Jake Sully felt like gripping his dreadlocks out of his head. He barely showed it when he felt conflicted and unfocused, usually able to hide it well. But right now he couldn't keep the facade up the entire time, acting like everything was fine and it seemed like Neytiri caught on to his behavior as well. He was pacing around the pod as he thought of you, the young warrior that was giving him the silent treatment and he wanted to know why. "Ma Jake," a hand is placed on his shoulder and he stopped his frantic pacing, turning his head to the side to come face to face with his mate, "what is up with you lately? You have been so tense these days." Ever since he met you a few days ago, you didn't leave his mind, wondering what it was with you that made him want to treat you as his own. Was it your name? The fact you were so young? Could it be possible that you really were his daughter? Then why didn't you say anything? Is he officially turning delusional right now? Neytiri wrapped her arm around him as she helped him sit on the woven carpets, her cheek leaning against his shoulder, "talk to me, speak to me." It felt nice to know he could rely on someone, but this wasn't an ordinary problem he could talk about. He never really spoke about his life back on planet earth to anyone, because it was his past life. His present self is on Pandora, so he focused on learning the Omatikaya ways and his focus was on his future. But he always wondered how you were and what you were up to. If you were well and living your life to the fullest. He wished he could have been there to watch you grow up. But now that this warrior was here, he had to know. Was it you? His sweet babygirl? The one who would ask for cuddles everytime you saw him? The one that sat on his lap on his wheelchair as they went outside? His sweet child? Answers is what he needed, but he didn't want to be a bother or seem delusional. What if he made all of this up, because he missed you? "I don't know how to say this, yawne, I'm so conflicted. So guilty." He expected her to reply, but she stayed quiet. She wanted him to explain at his own pace without interfering. His hand dug down to take his hunter's knife in his grip, as he hold it upside down. Neytiri watched his grip on the knife as she squints her eyes. She noticed how something is dangling from the end. She saw it a few times around the pod, knowing it was Jake's. Yet she didn't want to pry him into telling her what it was. He would tell her himself eventually and the time to tell was now. A bond is formed around trust and she trusts him. The locket tiny is in comparison to their size. She watched how he untied the small chain from the thumb hole at the end of the handle. He struggled a bit, because of how tiny the knot was. Pulling at the chain with his fingernails, once he pulled the chain away from the hunter's knife he sheathed the sharp object back to his hip. He pulled Neytiri closer to him as he sucked a ton of air into his lungs, preparing himself for the one big thing he hid from his family this entire time. He had a lot of explaining to do.
Neytiri awaited what he was about to show and tell her. He clicked the photo locket open with his fingernail, revealing a picture of an adorable little girl that are you. Your head was tilted to the side as you flashed a bright cute smile, your chubby cheeks making you ten times more adorable. "This is my daughter, from back on earth." His index finger traced your face as he started feeling even more guilty for never telling his mate. What would she feel at the moment? Betrayal? He watched as Neytiri's expression retorted into an upset one. His hand grabbed a hold of hers, shaking his head as if he could know what she was thinking, "there was no one special back on earth. Only you, ma yawne. I adopted her after her parents passed. I raised her since she was a baby like she was biologically mine." The way Jake spoke about his daughter with pride made a smile creep onto her face, "she's adorable for a human." Jake rolled his eyes in response, of course, she would say something like that. "But why did you stay?" The question came out of nowhere, one he definitely wasn't expecting and one he definitely couldn't answer clearly, "what?" Jake didn't really ask her that question to his mate, he was surprised. "Why did you stay here on Pandora, instead of returning to earth?" The question was overwhelming him, as his lips were pursed and his hand went to his face, burying his nose into his palms. He thought back to his life as a human: he felt miserable, lost, and an alcoholic as he mourned. He was paralyzed, full of PTSD and night terrors as an ex-military. Yet he had one thing that made his life a good one: you.
His head was pounding as his vision was blurred, his ears ringing in pain. When he opened his eyes to look around, all he saw was blood. His dead comrades are covered in blood, bombs, and explosions going off around him. His head feels fuzzy as he turns to his right, coming face to face with your biological father, lying dead on the ground. Even though his eyes were wide open, they were dull and lifeless. Jake lets out a scream, but he couldn't look away. Then your biological dad's body opened his mouth, "you should have jumped in front of the bullet for me. You don't deserve to live, you had nothing. I had everything, a family, a daughter yet to be born. You stole her for me, you don't deserve this life! You don't deserve her!" The words felt like a knife stabbed him in the heart, someone holding onto the handle to twist it around some more to intensify the pain.
Daddy..
The words were faint.
Daddy..!
Who was that?
Why did it feel so familiar?
"Daddy!!" He was shaken to the core as your hands frantically shook his shoulders. He opened his eyes as he was met with your teary eyes. You were seated on his chest in your cute Disney pajamas, the ones he bought you, as you shook his body, "daddy was crying, me woke up and scared." You babbled as you leaned in to wrap your arms around Jake. "Daddy hurt?" Jake immediately wrapped his arms around you as tight as he could, squeezing you in his arms as he shook his head, "I'm not baby," he reassured you, but those words kept ringing in his head. He didn't deserve you.
The next night he drank, drank all he could to distract himself from the pain. He doesn't deserve you. It's his fault. He doesn't deserve to be your dad. He was drunk when he wheeled himself home in his wheelchair, feeling all dizzy as he unlocked the front door. He put you to sleep before he left, so surely you would still be sleeping right? Wrong. When he opened the door, he was met with your teary eyes yet again. He felt a pang in his chest. He kept hurting you, yesterday and now today as well. "Daddy is back? Couldn't sleep without daddy." You babbled as you walked towards him with a plushie in your arms. It was old and about to fall apart. He always told you how you should throw it away since you were gifted a lot of other plushies that you got from people you knew. You always told him no, because it's the plushie you got from him. He drank a lot yes, but seeing you it felt like he already sobered up. He picked you up from under your armpits and put you on his lap, "Yes babygirl I'm back, worry no more." You smiled at him as you pressed your lips against his, "I love you daddy!!" He was scared to say it back, he didn't deserve you to love him. Instead he just held you close, one arm on your head as the other was wrapped around your back.
I love you too my baby, I really do. I'm sorry I can't do better.
Jake finally opened up to Neytiri. About his night terrors, the guilt that ate him up from the inside how he watched you grew up and not your biological parents. How your biological dad, his comrade, died during the war they fought in. How he should have taken the bullet and died to give you your real dad. How your mom died during your birth and that's how you got into his arms. Then he talked about you. That he fell in love with you the moment you were in his arms. He told her what you were like and how you were the light of his life during his dark human times. How you always wanted to bake with him, but it ended up in a flour fight because none of you could cook. So in the end he would order pizza and sit on the couch with you on his lap, eating as you watched a Disney movie with him. She didn't know what flour was, or pizza and Disney, but eagerly listened to his words with a smile. Her mate was smiling as he was talking about you and it made her love you. "And she never wanted me to go shopping without her, to protect me from bad people. She would climb to stand on my lap to get something from the top shelf as I held her short legs." You truly were his angel and Neytiri could see how much you meant to him, but one thing was bugging her.
"But why is your sky daughter distracting you now out of all days, after so long of not seeing her? what is the entire story, ma Jake?" Neytiri really did know him the best, better than he knew himself. He couldn't lie to her, so he told her the truth, the thoughts that have been eating him alive from the inside. What the Tsahik, her mother, told him. The conflicts he had the day he met you, how you gave him the cold shoulder. The dots connected in his head, this wasn't coincidental, Eywa doesn't do coincidences like these. And Neytiri seemed to agree with the look she gave him, "why don't you talk to that demon child?" She hissed as she spoke, the girl she called cute moments ago not looking so cute anymore once she connected that little face to the young warrior that disrespected her mate. If you really were his daughter, she still wouldn't think twice to teach her a lesson. Are sky people all born with that disrespect, ignorance and selfishness? She remembered when she met Jake, he was ignorant like a baby and making noise for no reason. Jake rubbed his temple, the situation getting even more complicated than he thought it would get. His mate who hates sky people together in a room with the sky girl that could be his daughter. Oh Eywa, how was he supposed to handle this? "Ma yawne please don't call her that. And yes, I tried, many times. But every time I try to look for her, she always manages to just slip past my fingers." A huff left his lips as the entire situation frustrated him to the core. He didn't want to jump to conclusions, or get his hopes up. So he needed to get her to talk. He was deep in thought, but then he got an idea as if a light bulb lit up above his head. "I-I need to go somewhere!" He frantically got up from his sitting position, feeling utterly stupid that he didn't think of this before. Ask Norm. Neytiri shook her head with her lips pursing, a small smile forming, hoping everything will turn out well for him. Because even though she hated sky people, she wanted the best for him.
"You can't run away forever," Norm says as a matter of fact as he watched you sharpening your katana on one of the lab tables with his arms crossed, the map of files under his armpit. A groan leaves your lips as you sent him a frown. Norm only smiles, ", you know you have to face him eventually." He took a seat next to you, and he put the map down on the same table you were working on. Norm read your file the same day you had your checkup, the fighting without a mask. Stupid idea by the way. Being a close friend to Jake Sully, he couldn't help but be curious as he spoke to you about it. That's when you told him the whole story. He felt for you but nagged you to eventually talk to him to make up for all the lost time. And to this day he is still nagging you. You let out a groan as you slammed your forehead against the metal table, "Norm, please! Why is everyone forcing me to talk to him?!" "Because he's your dad?", he says as a matter of fact and you frown at his smug face, "whatever mister know it better, I'm going to get some fruits from the forest." You got up from your seat and sheathed your katana into the safety strap on your hip. You walk towards the door as you took your mask off it, putting it against your face. "Think about it while you're gathering those fruits! Maybe Eywa will knock some sense into you when you walk through mother nature." With an annoyed hiss, you took off.
At the same time, Jake Sully made his way toward the lab. The two of you just missed each other as you went the other way. He slammed the first door open, the door disinfecting him as he took the oxygen mask off the wall. He then opened the second door and immediately took a whizz of the Pandorean air through the mask, attaching it at his hip, "NORM!" His voice boomed through the room, but there was no response in the common area. He stepped further inside the room in an awkward position. He couldn't fit inside the room, so he had to bend his back, yet his head still hit the roof. One of his hands was placed on the roof to keep his balance. "Norm!" He screamed yet again, huffing in annoyance as no one seemed to answer him. No scientist was in sight. Was everyone busy? He decided to walk around the room, well it wasn't really walking in his instance as one step was already almost across the room. His head cocked to the side as his eyes met the map on the table. It was the map from a few days ago, the one Norm gave him and was ripped from his hands by you. He knew he shouldn't do it, but curiosity took over. The same curiosity when he first got into the forests of Pandora. His knees hit the cold floor as he sat down. He took the map in his hands, it being the same size as his palm as he flipped the page with his finger. It was all in Na'vi, as the resistance didn't mind integrating into their culture. The first page was the checkup, with notes all around the text, about Seb, Raja and you. He continued flipping, a page about Seb. He didn't care about him, so he continued flipping and flipping. He grew frustrated as he couldn't find your information. Then he reached one of the last pages.
(Y/N) (L/N) SULLY.
His eyes widened, his heart cracking and beating in his throat all at the same time. Your birth date was the same, your birthplace was the same, and the names of your biological parents. As well as his name right under it. He felt dizzy all of a sudden. His breath hitched in his throat. It really was you. "Norm, I'm back." You walked into the room once you put your mask away, a lot of fruits in your arms that humans could digest. "I was so kind to bring fruits for everyone, you better tha-," when you got into the room, you weren't met with Norm, Max, or any other of the scientists that stayed on Pandora. No, you were met with Jake Sully. Your father. You dropped the fruits you were holding on the floor and at the same time the map fell out of his hands. Jake Sully got up from the floor, proceeding to hit his head against the ceiling at the way he suddenly got up. But he didn't feel the pain, he couldn't feel anything except his heart beating so fast with his eyes focused on his daughter, "my babygirl.." the way he spoke your nickname in his English accent made your heart beat in your throat. He took a step towards you, but you backed away, "don't, don't touch me." Your lips pursed as the tears welled up in your eyes. "My baby-" "I SAID DON'T!!" your scream filled the room, "Don't say anything, Jake Sully." Your voice was harsh as you spoke his name, your expression furious yet so upset.
And he felt his heart break.

Chapter 16
New Year’s Eve
There was a constant beeping inside your head.
Your mind broke into several images at first, your ears twitching trying to grasp the source of the beeping noise without any success. At first, it was difficult to get a hold of your consciousness, your mind was a pool of different sections of memory that made you dizzy at first, then it stopped.
A gun.
Screams.
Wanda!
The beeping became a deafening whistle and then it stopped.
Your eyes popped open only for you to close them again with an exclamation of pain leaving your lips. You tried to lift your left arm but it was heavy, numb to any other sensation; thus, trying to protect your eyes from the lights above your head was impossible. You grunted, clenching your eyes close tightly, until a soothing hand placed itself on your right hand.
“Y/N?” America mumbled softly; her voice denoted the tiredness the young woman felt though there were traces of excitement right there. “Y/N?”
“Ugh, just give me a few minutes, I feel like my head is going to explode.” You whispered back making a face while trying to open your eyes once more, this time around slowly and squinting your eyes so as not to bother the retina.
America sighed in relief, her lips drawing a sad smile while she grasped her sister’s hand. The moment she had been brought into the hospital; America feared the worst but was soon calmed down by Tony telling her nothing too life threatening had happened. Just a gunshot on the arm, and a few badly cured wounds and bruises you couldn’t keep up with any longer.
“Wha-What happened? Wanda…Wanda, the kids…America!”
You jerked awake completely almost falling on your side while trying to sit up, America jumped away only to go back to you trying to push you back on the bed. She frowned, shaking her head until her eyes finally found yours, reading in them the desperation you had been experimenting all day.
“I’m here, they are here, we’re fine.” America tried to sound reassuring, pressing you back on the bed, “come on stop struggling, you idiot! You’re hurt and need to take it easy for a moment.”
It wasn’t until then that you noticed the bandages covering your sister’s wrists, she too held some bruises and cuts on her face but otherwise America was unharmed. Your eyes went big, this time around you lifted your good arm cupping your sister’s face.
“Kiddo, are you alright? God, I’m so sorry…”
America swallowed down her emotions nodding curtly, “I’m…I’m okay. I’m fine.”
“Your wrists…”
“I-I cut myself trying to get away from the ropes.” She explained looking at the bandages, “I couldn’t and perhaps if I had done so…”
“You would be dead.” You replied wrapping your right arm around your sister putting her to you. “I’m sorry, I put you in danger kiddo, I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you. I’m sorry.”
America slumped down holding onto you with tears forming in her eyes, her arms sneaking under your body until she was hugging you tightly. You felt your own tears prickling in your eyes, holding onto the only family you had left.
“I was so scared.” She whispered between sobs, “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, I’m sorry that…that she didn’t tell you everything.”
You blinked slowly while pushing America away for a moment, you tilted your head trying to sit down. America soon was by your side lifting the bed and helping your position on the bed, she was still crying softly but relief was quite evident in her features.
“What do you mean everything? Who was supposed to tell me everything?” You dragged the words tilting your head, America tensed with her brows knitting together.
“Wanda.” She spat out shaking her head, “Me and the others found out she had been living with that asshole for a time now, I confronted her when things with you were getting serious, she told me she would speak with you but…”
“Wait, you knew about Wanda’s husband? You dug into her past without consulting me?” You snorted, shaking your head, “she told me about Vision. She told me…”
“That he almost killed her and the twins several times? That the last time she was put into the hospital she decided that was enough because the man burned a knife on Tommy’s back while she was out?” America exclaimed with her voice getting louder and louder with every word.
