Alec thought maybe he wouldn't find a midnight snack.
Alec started to feel something as he walked as if something was pulling him in a certain direction. He then eventually smelled what he was craving. Blood.
Suddenly he heard a girl's voice screaming that perked up his ears.
As he focused on the girls screams that sounded like it was towards a group of italian boys. They were laughing and speaking in things in italian that dulled Alec but also made him wrinkle his nose in disgust. He also heard dogs barking and growling as he approached the scene.
He saw as a group of italian boys probably around twenty in numbers were surrounding a girl. Some of them were surrounding two German Shephards holding them by their leashes antagonizing them.
Alec moved towards the group unnoticed when he stepped on something. Realizing they had the contents on the girls purse all over the area around them as he picked up her passport.
Aisling Barton. 14 years old. American from New York.
"Tourist" he ringed smirking as he threw the ID over his shoulder.
The boys were playing with Aisling, they pulled at her hair, ripped at her clothes, hit her in different places, threw things at her while she frustratingly was trying to communicate with them. She kept making erratic movements with her hands. It then hit Alec that she was deaf. But then he saw her dark brown almost black eyes and how they weren't focused on anything. She was blind as well as deaf. What a pathetic little thing Alec thought as he watched the scene before him. He leaned against a tree as if he watching a show.
But the more Alec just stood by and watched it happened. Something snapped inside him that he thought was gone long ago.
Memories.
Her screaming was replaced with his.
Once he was just poor boy who everybody but his family hated. They saw him as an easy target, an easy person to blame for all their troubles. Him and his sister were beaten, tormented and bullied daily just because they were different. The villagers children would always attack them in groups. The group of boys started to get even closer to her.
Surrounding them as they beat them nearly to death. They were stomping on her to the point Alec heard bones crunching. They put them under their heels and spit at them from above. One of the boy pressed his heel into her temple then Alec noticed something.
Silence.
The girl had stopped long ago with her sobs. She stayed silent as they started to pull up her legs. Jane stayed silence too.
"This is boring" Alec said loud enough for one of the boys to turn. Before the boy could say a word Alec's mist had reached him, it had reached all of them.
Part 2: Aisling
Aisling felt alone in her hotel. Girls that were in the studying abroad program left hours ago. But she did have Aries and Athena laying on each side of her. She couldn't sleep in this new place. She didn't want to be here but her parents shipped her off to wherever they could.
She was a hindrance to them.
Even though she was a very independent girl.
Too independent as she decided to take a night walk. She was completely reliant on Aries and Athena at night when it came to her sight. But she enjoyed night walks. The stillness and freshness in the air. At night the busyness of everything was completely at peace. It seemed even more so in this town. But then she felt something start to happen. Several feet on the ground. Then before she knew it she was knocked to the ground. She could feel Aries and Athena going crazy and then they were pulled from her. She tried to not let go of the leashes but they stomped on her hands. She cried out clutching her hands to her chest. She was surrounded and she knew it. She tried to sign to them but they just pulled her in different directions clutching at her clothes. She kept trying to communicate with them hoping they would understand but screamed out in fear and frustration when her purse was finally taken from her. She kept trying to sign but their hands on her, the rocks and foul-smelling cans that met their mark, her clothes barely holding together, she accepted her fate. They started to kick and stomp on her making Aisling barely conscious.
She thought she was going to die as a man's heel pressed against her temple but ended up just kicking her head. They started to pull her body to the ground but something happened. All the bodies froze and then something miraculous happened. She felt a sort of mist come upon her and her senses changed. Her vision became it's usual grayish blur that it was during the day but never at night. Her hearing was better than her usual. She could usual only hear very loud bass music but right now she could hear boys screaming. She felt Aries and Athena come back to her side. Athena going behind her barking but she seemed frightened.
Aries stood in front of Aisling barking wildly as if he was afraid too but he would die to protect her. Aisling tried to make sense of her new found senses. She could see movement and the bodies still before they fell. She was actually shocked she never had been able to see the shapes of things before. But now she saw the bodies standing still or kneeling down while a force moved one by one to them. Some dropping to the ground while others they're bodies became halves of themselves flying in the air. Aisling didn't understand.
The screams were the worst part. It was the first human sound Aisling ever heard and it terrified her. But all of a sudden it stopped.
Part 3: Aisling & Alec
Alec came closer to being in front of Aisling.
She wondered what he was an animal...an archangel...a monster.
"Strange" Alec almost purred as he sucked the blood off his fingers staring closely at the girl before him.
Aisling ears perked up as she still felt the mist around her and realized it was the reason she could hear. But she didn't hear what the voice said only knew a voice came from whatever was in front of her. Even as she imagined or she actually could hear her babies still barking.
"You know you're the bravest dog I've ever met" Alec kneeled before Aries as the dog was the only thing standing between him and Aisling.
Athena had started to back away making Aisling confused. She never felt her dogs this scared before. What was in front of her?
Then she felt the mist start to leave and her vision went black. Little bit of sound she heard for the first time was gone.
"What to do with you?" Alec hummed melodic type of way as he surveyed the girl as she laid on the ground twisted up in different ways.
She gently started to pull the German Shephard to the side of her making a space between Alec and her. Alec sat there wondering what he wanted to do.
He could tell she was trying to use the dog to get up but she was weak. But her hand started to crawl up the ground towards him and he moved away. He knew she could tell because her hand stopped. Alec looked around perplexed as to why he was even thinking about this. But for some reason he just couldn't go for the kill. She's such a pathetic little thing there was no fun in it. Then something caught his eye. A phone on the ground by her purse. He slowly walked and kneeled down to it picking it up. He stood up playfully tossing it up and down in his hand catching it as he stared down at the pathetic little thing.
"Decisions....Decisions" He looked around at the mess he made realizing it was quite a mess.
Then truly looked at the braille phone and realized his first call to make.
"Felix come to the exact location I text you and come with haste" He ended the call and texted the description of the spot. He didn't want to clean this up. Call it laziness if you want. His eyes never left the girl as he wondered if he should leave her for Felix. He turned around ready to leave thinking he was going mad for even making it a decision but he didn't know what it was that made him go no further. A cosmic pull..an instinct whatever it was something snapped in Alec that he could not leave this girl to die. He rushed over to the girl lifting her up like she was made of glass. Something in him tensed all over that her animals faded into the background.
Everything around him became different as he held her to him. It was her...her smell..her blood..
He needed to hurry for whatever he was going to do. He rushed to the nearest public place at this time of night. Called the phone again. 112 he dialed for an ambulance. Saying the address and condition of the girl before hanging up. He with uncharacteristic gentleness laid her against a wall. He stared at her for a time and she raised her head to him. Did she know he was there? He didn't know never took the time understand her kind he thought as if she was another species from mortal. He was leaving her when she reached up toward him but he left to quickly. He waited on a rooftop nearby for them to come. Eventually someone joined him.
