I need motivation to write, so I’m sharing all my fic ideas with y’all-let me know which ones sound good so I have a reason to open Wattpad again and actually get started. I want to write, my brain just refuses to give the happy chemicals until I have an excuse to weave those words.

Fairly long timeskip, 4 years at minimum, and just kind of exploring how everything’s changed. (Also Willark would be 100% canon and I’d probably kill off Tor for my own enjoyment.) May or may not end with a ruby ring and our favorite Merlin on one knee.

Let’s take that fluffy energy and run with it-a mixed bag of scenes that are post-kiss and pre-Mageguard, in that perfect universe where there is occasionally time to relax. Inspiration drawn from several ‘what would they do if they had the time’ posts.

Time to ruin everyone’s lives with a Sel death and Bree pleading with her ancestors to let him in, please, do whatever magic you have to, I just need to see him again, I would do anything. Unsure if Order spirits/non-blood relatives could access Mediums in the same way, but I feel like if anyone can it would be Selwyn.

Alternative BM ending of Sel not fully succumbing-I don’t know exactly what would have to change but basically he finds out about Bree’s deal (which would still happen-in this case it’s probably something close to demanding protection/stopping the hunt for her friends, idk-) and… let’s just say Nick and William don’t do a very good job of explaining anything to a Very Emotionally Unstable cambion and it goes badly for everyone involved. Partially because there’s a lot of bloodlust once Sel learns it was Erebus that took her.

Traumafluff at an Order event-probably a Selection Gala a year or so after BM/Camlann, everyone having to pretend they haven’t seen their friends suffer at the hands of the Order, it’s very much ‘we murdered SO many demons look at us isn’t this so awesome’ so I’m sure all those traumatized teens won’t be at all upset… fortunately, it doesn���t last forever, and the physical manifestation of you’re safe here doesn’t leave her side.

Alice being Alice. Just oh my god, Matty, are you even trying to be subtle you keep running off with the damn incubus-do what you want but you don’t get to be surprised when I ask if you two are a thing now-

He just walks in one day and sees you behind the counter for the first time

He's surprised

Pops never mentioned anything about a new hire

But they also don't discuss the business all that often

He just stares at you for a second, thinking how beautiful you are and how bright your smile is

"Hi, welcome in."

He returns your smile, eyes still on you even as Felipe comes out of the back having heard the chime of the door

"Oh, he's not a customer, this is my son. My oldest."

You nod and Angel hopes that whatever his dad has told you about him, that it's at least half positive

Your smile stays and so does his

"Angel. Nice to meet you."

Felipe watches his son, knowing that smile

He lets you introduce yourself, the two of you making small talk before a real customer enters and you break off the conversation to attend to them

It's that night while the two of them and EZ are eating dinner at Felipe's that Angel brings you up

"So, why didn't you tell us you got a new hire?"

Felipe shrugs, a soft chuckle leaving his lips

"You never asked. She came in looking for work a few days ago, said she wanted something a little slower-paced. She's a sweet girl, and I could use the extra set of hands. And the company."

EZ and Angel nod, being able to understand that much

It's only two days later that Angel pops up again, Felipe shaking his head as he watches Angel make a show of parking his bike right out front

Rolling his shoulders, slowly taking off his helmet

Waving and winking at you through the glass

Felipe doesn't miss your small smile nor how you try to hide it by looking back down at the chicken breast that your slicing

Angel seizes every opportunity to see you after that

Getting EZ to teach him some interesting facts so he can show off

Reading up on your favorite topics or hobbies so he can have a conversation with you about them

Jumping at the opportunity to fix things in the shop when they break

Doesn't miss the chance to take his shirt off to do it either

Definitely offers to drive you home after work every day

Will make quick detours for coffee or ice cream if you let him

Holy shit, Bloodmarked. Finished my ARC a week ago, and I still just feel like...enveloped by it. This book was so good, and every review that says you’ll be clamoring for the next book after you finish is dead right. (Oh, Bree, I hope you know what you’re doing!) Putting my preview thoughts under the cut.

“Briana Irene, forever leaping before she looks...”

Bree’s journey continues to deliver and I love her oh so much. She is an amazing protagonist, perfectly flawed and achingly real. It is impossible not to root for her. The other characters–old and new, protagonists and antagonists–are similarly well-drawn. And, man, are there some new characters to loathe! Don't worry; there are some newbies to love too. Lots of “screen time” for William and Alice. Less so for Nick.  As for Sel, let’s just say there’s a reason Sel is on the cover.

For the Sel-antis made nervous by this, let me just say the totality of Sel’s actions in Legendborn are addressed on page and then some.

Shipping: Let me preface this by saying that I don’t necessarily consider myself a shipper of either ship. BreeNick was sweet and nice and fine. But I’m here for the slow burn, and they got together before I had a chance to actively WANT them to get together. If that makes sense. Meanwhile, BreeSel wound up taking up more page-space and was obviously being set up for further exploration. To me: BreeNick felt like a plot point, but BreeSel felt like the story. So I was cool with BreeNick but not invested in it while also open to BreeSel and sort of anticipating it. I also like my pairings ironic and am down for well-done (KEY) enemies>friends>lovers. I 100% trusted Tracy’s ability to pull it off. That trust was not misplaced.

Because...BreeNick isn’t starving, but holy smokes! BreeSel is FED. Whole multi-course meals. They got me. I’m getting all squishy just thinking about it. (I mean this as the highest of praise: we’re talking fanfic levels of squee!) There’s also at least one new ship I think most will get behind.

The plot: It does start off slower, necessarily so, but ultimately moves at a nice clip and does a great job of setting the stage for the next book while standing firmly on its own. The world expands nicely and the magic system is both broadened and more fully detailed. I promise you, whatever you think this story is about/is going to happen--you are probably wrong. Can't wait to see where it all goes from here!

The writing remains amazingly immersive. Pulls you in and latches right on to your senses and emotions. Tracy knows how to tell a story, that's for sure!

And ahh! I can't wait until November when I can re-read in physical form and highlight the hell out of my ebook and re-experience it all again in audio. Much love.
