Johnny 13 is the Black Racer
I like the idea that Danny would promote many of old rouges to higher positions once he became King, and this one seemed obvious to me
(I looked it up and apparently the Black Racer uses Ski's, not a motorcycle like I had thought he did. Either way, it works)
Johnny is promoted to be a representation of the Concept of Death. He uses a Motorcycle, and has Shadow make him look more intimidating when he is on the Job.
When Johnny complains to Danny that he isn't fast enough to catch any Speedsters, he has Ellie (the Speedforce) give him some of her Power so he can catch them.
So now Johnny 13 is the Black Flash.
Idk what to do with this, but I liked the idea too much to let it just go unsaid.
Thoughts?

never ceases to amaze me how ppl are obsessed with assigning other characters's traits and story arcs to Izzy to pretend that He's The Only One Who-- (no, he isn't)
'cause yk there IS a character who has a casual disability/body difference that doesn't just exist when it's relevant to the plot (and is, in fact, not relevant to the plot at all, because it's not a narrative device). A character who starts out with hypermasculine posturing and tbh kinda femmephobic, and is then quite literally cured by gay love. Who's kinda weird and goofy, but depicted as hot and desirable, because that's what he is! Who goes through a traumatic event and finds catharsis and healing, and sure, lots of that happens off-screen and could be addressed in more detail, but when has that ever stopped fandom from writing novel-length metas and fanfics. Who has a beautiful, canon love story.
And on top of that he's a hilarious, sarcastic little shit, and just great fun to watch!
(It's Pete. I'm talking about my buddy, my best friend, my specialest boy Black Pete.)
But for some reason he tends to fall to the wayside in fandom. If he's talked about at all, there's a fandom-wide tendency to make him into the shitty, one-dimensional, disney-esque clown and comic relief character he notably is not in canon - and assign his actual arc and characteristics to a more palatable angry asshole.
Hmm.
Wonder why that is.

Ar-Pharazon from the Reverse Gondolin AU and as Witch-King of Numenor - thanks to @who-needs-words for helping develop this idea!
#silm#silmarillion#second age#ar pharazon#reverse gondolin au#(well more like the aftermath of gondolin reversal)#this au has consumed my life#on the plus side inspiration for feanor is finally reemerging from under the metaphorical couch so i might get something finwion-y done soo#aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa so much to draw so little time#seriously though golden nazgul is such a cool idea#whatever the mordor equivalent for the angband trio is (sauron pharazon and shelob maybe?) is going to look so cool in black and gold#black/gold black hole shelob!!#and prince elrond is super finwiony looking#also he has his wings & glowiness out a lot more so that'll be fun#but yeah basically in the au Prince Elrond realized via foresight what was happening/going to happen in numenor#so he went there and disowned ar pharazon (by extension removing him from the throne) and crowned tar miriel rightful Ruling Queen#then later when sauron showed up he came back kicked sauron out and outlawed the death cult#but between that time sauron secretly recruited ar pharazon by promising him kingship in exchange for his support#and anyways ar pharazon survived all the way to the TA as the Witch King#(mr. angmar here gets to be second in command of the nazgul sorry)#-imagine this guy showing up to be all 'bagginssss' though#the witch king of numenor is somehow even more dramatic#also the whole 'no living man can kill me' is. a bit different coming from a guy who has many enemies in the form of#a) his cousin the Ruling Queen of Numenor#b) his uncle the choice-of-elves-peredhel#c) a bunch of Faithful in the Halls#the dead guys aren't too much of a problem#but i wonder if he heard that prophecy and worried a whole lot more about the Ruling Queens#or Prince Elrond who in the au has very definitely embraced his maia-ness#and then imagine his surprise hearing 'but no living man am i' and it coming from. a random human lady.

Hi! I'm interested in your thoughts about Sirius from the tags of your Lily post... What makes you think he didn't understand the consequences of the prank?
ty for asking! I mean mostly the fact that he never shows any real remorse for it. I'm not saying that he didn't feel guilty for hurting Remus, I think he did-- and I also think that academically, intellectually, he understood it was wrong. But in SWM we see it doesn't really change anything about his behaviour. And why would it? There weren't any real consequences for what amounts to attempted murder. He still makes a flip comment about being bored and wishing it were full moon, he's still pretty disdainful towards Remus. Even as an adult, in the confrontation between Snape and Sirius in grimmauld place he behaves extremely threateningly towards Snape, and speaks pretty negatively/unremorsefully about him unlike Remus who tries (likely out of guilt) to maintain civility.

