#and if youre gonna be like oh but it's the same with hylia and her chosen hero. there's a power imbalance there too.

ALSO does no one find it even a little weird how the old Zelda games firmly state that it's Hylia who built/was the first ruler of Hyrule (the king is just. sort of there), and then totk comes in and is like ahaaa no it's actually rauru who's so special and godlike actually. yeah, his wife was actually his priestess who once served him and then died stupidly because she wasn't paying attention. mmhm, she was also the reason ganon was able to take over hyrule and be super duper evil btw. uwu.

The Final Promise₊˚✩⊹
Chapter 13

₊˚✩⊹
“I think my Zelda would like to know.”
“Yeah, I know, she’s an expert on Hylian history, but this is, like, unheard of, even for a fanatic of history like me.”
Wild looks out onto Hyrule Field, the wind starting to pick up a bit. You and the Chain were making your way towards Hyrule Castle, which was less than a day’s walk from your location if you didn’t stop for inns or camp.
“...Are you not freaked out by this? I mean, your entire destiny and 'hero’s purpose' relies on the balance of a triforce… not a tetraforce.”
Wild shrugs, “I mean, I wouldn’t consider myself a blind follower of Hylia, or whatever was set in stone for me, but it is strange.”
You nod, you knew some of the boys weren’t too keen on the idea of Hylia and her ideologies. After all, almost everything they’ve been through was directly from her prophecy.
“You think the castle has spare clothing or something? I can feel my entire body chaffing from how torn up my clothes are.”
Wild smiles, “You… do know you could’ve just asked me for some spare clothes, right? We’re the same height, practically.”
“Yeah, I know, but I feel bad. I don’t like taking stuff from you guys.”
“I’m offering.”
“Still.”
~
By the time your group made it to the gates of Hyrule Castle, it was downpouring. You could feel the clothes sticking to your skin, your bones practically shivering. You felt terrible for Twilight, his pelt probably made his clothing ten times heavier.
“Din’s tits, I’m freezing.” Legend mumbles, wringing out his tunic on the floor. His bangs were stuck on his forehead, the pink hue turning brighter when wet.
Zelda suddenly enters the room, eyes widening at the state of your party.
“Oh goddesses! Link, what happened?”
“We were caught in the storm, came out of nowhere. Do you have any spare clothes and blankets?”
She nods, ushering him to follow her.
Four walks up to you, sitting down on the carpet next to you. You don’t say much, but the silence is comfortable. You look around the large room, the walls lined with shelves that reach the ceiling, each filled to the brim with ancient Hylian literature. The wall in front of you had an ornate fireplace, a godsend in your freezing, wet clothing.
You look over to one of the velvet couches, Time and Twilight sitting down and ridding themselves of their heavier armor. You don’t realize your staring until Time makes eye contact with you, causing you to appear very interested in the fireplace. He smiles to himself, busying himself with polishing his chestplate.
You look over at Twilight, noticing he’s still in his soaking pelt.
“Oh for the- Twilight get that wet pelt off of you, you’re gonna freeze or die of stinkyness.”
“I don’t think that’s possible.”
You give him a look.
“Okay okay, here. Don’t put it too close to the fireplace though.”
You nod. You set it out flat on the stone floor, making sure it wasn’t too close to the embers, but close enough that it would dry relatively quickly.
“Y/n! I’ve brought some spare clothes for you, Link mentioned that you needed them. You can change in the room down the hall, first door on your left.” Zelda smiles. You thank her, taking the bundle of clothes to the other room while the boys get warm and comfortable.
Closing the door behind you, you shed your layers, wincing at the cold nip of the air on your bare skin. You quickly change to avoid someone walking in the room, bundling up your wet clothes to warm in front of the fireplace.
You can already hear some of the boys talking as you walk back into the main room.
“Goddesses, you smell like wet dog, Twi-”
“One more dog joke and I swear-”
“Oh, hey Y/n!” Wind exclaims, making everyone shut up.
“Hey, squirt, you guys all warming up?”
He nods, pulling you along so you could join the circle. Before you sit down, you lay out your wet clothes in front of the fire, making sure your panties are somewhat discrete so you don’t get any comments from the others. Not like they would say anything anyways.
Time, Wars and Twilight were all on the couch, armor and outer layers shed. Hyrule, Legend and Four were elbows deep in some card game, a few rupees and trinkets in the middle used for gambling.
Sky was wrapped up in a blanket, reading some book that he picked from the shelves. Time was looking into the fire, embers reflecting in his eye.
You sit in between Wind and Sky, placing your chin on Sky’s shoulder to look over what he was reading. You couldn’t read Hylian, much less Ancient Hylian, so you were just there for support.
“Whatcha readin’?” you softly ask, eyes glued to the writing on the pages.
“Some love story about a knight and a girl. Quite a long story though, so I definitely won’t finish it.”
The evening continues, the only sound being the fire crackling and some of the boys talking. At some point, Zelda brings dinner for you and the Chain, pulling Link away again to talk about something. No doubt about your discovery, but you choose to ignore the strange feeling in your pit for now.
After finishing your dinner, you climb onto the couch in Wars’ spot, as he joined the enticing card game on the floor with the others. You were in between Twilight and Time, already feeling the call of sleep. Before you doze off, you feel someone drape a soft blanket on top of you, your senses drowning out the rest of the waking world.
~
“Do you think they know?”
“Know what, Pup?”
“Our… attraction towards them.”
The Chain’s banter and games have since died down ever since you fell asleep, Wind cuddling to Hyrule on the floor.
“I think they know, in some sense. Not fully.”
Sky sighs, deep in thought. He suddenly speaks up, eyes on the fireplace.
“I think we should tell them, before something happens or if they leave. Assuming from what everyone’s been saying, it seems like we all feel the same towards them.”
The Vet scoffs, “Yeah and we’ll scare them away.”
“What makes you think that?”
“How would you react if 8 men told you they have the hots for you?”
Sky blinks, he has a point. It would overwhelm you.
Time clears his throat, “Although I agree with the Veteran, I do think we need to be honest with them. We would be hypocrites if we lied to them or made them believe an illusion.”
Nods go around the group, each one lost in thought.
“From what you told us, Old man, it seems like they already have romantic interest for some of us and have hinted towards the others. I don’t see why we shouldn't tell them some time soon, perhaps at the Winter Festival.”
Wild looks at you, eyes soft.
“I care for them so much. So so much. I’m just so scared of losing my friendship with them. They mean the world to me.”
The Old man nods.
“They mean everything.”
~
You wake up with a jolt. You don’t feel panicked, so you didn’t have a nightmare. Weird.
You tried going back to sleep, but after tossing and turning for what felt like an eternity, you decided to get up and move around a little. You tiptoe out of the room, leaving the door propped open for when you decided to return.
Walking down the hallway, you hum quietly a song from back home. It makes you homesick, but it makes the castle feel less eerie. Trailing your fingers along the stone walls, you look up to see very interesting paintings.
They were portraits of each era’s hero and princess.
You chuckle, this was so unlike them. Each one was resembling their appearance in game, only with minor differences. Time was younger, which was so strange to see after spending over a year with them. Twilight didn’t have his markings, Legend’s hair wasn’t pink, and Wind still wore his green hero’s garb.
Their past lives. Lives that aren’t forgotten. Lives that still loom over them.
Suddenly, your vision is blocked. Someone is behind you.
“What the-”
“Shh. You don’t want to wake the others, do you?”
“Time?”
He just sighs in relief. You turn to look at him, his face just barely being visible from the lanterns lighting the hallway.
“What are you doing up? You know Zelda’s guards take watch, right?”
“I know, I couldn’t sleep. I presume you’re in the same situation, no?”
You nod, suddenly hearing footsteps from the opposite end of the hallway. Not wanting to end up being caught in a misunderstood situation, you grab Time’s wrist and run to a small alcove just at the end of the alcove, hidden under a heavy tapestry.
“Sorry, I-uh didn’t wanna deal with him.” You whispered, panting slightly from running.
Now that you can focus, you realize the alcove is way smaller than you thought. Time was practically caging you in, feeling his breath on your forehead.
“I’m not.”
“Wh-”
He propped you up on one of his knees, his hand pulling you in by your neck, interlocking his lips with yours. This kiss felt desperate, like he had been waiting for days, weeks. Well, you suppose he has.
You pull away panting, looking at where you thought he was based on his breath, “What’s gotten into you? Needy all of a sudden-”
He shuts you up again, pulling your hips closer to him until there was practically no space between the two of you. At some point he starts kissing downwards, inhaling your scent in the junction between your neck and shoulders, exhaling reverberating through his chest. The action in itself felt possessive, dominating. It was addicting.
“Can I…”
“Please.”
Without a word, he continued mouthing over your exposed skin, still carefully holding you on his lap like he did oh so many moons ago.
He slid one hand slightly under your tunic, warm hands pawing at your skin.
“You’re so warm. So soft.”
He slid his hands back down, flipping you around so your back was to his chest. His hands dragged back under your tunic going upwards to your breasts. Thank god you hardly ever wore a bra anymore.
He rolled your hardened buds between his thumb and pointer finger, you whimpering slightly when he tugged lightly on each of them. His palms firmly cupped your chest while he played with your nipples, chuckling lowly in your ear.
“You like that, hm?”
You just whimpered loudly in response, light grinding on his legs. He shushed you quietly, reminding you of the guards just down the hall.
He kept one of his hands on your chest, trailing the other down to your trousers, unlacing the cord that held them up. He slowly started rubbing small circles over your clothed heat, teasing you.
“Time, stop teasing-ah!”
“Say my name, darling. Please.”
“Ti-”
“No. My name.”
He tilts your chin up, the highlights of his eyes being the only thing you can see in the dark alcove. You can almost make out his half-lidded gaze drinking in your form.
“Link. Link, please- fuck!”
He slips two fingers under your panties, rubbing sensual circles over your bundle of nerves.
“Good girl. Such a good girl. Be nice and quiet for me, hm?”
You nod, biting your lip as he continues his touches. He then slides his fingers into you, stretching you open with his thicker digits. When was the last time you’ve been touched like this? Almost two years-
Time nudged his fingers deep in you, hitting the spongy spot that made you keel over in pleasure. He licked the shell of your ear, cooing at your desperate noises, like music to his ears.
In just a few moments, you can feel the knot in your lower stomach tightening, your head starting to feel dizzy from how euphoric you felt. Time was like a drug. Addicting.
“L-link I’m so close oh my god-”
“I can tell, my little Mouse. You going to cum all over my fingers? Such a dirty girl.”
With a silent scream, you buck your hips up, cumming all over Time’s fingers. He firmly held your hips in place, not letting you go, pushing you over the edge. He slowly pulls his fingers out just as the overstimulation sets in, a pathetic whimper leaving your lips from the emptiness you felt.
You panted, calming down from your high. You reached up to brush your fingers through Time’s hair, his forehead slumping onto your shoulder.
“This was-hah, not what I was expecting for tonight.”
He hummed, pressing a firm kiss to your shoulder.
“As much as I would love for us to continue, you need to sleep. We can continue where we left off… another time, if you’d like.”
You pause.
This wasn’t a one-time thing?
Smiling to yourself, you mumble “I’d love that, Link.”
You press a kiss to his lips, taking a few extra moments to savor his musk and the warmth of his chest. Once you pulled away, you fix your tunic and pants, brushing through your hair to seem less disheveled.
“Goodnight, Link. I’ll... see you later.”
“Goodnight, Y/n.”

so, i have thought more about what we now know about botw2 and honestly, setting aside the smaller things i am not a fan of (like the building aspect) my biggest gripes about it are the plot looking like its gonna be very generic, especially regarding ganondorf, while i hoped it would perhaps finally give us a little more interesting take instead good vs evil; and the oh so mysterious figure you see in in the trailer very likely to be hylia, since shes mentioned constantly in the first game (among other things like her design being pretty much a carbon copy of zelda for the most boring reasons imaginable)
and no its not just bc of my stupid little fanworks (that i do bc i love the franchise, as much as i am critical of it, it comes from being very passionate about it, hence me working my fan lore around the canon so it doesnt disturb it much, its more meant to expand it on parts i think are a little lacking without me trying to sound superior, literally just as an act of love (and a little spite ill admit that) to add something to it)- BUT bc i have little hope they would do anything more than just going full blown "this monstrous beast is pure inherently evil, and this is the pure inherently good white little girl goddess whos just protecting her god given perfect and unshakable good tm monarchy" with no little to no nuance (theres also alot more to be critical of the general structure and implications like racism, orientalism, nationalism, that while i can see alot of wrong or questionable things in the games i lack the eloquence to talk about in its full range) yes i am personally biased bc i just .. hate that kind of story/worldbuilding structure, but i dont think im the only one who would think of it as boring and .. disappointing?
i dont need ganondorf to be redeemed, i dont need him to be the good himbo bf that some people think all ganondorf stans want, i just want him to be more than to shout "i will conquor this kingdom bc i am evil and want it" and send a horde of monsters after you, at the very least id want the game to just aknowledge that there must be a reason for it, why it turned out like this
the zelda series and its world has so much potential, which is probably a reason for its popularity in fanworks, but also keeps not using it, no i dont expect a company like nintendo to deliver on all my hopes, of course not, im not that delusional, but the further i think and learn about this universe and concepts they created i find myself asking "why" more and more where the games never elaborate, never question
i like a clear structure, i like when your choices dont have a big or any impact on the story bc i want to live the story, not worry about every decision like i already do every second of my life IRL, i want to partake in a movie, in a theater piece i can influence the pace of but not change the outcome, yet i feel kind of ... ignored? let down? asking why and how, how do they know this is right and this is wrong, how do they keep enacting this seeing it never works out, keep saying defeat this evil, but evil yet returns stronger than before over and over, how do they never ask "is this the right way?", they say "we need to kill it more next time"
i know they are fictional little characters made up to sell a game, with a convevient plot point to ever repeat the same structure, but it cant be wrong to say "i love this world, i want to see and know more, i want to see it grow and change, break the cycle and be better, show me characters not puppets"
theres very surely nuances and ideas i am sorely missing bc i lack the knowledge of japanese as a language, culture, and mythology, but i dont think it invalidates all that i feel for it ..
.. right?

