Time Is All We Have
A Doctor Who x Rise of the TMNT Xover interest check/story prologue because i'm losing all control of my life lmao
Quick mini-primer for where in both timelines we are:
Non-teetle fixaters, you can just watch the first few minutes of the Rise movie. Bad future timeline shenanigans wahoo! You should probably also get a feel for the regular present timeline from the show if you can, though we won't be directly interacting with it for a quite a bit. Because Reasons. :)
Non-Who fixaters, we're rolling with David Tennant Doctor The First and the companion named Martha Jones. The name similarity to the Casey Joneses makes me giggle, especially now that I've watched through the (REDACTED) episodes where she ends up with some more Caseys parallels. Those haven't happened yet for her though lmao. Frankly, she's only had a few episodes'-worth of adventures with the Doctor by this point. :)
anyway. shoutout to my brother purpletango for having this idea. i believe what i hurriedly jotted down in my notepad app went like this:
the rise movie begins, mikey gets ready to send junior back in time- -and something goes wrong. welp, the gateway's there now. may as well use it. junior gets yeeted through (and my brain is now adding the idea of leo realizing something's up and going with him) and junior (and maybe leo) land…in the TARDIS. now they gotta get back to earth (hoping they're at least in the right dimension) to find the key and stop the krang. NO PRESSURE LMFAO
with a lil tweaking to the premise that just sorta happened as i was writing, i'm now at 26k words of combined fic and notes. it has been 2.5 weeks. i am nowhere near done. help lmao
gonna be doing something a bit funky with the tardis here just to get the ball rolling. idk if it's a canon thing that can happen but if it's not then shshshshshshsh just pretend with me. take my hand
Almost exactly twelve hours prior to the moment he died, when the rest of what remained of the Resistance had been asleep and it had only been the turtles awake to keep watch, Michelangelo had looked to his big brother and said, "We can't beat them, can we?"
Last night, Leonardo had swallowed and given a slight shake of his head. "We can't."
"They've even stolen the night sky from us somehow," Michelangelo had said, lifting his gaze to the cloudless, crimson sky. "Look, there's no stars anymore."
"When did that happen?" Leonardo had asked under his breath. "We still had at least a handful last I checked…"
"Sometime since the last time we had enough peace and quiet at night to actually look up. I'd say…in the past few weeks?" Michelangelo had suggested.
There had been silence for a long moment after that, broken only by the quiet, deep breathing of the few who were left, as well as the shifting of Michelangelo's cloak as he scooted a bit closer to his brother.
Between the two of them, Leonardo and Michelangelo had enough organic fingers and toes to count everyone else who'd survived the past twenty-odd years. Then again, with only two toes on each foot, three fingers on each hand, and three organic hands left to use…well. Less than twenty wasn't exactly an army.
Casey had shifted in his sleep, eventually, mumbling something incoherent the way his mother always had.
Leonardo had swallowed.
Michelangelo had pulled his gaze back down to Earth and looked at him.
"The Krang won't give us the mercy of dying," Leonardo had said grimly. "Not if they can help it."
"They won't," Michelangelo had agreed.
"The others chose to fight with us. Humans, yokai, and mutants. Even Todd. Never would've expected him of all yokai to be so kickass, back in the day. But…this is all Casey's ever known," Leonardo had continued.
"It is."
There had been a shifting in the shadows off in the distance, then, and while it had turned out to be easily taken care of, it had still put a pause on the brothers' conversation for a bit.
When they'd gotten back, but before they'd woken the others and gotten moving again, Leonardo had nailed Michelangelo with a solemn look. "We can't avoid this forever, but Casey…"
"I know you're not talking about that thing we talked about never talking about," Michelangelo had said, raising the ridges of his brows for a deadpan look and a wry smile.
Leonardo had jabbed an elbow into his plastron with a thick snicker…but he hadn't denied it.
Michelangelo had sobered up, then. "Oh."
"Do you think you can do it?" Leonardo had asked as he'd knelt to shake April awake, pausing before he did to meet Michelangelo's eyes.
"I know I can," Michelangelo had said, remaining quiet about how 'it' would very likely be the end of him.
They'd both already known as much.
"When?"
"I-I don't know. When things look bleakest," Leonardo had tried. "If it comes down to us. If it's just you and somebody else. If…if it's just you."
Michelangelo had nodded, then put a hand on his brother's carapace. "The Krang'll get front-row seats to Earth's very own home-grown sun. And that's a Doctor Delicate Touch guarantee."
"Wouldn't expect anything less, little man," Leonardo had chuckled. "Give 'em a light show that'll have 'em running scared."
"I can fly, Leo. And 'little man' was always Raph's thing," Michelangelo had snickered, reaching down to wake Casey. "Hey, Casey, we gotta get moving. Mind waking up and reminding your sensei that I win all height contests forever, no take-backs?"
The noise had begun rousing the others, and Leonardo had scoffed. "Turning my own student against me, Mikey? Low blow."
"Nah," April had said from where she lay. "This is a low blow."
She had snapped an arm out to smack Leonardo's shin, and the rest of the survivors had woken to quiet laughter.
It had been nice.
The last moment of calm within the storm.
In the present, Michelangelo winced as the mystic energies swirling through him reached a crescendo, but still pushed further, digging his fingers into the fabric of reality and wrenching it apart.
With Leonardo wounded, everyone else outnumbered, and Krang closing in on all sides, it was definitely pretty bleak.
There was no better time to make a time gateway than when there was no time left, after all.
His heart pounded in his tympana, loudly enough he almost could have sworn it echoed, a thud-thud-thud-thud that wanted to shake him to the core.
For a moment, with the Krang bearing down on him, his brother, and his nephew, it felt like he was losing his grip.
Casey's voice managed to overpower the thud-thud-thud-thud: "Master Michelangelo, no! You're gonna-!"
He knew.
How could he not, with light cracking his skin and his scales into little flakes of dust on the wind?
But Casey…he was the future.
The best of all of them.
As long as Casey would be okay, Michelangelo could do anything. Would do anything.
He turned his head back over his shoulder for one last look.
Casey looked horrified.
Leonardo looked resigned.
There was no one else left.
(He didn't want to go.)
Michelangelo smiled and gave his family a cheeky little wink, then turned his attention to the time gateway in front of him, threw his arms out to his sides with one last heave-!
-and like Earth's very own home-grown supernova, like the very last star in the universe, he imploded into golden light.
Leonardo felt himself shatter inside as Mikey disintegrated and the time gate stabilized, but the Krang were still closing in.
"Casey, when you're done saving the world, do me a favor," he said, putting a hand on the kid's shoulder.
Casey looked up at him with wide eyes. "Sensei, don't-!"
Leonardo just smiled sadly and shifted his grip from comforting to more of a ready to throw.
He ignored the fire in his side and the trickle of blood down his plastron as he hurled Casey into the gateway. "Grab a slice-!"
"NO!"
Casey's scream was the only warning Leonardo had before the wrist-strapped grapple (standard issue, at least before Donnie had gone out with a bang) streaked back out of the portal, latched onto Leonardo's good shoulder, and yanked him off his feet.
"Whoawhoawhoawhoawhoa-!"
The deafening thrum of a Krang laser and a flash of heat at his back told Leonardo exactly how he should have died, but the sensations vanished just as quickly as they'd appeared, leaving only the golden light of Michelangelo's ninpo and the silhouette a few yards away that told Leonardo where Casey was.
Leo almost let himself go limp in the rushing mass of energy as it faded from golden-orange to something more bluish-gray.
Almost.
Instead, however, he grit his teeth against the way his wound flared up and started swimming for Casey.
The light around them grew brighter with no signs of stopping.
By the time Leo reached the kid, he had to screw his eyes shut to avoid going blind.
He managed to grab Casey's hand, then wrap himself protectively around him-
-and then some kind of metal grating slammed against his carapace, his head snapped back, and he knew only darkness.
The Doctor blinked at the sudden sound of beeping. "Oh? That doesn't sound right."
"Doctor? What is it?" asked Martha.
"I'm getting an alert," said he, darting over to one of the TARDIS' monitors for a look. "An alert that there's a lifeform catapulting through the timestream almost completely unprotected- two! Two lifeforms!"
Martha blinked. "What? How did that happen?"