"You owe me" A growl came from his side.
"Is it taken care of?" Alec didn't take his eyes off the girl.
"I surveyed the mess you made and called Santiago. He'll clean it up" Felix said in a prideful manner that Alec thought he had no business in having.
"That's not what I asked" Alec calmly straightened his cuffs as the ambulance came.
"I am not your errand boy" Felix sneered as Alec smirked. He still didn't bother looking at him even as mist started to leave his hands making Felix step back.
"I won't tell if that's what you want" He said through gritted teeth still slowly stepping back but the mist kept coming.
"I'll make Santiago keep quiet as well plea-" Felix actually tripped over his own feet making Alec giggle and turn around while the ambulance was leaving. Alec strolled over to Felix ending up kneeling next to him.
"Next time do as you were told like a good boy" Alec roughly patted his cheek making Felix grimace. Alec causally got up making his way back to the park.
"Incompetence" Alec gave a disappointed shrug at the scene before. Blood specks still littered the ground. He still smelled death in the air not that he minded the smell. He even thought he saw an ear on the ground or a bit of throat. Beer bottles and cans covered in blood.
That didn't annoy him though.
It was the contents of Aisling Barton's purse that littered the ground still. He kneeled down annoyed snatching up the purse itself. There he saw a card to the Hotel San Lino. Alec bit his lip and stared at it.
He made a decision that night. Something that not Jane or Aro helped him make and one neither of them would approve of.
He debated over it but he made it all the same.
That he was going to see her again.

Alec entered the room, a confused frown planted on his face, brows furrowed as he noticed the lack of you. Your name echoed as he called out to you. “Y/N?”
“In here!” He heard your sweet voice call from the bathroom, and suddenly he was in front of you. You squealed as your heart jumped. You turned and pushed at his shoulder when he laughed at your racing heart. “Stop doing that!”
“No” He teased with a cheeky smile, admiring the sour look he managed to gain from you and stealing a soft kiss from your lips.
“You’re so annoying,” You huffed, turning to go back to organising your side of the bathroom. He smirked, leaning down to kiss your shoulder gently - never would he pass on the opportunity to tease you.
“Annoying, huh?” Your skin flushed, frozen in place at the feel of his cold lips on your warm skin. “Mhmmm.”
Your eyes watched his own through the mirror. He held your gaze, tugging at your skin and releasing your shoulder in favour of sucking marks onto your neck. Shivering in delight, you fell back into his chest with your head falling back, turning to face him when he pulled away.
“You’re a little touchy today…” You teased with a smile, brushing you thumb across his lips to rid him of your tinted lip balm that was smeared across his mouth. He returned it with one of his own, leaning down to kiss your forehead. You rolled your eyes at his reply.
“Only for you”
“You’re such a sweet talker.”
He ignored you, leaning down to kiss you - managing to silence you and seduce you all at once. It was deep, teeth tugging your bottom lip and tongue soothing over the burning sensation of his venom. Your hands came up, resting on his chest when he pulled away to see your reaction. With flushed cheeks you avoided his eye, messing with the crest necklace that rested around his neck shyly. He laughed through his nose, loving the way you still remained shy around him and placed his hands over yours.
“My shy, sweet faced, little girl”

A/N: Part 1 was originally just supposed to be a oneshot, but here I am. Enjoy! Pssst @rosedpetal and @badass-daisy-22 your wish is my command. ;)

He was laying on his bed, dressed more casually than I had ever seen him, in a simple white t-shirt and pajama bottoms, a book in hand. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the book was on ancient Greek myths, something that I was quite interested in and even planned to study in college.
His dark chocolate colored hair was splayed out across his pillow and I itched to touch it. Well, I really itched to touch all of him, but that was neither here nor there. I had a weird obsession with his hair. And his face. In particular his eyes and especially his lips. I grinned to myself, content just to watch with my being so far away.
Visions like this were rare, few and far in between.
I supposed it was kind of creepy, but in my defense I didn't really have control of these visions, especially since they happened while I was sleeping.
I could already feel the nudge of wakefulness pulling at me. I tried my best to burrow down deeper into sleep, but resistance was futile, and I found myself opening my eyes to see the ceiling of my bedroom back home in Forks, Washington.
I rolled over with a deep sigh. I would give anything to be in Volterra with Alec. Sadly I had a little bit longer to wait. Reaching for my phone I checked my messages and grinned to see a text from him.
'Missing you.'
Alec wasn't one for talking on the phone, he preferred to text, and almost always left me a good morning message to wake up to. Most days it was the highlight of my day.
I pressed the call button and he picked up before the second ring even made a sound.
"Good morning, tesoro."
"Good morning, love." I smiled, burrowing deeper into my covers.
I really just needed to hear his voice this morning.
Tumblr media
"Y/N?"
It was Bella, her arm wrapped around my shoulders.
"Hey, sis." I gave her a hug, resting my forehead against her.
"Everything's gonna be ok."
"I know." I sighed. "Let's just get today over with. Grab that diploma and skedaddle."
Bella would definitely have to repeat high school at some point and I counted my lucky stars that I was not in her shoes in that regard. Or any other regard. My sister was a fucking danger magnet and the whole Victoria shit was just a big red neon sign that proved it.
There was a knock at the door and Bella opened it to see Alice. The vampire was bouncing on the tips of her toes already, and the gleam in her eyes scared me. Maybe if I let Bella go first then I could make my escape-
"I'd take Y/N first. She's planning on making a run for it."
Edward you twat. Where did you come from??
Edward just shot me a crooked grin as I glared at him from over my shoulder, Alice already dragging me up the stairs. With a sigh I sat on my bed like a good girl and let Alice do her thing. Thankfully I had already done my makeup, and Alice was content to give me some red lipstick for a pop of color.
"Alec will like it, promise." She gave me a wink and I swear I turned at least fifty shades of red.
"He's not even supposed to be here today. Do you know something I don't?" I eyed her skeptically, but the little bit of hope I was feeling was obvious.
She smiled at me sadly. "Sorry, Y/N. But speaking of lover-boy."
Alice turned to her bag and brought out a small ornate box, handing it to me with all the care in the world. From Alec?
I let my fingers curl around the box, admiring the designs carved into the dark colored wood. It was old, which was quite obvious, and while I had an inkling that it was a piece of jewelry, I was in no way prepared for when I opened the box. It was a small ruby pendant, about the size of my pinky nail, dangling from a golden chain. It had with a rough rectangular cut that rounded out a little at the bottom. I was immediately mesmerized, stroking the pendant in wonder.