Linktober: Boat/Vessel/Ship
“There once was a ship that put to sea, the name of the ship was Billy of Tea-”
“The winds blew up, her bow dipped down, oh blow my bully boys, blow~”
In this situation, many would say they had no idea how they got here. Which was fair, it was an odd one and it had left you puzzled for the first half an hour as both you and the Hero of Winds completed the task. But you weren’t, you knew exactly how you ended up in this situation, sailing across the Lake of Hylia, to collect the scales of Farosh.
There was a reason for it, but in all honesty, you hadn’t been paying attention, too thunderstruck by an actual in real-life dragon.
But you digress.
You’d offered to team up with Wind, after all in these past few days you hadn’t gotten to spend time with your favourite sailor, barely even a second so now was your chance and you weren’t gonna miss this chance, neither was he seeing as soon as you were both given the all clear you were racing across Hylia Bridge to get down to the old rickety sailboat that sat upon the water’s surface waiting to be used.
You were even more excited to see Wind’s real talents in action, to see him work his sailor magic not to mention see the Wind Waker in action.
And of course, you taught him a few good shanties for the occasion (and he, with you).
Pressing shoulders together you both bellowed, certain the boys upon the bridge could hear your shrieks as you sang.
“SOON MAY THE WELLERMAN COME, TO BRING US SUGAR AND TEA AND RUM, ONE DAY, WHEN THE TONGUING IS DONE, WE’LL TAKE OUR LEAVE AND GO!~”
The cackles that left the both of you were jolly, pushing at each other playfully, coming close to falling from the deck a few times.
“You know, sailor,” You started, tugging him to your side to give him the smallest of side hugs. “You’re not too annoying- I can say with confidence that I like spending time with you.”
He huffed, crossing his arms. “Coward, afraid to admit you like me?”
“I don’t like you, Link, I love you, you’re basically my little brother..”
You’d never be afraid to admit such a thing, this boy was basically your little brother, one of your closest friends in the span of only a few months and you wouldn’t change it for the world. He made the moments here much easier to bare, made everything feel less suffocating, was your shoulder to cry on and you, his. The both found comfort in each other during such difficult times, away from your families, fighting horrible monsters- you loved this boy like he was your own flesh and blood, and nothing would change that.
“I love you too.”
The smile that had grew on Wind’s face was nothing short of happiness, which only seemed to fill your heart with the same emotion, after all why wouldn’t you be happy to know he would see you in the same light? Your little brother and his older sibling, a dynamic duo that you would continue to hold dear even when you were gone from this world.
“You’re still annoying though.” And with a single push, you launched him right into the lake, following seconds after when his steel grip didn’t relent and dragged you right into the water along with him.

so like hi there i have a Ravioli hurt/comfort fic plot im not gonna write but i thought youd enjoy it so ima over explain it in your Ask box!
Okay okay okay so A link between worlds right so for this were gonna pretend it was before A links awakening for the ✨Story✨
So in A links awakening Links gf is fucking a seagull or a dream or smthn right kinda fucked up, well you see Ravio already kinda lives with Link at this point and there kinda dating but not so Link comes back home from his adventure and Ravio is  so fucking exited and like "Mr. Hero your home! oh in sk glad i was so lonely how did Hylia treat you are you okay do you need something want to lie down? are you injured" But then Links jusy standing in the fuckjng door way like, Shit Ravio did i forgot about him? i mean i fell in love with Marin that's basically replacing him, Marin... i mean fuck she was a dream does that count i still fell i  love with her though thats fuvked up i replaced ravio fuck fuck fuck.
abd then he fucking passes out
but then after that Link still having a crisis avoids Ravio as much as he can, whichhhhhhhh is not mych considering theu live in the same house, sleep in the same room, and eat the breakfast ravio made together. but he tries. and when Ravio tries to confront Link he is overwhelmed and doesnt know what tk say so he just anounced an impromptu visit to his sister saying he wants to update her on his adventure.
so he leaves and Ravios confused and a little hurt while Link feels like shit and also confused.
He does get to Zelda and she rightfully slaps some sense into Link because wtf are you thinking, your upset yes but he can help you he doesnt have to know everything but atlest tell him hey i dont hate you
so Link dramatically goes running back to his kinda boyfriend who feels like shit and collapsaes at ravios feet gushing out how he loves him and he fell in love with someone else and he feels horible and shes kinda gone anyways she wasn't actually real and link is fucking truamatized from his gf jot actually being real and the  ravio goes and hugs him and they do a cute little communication thing and Ravios like hey fuck ur all good i live you to its fine you fell in love with Marin it fucking sucks shes dead can i help at all??
and there all cute and cuddly and Link deals with some Truama in a healthy way fir once
anyways that was much longer then anticipated i just have alot of thoughts about them

me & my friendgroup were hoping ganon would get more backstory and humanization in totk for the entire time since the sequel was announced :( the idea that he might get revived was so exciting. i didnt think it would happen but i hoped for a sequel where youd switch between link and zelda at different points- zelda being more lore and archaeology/exploration focused so youd learn more about ganon and the events causing the calamity and how to stop future ones as you also tried to understand why he was so enraged and what exactly happened to him and link engaging in direct dialogue and confrontation with ganon so the player can see his pain and character depth. the game wouldve been more about defeating the calamity possessing him vs ganon himself being bad and acknowledging that hyrule never really tried that route which lead to the constant devastation...sorry for rambling but tldr i feel you 🫡 ur ganons strongest soldier
literally this entire ask. i don't know why i had my hopes up cuz now i'm disappointed over something that was gonna happen anyways... i just wish that after throwing in the excuse of "oh well we use the same formula over and over because DEMISE'S CURSE causes hatred to reincarnate!" they actually built upon that, but they only focus on how the curse affects the chosen hero and zelda. like they never actually go into how the curse affects the man who is born asab (assigned satan at birth 😢)
heres what i think under the cut if youre interested, it's kind of a long story so whatever
my personal hesdcanon completely and totally disregarding anything totk says is that hylia chose ganondorf to be her hero. she chose him and the 'calamity' wasn't actually ganondorf himself based on the more lizard-like appearance of it in the tapestry: it was demise, hence the reason why it not only took a hero and princess but the divine beasts as well.
based on his outfit in the original trailer, i think he was invited to the castle. but while he went dressed his best, it was a trap. throughout his time as hero the kingdom questioned it because of their awful history. after defeating the calamity, ganon was invited for dinner and was betrayed. being poisoned by people he loves and cared about who he thought cared about him but their generational hatred just... led to this.
it broke his heart when they broke his trust because the male gerudo 'king of evil' could never be our chosen hero, the symbol of courage in the kingdom. he's the bad guy, and always will be even if it's a different man from the one in OOT and TP entirely. his broken heart turned into anger and rage while he was coughing and dying at the table as people he cared for watched it happen. his eyes turned red, his mane and tusks grew and his triforce shined. when he tried to grab the sword it burned his hand. hatred took over and changed him- keep in mind that demise's entire being relies on the existence of hatred. with so much hate in his heart the demon was able to grab ahold of it and use that as a second chance to win.
nobody could stop him but the princess, who did with hylia's help. his body and spirit was sealed under the castle before it got too bad. but over time, the betrayal ganon felt had 10k years to brew and demise used it to his advantage. ganon's hurt combined with demise's raw energy- malice- created what we see in botw as that ugly beast calamity ganon.
now here's my favorite part! everyone had to have wondered why the fuck hylia wasn't willing to help zelda this time around when zelda was unable to use the powers in her blood that her mom could use, and hylia never bothered to help her awaken them. well the reason for this is because hylia felt betrayed by her people. her people were so full of hatred that they tried to murder the hero SHE chose! not only that, but after ganon's murder, the sheikah strongly opposed, which led to what you can see in the tapestry- sheikah being pushed by guards, and then the game tells us their technology was destroyed and sealed away.
as punishment for the problems her children were causing, she decided to abandon them. they would get no help from her. no prayers would be answered, no assistance with light magic- they were on their own now. there wouldn't even be a chosen hero- link was actually chosen by fi when fi knew a hero had to come but hylia wasn't going to bother.
hylia only decided to step up after she felt sorry for zelda. when zelda prayed and begged her she ignored her until the hero died and she felt her child's pain. she finally decided to be a mom and make zelda's powers fucking explode. zelda walked into that castle and sealed the demon the best she could without the assistance of a hero. from then on after a hundred years, hyrule basically accepted the flying boar demon cloud over the castle as part of their life along with corrupted guardians and such.
basically i think ganon's story was about hatred and betrayal and that the reason calamity ganon is so insanely powerful, and the reason he takes on a more demonic form not made of flesh but physical hatred, is because of how much it hurt him. he is hurt and hatred took advantage of that.
demise's easy control of ganondorf is kind of a nod at how you'll see that hurt people can often get easily taken over by hatred. a wife who is cheated on might kill her husband. a trans man who has suffered his whole life might bully trans men who are happy. a victim of misogynistic culture might be manipulated by others into becoming a terf. it's sad how easily hate can take over hurt people.
for the hylians, it's how for generations their kingdom was destroyed by a ganon, so they can't think of him as anything other than a threat even if he is a good man.
so yeah, there's my ganondorf take. he's just some guy who is stuck in a cycle and i wish nintendo would stop acting like hyrule is a perfect kingdom and the royal family has no flaws because theyre the Goddess Children when time and time again there's been hints in the games at their treatment of others, especially the sheikah. basically what i want is for them to give their special little good guys and special little race of blue eyed bitches some more depth instead of just being like "theyre good and nothing more because they're the Good Guys so they can't do anything wrong and opposers like ganon are the Bad Guys". cuz it's 2023 and we deserve more advanced stories than "hero and princess defeat the big bad evil and save the day!"

