Hello again, this is the same anon from here
Honestly any fanfic would do, a series or one shot that seems to have really good writing. I've been trying to look for well written one shots for awhile on tumblr. My friend on here actually introduced me to your blog, they speak very highly of you. But other than your blog I did find people who write in detail but they're from another fandom sadly:(
A questio, do you know the self aware twisted wonderland AU? It's a very interesting AU. You should see the one shots made for the AU although they don't write in detail as much but their ideas for said AU is very interesting, nowadays most of the things being posted about the AU is all about writing letters to your favorite characters instead of one shots so that's why I was hoping you could give me a few recommendations:)
ohhhh i think i understand better now yes. and yes, i know about the self-aware AU! it was popular in the mysmes fandom too haha, it's a fun au for any game. i think a couple of writers have done their take on it so i don't really know who you're referring to or who did it first haha
regardless i guess i'll recommend fics (and honestly? just writers) i personally enjoy, and you can see if they're to your taste as well! or you can scroll through their masterlists yourself! and also this is my opportunity to talk about my talented mutuals oopsies
sorry for the tags pls forgive me hehe 🤗
i already talked about this in a post a few months ago, but i love anything written by @traumxrei-archive !! one of trau's leona fics titled "the shape of one's heart" is an easy new favorite of mine, i love character studies so much and screams and falls into a pit. and speaking of series! trau has a mini series based on fairy gala, fittingly named "the fairy gala collection"... and then and then just... trau's fics <3 heart eyes only!!
these are short but intimate... which makes sense because "fondness found amongst fleeting intimacy" [part 1 w/ idia, vil, mal, crewel] [part 2 w/ savanaclaw boys] by @twsthearts i just think about them every so often, the title itself enraptured me and i was just compelled to read and i had no regrets knox if u see this i adore ur writing sm i always feel like i'm reading one of my poetry books or the diaries of novelists excerpts from your works feel like they belong on a book, and then a pinterest girlie will be so in love they'll scan it and post it on their board
@twstedstoryshop hi okay so i'm going to admit i haven't finished shopkeep's full catalogue yet but i'm going to say "convenient marriage" (deuce historical AU) is probably my favorite bc i just... historical AUs, but i also enjoy "funny thing called fate" (azul soulmate AU) because i'm predictable and I think soulmate AUs are the best!!
@kaiijo ying...!!! such charming writing...! "magnetic" (azul frenemies to lovers) might be to your taste! although i am a simple human and the love triangle [part 1] [part 2] ones are my favorites dreamy sighing
i haven't actually read any of these yet (bc i want to binge all of them in one day oops) but since you mentioned series of one shots i thought of "the who does the prefect like" collab bc some of my (again, talented!) mutuals are participating in it i think it's worth checking out!
these are all i can think of right now off the top of my head that you might enjoy but if i think of more i'll reblog this!
anyway to whoever else is reading this feel free to recommend me some fics as well because i have not been reading a lot of fanfic lately hjsjsjsd i haven't had the time to finish my mutuals masterlists cries +++
i would love to follow more people ahhhh give me your recs <3

To those…
that scroll through my page to see what I enjoy
that, despite their depression, crack a smile for the first time in days at something I share or write before scrolling on
that “like” a post to save it for later
that feel a sense of joy, or paralyzing engagement, or even arousal at my writing
that laugh when I shit post
that reblog my work to share their excitement
that leave me long messages in my asks outlining what they appreciate about me as a writer and thinker
that share gifs with me
that enjoy my work and click the “like” button to show their appreciation
that run over to ao3 to read my stories and bookmark/subscribe/leave kudos/comment
that send me fic requests and asks
that message me through Tumblr messenger or Discord to talk about OCs and writing ideas
that beta my writing
that lurk my blog and read without any trace of them being there
…you are why I do this. I love this fandom, and yet I realize that it doesn’t owe me a damn thing. Do I live for the notes and messages and asks and comments and kudos? Absofuckinglutely. Feedback is like crack to me. Is it required currency for me to create? No.
I am not the kind of writer that can pump out chapter after chapter of writing or idea after idea of stories that spread like wildfire. I’m learning to accept that about myself. This is a hobby, as it should be, and I love to read and create with others on this app. I’ve met so many lovely friends and have been exposed to new and exciting things. Isn’t that enough? Shouldn’t it be?
All I ask is that you enjoy yourself in what I create and continue to spread the creativity yourself.

TJANK FUCKING GOD YOURE TALKING ABOUT THE R@PE SHIT IN THIS FANDOM. I'm actually in disbelief of how often it's being written. And I get the whole 'dont like, then scroll' and whatever, but when I open up my dash/tags and the first FIVE FUCKING FICS are r@pe fics???? And there's more every day, by the same, but also newer writers??? Wanna know what that is? Normalization. There's one blog on here that's so so so bad for it. And honestly, I get darker content, and I get the interest in rape from a psychological and conditional aspect, but that is when it's being taken seriously. These writers on here? Yeah, they're not fucking taking it seriously. If I see one more '💕🌷🎀' on a r@pe fic, I'm going to fucking lose it.
I can't imagine showing a survivor of SA one of these fics and telling them there is more like it. Like... How embarrassing. But the excuse is that the writers were SA'd and that this is the way they can work through their trauma. Personally, that literally does not add up to me. But! I'm not a psychologist so I can't dictate how someone works through their trauma. But, I can have an opinion on what they put on a public domain. And that's where the whole COD fandom issue lies. There is literally no healthy discourse. If you ask someone why they write about r@pe, they either block you, publicly slander you like you're the idiot for asking about a r@pe fic (???), or tell you to fuck off or something. Like... Why can't we just have a healthy discussion about it?? ESPECIALLY in a fandom with a pretty large female following. We SHOULD be talking about this not being hostile to each other, writers and readers alike.
Idk, sorry for the word dump. I spent four hours talking to a friend about this (who doesn't have Tumblr) and the general consensus was the same. I wish people could just think a little more critically. Just because you have a kink, or think somethings hot, doesn't always mean it's okay. And when you're consistently writing about it as a way to work through it, and posting it online, that just might be a sign that you should talk to a professional, cause there's nothing wrong with getting a second opinion.
took the fucking words outta my mouth babe. you are so RIGHT
tbh i never seen someone actively open about their trauma and say that they write the r*** fics as a way for them to cope. that’s definitely new to me. i mean, i’m no expert too and i can’t exactly say and tell them how to feel but yea that’s a little… bizarre. whether or not they’re using that as an excuse so they can write it i have nothing to say abt that. but if it’s a lie then they can go fuck themselves.
it’s not only this fandom i believe, right? there’s gotta be more and that’s the most fucked up thing about it. like i do not need to know you’re some mentally fucked individual who enjoys writing and reading about r*** content, u keep that shit to yourself. do not bring that bullshit here.
it’s pretty saddening to know that telling ppl to fuck off is their only response. which makes me realized that they are only good for one thing. how could you not have any ounce of decency in you to actually be aware of those things and realize that r*** is not okay and will never be okay?? I don’t care what’s the excuse or whatever reasons u want to bring to the table. if u don’t wanna talk about how r*** takes the joy out of a SA victim and leave a permanent scar in which they have to live with everyday, then there is no point in writing them at all.
and also, you know what saddens me more? the blogs that normally write them comes from women. because, man… you should’ve known better… you should’ve known that no woman on earth could ever live in peace knowing that one exact fear is the reason why we are so terrified of going out alone. why we are so terrified of men. why would you ever go out your way and change these beautiful characters to be some sort of evil spawn ?? weird ass bitches.
don’t be sorry for the word dump!! because i’m glad that some of you came into my inbox and expressed your thoughts about this particular bullshit.
they do need to get some help. and i mean this in the most nicest and disrespectful way possible tbh.