It reminded me not just of blood, but of something else that I couldn't quite remember. It was then that I saw the note wedged into the top of the box. I unfolded it with shaking hands, overwhelmed and giddy.
For my Persephone. Congratulations. -A
My mouth popped open. Oh. Oh this boy was clever.
The ruby wasn't supposed to be blood, it was supposed to be a pomegranate seed. Like one of the seeds that Hades offered to Persephone. In the end, eating the pomegranate seeds forced her to return to the underworld to live half the year there with Hades. It was my favorite Greek myth, and I couldn't help but draw parallels between her story and my own. They were rather crooked parallels, but I wasn't too bothered by that.
I could feel the tears start to well up. I don't think I've ever received a gift that was so thoughtful.
"Oh hun. No. No." Alice was there beside me in a heartbeat, wiping the tears before they could fall.
"They're happy tears, Alice." I said with a small smile.
Well, not completely happy, I wished he was here of course. But I would be seeing him soon enough.
"I know. We don't wanna ruin your makeup. Let me help you put it on and we'll take a good portrait to send him, yeah?"
"Thanks, Alice. You're the best ever."
I only wished I had realized just how soon we would be seeing each other.

'I am in so much trouble.'
My anxiety, paired with the adrenaline rush, was practically so high I was pretty sure it was orbiting the moon. Jasper was by my side, doing his best to soothe not just me, but poor little Bree Tanner.
"How bad is it gonna be, Alice?" I whispered to her, wringing my hands together and bouncing on the tips of my toes. "How much trouble am I in?"
"Relax." She soothed.
"So pretty fucking bad. Do I have time to run?"
I was this close to hyperventilating.
I wasn't even supposed to be here. Bella almost had my head when she saw me on the back Jacob's wolf form, poised and ready to help. With what I wasn’t entirely sure in that moment. I had come up with the harebrained scheme to help muddle Bella's scent with my own by switching the matching jackets we had received for Christmas years ago. Emmet had made the comment a while ago that our scents were pretty similar, so I just kind of ran with the idea. It had worked so well that even Edward hadn't seemed to notice when Bella had slipped on my jacket instead of her own. It had helped split the army at least. Having two humans with similar scents had sent them all mixed signals, so it had kind of worked.
Or so I was telling myself.
So here I was, exactly in a place where I wasn't supposed to be, and the Volturi would be arriving any minute. More specifically Alec and the other elite guards from what Alice had said. None of whom I've had the pleasure of meeting yet. Including his sister. This was like… meeting your significant other's family for the first time.
Well, this was gonna be one hell of a hello.
"They're coming." Alice's panicked voice did nothing to calm me down.
Jasper put a hand on my shoulder in an attempt to help. "Try to relax, Y/N. It's not you he's going to angry with."
I simply nodded and fiddled with my necklace, the ruby seed feeling cold and smooth beneath my fingers. That helped a little as they appeared from the fog, and I found myself catching my breath when I saw Alec's silhouette emerge. He removed his hood and nearly froze when he caught sight of me. I gave him a small smile and a wave.
He let out a snarl that almost sent me hiding behind Jasper.
Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit.
"Y/N is safe." Carlisle soothed. "We never would have let anything happen to her."
"This is the second time your coven has dragged her into something dangerous." He hissed, voice low and deadly.
'Well, if we're gonna get technical about it Alec, we never would have met had it not been for that first time.'
Edward shot me a look.
What? It's not like I had said it out loud.
Wringing my hands, I stepped forward slightly before finally gathering the courage to approach him. He met me half way, gathering me into his arms. I let out a deep sigh of contentment as I buried my face in his jacket.
"I know you're angry." I whispered. "But I couldn't let something happen to Bella. They weren't even aware of what I was doing until it was too late. I'm sorry. For scaring you."
Alec said nothing for a long minute and I could feel the tension practically eating me alive.
"Alec." The red-eyed girl spoke, watching and taking us in.
Jane. His sister.
He simply nodded and left me standing there before returning to his position by her side. My heart dropped. He hadn't even bothered to say anything. I turned swiftly, blinking back tears. While I was sorry for scaring him, I refused to be sorry for my actions. Bella was my sister, and I would do what I could to help her. I stood a little behind Alice, staring at nothing and trying my best to turn off my emotions.
Jane spoke again. "Impressive. I have never seen a coven escape an assault of this magnitude intact."
"We were lucky." Carlisle answered.
"I doubt that."
I couldn't help the way my eyebrows shot up. Then I had to remind myself that this was Jane, and she had always proved exceptionally brutal in my visions. And this was no different, although it was Felix who did the dirty work this time. Bree was gone.
I didn't even blink at the end of it. I simply stood there, like a zombie when they finally disappeared. And Alec hadn't even said a word. The dam holding back the flood of tears finally broke.
'There goes my red-eyed boy.'

PREFACE
You are the kindest thing
that ever happened to me,
even if that is not how our tale is told.
When everyone else told me I was
destined to be a forgotten nymph
that nurtured flowers and turn meadows gold,
you saw that the ichor that resides in me
demanded its own throne.
You showed me
how a love like ours can turn
even the darkest, coldest realm
into the happiest of homes.
-  Nikita Gill
INTRODUCTION
When I thought about my future, I was sure that I had the rest of my life vaguely planned out.
I would graduate from Forks High School in three years, then go to college in Seattle, or maybe Tacoma or Spokane — far enough away from Forks that I could truly start my own life but close enough to visit Charlie every weekend so he wouldn’t be lonely. I would finish my degree — which would probably be something in the sciences or maybe the arts — then I would start my career in my chosen field.
I would eventually find someone that I would want to spend the rest of my life with, someone I loved and who loved me just as much. We would probably get married at some point and maybe even have a kid or two down the road. I would come back to Forks every so often to visit my father with my family. It was always so easy to envision myself and my father and my family sitting in the living room, laughing and eating and watching some sports game on the TV. I thought that it was inevitable that I would always spend my holidays exactly like that — happy and surrounded by the people that I loved the most.
Then, my older sister moved up from Arizona to stay with us — and turned my entire life upside down.
I had no idea just how bad it had gotten until I was standing in a castle in Italy, convinced that I was about to die.
1. CONFESSIONS
Bella was waiting for me and Charlie at the front door when we finally made it home from the hospital. I was holding our father’s hand, trying to give him some sort of comfort as he tried to cope with the sudden loss of one of his closest friends, Harry Clearwater.
Bella wrapped her arms around his waist as soon as he was close enough. Dad pulled his hand away from mine to hug her tightly. I glanced down at the ground, swallowing down my emotions once again.
‘Charlie had a rough day,’ I reminded myself. ‘He didn’t mean to snub me by pulling his hand away.’
“I’m sorry about Harry, Dad,” Bella murmured.
