Ominis Gaunt x reader
Summary - Request for “Idk if this has been done already but I have this prompt where MC is changing and doesn't mind Ominis in the room (cause you know....blind). He hears the shuffling of clothes and asks "Ermmm MC ... What are you doing?". They reply " Changing, duh." MC is oblivious, doesn't see what's wrong with it and poor Ominis is there fumbling with his words, face red and lecturing MC even though he's blind they shouldn't do that.”
Word Count - 671
Warnings - none
A/N - short and too the point fluff
Ominis had just shown up to your room as planned since you were going out to Hogsmeade together today. You had been sitting on your bed with a book, distracted from the time and realized you forgot to get ready for the outing.
"Hey Ominis!" You greet him as if you had totally remembered he was showing up, hopping up you lead him over to have a seat on your bed.
"Y/N, are you excited to try out the new sweets today? I've heard they were imported." He flashed a bright smile at the thought.
You loved seeing him so animated, but that gave you all the more reason to hurry and get changed so you could head out.
"I am, I hope they have some of those cinnamon crumblies I've heard Natsai mention before," your voice was muffled as you struggled to tug your shirt over your head, the buttons only half undone.
Ominis cleared his throat in confusion. He could hear what sounded like clothes hitting in the floor and you stomping around the room in a rush.
"Y/N? What on earth are you doing?"
You froze on the spot, your shirt lay in the floor as you had been searching for your another in your drawers. You looked back at him and his gaze was fixed on you even though he wasn't actually witnessing you being half dressed.
"Um. I'm changing?"
You had time to take in his expression of shock before you continued your rummaging, not the least bit concerned about his presence.
"What?!" He closed his eyes for your sake, his face as red as beets.
"You — if you weren't ready you didn't have to let me in."
You shrugged pulling on your sweater and tugging off the bottom of your uniform as well. You laughed when you looked back at him, the color extending all the way to the tips of his ears.
"I can't really be indecent if you can't see it, can I?"
He tripped over his words, trying to come up with a reasonable reply, swiping his hand over his face.
"I still know what you're doing. I don't ever see anything, but I — that doesn't mean I can control my thoughts now that I know."
His thoughts were definitely going wild in his head, imaging what you had taken on or off at a given time. Had you been missing clothes when you led him through the door?
"It's not appropriate to not at least warn me," he concluded with a huff, crossing his arms.
You tried to take him seriously, but the anger he was trying to portray didn't lend itself to the embarrassment he already had written all over him. You finished putting on the rest of your clothes before you walked over to him, standing in front of where he perched on your bed.
You placed your hands on his shoulders and sighed, "I'm sorry, Ominis. I didn't mean to be rude."
He opened his mouth to reply, but you cut him off before he had the chance to speak, "Next time, I'll tell you every time I'm taking something off."
He let his mouth fall open at your words, pushing you back from him to stand up.
"Next time?! There shouldn't be a next time. I mean, not that I — I —" You had officially rendered him speechless, he felt he was talking himself into the ground and nothing he could say to redeem the situation and get the lecture through your head.
"You're a bad influence, Y/N." He leaned his head up against a post of your bed in defeat, "Are you at least finished now?"
"Yes, Ominis." You grabbed for your robes off of the wall, "I am completely decent and ready to go treat your sweet tooth."
He turned around, attempting to recover the situation and return his focus to the candy, he smiled once more. You pinched his cheek before he swatted your hand away and hurried you out the door.

this might be a weird ask but what abt a short blurb where a younger reader is getting flirted with by an older man at the Hard Deck and Jake who's been trying to get with her for ages comes in to "save the day and get rid of the creep" but turns out that the older man is actually her husband and non other than ssa aaron hotchner
sorry if it's kinda weird I just thought it was funny😭😭
THIS IS SO SILLY AND FUNNY AND GOOD THANK YOU <3333
--
Jake Seresin is undeniably cocky, but he doesn't often go too far. He's snapped once or twice, but comes away from it a changed man, and stays on the lookout for any ways he can redeem himself.
Having pushed once or twice a little too hard over the counter of a bar, he's been on the prowl ever since for men who haven't picked up the same knowledge as him. The Hard Deck is a perfect place to exercise his keen observational skills, and there's an older man sitting at the counter whos been there for almost an hour.
Usually patrons mingle, but his ass has been on the stool for far too long, his eyes glued to your figure as you work. He's not exactly confused by the man's infatuation with you, as he shares the same feeling, but you keep having to cut off whatever he's saying to serve someone another drink, and Jake thinks that by now, this middle aged douche should have figured out that now isn't the time to chat.
You're clearly strained trying to keep up with both your job and conversation, and the next time someone cuts in to ask you for a beer, Jake sees your eyes pinch shut in frustration. You turn around as happy as can be, always cheery for customer service, but your shoulder sag when you complete the man's request, and the man at the counter doesn't give you two seconds to recover before he's blabbering on again.
Jake's made up his mind.
He strides to the counter in long, confident steps, leaning over opposite the man to call for your attention.
"Y/N, darlin'?"
You cast a tense glance over your shoulder, features relaxing when you see Jake, "Hang on, Lieutenant."
You seem relieved when you turn to face him, a tired smile on your face and his usual order already in your hand, "A refill?"
"That'll do," He grins, that charming expression that he's hoping is wooing the pants off of you, "Hey, honey," He leans in slightly, lowering his voice so that the man subtly observing you two from behind doesn't hear him, "That guy talkin' your ear off?"
A sly grin flits over your face, "It's okay, Hangman. I'll let him."
"You don't have to." Jake presses, eyes clouded with worry, 'If you're trying to make a tip off of him or something, I'm sure it's not worth hearing about what bars were like back in his day. Hell, I'll pay you to let me chuck him out."
"I promise you!" You laugh, "I'm okay, Jake. Thank you for worrying about me."
"M'always gonna," He admits, face gently curved in a frown as you lean back, no longer whispering in hushed tones, "Just let me know if you need me, darlin'."
"Will do," You grin, "But Jake? Tone down the pet names around my husband, would you? I don't want him getting jealous."
Jake blinks.
Jake blinks again.
Then casts his gaze over your shoulder at the older man, who's sitting there nursing his drink with a poorly concealed smirk, his eyes downcast to avoid Jake's.
"That guy's your husband?" Jake verifies, heat at his cheeks and stomach at his feet, "You're married?"
"I don't wear my ring 'cause it gets nasty in the dishwater," You lament, "'Thought you knew, Jake."
"I did not know." Jake nods slowly, gnawing at the inside of his cheek, "Well- uh, alrighty then. Get back to your little chit-chat."
"Thank you for the offer," You call after him as he pushes off of the counter, even if your words fall on deaf, mortified ears, "I really appreciate it!"
"Sorry, Aaron," You grin bashfully at your husband, turning back to take his large hands into yours, "He's like that with everyone. Real sweet guy, just a little forward. He thought you were bothering me."
"It's okay," Aaron hums, leaning across the bar to kiss you, something you normally wouldn't allow during your shift.
"I liked it more than I thought I would," Aaron muses, and you ghost your thumb over the wedding band on his ring finger, "Hearing you tell him I was your husband."
"I don't think he liked it," You nearly cringe at the memory, "Hopefully things aren't awkward."
"Mm, they might be." Aaron chuckles, locking eyes with a dark-haired woman who looks a little bit like she might want to kill him, "I think he told his friends."

If you're a Damon or Katherine fan, I really don't recommend you read this. But if you dislike them as much as me, go ahead.
I was (stupidly) one of the few people that chose to think Damon didn't rape Caroline, because Pl*c said he didn't. And like, I prefer to believe that, not because I like Damon, I despise him, but because the amount of sexual abuse this show has is disgusting.
Tyler trying to rape Vicky, Damon raping Caroline, Katherine raping Stefan, etc. And damn, perhaps even when Klaus made out with Caroline while he was in Tyler's body.
Do I think he would have slept with her? No, but the fact that Caroline had already took her shirt off and Klaus didn't stop her until later always felt off for me. I don't think he would have raped her, at all. I don't see any of the Mikaelson as the rape type, perhaps Mikael, but not even then.
But anyways, while scrolling through Google, I decided to search how Julie actually "confirmed" Damon didn't rape Caroline, and honestly it's just pathetic.
Tumblr media
What does this even mean? Caroline herself said he abused her, AND fed on her. I mean, the quote is literally "I remember how you manipulated me. You pushed me around, abused me, erased my memories. Fed on me."
Yes, Caroline consented to sex the first time, but after that? He fed on her, and raped her as well.
And Katherine raped Stefan as well, I'm pretty sure. When she began compelling him, to "go on exactly like they wanted", he literally wasn't mentally able to consent to a romantic relationship with her, less alone sexual. And Stefan was 17, exactly the same age Caroline was when Damon raped her.
So, if I'm correct, Katherine raped Stefan, Damon raped Caroline and Andy, Tyler tried to force himself on Vicky and I think it's implied Stefan is a rapist as well in a flashback, but I'm not too sure because the last time I saw TVD (other than seasons 3/4) was in 2018, right when it ended, but the whole thing is him being seen with naked women and blood all over them while he had his humanity off I think. Anyway, disgusting.
I don't think the writers intented for them to be considered rapists, especially if we take into account the three of them are fan favorite. But it was 2009, a lot of things were taken lightly and I'm 100% sure TVD wouldn't have made it past the pilot if it had been streamed in 2020.