More headcanon time
(More headcanons)
While searching for your Crimson Loftwing, if you stop and talk to Orielle, she tells you how to look at your map. Then she says, “Knowing you, that’s the best way to avoid getting lost…again.”
Tumblr media
Now, she’s referring to the Statue of the Goddess. She’s telling Link to look at his map to find the giant statue visible across the entirety of Skyloft. And she tells him “the best way to avoid getting lost again.” Again? That seems to imply that Link has gotten lost trying to find the Statue of the Goddess. Or that he’s gotten lost on Skyloft, a tiny island that he grew up on and probably knows every nook and cranny of. That of course must mean that our favorite bean sprout has literally the absolute WORST sense of direction in the entire universe if he can’t even find his way around the island he has called home his entire life, if he can’t even find THE GIANT STATUE THAT IS VISIBLE FROM THE WHOLE SKY
Like…. Link is probably known on Skyloft as the one kid who will never be able to find his way ANYWHERE without assistance and who can barely read a map to save his life. People always take the time to draw him directions like “ok sweetie, you take a left turn here and go up these stairs and you’ll find an entrance to the bazaar” and somehow he still ends up by the waterfall or something. They will take him step by step to an area and leave him there and hours later go “where’s link?” and he’s somehow found a hole leading underground and doesn’t remember which way he came from and they have to dig him out. He’ll be flying and his Loftwing literally has to take control of where he’s going cause he has NO IDEA. Zelda will tell him to meet her at the Lumpy Pumpkin and he’s just like “😅🥲 o-okay Zelds,” and five hours later he somehow manages to arrive.
Then his quest begins and OH HYLIA Fi is confounded by his horrible sense of direction. “Master. Master, I told you to follow THIS TRAIL RIGHT HERE. THE ONE THAT WAS DIRECTLY BENEATH YOUR FEET. Master HOW did you end up in a tree” kinda thing. And GOSH temples are the worst, Fi repeatedly has to tell him which way to turn and where to go and etc. finally she has enough because “master if you cannot find your way through an empty room with a door at either end then I don’t think you’ll save Zelda” so she leaves him to find his own way so he can actually learn by himself. Eventually Link starts to get better at it, and soon he can go through temples with only a few expected questions (“Fi, there are seven doors and they all look the same and I have no clue where I just came from”) and Fi is patient with him and YAY her small green human is FINALLY learning how to read a map and follow trails and directions how on earth did he survive until now—
Anywho when Link and Zelda finally reunite they’re heading back to Skyloft and Zelda says “ok I’m going to brush my Loftwing down real quick, meet you at the academy in like ten minutes” and Link nods and Zelda hesitates. “Uh….you know where you’re going, right? Do you need help?”
“Nope! I got it,” Link says, confidently, which only makes Zelda more concerned. She watched him fly off with a shake of her head like “dear Hylia that boy is gonna end up in a volcano instead of the academy…” but sure enough when she flies to the academy Link is there! And she’s like “HOW DID YOU GET HERE” He just kinda chuckles. “Fi taught me direction and now I can find my way around places” he says and that is probably the most shocking news Zelda has ever heard in her life, probably even more shocking than when she found out she was Hylia reincarnate because sweet farore, her bean sprout has been horrible at direction since he was two years old and now he can find his way around?! a TERRIFYING prospect
Now whenever they go anywhere Zelda out of habit tells Link where to turn or what path to take, but he always surprises her like “Zel…I got this, okay? Don’t worry” and that’s something she will probably NEVER get used to. Link is amused every time

Let everyone hear about GRANDMA 😈 (dot)
And also Zelink Villain arc I too am very excited for this one
HJDFKSHJDKS
Grandma is def gonna be a running joke sdkfs.
So Duet of Time (Dot) is a roleplay with me and heaven (number 3 out of four?? how many do we have lmao) and its basically a corpse bride au where-
Tp Zelda wanders upon Hero Shade's (Oot Linkor as we call him bone grandpa) grave a few days before she marries tp Link and practices her vows. Shade wakes up believing its his Zelda because the vows she said were a promise he and his Zelda did before he died (he also needs glasses cause he's 8ft tall and tp zelda is 6ft and Spirit(oot zelda/ spirit grandma) was also 8ft and how he confused them idk)
ANYWAY, he and Zelda go to a in between realm that he thinks is the Spirit Realm but its not where Zelda is like "im not your Zelda, Hero of Time" and he's like "wdym of course you are" (he just wants his zelda back okay, its been 300 years since he's seen her). In the meantime Spirit wakes up and discovers that Shade has pulled a grave mistake(pun intended) and goes to tp Link for help. And to explain the grandma joke its that Link believes he's the descnedant of oot zelink because he's heard as a kid all these stories of how they were so in love, etc.. so when he sees Spirit he's like "Grandma!" but she's like "oh sweet summer child" and learns that he's just Shade's desendant which means his ship never got married and decides to pull an irl fix it fic lmao.
The Hero of Time found himself circling in his his grave for the umpteenth time since his supposed regrets had eased. Although he was able to live in the Spirit Realm, his soul could not simply just leave the mortal plane, not until she came.
Zelda. His dearest princess who he vowed to forever stand by, even after death claimed him. He could remember the agony and sorrow that wore on her soul when she buried him beneath the tree of his former guardian, the regrets that weighed heavy upon them. They both had yearned for a happy life, a life to spend together until death came and they could be spirits living in the afterlife for eternity. But destiny seemed to be cruel to those who are goddess blessed.
Since that day he uttered a promise for her, that he would not leave until she came for him. That he was forever bound to her, that his devotion and love was stronger than death and their cursed destiny itself. Then, the ancient hero felt a presence come closer to his resting place. A very familiar presence. Could it be? Was it possible that his waiting was finally over?
May I always be by your side to alleviate your burdens.
If he had lungs, Link's breath would have hitched. It was her promise, the very same she had whispered when he returned from Termina and wept in her arms. It was her.
Our love is stronger than death itself.
With the ring falling perfectly onto his finger, Link tethered his spirit to his old body. He arose from the earth, leaves, dirt and plants wrapped around his golden armor. The cool crisp night air blew through his bones, the moonlight hit the back of helmet shadowing the person before him. He looked down to her, his glowing eye softening at who he saw.
"Dearest."
AS FOR VILLIAN ARC
i answered one here! But i will add more hehehe
brainrot ideas for it
Link decides to defy the King's orders about something war related which marks him as like traitor but Zelda will still stay by her beloved's side even as the kingdom turns on him
The King forcing Zelda to marry Tyrsus (aka arrogant prince) and is also preassured by her aunt, Lady Selin (the bitch)
Link and Zelda day by day having to struggle with controlling their emotions (which means also a struggle for Link to keep down Fierce Deity's power and Zelda Hylia's power) and just decide to snap

“Tears of the Kingdom” spoilers below where I talk about how stupidly good the game is but also stuff I miss and maybe don’t like as much because I have to talk about it. I’m very close to finishing the main story, so I think I can write this now. (Oh, and this post is long. I tend to do that.)
First of all, yes- I love “Tears of the Kingdom”. In a lot of ways, the devs really listened to their fans and implemented things we missed in Breath of the Wild, a lot of quality of life updates. It’s a very familiar experience as much as it’s new and it completely blew my expectations out of the water. I adore the fuse mechanic and how you can now build the stupidest, most insane, creative, and bonkers stuff. Everything from a thing that launches you practically into space to a goddamn war machine that eats Lynels for breakfast. And not to mention the ability to ascend! Man did I abuse that ability. Lovingly, of course. Hey, give it to me and I’ll use it, maybe not the correct way, but I’ll use it. Also, Rewind is great for a slowpoke like myself to bring back a boat that I accidentally activated before I got on it and it zoomed across Lake Hylia in four seconds flat. Bless.
Alright. Onto the ‘negative’ stuff before I loop around back to the good. The first thing that comes to mind is how the sages’ powers work. You can’t have all of them active at the same time because you’ll have five dang ghosts running around you making life difficult. Want to pick up a bomb flower? Oops, Yunobo just rolled into it and blew your ass into next Thursday. Want to sneak up on this fairy or bug before you pick it up? Oh, Tulin was so excited to see it that he had to blow a goddamn wind gust right at it, making it fly or scurry away to save its short life. Accidentally activated Riju’s power? Gotta run after her now that she’s run off to who-knows-where and then cancel her thunder arrows. Remember how, in BotW, there were button presses for three outta four powers and then the last one activated when you ‘died’? Yeah. Bring that back, please. Where even are the powers Link got from Urbosa, Daruk, Revali, and Mipha?
(Someone theorised that the Champion powers from BotW disappeared from Link as their souls were finally laid to rest after Calamity Ganon was defeated, but I thought that every single one of the Champions told Link that they wanted him to have their powers now that they couldn’t use them anymore. What, just temporarily until Calamity Ganon was defeated? Nahhhh, I don’t buy it. The Sages’ powers just aren’t that good replacements, in my humble opinion. Way wonkier, harder to control, they all activate in a stupid way.)
Another thing is the rampant inconsistency and lack of explanation for things in a game that’s supposed to be a direct sequel to “Breath of the Wild”. Where did the Sheikah technology suddenly run off to? Where’s all of the Guardians, why is the Sheikah Slate suddenly called the Purah Pad, what about all those towers and shrines? Explaining it away with “well the Upheaval happened” feels like a weird excuse. Did the Zonai stuff just overrule Sheikah technology, is that why we have Shrines of Light instead of Sheikah ones? Remember how, at the end of “Breath of the Wild” in the ‘true’ ending, Zelda talks about how Vah Ruta apparently stopped working and they were gonna go see what that was all about? Where did Ruta even go after that, much less the other three beasts? There aren’t even parts lying around from them if they were destroyed by the falling debris after the Upheaval. Nothing. They all got raptured along with the rest of all of the Sheikah technology.
Also: Where’s Kass? His kids are in the game and none of them even mention their father, same with his wife Amali. Some family, huh. There’s vague mentions of him by Traysi and Penn but that’s about it. Not even by name, just “a bard”. They brought back the creep from outside of Gerudo town who was obsessed with boots but not Kass who helped Link with several side quests and you’d continuously run into during your travels? Okay.
They handled some things that bridged both games very well. Like the bit about how people can turn into friggin’ dragons by eating a certain kinda stone like a Goron? YIKES. Makes me wonder about Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh, if maybe the goddesses Din, Nayru, and Farore did this and then became the dragons we’re now so familiar with. If you’ve seen that one part where Zelda turns into the Light Dragon... yeah. Whew. That scene made me cry and also stare blankly at a wall for five minutes afterwards.
(Oh and just to finish off the criticism rant: you still can’t pet the damn dogs. What the hell. Let me pet them! They’re such good dogs!)
Overall, though, of course I’ve really enjoyed "Tears of the Kingdom” as might be obvious by my reblogged content as of late. It’s funny, creative, fun, challenging, tugs at your heartstrings, makes you yelp in horror sometimes- all things that make a good game. But it’s not perfect, at least not to me. All I can hope for is DLC that might explain some of the inconsistencies I’ve had major gripes with and I can be happy with the rest of it. Yeah, even the wonky way the Sages’ powers work.

I beat Demise! I kicked his ass!
And woooo boy there are some things.
Demise stood standing after I stabbed him in the chest long enough to say this :
" my hate never perishes . It is born anew in a cycle with no end! I will rise again! Those like you ... Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero ... They are eternally bound by this curse. An incarnation of my hatred shall follow your kin, dooming them to wander a blood soaked sea of darkness for all time!"
Now I'm about to rock your world.
Skyward sword Link is the first one. The very first hero of the goddess. And skyward sword Zelda was the first incarnation of the goddess Hylia.
Demise has red hair. What other Zelda villain has red hair and is constantly coming back to mess with our heroes?
If you guessed Ganon, you'd be right. Ganon is the reincarnation of Demise.
Skyward sword is ment to explain why is it always Link , Zelda, and Ganon .
It is a cycle without end , because of the curse of Demise.
Every legend of Zelda game that follows this is ment to come after skyward sword. Not all in the same timeline (there's a three way split in the timeline somewhere) , but still. Every game that happens is a direct consequence of skyward sword.
And Breath of the wild is somewhere near the end . Connecting all three timelines . (Fun fact there's a place called the breach of Demise in botw , and going with the name that's where Demise first started causing havoc on the surface)
Fi has to sleep in the sword for the rest of eternity, and I legitimately started to tear up when I had to put the sword back in it's pedestal .
Ghirahim kinda proofed away, to the point Demise even looked surprised at it. The effect kinda looked like the purple smoke when enemies die however I don't think he's dead. Because I heard the sound that is associated with Ghirahim using his magic. I think he just teleported away and left demise for dead. Which is going to make it harder to find him but I'm fucking gonna.
Zelda chooses to make a home on the surface, and I'm guessing a lot of skyloft followed her, which is how we went to living in skyloft to surface later on.
Anyways I'm going to give this Zelda a course on how to be a better friend, and I can only assume that message is something all of her bloodline needs to know because a lot of them are dicks. Botw Zelda learned it at least.
Just. So many thoughts.
Prophecy-anon
HUZZAH FOR DEAD GUY but oh no for eternal curses across timelines :/ that sucks