“That the man had a restrained order? That…that, I almost lost you?” America was shaking by now, it was as if she had been containing herself until that point and seeing you like this, all hurt and weak finally broke the resistance inside her.
“It is her fault! It’s all Wanda’s fault!”
You winced trying to incorporate, almost falling on your knees you grabbed America and pulled her towards you hugging her as tight as you could. A part of you understood where this was coming from, America had never seen your parents’ bodies the way you had to, she had only gone to the funeral so she was never there to see their broken bodies still, the trauma lingers and the fear that was trying to consume America was something you had already experienced. You were her only family, if she lost you then what would be of her?
She hugged you back sobbing silently against your chest, your body protested at the stress you were putting it into but you didn’t care. You waited until America seemed to calm down, your voice finally reaching out to her more logical part instead of her emotional one.
“It’s okay to be angry, Kiddo, it’s okay…” You whispered with your hand drawing soothing circles on her back, “but it’s not Wanda’s fault, or yours, or mine…Kiddo, what others do, what others decide to do is not our fault…This is the fault of a man that wanted to be evil, Wanda was just a victim, like you, like me…but we cannot blame ourselves when he is the one that should be carrying with this.”
America took a breath holding back her rage and her fear, she didn't agree nor she denied your words, instead she stepped back giving you a quick check up. You were wearing a hospital gown, your left arm had been put on a sling holding your arm tightly against your chest. Your face was covered in bruises, with your hair badly combed with a paleness that came with the concussion and the tiredness you felt the day before.
“You were lucky,” America stated pointing to your arm, “the crazy woman, she went mad shooting like crazy she just hit your arm, the…they have to shoot her down.”
You gulped nodding curtly while glancing at your arm, you didn't remember much after the initial shooting. But you remembered the burning pain, the numbness going on your left side and then just giving into darkness.
“What about…?” You didn't finish the question, America shook her head.
“He was arrested, not before he almost killed Wanda with his bare hands.”
America had heard enough from Tony and that one eyed man, she had been taking care of the twins when this was mentioned and of course she had seen Wanda come into the emergency room right after you. Everything had been so confusing she could barely remember anymore, or at least tried to pinpoint where to go whenever she felt lost. Kate had been released early in the day and while she offered to stay, America knew Kate’s mother would want to be with her.
You sat down on the bed again, your knees trembling under the weight of your body. You winced finally feeling the effects of the medication wear off.
“How is Wanda?” You asked tentatively, America tensed up nodding to the door.
“She is at the other end of the hall, with Billy and Tommy.” Then after a moment of hesitation, “Hope is with them.”
“Have you talked to Hope already?” You inquired lifting a brow at your sister, the young woman shrugged looking away from you. “America…”
“I'm just happy you are okay.” America let herself drop right beside you, you smiled wrapping your good arm around her.
“I'm happy you and the others are okay.”
America sighed, closing her eyes, “do you want something? I need to tell the doctor and the nurse you are okay.”
“It's Vodka an option?” You teased, America snorted, shaking her head.
“I can try.”
“Please do, and while you're at it try to record their reaction.”
America chuckled, pushing you playfully while standing up.
“If you're cracking bad jokes already, that means we will be home on time for the New Year celebrations.”
You frowned, cocking your head while speaking again.
“What do you mean? What day is today?”
This time around America was the one frowning, “It's New Year's Eve, more exactly we are eight hours away from the new year.”
“Woah, so I was unconscious what? Twelve hours?”
“More or less, yes.”
“I was lucky.”  You stated absentmindedly, America glanced at you for a long time before nodding.
“We were lucky.” America didn’t say much after that, you furrowed your brows trying to actually feel the strength coming back to your body.
“Even if I’m not release today, we should celebrate New Year today,” you dared to glance at America who pursed her lips nodding curtly, “I mean, we shouldn’t stop celebrating the good things in life, and well…”
America let out a heavy sigh, she passed around the room stopping right in front of you. Her hands placed carefully on your shoulders and for the very first time you saw your stepmother in her, the same determination behind her brown eyes and her serious features.
“I have never felt so afraid before, Y/N, and while I was there trying to get away I was…I was feeling powerless to help the twins, to help Kate, to help Wanda.” America trailed off never breaking her eyes contact with you, she swallowed down her tears opening her mouth with a quivering lip.
“I thought what you would do, and when I heard him said he had killed you,” America snorted, “I was ready to do something foolish, yet I felt so defeated.”
“America…” You started but she then broke into a half smile, shrugging while squeezing your shoulders comfortingly.
“Then I heard you were okay, that you were trying to get me and the twins out of it and I knew.” America rolled her eyes punching you lightly on your good shoulder.
“What did you knew know?” You asked when America didn’t elaborate, the young woman lifted her chin stepping back nearing the door.
“That you are in love with Wanda, that you love those kids as if they were your own, and that you would never let anything bad happen to me or them, even if you have to sacrifice yourself.”
You broke into the same smile, shaking your head you offered a sheepish stare to America.
“What can I say? It is the foolish in me, perhaps in another life I was a hero.”
“Perhaps, you doofus, I think…it would take time, but I understand.” She mumbled with her eyes shining lightly.
“I know, kiddo, I know.” You called to her and she stopped right before closing the door, “I think more now than ever they will need a big sister, you know?”
America snorted shaking her head, “it’s good then that I learnt how to be a good big sister from the best.”
And with that, America left you alone while she went to look for the doctors. You kept your eyes on the white door for a long time, your mind numb giving into the growing pain on your left side. You didn’t dare to let your thoughts wander towards Wanda or the twins for fear of just jumping to your feet and running to her room. Whatever had happened, whatever stated she was in the last thing you wanted to do was to overwhelm her or scared her away. You could still remember the fear in her eyes, the sudden changed in her whole demeanour while she gave into a state of numbness that broke your heart.
You took a deep breath, looking around you found America’s mobile and after a moment of hesitation you grabbed the gadget watching the time and the day. With a trembling thumb, you decided that you wouldn’t let this to change things with Wanda or America or even Billy and Tommy.
A plan already forming on your mind.

It took fifteen minutes for everyone to come rushing into your room as soon as the news of you waking up reached them up.
As you expected it, Christine and Strange were the first to come rushing into your room ready to check over your wounds and bandages. Your chest exploded into a wave of warm affection when they started fuzzing around you making you go back to the bed to make a full check-up while asking questions about your physical health.
Soon Hope came in as well with Tony, Reed and Sue who had made sure to be there as well. This time around the questions changed into a more deep, emotional speech to find your emotional state, with everyone being careful of mentioning Wanda or her children. When it became too much, and your anguish grew without everyone taking noticed of this, Christine and Pepper came right in hushing everyone out of your room with only America, Christine, Hope and Pepper staying behind.
You closed your eyes slowly, wincing when the shifting on the bed made you pressed your weight on your left side.
“Easy there, Y/N, it would take some time to get use to it but the pain won’t last that long.” Christine spoke soothingly, she offered a shaky smile at you while helping you get comfortable. “You were really lucky she was bad with guns, and her aim.”
You gave a crooked smile, “I was lucky indeed.”
Hope glanced at America then at you, the exchanged didn’t go amiss by you and soon your eyes were on your best friend.
“How is Wanda?” Finally, after almost two hours of avoiding the topic you brought the white elephant into the room.
Hope sighed stepping closer to you, “she is not okay, this really shake whatever progress we made in the past and has been affecting her greatly. She feels guilty, she feels as if she doesn’t deserve you.”
“She actually thinks you hate her.” America chimed in playing with her lower lip, “and I may have led her to believe she was right.”
You glared at your sister but said nothing, it was okay. It was only natural. The situation had been less than ideal, and everyone reacted differently to these situations, you couldn’t blame America more so than you could blame Wanda or yourself. Hope grabbed your right hand squeezing comfortingly.
“She will need a lot of support, Y/N, if you…” Hope took a deep breath, “if you are serious about her, about a relationship with her then I suggested you start working on convincing her that she deserves to be happy. And that you don’t hate her.”
You looked away finding Christine’s eyes on yours, the young woman smiled gently at you already knowing the answer. You nodded turning to America then to Hope.
“I am very serious, Hope. I wouldn’t have done what I did with just anyone.” You stated serious grabbing your best friend tightly, “I fell in love with Wanda because of who she is, I don’t know if she feels the same or if she even is ready for this but I won’t give up.”
“I know, Y/N. It will take time but…well, I cannot say she feels the same, I can say though that she really feels strongly about you.” Hope shrugged stepping back, “so, who knows?”
“Right.” You sighed turning to the door then back to Hope and Christine, “I need a favour.”
“What is it?” You offered a half smiled wiggling your brows and soon America knew you had planned something incredible reckless and crazy.
Christine and Pepper exchanged a glance pretty familiar with the mischievous glint of your stare ready to see where this favour of you lead them.
____________________________
You were ready to go out of your room, you were tired already of staying in bed more so if there was no need for you to stay overnight.
“You really should try to follow Christine’s advice,” America mumbled helping you inside your pants while shaking her head, you almost fall flat on your ass if America hadn’t hold onto you.
“Ugh, please I’m okay, just bruised and in pain but at least I can get dress, and besides I want to see Wanda and I wasn’t about to flash my but to everyone in this wing.” You glared at the hospital gown before turning to your sister.
America winced making a face at the mention of your butt.
“Yes, I agreed, we don’t need that anymore than we need to.”
You chuckled sitting down on the bed while watching as America went to grab your sneakers and put them on you. Just as she was finishing up the last of them the door to your room opened without any warning, you were about to scold at whoever had come in unannounced when you found yourself staring at Nick Fury and Peggy Carter.
Both agents came into your room, closing the door behind them. Peggy stepped closer her eyes checking you up before the fell on America. The older woman offered a warm smile stretching her hand to your sister.
“You must be Ms. Chavez, I’m Agent Peggy Carter.” America took her hand lifting a brow at her.
“A pleasure.”
“So, agent Carter, Agent Fury, what can I do for you?” You asked right away with your eyes going from Peggy to Fury.
“We came here to inquire about your injuries and your general state,” Peggy started taking a seat on the closest chair, “and then, if you were agreeable to the idea, we are also here to take your testimony.”
“As you can imagine, the case against Jarvis is going to take high priority since he broke into a private airport handle by National Security so, now only is he under some federal charges, he is also being investigate for terrorism and treason.”
You snorted shaking your head, not really understanding how all those charges came to be but happy to know the man would have it really difficult to go out of the trouble he got into. America stood right there glancing at you then at the agents, she bounced on her feet before nodding curtly to herself grabbing her phone and moving to the door.
“In that case, I’m out of here and directly to help Christine and the others with your…surprised.”
“Go on, Kiddo, I’ll be in Wanda’s room if you need anything.”
Peggy watched as America left before settling her eyes on you, Fury took a seat on the sofa and soon both agents had their attention on you.
“Well, where should I start?” You finally asked, Peggy put her phone on the table the recording app on.
“You can start from the beginning, when did you meet Wanda and how you became involve with her, and Jarvis.”
You raised a single eyebrow before nodding, for a moment you kept silent contemplating how much had happened in the last six months of your life. With a deep breath, you started telling them the first day you met Wanda, the different encounters, and the conversations you held with her. It was not relevant, but soon just to humour yourself you started talking about your changing feelings, how you started seeing the other woman and the shaky friendship that blossom one day when you first got to see the scars of the abuse in the boys.
The story then went directly to the confrontation you had with him the day before. His words inviting you over to see something he had been working on, then the surprised attack and you fighting back up until the moment they showed up and cooked up the plan that almost cost you your life and Wanda’s life as well. Peggy shifted uncomfortable, her eyes glancing fast to Nick then back at you.
“Now, I want to know what happen to him,” you asked glancing at both agents, “You promised me nothing bad would happen and I got shot and Wanda was almost killed by the man.”
The reproach was quite evident in your voice, Peggy glanced at Fury then back at you, she leaned forward placing her elbows on her knees making sure you could not look away from her.
“He was already on top of Wanda by the time Agatha shoot you,” Peggy shifted as she recounted what happened while you were unconscious on the ground, “we were supposed to arrest him right there and then, but we never expected him to get to Wanda and tried to strangle her before we could pull him away from her.”
“He knew he had been caught, so his last act before going to jail was to make sure he would kill his wife.” Fury continued shrugging, “he was just a fucking coward.”
Peggy glared at Fury but the man didn’t even flinch, you scowled shaking your head.
“What is a dead woman if he is the sole survivor and the only guardian to his children?” You snorted, shaking your head, “he knew you needed him alive if you were to keep building a case against the criminal organisation he had been stealing from.”
Peggy nodded curtly, not even bothering in denying your words. clenching your jaw, you sit up trying to get out of the bed, Fury stepped forward helping you out of the bed while holding you up.
“I will make sure that man doesn't see the light of another day, Agent Carter, he tried to kill me and my family.”
“I know.” She replied softening slightly, “I'm sorry you have to go through that, you and Wanda…”
“Whatever information he is offering you, I can double it. You have my resources at your full disposal as long as there is written guarantee he won't have the kids custody; his name will be erased from their records.”
Fury lifted a single eyebrow quite impressively while Peggy tried to hold back her expression into a neutral facade. You shrugged pointing a finger to the door.
“I don't know if the movies are real or not, but if the government can make it happen I want that man like the iron mask prisoner from Dumas’ book.”
This time around Peggy cracked a smile nodding curtly, “I shouldn't tell you this but, he wouldn't be our first iron mask prisoner.”
You opened your eyes before squinting them with a hint of suspicion there.
“I can't promise you he would be put away in such a secure place, but I can promise you the other part of your request. He won't have any claim on the children or his ex-wife or his freedom.”
“Good, now I think I'm going to see my girlfriend. If you excuse me, you gave me the perfect chance to run from this place.”
Fury and Peggy watched you leave the office, Peggy waited until she heard your footsteps far along the hall.
“So, tell me why we never recruit her?”
“Her father threatened to skin you and Steve alive if you ever tried it.”
“Right, like father, like daughter.”

The energy you had spent re-telling your story for the last six months was soon building up again. Your hand hover above the doorknob of Wanda’s room, with you standing right outside waiting for courage and the right words to find a way into your mouth.
You played the words of Hope inside your head, and you went over what America and everyone else had told you so far about Wanda’s real physical and emotional state. You needed to play this right so as to ensure Wanda would not run from you; you lifted your face ready to go in when a couple of questions creep into your mind, what if Wanda really didn’t want anything with you? What if things really change?
The white door was suddenly heavier, bigger and it stood before you as a silent guardian of what was at the other end. You remembered your sister's anger, the fragility of life as your left arm pulsated with the ghost of a bullet piercing your skin and muscle.
Wanda.
Everything you did up to that point had been for her, right? Then, why were you hesitating?
With more courage that you felt, you grabbed the doorknob and pushed through.
The room had the light of the TV projecting colours of a children’s program on the wall, there was only a single lamp projecting a different light resting on the bedside table. You stepped into the room closing the door behind you and effectively calling the attention of the little lumps resting on the sofa. Billy and Tommy both turned to the door, their eyes growing wide while they expression changed from one of boredom and tiredness to one of happiness.
It caught you by surprised to see as the both of them came rushing to you meeting you halfway and wrapping their arms around you. You winced when Billy got to you first, he crushed into your left side while Tommy grabbed your right side.
“Hey guys,” you greeted them softly, wrapping your good arm around Tommy while later on ruffling Billy’s hair, “it’s good to know you guys are okay.”
“Mommy said…” Billy trailed off stepping away from you, frowning he then pointed to the sling, “she said dad hurt you.”
Tommy pressed his lips together looking down in shame, “we’re sorry.”
You opened your eyes kneeling while putting a hand on Tommy’s shoulder.
