hi hello i had another acelu supernatural AU thought while I was working... I know Original Anon said it wouldn't get into the angels/demons storyline, BUT
what if there was still the doomed-brother plotline? Like, if it's Luffy who's like Sam, destined to be the vessel of a Lucifer-figure... maybe Nika (who I haven't gotten to in my OP read, so I'm just going on vibes) has chosen Luffy as its host. And it's mostly a creature of chaos/not purely evil, but it's so powerful that the longer it inhabits Luffy, the more likely it is that he'll be lost/"taken over"
meanwhile Ace is still the son of Roger, famed demon hunter and has taken on all his skills and tricks... but it's the way Ace is different from Roger—that he still sees Luffy as his brother, someone he knows and loves and has learned to trust—that allows him to save him

STRAWHATS FAMILY AU
The Lore Drop:
Alright,in this alternative universe the whole gang is a family. Robin and Franky are married and they are the parents. Brook is Franky’s adoptive father. Jinbei is Robin’s biological father. Brook is African (Nigerian (Bantoid))American and he was never married. Franky is caucasian, his roots comes from Turkiye. Jinbei is Indian, he married Olvia, she is Brazilian. So Robin is half Indian half Brazilian.
Only Luffy and Chopper are Frobin’s biological children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Robin and Franky got married, they had realised that they are rich enough to set on a quest to help the children of need so they went to see the world. HEAR ME OUT it makes sense because um Jinbei is a very respected doctor and Brook is a renowned musician; Franky own a ship/boat/cruise fix company and Robin is a doctor in the archeology field 😁 they are rich rich
First, Luffy was born. And their first destination was Japan. That is where they adopted Zoro. He was in Juvenile. They sorted out things and adopted this child to save him. Cause he was innocent. Luffy was 6 and Zoro was 10 when this happened. (I know the punishment age range is after 14 in Japan but the crime they were accusing him of was so severe or something that they had to, like you should know I’m just making shit up leave me alone)
After a few months they go to Finland. That is where they adopt Nami. A Swedish girl who was in the hands of a gun mafia that killed her sister and mother. She was 9. So they fight fight and get her.
The new year comes, and they decide to go to Mozambique. That is where they meet Usopp! When Franky and Zoro was walking through streets with full of shops and all, they run into Usopp (same age as Luffy) who was selling things he built. Usopp’s father Yasopp left their home when he was born, and her mother dies of sickness. The social workers does not give shşt about the poor. Franky sees this spark in him. He and Zoro buys things from him. And at the end of the day Franky asks if he wants a family they can be one to him. Usopp refuses because of his sick friend Kaya. Saying that he cannot leave her. Later in the week, yk the drill they show everyone that Kuro is bad person blah blah, they both save Kaya and Usopp. Usopp accepts to be part of their family.
They make BIG AHH turn and go to France. They drop at some seaside town. Such a nice touristic place. But so many shop owners with rent complaints. The mayor of this town goes againts its country’s law and increases the rents per SECOND. They dig down this mystery by accident and find out that the mayor is a evil motherfrucker scientist. He also has a son , Sanji (10 yo), whose very much so sweet. They want to fight the scientist but the country is actually supporting him. Since his products and the stuff he does supports the economy or something. So they technically kidnap Sanji. But Sanji needs it. With Franky’s relations they get him a fake id and all that. But they promise that ona day they will have enough power to defeat him. Sanji is happy.
The next destination is Canada. That is exactly where Franky and Robin decides to make another child 😁
After that they go to Egypt. They come across an organisation that Robin did her internship, the one that ran by Sir Crocodile. They find a lost child named Vivi. Vivi is an 8 year old who is getting used by Crocodile. They save her, save the country, yay! Allthough Vivi was a part of their family for a quite time after they learned that Vivi was a princess, they help her to meet her father. The Strawhats leave Egypt and promise eachother that they will meet again.
After 9 months Chopper is born. And the family is complete for now. But they are still in a quest to help children. Or to collect them lol. After a while the grandpas also join their quest. And yeah thats it. I would binge read it if someone makes a fanfic about it.

How would the Strawhat Pirates react to Blue Diamond reader and her powers?
-Luffy was the one who initially found you, in a quiet cave, weeping quietly, as it was a place where you could be alone and not affect others with your erratic emotions.
-When he inquired why you were crying, you were surprised, turning to see him there, peering up at you (you will be 12 feet tall in this), not effected at all by your ability.
-You couldn’t help but smile softly, leaning down, “What a kind person you are- I am mourning my little sister, she was taken from me years ago.”
-Luffy sympathized with you, telling you about his brother, Sabo, that he lost years ago, hopping up to sit on your knee, not caring about your space at all- but you weren’t bothered, he was refreshing.
-When he asked you to join his crew, you couldn’t help but smile, he reminded you so much of your sister, so full of life, always smiling so brightly, you didn’t hesitate to accept.
-Luffy’s crew was as unique as he was, as you sat down on the deck, so you wouldn’t tower over the others, smiling softly at everyone.
-Brook was instantly enamored with you, as you were so tall, and Sanji had hearts for eyes as they both praised your beauty, which did flatter you, and you were concerned after Nami disciplined them both- after they asked to see your panties.
-Nami was a lot like your other sister, a bit, serious and intimidating when she wanted to be, but also very caring, and she was happy to meet such a rare species, as Gems were regarded as one of the rarest species, as many had been hunted to extinction, for their gems.
-Robin was very intrigued with you, wanting to ask you all sorts of questions about the history and culture of Gems, which you were happy to talk to her about- it made you feel nostalgic about talking about your home, your sisters, and your friends.
-Franky and Usopp were elated to learn about the technology of your species, now lost to all, as it had been destroyed by you when your sister died, after an attack by an unknown force that wiped out and shattered so many.
-You were happy to see their own inventions, you were like a mother, wanted to see what your kids had made, praising them, which was amusing to see them rubbing the back of their heads with goofy, happy grins on their faces.
-Zoro was a bit unsure of you- he could tell that you were very strong, but you looked unassuming, and you told them that you preferred not to fight unless if you had to, but he could easily tell that you weren’t to be underestimated.
-Zoro did enjoy that you were knowledgeable about swords, inspecting his own blades, commenting on the craftsmanship and quality of them.
-Jinbei was very soft and gentle with you, sitting beside you as you both watched the sea, enjoying quiet conversations with each other, talking about your pasts.
-You adored Chopper, he was so adorable to you, and you couldn’t help but cuddle him to your cheek softly, praising him on anything he does- which at first he called you an asshole for, but was blushing and giddy- showing you that he was happy. He was so cute when he wasn’t being honest.
-Sanji, after your comical first meeting, was very kind and respectful to you, asking you all sorts of questions and you would let him relax around you.
-You loved Brook’s music, it was very soothing, and he enjoyed having someone like you to talk to, as you were both way older than you looked, and you enjoyed hearing about his past, even when he told you about his crew that he lost.
-Despite being against fighting, you had no issues defending, creating water spheres around the ship, to protect it against enemies, allowing your crew to fight without getting hurt, unless they exited your water sphere.
-Your crew respected your decision not to fight, unless you had to, as it was your choice, and you did help out where you could.
-They also had to get used to your abilities, when you would randomly start crying, and your sorrow would spread across the ship.
-You were stunned to not see any of them crying, other than a tear here and there, which made you fall to your knees, as that meant only one thing- that they had suffered great sorrow in their lives as well, something enough to match your own sorrow of losing your sister.
-This, unfortunately, made things worse as you wrapped your babies up in a hug, crying even harder as you lamented their suffering.
-They couldn’t help but smile, trying to comfort their motherly figure. You were such a caring person, one that they wanted to protect.

this might be strange but what about fishman!sanji? as in, Sanji is raised on Fishman Island? he escaped Germa but nearly drowns if it wasnt for a fishman who rescued the strange human and he was brought down to be nursed back to health. If Jinbei's still there then maybe he argues to look after the kid as proof of improving human-fishman relations and Sanji is very happy to be there because!! he's actually in the sea!!! he always loved the ocean and fish and swimming and surely the fishmen can help him find All Blue (they dont know how but are endeared enough to let him expllore their archives for clues)
sanji ends up being a huge difference in terms of fishman attitudes towards humans because its so hard for anyone to hate this excitable kid who genuinely thinks fishmen and mermaids are cooler than humans and is obsessed with figuring out how to cook underwater. sanji is a little hesitant with the royals due to general trauma but ends up getting close to them! closest to jinbei tho, shark dad for the win!!
i picture sanji either meeting the crew at the baratie, maybe on one of his excursions to find clues on the all blue, or maybe at sabaody, because he snuck away from the island to try to save camie and any other enslaved mermaids. or maybe something else? rest is up to your brilliant mind <3
Sanji weak and fresh out of the dungeon in the ocean drowning and is found by a fishman. The fishman knows something is terribly wrong so he takes Sanji to Fishman Island and presents Sanji to Jinbei who as a former slave would be able to help the boy more. Jinbie spends a lot of time with Sanji, studying the boy and helping him. Trying to gauge how deep the trauma runs and it's deep. Sanji is skittish, not just from fishman but mer people and others too. Even his time on land has him hiding behind Jinbei.
He tells Jinbie about his dream and Jinbei offers to introduce him to the royals and help get him access to the archives. Sanji is shaking and doing his best and when the king asks about his fear Jinbei says it's not through prejudice but trauma. Trauma from royals specifically. The king nods and grants Sanji access so Jinbei takes him and Sanji flits around the room looking, he starts getting excited after a while. He's flitting around and talking animatedly about the All Blue. Jinbei smiles very fondly at the boy in front of him.
Jinbei helps him for weeks but they find nothing so they talk to travelers and nomads and migratory fishman and merpeople. They never find out but Jinbei teaches him cooking. How they cook underwater and what they eat and the diet he as a fishman follows.
Also in line with everyone but Mihawk, Jinbei absolutely takes Sanji to Warlord meetings and gets him into some of the archives and libraries. He talks to other humans about the All Blue. Sanji is an actual delight to have at Warlord meetings. Sometimes he'll bring snacks or Fujitora will take him to the kitchen to cook something and eat and tell the boy stories. Sanji still asks everyone about the All Blue.
Sanji grows up like a fucking immaculate swimmer. He can hold his breath for ages and dive so fucking deep. He calls Jinbei dad around eleven and just keeps it going. Jinbei smiles every time his son calls him that.
When Sanji is old enough he sets out to go search for the All Blue and gets a job at Baratie to find information from other travelers. Which is how he gets into the Strawhats crew. Everything is canon until Sabaodyish when they meet Chamie who is talking to Sanji like they're old friends and Sanji mentions off handedly he grew up on Fishman Island.
And when they get there after the time skip and the royals are welcoming Sanji back and everyone is confused again. Jinbei comes by to join the Strawhat crew and he and Sanji are hugging and calling him 'dad' and Luffy is like "oh, that's why all the warlords seemed to know you. How come crocodile didn't recognize you in Alabasta?"
"Probably because I never really talked to them, sometimes I would bring snacks but mostly I was looking for clues to the All Blue." Sanji shrugs.
And then obviously Jinbei promises to meet up with them soon and of course the next time we see him is in WCI and Jinbei listens to his son about not killing his birth family. Once they're in the clear Sanji and Jinbei are sitting together and Jinbei says if they step even a millimeter out of line they are dead. Sanji nods and says they have more important things to worry about. Jinbei nods and agrees and pats his son's head.