"I don't know, but if we want to find out, we'd best get them onboard before whatever shielding they do have is eroded away." The Doctor studied the monitor for a moment more, then slid around the console and started throwing the appropriate levers and flicking the appropriate switches. "I need to focus on getting close- would you mind peeking out the doors to make sure my aim isn't off?"
"On it!"
The Doctor grinned, then turned his focus back to steering. "Aaalright then! They ought to be coming up just ahead, maybe a smidge to our left-!"
"I see them!" Martha called. "One of them- one looks human!"
The Doctor blinked, then looked up. "Only the one?"
Martha nodded, not tearing her eyes from the window. "The other looks almost like a turtle! Except, well, it's person-sized!"
"Curiouser and curiouser," the Doctor mused. Then, looking back down at the console, "Well, I think the simplest course of action would be to just…scoop them up!"
Martha glanced his way in confusion. "What, just open the door and grab 'em?"
"Exactly. You'll want to be quick and precise," the Doctor recommended. "Good to know we're on the same page."
After a moment to process what he'd said, Martha nodded slowly. "…right."
The Doctor carefully piloted the TARDIS close, and as he watched the energy readings of the two lifeforms get close enough, he heard Martha open the door, then yelp in surprise as something hard hit the metal flooring with a clang.
"Sensei?!" squawked the thick and emotional voice of a pubescent human boy.
"Oh, my," said the Doctor, skirting the edge of the console as he jogged over for a look.
Immediately, he could tell that whatever the circumstances were that had led to the two strangers being catapulted into the timestream, they had not been pretty. Between the apocalyptic fashion and weaponry, the fact that the turtle had seemingly been curled around the boy until losing consciousness, and the sight of tear tracks on the boy's face…well, a billboard would have been less obvious.
The boy glanced between the Doctor and Martha, wide eyes quickly shifting into suspicion as he slid off "Sensei's" plastron and placed himself between the turtle and the Doctor. "Who are you? What do you want with us? Are you with the Krang?"
Huh. He sounded American.
"Krang?" asked Martha, turning to him. "Doctor, what's a Krang?"
The Doctor frowned, mulling the word over. "Krang? Krang, Krang, KrangKrangKrang… Can't say I recognize the name. Bit of a shocker, really, and somewhat worrisome."
The boy's face spasmed, confusion clearly welling up, but the door chose to remind them all that it was still open by letting a tannish cloak drift through and land next to the two newcomers.
The sight of the cloak made the boy's eyes moisten further.
Oh, dear.
"Martha, could you get the door?" asked the Doctor, shifting his voice into something a little softer as he knelt next to the two strangers.
"Oh, uh- you got it."
As Martha did exactly that, the Doctor met the boy's eyes. "I'm the Doctor. Behind you is Martha, and this is the TARDIS. I don't know what it is you're running from, whatever this 'Krang' business is, but I promise you, you're safe here."
The boy's suspicion slowly lessened, the tension in his shoulders loosening some- though, notably, nowhere near completely. "And…what's a tardis?"
"My spaceship," said the Doctor modestly. "'S how I get around. What I want to know is, how did a humanoid teenager and a turtleman with a robotic arm end up hurtling through the timestream all on their lonesome?"
At that, the boy's gaze flickered to the cloak on the ground, and his jaw hardened in that way jaws tended to do when the only other option was to sob.
"…I see," said the Doctor quietly. "While I'd like to know the specifics, pushing this sort of thing never really seems to work out well. So I won't."
"You-" The boy's voice cracked, and he tried again. "You said you were a doctor?"
"The Doctor," corrected he.
"Though I've been training as one for quite some time, myself!" Martha reminded.
The boy visibly warred with himself for a moment, then grit his teeth and pulled slightly away from the turtle's side, revealing a nasty gash that had gone clean through his shell. "Help him. Please."
Martha gasped. "Oh, God-!"
The Doctor's eyes flew wide, but then he nodded firmly. "We'll do everything we can."

Ushijima
It would just be a normal day in his class, learning and stuff like usual
Then after the teacher finished explaining and hand out the tasks, he'll went through his pencil case and couldn't seem to find any pen
Ushijima frowned at that and looked throughly in his pencil case but with no luck, there's none
He swore that he had put some inside, maybe his mind slipped a little?
A tap on his shoulder caught his attention as he turned his head around to make eye contact with you
You're holding out one of your pen to him with a neutral look,
"You can have it," Ushijima look at you surprised, does that mean he can just take it from you? That's a little absurd
But he didn't question it and nodded, slowly taking the pen from your hand and continue studying
The pen doesn't really sit right in his hand, it's not being his and literally someone else that he doesn't have the chance to talk to
He'll spare a glance at you every minute (ngl, he's complimenting your side view internally)
And when you caught him looking at him, he'll just blink and slowly look back at his work with a light blush on his cheeks
(Istg it's so cute)
After the class ends and before you can leave for lunch, Ushijima caught your attention first,
"Here, thank you for lending me this. And unfortunately, i can't take it from you"
You're just looking at him with a dumbfounded look before taking the pen from him,
"Ah, no problem, um..." "Ushijima Wakatoshi"
You nodded at that, scratching the back of your head "...Ushijima. And it's [y/n]"
Both of you are just standing there in front of each other but it's not awkward, surprisingly
It's as if you two are waiting for one of you to speak and end the convo
(Spoiler alert; none of you wanted to end the convo since both of you find each other interesting)
You cleared your throat, fiddling with your pen a little, "Okay, see you after this, Ushijima"
He nodded at that and with that, both of you went to your separate ways
'[Y/N], YOU AWKWARD BASTARD! THAT WAS SO EMBARRASSING, I BET HE THOUGHT THAT YOU'RE WEIRD NOW!'
Ushijima's just walking towards the gym with a fairly visible blush across his cheeks as he look down
"Ushijima..."
"[y/n]..."
"I guess he's fine..."
"I guess she's fine..."
Ushijima Current Mission!
Trying to figure what other scenarios he can drag you in to have a convo with you again
Good luck Wakatoshi~!
Tendou
You and Tendou have talked with eachother a couple of times but it's nothing more than that
And Tendou actually want to talk more with you (at first for friendship points but y'know...)
Today, you look more beautiful than ever to him today
It's not like you're not beautiful every other day (he thinks you're pretty so that's why he kept on having a convo with you)
And he caught into that
Somehow, he can't help bet stare at you in a distance and he tried his best to avoid getting caught
(Tendou's scared that you find him creepy for looking at you all the time and he don't want that thought to flood you mind)
Then, you came to him to explain about the work your science teacher gave since she's absent for the time being
And you can bet that he doesn't hear a single thing you said because he's too focused on yourself
It's kinda like in those scenes in manga where the main character stare into the main interest
The main interest looking as beautiful as ever with flowers around them
Pretty eyes, angelic face, kissable lips
For him, you're perfect and he even thought that you might be an angel in disguise
No matter how you even see yourself, he would always think that you're fascinating, adorable, enticing—
"Tendou, are you okay?"
The redhead snapped out from his thought and got caught by you
By now, his face is literally mocking his hair color as he chuckled nervously,
"Ah, I'm fine! It's just that..."
He was about to stop mid sentences but thankfully he still got that crumbs of courage and just goes with it,
"...you look pretty today,"
Tendou said with a closed eyes smile, peeking an eye open and trying to see your reaction (ngl he's nervous)
You blinked
Before you literally exploded at that which is what make him surprised in his seat
You fake coughed, looking away and avoiding eye contact,
"Thanks...."
[love meter +10!]
If this is an actual manga or anime, there could've been hearts dancing around him
Timeskip to Tendou at his home and squealing quietly to himself (he can't let his family hear him fanboying for someone in his school lmao)
"We're totally going to marry 3 years from now on~" he says to himself in the mirror with so many confidence
(I just love it when Tendou act like that, let him have his moment)
"Haha, thank you gods for creating me and [y/n] in the same world,"
Tendou's Current Mission!
Getting to know you better and give tons and tons of compliments, just like in the simulations! Specifically otomes and dating games
Try your best Satori~!
Semi
It was another day, another practice session
Except that it went longer than Semi expected, he managed to run from the gym to the main entrance
But before he can even put on his shoes, heavy rain started pouring down
He look at the dark grey sky, resting his forehead onto the shoe locker with one shoe already in his foot while the other in his hand
Sighing, Semi thought about asking to come with Tendou and Yamagata since he didn't bring his umbrella
But on second thought, he realized that they prolly forgot theirs too
And all 3 of them have to run under the rain again like last time
Yamagata and Tendou: "We can avoid the rain if we're fast enough!"