THIS IS A PSA TO ALL FANFIC READERS:
if you don't reblog our fics or leave comments, we DON’T know you like them.
As far as I'm concerned there's only 1 person that likes my fics because that's the only reblog/comment I get whenever I put something out.
this is a small fandom. I don't expect hundreds of reblogs or comments and I knew that when I started writing for it. but I see the same people day after day like my fics, but they never comment or reblog or send nice anons(unless i mention i’m sad/insecure, like last night). it's hard not to see that as "oh this person was just scrolling and they saw I posted something so they just liked it and didn’t read it" when you don't interact in any way besides that.
I don't know why you guys are so hesitant to show appreciation to fic writers, but I'll tell you right now that whatever the reason it can be overcome.
If you're embarrassed: trust me the fic writer is going feral that you said anything at all and you being weird or cringe is the furthest thing from their mind. you're literally the exact opposite of cringe in that moment and that fic writer wants to be your best friend, bake your favorite cookies and dedicate their life's work to you.
if you don’t want to ruin your blog/aesthetic: make a new one. that way you’ll have all your favorite fics in one place, you can organize them by character, etc. It’s a win-win.
if you think they won’t care: THEY WILL. They will love and remember you forever even if you just said something like “this is great!”
In our heads we fear expressing appreciation and love because we think that people already know how amazing they are. I mean why wouldn't they? they're doing this and doing that and because they're so amazing there's no need for me to tell them. surely they already know?
they don't.
think of all the insecurities, worries etc that you have on a daily basis. your favorite fic writer has those too. i'm not a great writer and i doubt i’m anyone’s favorite, but every time i post a fic all i can think is: “wow this sucks” “my last fic was better” “x writer is so much better than me” “maybe i should stop writing” “should i even bother posting this” “does anyone even care if i post anything”
i’m not saying that to ask for pity or to get people to validate my insecurities, but rather to illustrate that this is what might be going through your favorite fic writer’s head. As amazing as you think their fics are while you’re reading them, unless you TELL THEM THAT they probably think it’s horrible.
and if that’s not enough motivation, then maybe this will be:
Like I said, this is a small fandom. if the few people that read them don't tell us they like them/share them, why would we continue writing for it? what would be the point? we could continue to have our little daydreams and our private conversations without spending hours and hours writing fics, and the only person who'd be missing out on that would be YOU.
and BTW if you send anon hate, you’re literally making that person more likely to stop writing. and if you ask me that seems counterintuitive to the reason you’re sending anon hate in the first place(aka, to complain that your fic writer isn’t putting out the content you want to see). if you want your favorite writer to write more, JUST TELL THEM. “can you write more for *insert character here*?” “can you write this scenario?”
so, if you want to continue enjoying the free content these writers provide and ensure they come out with new stuff: reblog. comment.
let them know you care and appreciate their contributions, or they will go somewhere else where they will be appreciated.

Hello new users! I know everyone is making these posts, but I’m just gonna add my two cents, especially if you’re a writer/reader:
Writers:
1. Tag your shit properly. If there are trigger warnings in your fic, you better fucking tag them. Don’t censor the trigger word either. I’m sure you’ve seen it going around on many posts but you censoring the word makes it hard for users to blacklist stuff. Same goes for “x reader” or “x oc”. You better fucking tag that
2. You can asks for prompts! It’s a great way to connect with people and get your writing out there!
3. If you have certain fandoms that you write for, you can make a pinned post listing what fandoms you write for, what type of fics/prompts you’re willing to write and what you’re not willing to write. Writing this out makes it easy for people to see what’s okay and what’s not okay to send you prompt wise. You can use my pinned post as an example: ☆゚・:*:・。★゚ FANDOMS, OTPS AND TROPES ★。・:*:・゚☆
4. Reblog prompt lists! Prompt lists are a great way for you to get your brain juices flowing if you don’t want to have to think of prompts for yourself! (Just note that even if you reblog prompt lists, people might not send you prompts. Don’t take it personally)
5. Reblog questions/asks games about fanfiction/writing! If you love talking about your works as much as I do, these ask games are a great way to talk about your fics and again, interact with your mutuals (Again, just note that even if you reblog these games, people might not send you asks/questions. Don’t take it personally)
6. If you see someone else have the same idea as you for a fic, that’s okay! Go ahead and write your fic anyways the way you want to. It’s your fic and you’re not stealing anyone else’s spotlight for liking an idea and wanting to write about it. If people send you hate for it, just delete it or block them. That’s a them problem, not a you problem
7. Easy way for people to find your writing is if you use a tag like “nickname or username writes”. I use “sass writes” that goes on every prompt/fic that I’ve written so that it’s easy for people to find your fics within your blog
8. Make a masterlist of all the fics you write! That way they’re all in one place and again, it makes it easy for people to find your work and not have to scroll endlessly through your blog (it helps if you reblog the masterlist every now and then whenever you update it. I’d say reblog it after every couple of fics posted, just so that your mutuals know that “oh hey, more fics have been posted”)
9. Follow other writers! Get to be their friends! We’re all really nice here and we want to encourage your writing! Bouncing off ideas with other writers is literally the best thing ever!
10. It’s okay to reblog your own work! Lots of us live in different time zones so reblogging your work is great for those of us who didn’t get to see your work when you originally posted it. And you’re allowed to reblog your own work as many times as you want, it’s your blog, go fucking nuts
11. If you have an AO3 account, cross post your work! If you answer tumblr prompts here, post them over on AO3 so your AO3 readers can enjoy them and if you post works over there, cross-post your works here so that your followers can reblog/like your work and go check it out. AO3 has a “tumblr” button whenever you click “share” so it allows cross-posting!
12. If you have an on-going series that you’re posting here, ask people if they’d like to be added to a tag list so that they can be notified every time you post a new chapter
Readers:
13. Unless the writer asks for concrit or feedback on their fics, DO NOT fucking give it to them. If they didn’t ask, don’t say it. If you wouldn’t say it to a person irl, don’t say it to a person online. This isn’t English class. We’re not asking you to peer review our work and make comments about it
14. Writers do, however, love receiving comments, so feel free to scream in the tags about our fics, scream about it in the replies, or even send us asks and give a whole ass book report. We love book reports on our fics so don’t be afraid to send us some. And even if you don’t know what to comment, commenting an emoji or an “I like this” is enough. We promise you, there’s no right or wrong way to comment your love for a fic
15. Many other creators have said this but REBLOG OUR WORKS. It means a lot to us writers to know that people enjoy our work and want to keep it on their blog. Liking our fic is fine, but we prefer reblogs (but we’re not gonna get up in arms about it if you don’t. Some do, some don’t. I’m one of the people who don’t)
16. Same rule that applies to AO3 writers applies to writers on here: we do not harass an author about chapter updates. We don’t do that. For many of us, writing is a hobby, not a full time job. So please be patient with us if we’re answering prompts or working on new chapters. Harassment will only either get you blocked or have the chapters delayed because of the constant nagging
17. If you want to send a prompt to your favorite author, you don’t have to send it with your blog attached! Sending it via anonymous is a-okay. If it helps, you can sign off with a little emoji and it sort of becomes like your thing, especially if the author you send asks to has a tagging system (like I do) where they tag their anons with a special tag. It makes you feel connected and special with the person you’re interacting with
General Rules:
18. DO NOT TOUCH A WRITER’S WORK. DO NOT REPOST/RETOUCH OUR WORKS OR ON GOD WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY. DO NOT TOUCH A CC’S WORK EITHER, GIF MAKERS AND ARTISTS ESPECIALLY. WE WORK HARD AND SOMETIMES SPEND HOURS ON OUR CRAFT AND IF YOU REPOST OUR WORKS, YOU WILL GET BLOCKED. BY A LOT OF PEOPLE. BECAUSE WE WILL GO AND TELL OTHER CREATORS WHAT YOU’RE DOING AND HAVE THEM BLOCK YOU. SO IF YOU DON’T WANT THAT, DON’T REPOST/RETOUCH OUR SHIT. AND FOR THE LOVE OF FUCKING GOD, DON’T YOU FUCKING DARE PUT OUR SHIT INTO AI. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR PRIVILEGES TO ALL FORMS OF ART IF YOU FUCKING DO THAT. SO DON’T EVEN FUCKING THINK ABOUT IT
19. And finally DO NOT TAG YOUR ANTI STUFF WITH THE SHIP TAG. If you’re against a ship or a pairing or whatever, make sure you put “anti-” before whatever ship or pairing you’re talking about. Do NOT clog the tag with your negativity or you will get blocked. We’re all just trying to have a good time here so please don’t make other people’s experience shitty by you not knowing how to properly tag your discourse/dislike of a ship/pairing
Anyways, have a great time here, we’re all really nice and we all want you to thrive! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