This one is completely self-indulgent for me to make myself feel better. Recovering from surgery is hard, and it’s okay to cry about it and let yourself feel shitty! And then pour all your feelings into a comfort fic with your fave and toss it into the void! I promise it’s softer than the content warnings make it seem. I've been staring at this all weekend and I'm ready to let it go. :)

Scars ~ Zoro x GN!Reader
CW: Body dysphoria, discussion of medical issues, surgery, illness, scarring. Reader is GN but one gendered term is used at the end (girl). WC: 1,859
Music played softly in the room you and Zoro shared on the Sunny, the phonograph giving it a fuzzy quality. It was a subtle backdrop to your sniffles as you cried quietly on the bed, a stuffed animal clutched tightly to your chest, tears dripping steadily onto its plush head. Other items littered the modest room, gifts from your friends and crew mates to distract or help you through the recovery process. The phonograph was from Brook, the plush from Nami - Robin had, of course, given you plenty of books to read in bed. Sanji kept you well-supplied with soft foods, easy to swallow, whenever you had enough appetite to eat them. Usopp and Franky had even teamed up to build an attachment for your bed that adjusted the angle of the mattress so you could easily sit up. All of these physical signs of their love helped make the bedroom feel less like a prison and more like a safe nest during the weeks since your surgery.
Although staying cooped up anywhere for so long would doubtless be a drain on your mental health. There wasn’t a porthole in the room so you weren’t even sure what time of day it was. Since you could hear muffled shouts through the thick wood of the deck above, you assumed it was daytime - Luffy was probably up to something, maybe pulling Usopp and Chopper into his antics. You thought it had been long enough since your last attempt at a meal that Sanji would be sending something down - hopefully with Zoro, you weren’t feeling strong enough to face anyone else right now.
Sure enough, the bedroom door soon swung open, revealing a shirtless green-haired man balancing a tray of food on one hand. You dragged your gaze up to meet his. The feelings that skipped through your heart were relief… and a little bit of guilt and shame. That he had to see you this way. That you couldn’t get it together and relieve some of the burdens in your relationship he had taken on while you were recovering from the surgery.
Not that he would ever voice any complaints about your situation. Zoro gave you everything you asked for and more with a tender stoicism that you tried to ground yourself with. He was there when you woke up coughing in the middle of the night, bringing you ice chips. He massaged your calf muscles, sore after spending weeks in bed. He even tried to keep the rest of the Strawhats from pestering you too much - although you knew they were just worried about you (you think he even growled at Brook once when the musician wouldn’t leave you alone).
Now, Zoro took in your dull stare and disheveled state, slipping into the room and gently closing the door behind him. Frowning, he crossed the small space quickly and set the tray onto your crowded bedside table. Your lover crouched in front of you, taking hold of your hands, pulling them towards him. This loosened your grip on the stuffed toy and it fell to the side, bouncing onto the floor, revealing your chest and neck.
“What’s wrong? Does it hurt anywhere?” Zoro asked you briskly but not unkindly. His eye danced across your body, checking for any bleeding or other abnormalities. Chopper had told him a few things to look out for in these next few weeks, but he didn’t see any signs of them. Finding none he relaxed slightly and met your gaze as you shook your head the tiniest amount.
Slowly you raised your head to stare at the wall behind him, straightening your bruised and scarred neck, baring it to the swordsman. It looked different than the last time he had checked on you, more pink and somewhat cleaner.
You cleared your throat, cheeks red with embarrassment, and in a small voice told him, “The glue was starting to peel a lot, so I started picking at a corner, and then… I couldn’t help myself once it started, and I peeled the whole thing off. Chopper said it would start to flake off around now anyways…” You couldn’t make yourself look at his expression. Closed your eyes as you spoke. “It didn’t hurt, but when I looked in the mirror afterwards, I- I had gotten so used to seeing it the way it was. And now it looks so different, and-” Fresh tears rolled down your cheeks, thick and fast. You felt ridiculous. Zoro’s grip on you tightened, his thumbs starting to rub soothing circles on the back of your hands.
You took a deep breath, unable to stop crying but trying to steady yourself. “It’s so much more raised than I was expecting it to be, so much more… obvious,” you whispered. “My skin feels weird and it’s just freaking me out, and once I started crying, I just… I just-”
“Shhh,” Zoro hushed you gently, rising from the floor and gathering you into his arms as your tears turned into sobs once again. He didn’t say anything beyond making comforting noises and hums, letting you feel them rumble through his chest. His arms were strong around you, his body emitting a steady warmth that seeped into your cold limbs, warming you to your core. He let you cry yourself out, releasing all of your panic, sorrow, frustration from the past few weeks. Frustration with how slow the recovery process was. With how it felt like every time you took a couple steps forward, you took even more back again. At how you sometimes felt like a stranger in your own body. Zoro held you as you hiccuped your way through all of your emotions, providing a solid sense of stability for you to anchor yourself. One arm always remained firmly around you but the other slowly trailed caresses down your back, sending distracting and calming sensations through your body.
Finally your tears subsided and you lifted your head from his chest, heavy and exhausted. “Hey,” he whispered as his brown eye met your puffy ones.
“Hi, you mumbled back, indulging in a long blink when he leaned in to press a loving kiss to your forehead. “I’m sorry I’m being such a baby about this-”
Zoro sternly says your name, exasperated. “You just had major surgery not even one month ago. Your body is healing, but your mind has to heal too. You need to give it the time it needs.”
“You’re one to talk,” you mutter. “How many times has Chopper said the exact same thing to you? And how many times have you listened?”
Zoro grinned at you, the expression lifting your mood more than anything else. “Don’t act like we’re the same,” he teased. “Besides, I give my body exactly enough time to heal before I start training again.”
“Bullshit!” you squawk indignantly, slapping a hand weakly against his chest. He chuckled at your protest but didn’t argue back. With your hand on his bare skin, you let him distract you from your malaise a little more. “…Where’s your shirt?”
He grunted, nodding his head to the side table. You saw a rumpled shirt you hadn’t noticed before next to the tray of food he had brought in. “Luffy was pigging out, as usual, and spilled a whole plate on me. I was going to work out after I checked on you anyways, figured I didn’t need it.”
You deflated at the thought of being left alone again so soon. The soothing tones from the phonograph wended their way to your ears, filtering through now that you had calmed down somewhat. You looked up at the swordsman, hesitant but hopeful. “Zoro… Would you dance with me? Please?”
And how could he resist when you asked so sweetly? Wetness still clung to your lashes and, despite the redness, your eyes sparkled when you looked at him. He couldn’t believe you thought yourself weak when, when Zoro looked at you, he saw the strongest person he’d ever met. The path from illness to diagnosis to treatment to, finally, recovery, had been such a whirlwind. And yet you’d still found moments to smile and laugh, to comfort him when his own paranoia got the best of him, when he struggled with being unable to protect you from your disease. When he felt that he wasn’t strong enough.
Unable to deny you anything, Zoro slowly stood from the bed, pulling you with him, never letting you leave the circle of his arms. The music drifted from one song to another, perfect for swaying together. Nimble on his feet during a fight, Zoro was all lefts when it came to dancing anything more complicated than a shuffle. You didn’t mind in this moment, too pleasantly surprised that he agreed without protest and tired from crying to move much yourself.
Your arms wrapped around his waist and you laid your head back against his chest, fitting in neatly right under his chin. You could hear his heart beating steadily, a metronome in your ear, and tried to match yours to it. He rested his head on top of yours and lazily started to sway with you. His grip was firm and protective, holding you close. The bedside lamp glowed with a cozy yellow light that made everything fuzzy - perfectly matched to the phonograph’s crackle. The world seemed to be slowing down to give you a chance to breathe.
His golden earrings chimed softly as he spoke, keeping his chin planted on the crown of your head. “Thought you’d trust my word when it comes to stuff like this. I’ve got plenty of experience with scars.” His tone was teasing, but it did give you pause.
With your face directly on his pectoral it was hard not to look at the giant scar that roped across his body. You brought your hand around to trace curious fingertips along it. Zoro wasn’t exactly one for any type of special skincare, so his scars all went untreated once the bandages were removed. No skin strips to lower them, no creams to make them more subtle or blend with his skin. And he had so many of them - his chest, of course, and his eye, but also scattered across his arms and legs. Each one was a story that he had survived. That he had succeeded in protecting what was important to him, and come out stronger for it.
Zoro continued to rock you as your fingers roamed. He could feel when you finally gathered your tumbling thoughts, your body tensing and relaxing as you let out a long breath of air.
“Well, at least it’s not on my back,” you finally stated, voice wobbling, halfway between joking and serious.
The swordsman raised an eyebrow at that before a laugh burst out of him, startling you from his chest. He cupped your cheek with one large hand, leaning down to brush his lips against yours. It’s like his smile transferred from him to you because you were wearing a slight grin when he pulled away. Zoro knocked his forehead against yours, still smiling proudly as he murmured, “That’s my girl.”

