i know that i have done a good job curating my social media experience because every day i see someone saying like "people are mad at eddie izzard for changing her pronouns now" or "people keep saying that all gun owners are just hobbyists or nutjobs" and constantly my reaction is "PEOPLE ARE WHAT"
and then i do my best not to reblog those posts bc i hope one of you has done an even better job than i have and doesn't even have to hear about this bullshit

Horsemen of the Apocolypse
My headcannons of what the boys would be as the Four Horsemen of the apocopyse! I havn't seen this idea yet and I thought it would be pretty neat.
Masterlist
Paul - Death
I feel like he fits because he likes to kill, but he isn't as sadistic as the other boys
More silly and has more leeway of how his victims die
He treats hunting as a pass time, or a simple hobby
He knows that his victims will die, but he's not very worried about his victims getting away
Death isn't just dying, it's mourning, loosing, feeling intense emotions, and sometimes it causes the living to kill themselves
Those are what he call "Day's Off" since there's no day off for Death
If they were a good or innocent person, he'll appear as a comforting figure while taking their soul
If they were, say, a murder, he would kill them like how they killed their victims (He only does this on days he has more time, Death's a Busy guy, ya know?)
He knows at the end of the day, he'll get them, they'll die, and the cycle will begin again.
Over, and over, and over, and over, for all of his eternity
Living is worse in his opinion
He has a garden of souls where everybody he takes goes
If they were good, they go to their respective afterlife (It's a whole thing, he doesn't like to get into it, too much paperwork)
If not, either their equivalent of Hell, or if they believed in nothing, they serve him
They get him all kinds of things, like his book of names, the quill in ink blood, and sometimes has them work underneath the other boys
He's got too many to know what to do with, it's like his version of sims
Marko - Famine
Marko's more sadistic, he likes to watch his victims suffer
Faminem in his mind, is about causing individual suffer, not mass scale like war or death
It's tailored to each victim, earing its own challenge in a way
Marko like the challenge of finding way to starve them, not just of food, but attention, love, money, anything he can
He especially likes starving people of their looks, he thinks that people put too much into them instead of other things, like love or something else humans should enjoy.
He does this through making food rot, causing food posining
Perhaps a batch of cosmetics had an expired ingredient in it and cause a total recall since it was giving people severe allergic reactions
Or perhaps somebody relies on the attention of others, and he's caused their friends to become busy for some odd reason or another
His kiss is deadly
Since most times people get sick from touching their lips or eyes, he'll visit them when they're sleeping so as not to disturb them
Then he'll breath into the mouth of whatever disease he wants to infect them with
If it's an infection from a wound, he'll casually spit in it when possible, other than that he'll drag his infected fingernail in the shape of an "X"
War - Dwayne
There's more planning when it comes to war, Dwayne is meticulous and thoughtful
He plants the seed in people’s heads, usually through anger
Dwayne like psychologically torturing his victims
He put the thought that a another man was sleeping with a man's wife, causing a fight between the two
He pits parents and children against each other too
A mother hates her son as he acts exactly like his deadbeat father
He fuels countries feuding over pointless debts and social policies
His workspace is kinda set up like map of the world where he can zoom in on areas and specific people
He often partners with David and Marko to cause more destruction in peoples life
Marko enjoys the personal torment, and David loves the added control over areas afterwards
If Paul has an excess of workers at the moment, he'll usually give them to Dwayne as he sees Dwayne as the most responsible one
If war is going on, he'll put them as ghost of soldiers of the enemy side, tricking them into attacking
Otherwise, he'll place them into causing war between their families
as punishment for their crimes in life
Sometimes animals wander their way into their realm, which of course, Dwayne uses to his advantage
He'll send them in the form of demons to cause anguish against people, causing their friendships to turn to ruin
The animals of course return to their afterlife, which usually consists of people in the good afterlives giving pets and companionship
Conquest - David
David loves to control, it makes him feel like he's the only one with power
While he knows this isn't exactly true, as none of the other boys can function without each other, he still secretly feels a little superior
He loves having power over people, since logically, in his mind, the boys could do without him
Dwayne sorta covers the conquest part since war often leads to the destruction and rebuilding of nations, fighting over boarders, etc.
If it can't be on a wide scale, he'll usually move to companies
Funnily enough, his "idea" for Walmart is what lead to it having a huge monopoly over other stores
It's less interesting to do it to families, since the natural conquest of generations over the other won't get challenged, especially since people are more willing to talk to each other in a healthy way
It makes David sick to hear humans getting along
If Paul and Dwayne don't have a use for any of the souls, David will gladly take them in
He loves having subjects and things it's unfair how many Paul gets
He loves to watch them bend to his every will
Since his specific part in bringing about the end of the world is less work, he'll mess with the souls
David will appear in human form, as a king of a new nation promising complete control over those who wrong the souls in life
Of course it's lies, but who cares? They're dead, and it's not like they'll have a shortage of dead people

hi it's me again lol i started watching spy x family and omfg. i get the hype now. it's so good
matchup(s) for spy x family, bsd and haikyuu pls!! i added some more details
some facts abt my appearance lol: im 4'9 (i am fr), kind of chubby, brown filipino, dark brown hair. also im an istj. 5w6 based on a quiz i took some months ago.
in terms of personality, im naturally quiet lol i can't help it. even when im around ppl i like, im still on the listeners side unless i have something good to say. otherwise im sorry but you'll have to be the one to start convos 😭
my jokes are mean so im kind of afraid to joke around unless ik they can argue back jokingly. and aren't sensitive. i'm also kind of blunt to the point that it's sometimes a problem. i'll apologize obv but man it makes me a little antisocial lol
in spite of istj stereotypes, i (try to) give my criticism very gently. i try to make sure that the other person knows im not judging or insulting but giving advice. i'm blunt but not that blunt
i like helping ppl out & taking care of others, actually. i like feeling appreciated/needed by others. tbh, it's why im aiming to become a nurse if i pass the exams. if i don't, i still want something along those lines. :))
hobbies: reading (aka prowling around in libraries), watching shows, i like cooking too but idk if it counts bc i don't have many opportunities to do it
aesthetic: coquette, femme fatale sort of thing. laces, bows, frills, etc. i like everything on me modest tho
likes : coffee, any hot drink, reading (tho i don't have the mind power these days lol) , scary movies, ghost hunting videos, history docs, romance but with awkward fmcs. taking walks, and... pink.
dislikes : cluttered spaces (i can't handle stuff just being thrown around. i need even a bit of organisation. not much of a clean freak but i need to know where everything is), crowded and noisy places, non-specific instructions (stresses me out fr), not submitting stuff on time bc its embarrassing, awkward situations (ex. meeting someone for the first time)
have a great timezone!! hope ur food is always warm unless u want it cold 🍲
Hi! Thank you for your request! I took out the Bungo Stary Dogs matchup since you mentioned you've already got one before. Sorry this took so long. I hope you like your matchups!
In Spy x Family, I match you with...
Tumblr media
This was a close call between Loid and Yuri, but I think you’d get along slightly better with Loid due to his less boisterous personality.
Loid loves cooking with you and taking walks. There’s not a lot in his life that he finds relaxing but spending quality time with you doing something as mundane as walking or cooking helps him take a load off.
Very clean so no need to worry about clutter. He does his fair share of housekeeping, so you also don’t have to worry about being run off your feet trying to keep the house clean all by yourself.
Admires your desire to help people. That’s one of the main reasons he became a spy, so he values that trait in others greatly. It makes him feel like he can trust you.
Loid is amazing at making you feel needed and appreciated without forcing you to work too hard for it. You hung up his coat for him? Thank you so much. You set the table for dinner before he got home? That’s great, it means you can cook together and have dinner earlier now.
In Haikyuu, I match you with...
Tumblr media
You and Kiyoko are the quiet (and kind of intimidating) power couple. While you can both be a bit standoffish, you do like helping people and genuinely care about those close to you.
I see Kiyoko as someone who enjoys watching history documentaries and ghost hunting videos. They’re very different from what people think of when they see her, but I think she finds them intriguing.
Loves taking walks with you! There’s nothing better than being able to finish up with the volleyball team and walking home with the person you care about most.
Speaking of the volleyball team, there’s absolutely no way there’s ever going to be a peaceful or quiet moment with them around. If you’re still uncomfortable in noisy places like this, Kiyoko’s more than happy to meet up with you somewhere quieter.
Sometimes she needs to vent about school or her commitments with the team so she’s very grateful you’re there to lend an ear. Please know that she’s there for you if you ever need to talk as well.

Hey, so this is kinda off the wall, but I need to find a roommate but I'm so anxious about it, did you use a certain website? Or like do you have any roommate finding tips?
oh yeah i was super nervous about it too bc of previous bad experiences (with college apartments that were auto-matched), i guess my tips would be from someone whos only done this manually Once:
worth a shot, straight up ask if any of your friends need a roomie. sometimes things line up! didnt for me atm (aside from one friend who said "oh maybe in like 2 years but maybe not")
try and keep in mind that if it doesnt work out its not Forever if that helps you not freak out as much. like, maybe yall stay to the end of the lease and split, or if yall have to split before than eh youre just starting the matching process over again. getting that thru my head helped me lmao
as for websites, yeah there are a ton of specific roommate matching sites you can use, personally I just used facebook and posted in a couple of local groups with a lil thing about myself and I got some matches p quick. I live in a largerish city tho (austin tx) so if you live somewhere smaller there might not be AS big of a pool. facebook as a whole sucks of course but the groups here and there are useful!
I posted both in a more general group and a queer housing group, and i said a lil more about myself in the queer group, but you can also use your post to explicitly or gently filter out ppl you dont wanna live with. personally i did purposefully mention being autistic offhandedly just to hopefully filter out ppl wholl be cunts about that (made a lil comment about "im autistic and a super picky eater, so i wont eat your food lol"), you can explicitly say you dont wanna roomie who has pets/smokes/etc, stuff like that.
(oh, also, if you have a long abandoned facebook acct/need to make a new one, that can sometimes look a lil sus so maybe straight up say "i dont use facebook but i can give you one of my other socials if you want to snoop")
look around the website/group for examples from other people on what to include (max rent, apartment layout prefs, area, whether you already have a place picked out or not and if you'd be willing to apartment hunt w someone, timeframe, etc)
and of course actually say a lil about yourself in the listing. I know thats nerve wracking and all but eh, people wanna have a vague idea of you beforehand. List some of your hobbies/interests, normal boring stuff like that.
talk about how clean you are. and how clean you want your roomie to be. neat freaks and gross ppl may be Incompatible. "i can keep the common area clean but my rooms gonna be a mess" was my thing, and roomie is sameish, which works out!
make a listing, in multiple places if possible, and both see who contacts you and browse other peoples listings. this is defo a time to get over that fear of being the first to say hi! if someone lists a super sweet set up at a good price tho and gets 20 likes dont be surprised if they dont respond lmao, might have a waitlist going
(OH YEAH and if u havent used facebook in 10 years be aware on mobile theres a separate messaging app and you might miss ppl messaging bc of the stupid "pending" tab or whatever. a lotta ppl in the group specifically also commented "messaged!" on posts ig to just say "HEY CHECK THE OTHER STUPID APP IF IT DIDNT GIVE YOU A NOTIF", i found it REALLY easy to miss messages for a bit)
SCAMS EXIST! be cautious, dont just send ppl a "$500 deposit" off the bat, make sure you meet people IN PERSON and preferably talk to whoever you're gonna be renting from (like the leasing office if its an apt complex, or just the landlord) first before signing whatever someone on facebook sends u
as usual meet ppl in person in public places like coffee shops and tell ppl where you're going espec if you're going to look at the rental etc etc, same safety rules for meeting anyone from the internet
if you got any responsible adults in your life (like parents/family/friends who have more experience renting) just talk shit thru w them. maybe they can literally help u look at any contracts if you're not used to reading them, or maybe just chat w them about how shits going so they can just be like "oh yeah that all sounds normal they sound cool" or "YEAH THATS A RED FLAG".
oh yeah, make sure you READ YOUR LEASE. i know we all just Agree To The Terms And Conditions all the time but yeah contracts should be read. even if you dont read every word at least skim it, make sure u read the big things like the money numbers (and stuff like uh. how much notice the apt requires on move out. recently fucked over by that! 🙃). check for extra fees and numbers that are different than discussed. dont just sign whatevers put in front of you!!
think about how much Stuff you have. are you moving out for the first time and have Jack Shit? well, you probs wont have conflicts like "whos couch do we keep?" which is nice. do you currently live on your own and have p much all your own furniture? might be a lil issue if your roomie is also established! just st you gotta work out with your roommate, and if nothing else you could always get a cheap storage locker to set aside shit you dont wanna get rid of til you know its gonna work out long term. if its st important, maybe say it in your listing. personally i noted in my listing "i got a big ass couch i dont wanna get rid of" and my roommate specifically contacted me like "oh yeah the couch is chill" so all twas fine 👍
and like. try to talk shit out w your roomie when issues arise instead of letting shit boil over. gotta get good at this myself!
sorry for being long and disorganized but those are just a few of the things that popped into my head lol, +anyone else w more roomie searching experience has any advice on the matter feel free to chime in! im not really an expert or nothin but also feel free to ask more questions, i can at least try to answer!

hi again 🥺🥺 this is for the match ups you are doing :))
appearance :: i am 5'4 and have brown hair and eyes, though my eyes are a little green with sunlight too. i can say i have a curvy body(? and i was told i have a cute and bright smile.
personality :: when i first meet someone i tend to be very shy, sometimes i even barely speak. but once i get to know someone i open myself up a little more (still, i find it very hard to open up to things that are personal or make me sad). i could say im calm, positive and patient but i tend to be jealous a lot and sensitive over not so important things. i do have a tendency to put others before me way too much which causes me to forget about myself.
hobbies :: i love to read ! i usually use my savings for buying new books or mangas :)) i also like painting and drawing but i dont know if i should count those as hobbies now bc they are very related to what im majoring in. I love playing the guitar and listening to some calming music while laying in bed.
aesthetic :: my favorite aesthetics are cottagecore and goblincore. however in my daily life i use a combination of both + a little bit of light academia <3
likes :: greek mythology, conspiracy theories, kdramas, romance and adventure books, fantasy, mushrooms 🥺, cats, guitars, picnics, inceses, meditations, study dates, libraries, watercolors and relaxing//acoustic music.
mbti + zodiac sign :: with my mbti is kinda difficult to say because i took different tests and i had two different types as results:: INFJ and INFP. i relate to both in a lot of ways but i still find myself relating to more people or characters that are INFP. my zodiac sign is virgo, my rising taurus and my moon leo.
type :: i dont know if i have a type? i would love to date someone who understands me and makes me feel loved. who's love language are words of affirmation or/and physical touch. someone who, if he does not share interests with me or preferences in dates, can adapt and be willing to learn about the things that i like. someone who will cheer me up. maybe a little dorky? i dont mind if they are not extroverted as long as we help each other to get out of our comfort zone :)) in appearance maybe just not too beefy ah 😅 lol but other than that, someone who will respect me and will make me smile
i think that is it? sorry for making it so long and thank you sooo much for taking your time to do this 🥺🥺 have a great day 💛💛💛