He shivered at that their words and the thought of getting terribly sick again
And before Semi's brain can process a strategy for himself, he was caught off guard when an umbrella was opened next to him,
"Ah sorry,"
In those few seconds, everything went slow motion when your eyes catches his
(He swore it felt like in the anime)
He can feel his cheeks flushing a little but thanks to the wheater, it's not obvious
"Hello?" Semi snapped from his thoughts, shaking his head before focusing on you again,
"Sorry, sorry, um—" "You don't have an umbrella?"
He blinked, shaking his head slightly
It's a pretty peaceful staring between you two with the rain hitting the ground as background sounds
Until you lift your umbrella up, and pointed at the small spot next to you with your thumb,
"Here, I'll help you,"
"Eh?"
Semi was flabbergasted a little at your statement but would he decline it?
Of course not,
"Just tell me where your house is then I help you go there,"
And that's how he find himself back at his house's entrance with you in front of him,
"And that's why I just let you walk with me for the afternoon,"
"Is that so, oh wait! I haven't known your name, and you prolly haven't known my name either..."
He scratched the back of his neck before looking at you with a smile,
"The name's Semi Eita, thanks for the walk back home,"
Your lips parted a little before in turns into a tooth rotting smile,
"[y/n], no problem and thanks for the company, Eita,"
An arrow pierced through his heart as his face is literally the color of Tendou's hair
And just like that, you left him on the entrance with a funny expression upon his face
Cutting the scene to Semi punching his pillow (rip pillow)
"You already caught me off guard already but you really had to look at me like that...."
Semi's Current Mission!
Try to find you the next day after first period and try not to be awkward with you and his convo after the eventful day
You can do it Eita~!
Yamagata
Let's just say that,
Yamagata went through the late anime girl scenario
But with his toast falling down from his mouth while running towards his school
And his stamina almost running low despite being a volleyball player and a libero
(His house's prolly far from his school, cut him some slacks sheesh)
He's pretty much stumbling a lot when he enters the school and speed walking up the stairs
Some of the students look at him weirdly but that doesn't become his main concern because a strict teacher is going first
Yamagata's almost there, almost reaching his classroom's door
But god had other plans and place an invisible rock in front of him
And as you can tell, he slipped on it and now facepalming the floor
(The sound is so loud my lord)
He groaned, shaking a little while trying to sit up from his position
The male look up and is now face to face with you, who's looking down at him
Okay he might be delusional from the impact but is he actually looking at an angel right now?
"Dude, you okay? That's gotta hurt from the sound that it made—"
Your words drowned inside his mind as he widened his eyes with pink tints decorating his cheeks
'This...THIS IS IT!'
"—also I think your nose is bleed—"
"PLEASE MARRY ME!!"
You flinched at that but keep a calm face, a little bit concerned that he may hit his head too hard
While Yamagata is just having heart eyes for you, sparkles around him after saying those words almost too confidently
He doesn't know what's in him that make him think that you're the one,
But he definitely can feel it
You sighed, crouching down while searching through your pocket and pulling out a small pack of tissues,
"I think we're going so fast right now but no, maybe 5 years later or never,"
"Does that mean you agree??"
"I don't know, you're handsome but also stupid, a himbo I think,"
You wipe away the blood dripping down his nose, taking his arm, opening it and put the bloodied tissue on it before closing it, giving a light tap,
"Now go to the nurse office,"
"Will you be there for me?"
"No,"
You help him stand up, dusting his shoulder and walk away as if nothing happened
Yamagata watches you from the distance with a lovesick smile
Tendou laughed behind him with Ushijima and Reon next to him and Semi looking at Yamagata, confused,
"Hayato, I have no idea if you had your alarm on but you just came to school during recess,"
"She's perfect...also, I think I need to go to the nurse right now cause my head hurts,"
Yamagata's Current Mission!
Marry [y/n]
Have fun, Hayato~!
Reon
(He will have the best love at first sight cause I say so)
It was the school festival and it's lively in every corner of the school, the outside, inside the classrooms, even the hallways
Reon had just finished his part of his classroom and now can walk around to enjoy the festival
Honestly, it's a pretty normal day to him despite being the school's festival
The students of Shiratorizawa has always been this lively so it's good that they can be keep the atmosphere as how it is like any other days
Since the others are still working on their parts, Reon was all by himself
Sure, the quiet sounds without Tendou, Semi and Yamagata is fine but he prefer it being loud anyway
A short of way to fill in the boring silence
But what's the bad thing to enjoy the peace once in a while?
So he take a small walk outside the Shiratorizawa building
Stalls decorated the outside with students busy serving the customers
He was greeted by some of them as he greeted them back with a warm smile
Hands inside his pocket while looking at the sky every few seconds
Baby blue sky with fluffy white clouds, it is the spring afterall
It was at that moment where he turn his head around and caught your eyes
It was something between those few seconds that a lighting strike between the string connecting you two for a second
Reon knew he did from the moment you two clashed with each other so suddenly
It was...not love at first sight exactly,
But rather, familiarity, like,
'Oh, hello, it's you. It's going to be you,'
The staring prolly lasted more than he expected before you snapped out from your thought, shaking your head,
"Sorry! Didn't mean to..." "But you didn't do anything?" He rose an eyebrow, smiling sheepishly and watch your panic slowly dissolves
"Well, technically yeah but It was bad of me to stare off at you like that,"
He chuckled, your heart clenching at that,
"Don't worry, I think I did it too...maybe both of us did,"
"Ah, yeah! Probably..." you fiddled with your fingers, visibly nervous facing him since he's basically a stranger even tho being in the same school,
"Reon Oohira," "Eh?" You look at him with confusion at first, while he just offers you a smile,
"My name, since we have...how to say it, meet each other? And I don't want to make you uncomfortable after all that so I think it's best if we introduce ourselves,"
Your heart's basically beating out loudly that you'll afraid that he'll hear it
But, that doesn't seem so bad, does it?
You mirrored his smile, this time more confidently than before,
"[y/n] [l/n], nice to meet you Reon!"
"Please,"
Reon put his hand onto your head, "Just call me Hira,"
You fainted
"She's interesting, I love her,"
Reon's Current Mission!
Get to know you better and honestly, there's nothing else to do after that other than asking you out
You'll do great, Oohira~!

The fall of the Baegyum Dynasty was imminent. Sangyu and his Insurgents from the Clans of the Mountains, known enemies of the royal family, have attacked the Sacred City of Ilsan, once the capital of an empire, now was reduced to ashes. And you have only one mission: to protect with your life the princess and heir to a broken realm. In your way to the neighboring kingdom in search of protection, you find yourselves in Yerin Woodland, territory of werewolves —ancient enemies of the Baegyum Dynasty who would gladly kill an Ilsan priestess like you.

previous. // next.
You'd never forget the first time you put the Cornerstone on. You were six years old and the jewel was as big as the palm of your little shaky hand.
No one truly believed that you would survive the Junction; not all the priestesses selected by the Patriarch of Ilsan were successful in it. In fact, only one out of every five who subjected themselves to the process made it out alive.
But when they did, they did it large. The title of High Priestess of Ilsan was the highest honor a woman outside the royal family could aim to. Her position was even higher than the Patriarch's, head of the Ecclesia. The High Priestess was worshiped and respected as a goddess. In fact, it could almost be said that she was, since her position in Rowan Empire's hierarchy was none other than to be the intermediary between the Moon, the Great Goddess, and the mere mortals of the human world.
Once a priestess was linked to the Cornerstone, her soul was attached for life to the border between the physical world and the astral world, between life and death, between the sleep and the wakefulness. There, she could hear the wishes of the Goddess.
The Junction itself was a very delicate and genuinely dangerous moment. For such a young girl, the process was like condemning her to death, but the Patriarch had no choice. You were the only priestess left in the city, and there must always be a High Priestess protecting the Sacred City. The day you passed the Junction, you occupied the place that should have belonged to one of your Sumas —seasoned priestesses, who had already pronounced their vows and were in charge of the Novices like you— you barely had six years of age by then and you were the first child known to survive the Junction.