As an expanding of previous post about how fucking confusing Luffy is, if only because of the languages he speaks, which are fucking random for a seventeen-year-old pirate from a lost corner of the East Blue :
On the Strawhat crew, you don't ask questions about the others' pasts, that's the most important unsaid rule. You can ask about the crew though, so Robin, between the events of Thriller Bark and Sabaody, decides to get to know the others better, as well as the mechanics of the crew, especially those of the Romance Down trio and East Blue group.
Her investigation begins backwards, from Sanji, to Usopp, to Nami, to Zoro, to Luffy.
From Sanji, she gets the story of how their captain destroyed part of the Baratie, worked there for a single day, encouraged a fight between Hawkeye and Zoro, as he himself fought against one of the big shots in the East Blue, some armoured guy with an enormous fleet who couldn't survive Paradise.
Usopp tells an unusually under-romanced story about this ex-pirate turned butler who was planning on killing his lover Kaya for her money, and how Luffy and Zoro saved them all from the tall butler with poops drawn onto his tailcoat.
Nami tells her about meeting Luffy and Zoro in Orange Town, planning on robbing them dry for a map to the Grand Line, escaping Buggy the Clown, fleeing by herself to go back to Arlong and hopefully buy back her village, Luffy freeing her (she got to wear his hat, Robin notes with attention).
Zoro grunts about a planned execution in a Marine base, something about killing wolves and eating sugared rice balls, and, the most surprising of all, how Luffy, accompanied by the small pink-haired Marine they saw on Water Seven, seemed to know about him beforehand and deliberately wanting to recruit him (he's the only one of them Luffy got out of his way to specifically recruit before even meeting them).
Luffy's story makes less sense. Robin can't get him to tell where exactly he'd been sailing from, and tales of getting sucked into a whirlpool and meeting a big pirate lady are overlapped with descriptions of foods he got to eat and bugs he got to see on his way from wherever his native island is to the Marine base he found Zoro in. With how thick his accent is, she hoped to pin down his island, but the only other time she's heard it was in Vice-Admiral Garp's mouth, and she also doesn't know where he's from further than the East Blue.
Before she can get any more specific, toeing the line of prying, they get to Sabaody and Robin can't ask anymore questions.
What she gets to see and hear on the archipelago doesn't help : with this place being a gathering point for travelers and merchants from all seas, every languages known to her and some she doesn't know are spoken. Her Eastern crewmates struggle a bit, only knowing their native tongue and the most basic version of Grand (even if Zoro's accent hints to him speaking something else entirely, and by having been born in the North Blue Sanji understands one specific Northern dialect, even though he managed to erase all traces of it from his accent), but Luffy gets the strange Grand variation that points to a pirate having lived in the New World, and the vague noble they cross paths with, he can decipher their stuck-up tongue and posh accent, which surprises her a lot.
The New World Grand she can pin down to Luffy having spent, from her understanding, quite a bit of his formative years alongside a New World crew, Shanks' one.
The noble tongue, she can't link to anything. There's nothing that associates Luffy and the nobility, especially with who his father is. She tried asking the others about Ace, who could have given some type of hint, but all the feedback she gets on him is about how polite he was towards them, how affectionate towards Luffy, and how strong towards the Marines.
When Luffy punches the Celestial Dragon at the auction house, she can see that even if the fact that he wanted to buy their friend Camie infuriated him, that punch seemed a bit too personal, only adding to the mystery : why does Luffy speak a noble tongue if the Celestial Dragons are the only people Robin's seen him hate on principle ?

Trafalgar Law x Pregnant!Reader: Christmas Time (One Shot)
Warning: body image issues, fear of cheating, miscarriage, and being left behind.
Background: You and Law have been married for a while. Now your life is going to be bigger with the arrival of a child soon. You are 7 months pregnant and it is Christmas day. Law is spending time with you but as you get the news the straw hats are coming to visit your worries about your life with Law start to catch up.
Y/n was decorating the tree while Law was helping with the cooking. Her belly was big and heavy with a child. “Y/n you should sit down I think you decorated the tree enough,” Bepo said. “Lunch is ready” Law shouted. Since you became pregnant Law and the crew have been keeping a close eye wanting the baby to be safe. Everyone sits down for lunch while Law helps you into a seat next to him.
“I help the chef make safe recipes for the baby,” Law said rubbing your stomach. The crew is eating the tasty food especially you are enjoying it due to the baby making you hungry for more. “Purururu, purururu, purururu click” “Hello” Law answers the den-den mushi. “Oh Traffy, we are near to meet for Christmas party” Luffy shouted on the phone. “Ok, you don't have to scream in my ear Strawhat-ya”. Law said back annoyed.
Strawhat’s ship arrived at your home base you moved into after becoming pregnant. Nami and Robin hug you congratulating you on the baby. Everyone was having fun and talking during the Christmas party. You looked for Law but he talking to Robin. You don't know why but you always get worried about seeing them together due to people thinking they are dating because Law wanted to keep your relationship secret only to your close allies due to fear someone could use you against him.
It didn't help that Robin was a big-breasted skinny long-haired goddess of a woman. While you were walking around with a large stomach and chubby thighs looking all gross due to the baby keeping you up and tired. It made you feel lesser during the pregnancy. It didn't help that as you were researching in your early stage you found that pregnant women suffer from being cheated on by their partners this didn't make you feel any better that Law was close to Robin who is not carrying a baby in her like you are. You need to get rid of these thought since it making you feel depressed and that is not good for the baby.
You don't want those thoughts bothering you and making you stressed. When you got pregnant you were afraid Law would be angry but he was happy you were having his child. You did everything it make sure your baby is healthy. But you had fears that grew as you got further in the pregnancy like what if you miscarry as it is common and unpredictable would Law hate you and leave you if it happened? What if, after the baby is born he gets tired of you and leaves for Robin?
These thoughts started to take over no matter how hard you try to ignore them and you start to feel sick thinking about it. You walked to the bathroom to puke out your lunch and looked in the mirror at yourself feeling grossed out at your body changing. Law was talking to Robin about his fear of becoming a parent when he saw you going to the bathroom and excused himself to check on you. “Y/n-ya, are you ok?” Law asked behind the door. “I'm fine, just some nausea” you respond.
“May I come in?” Law asks, you open the door to let him in. “Sorry, I felt sick and needed to get away from everyone”. You said in a sad tone. “What's wrong?” Law asked worried. You decide to tell him about everything your jealousy of Robin, your worry about how your body has changed, your fear of losing your baby, and him leaving you behind. “I'm sorry Law, I don't know if I will be a good mom with everything bothering me,” you said feeling more doubt.
Law walks over to you and hugs you. “I will never cheat on you and Robin is only a friend like the rest of the strawhats are” Law tries to make you feel better. “When you told me you were pregnant at first I didn't want the baby but then thinking about raising a child with you that we made from our love made me reconsider.” “No matter what happens I will always love you and be there for you”. He added. “Stop saying all that bad stuff about your body you look amazing to me since day 1.” “when I saw your stomach growing and you caring for our unborn child makes you more beautiful” he finished. You cried in his arms feeling relieved from his words and thank him.
You two hold each other for a while before going back to the party. Everyone came over to see if you were okay and if you needed anything for the baby. “Well I'm a bit hungry,” you said feeling the baby wanted food. Sanji gives you a delicious bowl of food and the rest of the crew go back to enjoying their Christmas. A few hours later, the party ends and strawhats leave.
Everyone else was getting ready for bed. You put on your pajamas and get into bed with Law joining you. He started to rub your belly again and kiss you as the two of you lay in bed together. “Merry Christmas, y/n - ya,” Law said after the kiss. “Merry Christmas, my beloved,” you said back as sleep take you while in Law’s embrace this Christmas night.