Reunion Tour - Chapter 1
note: this is an extended version of these two posts, with an ending added on.
[first] - [next] read it on ao3!
Chapter 1: Familiar Circumstances Wild and Warriors meet each other again.
- - -
There were quite a few things Wild wanted to do this weekend. Like maybe sleep in for a bit, maybe cooking a special breakfast. They’d even been planning on visiting little Zelly, a promise that her mother was sure to scold them for not keeping.
Instead, they were rudely awoken by a rough collision with the dirt, and they quickly realized they weren’t in their soft waterbed in Zora’s Domain anymore. Blearily blinking their eyes open, Wild feels like they’ve been hit by Ruta’s Cryonis again.
They’re in the castle courtyard of Warriors’ time. Which, as they seem to recall, is tens of thousands of years removed from their own era.
“Oh great,” Wild scowls as the golden light fades behind them. Ten years since their tearful goodbyes with their fellow heroes, and all of a sudden, Hylia’s playing games again.
Wild pushes themself off the ground, dusting whatever they can off with their one arm. It’s only then, when several halberds are pointed right at their face, that they realize they have an audience.
“Stop right there!” one of the soldiers, presumably a higher ranking officer, shouts. “Put your hands in the air!”
Wild frowns, but some part of their mind still remembers Warriors’ lectures to respect authority in his era. It was always so annoying, especially since he was the only one who cared so much about how they were perceived by the guards, but the anger in his eyes after Wild’s third infraction for trespassing (it’s not like those people were USING their roofs!) was enough to convince them to behave. So, after a moment of hesitation, they raise their arm above their head.
“Both hands!” The guard juts his halberd closer to Wild’s face.
“This is all I’ve got, man.”
A lower ranking guard lifts the side of Wild’s poncho. “They’re telling the truth, sir,” they announce, gesturing to their missing right arm.
“W-well!” the officer stammers, and Wild can’t help but smirk. “Take them to a cell! Trespassing on castle grounds is no laughing matter!”
Wild rolls their eyes as one of the soldiers forcefully grabs their left arm. “You’re gonna regret this, you know.”
“Quiet you!” the senior officer snaps at them. “I’ll have no disrespect from magicians who infiltrate our defenses against the crown!”
“Fine,” Wild scoffs. “Hey, while you’re processing my intake paperwork or whatever, could you tell my brother where I am? He’ll be sooooo worried about me.”
The senior officer’s eye twitches. One of the lower ranking guards whispers, “It is protocol to inform citizens of incarcerated family members.”
“Alright! Alright!” the senior officer throws his hands up in frustration. “Just tell me and get out of here!”
“He’s the hero, Link. Ever heard of him?” Wild forces down a laugh as the officer’s face turns red. “Tell him Wild’s in prison again, and it’s not their fault this time!”
“Take them away!” the senior officer points the guard holding them towards the dungeon. “Now!”
And even though they’re being dragged into the dreaded dungeons of Hyrule Castle, Wild can’t help but laugh the entire time.
- - -
“You’re going to be in big trouble,” Wild lightly scratches at the rusty bars of their jail cell. They’re sitting on the nasty dungeon floor, legs crossed. “Seriously, it’s not too late to let me go.”
The guard stationed outside their cell sighs. “I’m not in charge of that.”
Wild huffs, pouting to themself. A little recognition wouldn’t hurt, would it? They were here all the time a decade ago! And even then, everyone knew they were with Wars. These kinds of theatrics and blunders are just rude!
“So, is Commander Link really your brother?”
Wild’s ear twitches when the guard speaks up. “Commander, huh? Wars got a promotion?”
“Uh, I-” the guard stammers. “I don’t-”
“Yeah, he’s pretty much my brother,” Wild answers. “It’s been a bit since I was in town, though.”
“YOU WHAT?!”
The shout rings through the dungeons, a shrill entitlement that Wild would know anywhere.
Wild clicks their tongue. “That’d be him,” they point their thumb towards the entrance to the dungeon. “You know, it’s been nice hanging out with you.”
“Don’t make it sound like I’m going to die.”
“I’ll put in a good word for you,” Wild promises, standing up and gripping onto one of the bars just as Warriors rounds the corner, flanked by the senior officer, who now looks flustered.
And that’s Wild’s confirmation that it’s been some time for their brother, as well. He’s sporting some well-manicured stubble, obviously, because everything about Wars is well-manicured. His hair is longer, tied back in a ponytail that reminds Wild of themself. Of course, they didn’t have a chance to do their hair before landing in the past, so it’s all loose and tangled.
“Wild?!” Warriors shouts, mostly in shock. “You’re really here?!”
“Oh thank goodness!” Wild feels like they could cry. “Wars get me out of here!”
“What are you doing here?” Wars ruffles their hair through the bars, a warm smile on both of their faces. “I thought we agreed, no more trespassing.”
“It’s not my fault, it was the portals!” Wild explains quickly. “They wouldn’t listen to me. I just woke up here!”
Hearing Wild’s poor circumstances, Wars snaps back towards the senior officer. “You ARRESTED my brother!”
“Your one-armed brother!” Wild pipes up from behind him.
“My ONE-ARMED- wait,” Warriors turns back to Wild, his tone suddenly soft as he looks at them with concern. “You lost your arm?”
Wild stares at Warriors blankly. “Don’t tell Twilight.”
“I’m not-!” Wars sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “How would I even tell him?”
Wild simply shrugs.
“We’re talking about this later,” Warriors asserts, before turning to address the officer once again. His glare is cold, and his fury is burning. “I can’t BELIEVE that you saw a clearly disoriented individual in your courtyard and decided to ARREST THEM, of all things! Who is your superior, I’ll have to inform him-!”
Wild leans over to the guard, who’s standing frozen with fear next to the cell. “I told you,” they whisper.
- - -
“I’m hungry,” Wild whines, tugging at Warriors’ sleeve. “Can we get breakfast somewhere? I didn’t get to eat before I got arrested.”
Wars, in turn, shoots them a look of annoyance. He shrugs them off, continuing down the street. “You aren’t even the slightest bit concerned that the portals are opening again?”
“Please Wars I’m starving,” Wild begs. “I got pulled out of bed.”
Warriors sighs. “Fine. If you’re so insistent on breakfast, you can have free reign of my kitchen-” A sly smile creeps onto his face. “It’s been a while since I’ve had your cooking.”
“Oh, Sir Link, how generous of you, making your guest work!” Wild elbows him with their one good arm. “You see your dear sweet baby brother again after all this time-”
“You’re almost thirty, for Hylia’s sake!”
“Your BABY BROTHER,” Wild continues, “And all you can think about is what they can do for you.”
Suddenly and swiftly, Warriors pulls Wild into a headlock. “Why is it that every hero I meet is such a brat, huh?” he wonders aloud. “First the old man, then the sailor, and now you?”
“Don’t count yourself out, Commander,” Wild retorts, wiggling their way out of Wars’ grasp. “By the way, congrats on that promotion.”
“That was ages ago, it’s like you don’t keep up with me,” Wars scoffs playfully. “But seriously, I need you to cook for me again. I haven’t been the same without your home-cooked breakfasts.”
“Well, if you insist,” Wild relents. “Though I’m going to need a certain sous chef to help me.”
“That’s only fair,” Wars nods in agreement.
Warriors’ home is a townhouse deep in the heart of Castle Town, surrounded by a tall iron fence with pointed tips. The lawn is perfectly manicured, evenly cut grass and freshly trimmed roses. He’s silent as he unlocks the gate, as he leads Wild inside. Wars quickly closes the door behind them both, the sunlight trickling through the windows the only thing illuminating the darkened foyer.
It’s grand inside, that’s for sure. The blue carpet is soft and plush, and the wooden walls are filled with paintings and pictures. But something about it is… empty. Warriors awkwardly rubs at the back of his neck at Wild’s gaze.
“Kinda quiet around here,” Wild comments, but their face goes red when they realize the harshness of their words. “Uh, I mean it’s a really nice place you’ve got, Wars! You must be doing-”
Warriors suddenly places a hand behind Wild’s back, ushering them forward. “Yes, well, Althai is with his mother this week. Come on, the kitchen is this way.”
“Althai?” Wild cocks their head. “Wars, do you have a kid?”
“Yes, but-”
Wild side steps away from Wars. “Wait, I want to meet him!”
“We can’t right now, Wild,” Warriors pinches the bridge of his nose, an irritated scowl on his face that reminds Wild of the old man. “Freya and I aren’t… together anymore, and I’d rather not face her wrath if I showed up unannounced.”
Wild blinks. “Oh, I see.”
“So!” Wars quickly snaps out of it. “How about we avoid all that, and instead, we can make your breakfast?”
“Yeah,” Wild smiles, placing a hand on his shoulder. “I was thinking crepes. You still like those, right?”
The tension fades away from Wars, and he grins back at his brother. “I’ve always loved your crepes.”
- - -
“You know, I never took you as the braiding type,” Wild remarks over a mouthful of honey crepe.
“Don’t talk while you’re eating,” Wars instinctively responds, one hand focused on Wild’s hair while he uses the other to take a bite of his own crepe.
“Aw, you sound like Zelda,” Wild pouts.
“How’s she doing, by the way?” Warriors asks. “You as well. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other.”
“We’re both doing good,” Wild announces. “I mean, after the whole revival of Ganondorf business—which is long over, by the way, please don’t worry about that—things have been quiet.” They gasp. “I have a niece now!”
“You do, huh?” Warriors says. “We’re getting old.”
“Ick, don’t remind me,” Wild sticks their tongue out. “I’m planning on staying as young and childlike as possible.”
“Again, you’re almost thirty.”
“Shut up!”
Warriors laughs at Wild’s outburst. He finishes the end of Wild’s braid, securing it with a hair tie. “All done.”
“Thanks for that, Wars,” Wild says as Wars loops around to sit across from them. “I usually get Sidon to do it, but with the one arm-”
Warriors raises a hand to stop them. “I get it, don’t worry.” His face sours quickly. “We should address the moblin in the room.”
“Right,” Wild sighs. “I definitely should not be here.”
“You’re not an unwelcome guest, but…” Warriors crosses his hands in front of him. “I haven’t heard of any black-blooded monsters again, have you?”
Wild shakes their head. “Nothing of the sort.”
“So whatever issue this is, it’s new,” he reasons. “How likely do you think it is that the two of us will be dragged away to another time together?”
“Based on past experience?” Wild questions. “That will almost certainly happen.”
“Great,” Wars rubs at his temples in agitation.
“Honestly, I’m just glad to get in at the beginning this time,” Wild admits. “You guys already knew everything by the time I joined! That wasn’t fair.”
“Easy, soldier,” Wars pats their head, much to Wild’s chagrin. “Eat up, it seems like we have somewhere to be soon.”
Wild raises an eyebrow. “Oh?”
“Congratulations, you’re going to meet your nephew,” Wars grimaces, crossing his arms together. “We’re going to my ex-wife’s house.”
- - -
"Just let me do the talking."
Wild shoots Wars a suspicious look. The two of them are standing in front of an ornate wooden door, leading into a nice stone house on the edge of the city. "She can't be that bad."
"Whatever you're thinking, Freya's worse," Warriors insists, practically sweating bullets.
Wild rolls their eyes, before reaching forward and slamming the iron knocker into the door repeatedly.
"Wild!" Warriors grabs their hand, yanking them back.
"You were taking too long!"
"I would have knocked eventually, now I have to rush through this," he hisses, pulling Wild up to eye level. "Don't annoy her, don't break anything. Don't be yourself."
"That's so rude!" Wild squirms in his grasp. "Let go, I've only got the one arm!"
“Link?”
Wars drops Wild onto the stone steps below them as he finally notices Freya at the door. She has long, dark, curled hair, pulled back into a bun. She worriedly looks down at Wild, who’s pouting on the floor at their aches.
“Freya!” Wars immediately has a wary smile on his face. “It’s so nice to see you!”
“Uh, yes…” she claps her hand together, suddenly gesturing inside. “Please, please, come in!” Freya turns over her shoulder and yells, “Althai! Your dad’s here!”
“Dad!” a small voice shouts from elsewhere, and suddenly, a child darts in and latches onto Wars’ leg. “Dad, I missed you!”
“Let me see you!” Wars lifts the kid, holding him up to his face. Aside from his tan complexion and curls, Althai is a little clone of his father, with freckled cheeks and shiny gold hair. “How are you bigger already, Alt? It’s only been a few days!”
Althai giggles, and much to Wild’s surprise, Freya laughs as well.
As Warriors turns to Wild, he balances his son on his hip. “Althai, this is your Uncle Wild.”
“Oh.” Noticing Wild for the first time, Althai almost turns smaller in his father’s grasp. “Hi,” he says, shyly offering a little hand for Wild.
“It’s nice to meet you, Althai,” Wild smiles warmly, shaking his hand.
“Uncle Wild, huh?” Freya abruptly speaks up, a scowl on her face. “Althai, how about you show our guest the garden?” Her gaze turns to Wars, who swallows nervously as he places his son back on the ground. “I need to talk to your father.”
“Um. Okay,” Althai takes Wild’s hand, guiding them past his parents. “This way.”
“Alright,” Wild agrees. Before Althai can drag them away completely, they wink at Wars. A viable alternative for a thumbs up, of course.
- - -
Freya keeps a nice garden, Wild decides. They’re sitting on the stone path, dividing the flowers from the herbs. It’s well-manicured, unlike Wild’s own attempt at a vegetable garden a few years back. Bees buzz by, which they idly watch fly along.
Althai’s got his nose buried in a book, but since he’s a kid, Wild’s willing to let such a faux pas slide. He hasn’t said a word since they left the house, though, and they’re starting to get a bit antsy.
“So…” Wild drums their fingers on their leg. “What’re you reading?”
“Uh, it’s a book,” Althai says.
Wild nods. “Sure, sure. Of course.”
Silence hangs over the two of them again. This kid is nothing like the little firecracker Zelly is, Wild realizes.
“Do you really have one arm?”
“Oh! Yeah!” Wild lifts their poncho, showing off their missing arm again. “See? Pretty cool, huh?”
“Woah.” Althai abandons his book, inspecting them closer. “How did it happen?”
“Ohhhh, what a story,” Wild recounts, putting on their best spooky voice. “I was journeying through some caves with my friend, when suddenly, we came upon this evil man, who was put down there for trying to hurt Hyrule. When we got close, he heard us and woke up! And then, he used his evil, corrosive magic to-”
“Eep!” Althai shouts, hiding his face in the green cloth of Wild’s poncho.
Fuck!
“No, no!” Wild tries to amend, pulling back the poncho to reveal Althai’s face. “I was just- I was kidding! The arm was sick, and we had to get rid of it so I could be healthy. No bad men! No evil magic!”
“Oh,” Althai sits on the ground next to Wild. “Okay.”
Wild ruffles his hair. “You like stories, don’t you, kid?”
“Yeah,” Althai picks at the grass.
“Well, has your dad ever told you the story about his journey with the other Heroes across time?”
Althai perks up, nodding. “Mhm! All the Links!”
“Well, did you know I’m one of those Links?” Wild gestures to themself. “It’s true! I’m from thousands of years in the future!”
Althai gasps. “Really?!”
“Yes, really,” Wild confirms. “You know, I’ve got a few stories about your dad from back then. Stories I’m sure he never told you.”
“Tell me!” Althai jumps up, tugging on Wild’s shoulder. “Tell me tell me tell me!”
“Alright, alright, settle down.” Wild pulls the kid into their lap. “How about… the time we lost him on the coldest mountain in Hyrule?”
- - -
“So,” Freya crosses her arms, looking out the window. Her ex-husband sits across from her at the kitchen table. “That’s the Hero of the Wild in my backyard, isn’t it?”
“Er, yes,” Wars awkwardly scratches the back of his head. “Yes it is.”
“Alright, Link,” she pinches the bridge of her nose and sighs. “What happened?”
"Freya, please, it's none of your concern."
"None of my-?!" Freya is taken aback. "How about this, Link. Is it another journey?"
Warriors nods. "Most likely, yes."
"So then Althai needs to stay with me for who knows how long," she reasons. "Which means I need to get his things from your place, and I'll be making the trip to his school to pick him up for weeks. Not to mention the fact that I'll have to comfort my kid over his father's absence."
"I don't have a choice!" Wars reminds her. "Do you think I want to miss my time with Althai?"
"I'm not saying that, Link!" Freya corrects. "I'm saying that this very obviously affects me, whether you'll admit it or not." She covers his hand with her own. "Tell me what happened, alright? Just because we're not married doesn't mean we can't be friends."
Friends, huh?
"I know you're excited to see Wild, again," Freya smiles. "It's been so long, you're allowed to want to see your friends."
"Even if it means leaving Althai?" Warriors frowns. He flips his hand to hold hers.
"He'll be alright," Freya says. "He's tough, just like his dad. He'll be waiting here when you get back."
"When I get back," Wars echoes. "Yes, you're right! We'll visit when we can, and you and Althai can meet all of them!" Wars suddenly takes both her hands. "I'll be back before you know it, I promise."
"Thank you, Link," Freya sighs in relief. "How about we invite those two rascals back in? I'd love to get to know your brother."
"That's a great idea," Warriors grins. "I knew you were my best idea maker."
"Always have been."
- - -
“I’ll see you soon, Alty,” Wild kneels down to pat the kid’s head. “Remember, if your dad doesn’t let you do something, tell him that Uncle Legend would.”
“Wild, what are you telling my kid?” Wars crosses his arms and scowls. Once again, the image of Time and his disappointing glare comes right to Wild’s mind.
“Nothing!” Wild steps aside. “Just saying he should stay in school! Stuff like that!”
“Sure.” Wild can tell by his tone that Warriors doesn’t believe them, but he instead chooses to scoop Althai up in a hug. “Be good for your mother, my little bookworm. I’ll be back soon! Once this is all done, I’m taking you for ice cream.”
“Alright, Dad!” Althai giggles, wrapping his arms around his father’s neck. “I’ll miss you.”
“And I’ll miss you.” With his free hand, Wars digs through his pockets, producing a key that he offers to Freya. “This is my spare key. Take it, it’s yours.”
“Why thank you, Sir Link,” Freya graciously takes the key. “I’ll be sure to keep all your plants watered.”
And so, Wild and Wars find themselves back on the road, walking side by side as the sun sets. Wild takes a deep breath and sighs, enjoying the fresh air.
This is it.
“You know, Freya was actually very nice,” Wild says, smirking.
Warriors scoffs. “Oh, quiet you.”
“You’re still so dramatic,” they remark. “I can’t believe a word you say.”
“Hush,” Wars wraps an arm around Wild’s shoulder, drawing them close. “I’m trying to enjoy having my brother back, and you’re ruining it.”
Wild laughs, but before they can respond with their own witty comeback, there’s a bright light. Blinking through the brightness, the heroes find a portal in front of them, its golden swirls welcoming and inviting.
“Well, I guess it’s time,” Wild says. “You ready, Commander?”
“I guess I am, Chef,” Wars smiles.
“Aw, it’s cute you think I’m professionally trained.”
And so, once again, two of Hylia’s heroes step through a portal again, with neither an idea of where they’re going nor a care in the world.