Romantic Matchup
Tendou Satori

Ok picture this...
Shonen Jump just came out with a new LIMITED EDITION magazine
These things are just disappearing off shelves
BUT
There is one. Singular. Copy in the store you are currently at
Obviously you see it
And OBVIOUSLY your gonna go get it!
However when you reach to grab it your hand touched the hand of the one and only
Tendou Satori
Both of you had a deadly tight grip on this magazine rn
Neither of you are backing down
You look him dead in the eyes
“I’m sorry sir but I do believe I touched this first”
He looked right back at you
“I’m sorry ma’am but I’m pretty sure I was the one who touched it first”
You both went back and forth bickering about who should get to have the magazine
And that’s when Tendou came out with the GENIUS idea of...
Rock. Paper. Scissors.
Simple, whoever wins gets the magazine
Thus the match began
Long story short Tendou lost 2-1
Seeing his sad face you decided to be nice and offered to read it together at the nearby park
Of course he was gonna agree this is SHONEN JUMP WERE TALKING ABOUT
So you both headed to the park to read
Honestly you busted out the entire magazine within an hour
And after you finished it you two talked about it for about another hour
And shit since you we’re both at the park, why not have a little fun
You guys spent the rest of the day messing around on the playground
You know... harassing kids and shit
And when it was time to go home you both agreed to meet back up next week to discuss more manga
This became sort of a routine for you two
Every Friday you guys would meet up somewhere and talk about or read some manga
And then afterwards you two would go find something fun to do
And over time he started having feelings for you
But poor boy was to scared to tell you
But lucky for him, you also grew to have feelings for him
So YOU where actually the one to confess :D
And he obviously said yes :)
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮
Omg cheesy moment real quick
He loves your smile
Absolutely fricken adores it
Like he will do ANYTHING to see you smile
He loves how positive you can be!
Sometimes Tendou can get a little down on himself
But you can always pick him back up and get him smiling again!!
And he gladly does the same for you :)
Honesty
He likes the fact that you get a little jealous 👀
To him it just shows that you care a lot about him
Annnnd last one
He loves the fact that you enjoy manga as well :D
Because you both have something to do together that you both enjoy!
𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐓𝐨 𝐃𝐨 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫
Ok so he obviously likes reading manga with you
HOWEVER
One of his favorite things to do with you is
🥁 🥁 🥁
Exploring mythology with you!!
Honestly tendous kinda into that witchy type of aesthetic
So mythology, crystals, spirits, he’s ALL for it
One time he even invited you ghost hunting ❤️
Fun times
But I’m pretty sure y’all have a ghost tied to you 😀
𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐇𝐜
Tendou loves taking you to haunted places!
He genuinely thinks he can talk to ghosts...
He always links your conspiracy theories to paranormal activity
He loves to meditate with you
Especially before a game 😁
He says it “grounds” him
Ever since y’all met you take turns buying weekly shonen jump magazines and snacks
Ok Tendou likes painting
But he ALWAYS makes a mess
Why?
Because he specifically likes FINGER painting 🥲

When Taurus and Virgo come together in a love affair, it’s a union of innate practicality.
Both of these Signs employ practicality in their daily lives as the most efficient means to most problems.
They can be quite sincere and devoted to one another; as people, both have a great deal of integrity.
Virgo likes Taurus’s strength and dedication while Taurus appreciates Virgo’s quick mind.
Due to Virgo’s naturally cautious nature, this relationship can take awhile to develop, but once it’s established that both partners are in it for the long haul, it’s like a runaway locomotive, running on its own power and difficult to stop.
These two Signs have much in common: They highly value common sense and practicality; they’re both materialistic but work hard for the creature comforts they so enjoy.
Taurus is more sensual and indulgent than Virgo is; Virgo tends to be the inhibitive force in the relationship, tending not to get involved in the chaos of life in favor of analyzing all available options.
Virgo’s analysis leads to criticism, which Taurus can tend to take too seriously. Conversely, Taurus’s stubborn nature can get on Virgo’s nerves, causing Virgo to criticize even more!
This pair must take care not to take one another too seriously.
The good thing is, they’re similar enough that they can learn to be patient with one another, especially Virgo, who loves to indulge Taurus’s penchant for fine treatment and good food.
Their dedication to working toward the same goals.
Both partners enjoy luxury and nice things, and Virgo likes helping Taurus achieve their goals.
Their common interests and desires make theirs a highly compatible relationship.

Aria - The Opening
Tumblr media
Pairing: Hannibal Lecter x Female Reader
Warning:  Some fluff, an ity bity bit of angs (if you squint), implied smutt?
Words: 1797
Prompt: Imagine where Hannibal is dating reader and she wants to learn his native language although she is sort of aware if not suspecting that he dint really had a good childhood due to loosing his family in a traumatic event.
Summary: "This skin to skin language may be the language I wouldn't mind teaching you right now, my dear. Are you interested?"
A.N: This is for @venusdemonroe a think a first fanfic request I received 😉 Also this like the first time I wrote Hannibal Lecter and I honestly feel intimidated haha. I would like to specifically thank you @detectivehannibal for feeding me Hannibal content fanfic and inspired me to wrote one ❤️ I honestly thinking to write a smut version of this prompt, but maybe another time? This piece isn’t beta and if there’s a grammar mistake, that will be on me 😉 but thanks to @jewels2876 for the input.
---
It's not the first time Hannibal welcomed you to his humble abode. But tonight, it might have turned out into something more. But maybe you knew better not to put your hope up too high.
You accidentally meet Hannibal after the mushroom tragedy. You covered part of the investigation in a local newspaper. Less bitty as such of the Tattler.com. The second time you met the handsome psychiatrist after the opera performance marked the first time he asked you to attend a dinner party at his house. Thanks to your unwell sister that gave you the spare ticket.
Tumblr media
"Didn't think I would meet you here, Miss?" Hannibal approached you. He kissed the back of your hands while you tried to calm down your nerves. Not only because Hannibal greeted you so effortlessly, but it's also because you fell in love with the performance that night, you felt like you were still in a dream.
Being the opera's younger attendee, Hannibal was kind enough to lend you his time answering your question that night.
"I'm a bit embarrassed that I haven't done my research before arriving here tonight." You played with the clutched at your hands. Luckily enough, you had an appropriate dress in hand to attend the performance.
"There's nothing to be embarrassed about. Not knowing a new environment is expected." His deep melodic voice soothed your nervousness.
"The most important thing would be learning to adapt, and by that, I wouldn't mind helping you with such transition."
Oddly enough, both of you hit it off pretty quickly. Pretty much have the same hobby, enjoying quite similar food and the same thing when it's related to entertainment. Even though Hannibal was significantly older than you, there's no difficulty when it comes to conversation, and you are glad about that.
"Come on in." You were pulled back to the present when Hannibal put the right of his hands at your back. Guide you into the foyer of his house. It's been quite some time since the last dinner you have with Hannibal. Your work kind of required you to travel a lot and sometimes you missed his dinner party. Not to mention how busy he is with his job as a psychiatrist and helping the FBI with eccentric cases.
Hannibal helped you with your coat as he led you near the stairs.
"Would you mind waiting for me upstairs? I will bring some wine for us to enjoy."
You nodded at him and climbed the stairs. You aren't sure where to go, so you just wait in the corridor. Hannibal loves to decorate his walls with painting, and you can spend so much time looking at it one by one. A little bit different from Hannibal, you, on the other hand, were specifically into surrealism, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy other styles. One time you gushed about it so much Hannibal can't help to invite you to a specific exhibition that might be to your liking for your second date.
Darted your interest from the painting of Suzumi no Hotaru to something new by the end of the corridor, you approached it. There was an elegant chess set sitting by the windowsill, and the closer you got to it, the more you thought it might have been made of bone.
The light steps can be heard climbing up the stairs, but you don't mind it since you knew who that belonged to.
"Do you like my Bundesform set?" Hannibal stopped at your back. He kissed the top of your head and waited for your commentaries.
"It's beautiful. This one's new, I believe? Made of bone?" carefully, you pick up one of the kings and inspect it's details.
"Elk."
"You hunt?" There was a surprise in your voice although you have a vision Hannibal did that kind of activity.
"Occasionally."
A small giggled escape your red lips, but you let it die down quickly. Cleared your throat in an attempt to hide your amusement.
"You don't think I'm capable of such a thing?" There's humor in his voice.
You put the piece back and turned your body to face Hannibal. Placing your hand at the bottle of wine he has with him, you pried it out and secured it on yours.
"It's just that the image of you hunting in a full three-piece of suit popped up in my mind. That wouldn't do, right?"
Hannibal smiled at you. His lips curved up playfully. "That wouldn't do, sweetheart. You need to dress appropriately for a hunt, my dear. Shall we? Unless you wanted to stay and enjoy the bone crafted chess longer?"
You shook your head and let Hannibal lead you inside his bedroom.
Hannibal sent you an amusement look when you tried to drag both his turquoise armless chairs, facing the fireplace.
You took off your high heels and sat comfortably on the right side while waiting for Hannibal to take off his suit. Shortly after, he joined you in front of the fireplace. White shirt unbuttoned and sleeves rolled up. He carefully poured some wine in for both glasses on the table and swirled it. Let the wine warm up before it can be enjoyed.
When you have your glass of wine in hand, you snuggle to Hannibal. You rest your head back at the crook of his neck. Hannibal reached around and put his right hand behind your back in an attempt to pull you a little bit closer.
Both of you sipped the wine carefully. Savored the taste of its delicate dark berry fruits and enjoyed the warmth from the fire. Dance in the fireplace.
"It's been a month since I last saw you. Anything new?" His accented, calm voice murmured at the top of your hair.
"I missed you." You blurted, out of a sudden. Suddenly you are more interested in the rim of your wine glass than the man who snuggled with you in his bedroom.
Hannibal places his wine glass back on the table. He tilted your chin up softly to meet his beguiling hazel eyes. "You notice the absence of my presence, and for that, I'm grateful."
"Did you miss me?" One can’t help but demand an answer when the confession was made.
"I enjoy your company, and with the amount of time we spent together, I admit I wish I could see you more often.”
You gave him a wide grin so contagious that Hannibal can't help but mimic yours. He pressed his forehead to yours while he closed his eyes. Feeling content with the moment, he rarely experienced. You let your right hands travel up from his chest to his right shoulder, trying to absorb the pleasant warmth that’s Hannibal Lecter.
"I'm thinking of a transfer." You confessed.
"Didn't find a crime to be entertaining anymore?"
You shook your head. "I never found it entertaining in the first place, and I'm not Freddy Lounds, so..."
Hannibal positioned you to sit on his lap. Which was a score for you. He carefully stretched your legs on the chair while you circled your hands on his neck.
"So, are you going to elaborate more on your transfer?"
"I'm planning to focus more on opera and classical music." You received a gentle hum from Hannibal. His right hand traveled up to your spine. The backless of your red velvet dress made the skin to skin contact convenient.
"That is quite a jump."
You nodded at him. "By that, right now, I'm thinking about studying linguistics first."
Hannibal looked at you. He positioned his right hand on the head chair, supporting his head. "Language is an expression of a human being. It aided communication and helped with emotional release. It's also an attribute of a specific culture, making them unique in their own way. By that, I fully support this new journey of yours." Hannibal articulately gave you his opinion.
"Thank you, Hannibal."
There's a nervousness in the way you answered him. You are a confident woman. He found it odd that you hesitate to tell him. Hannibal shook his head, "I'm afraid this is not the only thing that is bothering you?"
 "I was thinking of studying Lithuanian language..." There was a long pause. You handle this situation like a high schooler in detention with his handsome but intimidating teacher.
"And?" Hannibal asked you patiently. He was under the impression that you weren't sure if bringing this up was a good idea. After all, when both of you spent time together, the discussion regarding childhood and past lovers were involved. Of course, Hannibal told a version of his story to some extent. He was determined to make this relationship work for both of you.
"I— I want you to teach me? I knew from our last conversation I concluded that your days back then weren't pleasant, but I feel like— if I learn it, I can feel a little bit close to you."
Speaking very gently, Hannibal told her, "People experience pain and suffering and overcome them. I would like to say that I overcame it a long time ago. Your intentions, on the other hand, are very optimistic. Although, I should remind you, my love, that it is quite an intimidating language to learn." He tried to make his emphatic statement a little bit funnier.
"As languages tend to simplify over time, I should warn you that this Language retains its ancestral tongue. Also, it has highly irregular cases. Are you ready for such a challenge?"
Your face was lit up; red lips seemed to be curled up in delight when you heard what Hannibal said. Without thinking, you moved your lips toward his. Your soft one meets with his pillowy lips. It was faint at first, just your lips and Hannibal's lips brushed together. But when his right hands traveled upon your spine and his left one secured your back to his, you straddled his lap. The soft kiss turned a bit desperate as your lips and Hannibal mashed each other. Gone was the carefulness he maintained. His tongue traced over your lips, demanding access. Your hand gripped the back of his white shirt as his tongue, and yours explored each other.
Hannibal suddenly pulled apart. The smeared of your red lipstick was stuck to his lips and some corner of his mouth. His sharp hazel eyes turned a bit darker as his left hands went down to palm the ample of your arse." This skin to skin language may be the Language I wouldn't mind teaching you right now, my dear. Are you interested?" Hannibal curled up the side of his lips, while eyes winked at you seductively. Obviously, you aim for an A in your first language class with Dr. Hannibal Lecter. There's no question needed.

Okey so Hi, me again! :)
I am actually wondering if the main characters are humans or/and other creatures?
Also, if you want to share it of course, I am wondering what relation are between them? Like how did they met and why? Maybe there's bigger purpose behind it?
*all their names have meanings and direct connects to who they are i just forget some of them
here are their character sheets and a little worldbuilding mixed in
Name: Uriel
Gender: Male (he/him)
Race/Ethnicity: Angel, Caucasian
Age: Unknown (roughly 20 in human years if I had to give a number)
Family/Ancestry: An angel created by God, hierarchy system of angels (Archangels -> angels -> humans, this hierarchy system is only specific to their Realm), no "blood relatives", angels intended purpose is to protect and serve humans while providing knowledge, wisdom, and guidance

Race/Ethnicity: Faerie, Scottish or Irish i can't decide lol

Family/Ancestry: Faeries have been around longer than the comprehension of the human mind. Mitis comes from a large family, filled with more brothers and sisters than she can count. Fae culture is deep rooted in survival, family, and trust. In their nature states, the fae are easily controlled due to their small size, so over the years with their magic, they can now present as human if they so choose

The Archangels in the Realm of Angels are in charge of looking after and governing the Realm of Humans as it is their duty to. She grew up without knowing her father, living with a single mother. She was blind at birth, but was also given the ability to see into the future. Maybe her father had magical abilities? But as far as anyone is concerned he was human too.