Hi! Can I ask Ace with a boyfriend who can speak French please ?
(If you need to translate some words in French you can send me a message)
Feel free to ignore and have a good day/night :D
Characters: Portgas D. Ace x male! reader
A/N: hi there! Thanks so much for your request!! I don’t speak French, but I also didn’t want to spoil any part of your request for you. Luckily, I have a few French friends who helped me out with some of the translations! I hope you like it :) (For those of you who are non-french speakers, I have the translations at the bottom of the post!)
The Language of Love
You’re out of the deck with your boyfriend one day when you get a splinter in your hand and mutter a string of curses under your breath.
Ace’s head whips to face you. “What did you just say?”
“Putain,”* you repeat. “It’s French.”
“When did you learn French?”
“I am French”
“WHAT?!?!”
“ACE. I HAVE AN ACCENT AND EVERYTHING!”
“I thought that was just-” He pauses a second, unsure of how to end that sentence. “So what does it mean?”
Cue ENDLESSSSSS pestering. “How do you say that in French?” Becomes his new favorite phrase.
Curses are the first thing he learns, naturally. He uses them EXCESSIVELY. When other crew members ask what he’s saying, Ace just smirks. “Don’t you know? It’s French.” He adds a little flare to the last word for dramatic effect.
“You only know that because of your boyfriend!”
Ace is quick to respond with some witty response. “Jealous much? Too bad, he’s mine.” If you’re around during this interaction, he always follows this up with a quick peck on your cheek, as if to mark you as his.
It’s not long before he starts asking about mundane things too. “When is dinner?” “Quand est-ce qu'on mange?”. “The moon is beautiful tonight.” “La lune est belle ce soir”. “How was your day?” “Comment était ta journée?”. “I’m hungry.” “J'ai faim”.
When you all visit Ace’s brother and his crew, you find that the Strawhat's cook is French as well, and you all spend a good chunk of your visit talking in your respective language. It’s kind of refreshing to meet someone who can talk to you in fluent French again.
Luffy hates that he can’t understand a conversation, naturally. “HEY! SPEAK LIKE US! NOBODY UNDERSTANDS YOU GUYS!!!” Sanji laughs at his captain. “Yeah, that’s the point, Luffy.”
Ace can’t help but feel a little jealous in watching you and Sanji laugh and talk together. He can’t help but feel like you all are sharing a secret moment, an inside joke. He wants to be a part of it too, laughing with you two. Instead, he’s sitting on the outskirts, picking out a few words here and there that you’ve taught him so far.
Ace doesn’t know it, but you and Sanji are just talking about your respective loves. You gush over Ace, and Sanji talks about his secret love for the green-haired swordsman that sits nearby, dozing off. It seems you both have similar taste in men, which sends you both into another fit of laughter.
Luffy stomach finally interrupts you all, and Sanji leaves you to go cook for his captain. As you look around, you realize Ace is nowhere to be found.
You ask around, and Robin mentions she pointed your boyfriend in the direction of the library earlier. The library? That didn’t sound like a place Ace would frequent, but you head up that way anyway, hoping to find him.
As you pass by the window to the kitchen, you glance in to find Ace sitting at the counter, talking to Sanji while he cooks. When you walk in, their conversation stops abruptly. Ace starts blushing, as if he’s a child that’s been caught doing something wrong.
“Oh hey, mon amour,”* Ace says, attempting to redirect your attention away from whatever you walked into. He smiles as you approach him, and you felt your heart skip a beat. He always managed to have that effect on you. He interlaces his fingers with yours as you reach him, and he tilts his head towards you, a silent beckon for a kiss. Of course, you give him one without a second thought, already forgetting about the awkward silence you walked into.
“I’ll call you when the foods ready,” Sanji says, turning back to the stove. Whatever conversation they had been having was over now. “But if people start congregating in here, Luffy will join. And he’s troublesome in the kitchen.”
Ace laughs at that thought, and leads you out of the kitchen, hands still intertwined. “Robin told me you were in the library.”You don’t state it in an accusatory way, and you know Ace recognizes that. Still, though you can’t see his face, his ears begin turning a dark shade of pink. It’s his telltale sign that he’s been caught, you’re just not sure of what.
“Yeah. She recommended a book to me. Thought I’d check it out, but it wasn’t really my style.” His voice is cool and even, but he still refusing to face you, and his ears are growing redder by the minute.
You hum in acknowledgement, but don’t press the matter further. The two of you just had a mutual trust with each other, and you knew he’d explain more whenever he was ready to.
After your visit with the Strawhats and back on board Whitebeard’s ship, you notice there’s some moments throughout the day where Ace slips away. It’s not uncommon for you all to go do your own thing sometimes, but he never offers any details about what he’s doing or where’s he’s been. It’s a little strange, but nothing you overly concern yourself about.
One night you’re sitting below the stars in the crows nest. Ace was on night watch duty, and you always preferred to keep him company on nights like this than to sleep alone. Neither of you have said anything in a long while, you’re just enjoying each other and the silence of the night.
“Hey, Y/N.” Ace’s voice was hushed, barely a whisper.
“Hm?” Your back is pressed against him, your head resting against his chest. He’s just warm enough to keep the cold air from pricking your skin, and his arms are wrapped around your midsection to keep any cross-breeze at bay.
“Je t'aime de tout mon cœur”* His voice is soft, but warm. It always reminded you of the first sunny day after visiting a winter island. But when he says such words with such passion and filled with such love, you can’t help but fall even more.
You hadn’t taught him that phrase. You had never even exchanged “I love you’s” before. Your head turned slightly to face him, and you softly caress his face. A smile dances around your lips as you look up at your boyfriend. “Now, when did you learn that, le soleil de ma vie?”*
He smiles shyly and chuckles a bit. “Sanji taught me, and Robin gave me this book to learn important phrases. And well, that felt pretty important…” he trails off, embarrassed with himself.
You laugh at his demeanor switch, running your thumb across his freckles. Ace wasn’t one who liked to ask for help often. That he was willing to ask other people for assistance for this… your heart soars.
You kiss his jawline softly and nuzzle against his chest further. “Je t’aime aussi, mon cher.”* And you really, really do. Even in the language of love, there’s not enough words to describe your love for him.
*Translations for non-french speakers :)
Putain: fuck
Mon amour: my love
Le soleil de ma vie: the sun of my life
Je t'aime de tout mon cœur: I love you with all my heart
je t’aime aussi, mon cher: I love you too, my dear

YOOOO saw t4t sanami, do you have any specific thoughts on trans! nami?
OMG YESYESYES!!!!!! First of all, I adore t4t Sanami. It's the best type of Sanami. And I have so many thoughts about trans!Nami... My beloved.
She realizes she's a girl pretty soon in her life since her mom is her role model and she admires Nojiko a lot. But it's more of a gender envy thing most of the time, she just doesn't understand the concept yet-- The thing is, neither girls nor boys understood her passion for maps, and she barely had any friends apart from her sister, so it's a bit hard for her to actually understand what she wants. But she's sure she's a girl. That's something she has clear.
When she comes out to both Bellemere and Nojiko, they're obviously extremely supportive of her. Nojiko is thrilled to have a sister and Bellemere couldn't be happier that her girl trusts her enough to tell her this (you know, they're still young and Bellemere feels a bit insecure sometimes and wonders if they actually see her as their mom). In general, the village is very supportive. They love these kids, c'mon. Maybe there are some comments here and there from people who are more close-minded than others, but Nojiko always goes full protective sister mode.
They don't have money for new clothes, but Bellemere does her best to style Nojiko's old outfits for Nami!! She asks Nami if she wants to grow her hair, and Nami says it'd be a bit uncomfortable but she'll probably give it a try, if it bothers her then she'll probably cut it (she ends up doing it because it gets, indeed, uncomfortable).
Transitioning socially, even if most of the village is supportive, is a bit hard. Nami doesn't like being scared. Or feeling weak. But her mom always tells her to be herself no matter what other people say, because she's the only one who should choose how to live her life. She is a girl, and she has all the right to fight the ones who say otherwise. Nami wonders if fighting will make her look less feminine, but Bellemere says "Well, I fight, don't I? And you see me as a girl. Girls can and should fight. Even better than most men, honestly". And Nami is no longer scared of being more independent and strong.
I just know Genzo is the sweetest, most protective, and most supportive man ever. He even buys her some new clothes and kind of lets her get away sometimes if she gets into fights because he knows she was doing it to defend herself. He has a new picture of the girls on his desk and he's always keeping an eye on her because he knows she's gonna end up being gorgeous and he can't have guys flirting with her.
It's easy for Nami to look more feminine because of her complexion but she's still insecure over a bunch of stuff while she grows up. Everything is worse when she joins Arlong... Okay, so the Arlong Pirates aren't transphobic but Arlong is this type of "passive-aggressive" ally who won't stop asking Nami to thank him for letting her be herself. He's always highlighting the pronouns and sometimes he even buys her stuff that, okay, she likes it. But she doesn't want those clothes from him. It's a living nightmare. He also gives her the chance to medically transition which-- She wishes she could say no, really, but dysphoria is eating her inside most days and she doubts she'll ever have the money to do this on her own. Nojiko is the one who tells her to go for it even though the help doesn't come from the right people.
Anyway- She grows up. The story continues as it is. And when she meets the Strawhats and they defeat Arlong, it's extremely freeing and liberating for her. She finally feels like she can be herself with people who actually care about her. I think the only ones who know she's trans are Zoro (transmasc/transfem communication), Luffy, and Usopp, because she told them at some point. It's not like she hides it from Sanji but... But, you know... She doesn't know how Sanji will react.
It's not that surprising to find out Sanji is a girl too. What is surprising is the fact that she takes it so well. In terms of concept and support. I mean- She knows what being trans is, and accepts it. Apparently, it's just hard to accept it when it comes to herself. She confesses it one day while she's drunk, saying being a girl would be great because they're just... Amazing and perfect. She describes all the things she likes about them and most of it sounds like gender envy and dysphoria to Nami. Something that Sanji confuses a lot with liking them sexually (also true and something Nami understands because she's a lesbian and it's always hard to tell the difference between attraction and gender envy). But Nami just says "You can just... Be a girl, you know? If you wanted to" and it kind of changes Sanji's world forever.
(Quick mention of Alabasta and how Nami falls for Vivi right away, something that she wasn't expecting because being in love is dangerous for her. But they have chemistry and they deeply care for each other. So before they leave, they have this intimate night together in which Nami is extremely scared. She doesn't want to lose Vivi for something like this. She isn't even sure how Alabasta's culture works and if Vivi will be as accepting as she looks. So Nami, still scared and shaking and almost crying for the first time in a long while, comes out to Vivi. The princess is... So accepting and loving it's overwhelming. I know we talk a lot about how Nami probably flirts with every girl she meets and has more experience than Vivi, but I'd like to see this as Nami's first time. Or at least, Nami's first time feeling so loved while having sex. Also, please assume Namivivi is a thing in this post too. Sanamivivi <3).
Nami starts seeing Sanji in a different light, by the way. Not instantly romantic, but she understands now why she acts like that around women. Sort of. She sees her being uncomfortable in her own skin. Sees her twitching whenever somebody highlights the fact that she's ""a man"". Nami even calls her "pretty" once, instead of the usual adjectives, and Sanji tries to act like she doesn't like it but she does, so much it's obvious it hurts her to realize. The egg is cracking and it's not slow, nor subtle, but Nami can't see it because they get separated in Sabaody.
To summarize, Nami gets an amazing boob job there. That's my wonderful explanation for the enormous change in her body after two years. The doctors up there are really good, okay? She lets her hair grow the way her mom mentioned once, and now that she knows how to fight, she can handle it a lot better! Meanwhile, Sanji is having a whole gender crisis back in Momoiro Island but she ends up figuring out that she's a girl and Ivankov is always our salvation for these things.
They find each other again, and Nami couldn't be more proud of Sanji. I mean- All of them are proud of her. They love her. They love her even more now that she has accepted herself. But for Nami, having somebody in the crew who went through the same things as her and who now feels comfortable with her body makes her incredibly happy. So long story short, Sanji moves to the Girls' quarters. Also, they find out Robin is also trans, something she hadn't mentioned because obviously there's no need to do it, but the girl is a fucking mystery and she hadn't mentioned it until NOW??? And Nami is about to start crying because she finally doesn't feel so alone.
You know, things go by smoothly. Nami likes wearing tops and bikinis to show off her body because she's really proud of it and Sanji keeps wearing her suits but sometimes they also share clothes. Although Sanji has a liking for Robin's outfits better. They grow closer and share experiences and even though Nami opens up about her past, Sanji doesn't. And it's not like she has to do it... But Nami wishes she trusted her more. Anyway- Showering Nami with love wasn't something Sanji only did before, she still does it. And Nami is starting to fall a little bit for her? She hates to admit it, but Sanji is gorgeous. Gorgeous and really, really sweet and not that annoying anymore, now that she has found herself. Nami thinks it could be just sexual, but she knows it isn't only that-- She's scared of falling in love because falling for somebody means being able to lose them. And she would hate it. But she lets herself do it for once.
And then Whole Cake Island happens, and Nami kind of wants to die. It's when she realizes she's in love with Sanji (yay! Losing more people she loves!) and she's extremely angry at her for doing what she's doing. Pushing them away. But Nami can't really be that furious, right? She did the same thing to them, after all... It's so, so painful to see Sanji act like somebody she isn't. Her family made her cut her hair. Wear a binder and everything. Nami isn't sure whether she's crying for the fight or Sanji right now. When Sanji comes back to them, Nami wants to hug her and never let her go,, They start dating pretty much right after WCI, so Wano is painful because they aren't together and Nami realizes, right after the big fight, that Sanji is going through something she doesn't want to talk about. Not that she has to do it, because Nami will be there no matter what.
Little transfem!Nami / T4T Sanami quick headcanons:
As I said, they share clothes but Sanji prefers wearing Robin's style. However, Nami does steal Sanji's shirts all. The. Time. Not that the cook cares, though, she looks gorgeous.
Sanji is a bit self-conscious because Nami has bigger boobs. Not that it matters at all and Nami finds it incredibly stupid, but anyway- Nami is always worshipping Sanji's body when it's needed. Sometimes she thinks Sanji just says it to fish compliments from her.
Nami loves Sanji's short hair and is constantly reminding her that she looks beautiful this way, even if she prefers it long.
Nami actually is pretty insecure about her hands. They don't look as feminine and she would like them too. And she knows it's stupid but,, It still bothers her. Sanji is always kissing them and painting her nails, though!
I like Nami being extremely deranged sometimes and maybe a guy tells her that's not very lady-like and Nami always thinking about Bellemere and how she'd kick ass anyway.