And yeah, every single character is a murderer on this show, but there's a difference between them. Both are traumatic and both are unforgiving, and in real life no one wants to be through that (I've seen people compare Elena and Caroline's trauma, her being raped and the first being abused by Klaus, which it's disgusting, there is no need to compare them). But if you're gonna bring one of them to fiction, always chose murder. Because in murder there may be a "redeeming" quality that explains why you did it, but rape? It's completely disgusting, it's awful and there is nothing that will ever excuse taking someone's free will like that.
But anyways: The Vampire Diaries is racist, rapist and a lot of things I'm for sure forgetting now. It's really hard to be a fan of this show sometimes, but I still like it, though I'm more of a fan of The Originals. And that show has problems of it's own, considering it made Elijah look racist and made Klaus sympathize with a group of vampires that the show recognized as nazis.

Following a Siren (Eddie Munson x Reader) [18+]
Summary: Corroded Coffin desperately needs a singer to help balance out their first ever album. Lucky for them, Eddie shares a hall with a certified siren.
Word Count: 2.3k
Warnings: 18+ only because i went a little crazy with perv!eddie (i just love him ok). i might write a second part where he gets to live his little fantasy... 👀 sappy romcom shit that i hate watching / reading but have no problem writing
Author’s Note: aged everyone up to their mid-late 20s when everybody is out of hawkins and happy. posting this unedited because it’s 4am and i have to at least try to get some sleep. inspired by my own experience singing this song in my high school choir (it’s so much fun the chorus parts are better than the solos) and amber riley’s performance which is the only redeeming quality of the glee version.
Tumblr media
"I'm telling you, man, it's not gonna work. We need a chick."
Eddie glances between Gareth and Jeff, arms braced against the back of a chair, lips pursed together in frustration.
It's been hours and they still can't get any of the harmonies right. They're so close, but the song is just... unmemorable. A song easily and readily skipped, when it has the potential to be a totally amazing, stop-what-you're-doing, turn-the-volume-up, cream-in-your-pants showstopper. And Corroded Coffin needs it to be a showstopper; this is their first album - recorded in an actual studio with professional equipment and a genuine producer -and they can't blow their one chance at glory by having it flop.
But Gareth is right - it isn't going to work. They need vocals in a much higher range to balance out their lower tones. Unfortunately, they know about as many women between them as they did in high school.
"We can't afford to pay anyone," Jeff states. "Why don't we just scrap it?"
"We can't scrap it," Eddie quips. "It's too damn good. It just needs a little push."
"Could we do the harmony with instrumentals?" Gareth suggests. "You could just sing with the guitar."
"Nah, that wouldn't have the right umph," Eddie disagrees. "A vocal harmony would smash way harder."
"So we're stuck."
Eddie sighs, raking a hand through his hair.
"... I'll figure something out," he decides. "Just gimme some time. We're gonna do this if it fucking kills me."
Tumblr media
Eddie huffs as he throws himself down onto his couch, snapping the tab on a beer can as he takes a long drag from a freshly rolled joint.
He's totally fucked. There's no way in hell he can find someone on short notice, with no budget, to carry the missing harmony. Nothing he has scrawled in the various notebooks stashed around his studio apartment is anywhere near finished, and even if it were, it wouldn't live up to what they already have.
Nobody will ever hear the song the way it's supposed to be heard. The thought crushes him.
The chime of keys and tread of boots echoes from the hallway, distracting Eddie from his visions of doom; you've returned home for the day. He closes his eyes, letting his mind wander to you - how you smiled sleepily at him this morning when you left for work, how pretty you looked in the dress you wore, how your lips were chapped and split, darkened with dry blood towards the center, how sweet your groggy laughter sounded when he said something stupid in passing. You've lived across the hall from him for the better part of a year - sharing the space above a convenience store, where you run into each other constantly - and his thoughts have been consumed by you since the day you moved in.
His cock twitches in his jeans, perking up at the images of you flitting around in his skull. Shame starts to rise in his stomach, but that doesn't stop him from going completely hard. He sighs.
C'mon man, don't be gross.
But it's too late. He's already relapsed into his favorite fantasy about you; inviting you backstage after one of his gigs and fucking you so hard you can't speak, skirt hiked up, panties pushed aside, makeup smeared and running as he drives you toward a messy, mewling orgasm. Holding you against his chest and kissing your lips, your face, your neck as you ride out the high.
His hand is in his pants before he can think better of it.
He's barely two strokes in when a gorgeous sound breaks him from his sexed-out haze. It starts as a simple chime, floating on the air as effortlessly as dust, before slowly growing louder, more joyous, every note driven with the force of a hurricane.
It's you.
You're singing.
And you're incredible.
Eddie springs to his feet, jeans still completely undone. He rushes across the hall, tapping frantically at the door to your apartment; your singing stops, and he almost regrets interrupting you for the loss.
The door swings open and you give him a once over, smirking amusedly when you clock his open fly, boxers tugged down to reveal the tiniest patch of his pubic hair.
"Eddie, I'm flattered," you tease, "but a date first would be nice."
"Shit, fuck, sorry."
He stuffs himself back into his pants, grinning bashfully before clearing his throat, leaning an arm against the doorframe as casually as he can. You can't help but giggle, having spent enough time with him that you'd developed an ever-growing crush on the eccentric, well-meaning man.
"What's up?" you ask.
"My band," he tells you. "We desperately need a singer and I think you're perfect."
He pauses for a moment, thinking over what he's said.
"As a singer!" he quickly clarifies. "As a singer."
You smile, biting your lip and entirely unable to stop the warmth that creeps across your cheeks. The way you gaze up through your lashes at Eddie makes him weak in the knees.
"I haven't done any serious singing since high school," you admit. "And never anything like you guys do. Plus... aren't you the vocalist?"
Eddie scoffs, waving away your statement with a slender, ring-adorned hand.
" 'Vocalist' is a stretch," he chuckles. "All I do is carry a tune. And it wouldn't be just you, anyway, we'd sing together. We can cover up each other's mistakes."
You sigh, still not entirely convinced.
"... I don't know. Like I said, I've never performed in a band before and I just... I would feel bad if I brought you guys down. I'm really not that good."
Eddie furrows his brow in confusion, craning his neck toward you as if you just told him Ozzy was a mediocre musician. He raises a hand to your forehead.
"Are you feeling okay?" he questions. "Your voice is fucking amazing! Why would I run over here with my pants down if it wasn't?"
He dramatically falls onto his knees, taking one of your hands in both of his as he fixes you with a pleading gaze. His thumbs softly stroke at your knuckles, causing an involuntary chill to run down your spine.
"Fair maiden from across the hall," he laments, "gentle lady with the voice of a siren, do us the honor of gracing us with your divine beauty. For my gratitude, I shall henceforth keep the volume on my stereo at a reasonable level, and shower you with the finest tributes of pizza and iced coffee."
You laugh, far too endeared by his antics for your own good.
"Get up, you goon," you playfully scold. "I'll come to your practice tomorrow for an audition. How about that?"
"Yes!"
Eddie springs to his feet, wrapping you in his arms and spinning you with joy.
"Thank you," he says as he sets you down. "Thank you thank you thank you thank you, you're a fucking life saver. You won't regret it, I promise."
He plants a kiss on your cheek, leaving you brimming with butterflies as he darts back into his apartment. He pops his head back out a moment later, phone in hand.
"What do you want on your pizza?"
Tumblr media
At promptly six o’clock the next evening, you climb the steps to the little apartment in downtown Indianapolis that serves as Corroded Coffin’s makeshift studio. It’s an attic space, with slanted ceilings and wood floors padded with dirty, worn-out flea market rugs; posters featuring the likes of Sabbath and Megadeath line the walls, and most of the light is provided by a little circular window and a string of white Christmas bulbs strung along the edge of the room. The air is heavy with the scent of cannabis and incense. You’re reminded of Eddie’s apartment as you step inside, a fact you hate to admit calms your nerves a little bit.
“Alright.”
Eddie claps his hands together, grinning at you with his guitar slung over his shoulder.
“What beautiful sounds will you be blessing us with today, gorgeous?”
You purse your lips, taking a deep breath as you try to remind yourself that you’re good at this - there’s no reason to be so anxious.
“You guys know any Queen?” you ask, sounding meeker than you intend.
“Of course we do!” Gareth chirps from behind the drum set.
“How about you just start singing, yeah?” Jeff chimes in. “We’ll join in. We do better by ear, anyway.”
You nod, stepping up to the microphone as Eddie presses the start button on the tape recorder in the corner of the room. You clear your throat, inhaling slowly, holding the breath for a moment in your stomach before letting it go in a light, tentative note.
“Can... an-y-bo-dy... find me-e-e-e... somebody to-o...”
Eddie strums the last note on his guitar, making you smile.
As you start up the first verse, Jeff and Gareth follow your lead, backing up your low, contemplative words with matching instrumentals. To your surprise, Eddie takes over the choral accompaniment, hitting each note as if he’s listened to the song a million times over; his voice compliments yours so well you sound make a symphony together, the vibration of your harmonies causing chills to rush through your body like an electric shock.
“I get down on my knees and I start to pray ‘til the tears run down from my eyes!”
Your confidence builds with the song, each note you sing becoming a little more soulful, a little more impassioned as the verse presses on. You lose yourself in the music, having always loved this song and how weightless it makes you feel. Your eyes are locked on Eddie, swaying in time with each strum of his pick across the guitar strings, consumed by the starstruck look in his eye and the expert movement of his ringed fingers. It’s like magic, how enchantingly beautiful you sound together.
“I try and I try and I try-y-y! But e-e-e-ev’rybody wants to put me down; they say I’m goin’ crazy! They say I gotta lotta water in my brain; I got no common sense; I got nobody left to believe!”
“YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YE-EAH!”
