Seeing Alex holding a baby made me wonder what Beetlejuice would be like with kids. Your thoughts? Obviously he adores Lydia, and if Charles and Delia ever had kids he'd take to being the Weird Eclectic Uncle like a duck to water (god help anyone who tries to hurt that child or even looks at them funny). But I think he'd also be pretty good with kids in general. Like he knows what it's like to have a shitty childhood, and what it feels like to have people who care, so he'd want to help out kids in the same situation. Maybe be some kind of counselor? Delia would probably be ecstatic the first time he comes to her with questions about getting into the field.

If a child ever landed in his grubby hands i really hope it wouldnt just be him alone with a small child. Dont get me wrong he would try his best but i dont think that man knows the first thing about childcare or has a responsible bone in his body (that creature just puts coke in his pocket, no baggie, just loose..). Im honestly not even sure if he ever was a human child? So it teeters on what hes seen over the years of being invisible.

Now what im 100% sure about is that kids would just be drawn to the funny, green haired weirdo like cats to somebody who`s allergic. Ask him about every weird thing he does and hed of course would anwer with no filter at all.

And then theres the problem with his temper, he throws temper tantrums like a toddler himself and has huuuuge anger problems. This might make relate better to the kids, so he might know how to help a kid get thru something like that (i wouldnt bet on it tho).

With help and guidance tho he might be a good babysitter for a few hours, he is an eccelent entertainer and would keep a child well occopied. Maybe with "magic" tricks or funny not apropriate for a child stories.

in the end i think it just comes down to the vers. of BJ that lives in your head guess mine is more of an unbridled idiot lol

Hello new fandom, welcome to the madness of my brain :)

As ever Fizz headcannons under the cut

Fizzarolli joined the circus after being abandoned by his parents

He wasn't very good to start but learned quickly

Fizz was in his late 20s by the time he met Asmodeus (this is sort of cannon but the timeline gets a bit wobbly in places) (also we don't have a cannon age for fizz)

Fizz has custom ringtones for each of his contacts (ozzy's is careless wisper)

Fizz met Ozz when Mammon took him to the factory to make the robots

His favorite food is pizza, although breakfast burgers are a close second

Fizz's first set of prosthetics were very simple, to the point that he had to change career

Eventually he managed to win Mammon's clown pagent by performing wheelchair acrobatics

It took 3 days of knowing each other before Fizz and Ozz started to live together

Fizz occasionally now visits Blitzø, although he tries not to make it a regular thing

Fizz is really good at giving therapy

Fizz loves musicals (especially Beetlejuice and School of Rock (he just feels some sort of special connection to those ones specifically))

The first time Fizz cooked in Ozzy's tower it needed a full rebuild afterwards

Fizz will occasionally sleep in Ozzy's giant hair/fire (it feels like really soft candy floss (cotton candy for US)

If he could have wings, he would get them

Fizz REALLY does not like the design of the female robo-fizzes

He has been tempted to test a robot himself but decided that that was too wierd even for him

He has very few famous friends

That's about it for Fizz, it's been a while since I've watched helluva boss (the murder drones obsession has hit hard) but the full moon should get me back into the swing of things.

My art exam is finished now, actually went relatively okay-ish: just the rest of them to go now :(

(Ever after high was my childhood! Wasn't allowed to have Monster high though. So I am not familiar with most of these characters. I'm going based on pure reserch that I did online. I don't know the movies so plz comment which movie they would like- and maybe I'll watch them lol)

Niffty would love mouscedes king and Cupid.

Angel Dust would love Lagoona Blue, Lorna McNessie, and Wydowna Spider.

He loves sea creatures, loves fish.

And loves pink which a lot of Lagoona's clothes have.

And Wydowna is a spider and has many arms like he does, so he likes seeing himself represented in a doll.

Lorna is also a sea creature with amazing style, so of course he'd love her too.

Fizzarolli would love and relate a lot to Frankie Stein and would love the Sally (nightmare before Christmas) doll and the Beetlejuice and Lidia doll they came out with.

Doesn't matter how expensive they are, Ozzie would absolutely buy them for him. (I want them ngl. But I can't afford hundreds for dolls.)

Velvette would love all the monster high dolls, but I think her fav would be Operetta for her style alone.