Appearance: tan skin, short wavy black hair (neck length), grey eyes, 5’, wears a dark blue dress with see through sleeves (a slit down the middle of the sleeve), with a dark blue hooded cape, wears a belt with her essentials (weapons, food, water, etc)
Personality: Due to being exploited at a young age for her Seer Powers (as a way for her and her mother to make money), she has grown a distaste for people and beings in general, stubborn, manipulative, cold

Sexuality: Unknown (questioning)
~~~~
Name: Indra (means warrior god of sky and rain in indian)
Gender: Female (She/Her)
Race/Ethnicity: Water Nymph, Indian
Age: 18 (water nymph years)
Family/Ancestry: Water Nymphs come from the ancestry of all women. Water nymphs are “born” during heavy rainstorms or thunderstorms. Heavy rainstorms/thunderstorms only happen roughly every few centuries due to water nymphs having a shorter lifespan (mother nature type of situation, in order to not flood the world). Water Nymphs tend to stay in one area, but the ocean is expanding drastically. Indra was born during one of the most destructive rainstorms of the century, she was the only one born that century and that’s how she received her name. She was raised by a community of Water Nymphs, she considers them all her sisters.
Realm: Realm of Nexus (Realm of Nexus is the largest of the physical present Realms on the planet)
Appearance: blue skin, plump cheeks, dark long wavy hair, purple/violet eyes, 5’ 3”, wears a tube top and high/low flared shirt, wear a bracelet made of grass and it has a little water lily attached to it
Personality: positive, free-spirited, emotionally oriented, headstrong, mischievous
Hobbies: swimming, taking care of animals, sunbathing, having conversations with people close to her, training
Abilities: emotional based powers, powers are heightened when her emotions are heightened (both positive and negative emotions), negative emotions are more destructive while positive emotions are more creative, uses water around her as a weapon
Sexuality: Straight
~~~~
Name: Lunar
Gender: Male (He/Him)
Race/Ethnicity: idk he's from the moon :), African
Age: 19
Family/Ancestry: Not much is known about space and anything beyond Earth (aside from the Realm of Angels), but what is being recently discovered is that there is a civilization on the Moon, a new peace treaty was introduced and now they are considered a Realm. No one really knows how they got there, but they are similar to humans except they use telepathic communication to reach each other. Talking vocally is not uncommon, Lunar has selective mutism which means at a younger something traumatic happened and he chooses not to speak.  Lunar was picked  to explore Earth and everything it has to offer. Lunar comes from a family of four; a mother, father, and a younger sister. Lunar uses telepathic communication, written communication, and USL (universal sign language) to communicate with others.
Realm: currently travelling between realms *an excuse to not call it Realm of the Moon 🤡
Appearance: long braided white hair, blue-grey skin tone, dark blue eyes, 5’ 5”, lanky build (but also stronger than he looks), wears white dress shirt with a dark blue vest, belt, and black pants, wears dress shoes, wears a satchel that holds his notebook and pen (his communication devices)
Personality: calm, quiet, reasonable, strategic, sweet, great listener
Hobbies: charting stars, playing with his younger sister, traveling
Abilities: telepathic, can communicate with others through his mind (with their permission), if there is a full moon, he can manipulate people’s thoughts though he's never done so, when communicating out-of-mind; he signs or writes it in his notebook
Sexuality: Straight