I'm talking about One Piece again, not sorry. I'm never sorry for gushing about the best pirate show EVER!
How Luffy recruited his crew- abridged edition
The simplest but also the funniest way I can describe the way the crew got together.
Koby- The notorious sword fighter Roronoa Zoro is on this island! He hunted pirates, you should leave immediately!
Luffy- Hell nah, I want that guy on my crew! He sounds cool!
Zoro- Go away, I can handle this on my own!
Helmeppo- *Plans to break the deal he made with Zoro.*
Luffy- Hell no! *Saves Zoro.*
Zoro- If I had died I would never be able to be the world greatest swordsman, thanks I guess. I suppose your my captain now.
Luffy- This clown guy is annoying. *Beats up Buggy and helps Nami.*
Luffy- You should join my crew!
Nami- Ok! *Already planning to rob them blind.*
Luffy- *Meets a weird dude with a long nose, a slingshot, and a compulsive lying issue.*
Luffy- I like this dude.
Usopp- My island is being attacked by pirates!
Luffy- *Helps with the pirate problem.*
Merry & Kaya- *Gives them the Going Merry as a thank you gift.*
Luffy- Come on Usopp, I know you wanna join!
Usopp- Fine! I'll become a warrior of the sea, like my deadbeat dad!
The Crew- *Hops on a restaurant boat for food, and meets a weird chef with swirl eyebrows.*
Luffy- Hey, join us!
Sanji- Dude, no. I'm not leaving this restaurant.
Don Krieg- *Attacks the restaurant.*
Luffy- *Deals with it, as per usual*
Zoro- Fight me! *Says Zoro, to the greatest swordsman he could never hope to beat, because he has the crazy goal of being the greatest swordsman.*
Mihawk- *Severely wounds Zoro.*
Sanji- You guys all have dreams just as crazy as mine, might as well join you.
Nami- *Steals everything from the Strawhats to make money.*
Luffy- Nah, not gunna bug her.
Arlong- *Has somebody steal the funds to by her home island from Nami, to force her to basically continue being his slave.*
Nami- Luffy... help.
Luffy- *Zero questions asked takes off to go beat that dude Arlong just because she asked for his help.*
Luffy- *Almost dies doing this, but nevertheless the mad lad does it.*
Nami- I'll actually join this time, no more robbing you guys.
Nami- *Gets really sick and almost dies.*
Luffy- A musician can wait for now, let's get her help. *Almost dies getting her help*
Chopper- *Accidentally gets spotted by Luffy, who immediately sees a reindeer and thinks "Dinner!"*
Chopper- *Transforms to get away.*
Luffy- Holy shit, a monster! Join my crew!
Chopper- *Offended by being called a monster, runs away.*
Sanji- Luffy is a monster too. Dude is literally made outta rubber.
Chopper- *Sense of camaraderie, but not enough yet.*
Luffy- *Helps him see his adoptive fathers dream through.*
Kureha- Go on kiddo, join em.
Chopper- Fine! Also I'm a doctor!
Luffy- Sweet, we needed one of those!
Robin- Theres no point in living, my research is going nowhere. Let me die.
Luffy- Absolutely not! *Saves her by force.*
Robin- You forced me to stay alive, guess I'm your problem now.
Franky- *Steals all the money from the Strawhats so they can't afford to fix the Going Merry, or buy a new ship.*
Luffy- Dude wtf. *Wrecks his base, but the money is already spent and gone.*
Usopp- I see your willingness to move on from the Merry as a personal attack, but I won't tell you that. Byeeee.
Robin- *Lets herself get arrested and sentenced to death to protect the crew.*
The Crew- Oh helllll nah! Get back here!
Franky- *Kidnaps Usopp as retribution, not knowing the situation of him leaving.*
Franky- Dude your ship is about to fall apart, let her rest.
Usopp- I know that! But the Merry is important, and also I saw a ghost fix her once.
Franky- Dude that ghost WAS the Merry. She talked to you because she loves you guys.
Government- *Kidnaps Franky and Usopp too.*
Franky- You have good friends Robin, maybe you should just let them save you.
Robin- No, I'm doing this for them.
The Crew- We literally don't want you to do that.
The Crew- *Literally wages war on the government to get their friend back.*
The Going Merry- *Saves the crew before having a tragic funeral as sea.*
Franky- You guys need a boat. It just so happens I used the money I stole from you to buy this epic wood to make a boat out of. You guys practically payed, so you can have it.
Luffy- Awesome! Now join us!
Franky- No.
Literally like a fifth of the population of Waters 7- *Steals his speedo in an elaborate game of keep away to get him to go to the Strawhats.
Luffy- Join or you can't have these back.
Robin- *Twists his balls to force him to join.*
Franky- Christ, fine.
Luffy- Holy crap guys it's a talking skeleton! Let's go talk to him!
Half the Crew- Absolutely not.
Luffy- We are doing this y'all.
Brook- Hello! Miss may I see your panties? *Asks the 90 year old skeleton dude*
Nami- Wtf? Absolutely not.
Luffy- Join us!
Brook- Yes!
Half the Crew- Luffy no...
Brook- I can sing and play instruments!
Luffy- Fuck yes a musician, finally!
Brook- My shadow was stolen so I'd die in the sun. Can't join, gotta get it back, don't follow me, BYEEEE! *Runs on the water and leaves.*
The Crew- *Accidentally ends up in the same place Brook went.*
The Crew- Oh shit zombies!
Luffy- Awesome! I wish all these monsters would join the crew!
The Crew- Dude... why.
Half the Crew- *Gets their shadows stolen by the same dude who stole Brooks.*
Brook- Use salt, it works.
Luffy- *Beats up a giant zombie with his shadow in it, and then beats up the warlord who steals the shadows.*
Luffy- Brook, join us.
Brook- No, sadly I cannot. As the last living member of my crew, I have a duty to our friend the whale, Laboon.
Luffy- Oh that whale? We know him! I drew our Jolly Roger on his face, he's a buddy of mine.
Brook- Guess I'm joining!
Jinbe- Luffy, buddy, come to the fish man island and say hi!
The Crew- *Immediately causes chaos.*
Jinbe- Dude please stop.
Luffy- Haha, no. So who do I needa punch to get you to join us?
Jinbe- I can't dude. Love you man, but I have prior arrangements.
Luffy- *Fixes the problem on the island*
Luffy- Ok now join us.
Jinbe- Busy.
Luffy- *More chaos.*
Jinbe- Fiiiiine. *Severs Ties with the Big Mom crew and joins them.*