The final throes of the verse are shouted, Jeff and Gareth playing off your enthusiasm with as much excitement as if they were playing to a packed stadium. You bang your head with each beat, thrashing with their heavy rendition of the song, thoroughly enjoying every second. Your voices fade into the shredding wail of Eddie’s guitar, hammered out into an exquisite solo that leads into the final verse.
You reach your favorite part of the song; when all goes silent, the slow climb up to the huge finale. Jeff starts you off, his powerful bass rumbling over the speakers.
“Find, me, somebody to lo-ove...”
Then comes Gareth’s baritone, picking up the harmony in just the right spot. Eddie follows soon after in his achingly handsome tenor, and you fall in line behind him, uttering out the quiet pieces of the harmony that many miss in the chorus.
“Me somebody, to, lo-ove...”
Eddie’s voice breaks out of the din.
“Somebody!”
You fire back, hitting the high note without flinching.
“Somebody!”
“Somebody!”
“Somebody!”
You shoot back and forth at each other, your higher voice countering Eddie’s lower one in playful symmetry, until you reach the end of the short duel.
“Somebody find me somebody to love! Can anybody find me-e-e-e...?”
The men stop playing, pausing with rapt attention on you, anticipating how you’ll drive through the song’s climax. You take a deep breath, entirely unafraid of what you’re about to do.
“Somebody to-o-o... lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ove!”
The notes soar from your chest, deafening everything else in the room - hell, in the world, probably. Eddie is the first to cheer, bounding up and down in uncontained joy at just how powerful you are; the other men follow suit, picking up where they left off a few beats too late from being so swept up in your tidal wave of sound.
Eddie finishes out the song gazing at you with dreamy, sparkling eyes, his chest fluttering as you look back at him and match his voice in perfect harmony. You really are a siren, and he’ll follow you to the depths of the sea if it means you’re the last sound ringing in his ears.
Tumblr media
All is calm as you follow Eddie out onto the street a few hours later, stepping into the late night cold of the bustling city.
He turns to you, staring at you for a moment in giddy silence. Then, he lets out a celebratory shout as he wraps his arms around you, lifting you off the pavement and twirling you around. You laugh, your own arms falling around his neck, blushing furiously as he paints your face with kisses.
“You. Are. Amazing!” Eddie cheers as he sets you back onto solid ground. “Oh my fucking god, that was incredible! You saved us! You beautiful, divine, ethereal goddess! My fucking heroine!”
He captures you in another crushing hug, lips planting themselves firmly on your cheek once more.
“I think I’m in love with you.”
At first, you think he’s joking. But the breathless way he says it, the starry look in his wide, childlike eyes, the tender grip of his hand at your waist, all convey the truth. And you can’t lie to yourself - watching him play, hearing his voice entwined with yours, sharing the intimacy of song... you’re pretty certain you’re in love with him, too.
“... Kiss me,” you whisper.
“... What?”
You giggle, his dumbstruck expression the most adorable thing you think you’ve ever seen.
“Kiss me,” you repeat. “Baby, pull the string...”
A smile curls across Eddie’s face, his grip on you tightening.
“Did you... just quote Van Halen at me?”
You nod.
“Oh yeah,” he decides. “Comin’ in hot.”
You giggle, smiling into the kiss as he presses his lips to yours, leaning his whole body into the movement until you’re flush against him. God, his lips are plush, and he tastes deliciously like his last cigarette, and his chest is hard and broad, and he looms above you like some sort of ivory tower, captivating and unmovable. You clutch at the lapels of his leather jacket, never wanting this kiss to end.
Eddie hums softly as you pull apart, his eyes remaining closed for a moment as if he’s still savoring your lips. When he opens them, they’re lidded, lost within yours as he holds you in a lovers’ embrace on the corner of a busy street.
“Let’s get you home,” he murmurs. “Then we can make some more music together.”

The problem with Endeavour's redemption arc isn't actually Endeavour
It's literally everyone else. I'll be honest: I hated Endeavour since the first time he opened his ridiculously bearded mouth, but he's... actually trying to do the right thing, with his family. He's not doing it perfectly, of course, but I don't actually expect him to, and I'm not holding him to such an unrealistic standard. He's trying to talk to them, he's apologized, and so on and so forth. These actually are the right actions he should be making in a general sense.
The thing is both the narrative of the story, and every character not named Dabi has either barely given a shit about, or has seemingly skipped several steps in the process of forgiving Endeavour for, being a child abusing shit, and as cool and iconic as I find The Man Literally Too Angry To Die Or Become Charcoal, an unbiased narrator he's not.
'Now Face', I can already imagine one of the three people who will actually read this say, 'It's not actually a redemption arc! Endeavour isn't trying to redeem himself, and there's no guarantee he'll ever actually be forgiven by his family!'
Well, imaginary reader, I'm sorry to tell you that it is. His family is going to forgive him, to some extent, and they end up a loving family in some shape or form. It's been signaled that way for awhile now, ever since the big family meeting where only Natsuo seems to be actively angry anymore, or when Endeavour fought the High End and his entire family went "ENDEAVOUR NOOOOOO PLEASE DON'T DIE!!!!'. Personally, I've known it was always going to happen since Shoto started interning with him, way back when, which is actually where my problems with this character arc even started!
Now, let's all pause and reflect on Earlyroki. Earlyroki, while a complex character, had some very simple motivations, and his biggest one was his complete and utter hatred of his father. Everything he did was done with an eye to spite his father with that action if at all possible, and if someone had handed Earlyroki a magic Quirk saw that'd let him physically cut off the fire half of this body and live, he'd have done it in a heartbeat and happily lived the rest of his life spitefully hopping around on one leg, if he didn't make himself a ice leg or something to walk with. That's why Izuku's famous line was so big for him: it separated him, in his mind, from his father for perhaps the first time in his life, and nothing more than that. Not forgiveness, not even acceptance, but just... that he wasn't his dad.
It was a great start, but the problem is the next step on his growth process wasn't separating more from his father, wasn't finding out more who he was, it was.... interning under him to learn how to fight like him. On an objective level, as much as I hate to admit it the plan is actually pretty smart: Endeavour was the Number Two Hero, and the best fire user in existence. He is the quickest and easiest path to power for Shoto, and the option was something he could easily do. But the thing is, this is before the power levels ate a lot of the story line; everything wasn't about power back then, and Shoto's story wasn't about getting stronger as a fighter anyways, but as a person. More than that, I honestly got the vibe that the only reason he hadn't tried to actually kill his dad was, 1, a the realistic knowledge that Endeavour could take him, and 2, what morals he had left in him and the fear of the consequences, since he hadn't progressed to the point where murdering him was worth giving up his moral qualms and his life as a free man. And so, you'd think he'd want to continue distancing himself from his father, right, but just do it in a healthier way, right? But he didn't.
Because Endeavour was going to be important later on so Hori had to get the readers used to him, because people hated him too much, because Hori had made him too hateable, and he had to be in the story. And, as a sign of how mature Shoto was, he was going to put up with his dad anyways, and it was that which confirmed Endeavour's redemption for me: because it was 'good', in the story's narration, for him to do that. Not to grow apart from him, not to just never talk to him ever again, not to stop thinking about him or having his life revolve around him, but to interact with him more. To spend time with him, even if it was an actual burden to Shoto. And that tolerance, I knew instinctively from all the other shonen storylines I've read, was going to be the foundation to forgiving him, the same way that sending time with him being 'good' was the first step in Shoto growing to love him, (and I was right! After growing to slowly tolerate Endeavour's existence his general area, the High End fight suddenly reveals that actually, Shoto loved his dad all along, despite him never once acting like that before now, or showing him any emotions at all beyond something on the spectrum of rage or disdain) and it was that abrupt jump from burning hatred that ruined Shoto's arc in forgiving his father for me, which tainted his family's arc in forgiving him because it's built off that for the audience.
...Well, that and one other thing: Rei. Rei finally shows up in the manga and one of the first things she does is say, 'No, wait, he's not that bad anymore! He's improving!' You know, despite the fact she's still hospitalized, and from what I remember still so traumatized he couldn't even see her yet... but he got her a flower!
You know, there's a post I read somewhere (but I don't know where it is, sadly, it was great) that analyzed the flower scene and how messed up that is.
They compared Rei and her flower to Harley Quinn in Mad Love and her getting a flower. The thing is? Mad Love was about showing how damaged Harley was, and how fucked up the abusive relationship she lived in; she spends the entire story getting hurt and used by Joker, and the end of it she finally, finally realizes that, hey, he's a piece of shit and terrible to her until the Joker gets her a flower. And oh, suddenly she's back in love with him all over again!
In Mad Love, that flower was about proving how broken Harley was, it was a symbol about how toxic and one sided her relationship with the Joker was. In MHA? Well, that flower is Rei's entire basis for saying that everyone should forgive Endeavour: he remembered that she liked that flower (which is assuming he didn't just get it accidently, lol) and so that's a sign he's better now! Not because he's acting differently to her, not because she's even talked to him, but because of the flower, and narratively? That's a good thing! You're supposed to agree with her, supposed to take that single flower as a symbol of Endeavour's growth and how you should think better of him now! Never mind all the things he did to her, never mind she basiclly hasn't interacted with him in over a decade, never mind how terrified she was, how she was so traumatized that seeing him in Shoto lead to her throwing boiling water at him; ignore all those details because the flower exists! It turns her from a character in her own right, to a tool that only exists for the sake of Endeavour making up with his family, since if she forgives him, if Fuyumi is too beaten down to have ever really dissented and if Shoto has moved on several months and one random personality twist or so ago into spending time with him, then clearly Natsuo is just irrationally angry and should rethink his own opinions, instead of being angry for completely valid reasons and having no real need to even want to make up with his father in the first place.