hey. i'm new on tumbrl. can you recommend some blogs to follow (both ikemen related and others you enjoy)?
Hello, anon!
Oooh... I think I have a few ideas 🤔 Aside from myself, of course 😂
@spoopy-fish-writes (and all their other blogs) - Ikemen Fandom, lots of amazing doodles and scribbles
@venulus - multifandom (lots of otome, but also other media), I looove her reader inserts!!
@ahanenohi - IkeSen fanfic writer, her descriptions are top notch, it's always worth waiting for another update
@nuttytani - multifandom (Ikemen and other media). Wonderful fiction, occasional wallpapers and aesthetic that can make your heart go doki doki
@the12thnightproject - IkeSen fanfic writer (who may also be preparing something really exciting for the near future, cough cough). Impromptu writes mostly multi-chapter fics, but let me tell you, she is a magician.
@cheese-ception - occasional sketches and scribbles, Ikemen Fandom and Obey Me. Her artstyle looks so light 😭❤️
@ana-thedaydreamer - AMAZING IKEVAMP ARTIST. Listen. You must see her panels. You just must.
@ashavazesa - her pencil sketches are to die for. Literally. Absolutely beautiful. Asha puts so much effort into her craft it's impossible not to appreciate it.
@hideoutpastel - another godly artist. Make sure to check out her Twitter too. Ikemen, Obey Me, Genshin - no matter the fandom, pure pleasure for the eyes.
@kippin-art - HAVE YOU SEEN KIPPIN'S MASAMUNE ART? HAVE YOU? if no, then the prize for this rec list is going to see it, because damn anon, YOU MUST. Even if you don't like Masamune, IT'S SO SOFT AND PEACEFUL AND JUST AAAAH. (Just kidding about the price, but really, go check kippin's stuff out).
@ikesenwritings - realllyyyy nice IkeSen content, go, go. Her writing is so soothing.
@aaviav - multifandom; scroll back a little for stunning Ikemen works. Her style is really unique!
@shamylicious-blog - multifandom; NaruHina and general otome vault. Just ❤️ *chef's kiss*
@creations-of-a-certain-no-one - multifandom; looooots of great fanart
@tsubaki3192 - multifandom; Tsu's not very active, but the stuff on her masterlist - pure gold. I adore her character studies (and have probably said so over a 100 times by now)
@qaanngi - multifandom; that IkeSen cyberpunk AU? It gave my life. Lots of good stuff, just scroll back a little bit or search through tags.
@siebenschoen - IkeSen; !!! YUKIMURA IN HER STYLE IS SO SO SO SWEET. JUST LOOK AT THOSE DRAWINGS. AND SASUKE TOO. JUST. LOOK.
Just a few folks off the top of my head 😵 I have more, but... I don't remember usernames 😖
Also, everybody, please, do feel encouraged to share your own recs and to self-promo 😉❤️

what do you wish your followers would do? i’m just confused bc you’re asking for feedback but scrolling through your blog it seems like people give you kind feedback all the time. plus your posts get over like 800 notes, from reblogs, nice comments and likes.
what is it you’re hoping for from us? what could we say that’ll change the way you’re doing this? bc from what I can see you’re not fishing for compliments you get plenty without asking. are you asking people to get really constructive? or just wanting to gauge the public opinion?
honestly, all i'm looking for is a simple - i've enjoyed it or whatnot. i do receive wonderful feedback, but it is scarce. and just here's an entire essay explaining my view on it lol :
part of my writing insecurity definitely plays a part, and to be brutally honest - i follow so so so so so many amazing writers who are insanely talented and i envy them soo much <333 i wish i had half their talent. and rightfully deserved of course - i often see them receiving a simple 'i enjoyed ....' being sent to their inbox - and i've sent the same to many many writers too!!! but, i don't tend to get a lot of those, and sometimes i realllly get into my head about it. i'm worried that i'm doing something wrong, or my writing is just plain awful.
and i've talked about this to several of my lovely mutuals too - likes only mean so much, you know? like absolutely - likes, reblogs, and feedback are not necessary - but when they are received, it changes the game entirely. it motivates me to write, and especially helps with writer's block. in addition, i have a folder of kind feedback screenshots i've received within the past few months, and i often go back to that in times i just hate what i write. it's kinda tricky to explain, but likes have a vague meaning. don't get me wrong at all, if someone likes a post of mine, that's so incredibly appreciated and again, not necessary. but a like only goes so far, and majority of my notes on fics are simply likes. like what prompted this person to like it? i would love to hear what they liked if anything, but again, it's not necessary. so if someone was open to sharing, i would love to hear - so when asking for feedback, that's what i'm looking for.
also, constantly requests are sent to my inbox, which is AMAZING and i feel so so thankful and grateful to receive so many because y'all are trusting me with your ideas and i genuinely hope i give them the justice they deserve in return - but that's the only thing i get sent. it makes me feel like a machine in a way - like oh people only care about content, me writing their idea and not me as a person? i tend to make mountains out of molehills - but that worries me in a way because it makes me feel like i'm unapproachable? idk. i want my blog to be a place where we can all talk about aaron, about anything, and although i've been active on tumblr for nearly a year, i still feel like a constant outsider. so again, it's probably just my insecurities speaking, but i truly hope i don't come off as unapproachable, because i promise i'm such an easy person to talk to, i care about you all so much, i want my blog and writing to be a safe escape for others, and i just constantly feel lonely on here. i just don't know what to do in that situation i guess, because again i'm always terrified to talk to others or come off as anon because i don't want to be annoying or something of the sort.
i hope that answers your questions, and i hope any fellow writers can relate 🫶🏻

hello hello~! this is not an ask or anything, more so pointed towards the readers; in and out of the discord. I'll break what I'm about to say into smaller sections to try and get it through some of your thick heads(I mean this lovingly, mostly.)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, just READ if requests are opened or closed. I'm tired of seeing our dear author getting frustrated with people merely not seeing or straight up ignoring it. they've even placed "closed' in their bio for easy accessibility for everyone. do not be one of those people who merely skips around and thinks it's ok to send something in without checking rules FIRST. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO THE UPDATE SCHEDULE WHICH IS LOCATED ON THEIR PINNED POST!! PLEASE STOP FILLING THE INBOX WITH EASY ANSWERED QUESTIONS, IT WILL GET CLOGGED.
2. For the love of morax, PLEASE, stop going into anon mode when it is available to shit on author's work because YOU don't like it. because guess what?? NO ONE CARES! if it's such "bad" writing MOVE ON, have your parent figures never taught you the saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, then dont say it."?? it's SO easy to go "eh I'm not into their content" and SCROLL AWAY, OR EVEN BLOCK THE PERSON! please use your brains and THINK, because I can guarantee this doesn't make you look "badass" or "unique". at most, a handful of you end up being huge memes and seen as absolutely idiotic inside the discord for letting something as simple as FANFICTION, make you upset.
3. On a softer note, I KNOW what I'm about to get into is more so with genuinely curious people, i hope. when author posts anything angst related, please do NOT flood the inbox asking if there is comfort somewhere in said fic. why? well author does this neat thing where the writing is hidden underneath the "read more" button. plus, she DOES put at the very top, right under the title, what kind of genre the fic is. you don't have to continually ask in her inbox what genre this fic is, because I PROMISE YOU; it's in the fic description at the top. I know anxiety might weight heavy on some who ask this question, but it would be easier on you AND author if you simply opened the fic you are curious about; read the genre as well as the description attached. author is VERY good at making sure warnings are properly labeled, she'd never try to hurt someone on purpose through possibl triggering content. so please, make this easier on everyone and read the tops of her fics before flooding the inbox. it helps keep it a little cleaner, and able to see what requests/brainrots she has.
i try not to be rude about this, but the amount of times author has expressed some sort of problem makes my blood boil. I love her writings as much as the rest of you, but you MUST remember she has a life outside of this blog. she has things to do, or hobbies to interact with. she is not some machine that is capable of pumping out idea after idea after idea. she is HUMAN, like the rest of us. she needs rest, she needs food, she needs BREAKS. As a writer myself, writing is very time consuming, as well as exhausting. do not push author too hard, burnout can happen at anytime. merely enjoy the works she pushes out, and respect her choices in what to do next. thank you.
sincerely,
-🧸 anon
Damn, 🧸 anon popping off in the inbox! I hope you're doing well, 🧸 anon ❤️ I lowkey feel like even if I did answer this ask, people will still not read or see it LMAO 🥲 I appreciate you very much 🧸 anon! You and all of my mods in the server, who I consider to be friends of mine ^^
Also, this week's fanfic is currently in the process of being uploaded, so keep an eye out for them :>

