• A little too trusting and or hopeful at times. He thinks their is promise in lots of people. He’s definitely not super dense though. He’s able to catch on when something weird is going on with someone he trusts or likes.. it just might take him a tiny bit longer to believe it.

• (This part is already semi canon) HE LOVES RECORDS!!!! He mainly goes for old rock, 90s metal & rock, edm, hip hop, and stuff similar. He has a good amount of records & loves getting them as gifts (even if he doesn’t know the band beforehand. He likes trying new music and bands)

• Speaking of music, he likes tagging along with other GG members to parties. so fun fact about me, i have keratosis pilaris, otherwise known as kp (or chicken skin or strawberry skin, as some ppl refer to it as) and i HATE with a fiery passion the amount of times i've heard ppl talk about kp and how to get rid of it.

you ask any fucking person on the internet and they have about 1000 different creams, diys, exfoliants to use to get rid of kp. the thing is… KP DOES NOT GO AWAY. it is, for a lot of ppl, a lifelong skin TYPE (just looked that info up, btw. apparently kp is so common some doctors now refer to it as a type rather than a condition). so you can use everything under the sun and it won't go away. you are wasting your money buying shit that won't do dick all to help.

if you go to a dermatologist and they suggest something, obviously use that. i'm not a doctor, so don't listen to me lol but if you are using some random tiktok as a proof of what to buy for kp…. dear god please stop.

it's just so infuriating to me mostly bc a lot of ppl that talk about strawberry skin (which by the way i hate that ppl refer to it as that) don't even have actual kp, they just get irritated after shaving bc they didn't use enough moisturizer.

like… it's genetics. i got it bc my dad had it. my brother has it as well. it's not gonna go away. for some it can, but for most it's lifelong. it usually disappears or reduces a lot by the age of 30. and it's usually at it's worse during puberty. and let me tell you, both of these things are true. i used to be extremely embarrassed by my kp, especially since i didn't even know what it was and the only reason i found out about kp is bc of a fucking tumblr post. so not knowing why i had bumps all over my arms, shoulders, and legs made me feel really insecure. also i hated my body in general so this was just the added bonus. i get why ppl want to get rid of their kp, i was like that too. there are some days i consider buying all these fucking products that get recommended to me and seeing if any of them work.

but then i realize first and foremost, NO ONE CARES. omg, i'm telling you, the minute you realize no one cares as much as you care - your life will be golden. seriously, the shit you nitpick over is NEVER noticed by ppl that actually matter. bc if someone is gonna make fun of you bc of your skin type or whatever, fuck them. who cares what they have to say? (obviously i know that's easier said than done, but i'm telling you, the shit you worry about, the weird body angles you think you look bad in, NO ONE IS PAYING ATTENTION TO YOU LIKE THAT).

also, as someone who is getting closer to the age of 30, my kp has gone down a lot. it was at it's worse when i was going thru puberty, and now it's reduced a lot. i also exfoliate, which i think has helped. but i'm not going out of my to buy all this random shit that claims to help.

i think i'm just so sick of skin routine tiktok. like i don't mind watching ppl do their skin routines, it's fun and relaxing. but the minute ppl start recommending products, i'm out. during the pandemic, when that side of tiktok was blowing up, i listened to ppl talking about "oh the cleanser you should get is cetaphil and the retinol, bc you have to use a retinol, is the ordinary one."

cetaphil dried my skin out so much that i went from having oily skin to dry/combo skin. and the ordinary retinol breaks me out every. time.

i have a complete different set of shit i use now that were never recommended to me that i just used on a whim and they worked for me. but i'm not going out of my way to recommend it to everyone just bc it works for me. also i think what a lot of ppl need to realize is that there are TONS of ppl that just have good genetics. hell, even with my kp, i'm one of them. my skin breaks out occasionally, but i've never had consistent acne. and really i'm the only one in my family that's ever been like that. but bc i'm lucky in that regard, half the products i use wouldn't have worked for someone with acne prone skin. and that's how it is with a lot of products: a lot of the times they work for random influencers bc they just genetically have decent skin.

