I feel like disappointment in Biden is baffling to me because he was always a disappointment. He was the asshole who got to ride to power on the coattails of a better man. He told bizarre and repeated lies (despite getting caught at it and his team telling him not to) about having a Welsh coal miner dad when he did not and he stole that story from actual Welsh people. I read a profile of him years back that pointed this out and told the story of the time he straight up ignored good advice from an expert not to plant a certain kind of tree too close together and flew a bunch of them out to plant, at night because he was just too fucking excited about it, and they all died. He’s not a smart man! He’s charismatic ish and lacks principles and as far as I can tell doesn’t really care about abortion rights or a lot of things we’d consider pretty critical to preserving freedom. I sincerely thought he couldn’t become President because there were so many obviously better candidates in the pool. I underestimated the sexism and antisemitism in American politics, and when he became the candidate in 2020 I gritted my teeth and voted for him because the alternative was a man who is not only an idiot but also profoundly dangerous. Trump is not ha-ha crazy, he’s Mussolini crazy. He is not dangerous because he’s stupid, although that doesn’t help; he’s dangerous because he does not care about anyone except himself under any circumstances and if that means he lets the far right push us straight into forced birth for white women and sterilization for women of color he’s going to do that. If that means conversion therapy for queers and death penalty for homosexual acts he’s going to do that. He has literally no limits. If he gets back into power, a whole lot of people are going to die, again. It’s not a hypothetical because it happened the first time and he’s only going to get worse.
I am not, never have been, and never will be a fan of Biden. To pretend that he and Trump are in any way equivalent is wrong at best and another goddamn Russian psy-op at worst. To pretend that a third party candidacy is viable in the US is to completely ignore every election of your lifetime and your parents’ lifetimes, and to further ignore the lesson of Ross Perot.
You cannot save Palestinians by not voting for Biden in November; the best you can do is chip away at his margin, and the worst you can do is see Trump elected so he can decide to do the worst possible thing in ever circumstance. Biden has Palestinian blood on his hands and watching this when we could have had Bernie or Elizabeth Warren instead is maddening. (I would have preferred Hillary to Trump, but I don’t think she’d be any different than Biden here. They’re both old-school politicians.)
I hate everything about this, and I hate that saying “maybe don’t put the man who literally said he would kill his political enemies in power” is seen as supporting genocide. It’s acknowledging reality. Joe Biden as a person can eat rocks for all I care. I was kind of hoping he’d die sooner in his term so we’d have time to get used to and then vote for President Harris. (Remember when the line was “she’s a cop, don’t vote for her”? Funny how there’s always a reason not to vote for a woman or a person of color or someone you just “don’t like” and can’t put a finger on why except she “seems angry.” Oh does she. How would she not? When Michelle fucking Obama, the picture of grace , STILL got called angry for having the nerve to be a Black woman with an opinion? When Hillary Clinton lost to a man with no political experience to her decades and who openly discussed sexually assaulting women? Would you have voted for President Harris? Or would you let Trump win again because you don’t LIKE her personally and she’s made decisions and statements you disagree with?)
Biden has both less power than his critics give him credit for and more power than his fans give him credit for. He needs to do more to pressure Israel and although it’s a delicate diplomatic situation I’d rather see us fuck up our diplomatic relationship with Israel than watch more Palestinians get murdered for things like “wanting to eat” and “existing.” The line has been crossed, and he doesn’t see it. Because he wasn’t the best person for the job. Because they didn’t get elected, because of sexism/antisemitism/racism. Hell, I have no idea what bootlicker Pete Buttegieg would have done here, but I’d have given him a try. But no. We got Biden and we’re stuck with this reality where you can be as leftist as you want and still have to look at the situation and decide whether you’re comfortable contributing to a Trump victory through inaction. I want socialism—I want every single person on Earth to have clean drinking water, enough safe food, shelter, medical care, and education—and I’m going to vote for Biden, pissy as it makes me, because the only actual alternative is so, so much worse, for me personally as both a woman and a queer, and for everyone in America and the rest of the world who Trump would find reasons to hurt. What do you think the man who openly and repeatedly praises dictators is going to do when those dictators massacre their own people? Yes, we need to care about this genocide now. We also need to care about all of the other people who are at real risk, both at home and abroad. Would a Trump government agree to fund military intervention in Haiti without insisting on it being a colonial exercise in power? Would a Trump government roll back the restrictions on discriminating against transgender patients in healthcare? How would Trump respond if Orban started dragging people into the streets and shooting them en masse? How would Trump respond if China finally went for it and invaded Taiwan? There are more lives at stake here than mine or yours or even those of the Palestinians, who have deserved better for literally decades and are being mass killed in ways that should result in immediate sanctions, a war crimes trial, and the execution of Netanyahu.
The world deserves better from you than complicity in a Trump victory.

The War Came To Me
(I wrote this four years ago to someone I know.  I’m posting it here and now because the situation grew even more dire in those intervening years.  As a courtesy to the original recipient, I’m removing their name and any identifying information, but the message still stands and so do I.)
Why should I believe anything any Republican has to say?  The GOP spits on vets and tells 'em it's mana from heaven. They betray the best interests of their constituents, they do not believe in rule of law except when they can use it as a cudgel against those they dislike, they sold out every value they've ever claimed to possess to prop up this toad as long as it keeps them in power one election, one year, one month, one day, one hour, one second longer.
I remember having a conversation with a Republican several years ago when Trump was peddling his schtick about Obama's birth certificate. This Republican sounded almost gleeful over Trump doing this, making Obama respond to an outrageous racist demand, a demand never made on any other president of the United States.
Boy, do I remember that conversation...
And the poison that Trump spewed into the American political system then, the GOP supported it. Oh, the party used all the mealy-mouthed legalisms -- "Well, I don't know, could be interesting to find out" -- but that was a God damned* racist dog whistle and the GOP knew it and the GOP let Trump blow it as hard as he could.
The GOP let Trump climb on the stage in 2008 as a faux candidate so he could promote The Apprentice; okay, fine, maybe they thought he’d at least going to make a real attempt at securing the nomination.
Nope, just hype.
But then the GOP let him on the stage again knowing he was bogus, because he would stir up the white evangelical base the GOP.
I know these white evangelicals, I grew up among them, I understand their thinking, and while all of them may not be hateful bigots, I'm hard pressed to think of one that isn't a white supremacist.
The Nixon and the GOP made their deal with the devil by catering to that crowd, a complete rejection of everything the Republican party used to stand for.
Then the GOP let Trump on the stage a third time, and this time with alt-right money and white evangelical churches openly supporting him and the Russians dropping their turds, he squeaked by a narrow electoral college win, losing the popular vote by the biggest margin of any candidate who won the presidency.
All this might have been endurable if the GOP put a leash on him and kept him from filling the cabinet with corrupt cronies who systematically looted the country.
But they didn't.
Behavior that would see any Democrat impeached or indicted, they turned a blind eye to. We can literally count the number of Republicans who stood by their principles on the fingers of one hand.
I have skin and bone and blood in the game. Soon-ok never used to get hassled by racists...until Trumo. I have Latino and African-American family members who face an increase in white hostility, gay and transgender friends and acquaintances more anxious about their personal safety than three years ago.
My mother-in-law died from covid early in the pandemic.  For that, I don't blame Trump directly, because even the best efforts to keep a disease out will eventually fail, and once a disease gets inside a community, some people will catch it and among them some die.
But not 63,000 in under 4 weeks, which is when Soon-ok’s mother died isolated in a hospital. She might have caught covid anyway even under the best testing and isolating conditions ala South Korea, but there wouldn’t been another 63,000 deaths in a month’s time (400,000 for the duration of Trump’s presidency).
That's a screw up of several orders of magnitude.
She died alone and frightened and gasping for air.
I'm not forgetting that.
Ever.
So kindly stop telling me to back away from it.  That's not going to happen. The war came to my doorstep; I didn't want it but here it is.

Really think how stupid ya gotta be in politics to look at the wide array of people in this country and go "One person can umbrella all these individuals and their perspectives"
That's republicans for ya, and the fact they keep losing is rather obvious. It's not because of RvW, unfortunately, it's not because of democratic action, however little, it's solely because one party decided to shrink to one person.
That's it. Why vote republican, if not solely for Dump? Seriously there isn't much left with him pulling the border bill while not even in office. Dems got a boost because there's more than the one guy and people can't ideologically vote for R's when it means more Dump. It's also why people don't want to vote for Biden after he came out as Pro-Genocide whole-heartedly as loudly as he possibly could.
Recognize MTG is in fact in office. It's not about anything but Dump. He successfully made politics all about him, you'll get votes associating with him, not republicans, and yet here we are, where He IS the republican party, not cruz, not desantis, not whoever and no one else, they're supporting characters, like a secretary. The only reason Biden is relevant is because he's memed with Dump, far more than he was with Obama.
It's simply a popularity contest, and Dump's out of new seasons until he's in jail. Then the spin offs will happen. Otherwise, everyone else is a politician, Dump still remains a Party. And presently, he ain't winning ever again.
Which is why I say, let's make a third party NOW before republicans get their footing again. Once Dump is gone and R's decide to move on, R's will be back in literally no time at all. It takes ONE fuck up by a democrat president for R's to make a come-back, and you can't deny that, most people won't allow criticism of Dear Leader from either party.
Whether the cages at the border that are still there, the bolstering of police, or being pro-genocide for economic points, there are a LOT of people who aren't voting because neither candidate is remotely good for them. To me, R's speed up our decline, D's just slow it down, and we're past Covid, at worst periods of time in history, and we're just supposed to accept this is the new, still declining, normal?
Vote third party. Most of you aren't gonna vote anyways, so vote third party. A Vast, amount of issues are fixed by pushing R's out, and third party to take second place FAR EASIER than any other period of time before or after.
This election matters alot. In that, if we don't get a third party, we're back to sliding backwards slowly again with this as the new normal until R's come back to speed it up.
We can grow as a country, Biden is Not the future, but a Helpful Stop-Gap as he himself said he was when he ran for Interim President and once again pulled back on that promise. With his genocidal ass running, we're safe from Dump, he has both party's support from R's jumping ship this election but not others. The blue wave is not anything but a trend that can be killed by apathy and time. Time Dems waste substantially.
Use him. Use his safety from R's to make a third fuckin party. Because I Guarantee You This: After Biden, shit gets back to normal, after Dump, R's come back and we're right back where we started with Obama transitioning to Dump. Just this time, it'll be someone dumber than Biden, against someone smarter than Dump. We can't let that happen.
I'm not trying to syphon votes from Genociden Biden, but for those that have lost all hope, trust, or confidence, throw that last sticky note into the wind, vote third party. This is it. There will never be another opportunity for third party to happen again. Even if it fails, if there's enough steam, we can make it eventually. If we put everything into Biden, we're accepting the old norm nobody was happy with, except it's worse and gonna get worse. At least with a third party, we complicate the downward spiral enough for Hope to sometimes uncover. I say it's worth it. If you know someone who's not voting for Biden but hate's Dump, tell em to vote third party AND WHY. Motivate them. Keep people voting.
Voting only doesn't work when it's between 2 bad parties. If you believe that, vote third party. If you don't, convince non-voters to vote third party.