Hi Alice 👋
How are you doing? I hope you're great and your days are full of beautiful things. As an amazing writer, your messages and ask box are probably full of texts, so I wish you'd see this message and have the time to answer.
I'm Violet, and I'm a great fan of your work. Although I'm mostly a silent reader and don't interact with your posts, you're one of my favorite witers, and I've read such great works from your page. The reason I'm writing this message is that I wanted to start writing here on tumblr, but I'm lost. The thing is that nowadays, most of NCT's fanfictions on this platform are pure smut without any interesting plot and stories, which get lots of attention too. While I'm scrolling here, usually I don't find anything interesting enough to read and enjoy, something that will spark your interest that you want to read nonstop until you finish that and it occupies your mind for days( I remember those ol' good times I'd read EXO's fanfiction on asianfanfics and such wonderful stories they were...) so that being said, I really wanted to write fanfics on here. Something with a good story and complex plot, not just a smut scene putting together to satisfy our single soul(sigh...) and not to say that whatever I have in mind are great stories or anything, it's just that I really want to share these ideas with other people and write stories for NCT whom are my biggest muse.
But unfortunately, English is not my first language, and the result wouldn't be that good. Also, it takes lots of time from me to try and write in English compared to when I write in my mother language( there's also all grammatical errors too)
So it has discouraged me to start writing on here ever since I had all these stories idea and writing drafts.
And I wanted to ask you whether you could give me some advice on what should I do?
Or whether you think it's a good choice to give my drafts and ideas to some other writers here to write for me?
Sorry for all the mistakes
LYSM 💕 and thank you
hihi there love !! ♡ i hope you’re having a wonderful day/night so far :’) i’m sorry this took so long for me to see omg!! i’ve been so mia from this blog and tumblr itself actually i’ve just realized 🤧
also it’s nice to meet you violet 🥰💗 you have such a pretty name!! also i’m so honored that i’m one of your favorite authors that means so much to me 🥹🥹
oh yes i definitely understand the want to share your works !! i feel like it’s every fic writer’s mindset to write their own story when they can’t find one to read that tailors to every niche interest they’re looking for (ME) 🤭 it’s definitely intimidating tho to share your works online but i think it can be very rewarding !! i would honestly tell you to go for it and post what you wanna write :’) english isn’t my first language either but writing honestly helped me improve a lotttt 🥹 i actually read my old fics the other day when i wrote for anime fandoms/pjo and they were pretty embarrassing to look back on ngl LMFOAJDJF but it’s rlly nice to see how your writing develops and progresses as you grow 💞
proofreading is rlly helpful when you’re writing and there’s plenty of software out there that can help you check grammar and punctuation !! you should try grammarly :’) it’s reeeally easy to just put your fic through grammarly and clear up the errors before you post 🥰 or you can join networks/servers and see if you can ask someone to beta read for you!! it’s definitely intimidating but i think it’s great that you’re already taking the first step to ask what you can do 💗💗 hope the writing goes well love !!

what fics are you currently reading? what do too recc? what are your all time faves? what are you guilty pleasures? what do you look for when searching for a fic?
Well, it can be tough to keep up with fic reading and writing, especially when you have a lot of WIPs. I do try to read, though, because I enjoy it. I read when I need a break or before bed, whenever I find the time and feel like it.
That being said, I'm not reading one fic in particular right now, or even several. I tend to jump around, reading whatever I come across that seems interesting and oftentimes re-reading favorites. Whatever I'm in the mood for. I tend to read more one-shots these days because it's less of a time commitment.
So, I don't usually like to rec fics because I don't want to exclude anyone and cause any hurt feelings. There are soo many fics and talented writers out there. It can be kinda overwhelming at times; it definitely was when I first started reading THG fics. I have authors I subscribe to and A LOT of fics I've enjoyed and would rec, but it's just too many to list out. I'd tell you to look at my bookmarks with the rec button checked on AO3, but it's kinda a hot mess right now, haha.
Also, it depends on what you like, what genres/tropes, styles, ratings, etc. And since I don't know what you like (or what all you've read so far), best I can do is mention some resources:
@everlarkficquestions has a really nice masterlist. Not every fic out there has been included because it's practically impossible to keep up, though they've done a great job of it. I like having the neat categories to scroll through.
There are some prompt/drabble blogs out there if you like drabbles/ficlets, such as @seasonsofeverlark, @talesofpanem, @promptsinpanem, @everlarkficexchange as well as some newer ones: @promptseverlark and @ouateverlark. The latter two are just starting out, but be on the lookout for those fics to come. Some of those drabbles/ficlets have been turned into multichapter fics as well.
@thgdiscovery randomly features THG writers and their fics, so you could scroll through there and see if anything jumps out at you. And @mrs-hawthornes-toreadlist features a bunch of current and older fics as well.
You can also just go to AO3 and search with filters for the tags you want to read.
What do I do when I search for a fic? Any and all of the above. I like the masterlists a lot, and I save a lot of fics for later, so I usually have no shortage of fics to read/re-read, although sometimes I get "reader's block" and don't know what I want to read, lol. Usually, something will jump into my head that I feel like reading, though, and I'll go looking for that. Or, I'll scroll the lists.
I read a lot of AUs, though I also like canon and canon-divergent "This would have happened anyway” and “Growing Back Together.” I enjoy friends to lovers, roommates, single parent, age gap, etc. I actually read a little of everything, so... Most genres/tropes are not off limits to me for reading; I will usually give anything a chance, though I do have my preferred ones and my no-nos.
Hope that's somewhat helpful! Good luck!
P.S. If I’ve left off any helpful blogs for fics, feel free to add to my list! I haven’t been around for as long as some of you, so I’m open to suggestion!

fanfic writer tag from google bc i cant find any of those cool posts with all the questions and i'm not about to go to.......... a certain blog, let's say, to find them
do you read or write fanfiction and why?
what kinda goofy ass question—
2. how and when did you discover fanfiction? how old were you?
10-ish, maybe? i thought that there might be a few people writing stories about stories. i was right. i very much enjoyed the harvest moon fics. got scarred for life tho
3. how has fandom and fiction evolved since you found it?
ig people are starting to leave comments and stuff as it becomes more widely known that fanfic writers eat that shit up?
4. do you still engage with it in the way you used to?
yes next question
5. which fandoms do you enjoy reading/writing?
league of legends... and matching rpf... hmmm. reading the tags as I'm scrolling through for my scraps of content. uhhhh... rwby? Pokémon?
we don't talk about my warrior cat fic. i have to finish it, ok??? dont judge me
6. who are your otps?
i went to sleep instead of answering this question, does that answer your question
7. have you told anyone you write fanfiction?
some people think I'm joking. my mom thinks i should be a published author. i have not been able to explain to her that it's a Bit Different.
8. what does fanfiction mean to you?
we cope. canon is fake. idk. it's fun to write. fun to read. thats an oddly philosophical question for 10am
9. Do you prefer canon-based fanfiction or AU? (so fanfiction that slots seamlessly into the original story or ‘alternate universe’ fanfiction where the world is slightly different)
as u can see by the capitalization i copy pasted this one bc i wasn't about to type all of it. um. im an au enjoyer. canon is fake. i say, as if ppau isn't "canon compliant"
10. tell us about a fanfiction you've either read or written
i wrote showmaker nsfw once and it went like this
"showmaker runs with scissors"
thats all. im supposed to tag people to do this but u know who u are, and besides, my school wifi is blocking me

do you have a wifi 5 ish person follow forever list? I trust your judgment 😌
Well, first of all, I’m honored! And second of all, since you and I move in the same GG circle, I went extracurricular with these recs. I hope you enjoy!
@anneofgreengaybles: I came for the hilarious and adorable dispatches from her elementary school classroom, and stayed for the everything else
@firstfullmoon: literature blog of all time. I think we have similar tastes in writers and poetry, and I’ve discovered so many wonderful writers from her.
@shitpostsampler: cross-stitching is kind of a dormant hobby for me atm, but I love seeing what these guys cook up bc it is always hilarious. And, they make a point to share their patterns for free (with a pay-what-you-can system) and I, a librarian living paycheck to paycheck, very much appreciate that.
@celinamarniss: a great writer and fellow Mara Jade stan. In a vast fandom, it is necessary to only follow and interact with those of good taste and talent. And they are one of them. They also rb some fic writing tips and reference that I appreciate!
@janeaustentextposts: has not been active in a while, admittedly, but the memes that made the blog what is was in its heyday always hit, and the blogger is an expert on all things Austen Adjacent, and shares very thoughtful, well-rounded analysis on Janey-girl’s works. They got me to finally read Persuasion, for which I am forever grateful!
@thenordroom: if you’re into interior design-y aesthetic-vibey things, I really like scrolling through this blog. Much moodboarding and fic world-building and daydreaming has been fueled by this blog (they also tag location, which I very much appreciate)