-he is the master of mischief and encourages all sorts of pranks

-he doesn't really got rules so if his little is doing something bad then he's there doing it with them

-He's not a parent caregiver and he's more of a brother or uncle

-he doesn't spoil his little but he does just give them whatever if it keeps them from throwing a tantrum

-while he doesn't have many rules he hates to see his little get hurt and makes sure to try and keep his kiddo safe

-he doesn't know how to handle tantrums or if his little is upset but when it happens he will be picking up a stuffed animal and doing a silly voice to try and make the little one smile

Bebe in my head is a Libra and has a Halloween themed birthday party every year. It’s easily one of the biggest parties they have

Craig, Tolkien, Clyde, Stan, sometimes Kenny all watch the broncos together. They get REALLY into it.

Most of their ^^^^^^ SO’s, know football but don’t like so they either make food together or gossip while they watch the game.

Red and Wendy, Nichole like and understand football bc of cheer, but hate watching it with the guys bc they get too into it.

Stan’s family goes to the pumpkin patch every year as a family fall tradition thing. He dragged Wendy along when they were dating, then Kyle. They all painted pumpkins together.

Kyle, Stan, Cartman and Kenny still do group costumes together. Kyle is the one who plans it and Liane makes them the costumes.

Craig & Tweek do the sappy couple costume every year. They are also big costume repeaters.

Nichole has a crocheting “business” she just makes people things and they give her money.

Butters despite his demeanor is a big Rocky Horror fan, he goes to the interactive fan screening and one year he brought Kenny and morphed Kenny into a fan too. Kenny was shocked and probably more into Butters than he already was.

Kenny is def Dr. Frank n Furter for Halloween one year or multiple. ( and he EATSS)

Kenny works at a haunted house as an actor, because of course he does.

Most of the girls with the exception of Henrietta and Red, do fall into the Christian Girl Autumn, Pumpkin Spice Latte troupes

Kyle & Stan, and probably Cartman all also like the fall coffee drinks

Tweek loves Halloween movies, like the soft core ones like Halloweentown, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice things like that. Craig grows to like them too

Wendy sees the fall as the one time of year she can play pranks, and her & Cartman start a prank war. ( Wendy always wins )

Cartman gets a job at the pumpkin patch, so he can get first dibs on all the good pumpkins

Kyle loves to go haunted houses, and drags Stan along. Stan is a scaredy cat but goes so he can “protect Kyle”

Stan and Kyle goes to each other thanksgiving dinners.

Bebe & Tweek are absolutely viscous feral creatures during Black Friday, and Clyde and Craig are only really there to make sure neither of them get arrested 😭

Despite Butters being huge into Rocky Horror, after he goes to the screenings he skips to Christmas. He’s one of those people, so his fall like September to mid October.

ok, I’m making this post because I may never have the courage to post it again. Explaining my Universal Monster movies AU! Here we go!

If it wasn’t explained well in the title, “Universal Monsters” refers to universal studios old black and white monster movies! So here’s the background info: when I was a little kid, me and a bestie of mine LOVED to roleplay, and I still do! Over the years, we ended up making our own MULTIVERSE of all the fandoms we loved, including ourselves in their universes like dumb, nerdy, child, GODS. We could snap our fingers and “spawn” anyone or anything we wanted from our favourite fandoms! As a result of this (somehow) we decided that I’d be easier to have some people just grouped together in big households, as roommates! Examples of this would be: any and all Tim Burton movie characters are roommates, any horror movie characters are roommates, any The Twilight Zone characters are roommates, any Disney villains are roommates, (just to be clear, they are in separate houses from other fandoms, ie Disney villains would have their own house)! This is the same for the Universal Monsters! (In this AU multiverse, we also decided at around the age of 8 that my friend was siblings with both Harry Potter AND Draco Malfoy, and I am siblings with Cartoon/musical Beetlejuice. We know that’s cringe, we just never wanted to change it for… continuity’s sake I guess?? I just think that’s funny)

You get the gist, and for any of my moots or people who follow me, or even just see my posts, if I ever talk about some kind of AU of mine, and don’t list it as something like: “future!AU” or “past!AU” then you can assume it’s this “roomate/multiverse AU” that started out as a real life rolepay from me and my 2nd grade best friend! A/N: me, sitting with my beetlejuice build-a-bear by my side: anything for you, tumblr user lydiadeetzstan <3

"Alright, go nuts," you say to your younger siblings as you open the door to the arcade. While it may be air conditioned in here, which you were hoping for, you forget that other hot, sweaty kids would have packed the building with the same intentions. Trying super hard not to breathe the air in too much, you yell after them, "Remember, hydrate or die-drate!"