“There is nothing to be sorry about, Tommy.” You replied looking at the boy before turning your eyes to his brother, “never felt sorry for what other’s do, guys. He hurt me, but it was not your fault.”
Billy clenched his jaw close stepping closer to you, “he hurt mommy too, and Tommy.”
Tommy trembled feeling the tears in his eyes, you softened your features cupping his face while offering a smile to Tommy.
“I’m sorry he hurt you, Tommy, but he won’t be able to do so anymore, I promise.” Tommy then stepped towards you hugging you tightly hiding his face on your neck.
You wrapped your good arm around him drawing soothing circles on his back, you could see Billy hesitating though this time around he was looking at you with a glint of hope in his eyes.
“Are you…mad? Mommy said you saved her but…she was crying.” Billy furrowed his brows glancing at the bed where his mother was resting then back at you, “I don’t want mommy crying anymore.”
Your heart melted right away, these boys had been in constant fear yet always ready to defend and protect their mother. You shook your head nodding to Billy to come closer to you.
“I’m not mad, Billy. I was worried sick about you guys, and Wanda, I love you guys.” You said without a hint of hesitation, “and I’m sorry I was not there to make sure nothing bad happen to you, or Tommy or Wanda. But I promise you, this won’t happen again. And he…he won’t be able to hurt you again.”
“You promise?” Billy said lifting his right hand, putting his little finger out, “you pinkie swear it?”
You held back your smile, you let go of Tommy for a moment taking Billy’s finger with yours.
“I swear it, Billy.”
And you meant it.
You would do anything that was in your power to protect this family from any harm, they didn’t deserve to keep on suffering the way they had done in the past and if you could offer them something different you would do so.
Billy nodded curtly before he too came into your arms hugging your tightly, you closed your eyes for a moment enjoying the embrace these two kids were sharing with you. You smiled when they let go of you and put their fingers on their lips turning to the bed where Wanda was still sleeping.
It wasn’t until that moment that you noticed the state she was in.
If at any point you doubt your love for Wanda, and what the future held for the both of you it soon crumbled under the weight of your emotions and your beating heart. Your eyes softened at the sight of Wanda sleeping on a hospital bed, there was nothing relaxed on her expression and the way she seemed to be clenching her jaw and fist told you she was probably having a bad dream.
“Dad hurt mommy.” Billy mumbled looking up at you, “can you make her feel better?”
“I will try, kiddo, why don’t you and Tommy go back to the sofa, okay?” The twins glanced at one another then back at you and then at their mother before nodding and running back to the sofa.
You stood by Wanda’s bed taking in the bruises on her face and the bandages covering parts of her body. You were trembling by now, your hand lifting to touch at the bandages covering her neck. The man had tried to make s much damage as he could, and Wanda was now paying a price she shouldn’t be paying. You made a silent promise to the skies to never let anyone or anything hurt her the way Vision had done so.
With a softness that surprised you, you grabbed her hand in yours, drawing soft circles on the back of your hand while leaning in to place a single kiss on her forehead.
Wanda stirred with her eyes popping opened all of a sudden, you could see the flash of panic in those green orbs and the tension of her body pushing her to almost sit up and put herself in unnecessary risk.
“Hey, wait, it's me, Wands.” You tried to soothe her, this time around you placed a tentative hand on her shoulder, tilting your head. You tried to offer a shaky smile but Wanda just shook her head trying to get away from your touch leaving out exclamations of pain from her lips.
“Hey, Wands, wait…” You tried to calm her down, with the twins standing up coming to the bed while looking at you and then at Wanda.
“Y/N? Mommy?” Billy asked tentatively, hearing her son was enough to make Wanda returned her attention to them then back to you.
“Hey, love it’s okay.” You furrowed your brows, while Billy and Tommy were not understanding such a reaction for you was crystal clear what it meant.
The words from Hope came back, and now you understood what they really meant. The fear she was flashing on those green eyes were the silent symbol of the fear she was feeling of getting closer to you once more, of perhaps living the rejection coming from you and experimenting the hate she thought you had for her.
Wanda never lost the tension on her muscles, she tried to ignore you while turning to her children that were looking at her wide eyed.
“I’m okay.” She tried to speak but her voice came hoarse with dried undertones and broken words.
Billy frowned grabbing Tommy by the hand then turning to you and Wanda.
“Y/N is here, mommy. You can sleep again; she pinkie promise dad won’t hurt you. Ever again.”
While Billy offered a tentative smile to his mom you could see the widening of her eyes, and the tension coming back to her. You grabbed her hand, trying to be as careful as you could while making sure she returned her attention to you. Wanda pressed into the bed keeping her face hidden from you while keeping her hand limp.
“Wanda, look at me, please.” You spoke clearly, without demanding but asking as a favour.
After what seemed like an eternity the young woman turned to you and the tears were filling up her eyes.
“You want some water?” You asked lifting your good hand to brush some locks of hair away from her face, “I notice your voice was hoarse and…well, I know why but perhaps cold water can help some with the swelling.”
Wanda felt her lower lip shivered, she was trembling waiting for you to start screaming at her, for the words of finality to leave your mouth. But you never changed your posture, or the softness behind your expression, or even the tender caresses from your hand. You locked your eyes to hers lifting an eyebrow at her.
“Well? You want water or, I can also offer you some Vodka, but that will cost you a kiss at least.”
You chuckled when Tommy and Billy made gaging sounds before erupting in giggles and going back to the sofa. Wanda frowned opening her mouth ready to speak, but with her breath caught in her throat when you placed a single finger on her lips.
“Don’t, Princess, try to not put any unnecessary stress on your voice. Let me bring you the water, and then…” you trailed off leaning, “then we will talk.”
Wanda trembled nodding slightly, you winked at her and then asked the boys if they wanted something to drink asking them to come with you while leaving the room for a moment.
Wanda was soon left alone with her thoughts, she thought the first time she would see you again after the whole ordeal she would be far away, perhaps ready and strong to face your hatred and the finality of whatever relationship you two had built in the last couple of weeks. She had been waiting for you to hate her, to perhaps blame her for what had happened the way America had done so hours ago.
She never expected you to behave the way you were doing, or for you to offer her the smile she loved so much. Or for you to just be you. She held back her tears, her heart beating heart against her chest while she tried to quiet down any whispers of hope that had been trying to grow inside her head and heart, she couldn’t allow herself to hope only for you to perhaps coming back with a breakup and hurtful words against her. Her heart wouldn’t take it.
Ten minutes later you came back alone, your lips curled into a sheepish smile while lifting a glass of water with a straw.
“America and her friends were down in the cafeteria, and Balder was there and the twins wanted to talk to him, I hope you don’t mind.” You stepped closer to Wanda helping her up before offering the straw. “Here, drink some water.”
The woman hesitated before drinking form the straw, her face broke into a mask of pure relief while wincing lightly feeling her throat pulsated with the water flowing inside her. She then opened her eyes, looking directly into yours.
“Thank you.” Wanda whispered looking away for a moment, getting ready with the huge speech she had prepared in your absence, her mouth opened but whatever she had prepared came crushing down and the only thing she could say was a shaky, “I’m sorry.”
“Wanda…” You started but the other woman put a hand on yours gripping your tightly, her green eyes big and desperate.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…I…It wasn’t my intention, I’m sorry, please don’t hate me…”
You could hear and see the effort she was making into talking, her voice was trembling just above a hoarse whisper. You waited until it was impossible for her to continue and then, you leaned in to kiss her forehead tenderly.
“There is nothing to be sorry about, Love.” You whispered for her only, breaking into a tender smile while letting her see the love you felt for her.
She shook her head, tears rolling down her cheeks her lips trembling. You brushed your hand against her cheek, wiping away the tears while brushing her hair.
“I have never had so much fear in my life that the fear I felt knowing I couldn’t stop him on time and you and the twins and my sister were in danger.” You said softly, furrowing your brows while looking at Wanda.
“I was so afraid that something was to happen to you and them, when I finally got him to leave the kids and America behind my next concern was to make sure you were okay.” This time around you let your fingertips trace a line to the bandages around her neck.
“I’m sorry he hurt you, Wands.”
“Why?” She finally asked, and that single question held everything she wanted to tell you.
Why were you still there with her? Why did you keep coming for her? Why?
You opened your eyes blinking away a couple of times, “I thought it was obvious.”
Wanda furrowed her brows shaking her head, you softened leaning in making sure she was looking deeply into your eyes.
“Because I’m in love with you, Wanda, and from the moment I met you I realized I want nothing more than to make you and the boys happy.” You shrugged offering a tender smile, “I thought it was that obvious, but let me correct that, from now on I will show you every day how much I love you, and I will tell you so, to make sure you know without a glimpse of a doubt.”
Wanda felt her lip quivered, she wanted to say so many things. She wanted to ask for your forgiveness because if she had told you the full story of Vision nothing would have happened. She wanted to tell you that she would understand if you wanted to end whatever it was the both of you have, she had put you and your sister in danger and she would understand. She would understand if you hated her, if you wanted to leave.
And then, you came over to crash all of these thoughts by confessing the most wonderful thing to her. She felt her heart stopped for a moment, and soon she opened her mouth wanting to tell you the same, that she had been in love with you from quite some time. She locked her eyes with yours, her mouth opened ready to say those words…
I love you.
She gripped your hand tightly, and your heart broke at the fragility you found there. Your own tears welling up your eyes, offering a comforting smile when you hold her hand.
“I know.” You said to her silent confession.
She lowered her gaze, gasping when you brushed your lips against hers.
“Wanda, I know life has not been easy or kind to you, but I want you to know that I will be here for you, for Billy and for Tommy.” You all but whispered to her, “whenever you are ready, I still be here, and I won’t leave unless you tell me to. So, you better be ready because, If you want to, I’ll be by your side until we are old and living in an Italian coast watching our grandchildren grow.”
Wanda offered a shaky smile clenching her eyes closed thinking she really didn't deserve you. Or happiness. When she opened her eyes again, you were still there smiling softly at her, and Wanda had to ask herself if she was ready to be with you in such a way. To finally step forward and give herself to you. You whispered sweet, comforting words to her, trying to ease out the sobs leaving Wanda’s lips until the young woman finally fell into an easy sleep.
-------------------------------------------
Wanda was not sure when she fell asleep, her body stirred painfully under the weight of recovery and sleepiness. She could hear the muffled conversation happening in her room, and the excited chatter coming from her children but her eyes refused to open, only giving her the comfort of the sounds of conversation.
She let the voices soothe her worries, her heart shrank deeply hearing the snickered from her son's and the conviction behind your voice. She loved the tenderness in which America chided them but also the way she conspired with the twins. Wanda didn't know when she let the smile showed on her face, but the moment she opened her eyes your hand was comfortingly wrapped around hers.
“Hey, sleepy head, are you ready?” Your question caught Wanda by surprise, she furrowed her brows opening her mouth only to close it again.
You chuckled turning to the bedside table lifting the glass of water with straw that was left there by a nurse. You offered the straw to Wanda and, after some hesitation, she drank some of it trying to clear her throat while locking her eyes with yours.
“Ready for what?” She finally said in a raspy, guttural voice wincing at the effort.
“For New Year’s celebration, of course!”
It wasn't until then that the young woman noticed the change in your clothing. You were wearing a loose shirt, your left arm still wrapped around the sling, your legs covered by a nice black jean and some Vans. Your hair out up in a ponytail, freshly washed and ready for an afternoon stroll apparently. She turned to see the twins were both wearing black and khaki jeans with matching jackets and light blue shirts. America wore a beautiful dress and everyone was just ready to go out, Wanda tried to sit up with her eyes slightly open glancing around her room with her heart beating fast and a tingling down her abdomen.
“I brought you a dress that Billy and Tommy select, and a nice coat because, baby is cold outside.”
You chuckled winking at America who rolled her eyes making gagging sounds while Wanda returned your smile blushing lightly.
“I would offer to help you get dressed, but you know…” you pointed to your arm sheepishly, “Nat is coming over and we will wait upstairs, don't take too long, Wands.”
Wanda opened her mouth to say something, but soon enough her words tangled on her throat when you leaned in, placing a kiss on her forehead.
“Just go with the flow, love.” You winked walking backwards before hurrying everyone out of the room.
The room soon felt empty, with just a tad of cold breeze making Wanda shivered. She sat on the bed for a moment until the door of her room opened and there was Natasha with a huge smile.
“I hope you're ready because Y/N really outdo herself this time around.”
Wanda was not sure what to say, the tears were back and her heart was just trembling under the raw affection trying to overwhelm her. Soon her eyes fell upon the dress, Wanda narrowed her eyes trying to calm herself down while letting the older woman assist her still confused as to what exactly was happening and not obtaining any direct answers from the redhead.
“Nu-uh, you will have to wait, Wanda, and you won't regret it.”
Half an hour later Wanda and Natasha were making their way to the elevator of the Hospital, not many people were left in the halls. Midnight was almost there, and many were either in their rooms, on their homes, or on the rooftop. You waited patiently by the elevator, your eyes growing big when you took in the appearance of Wanda who was holding Natasha tightly.
“You look beautiful,” you stepped closer offering your arm to her, Wanda hesitated before taking yours her cheeks burning brightly while her eyes lowering shyly.
“You look good, too.” She replied softly, you chuckled winking at Wanda.
“I want you to have the best New Year’s celebration ever, we were supposed to go to Stepehen and Christine’s party but…since we can, I brought the party to you.”
You explained while standing in front you Wanda, the young woman furrowed her brows turning to the open door of the elevator then back at you. For Wanda you were a box filled with surprises, one after the other, you had always shocked her in ways she never thought possible. She gulped wincing when her spit went down her sore throat, closing her eyes she then lifted her hand to cup the side of your face stepping closer to you.
“I wish I could show you the same, our date was cut short last time,” she shook her head stopping any reply from you, you clamped your mouth shut letting her finish, “I’m sorry about everything, I still think I don’t deserve you…but I will make sure to be worthy of your love, of your company.”
Your heart leaped forward, and your eyes fluttered close when Wanda leaned in kissing you tentatively on the lips. It took you a moment, and soon the both of you were sharing the softest kiss you had ever experienced in your life. By the time the both of you parted, you two were equally flustered, smiling at the other with the same affection growing in your eyes.
“Well, then let’s go.” You said holding onto Wanda and leading her to the elevator where a very amused Natasha had waited all along.
When the doors of the elevator opened in front of you, you smiled hearing the gasp coming from Wanda. The young woman stepped forward glancing around the place while admiring the decorations and the people filling out the place. The night was completely dark, with a cold breeze traveling around the celebrations goers that were wearing heavy coats and drinking warm beverages.
The place had been decorated with lights and torches, tables were set up and many patients with their families and friends were sharing light conversation and food, doctors, nurses and staff members had also been invited and all of them had also chosen different tables to enjoy the music and the tension just before the clock hit midnight.
Wanda turned to you, and you could only smile at her shrugging.
“I thought we need to start the new year with a huge celebration, not on a hospital bed.” You said simply earning yourself a tight hug before she grabbed your hand dragging you down the different tables to the furthest part of the rooftop.
The lights of the city twinkling down the streets, and the music was sometimes interrupted by the host of the radio station someone had put on. Wanda approached the group and soon she found many familiar faces she had met before, she stopped dead on her tracks with you wrapping your arms around her midsection while putting your lips on her ear.
“I told you I call everyone.” You whispered making her shivered under the caress of your voice.
Wanda soon spotted her children talking with Balder and Morgan, while America was standing with her friends laughing and drinking alcohol free cocktails. At the other end was Hope with Reed and Sue, and nearby was Tony, Thor, Sif, Pepper, Stephen and Christine all sharing a good meal. There were to spots free right beside Christine, facing Eleanor Bishop that was trying very hard to not glare at you.