Welcome to my blog!
My name is K and I am going to go on a rant so that if you stumble across this blog, you understand its purpose.
I signed up for Tumblr maybe 5 years ago and have been reading fanfics ever since. Tumblr is my safe space. I have anxiety and insomnia and found that scrolling through Tumblr before I go to bed and reading fanfics is one of the best ways to calm me down and help me go to sleep. Aside from liking posts here and there, I haven’t interacted much with other blogs on here.
I am not the best at maintaining friendships in real life as socializing can be exhausting and sometimes stressful for me. When people text or call me, I have a tendency to not respond for long periods of time. I always figured this tendency would carry over into any interactions I had on Tumblr. I worried that I would feel obligated to respond and wouldn’t open Tumblr until I was ready to interact (which could be days/weeks). I also don’t typically like being seen online for some reason (I barely even post/interact on my personal social media). Like I said, Tumblr is my safe space, so I never interacted with anyone as I was paranoid about losing that safe space.
I understand that re-blogging is one of the most important ways to help creators on this platform. To all the writers out there, I’m sorry that I have been selfishly consuming your amazing stories and not doing anything to show my appreciation. I truly admire your work and talent. As someone whose worst subject in school was always English, I wish I could possess your writing abilities. Thank you for helping me through so much these past few years. Moving forward, I am going to do my best to re-blog your work that I enjoy.
When I first joined Tumblr, I mostly read for Bucky Barnes. Now I mostly read for Rafe Cameron and JJ Maybank. I am also going to try and go back through my Likes and re-blog to give those fics/writers the love I didn’t fully give them before. I will mainly be re-blogging content for the below characters. There will be 18+ content so MINORS DNI!
-Bucky Barnes
-Steve Rogers
-JJ Maybank
-Rafe Cameron
-Other Sebastian Stan or Chris Evans characters
If anyone is still here, thank you for reading <3. Also, I am open to interacting, I might just not respond in a timely manner lol

can i aka how people can propery tag their headcannons. I just want to do it right but like lets says its multiple characters should we not put character x reader or yes? Like how can we tag it properly!
I think first and foremost you need to ask yourself why am I posting this? If it’s because it’s actual content you think others will enjoy then I would say please tag, if it’s for attention and brings no value to the tags, use your own tags.
For example, a post with “I want to ride Bakugou’s perky nipples” does not need to be tagged with:
Tumblr media
Is it smut? No. Does it belong in these tags? No.
Do I also want to ride Bakugou’s perky nipples? Yes.
So what tag would I use for this? My own personal tag (mine is #jo talks, but obviously yours may be different), potentially #bakugou thirst but honestly you’re on thin fucking ice if you do this… but at least you’re not saturating the x reader/smut tags and making it difficult to find actual fanfiction.
Also the fact that the tags #bnha #mha #bakugo and #katsuki will mean this appears in the main fandom tags, not just fanfiction tags. So you’re potentially bringing a slew of antis/minors/DNI criteria to your blog.
The other posts that people generally make with multiple characters are this style of post:
Tumblr media
There is absolutely no reason why this post would need more than 3/4 main tags if you really wanted it in the main tags. But people will make these posts to deliberately tag them with every single character individually.
Now. If you wanted to make the same post as above but include why they enjoy drinking their cum from a sippy cup or straight from the source, I’d say tag it x reader or multiple characters because at least then you’re bringing some value to the tags. You’re providing content that people can actually read and enjoy, not just shoving names in a line because you want to make it into as many tags as possible (or cross tag fandoms to reach more people).
Something like this:
Tumblr media
Credit: Cum headcanons by @/touyaspeach.
There is actual content here. This is when it would be acceptable to tag multiple characters, but only the characters that appear in the post.
Yes, it is annoying that more people would see your random thoughts and interact with you and we don’t like it when our posts don’t get attention. But the bigger picture is when you do this you’re effectively blocking people who spend hours and sometimes days/weeks from appearing near the top of the tags.
Also. If your post is just:
Tumblr media
This does not belong in main tags, you’re literally hindering writers when you do this. Imagine if someone scrolled past a fic you’d poured your heart and soul into because they were trying to skim quickly, or your fic got buried under tens of posts like this? Or people have stopped going through the tags because of posts like this… Because that’s genuinely what the character tags are like right now.
Tumblr tags are already flawed, and when you abuse them like this you’re just making it worse. Their search system is nowhere near as comprehensive as a site like ao3 or even Lunaescence. It’s so much harder to find fanfics on this site and after speaking to friends a lot of them no longer use the main tag search because of the people that abuse it.
Please think about what you’re tagging before you tag it, it’s not a cute quick way to get popular, it’s a nuisance for authors who crave those great comments/reblogs on their hard work.