“I’m really going to miss him,” he said.
“How’s Sue doing?”
Charlie sighed deeply and said, “She seems dazed, like she hasn’t grasped it yet. Sam’s staying with her. . . . Those poor kids. Leah’s just a year older than you, and Seth is only fourteen. . . .”
He kept his arm around Bella as he started towards the door again. I followed behind them silently.
“Um, Dad?” Bella began nervously. “You’ll never guess who’s here.”
Charlie and I both looked at Bella, then glanced around the street. Just as I spotted the shiny, black Mercedes parked a little down the street, a soft, high-pitched voice floated out of my house and raised the hair on the back of my neck.
“Hi, Charlie, Eve. I’m sorry I came at such a bad time.”
“Alice Cullen?” Charlie said. I glared at the pixie-like girl, my hands curling into fists as Charlie asked in amazement, “Alice, is that you?”
“It’s me. I was in the neighborhood.”
“Is Carlisle–”
“No, I’m alone.”
I clenched my jaw. My nails were digging into the palms of my hands so hard that I wondered if they would draw blood.
“She can stay here, can’t she?” Bella pleaded, looking up at Charlie and drawing my glare towards her. “I already asked her to.”
“Of course. We’d love to have you, Alice,” Charlie answered.
I scoffed and brushed past all three of them to finally head into the house. I could hear Alice say from outside, “Thank you, Charlie. I know it’s horrid timing.”
“No, it’s fine, really,” Charlie assured her as I began to climb the stairs and they moved inside. “I’m going to be really busy doing what I can for Harry’s family. It will be nice for the girls to have some company.”
Tears gathered in my eyes as I walked into my room and closed the door behind me.
What the hell was Bella thinking? Or Alice, or Charlie for that matter? They had to know that Alice Cullen was only going to stay for one night, maybe two, and then she would leave again. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that once she did leave, Bella was going to be destroyed and Charlie and I would be left to pick up her broken pieces yet again. My sister and father might still have soft spots for Alice, but I didn’t trust any of the Cullens anymore, not after how they had treated Bella.
I still didn’t understand how they could treat her so horribly. How could they all just disappear one day and not even return her calls or emails? How could Edward leave my sister out in the woods after breaking up with her? How could he leave without making sure that she at least made it back to the house safely?
How could any of them claim to have ever loved or cared about her at all?
After taking a quick shower the next morning, I walked downstairs to find Alice sitting with Charlie in the kitchen while he attempted to make breakfast. I leaned back against the counter beside him, watching warily as he poked the bacon frying in the pan.
Alice asked quietly, “How bad was it?”
I shot her a nasty look as Charlie sighed and said, “Real bad.”
“Tell me about it. I want to know exactly what happened when we left.”
I looked down at my sock-clad feet as I crossed my arms securely over my chest. I tried to control my breathing as I blinked back tears.
Charlie hesitated before he spoke. “I’ve never felt so hopeless. I didn’t know what to do — neither of us did. That first week. . . . I thought I was going to have to hospitalize her. She wouldn’t eat or drink, she wouldn’t move. Dr. Gerandy was throwing around words like ‘catatonic,’ but I didn’t let him up to see her. I was afraid it would scare her.”
“She snapped out of it, though?” Alice asked.
“I was going to have Renée come to take her to Florida. I just didn’t want to be the one . . . if she had to go to a hospital or something,” Charlie explained. “I hoped being with her mother would help. But when she heard her mother was on her way and we started packing her clothes, she woke up with a vengeance. I’ve never seen Bella throw a fit like that. She was never one for tantrums, but boy did she fly into a fury. . . . She threw her clothes everywhere and screamed that we couldn’t make her leave . . . and then she finally started crying. I thought that would be the turning point. I didn’t argue when she insisted on staying here . . . and she did seem to get better at first. . . .”
“But?” Alice prompted when he trailed off.
He sighed. “She went back to school and work, she ate and slept and did her homework. She answered when someone asked her a direct question. . . . But she was . . . empty. Her eyes were blank. There were lots of little things — she wouldn’t listen to music anymore. I found a bunch of CDs broken in the trash. She didn’t read, she wouldn’t be in the same room when the TV was on, not that she watched it so much before. I finally figured it out . . . she was avoiding everything that might remind her of . . . him.”
I dug my fingernails into my arms at the mere mention of Edward. My hatred for him had soaked into every cell of my body after the way he had destroyed my sister. Somehow, I just knew that he knew how depressed Bella would get if he left her. He just didn’t care.
“We could hardly talk,” Charlie continued. “Eve and I were so worried about saying something that would upset her — the littlest things would make her flinch — and she never volunteered anything. She would just answer if I asked her something. . . . She was alone all the time, even with us here. She didn’t call her friends back, and after a while, they stopped calling. It was night of the living dead around here. I still hear her screaming in her sleep. . . .”
My chest tightened as Bella’s tortured screams echoed through my mind. Tears pricked my eyes and I blinked them back once again. Bella’s nightmares had been the singular most horrid thing about the Cullens leaving. It was as if their disappearance from Forks had traumatized her more than anything else ever could.
“I’m so sorry, Charlie,” Alice said.
I bit back the acidic comment I wanted to spit at her as my father replied, “It’s not your fault. You were always a good friend to her.”
I scoffed, quietly enough that Charlie couldn’t hear me.
Alice’s eyes flickered towards me for a moment before she looked back at Charlie. She said, “She seems better now, though.”
“Yeah,” he agreed. “Ever since she started hanging out with Jacob Black, I’ve noticed a real improvement. She has some color in her cheeks when she comes home, some light in her eyes. She’s happier. . . . He’s Eve’s age, so he’s a year younger than her, and I know Bella used to think of him as a friend, but I think maybe it’s something more now, or headed that direction, anyway. Right, Eve?”
I gave him a small smile and said placatingly, “Yeah, maybe.”
But the moment he looked away, my smile disappeared. It was a wistful dream. It was true that there seemed to be something between them, but the one thing I had learned during this whole nightmare was that Edward would always hold Bella’s heart in his hands, no matter how much he hurt her. I hated him for it.
“Jake’s old for his years,” Charlie said, almost defensively. “He’s taken care of his father physically the way Bella took care of her mother emotionally. It matured him. He’s a good-looking kid, too — takes after his mom’s side. He’s good for Bella, you know.”
“Then it’s good she has him.”
Charlie sighed and I could almost see the way his façade crumbled at Alice’s words.
“Okay, so I guess that’s overstating things. I don’t know — even with Jacob, now and then I see something in her eyes, and I wonder if I’ve ever grasped how much pain she’s really in. It’s not normal, Alice, and it . . . it frightens me. Not normal at all. Not like someone . . . left her, but like someone died.”