They run to some shooting game, and you try to find the coolest spot in the building. Turns out, the coolest guy in the building has had the same idea.

You and Steve had a bit of a repertoire going. You'd go to Family Video to pick out a movie to watch with your friends. He'd roast your choice, then choose one for you, you'd take them both for your friends to watch and write down their reviews of both movies, usually to rub in Steve's face that your friends did prefer your choice all along. You're very aware that you're not the only customer who comes in to have some one-on-one conversation with Steve, but you take what you can get.

He spots you and waves you over to join him, which you do. "Hey! Didn't know this was your scene."

"Not mine. Siblings," you gesture in... A direction. Who knows where they are. "I never knew you had any."

Steve scrunches his face. "I dunno if you can call them tha- hey!" He snaps his fingers up high as he shouts across the room. A pale, gaunt boy with a mullet flips him off. Steve rolls his eyes. "Anyway. Do I get a sneak peek at this week's reviews?"

"Oh, you mean that Taxi Driver was boring, and therefore sucked?" you smile, and Steve pretends to hold his heart in shocked offence.

"You would say that about Taxi Driver?! Okay, okay, don't tell me you're going to say that Airplane! was actually bett-"

"It had us all laughing the whole time, start to finish. At least it made us feel something," you shrug, and Steve shakes his head, taking a sip of his drink. You think to go and get one, but then he makes a hum of realisation and points out the air hockey table as he swallows his sip. "Wanna play? I've been waiting for it to clear."

You accept, trying to keep your cool. You even beat him. He insists on best two out of three. You deliberately slack off in the second game, but his gloating earns him a second loss in the final game. He pulls a face and looks for another game he can beat you at.

Every time you finish a game, regardless of who wins, Steve immediately looks for another. You make a point of making sure you can still see your siblings from wherever you are, though you do keep forgetting to get a drink. The air conditioning is really starting to struggle to keep the building full, with more and more people piling in.

One of the only games left that you haven't tried is a claw machine. Steve grins, "Oh, you know I'm a pro at these."

"Oh yeah?" you ask, scanning the plush toys inside. You point at one of your favourite animal. "Get me that one, then."

"You got it," he smirks, putting money in. "See, the trick is, you gotta really get the claw swinging..." His voice goes quiet, as does all the background noise around you. Everything looks blurry, until -

Next thing you know, you're on the floor, feeling as though you've just woken up from a terrible sleep. Everything is hazy, including the figure hovering over you. You finally make out what he's saying, "Oh god, I can't just go - yes, you, hello! Water, your coldest water bottles, as many as you can bring over, now!"

"Steve?" you ask groggily. He comes into focus, sitting on the floor with you, holding your head in his lap.

"Yeah! Don't panic, take it easy, okay?" You start looking over and pointing, trying to locate your siblings. Steve picks up on that, "Don't sweat it, I got my team distracting them, okay? They're not gonna see you like this." He helps you to sit up, using his body to prop you up as well. The employee returns with several bottles, which Steve takes off their hands easily. "Can you..." Steve makes a gesture with his hands as though he's waving somebody away, then points around the room. More starts coming into focus. All the people staring at you. Great. The employee starts herding them away as Steve hands you a water bottle and presses two more to your forehead. "Drink up, 'kay?"

You nod, gulping half the bottle down in one sip. "God, at least hopefully I've taught my siblings what not to do."

He laughs, "Not on the first date, no. Maybe like... Third or fourth."

I love egos in dresses but also i have some very specific headcannons about that. And I'd like to share them in this post.

Marvin (all the gender, any pronouns) likes any dress, as long as its shiny or eye catching. He likes both tight dress that show of his features or flowy dresses that make her look mysterious. They also prefer purple.

Henrik (he/she) is genderfluid and mostly enjoys very simple dresses. The kind you see family wear at gatherings. One colour only and mostly a sleeveless cut so she can wear a comtherable cardigan over it.

Jackie (trans, he/him) doesnt wear dresses that often. But when he does its one that could be mistaken for a tunic. He mostly wears them when its a lazy day and he doesnt feel like dressing up cuz he aint got the spoons for it.