SANJI x READER(fem)
Warnings: Mommy issues, Jealousy.
Summary: Sanji falling in love with young girl who later married one of his brothers.
Tumblr media
Sanji always had a thing for older women. As the cook of the Strawhat Pirates, he had been on many adventures and met countless beautiful women, but his heart always yearned for someone older than him. He had never understood why, but he always had a nagging feeling in the back of his mind that it had something to do with his mother.
Sanji had lost his mother at a young age, and it had left a deep scar on him. He had never really talked about it with anyone, but he knew deep down that he had never fully healed from her loss. His father was absent, and his brothers had always been cruel to him, so he had never really had anyone to turn to. But he had found solace in cooking and in the company of older women.
One day, the Strawhat Pirates had taken on a young girl named Y/N as a member. She was a few years younger than Sanji, but she was kind and caring, and she had taken it upon herself to look after him. Like her own child. Sanji had never really noticed it before, but Y/N had a way of making him feel safe and loved.
As they sailed on the Going Merry, Sanji found himself falling for Y/N. He tried to ignore it at first, knowing that she was too young for him and that it was wrong to feel this way. But he couldn't help himself. Y/N had become like a mother to him, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was in love with her.
One day, Sanji decided to tell Y/N about his feelings. He waited until they were alone on deck, and he took a deep breath.
"Y/N, there's something I need to tell you," he said, his heart pounding in his chest.
Y/N looked up at him, her kind eyes meeting his.
"What is it, Sanji?" she asked.
"I... I think I'm in love with you," Sanji blurted out.
Y/N's expression softened, but she didn't say anything.
"I know it's wrong," Sanji continued, "but I can't help the way I feel. You've been so kind to me, and you've helped me heal in a way that I never thought was possible. I just... I don't want to lose you."
Y/N smiled sadly. "Sanji, you don't have to love me just because I helped you out. Or just because that I was kind to you. I care about you, but not in that way. I'm sorry."
Sanji felt his heart sink. He had known deep down that Y/N didn't feel the same way, but hearing it out loud still hurt.
"I understand," he said, trying to keep his voice steady.
Y/N placed a hand on his shoulder. "I hope we can still be friends, Sanji. You're important to me."
Sanji nodded, feeling a lump in his throat. He couldn't bring himself to say anything else, so he turned and walked away. And with these words of hers she just left the Strawhats. Of course Luffy didn’t accept it but the others knew how she felt. Agreeing to one side love? No thanks, I’ll just leave this crew. Although she really liked the rest of them.
Days turned into weeks, and Sanji tried to move on from his feelings for Y/N. He threw himself into his cooking, trying to distract himself from the pain he felt. But it was always there, lurking in the back of his mind. Little thing he did know that she was a famous pirate out there since she left the Strawhats. People started spreading rumours about her.
One day, a newspaper landed on the ship. Sanji picked it up absentmindedly, his eyes scanning the headlines. But then he saw something that made his heart stop.
There, on the front page, was a picture of Y/N in a wedding dress, marrying one of his ridiculous brothers. It didn’t even matter which one it was. Every single of them is hilarious.
Sanji felt a surge of emotions hit him all at once. He was sad, because he had lost the woman he loved. He was angry, because his brothers had always been a source of pain for him. And he was jealous.
He had to get her back. There is no way that a woman like her would marry such a hilarious man. Sanji had a unsure feeling creeping inside of him. This must be a forced marriage or a ally. She was also too young to marry someone. Especially one of his brothers. So he had to get her before she could get harmed by them.
Part 2?

I don’t know if you heard of cookie run kingdom, but can we have a sea fairy cookie reader meeting the Strawhat pirates and them reacting her powers?
Hello, my dear, I don’t know this series, Cookie Run Kingdom, but I’m going to try to write something akin to this. I hope you like it!
-It was Luffy who first saw you, out of the corner of his eye, but when he looked, there was nothing there, confusing him. He remained where he was sitting, looking back out towards the ocean, and when he saw the glittering of your wings again, he turned as you had gotten a bit closer to him.
-You were stunned that he could see you, fluttering over, “You can see me?” he just grinned brightly, “I can! I’m Luffy, and I’m going to be King of the Pirates! Who are you?”
-You returned his warm grin, your hands coming to your hips, “My name is Y/N! I’m a Sea Fairy!” his eyes were sparkling, as he had never heard of a Sea Fairy before and he reached out to grab you, minding your wings, so you were sitting on his lap, “I want to introduce you to everyone else!”
-When Luffy held out his hand, “This is my new friend Y/N!” At first, some had difficulties seeing you, as only those with pure hearts could see you, unless you dropped your glamour which shielded you from the eyes of all.
-Chopper’s eyes were sparkling brightly, “It’s a fairy!!” while Sanji was confused, trying to see you, but he couldn’t see anything other than a faint shimmering in the air.
-Luffy and Chopper were confused when the others said they couldn’t see anything, before you stood on Luffy’s hand, “I’m on it!” You twirled, your wings sparkled, and, in an instant, you appeared to everyone who was quickly gawking at you, freaking out that there was a fairy on the ship!!
-You found this crew to be fun, they were funny, full of life, and despite not being pure hearted, you could tell that each one of them had kind hearts, in their own ways of course.
-While you were in Jinbei’s hand, after dancing amongst the crew, going from each member to greet them, learning their names, you told them what a Sea Fairy was, “Basically I’m a spirit of the sea! We guard and watch over the water and those who reside in it, like Jinbei here, but we are also protectors of sailors like yourselves, those with kind hearts, guiding them to safety if they were to ever become lost.”
-Jinbei couldn’t help but laugh warmly, telling everyone that Sea Fairies were immortal and were unable to be killed, so they were everywhere but they usually don’t reveal themselves to others, and usually the only ones who can see those of your kind were children, those who weren’t tainted yet.
-They all looked at Chopper and Luffy, who were gushing that they wanted you to join the crew, which made you laugh. They could see why Chopper was pure, as he was like a child, and Luffy was… Luffy was special, that’s the word they all agreed on, special.
-Luffy begged you to join the crew, “Please Y/N!! We’ve never had Sea Fairy on our crew before!!” You couldn’t help but laugh, thinking his request was amusing, but you had lived quite a long time, so having a bit of fun wouldn’t hurt, and you instantly agreed.
-When Jinbei, who was curious, came over and you sat on his shoulder, “Fairies usually don’t accept so quickly. What made you decide?”
-You sent him a warm grin, letting your wings relax as you sighed softly, leaning back, “It wasn’t the first time I was asked to join. I refused all those years ago, but this time… I think I’m going to have a lot of fun.” He was surprised, but curious on who asked you in the past, but you weren’t telling, at least at the moment as you and Jinbei joined the others in a huge party, celebrating their newest crew member, Sea Fairy Y/N!