Did a Republican Senator actually have a moment of Sanity? 0_0
Turtle opposing it makes it sound like it isn’t a Trojan Horse, which would be awesome.
I’m cool with giving Republicans the credit for overturning Citizens United if they want to do it. Go GOP. I’ve got an American Flag in here somewheres to raise and wave for anyone to kill Citizens United. I will happily de-partisan for the murder of that evil atrocity that is ruining our country.
I actually was officially registered as an Independent for me entire adulthood until Trump became the Republican nominee for President and I realized that I would never be able to vote Republican in good conscience. I literally didn’t register as a Democrat until 2015-16. I always had this fantasy - since turning 17 and falling in love hate addiction with politics and wanting Ross Perot to be President - of I’ll just vote for the best candidate and not care about party. And then proceeded to prove out every legitimate study that’s ever been done which says whatever way you lean is what you really are and you’re just lying to yourself. But, you know, I COULD have supported and voted for a Republican. In principle. Which was important to me. Never mind that I could, technically, still do that even being registered as a Democrat. Registering Democrat was really nothing but the final acknowledgment that I never would because the Republicans are psychotically evil as a group and, so far as I have been able to tell, pretty much psychotically evil as individuals as well.
No group that would support Trump for President, just on the evidence of what he was like before ascending to political office, can be trusted so long as they allow anyone in their leadership who ever espoused or allowed that support. A group that will support him again after January 6th… honestly, that group should be outlawed.
I would love to be wrong.
The thing I hate most about Republicans (as opposed to what disgusts or morally outrages me, I am talking about personalized hate) is that they turned me into a Democrat.
The Democratic party is far more Conservative and Right Wing than I am. It’s a poor fit for my ideology. What it is for me is pragmatic and practical. Promoting the Democratic party and its goals is the best way for me to accomplish mine. There’s not much glamour or love. I haven’t voted for the Democratic President in their first primary… ever. Even President Obama, who I admit I felt a lot of joy and excitement around his presidency, I actually voted for Biden to be the nominee back then XD. Clinton, like I said, I was in love with Ross Perot. Biden, this last time around, was my third choice in the primaries. My “dream ticket” would be Warren - Sanders at this point. But nothing doing. That’s not happening. There’s the world you want and the world that is. Biden is doing fine. I’ll vote for him again with minimal ennui and be a good little Democrat because the Republican Party is pure evil instead of just a poor fit for what I actually want.
When your choices are: 70% - 90% of what you want with 0% chance of winning, 50% ish of what you want with 50% chance of winning, or 15% - 0% chance of what you want with 50% (or less as the percentage of what I want goes up) chance of winning, the best choice is obvious. It’s just doesn’t feel great.
Again, I would love to be wrong. I would love to be convinced that there’s a practical and reasonable way to get more of what I want and less of what I don’t.
If the Republicans want to sanity up and power down their toxic evil. I’m really cool to reconsider all my stances. Hell, if any Republicans want to be sane and decent human beings, I am happy to cheer them on.
If the American people decide that they want some group to the left of the Democratic Party to be a viable potential that could make the current Democratic Party positions the far right positions in this country, I would be ecstatic and eagerly reregister.
:/
I just don’t trust any of that to happen.
I HOPE that Hawley succeeds in this. I doubt that he will.
Which makes me sad. And Hate Republicans again. Because this SHOULD be a no brainer. Turtle’s position should be obviously evil to anyone looking. But of course it’s not. For exactly the reason I registered Democrat. There’s not even really a way to pretend that the Republican Party has a decent bone left in its body.
Again, I would love to be wrong. Please, Senator Hawley, prove me wrong. I’m honestly happy just that this much has happened. It’s like finding one tiny little ember left in a dead bonfire pit. Just a bit of unexpected warmth in my bitter, cold heart.

How did we get here and how are we going to get out of this mess? (USA, 6/24/22)
That's a big question. But I do have a lot of little answers that lend to answering such a big question without being too reductive.
Our last chance to stop the backsliding into fascism was the vote in 2016. If you could have voted for Hillary Clinton and did literally anything else, this is your fault. Accept it. Breathe. I'll forgive you but you listen to the rest of this and take the advice without arguing about it.
Yeah, Hillary Clinton wasn't a great choice to be presented with, but she wasn't 1. A republican 2. Donald Trump specifically or 3. A Russian asset (which Trump and Stein were and are. Sorry. It was kinda obvious though.)
That Trump was a particular brand of awful does matter in terms of the current climate and the faster acceleration of fascism, but the specific issue we’re dealing with now leads back to the fact any republican won. (The the third party candidates can't win in the USA because of how first past the post voting works. Sorry this is the system, it's math, they're simply spoilers. In first past the post voting your job is to vote for the least worst one of the two frontrunning parties. We don't have alternative voting and I doubt we ever will. You must accept this.)
Because a republican won he got to do two specific things: Put three justices on the supreme court, and screw up royally the 2020 census so that it determined voting districts in favor of republicans. These two things are why things are not going to get better any time soon.
There won't be another census for 8 years and it's very unlikely that it will be carried out the way it's supposed to if republicans are in charge then. Which given the new districts is likely.
And those justices have to basically die before they get replaced. In the meantime they're practically unaccountable outside of impeachment which just isn't going to happen with the current or future congress, which because of the map is going to lean even harder towards republicans than it already did. (Which has to do with land allocation and population locations and a bunch of junk I don't want to get into today.) Anything that might fix issues with the maps will inevitably end up getting waved away by said justices.
In short: The republicans won. It’s over. It’s not going back to “normal”. Everyone else lost.
Because republicans won in 2016 they gained more justices than even they thought they would. Mitch McConnell gave them one through sheer force of ass, one retired because he wanted a republican replacement, and one because RBG didn't have the sense to retire much earlier. They have six justices that are basically kings that can BS whatever they want and the only people who could maybe do something about it won't because... well, a bunch of reasons.
First one being that democrats are not rising to the challenge. They're a mix of not seeing the dangers, not caring, and actively okay with what's been going on. Sure, there's a few AOCs out there who have been on the bullhorn sounding the alarm early and often, but they're not the norm in the democrat establishment. All the establishment really seems to care about is money and their ideals are whatever wins enough votes from centrists. Most of them are rich and insulated from what's been happening to us poors. Except for the Kristen Sinemas and the Joe Manchins who are truly factually republicans in democrat skins (which is a huge part of why the paper thin dem majority in the Senate hasn't done much), most democrats of real influence are absolute short sighted fools and they're either waiting for their checks and retirement or don't get that their days of relevancy are coming to an end.
The second problem is Biden. He's not the worst dem president I've lived through, but he's pretty not great. He's killed a lot of goodwill from the blue wave folks by not keeping several of his promises and being a buddy to cops at a time where most of us have come to understand that cops are a mob legitimized by officials. These are largely problems of his own making, and there's more issues than I'm not listing, but what it boils down to that, at best, his vibe is more about keeping things from getting worse, not about making things better. And at this point in time we needed a president that would do everything in their power to fight the facist creep, not allow it to simmer. And yes, Congress was a bit hamstrug by DINOs and wouldn't pass his legislation, but the lack of executive orders and willingness to name and shame and fight for us is the real problem.
(Gas prices and price of living are not his fault, but that's another story and a reason to break up monopolies and other big businesses. Democrats have not been vocal enough about what's actually been going on I suspect because a lot of them are benefiting from the situation in one way or several. So republicans get to blame them for it when they're just as guilty and more-so. This happens a lot in the USA honestly. Moving on.)
America has a ton of debilitating long standing issues that got us here to today, but when the dust cleared after the 2016 election we had the major movers and shakers that we had to work with. Which means we became doomed to live under this breed of governance for at least the next 50 years if we're lucky and don't lose the right to vote all together (And looking at how republicans are acting around the electoral college... It isn't promising.)
So here we are. Now what?
Unfortunately the long term answer is vote. I know a lot of people turn their brains off when others say that, or they get very angry, but it's literally the only option outside of direct violence, which if you actually care about your people you should try to do everything to avoid violence. Your people will die in the greatest numbers not theirs. Don't be short sighted. Play the long game if you can, like republicans did. They won, right? So steal what wins. There were laws passed they didn't like so they waited and put people and tactics into motion until they got what they wanted. You can do that too, especially in local elections, (though perhaps not in the major ones for a while). And if you’re really stuck in a spot where your vote will never count the rest of us must pick up the slack.
As long as you can vote, wherever you can vote, early and often, vote for the least worst candidates in the viable parties, which honestly is going to be democrats most of the time like it or not. Over time, if you do this, the options will steadily get better and things will change. But it's a lifetime effort and there are no quick or easy answers. We’re starting back on the ground level because the rich and many of our elders failed us.
In the short term and in the event we can no longer vote/voting becomes compromised you 1. Take care of your own and whatever and whoever else you are able and 2. Be as annoying as possible to people in power. You should be as direct as possible while remaining as nonviolent as you can. While a lot of people certainly deserve guillotines violence will almost always only come back to bite you and will engender little sympathy for your cause. Remember you are playing the long game. Be as sly as serpents and innocent as doves. But be obnoxious as hell. Press at every nerve from every angle with a polite smile on your face. Because that’s what they did to us, and ultimately that tactic was far more successful than when they fired guns and beat people.
The media hasn't been mentioned here because they're mostly owned by billionaires and what does and doesn't get reported and how is suspect at best, so you can't count on their help here. And beware of astroturfing campaigns on social media. Tend to believe the little guy in a story over the big guy.
Vote as best you can, in local elections especially. Volunteer for school boards and ferret the fascists out from the bottom up. Shame them. Become thorns in their sides and heap hot coals on their heads. There's still way more of us than them. Work to gain back what we lost and more. Stay away from short minded people who think it's all hopeless and who tell you to give up. It's not too late and there is hope for a tomorrow, even if its for your granddaughters and not for you. And pray that they don't take even more of our votes away. Because they will if allowed. Don't allow it. The next couple of major election cycles are uphill, but the most critical. It’s not going to get easier from here.