Since then, everyone began to worship you as if you were the miracle that promised peace and tranquility after one of the worst episodes in recent history which would remain in the Rowan Empire's memory forever. However, that had only been the beginning of the end.
The moment the Cornerstone accepted you, you knew that from then on you could never live without it. The bond between the medallion and its bearer was symbiotic: an exchange of power, a constant flow.
It was synergy in its purest form.
Many heretics compared it to the mating bond of werewolves, calling you monsters like they were.
The connection you shared with the Cornerstone was what allowed you to transport yourself to the astral dimension, beyond the earthly dimension. The astral world. That was what allowed you to perceive the aura of everything around you –those strands of light that connected everything that had life, everything that had energy.
You haven't taken it off since then. Doing so would be like ripping out your lung, or your heart.
And so when you woke up, your eyes opening wide, the first thing you felt was the sensation of emptiness pulling at your gut, so hard you would have screamed if your throat wasn't as dry as the deserts of Vinland.
You tried to bring your hands to your chest, searching for the Cornerstone, but your limbs did not respond. Even though you already knew: you didn't have it with you. Someone had taken it from you.
You gasped, trying to find the air you were missing, and your fingers closed around what seemed to be soft white blankets. Black dots clouding your vision for a few minutes. Your eyes squeezed shut. Inside you, a whirlwind of negative feelings was unleashing; weakness, fear, despair, pain. Emptiness. That was the worst.
Immense and desolate emptiness.
You don't know how long you were like that, it could have been just a few minutes, a few seconds; or maybe it had been hours, days. You couldn't tell. But when you got used to the terrible feeling of not wearing the Cornerstone, you dared to open your eyes again, blinking to get used to the light.
In front of you was a light-colored wood paneled ceiling. You mustered the necessary strength and turned your head, cracking the bones in your neck. That made clear what you were already beginning to suspect: you had been in that position for a long time, which meant that you had been unconscious for a long time. To your right there was a small table with a jug of water, a crystal glass, and a candelabrum with three half-burned candles. Nothing else. The bed you were lying on had barriers on the sides and you soon found out, your heart skipping a beat, that your wrists were handcuffed to them. You swallowed hard as you shook your hands —which was a truly titanic effort— realizing that you were indeed completely immobilized.
Your eyes, by then more awake than ever, scanned the room. It was a square room, with four walls lined with dark green wallpaper. There was a door in the wall to your left and on the right, a small window hidden by curtains, even so, you easily supposed that it was nighttime since the only source of light you had at that moment were the candles on the table.
You shifted a little as much as the handcuffs allowed you to do so, just enough to sit up and lean your back against the headboard. Your clothes had been changed, replacing the furs and your priestess attire with some kind of nightgown. It was at that moment that a familiar stabbing pain shook your left leg. You let out a hiss, gritting your teeth and closing your eyes tightly. Your fingers reached for the blanket and pulled it aside to let you see what was happening down there.
And as you saw your bandaged thigh, with a large red stain in the center of it and the surrounding skin bruised and swollen, the memories hit you like a herd of wild horses from the Yugseon steppes. The smoke, the deaths, Ilsan on fire, the flight, the snow, the forest, the chase.
Hana.
The werewolves.
Your first instinct was nothing more than trying to haul your ass out of wherever you were.
As if moved by a spring, you tried to get up suddenly, forgetting that you were chained to the bed. The tug threw you back onto the mattress, and you simply laid there, breathing heavily, your eyes fixed on the ceiling panels. Your leg throbbing with pain; you had probably just opened the stitches they had put on. But you didn't really care. Your mind was working so fast that your thoughts and ideas crossed each other, becoming a mess.
The thing was that they had healed your wound and put you to safety somewhere. An despite the fact you were handcuffed, it gave you hope. They wanted to keep you alive, with what purpose? Well, you'd probably find out when they knew you were awake. It was very likely that they were eager to know what the actual hell were you doing there. It was fair though, with you barging into their territory after years of enmity, with one leg pierced by an arrow, while you fled in terror from a group of screaming angry guys.
The ones you killed with a medallion, by the way.
You shook your head, focusing again on the recap of the facts, on what was truly important. You had to get out of there however it was and reach the kingdom across the border of Yerin Woodland. Only there you would have a chance to survive. Besides, the fact that they had kept you alive until then didn't guarantee they would continue to do so. Not in the least. That brought you to the ultimate question: where did they keep Hana and what had they done with her? Among the fuzzy and blurred memories which were starting to fill your mind you could remember that Namjoon, apparently one of the bosses, had promised that Hana would be safe.
But you didn't trust that either. Why would anyone promise you anything? You were enemies. Antagonists. Adversaries. Since like forever. And even though at first you hated each other because that's what your races always did, it had eventually become personal.
And yet, there was still another question in the air. The one that was consuming you, the one that turned your guts. The one that was starting to infuriate you.
Where was the Cornerstone?
The sound of footsteps approaching the other side of the door made you lift your head from the mattress, your eyes wide. Your instinct led you to ignore the dull ache in your leg, whose bandages were again soaked in blood from the open wound, and to reposition yourself as when you had woken up, struggling more than necessary with the handcuffs to cover yourself with the blanket again.
You turned your head towards the wall to the right, opposite the door, just in time for the door to slowly open with a slight squeak. For a couple of seconds, everything was silent, your eyes closed tightly even though you were showing your back to whoever it was. Finally that person sighed, and you discovered that it was a man, he fully entered the room and closed the door behind him.
You suppressed the urge to shake his hands off you when he uncovered you, gently parting the covers to reveal your legs. You did your best to hide your panic and stay still, heart race sped up instantly. The stranger clicked his tongue in disgust and you felt his fingers touching attentively over the blood-soaked bandages.
“Jimin-ah!” His claim startled you, and you thought for a moment that he had discovered that you were awake, but apparently he wasn't looking your way because your flinch didn't seem to disturb him.
After a few moments, a second person burst into the room, preceded by short and quick steps you found inevitably cute.
“Hyung?” Asked a soft and delicate voice in return, which belonged to who you assumed was Jimin.
“Go to the House of Healing and get needles and stitches for sewing,” The first person answered, with a hint of concern in his voice. “And some clean blankets; these are totally mesed up.”
Jimin entered the room taking two hesitant steps as he said: “Why? Has the wound reopened? How?”
“I honestly have no idea, but hurry up, she already lost a lot of blood last night.”
“Right away.”
“Yah! Jimin, bring the medallion and leave it in my studio when you come back. I want to take a look at it again when I'm done with her.”
The youngest left the room without a word, taking with him his hasty and short steps. That last statement made your heart skip a beat. Well, you were sure that the medallion he was talking about was the Cornerstone. Were they studying it? Why? Were they trying to make it work? If that was the case, then you were deeply thankful that they didn't know how the bond worked. And you expected it to continue like that, because as long as you were alive, no one else could master the Cornerstone. Or maybe they were aware of that detail, and that's why they kept you alive. But what did they want the power of the Cortnerstone for?
You hated unanswered gibberish.
The other man sighed again as you felt his fingers wrap around your left wrist. It took you a few moments to find out, not without almost jumping for joy at your place, that he was taking off the handcuffs. You sensed his presence coming around the bed to free your other hand, and in those few seconds it took him to do it, your brain drew a plan that surprised even you, but you didn't have time to think better of it either.
When you heard the metallic click of the handcuff opening, your other hand came up hard into a fist. You opened your eyes just in time to locate where his face was so you could hit the blow. He was one of the most beautiful people you had ever seen —harmonious and symmetrical features, full lips, and skin apparently so smooth it looked like porcelain. Despite the fact that in a normal situation, you’d have been stunned looking at him, the beauty of werewolves no longer surprised you since you had met four of them the other night. Briefly, you saw in him an expression of genuine surprise when his eyes met yours.
An instant later, your knuckles slammed into his jaw, throwing back his head vehemently. The young man gave you a pained groan, staggering backwards, trying to regain the balance that you had taken from him. Finally, he ended up on his ass on the floor.
You wasted no time, and jumped out of bed as soon as you got rid of the blankets, tangled around your legs.
“Yah! Don't move, the wound-
The man tried to warn you, still on the floor, with one hand caressing the place where you had hit him. But you no longer heard what he was saying, because you left the room as fast as if the Insurgents were chasing you again. The pain that jerked in your limb every time you took a stride threatened to make you see the stars, and you knew you were limping, you knew you weren't running as fast as you could.
