“I’m tired of Hades x Persephone where is my Ares x Aphrodite retelling!?” I think you are underestimating the very real threat of Hephaestus being portrayed in a cartoonishly evil and ableist manner as well as Ares and Aphrodite’s more messed up aspects being watered down and removing any nuance and complexity you liked about them in the first place and write them as a generic jock x cheerleader to Hephaestus as a nerd. Bc that’s what writers are up to nowadays.

My Greek Mythos phase is coming in strong today, so have some Greek god headcanons (Poly Edition)
Aphrodite, Ares, and Hephaestus are a poly couple. Aphrodite is Bi and Poly with a lean towards guys, Ares is also Bi and Poly, and Hephaestus is Demi and recently realised Poly. Hephaestus and Aph were engaged to one another, she took interest in Ares and started dating him, while still with Hephaestus (he knew she was poly and agreed to an open relationship). Eventually she set up a blind date between her two lovers and they hit it off, finding stuff in common and enjoying the other’s company. Now, they’re a happy polycule.
Also long haired Ares and short haired Aphrodite is my fucking kyptonite
In Greek mythology, the goddess of love, beauty, flowers, desire and fertility. The most beautiful of the goddesses of ancient myths. The question of her origin is variously presented in myths.