My heart throbbed painfully in my chest when I heard Charlie’s voice crack. He had never been a very emotional man, so hearing the strain in his voice hurt me. Gently and wordlessly, I nudged him away from the stove and took over cooking breakfast myself. Charlie said nothing, but the way his hand lingered on mine for a few moments conveyed his appreciation better than his words could have.
“I don’t know if she’s going to get over it. . . . I’m not sure if it’s in her nature to heal from something like this. She’s always been such a constant little thing. She doesn’t get past things, changer her mind,” he said.
“She’s one of a kind,” Alice agreed. I threw a glare at her over my shoulder, even though I wasn’t quite sure why her comment bothered me so much.
“And Alice,” Charlie hesitated, then said, “Now, you know how fond I am of you, and I can tell that she’s happy to see you, but . . . I’m a little worried about what your visit will do to her.”
“So am I, Charlie, so am I,” she sighed. “I wouldn’t have come if I’d had any idea. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize, honey. Who knows? maybe it will be good for her.”
“I hope you’re right.”
I shook my head, choosing to remain silent. Of course Alice’s visit wouldn’t be good for Bella. Alice would eventually leave and shatter the few delicate parts of Bella that had somehow managed to heal.
“Alice, I have to ask you something.”
I glanced at Charlie as I began to plate his breakfast. Alice said, “Go ahead.”
“He’s not coming back to visit, too, is he?”
Charlie sounded about as furious as I felt. I knew our rage had to be on nearly the same level. I didn’t think either of us would hesitate to rip Edward a new one if he dared to show his face around here again.
“He doesn’t even know I’m here. The last time I spoke with him, he was in South America.”
I scoffed openly this time and Charlie snorted. I placed his plate in front of him as he commented bitterly, “That’s something, at least. Well I hope he’s enjoying himself.”
Alice tensed and replied steelily, “I wouldn’t make assumptions.”
I had been reading a book upstairs when I heard the shouting. I quickly set my book aside and rushed downstairs. I followed the noise to the living room, where I found Bella, Alice, and Jacob Black. My wide eyes glanced between them, watching as Jacob shouted profanities at Alice, who was ignoring him, a strange look of horror and determination etched onto her face. Bella looked horrified, even more so than when she had the nightmares that made her wake up screaming.
“What’s going on?” I asked worriedly.
“Alice?” Bella said weakly. “What happened?”
“I don’t know!” Alice exclaimed. “What is he thinking?”
She pulled a cellphone from her handbag. My jaw dropped as I watched her dial a number so quickly that her fingers blurred together. How in the hell was it even possible for her to move that fast?
“Rose, I need to talk to Carlisle now. . . . Fine, as soon as he’s back. No, I’ll be on a plane. Look, have you heard anything from Edward?”
As Rosalie Cullen answered Alice’s question, the tiny girl’s face grew more and more appalled by the second. The phone shook in her hand. I looked at Bella, hoping that she would notice my confusion and explain what was happening, but her eyes were locked onto Alice.
“Why? Why would you do that, Rosalie?” A silent moment passed, then Alice spoke again, “Well, you’re wrong on both counts, though, Rosalie, so that would be a problem, don’t you think? Yes, that’s right. She’s absolutely fine . . . I was wrong. . . . It’s a long story. . . . But you’re wrong about that part, too, that’s why I’m calling. . . . Yes, that’s exactly what I saw. . . . It’s a bit late for that, Rose. Save your remorse for someone who believes it.”
She snapped the phone shut and turned back towards Bella.
Bella said, “Alice, Alice, Carlisle is back, though. He called just before–”
“How long ago?”
“Half a minute before you showed up.”
“What did he say?”
“I didn’t talk to him.”
Alice and Bella turned expectantly towards Jacob, and I mirrored them. He flinched, but he didn’t move away from Bella’s side. My mind was whirling, trying to understand what was happening — or what had happened. Nothing about this made sense.
“He asked for Charlie, and I told him Charlie wasn’t here,” Jacob muttered.
“Is that everything?” Alice demanded coldly.
“Then he hung up on me.”
Bella said in a soft voice, “You told him Charlie was at the funeral.”
Alice’s head snapped towards my sister. “What were his exact words?”
“He said, ‘He’s not here,’ and when Carlisle asked where Charlie was, Jacob said, ‘At the funeral.’”
Alice moaned in pain and fell to her knees. I took a step back in shock, glancing between her and Bella and Jacob in confusion.
“Tell me, Alice,” Bella whispered.
“That wasn’t Carlisle on the phone.”
“Are you calling me a liar?” Jacob snarled. Alice ignored him, her unblinking gaze locked on Bella’s face as she explained, “It was Edward. He thinks you’re dead.”
Bella sighed as she relaxed. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Why would Edward think that Bella was dead? Why was Alice so clearly distraught? Why was Bella suddenly so calm about this?
“Rosalie told him I killed myself, didn’t she?”
“Yes. In her defense, she did believe it. They rely on my sight far too much for something that works so imperfectly. But for her to track him down to tell him this! Didn’t she realize — or care?”
“And when Edward called here, he thought Jacob meant my funeral.”
“You’re not upset,” Alice whispered.
“Well, it’s rotten timing, but it will all get straightened out,” Bella replied. “The next time he calls, someone will tell him what really. . . .”
She trailed off, her brown eyes widening slightly as she took in the genuine horror on Alice’s face.
“Bella, Edward won’t call again,” Alice said slowly. “He believed her.”
“I don’t understand,” Bella said, her voice so quiet that I could only barely make out the words.
“He’s going to Italy.”
For a single moment, everything seemed to be frozen. No one moved or spoke. Then, Bella shrieked, “NO! No! No, no, no! He can’t! He can’t do that!”
“He made up his mind as soon as your friend confirmed that it was too late to save you.”
“But he — he left! He didn’t want me anymore! What difference does it make now? He knew I would die sometime!”
Alice said quietly, “I don’t think he ever planned to outlive you by long.”
“How dare he!” Bella screamed, jumping to her feet. Jacob stood up beside her, attempting to put himself between her and Alice. “Oh, get out of the way, Jacob!” She elbowed her way around him and begged Alice, “What do we do? Can’t we call him? Can Carlisle?”
She shook her head. “That was the first thing I tried. He left his phone in a trash can in Rio — someone answered it.”
“You said before we had to hurry. Hurry how? Let’s do it, whatever it is!”
“Bella, I-I don’t think I can ask you to. . . .”
“Ask me!”
Alice put her hands on Bella’s shoulders, her voice deadly serious as she spoke. “We may already be too late. I saw him going to the Volturi — and asking to die. It all depends on what they choose. I can’t see that until they make a decision. But if they say no, and they might — Aro is fond of Carlisle, and wouldn’t want to offend him — Edward has a backup plan. They’re very protective of their city. If Edward does something to upset the peace, he thinks they’ll act to stop him. And he’s right. They will.”