Hey. Hello.
I am monumentally tired of fighting. But I’m going to continue to do so for as long as I can.
Right now I am seeing long-time followers attack Kamala Harris and Joe Biden for picking her as a running mate. I know a lot of people look at this duo and see “more of the same.” I’ve seen so many intelligent people saying they are not going to vote.
It is absolutely critical that you vote the Biden/Harris ticket. I want you to remember that while you are pointing out the flaws, and here is why.
The current president is literally a fascist. He’s slow-burning, meaning he’s slowly moving the goalpost farther right. The only reason he’s slow-moving is because the Republican party still has the barest semblance of a conscience. Think of what would have happened if #45 said “we should delay the election!” and McConnell said “yeah okay that sounds cool.”
Do you know how terrifying that is? Because if he got congress to delay the election somehow, there would be no reason to ever have a federal election again. He could just keep delaying it forever.
“But CK,” you say. “The constitution says we can’t delay a presidential election!”
Checks and balances say a lot of things. Checks and balances say that bills are supposed to be voted on and go to the president for signing or veto. Currently McConnell has found a loophole and just has 400 bills sitting on his desk, ignored.
I want you to keep this in mind: Under fascism, the constitution does not matter. They will find a way around it. They’re trying to find ways around amendments, too, poking and prodding at free speech until they can find a way to shut it down.
And if #45 decides he doesn’t want to play anymore, he’s got a whole fucking army, and he’s just proven that the secret police he has in his employ will do whatever the fuck he says. I need you to recognized that this throwing people in Portland into vans thing wasn’t the ultimate violation of freedom. It was only one step in a massive authoritarian takeover. You cannot trust the secret police to do the right thing and say no. #45 has just proven they’ll listen to him like trained dogs.
He has already started talking about more terms. If he discards the constitution, there will be nothing stopping him from taking them. He’s currently, blatantly trying to rig a free and fair election. This has happened in other countries across the globe, and the same people who are posting “NEVER VOTE FOR BIDEN” are the same ones who post things like “JUSTICE FOR _______” when a despot steals an election.
If the incumbent president wins another term, this will be the last election we have. This will be it. This is how fascism works. This isn’t slippery-slope talk. This isn’t “potential worst case scenario.” We are in the middle of the worst case scenario now.
Please. For the sake of the millions of people who will die under #45. For the sake of people who cannot survive another 4+ years. Think of Biden/Harris as a road block. A barricade. Right in the middle of the road. It stops traffic and doesn’t do anything to get people where they’re going, but at least it stops them from careening off a bridge.
If you never want to have to make this choice again, you have to fight to abolish the US’s First-Past-The-Post voting system, but it is TOO LATE to do that now. No third party candidate can win. Study the election results from the last 40 years and you’ll see.
Please. Wise up. This is our last chance.