But the family drama of Endeavour is only half of it: like I said at the beginning, the problem with his arc is literally everyone else, along with the narrative of the story as a whole. Thing is, until Dabi's Dance, no one knows better, so there's only one really good example to look at pre-Dabi: the second internship arc, with Izuku and Bakugou.
With Shoto telling Izuku about how his father is a massive tool, and Bakugou blatantly eavesdropping, both of them know Endeavour is a piece of shit. They both know... and yet they go anyways, and the fact they do that and don't have a major problem with him is a way the narrative is trying to push to the reader that Endeavour is better now, now, that we should all move on and not hate him anymore! But honestly, that's just set up for the Dance, and that's when things really get serious, because everyone knows now.
...And they know, and... no one seems to... care? Emotionally, the only ones who seem to be affected by the fact that the Number One Hero's son is one of the greatest villains/criminals in the history of Japan is the Todorokis. Everyone else barely even seem to blink.
And look, I get that there's a giant crisis, and everyone needs to step up (Obviously. The real reason that it happened then was so it would be like that, so the author could paper over that giant issue with a problem magnitudes worse), but the other heroes only talk about Dabi is a problem to be solved, not his origins. There's not one moment where any of them seem to doubt Endeavour's abilities as a hero, or the institution of heroism if it literally seemed to cause their greatest problems, or hell, even Endeavour's ability to deal with it.
Not one of them look at Endeavour and tell him, "You disgust me." None of them say they can't trust him anymore, or that they're willing to follow him but only because the country itself is literally in danger. Hawks, who had been built up as the dark, edgier hero this entire time, wavering on the edge of good and evil and what is right or wrong, whose entire foundation of heroism started with Endeavour indirectly saving him as a child, doesn't even seem to be disappointed in his idol.... though that's as much on how his character seemed to get assassinated as of the war as anything else, but still.
As far as we, the readers, can tell, there is not one hero, beyond Shoto (who supports his father anyways) who is even slightly upset that Endeavour decided to start a eugenics campaign in his own home, before emotionally abusing his own son so badly he almost kills himself, and came back from near death as a burnt corpse of a man who devoted the rest of his life to destroying Endeavour and everything he loves.
Needless to say, that is... deeply fucked up. And sure, there may be some people (somewhere) who feel otherwise, but that's the problem: we never see them. We never see anyone's thoughts that differ from the party line. The narrative doesn't want us to see 'the good guys' doing anything other than falling in line behind him. This is all capped off by the fact that we see Endeavour's fall into being a child abuser, but we see it from his perspective.
We see him just... 'meaning well', from his own memories, and however distorted they've gotten over the years as he's rationalized it. We see that it isn't as bad as we suspected, that he wasn't the one to burn Dabi like that (even though he acted early on like he'd do exactly that, so it was never something that out there) but even if he didn't, Endeavour clearly drove him to burn himself like that and ignored every possible warning sign in the process. We know he slapped at least Rei at least once, and at some point hit Shoto so hard he puked, but "oddly enough" that never comes up in his version of the story; why would it? It's not like he'd want to think about those times.
So let's sum it up: Endeavour is, at least trying, to be better. He's making real, realistic, moves to apologize to his family, to make amends, and to stop being such a colossal piece of shit, and while he definitely makes some poor choices in that process, the attempt itself is real. I don't like him, but I can admit that much, and admire it.
The problem is that Hori, through the narrative of the story, how it's being shown to us and through the characters in it, wants us to like Endeavour too much. He wants it so much that he's refusing to show just how bad Endeavour actually was, and it taints his story and his growth as a person. It changes it, lessens it, because it's being forced by the author, and shows that he's afraid that if he didn't protect Endeavour from the consequences of his own actions, the audience wouldn't like him anymore.
Really though, if he didn't want that he shouldn't have made Endeavour such a detestable person in the first place, or when he made his story as this singular asshole among the heroes he shouldn't have been afraid to let him just... be hated.

something about verity doesn't make sense to me. why would they love morris if he's so devoted to the company they hate?
{This is fixing to be a long answer, I am SO SORRY, you have indulged the hyperfixation fr, I could talk for hours about this man! }
Mostly, Verity's reasoning is based around how I'm setting up the story for them, and how I head canon Morris would be as a multifaceted character. There's a few mods out there that do this already- add in more personality and reason behind him & his actions in-game than the vanilla game allows him- such as Morris Redeemed and Marry Morris. {Great mods, even if it's for the bit, I'd recommend trying them out and seeing the awesome work the people who made them put in!}
Anyway, Morris absolutely feels like a cartoonish, over-the-top bad guy. He's meant to be the overall "villain" of Stardew, a personification of Joja itself as the big scummy company, so it makes sense. Surface level personality of "he's just evil to be evil", not meant to be taken seriously at all, he's written exactly as he's intended to be for vanilla game. He's great as just that!
So, of course, it's not necessary to ask the questions "What if he's not actually just a big ol' greedy scumbag? What if there's more to it?", but it's so FUN to.
Therefore, for Verity's story, the answer is a resounding: yes, there's more to it. I'm definitely going to end up leaning into the fact that he DOES feel like the personification of Joja, not because he likes it, but because {like Verity at one point in time} he felt like Joja would bring him the life he wanted/wants.
Being over-the-top for his job just seemed like the right way to go about that for him, so he's constantly pushing for membership cards, hounding his employees to put in 100% of their effort just like he is. He's the manager of the whole store; his job rides on their performance in Joja's eyes just as much as THEIR jobs ride on his & their own performances. So, he performs. And he presses those who work with and under him to perform, too. It's a constant, monotonous, day-to-day show in order to keep the one Joja store in this small, barely-make-a-profit town floating. Those above him press him about how they'll tear the store down if that store doesn't meet the quota Joja wants- that if he doesn't get another membership to build that warehouse and please Joja corp., he's screwed, and on top of that, the employees who rely on the paycheck that Joja provides them are ALSO screwed.
Poor Shane is obviously crumbling apart at the seams as is, and the last thing Morris wants to do is fail these employees of his.
He cares about the people in the Valley, it's just that he's been made to believe that allowing a corporation like Joja to treat himself and others as less-than-human, forcing them to consistently and constantly mask any "undesirable" traits/behaviors in order to continue making the company the highest profit they can, please the company as a whole, put the store on some kind of corporate radar, will bring himself and others a good and happy existence. That the Joja brand suffering is normal, and worth it. Please the system, and the system will be good to you.
Except, it isn't, and it won't. Joja is a company that will use you up, and spit you out without care the moment you disappoint their already too-high expectations. The opening scene, after all, is of the office space Verity came from- constant surveillance to make sure every second is spent working, high turnover, and a significant lack of warmth and life in the building. It is cold, imposing, and highly stress-inducing. It's not a stretch to imagine that {playing off of some things in the Marry Morris mod} Morris had been unable to attend his father's funeral, and isn't able to visit his mother very often. That's something Verity can relate to him on. They didn't get much, if any, off-time from Joja, and their interpersonal relationships {not to mention their relationship with themself} suffered for it. Just because Verity hates the company, doesn't mean they hate or should/would be hateful to those that are still stuck working for it; they aren't the kind of person to take somebody's actions/behavior purely at face value, even if they aren't happy with what they did. It doesn't take hating a person to ask them if they're really happy with the conditions they're living under, if their job is really worth the cost it brings them- it takes actually caring enough to bother asking. That's what Verity brought to the metaphorical table for Morris; someone who could understand where he's coming from, even if they refused to fit in his static worldview. Someone willing to hold a conversation about whys and hows and what fors, instead of "you're just another shitty boss, and underneath that, you're just another shitty person; I'll do everything I can to make sure you never have your way." Verity didn't work on the community center out of spite and/or hatred. They did it because they fully felt it was the right thing to do in order to aid and uplift the community they, also, care about, instead of forcing them to submit to whatever Joja wants. That included Morris, as a member of the community. It's a whole thing, that Morris in the end doesn't actually want what Joja wants; he wants what he, as an individual, wants, and what he wants is for everyone he cares about to be happy, healthy... thriving. TL;DR Verity went a route he didn't/couldn't bring himself to take, and when the Center was refurbished, he suffered a Character Arch:tm: and frienemies to lovers shenanigans ensued.

Protective demon
(before Mugen train)
Tanjirou doesn't blame Zenitsu, after all an upper moon appeared out of nowhere only to help the three boys (well, actually only to help Tanjirou) take down another demon that was causing them trouble.
Zenitsu is awake so he starts shaking and crying, but he's determined to protect Tanjirou, Inosuke is ready to use his swords to try to kill him, but Tanjirou walks in the middle to stop them.
"What do you think you're doing?" Zenitsu asks in shock. "Can't you see he's an upper moon?"
"I know, I know..." Tanjirou begins, while Akaza is already making sure the redhead's wounds are not that serious. "Listen... I met him a couple of months ago, he helped me protect Nezuko once and has promised to... be better. He wants to redeem himself."
Well... If he's being honest, Tanjirou is not sure Akaza is very much interested in protect anyone else. When he met him, the upper moon three admitted he was following Tanjirou and was confused about his relationship with Nezuko at first. Then Tanjirou told him she was his sister and didn't care she was a demon, he loved her just the same. And then Akaza introduced himself, fell on his knees and begged Tanjirou to let him protect him.
Tanjirou didn't understand... at first.
"Please... My purpose... I just need someone to protect, let me protect you..."
"My sister too," Tanjirou mumbled after agreeing. He realized then that Akaza was a protector in his past life, as a human, and that he needed a purpose to free himself from Muzan.