As for the next part of your ask, im completely fine talking about their relationships with each other and how they met (though as of rn, some stuff is set in stone and other aren't)
let's start with ships! so there are 2 ships out of the six and only one of them is romantic. lunar and indra will eventually be in a romantic relationship, they were the easiest to pair together. I first created what kind of being they were going to be. indra and lunar are inspired by the fact that the moon pulls the tides on the earth, so you could say its fate :') the second relationship is uriel and azazel, they are platonic soulmates. i had to give a lot of thought about uriel and azazel's relationship and what I wanted it to be or mean. all I can say is, is that uriel is asexual and comes to that revelation through self growth with zaz! I also thought about having mitis and sibyl have some kind of romantic relationship, but I didn't feel right so they are simply friends and who will eventually trust each other a great deal.
i like to think of them as a family: uriel and zaz are like the parents of the group (zaz will never admit it though), mitis and indra and the mischievous kids, they mess around and do dumb stuff because it looks fun, sibyl is like the brooding teenager (if this world had headphones, she'd never listen to anybody), and lunar is just the good kid parents always want lol
next is how they all met! this is actually what I'm trying to figure out in my writing right now, so its great that you asked this because I can think on it and solidify it more. the rough idea i have, is that uriel finds an old book hidden behind a wall or a bookshelf in one of the historical archives that tells a story of the future (Uriel's present) of the event of a catastrophe that hasn't happened yet, but six individuals from all 6 Relams needing to save the world. uriel is essentially the catalyst that gets the group together because curiosity got the best of him. in terms of the order they met: Uriel meets Sibyl because he was assigned to monitor her and guided her cause she was causing ruckus in the Realm of Human. Sibyl gets a glimpse of the future and decides to trust him enough to see this through, they then meet Azazel, Mitis, and Indra (though I don't know what specific order yet) and Lunar is last, and they literally just run into him as their traveling in the woods like "who are you 😳"
also yes, them coming together definitely has more than its letting on, but I'll keep it to myself for now ;)
~~~~
im still working out the kinks of the whole "saving the world" bit and whether or not I should introduce a villain to the story! but each of the main six do have problems of their own they have to solve and most importantly they have to learn to coexist because the fate of the world depends on it
im sorry this post was so long, it was probably a lot of reading, but I meant it when I said I'd talk your ear off lol feel free to ask more questions:)
Brothers anon back with ANGST at the very last question on part 2. Im honestly not positive myself how im gonna fix it. I have ideas but still. Hopefully this isn't to long.
Rans life at Mizu: For Mizu I've changed it a bit, history is still messed up to a point. But other people like Technoblade, Philza, Sam, Foolish, etc are now included with their own rooms. Ran idolized/choose Technoblade to follow. Followers of Technoblade are the only people in the City (expect for guards or police type people, though they also tend to be followers of Techno) that are allowed to freely carry weapons (after the proper training of course). Ran choose Technoblade because he wanted to protect those he loved and he was always interested in the art of fighting. He had two mentors, a women named Alma, she mostly did hand to hand combat and defense training with Ran, while a man named Fermin was a historical teacher, and taught him the history of wars and weapons more indepth than regular classes did. He had quite a few friends, though only a few close friends he often went to play games with or have sleepovers with (if you want angst, Ran was actually the one who discovered two of his friends bodies and had to report them, forcing him to go back a few times to see their bodies). Im pretty sure I mentioned it before but the brothers had a family of 6! Their mom was Ranya and was a 20% enderman hybrid, their dad was Seth and was a normal human, of course you know the brothers, their younger brother (14 years old upon death/a year younger than Ran) was named Lias and was human, and their younger sister was Memi (10 years old upon death) and was human. Ran was close to his parents, often having Ranya read him to bed and riding Seth's shoulders when he was young. He also baby sat Lias and Memi when everyone else was out, also helping them with homework and letting them sleep in his bed when nightmares happened. He loved his family and its when the murders and sabotages started happening did he choose Technoblade as his idol, to protect his family and seem intimating to whoever was doing the sabotages.
1: When the carriage finally stopped Cletus jumped out and faceplanted onto the ground, screaming about how he was finally free and away from all the awkward tension. Grievous, Jackie, and Isaac where all close behind, all having a similar reaction. While Watson, Charles, and Benjamin had a calmer reaction simply walking out and stretching. Ran was the last to get out, and he had to be dragged out by Watson, but he fought being dragged out. He grabbed the edges of the carriage and screamed while being forced out. Ranbob was calmer, and while jumping out he accidentally landed on Grievous, forcing his head back into the dirt, who then let out a muffled shout of alarm before immediately getting up and confronting a nervous and apologetic Ranbob.
3: He isn't the fastest at evaluating a situation, and needs ample time to make decisions. He also isnt the best at understanding emotions at times and sometimes needs a little push in a direction to understand. Also at points he gets into situations he doesnt know how to handle at all, at those times he almost shuts down with overwhelment, and the leadership tends to go to Benjamin for a while during it.
5: Their healing potions, so they work over time, slowly working with the body to heal and regenerate, so they take longer to fully work. Poitions work generally the same (ingredient wise), but theres more steps. For a potion of harming, first you crush up and gently mix in a spiders eye into a Awkward potion, then put it on the brewing stand for 10 minutes, then after the Poison potion is made, you get another spider eye and roll it in sugar cane until the general texture changes into a more wrinkly and powder like texture, then crush that up and mix it into the Poison potion, put it in the brewing stand for at least 30 minutes, then it makes a harming potion. The process its generally the same for all the rest of the potions, though it depends on ingredients and how long they must stand on the brewing stand.
7: I'll try doing that, thank you! Cause Grievous is a lil shit at times and encourages  violence as long as its not against him. I know you probably expect a deep answer but thats purely the only reason Grievous encourages it. It depends on what was said to Jackie, if its something that deeply and emotionally hurts Jackie, than he'd likely discourage him, instead comforting him and convincing him if he attacked the person he'll just feel worse. But if its something he knows Jackie can handle, he'll encourage Jackie to beat em up.
8: Watson went almost everywhere, the only places he didn't go was The End, Mushroom Islands, Badlands, Ice Spikes, and Gravel Mountains (he saw them he just didn't wanna go in them), and thats because he never came across them or traveled there. He has a long bamboo that he uses to wack people over the head with when their being idiots, he has a framed nether star fragment that he found in a ruined and abandoned village (he doesnt know what it is he just knows its shiny and cool), he has some fur-lined outfits from the time spent in Tundras, and he has a book where he records locations of interesting formations he found and just a general record of stuff (how much food he has, the season, days until winter, when he should go on a supply run, etc). When Watson still lived as a kid in a village, he often went to watch the blacksmith (also the farmers, clerics, and others) and when he was old enough the blacksmith showed him how to make a multitude of weapons with different materials. And now he pushes the limits of what he's learned from that and over the years to make brand new weapons. And since I'm not sure if you where also asking about Ran, Ran only went to Plains, Covered Forest, Tundra, Savanna, and Tagia biomes. He has a dagger (specifically a Zorlin Shape dagger) that he took off of a hunter when he killed them, has parts of iron armour (shoulder and chest pieces, with the pieces that go on his shins), again some fur-lined clothes from his time in the Tundra, a selfbow, and also has a book similar to Watson's, but his has notes of potion affects,crafting recipes, mobs to avoid, etc. Visiting the nether is not common at all! Infact no vists it expect travelers or people who get hired to go in for potion ingredients and building supplies. Jackie does eventually give up painting, and instead picks up the hobby of annoying people and just training. It actually goes pretty well, there are rules put in place during it to protect them, but other than that its generally the same as the one played in our world. Jackie wants to vist those biomes because he thinks there cool, and thinks their good starting biomes to vist for a beginner adventure. Yep, Ran says its way to dangerous to go to the nether, especially with almost no one knowing how the nether works. Though actually Watson wants to bring the others into the nether, saying its a good learning experience and no one will learn how to survive if they dont go. Ran still agures its too dangerous though, citing the Piglins and Ghasts as evidence, but eventually, after much begging and negotiations, Ran agrees to let them go. They just need to listen to Ran and Watson teach them about the nether and follow everything they say to a T while in the nether.
9: Jackie screamed while being thrown, but after that and a bit of stunned silence, he jumped up and demanded for Ran to throw him again. So he enjoys being thrown, and sometimes he specifically requests to be thrown, so he can curl into a ball and slam into people like a goddamn canon ball. Porkius was also shocked into stunned silence, but after he saw Jackie get back up and demand to be thrown again, he just started bellowing in laughter, you could hear his laughter even echoing a bit outside of the Pit.
10: Then you may be happy to know, but I believe at the end I'll make it so after the brothers have fixed their relationship, their still being haunted by Dream, and eventually the decision gets made to go back to Mizu and face him. Where Dream has actually escaped (Due to a big group coming in, and him being able to convince them to take the Mask with them) so now they have to hunt him down. And when they finally find him you can bet someone (or multiple people) are going to punch him.
12: He does tell the fishermen about these thoughts once, but the fishermen sadly fail at comforting him and changing those thoughts, so he decides to keep it inside and suffer in quite. Though 2 people do see his suffering, Ran and Grievous. Grievous is debating if he should step in and ask what's wrong and if he can help, while Ran just watches (though he does feel some hurt watching his brother suffer, though he denies it).
13: They all had a blast there, Charles showed Jackie how to make flower crowns, then they went and made one for everyone else, Ran just laid in the grass and tried to relax, Ranbob eventually joined in with the flower crowns, Watson was telling Grievous all the meaning of flower colors and what certain flowers stand for, while Isaac and Cletus chased eachother around and eventually got Jackie, Grievous, and Watson involved in a game of chase. They did leave after a General battle, as that was one of the things they had to do for Porkius to approve of them leaving. Porkius still wants them back in less than 5 years, though they can take like a year or 2 longer max. Jackie is technically a general, though the general title he has is specifically only for the Pit matches and instead is more of a like final boss title.
14: Again its very much like a abusive relationship. Ranbob believes Dream has changed because of distant whispers from Dream (only happened while they still lived at the fishermen house which is kinda-close to Mizu) promising he has changed and he truly wants to help Ranbob, and saying how he can help Ranbob be of more use to the fishermen and since Dream did actually help Ranbob at first, he wants to believe him. But once they get futher away from Mizu, the whispers disappear, only rarely appearing in his dreams. Cletus doesn't really help, not because he doesnt care but more because he doesn't know how to help, he knows its a very delicate situation and saying or doing the wrong thing could hurt more than help, so he decided to play it safe. Charles tries to help, though he provides more physical help, like hugs to ground him or showing him how to breath again, while Benjamin and Isaac tackle the more internal issues and do so comfortingly and gently. Making it so Ranbob only notices their actually helping when he starts to do things on his own and no longer has such strong and often urges to return to Dream.
15: One night when Ranbob is off getting firewood and Ran is off checking surroundings to make sure its safe, the Hunters actually get into the camp and holds everyone at sword and bow point. Ran sees them when coming back and actually, though hesitantly, decides to wait for Ranbob to come back. And once Ranbob is back the two make a plan to rescue them, which goes mostly well. Ran gets shot in the stomach and Ranbob gets a sword through his arm, but other than that they do manage to rescue them. Watson jokingly says how they've finally made progress and that they can now work toghere without fighting now, Ran growls at this and storms away, denying it, but Ranbob just nervously shuffles and sits down, letting Charles tend to his wounds, as Jackie chases off after Ran to tend to his wounds. I really want them to stumble across the Wild West ruins and maybe The Masquerade ruins but im not sure how I'll get them to either.
1: Haha, ouch. Poor Ran. Nice backstory though. I can only imagine how he must have felt, coming across those. Does him choosing Techno have anything to do with him choosing to enter the Pit? Also how did Ranbob feel about killing his family? We’ve talked about the guilt about hurting Ran and stuff, but about the ones who weren’t as lucky to escape?
2: That sounds like...a scene. Funny, but probably not until a few days after it happened for the people who actually had to go through it.
3: Is Isaac the type to get overwhelmed easily? But very nice to see Benjamin helping out!
5: So basically just tossing some real life logic in there? Hmm, interesting.
7: Hope it helps! Nope, no deep answer. That’s about what I expected actually. Grievous has that energy, y’know? Also, very sweet of Ran to comfort Jackie. Does he ever get revenge on Jackie’s behalf? He doesn’t strike me as the type to let that go, especially if it actually hurt somebody he cared for. Him otherwise encouraging it..yeah, sounds about right. Gremlin children.
8: Sounds like he’s really been a lot of places! He must know a lot, huh? Also, he just...wack? Cause that’s kind of funny. He watched others beside the Blacksmith? Did he learn anything from them? Ran personally sounds very intimidating. Though if he has potion notes, does he often make them? Is there a particular reason Nether travel is no longer common? Also, would the gang ever happen to stumble across ruins from the time of the Smp? Cause that’d be kind of cool. Jackie’s new hobby sounds very nice, I hope he has fun doing it. How long does it take before Ran deems everyone ready for the Nether? And do the Fishermen also go through, or do they prefer to stick to safer grounds?
9: I bet the first time the fishermen saw that show they were surprised. And honestly, Porkius, I’d laugh too.
10: I am happy to know that! Well, not the escape bit, but the punching, for sure! You go, guys, punch that neon green slimeball!
12: Oh no. Does Grievous ever step in?
13: Sounds like they had a good time, I’m happy for them. And a final boss title? Is Jackie like a final boss? What differs between them fighting as the general, and as a typical gladiator?
14: Hm, that’s not good. What is good is that he’s getting away from Dream’s influence. Did that have anything to do with the group deciding to head to Subbin?
15: Well, progress is progress! Surely it’s a step in the right direction, right?
Also, not really a Brothers AU question, but as you may have noticed, I pinned a post of all the AUs on here, and I was wondering if you’d like me to put yours on there too. Obviously, I’d put it as yours. I wanted to earlier, but I figured it would be better to ask, so tell me your feelings on that.
Okayyyy. Seatbelt on, space cadet! I'm gonna take you on a loooong journey ✨
First of all hello again! I'm here to request for a Haikyuu romantic Haven Box if there's still a spot left. Take your time tho, I'm good at waiting 🙌🏻
here we gooo. so I'm an 159cm pansexual asian girl. I'm a little bit on the chubby side. I got long black wavy hair and I always let it down. People say I look rude and cold so they are afraid to befriend me at first (some even hate me for no reason.) I mean its not my fault that I borned with this resting bih face 😭💔 I love wearing dark colored clothes, high waisted jeans and Sneakers.
I do wear makeup, and my favorite lipstick color is red. Like a really bold red. That's like my trademark.
for personality, I'm an enfp, taurus, gryffindor (big yikes!); I think I'm a pretty openminded person. I'm not afraid to speak up and I will fight (both using words and fists) for what I believe in. People see me as someone confident and to look up to; Tho honestly I'm pretty insecure with myself. Like I find nothing good about me and got depressed easily. Its like I have this happy clown persona everytime I'm outside my house and once I go back to my bedroom by myself its all the sad clown hours haha. ooh- this is getting kinda heavy. 😵 But anyway I care about my family and friends a lot. Their happiness is actually more important than my own. So I'd do anything to help and protect all of them.
My hobbies are sleeping, singing and watching horror movies/true crime documentaries; and yes I got scared after watching those stuff so I ended up searching for some broadway musical 😂😂 I also love to play games; otome games, cause my love life sucks *coughs*
Some facts about me!!
I believe in soulmate. Just the thought that we all have someone created specifically for us is making me happy 🥺❤
I'm a touch starved person. So I like doing skinship and PDA. I just love being spoiled and showered with love I guess 👉🏻👈🏻
I hate spicy foods, cause it really burns my throat. and I also hate lizards. They are gross and weird 😭😭
I believe ghosts are real and I'd definitely want to speak to them someday. Just asking them how does it feel to be a ghost? Is there a way to help em stop being a ghost? (Only with the nice ghost of course) 👻💕
My favorite song is Helpless by Phillipa Soo and if that doesn't show how much of a Hopeless romantic I am then idk 😂😂
I love watching tarot cards reading.
I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers trope and I can't stop this addiction. Like aaaaa its cliche but I love em so much ashdjflgl
Okay thats it! I need to stop talking before my ask give you some real headache 😂 I wish all this information helps you write a little bit and not bother you in one way or another!! Have a great day and stay healthy in this pandemic situation 🙌🏻✨ see yaaaaa~☆
No matter what
Oikawa Tooru is the grand king of Seijoh. He was handsome, smart, and all that. He was very athletic and observant. He gets along with everyone and anyone. He could get any girl to swoon to him but he is only loyal to volleyball and Iwaizumi. And that’s what people thought, but this king has fallen off his throne. He, has fallen in love and doesn’t know what to do. It started with the little things like seeing how she loves skinship or how she hates spicy food. He thought it was normal, he was observant after all. But as time passes, he realized that he might be falling. He tried and tried to avoid it, knowing that it might just hurt him in the end anyway. He knew that he wasn’t going to be able to fulfil what was in her heart because he would always choose volleyball. Oikawa had a girlfriend once, she left him because he wasn’t good enough, and he didn’t give her enough of his time.