slight side note but still very much on topic: i've made the active decision to stop worrying about shit that i never worried about before. like, i'm not about to start growing new insecurities just as my old ones are slowly dwindling away. i'm not gonna worry about something that was never a problem before just bc someone else talks about their experience of struggling with this insecurity.

the reason i bring this up is bc a tiktok that came across my fyp was talking about this body wash that women were using. this body wash apparently lightens ppl skins. the only reason one lady found out is bc she went to get a brazilian wax, and the person that was waxing her asked if she was bleaching her asshole bc it was all one color (and apparently this woman had been going to this person for years so… she would notice this lol) and that's how she found out that the body wash was lightening her darker areas. and now, ppl in the replies were recommending to use it in their downstairs area (and just overall anywhere they think their skin looks too dark) to brighten up their skin.

(very long but very important post, sorry in advance) hi uh. i know a lot of my recent posts have been more political than usual but um cope bcus its not gonna stop!

it's more important than ever to deprogram ourselves and confront internal biases based on culturally christian & capitalistic society. duh. i see a lot of people saying this but not many giving examples or advice on how to actually go about doing so, other than just "do the research urself." so i'm trying to share some resources to maybe help people get started. if you take the time to check these out and find them helpful, i urge you to share them with your friends and family as well.

second thought and genetically modified skeptic on youtube have some fucking amazing videos deconstructing christian and capitalistic ideas that most ppl probably don't even realize are ingrained so heavily into our society and are reinforced in almost every single piece of media, like, ever. both of them cite reliable sources and include links to all of them in their video descriptions. they explain things thoroughly and make it easy to understand (also they both put really good captions on all of their videos, but do sometimes reference images on screen without explicitly describing them or providing alt text, though these usually aren't essential to the point of the video). and remember to be critical of ALL media, including the channels i've linked and other anti capitalist or anti (cultural) christianity media. the channels i've linked are both run by cishet white abled men, and they're bound to make mistakes.

so anyways, i think a lot of ppl see criticism about cultural christianity/capitalism and assume it doesn't apply to them. myself included. i am an indigenous + asian queer disabled neurodivergent person and i consider myself an anarchopunk communist. i've done hours upon hours of research about this stuff. this does not mean i am immune to propaganda and internal bias, as much as i liked to think i was for a very long time. people always ask how they can help, how they can contribute, how they can possibly make any sort of an effect when they're just one person, who probably can't afford to donate large amounts of money to the people who Can take things into their own hands. the most important thing you can do is educate yourself. which, by the way, costs nothing but your time, and is often really interesting and enlightening. this doesn't mean you have to read depressing stories about people who are less fortunate (though i encourage you to do that as well). i understand news fatigue, hopelessness, and the want to distance yourself from social media as a means of self care. educating yourself doesn't have to be draining and emotionally demanding.

this has kinda turned into an essay but i wanna end it by saying the thing that prompted this was something as simple as that post saying "when are we going to overthrow the government," with a reply saying "y'all couldn't even boycott chick-fil-a." regardless of whether or not you still eat chick-fil-a, there are countless other companies that are much worse that we don't even bat an eye at. i haven't eaten chick-fil-a since i first found out about their homophobic shit, and i thought that gave me some moral high ground to stand on, despite the fact that i still ordered clothes from companies like fucking shein. i know not everyone can afford to stop buying from unethical but more affordable and accessible companies, i can't either. but everyone can at least be aware of the affect these things have, and spread awareness about it. i can do better, and so can you.