Anti (genderfuckery, they/it) likes sleek and sexy dresses with cut outs that show off their body or with metal chains attached. It likes showing up to fights with dark wearing short dresses with massive cutouts and a loose chain harness.

Chase (cisgender, he/him though doesnt mind any pronoun) he wears a hoodie dress any time he can. He loves the ones that are blanket textured and loves flopping down on the couch for a nap.

JJ (cisgender, he/him) he wants to try wearing one but is uncertain. He is very much working through internalized homophobia. He wants to try a flapper dress but hasnt found one yet. Since he doesnt like online shopping.

Robbie (argr, bite/it/guts and occasionally brains) bite wears dresses a lot. Guts' favorite is a long dress with long sleeves that has striped pattern on it, guts says it makes guts look like beetlejuice. It enjoys dresses with fabrics that can hold back the sun and keep its prosthetics steady when its body fails

Hey! I love your Beetlejuice stories on A03, all of them are wonderful. Do you have any tips on writing the Maitlands? You write them so well, keeping them sweet while giving them depth.

you're so sweet! this got super long so its under a cut. please keep in mind that these are my interpretations of canon and you might disagree and that's totally fine!

Lemme break these into specifics for each one cause while theyre a matching set and should not be separated they're also pretty different! Barbara- the more out going one between the two of them, more willing to jump into new situations. i think of her as someone adam can lean on, and because of that their marriage is a little non traditional, despite what beej might say, since she's the one more likely to do things that scare her and sort of lead the two of them. barbara should be sweet, empathetic, and very patient, but also willing to put her foot down when it matters. she's a doormat no more. between the two of them, she's the one more interested in arts. while she might not like making pottery i think she's the more creative one - she apparently also started and gave up oil painting (the painting she smashes) i read her as someone who comes from religious trauma but that also might just be me putting my own baggage on her. she just feels like someone who would/could have been more outgoing if she hadnt been raised in a very traditional way, where women are a step below their husbands. i dont think that believe holds true in her marriage obviously but it's engrained to some degree that she needs to behave like the perfect wife/mother. this could also be part of where her anxiety about being a mother stems from (this part obviously is VERY personal to me and her character may not read that way to you, i acknowledge this i headcannon territory here) she's also willing to push adam into things that make him nervous, because she does want her husband to stand up for her. (that moment when beej is having his soliloquy, if you watch her she's arguing with adam and telling him to say something to beetlejuice, and that's the reason why adam interrupts him) in general i think she finds things that are odd and unusual to be more funny and interesting than scary - her laughing at beetlejuice's antics in the attic a lot come to mind. Adam - the more shy one. adam is someone who i read as having a fairly heavy degree of social anxiety (there are strangers downstairs! i didn't like strangers when i was alive-) and because of that he tends to overthink and be in his own head too much. adam's fatal flaw might be that he wants to sit down and puzzle through things instead of reacting. while it's good to keep a clear head sometimes you do need to react in the moment and stand up for yourself (which he learns by the end! go adam!!!) adam loves working with his hands. while barbara creates, adam maintains. he restores furniture and does woodworking. i do like to mix movie adam with musical adam a bit, because in the movie adam owns a hardware shop, and i think that vibe also fits musical adam as well. adam leans on barbara a lot - when beej is asking them to hire him, he looks helplessly to barbara, and he's always willing to follow her lead. in a sense she wears the pants, but it doesn't read as emasculating to me - barb's strength is leading and adam's is supporting. does not like to yell or wish people unwell. THAT GUY!! NEEDS!! therapy, i hope he gets the help he needs :( to me this, combined with him honestly thinking beej might be his dad for a moment, reads as someone who had a very turbulent early childhood. a negligent or possibly abusive father who disappeared early enough in his life that adam doesn't remember his face. maybe he doesnt like to yell because that's what his own father did, and he doesnt want to be like his dad. he wants to be better than that. his not knowing his father could also lead into his fear of becoming one - he didn't have a strong father figure growing up, and he's never had that behavior modeled for him

The Maitlands as one - they should be like two halves of a whole. barb might lead, but she never steps on adam. adam might support, but his own impute is never stifled. barbara will encourage adam to be more brave and outgoing. adam will help barbara keep her temper or talk through things that frustrate her. they're so in love it's kinda gross.