Oikawa did not want that to happen again. He didn’t want his heart torn into pieces yet again. But still, he fell deep into the rabbit hole called love. And he hated her for it, becoming her enemy for no reason at all. But, fate seemed to be in his side. Soon enough the “mortal nemesis” relationship faded away and love soon blossomed. It wasn’t as smooth as most people would say but it’s still a beautiful sight to behold. The way Oikawa looks at her with so much love and passion, it’s breathtaking. The way that she would cheer for him no matter what, it’s alluring. A love so pure that it seems surreal and impossible. From then on, the great king knew that she was thee one. He knew that even if he was too busy, she would understand. He knew that she would always be by his side no matter what the cost is.
And he knew that no matter what happens, he would always love her. Volleyball may be his priority, but he will soon get out of it. Slowly but surely, the walls he built was crumbling away. Slowly but surely, his distant exterior grows into an attached and close koala. Oikawa’s train of thought was then shattered as he heard someone calling out to him. “Oi Shittykawa, why the hell is your face like that?” Iwaizumi said as he cringed at the sight. “Geez Iwa-chan, can’t a guy think about his soulmate in peace?” He then responded as he glared at the shorter male. “We have a game to play, Stupidkawa. And if you miss her so bad, why don’t you go to her at the stands and talk to her?” Iwaizumi said as he glared intently at his best friend. “I have a better idea,” Oikawa said as he stood up. His eyes wandered around the bleachers to find his one and only. And soon enough, he was able to see her long black wavy hair and her beautiful eyes. “Princess!” He yelled.
The female then smiled and waved at the player adorning the cyan colors with the number one. “Yes, my prince?” She yelled back. “Oh! My darling Princess! I love you with all my heart and know that no matter what, I’ll still be in love with you,” He yelled. The stadium awed at the interaction. Oikawa now found his one and only, his soulmate. And he would never let go, no matter what.
Author's note
Hello there! I'm so sorry for doing this quite late. Since exams and school and all that.
I hope you enjoy this matchup nonetheless! And I also made sure that the drabble was a bit different and unique to make up for it. Since I decided to try out a new way of writing.
🍳 🥞 💕 👑 for Amikel Blair and Zoe 😘
You went for the throat, Mel lol. Thank you for the ask love!  😘
🍳 - Can your OC cook? Are they any good at it? If so, what’s their specialty? If not, why not? And how do they survive if they can’t?
Amikel: Barely, if at all, in complete and total honesty. Girl will drink a whole bottle of alcohol and call it a meal. Din doesn’t even know how she survived all this time (she ate at the bars she would hang in in between bounties and jobs), but it is what it is. Amikel was orphaned at a young age, so cooking isn’t something that was really taught to her. She does what she can to get by, and the best she can do is hunt and heat something over a fire (maybe overcook, but we don’t talk about that) to survive if needed.
Blair: She can! Her mother and father taught her how to, and she genuinely enjoys it. I would say her specialty is her crepes because she loves them so damn much, but she’s honestly rather good with seafood. But she makes killer meals when she can, to be honest. She doesn’t always have the time to do it, because that girl is always working on something or is too bothered to take the time to do a huge, awesome meal like her mom does. But she’s a great cook.
Zoe: Okay, so, she knows the basics. She can throw a simple meal together, sure. Does she? No. She has a tendency to opt for takeout or fast food, but she makes it up with exercise routines. She boxes and works out a lot, which...I suppose balances it out a bit. But Zoe isn’t really bothered with cooking unless she has a rare night where she finds herself not being pulled for work...which is saying something for a detective in Detroit.
🥞 - Speaking of food, does your OC have a favourite dish, or perhaps a specific comfort food? And do they have a favourite cuisine? (i.e. Mexican, Indian, Chinese etc)
Amikel: I’m not sure, to be very honest with you. She’s not really...a picky person, Amikel will literally eat anything (something, it seems, her and Grogu have in common). She’s more likely to be seen eating soup or just the food most bars on any planet will offer. When you live the way she does, you just learn to eat what you can...besides, she’s a bit too drunk to really tell what it is half the time.
Blair: Crepes. She loves crepes, or just breakfast food and sweets in general. Breakfast is honestly the meal she doesn’t skip, even if it’s a bit small from a café when she’s grabbing her coffee. Cinnamon buns are a comfort to her too, especially if they’re nice and warm. She does love French and Italian cuisines, if you wanna take her on a date, that’s the best bet.
Zoe: She’s honestly eating takeout most of the time, so General Tso’s chicken is her go to for Chinese cuisine. Although, she honestly has tried a little bit of everything, she loves dumplings for sure. Mexican is another. But she usually just gets a burger meal at her favorite burger joint and calls it a night while going over case files. You can’t go wrong with that at all. Greene has shown up plenty of times with food for her when they’re working late.
💕 - Do they fall in love easily, or is it a slower process for them?
Amikel: Oh hell no. Girl is guarded like she’s wearing Beskar (see what I did there?), and she’s proud of it. It’s hard to get to her, but honestly, she’s a softie on the inside. Once you get past that hard exterior, she’s more vulnerable. But her falling for someone is a slow process, mostly because she has to be sure she can trust and respect you. If she can’t do both, then you have no chance whatsoever. Good luck with that.
Blair: Absolutely. She can’t help it, when someone catches her eye, they really catch her eye. Now, its not like she’s falling all over the place, not at all. Blair is very much in her own little world--her being a vigilante/superhero, working with more than one team, seemingly constant travel, and just making enough time for her friends and her loved ones and her work/hobbies. It takes something more to catch her eye, and when it does, it doesn’t go away. It’ll nag at her and build, depending on the exposure and how the interactions go. If it’s all good, she’s quick to fall, even without realizing it.
Zoe: I think yes and no. She likes to think that she doesn’t fall that hard, but that’s mostly due to the fact she’s gone on some dates and nothing came of it. Zoe sees that as her not falling easily and being slow in it, when honestly its because she’s thrown herself into her work since Bobby left Detroit. She’s had a crush on him since high school, which seemed very unrequited, and it’s a crush she thought died, but it never did. There might be a part of her that won’t admit that the reason the dates didn’t go well was because she was subconsciously comparing them to someone else...and she fell for Bobby pretty quickly. Just saying.
👑 - Does your OC have a reputation, either at large or within a specific group? And is it accurate?
Amikel: She has a notorious reputation to those who are aware of it. It’s not completely well-known, because Amikel isn’t stupid. She’s not going to end up like Fennec with a bounty on her head, no way. But those who have heard of her work and know what she’s capable of? They keep their mouths shut and steer clear. She might seem like nothing but a drunk, washed up bounty hunter, but looks can be very deceiving. Amikel is either seen as just that (which sure, the drunk part has weight to it) or you know her as a Shadow to be feared, and that part is very much correct. She’s had training...good training...and it proceeds her to those that know. People who blab don’t often live very long afterwards.
Blair: Her reputation is something that’s dependable and consistent, and most people see her as someone they can count on and who is good. And yes, that’s accurate. Blair is widely known to be well-off in her field, and has great credibility as an astrophysicist. As a hero, she’s known to be logical and good, often doing what’s right and being problem solving. But of course, there’s the blip in her reputation that she’s extremely dangerous, unstable, and should take caution...which is tied to her going supernova. Blair reaches a point where she has that in check, it’s not as likely to happen, but that mark doesn’t wash away. Certain people (Rip, John Diggle, Amaya for a while, and Dinah) keep their distance because it worries them, and sometimes, people have a harder time trusting it.
Zoe: In a way, yes. Her reputation is known on the streets that she is reasonable, but can be a tough hardass when needed. Listen, she’s a cop in Detroit, that’s not for the soft. And most people that knew Zoe, often see her as a quiet person with no backbone, and that reputation is inaccurate. Her silence or kindness isn’t weakness, and she will twist your arm and slam you against the hood of her car before you can even blink. Girl has guts and isn’t one to back down. The neighborhood knows her pretty well, her reputation isn’t really hidden if you ask around, and the community (for the most part, at least) like her because she gives back to it, and even does self-defense classes or boxing classes to those who want to, and often times with the kids. There are just some people you don’t fuck with as a rule, and she’s one of them...despite the fact that she is, in fact, a cop.
Felassan/f!Lavellan: Imshael
Chapter 14 of The Love That Grows From Violence (Felassan x Tamaris Lavellan) is posted!
In which a lot of lore is discussed, including the story from Tevinter Nights that’s narrated by a character named Hollix. A note before we start: Hollix is a master of disguises whose gender identity is non-binary or fluid, but in this fic, I have Dorian calling Hollix ‘she/her’ because that’s what Dorian calls Hollix in the Tevinter Nights story — he gets the impression that Hollix is a ‘she/her’ based on Hollix’s disguises, an impression that Hollix doesn’t correct because they easily and cheerfully slip into either gender identity/role as part of their position as a Lord of Fortune.
~6000 words; read here on AO3 instead.
**********************
“Listen closely now,” Dorian said jauntily. “My story begins with a series of unsolved and rather gruesome murders that had been going on in Minrathous for some time. Rumours had started to circulate that the perpetrator was a creature that came to be called the Cekorax.”
“Cekorax?” Varric asked. “What does that mean?”
“It’s a butchering of the old Tevene word for ‘headsman’,” Dorian said. “The creature earned this charming name because its victims were all found without their heads.”
Tamaris grimaced, and Felassan laughed. “This story is exciting already.”
“Not quite so exciting for those who lost their heads, but I digress,” Dorian said delicately. “No one was doing anything about it, unfortunately, especially since the beast hadn’t attacked any of the altus class yet. So I put out a bounty for the perpetrator’s head, and the person who came to my aid was a wily little thing whom I’ll affectionately call Hollix.”
Tamaris raised an eyebrow. “That you’ll call Hollix? What was their actual name?”
“I haven’t a clue,” he said cheerfully. “I called her Hollix on a whim. She decided to keep the name while she was in Minrathous, and who am I to argue with the adoption of a silly nickname?”
“Fair enough,” Varric said.
“Of course you’d agree,” Dorian said drolly. “In any case, Hollix did some unsavoury investigating for me — for a fair price, of course — and discovered that the creature doing all the killing was…” He sighed. “Frankly, it was a creature of unearthly and uncanny horror. And you know I don’t say this lightly, considering all that we’ve seen together.”
“No kidding,” Tamaris said flatly.
Felassan sat forward and rested his elbows on the table. “What did it look like? This uncanny creature of horror?”
“I can only tell you so much firsthand, as I was high above the action when the creature presented itself,” Dorian said. “But Hollix described it more fully. It was…” He hesitated for a moment before going on. “It was an enormous fleshy mass as large as a house that was able to peel parts of itself away to produce… tentacles. Unbelievably long tentacles bearing human eyes that it had stolen from its victims’ heads.”
Tamaris exchanged a horrified look with Varric. “So it just took the victims’ eyes?” she asked Dorian.
“Unfortunately, no,” Dorian said. He sounded very serious now. “In the deepest part of this fleshy mass, it was harbouring the heads of all of its victims. Over two dozen heads, Hollix said — all perfectly preserved as though they were still alive. And the monster was… animating the heads. Speaking through their mouths.”
A cold ripple of revulsion ran down the back of Tamaris’s neck. “Oh fuck,” she breathed.
“Shit,” Varric muttered.
Felassan narrowed his eyes. “It was speaking through the heads? Using their mouths to express its own thoughts?”
“Apparently,” Dorian said. “Hollix said it was trying to lure her into joining it. To ‘keep her safe’, it said.”
Felassan leaned back in his chair and tapped his fingers on the table. “So it seemed to have motivations of its own. That’s fascinating.”
Tamaris tilted her head. “Do you know something about this?”
He grinned. “Are you asking if I’m responsible? That hurts. I’m clever, but I’m hardly diabolical.”
She tsked. “Of course I don’t think you’re responsible. But is it an ancient monster or something like that?”
His smile faded slightly. “I… honestly can’t say.” To Dorian he said, “How did you defeat this creature in the end?”
“An ingenious plan that I regret to admit was not mine,” Dorian said. “The creature had entwined itself in one of the city’s finest public gardens, which happens to be just below my apartment. Hollix cleared the gardens and exploded the fountain with gaatlok so the creature was drenched, and Maevaris and I electrocuted it from the upper balcony of my apartment.”
Tamaris raised her eyebrows. “So wait, you weren’t even in the garden during all this? I thought you said you were involved in the disgustingness.”
“I was involved,” he said. “That doesn’t mean I was in it. Can you imagine?”
Tamaris snorted in amusement. “You’re such a spoiled noble.”
“I do miss your loving insults,” he said. “In actual fact, though, Mae and I had to keep distant so the monster wouldn’t suspect anyone else but Hollix was involved. I do feel sorry for Hollix though, poor thing. The creature popped like an enormous filthy balloon when we zapped it, and she got rather, er, moist in the process. When all was said and done, only the creature’s skin was left behind.”
Varric grimaced. “Like a sausage casing?”
“Ugh,” Dorian said. “That’s what Hollix said. Believe me, you wouldn’t be thinking about food if you’d seen what I had.”
Tamaris looked at Felassan. “So? Does it sound familiar to you?”
He twisted his lips. “Yes and no, actually. It almost sounds like one of Ghilan’nain’s delights, but not completely.”
Tamaris blinked in surprise. What did Ghilan’nain have to do with a horrific murderous monster in Minrathous?
“Ghilan’nain?” Dorian said. “Isn’t that one of the Dalish gods? Er, so to speak.”
“Yes indeed,” Felassan said. He raised his eyebrows at Tamaris. “Would you care to start us off?”
She groaned. “Do I have to?”
He chuckled. “No, you don’t. But it would be informative for everyone.”
“Uh-huh,” she said skeptically. Then she addressed Varric and Dorian’s crystal. “The Dalish say that Ghilan’nain was the mother of halla, and the goddess of navigation and wayfaring. She was actually a mortal who was raised to the status of a goddess thanks to Andruil, who’s the goddess of hunting.” Then she frowned at Felassan. “But in the Temple of Mythal, we found an old inscription that Solas translated. It said that Ghilan’nain created all kinds of creatures, but the creatures ran rampant through the elves’ lands until the Evanuris offered her godhood in exchange for destroying them.”
Felassan grinned. “Fen’Harel translated that for you?”
“Yes, he did.”
Felassan chuckled. “I can just imagine him screaming on the inside while he read that to you.”
She offered him a slightly bitter smirk, and he folded his arms. “Well, that inscription had the right of it. Like all the Evanuris, Ghilan’nain was a powerful mage, and her favourite hobby was creating new forms of life.” He held up a finger. “Wait, I should be specific: she created new forms of life from ones that already existed, blending and forming them into new creatures that were increasingly spectacular and powerful.”
Tamaris harrumphed. “Until the Evanuris got sick of her shit, it seems.”
Felassan smiled at her. “Blunt as always, avise, but yes. This was before my time, but my understanding is that Andruil became enamoured with Ghilan’nain, who created increasingly insane creatures for Andruil to hunt. Andruil praised her efforts, which spurred Ghilan’nain’s experiments on.” He smirked. “They encouraged each other’s insanity, just as any good couple should.”
Dorian chuckled, and Varric ruefully shook his head. “Very romantic, Jester.”
“I am, aren’t I?” he said. “In any case, Andruil and Ghilan’nain’s… activities eventually drew concern from the other Evanuris, who offered to raise Ghilan’nain to the status of a goddess if she destroyed her more disturbing creatures. By that time, she had already gained a measure of infamy among the people, so it took little propaganda for them to believe she was a goddess like the others.”
“Let me guess,” Dorian said. “Her experimenting didn’t stop just because she became a goddess.”
Felassan widened his eyes in mocking surprise. “How did you know?”
Tamaris folded her arms. “But you don’t really think that this Cekorax could actually be one of Ghilan’nain’s creatures. That would mean it was thousands of years old.”
Varric shrugged. “It’s not impossible, Cuddles. Think about some of the old shit we’ve encountered. Corypheus, the Titan…”
“A certain person in this room,” Felassan said blandly.
Tamaris snorted a laugh, and he winked at her. Then Dorian spoke through the crystal. “Whether this creature is new or old, what was it doing roaming around beneath Minrathous?”
“That is an excellent question,” Felassan said thoughtfully.
“Can you answer it?” Tamaris asked.
He shrugged. “I can try.” To Tamaris and Varric he said, “Recall that I told you about Mythal’s Sentinels, and how the other Evanuris sought warriors who were equally dedicated and fierce?”
“Yeah,” Varric said.
Felassan nodded. “Ghilan’nain’s efforts involved attempts to make hybrid… species that would be good fighters and soldiers. And her experiments didn’t just use non-sentient animals anymore.”
A cold stone of horror dropped into Tamaris’s gut. “She started experimenting on slaves?”
“Yes,” Felassan said. His manner was completely serious now, without a hint of levity. “From what we gathered at the time, she wanted her… creations to have some level of sentience, but not so much that they would try to rebel. Which is why I wonder if this Cekorax wasn’t just a simple monster, but a monster possessed by a spirit, since it sounds like it had more… motivation than Ghilan’nain’s surviving creatures had.”
Varric sighed and rubbed his chin. “A possessed monster? As if a regular monster wasn’t bad enough.”
Felassan didn’t reply, and Tamaris looked at him; he had an oddly absent-looking half-smile on his face.
“What?” she asked. “What’s wrong?”
He met her eye, then let out a little laugh and shook his head. “Oh, nothing. Just an idle thought, really.”
She narrowed her eyes, but Dorian spoke before she could press Felassan further. “This still doesn't explain why one of Ghilan’nain’s creatures might be roaming around beneath Minrathous now.”
Felassan sobered once more. “Ghilan’nain had multiple hidden… laboratories, for lack of a better word, where she was creating her so-called soldiers. I don’t know where they were located as her activities weren’t my particular area of focus, but if one of Ghilan’nain’s laboratories was recently… activated, or disturbed, then it’s possible that this Cekorax broke free.”
Dorian sighed. “The murders started shortly after some surviving Venatori opened an underground cavern of some kind.”
Felassan grimaced. “That could explain it. You should probably look into where that cavern was, in case you start getting more lovely visitors from the deepest pits of Ghilan’nain’s twisted imagination.”
Dorian tsked. “Fasta vass. Of course. We’ll look into that.”
“Felassan,” Tamaris said.
“Yes, avise?” he said pleasantly.
She frowned slightly. “You mentioned that you thought the Cekorax was possessed by a powerful spirit.”
“I did, yes.”
“Do you know the spirit that might have been possessing it?”
A slow smile lifted the corners of his lips. “Why do you say that?”
“Why are you dodging?” she said quietly.
His smile faded. “Force of habit,” he said ruefully. “I apologize. I did wonder if the spirit might be one that I was acquainted with in the past.” He smirked and rubbed his chin. “Possessing a many-headed and many-eyed monster that can shape itself at will would be in keeping with this particular spirit.”
“What spirit?” Tamaris asked.
“It called itself the Formless One,” he said. “As you can probably guess, it didn’t have any particular shape that it preferred, nor a name to go by.”