SUDDEN SHIFT OF TOPIC! i am autistic obv which probably plays into why i view things so analytically. im not an emotional person at all despite how my typing style may be. i have a generally detached view of the world which definitely translates to my writing. but another thing i havent talked abt is im severely dyslexic. like bad bad. and it makes writing extraordinarily difficult because it heavily effects the way i think and how i put words together in a negative way. its like everything is completely disconnected and i have to figure out a way to put it together in a way that makes sense hence my sometimes over-convulted word choice, blunt writing and a distinct lack of pretty sentences, and the god awful amount of commas and run on sentences

it leads to me struggling really hard with getting the right words. i dont get writers block but i do get a sentence that looks wrong and leaves me sitting confused for 30 minutes to months at a time.

SO what im trying to say is im very. unconfident in my ability to words things in a way thats clear and well strung together ESPECIALLY in rants like this. i dont know what to do about that but im just putting it out there.

but as ive said before these fics arent about the characters as characters but also it is but also the main part about them are the themes. the themes and the meanings and the psychological aspect behind their actions and the utter despair john goes through. im not writing these bc 'oh! this would b hot' cause i could go that whenever. i have a million other stories like that. im writing it because i have an abstract concept i want to look into and im simply using these characters to play the part and explore it

Trying to figure out why I have such a hard time with like.. manifest ur reality, just live ur life how u want to, be positive be grateful and things will work out.. It might be toxic positivity on its face sometimes, but maybe not fully.. In terms of things "working out", I think we've set up this system so that, for neurotypical ppl mostly, u can get ahead eventually. Especially if u try a good amount. And other privileges like being attractive help a ton. And here in the US being white helps which is fucked. Or being/looking healthy. Privileges help. Also the system keeps some people down. But that doesn't mean the whole "manifest" thing doesn't work, both can be true. I just think focusing on a goal helps. But sometimes it is actually pretty impossible. Life isn't a fairytale or movie, meaning there doesn't have to be a happy ending guaranteed. But we live like there will be. In America we definitely live like "temporarily embarrassed millionaires". Possibly especially ambitious and proud creative ppl. Like just wait til my thing pops. But for most it never does, and that's fine/normal, sometimes their fault/my fault sometimes not. It's case by case, and also hard to measure. It will likely not work out for most of us in any inkling of the way we hoped. But within this system most of us will likely at least get by. I do think, again, there's some retconning that happens where after the fact one can go, ah what I really wanted was this, my original goal was misguided and I actually wanted what's attainable and ahead now.. Maybe that's true, maybe it's a way of coping. I don't think mainly intent or prayer or manifesting can sway things unfortunately. You're most likely left to the way things shake out. And you're mkst likely guaranteed a bit of some things, definitely not everything, and there's easily the possibility you'll get super fucked. There are so many ways to get fucked life-wise, medical-wise, etc. Ugh this shit is so not a movie, I'm sick of thinking of myself as the future star like that is a mental illness. I am nothing, I am nobody, that is fine, so is everyone else, normal people. We don't have to be celebrities and millionaires. Well, we may strive for that and idolize that beginning at teenhood because we realize it means being materially and physically comfortable, in usually secure excess. Why the TV was still on was a mystery to you, you’d stopped listening a long time ago. Your partner besides you noticed, and you felt the hand around your shoulder tighten his grip a little, bringing you out of your thoughts.

“You’ve been staring at that thing for the past hour, biting at your nails.” he said in a worried tone. “That’s enough. We’re going to bed.”

I feel like post-series Lance tries his best to be as observant as Allura and tries to understand others better-- but it didn't take a genius or incredible empath to know why your eyes looked like they were about to overflow at the sight of the news.

Having a sensible heart, I feel like both you and hunk would struggle a little about maintaining a healthy distance with current events.

Though overtime he would understand that keeping in touch with everything that’s going on is important, but not at the sake of burning out

His best bet, to him, to pull you out of a such a dark space is with comfort food

Your turned down the volume from the news, let your head fall backwards and brought up your forearm over your closed eyes. It felt warm and made it you realize that you had probably been staring very intensely at the screen as a wave of comfort hit your eyes the moment they were drowned in darkness. Letting out a deep breath, you stilled and let yourself bask in your thoughts until a familiar voice brought you back.