class 1-A’s love languages headcanons 💕
tw// swearing, crying, she/her reader
Tumblr media
Yuuga Aoyama
his love language is words of affirmation
like tell him that he looks fabulous but he is also a talented hero
and. he. will. die.
of happiness ofc 🥰
and whenever you are feelin’ insecure he’ll do a pretend fashion show with you to boost you spirits (o゜▽゜)o☆
Mina Ashido
her love language is physical touch
but not in a *holds your hand 🥺* *kithes🥰* sorta way
but rather in a
“YOU’RE SO FKN CUTE, (Y/N)!!!” *aggressively pinches your cheeks*
and whenever she kisses/hugs you, it’s always a surprise attack form behind
she is also 159cm in height (almost 5″3)
so if you are shorter than her, she’ll sprint up to you and before you have time to react, she’ll engulf you in her arms
if you are around the same height as her, she’ll sneak up to you and try to jump onto your back, peppering you in neck kisses
and if you are taller than her, she’ll grab your hand and place a kiss on the back of it
Tsuyu Asui
i think her love language is gift giving
but not typically gifts from the store
it’s usually cute flowers or any sort of pretty flora that she finds on her walks
and she’ll sometimes come to your room just before lights-out and hand you a shiny rock or a colourful flower like “hi, (y/n). i found this flower in the park a nd it reminded me of you. so here, i hope you like it.”
then you cry (❤´艸`❤) it’s too precious
also when she visits your dorm, she notices that you have a jar filled with all the flowers she’s every gave you and shE BRAIDS THEM INTO YOUR HAIR
and if you don’t have hair, she makes you a flower crown out of them
Tenya Iida
the king of gifts periodt ✋
to him, gift giving is kinda like a sport and if it was, he’d definitely be winning
he’ll be out getting groceries or sumn then he’ll pass the candy aisle and just *flashback to 3 months ago when y’all were studying together and you randomly said you were craving sour patch kids*
then he buys two packs of sour patch kids (❤ ω ❤)
so obviously excels during holidays like christmas, valentines day or your birthday
and if you make it explicitly clear that you need something (ex. water, medication, cutlery, soap etc.) and you will go get it in x amount of day(s)
expect it to be in your hands within 1-9 hours
“Iida, you didn’t have to rush out to get me Ibuprofen - I was going to go get some in a few days anyway.”
“Yes, but as a hero in training, you must agree that seeing your partner potentially suffer to due a preventable cause would be inhumane.”
“I-..”
Ochaco Uraraka
her love language is probably quality time
OR words of affirmation BUT ONLY ONLINE
like irl she loves going on lil’ picnic dates with you or dates to go watch the sunset or star-gazing..or literally anything where she gets to spend as much time in your presence as possible
you could literally take her on a date inside the sewers and she’d be like 🥰
in the moment (during the date) she just looks at you and wants to tell you how beautiful you are but she is way too nervous
but as soon you leave she texts you sumn like ‘OMG >< YOU ARE SO GORGEOUS 😍 AND I WANTED TO TELL YOU SO BAD BUT I COULDN’T 😩’
also, hypothetically, if she had a phone which supported social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat
she would definitely be the sort of girl to post cute candid pics of you on any special occasion and i mean ANY
like she doesn’t want to just random post pics of you bc she thinks that’d be weird so she looks for any excuse she can
deadass she’d post a beach pic of you and her on her insta with a caption like, ‘happy pancake day to @y/n.l/n 🥰💖 on our first date we shared a stack of pancakes so this is a really special day for us 💓 i’m so blessed to have a stunning, smart, amazing gal like her by my side always 💕’
Mashirao Ojiro
he’s a physical touch kinda guy
sometimes he’ll randomly drape his tail over your shoulder to pull you close
or he’ll pat your head with either his hand or tail when ever you do anything remotely impressive
“ooh, i’ve apparently taken 17k steps so far today, ojiro.”
then he’d be like “that’s good” *pat pat*
he also gets butterflies whenever you hug his arm or tail while he is talking to someone
AND HE WILL KISS YOUR WOUND BETTER IF YOU GET A PAPER CUT OR SUMN
Denki Kaminari
bb is blushing profusely when you hand him a pikachu plushie , saying it reminded you of him
before that, he was probably a physical touch sorta guy but once he realised how awesome and special that simple action made him feel, he became a gift-giver
however, 99.9% the gift is a plushie and the other 0.1% it’s a doll
(he literally bought a whole fkn barbie bc you owned a dress similar to the one the doll was wearing)
“it looks exactly like you!”
“i don’t think so..” “it literally does!”
anyway, whether he is at the mall, in the town, in a gift shop or at the carnival, if he sees something that he knows you’d like or that reminds him of you, he’ll stop at nothing to get his hands on it
flashback to that one time at the carnival, there was a stall that had a huge fkn Kuromi plushie up for grabs
so he asked the lady running the stall if he could have it and she said it was all his, if he could get a ball into the basket 3 times in a row
-- my man was sTANDING THERE DESPERATELY TRYING FOR 30 MINUTES STRAIGHT 😭
and once he figured he couldn’t do it on his own, he got the bakusquad to help him out
(bakugo was all like ‘i’m not helping you, dumbass’ but kirishima convinces him to give it a shot and as soon as he misses on the third shot, he is livid.)
(”YOUR STUPID PARTY GAME MUST BE BROKEN, LADY!”)
anyway, after an hour of holding up the line, the lady just gave the plush to kaminari for ¥1000
but it was all worth it after he saw how thrilled you were 🥺
he came round to your dorm one day and noticed every plushie he had ever given you, sitting on your bed
you told him that they help you sleep and he just..died..
IT MADE HIM SO FKN HAPPY TO THINK THAT YOU TREASURE HIS GIFTS SO MUCH (≧▽≦*)
Eijirou Kirishima
his love language is words of affirmation imo but with a sprinkle of physical touch
like whenever he sees you looking nice or sumn..he’ll just tell you
he has no shame and why should he? he’s just telling the truth
if you walk into the room looking ✨immaculate✨ he will tell you
he’s just like ‘if nobody else is going to say it then I will.’
when your face lights up after he has just told you that you’re beautiful or that you’re one of the most likeable people he’s ever met; it makes his day every. single. time.
the sprinkle of physical touch is because he tells  you what he is thinking all the time
and he thinks you’re stunning even when you are lounging around the dorm complex in casual wear and no makeup
so he’s aware that he might’ve watered down his compliments a bit by saying them too often
(even though he’s telling the truth every time)
so he likes to give you hugs and kisses to express his affection without  seeming like he’s buttering you up
Kouji Kouda
honestly, idek which category he falls under bc he does so many different things to show his love
like, he’ll use his quirk to get a butterfly to land on your head so you can take the perfect photo for instagram
he always holds your hand in crowded areas so y’all don’t lose each other
(he would end up crying in the corner of a Hot Topic or sumn if he couldn’t find you tbh)
he writes mini-love notes v. late at night and uses his quirk to get an insect or bird to carry it up to your room
religiously takes you out on dates to the park
or library/study dates (p≧w≦q)
Rikidou Satou
acts of service but mostly to do with baking
if his s/o doesn’t like sweet treats then..it just..can’t work
he’s very good at noticing when you are down and what he bakes depends on the severity of the situation
like, if you’re just a bit bummed because you got a bad mark on a test, he’ll bake cupcakes and leave a few outside your dorm
obvs accompanied by a cute lil note abt how proud you make him and how you’re the most diligent person he’s met so he knows that you’ll succeed if you just persevere
and as soon as you come to him with your improved mark, he’ll bake you a cake with ‘congratulations, (Y/N).’ written on it
Mezou Shouji
acts of service. but like..service service
he treats you like royalty-
he is the kind of bf to give you his jacket if you’re cold
he can and will use his quirk to form more arms just so he can hold your bags along with his own
if you enter is dorm and he doesn’t offer to take your jacket immediately then i’m sorry to inform you but that is not shouji..that is toga in disguise
you’ll never have to open a door if you are walking next to him and don’t you dare even try to
just an overall gentleman tbh
sometimes you try to get him to stop being so kind bc you’re afraid ppl will think you treat him like a butler
so he’ll be like “sure ..
i’ll hold just your gym bag rather than your gym bag and school bag.”
“don’t hold any bags, shouji..”
Kyouka Jirou
her love language is definitely quality time
there is nothing she loves more than vibing with you in her room - whether y’all are studying, cuddling, playing videos games or something else - while chill music plays in the background, either from a playlist or from her playing it herself on one of her instruments
and sometimes when she’s feeling especially comfortable, she might hum a tune or sing some lyrics to match the mood
she asks you for suggestions for music to put on bc she loves introducing herself to new music
but when you’re concentrated,  she doesn’t want to disturb you so she just puts on a playlist she made prior
she doesn’t create a new playlist each time you hang out but there is at least 10 new songs added to it every day
the playlist is called ‘lazy days w/ (y/n) 💕’
anyway, she just loves hanging out with you bc you’re one of the very few people who don’t annoy tf out of her
also - she’d never say it aloud but - she thinks you’ve got a very comforting presence and you make her feel so exhilarated whenever you laugh (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
Hanta Sero
Sero loves spending as much time with you as possible - hence, he’s a quality time sorta person
but i also think he’s barely a quality time guy bc he expresses his affection in so many different ways
he’s like a mix of 4
( not gift-giving, whenever it comes time to get you gift for whatever occasion, he’s always stumped and ends up asking someone for help)
he preforms acts of service in a sense that if you are both cuddling on the couch and you are cold - even if he seriously can’t be assed to move - he’ll force himself to get up and bring you a blanket
he is really good at compliments bc he barely has a filter so if he sees you looking good, he’ll straight up tell you
plus, he loves seeing your reaction - especially when you get all flustered
and physical touch bc..cuddles :)
to him, there is just something reassuring about having you in his arms
Fumikage Tokoyami
a quality time man mwah
he doesn’t play music on speakers when y’all hang out though, he just likes to sit with you and either mindlessly chatter or chill in comfortable silence
he also doesn’t put in earbuds bc he thinks it’s rude
(you assure him that you don’t mind if he puts his earbuds in but he is always like..no..)
he just loves your company bc he seriously can’t think of somebody he’d rather spend his time with
also he is convinced that he does things 10 times better with you around
when he’s not with you though, he misses you- like- seriously
sometimes he’s just out with his friends or watching a movie with his family and he is just like ‘this’d be more fun if (Y/N) was here-’
and you said that you missed him too when y’all weren’t together
so he did the reasonable thing and made you a playlist for you to listen to whenever you missed him ( •̀ ω •́ )
he sent you the link and your heart stopped bc it was literally called ‘i love you 🖤’ AND THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME HE’S EVER TOLD YOU THAT AAAAA
‘you’re so sweet, tokoyami 🥺 i love you tooooo’
and good thing that was over text bc otherwise you would’ve seen him blushing profusely (= ╯▽╰ = )
as for the contents of the playlist; it’s probably quite diverse
some alt pop, some indie, a bit of R&B, pop rock and a lot of Metal/Rock
Shouto Todoroki
his love language is acts of service
most of them are school related though
he can easily tell if you’re struggling with the coursework and asks you if you want go on a lil study date at the library or in his dorm
he also helps you with homework or explains the material to you if you don’t understand it
and he’s the best teacher since he’s extremely patient and well-spoken
if you’re feeling under the weather, he’ll head to your dorm to fetch your notebook so he can write the class notes for you
and he’ll put in the effort to make them as similar to your other notes as he can
so he flicks through the pages and (for example) if you have a highlighting code, he’ll look for the legend and highlight the notes he took accordingly
once school is over for the day, he goes to your dorm to drop off the notebook, putting it back in the respective part of your bag
and the next day when you open your notebook to check the notes, you notice that he wrote a little note for you;
‘get well soon 💛’
it was a simple, kind gesture but the small details like how he coloured in the heart with a glittery yellow highlighter he must’ve took from your bag had you blushing (^///^)
also, whenever you’ve scheduled a study date at his dorm, there is no way in hell you’ll walk into his room and there isn’t 2 bowls of fresh soba sitting on the desk
no way. impossible.
(or if you don’t like noodles, then two bowls of rice.)
Tooru Hagakure
physical touch bb
she just likes you to know that she is there
also she loves how soft your skin is ^^
she really likes surprise hugging you from behind and you’d think that she’d be very good at that considering that she is.. invisible.. but she’s really not
she has very unique and recognisable voice
and whenever she creeps up behind you, she’s always snickering quite loudly
but you like seeing her happy when she thinks she surprised you so you just think to yourself ‘get ready to pretend to be shocked’
so as soon as she wraps her arms around you and goes ‘boo!’, you jump and always say the same stupid line you wish you would   stop using but it just comes out naturally
“ope, didn’t see you there, tooru.”
but it makes her laugh every time so maybe it’s not such a bad habit
Katsuki Bakugo
he’s definitely a physical touch kinda guy but tries to be an acts of service man..y’know?
he doesn’t want you thinking that he likes hugging, cuddling, kisses or any of that none-sense bc..he is a big macho king explosion murder
and he knows that if he gets to comfortable with showing affection through physical touch, it’d become a habit then he might do it in public and the last thing he wanted was a rumour coming out that ‘king explosion murder is actually a huge cuddle-bug dork!’
so he hides it the best he can and expresses his love by like letting you wear his hoodie and not cussing you out when you do something stupid
but the fact is, nothing makes him feel better than holding you in his arms - under a blanket or not -  with your face buried into his chest and your arm lazing draped over his shoulder
he usually does a good job at resisting his urge to randomly kiss you or take your hand in public
but there was that one time
luckily, it was on a date rather than on a school outing so it was only you who knows about it
it was probably around 6 months after y’all first started dating and he took you on a date to the carnival
there was a gang of boys who looked around a few years older than y’all and they were chatting amongst themselves until they approached the line you and Bakugo were waiting in (to get onto a ride at the carnival) and the group of boys stood behind you in line
at first everything was alright; they were just chatting while you were raving on about the ride to bakugo but he kinda tuned you out after he heard one of the guys say something along the lines of
“she’s kinda hot- a bit young but so fit. i think she’s from the UA too.”
that comment was enough to make his blood boil but a separate comment from one of the other guys tipped him over the edge,
“yeah and look at the guy she’s with. he’s the feral guy that needed to be put in chains at the sports festival - how embarassing.” he snickered, which was genuinely one of the most annoying noises bakugo has ever heard
his voice was low, in a whisper so they probably didn’t expect bakugo to hear it over the background noise of the carnival along with the girl yapping in his ear
but he did
and when i tell you this man was livid
in that moment he seriously considered just turning around and burning each and every one of those guys into a crisp
but the law-abiding citizen and hero inside him said no
instead, he fiercely snaked his arms around your hips to pull you into his chest and looked over his shoulders to shoot literal daggers at the guys
he led you out of the line for the ride in silence and you followed him without question - having heard the things those guys said but choosing to pretend as if you didn’t
“What was that about?” You finally asked as he brought you over to a bench, pulling you onto his lap
“Nothing.” He said, oddly calm as he stared into the void
“Okay.” You rolled your eyes, deciding not to pry as you obviously already knew what provoked him to do that. “I’m gonna go get some cotton candy then. Do you want some?”
“No.” He replied monotonously, allowing you to hop off his knee but immediately grabbing your hand, preventing you from going any farther than arms length from him.
“you needy cow.” you giggled, playfully kicking his shin, “I’m so hungry - let me go!”
“No.” He replied in the same monotone voice. “I can’t be assed to move.”
You leaned back, pulling your whole weight backwards to try get Bakugo to release his grip on your hand and eventually he gave in and got up, sluggishly following you to go get cotton candy
you gleefully popped some of the delectable fluff into your mouth before sneaking some into bakugo’s mouth too.
“are you gonna let go of my hand any time soon?” you asked, wanting to hold the bag of cotton candy for yourself but instead having one hand interlocked with his and the other being used to rip small pieces off as Bakugo held the bag in his spare hand
“No.”
[(a/n): not the over-used jealousy trope 🙊]
Izuku Midoriya
definitely a words of affirmation kinda guy
bc he knows what it’s like to have to go through life with barely anyone besides your mother telling you that your great and that you’re worthy. it’s depressing and traumatic and he wouldn’t wish that misery on his worst enemy
so he’s like your personal hypeman :)
making sure that you always feel appreciated, confident and loved
during the sports festival or anything similar, he’s always louder than the cheerleaders when it comes to your turn to shine
“GO, (Y/N)! YOU’RE SO POWERFUL, YOU CAN DO THIS! I BELIEVE IN YOU! REMEMBER TO BREATHE!”
slightly embarrassing for him but when he sees you smile confidently back at him, every ounce of embarrassment melts away and he is just filled with joy
he gets really emotional sometimes as well
but not like ‘you just faced an opponent and won bc one all your hard work and training - i am so proud of you’ sorta emotional
but like ‘omg you walked into his dorm wearing a new dress and you look really beautiful and you smiled at him so emotions wash over him and he just cries bc he realises how lucky he is to have you.’
he loves to receive words of admiration from you too though
one time you wrote him a birthday card and signed it off as ‘the future wife of the #1 pro-hero’
and as badly as you wanted to just sign it as ‘from the future pro-hero 😘’
you didn’t bc you knew how happy the other option would make him
Minoru Mineta
idk perversion ig?
wait no his love language is titties and/or ass
Momo Yaoyorozu
gift. giving.
like you have no idea how much serotonin she gets when she sees you overjoyed at gift she gives you
bc in her mind she knows that it was her that made you that happy and no amount of trophies will ever compare to how accomplished she feels for being the reason behind your smile
she’s a QUEEN 👑 UGH 😩💓

Okay I've got one: Prompt 15 with Reds. 🤣🤣🤣
15. “I can’t hear a word you’re saying, I just keep thinking about how good that mouth feels.”
Somehow they can make even breathing a competition.
Send me a prompt and some characters! Reminder that the challenge is to make everything SFW, so we're getting creative here.
List of prompts