“Thank you.” She whispered at you, you winked at her pointing to the table.
“Let’s go to eat.”
“Here they are!” Tony stood up calling everyone’s attention, he lifted a hand then pointing at you and Wanda just as you two took your seats, “please everyone, let’s give it up for these two women that had shown us that the power of love can do everything and anything!”
You rolled your eyes with your lips drawing a smile, while Wanda dipped her face trying to covered the blush on her cheeks. Soon conversation resumed, and Wand found herself the subject of Christine’s fuzzing.
“Now, I know this may be difficult at first, but nothing spicy, or acid or anything like that, I chose your food for today, and only cold drinks. Well, lukewarm so as to not to hurt yourself.”
You chuckled grabbing your fork with your good hand watching as Wanda gaped at Christine who was like a mother hen trying to tell the young woman what was good for her sore throat. The table was buzzing with light conversation, the food was soon finished and the dessert along with the flutes of champagne were brought over. All around the rooftop people were getting ready to receive the new year, people glancing at their watches while others were just calling their loved ones.
“Are you guys ready?” America came from behind the both of you, you turned around seeing as America rested her stare on Wanda.
Wanda shifted nervously nodding while offering a tentative smile to the young woman. For a moment you waited, you knew America had been mad, she had told you as much as well as the heavy discussion she had with the redhead. But after you spoke with your sister, you thought whatever disagreement she had with Wanda had been cleared out.
“Wanda, I just…” America started, you could see as Wanda tensed clenching her fist while leaning back with her eyes lowering to the ground, “I’m sorry for all the things I said to you. It was not your fault, I just… Y/N is my family, and I almost lost her, I…”
Wanda shook her head placing a hand on top of America’s, her eyes going wide opened gleaming in disbelief.
“No, I’m sorry.” Wanda replied hoarsely, she put a hand on her throat standing up. “I’m sorry, I put you and Y/N in danger, I…”
America did something you never thought possible, she stepped closer wrapping her arms around the woman holding her tightly.
“Stop talking, you fool, you’re going to hurt yourself even more.” She said tenderly, “don’t apologise, I’m sorry for the way I treat you, it was not fair.”
America looked out of the corner of her eyes to see your smile there, she returned the smile before stepping back grabbing Wanda’s hand in hers before grabbing yours and joining them with hers wrapping around your joined hands with Wanda.
“I know there is no one better to be with my sister than you, just don’t hurt her.”
“I won’t.” Wanda whispered looking at you, you stood up intertwining your fingers with hers.
“I won’t either.”
“Good, now get ready is about to be midnight.”
Wanda turned to you, everyone was getting ready around you. You could see the hesitation in her eyes, with a nod of your head you locked your eyes with hers offering a comforting smile.
“It is going to be okay.”
“I don’t deserve her forgiveness.” Wanda replied, she closed her eyes allowing the comforting squeeze from your hand to warm up her heart.
“Whatever happens, Wands, I want to be right there with you. I want to live with you, to grow old with you…to love you, if you let me.” You said softly, “you deserve forgiveness, and you deserve happiness, Love.”
“I'm scared.” Wanda confessed while unable to tell you the reason behind her fear.
She didn't need to tell you, though. You knew, you could imagine the guilt and the fear she held inside her mind for everything that happened, for the things that came in between. You placed a soft kiss on her hair, putting her closer to you.
“Me too.” You replied, chuckling lightly, “but I prefer to be scared and have you by my side than miss the chance to be with you.”
“You're so sappy.” she leaned back offering a teasing smile you returned with a wink.
“Only for you, Princess.”
Wanda relaxed in your embrace, everyone started standing up checking their watches and grabbing the flutes of champagne.
“Okay everyone, it's about time!”
The music stopped and soon it was replaced for the local radio station in which the announcers were ready as everyone else to start the countdown to the new year.
The rooftop vibrated with excitement, families and friends came together, everyone talking and exchanging their new year's resolutions.
Wanda stepped back welcoming her children in her arms, and America stood right beside you with Kate hugging her from behind. Your eyes soon found those of Wanda and the man in the radio start counting.
“10, 9, 8…”
You chuckled when the twins jumped excitedly, Billy dragging his mom closer to you while also grabbing his brother.
Kate watched the scene with a softening stare kissing America on her cheek.
“You guys look like a happy family.”
“...3, 2, 1 Happy New Year America!!”
The fireworks broke into the sky, everyone gasped and celebrated while Wanda leaned in tilting her head and kissing you openly in front of everyone. Wanda never imagined her year would end in such a way, when she ran away from Vision’s grasp she did so with one thing in mind: To survive.
Now, standing on the rooftop of a hospital with a woman kissing her slowly, tentatively, she realized that love was possible, that being loved was something she also deserved, and that loving someone might not be as bad as she was led to believe. Just as you stepped back with a huge grin adorning your face, Wanda knew.
You two would be forever.

“Good morning, baby,” she smiles. She opened her arms and Maira came running and hugging her mom.
“Mami, I don’t want to go to school,” she whines.
“I know, baby, school sucks, but you have to go and be smart, like your papi and I,” Y/n said kissing her daughters forehead.
“Okay,” she whines and got off the bed and went to her bedroom to get dressed for school.
Y/n rolled out of her bed and saw her son Santiago walk passed the bedroom door.
“Santi? What are you wearing?” Y/n asked as she made the bed and she heard Santiago groan and walk back to the bedroom door.
“Just clothes.” Santiago was wearing a light blue t-shirt, black jeans and black vans.
“Santiago, it’s almost eighty degrees outside.”
“I’ll be fine.”
“Santiago, I don’t want to get a call from your school that you passed out because I let you walk out in jeans, go put shorts on,” she said as he groaned and walked back to his bedroom to change.
Y/n put her hair up and changed out of her pajamas to some more professional clothing because of where she works.
“SANTI! MARIA! COME ON THE BUS WILL BE HERE SOON!!” Y/n said as she gave Maria a pop tart and Santiago one too. “Just eat it on the bus.”
“But we’re not allowed to eat on the bus,” Maria said.
“Sneak it,” Y/n said as she kissed her sons and daughters head and watched them leave the house to their normal bus stop.
“Santi, I’m not really hungry,” Maria said, picking at the crust around the pop tart.
“What? You’re always hungry,” Santiago said as he stuffed his face.
“Not today,” she said, giving her breakfast to her oldest brother. He didn't hesitate to wolf down the food.
"Why aren't you eating, mami and papi are gonna be mad if they find out you haven't been eating breakfast."
"I eat lunch, that's good enough," Maria said as one of Santiago's friends Luis came running to the bus stop, he was out of breath and his hands on his knees trying to catch his breath.
"Jesus...my mom didn't wake me up...till...5 minutes...ago," he pants, Santiago chuckles and Maria just rolled her eyes.
--------
Y/n walked into her work and sat her stuff down, she worked around a bunch of women who always talked about their lives, husbands, girlfriends and kids. Y/n fit in with them perfectly because of her almost being just like them.
Since Y/n's kids are bilingual, she'll sometimes talk about how Maria will sometimes mess up words in Spanish and it's all cute, and she'll even talk about when Santiago was little always confusing some words in Spanish and English.
"Good morning, Y/n," Briella said with a smile on her face, she was the oldest employee who has been there almost since the start of the company, and funny thing is she's only 4 years younger than Y/n.
"Good morning, Briella, how's Gracie?"
"Good, she almost missed the bus this morning."
"The same with mine, but they got out just in time," she smiles as she clocked in.
"Hey, Y/n, we're going to the local bar downtown if you wanna come and join us?" Regan the companies General Manager and good friend to Y/n came up to her cubical and asked.
"Umm~ I'll think about it, I have to see if Alejandro is okay watching the kids for a while."
"Please, from how you talk about him, I'm pretty sure if you said you were going to the moon and won't be back for a year, he'll watch the kids for you."
"I know," she laughs. "But it never hurts to ask," as she say that she grabbed her phone and texted Alejandro.
Alejandro did stocks and worked very hard, almost every morning he was in a meeting, but Y/n had to at least ask to see if he was okay with it.
Mi Amor: Alejandro, I'm going to a bar with some of the girls from work, are you okay with watching the kids, while I'm gone?
Husband: I fine with anything, mi amor, you know I'll watch them
Mi Amor: Thank you, Ale, I owe you.
Husband: Yeah you do😏
Mi Amor: Nasty
Alejandro smirked at the text and slid his phone back into his pocket to listen to his boss.
"He said he's fine with it, guess I'm coming," she giggled, and the girls cheered.
--------
"Alright, everyone let's go ahead and do this assignment, we are going to be doing a color by number, sheet for multiplication," Santiago's teacher Mrs.Finch announced to the class.
"Santiago, can you get me a blue," Santiago's other friend Mark said as Santiago was already up to go get his colors.
"Sure," Santiago said.
Santiago had his sheet in his hand to see what colors he needed.
"Rojo, azul, amarillo, verde, morado, negro, marron, (red, blue, yellow, green, purple, black, brown)." Santiago mumbled to himself, he liked speaking Spanish when it came to certain things, like colors, animals, plants, sports, stores, but he hardly did it in school.
"What are you saying?" A little girl named Jules came up next to Santiago.
"Huh?"
"What are you saying? That's not English, is that a made-up language?" She asked. Santiago was a little suspicious on how she's never heard Spanish before.
"It's Spanish," he told her.
"But you speak English." Jules said, crossing her arms.
"I'm bilingual," Santiago said.
"Meaning?"
"Meaning, I speak two languages, English and Spanish, my mom speaks English and my papi speaks Spanish."
"Have you really never heard him speak Spanish before?" Mark asked Jules.
"No," she said with some attitude behind it. "I've never even heard of bilingual before, that seems made up."
"It's not," Santiago said.
"So, say something then in Spanish."
"Okay," without hesitation Santiago immediately thought of something. "Jules es una gran cabeza tonta y estúpida," he smirks.
"What does that mean?" Jules asked.
"It means. Jules is a big dumb stupid head," Santiago was proud and Jules stormed off to go find Mrs.Finch.
Santiago, Mark and Luis all laughed.
---------
Maria sat on her colored square on the Teacher's rug as they started to sing a song that went along with a book they were reading. Maria could barely keep up because some of the words were difficult.
Soon the song was over and Maria let out a small huff.
"Vaya, eso fue difícil (Geez, that was difficult)." Maria mumbled.
"Huh? What was that?"
"I said it was difficult."
"But how did you say it?"
"In Spanish," Maria said, confused.
"Spanish, I never heard Spanish like that before, I should know, I'm Spanish," the girl whose name was Bella, tried to flex that she knew Spanish but in reality, she didn't, she wanted to be different.
"Okay~ say something then if you know it," Maria asked.
"Fine, Mi perra come gusanos," she said, smirking at Maria like she just did something.
"You just said my dog eats worms," Maria said as some of the kids that surrounded them laughed at Bella.
"No, I said I'm the best."
"That would be something like this Soy el mejor, not what you just said," Maria said.
"Whatever."
"It's impressive that you do know it, you just have to learn your grammar and how to actually make a proper sentence," Maria giggled.
Bella walked away and Maria went back to her cubby grabbing a book to read.
-----------
Alejandro walked through the door of his home and set everything down by the door. He took off his shoes and loosened his tie, he took off his blazer and set it on the coat rack.
He went upstairs to go take a shower before having to go get the kids off the bus.
Soon he got out and put on black t-shirt and gray sweatpants. He went outside the porch and leaned on the railing to wait for his kids. He saw the bus up ahead stopping at a kid's house and then to the bus stop. Alejandro smiled seeing his daughter get off first and she came running towards him.
"PAPI!!" She yells, Alejandro smiled and walked down to pick her up, he kissed her forehead as they waited for Santiago next, which wasn't long.
Santiago smiled seeing his dad home.
"Come on, it's just us tonight, mami is out with some co-worker friends." He says.
"Does that mean we get McDonald's for dinner?" Maria asked.
"Do you want some?" He asked and Maria just excitedly nodded her head. "Alright, we can get some, do you want McDonald's Santiago?"
"Yeah, that's fine," Santiago asked, taking his bookbag off his shoulders.
"Alright go get out of your school clothes and we'll head there," Alejandro smiles.
--------
Once in the car, Alejandro saw his two kids have a big smile on their faces.
"Why are you two so smiley?" He asks.
"Because I stood up to some girl," Santiago said first.
"HEY I DID TOO!" Maria yelled.
"What do you mean?" Alejandro asked.
"Some girl named Jules in my class asked what language I was speaking, and I told her Spanish and then she asked me to say something in Spanish and I called her a stupid head," Santiago and Maria both laughed.
"I said some girl in my class said her dog liked to eat worms and she thought she said she was the best, but I told her how that would sound versus what she said," Alejandro was proud that his kids stood up to some kids.
Alejandro was also proud that his kids weren't ashamed of their Spanish side and put some people in their places.
"I'm proud of both of you, but Santiago next time don't call her a stupid head, maybe something more clever next time," Alejandro chuckled.
"Okay, papi," he smiles.
--------
Y/n was having a blast at the bar, her and the girls all singed and dance and enjoyed all their drinks they were getting. She looked at the time and saw she should get going and head home for the night.
At least she didn't drink too much, she didn't want to abandon her car at a random bar or take an UBER with a stranger.
She bid farewell to her friends and will see them at work tomorrow and headed home.
Once she arrived home, she could see the TV on in the living room hopefully the kids went to bed and it's just Alejandro still up. She opened the front door and saw it was her kid's favorite TV show Bluey, meaning the kids were still up.
She saw the tops of their heads on the couch, she creeped over to them all passed out together, Maria's head on Alejandro's right shoulder, Santiago on the other side, Alejandro's mouth open and head back with light snoring coming from him.
Alejandro's arm wrapped around Maria's waist and his other hand resting on Santiago's small leg, Y/n smiled at the scene in front of her and took a picture to remember it.
She turned off the TV and gently moved Alejandro's arm and hand and she gently picked up Maria first putting her bed then Santiago.
She came back downstairs and gently woke up her husband. His eyes fluttered open, once he saw her, he gave her the biggest smile ever.
"Hi, mi amor."
"Hi, guapa (handsome), come on, let's go to bed. I went ahead and put them two in bed."
"Did you have fun?" He asked as he walked behind her.
"I did, I should get out more often."
"You should, we had fun," he smiles as he plopped on his side of the bed and Y/n changed out of her work attire into her pajamas. She got on her side and cuddled up to her husband's side and kissed his jawline.
"Good night."
"Night, amor," he kissed the top of her head.

New Romantics
Anastasia 'Ana' Davis has been uprooted three times in her life. The first time, it was 1942, and her parents decided to immigrate from Bogota, Colombia to Southern California. She was 4.
The second time, it was 1945 and her parents had passed away. She was shipped to an orphanage about 20 miles from Rydell, California. She was 7.
The third time, it was 1946 and she was just adopted by Thomas and Bianca Davis, the richest couple in Rydell. They wanted kids but after a bad miscarriage, Bianca couldn't have any. She thought Ana was sweet. She was eight.
From 8 to 16, Ana assimilated. She learned English, stopped speaking Spanish, and acted like the perfect daughter. Ranked third in her class for academics, cheerleader, tutored struggling students for free, was dating football player, Wally Winslow, and was best friends with resident golden boy, Buddy Aldridge. She was the definition of perfect.
But even perfection starts to crack. And those cracks just keep growing when Ana gets assigned to tutor Nicholas 'Nico' Barrera for English.
Nicholas 'Nico' Barrera was a T-Bird. He was Cuban and lived with his mother Isabel and his older sister Elena. He was smart, no doubt about it, but it's hard to try when no one seems to care.