“A name?” Dorian said in surprise. “Spirits have names?”
“If they want one, certainly,” Felassan said. “Though many of them are boring and keep the name of the virtues they embody.” His tone was bland once more, and Tamaris shot him a chiding smirk; he was clearly taking a jab at Solas.
Dorian’s voice was keen with curiosity through the sending crystal. “What are some of the spirit names you’ve known?”
Felassan casually laced his fingers behind his head. “There was an amusing group of spirits who were banished from Elvhenan long before I was born. Or were supposed to have been, at least,” he added with a smirk. “The Formless One was one of them, though it obviously didn’t have a name. Gaxkang was one, and Imshael was another—”
Tamaris straightened in surprise, and Varric interrupted. “Imshael?” he said.
Felassan’s eyes widened, and he smiled. “Don’t tell me you met him.”
Varric and Tamaris stared incredulously at him, and Dorian answered. “We didn’t just meet him. We killed him.”
Felassan’s face slackened with surprise. Then he laughed. “You’re kidding. Well, now you have to tell me how that happened.”
They told Felassan how they’d met Ser Michel de Chevin during their travels to Emprise du Lion, and how Michel had asked for their help defeating Imshael at Suledin Keep. When they described how Imshael had been directing and guiding the growth of red lyrium in the Red Templars and peasants in the quarry, Felassan laughed and tugged his ear.
“Well, I suppose I did tell him to have fun,” he said dryly. “Not the sort of fun I would have chosen, but…”
Tamaris recoiled slightly at his flippant reaction. “Were you friends with Imshael?” she asked.
“More like long-time acquaintances who made deals sometimes,” he said. “He was supposed to have been banished from our lands along with the others I mentioned, but he, er, stuck around.”
His tone was curled with mischief. She eyed him shrewdly. “Did Solas know you made deals with a spirit who was supposed to be banished?”
“He knew, but... unofficially,” Felassan said.
“Why unofficially?”
“Because Mythal didn’t know,” Felassan said slyly. “She was one of the Evanuris who banished him, you see.”
He was grinning now. Tamaris frowned more deeply. “How is this funny?”
“It’s not, actually,” he said. “Not at all. Can I ask if Fen’Harel was present when you met Imshael?”
Varric nodded. “Yeah, Chuckles was there.”
“And he didn’t say anything?” Felassan said. “Any… recognition or anything?”
“Not a fucking word,” Tamaris said bitterly.
Felassan let out a snort of laughter. “I bet he was fuming on the inside. If I wasn’t already out of the picture, he probably would have skinned me.” He snorted again and rubbed his mouth, then suddenly burst into laughter.
Tamaris’s heart clenched; the quality of his laughter was wild and uncontrolled. She took his hand and squeezed it. “Hey,” she said quietly. “Just breathe.”
Another blast of laughter left his lungs. Tamaris stroked his arm with her metal fingers. “Look at me, brat,” she said softly.
He wheezed as he met her eye, and Tamaris nodded encouragingly. A few breaths later, he was calm again.
She squeezed his hand before releasing it. “Why did you say Solas would skin you?” she asked.
“Because it’s my fault Imshael was free to run a red lyrium farm in Emprise du Lion,” Felassan said. “And whatever shortcomings the Dread Wolf has, he does not like red lyrium.”
“No one in their right mind does,” Varric said flatly.
Tamaris frowned. “What do you mean, it was your fault Imshael was free?”
He looked at her, and her belly jolted; for a split second, an odd flash of wistfulness had crossed his face before his usual pleasant half-smile returned. “Imshael had been summoned and bound by a Dalish clan,” he said. “My… lack of involvement, shall we say, led to him being set free.”
Her gut twisted with apprehension. A Dalish clan?
Dorian’s words echoed her thoughts. “You were with a Dalish clan?” he asked.
“For a very brief time, when I was travelling with Briala and the others,” Felassan said. His tone was light and pleasant, but he was still gazing steadily at Tamaris, and there was something about the neutrality of his expression that she didn’t like.
Then Dorian spoke in a peevish tone. “I beg your pardon, but what in Andraste’s sacred underthings are you talking about? I’m feeling terribly left out.”
Felassan finally looked away from her to face the crystal. “I travelled for a time with Celene, Briala, and the illustrious Michel prior to the Orlesian civil war breaking out in earnest,” he said. “At one point during our travels, we were hosted by a Dalish clan.”
“Hosted?” Dorian said. “The Dalish hosted Celene and Michel?”
Varric spoke up. “I didn’t think Dalish hospitality extended to humans. No offense, Cuddles.”
She didn’t reply; she was too focused on Felassan, who was now wearing a little smile that somehow made his face look empty.
Felassan shrugged. “Well, they tied Michel up and beat him, and they kept Celene under guard. Does that count as hospitality?”
Tamaris’s gut twisted. Something awful had just occurred to her. “Felassan, what happened to the Dalish clan after Imshael was freed?” she said quietly.
His eyes returned to her face. “Imshael killed them all.”
A jolt of shock stabbed her in the gut. She stared at him for a second before finding her tongue. “Imshael killed them?” she said weakly. “The… the whole clan?”
“All but one, yes,” Felassan said. He was still wearing that empty little smile, and he sounded so casual, and it… it didn’t add up.
“Wait,” she said. “He…” She trailed off; her heart was thrumming now, and it was making it hard for her to breathe. She forced herself to inhale. “Imshael went after the clan because you let him go free?”
“Yes,” Felassan said.
She dragged in another breath. “Did you know that Imshael would attack the clan?” she demanded.
“Yes,” he said.
He wasn’t smiling anymore. He looked so serious now — no, not just serious. He looked…
Her heart twisted. He looked wolfish, somehow. Dangerous. This wasn’t the Felassan she knew.
She swallowed hard and lifted her chin. “So you… you purposely let a demon go free, knowing it would kill an entire Dalish clan.”
“Yes, Tamaris,” he said. “I did.”
She stared at him in shock. His face was so forbidding and his voice was uncharacteristically hard, and … and he’d purposely given a demon free reign to kill a Dalish clan.
She hadn’t known. She hadn’t known about this. He hadn’t told her about this, for obvious reasons — he’d gotten a Dalish clan killed, for fuck’s sake, so of course he hadn’t told her. But if he hadn’t told her this, what else was he hiding from her? What other ugly secrets was he keeping?
Nauseous with horror, she gazed into his violet eyes — his beautiful violet eyes that were usually full of warmth and humour, and that she’d been growing to trust more and more with every passing day.
Beautiful violet eyes that were probably hiding all kinds of deeds that Tamaris knew nothing about.
She rose from her chair, and his hard expression cracked. “Tamaris,” he said.
She shook her head and took a step back from the table. Felassan stood up and reached for her hand. “Tamaris, don’t—”
She whipped her hand away. “Don’t touch me,” she snarled. She turned on her heel and ran up the stairs.
She went straight to her room and shoved open the window, then climbed up to the roof and started pacing. Her heart was pounding in her chest and behind her eyes, and her fingers shook as she dragged them through her hair.
Felassan had gotten a Dalish clan killed. He had purposely let a demon run rampant and kill an entire clan, and he hadn’t told her. They’d been living here for weeks and he hadn’t… she had no idea.
She was so stupid. She was so fucking stupid to have thought she could trust him. He was thousands of years old and she’d only known him for three weeks, and — she knew basically nothing about him. How could she have thought she could trust him at all?
It’s Solas all over again, she thought. Once again, she’d been lulled into a false sense of safety with a compelling older man, and once again, he’d betrayed her trust.
Her ribs felt like they were swelling with misery. She sat down abruptly and leaned back against the chimney, and for some uncounted time she just sat there ruminating on her own idiocy.
Eventually, she heard the distinctive soft shuffle of bare feet joining her on the roof. She clenched her jaw and looked away, but Felassan sat beside her anyway.
“I know what you’re thinking,” he said.
His voice was back to its usual warmth, but this only made her feel worse. She shot him a venomous look. “Don’t act like you know everything about me. You’ve only known me for a couple of weeks.”
He elegantly lifted an eyebrow. “Can I speak without you biting my head off?”
“Why should I let you?” she snapped. “So you can talk circles around me?”
His eyes narrowed. “I have never done that to you and you know it.”
A pang of remorse penetrated her anger, and it was enough to make her relent. She shrugged and looked away from him. “Fine. Talk.”
“As I said, I know what you’re thinking,” he said. “You’re thinking that I’ve withheld this terrible tale from you, and that if I was hiding this, there must be an entire thaig’s worth of villainous secrets that I’m keeping from you. I am extremely old, after all. There must be hundreds of skeletons in my proverbial closet that you don’t know about, so how can you possibly trust me?”
His tone was annoyingly playful, but what really rankled her that he was right. “Look at you, using your spy skills to figure me out,” she said snidely.
“I am only using the information that you told me yourself,” he said. “I know you’re on alert for reasons to cast me aside. I am not going to give you any.”
A sudden throb of pain in her chest took her by surprise. She swallowed hard and lifted her burning eyes to the sky as Felassan continued to speak. “I was not purposely hiding this from you. If the topic had come up before, I would have told you.” He lowered his voice. “And I think you know that.”
Fuck, her lips were trembling. She looked away from him and didn’t speak, and Felassan was silent as well.
When Tamaris was able to control her face once more, she shot him a hard look. “Tell me why you let that clan get killed.”
His shoulders loosened slightly. “The practical reason is that Imshael had something I needed: a keystone to unlock the eluvians. Setting him free gave us access to the keystone, which ultimately ended up in Briala’s possession.”
“That’s not what I mean and you know it,” she said coldly.
“I do know what you mean,” he said calmly. “The real truth is this: I could have gotten that keystone in other ways. I knew Imshael, and I knew how his mind worked. But I wanted that clan to suffer.”
“Why?” she demanded. “What the fuck did they ever do to you?”
“Nothing,” he said. “They did nothing to me, and there was nothing they could have done to harm me.” He paused and clenched his jaw, and her gut twisted; his expression was hardening again in a way that she didn’t like.
“It was the way they treated Briala,” he said. “Briala had been supplying information to that clan for years through me. She’d pinned her hopes and dreams on them, and do you know what they said to her when they finally met her?”
“What?” Tamaris said faintly.
“They called her a flat-ear and said that she was not their people,” Felassan said.
For a moment, Tamaris stopped breathing. That was what Abelas had said to her at the Temple of Mythal, and she still remembered the way his disdain seemed to stab her straight in the heart.
Felassan went on. “Their Keeper, Thelhen…” He curled his lip in disgust. “It wasn’t that he was blind to the plight of the alienages. He knew what they suffered, and he didn’t care. He was no better than the human nobles that beat and killed city elves for looking at them the wrong way. He knew the problems that city elves faced, and he chose to do nothing, claiming that they were not his people.”
His voice was growing angrier by the second, and Tamaris held up a hand in surrender. “Okay,” she said quietly. “Okay, I… I hear what you’re saying.”
He took a deep breath and nodded, then leaned his head back against the chimney, and for a moment they were both silent.
For once, Tamaris broke the silence. “Was that the only clan you ever had dealings with?”
“No,” he said. “But I had dealings with Clan Virnehn for as many years as I have known Briala. No matter how many times I told them that a city elf was the one to thank for their knowledge of Orlais and how to avoid the shemlen troubles that plagued the country, they still refused to accept her as their own.”
“I hear you,” she said gently. “Honestly, I do. And that’s… it’s fucking awful, and I’m sorry Briala had such a shitty experience with the first Dalish clan she finally had a chance to meet. But do you really think that’s enough reason to let the entire clan get killed?”
He exhaled heavily. “Tamaris…”
She pushed on ruthlessly. “What about the kids in that clan? There had to be kids. Did they deserve to die because their Keeper was a piece of shit?”
“You don’t understand,” he burst out.
“What don’t I understand?” she asked.
“The…” He dragged his hand over his hair and glared at her. “The frustration of living through the same short-sighted stupidity from thousands of years ago. The fact that our people are still so divisive and blind. You can’t understand how frustrating it is to wake up thousands of years later to realize that the worst attitudes of my time were one of the things that survived.”
“You can’t judge all of the Dalish based on that one clan’s attitudes,” she said firmly. “That’s you and Solas’s biggest problem. You’re judging all of us based on just a few.”
He let out a rather tired-sounding laugh. “This kind of sparkling optimism is a strange look on you.”
She couldn’t tell if he was complimenting her or insulting her, but it didn’t matter right now. She shifted a little closer to him. “My clan isn’t like that, Felassan.”
“You’ve said that before,” he said. “You told me you take in city elves who run away from the alienages.”
“Yes, we do,” she said.
“And the elves who can’t run away?” he said. “Those who are stuck in the alienages with no means of escape? You told me you knew of the massacre of Halamshiral’s alienage. What did you do about it?”
His tone was calm but piercing somehow, like he was trying to dig beneath her skin with his pointed words, and Tamaris forced herself to reply just as calmly. “Me personally?” she said. “Nothing. By the time I heard about it, it had happened six months before and I was travelling to the Temple of Sacred Ashes to spy on the Conclave.”
“And once you became the Inquisitor?” he said. “Once you had power? What did you do then to help your brothers and sisters in the alienages?”
She narrowed her eyes. “I allowed the Empress of Orlais to be murdered in order to make a city elf the real power behind the throne,” she said quietly. “Or have you forgotten that already?”
His eyebrows rose. After a brief pause, he smiled and bowed his head to her. “Fair enough, avise.”
She relaxed slightly. “I can’t speak to that clan you ran into,” she said. “And… fine, all right, I’ve known some people from other clans who… who feel like we don’t owe anything to the city elves.” She scowled at him. “But Clan Lavellan is not like that, okay? I’m not bullshitting you. We don’t look down on city elves that way. My clan purposely went into Wycome to protect the city elves, for fuck’s sake.”
He looked at her in surprise. “They did?”
“Yes,” she said. “This was a couple years ago. The Duke of Wycome was involved with some Venatori, and they were trying to frame the elves for red lyrium getting into the water supply. The humans tried to burn the alienage down, and my clan interfered to help the city elves fight back. After the Duke was killed, my clan stayed in Wycome to support the city elves, and my Keeper and a city elf got sworn in on the city council along with some human merchants to run Wycome. A third of the clan is still there.”
He nodded slowly. “And the rest?”
“They didn’t want to stay in the city,” she said. “Most of us prefer the woods. But a number of city elves wanted to leave the city with them, and guess what? My clan adopted them.”
He gazed at her appraisingly and didn’t speak, and she gave him a pointed look. “What, nothing to say? That’s new for you.”
“It is, yes,” he said. “It’s an interesting change. It’s not often I’m struck speechless.”
“You do talk a hell of a lot,” she said.
“Don’t pretend you don’t like it,” he retorted.
She scoffed, then realized she wasn’t feeling angry anymore. And then she felt weird about the fact that she wasn’t angry.
He tilted his head. “What are you thinking?”
“I don’t… really know,” she said slowly. She was feeling oddly at a loss, and she couldn’t say why.
He gave her a slow smile. “You’re not used to winning arguments about the virtues of the Dalish, are you?”
She lifted her chin. “So you admit that I’ve won.”
He chuckled and flicked her knee. “Yes, avise, you’ve won. You can gloat if you like.”
She didn’t laugh. Instead, she studied him thoughtfully. “You really care, don’t you? About the elves of this time. The city elves especially.”
“Why wouldn’t I care about them?” he said.
She didn’t reply right away, but instead continued to study him. The more she thought about it, the more she understood where his attitude about present-day elves came from. Felassan might wear vallaslin and know things about the elvhen gods, but his origins as Andruil’s slave gave him far more in common with city elves than the Dalish.
A little pang squeezed her heart. That was why he cared about the city elves and their suffering. He’d essentially been one of them, back in the times of ancient Elvhenan.
He lifted one eyebrow quizzically, so Tamaris replied. “Solas didn’t care about the city elves,” she said. “Not like you do.”
Felassan sighed. “I suspect the issue is more that he couldn’t care. He couldn’t afford to. With all that guilt hanging over his head? He couldn’t afford to carry any more by caring about anyone else that he couldn’t save. It would crush him.” He suddenly grinned at her. “I imagine he must have been furious with himself when he realized he was in love with you.”
She raised her eyebrows. “You think that makes it okay that he… how he treated me?”
“No,” Felassan said. “Not by any means. A stronger man would have distanced himself from you.”
She huffed, then shrugged. “He tried to. Sort of.”
Felassan shot her a half-smile. “Meaning what exactly?”
“He warned me more than once that getting involved with him was a bad idea,” she admitted. “I guess I… I should have listened.” She scowled. “But he was saying one thing and acting a different way… fucking Solas.”
Felassan smiled to himself, and Tamaris shot him an exasperated look. “What’s so funny now?”
His smile widened. “If I tell you, you’ll say I’m full of shit.”
“Well, now you have to tell me,” she said.
He huffed a little laugh and shook his head, then looked her in the eye. “Fine. I say a stronger man would have distanced himself from you. But it would require the strength of Titans to resist your brassy charms.”
She stared at him. Then she started laughing. “You are completely full of shit.”
He placed one hand on his chest and bowed his head politely. Acknowledged and accepted.”
She smiled at him, then chuckled and shook her head before taking a joint out of her breast pocket. She lit the joint and took a drag, then offered it to Felassan.
He accepted it with a nod and lifted it to his lips, and as she often did, Tamaris appreciatively watched his lips as he drew from the joint and released the smoke into the air.
He took another drag and blew a perfect series of smoke rings before offering back the joint, and she carefully took it from his fingers. “You know,” she said, “for someone that he tried to kill, you sure spend a lot of time trying to make me forgive him.”
“That’s not my intention,” Felassan said. “I told you before: I’m not defending him, only explaining him. Know your enemy, blah blah and so on.” He shrugged casually. “Besides, there is only so far that sheer anger can take you. An adversary as unexpected and subtle as Fen’Harel can be requires an approach that’s equally unexpected and subtle.”
She wrinkled her nose. “What approach is that?”
He gave her a fond look that made her heart flip. “This is one thing I won’t tell you,” he said. “Think about it, avise. You’ll figure it out on your own.”
She harrumphed, but with no real ire. “Fine. Keep your secrets.” She took a drag from the joint.
He gently took the joint from her fingers. “I will say this: of everyone who is working against him, you stand in a unique position. You are someone who knows Fen’Harel, loved him, and still wants to defy him. You may be the single most dangerous person to him in all of Thedas.”
She shot him a sharp look. “Is that really what you think?”
“Of course,” he said. “I always tell the truth. To you, at least,” he added with a smirk.
“Then you’re just as dangerous,” she said firmly. “You know him and loved him, and you’re defying him too. You’re just as dangerous as me.”
He raised his eyebrows, then brought the joint to his lips. “How about that? What a team we make. The woman who dances with fire and the slow arrow.”