You wouldn't get far that way, but you had to try. First of all, you had to find the Cornerstone, and then Hana. How were you going to do it? Well, you still had not given much thought to that part of the plan.
Not to say you didn't have any.
You traversed a long corridor lined with soft sand-colored carpet, and the walls of an elegant maroon color. In the middle of the hallway, there was a glass cabinet with ancient ceramic pieces, and some kind of armor decorating a corner. You didn't pay too much attention to the decorations either, since you were too busy trying to move in a straight line.
You threw yourself down the stairs unceremoniously, leaning your whole body on the wooden railing that creaked under your weight. You were leaving a trail of blood behind.
Crimson liquid running down your leg copiously. Soon you would begin to feel the first symptoms of exsanguination, added to the weakness you were dragging since the moment you found yourself without the medallion for the first time in fifteen years of short and miserable life.
When had that seemed like a good idea to you? To say you were fucked would be an understatement. But there was no turning back.
That was the only chance you would have to escape from that place, wherever you were. The stairs led you to a wide hallway with two doors on each side, and a little further on, it opened into a huge living room with a burning fireplace that illuminated the entire lower floor with a warm orange light. There were also lit chandeliers along the corridor. You came to the conclusion that the studio the man was referring to when he asked his partner to bring the Cornerstone could be one of those rooms, but Jimin was nowhere to be seen, which meant he hadn't brought the jewel yet.
Well. You would have to find that Jimin guy yourself, even if you didn't know how he looked like. Improvisation: that was your strong point.
You ran as best you could for the door across the hall and the living room. You didn't try to be silent, why would you? You could already hear the hurried footsteps upstairs and the calls of the man you had managed to knock down with a punch. The fuss would draw someone's attention sooner rather than later.
Someone like Namjoon, or Jungkook, or Hoseok. You didn't want to face them again.
You reached out to take the knob of the door, the first obstacle that stood in the middle of your way to freedom. But you didn't get to do it. Someone opened the door suddenly, and you collided hopelessly with the person who was about to enter the cabin, not being able to stop your pace in time.
You bumped into someone's chest and that person fell backwards with an exclamation of surprise. When you came to your senses again, you were lying on a young man a little older than you, with silvery and fluffy hair, a sharp jaw and cute eyes, and he was looking at you with fright chiselled on his beautiful face.
He had dropped a bunch of blankets and a small wooden box with a silver chain sticking out. You felt a pull in your gut so strong it tore the air out of your lungs, and you threw yourself on the jewel like a predator on its prey, eagerly, hungry, as if it were the air you needed to breathe, and you were suffocating. The young man, who you presumably identified as Jimin, tried to stop you, but it was too late. When you hung the Cornerstone around your neck, a pulse of energy was born from your chest and swept the clearing which multitude of wooden cabins of different sizes were scattered in.
The wave sent the young man on his butt to the ground, and that time he seemed totally terrified, perhaps realizing the mistake he had made letting you retrieve the jewel. You, on the other hand, fell to your knees on the snow, overwhelmed by the amount of power that hit you like a torrent once you regained the link with the Cornerstone. It was painful, but so pleasant that you almost thought you would cry.
Your gaze, cloudy. Your irises had turned white. The blue moon was full over you: it was the moment of the Zenith. That night of each month that renewed your energies, that strengthened your bond with the astral world. What a nice coincidence.
It had been a long time since you had so much energy and power at your disposal, and for a moment you forgot your injured leg and the physical weakness you’d been carrying since the day you left Ilsan. You felt powerful for the first time in a long time and holy fuck, how addicting that feeling was. Even the look of terror in Jimin's eyes and in those of the man you hit, who had just emerged from the cabin, you found that pleasant.
Other people began to crowd around your frame, at a safe distance, watching you warily, wondering who the hell you were and what it was that had just hit them like a blast of air so warm that it deprived them of the air in their lungs for a second. It seemed that your existence was a secret for the rest of the pack, a factor you took advantage of. No one attempted to get close to you, they were too scared of your appearance. Your eyes, blazing white and threatening, scanned the crowd until you found her.
Hana, holding the hand of a curly black haired young man, locks partially hiding his eyes. The princess wore new clothes and a little flower crown on her head, as well as a rag doll in her free hand, which she soon dropped to the ground when she recognized you. The man's jaw was clenched, as was the little princess's hand, trying to free herself to reach you.
That infuriated you, how did he dare to lay a hand on Hana? How did he dare to take her away from you? And another pulse shook you up and down. You were the epicenter of a second wave that threw back all those who had formed a wide circle around you.
Except for Hana. She remained standing, with both of her arms forming a cross in front of her face to cover herself. She looked up, and when she found herself released from the man's grip, she ran towards the center of the circle, her arms stretched out to you and thick tears streaming down her lids.
“Eonnie!” She cried out, when you embraced her in a warm hug, still kneeling on the snow.
You pressed her against you, letting out a sigh of relief that you didn't know you had been holding. And when you held her like that, in your arms, close to you, as you had done since she was born, it took a load of your mind.
She was alive. She was okay. And she was with you.
The lump in your throat unraveled and you began to cry, lulling the girl with you, stroking her hair, drying her tears with your thumbs.
“Who the hell let her out of the house?” Asked a voice you knew too well for your own good.
You raised an angry look at Hoseok, who was standing next to Jimin, while Jungkook helped him up off the ground. Namjoon and Yoongi were there too, looking at you with a seriousness that would have made you feel intimidated if you weren't as blinded by your own power as you were.
You wanted to make them regret treating you like a monster. You wanted to finish what they had started the day the Ecclesia was slaughtered.
But you were tired of that unnecessary ancient enmity. You didn't want to have anything to do with them. That is why you stood still, pressing Hana against you, trying to shield her from anyone who tried to take her away. You could do it, you could get them out of the way and run away with the girl. The energy rush that the Cornerstone had just given you would allow you to even carry the princess to the border.
However, you saw, not without feeling the panic destroying the selftrust the Cornerstone had just given to you, that it was beginning to dawn. Your Zenith time was running out, so soon your powers would return to their normal levels. To its latent state. Even if you managed to escape, once the Zenith was over, the consequences of putting your body to the limit like that, while being injured, would probably end you. You didn't care, anyway, your only vital purpose was to get Hana to safety.
It wasn't viable, not at the time. The Cornerstone also had no effect on the Alphas. And even if it did, too many people would come after you, and you could deal with humans armed with heavy weapons, and but you definitely couldn’t with a pack of angry werewolves.
“Everyone, back off.” Namjoon's order came loud and clear. Nobody even made a gesture to disobey their Alpha, distancing themselves and making wider the circle around you. “Hippei, you stay. The rest, get out of here. Now.”
Again, no one objected. Only a dozen hostile-looking men and women remained. The Hippei of the pack. They were Betas dedicated to fighting and hunting. You internally thanked yourself for learning the customs and hierarchy of werewolves when you were a Novice. Even though you still didn't understand how there could be two Alphas  —Namjoon and Jungkook, leading one single pack.
The Patriarch always said that you had to know your friends, but even more so your enemies. How ironic it seemed everything he had taught you at the time.
“Get out of my way and I won't kill you,” You mumbled, trying to stay calm, but you couldn't help the quivering in your voice.
They seemed to notice your growing weakness, because after exchanging some meaningful glances with the Hunters, they all began to close the circle around you. The white of your irises beginning to fade as the sky cleared on the horizon. Your heart began to pound violently in your chest. You were suddenly aware of the wound on your thigh and choked on air when you saw you had lost so much blood that the snow you were kneeling on was puddled in red. You tightened your embrace around Hana.
“We don't want anything to do with you. We will never cross each other again, or enter your-
“You should have thought of that before making this fucking fuss” Namjoon spat, walking slowly in front of you. It was the first time you heard him lose his cool.
Jungkook, next to him, nodded and tilted his head as he looked you up and down, perhaps wondering how someone so seemingly weak and unstable would have been able to knock their entire pack in the blink of an eye.
“You have information we need, so choose wisely what you are going to do from now on-
“You told me you wouldn't hurt her!” Hana yelled, as she got rid of your arms and stood up, facing them, protecting you.
You tried to stop her, but when you wanted to move your legs, a hiss of pain escaped your lips and you leaned with both arms on the floor. The pulse of energy was depleting, and you had lost any chance of escape you might have had.