And Tanjirou was going to help him.
From then on, Akaza followed him during the night and sometimes during the day too, being careful enough to avoid sunlight; Tanjirou ended up trusting him completely and decided to help him become human again.
"Tanjirou... You shouldn't–"
Ignoring Zenitsu completely, Akaza takes Tanjirou in his arms and after nuzzling his cheek, he puts him on his lap and starts patching him up.
Inosuke has lost interest in them already and decides to find something to eat, while Zenitsu seems to be in shock.
Again, Tanjirou doesn't blame him.
"There's no need, Akaza... I'm fine."
"You're a human," the demon narrows his eyes, still focused on a particularly deep cut on Tanjirou's arm. "You're too... fragile. I need to make sure you're okay."
"You worry too much."
Akaza shakes his head, before taking Tanjirou's hand and pressing the back of it, now clean and properly patched up, against his cheek.
"Let me turn you into a demon, I have his blood and..."
"Akaza, we have talked about this."
The upper moon pouts, but doesn't say anything else, instead he pulls Tanjirou closer.
"I'm sleeping next to you tonight."
"Okay..."
They find a nice cave, set up a fire, eat a couple of fish Inosuke managed to catch while Zenitsu watches Akaza like he doesn't know what to think about him.
At some point during the night Nezuko gets out of her box, looking like a little kid, and cuddles with her older brother. Akaza lays down behind Tanjirou, wrapping his arms around them both. He nuzzles the back of Tanjirou's neck before telling him to close his eyes.
By the time they wake up he's gone and Nezuko is back in her box.
Zenitsu is staring at Tanjirou like he can't quite believe what's happening.
"This is worse than I thought..."
"He won't hurt anyone–"
"Tanjirou, he's in love with you!"
The redhead shakes his head immediately... He knows that's not possible, Akaza is a demon and the only thing he wants is to have someone to protect and take care of.
"He's not."
Zenitsu looks like he wants to pull all his hair out.
"What are you going to tell the Pillars?"
"I'm not going to tell them anything," Tanjirou mumbles, biting his bottom lip nervously. "I don't think they would be willing to spare him like they did with Nezuko."
"Definitely not. They'd probably kill him as soon as they find out he's been cuddling you for months..."
"I'm not telling them," Tanjirou insists, ignoring Zenitsu's last words.
"They'll find out."
"They won't if we're careful."
"We? Tanjirou–"
"Please, Zenitsu! He protected us yesterday!"
"Only because you were in trouble, I'm pretty sure he doesn't care about me or Inosuke..."
"He has protected Nezuko dozens of times!"
"Fine!" Zenitsu gives in, like Tanjirou thought he would. "But only because Nezuko is more safe with him around."
"Thank you!"
Tanjirou beams before hugging Zenitsu, who blushes a little bit at the sudden physical affection.
"I still have a bad feeling about this..."

Chot spoilers we all knew were coming
Tumblr media
Yes, I haven't read chot yet and yes, I hoped this wouldn't happen, but yes, spoilers confirmed that this happened...
So, I'm already disappointed...
Tumblr media
Let's start from the beginning.
I'm gonna be honest, I never liked Matthew from his very first appearance in Tales of the shadow market. Yes, his story is tragic and pity, but the way he choose to deal with it made him absolutely unlikable for me. Love and loyalty for James was his only redeemable quality (for me).
Tumblr media
And I could totally deal with the fact that he fell in love with Cordelia (after years of unrequited love for Lucie), but I was hoping we won't go that road...of full on love triangle (especially, when it's obvious for everybody that Jordelia is the Endgame, so you don't split between two guys like in Wessa/Jessa case, instead Matt just becomes annoying obstacle), I hoped he will keep himself in hand, that he won't take the moves... That would make him noble and the relationship of him and Jamie, James and Daisy, Matt and Cordelia would stay pure...
Tumblr media
But looks like only HeronGrayStairs can be such high standard of self-sacrifice, purity of feelings and undivided understanding...
Tumblr media
looks like Cassie choose to make Matt blind to James' feelings for Daisy, I mean, yeah, he thinks Jamie obsessed with Grace, but if he himself wasn't obsessed with his own tragedy (swimming in it, drowning in it, made everything in his life spinning around it) and looked closely around he could see his (Jamie's) true feelings (Magnus saw it), and thought a little and didn't forget how Grace manipulated him (Matt) to kiss her against his will and realised she does it somehow with James too... but he ignored it
Tumblr media
And, also the whole situation : in 1903 you took married woman to Paris, your best friend's wife... This already looks bad. And you know she loves him, her husband, your best friend... wtf? This could be handled more original, I thought.
Tumblr media
But, according to spoilers, No...
So, it makes me not liking Matthew even more... Thank you very much, Cassie
Tumblr media
Maybe Cass decided that it's James' turn to fight for Daisy's love... Only, she actually didn't do anything to fight for his love with Grace, she just was herself (and poor James couldn't afford to himself even that) and she's lucky that he for all those years kept his feelings for her underneath that ₽hu¢k¡n' bracelet's spell, and accidentally, due to circumstances, married him. And, after everything he went through by his willpower and love for her, HE got to proof himself? I know it's romanticized that a man should chase and conquer, to provide and proof himself... But that's double standards bullshit against the backdrop of author tries to adhere in her works to the modern canons of equality and other trendy agendas, in opposition to "the moral and ethical prejudices of those times" and all that jazz... But maybe I'm digging too deep... sorry not sorry... I'm just pissed off... beforehand...
Tumblr media
And knowing about certain death, which I'm trying to deny for now... I remember Cassie said that on early stages she wanted to end this trilogy even more dark and tragic... Seriously? How dare you, ma'am!!!

whelp. i did it. somehow. firefighter show is done.
margaret is a new favorite problematic redeemable mom. "wanna go shopping for flowers together? i'm not trying to overstep or imply you're doing bad, i just thought it'd be nice"
aw buck realized his worth. and subconscious mom and dad let him go. but not daniel! wait no it's buck. and buck's going back for himself. the whole i'm a firefighter thing was cheesy as hell tho!
you know who's op? albert's mom. love women who are too good for everyone around them.
frankly margaret is right to nag about the couch. but look at these parents!! trying so hard!! like. trying to finally be what buck hoped they would be? good for him.
ah eddie's couch. adorable. opening up to him, even better <3
eddie and buck on a poker date <3 looking sharp boys <3
okay clearly this sending chim back to academy is to have him recognize what a leader he is. but like. god cap would literally be one of the worst bosses in the world if he was real.
and then academy! clearly they're doing a burn tower. fun fact, there's no fire, just smoky barrels to mimic smoky conditions. it's apparently super miserable. anyways i don't know if la does academy all the time or something, but it's usually only done after the new hires come on. and it's only like. 6-12 weeks of job training?? idk. when they recommended my husband spend some days at academy to practice acting up after he did officer school he had to go on his off days from actual work because the city's not going to pay for him to mess around at academy when he's still got to do his current job. they're not paying someone overtime to fill in for him. the exception was when they had him do the week of officer school, but even then on days he had school and shift, he just returned to shift after he was done with class.
i have a review for you cap, you're an hr nightmare <3
ahahaha. maddie singing in the 911 call. christ, the cheese. and everyone clapped.
okay. how did cap get he an extension on her state licensing requirements c'mon. that has nothing to do with the lafd aside from the fact that they probably provide the cont ed required to maintain. when it's due for renewal and if it gets renewed is entirely up to the state (or should be. idk about california i guess).
you know this whole eddie needs to not be set in his ways and get out of his comfort zone? (he needs to confess to buck. wait what who said that.)
ah, the taxes thing. i mean i like the story thay they're gonna get married (chim and maddie) but the taxes thing is just a little silly. like jee is two? and since taxes are done for the previous years 1) they may have already had to do taxes with consideration of jee and living together and 2) we're talking about potentially doing taxes for the year that maddie was gone. so there should be no way that she would he like "i'm gonna claim jee on mine". that whole being gone for majority of it would be a big long conversation. i feel like maddie and chim would probably have had these discussions already.
i do like hen bringing up the whole maddie leaving thing tho. while i want her and chim to be happy, hen does make excellent points about that and their relationship and his indecision in general.
but she is being unfair about maddie having ppd and not trusting chim. because those aren't necessarily connected. women with ppd. listen there's so much shame involved, especially with the ones you love the most. how do you admit to your husband some of the things that ppd might make you feel about your child? depression itself is irrational, but with ppd there's also a real fear that if you admit to some of those things, you will lose your child. but overall it was a good discussion between them.
of course the ring was with jee lol.
and hen and maddie had a good talk. and maddie's proposing aw.
listen i haven't said much about these buck and eddie lovelines, but all in all its generally inoffensive to me but i'm not super feeling it. definitely rushed tho. and buck's new love interest is very underwritten and such a non-presence that i don't even remember her name.
and listen. i like the sperm donor storyline but i also hate when shows lean in on "haha pregnant lady so she comes in and starts eating spaghetti cause she's hungry and makes buck go out just to buy her pickles". cravings and hunger are there, but they're generally pretty reasonable.
buck taking charge in the bridge collapse. how much he's grown.
once again the world's fastest premature baby with the world's biggest premature baby. good for buck giving the baby to the mom. that's growth.
look at everyone settling down. you can tell this was meant to be a maybe we're not getting renewed thing lol
anyways good for them. the show is just as ridiculous as i remembered and then some, but i didn't hate it. just needs more union. :)

"You look pretty while you sleep. Prettier than you look when you're glaring at me. Yep, exactly like that." with Stony plz?