All of a sudden, Mr. Daniels seemed to care when he assigned Ana Davis, princess of Rydell, to tutor him.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, at 2:15, Ana and Nico were in the library. Studying, learning about everything, including each other. Sparks flew and Ana panicked.
This boy made her feel important, special, that she was something more than her family's name. But they could never be with each other, it would never work.
They thought until Wally broke up with Ana and showed up the next day with Rosemary on his arm. So Ana let herself fall for a boy that could ruin everything she had worked so hard to maintain and she couldn't care less.
Nico and Ana managed to stay a secret for about two months. It wasn't an easy two months. The only people who knew were the T-Birds, Cynthia, and Olivia. They were always careful, making sure no one would know.
You can't plan everything. After unknowingly getting caught by Dot, the next day, Ana arrived at school to a vandalized locker and rumors spread around that Ana slept with the entire Rydell High football team.
So when your reputation is up in flames, you can either run away, embrace it, or give them something new to talk about.
So when you're forced to be perfect for the last 8 years of your life, all that anger bubbles up and it has to go somewhere at some point, right?
Yeah, after a rather brutal fight and a two week suspension, Ana was a new person. A person who was still one of the smartest girls at Rydell but also a person who didn't care about impressing anyone anymore.
Come the 1954-1955 school year at Rydell High brings more drama than Ana and Nico could have prepared for. With drama, comes a group of girls who are sick of how Rydell works against them.
So the Pink Ladies were born.

So here I am, writing my version of Red and Blue. How I imagine (really short) the events of the first and second games. As usual, the traditional "English isn't my mother tongue blah blah blah". I'm not a writer at all, this is the first time I've written anything resembling fan fiction. Enjoy
Blue moves in with his grandfather in the small town of Bourg Palette when he's 4, along with his sister Daisy, after the death of their parents. He meets Red, who is the same age as him. Blue is a hyperactive boy who demands a lot of adult attention; Red is the opposite, as he doesn't speak and is very reserved. They complement each other perfectly, and Blue is Red's first friend. They share a love of pokemons and pokemon battles. At the age of 6, Blue tells Red about his dream of going on an adventure with his Pokemon, and Red immediately decides that this is what he wants to do too, and that they should go together. Around age 9, Blue's attitude changes when he learns that Red wants to become a Pokemon Master like him. This is absurd, since only one of them can become a pokemon master.
From then on, their friendship was over for Blue, giving way to a rivalry. Red never stopped thinking of Blue as his friend. At the age of 10, Red had no idea what was at stake in becoming a pokémon master. All Red knew was that he loved pokemon battles and wanted to find ever-stronger opponents to fight.
He never thought a pokémon fight would end his friendship with Blue. When Red won for the umpteenth time against Blue, he didn't feel it was anything special. He was just happy to fight Blue, because he's always loved sharing his passion with his best friend. He hadn't expected to see Blue with the saddest expression he'd ever seen. Professor Oak arrived and made things worse. Blue decomposed, ran off without looking back, and Red heard Blue say something so softly that only he could hear it, "I hate you". Red was completely lost, wondering "Did I do that? Did I make Blue so sad?". Red was warmly congratulated on becoming the new master, and that's when Red realized that this wasn't just another fight with Blue. That he'd just stolen Blue's dream without even realizing it. Without thinking about Blue's feelings.
After that, it got worse, he became the most famous person in Kanto in a matter of days. All he wanted was to go on an adventure with his best friend and live quietly away from anyone's attention, and all he managed to do was lose the only friend he ever had and his tranquility.
It was unbearable, his ears ringing constantly, the noise never stopping, so he left, as far away as possible for him. He left a letter for his mother, he felt bad leaving it, but just the idea of seeing Blue again and having to face the fact that his best friend hated him haunted him, he wanted to be left alone. For a while or maybe forever. Maybe if he was gone, Blue would take over the title like nothing had happened.
Red has disappeared. Blue is deeply saddened by the disappearance of his best friend. He can't help but wonder if Red would never have left if he'd been nicer to him. Blue was so focused on himself that he never thought to ask Red if he was all right. Blue wondered why Red had left. He didn't even leave him a letter. Red's strong, they've always squabbled since they were kids but it's never bothered them before. He wonders if at some point he'd crossed the line without realizing it. The day he last saw Red is a fog in his mind. The second he saw his pokémon on the ground and realized he'd lost, everything became a blur.
After that, Blue took some time to recover. The fact that he'd lost his dream and his best friend at the age of 11 was pretty hard to take in. But when Lance offered him the chance to become an gym leader, he didn't hesitate. He had nothing else to lose after all.
Blue met Leaf at his grandfather's laboratory. Since neither he nor Red had completed the pokedex, he decided to entrust the task to this new trainer. She took the bulbasaur that he and Red hadn't chosen at the time, and it was rather nostalgic to see that this Pokemon hadn't changed since then, while Blue felt that his life had been completely turned upside down since then. She was the same age as him (13). He gave her all the advice he could and wished her luck. Blue hadn't felt like going on adventures to fill the pokedex for a long time.
One day at his gym, Blue (almost 14) met Gold, a kid of almost 12 who had already defeated every champion in Johto.
Gold bears no resemblance to Red, but when he fights, Blue almost feels as if he's reliving one of his fights with Red. He'd missed fighting a trainer with such talent. Blue lost, but he hadn't felt so alive in a long time. The kid was annoying, but he liked him. Which turns out to be a mistake, as Gold ends up dropping in on Blue a little too often to fight and chat, but Blue never finds it in his heart to say no to him. Then one day Gold tells him about a super-powerful guy he's fought against many times before winning at Mount Silver. Blue doesn't pay much attention, as there are a lot of crazies wandering around the mountain, although finding someone as strong as Gold is impressive.
Red doesn't know how long he's been on this mountain, he comes down from time to time to buy food with the money he's collected on his adventure. But he keeps social interaction to a minimum.
One morning, while training his Pokemon as usual, he came face to face with a kid, younger than him. They fought, of course. And Red won, of course. But the kid kept coming to fight and chat with him, despite Red's lack of words. Red learns that Gold isn't just a trainer, but a pokemon master. Red always tries to beat him quickly and wave him off, but as time goes by, Gold develops new strategies and beats more and more of Red's pokemon. Eventually, Red came to enjoy these fights. It's been a long time since he's fought another trainer. It even reminds him of Blue. When he fights Gold... He thinks of Blue and doesn't appreciate it. It's his talent for fighting that has ruined his friendship with Blue. If only he'd lost... If only he could find someone who could beat him. He could find Blue and tell him "I've lost, I'm no longer the master of Kanto".
After a few weeks, Gold returned as usual. They fight as usual, but Gold is gaining ground, the battle is extremely close, the pokemons of both boys one by one falling to the ground in the course of this fierce battle. They're both so focused on the fight that nothing exists anymore! Pikachu is knocked out, Red touches his belt to send another pokemon- but... he has none left. Gold's typhlosion stands trembling in the middle of the snow-covered field, Gold's last pokémon, and it's still standing. Red lost. Gold hadn't realized that Pikachu was Red's last Pokemon either, and when he did, he let out a huge cheer! At last he's won after months of trying. Red doesn't realize it right away. It's the first time he's lost in his life, he... doesn't know how he's supposed to feel. He should be sad, that's what he tells himself, normally when you lose you're sad. But at that moment, Red never felt so free. As if someone had taken a weight off his shoulders. He's no longer the perfect undefeated trainer.
It's time for him to go home.
Blue is at his gym as he should be (even if he usually prefers to wander than work, but anyway). He's waiting patiently for the dreamy, hopeful trainers to show up so Blue can ruin their day (we're having all the fun we can).
"Blue get ready, a challenge is coming" one of the trainers in her gym informs him.
Finally, some entertainment. Blue hears the challenger arrive as he prepares his Pokeballs. He turns to his opponent to quotes his usual gym leader speech.
When Blue's eyes widened.
"...Red ?"

Chapter 8
Breaking the past
The sun had a way to sneak inside her room, the light rays of light projecting hues of colour with a welcoming warmth that soothed her to sleep again. The memories of childhood days spent in bed, trying to sleep in before being taken away from the comfort of her bed and made to be an avid participant in the house chores. Wanda fluttered her eyes open to see the time gleaming from the digital clock in her bedside table.
9 am.
She smiled knowing the twins must be asleep as well, Saturdays had become one her favourite days of the week. It was a time in which she could spend time with her children, she was able to read and to paint, to do all the things she had denied herself for too long. But that particular morning, her smile was brighter, and the fluttering butterflies at the pit of her stomach were a memory of your words the night before.
I was hoping you would come to my place and we could have lunch together.
Wanda felt a tug on her heart, she closed her eyes for a brief moment only to see your smile from the night before. She never imagined that spending time with you would result in her having so much time, or in you being a complete child while taking the kids with you to form a team during the game. She had seen a part of you that had melted away her heart and her resolution. Wanda turned to her back glancing at the ceiling with her heart speeding at the memory of the kiss you placed on her cheek.
But before she could delve even more in the memory, before she allowed the sweet, tortuous tingling in her body to travel down to her crotch, there was a knock on her door. Wanda sat almost right away, her eyes going big with anticipation, she spoke before she could stop herself with a voice heavy with sleep and confusion.
“Who is it?” Wanda winced, rolling her eyes at her own stupidity. She tried to stand up before the door was opened but it was late.
There standing by the door were the twins, they were holding one white rose in their hands and some superhero mugs with big smiles, behind them you were carrying a tray filled with eggs, bread, coffee and orange juice.
The world came to a halt.
Wanda observed the scene trembling like a leaf. Her breath caught on her throat, her eyes going from her children to you then back to them. She opened her mouth and closed it again, but there was nothing she could say without breaking up and giving into panic and tears.
“Hey, sorry, they called America, but she stayed over at Loki’s place and America called me and… Well, you were asleep, and they were hungry, and I thought that you may need the sleep and…”
The twins snickered entering the room slowly, the both of them offered the white rose to Wanda who took them with trembling hands. The look in her eyes cut off you babbling, and you regretted doing what you just did. You had overstepped quite foolishly, assuming whatever had happened last night was an open invitation to… to be a freaking stalker or something equally awful.
“Mommy, Y/N made pancakes like dinosaurs!”
“And we played, and helped her, and she let us pick the flowers!”
“Mommy, Y/N told us that we could watch the whole Jurassic Park movie on her TV, can we go?”
“You like the pretty flowers, Mommy?”
Wanda was bombarded by two hyperactive twins waiting patiently to Wanda
You kicked yourself for just barging in the other woman's home without even asking, for thinking that perhaps this was okay. You and Wanda were not friends. Or, were you?
Your trail of thoughts was cut short by a warm hand on yours. Wanda offered a trembling smile, she opened her mouth and then closed it again.
“I… I…”Wanda snorted, shaking her head. “You didn't have to do this.”
You tilted your head holding onto the tray, it was true you didn't have to do it. You did it because you wanted to, because you hadn't stopped thinking about Wanda. Because you woke up thinking you could have kissed her the night before.
“I just… I'm shocked, I've never had breakfast in bed.” She said, trying to ease out the uncomfortable silence in the room.
“Never?” You asked incredulously, Wanda shook her head and just as you were to say something else Billy came forward speaking loudly.
“Daddy said mommies didn't deserve breakfast and they should be serving us.” Billy made up a face sulking a little. “But Balder told us that his dad serves breakfast to his mommy… Because he loves her…”
Tommy placed his hand on his chin, pursing his lips while glancing up at where you were standing frozen in place after such a revelation.
“Do you love mommy?” Tommy finally asked, and it was his question what broke the uncomfortable tension in the room.
Your face turned in a mask of reds and disbelief, while Wanda was just as mortified as you. The twins, blissfully ignorant of what they had just done, went back to crawl inside Wanda's bed and turned the TV on.
Wanda was afraid to lift her gaze and discover disgust in your face, perhaps to find you looking at her as if Vision had been right all along. You don't deserve to eat, dear, last night I wasn't satisfied as I should be and you have to make it up to me today.
You cleared your throat stepping closer with a grin in place. Your eyes gleamed warmly, tilting your head to catch those green irises in yours.
“Well, boys, mommies deserve breakfast in bed every single day of the week.” You declared casually. “You guys love your mommy, right?”
Wanda's heart shrank with emotion when the twins exclaimed a loud yes, you were now dangerously close to her.
“Then, it is obvious that she needs her breakfast.” You cleared your throat once more and this time around Wanda did look up to see you before her. “Let me make sure you have your first warm breakfast in bed, Wands.”
For a brief moment, you and Wanda stared into one another's eyes without any need to break into explanations. You were not asking for them, and Wanda was too afraid to say something and scared you away. The young woman fixed her position in bed, and you soon placed the trail on her lap. You offered a quick smile nodding to the twins and the tray.
“Now, Wands, you go ahead and eat while you watch some cartoons with the children.”
“Cartoons?” Wanda asked amusedly, whatever nervousness she was experimenting with was diminished by your comment. The twins nodded watching as you surf the channels looking for some good cartoons.
“Yes, Saturday mornings are mornings of cartoons and sleeping in until you can't take bed anymore.” You winked at her, and Wanda melted at the sight.
She was foolish not to think that this was nothing more than a friendly gesture, and Wanda knew later on she would need to provide explanations about the comments made by Billy. But at the moment she could give in the moment, enjoyed the warm meal and the familiarity of the scene.
Soon you found something Billy and Tommy asked for and the room filled with the sound of paw patrol. You smirked at Wanda who winced lightly while Tommy and Billy were hooked from the start.
“And, what are you supposed to do now?” Wanda asked teasingly, you stood there for a moment putting the rose you had in your back pocket out and placing it on the tray. “Are you going to stay with us?”
Wanda tried to make it sound casual, as if she was just teasing you. But the air left her lungs when you leaned in, your eyes locked on hers, twinkling with an emotion that made Wanda's heart jump in her throat and her core tremble with longing.
“Now you enjoy and later on I will wait for you at my place for lunch.”
“Stay.” Wanda said before she could stop herself, she opened her eyes, lowering her gaze. “I mean… You're here now, so you could have breakfast and…”
You chuckled winking at her, “perhaps at another time. Right now I have to run some errands and I want to make sure Billy and Tommy are okay before you wake up.”
“Thank you.” Wanda mumbled, you waved away her words walking backwards with a grin adorning your features.
“Don't mention it, it was my pleasure. See you later, Wands.”
You almost crashed against the threshold, cursing lowly while hearing the snort of amusement from Wanda. Blushing lightly you shook your head and exited the room before you could do or say something that would put you in the spotlight.
Wanda was left with her children, the food was warm and her stomach grumbled reminding her that she had been angry when waking up.
“Okay, guys, I need you to tell me why you call America again.” Wanda finally asked, turning to Billy first then to Tommy.
The twins took their attention away from the TV looking at Wanda.
“She is cool, Mommy.” Billy said as if that was the best argument in the world.
“I know she is, Billy, but she probably was asleep at home and she has things to do.” Wanda tried to reason with them, it was not the first time they had done this and Wanda was starting to think this could be bothering you and America at some point.
“I like America and Y/N.” Tommy said, leaning closer to Wanda. “They make mommy smile.”
Billy nodded in agreement, “mommy, you like them too?”
Wanda flushed at the question, she pressed her lips together and decided to stuff her mouth with pancakes instead of answering that particular question. She let her thoughts run rampant, her body tingling with anticipation for the lunch time to be there already.

Laughter filled the room, reverberating deep inside her soul at the sight before her.