“You liars! You promised me Eonnie would be fine!” The princess spoke loudly, between hiccups and sobs.
Hana had never raised her voice to anyone; she had never had a tantrum; she had never dared to speak to an adult like that. Not even her mother. The fact that she did it for you broke your heart. You raised a hand to tug at the sleeve of her dress.
“Hana, don't-
She ignored you and jerked your hand off again and pointed at Namjoon and Jungkook with her shaking index finger. The circle had closed so much you could almost touch the werewolves' legs if you stretched an arm out.
“Eonnie is dying! She is dying and it´s your f-fault!” Hana reached the peak of her rage and raised her small fists to hit the belly of the man who was holding her hand when you left the cabin. “S-she is dying! She is dying like mom and dad! Liars! Liars!”
A deathly silence fell over the adults, only filled by the uncontrolled sobs of the princess. Namjoon and Jungkook looked at each other and then looked at the young man who was enduring Hana's punches as if someone was hitting him with a feather. There was some kind of communication between them that you didn’t understand, because of course, you weren’t a werewolf, nor did you belong to their pack.
“Get the kid out of here, Taehyung,” Namjoon asked softly. “Jimin, go with them, make sure she calms down.”
Taehyung obeyed with a simple nod and bent down to take Hana into his arms and lift her up. She stirred furiously.
“No! Don't take her away!” You yelled, trying to get up. Your injured leg failed you and you fell painfully to the ground again.
Someone stepped forward, bending quickly to grab you by the arms before you could pathetically kiss the ground. When you raised your gaze, Jungkook, too close for your sake, was giving you a hard-to-decipher look. Over his shoulder, you saw Jimin walk away with Taehyung, who was carrying Hana in his arms, while he whispered sweet words to her in order to calm her down.
Your eyes unintentionally frantically searching for Namjoon's and Jungkook's when you saw her go away from you again. You then gripped tightly the furs that enveloped Jungkook’s frame, trying to appeal to his sense of humanity.
You didn't really know if werewolves had that.
“Please, she's just a child-
“No one's going to hurt Hana, sweetheart.” Namjoon assured, again, as he crouched down next to you and Jungkook. You tried not to react to the petname, which sounded more like a threat. “As long as you collaborate with us, huh? Will you do that for me?”
Before you could answer, he ripped the Cornerstone from your neck. It was a dry tug, though not a strong one. It wasn’t necessary. The chain snapped cleanly and the ends slid down your collarbones as the Alpha pulled the medallion away from you.
You gasped like a fish out of water, as if you had been punched in the stomach. Namjoon got up, admiring the jewel between his fingers, and turned to leave without giving you a second glance. Hoseok and Yoongi gave you a murderous look before following the Alpha. Jungkook clenched his jaw and averted his gaze toward the entrance of the house, where the young man who was taking care of your injuries was standing and whose jaw was beginning to swell and bruise.
“Jin hyung, prepare whatever you need to heal her,” He requested, pointing to the house with his chin.
Jin, that was his name. He scratched the back of his head nervously. Maybe he felt guilty, he was the one in charge of watching over you, and he had let you escape.
“Alpha Jeon, I-
“It doesn't matter,” Jungkook cut him off, shaking his head slightly. His tone was calm, even though he was hiding a hint of fatigue. “We'll talk later. Do what I said, and put ice on your jaw.”
Jin nodded, pursing his lips and turned to enter the house. The door slammed shut behind him. Jungkook sighed and pulled you to your feet, despite the whine of pain you let out when you fully stretched your leg. The werewolf looked at your limb with a frown; there was a lot of blood. So much that you both wondered how you were still alive. How you could manage to stay conscious.
You knew the answer, anyway. If not for the Zenith, you would probably be more dead than alive by exsanguination by then. You guessed that would become one of the many questions they were going to ask you from then on. Perhaps that was what led you to ask, in a tiny voice that almost didn't sound like yours.
“What do you want from me?” Jungkook looked at you for a second, raising his eyebrows. When you looked back at him, he looked away, growling under his breath.
He put your arm around his shoulders and forced you to walk with him towards the cabin. You tried to keep up and tried your luck again, attemtping to sound more convinced, with more determination.
“Why are you keeping us? I've already told you that all I want is-
“Spare me the questions, priestess,” he cut you off, coldly. It almost sounded like a warning. “We are in charge here and now, we ask the questions.”

plane pillow
where peter planned to play video games with ned through the whole flight but fate decided to take another turn....
*A/N: this isnt related to far from home nor the ending of endgame, just pretend infinity and all the movies after didnt exist since i imagine pete 16 in here. i dont know why 16 i just like that age on him lmao, enjoy reading!*
pairing: peter x reader
status: strangerz (well sort of since they haven't talked to eachother but they're in the same school)
NOT PROOF READ BTW SO SORRY IF THERE ARE ANY MISTAKES
peter's POV
"the flight will be amazing! i heard they'd installed the new game we were talking about" i gushed to ned, excited for the whole flight to be filled with video games.
"im excited" ned stated practically jumping from excitement and i shook my head laughing
"OK CLASS!" Mr Harrington clapped his hands getting our attention "we're boarding the plane in a few minutes so pack your stuff and lets goooo" he pointed at our gate dramatically.
we walked to the gate, scanned our ticket and sat on our assigned seats, ned and i sat on the three seater, he took the window seat by winning a 3 round match of rock, paper, scissors *sighs angrily* and i obvious got the middle, kinda scared of who'll sit beside me though.
we had to wait for a few minutes, since we boarded the flight early. ned and i obviously started playing video games, too entranced by the small glowing screen infront of me i haven't realized a girl.
she hadn't really acknowledged me either because she looked tired, i cursed at the screen for losing the game too quickly and my dumb ass still didnt realize a GIRL, MY AGE, looking PRETTY FUCKING ADORABLE was sitting next to me. oh dear god.
after a couple more games and me being the most idiotic teenager known today for not looking at my right to see her  the flight attendant alerted us that the plane will take off so we the screen will freeze any moment. ned and i decided to sleep, it was very early in the morning and we need to rest if we plan on gaming most of the flight.
i closed my eyes and shifted a bit in my seat, and slept. the plain was moving at the time trying to find the best place to take off. i guess i was really tired that i havent felt someone sleeping on my shoulder.
i was peacefully sleeping still agitated from the uncomfortable seat but i heard a loud noise that frightened the life out of me and due to my spidey senses i sensed a hand on my right, so what did i do? i fucking held the hand. hard, may i add, from the fright.
i opened my eyes quickly and jumped a bit, turning around to see who's the stranger that i held hands with, startled as well. i sighed in relief knowing our plane was safe and it was just about to take off. but then i took a good look on the perso- her, took a good look on her, on her? OH MY GOD ITS A GIRL calm down peter and please dont scare her off. i couldnt stop looking at her and to my luck she was looking at me as well, but none of us spoke
i couldnt help but notice the small part of her y/h/c hair that was shown from her hood looked so shiny and smooth, her eyes were the most perfect shade of y/e/c. the extremely large hoodie looked so comfortable on her which made me think of her wearing one of mine, how big and long it'll look on her body sent butterflies to my stomach. she looked small, and precious so fragile yet she held her body confidently.
the voice of the flight attendant echoed through the speakers which made us both stop our trance of one another. even though the lady's voice wasnt scary it still frightened us. i mean no hate towards miss attendant she called me a cutie and gave me extra blankets
but coz we got startled again we held hands....again looking for the sources of the noise. we visibly relaxed once we realized what it was, looked at eachother and laughed, her laugh was angelic and soft, hands down the best sound ive ever head. she looked rather embarrassed from the encounter but i bet you a thousand dollars i look worse, i could practically feel the blood rush through my cheeks once she realized how long ive stared at her
"i- uhm i-im so sorry for sleeping on your shoulder, and- and holding your hand and stuff" she apologized, it only made me even more baffled by her. how could a voice match with a face so perfectly.
"no no its fine uhh i dont mind *nervous laugh* and for the hand thing i was the one who grabbed yours so i-i should be the one apologizing...im sorry" i rubbed the back of my neck. this is why i dont talk to girls, ever. well mj is an exception since shes like the closest thing i have to a friend other than my best friend obviously.