Paparazzi.
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x F!Reader
Genre: Fluff, Angst
Warnings: TOO META, m*sturbation, mentions of s*x
Requested: nope
Summary: I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me... Y/N Y/L/N writes Marvel fanfictions. One day, Sebastian stumbles upon her account and, unable to help himself, reads all the stuff she has written about him. He didn't mean to fall so hard for her but he does. How can he not? She has shown him parts of himself that he never even knew existed.
Author's Note: Hiya peeps! Okay so a few weeks ago I read a similar (but dark) fanfic and I really wanted to write a softer version of it... Enjoy!
---
Same old, boring routine.
Y/N hit post and slumped against the headrest of her bed, sighing. She waited; a minute, then two passed and she noticed that someone had liked her post. She smiled to herself as she kept her phone away. Though boring, she wouldn't trade her life for the world. Y/N… well, she was a university student first and foremost but she was also a writer.
Being a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she had started writing fanfictions a few years ago. She posted them on Tumblr, where her blog, though not very well-known, stood out enough for her posts to get around 800-1000 likes per post. She loved it; she loved writing, she loved posting her stories and especially, she loved the feedback.
Sometimes people were rude, but most times, the reviews she got were fantastic. She read each and every one of them, smiling goofily as people freaked out over her fanfictions. It warmed her heart. A smile automatically blooming on her face, Y/N lay down on the bed and decided to go to sleep, it being almost 3 am.
Unbeknownst to her, someone else was up at the same time, tossing and turning in his bed, restless.
Sebastian sighed as he sat up, running a hand through his hair. He drank some water and lay down again, closing his eyes but it was like sleep was mad at him. Refused to be anywhere near him. He groaned to himself and picked up his phone from the nightstand, deciding to go through Instagram, hoping he'd finally fall asleep to the glare of the screen.
As he logged into his account, he skipped the activity page and went straight to the explore page. Bored, he continued scrolling until his eyes landed on a specific photo. And the breath escaped his lungs when he clicked on it; the woman in the picture was absolutely gorgeous. He just couldn't resist going to her page, smiling widely when he read her bio.
It gave him her basic information; her name, her age, the university she attended. But what caught his eye was the link below the bio. My Marvel Fanfictions Master List. Marvel fanfictions? She was a writer? Smirking, he clicked on the link and it took him to Tumblr. Of course, he'd heard of the site, but didn't have an account on there. At 3 am, his mind sure wasn't working right.
A post popped up on the screen, the same master list she had mentioned earlier. And his eyes bulged out of their sockets; damn, those are a lot of fanfictions. He went through the whole thing, smirking again when he noticed that she had written the most fanfictions about him. Not Bucky Barnes, no, Sebastian Stan.
He clicked on the first one. The date of posting was way back, in 2019. He started reading; nothing about it felt weird to him; he was intrigued, if anything. And as he continued reading, he couldn't help but imagine her being in the stead of the female protagonist. Her, the writer. The woman whose picture had made him end up reading in the first place.
When he finished the story, his heart thudded wildly in his chest. Wow, she really has a way with words. And he had also noticed how in the author's note, she used a lot of slang but reading the story had made him realize that she had an amazing, extensive vocabulary. He went back to the master list and clicked on the latest post under his name.
Posted: 15 minutes ago.
His breath hitched in his throat when he read the warnings: there was going to be sexual intercourse in this one. For one moment, he hesitated; did he really want to read this? "Oh fuck it," he huffed and scrolled, starting to read. The more he read, the more his shaft twitched in his pants. He wasn't really like that during… but oh damn, he wasn't complaining.
"Oh, Seb…"
His hand slid down and he rubbed himself through his boxers, unable to take his eyes off the text in front of him. His strokes got harder and faster as the sex got steamier. "Ungh, I'm gonna cum—" And he suddenly came in his boxers, groaning. Slumping down on the bed, he quickly finished reading the rest of it, going back to the master list.
He took a screenshot with the account's name in it and then went back to her Instagram account to take another screenshot. Keeping his phone away, he slipped out of his boxers, cleaned himself and pulled the covers on top of him, finally feeling tired enough to fall asleep.
---
Y/N was walking across the campus of her university, going to the cafeteria when her phone buzzed in her pocket. Taking it out, she opened Tumblr to read the message someone had sent her just then.
his-username: Hi there! I was binging your account last night, you write really well
your-username: Omg thank you!!!! I really appreciate it, I love getting feedback! 🥺❤
his-username: You're welcome! Especially your latest post, that was really good ;)
your-username: hehe 😈 glad you liked it!
Smiling widely, she kept her phone away and continued walking, not knowing that the person who had texted her was the same man she had written about. Sebastian smiled to himself when he read her text. After getting up in the morning, the first thing he had done was install Tumblr on his phone. Then he made an account for himself.
Figuring out the app was easy; he found out that there was an option to keep your liked posts and the accounts you followed hidden, and selected it immediately. No one needed to know what he did on the app. Then he went back to her account, pressed the follow button and started binge-reading her fanfictions again. Last night had he read only two, and that had left him wanting more.
Funny how much things can change in a night. He liked and reblogged all her posts without a second thought; he even read all her Bucky Barnes posts. She understood his character so well, put him on what he thought was an undeserved pedestal while writing about him. Some of the stories were AUs, which he found out stood for Alternate Universes. Mostly mobster or mafia stuff.
He had the day off, and he spent the entire time cooped up in his apartment, on his bed, reading. The more he read, the more he started fawning over her, over the version of him that she put out to the world. Dominating, suave and just perfect. He loved it. At the end of the day, he decided to text her again, hoping she wouldn't think he was weird or find out the truth.
his-username: do you wanna be friends, maybe? I'm new to the app, don't really have any friends here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That was a lie, he knew Mark Ruffalo had an active Tumblr account. But it's not like he could tell him.
your-username: Yes sure!!!! I was also thinking of making some friends on this app lol
his-username: You don't have any on here? But you've been here for years, haven't you?
your-username: haha yeah, but I don't really reach out to people much. Sometimes people leave their feedbacks on my posts, text me but that's that
his-username: Ohhh
his-username: well, let's start with names. Mine's Sebastian
your-username: Really?????? omg that's so cool lmaooooooo (didn't think you were a boy but 😳👀)
his-username: Not a boy, I'm a man 😤😂
your-username: 🤣 im y/n, btw
his-username: Y/N, that's a nice name
your-username: thank you!!!! So, what do you do?
his-username: nothing really that interesting, I'm in theatre
your-username: theatre is nice! I'm studying at [university] in New York lmao
his-username: Wait you're in New York? So am I!
your-username: ASDFHKSHKGF that's awesome!!! also I noticed that you've been going through my account the whole day 😏 notifications upon notifications keeping my phone busy
his-username: Oopsie?
your-username: 😂😂 I really don't mind, it was great! Despite the amount of likes on my posts, I only have a few loyal followers lmao gaining one more felt nice
your-username: You a big fan of Sebastian Stan? Cuz I noticed that you were only reading his and Bucky's fics 👀
Sebastian's face heated up.
his-username: kinda yeah 🤷🏻‍♂️😁
your-username: Cool cool cool, I'm a big fan of his too!!!! also got a crush on him but whatever 😳