Link and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad (Perfect) Day
It's always 'link buys Sidon a sapphire bracelet, unknowingly proposing to him' and never 'sidon buys link a diamond ring, unknowingly proposing to him' they're both himbos this is missed potential. So anyway, happy post a wip.
--
Sidon shuffled, waiting awkwardly for a specific blonde Hylian head to walk through the door. He'd hoped Link was able to make it, part of him thought he wouldn't come despite it being incredibly out of character.
A waitress walked up to him with a smile.
"Hi! I'm Neva, I'll be serving you tonight!" Sidon smiled lopsidedly.
"I'm waiting for someone, but I wouldn't mind a bottle of Voltfruit wine." She nodded, walking off to get it. He turned his eyes towards the door again, bouncing his leg, his head fin thumping against his back.
'He's going to come.' he told himself 'He's never stood you up before, he always comes.'
Just as he was about to tear his eyes away, a pale hand pushed open the palm frond curtain in the door way, and a blonde headed Hylian, dressed in royal guard's attire, stepped into the establishment.
Sidon sat up with a smile, waving him over.
"Link! I'm so happy you could make it?" The hylian blushed, taking his beret off and sitting it in his lap.
"I almost couldn't! It was as if Zelda was trying to keep me hostage! I didn't even change," he laughed. Sidon sighed happily, Link was so perfect. The waitress came back with his wine a little shocked to see the other person at the table.
"Uhm, hello Link! Welcome back." Link waved.
"Hi Neva! You can go ahead and get me the regular."
Sidon tilted his head.
"And what can I get you?" Sidon's cheeks flushed, he glanced at the menu, his eyes widening. It was a very large selection, all seafood dishes.
"Uhm... I'll have the spicy surf and turf curry?" She smiled.
"Excellent choice! Would you like steak or chicken?"
"Uhm, chicken."
"And crab, porgy, bass, or trout?"
"Trout."
She nodded.
"Alright, I'll be out with your food. It's made to order, so you should expect about half an hour."
Sidon thanked her and turned his attention back to Link.
"So..." Link started, rubbing the back of his neck. Sidon rolled his lips thin, picking up his wine glass.
"How's...Prince...stuff?" It came out a lot dryer than Link planned it to be. But it seemed to lighten the mood, bringing a soft smile to Sidon's face.
"It's been... Incredibly stressful and overbearing, to be honest. Nothing but important meetings and conferences nonstop for the past week." Link winced.
"But...I feel a lot more at ease when I'm with you." Sidon cooed, relishing in the pink that grew on Link's cheeks.
"And how's today been? For you? Get any cool presents?" Link giggled. Giggled, taking a sip of his wine.
"No, not the cool gifts, per se, mostly food. I got a muffin basket, Zelda made me crepes for breakfast, Mom gave me more books on alchemy. You took me to my favorite restaurant." Sidon smiled.
"Well, I have another gift but it's for after dinner."
Link perked up.
"What is it?" Sidon laughed.
"I'm not gonna tell you, it would ruin it."
Link pouted, shrinking in his seat.
They continued to joke and laugh until their food came, Sidon was shocked by how good his dish was. There certainly was no wonder the restaurant was his favorite. Link didn't put his spoon down until his plate was clean. They both shared a laugh at how distracted they were by the food.
"We barely even talked," Link chuckled.
"It's not our fault this food is exceptional!"
"I know right? It's probably the best thing I've ever eaten."
"Hm, it's not better than your food. Sometimes I can still taste that salmon meuniere." Sidon licked his lips. He'd just ate and he was already hungry.
Link blushed, ducking his head.
Neva arrived with their check shortly after. Link and Sidon both reached into their pockets. Sidon pulled a face.
"You aren't paying for your birthday present." He asserted, putting a satchel of rupees in Neva's hand.
Sidon stood, grabbing his hand and leading him out of the restaurant.
"Come on, let's get your last birthday present." Link smiled, shuffling behind him. He wasn't greedy, definitely not, but Sidon always have the best presents. Somehow, each year, each occasion, every present was better than the last. Link started to look forward to getting things from him, terrible as it sounds.
When they finally came to a stop, they were at a nice spot on the beach, at a perfect vantage point to watch the sunset. Sidon's headfin wagged with his impatience.
"I wanted to get you something special, so I went to a jewelry shoppe in Castle Town and, well..." Sidon reached into the bag on his hip pulling out a small velvet box. Link gasped, his eyes widening.
Is that? Sidon opened the box to reveal an ornate silver ring with an opal on it. Link's eyes welled with tears, his hand flying up over his mouth
"Link, I--"
"Yes." He didn't even let him finish, rubbing the tears from his eyes. Sidon tilted his head.
"Yes?"
Link nodded.
"Of course, yes." Sidon pursed his lips, trying to put the pieces together.
"Yes...what?" Link's smile faltered.
"Yes to your proposal?" Link stared into Sidon's eyes. All he saw was deepening confusion. Link's eyes widened in mortification.
"You're asking me to marry you, right?" He asked in a panic. Sidon sputtered.
"What would make you think that?"
"Oh, I don't know, maybe the dinner at my favorite restaurant and the walk on the beach and the romantic sunset! Or the engagement ring you're holding!" Sidon was taken aback.
"Engagement ring? This is an...Oh, Hylia. I had no idea I..."
"How did you have no idea?"
"I just went to a Hylian jewelry shoppe and asked the clerk "What would I gift to a Hylian I love very much more than anything?" In Zora culture there's this whole courting gift procedure and then you give your partner a sapphire amulet!"
Link rolled his lips thin. Right, of course. They aren't from the same culture, why wouldn't there be a difference in proposals.
I'm such an idiot.
He was so embarrassed, he just wanted to curl into a ball and die.
"Wait, you said yes." Link's cheeks burned hot.
"N--no!"
"Do you...want to marry me?"
"maybe? I don't know! I just..." He groaned, burying his face in his hands. This was horrible. Terrible. The worst. Sidon probably hated him. What kind of person just accepts marriage proposals.
"Link," he sighed. Link braced himself. Here it comes, he cursed. Sidon was going to tell him he never wanted to talk to him again, never wanted to see him again, call him a weirdo. Clingy, stupid, every horrible thing Link could think of.
Sidon grabbed his left wrist, gently pulling it off his face. He slowly slid Link's glove off.
"This was, actually, supposed to be the first gift. I was going to ask you if you'd allow me to court you but...We can do this the hylian way." Link looked up, his face confused yet hopeful. Sidon took the ring off the plush cushion of the box and sliding it onto his ring finger.
"The, uh, yes still stands, right?" Link smiled, albeit wobbly, tugging Sidon down by his forearm to kiss him.
"Of course."