Billy and Tommy were on the floor, holding onto their stomachs while laughter erupted from them with a young woman poking at them while a grown adult kept on making noises while the voice on the phone demanded seriousness. Wanda sat on the dark blue chair in the corner, she was closer to the fireplace and the window, the rain falling freely right outside the house. If anyone had asked her a couple of months ago the changes she had experimented in her life, she would have thought them crazy. Wanda had never considered herself strong, or even extraordinary, and quite frankly she never thought she would make it out of Vision’s grasp; when the time came for her to make decisions, it came as a surprised just how strong she really was. How ready she was to start fighting for who she was, and what she wanted.
Leaning back against the cushioned back of the chair, Wanda chuckled at the sight of Billy and Tommy enjoying themselves without a care in the world. Her green eyes flickered briefly from Billy and Tommy to America, the young woman was grinning like mad while putting the mobile away before turning the TV on, her soothing voice and clear wording made it impossible for the twins to ignore her. Wanda had seen the growing affection between her children and their babysitter, how that young woman had come over their lives and help the twins out of their scary shell.
For a moment, Wanda kept her eyes on a single spot between the twins and America. She was fighting over with her thoughts, the fluttering in her heart made her tingled until fluttering butterflies awoke at the pit of her stomach. Without any excuses to keep her eyes away from you, she let her green stare to fall upon your relaxed form on the floor.
You were resting your back against the sofa, one leg on the floor and the other bend slightly towards your chest. Your face was a mask of pure relaxation, there was a soft trace of flush on your cheeks and those eyes were completely soft and warmth as they focused on the children. Not for a single moment had you shown any disgust or exasperation against the twins, you were not even bored after answer a million questions and then telling them stories about yours and America’s younger days.
Wanda held her hands closer to her chest, her heart twisted inside her chest making her experiment a spark of longing. Wanda longed for this to be her life, and just for that brief moment, Wanda could pretend this was her life. With Billy, Tommy, with America and with…with you.
But just as this thought sneaked inside her mind, she shook it away with panic rising inside her mind. It was impossible! She was not attracted to women, and she most certainly was not attracted to you! She couldn’t! She shouldn’t! And thus, she would bury those emotions and forget all about them. With time, Wanda knew she would realize this was just her way of developing friendships. Right?
“Woah, earth to Wanda? Earth to Wanda!!”
You were waving your hand in front of her face, the young woman shook her head blushing profusely with you just a few inches away from her grinning amusedly. Wanda could tell everyone had her attention on her, and she just hoped she had not been staring at you in an obvious way.
“I thought you want to either hit me or kiss me for the way you were looking at me.” You teased shaking your head in triumph when Wanda winced mortified.
“I wanted to hit you…” She stated through gritted teeth, you chuckled leaning back.
“Keep telling yourself that, Princess.” You winked at the young woman, before tilting your head back.
Billy, Tommy, and America were now seated on the sofa watching a movie, and while the rain was still falling right outside your windows, it was no late than four in the afternoon.
“I was asking you, if you want to start working on the preparations for the festival.” You lowered your gaze furrowing your brows. “We can use the studio and leave them here watching a movie.”
Still shaken by your early comment, Wanda tried to regain her wits before facing you again.
“Yes, I think we could go and work a little, there are a lot of things I would like to ask you about, and perhaps get to know a little better.” Wanda was about to stand up when you stretched out your hand, offering a support for her to take and stand up.
It took her a moment of hesitation before she came into contact with your hand. It felt warm against hers, and your fingertips were soft under her calloused palm. You offered a half smile, Wanda tried to smile back but it came as a grimace making her wince at her lack of decor to actually return such a simple gesture. Wanda thought you would let go as soon as she had stood up, but instead you took her hand in yours guiding her through the living room down the dinning room to the hall leading a to a single white door.
“My dad built his mancave in the basement.” You started explaining while going down the stairs with Wanda following close behind. “It became the studio for everyone in the house since he was incapable of being alone for far too long. He started bringing my toys and my things as well as some of America’s or even mom’s stuff.”
“This place is huge.” Wanda couldn’t help but admire the room, it had been well-adapted and there was no humidity or coldness sneaking inside the place.
It had a single desk in the far corner, with a lamp and a laptop. There were a couple of inflatable chairs, a sofa bed, and a couple of futons; on the wall there was a TV and Wanda could see three different gamer consoles with the respective controls. This really had become more than a studio and more like a game room inside the house, and whenever America and her friends were up for a sleepover this was the place they stayed in
You were standing at the bottom of the stairs, scratching the back of your neck waiting for Wanda to say something. The young woman walked around the place, her eyes following the different patterns, the furniture, and then to the pictures decorating one of the walls. In there she could see the pictures of your younger self with your parents, some of you and your friends, and then America and her friends. Wanda softened slightly, her eyes falling into one picture that had a baby America clinging to you, behind the both of you were your parents smiling happily at the picture. For all your bravado, and rudeness, these were the glimpses of the real you that Wanda found endearing; she turned around to see you fidgeting near the stairs, as if you had been waiting her approval.
There was a single moment in which she found herself looking directly into your eyes. You were trying to hold yourself in a casual manner, trying always to look as compose and in control as you presented yourself most of the time. But right now, you were just nervous and Wanda couldn’t help but think you were looking cute, and apart of her was hoping perhaps, this sudden nervous trait of yours was because of her.
“This is a game room, you know that, right?” Wanda finally exclaimed, her lips curling slightly. “And it looks like the playground of a 15-year-old teen.”
You crunched up your nose lifting your finger, “now look here, this is a pretty decent game room, and it fits the needs of a couple of orphans that wanted to make this a good place to play.”
Wanda chuckled making her way to the laptop, you followed her soon after sitting down on your favourite chair while putting your mobile out.
“We haven’t changed anything, you know?” You finally revealed, Wanda took a seat right beside you tilting her head with curiosity. “I mean, this is how dad decorated it. Sure, we added some things, and some pictures and games but…dad decorated it himself. He…he was a 15-year-old at heart.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t—” Wanda started but you stopped her waving your hand away.
“Oh, no, no, don’t worry, I just…you made me remember that discussion with mom.” You shrugged then. “I think, America and I never thought of changing this one room, the rest of the house has to go through some renewals, but this place…our last movie night was in this room. I think we never thought this place needs changing.”
It was the first time Wanda saw the vulnerability in you, the way your words tinged with sorrow and nostalgia, how your eyes held onto the glistening tears while your lips quirked upwards. You turned to Wanda, and in there she could see a strong woman that had been dealing with more chaos that she let on. Wanda hesitated for a moment before placing her warm hand on top of yours, her own features softening to offer you a single smile.
“It looks incredible, you know? I think that it really suits you and America.”
You snorted nodding before looking away, “so, let’s get to work then, I have a couple of ideas that may work for this occasion.”
Wanda accepted the sudden change of topic with a short nod, but she didn’t miss the smile playing on your lips or the closeness you two were sharing at the moment. The young woman turned to the laptop to a word document you just opened, ready to start working.
“So, what shall we do?”
Wanda chuckled with her cheeks warming up, she too turned to the laptop opening her mouth to start sharing the ideas that had been in her mind for a couple of days. Your fingers moving fast on the keyboard, your own ideas being brought upfront until you and her engaged in a conversation you would replay in your mind for days to come.

Time passed by so quickly, by the time you decided to look at your watch it read 9 p.m.
Rain had stopped a long time ago, and the noise from upstairs came muffled by the close door of the basement. You were laughing at some silly story Wanda had told you about her twin, and the young woman was just grinning at the sight of your own smile. While you had never doubt Wanda was smart, this was the very first time you shared a conversation with the woman; her quick wit, alongside her opinions and her own ideas let her shine with a light of her own. She was not only smart, but also funny and soon you found yourself wanting to continue with the conversation, to not let go of the fuzzy shivering of your heart just as Wanda gestured with her hands, speaking excitedly about the arrangements in the main hall of Stark’s compound.
And while you seemed completely hooked by the woman sitting in front of you, Wanda was not in a better position.
It had been far too long since she allowed herself to get closer to anyone that was not pre-approved by Vision. She had almost forgotten what it was to give her opinion and to actually share her thoughts and her knowledge in a conversation. You were not only smart but funny, and while you and her thought differently on many topics, you were always up for a negotiation and a well-thought argument that Wanda loved to retort only to see your eyebrow twitched, and then the glint of disbelief in your eyes. It had been so long since Wanda allowed herself to be this close to anyone, to actually leaned in just to get closer to another person without breaking the distance to steal a kiss.
Wanda found herself relaxing into the banter, and as the night progressed she found herself longing. What for? She was scared to even go behind the answer to such a question. And still, she hoped for you to just do something and ended with her misery and her uncertainty. Of course, as soon as these thoughts flourish in her mind, another darker one came in, and soon she found the face of Carol Danvers sneaking in just to remind Wanda you were already taken.
Her eyes flickered down to her feet, her heart tugging painfully in her chest. She felt tears pricking at her eyes, while her stomach dropped at the memory of you kissing the blond-haired woman, of that woman holding onto you in the Stark event.
“Hey, you okay?” Your hand rested tentatively on top of hers, Wanda let her green eyes focused on the hands before she nodded curtly.
“Yes, sorry I just…” She tried to explain herself, the tears just rolling slowly making her felt like an idiot. She was about to speak when your fingertips wipe the tears away.
You were frowning deeply, Wanda found herself lost in your eyes and the honest concern she saw written in them.
“Wands…” You started but Wanda just shook her head standing up, she put on her best smile stretching her right hand to grab yours.
“Come, I think we need a tea or something, and the kids have been far to silent for my taste…”
Your frown deepened, but you decided to not make a comment about it. You grabbed Wanda’s hand in yours and soon you were following her close behind, her hand was warm against yours, your heart beating painfully in your chest. The first floor was in complete darkness, the only light coming from the living room that had the TV on, a movie was playing there, and on the sofa were Billy, Tommy and America, all snuggled up covered by a blanket and pillows to make it comfortable.
Wanda stopped on her tracks, her face softening at the sight.
She let go of you, stepping closer to the sofa and brushing Tommy’s hair away. The boy sighed turning slightly to snuggle closer to America, Billy was sprawled on the free space, and America had her hand wrapped protectively around to child’s knee. The whole scene was overwhelming to Wanda, the peace in her children’s face, the fact she could just let go of her worries knowing they were safe, that she was safe…
It was overwhelming.
Wanda never thought she would get to where she was at the moment, she never thought the day she met you that she would allow you to engulf her in a hug letting her sob for a moment. You stood there, making soothing circles on the young woman’s back not really knowing what to say, but making sure Wanda was following into the kitchen.
You sat Wanda down on the chair, turning towards the stove to start heating the water for the tea. The room was in complete silence, Wanda let her hand covered her face for what seemed an eternity until she gathered enough courage to start talking.
“You must think I’m weird, that I’m just this crazy person that doesn’t know how to keep her emotions in check.” Wanda blurted out glancing at the counter while wriggling her hands. “We were just having a good time, and I come and mess it up by crying and acting like an idiot.”
You stopped what you were doing, for a brief moment your back was still turned towards Wanda until you turned around facing the other woman.  Wanda never looked up, but you didn’t need her too, not yet anyway.
“I think you are amazing, Wands.” You leaned back against the sink, your hands resting on the table. “But I guess, your life has not been easy.”
Wanda snorted bitterly, her arms wrapping around herself, she had not forgotten about Billy’s comment early that morning, Wanda knew you had listened to it as if that wasn’t enough, you had also seen the scars in Tommy’s back. You had seen her at her most vulnerable, after the party thrown for the school; Wanda was afraid to look into your eyes and discover disgust in your eyes. She was afraid to actually find in those eyes understanding, and sympathy…
The world around her froze in time, a pair of fingers placed tenderly under her chin. Wanda felt the air on her lungs tangled in her throat, she trembled to her very core when her eyes found yours in a single stare. Whatever she expected to find in your glance, it was certainly not the warmth emotion filled with affection and something she could not name. You smiled at her, your hand brushing lightly on her skin before putting a strand of hair behind her ear.
“We don’t have to talk about it, if you don’t want to.” Your voice was soft, Wanda shivered shaking her head afraid to break the moment.
“I left my husband a couple of months ago.” She whispered placing her hand on your wrist. “He was not good to me or my children, and I just knew I have to leave before anything bad happen.”
It was not the whole truth, and Wanda felt bad at not being completely honest with you but in reality she was not ready to tell you the full story. How her life and that of the twins had been in danger, that the last time he had hit Wanda she was left to dead and taken to the hospital after Vision realized she could actually die. That he had used a cord from the television to hit Tommy on his back, and then had broken Billy’s arm. That he had threatened to kill the twins and then used Wanda like a breeding stock to keep her by his side.
Wanda was not ready to tell you, of all people, these things.
You opened your mouth wanting to ask something, anything, but you decided there was nothing else you needed to know. It is not my story to tell.
Natasha had said to you once, and now that you were looking into Wanda’s face, you realized, it was a story that the other woman needed to be ready to tell. You pressed your lips together, taking your hand away while stepping back a little.
“I’m sorry, Wanda.” You said the first thing that came to mind.
Wanda broke into a bitter smile, her mirthless laughter sending shivers down your back.
“People don’t usually know what to say when I tell the story, so it’s fine.” Wanda shrugged turning her back to you. “I’m still getting use to…everything, that’s why I’ve been going to Doctor Hope, and why I ended up here.”
You didn’t need to ask anything else, it was not secret that Natasha was part of a secret group that helped people victims of violence. You had even contributed at some point with money and contacts, but it had never been your forte, your stepmother was the one involved with the group. Knowing that Wanda ended up at your doorstep because of this, because she was running and hiding stirred something deep inside your heart.
You felt the need to protect her and the twins.
“I guess it doesn’t help that I’m an asshole to you most of the time, eh?”
Your commented caught her off guard, and soon Wanda was actually laughing. You joined her sitting on the counter while leaning against your hand. Wanda put her hair away shrugging.
“You were the only one actually being you around me.” She replied. “So, I kind of appreciated you being an asshole, it helped me focus my anger against someone different than me.”
You snorted, bowing mockingly at her.
“I’m always glad to be of service, Princess.” Then, in a moment of inspiration you winked at her and added. “I can always be of some use, and continue being an ass to you, so you have someone to fight with.”
Wanda shook her head, this time around her face transformed into an expression you were far too afraid to decipher. Her eyes gleamed, and her lips broke into an easy smile.
“Even though your proposal is very tempting, I think I like you more now.” Wanda opened her eyes really big she waved her hands stuttering with a full blush on her face; you arched your brows looking at her amusedly.
“Oh, you like me now? Really?” You teased, and she stood up rather fast stepping back making her way to the kettle.
“Oh, shut it, you know what I mean.” She tumbled over her words, with her back to you to hide away her embarrassment.
“Yes, you mean you like me, woah, Princess I didn’t know you swing that way…” Your laughter died off when the dishcloth she was using hit you in the face. “Hey!”
Wanda rolled her eyes trying to control her flustered cheeks, she mocked glare at you before spreading her arms rather exasperated.
“Can you help me with the tea, please?” She huffed when you chuckled jumping to the floor.
“Sure, Princess, anything you want.” You said winking at her, “after all, this is why you like me…”
“God, you’re impossible.” She mumbled trying to ignore her beating heart, or the grin threatening to break upon her lips.
You chuckled grinning smugly at her, nothing much was said about the topic, you didn’t press for more information and Wanda was just glad to share her story at her own pace. The silence that followed your teasing was one of pure familiarity, with you working alongside Wanda while making sure the tea was served with honey and milk.
“Have you ever been to Kamar Taj?” Your question came out of the blue, Wanda made a face blinking a couple of times while shrugging.
“Not really…” She answered tentatively not really knowing where this question came from.
“Well, let me show you…” You fumbled with your mobile, the tip of your tongue poking through your lips as you search for the images. “And, let me tell you the story of how America and I got therapy after our parents accident.”