"i-im y/n, by the way" she lifted her hand properly introducing herself
"peter, peter parker" i shook her hand, it was nice feeling the warmth of her hand again. we probably held hands (for the third time today by the way) longer the we should have but who am i to say i was bothered. i definitely wasnt.
"nice to meet you peter" she smiled shaking our hands one last time then sitting it on her lap. scratch what i said about her gorgeous laugh, hearing her say my name was the best thing ive heard in my 16 year of existence. (her laugh is obviously the second best)
before i could ask anything else, the plane decided to finally take off. i adjusted myself to the seat, not turning to my right side anymore and closed my eyes trying to think of smiling puppies. ive been on a plane before, in fact a private one last year but that was it. this is my second time flying away from new york and i was a bit nervous.
y/n somehow noticed my sudden tense form, who am i kidding i looked like i was about to die coz of my nerves. and held my hand. and i immediately opened my eyes again, the feeling of her skin coming in contact with mine brought chills down my spine, good ones obviously
"you looked rather tense, is this ok?" she leaned into my ear so i could hear her. i looked at her confused on why she would want to help me but nodded as a reply. a smile crept on my face and i couldnt seem to take it off.  the take off went smoothly thank god. and ive occasionally squeezed her hand, usually when the plane made very loud sounds. but i made it! woohoo
i didnt know if i should stop holding her hand or not, even though i didnt want to. will she think im a creep? and if i did, will she think im rude? but i guess it didnt seem to bother her if she went back to sleeping. so i figured i should do the same
i shifted in my seat a couple of times trying to get the perfect comfy spot....nothing. this seat will be the death of m-
"you can sleep on my shoulder if you want" she whispered. "i figured since you let me sleep on yours which im very sorry about, you could sleep on mine" she smiled
"thanks, but i dont wanna bother you or make you uncomfortable"
"oh nonsense! my body is screaming right now cheering for me, well partially scolding at me for saying something risky like that to a good looking guy, its ok" she laughed, her eyes widened in shock from what she confessed. i smiled at her and rested my head on her shoulder
"you think im good looking?" i whispered playing with our fingers, i dont know when i got the sudden confidence but hearing someone like her think a loser like me is cute did something to me.
"shut up" she playfully shoved me and i laughed.
"are you from midtown?" i asked her
"no im from queens" she joked
"oh you're definitely from midtown" i chuckled, next thing i know i was having a normal conversation with me laying my head on a girl i just met like we knew eachother for years, it was nice to talk to a girl i potentially thought was cute instead of talking gibberish
she was very understanding and looked like interested into what i was saying, i was gonna skip my geeky side when she asked about what i like but to my surprise, she mentioned it when i asked her the same, she said she loves comics and likes watching sci fi movies. i asked her if she watched star wars and she said she didnt...yet.
"wanna uhm watch it together?" i played with her fingers absentmindedly nervous if she'd reject me.
"yeah sure" her eyes lit up like she was waiting for me to ask her that. we watched the movie in bliss, thankfully she liked it! and immediately said to put the second one. and surprise surprise, we finished it.
when the credits rolled in, i saw her yawning, shifting in her seat again, i decided to be bold so i lifted her head off my shoulder pulled the arm rest away from us, took a pillow and patted my lap. immediately after doing it i regretted it, she barely knows me, what the fuck peter.
"you sure?" she asked smiling a bit, she looked like she felt something giddy inside which made me feel at peace again and i nodded.
"good night" she whispered snuggling her head on my lap, i hesitantly put my arm over
"good night, y/n" and we fell asleep like how ned slept the whooole time i was talking to her, wow we have a lot to catch up on
bonus:
peters pov
i didnt know the whole plane (our class) practically gushed over my interaction with y/n, i know its been a while since i liked a girl but betty and the rest (including Mr Harrington) practically begged mj to take photos of us since she was the closest, not that she wouldnt have done it without them asking her....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*A/N: idk what this bonus was lmao but i had to add the school feeling happy for our boy pete*
have a wonderful morning/afternoon/evening/night!

Hey universe! It's been too long.
I know!
Anyway, we haven't had a real talk in a very long time. And as I feel like I'm approaching a new journey, I feel like it's time for me to really really try again on this, we really need to talk.
First of all, my life's great. Everything's been great, I'm having the best growth I've ever felt, I'm having the best self development, I'm having more confident, I'm loving myself so much more, I think I'm giving my current state as the best version of me from the 25 years I have lived on. My life's great, my work is great, I'm having a great circle of friends (yes, IBW, that's you, and RJ!) I couldn't be more grateful for what you have kindly given me. I am thankful!
It's been 8 years after J chapter. It's been 1 year after T chapter. Both had given me an exciting period of time(s) and both had left, without an explanation. I've mend myself. I've forgive myself for whatever I punished myself into. I have accepted all the emotional turbulence I felt, I have accepted the pain I felt and the love I gave out. I have made peace with myself for all those pain, traumas, and love.
Now, it's a brand new me. For after what I've been through, I chose to learn how to live my life more, to love my life more, to have more fun. And I do! I do now have a series of number of fun🙂 I experienced things more than ever WHILE still keeping it within boundaries. (Shout out to E, R, and A lmao you guys) I still have my fun, I do, I don't regret a thing.
So, I'm afraid I'm approaching a moment where it's involving a matter of heart, my heart. And I'm afraid that I'm feeling too fast, concluding things too quick. With what I've been through in previous (pre)relationship, I can also feel that I (surprisingly) still got the anxiousness from the "accident" that happened with J and T; the ghosting HAHAHAHA. I'm not gonna lie, yes, I am feeling anxious. For every plan I made, I feel like I'm on a timer waiting for the bomb to go off. This guy, I just met him once, we haven't even talked for a full month, but judging on our first met, I really enjoyed his company... I'm not a people person, I rarely can ~vibe~ with people, and quite sure I have a good gut feeling. And I can sense that I get along really well with this guy, feel like I've known him before our first glance. There were no awkwardness. I can feel the intensity, the similar kind that I felt when I first met T. I feel like I can talk almost about everything to him and I just... trust him just like with J.
And this is where the problem starts.
I have fears.
I fear that I will grow feelings.
I fear that my own fear stop me from having a good time which I deserve to have one!
I fear that this will only hurt him because I am not capable of love.
I fear that this is only my fantasy.
I fear to get hurt.
I fear love.
Universe,
I have grown. I have put myself first and foremost for quite some times now and I have love myself more, more than I've ever been. I have become a better person, I think. I have always been trying to give my best and be my best to me and everyone else. I have suffer and I have made peace with myself. I have accepted my pain, the love that I gave to the person that left me hanging, the efforts I've been putting. I have come to terms with the fact that I love, hard, on people I care about, and that's okay. I have come to terms that it's okay to get hurt!
So now I'm just asking you, please, let me enjoy this for some time, please let me have a good time? I deserve to have a good time. I deserve to love, to be loved, to have love.
Don't you think it's time? I might ready to take on another lesson.
So universe, would you please this time...let me enjoy what love feels like, again?

I let out a low groan, attempting to stretch out my arms and legs. But when I touched Koshi's, I remember that we were latched onto each other. Throughout the night, I hadn't imagined that sleeping with him would be so peaceful. His gentle hands holding me against him, the way a simple hum would run vibrations throughout his chest, and best of all: being able to look at such a lovely face to wake up to.
He pays my back gently, followed by his gentle voice. "Y/n? Are you awake?"
I open my eyes slightly to peek at him. A very bright sun ray showered his grey hair and fair skin. "Hm? Yes, I am now." Shoving my face back into his chest, I sigh. "What time is it?"
"It's ten. I'm sorry for waking you, but Isao is wondering if you want breakfast," Koshi explains briefly.
I blink a few times to refresh my mind, nodding slightly. Was his brother serious about making our food? That was something I hadn't experienced in a while. I usually made things for myself or ate leftovers for breakfast.
After Koshi dismisses his little brother, he proceeded to pat my back as if I were falling back asleep. "How did you sleep? I hope I wasn't bothering you all night," he asks me.
"Pretty good. I was very comfortable." A smile appeared on my face without any effort. I trail my fingers across his collarbone under his t-shirt, thankful that my first night with Koshi was as calming as sleeping through the rain. "What about you?"
I was hoping that I hadn't kicked him or done something embarrassing while I was asleep. The risk was a high percentage, especially since I'd spent the night mostly laying on his chest.