Trafalgar!Sanji + ASL+S childhood friends (Acesan Childhood Friends to Lovers trope)...
Sanji goes with Baratie at Foosha and meets this chaotic trio of brothers, quickly befriending them. They are his first friends (since Law is his big brother) and even if he adores them, Sanji still never tells anything about his past or the scars he has.
And the blond goes to Foosha every couple of months, so he's not in the island when everything with Sabo happens, he just discovers about this the day the Baratie docks on the village again and he sees his friend with a scar on the face. And after knowing he almost lose his friend, it's like something tells him he shouldn't keep this, because he don't know if he will have them forever.
Sanji still don't tells his brother's name, because Law's "death" was still pretty recently but he still talk about him. The trio likes to hear about he saying moments he had with his brother (mostly Ace and Luffy, because they almost lost their brother).
So live goes on, Ace and Sanji start to date some time before Ace set sail, then Sabo also set sail and after 3 years Luffy do it. But the rubber boy finds Baratie and he goes with him in Luffy's adventure so Sanji can find the All Blue.
Everything we know happens, until Marineford where Sanji go to help to save his boyfriend because he knows how being punished/haunted by your family line is horrible. And they save Ace and Whitebeard.
So, the timeskip happens, and then Punk Hazard also happens and Ace is there (because he asks pops if he can stay with the StrawHats for some time since, y'know, he wants to be with Luffy and Sanji), but he notices his boyfriend is very close with the Trafalgar, that he is always with him and things like that.
Ace end up becoming a little jealous, bc Sanji never telled his big brother name so no one can make the connection. Until one night Ace asks Sanji about it and then the blond notices he never said Law's name to the ASL brothers. So y'know, he explains everything and the next morning Sanji talks with Ace and Law together, where the siblings tell the Portgas about everything they had gone through from both their points of view.
And after, Law decides to gave Ace a "little" shovel talk, since y'know, big brother worried about his young brother (Ace completely understands bc he IS a big sibling himself but still, being threatened by the Surgeon of Death is scary)
Love this, ASL+Trafalgar!S. A horrific set of people you never want to meet as a marine. Also yeah, we have to push the times back a teensy bit for most things but Sanji being twelve when he meets and befriends them shortly after Baratie opens and starts hanging out with them. He doesn't say where he's from or anything about any of his family. His scars hidden by the clothes he wears and the front he puts up.
Eventually he starts considering them closer than friends but he doesn't want to put a name to it. Not after everything he's been through. When Sanji comes back after the Grey Terminal Fires and finds out Sabo will be leaving soon with the Revolutionary Army. So Sanji breaks down and tells them he lost his brother in the North Blue with some friends(Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin) and he's scared to lose others. Sanji starts talking more about his brother, his spots on his skin.
When Sanji and Ace start dating Sanji comes ashore one day basically bouncing because Sabo's there but also his brother is alive and he got to talk to him!! Turns out they thought each other were dead, but they figured out they're not dead because of the paper. ASL still do not ask for the brother's name. Then Ace sets sail, and then a couple years later Luffy does and takes Sanji with him.
Sanji just barely making it to Marineford after Luffy and the Impel Down team make it out and the war is already raging. Sanji helping however he can and shocking a lot of people with his fire legs. They save Ace and White Beard and Sanji gets a good look at Teach as they leave. He gets a good look at Law too who is taking his captain to treat him after the punch from Akainu got him and Jinbei. Marco has Ace and White Beard. Sanji thanks them both and leaves for Kamabakka to train. He saved them. That's what matters.
After the TS Ace says Pops is retiring and Marco gave him permission to travel with the Straw hats. Luffy and Sanji are happy to be spending time with Ace and Luffy even has Franky fix up the Captain's quarters so that Ace and Sanji can have privacy. When they pick up Law in Punk Hazard Sanji is suddenly spending a lot of time with the warlord who saved Luffy. Law is allowed in the kitchen when Ace and Luffy aren't, they speak in a language no one else speaks, Robin keeps sending them looks Ace really doesn't like. So he asks Sanji about it when they're alone on deck one night headed to Dressrosa.
"Oh, shit. I never told you my brother's name." Sanji says with a sudden realization.
"Huh? What does your brother have to do with any of this?" Ace asks.
"My brother is Law. The shitty surgeon on the ship with us." Sanji replies.
"Oh." Ace says with wide eyes. "Oh shit, does he know we're dating?"
"I don't know." Sanji groans. "Oh shit, the bastard's gonna kill me."
"I think he's more likely to kill me than you." Ace deadpans and pulls the cook close who keeps mumbling apologies and leans into him. The next morning Ace is allowed in the kitchen for coffee with Law and Sanji even though it's ungodly early and no one should be awake. Law is somehow reading medical jargon at the table which is wild to Ace.
"So we need to have a talk." Sanji says.
"I figured that's why Fire Fist was in the galley. What about?" Law asks as marks his book and closes the book.
"He just found out you're my brother." Sanji answers sheepishly and Law takes off his hat, runs his hand into hair and groans.
"Does anyone else not know?" Law asks in dismay.
"Robin knows, Luffy might?" Sanji questions and then sees the look Law is giving him. "I didn't ask you to send a hundred marine hearts to Navy HQ! This is your dumb revenge plan!"
"Yeah, and when I get your birth family's name they're next!" Law orders.
"Wait, even he doesn't know that? How did you two even meet?" Ace asks in a confused and whiny tone. Sanji laughs and gets breakfast in the oven and brings the coffee set up to the table. Law and Sanji explain almost everything, how Law found Sanji but doesn't mention the helmet, Bepo joining and Shachi and Penguin shortly after. The storm that separated them and then the rock and Zeff. The phone calls between them until he joined Luffy's crew. They go back and forth, trading their sides of the story and Law thinking Sanji died again on Sabaody when the crew got separated after Kuma and Sanji rubs his neck and apologizes to the eldest.
Later Ace and Law are alone for some reason on deck, everyone else is doing something and Law isn't in the galley for some reason. Ace looks at him with confusion as Law leans over the railing next to him. Law pulls a heart out of his pocket and Ace's eyes widen as he watches it beat.
"It's just my heart, calm down." Law tells him. "One of the first things I learned with my fruit, I don't do a lot of killing since I'm a doctor. The marines' hearts are all just fine at their head quarters."
"That really calms me down." Ace deadpans and Law laughs lightly.
"I just wanted to talk to you, about Sanji." Law says.
"I get it, Akainu is at the top of my list for what he did to Luffy, you'll kill me, I got it." Ace replies.
"Once again, doctor, I don't do a lot of murdering," Law points out, "I'm not a kind doctor of course, I save those who would die by any other doctor and I'm not kind. I will do anything to protect Sanji, no matter who gets in my way. So if you can't or won't, I'll sink the worst generation and more to get to him." Law says as puts his heart back in his pocket and stands straight. "But you understand that."
"All too well, are you going to put that back?" Ace asks.
"Nah, this one is going into hiding. I have a different one." Law smirks and taps his chest.
"What the fuck does that mean?" Ace asks as Law walks away and laughs. "What the fuck does that mean, Trafalgar!?"

Calm Waters
Pairing: Sanji x Female Reader
Song used: Bink’s Sake- instrumental 1 hour
Rating: G
A/N: The reader is a year younger than Sanji. She is 20 years old
Summary: The Strawhat crew has found calm waters and decided to sleep on the deck. The stars shone blissfully above them. Brook, the crew's musician, pulls his violin out and plays ‘Bink’s Sake’ without singing. He would hum the tone of the song as he played and watched as the others slowly drifted off to sleep. Sanji had tucked himself in his girlfriend's arms hoping to find the peace he desperately wanted. Sanji, being touch-starved his whole life, finds the one thing he has been yearning for his whole life. When they awake the next morning, Sanji and Y/n are already in the kitchen making breakfast.
It was the perfect night to stargaze. The waters slowly lapped at the side of the Sunny as the Strawhats sailed through the water. Night had fallen and the crew decided to sleep on the deck. The stars shone down as the crew brought blankets and pillows. Y/n leaned against the railing and watched the water below. Her eyes glistened with the love she held for the sea. A pair of arms snaked around her waist causing her to look up and find Sanji smiling at her. “Well hello, handsome. Is the bedding ready?” She asked.  Sanji smiled at the nickname before nodding his head and laying his chin on her shoulder. “Shall we go and lay down? Watch the stars, and try and count the endless sky?” She asked.
Sanji smiled softly at her before nodding his head. They both moved to their respective blanket before laying down next to each other. Y/n found her spot laying on Sanji’s chest, her ear over his heart. The steady beat of his heart lulled her into a tried state. Sanji ran his fingers through her hair and smiled when he could hear her breathing slow to the point she was fast asleep. Brook sat in a chair near the crew and pulled his violin out. Being a skeleton, he didn’t need much sleep. He was just bones after all.
He began playing Bink’s Sake slowly and calmly to help the crew fall asleep.  Sanji could feel his eyes growing heavy as the song lulled him to sleep. He turned to his side and wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against his chest. He could feel her hands press against his chest before her head moved and snuggled right up against his chin. He smiled softly before he finally fell asleep.
His entire childhood held nothing this gentle for him. He was always beaten by his brothers. Scorned by his father. His sister helped but she never stopped the beatings from happening. When he was forced to marry one of Big Mom’s children, he tried to forget about Y/n but something in his mind wouldn’t allow him to. When he was being taken to meet with Big Mom and Pudding, Luffy, Nami, and his sweet Y/n had come racing towards him. Y/n ran with Luffy as they charged toward the carriage. At that moment, Sanji knew that what he was doing wasn’t right.
He jumped from the carriage and right to his friend and his girlfriend. His arms circled the two and held them tightly against his chest as he cried. The tears fell down his face like a river. He begged them to save him and get him away from the island. Luffy, having enough of his friend crying, simply used his haki to break the golden cuffs around his wrists. Y/n smiled softly at him and pressed her hands to his face. Holding his face in her hands so gently that a fresh wave of tears fell down his face.
“We are taking Sanji back with us. If you have a problem with that, you can face me and the rest of my crew.” Luffy had snarled at Sanji’s father. Y/n had wrapped her arms around Sanji’s waist before she released his waist and grabbed his hand and began running towards the tree Nami was sitting on. “Get us back to the boat!” Nami yelled at the tree, just as Luffy jumped up and landed next to them. Sanji’s eyes opened as he looked toward Y/n. Her eyes closed and her chest slowly rose and fell as she slept. “I can’t believe you are mine Y/n. You are something out of a fairy tale.” He whispered before pressing a soft kiss to her forehead and closing his eyes. He soon fell asleep at the gentle sound of the violin. A smile was present on his lips the rest of the night.
{In the morning}
When the crew woke the next morning, Sanji and Y/n were nowhere to be found. When they thought the two had been kidnapped, the sound of falling pots and pans startled them. “Damn it! Who stuck those there?” They could hear Sanji’s irritated voice before Y/n’s laughter filled the air. “Sanji my dear, that was you.” She said. Everyone tried their best to hold in their laughter but Sanji threw open the door and glared at everyone. “I know you all were about to laugh. How about you all make yourselves useful and get the deck cleaned. If you don’t, none of you get food.” Sanji threatened causing everyone to start cleaning.
Y/n laughed from where she was mixing the batter for pancakes. “You should be easier on them Sanji.” She teased. Sanji rolled his eyes before going over to the stove. “They wouldn’t clean the ship if I asked them nicely.” He said, turning the stove on and grabbing a frying pan. Y/n giggled before bringing the batter over to him. He smiled and took the bowl from her hands and began making pancakes. She moved around him and grabbed another frying pan and all the eggs they had left. “We may have to stop at the next island to pick up more eggs,” Y/n said as she cracked the eggs into a huge bowl.
Sanji sighed but a smile was present on his face. Y/n smiled softly to herself. After being told about his family life, Y/n was desperate to see Sanji allow a real, and true smile to appear on his face. When she started dating him, she could see the fake smile he put on everyone. It hurt her to know that he was still suffering silently. However, as time went on, she could see the real smile trying to break free. Before long, Sanji was smiling and having a grand time. She is so proud of her boyfriend.
As the two continued to work around each other and get breakfast ready, Nami entered the kitchen. “The deck has been cleaned and a table has been set up out there. Should Robin and I get the table all set and prepared?” She asked, looking between Sanji and Y/n. Sanji grinned and nodded his head. “Yes. If you and Robin-Chan can get the table set, Y/n and I should be about done with making breakfast by then. We just have a few more things to cook.” Sanji said, smiling at Nami as the redhead returned the smile and went back to get Robin. Sanji returns to making and flipping the pancakes. A lazy smile sits on his lips before he turns to Y/n. “You have been the best thing other than this crew to happen to me.” Sanji blurted out after 10 minutes of silence.
Y/n stopped scrambling the eggs and turned to look at him. “What do you mean?” She asked, confusion written on her face. Sanji chuckled before flipping the pancake and placing it on the plate next to him. He grabbed the spoon full of batter and quickly got another pancake into the pan. “Well, you know my life story. I never had a happy childhood and to be quite honest, never thought I would have a girlfriend. Yet, here I am. On a pirate boat with a crew that loves me beyond measure, and a girlfriend that is willing to go far and wide to make me smile. I don’t think I deserve you or this crew.” Sanji said, slipping the spatula under the pancake as it was ready to flip.
Y/n finished scrambling the eggs and placing them in a bowl. She immediately placed the pan in the sink along with the utensils she used. Sanji was still flipping and making pancakes but was startled when he felt her arms wrap around his waist. Her face was buried in his back. He could feel a slight wetness on his back and he panicked. “My love, are you crying?! Did I say something wrong?” He panicked even more when that wetness grew at a rapid pace. Y/n shook her head against his back allowing him to calm down a bit. “No. You didn’t do anything wrong. It's your family that did something wrong.” Her voice was muffled against his back but Sanji heard it.
He finished the last of the pancake batter and finished flipping them and placing them on the plate. He turned the stove off and turned around in her arms. His hands pressed against her face and gently lifted her face so he could see her eyes. They glistened with unshed tears. Her bottom lip wobbled as she tried to hold back more tears. Sanji smiled sadly at her before dipping his head and pressing his lips to hers. Her hands reached up and pressed against his when he tilted her head back as he deepened the kiss. Pulling away to catch their breath, Sanji leaned his forehead against hers.
“I am yours, and you are mine. I love you more than words can tell you.” Sanji whispered. His hands dropped from her face to rub her arms in a comforting manner. She smiled before lifting her face up to look at him in the eyes. “Good. Because you can’t get rid of me that easily.” She said, causing Sanji’s head to fall back as laughter filled the kitchen. Y/n smiled before joining in on the laughter. When the laughter died down, Y/n and Sanji began to take the finished food out to the rest of the crew. Robin and Nami had finished setting the table and were trying to gather the other crew members.
Y/n sat next to Sanji as they began to get food. The morning sun climbed up the sky as they laughed, talked, and yelled around the table. Brook even suggested another round of singing to which the crew gave a hearty “YES” in reply. When he pulled his violin out, he played the same song but everyone joined in and sang to the song. Y/n intertwined her fingers with Sanji’s under the table as they sang together. Sanji could feel his heart beating faster at the small action she took. However, it warmed his heart to know that he had something that loved him for him and not because of his status of being a prince or something of that nature. That’s the whole reason he fell in love with her. She saw him as a man who needed love and a gentle touch and gave it to him.
The rest of the morning consisted of singing, laughter, and shenanigans. Could Sanji really blame his crew? He could, but he chooses not to. After all, how could he? They were the ones that pick him up when he is at his lowest and are there when he is at the highest point in his life. Y/n had been there when he was about to sign his life away to some girl he didn’t even know. Now, he is with the girl that he truly loves and will never leave her side.
“I love you Y/n,” Sanji whispered.
A smile. A brush of lips before a kiss. “I love you too, my prince.”
The reply melted Sanji’s heart and he buried his face in her shoulder and cried.
Her laughter rang out as her fingers ran through his hair in an attempt to calm the crying cook down. “I’m you prince?” His wobbly voice was muffled by her neck but she smiled brightly. “Always and forever!” Was her reply. Sanji grinned against her neck before planting a kiss there. “Then you shall be my princess.”