“Maybe a little bit more sugar? No, then it would be disbalanced. The base is already so sweet-- Ah, I have to take the cupcakes out or else they might get burned!”

He turned on the machine after dropping a drop of dye to make it your favorite color and within a few minutes the icing was finished. Hunk scooped up a small amount on his finger and brought it to his lips and nod.

“Wanna taste?” he asked you, his finger dipping into the icing.

A mischievous grin spread on your features as you took his wrist and let his finger fall on your tongue, the sweetness quickly spreading through your mouth. The yellow paladin shivered as you let his digit hang in your mouth for longer than necessary, letting out a satisfied hum when you returned it to him.

She knew what could be fixed, she knew how to fix it but this meant she was also aware of how long such a transition would take

I think Pidge would be similar to Shiro: whatever she remembers that helps you be at ease, she would defect to that in hopes to maybe distract you for a while.

I don’t think Pidge is a very touchy person either, so if she reaches out to you _physically_ in worry, it’s a very clear sign she’s serious/anxious

I feel like she would reach out in other ways and then if she knew you were in a specific state of mind where touch was not useful, or if she just also wanted to try things out lol

As you watched the twisted information that was being shared on screen, another message caught your attention. Rather than a small red icon in the corner, a small window appeared in the middle of your computer screen.

so i guess I'm doing this again.

this is more of a repeat of everything I said in part one but with more sobbing and coherent words.

Jade Leech, Octavinelle's vice dorm leader and the twin brother of Floyd. Many might say that Jade is better than Floyd, although that may seem true to people who don't know him well enough, some people were smart enough to know that Jade was just as bad.

Despite being so fucking shady and nasty, I couldn't help but slowly learn how to love his character. His shadiness is only a part of his charm ❤️ I mean— don't you want that? Don't you just want to look at him and wonder what the fuck is going through his mind right now?

He could be either plotting murder or thinking about tonight's dinner and I would still find his shady expression 🥺 oddly attractive to say the least. I'm being weirdly serious here and typing in lowercase so in a few bullets, expect me to go feral once again.

His eyes are gorgeous. I don't know about you but I get mesmerized everytime I look at them, I swear I could drown in them and never want air ever again. His extreme love for mushrooms is probably his comic relief so it doesn't completely make him seem like a shady bitch in the game- it's a surprise as to how cute and vulnerable he can get when he talks about or does something related to his precious fungi. It even goes as far as to make him completely lose his sense of surroundings, which is really rare for someone as observant as him- and usually dangerous sjfbjdbf. It's also EXTREMELY CUTE as to how they made Jade someone who really likes mountains- he even goes as far as to found his own club to appreciate them!!

He has pretty deft hands, being able to create a terrarium and care for it as a hobby is applaudable- not everyone has the ability to do just that, you'd have to be able to be extremely precise and careful, and add a little bit of extreme determination to the mix. He would probably smell like mud from all the time he spends in the greenhouse, and stays up late because of creating terrariums. It shows us that he isn't completely a shitty eel who collects dirt on people as his job and I think that's pretty fucking cute not gonna lie!

There was one voice line of him mentioning that he likes gazing at stars, which was completely unexpected for me! He didn't seem like the type to gaze up at the stars and just- watch! Though I expect him to be always alone whenever he does that- he isn't exactly the most approachable person in NRC, people tend to avoid the Leech twins because of Floyd- mostly. People are just scared of them and I don't think Jade has any friends aside from Azul and Floyd. And I don't think either of them would be willing to stay with him to do just that, Floyd's excuse would be because "it's boring~!" and Azul's would be "I have much more important things to do." And I think that's pretty fucking sad.

a question about AC... i read the article you posted and now have a better understanding of the harmful effects of AC on not only the environment but individuals as well. as someone who rents and also lives in georgia with hot, humid summers - how would you suggest cutting down on AC use? like a gradual decline? or cold turkey and just running fans? i think youve mentioned you live in florida, so since we have similar summers, i’d like to know how you keep relatively cool because i definitely want to get away from AC use! i am on several medications that decrease my heat tolerance, and of course i dont want to hurt myself, but with this new information, i’d like to do something to “do my part”

Gradual decline. Cold turkey never ever is a good method for anything. The brain does not do well to sudden and abrupt changes, it's not nice.

