I have said this before but me being self proclaimed number 1 Ryoma fan and that being possibly literal-bc even if this bro had fans before me I might’ve simply done the most for him by talking about him so much + being the first to write fics that are in depth studies on his trauma across canons-I gotta say if there’s one other character I rotate a lot that isn’t him it’s probably Kei. (Shocking it’s not Hayato even if I do think about him too- but it’s usually associated with Ryoma bc gays 🗿)

I’m not even exaggerating when I say Kei would be my favorite and only isn’t because she doesn’t exist in many other canons yet my brain rotates the endless possibilities of how to incorporate her. I’ve already written a fic where she’s in shin vs neo verse which worked surprisingly well but I’ve been thinking how universally she could appear in other things. (Whether it be fitting her into a idea of a possible Go team in New or just a new canon completely) I think what I’ve narrow it down to is that she could be like- in Michirus role? Like she’s the supporting female who isn’t a pilot but helps out the real occasionally which I think would align very well especially with the original manga role she has of being Hayato’s assistant. And even if Hayato isn’t grandpa mode yet he still very much is in Saotomes position at that point. Not sure if she’d Hayato’s biological kid to further parallel Saotome and Michiru given well Hayato already adopts the Go team and his wife is irrelevant LOL.

I have no idea if I’ll ever write this specific idea but I’m still- rotating it cause this is such a easy way to get around “picking between Sho or Kei as the 2nd pilot” since both of them can still exist even if one doesn’t get to pilot, idm my supporting females. (Granted there could always be like- plot line where Sho gets hurt so Kei is temporary pilot but I can’t remember if Getter ever really did this since “once your hurt your ass is basically replaced” lol)

My boyo. He's so adorable but SOOOO deranged it's not even funny. Like how do you work for human traffickers to make up for your inescapable poverty, use your magic to turn people into puppets to sell, enchant them to participate in a whimsical musical number for no reason but your own personal amusement, tell the terrified victims over loudspeaker how shit you think they are, let yourself be enraged by a bunch of sassy high schoolers and then decide by the end of the day, to quote my dear friend Azul Ashengrotto, I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!!! How does one go from trafficking children to wanting to found a school for magicless children in the span of 24 hours. How do you manage to escape a probably exploitative work contract AND steal your bosses' property in the span of 24 hours with nothing but 1 madol and a dream? How's he going to fund this school? He apparently has to be worried about getting enough to eat. How do you just go "you're right, no more trafficking children, from now on I'm gonna commit to the good of humanity :)"

His lesson from the whole thing was "actually schools are good!" rather than "wow I feel so bad for all the people I probably sold :/"

There is not a sane bone in his body and no rational thought in his brain. His thoughts probably contain so much cursing that the sentences are unintelligible when you censor them. Everytime he speaks to a person he doesn't like, he internally adds "you mediocre little fuckshit pissbabies" or similar to the end of the statements. He has the most deranged evil laugh ever. Even when he likes you and you tell him a funny joke he goes "hehehahahaaAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAH" like he's about to kill someone. He likes having his little ears scratched. He bites though.

He's like the biggest asshole cat you can mentally picture. He doesn't just push stuff off your shelves, he takes the vases and chucks them at unsuspecting pedestrians. He's mad at you and you ask him for a glass of milk and he takes the milk carton out of the fridge and pours the entire thing all over the floor and kitchen counters without breaking eye contact. There's a collection of knives on his bedroom wall.

He's my special little guy. They want to study him to update the DSM-5. He eats the rich. He needs some money to found his little school so he gotta work in retail, scanning the customers' products at checkout and muttering "fucking bourgeoisie cockroach" under his breath. Shamelessly lists "amusement park manager" and "salesman" in his CV as if he worked at a legitimate business. He once had a mental breakdown at the grocery store after closing hour and downed a bottle of whiskey straight from the shelf and then danced through the snack aisle stabbing his cane into the chips bags out of boredom while singing "you're never fully dressed without a smile". Gidel being mute is the only reason this kid does not curse like an uncensored Rapper version of Ebenezer Scrooge.

He's clinically insane. He's the most wondrous attraction at Playful Land. He hopes the afterlife is a musical. He's Fellow Honest. This is a fake name.

and for bonus points lets say they had been happily married for decades as to add on the memories and the sudden shock of losing someone that had become such a key factor in your life.

I think I've mentioned this before, but it doesn't hurt to bring it up again. Aggre Mc is going to live a lot longer than she expected. Even with absolutely no intervention, thanks to her connection with the guys, her Soul has three major sources of magic nearby that instinctively constantly share their power with hers. It will probably expand her lifetime by a century, minimum. Her big issue isn't going to be dying; it's going to be dealing with the implications of living so much longer than she thought she would.