“So, we’ve called the paramedics and they’re on their way, but until they arrive it’s up to us. Remember the acronym, kids: C-A-B. What’s the first thing you do?”
Aiyeesha Simpson, a gunner in the making destined for academic greatness and social ruin, raised her eager hand. “Find a flat surface to lay him down!”
“Correct.” Blossom took Brick by the shoulders and shoved him down to the floor. A gaggle of Girl Scouts gathered around him as he wheezed for air.
“Ow,” he said.
Blossom patted his chest. “Please choke more quietly.”
I will end you, he thought so loudly he hoped she could hear him through the murder in his eyes. There was community service, and then there was cruel and unusual punishment. When his required hours were up and his record expunged, he was going to write a very negative Yelp review of the local Townsville Girls Scouts of America chapter and tank this year’s cookie sales. Supremely annoying, outrageously petty, and totally legal. That would teach Blossom for sure.
“Place your hands here between the nipples.”
Some of the Cadette Girl Scouts giggled. To be fair, Blossom of all people saying the word nipples in reference to her former mortal enemy as she trained a room full of twelve-year-old girls in CPR using him as the dummy was a perfect storm of absurd and kinky that he did not see coming. And now he was giggling himself, because he was a teenaged boy who thought the word nipples was funny regardless of the very clear contextual cues, and that pubescent shame was on him, one hundred percent.
Blossom, an ancient and inconveniently attractive evil resurrected in a lab for the sole purpose of making his life miserable, did not appreciate his amusement. “Push hard at a rate of 100 to 120 compressions per minute. Remember to put your bodyweight behind it, like this.”
Brick flexed, and Blossom pushed against his heart like she was trying to crush it in her hands. Once, twice, three times she administered compressions, and Brick’s eyes glowed red with impotent rage.
“Assist Blossom with her CPR lessons to her satisfaction, and we can forget this ever happened,” Mayor Bellum had promised Brick when he lost his temper and blew up an (empty) ambulance. Butch didn’t need his Super stomach pumped no matter how much he drank, so the ambulance and the four-figure bill that came with it were completely unnecessary. This defense did not convince the mayor, however.
The promise of the bill forgiven and his record cleared—and the deterrence of Aiyeesha Simpson filming the whole thing to upload to YouTube later—gave Brick the strength not to eye beam Blossom in front of the children.
“Okay, who wants to try chest compressions on the dummy?” Blossom offered to the girls.
You evil bitch, thought the aforementioned dummy.
After the third little girl properly placed her sticky, little girl hands between his nipples, Brick had had enough. “Hey, I’m still dying over here. Can we move on already? Jesus Christ.”
“Of course.” Blossom smiled, and she had never looked more terrifying.
Brick hoped Butch was suffering. He hoped he was hung over so bad he couldn’t piss standing up. He hoped Butch tried going online only to find that Brick had disconnected the Internet and cut him off from all his online games and porn because fuck Butch and his weak-ass stomach.
“Who knows what the next step is? Maybe someone other than Aiyeesha this time?”
None of the other girls seemed willing to stick their hands up. The carpet under Brick had scorched where his power leaked out in his building resentment for this entire situation. The smell of burned polyester just made him feel even more powerless to stop this.
“No? Okay, well, remember the acronym. A is for airway. You want to be careful about a possible neck injury, so gently lift the chin…”
Blossom’s hands were not sticky like the Girl Scouts’ hands, but they were cold where they touched his skin and forced his head back.
“Are the paramedics here yet?”
Brick got a tight fist in his short hair for that one, and he considered it a small victory. “No. Something about a shortage of ambulances, apparently.”
Biiiiiiiitch.
God, he was going to destroy her so bad.
“Once you’ve cleared the airway and confirmed there are no obstructions—”
“Then you kiss!”
Some girls picked up the giggling again. Blossom, ever the professional, cleared her throat. “Mouth to mouth is a life-saving procedure and not something I’d recommend doing to someone you plan to kiss.”
Wow, great advice.
Some girls still giggled and whispered to each other. Brick had a sinking feeling that this was only going to end with his embarrassment: everyone knew that the cold judgment of pre-pubescent girls was the absolute worst type of judgment a person could suffer.
“Are you gonna show us?”
“Well, I don’t think I need to show you all how to breathe—”
“It’s in the manual! You have to demonstrate every step.” Aiyeesha waved the CPR manual, and Brick realized his misjudgment. She was no vapid goody two-shoes in the making, but a future Honors Student with a secret, a Work Hard Party Harder, an Ivy League Early Decision candidate with all of senior spring semester to slack off because no one was ever going to touch her 4.3 GPA.
Aiyeesha beamed a winning smile at Brick, and it was as chilling as Blossom’s.
Jesus Christ, there are two of them.
True to form, Blossom had never been able to defy a good instructions manual. “I suppose if it says so in the manual…”
Locking lips with Blossom was not a big deal. He’d done it before when they were kids, and he could appreciate the irony of a gesture meant to save his life this time rather than end it. She didn’t even try to mess with him by using her ice breath, just went through the motions as described in the instructions. The girls were disappointed with the lack of hormonal fanfare of it all, which was probably for the best. Leave it to Blossom to make mouth to mouth the sexless, medical act it was literally intended to be. He was almost upset, because it felt like she’d won something here, which could only mean he’d lost.
Disappointed but more educated than they’d been when they’d arrived two hours ago, the Girl Scouts dispersed after the lesson, leaving Blossom and Brick to put away the equipment they’d used.
She held a dummy torso, and she was looking at him with that pinched, constipated look she got when she was about to say something especially snobby. Instead, she surprised him. “Brick, thanks for being mature about it. I can honestly say you surprised me.”
He stared at her.
“I’ll talk to Mayor Bellum. I’m sure you’ve done enough to meet your hours quota.”
He had not fulfilled even half of his required community service hours and they both knew it.
“So yeah, thanks. I can finish up here if you want to leave.”
Was she trying to get rid of him? Why?
“Brick? Why are you looking at me like that?”
When Blossom was winning, he was losing. That was simply the way of the world. So, if she was losing, it could only mean he was winning.
“Are you listening to me?”
Brick smiled in what he hoped was a cool, sexy way if he imagined looking at anyone but Blossom. “I can’t hear a word you’re saying. I just keep thinking about how good that mouth feels.”
Blossom stared. “I’m sorry?”
He would make her sorry.
“Yeah, you’re a great teacher. I could really feel your passion for demonstrating the lesson correctly. With your mouth.”
Her staring intensified. “Did you.”
“Oh, yeah.” He leaned his hip against the table like he’d seen in the movies. It worked for Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, and that guy had convinced Eva Green. Iconic. “I could really feel you trying to save me.”
Where was Aiyeesha with her phone to film this? There was so little he could do to rattle Blossom as they got older, and while the challenge delighted him, it was also exhausting being constantly a step behind her. Was this truly her demise? Had he won the Teenage Experience? Was this poetic justice for how she’d once killed him with a mere kiss, only to suffer the same fate in turn? He could have cackled. This was better than trolling the Girl Scouts of America reviews, although he might still do that because it was a genius idea and he had always indulged his own genius ideas when they came to him.
So infatuated was he with his own self-fellating digression that he was slow to react to Blossom sidling up to him. Her hand was still cold on his chin, and it sent a shiver down his spine. “Shall I save you again?”
Brick’s dignity drained with his blood, which was an unfortunate side-effect of being a teenaged boy that he would just have to suffer. But winning was about recognizing one’s weaknesses and working around them. He leaned into her personal space. “Please.”
He wasn’t sure who kissed who first, but it was happening and all he could think was I am better at this than you and I hate you and also Do that again. He tried holding her waist, and she fought back with her fingers in his hair. Not one to be deterred, Brick tried some tongue but pulled back when he tasted thirty degrees below zero. He immediately went back in because he could feel her superiority, her Got you, you horny idiot, but the joke was on her because he liked her cold, always had when it was hot as balls out and he’d make up any excuse to pick a fight with her just for the chance to cool off.
The Girl Scout troop leader walked in on them competitively making out in the classroom like it was an Olympic sport and put an end to things, leaving them at a frustrating draw for now. They said barely a word to each other when Brick glared at the troop leader so bad she flustered and didn’t even question them before running out of there with some excuse about getting the wrong room.
Later that evening, Brick caved and changed the Internet password back just so Butch would quit whining at him. He Googled kissing techniques and spent the next hour and a half watching YouTube videos and reading GQ articles about How to Please Her Like a Champion, because he was a champion and a winner and he was not going to lose to Blossom in this. Not a chance.
This had to be what they meant when they said kill with kindness.
“I’m going to end you,” he muttered to himself as he read about the top ten highest voted movie kissing scenes, which he would then stream and commit to memory in order to be fully armed and armored for the next time he encountered Blossom alone in a classroom. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe during their shared free period.
Truly, he had the most genius ideas.

2012: Barack Obama/Joe Biden vs Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan
2016: Donald Trump/Mike Pence vs Hillary Clinton/Tim Kaine
2020: Joe Biden/Kamala Harris vs Donald Trump/Mike Pence
The same candidates tend to show up year after year. Not just President running for re-election, but Vice Presidents running for the top slot themselves, incumbents or candidates, successful or not; Richard Nixon (1952, 1956, 1960, 1968), Hubert Humphrey (1964, 1968), Walter Mondale (1976, 1980), Bob Dole (1976, 1996), Al Gore (1992, 1996, 2000)
I would expect John Edwards (D-2004) to try and make a comeback, though he was only a one term senator from North Carolina, so that’s looking increasingly unlikely. The state swung for Obama in 2008, but hasn’t voted blue since (except for governor, but he has no power because the Republicans control the state legislature)
Paul Ryan (R-2012) will be back for sure; he retired from the House in part over of disagreements with Trump, but one doesn’t just give up being Speaker and slink away into obscurity (just look at Newt Gingrich, he refuses to shut up or die), so I think Ryan is just biding his time and hoping the whole Trump thing blows over in the next decade. If the party shifts away from Trump, he might offer himself as a slightly more moderate (“moderate*”) alternative.
Or maybe Sarah Palin (R-2008) will try and reclaim the presidency for herself; she’s a hardcore right wing nutjob, she was a Bush supporter AND a Trump supporter, and she’s still relatively young, so I could see her stepping back into the spotlight to try and “being the country back” to the traditionalism of the early 2000s. Nostalgia is cyclical, so I figure around 2028 or 2032 people will start looking back fondly on the Clinton and Bush years (Clinton more so than Bush, what with 9/11 and the wars and such)
Tim Kaine isn’t even one of the famous senators; there are some senators that everybody knows, even if they’re not from your state, like Chuck Schumer, Joe Manchin, Lindsey Graham, Bitch McConnell, big names with big reputations. Tim Kaine is a nobody, just a bland and inoffensive white dude Clinton picked to be as uncontroversial as possible (she couldn’t pick a woman or a black person because then the ticket would have been “too diverse”). He’s not the future of the Democratic party, but I could see him trying to become part of the Senate leadership. Maybe the whip (vice leader), I don’t think he has what it takes to be leader outright.
I don’t think Mitt Romney (R-2012) will run for president again; that ship has sailed. Moderate Republicans are critically endangered, extinct in the wild, with single specimens in captivity (in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maryland). After back-to-back losses in 2008 and 2012, I don’t think Republicans will run a moderate candidate ever again. Romney could maybe just maybe become the whip if he so desired, he’s a big enough name with support enough to become their presidential nominee, though he’ll never be the leader; McConnell was their golden goose, he gave hem exactly what they wanted and changed the game to give them an advantage even in minority. They will only ever elect hardliners like him from now on. Romney is too soft; he cares too much about the other side (he’s not liberal by any stretch of the imagination, he’s a Mormon for Brigham’s sake, but he voted to impeach Trump twice which means he may as well be a liberal in the eyes of the public)
Mike Pence has committed political suicide. Democrats hate him for his homophobia, sexism, racism, classism, and weird relationship with his wife who he calls “mother.” Republicans hate him because he didn’t break the law to re-elect Trump. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t. He’s ultraconservative and super religious, so under normal circumstances he’d be a shoo-in for the nomination, but after breaking with Trump in January he’s dead in the water (he didn’t even really break away, there was literally nothing legal he could do; if he had tried anything it would have been struck down by the courts). And besides that, Pence is boring as hell. He’s milquetoast, he’s a saltine cracker without the salt because it’s too spicy, he orders plain hamburgers with ketchup on the side, all his steaks are cooked well done, he gets a boner when he sees a woman’s ankle and has to self-flagellate for penance, he sends back water if it has too much ice because it makes his teeth hurt. He’s the sacrificial lamb they’d nominate specifically to lose so they can save a stronger candidate for later when there’s no incumbent.
Kamala Harris is basically president-in-waiting (or rather nominee-in-waiting; who knows if she can actually win?) Biden ran on the unspoken promise that he would step down in 2024, making her the front runner, but he has recently walked this back and says he plans on running for a second term himself, pushing Kamala back until 2028 at least. She has good PR and has convinced half the country that she’s a progressive instead of a cop, so if she runs she’ll definitely have an edge over Democratic challengers. The media picks the nominee, and in 24 or 28 they’ll pick her for sure.
It’s becoming increasingly harder for people to stay relevant over multiple decades. I can’t imagine any 2004 candidates running in 2024, but Bob Dole managed to get on as Ford’s #2 and come back as #1 himself twenty years later (he lost both times, but still). Richard Nixon beat the odds and actually got elected in 68 after losing the presidency in 60 and the governorship in 62; he was pretty much coasting on Eisenhower’s legacy, selling himself as the anti-Goldwater, who lost in 64 to LBJ in a landslide.
Trump is acting like he’s going to run again, but whether or not he’ll fully commit is up in the air. On the one hand, his least insane niece says that he doesn’t want to put himself in a position where he could lose again, his ego couldn’t take it, he’s so embarrassed he can’t even admit it happened the first time. On the other hand, he’s too proud to accept defeat and just let some other candidate take his spot as leader of the Republican Party; the Republicans haven’t had a leader since Eisenhower, every other president has disappeared after leaving office.
Nixon resigned in disgrace
Ford was elected out
Reagan disappeared in the 90s because he didn’t want the country to see him deteriorate from Alzheimer’s
Bush Sr was elected out
Bush Jr was despised with approval in the 20s (record low), and could potentially have been tried at The Hague if Obama had balls
Now Trump wants to stick around, even though he’s older than Reagan and FAR less healthy. He’ll probably be dead in 15 years anyway; no way he reaches 90. His mind may already be going, but unlike Reagan he isn’t self aware enough to know it, so he might try to stay in the spotlight even after the dementia sets in. Wo knows?
What his niece says, and what I think is most likely to happen, is that he will pretend like he’s running in order to scam donors out of millions of dollars to pay his exorbitant legal fees, but then bow out of the race before the primaries. Whichever candidate he personally endorses will become the nominee and go up against Biden. Biden will win the popular vote, but I don’t know if he’ll win the electoral college; if this happens for the third time in a quarter century, I expect nothing less than chaos in the streets, perhaps even civil war (well, I expected civil war after 2020, and we’re still standing, so again, who knows?). All I know is that congressional Democrats will throw a hissy fit but do nothing to stop the Republicans from sneaking their way into office without a mandate AGAIN.
The last Republican to legitimately win the presidency was George Bush Sr in 1988. Jr lost to Gore, and only got re-elected in 2004 because he invaded Iraq the year prior. Democrats have won 7 of the last 8 elections, including the last 4 in a row. There are more Democrats and left-leaning independents than Republicans and right-leaners. If the Republicans lose-but-win AGAIN, I don’t think the county could take it; there would be phony calls for secession on TV and legitimate whispers behind the scenes, there would be lawsuits, there would be an even bigger assault on the Capitol than January 6, people would riot, the National Guard would attack brown people with impunity while peacefully corralling the white ones with shields and loudspeakers.
There hasn’t been an assassination since 1963, and no assassination attempt resulting in injury since 1981. Someone threw a grenade at Bush Jr in 2005, but they wrapped a handkerchief around it so the lever didn’t release. I think multiple politicians on both sides of the aisle might be targeted in the event of another electoral college screw up.
Trump could face jail time for his tax crimes, though given his high profile I think he’d get off with a slap on the wrist. He has never faced consequences before, so why would they start now?