Teehee actually no this one is really mean >:3c
--
"...lly missed you," Steve heard, distantly. He tried to remember where he was.
He'd had a job. He hadn't been happy about it. Why? Someone he hadn't wanted to see. He'd needed the job though. Had had to grit his teeth and bear it.
"You look pretty while you sleep."
Tony, he remembered suddenly. He hadn't seen him since they'd broken up. Hadn't wanted to see him. But Jim had asked him as a favor. Tony's used to threats, so he's not taking them seriously, Jim had said, voice solemn. But these threats, Steve... they're different.
"Prettier than you look when you're glaring at me."
Steve scowled, finally blinking his eyes open. "Tony."
"Yep, exactly like that," Tony sighed, and Steve swore he saw some regret on his face before his mask carefully fell into place, like shudders over a window. He pushed himself up off the bed, walking over to his suitcase instead.
Steve sat up. "Why did you let me sleep?"
"Because you were exhausted?" Tony answered, voice carefully blasé. "I know you always get tired after a plane ride, and then you had to follow me around that gala for five hours."
"My comfort is not more important than your safety," Steve barked, scowling at him. He fought the urge to get off the bed and shake him. It wouldn't help. It had never worked before, after all.
Tony sighed and rolled his eyes, finally plucking out his toiletry bag. "You're no good to me if you're suffering from sleep-deprivation."
Steve stood, managing to get to the bathroom door at the same time he did and slamming his hand against the doorway, blocking him from entering. "Jim said you weren't taking these threats seriously, but I can't believe just how bothered you aren't," he snapped, glaring at him. "Don't you care about your life at all?"
"Maybe I could finally get more than an hour's sleep if I died," Tony scoffed, grabbing his forearm to try and urge it out of his way.
"Shit like that is why we broke up, Tony," Steve snapped.
Tony finally dropped his mask, turning to glare back at him. "Yeah, because I'm a fuck-up! I know that already! And if Rhodey wasn't such a pain in my ass when he was trying to take care of me, you wouldn't have to be here to see my stupid face again! But for some reason he thinks I have redeeming qualities, so unfortunately here we both are!"
"Why is it so hard to believe that people actually like you?!" Steve exclaimed, exasperation creeping in past the anger.
Tony scoffed in disbelief, outraged. "You have a lot of audacity saying that to me, you know! You know firsthand exactly why people don't like me. I'm frustrating. I don't know how to change. I--"
"I broke up with you because I couldn't stand that you didn't care if you left me behind!" Steve shouted, throwing his hands up in frustration. "You don't take threats to your safety seriously, I--I asked you why you won't take threats seriously, and you shrugged, as if me being left behind without you didn't fucking matter!" He finally reached out, grabbed Tony's shoulders, and gave him the shake he'd been wanting to give him for over a decade. "I love you, Tony. I want you around for a long time. I want to grow old with you."
"No you don't," Tony choked out, trying to pull out of his grip. He did that sniff he always did when he was trying to swallow back his emotions, not wanting to show he was vulnerable. "You're young, you--you're not going to grow old with me, Steve, you're just going to get older and be stuck with some gross elderly--"
"You said the age gap didn't bother you," Steve began angrily.
"No one ever wanted to stay like you did," Tony said, or shouted, it felt loud but it also felt small, like he was trying to keep from falling apart and failing. "People got what they wanted and moved on, and you didn't, and I didn't know what to do, Steve, no one talked about--about marriage, and where we'd live for the majority of the year, and kids. Not with me as their husband. You always made fun of me for having starlets on my arm but none of them ever wanted to marry me, Steve."
Steve's grip loosened a little in shock. "You thought I was just like them. That I was around for a good time, not a long time."
"Pepper, Rhodey, and Happy must have told you what I'm like. Especially when they realized you were serious. Why did you stay as long as you did?" Tony asked quietly, sniffling.
"Because I fucking wanted those things, like I've never wanted anything else, Tony," Steve whispered, pulling him closer. "And I wanted them with you. I don't care that you're older than me or that I'll have to take care of you. Tony, don't you understand? Taking care of you has been the only thing I've ever wanted to do. It wouldn't stop just because you were old. It would have been a privilege to be the one you leaned on."
"I didn't know," Tony admitted, as if Steve couldn't tell, as if it wasn't suddenly completely obvious. "I'm not--not good at this even in the short term. I never would have understood."
Steve let his hands drift down, closer to Tony's elbows. Yeah, Tony hadn't really had a chance, had he? And neither had Steve. Too different. Too alike, in other ways, too.
"Did you mean it?" Steve asked quietly.
Tony blinked, brows furrowing together. "Did I mean what?"
"You said you missed me," Steve said. "Before telling me I was prettier in my sleep."
"Of course I missed you, Steve," Tony whispered, dropping his head. "I love you. I missed you as soon as you walked out the door. I never wanted--"
Steve tugged him in close, smashing their mouths together, because that was all he needed to hear.

for the fic writer game: 3, 4 for take his hand, 8, 20 for merry metamorphosis (am I trying to make you write pregnancy fic... maybe), 27 for ch2 of here's a safe place, 37, 49
3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?
I write a lot of family life for traumatized characters, stuff that requires a lot of intentional growth but also leaves space for tenderness. Love me some literal sleeping together, too. I mostly write post-canon, and a lot of introspection. And I think I'm always working off of an assumption of redeeming the narrative, in a sense - not that things will always go well, but they will always have meaning. It's the Christian worldview, I suppose.
4. What detail in [Take His Hand] are you really proud of?
Honestlyyyy, I could wax rhapsodic talking about this fic and how it came to be. Lucy's chapter may be killing me a little bit, but there were parts of Lockwood's that truly feel like they came from outside of me (we've talked before about the Holy Spirit influence on this one). I know I already mentioned this in my reply to your comment, but the fact that Lockwood was praying with his old rosary beads from when he was a kid when the call from Penelope Fittes comes in says a lot. It's a nod to (part of) what Lockwood chose to pray about, after all those years of distance - the right opportunity to invite Lucy to come home - and it also ties the success of the company to a lasting legacy for the Lockwood family, which is such a key aspect of understanding Lockwood himself and just what he's trying to include Lucy in. It also says that he unpacked the literal box of memories, however painful, even if he's not 100% ready to unpack the metaphorical one - except he has started to, he's praying and acknowledging the God he feels let him down (or maybe the other way around, depending on the day), and he's doing this thing that reminds him so strongly of Jessica and their shared grief. It's not "solved," Lockwood still has a long way to go and a lot of Jacob-like wrestling with the Lord to do, but at least he's stopped running in the opposite direction and actually let himself feel something - which is what the Black Winter is all about, in his arc. I could go on about this for ages, truly.
8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)?
Captives Come Home by Run Kid Run is just BEGGING for Other Side fic, - please, the number of times the lyrics repeat stuff about creeping shadows and the other side! - and maybe I'll write it eventually but I'd be equally happy to read it if someone else did. Would love to see it start with Lockwood and Lucy's first crossing ("There's hope inside that box you close/That only opens when your life explodes/On the other side, come home"), then tackle when the whole crew is there ("Don't you know you gotta get up/Get up and find a way back home?/So hold on tight, let's go/Leave behind false sense of hope/Where creeping shadows call your name") and then focus on post-canon efforts to clear the fences so the captive spirits can finally reach their final destinations ("As I'm waiting for the world to end/I'm clinging on to oxygen/I'm pulling captives by the hand/Come home, come home"). I have not shut up since my first read through TCS about the Harrowing of Hell imagery and, yeah, I just think I deserve this one, as a treat.
20. If you wrote a prequel to [A Merry Metamorphosis], what would it involve?
I know I already said this to you the other day, but bestie, do I have good news for you! Next (new) project on the list is literally this. 😆 To be fair, it doesn't exactly take a lot to encourage me to write pregnancy/kidfic, lol. But yeah, been thinking a lot about protectiveness and what that would look like for Lucy and Lockwood as they prepare for a baby, and how that would interact with their work (logistically and emotionally), considering they're still pretty young when they have Ivy.
27. How long did it take to write [Here's a Safe Place to Lay Your Heart Down ch. 2]? Describe the process.
FKlejgklaegl well. According to the date I created that Scrivener file, parts of that chapter were written in early September, and I just published it to AO3 last weekend, so you can do the math. Here's the thing about Lay Your Heart Down: while the core themes/message remained the same throughout, it went through several iterations in how I conceptualized it, and that made the writing process AGONIZING, because it was a constant repetition of knit/purl steps and untangling and reworking. (I don't knit, so take my metaphor with a grain of salt.) Honestly, this mostly came about because I kept asking myself if The Necklace counted as an engagement ring in Lockwood's mind, which obviously I kind of answered in Woke Up in a Safe House Singing, and that pivoted to a very vivid idea of how Lockwood would think about picking out a ring for Lucy and what it would look like and why. So. That could have been a drabble, but I also have a lot of feelings about the Touch/possession scene in the second episode, and that had to go somewhere!! And overlapped a lot, thematically. So a lot of the Lockwood having a self-isolating freakout stuff from ch. 2 was written first, plus the bit immediately after THB with the broken headphones and remembering watching Lucy dancing. All that used to be together in one chapter, which was going to be sandwiched between Lockwood picking out the ring and a sweet future scene that featured the ring somehow - the narrative started out even less linear than it ended up. (That final scene is now its own WIP.) Then I ended up with all the canon-era relationship development in the first chapter and the second could focus on that core conflict, Lockwood panicking about those lines from the show - "he gave me the ring, he wouldn't hurt me" - but in the context of all the various ways he could get Lucy hurt, because old conflicts (internal and interpersonal) tend to reemerge at transition points like the engagement period. A couple things that got me unstuck with this chapter were actually writing out more of what happened on the job that went wrong, letting Lucy be more upset (while still understanding), working out that Lockwood's fear this time was less about Lucy getting hurt and more about being the reason for that happening, and drawing direct parallels to Fairfax and Annabel (which in turn let me work in that good stuff about devotion and mutual belonging).