There's also the topic of a Soul bond. If she Soul bonds with any of the three of them, and doesn't have kids, she's pretty much going to live as a monster does (forever, unless interrupted). In Aggre, they definitely discuss the subject of her possible death eventually- and my personal canon post-Aggre is that after settling into a rhythm and spending a few decades together, when Mc decides she wants to Soul bond, the boys elect Sans to be the one she bonds with. She'd then live with them like that.

But... in a hypothetical scenario, where Mc resists everything and dies... I think this is how it would go. Obviously, angst and death under the cut.

Sans: Honestly, Sans takes her approaching death the best. Which should really worry you about how the other two would react. Does he fall apart? Absolutely, the last time he felt this kind of agony was when he lost his mother. But Sans has always been good at disguising his emotions, hiding tremendous pain under an easygoing exterior. He keeps up with the dishes, organises her end of life care, keeps contact with his friends. Papyrus would be the only one to see even a fraction of the true extent of Sans' grief. Sans is about to lose the love of his life, and has completely frozen over to avoid crumbling.

Red: He definitely takes it better than you'd expect, considering he'd have a mended relationship with his brother. But it still hits. It's cruel that the universe sent him someone who taught him how to let himself feel, then took that person away and delivered the worst pain he's ever felt.

Mc would be proud of him, though. Despite the pain, he avoids falling back into the worst of his old addictions, because he knows its not what she would want and it won't actually make the pain go away. It will just numb him to everything; including those who are trying to help. He picks up smoking again in the days leading up to her death, but he avoids the bottle.

Skull: It's hard, for him. It's really hard.

All of them knew it would be particularly difficult for Skull. They had a long time to discuss it- a long time to talk the subject over. Mc prepared stuff for him, for after she's gone... people to talk to, things of hers to hold when it hurts, exercises for him to hopefully learn to deal with it. For a while, everyone was convinced Skull was ready. Even Skull.

... But he just... he just can't do it. He can't do it. He can't let her go. It doesn't matter how many hours she spent holding his hands, how hard they all believed he'd be fine without her- it doesn't matter how much he healed by her side and how well adjusted he seems now. The moment he realises she's really genuinely dying, the journey ahead of him looks so impossibly dark, so frightening. He holds her as she's dying and he feels so small. He cries like a baby and begs her not to leave him behind.

The moment she dies, he catches her Soul. He holds it in his hands, hushing it like a scared bird and tucking it away into his chest, where he can keep her alive. Honestly, they'd have to cut him open if they wanted to let her pass on.

... But I think at that point, Red and Sans aren't exactly fighting to make him let go. In fact... something unspoken passes between the three of them. Skull just did what all of them wanted to do.

Skull gives her to Sans, who keeps her hidden away, within his own Soul. Her Soul knows his best, and will feel most comfortable there long-term.

They'll figure out something. They have all the time in the world.

Hi there!! I just saw your tags on the Vash marksman appreciation post and I really REALLY gotta know your thoughts on the fight choreography bc while I did martial arts as a kid I don’t remember everything and just extremely curious!! Wanna appreciate the thoughts put behind making this boyo!!

👀👀!!! Yes, hello! (Note: I'm also about 10yrs rusty out of practice in hapkido--a Korean defensive art that combines many styles from judo/aikido/etc, so while I may not remember all the formal terms and stuff, I can still SEE the very real and very sexy close combat choreography + randori/grapples/ground work they're smoothly throwing in there!) I've briefly tag-ranted on some former gifs I've reblogged here & here but OK, I can indulge into a little more detail! :D

Let's start with this gif, which is such a nice introductory tease!

The point-blank bullet dodging is some of that sick looking 'rule of cool' inhuman spice, but oh what's this?? 👀 The other dude is dumbly holding his arm out (non-defensively, since if that guy were smart about close fighting, he'd have his other hand up at the ready too) right in Vash's personal space, ripe for the taking - to which OH YES he easily blocks with the prosthetic arm and transitions right into a throw for the takedown. Where he shoves the fool over his shoulder with a lot more power (which is hard to do, esp from a standing position without a solid grip on any lapels either; woo he just goes right in for it), rather than using the dude's own momentum against him, since the guy's literally just standing there (as a stationary weight) rather than trying to punch him in a brawl. But LOOK what else Vash does!!! His block with the prosthetic becomes a grip that both holds/pulls onto the guy's arm during the throw and disarms the guy - by tossing his gun away, in one swift movement! :O Not only that, but there!! We see the first quick tease of him reverse-griping his own heavy brick of a gun into a tonfa position to strike the guy at the back of the neck for a non-lethal stun!!! That is SO cool!!! ;o; Some galaxy-brained application of his no-killing fighting style (using both arms + his revolver in his repertoire...oh wait, that already makes up the title's literal 3 guns *gets shot*) where it looks so fresh and seamlessly smooth af. Great stuff.