The only way to popularize 3rd parties is to vote for them. People do this "if you vote 3rd party [candidate I don't like] will win for every cycle, at least all of the ones I've been a part of. I'm not a "Trump voter in denial". Could it end up in Trump winning? Maybe. But I am NOT voting for Trump, therefore I am not a Trump voter. An old senile pervert who opposes universal healthcare vs an old senile pervert who opposes universal healthcare isn't exactly a choice anyway.
You are, 100%, a Trump voter in denial. Third party votes, and abstaining from voting, benefit Republicans exactly as much as voting for them directly. No third party currently has the resources to be viable in a general election, and under a Republican presidency, they never will be, because leaving them as a means to trick idiots into wasting their votes is a key part of the Republican election strategy. Doing what the GOP wants you to do, whether you’re doing it unwittingly or intentionally, is still doing what the GOP wants you to do. If you’re voting third-party, or abstaining, and your conscience is clean, and you truly genuinely have willed yourself to believe you’re not a dupe of the republican electoral strategy, then you’re either delusional or just plain stupid.
You don’t get to say “I am not voting for Trump” and “I am not a Trump voter,” because you are. Unequivocally, you are voting for Donald Trump, and you are on the side of every white supremacist with a MAGA hat who wants him re-elected, even if you don’t mean to be. There are two possible outcomes to this election: “The Democratic nominee wins the general election and becomes president” and “Donald Trump remains president.” If you prefer the first option, you vote for the Democratic nominee. If you prefer the second, you do literally anything else with your vote. If you prefer some fantastical third option? Tough! It’s not gonna happen. It sucks to hear but it’s the truth. Maybe someday, if electoral finance law is reformed (which it won’t, ever, under a republican president) people offer enough financial support and manpower to a third party, maybe they’ll be able to stand a chance in the general election. It is impossible for it to happen by November 2020. It is delusional to think it might happen by November 2020. It is selfish to cast a vote that will (not “could,” absolutely will) benefit Donald Trump in 2020 just because you think it’s unfair that you only have bad choices but still have to choose which one is less bad.
If you think Trump should stop being president and you have the legal ability to vote, then you vote for the democratic nominee. If you do literally anything else, you are voting for him to remain in office, whether your vote says “Trump” or “Howie Hawkins” or “Bart Simpson” or “Absolutely nothing because I stayed at home on election day.” End of list. There is no third outcome. The revolution will not arrive in the next six months. People are dying because Donald Trump is President, and specifically more people than would die if he were not. If you’d like less people to die, vote for the Democratic Candidate in the general election. If you’d like more people to die, go ahead and vote third party, it’s the exact same as voting for Trump only you can be self-righteous about it, which is clearly the only thing you actually stand for.

Well.
Wow.
I mean, wow.
So in case you missed it, the first US presidential debate was everything the US empire deserves and a fair reflection of everything the US empire is.
If Vladimir Putin were every bit the election-meddling demon the Democrats say he is, and if he had unlimited time and unlimited resources to create the perfect ninety-minute propaganda video to discredit the US-led unipolar world order, he could not have designed one more effective than the performance that was just delivered by President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden with the help of moderator Chris Wallace.
I mean, it had everything. Both candidates yelling over each other the entire time, Biden telling the sitting president of the United States to shut up on live television, Trump at one point saying the Proud Boys should “stand back and stand by”, Chris Wallace literally shouting to be heard over the unceasing interruptions, Biden getting confused and arguing that the Green New Deal would pay for itself and then turning around saying he does not support the Green New Deal, mountains of lies and nonsense, and absolutely no meaningful discussion of policies that will actually help ordinary Americans at all.
It was crazier than any of Trump’s debates in 2016. It was crazier than any presidential debate that has ever happened. You seriously could not have designed a more perfect display to do everything we’ve been told for years that Russian propagandists are trying to do: depress the vote, encourage support for third parties, weaken public trust in America’s institutions, and humiliate the United States on the world stage.
The world is going to be talking about this for a while now. Clips from this debate are going to share widely all across the planet. It will be translated in many languages. Articles will be written about it for days. And people who’d never thought to question whether this is the government that should be leading the world into the future are suddenly going to find themselves contemplating that question.
And hopefully the next one will be even worse.
It is good for the US empire to invalidate itself in this way. The government that has encircled the planet with hundreds of military bases and snuffed out millions of human lives while displacing tens of millions since 9/11 in military interventions that were based on lies, which sanctions, sabotages and destroys any nation which dares to disobey its dictates, and which is escalating world-threatening cold war aggressions against not one but two nuclear-armed nations is not a government that should have any control over humanity’s collective future.
The uglier a face that appears on this murderous empire, the better it will be for everybody. In a government that is intrinsically evil and destructive from root to flower, an attractive face with competent management is the last thing anyone should want.
It doesn’t matter who won this accidental Kremlin propaganda performance of a debate. It doesn’t even matter who wins the election; the most evil aspects of the US government will continue unhindered regardless of which oligarchic puppet wins in November. What does matter is that the dark, ugly aspects of global power that people had previously not noticed are being drawn into the spotlight and seen by everybody. 2020 seems to be a good year for that.
If the imperialists who run things have any sense they will find a way to cancel future debates in the name of national security, because they’re the ones who will be worst affected by them. Here’s hoping they don’t, though.