First off, you mention being on meds so like statement: I'm aactually not encouraging you to do this, I'm not a doctor, and I make these suggestions for abled bodies- anyone with a disability/chronic illness is excused bc they are the exact people who should be getting exceptions and or the people the energy use is FOR instead of ppl who don't literally need it.

Secondly, the 'do my part' thing... I want to be clear that I don't talk about this in the sense that I think individuals are responsible for climate change-- but it is harm reduction AND MOST IMPORTANTLY I think that, for reasons specific to the individual's experience on this earth it is useful to see what one can do to live a life in line with their values and as divested as possible from energies and institutions they do not align with.

So for instance I won't buy any new clothes made of non-natural materials, I keep my AC minimal, I don't buy from Amazon. I don't think these things specifically do much at all about climate change, but I also have cut my reliance on things foisted on this culture bu toxic institutions and that matters.

With that being said, yes, it's a gradual thing. We are in more or less the same climate. What I do is this: Spring and Fall I turn my AC off w whenever I can- generally the rule is that as long as leaving it off doesn't accumulate heat or humidity inside which of course is Not Good, I leave it off during these seasons. In practice it jusst means there are certain days where having the AC off and the windows open is fine, and nights where the temp is stable and low enough that having it off works then, too. In the Winter I do not turn the heat on during the day since you can just layer up, but we turn it on low at night so we're not tense and cold at night. ALternatively we could use a space heater but we gave the one we had to someone else lol.

In the Summer the AC is on 79 during the day and 75 at night. We go outside a lot to get used to dealign with the heat- like a 40 minute walk outside almost every day, going to parks on the weekends when we can etc. In my car I usually leave the AC off but if it's on I turn it on low with the lowest amount of cooling. Bc I don't use AC much, the lowest amount is usually enough to make me feel "wow, cool!". I also save on gas since it's not blasting.

Also really important though is how I dress, and I don't tink that's talked about enough. If I'm gonna leave my house and I'm not exercising I wear crop tops/cholis with long skirts or over dresses of light, cotton layers and a veil/scarf of cotton or thin cotton jersey. This keeps heat away from my skin while allowing my skin to breathe and cool itself with perspiration and when I walk into th sun if I'm not wearing a wide brimmed hat (which I usually am) I use the veil to keep the sun off of my neck and head.

Again, when it’s hot and I’m outside I *literally* do not allow the sun to touch my skin. Think of how ppl who live in deserts dress. Yeah. And since it’s humid I make sure the fabrics are light, I keep layers away from my kidneys and I’m generally fine-

note about the kidneys if you’re cold you wanna make SURE your kidneys are covered snugly, if you’re hot you do NOT want fabric compressed around them.

One of my pet peeves about western culture is how the fashion of it is usually an affront to the environment. Weird bulky fabrics, lack of flowing layers, or too many layers in general- people who live in hot climates globally don't fucking dress like that! lol. Sidenote polyester? It may not wrinkle but it's NOTORIOUSLY non-breathable, making you feel even hotter.

The average person here wears like jean shorts and a polo top both of which are heavy af, and then MAYBE a baseball cap which does nothing, actually to keep the sun off of the sides of your face or your neck (where your blood is!!! so you don't want it getting hot!) and then goes 'shit it's hot outside'. Meanwhile as you probably know, ppl in South Asia....? Not dressed like that lol.