Bella just stared at Alice for a moment. Her jaw was clenched, her expression seemingly frustrated.
“So, if they agree to grant his favor, we’re too late. If they say no, and he comes up with a plan to offend them quickly enough, we’re too late. If he gives into his more theatrical tendencies — we might have time. . . . Let’s go!”
“Listen, Bella!” Alice exclaimed. “Whether we are on time or not, we will be in the heart of the Volturi city. I will be considered his accomplice if he is successful. You will be a human who not only knows too much, but also smells too good. There’s a very good chance that they will eliminate us all — though in your case, it won’t be punishment so much as dinnertime.”
“This is what’s keeping us here?” Bella asked. “I’ll go alone if you’re afraid.”
“I’m only afraid of getting you killed.”
“I almost get myself killed on a daily basis! Tell me what I need to do!”
“You write a note to Charlie. I’ll call the airlines.”
“STOP!” I yelled. All three of them turned towards me, their eyes wide as if they had forgotten that I was even in the room with them. “What the fuck is going on? What are you talking about? Bella, you can’t just go to Italy!”
“There’s no time–”
I cut Alice off, “I’m not letting you take my sister all the way to Italy, where you said that she is probably going to die unless you tell me what is really going on!”
“The Cullens are vampires,” Bella said. My eyes widened and I opened my mouth to speak, but Bella rambled on before I could say a single word. “I’ve known about them and what they are since Edward and I got close last year. . . . The Volturi are like their government, or royalty, or something in between, I’m not really sure. They have laws that all vampires are supposed to follow, like not letting humans know that vampires exist. . . . Edward thinks I’m dead because Alice saw me jump off the cliff — oh, yeah, some vampires have special powers, so that’s how Alice can see the future. Edward is going to ask the Volturi to kill him. . . . I need to go. I need to save him, Eve.”
“Bella–”
“Eve, I can’t lose him!” she insisted, tears in her eyes. Her lip trembled and her voice broke as she begged, “Please, please, just this once put yourself in my shoes and help me.”
I flinched at her words and my heart stung sharply in my chest. These past few months, my whole life had revolved around helping my sister. But, like always, I pushed aside my own feelings and swallowed my thoughts in order to help my family.
“Fine,” I sighed. “But, I’m going with you. I’m not letting you do this by yourself.”
“No,” Alice insisted, shaking her head. “It’s too risky.”
I glared at her. “Either I’m coming with you, or I’ll call Charlie home from work right now.”
“Please, Alice,” Bella mumbled, taking my hand in hers. “Just let her come with. We need to go.”
Alice stared at me for a long moment, a blank expression on her face, before she sighed.
“Hurry.”

Warning: violence towards a character
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Tryna wash away all the blood I´ve spilt This lust is a burden that we both share  Two sinners can´t atone from  a lone prayer  Souls tied, interwined by our pride and guilt”
-David Kushner
"I promise you...," Y/N paused, turning her gaze away from Mara, who was standing in front of her with her arms crossed, and looking at Mick, who was looking at her with a raised eyebrow as he made himself comfortable on Mara's bed.
"I promise you I'll be back. I just want to be alone for an hour or two." Annoyed, the young Swan exhaled. She felt smothered within the four walls of the hotel room where she had lain in bed for the past three days. The fact that her two best friends, had not let her out of their sight for a second since the night with Demetri, supported this feeling.
Determined, Y/N took her bag from the bed and hung it over her shoulder. "Besides, you two could use some time alone." The young girl left no more room for arguments from her friends, as she was already halfway out the door when she spoke those words. But Y/N paused once more, stretching her torso back through the still-open crack of the door and looking back and forth between Mara and Mick in turn. "Just please don't have sex on my bed." Laughing, Y/N closed the door as Mara angrily threw one of the guidebooks at her, while Mick just laughed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the street in front of the hotel, Y/N stopped. She turned her face up to the gray sky. She flinched slightly as the first raindrops trickled down onto the skin of her face. Pressing her raincoat closer to her body, she dropped the smile she had put on for her friends and closed her eyes.
The raindrops slowly began to make their way down Y/N's face, but they didn't bother the young girl, quite the opposite. Y/N gratefully accepted the coldness of the water. The drops replaced the tears that she herself no longer had left to cry. For once, taking a deep breath, she absorbed the smell of the rain, the certainty settled in her bones that tonight was the last evening for her in Volterra.
Tomorrow morning, she would fly back with her class, and never return. Y/N would then go back to Forks, to her father, her sister, and the Cullens, and Demetri would exist only in her memories from that point on. This thought sent a shiver down the young girl's body.
Shaking herself slightly, Y/N turned her head straight ahead again and started moving. She didn't know where to go, since she didn't know her way around Volterra. But she didn't want to go back to the hotel room either, so the young Swan decided to just start walking and hoping that nothing would happen to her.
„To live is the rarest thing in the World. Most people exist, that is all!”
Hours had passed during which Y/N walked around lost in thought. She had lost her sense of direction and was aware that her friends and classmates were certainly worried. But the young girl could not convince herself to turn back or take out her cell phone and find her way back to the hotel.
Y/N was soaked, confused and exhausted. She didn't know what she wanted or what she was trying to accomplish by wandering around Volterra.
With tears welling up again, the Swan girl sat down on the edge of a fountain that stood in the middle of an empty, yet lit, sidewalk. She let her fingertips glide over the water and smiled slightly at each tear drop that fell into the water. The rain had stopped and so had her will to resist the tears. With her free hand, Y/N reached into her pocket and pulled out the crumpled note Demetri had left in the book. Again she read the lines written there in black ink, as she had done over and over again in the last few days.
"Pretty girls like you shouldn't be walking around outside alone at this hour, or at all alone with your mind elsewhere."
Startled, Y/N winced. She stuffed the note back into her pocket and stood up properly. As she did so, she didn't take her eyes off the man who had appeared behind her as if out of nowhere.
"Is there anything I can do to help you?" Y/N closed her eyes for a brief moment as she saw the stranger's grin grow larger. Even though she tried, Y/N couldn't stop the tremor in her voice. Which only confirmed to her opposite that the young girl was definitely alone and scared.
The unknown man took another step towards Y/N, which she answered with a step closer to the fountain. Defensively, the stranger raised his hands. "Don't worry little girl, I won't hurt you." The young Swan's eyes widened. She immediately felt as if she was looking at the man properly for the first time. His skin was almost white as snow, while his eyes seemed black. Y/N swallowed, for she had a feeling that if she had met him on any other day, his eyes would be red. She also did not notice any breathing or blinking of the eyes.