Sebastian smirked at his phone. A crush on him, huh? That… was acceptable. He suddenly felt his cocky side coming out; the one she described in nearly all her fanfictions.
his-username: wouldn't blame ya, I mean, look at him. You have also written the most fics about him and Bucky
your-username: right????? damn that man has raised my standards. Anyway, I gtg now, I have to finish a paper before midnight. ttyl!
his-username: Bye! 👋🏻
He kept his phone away and took in a deep breath. This was the most fun he had had in years, and he was not letting her go so easy. He realized he was quickly falling for her; rather unhealthy, but he couldn't help it. Look at her. She looks like a goddamn angel, writes like one, makes him feel like one, do you really expect him not to fall for her? That's insane.
---
Months passed by like a breeze. Y/N and Sebastian had become very good friends, and he knew his way around words just enough to keep her from finding out his identity while not lying to her. Y/N also appreciated his friendship, because he was the one to whom she could rant about her most favorite man in the world— Sebastian Stan.
Sometimes, she thought about how weird of a coincidence it was that her new friend and the actor shared the same names, but then she used to brush it off; that was a common name, right? They talked for hours on end; Sebastian (her friend, not the actor) was extremely witty, smart and fun to talk to, she had to admit. Sebastian felt the same way.
His feelings had worsened. Y/N entirely owned his heart now. Somedays, he'd just go on Instagram, go to her account— her username memorized by him— and stare at her photos until he grew tired; he'd never get tired of looking at her beautiful face but his stiff body afterwards begged to differ. She was just so Elysian. He longed for the moment when he could meet her in real life.
His personality had also changed majorly, and people had caught on. Especially his Marvel co-stars, who knew him to be introverted, shy and, in Anthony Mackie's words, "boring". They were surprised at his sudden change in attitude; he knew his worth and Y/N had helped tremendously in finding it. Now, all those adjectives that she used in her fanfictions fit him perfectly.
Sebastian was never tempted to read fanfictions about himself from authors other than Y/N. No, he only loved her work. He was sure no one else could write as beautifully as she did, he was her #1 fan. Y/N even sent him funny Marvel memes she found on the app and he used to enjoy them heartily; God, the others have no idea what they're missing out on. Our fans are awesome.
Everything was going well.
Until one day.
Sebastian was getting bored at home, so he decided to go to the nearby library to clear his mind. He had read not one book in the past few months, hung up on Y/N's fanfictions. At this point, he was obsessed with her and he knew it. It was nothing dark, per se, it was— it was similar to how Y/N was attracted to Sebastian. How she was a fan of his work.
Just the same. He was a fan of her work in the same way. Just how she was attracted to him, he was attracted to her. Walking into the library that he visited often, he gave the librarian a smile and ventured further into the dark place. He checked his watch; the library closed at 12 am, it was currently 9:30 pm.
Not many people were around, heck, nobody was around. He thought himself to be all alone until he heard it. A sigh, coming from a few aisles away. He walked in that direction and peeked around the corner, freezing when he saw the other person. Y/N? Her books were strewn all across the table as she sat alone at the booth, rubbing her temples.
"You okay?"
She looked up and her breath caught in her throat. I'm dreaming. This is not real. Now I know for a fact that Sebastian Stan is not standing in front of me, asking me if I'm— "Hello?" He snapped his fingers in front of her face, pulling her out of her thoughts. "I, uh— I'm— h-hi," she stammered and he almost chuckled. "Hi." She gulped visibly and blinked at the table, not meeting his eyes.
"Can I have a seat?" He wants to sit with me?! "Y-Yes, sure, sir," she blurted out and he easily slid into the booth next to her. "Hey, please, call me Sebastian. What's your name?" He gave her a friendly smile, even though all he wanted to do was push her back into the booth and kiss her wildly. His shaft twitched just by thinking about it; Y/N was a thousand times more beautiful in person.
"I'm Y/N, it's very nice to meet you, I'm… I'm a fan," she admitted, playing with the ring she wore on her left thumb. I'm your fan too, sweetheart, the biggest one. "Y/N, nice name. You come here often? I haven't really seen you around." She shook her head. "Oh no no, I moved to this part of the city just a week ago, this is my first time here. The library is cozy," she shrugged, easing out of her tense position.
Sebastian nodded. "Yes, I know, this place is awesome. Got all my favorite books here," he chuckled and she smiled at him. "What's all this?" A groan left her lips. "Ugh, stupid university work. I have to write a book report but I don't even know what to write about." He smiled gently. "Well, I have a few favorite books, would you like some suggestions?"
"Oh, please! Tell me!"
He started listing some of his favorite works and Y/N noted the names down until he said the last name. At that, she froze. That's the name of my latest— She looked up but he had a smile on his face. "Oh, and the last one is by my favorite author." He took a pause. "Y/N Y/L/N." She froze completely, staring at the man with her jaw dropped.
Sebastian grinned. "We finally meet, Y/N, I've been waiting for months." Her mouth opened and closed several times as she recalled every interaction she had had with her online best friend— scratch that— her celebrity crush. All the times she had confessed her love for Sebastian Stan, all the dirty and inappropriate memes that she'd sent him…
Embarrassment flooded her entire body as she exhaled shakily. "It was you," she croaked out, "On Tumblr, the account— I'm so sorry—" Sebastian frowned in confusion when she blinked back sudden tears, a few still rolling down her cheeks as shame replaced embarrassment. "Y/N, please don't cry…" She looked up at him, his figure blurry due to her tears.
"You've read everything, haven't you? I just— I'm sorry, I don't want to make you uncomfortable—" He pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly. Y/N couldn't hug back, though she appreciated the hug especially since it came from him. "You don't know how much you mean to me, doll," he mumbled into her shoulder, using the nickname she often used in the stories she wrote about him. He grew accustomed to it easily.
"Huh?"
He pulled away to wipe her tears. "It was an accident," he admitted, "But I stumbled onto your Instagram account from my explore page. Then I clicked on your account, saw that you wrote Marvel fanfictions and I just couldn't resist the urge to read what you had written. Blame it on 3 am me, to be honest. You're a great writer, and I was immediately drawn to your works. They're awesome.
"They've helped me so much in the past few months. You see this changed attitude that everyone's been talking about lately? All because of you, sweetheart. I'm sorry for keeping my identity secret, but after reading your works, I knew I had to get closer to you. I made the Tumblr account just for you, just so I could talk to you. I'm sorry for lying, but thank you."
Y/N dumbfoundedly stared at him for a few moments, her heart beat getting steady with each thump. Here was a man she admired, loved more than anyone else in the world, telling her that he harbored the same feelings for her. How crazy was that?! Not trusting her words, she simply pulled him into another hug. Sebastian wrapped his arms tight around her, pulling her flush against him.
"Can I kiss you, doll?"
She slowly pulled away from him and nodded, shyly biting her lip. Grinning at the endearing gesture, Sebastian cupped her face and leaned in, gently pressing his lips to hers. The kiss grew hungry in a matter of seconds, and Y/N responded just as eagerly. His hands slid down to her waist and tugged on it, pulling her on his lap. She straddled his thighs as they continued kissing.
"Fuck," he groaned when they finally pulled away from each other, out of breath and panting. "You see what you do to me, doll?" Sebastian spoke huskily as he took her hand, placing it right on top of the tent that was forming in his pants. "Oh," Y/N whimpered when she felt him, the sound going straight to his shaft. "How about I take you home and we recreate some of the scenes from your stories, hm?"
"O-Okay."
"Good girl."