Then the Livio fight, despite him being double-armed with long-range weapons, is full of close-range gold from the way Vash tackles him, straddles him, and pins him to the floor with a (forceful!) choke to the throat (like whoa excuse me hello), but ALSO from the self-aware way Vash always has his guard up to keep both of Livio's guns out of the way at all times. D: Whether parrying bullets with his prosthetic, blocking/holding the guns away with that arm too (as shown), or even using his own gun defensively as a tonfa-shield to reinforce his blocks as well.

So then we get to THIS GIF, the same sequence that drove you insane for his smooth marksmanship tracking, drives ME insane for his immediate close-quarters holywhattheflyingshit did he just DO!?!?!?! 👀👀

LOOK AT HIM!!! Honestly it's kinda hard to see everything from how fast he goes, but I love the way he zips in there to grapple Livio off-balance, and ahh!! Look at the way Vash ducks and defensively keeps both arms up (this is SO important, because once you've trained you'll notice how in so many movies/comics' 'rule of cool' martial arts moves, they'll often have a character wildly swing their arms out to the sides to counter-balance kicks and stuff, but no--that's bad/unsafe form; bc if you're in a real fight you need to keep both arms up and ready at all times if you want to protect your core/face from getting blown off! Which just as you've noted, is something that needs to be practiced! The fact Vash has kept his unblemished pretty face for 150yrs is testament to that~) Vash knows how to simultaneously use his prosthetic AND his gun as needed--cause look at that, he swiftly holds it reversed as a tonfa again to block Livio's gun swing, which is a really cool way to use a gun as a shield to protect his own flesh arm from the incoming blows.

But that's not all, because ahaaa~ Fighting defensively is not all he's got up his sleeve! The little boxing jab he throws to Livio's face with his prosthetic arm makes me giggle, because OH YEAH that's a real thing! A type of distraction strike you pull - the same as stomping on a foot or kicking someone in the balls, to disorient your opponent off-guard first before you serve your real (offensive) move. Which in Vash's case leads up to a....O___O;;!?!? TF is THAT.

Here's where they're teasing in more of that inhuman spice again, because Vash holds Livio's guns out of the way (as usual) and revs up for a....fucking one-punch to the solar plexus at point-blank?!? D8 Whatwhatwhatwhat!!! Because that wasn't his gun's doing at all; he was still holding it defensively in that arm as a tonfa! That was his real arm's natural brute strength bitch!!! aaaahaha!!! wow I love it. The guy modestly says he's not much of a fighter but that's not trueeee at all, is it~ ;) I can SEE real proof of that otherwise and I can't wait for what else studio orange will show us to blow our minds.

*Ahem* So anyway did I ever mention how much I like the way he reverses the grip on his gun to use as a tonfa? (both defensively as a shield to protect himself and offensively to stun/strike his opponents with) For thematically how much it seamlessly works for his fighting style to never kill, for how the improvised (but practiced!) close-range practicality and versatility of it looks crazy awesome, and because damn, that shit's hot.

Ren: *Behind the wheel, a bicorn on his head, humming a sea shanty to himself* This is nice.

Jaune: *Watching over a set of heavy duty fishing poles* Thanks for reminding to take my motion-sickness meds, guys. I almost forgot them in the excitement.

Sun: *Sitting on a deck chair, brewski in hand* Hey, no problem my guy. We all got a little excited.

Neptune: *A face on a Wide-Scroll that's hanging from the cabin wall.* Yeah, weird how that happens.

Sage: *Standing with Jaune, minding the poles* Still, it's great to just be away from everything for a bit. Just us, the water, the fishing poles...

Scarlet: *On the upper level of the boat* A large boat approaching fast!

Sage: And large boats approaching fast... Wait what?

A larger vessel is making a beeline for the Raging Sloth. Before long it pulls up beside them.

Sun: We should... should we be worried?

Jaune: *Sharing a look with Ren, who slowly nods* Yes. Yes, we should probably be worried.

Ruby: *In swimming trunks, Menagerie-patterned shirt and a Patch Strikers Cap* Our dad's got the local record for most fish and biggest fish caught back home. Imma gonna get those international prices, buddy!