I just finished reading The Ties that Bind, and I love it! I have a small suggestion, one that you could completely ignore if you would like. Will Fable, Legend’s Zelda, meet Sky? Or Sky and the rest of the chain? I feel like that would be fun. But this is just an idea that I had, I’m not pressuring you do to anything.
I'm sorry it took so long to get to your ask, Anon! I've been thinking about this for a while, and the truth is that, while I would LOVE to have Sky meet all of his daughters at some point, I don't know if it will happen in the main plot of the story itself.
Currently in the story, they are in Legend's Hyrule, so there is a good chance of it happening, I just don't know if it will.
Considering this came along with various fic requests, I did end up writing something where they 'meet' but.. I'm terribly sorry, it's entirely crack, and I took way too many liberties with it.
I hope it will do to hold you over until Fable can make an actual appearance in the story!
“So, we finally get to meet your sister?” Hyrule asked, following as Legend led their group down the halls of Hyrule castle.
“Yes.”
“Yes!” Wind pumped his fists. “The only Zelda we haven’t met! I wonder what she’s like?”
“Kickass.” Legend smirked, stopping before one of the opulent doors and turning to face them. “I’d watch yourselves.”
There were a lot of things the Chain was expecting to see when they walked through the doors, but Warriors wasn’t expecting to see a young woman who looked quite ridiculously like Legend, if not for the haircut, spinning around to see look at them before having a wide smile break over her face.
“Z?”
“Link!” And the princess was running, running forwards with feather soft, tinkling laughter into the arms of...Wild? “Oh, Link! I haven’t seen you in ages! Why, look at you! Growing your hair out I see.” Another giggle drifted into the air as the girl brushed a hand through the Champion’s messy bangs.
Wild flushed slightly, much to the shock of all present, but especially to Legend, who stared between the two with his mouth hanging open.
“Everyone’s missed you so terribly, especially after you disappeared so suddenly! The Master was absolutely furious.” Fable added with a nervous laugh, smacking Wild’s arm lightly. “Thank goodness I can tell him all is well and you didn’t get killed or something, we thought he’d oust Robin for good when we couldn’t find you!”
Wild winced, nodding slightly. “I’m on another quest, but maybe I can send a letter? The mail system is working pretty well, for some reason.”
“Not out of Hyrule unfortunately.” Fable pouted, seemingly taking no interest in noticing the rest of them for the moment, instead continuing to stand in Wild’s personal space, neither having quite let go from their unexpected and rather startling hug. “Without you, the Master has closed all contact with Hyrule; I don’t think he wanted anything else to happen, especially since Mother would have been furious if someone else had gone missing.”
“Wait,” Warriors turned to see Wind staring at the- couple? Duo? “Zelly?”
“Tune!” Fable squeaked, pulling away from Wild and darting over to hug the second smallest hero. “My goodness you’ve grown! Are the two of you on an adventure together then? Wonderful!” Ocean blue eyes trailed up to look at the rest of their gang and Fable brightened even more. “Why, all of you are here!”
“All of us?” He couldn’t keep confusion from his tone as he spoke, quirking a brow.
“Well, nearly all,” Fable frowned, setting Wind down to gently stroke her chin. “And here I hoped to see Young Link again.”
Warriors was going to lose his mind. “Young Link?” His eyes turned to Time, who smiled with a light flush, raising one hand in a nearly shy wave.
“Hey, Zelly.”
The princess gasped, hands flying up to cover her mouth as she stared upwards to meet Time’s gaze. “Young Link? My. Goodness! Look- Oh my! You’re all grown up, aren’t you? I declare, you get even more terrifying than half of the others!”
“Legend,” Sky was grinning as bright and warm as the princess, eyes sparkling in the same manner and erasing any doubt that he was the young woman’s ancestor. “You didn’t tell us your sister was The Princess Zelda!”
Legend stared up at his ancestor in disbelief before shaking off Sky’s hands and throwing up his own. “That’s it,” The vet spun on his heel and turned towards the door. “I’m gonna go bang my head against the wall for an hour, toodles.”
“Well,” Fable turned to Sky with a bright grin. “It is wonderful to see you again, Link. Good heavens, how on earth do all of you handle being ‘Link’, it was bad enough having you all switch out, but now you’re all together at once! How do you handle it?”
“I go by Sky,” The Skyloftian replied with a fond smile. “He’s Wild, Wind, and Time. We use our hero titles.”
“Oh! That is clever! Sheik and I both have different names, so I suppose had it easy, I’m surprised no one thought of that before, what with how you all switched out so often- oh!” And the princess was spinning around to look up at Twi. “We’ve missed you too of course, but I must ask, since you’re all apparently time-traveling or some nonsense, could you give a message to your Zelda for me? I haven’t seen her in ever so long, and I do miss being able to talk over things with her.”
“I’ll pass it along.”
“You too.” She turned to Time, brows furrowing lightly. “Sheif is so terrible about writing to me, and I’ve missed being able to ask for advice with my fighting skills.”
“Understood.” Time grinned, earning a mirror expression from the princess.
How the heck was everyone taking this all in stride? Was Legend’s sister...dating Wild or some shit? How did she know Wind and Time? How did she know Sky? How did she know any of them?
“So,” Twilight cocked a hip and stared down at the princess with a warm smile. “They let you stay around, even after switching out all of us?”
“Yep! I am, apparently, quite the favorite. As is L- I mean Wild.” She sent a warm smile towards said hero, who flushed with pleasure. Ew.
“Should’a known it, he's a good kid.”
“He says you mentored him, so I suppose that can be attributed, in part, to you!”
“Aw, thanks, Zelly.”
Warriors would like a drink now please.
“Wait,” Four stared at the princess, eyes slitted and brows furrowed in a way that revealed he was clearly having a headache as well. “You’re- good grief- you know all of us, don’t you?”
Warriors really needs a drink. Seriously? Four too?
“And who are you?” Fable cocked her head.
Four flushed, ducking his head. “Hero of the Four Sword.”
Like a switch had been flipped, recognition sparked in Fable’s gaze. “Oh! That- that makes sense! I had forgotten, I suppose, how you all- well-” She waved her hand vaguely, and while none of the others seemed to understand it (thank Hylia he wasn’t the only one), Four apparently did. “You don’t think it’s weird?”
“Heavens no!” Fable drew back, looking mildly offended. “Link- my Link- or rather, my brother- Good heavens, what on earth do you all call him?”
“Idiot. Pain in the ass. Veteran.” Warriors listed off, making sure his displeasure with being left out of the conversation was made very clear.
“Legend.” Hyrule answered, shooting a glare Warriors’ way.
“Legend, my, that fits,” Fable shook her head with another tinkling laugh. “Does the same thing, albeit in a different manner and without the use of the Four Sword.”
“Heard that!” Legend shouted from just outside the room. “Stop telling them things!”
“Then come in here and make me, you sissy!”
The vet stormed back in, cheeks red and brow looking considerably more bruised than it had been ten minutes previous. “Not a sissy.”
“Yet you only appear on occasion, and never fight?” The princess snarked, hands on her hips.
“Do I look like I have the time to be fighting?” Legend returned, mirroring her pose with enough attitude to match the blue flames of the princess’s gaze.
“Well, if you have time to play dress up-”
“Necessary for a mission, miss ‘I fight duels in my regalia’.”
“I win duels in my regalia, thank you very much.”
“Heck yeah you do.” And was that- pride in the vet’s voice? “You scare the shit out of all of them.”
“I always was the better of the two of us at doing that, you just spend your time talking to cuckos and wearing my clothes.” The princess smirked.
Legend didn’t even have the decency to flush, crossing his arms with a smirk of his own. “You have to admit, I look better in it than you do.”
“Yes.” Fable beamed. “Yes, you do, and I hate it.” Her smile said the opposite but the conversation seemed to be over at that, the princess turning to continue conversing with the other heroes only to spin around again and clap her hands. “Oh! You're off exploring and adventuring, so you drop a message for me! Tell Peach and Daisy that I’m awful sorry I missed tea last time, we’ve been trying for weeks to get around to it, but with L- Wild having disappeared, the Master simply won’t give me the free time and Mother’s been just as strict.”
Legend pouted. “Only if they’re the only ones home, if I have to see that insufferable plumber’s face again I think I might just punch him.”
“Please do.” Fable spat. “He used that stupid hat of his to mind control me and make me kick the crap out of my team.”
“He mind controlled my sister?” Legend hissed.
“Yes, that dumb hat of his is sentient now, and he can force us to do things.”
“I hate that thing.” Wild scowled.
“Same.” Several others echoed.
Sky looked between them all. “Are we talking about Mario? Because if so, Legend, I will totally join you in punching him in the face, that guy is a pain!”
“Oh, him!” Hyrule scowled. “I don’t like him; he grates on my nerves like nobody's business.”
“He’s worse than Tingle.” Wind added, face screwed up in distain.
“Seconded.” Twilight and Time called out together.
“Third, Fourth, Fifth and sixthed.” Four added.
“Just because your name is ‘Four’ doesn’t mean you get four votes.” Warriors groaned, staring at his companions in irritation. “And who the heck are you all talking about? How do all of you know him? Is he immortal?”
“Hylia, I hope not.” Nine voices groaned at once.
“Neighboring kingdom.” Legend replied. “The Mushroom kingdom’s own hero is an idiot plumber by the name of Mario. His twin isn’t bad, but he’s a piece of work. I’ve had to deal with outbreaks of monsters from their kingdom on multiple occasions because he can’t keep them contained. Add in there that their princess is captured every other Tuesday because the guy can’t up and beat her kidnapper for good, and the kingdoms a mess.” Legend paused, frowning. “Wait, I just agreed to go there, didn’t I?”
“Yep.” Fable chirped. “But don’t worry, Bowser is hanging out with his kids this weekend, so he shouldn’t be causing problems while you’re all here.”
Warriors groaned, this time, loud enough that all of them heard him. “Bowser? Are you on a familiar enough standing with some villain that he tells you his weekend plans?”
“Yes.” The twin siblings answered, Fable bright and cherry while Legend deadpanned.
“We even play sports with him on occasion.” Fable added.
“And who,” Warriors tacked on, absolutely done and uncaring for the fact that apparently Legend and Fable played golf or something with their neighboring kingdoms greatest threat. “The heck! Is Mario?”
Nine pairs of eyes stared back at him for a moment, blinking in confusion.
“You know,” Twilight stated slowly. “Has anyone actually ever seen Wars at an event?”
“Come to think of it,” Fable tapped her chin. “You are the only one I’ve never seen before.”
“The only one?” Can Warriors please get a drink?
“I’ve met all of the others, be it in racing, sports, fighting matches, any number of things, but I don’t think I’ve ever even seen you, much less heard of you. Who are you?”
“That,” Legend smirked. “Is the Hero of Warriors. And I don’t know if I should laugh or feel bad that he was never popular enough to get selected for the games.”
“You weren’t either.” Wind hissed.
“Mom said I was on bed rest from being struck by lightning.” Legend waved him off. “I’ve had my time in the Mushroom kingdom, and if they ever do invite me back, I’d burn that Smash invite so fast the Master would think it never arrived.”
That’s it. He’s done. “Legend, I’m stealing your thunder-”
“Please do.”
“I’m going to go bang my head against the wall until the world makes sense again, or until I black out, Bye.” And with that, Warriors left.
(This entire fic was inspired by @tortilla-of-courage, her blog had a stint of asks about the boys knowing each other from Mario Kart and whatnot and it set my brain spinning. I blame her that this was the only thing I could think of when trying to write Sky meeting Fable. Thank's Tortilla!)