37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?
I'm not shocked Onward, Ontologically has gotten very few eyes on it - if nothing else, Continuum is a tiny fandom, even less active now than when I was originally writing for it, plus Kiera and Alec are a complicated ship (I'm often curious if they would still be a rarepair if the fandom were larger, though - I could see it going either way). It worked for my Yuletide recipient, though, and that's all that really matters. I really like the quiet domesticity of it, and that it leaves space for the S3 conflict between Alec and Kiera to remain somewhat unresolved - I like complicated, and I don't think an easy resolution would have been realistic after everything these two went through and did to each other, and the tangled doppelganger web.
Within this fandom, one I wish got a little more love was Smoke & Shield. Gen is usually a bit, idk the right word, quieter? So I wasn't expecting as much excitement as with my Locklyle works, but I do think it's a really good character study of Jessica and her relationship with her little brother. I got some truly lovely comments on it that tell me it still found an audience to resonate with, though!
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
Well, since you attacked us all with baby fever, here's a snippet from the "Lucy learns she's pregnant with #4 via George's powers of observation" fic. (I don't think I've posted this bit before? Idk, this is the problem with lingering WIPs!) I've been WIP-hopping a lot, but this is one that's gotten a bit more focus lately:
With arms outstretched to take one twin off my husband’s hands, I explained, “I’m not even sure yet myself. It honestly hadn’t occurred to me until George said something, but…” My voice got smaller as I finished, “I think he might be right.” Transfer completed, Lockwood let his hand linger, then drop to hover just over my belly. At the open wonder on his face, I blushed. It wasn’t as though we hadn’t done this part before - twice, in fact - yet it seemed even at the mere possibility, he couldn’t help looking at me like I was made of something magic. To be fair, that wasn’t all that far off from Lockwood’s normal.

Thank you for not only humoring me but also responding to my angry rants in a measured and thoughtful manner! It's post ep-12 now and tbh I've managed to eliminate most of the full-on Way hate from my feed via judicial use of the blocking tool! Which means I can't tell if the small swell of sympathy I've seen since the most recent ep is because, by using Pete as a conduit, the show is inviting us (and Babe) to, if not outright forgive, at least acknowledge the coercion and abuse that has informed Way's actions, or if general opinion has not in fact changed, but my extensive blocking has merely succeeded in shutting out the angry mob!
It is curious, though, the complete disconnect some ppl seem to be experiencing vis a vis what the show itself - not just us crazy apologists! - is trying to tell us about Way and his motivations and psychology, vs the funhouse mirror version they see: a toxic incel who can only be redeemed by death. And yes, the hypocrisy of those who write essays pleading for Kenta's salvation whilst simultaneously wishing the worst for Way...I don't get it. Well, actually I do have some thoughts as to why.
I think some ppl can't see past - and will never be able to, and I won't judge them for that - the attempted sexual assault, but, more than that, they haven't contextualised it (ugh I know how that sounds but bear with me!). They still see it in terms of Way trying to rape Babe cos he thinks his ten years of pining mean he's entitled to him. They still see his actions as motivated primarily by a twisted version of possession and obsession masquerading as unrequited love. And if that was the case I would be right there with them, baying for blood! But for reasons both of us have discussed in length already, I see it very differently (and I'm fairly confident this is also how the show intends us to see it): I see someone who has been manipulated, abused and groomed for years, who is being held at metaphorical gunpoint, feeling he has no choice but to do this abhorrent thing because otherwise everyone he loves will suffer an even worse fate (insert usual disclaimer here about how this doesn't excuse or justify said actions). We've talked about how Way had TEN YEARS to use his power to assault Babe should he want to, and yet it's only when the walls are closing in, Tony's piling on the pressure, and Way's true identity has been revealed that he finally feels there's no going back and now he has no other choice but to go through with it. I do think maybe the show hasn't been explicit enough in spelling out that this was Tony's plan for Way the whole time - not sure if it's a subs thing, or an attempt not to lean too heavily into the mpreg thing, but they could have been clearer about that (I will be forever bitter that out of all of Tony's 'kids', we didn't get flashbacks of Way's background or his time as a child in Tony's house. I get why, to keep the reveal as a surprise, Way was kept as a bit of a mystery up to that point, but now it's out in the open it would be really useful and illuminating to see how he came to be there, how Tony planted the seed in his mind, how he met Babe, if he'd ever met any of the others, etc. I think show dropped the ball in general a tad after the big reveal - Way's screentime was reduced to drunkenly moping around in bars, which doesn't necessarily engender much sympathy! We could have had more about the meds, seen more of the real life ramifications for him if he's no longer of any use to Tony, etc.).
Other reasons I think ppl are quicker to forgive Kenta than Way: Kenta's abuse and subjugation have been shown much more regularly and explicitly - Way appears to be out and about living life freely, has his own place, his own income, his own friendship group, etc. whereas Kenta is more literally trapped/constrained/manhandled. And although we were told by Tony himself that Way is still effectively a prisoner, it's the ol' show vs tell thing again - that's still nowhere near as powerful as seeing Kenta's very continual and visual degredation. I also don't think it helps that the one scene where we are both told and shown the truth about Way's situation and his treatment at Tony's hands comes immediately after the attempted assault, when most viewers, understandably, aren't exactly in the mood to feel sorry for him!
I also think another possible explanation is that Way's actions specifically hurt Babe, our main POV character, and in a very personal way, whereas Kenta's actions a) had a more indirect impact (well, the trafficked children might disagree but they're only hypothetical so we don't really care about them as much!) and b) weren't personal - he didn't betray anyone's trust or friendship or love - so viewers find it easier to accept mitigating factors.
At the end of the day, I mostly just feel sorry for those viewers who either can't see past their own bias (obviously does not include anyone who for personal reasons may have been triggered)/admit they were wrong, or who lack the necessary media literacy to fully engage with the characterisation the show is offering us (hahahah says the self-proclaimed hater of all things Charlie/Babe!!!), since it's an infinitely more interesting and powerful and tragic story if you see Way, and Way's relationship with Babe, through open, receptive and, most importantly, sympathetic eyes.
my pleasure! i'm happy i have someone to talk with way about; the friends i usually theorise and cry about blorbos with are still way behind so i can't tell them anything bc i don't want to spoil them, and i've been venting to another friend (more like talking her ear off) but she's not watching or really interested so it's not really the same even when she has something to say lol
and yeah, at the end of the day we're responsible for curating our fandom experience, inasmuch as people don't tag hate etc. i haven't blocked anyone bc for some reason i feel bad blocking people which i know is stupid (edit: never fucking mind i am blocking now), but i do follow very selectively bc i get easily overwhelmed by my dash, so everything i've seen was either in the tag or by people i no longer follow. this means i have wonderful moots who provide me with plenty of blorbo feels and are not assholes about other characters <3 (fun? fact: my top blorbos are literally way > kenta > pete which is i think i'm no too bothered by the shipping side of things? as in it's not affecting me as it does sometimes the fact that some people are looking at all of this solely through their shipping goggles or whatever... but idk. i don't deal well with hate generally and after some thought i think that's what's bothering me about the whole way situation, bc the character/media you're hating on won't know bc it doesn't exists but their fans will.)
i totally agree, the fact we saw that scene with tony (even if it's clear how terrified way is in his presence earlier) right after the attempted SA didn't help. i wish we'd seen more of his past, maybe a flashback when he was at the bar… because as you said, once again the not showing/telling/letting people infer things isn't helping. specially when people aren't interested in the first place. idk i just like to understand characters independently of if i like them or not so this is! baffling to me! and yeah exactly, the fact that it was personal to babe plays a big part too, never mind how babe himself feels about way since we're already sympathising with him as our main character so…
as my friend (the one that isn't watching but is patting my back in these difficult times) tells me, sometimes people just let their prestablished idea of a character blind them to what the story is telling them. and honestly, their loss. skill issue if you ask me /j
anyway, the ep is about to start. let's hold hands.

25 for Griffith?
[character ask meme]
GRIFFITH + 25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
Hahaha, an excellent choice of a question for him
cut for spoilers, because I know I have a mutual who is freshly reading this series right now... (don't look, Dilly!!)
OK so my reactions to him chronologically can basically be divided into three parts:
(1) Pre-Eclipse: I like him, but I'm also side-eyeing him a bit... What's he up to, exactly?
(2) During the Eclipse: yoooo Griffith what the actual fuck you actual piece of shit!!!!