Her heart did a little squeeze. He’d called himself a slow arrow, not a broken one.
She smiled at him, and he smiled back at her. Then she reached up and plucked the joint from his lips. “I still think you’re a fucking asshole for letting a demon loose to kill that clan.”
“I know you do,” he said. “And I’m not asking your forgiveness. But I will ask you to recognize that I did not lie about this to you.”
She eyed him appraisingly for a moment, then nodded. “I know. And… I do appreciate that.”
They smoked together quietly for a moment, and the silence between them stretched like warm taffy. From the corner of her eye, she watched as the joint met his lips and moved away to let the smoke bleed from his perfectly sculpted mouth.
She had no reason to trust Felassan. There were thousands of years’ worth of heinous things he could have done and hadn’t told her about. But he had been honest with her about his reasons for doing this one heinous thing. He hadn’t tried to sugarcoat anything, and he hadn’t tried to prevaricate. He’d even followed her to the roof in order to tell her the truth, knowing full well that she wouldn’t like it.
He offered her the joint once more, and she took it. But instead of bringing it to her lips, she leaned into his side and rested her head on his shoulder.
He shifted slightly so her head was tucked more snugly against his neck. When he turned his head to speak to her, his words wafted over her forehead in a soft murmur. “You walked away from me.”
She sighed and closed her eyes. “I know. I’m sorry.”
“It’s all right,” he said. “It gave me an excuse to watch you walking away.”
She snorted a laugh. “You’re such a fucking rogue.”
He chuckled and took the joint from her fingers, and for a time they simply sat pressed together on the roof with her head tucked against his neck. The longer she sat there savouring the steady warmth of Felassan’s neck against her temple, the more she realized how strange it was to feel this relaxed and at ease after a fight. How strange it was to feel so… resolved.
“Any particular thoughts on your mind?” he said.
His voice was low and warm, and it was just as comforting as the warmth of his neck. She shrugged and nibbled the inside of her cheek as she considered her reply. She was having plenty of thoughts, thoughts about Felassan’s mischievous smirk and his righteous anger and how patient he was with her, even though she’d walked away.
She was having thoughts, all right. But nothing that she was ready to say out loud just yet.
“Not really,” she said. “I’m just… content.”
“Ah, contentment: my favourite,” he said. “It really is an underrated feeling, you know.”
“You said that before,” she said drolly. But in the privacy of her heart, she knew what she was really feeling.
Athdhea’lath, she thought: the precursor to love. A feeling which Felassan had openly admitted to having, and which he was so carefully fostering in the closely guarded garden of Tamaris’s heart.
A little jolt of nerves plucked at her gut, but she took it in stride. She drew from the joint once more, then exhaled and closed her eyes. She breathed in the scents of herbal smoke and Felassan’s skin, and she enjoyed the feeling of being… content.
Cresseida al-Bergama
im starting to make oc posts so i can make an official oc page starting with cresseida using this template by tumblr user jessaryss with some tweaks here and there. They said anyone can use it and personalize it for themselves so if y’all want to use this feel free to!
BASICS
Name: Cresseida al-Bergama
Nicknames: She doesn’t like to go by any nicknames, just Cresseida, though close friends can call her Cress. Do grand titles count as nicknames? If so then Vestige, Champion, etc. etc.
Race: Redguard, demiprince of Clavicus Vile, though it’s lowkey, she’s human-passing
Age: 24 in the base game, 28 in Summerset, 30 right now (2020)
Pronouns: She/Her
Eyes: Dull gray without her soul, silver with her soul back
Hair: Curly and poofy, dark reddish brown
Skin: Brown with a lot of random freckles and moles
Height: 5′2 (tiny baby uwu)
General Physique: Very muscular especially arms and thighs and back. i wouldn’t say she’s skinny more sculpted really
Tattoos, War paints, Scars?: has a large gray scar right in the middle of her chest. the magic on mannimarco’s dagger was so corrupted it left a deep mark on her new body in addition to the old one, as if it was some dark and traumatic memory imprinted on her skin. she also has a dark daedric mark on her back that reveals her daedric background but her mom lied and told her it was just a birthmark lmao
About
Werewolf/Vampire?: none
Occupation: savior of tamriel
Guild Associations: mages guild, undaunted enclave, psijic order
Favored Weapon Class/Type: her whole life cresseida was trained in the art of sword and shield but as she started to not fear her magic and train and hone it she switched to a lightning staff. now she uses it exclusively but she still trains with the sword and has also trained to fight nonmagically with her staff
Favored School of Magic/Type: Dark magic, conjuration, destruction, specifically storm and lightning. she has persuasion abilities from clavicus vile: people tend to immediately trust her, feel calmer in her presence. she’s good at bargaining and persuading people to make a choice over the other. also like vile she has her own daedric companion, her clannifear
Heavy/Light/Medium Armor? Clothes?: despite being a mage ingame with light armor in reality she prefers heavy armor, though she slowly starts to wear some light armor as she trusts people more and gets less closed off
Place of Birth: Bergama
Place Where they were Raised: with a group of nomads led by her aunt and mother who travelled all over Hammerfell in caravans
Current Location: her current home is in Wayrest though she is getting slowly used to her plane of oblivion (ingame its the psijic manor on artaeum)
Education/Place of Study: was mostly educated by her mother and books, then after her family was killed she was raised by throne keeper  Farvad at Tu’whacca’s temple then trained for a bit with the sword masters at Leki’s Blade
Personal
Patron Deity (if any): Meridia, Sheogorath, Clavicus Vile (not really a patron but more of just a pain in the ass cause he’s her father)
Political Alliance (if any): Daggerfall Covenant
Strongest Skills: beating up daedric princes, fighting, magic
Strengths: very protective, will go to hell and back for the people she loves. kind despite her initial reluctance to help out, she’s not one to turn people away who need help. persuasive and she easily wins people over through her actions. levelheaded most of the time.
Weaknesses: prone to angry outbursts. sometimes she can lose control of her storms. reckless, she thinks she can’t be killed (again) and it causes her to rush headfirst into danger. always insists on handling things on her own. thinks too black and white, she is always learning how it’s not always this or that
Spouses? Flings? Lovers?: cresseida was never interested in love as she was too hellbent on getting revenge on those who killed her home and family, and later on stopping molag bal and mannimarco, and most of her life she refused to open up to anyone, secretly afraid of them getting taken from her. darien was one of her first friends, and the way she came to care so much about him caught her by surprise
Most difficult quest they’ve been on: taking on nocturnal after watching darien die right in front of her
Jail Time: none she’s a good noodle (unless you count coldharbour...?)
Largest Bounty Held: none. crime is wrong and she’ll kill you if she sees you doing it
How do they get gold?: selling random loot off her dead enemies and doing things for people
Are werebeings and vampires Vile Creatures or Simply Misunderstood?: she used to loath vampires until she met Verandis and was proved how such creatures can choose to do good and be trusted. she has yet to meet a good werewolf though
Goals in Life: protect tamriel and its inhabitants *thumbs up*
Deepest Regret: not trying hard enough to hunt down her family’s killers (despite being like 12 at the time lol), not trying hard enough to look for anyone who survived like her cousin Rafiyah who turned out to have been alive this whole time, not telling Darien how she felt sooner
Greatest Hope: despite all the hell she has gone through, looking back, so much good has happened. she has traveled to so many beautiful and astonishing places and met so many wonderful people that would not have happened had she stayed in Hammerfell
Flaws: oh i accidentally put these under weaknesses lol oh well they’re kinda similar
Fears: losing. letting evil win. although she’s super confident in her abilities there is always that one shred of doubt that she won’t win this time. also she’s afraid of losing the friends she’s made, especially her cousin
What makes them happy: being with Rafiyah, petting her clannfear, her cooked food, seeing a daedric prince lose miserably at her hands, running into her old friends in new places unexpectedly
Hobbies: Despite her cold outwards appearance and her reputation as a powerful hero, cresseida loves to cook and sew. her mother was a seamstress and cress learned a lot from her
Favorite Locations: daggerfall, bergama, all of summerset, ARTAEUM
Eating Habits: the standard three meals a day, though she tends to forget to eat when she’s busy on quests. she does bring a lot of snacks tho for when she’s on the road or in a plane of oblivion, ya know, the usual
Can they cook?: Yes and she’s amazing at it. too bad almost no one knows...
Favorite Food: idk ive never thought about that. most likely something that reminds her of eating around the campfires with the other caravaneers when she was young
Favorite Drink: Tea. She hates alcohol btw
First thing they do at a tavern?: Get a room so she can unpack and wind down in private
Sleeping habits: On her side, back towards the wall if there is one, sword/staff close by. her clannfear sleeps at her feet on alert the whole time
Cities or the Wilds?: cities. through her many adventures cresseida has developed a fondness for the people she has reluctantly sworn to protect, and seeing civilians stumble about their lives reminds her of what she has to do.
Pet Peeves: people who waste her time, liars, cowards, people who talk a lot and very loudly
Describe their bedroom or home: pretty bare, she has always been a minimalist who packs lightly cause she never stays in one place
Opinions on daedra: very easy to hate them once coldharbour happened, though after she found out she was a demiprince while she was in the alik’r it really turned her world upside down.
Which archetypes? (Sean) What are some items they always carry? (Sean)
— OC QUESTIONS / @nckviathn -- still accepting
What’s their full name?
        Sean Cillian MacGuire
What position do they sleep in?
        It kind of depends on whichever is the most comfortable for him. A lot of the time, he falls asleep drunk because that’s the easiest remedy for him to sleep once he gets really hammered. For now, his hangovers aren’t so bad. Almost always Sean falls asleep on his back.
What “class” do they belong to (for fantasy characters)? If none, what weapon do they favor?
        Honestly say rogue for him, since a lot of my inspiration for Sean in a fantasy au comes from his original canon (with his sneaking around). He tends to favor bows & crossbows, but Sean doesn’t mind a good, trusty sword.
What are their hobbies and interests? Do they have any particular “favorites” (food, books, and so on)?
        I’m just going with his main verse on this one, but he enjoys whittling, poker games, five finger fillet (dominoes aren’t exactly his thing but he’ll still play it if you feel like you’re cocky about your skill), practicing his aim, & going out and exploring. Even though he enjoys sleeping in camp and taking all of the beer bottles for himself, he does enjoy the freedom of the world outside camp. He doesn’t like to be restricted to camp all the time, but it’s more manageable when he’s around people he enjoys. I would say planning robberies, chasing leads, and doing any of the labor for camp funds is also another hobby of his, even if its more of a job and a responsibility.
        Obviously, Sean can’t read, but if he did learn, I think he would like more action books or crime books. I have a headcanon that once Mary-Beth was reading aloud a mystery novel and Sean enjoyed chalking up suspects and making fun of the book and characters. It might seem like he’s annoyed, saying a certain action a character did was stupid, but he likes sitting on the edge of his seat and seeing what happens next. For food, I would say Sean grew a large distaste for stew due to Pearson’s liking to the dish lmao. His favorites are cooked, salted pumpkin seeds (a treat his father would make every autumn), pies, and salmon. Sean isn’t a picky eater, but he would say those are his top picks. He does enjoy some traditional Ireland food items though that his father would make.
Are they good with kids? Animals?
        Yes! Ever since that one interaction I saw with Jack and the white rabbit, I imagined him and Jack kept a strong bond ever since. Jack will occasionally come up to Sean and show him something or just hang out around him. Hosea probably tried to persuade Sean once to join him & Jack’s reading lessons lmao. For animals, Sean doesn’t mind them. He enjoyed Cain & didn’t mind the chickens, even if he complained about how annoying they can be. He’s friendly & non-hostile to both. (Sean would hunt if he had the chance, but he needs to be taught how to shoot a bow first).
Which tropes do they fit? Which archetypes?
        I’m not familiar with most tropes, but I was looking over his page on the tv tropes and some of them stood out to me: annoying younger sibling, hidden depths, manchild, loveable rogue, small name, big ego, badass in distress. (More can be seen here).
        Archetypes would have to be: Jester, explorer, outlaw obvi, rebel.
What are some items they always carry?
        Sean almost always has some signature attire on, be it his hat or worn baby-blue jacket. Very rarely is he seen with neither, just in his chest and undershirt, jeans, and shoes. But he always has his gun belt on him, a gun and a knife. In his pockets, there’s a matchbox and some loose matches, a bandanna, usually at least one gun oil, and his wallet. He tends to carry pretty light unless he has a specific plan in mind. Then, he might have a fire bottle, a map, or some drawn-out paper, and everything else he already had on his person.
— OC QUESTIONS
everything for lorna so a lot of stuff
BASICS
1. What’s their full name?
Lorna Astriddottir.
2. What does their name mean? Why were they named that?
Her name doesn’t mean anything special. Just Lorna the daughter of Astrid. Regular norn stuff.
3. Do they have any nicknames?
Lorna von Kodash when she wants to sound a little more epic. She made that name up when she was a kid and didn’t even know where or what Kodash was. She read it somewhere and thought “well that sounds cool”
4. How old are they?
28 or so
5. When’s their birthday?
somewhere in winter, close after wintersday. She says she gets less presents because of that
6.What’s their zodiac sign/element/birthstone/etc.? Do they believe that holds any significance?
I don’t know much about that, so I’m gonna extend that to her and say she doesn’t really think about it.
7. What’s their species/subspecies? Do they have any special/magical abilities?
She’s a Norn, coming from a long line of Owl shamans. She thinks that is why she can’t transform, but its a little more complicated.
8. What “class” do they belong to (for fantasy characters)? If none, what weapon do they favor?
She’s a necromancer, mostly fighting with a big ass greatsword. And when I say bigass I mean it. The sword as a whole is about as tall as she is, so the blade is about 3 m long.
APPEARANCE
1. What do they look like?
Note how big that sword is? Lorna is 3 and a half metres tall (that’s 11′5′’). I hc norn to be taller than they are in game so they are a little more like giants so she isn’t astronomically taller than everyone but she is still very tall for a norn. She’s also buff as hell. She will stomp you and spit in your eyeeeeee.
Tumblr media
have a screen
2. Do they have a face claim?
no. though I think her face ingame is pretty accurate
3. What’s their style like? Clothes, hair, makeup?
She makes a point of casually wearing plate armor to show how strong she is. The rest of the time she wears her robes from the necromancy academy. Her hair is most often braided back, though she changes the pattern often. Makeup wise... excentric and playing off her tatoos.
4. How do they carry themselves? What’s their default expression?
Lorna knows she is intimidating and she revels in the feeling. She’ll stand to her tallest, look expressionless into your eyes and watch you melt into a scared puddle under her gaze.
With friends she is a lot more relaxed though and actually laughs a lot. She still doesn’t smile much though.
5. Do they have any physical ailments or disabilities?
She sometimes accidentally turnes swearing into harmfull magic, but that’s mostly under controll now.
PERSONALITY
1.What’s their alignment?
Chaotic Good
2. Which one of the 16 Personality Types do they fit into?
No clue about those
3. What are their hobbies and interests? Do they have any particular “favorites” (food, books, and so on)?
She does enjoy hunting, usually with daggers becaues if she uses her swords it’s an unfair fight for the boar. She plays DnD with her cousins when she is staying with them and is an excellent kegbrawl player. She does read sometimes, mostly bad romance novels. The more predictable the better.
4. What are they bad at?
Cooking that is more complicated that holding something over fire. She has in her life not once produced a meal that was properly seasoned and is not allowed near the salt box.
5. What kind of things do they dislike/hate?
Jokes about her height.
6. Do they have any vices/addictions/mental illnesses?
nope
7. What are their goals and motivations?
She wants to get into complete controll of her magic swearing, but other than that she doesn’t have any big goals in life.
8. What are their manners like? Any habits?
Theoretically she knows how to act well mannered. However she elects to be obnoxious because she knows people are too afraid to tell her off.
9. What are they most afraid of?
Being alone. As much as she plays the untouchable loner she values her friends greatly.
BACKGROUND
1. Where were they born? What was their childhood like?
Lorna was born in Hoelbrak, where her parents lived most of year. Her parents died when she was very little though, and she was raised by her uncles. She spent a lot of time with the Akis and Dak’s sisters.
2. What’s their family like?
Her parents were owl devotees, by tradition from her mothers side, and her father kind of picked it up because of her mother. They were very caring until they died. Her aunts and uncles are a wild bunch. The Akis are sibling grade cousins and obviously very nice people to be around.
3. What factions or organizations are they a part of? What ranks and titles do they hold?
She’s a Scientica at the Thule Academy of Thanatology (My dad’s necromancer school rp guild) which means she is in the third semester.
In the Family Kegbrawl Team she plays as a brawler and has 14 year streak in getting the highest points for a single player.
4. How do they fit into their “story”?
Most of her personality developed through and around the academy rp. Her magic swearing for example was introduced as a reason why she would want to go there in the first place. Now that the guild isn’t active anymore she is part of my wholesome group of Akis and friends for when I want to think about happy people being happy.
5. Where do they currently live? What’s their place like?
Lorna doesn’t have a place of her own. She mostly stays with the Akis in their homestead or stays at the hunters lodge in queensdale for the school year.
6. How do they eventually die?
no plan yet
RELATIONSHIPS
1. Do they have any friends? Would they consider anyone to be their best friend?
The Akis are definitely not only family but also friends, and she is friends with a few of her classmates. You could count Era and Cap but they are more friends of friends to her.
2. What’s their friend group like? What role do they play in it?
3. What’s their love life like? (See also: ship question meme.) Do they have any kids?
no significant other, no kids.
4. Who do they look up to? Who do they trust?
Her Jotun historian great uncle who for most of her life was the coolest person she ever met, and if she hadn’t met Knut Whitebear one time.
5. Who do they hate? Do they have any enemies?
I don’t think Lorna hates any specific person, but she has a deep and powerful hatred for the svarnir because of her parents.
6. Do they have any pets?
no pets
7. Are they good with kids? Animals?
Lorna is okay with kids, others admire her for how much she can keep up with the energetic little ones without getting tired. She doesn’t particualarly enjoy it but she just can’t say no when they want to play.
With animals sually yes, though she doesn’t like animals that are close to her size or even bigger than her. She isn’t used to it finds it intimidating.
FUN FACTS