Hey, uh, @lemonlurkrr I uh, I saw you asking about FD stuff a few days ago, and I remembered I wrote a thing based on the mythology my best friend and I came up with a while ago, so I dug through my google docs and found it again. I dunno if you’re still looking for stuff, but uh, here you go regardless, I guess
-----------
Termanius huffed, hands on her brother’s shoulders. The Fierce Deity was groaning, bent double and grasping his middle to stem the flow of dark and tarnished ichor originating there. His left hand was still wrapped around the grip of his sword, the massive double helix blade buried in the ground.
Majora stood a few feet away, cackling like a maniac. They found this whole thing hilarious, as only something born of Chaos could.
Termanius grit her teeth. No help would be coming, Hylia and Lolia both busy with their own Chaos entities, fighting their own demons. This was a battle she and her brother must face alone. And she was done sitting back.
Termanius was a Guardian Goddess, a protector of the Triforces. Termina was her domain. Time, Light, Protection, each Guardian Goddess was all three, though they each embodied one more than the others. Hylia was Light, magic poured and focused through her harp and sword, her smile and laughter bright. Lolia was Protection, her scepter and shield dangerous weapons when raised to defend others, and she was unwilling to ever back down when people needed her.
But Termanius was Time, and time was a passive force. It passed no matter what occurred, and it’s flow was impossible to stop. Termanius had no harp and sword, no scepter and shield. She had no artifact to wield against evil, because she wasn’t active like Hylia and Lolia, she just watched and oversaw. All she had was an ocarina, an instrument and not a weapon. Instead she had her brother, her precious twin, the terrifying War God, the Fierce Deity. He was meant to fight for her, his double helix blade wielded in battle in her name. Termanius was not a fighter, and so that was all the Fierce Deity was. They were meant to be a balance.
He was not supposed to die for her.
He was not supposed to die doing her job.
Termanius was the Guardian Goddess of Termina. She was meant to guard these people and their Triforce from evil. The Fierce Deity was only meant to support her.
She would just have to guard him too.
“Terma,” Fierce Deity reached out to grab her wrist as she stood, lifting his head to her, glowing eyes full of pain and worry. “Stop, what are you,” he cut off with a cough.
Termanius reached down and set her hand over his, ignoring the warm and wet feel of his ichor on her wrist from his grabbing her. “Relax, Oni,” the nickname rolled off her tongue with a pain she didn’t understand just then. Time was a fickle thing, and seeing through it a curse as much a blessing. She remembered giving it to him like she’d lived it again just seconds before. “I’m just going to be doing my job,”
“Hey, Fierce Deity!” Hylia waved the towering man over, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “I just realized, Terma has a nickname since her name is so long, but your name is two words and you don’t have one. What gives?”
The Fierce Deity shrugged, confused. “Do I need one?” His voice rolled over the plains like a rumble of thunder, powerful and wild.
“Cut the dramatics, Fiercy,” Lolia waved, rolling her eyes and adjusting the bracers on her arms. “You don’t need the voice with just us,”
“Fiercy?” Termanius repeated.
“No,” was the only response from the Fierce Deity, though he had dropped the voice.
“I’m with Dea here, that sounds like something an 11 year old human would come up with,” Hylia smiled, even as her sister stuck her tongue out at her.
“Dea?” Termanius echoed.
“No,” Fierce Deity repeated himself.
Hylia threw up her arms as Lolia laughed at her.
“What about Oni?” Termanius offered, both her sisters giving her a weird look.
“Doesn’t that mean ‘demon’?” Lolia asked. “I thought I read that somewhere,”
“Oh, but he’s our demon!” Hylia cooed, leaning over to him. “A demon to fight the demons.”
“I can fight demons just fine on my own,” Lolia huffed.
Hylia waved her twin off. “Sure, you can. And I’m no pushover myself, but Terma’s not a fighter. She could use a demon to help her out,”
“True,” Lolia agreed.
“Well,” Termanius looked at Fierce Deity. “How about Oni?”
Fierce Deity hummed, then nodded. “Acceptable,”
The girls cheered, then Lolia and Termanius convinced him to sit down, shortly before Hylia started draping him in flower chains without letting him know. She got to ten before he noticed he was wearing flowers this time.
It seemed so long ago, that life belonging to another person now, though her domain over time made it seem like it was mere minutes ago, simultaneously. Now, her older sisters had both been slain by demons of Chaos themselves, Demise and Ruin stealing the twins from divinity and trapping them in mortal reincarnations. And now this Majora threatened to steal not just her brother in the same way, but threatened all she was meant to protect. Termanius would not lose anything else. Lolia may be the Goddess of Protection, but Termanius was meant to protect this world and its people. Hylia may be the Goddess of Light, but Termanius had magic too, and she planned to use it.
She reached out her hand, pulling forth all the power in her possession, her might and desire and desperation and hope pooling together and spilling forth with a cry. She wouldn’t let this demon hurt her people, her brother, her home. She was the Guardian Goddess of Termina, and she would guard her plane.
Majora stopped laughing.
When the light dimmed, all that was left was a barely visible goddess and a floating mask, Majora’s twisted and grotesque visage in all it’s markings. Termanius couldn’t seal like her sisters, but she could do something they couldn’t. She could transform.
The mask that used to be Majora dropped, their screams still echoing in Termanius’ mind. She dropped to her knees a moment later herself, weak and tired. She wasn’t meant to do so much at once.
“Terma,” there was a cough and a soft thud, and Termanius twisted to see Fierce Deity collapsed behind her.
“Oni!” She crawled to her brother’s side, turning him over, struggling as her hands clipped through him. His injury had grown. “Easy, easy there brother. You’re gonna be okay,”
“No, I’m not,” the amount of words used had Termanius pulling back. He wasn’t usually so vocal. “Neither are you,”
“Don’t be so pessimistic, we’ll be fine,” Termanius tried to smile at him to reassure him.
“No,” his voice was firm, and he grabbed Termanius’ wrist, the fading appendage not affecting his grip. “No, it’ll be back. You can’t fight it when it does. I can’t heal from this. A reborn god alone can’t beat a demon. You know what needs to be done.”
Termanius would deny the tears started here. “No, we’ll be fine, you’ll see, we’ll, we’ll be fine, you just have to hold on,”
“Terma,”
She broke, sobbing into her brother’s chest, desperate for another way, but knowing there was none. “I’m sorry,”
A bloody hand in her hair. “I am too,”
She hid Majora’s mask, deep in the woods of her world, hidden and buried where none would find it if they were lucky. Her brother she took up to the moon with her, the plains within it where they and their sisters used to play a fitting last place for them to be, she felt. The Moon Children hovering around, waiting. They knew what would come, and what she would ask of them. They had agreed.
Termanius pulled her brother close, sobbing into his chest as she held him in her lap. He cried tears of his own, silent and sad and accepting, holding her in turn.
The siblings were engulfed then in light, a final act of protection from the both of them for their people.
When the light faded, all that was left was a white haired mask with blue and red markings sitting on the ground where the twins used to be.
...
Eons and eras later, after a violent split of the timelines in Hyrule, Majora’s mask was found and donned. With a heavy heart, Termanius looked out and knew there was no one in Termina now who could host her brother and defeat him.
She needn’t have worried, as when she heard her name cried out in desperation, looking down had her noticing a small deku scrub, no a Hylian, who was strong enough. A fairy called out for her aid, and that’s when she realized this small Hylian had her ocarina. A savior sent to her by her sister when she needed one most.
He made it to the moon, spoke with the Moon Children. He took her brother’s mask.
He put it on, and he and Fierce Deity defeated Majora, finally and forever.
This boy, this Hero chosen by Hylia, saved Termina. This eleven year old Hylian boy named Link who did with her brother’s power what the two gods could not.
He called Termanius’ brother ‘Fiercy’.

It was a bright and sunny day in Faron. It would have been the perfect day to relax or maybe take Epona for a ride to the springs. Unfortunately even the warmth of the sun couldn’t improve the day, only highlighting the shadow of the largest Hinox Link had ever seen. And it was right on his tail. Or, more accurately, Epona's tail. Link urged Epone faster with his knees, nocking two bomb arrows on Revali’s bow. Directing Epona to curve her path around the Hinox, he loosed the arrows directly at the beast's giant eye. The hinox fell to the ground with a thunderous roar, its arms coming up to hold its eye. Familiar with their routine, Epona raced towards the wailing creature. Link readied himself with his feet on Epona’s saddle and, when she curved in front of the Hinox, he threw himself into the air. Flipping, Link slashed through the Hinox’s gut, landing in front of it as it exploded in a cloud of dark dust.
Link was starting to feel like a glorified errand boy with all the tasks he kept being given. He loved to help people, he really did. Still… Robbie could have at least warned him about the three Hinox’s guarding the shrine he had to find.
Using stasis on the metallic ball, Link and Epona rode up the hill to the hidden shrine for the third time. It was a short trip and the moment the ball hit its place, the ground began shaking. Robbie had informed him that the item he was searching for would be hidden at the end of the shrine trial. The Sheikah had placed it there during Link’s hundred year's rest when the Yiga clan had begun attacking in hopes of finding it. The shrine and its hidden treasure were tucked beneath the earth for safekeeping.
Until now.
------
It turned out that the trial of the shrine was getting the orbs from the Hinox brothers. Link had been quick to collect Robbie’s treasure, some kind of guardian power source that seemed familiar to Link, and a spirit orb from the monk. Once he stepped off the shrine platform Link mounted Epone and began his trip back to the stables. He didn’t get much farther than the area the largest Hinox had been when he heard the rushing water. He supposed he had been too focused on the battles to pay much attention to nature around him. It was nice.
Apparently Epona felt the same as him, because as she trotted to the bottom of the hill she headed to the pond at the bottom of the waterfall. They spent a few moments taking in the beauty of the waterfall, the soft crash soothing as it brought forth memories of his first time at this waterfall.
Link stood panting in ankle deep water. He would have been irritated with the water that would no doubt soak its way through his boots had it not been for the intense battle taking place. Y/n was currently running towards him, closely followed by a giant Hinox.
Robbie had sent them in search of an important treasure his teacher had hidden away in the area. Unfortunately his teacher’s notes had failed to mention the trio of Hinox’s guarding the location. Thoroughly underprepared, the two champions were pressed to take on one Hinox each while dodging the thirds reaching fists. They had managed to find a rhythm of tricking them into hitting each other then rushing the third. The plan worked fairly well, especially with Y/n loosing bomb arrows into their eyes frequently enough to keep them at bay.
Link had finished off the second while Y/n distracted the largest one. Now they would take it down together. It was no doubt low on health after so much slashing, all they had to do was find an opening for the finishing blows. And Link had just found his opening. He rushed out in front of the Hinox, passing Y/n and sliding through the wet grass between the beast's legs. Popping up behind it, Link slashed its legs as hard as he could.
With a roar, the Hinox turned towards Link only to fall  to its knees as they gave out beneath it. From behind the wounded creature, Y/n shot up using its shoulders as a springboard. Twisting in the air, Y/n loosed two quick volleys of bomb arrows, each one sticking to its chest. Y/n landed with a roll, shooting one more volley before they grabbed Link by the hand.
They raced into the swirling water and, with a shock, Link realized right towards the waterfall. Even this small waterfall still required jumping from a large enough height and falling. Link tugged on their wrist, urging them to stop and find another way. He didn’t care if he had to shield them himself so long as it meant they wouldn’t have to face their fears again.
“With how many bomb arrows I shot into that beast, it’s gonna be a big blast. We have to get out of range.”
They sounded so confident. They were always confident in their plans even when their body betrayed them. Even now, the tremble in their jaw paired with how tightly they were holding his hand.
Y/n was afraid.
The duo reached the edge and Link squeezed Y/n’s hand. He would be by their side no matter what they faced.
They would never be alone.
They jumped over the edge right as the Hinox lit up in an explosion of malice and guts. As they fell towards the water below Y/n pulled Link closer. They hit the water with a crash. Link popped up from beneath the waterfall, sweeping his bangs out of his eyes. He let out a breathless laugh, sliding his eyes over to Y/n. “We did it Y/n.”
“Y/n?” Where were they? He splashed around frantically trying to see below the rippled water. They hadn’t come up yet. He had let go and now he had lost them. “Y/N!”
The water bubbled next to him and suddenly Y/n popped up. “Link I fou- oh!?”
Link grabbed Y/n as tightly as he could, pulling them into himself. Whatever it was didn’t matter to him. Y/n was safe. “Thank Hylia you’re alright. You didn’t come up, I thought…”
“Oh! I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to let go of your hand.” Y/n wrapped themselves closer to him, their fingers running through his wet hair. “But, I came up beneath the waterfall and found a treasure chest. Might be what we’re looking for.”
Link hummed softly, leaning into their touch. If it didn’t feel so good to have them combing his hair so softly Link would’ve been embarrassed by the soft snort that escaped them. Y/n brought their other hand up to rest lightly on his face and he opened his eyes. This time he did blush. The way Y/n looked at him, the reflection of the water making their eyes glitter like rubies. He reached op, linking their fingers together. Y/n smiled lightly, their face leaning ever so slightly forward.
Splash!
Both champions shot away from each other, scrambling for their weapons. They were met with the sight of their horses standing in the water. Link sheathed his sword with a sigh. He was about to turn to Y/n when his face burned up. Had that really happened? There was a light splash as Y/n dunked their whole head under the surface. Link took the moment to pat his own cheeks with the cool water. Part of him cursed their horses for their timing.
Y/n popped up from the water facing the waterfall. “We should go see if that’s the right chest.”
“Right.”
With a quick dive, the duo found the chest sitting on a single rock behind the waterfall. Link was the first to approach, reaching out to grab hold of the lid. He gave it a firm shake, then another. And then a third to be sure.
“It’s locked.”
“What!?” Y/n reached out giving the chest a shake. When it didn’t budge they groaned.
Link took over, finding a sharp rock and trying to pry it open as he grumbled. “You’d think Robbie would mention their being a key. Or I don’t know. Maybe give us one?”
“Oh!” Y/n snapped their fingers. “I know what to do!”
What Link was not expecting was for them to pull the stick from their hair. It was a thin needle with a red bead strung to the end of it. Y/n always used it to hold back their hair just like the rest of the Sheikah warriors. Strands of wet hair fell around their face. Their brow furrowed as they carefully stuck the needle into the lock. Link was barely watching what they were doing, far too distracted by the way they looked with their hair down.
An audible click echoed in the small cave as Y/n successfully picked the lock. They gave a laugh in victory as they grabbed the glowing power source from the chest. Y/n turned to look at him again only for their breath to catch in their throat at the way he was staring “What?”
“You’re beautiful”
A squeak escaped Y/n as Link choked on his breath. Had he really said that out loud!? “Uh, you’re really beautiful too! Ah wait, I meant handsome? Oh shoot.”
He laughed. Really laughed as Y/n stumbled over their words. They gave a sheepish grin. Both champions laughed, letting loose after how busy they had been. Even if it meant embarrassing themselves, it was nice to be able to let loose and laugh.
“We should get dried off before we catch a cold.” Link nudged Y/n, floating closer to the waterfall with a smirk. “I’ll race you to the horses!”
And he dove under the waterfall.
“What!?”
Y/n dove quickly, racing after their partner. “That’s not fair! You are such a cheater!”
“You’re just too slow!”
"That's my line!" The champions laughed. Once they could stand they raced through the water, pushing and splashing as they ran.