James doesn't really display any remorse in SWM either, but well first of all it wasn't his fault and he actually did the right thing in his situation, and second-- both James and Sirius are a product of their circumstances. James grew up in a loving household with at least a father who had very Gryffindor-ish ideals. That's why I think James saving Snape wasn't just about protecting Remus like many people do, I think it was simply that the moral code instilled in him from childhood wouldn't have allowed him to let Snape die even if Remus hadn't been involved. Yeah this is an inherent contradiction considering James is also willing to torment and bully Snape, but those sorts of contradictions exist in people. Furthermore, I also think in a twisted way it was his "moral code" that justified his bullying in his mind. Snape=Slytherin=Dark Arts=Bad, therefore attacking him=good. This is a very black and white form of thinking common in teenagers.
On the other hand, Sirius grew up in a house where dead house-elves were mounted and stuffed on the walls. There are several murderers in his family tree, and his parents are proud when Regulus becomes a Death Eater. I think his ideas of right and wrong are much more confused. Cruelty is what he's grown up with. I'm not saying Sirius is an inherently cruel person either, just that it's been much more normalised in his life than it has for James. We see him being pretty casually cruel to his friends in SWM, and you'd think that if he felt guilt for what he did to Snape he'd be at least a bit nicer to/about him as an adult. 'we were idiots' is kind of an understatement given Sirius nearly killed him. Unlike James, Sirius (and Remus interestingly enough) isn't above cold-blooded murder if there's motive enough, as evidenced by his attempted murder of Peter. Which is very arguably justified, but Harry's right imo that James wouldn't do it.

Mech Cadets spoilers!
Ava, before the gang leaves to look for Liv: Are you guys sure she’s alive? Could she really survive a black hole?
Stanford: *shrugs* One time, I accidentally left a bottle of bleach next to her guava juice, and she chugged the whole thing before I could stop her. When I managed to tell her, she just blinked twice, chugged her juice, and walked away without saying anything.
Tanaka, casually: When she was a toddler, she got a hold of one of Tombo’s stars and it exploded in her hands. She only cried for about ten minutes before she got distracted by Cheerios.
Frank, with a thousand yard stare: She got shot point blank in the chest during a training exercise gone wrong and I fainted because I thought she was dead.
Maya, clearly amused: Olivia got up and told him to walk it off.

Hurting myself with this but oh well.
The Dance of the Dragons ending with most of the Targaryens dead. Aemond is King and he marries Lucerys to keep House Targaryen going. However, by this point Aemond already has a bastard child with Alys. Lucerys gives him children but none of them could rival their older half sibling that their father dotes on so much. Nevermind that the child was a bastard, Aemond treats them like how Viserys treats Rhaenyra. Lucerys and Aemond’s children grow up neglected by their own father, with only Lucerys loving and protecting them.
Since the Greens do win in this, most of the Lords support Aemond’s favouritism since they don’t like Lucerys. Although they can’t do anything about the marriage, they can influence Aemond’s bastard into going against Lucerys and his brood.
Aemond’s bastard grows up hating Lucerys and his children, believing he should be the heir and not some weaklings born from a Black. His hatred grows even more when all of his half-siblings’ dragon eggs hatched and his doesn’t.
Don’t get me wrong, Aemond does love Lucerys and their children in his own emotionally constipated way but his grudge over his entire family dying in the war stops him from seeing the divide he’s created by choosing to recognise and favour his bastard child. (Viserys-coded)
Aemond only realises the mess he’s created once he’s sitting on the ground watching a wailing Lucerys cradling their dead children to his chest.
The bastard child is killed and Lords are burnt but it’s too late. Lucerys is inconsolable and House Targaryen is once again left in tatters by the same man who vowed to never be like his father.

I imagine once Ed and his crew infiltrated the Revenge and started living there full-time, Blackbeard was all Black Pete ever talked about and it absolutely drove Lucius up the fucking wall.
It's nothing but “Wow, Blackbeard is so smart!” “Today Blackbeard was so scary it made the English officer wet his pants. It was awesome." "This is the kind of sword-fighting move that Blackbeard did the other day." Blackbeard, Blackbeard, Blackbeard.
Whenever Pete inevitably brings him up in conversation, Lucius can't help but roll his eyes. Like sure, the guy’s famous, but he is just some guy. He’s not any more talented or smart or good-looking than anyone else on the ship, really. He's hardly even impressive at all, in Lucius's opinion.
And the more Pete talks about him, the more annoyed and frustrated and bitter Lucius becomes. Especially when Pete keeps looking at Blackbeard like he hung the fucking moon in the sky. Lucius finds himself sneering at Blackbeard whenever he comes swaggering around the corner, with his fucking perfect hair and his stupid leather pants. Lucius could wear leather pants if he wanted. He'd probably look better in them too.
One day when Pete is telling him about how brave and amazing Blackbeard is, and did he hear that Blackbeard ordered someone who had insulted him to be skinned with an escargot fork? Lucius finally snaps.
He grabs Pete by the lapels and crashes their lips together in a bruising kiss, heart hammering with rage and jealousy.
When they separate Lucius is flushed with anger and Pete is staring at him with wide eyes. “Uhh… whoa. What was that for?” He says.
“I dunno,” says Lucius, averting his eyes and trying to play it cool. “I'm sick of hearing you talk about Blackbeard and it was the only way I could think of to get you to shut up.”
Pete blinks at Lucius, dumbfounded and stammering, unable to form a single coherent sentence.
"Great," Lucius huffs, trying to hide the fact that his anger is quickly melting into embarrassment. "Looks like it worked."
He's turning heel to walk away when Pete finally manages to speak again. "Wait! You, uh... you should probably do that again," he says. "Just in case."