Wanda found herself admiring you from afar, your words held just a tinge of sadness in them, but your eyes gleamed with peace and affection as you located the pictures and started showing them to Wanda. You opened up to her, telling Wanda about Stephen and Cristine, about Tony and Pepper, and how everyone came together for you and your sister.  You were talking excitedly, your hands expanding the sights you had seen in Asia, but Wanda’s eyes had never left your face, or your expressions…She had never stopped looking at you, and if you had been paying attention, you would have noticed the deep affection gleaming in those green eyes.
__________________________________
Monday morning came with more troubles than solutions.
You hit your head on the desk, your assistant huffing in disapproval while she continued with your schedule for the rest of the morning and the afternoon. You had just come to the office after an accident in the production floor, some of the computers had malfunction, and half of the operation had stopped until IT and the facilities team to fix everything up.
The only thing holding you up, was the memory of your weekend.
Saturday ended with Wanda staying at your home, the twins were fast asleep and it would have been rather dangerous to just carry them in the middle of a cold night to their house. They were warm, and the chilly night could make them sick, or so you reasoned with Wanda; you won the argument, and she slept with the twins on the basement, while America kept on shooting you knowing glances you didn’t even bother to acknowledge.
Then, Sunday came in and Wanda decided to repay your generosity with breakfast.
Everything had been too damn domestic, and you had woken up on Monday morning panicking. What the hell were you doing? What were you thinking? Wanda was straight as an arrow! She had children! She was married! Sure, her husband was an asshole and no longer in the picture but she was way beyond your league!
She probably didn’t even like women or was curious about being with one! She was probably…
“Really, Y/N, if you’re not going to pay attention to me I’m not going to be here to pass you notes or messages to know what you’re supposed to be talking about.” Maria Hill crossed her arms glaring at you with such intensity you sometimes doubt who was the boss in here.
“Sorry, Maria, I’m…I’m just distracted.”
“No shit, boss.” Maria sighed stepping forward before sitting down. “Spill, I cannot do my job and you certainly can’t do yours if you keep this up, what happened?”
You sighed leaning back on your chair while glancing at the ceiling, you had been an emotional mess all weekend but it only worsened as soon as you woke up that morning and you realized you missed Wanda. Which was completely ridiculous since you had just spent the weekend with her, and it wasn’t even that extraordinary! You both had worked on the preparations for the festival, you had just spent the weekend with a friend and her children. Nothing more.
“I just had the strangest weekend ever.” You mumbled knowing Maria had her brown eyes fixed on you, more than an assistant, Maria had become in your confident whenever you felt the world on your shoulders.
It was a relief, and the woman always had the right words and the right advice for you. She was a good person, and her willingness to usually put up with you was enough to make you trust in her.
“Strangest…how?” She inquired placing her tablet on the table.
You chuckled crowing your hands on your abdomen, tilting your head you locked eyes with her.
“My neighbour, America’s teacher, we…Natasha selected us to organise the Winter Festival for the school,” you shrugged looking away, you missed the flash of recognition in Maria’s stare. “She came home and we just…I don’t know, we just talk and kinda bond…you know?”
Maria cocked a brow not missing for one second your wishful stare, or the inflections on your voice. She had heard from Natasha the strange hate/friendship relationship you had developed with your neighbour. But this was the first time she saw it in action; now Maria understood why Natasha had decided to meddle in it.
“And you bond…physically?” She asked half amused and half exasperated at your reaction.
You jumped startled, your cheeks burning red just as you started stuttering an answer.
“N-no! Of course not!” You shook your head standing up and passing left and right, “I was just…we were just…it was a friendly bond! You know? We talked about ourselves, and our lives and shit like that.”
“Charming.” Maria rolled her eyes once more, she then grabbed her tablet again clearing her throat. “Look, Y/N, I think that you have to wonder why this non-physical bonding with a neighbour you found infuriating is affecting you so much.”
You stopped your passing turning to the window, the sight before you were that of a busy city filled with people coming in and out of the streets. You could feel Maria’s eyes on you, she was waiting for your answer and you knew you needed to concentrate on the oncoming meetings; besides, she was right. Why were you so worked up about the weekend? Why were you so affected?
“I just…I’m not sure.” You dropped your shoulders turning slightly. “What else do I have for today?”
Maria pressed her lips together, she was very tempted to pressing the matter and get more answers out of you. But she had been by your side long enough to know, it would be pointless you were far too confused to actually get into a serious talk. By the time you turned to face her, Maria knew you were in full business mode and whatever had been distracting you was pushed deep inside your mind, avoiding your emotions was something you were very adept at.
“You have lunch with Carol Danvers.” Maria smirked at your reaction; you winced placing a hand at the nape of your neck. “She actually made it official; we still had some contracting with the government and since she is the new liaison for Camp Davis you couldn’t say no.”
You nodded curtly, knowing the meeting was Carol’s way to get your attention on a topic you had been avoiding for more than a week. When did you relationship with Carol changed so much? Why did it change so much?
“And then, after that you have a business meeting with Edwin Jarvis, you know? The CEO from Vision Enterprise.” Maria furrowed her brows putting up some files. “He is looking to get some investment in AI technology and has some interesting ideas.”
You nodded absentmindedly, your mind still on Carol and Wanda.
“I think I’ve heard of him, Tony mentioned him at some point.” Maria clicked her tongue and this time around you did pay attention to her. “What is it?”
“This individual, he is also being investigated.” She replied softly, your eyes open slightly taking a seat on your chair you leaned forward.
“Go on, what is it? Should I cancel the meeting?”
Maria pursed her lips before shaking her head.
“He is being investigate for some fraud and industrial espionage.” Maria put the file in front of you, you turned to your screen reading the file she just sent to you. “It seems this is an ongoing matter, but there is also a sealed file about his wife and his children.”
“He sounds like the kind of individual I don’t want to be relate to, Maria.” You pursed your lips reading over the investigation for tax evasion and industrial espionage, the one on his wife and children was left blank and had a seal from the federal government on top of it.
“I know; however, Tony wants you to meet with him.”
This time around you couldn’t hide your surprised, you cocked your head to the side and then your eyes opened wide in understanding.
“Very well, what do I have to do?”
“I’m so glad that you always catch up once you have your mind out of the gutter.” Maria smirked leaning in while ignoring your sputtering protests.
_______________
The restaurant was packed.
Carol had chosen the restaurant right around the corner of your building, it was an old place filled with golden lights, and white tables with a darkened interior and sweet classical music dancing around the place. It was the home for old and new members of society, and it was the preferred place for the high ranking officers of the military when they wanted to make a good deal.
Your eyes swept the interior trying to locate the woman that was waiting for you, Carol waved at you from the far corner of the restaurant the table for two located it near the window right beside a beautiful fountain made of coloured water. The young woman wore her uniform, the signs that she had been in a formal meeting moments before meeting with you.
“Hey.” You greeted leaning in to place a kiss on her cheek, Carol smiled sweetly at you indicating the chair while calling over the waitress.
“Hey, thank you for coming.” She stated lowering her gaze for a moment before facing you again, you winced grabbing the menu and asking for something light and some water before focusing your attention on Carol.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“You had been avoiding me.” Carol didn’t beat around the bush, she grabbed her glass of water and took a long sip with her eyes pinning you to your spot.
You shifted your weight leaning forward, your mouth opened ready to deny her words but unable to do so. In reality, she was right, you had been avoiding her; ever since she proposed to you the trip to Eastern Europe you knew the relationship should stop but you didn’t dare to do so, and this inability to get your relationship clear with Carol had been the downfall of you affair with her.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have.” You replied lamely, Carol sighed dropping her face her voice marked with the vulnerability she felt at the moment.
“I think you know I’m in love with you.” Carol took a deep breath, her lips trembling as she spoke. “I’ve been trying so hard to make you fall for me, I…I knew what I was getting into when I agreed to this relationship, but I always thought…I really want you to come with me, Y/N, let me…let me be the one for you, just as you have become the one for me.”
The room filled with heavy air, and deafening silence.
Your heart shrank at her confession, and your hand stirred at your side wanting to reach out and grab Carol’s hand. The blond-haired woman offered a single smile, but it was quite evident to you that tears were threatening to leave her eyes.
“I’m sorry.” You mumbled passing your hand through your hair. “I was not fair to you, Carol.”
Carol snorted looking out of the window, the waitress chose that moment to bring the food and, as soon as he was gone you continued.
“I do love you, you know? I never thought of this to be jus an affair, and I…” You trailed off not knowing how to explain to Carol that you tired, you really did.
She had always been special, a friend that you could always turn to whenever things went bad or good, she had been there for you when your parents died and when Shuri broke your heart. At first you hadn’t understood why she was so unconditional until, one day while you were hating on yourself and the world she kissed you and the affair was born. It was supposed to be with not attachments, and yet Carol couldn’t help herself once she got to see a side of you she had never seen before. You wished it had been the same for you, but you always thought this relationship was nothing more than two good friends helping one another.
You had been unfair. And Carol didn’t deserve it.
“I wished I had fallen in love with you, Carol. I really do.” You finally confessed, this time around you did stretch your hand and grabbed hers in yours.
Carol lowered her stare to your hand, tempted to just pull away but giving into the comforting touch. She swallowed down her tears, her lips breaking into a bittersweet smile.
“I thought this meeting would be different, you know?” Carol let out a breath, pressing her lips tightly. “I thought perhaps…”
You lifted her hand, leaning in placing a soft kiss on her knuckles.
“I’m still here, you know?”
Carol nodded hesitating before speaking, “so, will you go with me? Will you…give us a chance?”
You dropped your eyes, your mouth opened then close again.
“Would you stay? Would you try to give me a chance?” You asked back, and just for that brief moment Carol was tempted to say ‘yes’, but the truth was she could not stay.
Carol had worked from an early age on her dream to be part of the Airforce, to get on top of her game and surpass that boy’s club that had dominated the Airforce for far too long. She and Maria had been working hard on this, and when she was offered the position, Carol knew what she had to do. Her love for you was there, and you had been the only one that made her doubt her career choices; Carol had been ready to say no, until she talked to Maria again and was faced with her dream and her goals.
I know you love her, Carol, but are you ready to leave your dreams behind for someone, anyone? Are sure this won’t come back later on as a reproach for missed chances?
“I’ve been waiting so long for this.” Carol mumbled; you smiled nodding.
“I know, and you don’t know how proud I am. You deserve this, Carol, and you will always count with me to be there for you.” You hesitated before standing up and putting your chair closer to the blond-haired woman, Carol opened her eyes letting out a chuckled when you finally put your chair closer to her.
“What are you doing?” Carol laughed when you fixed everything so you would be closer to her, without letting go of the hand you had been holding for comfort.
“Just moving closer to you, you have always been my friend, Carol, regardless of what happened I do love you, and you are my friend, I hope you know that.”
Carol melted under your words, she returned her attention to her food before speaking again.
“You are my friend as well, Y/N.” Carol looked back at you, “and that’s why I have to ask, are you…do you…what’s going on with Wanda, Y/N?”
“What? Why?” You leaned back, eyes opening at the sudden question.
Carol rolled her eyes, this time around she did look rather upset.
“Well, it is quite obvious something is happening, I’m mean the last couple of times you couldn’t stop talking about her, and then when we met at the supermarket you were…weird.”
You sputtered shaking your head looking away from Carol, “no, no, nothing, I just…she is…she is the mother of the children America babysits for, nothing else.”
Carol didn’t seem convince by your words, she took a sip from her water pursing her lips.
“Are you sure? I mean you look…” Carol could see this topic was not something you were ready for, you squirmed on your chair emptying the glass of water while playing with your food. “Y/N…”
“Nothing, there is nothing, she is just a neighbour… nothing else.”
The conversation changed afterwards.
For Carol it was quite evident you didn’t want to talk about the topic, and if she was going to be honest, she didn’t want to know. Those two different times she had seen you interact with the redhead; she had seen a glint in your eyes Carol was not familiar with; it was a glance she yearned to obtain from you, but it seemed to just be for a single individual. You hadn’t even look Shuri in such a way, and this was what made Carol hesitated about the situation.
But the time lunch was over, you and Carol had found peace in the conversation. You two found a common topic, and soon business was on the table while she asked for your opinion on the subjects that would soon dominate her life, while you asked about the oncoming meetings.
“I will miss you.” Carol said hugging you tightly, you hugged her back smiling softly while enjoying the woman in your arms.
“I’m going to miss you too, Carol.” She stepped back, but she was still close enough you could feel her warm breath on your face. “Carol…”
Your words were cut off by a pair of lips against yours, the kiss was slow tentative touch of the lips teasing you. Carol was flustered once she stepped back, she offered a smile that you returned with a shake of your head.
“Just a good-bye kiss.” She winked at you turning around and walking towards the parking lot.
You watched her leave, a heavy heart inside your chest wondering if you made the right decision by letting go of a woman that had shown you so much love in the last couple of months. You put your hands in your pockets turning round to walk towards your building, you couldn’t keep her by your side waiting to fall in love with her, that wouldn’t be fair with her, or with you.
With a last glance to the sidewalk, you stepped back and went back to your office, a weight you didn’t know you were carrying on your back finally lifting up and leaving you lighter and open to the world of possibilities you had been trying to bury deep inside your mind, a world of possibilities that had a name of its own: Wanda Maximoff.
________________
“Oh, I didn’t know you were a woman.” The man smiled charmingly at you, his hand stretched out while he glanced around the room as if waiting for someone else to come forth into the meeting. “Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to see you are a beautiful woman, but for some reason I have always thought of Y/L/N instead of your first name.”
You forced a smile at the absurdity of his comment, he merely laughed and went to take a seat to the left side of the table. You crossed stares with Maria who shot you a cold glare as a warning to keep your cool and not to do or say anything incorrectly.
“Right, I bet it is a common mistake.” You sat down as well leaning back on your chair while pointing with your hand the file on the table. “I’m glad I get to know you as well, Mr. Jarvis, I’ve been reading to your proposal and me and my team had a counteroffer for you.”
“Oh, a counteroffer?” Jarvis grabbed the file in his hands, he started reading while ignoring the rest of the room.
You had chosen the conference room of tenth floor for the meeting, the place was packed with only a couple of offices and some storage rooms that were the home of the material used on the production floor and the operations room. It was the most neutral ground you could find, more so after finding out how the man operated. The room was almost empty, no decorations on the walls, with a single window that was left facing the city. You let your eyes wandered to Maria who was sitting at the other end of the table, her hands busy with her tablet and her phone while she too made sure to watch the man closely.
“Everything seems to be in order but, I don’t get it.” He stated pointing to a section in the contract. “It says in here that you would only provide with money if I worked here, is that correct?”
“Yes, I prefer this kind of deals to be in a controlled environment.” You shrugged putting your hands together. “Our contracts go directly under the government, and we cannot risk losing any data because of unknown facilities.”
“My business is very secure, Mrs. Y/L/N.” Jarvis straightened up hardening his stare.
“I don’t have any doubts about that, but you have to understand this is part of the non-negotiables, this is the most secure red in the world and what you intended to do will require such facilities to prevent espionage. I think this is a pretty sweet deal for the both of us.”
Jarvis clenched her jaw close, his cheek burning up with embarrassment at being played at like a child. His eyes drifted to the contract, not only was he being ordered to work in some unknown facilities, he would also be made to sign a non-disclosure clausule and the rights for his technology.
“You are asking for far too much, Mrs. Y/L/N, and I'm afraid I'm not seeing the benefits such a deal will bring to me.” Jarvis leaned forward placing his arm on the table, his hand playing with the pen. “You are not the only company interested in buying this idea, and I have to say their proposals are more seductive…”
“And yet, here you are.” You leaned back against your chair, your eyes examining the man sitting in front of you.