[Image ID: A black picture with the title “HOW TO SUPPORT FANFICTION AUTHORS” written in bold caps lock, colored with a winter forest picture. End ID.]
Well, this post has been made countless times, but I’m making one too because I’ve seen a lot of people say they’re new to tumblr and don’t know the whole “reblogging is better than liking” rule and other stuff. So without any further ado, here are ways YOU can support the fanfiction authors. Now keep in mind this applies to almost every author out there, not just the stayblr fandom, so if you’re a silent reader (or even if you aren’t), I advise you go through this post. Warning, this is a fairly long post going into detail, so yeah. I still expect you, the readers to read this, and if you’re a writer, feel free to lmk if i’ve written smth wrong or if you want me to add something! ^^
In this post I’ll go into thorough analysis of the pros and cons of each of the methods listed here and how YOU as a reader can show the authors whose fics you read more love and motivate them to produce content.
WARNING; LONG POST! GOES INTO A DECENT AMOUNT OF DETAIL. NOT EDITED, EXCUSE ANY TYPOS.
Tumblr media
#1 : LIKING !
I think this is basic common knowledge, and a lot of people tend to do this. When you like the post, the author sees it, you see it, and if the author has their liked posts accessible (which majority of the time they don’t), and if someone deliberately goes to check it, then they see it. See why so many authors say just liking does nothing? Only liking says “Hey, I’m gonna tell you your story is not that good by simply liking it and not sharing it with other people. :D”
♯ PROS:
You’re telling the author that you've read their fic, and either you’ve enjoyed it to a certain extent, or you’re just saving it to read for later.
Likes are seen by you, the author and anyone who has access to your likes (which, most people don’t).
♯ CONS:
If you ONLY like, you’re not really helping the author’s work reach a wide audience because this site isn’t Instagram. Reblogging is the only way people can SEE our works. I’ll cover more on that in the next section.
In a nutshell, liking is good! But you should most likely use it in a combination with the other stuff I’ve listed below, because just the like itself doesn’t really do much in giving the author any feedback or interaction on their fics.
To clear shit up; I’m not talking about those people who don’t read the story or appreciate it in the first place. I’m talking about those who appreciate the fic, like it, but don’t leave any sort of feedback to show that.
Tumblr media
#2 : REBLOGGING !
This is SO, SO important. I cannot stress on this enough. Let me explain WHY so many writers stress on reblogging content:
Tumblr’s tag system is inherently fucked up, and has grown more so over the year. I’m not kidding, at first, the fic either used to show up in the tags or it didn’t, but now, sometimes your fic can be REMOVED from the tags because of,,, idk tumblr tag shit. Anyways, as you can see, it’s very demotivating for authors at that point, because the major way for people to find their content and expand their blogs has been blocked.
Due to this reason, tumblr authors need to RELY on you, their followers to help spread their works to a wider audience. Now again, before you get me wrong, I’m not saying you ae forced to rb our works regardless of whether you like them or not. BUT, that being said, if you DO infact like the story, there’s no harm in reblogging, right? By doing this you’re indirectly telling the author — “hey! :D I liked your fic! Which is why I am gonna share it to my followers so they can read it too :D” Trust me, you’re doing nothing but helping the people who produce content for you to read. Seems like a worthy cause to hit the reblog button, right? It’s only a one, or maximum two step procedure.
Leave tags in your reblogs! Trust me, as an author myself and as much as I know from all my author friends, we oft check the tags of your reblogs to see if you found any part amazing or even if you have anything to say about the writing we put so much hard work into. Even a key smash or a “This was so [insert adjective] 🥺” is enough to leave a smile on your authors face.
♯ PROS :
You’re !! Sharing !! Your authors !! Works !! This leads to them getting more recognition, so for the content they’re so graciously providing for free, you’re promoting their blog and helping them expand it.
If the tags are being a shit, which majority of the time they are, then you’re literally making an author’s day by reblogging! You’re showing them that you, a follower and appreciator of their works are willingly sharing their content because it deserves to be seen by more people. Again before any dumb people decide to attack me, i am talking about people who like the fic but don't bother reblogging and are silent/ghost readers. I am not forcing anyone to read anybody’s work.
YOU’RE MAKING YOUR AUTHOR SO HAPPY WHAT MORE REASONS COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT !! 🥺
♯ CONS :
Literally none, because as far as I remember no author is against reblogging of their works. It’s quite literally the way this platform functions. Reblogging is IMPORTANT.
Tumblr media
#3 : COMMENTING/SENDING FEEDBACK !
This kind of overlaps with the previous section, but THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT STEP !! When you leave feedback, you are directly giving the author something so much more valuable to them than high follower/note counts or money. Your feedback is literally our serotonin. I kid you not the number of times I’ve received a positive comment and smiled and it has made my day. There’s a reason youtubers (though not the best example, bear with me here because it was the only one I could think of) ask people to subscribe, like and COMMENT. The subscription is like a follow, the like is ofc like a heart, and the comment is equivalent to an rb with comments in the tags.
You might argue and tell me that a comment is basically like an ask so the reblogging step isn’t necessary, but I’m sure 99% of you use YouTube and you know that more comments leads to people’s videos boosted in the stream/trending charts. This is what reblogging does. Reblogging shares the piece with other people like minded, which leads to a boost in reads. You are literally helping your author grow.
It’s quite literally the same thing as youtubers. Youtubers NEED validation to keep their content creation going, so do writers, so do other ccs on this site. This post is however, focused on WRITERS, so keep that in mind.
♯ PROS :
By doing this, you’re giving author valuable feedback! It’s similar to what you do in rbing with tags. Interactivity with their fics boosts their note counts and helps expand their audience, so srsly, now think of it: your one comment is playing such a massive role to help ccs create more content.
Imagine how much of a difference the note counts will be in when every person who simply likes after reading the fic, reblogs, leaves a comment and sends an ask. the note counts would be high on each and every fic, which is validation in itself, but your comments would inspire the writer so much more! Please, don’t skip the commenting part. Even a simple one like: “this is so cute!” is wonderful.
♯ CONS :
Remember, if you’re gonna give constructive criticism (which I’m sure you all are smart enough to know if different from hate), make sure the author is okay with it. Authors need to be in a specific mindset and must be ready to accept criticism, so if you’re gonna give constructive criticism to them when they’re at a low point, it may demotivate them.
Just commenting, instead of reblogging and commenting in the tags/ reblogging and then leaving an ask in their inbox, while it gives validation in plenty, will not lead to the author’s work being spread. Therefore I suggest either reblogging and commenting in the tags or reblog and then leave an ask, or comment under the fic!
!! reminder; I am not saying that if you don’t rb and just leave feedback, your feedback has no value. We authors truly appreciate every bit of feedback, but this post is aimed to help you learn how to interact with and support authors, and make them feel more motivated, because the current scenario of liking and scrolling is taking a toll on their creative abilities. Take it from a person who’s been writing for a year.
Tumblr media
#4 : COMMSIONING VIA THEIR KO-FI/OTHER APPS !
Before any of you attack me, let me tell you that this is not a step that is 100% necessary to do. ONLY donate if you can and if you genuinely want to, and if anyone is forcing you to pay for something against your will, you need to get yourself out of there.
Regardless, if an author has a kofi and you’re able to and you want to donate, you definitely should! It’s also a valid form of support.
Tumblr media
#5 : ADDING THEM ON REC LISTS/ RECOMMENDING THEM TO REC BLOGS
This is such an underrated option, to be honest. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen my fic was recommended onto some rec list and it’s made me smile so hard. If you like some fics, create a rec list! They’re oft very popular amongst the fans too. Making rec posts is such a great way to share your favorite stories with others.
Rec blogs! I’ve seen a couple going around, and needless to say they are a great way to get someone else to read your favorite author’s work whilst also giving them your own feedback. These blogs oft accept recs via a form or ask box, and they leave your feedback along with their own, or else they’ll oft tag the author in the feedback post, so look! You’re basically helping your author share their fic to many more people, because you’ve given them feedback and a reblog.
♯ PROS :
Validation! Feedback! Reblogs! More exposure! Helping a blog grow! Spreading love! basically a run down of the stuff I’ve said before!
♯ CONS :
Literally no con of this. Unless, a one in a million case, this author says they don’t like receiving feedback/being tagged, and I’m sure NO person has said this before, at least none that I’ve heard of.
Tumblr media
#6 : FINAL COMMENTS; MISC !
When an author points out about how the interactivity is drastically reducing, don’t just give them blind apologies. Yes, you feel sorry for not interacting as much, we understand, but rather show that you’ll become a better content consumer through your actions. We need to see that we’re not just throwing words into a void and that people are actually trying to be better content consumers.
Understand the fact that authors don’t get paid for this, and 99% of the time, these authors don’t take commissions either. They’re giving you novel worthy writings for free. Take Percy Jackson: You think the author would have felt motivated to write the subsequent parts, let alone two whole series based off of it if literally no one showed that they were interested? Rick Riordan has sales, he is being paid, there are millions of people and big agencies who provide him feedback. Now take that huge amount and simmer it down to an audience of maybe 10000 people This is what fanfic authors want. They don’t want your money, nor are they telling you to risk your lives for them. All they want is, a reblog, some tags, some feedback, some INTERACTIVITY. A sign that they aren’t throwing fics into the void and that people actually like them, some motivation to continue. Seems fairly easy to throw an rb with some tags, right?
Don’t bother to tell me that we do this for ourselves and we shouldn’t ask for likes and reblogs and feedback, because 1) you are consuming the content that we “write for ourselves” and 2) writers post their content here for interactivity and feedback. We could just not post and write and save our fics in our dungeon drafts for years. But we choose to post to entertain the readers, the consumers. And we aren’t even asking that much in return.
Don’t give me the whole “I’m scared that authors feel that comments are annoying” excuse either because seriously this has been DEBUNKED SO MANY TIMES. Istg, in the nicest way possible, if you still think writers are annoyed by interaction and feedback, after so many posts, long rants have been posted as to how we’re not, then you must truly be living under a rock. There, I said it. Please stop thinking this way, I’ll say it again, AUTHORS ARE NOT ANNOYED OF FEEDBACK, COMMENTS, TAGS, REBLOGS. WE LOVE IT. Saying this is like saying that the audience in a theatre play shouldn’t clap when the play ends because the actors would find it noisy. 🤡
I’ve seen some people saying they have anxiety issues and such, so pls note that I’m not invalidating your condition. If you’re trying to be more interactive, I really appreciate it! If you can’t, that’s fine too. You’re trying.
But for the people who have no reason other than feeling lazy to rb and comment, your lack of interactiveness is not excused. Please. Tumblr is a reblogging site. If you’re gonna consume content like authors are some sort of machines, I encourage you to go get some more perspective.
This site is not Instagram or the satan bird app. Your likes are appreciated but frankly speaking, they do nothing to the author except tell them “Hey i read ur fic but i'm not gonna support u :D” and honestly, that is detrimental to their creative capabilities and mental health.
DON’T FOLLOW AN ACC JUST TO MINDLESS RB THEIR SIGNAL BOOST POSTS AND THEIR REBLOGS OF GIFS AND NOT INTERACT WITH THEIR WRITING AT ALL ! Trust me, authors prefer a lower amount of interactive followers than a high count that doesn’t even give them any feedback. Again your follows are appreciated, but when you’re following, you know the type of content the author creates, so the author expects that the more followers, the more interactivity. These days, this is just becoming the opposite. So don’t do it! If you’re gonna follow to read, interact with their works. I promise, this will make both you and the author happy. A win-win situation.
In conclusion: SUPPORT YOUR FUCKING AUTHORS! THEY ARE NOT MACHINES THAT HAVE NO FEELINGS TO PRODUCE CONTENT FOR YOU! FICS TAKE DAYS AND DAYS OF PLANNING, PLOTTING, OUTLINING, WRITING, EDITING, MAKING TEASERS. SO JUST SHOW THEM YOU APPRECIATE THEM WITH AN RB. IT’S THE L E A S T YOU CAN DO.
Tumblr media
I will be liking this post here written by the lovely @chaninfused and @scriptura-delirus . Please take time to read it because if you weren’t convinced by my arguments, you will see how much frustration we as writers face on a daily basis. Please, just show support. Here is the post by @stayndays about how to get more people to read your work, because it also has a note on reblogging. Please educate yourself, and put an end to this mindless consuming culutre and bring up some interactivity.
If you’ve read this far, I want you to go to two of your favorite authors and leave some feedback in their inbox, and tag me in it (either tag me yourself or ask the author to do so, they won’t mind). Show your writers that our words are taking effect and you are becoming better consumers. I mean it. I’m serious. I want every single one who reads this post to do this. besides valid reasons, if you’re lazy to do this, you’re a part of the problem. PLEASE get more perspective.
Also, feel free to add to this post! I’d love to read your thoughts too, remember to be kind though. And, if I think your rb is somehow contradicting my points and is bringing down the reason I made this post, I will politely ask you to delete your comment, because this post is about being truthful about the harsh reality of tumblr consumers and how we can change it. I’m sure none of you will let it get to that point, though. <3 love you guys. 💓
Tumblr media
And, just a reminder, don’t just blindly like this too. Do what I said before, and while I am not forcing you, I’d appreciate your reblog, because seriously, it took me 3 whole days to write this, plus, I’m sure this will help more of your followers understand the fault in consumer culture. haha, that’s it! This post was way too long uff.
also, this is ur cue to not be stupid in my inbox. You have something to say? Think I worded smth wrongly? I’m sure it wasn’t my intention to do so, point it out with manners.