Laughing, the man approached Y/N, he reached out a hand and placed it on her cheek, making her wince as panic began to spread inside her. The stranger's skin was as cold as ice. "Not as long as you don't fight back," he finished the sentence he had started.
Startled, Y/N slapped the man's hand away, surprising him, and ran. The vampire immediately started laughing, which echoed on the empty street and made Y/N run even faster. She knew that the castle of Volterra couldn't be far, since magically it was always the first thing she saw when she walked through the streets. If the young girl could reach it before her attacker, she was safe, she would be with Demetri.
Without warning, Y/N slammed into the side of the wall with her entire body. Gasping for air, she hit the hard floor. She caught the impact with her hands, causing the skin on them to split open in some places. Blood leaked from the small openings, causing the unknown vampire to draw air through his nose. "Your blood smells better than anything I've ever smelled!" He muttered to himself, his eyes still closed.
Gritting her teeth, Y/N tried to crawl silently away from the vampire. But he grabbed her ankle and pulled her back. Calling for help, she began kicking and punching at her attacker with her legs and arms. All this triggered another loud laugh. The vampire put his hands around Y/N's neck pulling her up by it and pressing her against the brick wall. As he did so, his grip tightened with each passing second. Y/N tried to strike at him with her hands, also scratching at his hands to loosen the grip on her neck, but her attempts were in vain. Just as black dots began to surround her field of vision, the vampire let go of her and caught her body. Gasping for air, she noticed how there was no spark of strength left in her. Her body felt limp and burning. "Such a pretty thing. If I wasn't so hungry, I would have spent more time with you."
The vampire supported her body with one hand while turning her face to the side with the other. He let the dome of his index finger trail over her pulse point as he grinned in satisfaction. "Please don't..." , Y/N muttered. "Don't worry it will be over quickly!" This was the last thing Y/N was aware of until the pain set in. The vampire had buried his fangs in her neck. Y/N felt her life being literally sucked out of her as the vampire drank more and more of her blood. Again black dots began to dance in front of her eyes and the only thing she could think about was Demetri, while more and more tears ran down her cheeks.
With a jolt, the feeling of the vampire in front of her disappeared, as did the arm holding her upright. Exhausted and preparing to hit the ground again, Y/N closed her eyes. However, before Y/N hit the ground one more time she was stopped by two arms and pinned against a chest.
"Mon amour please open your eyes!" Demetri pleaded with his mate. Blinking, she opened her eyes, contorted her face in pain, and then looked him straight in the eye. "Demetri, you're here." Her voice was no longer even a whisper. Carefully, Demetri stroked Y/N's bloodied hair from her face and left his hand on her cheek. "I will always be where you are. You just have to promise me to stay awake!" Smiling weakly, she placed a hand on his cheek, trembling. "I'm so sorry." Confused, the vampire looked at her. "Sorry for what?" His mate shook her head weakly, her eyelids beginning to flutter as her hand slid down from his cheek.
Everything around Demetri slowed down. The sounds of his friends killing the vampire became a low hiss as Y/N's eyes began to close and her pulse continued to slows. Demetri rested his forehead against his mate's. "Please don't leave me again! You can't leave me!"
But Y/N no longer understood a word, the ringing in her ears had become far too loud for that. "I love you, Demetri Volturi." Whether she said it out loud or just thought it, she didn't know, but she was glad to have seen the man she loved once again, before her world went black and her body went limp in his arms, she knew she was finally home.

""Will she be awake in time?" Aro, and every other vampire in the throne room, looked closely at the doctor in front of him. The latter nodded slightly anxiously and looked around. "Miss Swan has lost a lot of blood, but nothing that can't be fixed with a blood infusion and bed rest." His voice trembled slightly, however, he did better than the Kings had expected.
Nodding, Aro looked to Jane. "Inform Demetri about this. He will be at her bedside. Felix escort the doctor out." Both guards stepped forward to follow what they were told to do. "And doctor." The man addressed stopped in the doorway and turned slowly. "Everything you've seen today, you'd better forget." Marcus looked at him, bored. Caius began to grin nastily, "Accidents happen every day!" Aro spread his arms, "And it would be a shame for such talent to go to waste!" Quickly the man nodded, "I was never here!" Satisfied, the kings looked at him. Felix put a hand on his shoulder and pushed him further in the direction of the exit.
"Why didn't he just turn her?" Caius looked questioningly at his brother. "He would have escaped the Cullens and that annoying sister that way. His mate would have no choice but to stay here to get used to her new life." Marcus turned to the blond-haired man. "And that's just it. It would have been forced." Aro nodded. "Our young friend wants his mate to want to walk this path willingly, with him by her side or without him."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Demetri?" Jane entered Demetri's room. He was sitting on the floor with his back against his bed where his mate was sleeping. He had drawn his knees to his chest, buried his hands in his hair, and rested his forehead on his knees. At Jane's voice he looked up. "The doctor's gone, he says she'll be fine. She just needs bed rest." Demetri just nodded and laid his head back on his knees. Jane looked down at her teammate and debated with herself. She closed the door and took thoughtful steps toward the bed. Y/N looked pale, but since the second blood infusion, the redness of her skin was slowly working its way back.
The vampire sat down on the floor next to Demetri, which made him look to the side in confusion. "I thought at the beginning that you had gone mad. Fighting so hard for the Swan girl, even though she didn't want you. Letting your heart break over and over again. Now that I see you with her, now that I've seen the way she was in your arms, the way she looked at you, the smile just before she thought she was going to die, just because she could tell you she loved you. Makes me understand why you did it. Why you ran after her and why you didn't want to turn her. I don't understand the soul mates thing, I only have Alec who I trust and I don't think that will ever change. But Demetri, when she wakes up, and she will. Don't let her go again. You both need each other!" Jane looked deep into Demetri's eyes and put a hand on his shoulder. Demetri looked at her gratefully and placed his hand over hers. "I'm scared." Jane nodded. "You two will get through this, and if anything happens, we'll be behind you and her." Demetri smiled.
Jane stood up and headed for the door, but turned back to him. "If you tell anyone what I said here, I will cause you pain that will make you wish you were never born!" Demetri dropped his head back into his neck laughing, "There's the Jane I love!" Briefly her eyes lit up and a smile settled over her mouth. Shortly after, she was gone.

"You just confirmed what I warned Y/N about!" Bella looked angrily over at Demetri. The latter rolled his eyes, "And that would be?" "You put her in danger!" "She would never have been in danger if she hadn't been alone, and she was only alone because she pushed Demetri away because of you!" Felix laughed in disbelief from what he had just heard. Bella took a step towards the vampire, but Edward grabbed her waist and pulled her back to his chest. "Stop it now Bella!"