1. Which tropes do they fit? Which archetypes?
She’s the Loner that isn’t actually alone just plays that mysterious aura.
2. Do they play any instruments? Sports?
She can play drums :D And yeah as said above she is a good kegbrawl player.
3. What are some items they always carry?
She has a chak claw that is made to be a continer for life force, so that she doesn’t actively hold onto some all the time. It was the first thing she had to craft in the academy. She also carries around a small owl feather in a locket for good luck.
4. Do they collect anything?
The only thing you could say she collects are insults. She knows quite a lot of those.
5. What position do they sleep in?
Curled up because most beds are too small for her. The guest bed at the Akis’ homestead is theoretically big enough for her, but she is so used curling by now she never uses the full length.
6. Which emoji would they use the most?
😈
7. What languages do they speak?
Common, the Norns’ own language (with a pronounciation/word selection that sounds old), a bit of jotunn.
8. What’s their favorite expletive?
(I’m gonna lift this one straight from myself because it kinda fits and Lorna is a bit self inserty anyways) most used is something simple. Fuck and shit in comparable amounts. Her favourite though is “blood and ash!” (which may or may not be the expletive of choice in the wheel of time)
9. What’s their favorite candle scent?
honey
10. What songs remind you of them?
Can’t come up with one right now, but I’ve never been big on the connecting ocs with music thing.
11. Which animal would you say represents them?
You know how cats roam around alone but actually are group animals that raise their kittens together and stuff? That’s lorna.
12. What stereotypical high school clique would they fit into?
She’d be with the emos for sure.
13. What would their favorite ride at an amusement park be?
Haunted House
14. Do they believe in aliens? Ghosts? Reincarnation or something else?
Aliens and Ghosts are both a thing in tyria. I don’t know of any instance of reincarnation but our collection of immortals and sentient zombies makes up for that. So yeah she believes in those.
As for like tyrian cryptids or unprecedented and absurd supernatural happenings she isn’t big on those.
15. Do they follow any religions/gods? Do they celebrate holidays?
She’s a norn and does the norn things.
16. Which Deadly Sin do they most correspond to? Which Heavenly Virtue?
Wroth and Diligence
17. If you had to choose one tarot card to represent them, which would it be?
hmm the hermit would be the obvious one but because she doesn’t actually want to be alone I think the Stars fits even better.
For the Witcher asks, 1, 5, 7, 9, 30, 32, 33, 38, 39
omg posi thats a lot but ill do it !! thank u!
(questions are from this ask meme)
1.  What’s your favourite monster? ah fuck this is a hard one, leshens probably have the coolest aesthetic i won’t lie but i also really like the cool winged but still scaly and terrifying siren/ekhidna design in the witcher games!!!!  i always had trouble reconciling the bird creature sirens from greek mythology with the fucking awesome marine sirens that drag u to your death and i think the ones in witcher 3 look fucking awesome and i love their movement patterns
5.  Did you free the Tree Spirit? YES i always free the tree spirit, like to me all those books praising the crones (and the whole village of downwarren) are definitely a culty thing & freeing the orphans and seeing them later in novigrad is what i always do, because to me any dent to the power of the crones is a good move.  i do wish that if you free the children and downwarren dies then there would actually be an effect later in the game where the crones are weaker bc they dont have their worshippers, food, and ears.
7.  What did you do “in the Heart of Woods” and “the Nithing”? uhh for these i did a different ending on each playthrough! for the leshen im still a little conflicted bc the ethics of that quest are sooo interesting and i dont quite know what i’ll do in the next one, but for the nithing i feel like its not really a witcher’s job to kill a person for being so petty like when ppl are the monsters they just need to work their shit out jfc
9.  What is your favourite main quest and why? ...a am i allowed to say blood and wine ?  if not, i actually really like all the character moments in Ugly Baby (specifically the forktail and trial of the medallion subquests) where ur like bonding with eskel and lambert, it really endeared me to the characters and i love those wolf bois now.  i also really like through time and space!! i think avallac’h is an interesting character so
30.  What happened to Syanna? ok so technically i did do one playthrough of b&w where i saved at some critical forks and went through every ending.  HOWEVER i mean posi. u know me. she’s dead and i let our boy dettlaff go (literally like.... i think 3-4 times now...)
32.  How do you feel about Gaunter O’Dimm? he’s a lil bitch. a manipulative and intelligent one but still a bitch.  like seriously you have THAT much power and all u do is fuck w people’s lives to take their souls? get a HOBBY bro
33.  How do you feel about the Wild Hunt? i think it’s really interesting in the sense of Eredin being consumed by his knowledge of the apocalypse (like the white frost) and letting it turn him into a desperate person who doesn’t care about the losses as long as there’s a chance he can relocate his people, but the other thing is in the game you don’t really ever get an opportunity to talk or anything so even though the backstory and thought process is cool as a villain its just like “ooo creepy armor guys gotta kill em” you know??? also i think its SOO fucking funny that theyre not actually wraiths they’re literally just dramatic-ass elves in fucking massive skeleton plate mail with voice changers like wow... drama queens
38.  On what difficulty level do you play? I’ve actually played on all difficulties!  my first two playthroughs were on story & sword (normal), and i recently started two deathmarch playthroughs (one from scratch, one NG+).  when i start a game to just do HoS or B&W i generally do blood and broken bones, and when i stream blood & wine with my friends so they know the plot and can fall in love w regis and dettlaff i play on just the story (easy) bc the fight scenes rly arent that engaging when ur just watching ur friend do it (and also it’s laggy and difficult to fight bc streaming)
39.  What did/would you do differently in your second playthrough? well my first playthrough i romanced triss just so geralt wouldnt be alone and then in my second one i was like FUCK that nobody here is good for geralt emotionally. regis is his husband. thanks and goodnight i do not take constructive criticism. (also in my first game i played b&w before finishing the main plot bc i was so excited to unlock the last area of the map and ended up like riding up to the wild hunt battle at level 50 with tesham mutna armor it was wack, so now i do the main plot and HoS before doing b&w) otherwise i mostly dont change much bc i kinda am That Person who looks stuff up on the wiki so even in my first playthrough i generally picked all the major decisions that i knew i would stand by hahaha
this was actually super fun to do thank u posi !!!!!
Text
Wasted potential in fiction is worse than a story that’s just bad overall.
If someone had asked me couple years ago what vampire books I liked the most, one I would have definitely brought up was Vampire Winter by Lois Tilton.
It’s a post-nuclear story, where a vampire is at first joyful that the fallout clouds cover the sun both day and night so he is free to hunt whenever he wants but things get worse rather soon. Turns out humans who have been exposed to the radiation have turned undrinkable, poisonous for even vampires. Also, the amount of survivors is small and getting lesser by the day as desperate people leave their shelters to find food and supplies and run from looters, risking radiation poisoning. The vampire who used to kill his victims without mercy is at a situation where he can’t afford to lose a single healthy human to avoid starvation. So he strikes a symbiotic deal with a bunch of humans: since he is unaffected by radiation, he will wander out and bring them food, medicine, even books to pass their time, in exchange for blood donations. This is what I remembered from the book, and thought it good, because I’m a sucker for interesting relationship dynamics between a vampire and their donors.
However, I re-read the book recently and was surprised. It wasn’t nearly as good as I remembered it. The interesting symbiotic relationship between the vampire and his donors only lasts a short period of the book and then they go their separate ways and the vampire for some weird reason just goes back to killing his victims again. Also, there was a lot of completely unnecessary violence towards women. The book tries to have a message of “in hard times it’s better to spare lives and co-operate than divide into groups all against each other” and that “every life is precious” but then goes and has the donors leave behind a mentally handicapped girl for the vampire to kill because she would just be “a burden” for the survivors. Also, there’s a fucking gang rape scene. I’m...   confused...   how did I ever convince myself this was a good book?!
The problem was that my memories were too focused on the one part of the book I found super fascinating. The vampire-donor symbiosis plot was such a great story idea that I actually forgot the rest of the book is shit. I was too intrigued by the story’s potential I failed to notice it doesn’t properly utilize the great idea it had and just turns into a gross masculine violence fantasy.
It’s a shame, because with little changes, this could have been an awesome book. But it completely wasted its potential and left me much more disappointed than would have been the case if it were just a regular old shitty vampire novel with nothing new and interesting added.
I just finished a new book that has the same problem and it infuriates me. It’s a book that has some really great parts but then goes and ruins everything. This book is called Pure Mua (”Bite Me”) by Terhi Tarkiainen. I know, writing about a Finnish book in Tumblr might be useless, since what are the chances Finnish vampire enthusiasts will find my posts, but I want to vent my frustration about it somewhere. So here goes.
Finnish vampire fiction is a rare species. There are some short stories but the only novel I can think of is Jarkko Laine’s Vampyyri, which is a very...   specific Finnish literature category; a “tuskapaskakirja” (literally, pain-shit-book) where everyone is miserable and things just get more and more depressing until the whole garbage reaches a lame anticlimax like a bowl of ice cream I accidentally put in the refrigerator instead of in the freezer. Not my kind of book. So, when I heard the rare species had spawned a new book, Pure Mua, I got curious.
My expectations about the book were mixed. I generally don’t like modern Finnish literature. The few books of it that I had to read back in high school or by getting them as gifts were at best incredibly boring and at worst insufferable pretentious artsy junk. However, this book looked like it aimed to be entertaining, not fake deep and for intellectuals only. It whispered a promise of genuinely embracing its own cheesiness. And, well, I do like cheese.
So I read the book. And my opinions remain conflicting with one another. I can’t really say if I liked it or not because for every part that was done well there was something that seriously rubbed me the wrong way.
The story itself is really well written. The text flows naturally and is pleasant to read, the narration is occasionally very witty and humorous. The plot twists are unpredictable which is unfortunately rare in this genre. Vampire fiction is so full of reused story ideas that they often turn out rather predictable. But this book surprised me several times. Of course, unpredictability shouldn’t be valued by itself. Writers who intentionally lead the reader in one direction only to pull a carpet under their feet or who make their characters behave in unreasonable and inconsistent manner just to get a juicy plot twist, usually don’t produce good quality stories. These plot twists however feel natural and well planned, not there just for the shock value. The plot also escalates constantly, forcing you to read chapter after chapter because you don’t want to leave it at an intense cliffhanger.
Since the vampire fiction is full of reused story ideas, it’s rare that I come across a book that has something I haven’t seen before. The basic premise of this book is that since vampires aren’t classified as humans, human rights don’t apply to them and there’s a ring of illegal slave trade where a “kennel” produces “specimens” for the rich assholes who want to turn their fantasies of dating a hot vampire into reality. Human trafficking basicly, only with vampires. I have not bumped into this story idea before. Usually the power dynamics are reversed, the vampires being the cruel monsters who do horrible things to humans. I know the whole “humans are the real monsters”-trope is old and overused, but surprisingly rarely does it happen in vampire fiction. I guess it’s because to a lot of friends of this genre vampires are a power fantasy and they wouldn’t enjoy seeing them tamed and subjected to something as horrifying as human trafficking.
So, the book turns the traditional vampire/human power dynamics upside down. However, the protagonist actually doesn’t want the pet vampire her nutty parents bought her as a birthday present. She tries to find a way to safely release him back “into the wild” but has trouble coming up with a solution on how to do it and ensure he won’t be recaptured by the trafficking ring again (since he is chipped).
Next I’m going to spoil the last plot twist of the book. Turns out the trafficking ring is led not by humans but by a loony communist vampire who has a diabolical plan. He intentionally made vampire pets a trend among the filthy rich and then once every elite household in Finland has one, he intends to shut down the safety chips that give the vampires electric shocks if they attack their masters and let the hungry, abused, vengeful vampire slaves drink all the greedy capitalist pigs.
And this is...   supposed to be the main villain of the book. I’m supposed to be appalled and horrified by this impending slaughter of innocent humans. Well. Does it make me a monster if I say I think this is a great plan? Everyone who buys a personal sex toy from a human trafficking ring deserves to be devoured by ravenous vampires. The fact that the victims of slavery aren’t technically human here changes nothing since their intelligence is identical to ours. And creeps who would buy a vampire would definitely buy a woman or a little girl too.
Everyone who thinks slavery is a fun hobby that the elite should be allowed to do again deserves to be killed by their slave.
The slavery theme is one of the reasons I have such conflicting opinions about this book. It’s such a horrifying scenario and you really, really want to see the main vampire freed from it, you want to see him and the main character succeed in their attempt to destroy the vampire slave trade. But then the book decides to focus less on the horrors of slavery and...    actually romanticize prostitution. The vampires in this book’s universe are all nymphomaniacs and addicted to sex. Umm...   ok, your world, you do what you want. But I really can’t stand the stereotype of seductive, nymphomaniac prostitutes, who do it because they enjoy their “work”, considering how the harsh reality of prostitution is something completely different. “She likes it anyway” is a lie slimy old men tell one another to feel less guilty when they go to Thailand to “play minigolf.” Hurk. Hork. Barf. I know this is fiction and the vampires aren’t human (and we don’t see female vampires) but I really wish people would stop writing this character type. Also, I hate stories where a noble person saves a prostitute and is “rewarded” by their love (in other words, gets to fuck the prostitute anyway, feeding into the idea that “nice guys” who protect women from creeps deserve sex as a reward.)
I give the book one point for the scene where the protagonist starts to caress her slave when she’s super drunk but then is startled and horrified at what she did, thinking that she has become a monster.
If there’s one thing I hate even more than romanticizing prostitution, it’s sexual violence. Thank goodness this story doesn’t have that but it’s bad enough that one male vampire constantly threatens the protagonist with rape. And I’m supposed to care about this guy and worry about what will happen to him. There’s something so disgustingly...   male...   in the thought process that when you want to hurt someone, your first thought is rape. When a woman sees a person they love being abused by someone, she might beat the abuser into a fine pulp but no, women do not rape, women do not use sex as a torture devise. If a guy gets hard from anger and wants to fuck someone he hates there is something seriously wrong with him and he needs to seek help. Men are scum!
This book isn’t a particularly pleasant read for a feminist anyway. With the exception of the protagonist, all female characters are lazily written, unconvincing, misogynistic cardboard cutouts. Male characters on the other hand are, with the exception of the main villain, painted as flawed but sympathetic. The protagonist has a stalker ex who doesn’t understand the concept of “no.” I was convinced this creep would turn out to be a villain in the end, trying to kill the protagonist because “if I can’t have you, no one else can!” Because everything he said and did kept raising the red flags. But no, I’m supposed to find him charming and loveable and his stupid bratboy jokes soooo hilarious. The book wants me to think of all the women except protagonist as either mean-spirited bitches or dumb blondes (your “I’m not like other girls”-complex is showing...) and feel sympathy towards a creepy stalker and a guy who threatens women with rape. Right. Is this some het culture bullshit or just what exactly am I not getting? Also, if your only way to make the heroine likeable is to turn all the other women into cartoonishly evil or ridiculously immature and stupid so that she'll look better in comparison, the reader will become suspicious of her character (because exaggerating the faults in others while claiming you yourself are perfectly innocent is a strategy used by narcisstic, manipulative jerkfaces).
I’m also rather disappointed that the book relies on stereotyping Fenno-Swedes. Fenno-Swedes are the Swedish speaking minority, descendants from rich Swedes that were given land here back when Finland was part of Sweden. Because many of them are still in the upper class, having inherited their ancestors land and wealth, the middle and lower class Finnish speaking Finns tend to be racist towards them, considering them smug elitists and disgustingly rich capitalists who never had to work for their wealth. Making the main character a Fenno-Swede and then giving her behavior that strengthens the prejudice against “bättre folk” is just really lazy writing, it’s like having a romani character and having her do shoplifting. Sure, the protagonist wants to be different than her gross parents who would buy a sex slave as a gift, but her attitude towards money is the same indifference. Oh, I smashed my phone to pieces because the phone call made me angry. Oh well. Pappa betalar.
There’s a scene where the protagonist and the stalker ex witness a protest that consists simultaneously of racists who want to close the borders and unemployed who blame the government for their poverty (right. You really want to draw “equals as” sign between crazy nationalist bigots and unfortunate people trapped in unemployment hell? Fuck you, fuck you so much.). The protagonist asks where all this hatred comes from and the stalker ex explains that when a person is in a bad situation in life they seek scapegoats to blame for their troubles, whether that be foreigners or politicians. But since we’ve already gone the route of giving the protagonist stereotypical Fenno-Swede behaviour, why not let her voice the opinion of “If the lower class is angry at the upper class it’s because they project unfair blame onto the rich, surely their suffering has nothing to do with the elite’s greed and misuse of power.” Now, opinions like this wouldn’t matter to me normally, because characters are allowed to be flawed, but when those flaws rely on harmful stereotypes, it’s disappointing.
I want to like this book. It’s so genuine and entertaining and well written. But I threw up in my mouth so frequently while reading it that I don’t think I care to read it another time. If it was written a little differently, I would probably love this book. But there’s no use crying after wasted potential. I can’t help but praise the book for the parts that are really good, but I can’t recommend it either. I would have preferred it to be either all good or all shit, not this mixture of gold and rust.