(3) Post-Eclipse: I HATE HIM AND EVERYTHING HE DOES ENRAGES ME BUT ALSO I REMEMBER HE'S A BIT COMPLICATED AND ALSO IT'S MORE BORING WHEN HE'S NOT AROUND SO WHERE DID HE GO AND CAN HE STOP DISAPPEARING FOR DOZENS OF CHAPTERS AT A TIME PLEASE
So initially I liked Griffith as a character and found him interesting to follow on the page (especially because I was like woah I can't believe how outright gay for Guts he's written, like I knew that people shipped them but I didn't think it would be that unambiguous? Good for him, good for him, I like how bold he is about it) BUT I was also side-eyeing Griffith and distrusting him a bit from the beginning, just because I knew that SOMETHING crazy must have happened to make him and Guts the kind of mortal enemies they were now before we got into the flashbacks, and because I don't trust endlessly ambitious characters trying to make themselves increasingly powerful, and because he did some shitty stuff at times (like making Casca warm Guts up with her body heat because it was a "woman's job")... but I think I remember believing that whatever it was he was still going to be a somewhat redeemable character, or that maybe the antagonism between him and Guts was based on a misunderstanding or something. So whenever the Eclipse stuff happened, I was genuinely shocked and completely horrified (here is the post with my live reaction to that part (x)
Tumblr media
I REALLY got mad and really disliked him after that, and it nearly made me quit reading the story, because I wasn't a huge fan of how porny that whole scene was drawn in comparison to how the previous assaults were depicted on the page / wasn't incredibly sure if it felt super in-character of him / necessary for the plot / wasn't sure if Casca would ever be allowed to come back as a character in the story again ... but I also found I couldn't stop reading it for long, I was already way too emotionally invested in the characters and enjoying the Berserk universe as a whole. And stuff like how mutilated and broken and pitiful Griffith was after the torture he endured, and the scene of child him feeling obligated to keep going with his dream because of all the people he'd lead to their deaths already, made him stay more interesting to follow and more complex to contemplate as a character to me.
ANYWAY, the longer the story went on without him showing up again (if I recall correctly it goes on for at least another like 80 chapters more or something before we even see him again after that?) the more I realized that he brings a lot of the intrigue and make the most of the plot stuff that I'm actually most interested in happen, for better or for worse. So even though I was always enraged by him basically just existing and everything he did on the page after that I was also like "!!!! there he is, FINALLY" and glad every time he showed up again, haha. I wish sometimes now that he was still a bit more of a volatile/human character as he was before he made the sacrifices, because that's definitely more interesting to watch... but I can't say I'm not still very intrigued to see what happens in the end / how everything was meant to resolve between him and Casca and Guts, and if we'll ever see a big break in his aloof facade again, even after he tried to ascend to godhood and erase all of those more vulnerable human qualities from himself.
IN SUMMARY he's not my absolute fave in this series, and that's remained the same for me the entire time (it goes Guts>Casca>Griffith for me, and that order of faves hasn't changed all throughout) ... but he's definitely an iconic character, the one that brings a lot of the drama and the intrigue, and for some reason is the one I find most fun to discuss and post and speculate about in the fandom rn

PALACE OF ILLUSIONS BY CHITRA BANNERJEE DIVAKARUNI
So the book is about Mahabharat retelling but from Draupadi's POV which was interesting.
Tho Bheem only had only few lines it was really wholesome and comforting to know that he loved draupadi. The story about Mahabharata isn't a mystery to us. We all know what and how it happens........It felt peaceful when the story's title "The palace of Illusions" came into picture, even in the pov of draupadi she described living in this palace as the most peaceful time of her life and same goes for me i really liked the idea of having a palace that is alive and that can read your thoughts tho it kinda scary. This book felt really depressing for me. Having to listen to these men with full ego. Her own dad not loving her, her brother growing distant from her, Krishna becoming her best friend then growing distant, her having to marry Arjuna despite actually wishing for things destiny didn't allow her, kunti being cold to her and controlling her sons and treating draupadi horribly, draupadi having to marry all Five of the Pandavas, then bearing some more cold treatment from her mother in law then coming face to face with the reality that if Arjuna didn't had her all to himself then she'd just because a duty to him than love, and her husbands starting to have other wives. I wanted to scream!! Like i do want to know what happens next but at the same time i already freaking know so I'm dreading the time when her husband yudhishthir will put everything as a bet during the game including her which will lead to some really dire consequences, which the kauravas had it coming for them. And oh God i hate duryodhana so much despite him not having any lines in this book. Or maybe he did?
What I didn't like about this book
Kunti's character oh lord i hated it and also Krishna acting distant to draupadi tho i can understand this part. I hate Draupadi's dad on a whole another level. I hate duryodhana and I'll soon hate dusashan tho i already hate them but I'll hate them more after completing this book. Arjuna in this book acted too much like real men which made my head ache. I also hated how vyasa gave her boon of chastity. 💀🙄
I was really dreading over this book. If i should read it or not because of the some very negative and misleading comments but i decided that if the reviews are correct and it's misleading from what actually happened then I'll write one hell of a negative one myself to warn other's. But other than some fictional element (her crush on karna), it didn't stray from what actually happened in Mahabharata.
For me reading this book has become the hardest task of all. I do want to know draupadi's pov but at the same time reading this tragedy like story is really hard. Because I know what's coming and she's definitely gonna hate herself for it. But being pressured and giving in to her life's destiny it's so sad that when she's finally living her best life destiny once again came to her to destroy her. It's heartbreaking.
If there existed a real POV of draupadi then I'm sure it'd be similar to this book (except for the part, her crush on karna). But it's this book's fictional element and it was quite intriguing to imagine that draupadi sympathized with karna so much that her curiosity turned into a crush. Her heartbreak when having to insult him, her trying to redeem herself but not being able to because even unintentionally she scraped open a really deep wound which he had to bear his whole life. Her thought process had changed so much too in the middle half of the story. Kunti not being a lovable character, it was opposite to how I'm used to hear the stories about her. But well anyways after reading this I'm gonna love and respect draupadi even more. I've always sympathized with her, she tried her very best despite all the chaos going on around her.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Four because I can never love this story (Nevermind i actually loved this book. Specially the last chapter) no matter how much I try same goes for the actual Mahabharata. It's a good read and doesn't have any indecency (It does have some lines so.......but it's not bad) in it so anyone can read but don't take it literally. There were many things which contradicted to how I've been listening stories to, or reading about Mahabharata. Also I found The Narad muni enticing fights among people, mom would call me and my siblings Narad muni at such occasions when we did something similar and i always thought who it was mom was referring to. So...............I found you!!
Note : English is my second language and I'm unaware about a lot of things so be kind to me or I'll be rude to you as well!! 🙄🫢🤭💕
Also these pictures are not mine and were taken from Pinterest so if you're the owner of the picture do DM me for credits since i couldn't find who made these, Do also DM me for the removal of the post if you don't want me using your art.
Thank you~💕

Heyy I'm a huge simp simp for Kenny, can you do an mp officer being completely devoted to Kenny? Kinda like you did with Levi?
Sure! And sorry for being inactive for a few days. I was outta town and couldn't connect 😭
Kenny with someone completely devoted to him
You and Kenny met when he first joined the military. He made his little speech about not giving a damn and soon you were sold on his idea
You soon was able to catch him alone and tell him your devotion and loyalty towards him
"Sir!" you saluted. "I admire your prospects and perspective about.. all this. I wanna give you my loyalty and devotion. I'll stick around for whatever!"
Kenny wouldn't think much of it at first since he'd assume your just all talk. In fact he didn't feel obligated to care and would just leave you with your own feelings as he'd see it
He'd be intrigued once he saw you actually act on your so called 'devotion' towards him though.
You'd begin sticking by his side more often and dealing with anyone bothering you and the squad. You'd be there to deal with any back talk, you'd raise a sword for anyone threatening Kenny or coming too close, and you'd make sure everyone else stayed in line.
You were useful on his team to say the least and everyone knew it. You did end up becoming friends with the girl he made his second in command though. Traute Caven
Together you'd legit be unstoppable. You two would probably do most of the fighting while Kenny would begin threatening and holding knives up to people's necks
It worked for everyone on the squad and Kenny saw it fit so he never minded it
He'd definitely try joking with you a bit or teasing your intense loyalty towards him. He'd just get bored randomly and since you're always by his side, he'd start teasing the hell outta you
He'd find just about any reaction you gave funny. You could get mad or be awkward and he'd find it hilarious because of you usually resorting to violence yet you just stayed still
Kenny would feel a bit cocky having you on his team. He'd redeem you as one of his most worthy squad members and would be pretty vocal about it
Would definitely start insulting anyone you were beating down. Like he'd just be on the side insulting them while cheering you on in a way
If you ever were given the chance to protect Kenny and took it, he wouldn't admit you doing it. He'd probably come up with some lame excuse that he had it and didn't need you to swoop in so dramatically to save him
If he was able to save you though, he'd be hella arrogant about it. Even if you had the situation under control, he'd see himself as the hero in it
"Oi this time I saved your ass. You better be working overtime, weren't you supposed to be the one protecting me?"
It'd all be a very obvious joke but he'd never let you live it down
If you two were to ever actually end up getting together, he wouldn't have a doubt in his mind that you could handle yourself. He'd still look out for you despite this but wouldn't be obvious about it
He wouldn't go anymore softer on you though. Especially with other people around. He might be a bit more open to if you're alone but the most he'll ever do is thank you in a sorta awkward way for your loyalty
He isn't really emotional and crap so he wouldn't want you to ever get emotional. If you were to though, I think the thing holding him back from leaving is that you're valuable to his squad and he's in a relationship with you. That's the only reasons he has though
He usually isn't one for clingy people but since he first saw it as your loyalty which he needed, he would have gotten used to it from you already. He just would be less open to sappy clinginess. He prefers the clinginess where you kill people for him instead
Kenny isn't good with commitment so he'd respect you for yours. He'd definitely somewhat try though. More of a 'you scratch my back, I scratch yours' typa way though. It's the only excuse he'd have for doing it other than caring about you which he'd cringe too much to admit
Overall, Kenny would appreciate your efforts although he'd rarely say it. He'd have respect for you and a slight admiration which he usually doesn't just give out to anyone
♥ Thank you for reading ♥
Hope you enjoy, requests are opened! And I'm getting to the requests already in my inbox <33