I saw....your strawhat dynamic things and i really thought they were SO cool
One i think would be interesting would be like.
Jinbei and Franky
(If youre still doing them of course teehee)
Apologies for the late response, I’ve had COVID so I’m all fucked up and lethargic. But your ask has interested me so let's talk about Jinbei and Franky!
Similar to the Usopp and Jinbei one, there isn’t a ton of examples for them specifically interacting so that means I get to look at them separately first to analyze their potential relationship (which means I get to finally talk about Franky which is great cause I love a SUPPPPPEERRR guy!)
(Not counting Brook because he’s dead) Franky and Jinbei are the oldest members of the strawhats and they have aged VERY differently so let's look at Franky first.
Franky grew up as a violent scrap child building guns and biting his older brother. He’s running barefoot through broken glass in only a swimsuit bottom, Hawaiian shirt, and some goggles (a style choice that he will not change into adulthood). He’s all crazed feral boy energy mixed with a kind of skill only a mother could love…or rather a fish dad. Tom has the kindest soul in the One Piece canon for putting up with this absolute sewer trash of a child (he’s probably got all kinds of diseases just festering under those bottoms). This is all to say that Tom raised him to be himself and be great at what he does. Embracing his talent and skill no matter where it leads him. Tom never wanted Franky to change, only to embrace himself and optimize what he could do for others. But like all the strawhats and their dead parents, the practical application of the helpful lesson that was being taught gets cut short when you (as their child) are in some form or another, reasonable for that same parent to be killed (Sanji, Nami, Franky, Robin, and Chopper). Hard to embrace who you are when you are the reason the most important person in your life is dead….that fucks a kid up in a way that leads them to throw a lifelong tantrum where they refuse to learn the entire lesson (Chopper not learning he’s a monster, Sanji not learning his wasn’t a failure, Nami not learning to rely on people, etc.) In Franky’s case, he learned to never stop being himself and made sure to keep Tom’s legacy of taking in street rats and turning them into stubborn, hard-to-kill, assholes (/said with love). Before I give him too many brownie points for maturity though, after Tom died he COMPLETELY GAVE UP SHIP/WEAPON BUILDING, WHICH WAS TOM’S WHOLE SCHTICK! Come on man, that was his main thing!
Then he meets Luffy.
Then it’s all over for him.
I saw a post a long time ago that said ‘Franky is your dad’s friend’ and it’s so accurate. He’s old enough to be your dad, but he assumes almost zero responsibility for your health and well-being while being the most interesting person in the room by a long shot. He’s in no way the voice of reason, if it was up to him you guys would be playing paintball in the kitchen and night swimming in gator-infested waters just for the fun of it. Sure, he’ll make sure you don’t die…but he’ll still tape you to the ceiling while you’re sleeping for kicks. This is his energy in the strawhats. His being a fucking cyborg doesn’t make him the weirdest person on the ship by a wide margin and lives to be very excited by this news. He embraces the strangeness the straw hats have to offer and shoots it right back. Usopp works with him to build cooler and cooler shit. Luffy’s creativity makes the inner scrap child in him squeal with joy. Zoro and Robin are bloodthirsty psychos who make his weapon-centered brain perk up in interest. Sanji will serve his every whim, Chopper’s a fucking delight, Brook’s excellent weird old man energy, and then there is Jinbei… let's talk about Jinbei (again).
Jinbei is one of the few members of the strawhats who met Luffy after they had matured, which for the sake of this essay means they were assured of themselves and fully understood what being a part of his crew meant. Zoro showed up committed and confident, but other than that…every other crewmate needed Luffy to push them toward their dreams. Jinbei understood the assignment (because of his experience~) and showed up to join knowing full well what kind of trust and loyalty was required of him. As I mentioned in my other analysis of Jinbei, his interaction with the strawhats are all hilarious because nothing in his life could have prepared him for this. Foundationally, they operate like all good crew do…unwavering faith in their captain and fellow crewmates but that's kind of where the similarities end. He’s shell-shocked with the amount of stupid the strawhats get up to, not to mention how all of them act like children. Sanji and Zoro bicker like brothers; Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper are all easily assumed and play children's games (like tag); Nami’s stubborn to a fault; and Franky is flamboyant and ridiculous (the worst part is Robin who fully knows better but chooses to get in on all that stupid). Jinbei has to start viewing his joining of the strawhats like a retirement while still being an old kickass because if not he’s gonna lose his mind.
BACK ON TOPIC!
Jinbei didn’t have a ‘Tom’ in his life when he needed one. He was left abandoned in the fish-man district with nothing but disenfranchised kids his age and a karate dojo. Think about what Franky would have turned into if it was just him and Iceburg on Water 7…a nightmare. Jinbei grew up in an unfair situation and was reminded of that fact all through his time in the guard and in the sun pirates. He was never given an outlet or a chance to move beyond that pain in the way that Franky did. Franky wasn’t sulking about how evil pirates are because they just fucking abandoned him, no he got to move on…Jinbei can’t do that. Not only did he not have a ‘Tom’ but he also had institutionalized racism which meant no matter how much he tried to do good and move on…him being a fish-man will always be his defining feature to those bigoted One Piece citizens/marines. Because of that difference, Jinbei had to find peace through a much longer process of hatred -> violence -> compromise -> understanding -> acceptance -> strawhat-themed enlightenment. Jinbei and Fisher Tiger grew up together which inspired him to do better with Fisher Tiger leading by example. Tom already had everything worked out by the time he met Franky and was willing and able to pass on that wisdom to the dirty little scrap boy.
The difference between them lies in the difference between being taught and learning along with what nurture can do to change perspective.
(I obviously simplified the topic of racism when it comes to Fish-man and the parallels it has to real-life racism and I understand that doing so can create an incomplete picture of events but it’s fucking 1 am and that essay, while important, will be for another day).
Hope you enjoyed sorry it took me so long to write all this, I had to rewatch some early Water 7 to recall what even Franky’s childhood was like and I hope I made some good points! Thanks for the ask and the potential read!