"You better listen to your fiancé young girl! It was pure kindness on Demetri's part to inform you of your sister's condition." Aro looked closely at Bella. "Kindness?!" Bella was turning red with anger. "Put a leash on your human before I do something about her!", Caius looked at Bella out of annoyed eyes. Edward tightened his grip around his fiancée. The latter took a deep breath and looked back at Aro. "If Carlisle confirms to us right away that my sister is fit to travel, I will take her back to Forks with me." She turned to Demetri and pointed a finger at him. "And you will stay away from my sister . From this day until her last day." Demetri shook his head. "You will not take her anywhere again. Until she can speak for herself, she stays here. Let Y/N make her own decisions, you've been calling all the shots in her life long enough!" "I only want what's best for her!" "By keeping her away from the one she loves!" Alec raised his eyebrow in amusement. Bella laughed mockingly. "She doesn't love him. My sister could never love a monster!" "Careful! Maybe none of our powers can do anything against you, but we can always hurt you, though! You forget you're still human!" Jane's voice became sharp. But Bella laughed again. "And that proves what I'm saying, you Volturi are nothing more than monsters!"
"The only monster in this room is you Bella."
All at once, everyone's heads turned to the kings. Y/N had entered the throne room through the back entrance. Next to her stood a sad-looking Carlisle. He knew he should not have taken Bella with him, for as the vampire knew Y/N would not return with them, but would remain with Demetri and therefore with the Volturi.
"Sister!" "Mon amour!" Bella and Demetri spoke at the same time. Y/N's gaze moved from her sister to Demetri. The latter looked at her with relief and a little fear, but she did not think twice. As fast as her bare feet could carry her, she ran towards Demetri and jumped into his arms. Relieved, he immediately wrapped his arms around her torso and hugged her to him. As he did so, the vampire closed his eyes and buried his face in the crook of her neck.
Aro began to clap and even jumped up and down once. "I think my young Bella, this is answer enough where your sister wants to stay. Isn't it?" Bella shook her head. "Y/N..." Her voice was occupied with bewilderment. Her younger sister separated herself from Demetri and stood up properly. As she did so, she buried her fingers in the fabric of his top, while he placed his hands on her upper arms, where he gently ran them up and down. Y/N accepted this gesture gratefully. Since she had almost fled the room when she saw only Carlisle, she was wearing nothing but underwear and a black nightgown. Lightly she leaned her back against the blond vampire's torso, taking in the warmth of his coat. Demetri who noticed this detached himself from Y/N took off his coat and placed it over his mate's shoulder. Then placed his hands again on her upper arms. Everyone observed the gesture with a smile, except for the Cullen family and Bella.
Bella watched as Y/N gratefully gave Demetri a kiss on the cheek and began shaking her head again. "No!" Confused, everyone looked at her. "You have to choose sister!" Bella emphasized the word 'sister' as if to remind Y/N that they were bound together by blood. "Between what?" Doubting her sister's mental state, Y/N raised an eyebrow. "Either you come back to Forks with me and the Cullens, or you stay here, with Demetri and the Volturi." She paused, put her hands to her chest, and continued talking, "But if you stay here, I will no longer see you as my sist..." Bella hadn't even finished her sentence when Y/N interrupted her. "Demetri and the Volturi." Bella dropped her arms to her side. "What?" "I choose Demetri and the Volturi." She repeated, more slowly so her sister would understand her better. This made every single Volturi grin as they looked at their future new member.
Before Bella could say anything further, Y/N turned her body entirely around to face Demetri. "Can you take me back to our room?" Demetri looked from her to Aro, who nodded with a smile. "Anything Ma princesse, will." In bridal style he picked her up in his arms, not wanting her to walk around in bare feet any longer and catch anything else, made his way past the Cullens. Where Bella realized once again that she had lost her sister to Demetri Volturi. Y/N didn't pay Bella a glance, burying her face in her mate's chest as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Well Bella that must have backfired!" Laughed Felix, making everyone except the Cullens laugh along with him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Are you sure you made the right decision?" Demetri whispered these words while looking straight ahead and holding his mate securely in his arms at the same time. Confused, she looked up at him. "What do you mean Demetri?" Without saying anything he opened the door of his room, stepped into it, closed his door and carefully put his mate down on his bed. "You should sleep a little more, the doctor and Carlisle are..." , he spoke while walking back to the door. But Y/N jumped up from the bed, dropping the coat from her mate on the floor, closing the distance between them with a few steps and grabbing Demetri's wrist. "Don't do this Demetri." He turned his head around to face her. "Don't do what." "Don't drop me. I won't regret choosing you. I won't miss my sister and the time in her shadow. I won't regret you and my love for you, not today, not in our eternity you promised me Demetri." Carefully she pulled him to her by his wrist. His body turned completely to her, his eyes were filled with fear and yet hope was also hidden in them. Y/N let go of his wrist, took another step towards him and placed her hands on his cheeks, like he always did with her. "I will never forgive myself for how many times I have rejected you for a promise that was unfair to both of us and if you let me, I will try to make this up to you for the rest of our time together." Demetri closed his eyes and leaned more into her touch. "That's a very long time Mon Amour." "That's exactly what I hope!" Smiling, Y/N placed her lips on her mate's. Demetri returned her kiss instantly, wrapping his arms around her waist to pull her closer. The kiss quickly turned into a passionate one as Y/N released her hands from his cheeks and let them disappear into Demetri's hair. When they both broke away from each other, their lips hovered just inches apart. "No more running away, no more hiding, I beg you!" Demetri looked at her pleadingly. Gently, she again placed her lips on his. Breaking away from him, she leaned her forehead against his and whispered, "I'm yours Demetri Volturi and I'm not afraid to show it to the daylight anymore!" They both started laughing and kissed again.

I'm creating a whole fanfic around my favorite characters from the Twilight saga, the Volturi. I think they are fascinating characters and ones that Stephanie didn't explore in depth. The fanfic is going to be about Alec x reader, but a reader who has a first and last name, since she is my beautiful creation: Cassandra Pavoularis, a human and Greek girl who had the luck (bad or good) to be Alec's designated partner. . The first three chapters are the meetings between the two of them, and that is what they will be called: “Encounters”. The rest of the story is about different missions that Cassandra and the rest of the guard undergo. Even though it's mostly going to be a CassandraxAlec ship, I want to explore what it's like to be part of the Volturi guard, how busy their days are, how they handle missions, what they are like as a group, between things. English is not my first language. The characters of Jane, Alec and Cassandra are between 15 and 17 years old, because these are the ages of the characters in the film adaptation and not the books.
Chapter 1: First encounter
Chapter 2: Second encounter
Chapter 3: Third encounter
I hope you like it 😊