Possessed Legend Go Brr
You know I was gonna just post a snippet bc I stopped writing this like five months ago bUT HERE HAVE A MESSY, UNEDITED BUT COMPLETE THING I GUESS?? Any grammatical errors will probably be looked over tomorrow dfnsav
So. The Lost Woods were still creepy as hell. Good to know. A dense fog still covered the area, and crows still screamed their call-and-respond at random seemingly just to startle anyone not expecting it. The same old eerie lantern-light darted between the trees, the same poes laughed at the group as they got up and dusted themselves off.
Some things would never change, Legend supposed, no matter how often you came back.
"Looks like the Lost Woods," Time observed. "Do we know whose era we're in?"
"Mine," Legend said with a glance at the pedestal in the middle of the clearing, "The Sword looks just like I left it."
Sky sighed sadly. "This place is so... different," he said, then turned to Legend and asked, "Are you going to take it?"
Legend shook his head. "Better to leave it here for now, I think." In truth, he didn't want to hold the blade ever again. Too many memories involved his hand clenched tight around the azure hilt of the Master Sword until his knuckles turned white. Without another word on the matter, he started walking. "We should probably get going before that scaly bastard can put anymore distance between himself and us. Follow me and stick close--Hyrule, no wandering off."
And so began the journey through the woos. As the group of heroes left the Sword behind them, however, it became increasingly apparent that something was wrong with the Lost Woods. The further they went from the clearing, the more obvious the signs were. The plants were wilting and turning a sickly purple grey color, the crows got to be fewer and fewer. Wild was caught trying to grab mushrooms that even Legend hadn't seen before three times. Even the poes seemed to notice that something was amiss and were avoiding the rest of the forest as much as they could.
Hyrule was the first to say anything. "Something's not right. There's magic here, but it's... wrong. Like Dark Link's," he announced, reaching up to touch a grayed leaf and recoiling with a yelp when it crumbled to dust in his hand. It almost looked like it had burned the Traveler.
"Then all we can do is stay on our toes and trust Legend to get us out of here," Twilight replied, and Legend noted the way that his pelt almost looked like the fur on the back of an animal's neck, bristling and on high alert. He nodded.
"New rule--don't touch anything. Wild, for Din's sake, put the mushrooms down!"
Wild gave him a kicked puppy look over his armload of slimy, red-capped fungi. "They look like they might be good for cooking!" he protested.
Legend pinched the bridge of his nose. "They also might be poisonous, you--" the Veteran stopped mid-sentence, and not of his own volition. He felt his arms drop to his sides, his face go slack. What the hell...? What in the actual goddess-damned fuck?! He wanted to shout, to rip whatever was doing this to him a new asshole, but he couldn't.
This was... something else. Something other.
"...Legend? You okay?" Wild asked. "It's fine dude, I'll put them down." Gingerly, he set the mushrooms on the ground, then put his hands up when Legend--or rather, the thing that was controlling Legend--didn't look away or change its expression or do anything. Get the fuck out of me! I swear to Hylia, I'll kick your ass! Legend swore at whatever it was, trying to force even just a little twitch of his finger.
Four looked at him warily. "Is he... do you guys think he can even hear us? Legend?" he asked, tentatively walking over to him. Yes! Yes, I can, and I have no goddess-damned clue what the hell's going on! Hyrule's arm shot out to stop Four. His eyes were wide, never leaving Legend.
"Don't," he said, voice cracking a little. "Something... something's really wrong."
Whatever had taken Legend's body finally decided to speak. Its voice was raspy and quiet and most certainly not his own. It sounded almost like fallen leaves scraping against the bare earth in the fall. "Trespassers... leave..."
Then Legend felt himself be thrown forward in a leap towards Hyrule, sword out and ready to attack. Move! He screamed, but again, his mouth didn't so much as twitch. Four grabbed the other hero and pulled him down just barely in time to avoid getting sliced in half, but the sound of steel cutting through flesh was as clear as Hyrule's scream as the blade struck him. The Traveler had a massive gash in his side. legend's arm moved up to deal a death blow, and he was begging now, Please, don't do this! Don't kill him, don't kill any of them, they're all I have--
Clang!
Legend would have cheered at the sound of his sword striking Wild's shield if he could. Wild pushed outwards with a shout, sending Legend stumbling back. Warriors and Time were on him before whatever had him could even think about getting up, though the thing was apparently much stronger than he was and was struggling violently in an attempt to throw both of them off. "What the hell are you doing?!" Warriors bellowed. The fury in his eyes almost physically burned, and Legend didn't really blame him. He'd probably react much the same.
"He's not himself," Time said. His voice was strained, and Legend could see that behind his neutral expression was a barrage of emotions. He couldn't imagine any of them were particularly pleasant. "Someone grab his sword!"
Twilight was just barely able to pry the weapon from his grip, which seemed to just further aggravate the thing inside him. Time and Warriors both ended up being thrown off. "Damn, that was... has he always been this strong?" Warriors muttered, getting up swiftly and moving to aid Sky in trying to grab Legend again.
It's probably whatever's causing him to act like this," Sky guessed. He blocked a punch aimed directly at his head and Legend silent-howled in pain as his fist connected with solid metal, but his body landed a blow to the Skyloftian's gut and a kick to Twilight's left knee.
He was sent downwards when Wind charged him and grabbed ahold of the back of his legs, then swore internally as his newly-retrieved sword tore through the Sailor's calf. "Fuck! I don't want to hurt him, but this asshole's sure not taking it easy on us!" the kid exclaimed.
Twilight was back on his feet quickly, though Legend noticed that he was favoring his injured knee just a little. He hoped to whoever would listen that this thing didn't see it too. Sky was a little slower to recover, but he got back up before Legend shook Wind off of him.
"Hey!"
Legend's head snapped in the direction of the shout to see Warriors. The Captain looked jarringly unsure and a little surprised, as if he hadn't meant to yell. He shook his head and the surprise disappeared, though he was clearly still uncertain. Legend was barreling into him before he could start speaking, and he hardly had time to get his shield up. "Snap our of it, Legend! This isn't--I know you're still in there!"
The thing controlling Legend kicked at Warriors' ankles, sending him toppling down. Warriors went at Legend's own ankles, hard. Fucking ow, asshole. Legend didn't even have time to think before he was on his stomach, Warriors holding his left wrist firmly against the ground and rendering the sword he held useless. The Captain's knee was in his back, and his full weight was holding Legend down. The whatever-it-was struggled, thrashing to get free, but the others were quick to secure his other limbs.
There was a beat of silence, save for ragged breathing and the sounds of a frantic attempt to get free, before Warriors spoke. His weight shifted a bit. "Sorry, Legend. We'll figure this out, I promise."
Then there was a pain in the back of Legend's neck, and he was released into unfeeling darkness.
~~~
When Legend awoke, the first thing he noticed was the rope tying his hands together. The second was the very familiar bed, and the third...
"Oh, Mister Hero! You're awake!"
Legend groaned and gave Ravio the evil eye when he helped him sit up, but was relieved to find that he could move his body on his own now. "What the hell am I doing here, and where are the others."
Ravio gasped, placing a hand on his chest. "Oh, you wound me! And here I was, worried you wouldn't wake up yourself!"
"Ravio..."
"Fine, fine--but you did give me quite the scare, you know! Being carried in, unconscious and apparently possessed and all--"
"Ravio!"
The merchant put his hands on his hips. "Hold your horses, Mister Hero, I'm gettin' to it! Your family--" Ah. Yeah. He had called them that, hadn't he? "--didn't have time to say much at first. Mister Cape pulled out his sword--somehow, he had the actual Master Sword, what's up with that?!--and did this thing with it Something about purifying a corrupted forest spirit and getting it out of you? I dunno, that kinda went over my head if I'm being honest,... Anyways, the sword burned up his hands pretty bad, so I pointed him and a bunch of the others towards Kakariko so they could find a healer or something. Mister Scarf, Mister Armor, and Freckles headed to the castle to try and get an audience with Zelda for help, in case the whole sword thing didn't work."
Legend frowned, taking a moment to digest all that. So Sky had tried to use the Master Sword to exorcise him? And apparently it had worked? But he'd hurt himself. Now Fable might get involved, and not only would he get the ass-chewing of the century, but she'd be wasting her time she could be spending not worrying about a brother that was okay, really. Legend sighed. "I guess we're gonna have to wait until they get back, then," he said. "Think you can untie me? I'm guessing these were put here in case I woke up and was... not myself." Come to think of it, how had he stayed out that long? Had Hyrule used sleeping potions? That had to be it, there was no ay he would have been out for the entire trek from the Lost Woods to his house otherwise.
A mischievous light glinted in Ravio's eyes. "Hm... I'm not sure, how do I know you're not just that evil, corrupted spirit impersonating Link? Think you can prove you're not?"
"Fucker-- you know damn well I'm not!"
"Mmm, I dunno~"
Legend seethed. "Fine, when you started your 'rental shop' or whatever, the thing that pissed me off the most was that you moved my goddess-damned bed. That good?"
Ravio clapped his hands together, and Sheerow chirped from somewhere across the room. "It really is you, Mister Hero!" he exclaimed cheerfully, going to work at the knot holding Legend's hands together.
He would still be working at it when Time, Warriors, and Hyrule returned with Fable to the sound of Legend screaming at him to just cut the damn thing.