Hi! I do have a question about politics and Biden/Harris. I want to preface this by saying that I am not American and all I know about the elections is from the internet & Philip DeFranco. I recently started following a youtuber who, when Bernie dropped off the race (i lov him sm), she told everyone to STILL VOTE GREEN in the elections in november, that she couldn't respect people who voted for Biden because they thought he was the lesser of two evils (1/?)
she said that if you were from a swing state and you voted for Biden, that you didn't really care about people, that you just wanted to get Trump out of office, and that it'd be better if you voted green. I felt like this was a little... harsh? extreme? because of course you (i was about to say we as if my voice counted LMAO) want to get Trump out of office. is that not the point? I really am trying to understand, I swear. I know Biden/Harris are not great, but definitely better than Trump (2/?)
and i feel like ultimately, any votes that don't go to Biden right now, are going to Trump. I don't know. I'm sorry, I'm mexican and I don't know much, but... it does worry me that, for example the last elections, the people who voted for Harambe or third party ultimately helped get Trump elected. EVERYONE would have to agree to vote third party to not get Biden or Trump elected. right? she has a pretty big following and it scares me a little that she could be influencing them. (3/3)
Ahhh yes this is such a good question!!! Thank you for asking!!! And honestly your thoughts here are really the root of the struggle with this election (at least in my opinion). I totally don’t speak for everyone so I want to make sure that’s said. I also wanna say I 1000% understand why American voters are feeling disenfranchised and not wanting to vote at all so I want to make sure I approach this with empathy because so many people’s lives are going to be affected negatively no matter who wins. My answer might be all over the place because it totally is a complex and really nuanced issue so if anything is confusing at all please lmk!!
In terms of a Biden vote meaning you don’t care about people, I think for most rational Americans, and those of us who are leftist/socialist (at least those of of us who, at the minimum would have voted for Bernie and even to a lesser extent, Warren), the point is to get Trump out of office but many people who don’t want to vote for either aren’t voting because they truly don’t feel that Biden is the better option. For a lot of people who aren’t wanting to vote at all, it’s because they feel they’re voting for just sliding scales of morality and both Trump’s and Biden’s morals (and therefore the policies they’ll choose to support) are corrupt. Trump is the obvious and outspoken fascist, but Biden is just wrapped in a veneer of progressivism because he doesn’t explicitly say he wants to disenfranchise voters, he’ll just do it by picking a VP that has a long and icky history of turning Black people into felons and therefore excising them of their right to vote ever again. (For what it’s worth, people with a felony record in CA where Kamala Harris was DA and senator can vote with some qualifiers, unlike many other states). For a lot of people, especially BIPOC, their lives are threatened under both candidates so why vote for either if neither will make them feel safe or care about their basic human rights?
It’s hard too because we do know what a Trump 2nd term will bring and it’s fascism and the removal of everyone’s rights/healthcare/access/etc. as much as he possibly can manage. With Biden those particular risks are just not at the same level. The way he is damaging is in different ways and people are unfortunately being forced to choose whether he as a president will be more harmful or less harmful than Trump, so it’s really about what each individual person is willing to sacrifice and “put up with” because clearly all of us are going to sacrifice in very painful ways (to put it lightly) no matter which candidate is picked. I do think part of it too is playing into Republican hands to make Biden look as bad as Trump, which I feel is what they did in 2016, as well, and it worked. If we’re talking about the basic, will Biden put children in cages, will he build a border wall, will he refuse to leave office if he gets elected and loses re-election, will he xyz - no, I personally do not feel he will. And if that, for me, is the bar I’m voting at, then he’s getting my vote, if that makes sense. (For me personally, it just doesn’t track that the right can get a spray-tanned used sock into power and all unite behind him in unison, but the moderate to liberal left can’t unite behind one fucking person to keep a fascist from exercising his dictator inclinations.)
One of the other big things people feel is that centrism is the death of progressivism. Malcolm X and MLK both talked a lot about this with respect to being Black and in general, a person of colour, and I’m REALLY going paraphrase it here but basically, lots of people feel that voting for Biden will make Democrats/centrists/liberals complacent. The republicans and conservative party are getting more and more extreme and far-right with every new candidate so the fear is that to be a “moderate” democrat and to be successful, you have to bend to the will of Republicans to even casually get both sides to agree, which inches each “moderate” Democrat further from being left-leaning and more toward being right-leaning because the demands of the GOP are such fucking thinly veiled fascist demands at this point, if that makes sense.
With respect to the idea of not voting for Biden meaning a vote goes to Trump, it’s sort of true and not true at the same time (in my opinion). If someone doesn’t vote for Biden, it’s not *literally* a vote for Trump because you *literally* voted for a third party candidate, but in the nuance of how electoral politics work, the American two-party and electoral system does feel like it turns it into “if you don’t vote for one of the major candidates, your vote won’t count at all.” It’s easy to say “well if everyone voted for the Green Party then they’d win”, but as we saw in 2016, the person who wins the most votes doesn’t necessarily win the presidency, so even if most of us did vote for a third party candidate, we’d all have to do so in EVERY state enough to outvote not only Biden but Trump as well. And it ABSOLUTELY would mean the states with a lot of electoral votes (in particular Florida because historically whoever wins FL’s electoral votes generally wins the presidency) would have to go toward the Green Party candidate.
I do feel that telling people if they don’t vote for a third party candidate that they don’t really care about people is harsh because a vote for Biden isn’t just a vote for the president, it’s a vote for a supreme court judge (who rules for their ENTIRE life or until they actively choose to step down - this person WILL be as disgusting as Kavanaugh under a Trump 2nd term at best and at worst, a 2nd Trump presidency will get to choose two more SCOTUS judges), it’s a vote for hundreds and hundreds of political offices approved by the President and confirmed by the Senate, it’s a vote to kick DeVos and Barr the fuck out, it’s a vote for climate change and for abortion access and LGBTQ+ healthcare, it’s a vote for someone who won’t tweet his presidency (the bar is so low), it’s a vote for representatives of the US who won’t act like fools in front of foreign powers, etc. etc. Lots of people are being forced to vote for him even when they don’t want to (like me) the same way lots of people are feeling forced to note vote at all because both of them feel dangerous to themselves in different ways.
For me, it feels like a MASSIVE gamble to say I’m not gonna vote for either because I think that we as a country need a revolution. I said this on Twitter but feeling like the revolution needs to happen before you’ll vote hinges a lot on that revolution actually happening and if we’re gonna be honest, I don’t think it will happen. Will I be a part of it? Yes. Will I attempt to dismantle the system we have? Without a doubt. But I’m also going to vote for the candidate that will keep my rights to be able to do that even if I think he’s kind of a sentient sock puppet.
Here is another post that talks about it that I agree with.
This was SO LONG and I’m super sorry!!!! I hope this at least sort of answered what you were getting at?? It’s a complicated question that people understandably have a lot of mixed feelings about so I hope my answer made sense!!

I remember exactly where I was when The New York Times needle on my phone went from a cool blue “everything is fine; we’re gonna make history, baby” to a fiery red “the carnival barker reality television host is going to take away all of your rights.” I was at a friend’s loft in Soho. That was before the pandemic ended all the normal stuff, like parties, dinners, and funerals for loved ones. That was New York City before the refrigerated trucks and the field hospital in Central Park. That was before the children in camps, the Muslim ban, the swamp of corruption. That was before Jared Kushner “solved” coronavirus and told us that Donald Trump, not the doctors, was now in charge.
That night, after I left my friend's home in something of a daze, I wandered the darkened streets of Soho. Then I went home to a fitful sleep, and I woke at 3 a.m. to find that Hillary Clinton had officially lost and Donald Trump had actually won. It was a gut punch—but nothing was worse than telling my 8-year-old daughter that the guy with all the sexual assault allegations was now going to be president of the United States.
The last four years of the Trump administration have been hard on all of us, though arguably not as hard for me as for the children being kept in the camps without soap or toothbrushes or the deported mothers or the 228,701 people who’ve died of coronavirus or their grieving families. But it’s pretty hard to argue than any of us are better off than we were four years ago. After all, four years ago we could go to Europe, or at least just leave the house. This week, we learned that the Trump administration has no plans to deal with the coronavirus and has embraced the deranged scientifically improbable herd immunity. This means that if Trump is reelected thousands more, or maybe even hundreds of thousands more, will die.
But it’s not just the Trump administration’s mishandling of the pandemic that’s so exhausting. The president’s baseline nuttiness is just crushing. I’m so tired of the chaos. Every single day is a Saturday night massacre in Trumpworld. It’s Watergate every single week. It’s the Teapot Dome every two hours. I’m so tired of looking at my phone and finding out that the president has done another insane thing to capture the news cycle. We’re no longer Trump’s constituents; we’re his hostages.
And then there’s the constant misogyny. The last four years have a shit sandwich of sexism and anti-women legislation. Trump let the violence against women act expire and I’m sick to my stomach about how Mitch McConnell nominated Amy Coney Barrett before Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s body was even cold. I’m so tired being told that women who want to take away other women's rights are “feminist icons.” I’m sorry but Justice Amy is about as much of a feminist as Justice Keg Stand Kavanaugh.
After four years of Trump, I’m tired. Most people are tired. We’re tired of always wondering what horrible thing the president is going to say or do. We’re tired of the racism and the stupidity. And the thing I find the most exhausting is that the only unifying principle of Trumpism seems to be “owning the libs,” which isn’t a very effective governing principle.
The stakes are impossibly high, and people are nervous. I get it. The last few days, the texts have been relentless: friends, ex-lovers, acquaintances, people who have been married to my parents, my second cousins, people once sat next to one of my second cousins at a wedding. Everyone wants to know the same thing: Is it possible that we’re going to have another 2016? If you’re quiet, you can almost hear the low hum of anxiety from Democrats. It usually starts with a sentence to the effect of, “Sure, Biden’s polling is good, but…”
And I’m nervous, too. Democracy is quite literally on the ticket. But we have to be sensible. Trump won because everything cut in his favor. Despite this, he won by impossibly small margins. The key states of Michigan, Wisconsin are all trending toward Biden. And yesterday, the Cook Political Report moved Texas from “leans red” to “toss up.” That's a state that hasn't gone for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1976. The president’s approval rating is pretty grim, somewhere in the low 40s, where it's been for over a year, and Biden is leading in all the national, state, and district polling.
But we’re afraid to say all this out loud. We’re afraid to hope, because we remember what happened last time. We’re afraid to say that “Biden will probably win” out loud because we’re worried that somehow that’s going to jinx it. One of my best friends keeps sending me every single poll that has Trump leading in any state. The other day she accidentally sent me a poll from 2016. But it’s not 2016. I get it—we’re fucking scared. We now know the chaos that a Trump presidency brings. We’ve seen the Nazis with the tiki torches chanting “Jews will not replace us” and we know what the stakes are. We know what damage four more years will bring to the most vulnerable. We're not asking for much: We just want not to be governed by a lunatic any more
Four years later, as I still recover from that traumatic night in Soho, and the election night PTSD that I and millions of others share, I’m quietly filled with hope because I know in my heart that the American people are better than Trumpism. I think that, on Tuesday, the American people will finally reject Trumpism. They’ll reject the racism, the sexism, the selfishness, the stupidity, and the general sleaziness that is Trumpism. On Nov. 3, our national nightmare will end. At least I hope so.