But Koshi didn't say much. He only gave me a very warning smile and tightened his hands upon my waist, maneuvering closer towards me. Curious yet scared of what he would do, I grew frantic, feeling my face heat up while he did so. And finally, he closed his eyes, brushing his lips against mine, before kissing me gently.
My hands rushed up to his face as my shoulders stiffened. Such a sudden action made my heart beat out of its chest, I was sure he could hear it.
Unfortunately, he ended our kiss after a few seconds, pulling away from me slightly.
"So, I'm guessing that's a yes?" I manage to let out a few words in my tired voice. Koshi nods, sitting up from his spot.
That was the first time I'd woken up in his bed while lying next to him. And boy, did I cherish that moment as if it were impossible to forget.
-
"Good morning, Ms. L/n," Isao chimes as Koshi and I walk into the kitchen with our zombie-like behaviors.
Nonetheless, I smile at the boy, happy to be seeing his familiar face. I was beginning to grow on him and his playful personality. I bow and greet him a good morning as well, before Koshi bumps his hip into mine, laying a hand on my back. "Y/n, you don't have to bow every time you see them." He says to me, making me shoot up to stand straight.
"Uh, sorry! I guess it's just an impulse I do to people," I explain myself, followed by Isao's sweet laughter.
"That's alright! I was just about done," he says, placing a small piece of fish onto a pile of a couple of other pieces. Next to the grill pan was some white rice and a pot of miso soup.
The smell fills my nose and I begin to build up my appetite. "Oh, okay! Would you like me to get started on some tea?" I hurry to the other side of the kitchen and attempt to search for a pot. But of course, Koshi stands there with one in his large hands, grinning at me.
"You're our guest, Ms. L/n! Please, sit." Isao carries the plate of rice and fish to the table, accompanied by a few bowls of miso soup. I hadn't been welcomed with such a normal morning breakfast in so long. Not even my friends' parents treated me like this. But mostly because we were all family to each other.
I could only hope that I didn't look too bad. I had changed into some pajama pants and a smaller shirt so I wouldn't look like a homeless man walking around such a nice house. But freshening up my hair, breath, and face could only do so much. As for Koshi, he still looked as beautiful as ever in the mornings.
I make myself comfortable in the same chair I'd say in the previous night, waiting for Koshi and Isao to join me. After they did, I said my thanks, and we began to eat our breakfast.
To my surprise, Isao wasn't half bad at making food. In fact, it was very delicious. Mostly because I hadn't had such a good breakfast meal in what felt like a million years.
"So!" Isao cleared his throat with a gulp of green tea.
"How did you love birds sleep?"
The boy clapped his hands enthusiastically. The nickname made me cringe on the inside, but I simply chuckled lightly and shrugged my shoulders. "Pretty good. You guys have such a lovely home," I comment, replied with a nod from Isao.
"Yeah, yeah. So your band; are you guys popular and all? Sorry, I know that probably isn't what you might want to talk about, but I'm interested in Koshi's new girlfriend," he says, followed by one of Koshi's passive-aggressive throat clearings.
I eye both of them, smiling awkwardly while swallowing my food. "Uhm, it's okay. We're fairly known by a few people at school and some family. Our discography is small since we mostly produce covers or requests we receive from our amount of fans."
It was obvious that Isao was very excited about having a musician in his house. I was only worried that Koshi would grow tired of talking about music. So, I take the wheel of questions and begin my mission to find out more about his family.
"What about you? Are you interested in any sports or art hobbies?" I ask, wiping my hands on one of the small towelettes he gave me earlier.
Isao nods. "Kind of! I like messing around with the drums now and then. But I mostly did a lot of volleyball back in middle school."
I hadn't thought about how old Isao might have been. Curious, I ask, "wait—how old are you? I didn't know you were in high school."
Little did I know that it wasn't something Koshi and Isao weren't up to talk about that subject, for they glanced at each other with surprised looks. "Uh...I should be starting in-person high school after the summer break. Right now, I've been doing homeschooling."
"Oh..that must be nice!" I attempt to lighten the mood a bit. "Are you excited? You get to experience a lot of new and fun things in high school. I'm positive you'll find something you like. Do you plan on going to Karasuno or...?"
"Yeah, I do. I only wish Koshi could have been a second year so we could be closer together!"
The mentioned man coughs while drinking his tea, wiping it soon after. "Uhm, don't worry. I have a couple of people who'll be looking out for you." I assumed he was talking about the volleyball team. Isao would no doubt fit in with those guys.
"You said that you're going to the states after graduation. Is that true?" The sudden question makes both Koshi and me choke on our rice. The only time that I would ever discuss the matter was with my friends. I was always afraid that talking about it in front of him would cause problems between us.
Noticing I grew uncomfortable, Koshi interrupts with yet another question. "Would you like to come with me to Y/n's concert? It's not much of a concert...more of a competition for bands. But if it's okay with her, I could take you with me. I know we'd both love to see her perform live, right?"
Isao practically jumps at the statement. "Wow—really?! Of course! Can we go, Ms. L/n?" He looks at me with big puppy eyes in excitement. How could I have said no?
Proud, I nod to the boy. "Sure thing. But you've gotta be careful in the crowds. There will be lots of people there."
The rest of breakfast was used as a way for Isao and I to get to know each other. Though they came from the same mother and father, Koshi and he were two very different people. It could have been that they got different types of acknowledgment from their parents, or they coped with their mother in different ways. He sure seemed like a rowdy boy. Very charismatic, curious, and a top-notch smart ass.
Koshi and I helped tidy up the kitchen, he notified us he would be going over to a friend's house. I was only to assume that this friend was like family to him, for Koshi dismissed him as if it were nothing. After that, we decided to begin getting ready for the training camp.

"...are you telling me that she's coming with us?" I look at Daichi with a very serious face, afraid of what he would respond with.
I thought it was flattering that Eclair wanted to spend her afternoons at volleyball practice with the team. But was it appropriate to have her come with us to the weekend training camp?
Daichi sighed. "Well, she did ask Takeda and I beforehand and we didn't have it in us to tell her no. Besides, she is a big help to us. She's been doing a lot more than talk to the second years as of recently. Don't you think you're worrying too much about it? I'm sure she won't make a move on you again, especially now that you've got a girlfriend."
"She doesn't know that, dammit." I cross my arms and sink into my seat. I knew that she wouldn't take the news lightly when she found out. If I were lucky, she would last her entire stay in Japan without knowing.
He sighs again, adjusting himself in the seat. "Koushi, just fall asleep. We'll be there in only an hour."
It didn't hurt me that Daichi didn't want to talk about Eclair. She was draining, after all. I prayed that she wouldn't be causing issues during this weekend. The last thing I needed was another inconvenience.
Instead of sitting with Kiyoko the way she usually did, she had to sit alone. Eclair insisted she take her spot next to Kiyoko, but Y/n didn't want to make a big deal of it.
As the bus began driving off into the evening, I look over to the girl, observing her tired eyes as they wander over the valleys outside. Did she mind being alone? I wasn't sure. All I knew was that I wanted more than anything to sneak over to her seat when no one was looking. To have her head rest nicely on my shoulder.
'Would anyone even notice if I were gone?' I think to myself, checking if my best friend was still awake. Sure enough, he was dozing off against the window, giving me an open spot to sneak up next to her.
Careful not to be noticed by Takeda or any other volleyball members, I crouch over to the seat in front of mine. Y/n looks over in a flash, taking both her earphones out. "Kou, what are you doing? Are you allowed to sit next to me?" She whispers to me before the two of us lock eyes.
"I have no clue, but you look tired," I say to her as she closes her eyes and smiles gently. The orange-colored sunlight showered down on her beautiful features, making my heart melt right there in the moment. Desperate to feel her, I bump her head with my shoulder, offering her a personal pillow. She happily accepts and fits right between my left collar bone, making me beam with joy. I pay close attention to her small flinch when I began to ever so gently squeeze her thigh lovingly. Dear Y/n was finally all mine and no one else's, finally. Of course, I knew she belonged to herself and had personal boundaries that I wouldn't dare cross. She was an independent and reluctant girl after all. But my girl. One I would love forever and ever.

Yes I still added fluff at the end what abt it😾
Ily pls note and comment I read every single comment you guys give me and it makes me seriously so happy