Jaune: Well, it's lovely of you to be here, I guess. Uhm. Where's Pyrrha?

Yang: Oh yeah... she's hyping herself up.

Jaune: What's that supposed... to... *Sees the last person appearing next to Yang*

Pyrrha: *In a red and green patterned bikini that accentuates each and every curve of her perfectly toned body, her brilliant long red hair freely cascading down her back, has a shy but radiant smile as she greets Jaune* Hello, again.

Jaune: *Blinks once, twice* Oh... Hello to you too.

Yang: Alright, dumb stuff out of the way. Let's get to business!

Various noises of various levels of excitement rang out that day.

No-one was allowed, nor had the intention of entering the captain's quarters. The noises scared everyone, but Ren was congratulated afterwards by all the guys on board.

Sun caught the biggest tuna, it was lost to the greedy, hungry belly of one Blake Belladonna who "Regrets nothing!".

Ruby caught the biggest tuna that the rest managed to keep Blake away from.

Weiss did not catch a sunburn, surprising everyone including herself.

Jaune did not get motion-sick, also surprising everyone.

Pyrrha finally got her hands on her knight. The knight is still somewhat confused but happier than ever.

A Showcase on My Headcanon Appearance for The Great Hawk (DOL)

Hello DOL fandom! I finally played Great Hawk's route after being told by many people that he'd be a favorite and... I must agree he is very cute oTL I tried looking for stuff of him in the fandom but there isn't much... and of the art I'd find, most of his designs are just humans with wings. That's not how I pictured him when playing... what I imagined was a monster design I'm very fond of from the manga 'Torso no Bokura.' (monster enjoyers please read it)

The brainrot of it was so strong that I ended up screenshotting, cleaning and compiling these collages together to hopefully have more people see Great Hawk the same as well ^^" :

some self indulgent concepts for a 20-something year old Chang where he becomes Tintin’s photographer. I wanted him to have a slightly eccentric sense of style to reflect his playful personality.

as my Area 51 post where Chang and Tintin are middle aged did well I was speculating on what would have happened between the “canon” timeline and them being in their mid-40s, just to get a better idea of what their relationship would be like! A Lot of background stuff beneath the cut, cw for mentions of racism and homophobia - buckle up boyos:

After Alph-Art Chang finishes school and starts studying commercial photography at university. On an exchange programme, he goes to study in Belgium for a year. Haddock has Chang live at Marlinspike during his studies, hoping he would keep Tintin out of trouble (and perhaps convince Tintin to finish school). This backfires significantly.

He’d bring an emotional intelligence to the Marlinspike team, as well as an outsider’s perspective on things. As he’s around Tintin’s age, Tintin feels more comfortable confiding in him. I imagine he’d have a wicked sense of humour too which Haddock appreciates, and, most importantly, he’s the guy in the group who brings a bag

He’s juggling a photography course, dangerous adventures, his job with the newspaper and a social life, but deep down he doesn’t feel like he truly belongs anywhere. He’s very aware of his outsider status, so embraces it. As a working class orphan who was taken in by a family of academics he’s used to not quite fitting in. He’s also trying to work through his trauma from his two near death experiences, wanting to Live Life To the Fullest, frequenting jazz bars and staff parties whenever he can.

Tintin is overjoyed to finally be able to spend time with him and takes him sightseeing in between adventures. A few months in he realises he’s developed feelings for him and has A Crisis - he is gripped with feelings of guilt and self disgust and is terrified he’ll lose Chang’s friendship. At first he attempts to bury his feelings, leading to some Incredibly Unhinged Adventures. Chang catches onto this and confronts him about it, and helps him overcome his self hatred. The two start a relationship in secret (Haddock can totally tell tho, he quickly makes it clear they have his full support). Chang’s photography career takes off and he starts engaging with local immigrant and LGBT communities

things seem to be going well for the two of them until a tabloid outs them publicly (could it be Rastapopolous? I know he took a tumble but maybe he survived? idk). Chang and Tintin lose their jobs and their reputations. WW2 hits and they take it upon themselves to travel around, beating up fascists and foiling nazi plots (I know the canon comics follow a floating timeline with some being set post-war but here I’m rooting things in a specific time period)

after the war they manage to find more work. Tintin finds work with a small local paper and Chang scrapes out some freelance jobs. The war shaped their perceptions of journalism significantly, with Tintin now giving more of his attention to less flashy stories, pledging to do what he can to prevent anything like the war from happening again. Their itch for adventure returns, however, when reports of alien sightings start cropping up in the papers...