Where I say something nice about the Democratic candidates.
I know my last few posts about politics have been furious and relentlessly negative, so I'm going to try and say at least one nice thing about each person who was running for president, past and present. Keep in mind I'm not going to mention bad things about these people, so yeah I know that guy supported awful things or that other guy has utterly toxic followers. That's not what this is about.
My feelings about Liz are well known so I'll just cry about the fact that we lost yet another absurdly talented female candidate, and one who had the power to fucking atomize a billionaire from 30 feet with only her death glare.
I'll actually start though with the people still in the race.
Bernie Sanders: Dude is a progressive powerhouse and has been consistently on the right side of history for decades. He's got energy, he's got plans, he's got a passionate following of young people who, if their candidate actually wins will almost assuredly lead the charge in a new progressive wave in politics. And I'm sure that many of them will be passionate enough to support progressive candidates and fight for real change even when their guy isn't on the ballot.
Joe Biden: This guy is a charisma powerhouse, and honestly even if he himself may be more moderate, with as charged up as the democratic voters are right now we could practically hand him a gift wrapped congress. It frankly doesn't matter that much if he's moderate if Congress keeps sending him progressive legislation to sign. Do you think he wouldn't jump at the chance to do M4A or climate change initiatives or even a green new deal if we just put a stack of paper on his desk to sign? He'd get to go down in history as one of the greatest presidents ever without having to do any of the hard work. And even if we can't take Congress for him, he *is* actually charismatic enough to negotiate deals across the aisle. I'll frankly take a small amount of progress over literally burning the planet down.
Tulsi Gabbard: Forgot she was still in this didn't you? Well that's the nice thing I'm saying, she's tenacious. If we can just get her to fight for the right things then she can be a real asset...
Alright now the people who have dropped out.
Pete Buttigieg: it's not nothing for someone to be openly gay and to have gotten as far as he did in American politics. Like yeah, he wasn't the guy to win but for a long time he was a frontrunner and whether you agree with him or not, every bit of representation matters.
Michael Bloomberg: (yes I'm going to say something nice about Bloomberg). Disregard his policies and track record for a moment. Also ignore the disastrous consequences of what it would have meant to allow someone to effectively buy the nomination of a major political party. If he *had* secured the nomination this guy had literally billions of his own personal wealth to throw at down ballot races. If he were president he would have wanted a cooperative Congress and he would have thrown as much money as he could at making that a reality. And while that probably wouldn't have addressed some very important issues, he probably would have at least addressed climate change which any reasonable person will agree is an existential threat to all mankind.
Amy Klobuchar: She was basically Hillary but with fewer scandals and meaner. And honestly the meaner part is kinda important in modern politics. We need someone who can basically turn Senate Republicans into scolded children on a daily basis.
Tom Steyer: He's been taking out ad space to tell us to impeach and remove Trump since January of 2017. Yeah, he's another billionaire but he's the only one I've heard openly talking about how billionaires need to be taxed more.
Andrew Yang: Yeah another billionaire but he got us to have a national conversation about UBI and that's not nothing. Plus I'll admit that he was pretty fun in a genuine way.
Corey Booker: look there's a reason a lot of people were talking about him back in 2018 like he was the next Obama. Smart, charismatic, well versed in policy and procedure but willing to break the rules when the rules were blatantly unfair. Also as a side note could you imagine First Lady Rosario Dawson? Could you imagine a White House wedding?! Between brilliant, talented, hilarious, literal film and theater star Rosario Dawson and President Corey Booker? It would be an event filled with actual class and glamor happening in Washington DC that would have nothing to do with politics that would rival a royal wedding for sheer opulence and spectacle.
Julian Castro: he endorsed Warren so he's automatically getting points for me, he was fairly progressive in his own right and as someone with a Latinx heritage it's pretty damn likely that we could at least start to undo some of the damage of the last few years.
Marianne Williamson: Not gonna lie, I'd be mildly terrified of what her presidency would actually look like, but you have to admit that seeing her campaign against Trump in the general would have been absurd and hilarious. Plus, let's face it she *would* hold cleansing rituals to purge the White House of evil and who knows, it might work.
Deval Patrick, Rob Delaney & Michael Bennett: I'm lumping them in together because I have the same thing to say about all 3 of them. They're boring without standout policy proposals. Remember back when we had boring presidents? No you don't because even the most boring President we've had in a generation (Carter) was still going out and building homes for Habitat for Humanity at the age of 90. But I'm just saying, if we get some bland, inoffensive white guy in office it's not the worst thing in the world so long as we can shift Congress to a more progressive stance.
So yeah. That's the takeaway from this. It's ok to be disappointed that your candidate didn't win. It's ok to not be enthusiastic about the choices you're left with. What it's not ok to do is to refuse to vote. We are literally up against a fascist regime who is hell bent on kicking everyone out of the government who doesn't agree with them and removing voting rights altogether.
In 2016 we underestimated how dangerous his administration would be and how many people in America would be fine with a failed Reality Show Dictator in office. Think of all the things he's been able to do in the last 3 years alone and realize that he keeps "joking" about running for a third term.
Put a stop to this. Now. Vote in your primary for your preferred candidate and then regardless of who wins, vote a straight Democratic ticket in November. We won't get another chance at this.

Warning, long post. TL/DR at bottom.
Okay so I've got a real hot take about the primaries.
And I'm just gonna stress this now. This is by no means fact checkable and is closer to a conspiracy theory than like, an actual reality we need to worry about. So please don't come at me for spreading false news. This isn't news. Its just a theory.
But I high key think our elections have been rigged again.
In short: my theory is that the obscene number of people that were running for the primaries who have since dropped out, never ACTUALLY wanted to run. They were just there to collect and hand over votes to Biden.
And I know that sounds nuts but let me walk you through my thought process here.
1- Not a single person I've spoken to or heard of, either in person or online, has said they wanted to vote for Biden. He was literally no ones first choice. Even the more conservative centrist end of people were saying Bloomberg before Biden.
2- a common joke amongst late night hosts has been just how ridiculous it was that sooooooo many people were running and how no one was willing to back down or quit, even when they had no chance.
3- Beyond just your pride, which will hurt either way, dropping out after voting has already started makes no sense. Spending all the time, money, and resources, on a presidential campaign for months if not years, just to drop out in the first week of the primaries makes no sense. At that point it's not like you can get your money back. So why drop out at that point?
Dropping out just before, when you see your polling low, makes sense. Cause it means not splitting the vote. But after? That means people that already voted for you don't really get the chance to vote their second choice. Their votes are basically just given to whoever you endorse.
Which brings me to
4- Pretty much every candidate who has dropped out after voting began has given their delegates to Biden. Like, even the ones who had basically nothing in common with his campaign. Even the ones who said they hated him the whole time they were "against" each other. And even the ones who claimed to be more progressive and aligned with Bernie when discussing their views and plans.
And I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this cause I've seen the memes, as well as the serious posts, all talking about how ridiculous it is for the media to claim Warrens delegates should go to Biden "cause he was the 2nd choice for most of her voters". Like no. He wasn't. She was Bernie's direct competition. They had incredibly similar campaigns. Warren and Biden had NOTHING in common policy wise.
5- The web domain for Bernie sanders currently redirects you to a donation page for Biden. Like You click the link thinking its for Bernie, and the only way to figure out your actually donating to Biden instead is to scroll up first or see it after you've already donated.
These above factors, mixed with a variety of other little things that just don't add up, have me pretty convinced there's something shady going on.
And the most probable cause in my opinion is a rigged election.
I know that seems like it would be hard to do. But honestly its pretty simple.
Copious choice splits the vote. Which makes it easier for them. So that was step one.
Then step two. Misleading voters into thinking these planted candidates are more progressive, which seeds false security by making them think they will endorse Bernie or another progressive candidate if they do drop out.
Step three is collect votes and delegates early on then drop out and give them to Biden. All of a sudden Biden has all the delegates and is somehow winning despite a huge portion of that being votes he didn't actually earn himself.
Step four will be people giving up and letting him win the primaries. They are literally already trying to end the primaries early and hand the win to Biden as I type this up.
And honestly.
I don't think step 5 will even be giving Biden the presidency. I don't think he's involved at all actually. I wholeheartedly think it'll be giving it to trump.
I think rigging the primaries in favor of Biden is jist phase one in a two part plan to get Trump re elected. And here's why:
1- Our last elections were hacked by the russians in trumps favor and there was literally 0 backlash for that for either of them.
2- Trump and his team just learned that they literally can get away with anything including trying to rig elections. He literally was impeached for this and got away with it. Soooo why shouldn't he do it if he knows its allowed for him?
3- There's no real know incentives for anyone with the ability to rig elections to rig them in the dems favor. The agenda of rigging elections is gaining power and money and it can only be done if you have some of that already. And who do the rich powerful people want to be in charge? Not Biden. And for SURE not Bernie.
4- Speaking of the impeachment trial.
Remember way back when the whole impeachment case story broke? Remember people making jokes about the fact that trump chose Biden of all people to get dirt on? Remember people thinking it was ridiculous cause there was no way he was gonna win the primaries?
Well. This is adding an extra layer of conspiracy to this conspiracy theory. But what if the plan to rig the election was already being formed back then?
What if Trump knew that Biden would eventually be the one running against him because he knew it would be rigged as such?
And I know your wondering why they would want Biden to be the one against trump as opposed to any of the other guys.
Well. Have y'all read the responses to the primaries so far? Everyone hates Biden. Like yeah we hate trump more. But I've already seen posts of people saying voting for Biden would be "just as bad".
I'm seeing people lose hope in Bernie winning or their voices being heard. And I'm seeing in fighting amongst people who are mad their first choice didn't win. All of this means potentially low voter turn out.
Especially amount younger more progressive voters who have taken a "Bernie or Bust" mentality.
And we know what happened when we take that stance. Cause its the same one that happened last time.
I know Hillary wasn't a perfect person or candidate either. And I too would have preferred Bernie in the last election.
But all that: "she's just as bad" "my votes don't count anyway" "id rather vote 3rd party than her" "Bernie or Bust"
All that.
Is how he won last time.
So all I'm saying is. Them rigging primaries in favor of a candidate they know most of the democratic voter base actually hates, makes it a lot easier to secure trump gets re-elected.
And the people potentially being pissed that Bernie lost primaries twice in a row wont help.
Even if my whole crazy theory is wrong. Even if their is no real evil plot being done here. That last point still stands.
If by some bizarre twist of fate. Biden wins the primaries. Be it honestly or by stealing delegates from the drop outs. He's still better than Trump.
Be prepared for that other shoe to drop.
Be prepared for the memes and social discourse trying to convince you not to vote or to throw away your vote on a 3rd party.
Be prepared for what ever dirt trump was trying to get on him to be released.
And know that he will STILL no matter what. Be better than Trump.
And in case I am right. And we are in the middle of an attempted coup.
Then this next part becomes twice as important.
If you live in a state that hasn't voted yet. PLEASE show up for Bernie.
I hate telling people how to vote. But mathematically speaking the only possible outcomes at this stage are Biden or Bernie. So for the love of god stop wasting votes on the other guys. Its almost as bad as voting third party for the actual election.
Plus if I'm right there's a 50/50 chance of those underdog votes being party of the conspiracy and going to Biden in the end.
If Biden really is your 2nd choice then fine. This doesn't apply to you.
But if you hate Biden and you prefer the more progressive stances, and your hoping for someone similar to Bernie, then just fucking vote Bernie.
Cause we learned from Warren that we cant trust ANYONE to give their endorsement to Bernie when they drop out.
So vote Bernie.
And if y'all don't, and we end of with Biden. I don't wanna hear any complaints.
If we get Biden then we gotta vote Biden. End of story.
Cause if Trumps re elected its game over.
He's already talking about extending his term limits or straight up erasing them. He wants to be a dictator and he's WELL on his way to achieving that.
He's proven above the law. And when the system fails the only hope left is the people.
Its 100% on us to make sure trump dosnt win. Its 100% on us to stay vigilant and not fall for the BS designed to turn things in his favor. It's 100% on us to show up, speak up, and carry a big ass stick of democracy.
Sorry for the long ass post. But I've been getting more and more suspicious/nervous by the day.
TL/DR: The primaries may or may not be rigged in Biden's favor. And that might be part of an even bigger plot to get Trump reelected. Don't waste your vote on 3rd party or underdogs. Please fucking don't inadvertently hand the election to trump.
And remember that I'm not a news source. Just a concerned citizen who worries too much and is hoping to inform/ warn people about a possible threat to our democracy.