Maria had done a good research of him, a married man he started his business thanks to a small inheritance on his father's part and then to the money left by his father in law. He had built a solid company in the industry of technology and entertainment, nothing too extravagant but enough to make him a notorious and well-adjusted member of society in Westview and Jersey. He had tried to jump into major leagues with a risky inversion that ended up with him almost in bankruptcy. Then, all of a sudden, his business got better and now he was someone selling away his ideas to the best buyer. It was then the investigation started leading Homeland and some federal authorities to be not only after him but also after some red of business people that had dedicated their lives to steal ideas of millions of dollars from others.
You knew you were not risking much in this deal, and quite honestly you would be more than happy if the man decided to go after another buyer, but right now your company was being targeted mainly because you were the number one in the business. Maria had assured you he would bite the bait, people thought your company while one of the most powerful in the world had lost its edge after your dad's death. They were looking for the weakest link to just get their hands in a portion of the business you dealt with. No one could imagine you had been dealing with one crisis after another with an iron fist and good advisors.
Jarvis seemed to think that this was the opportunity he had been waiting for, he didn't seem to like the fact it was you the one he had to deal with. When he first acceded to this he was told he would deal with the old man in charge of Alchemax. He never thought he would need to deal with a young woman, but he could always start the deal before charming his way into her pants and getting something good out of this.
“You are right, here I am.” His whole demanour changed in a second, he opened up his arms, tilting his head he sent a flirty smile your way with his eyes twinkling at you. “I never thought I will be bested at negotiations by such a beautiful and young woman such as yourself, Mrs. Y/L/N, but I can tell you I feel confident of the business we are making today.”
Jarvis grabbed the pen signing the contract with a flourish, you smiled back lifting a single eyebrow to the man who was now trying to be charming and flirty towards you.
“This is the beginning of a great relationship between Alchemax and Vision Enterprise.” You replied standing up while offering your hand to the older man, he stood up as well taking your hand in his and placing a kiss on your knuckles.
You never left the smile off of your face, Jarvis stood dangerously close to you towering above you while pressing you back. Maria was about to stand up but a single gesture from you stopped her. You lifted your head, your eyes going from those eyes to his lips and the smirk in the man's face was all you needed to know at the moment.
“I recognize when I have been bested by someone as beautiful as yourself, what o you say if we go out for dinner and celebrate this new deal?” Jarvis let his thumb brushed the skin of your backhand, he winked at you before continuing. “I know just the place you may like, and perhaps…Who knows? This could be the beginning of something else.”
You giggled, shifting your weight from one foot to the other, the man holding back the victorious smile that was threatening to break on his lips.
“Something like what, Mr. Jarvis?” You asked, lowering your voice, Jarvis this time around straightened up.
“Something more pleasurable for the both of us…”
“Oh, but what about your wife and your children? Are they coming as well, Mr. Jarvis?”
Up until that moment, Jarvis had all but forgotten about Maria sitting at the far end of the table. His shoulders put back, the tension around his eyes heightening the wrinkles in his face, his eyes lost all flirtatious glint while he glared at the other woman. The subject of her wife was a sore one for him, and while he knew these people didn't know the truth it still made his blood boil whenever that fucking bitch was mentioned.
The embarrassment she had made him experiment was something he would never forgive her for, and he had most of his resources dedicated to find Wanda and the twins and make sure they were brought to him before he made sure they would never leave his side.
“Wife and children?” You clicked your tongue stepping back while taking the contract in your hands. “I would love to take your offer, Mr. Jarvis, but I do not mess with married men and, most importantly, with business partners. The facilities are ready for you and your team, and the security access has been approved, so you are free to start tomorrow if you want.”
“Now, wait a moment,” Jarvis stepped in trying to salvage the situation, his face once more red with embarrassment. “My wife and children are away with their grandmother, and I just wanted to make it clear my marriage is more a formality to a poor woman who thought getting pregnant would trap me into her delusions of love…”
You turned to the man, your face à mask of disbelief that soon changed into a blank stare. Jarvis smiled weakly at you, lowering his gaze while putting a hand on his pocket.
“I stayed for the children.”
You were not asking for explanations, but the fact this man was ready to give them told you what type of person he was. Maria had made her way to where you were standing her brows out together while ignoring the heated glare Jarvis sent her way.
“Please, Mr. Jarvis, no need to explain yourself.” You replied, shaking your head offering the same innocent and shy smile you had presented him a moment ago. “it is not my business, but either way, I will ask for a rain check since I already had a commitment this afternoon and was not able to accept your invitation.”
Jarvis sighed in relief putting on his charming smile once more. If he got to score something with you, perhaps he wouldn't need Wanda or the brats to get money out of them.
“Then, let me see what can be arranged for you and I to celebrate at a later date.”
“It's a date, now if you excuse me I have a meeting with the board in five minutes.”
You dropped your smile once the lift doors closed in front of you.
“God, I will need a fucking shower after this.” You shivered in disgust, Mary snorted writing something on her tablet.
“At least Fury is going to be happy.” She replied, shrugging. “It's a win-win situation.”
“Next time we're going to let him kiss your hand and try that creepy smile with you, okay?” You retorted crossing your arms. “The nerve of the man! To think I am straight at all!”
Maria laughed at your comment, she held onto her abdomen shaking her head before leaning back against the walls of the lift. You smiled at her lifting a single accusing finger to her.
“Next time, I would let everyone think you are straight and that Natasha is just a really good friend.” That silenced Maria who blushed profusely, turning away from you.
“That's not funny.” She grumbled.
“Oh, it is if you remember how you and Natasha came to be a couple.”
Maria winced trying to bury the memories in her mind, it wasn't so much she didn't treasure the moment she and Natasha found one another. It was just that it was also the most embarrassing time in her life and remembering That moment made her cringe from time to time.
“Anyway, I found the man disgusting, and I considered his wife.” You commented lightly. “He really is quite the character, you could find something else about his family?”
“No, it is a closed file, so I will need special clearance to see it.” Maria waited for a moment but you shook your head.
“No, it doesn't matter anyway, Fury is after the man for tax evasion and espionage. We don't even know what really happened with his wife.”
“Very well.” Maria exited the lift after you, afternoon was already falling and the lights of yellow and orange decorated the sky giving way to the darkness of the night. “Miguel just finished putting the security measures on the red we gave them, and everyone is already aware of what to do.”
“Good then, let's get this one last meeting over so I can go home to my sister…”
“... And your neighbour.” Maria smirked mischievously at you, her amusement growing when your feet falter at the mention of Wanda. “Are you going to tell her you and Carol are no longer together?”.
“Why would I do that?” You replied sharply trying to hide the blush on your face.
“Oh you know? Because you two are friends and there may be a possibility she wants to jump your bones?”
“God you and Natasha are going to be the death of me someday!”
Maria laughed following you inside the main hall towards the conference room. Maria found it amusing how Natasha picked up on this kind of things, now that she and Hope had talked about the topic and that Maria had seen your reactions and the way you talked about Wanda she had to agree that there was something there. Whatever it was, it brought a silly smile to your lips, it made you more relax and open. Maria was certaines you were not ready to admit these changes, or even the implications of your emotions, but there was time and perhaps these moments you were sharing with Maximoff while planning the Winter Festival were the push you needed.
There was only one thing that was worrying Maria and that was  the truth behind Jarvis and Wanda. She hated lying to you, and even more so when someone as important as Wanda was for you was involved. But Natasha had assured her this was the best way to trap the man, and to make sure Wanda and her children were protected while Jarvis faced justice for a long time.
Y/N cannot know anything, Maria, please, she is already involved with Wanda as it is and knowing this could make her act harshly and we need to do this with care to trap the bastard.
“Anyway, I don't even think she… Likes me that way,” there is a hint of regret in your tone, your hand hovering above the knob of the door, you licked your lips frowning deeply before turning to Maria. “Not that it matters at all or anything just… WeWe're good friends, you know? And she is straight as an arrow… So,yeah…”
There was a moment of silence, Maria narrowed her eyes at you but you put on your best smile before opening the door and entering the conference room, whatever you were thinking or even experimenting at the moment completely forgotten as you took the reins of the meeting. Maria storing away this moment, she knew she would need to have a serious talk with Natasha once she got home.
------------------------------------------------------
Next chapter: Reader and Wanda are trying to deny what had become evident to everyone, Riri played her cards well and America is at a crossroads. The twins are getting far too comfortable, and the Winter Festival preparations create a tension between you and Wanda that you didn't dare to break.

Rewatching the 2003 FMA anime -
It sure brings back nostalgia, 2003!FMA was the thing that made me hook up on anime/mangas since middle school, looking for OSTs, opening/ending songs, I even went to my first anime convention thanks to FMA (and brought a trinket for 20 euros but i couldn't care at that time, it was merch!) - hell, FMA was the phenomenon that made me discover the world of fanfics and, by extension, "learn" english to browse more fanfics (i know).
20ish years later though...
(i still read fanfics)
Sure, Arakawa told Sony (Dybex?) to make their own stuff and that they did, so judging on the "faithfulness" of the adaptation itself is a moot point - but the story and the characters in themselves?
Sorry -20ish years me, but damn if that anime is full of inconsistencies, i-hope-it-was-non-intentional meanings, retcons and, tbh, the protagonists are, quite frankly? Not likeable at all ?
One of the major plot lines that completely was created from scratch regarding the canon manga, and is the trademark of the 2003!anime, is how human transmutation, aka trying to resurrect the dead, well, doesn't resurrect dead people, but creates a new living being - those beings later are revealed to be homonculi.
FMA, even the 2003 anime, had that part with the living armors battle, where the protagonists wondered what it meant to be called a human, or even what is a human. Alphonse is only a soul tied to an armor, a "living" armor if you want, but Edwards refuses to consider other "livign armors" as less than humans and kill them, because if he does so, he will have to see his own brother as "not human anymore".
And we saw Tucker - a scientists so hellbent on passing his exam that he lit sacrifices his 4 years old daughter and doggo - who has a human body, human soul and human mind : what makes Tucker more "human" than a living armor, or even Alphonse?
Comes the homonculi reveal and one of the main issues of this anime : 2003!Wrath.
When we are introduced to him, he's just a weird kid with mismatched members, who lost his memories, doesn't understand empathy but bar that, he eats, hugs people, bathes just fine.
And yet, the second he is revealed to be a homonculi, a being born from alchemy, he is considered as a monster and something that should be killed, because he should never have existed in the first place.
And who says that?
Not the antagonists of this arc, no, our protagonists, Edward and Alfonse themselves! To sum up, Wrath has been behaving perfectly fine despite his background being a mystery, but when he is revealed to be a non-human being, our protags want to kill him - because he is a homonculi.
Yeah. GG protags.
Earlier we had the confirmation 2003!Wrath's weird mismatched limbs are actually Edward's missing ones, they accuse him of having "stolen" them - which is true ! - but Armstrong (who is more of a joke character in this continuity than in the manga!) asks them the ultimate question, even if his limbs are Edward's, what are they going to do? Sever them to re-attach them to Ed? Of course not, Ed says...
But in the following episode, we have Al fight against 2003!Wrath, asking him to "give back" his arm and leg to Edward...
What is the viewer even supposed to understand here?
Then we have the entire Greed arc - which also ends on a dud, I mean, Edward screams to whoever wants to hear it that's he's going to kill Greed, and then he truly kills him but screams in horror because he killed someone? Dude? - which, thanks to his chimeras and the bond they created, was enough to tell the viewer that those beings, homonculus, aren't monstruous by nature, sure Envy and Lust are asses, but Greed was shown to care about his newfound friends, and could even live with humans?
No, they're still monsters created through Alchemy, they're not human, thus need to die.
WTF?
2003!Wrath's character background basically oozes of pathos/tragedy : sure, he was not the "baby" Izumi lost when she "created" him, and yet, he was still in a baby-like state who was abandoned - and we later learn his wish was to have a mother - and he is furious at the circumstances of his creation, and abandonment.
And then, enters 2003!Sloth, who is a result of the Elrics' human transmutation. For sure they couldn't "look after" her immediately post transmutation - but they, uh, never wondered where the "thing" they created went? What it did? If it died?
(in the manga Pinako says she buried it as she found it dead when she came to their house)
Sure sure, the main villain Dante (Hell hath no Fury like a Woman Scorned : the Villain) conveniently passed by and snagged the "thing" that would later become Sloth, and yet, we're left to wonder, is the sin the alchemists refering to when they're talking about homonculi is the sin of creating them, or the sin of abandoning them?
It's basically the entire thing with Frankestein's creature, what was the biggest sin, to have created him, or treated him like trash?
To Izumi, who tried - but too late - to reach for baby Wrath, his righteous anger and Izumi's mothering tendencies when she immediatly knew "what/who" he was seems to indicate the second option - she feels like dirt for abandoning Wrath.
But when Edward fights 2003!Sloth - there is no introspection, especially as we see her own flashbacks as a thing that was recovered by Dante - and groomed by her - he will merely kill her because she is his "sin" and because she is a homonculus.
Not because of what she did, but because of what she is.
Our hero, everyone.
...
Yeah... and it's not helped at all by the fact that Mustang, maybe one or two episodes later, tells 2003!Pride that he cannot give a fuck about Pride being a human or a homonculus, but he will kill him to avenge Hugues' death and because of his war-mongering actions as the Furher.
Mustang, Armstrong and Pinako (who tells Ed to shut the fuck up when he goes in his spoiled brat mode wanting to beat Mustang for not telling him about Hughes' death and rushing to his own) were really the heroes of this story lol.
Or... not, concerning Mustang himself, and that's where we enter in the disturbing implications stuff from this anime.
2003!Mustang has PTSD from the Ishval war, in the Marco flashback we see him execute orders and basically nearly have a manga!armstrong level of breakdown - but when we see him roasting Ishvalan children, randoms and all, what really pushes him to the edge, and what the showrunners put emphasis on, is the killing of Winry's parents, aka two amestrians.
Who, in this show, accuses him of having killed her parents and bring the tense moments and accusations of war criminal and murderers? Winry, not the two Ishvalan kids whose mom was toasted during the war.
Make no mistake, the death of a civilian, regardless of their nationality, is always a tragedy.
And yet, between the thousands "brown" Ishvalan people and the couple of "white" Amestrians doctors, which death seems to have affected Mustang more? Which one is often brought to the forefront whenever Mustang, Ishval and civilian casualties are mentionned?
Oh I can't tell if it was 2003, but the, uh, depiction of the Ishvals is just...
Like, people really religious, dark skinned, living in a desert, shunning Alchemy (depicted as science and scientific approach here more than in the manga) and being hellbent on doing "God's" work?
Hm.
They stone someone who's a "great sinner", if it wasn't clear, and the one who initiates the massacre of 7k randoms is, well, an Ishvalan claiming to do this in the name of justice.
2003, right.
Oh, and about this incident, Scar justifies it as "the military" having occupied Liore and, well, Rose's ordeal. And yet, the 7k people he sacrifices weren't the ones who were in Liore (they're part of the randoms who were brought by Archer and Mustang!) and assaulted Rose, no, they were just randoms.
And when you compare this anime to Brotherhood, it gives more spoltight to Mustang's cast of randoms, or even has random loldiers in the background (either being annoyed at Armstrong's antics or, when he was alive, at Hughes') so we have some "randoms in the background" depicted with sympathy. And yet they're all killed to make Alphonse in a philosopher's stone, and Al's first reactions is to run around and swim??
7k lives sacrificed for... Al learning how to swim???
In general 2003!Ed'n'Al are my least favourite protagonists, both because they're too impulsive (Ed effing injures Havoc and Fuery!!), rude and, well, act like brats (I mentionned it earlier, but damn if Al asking Wrath to give back his members is just... wtf).
Alfonse himself becomes a prop and doesn't see much fight - doesn't fight at all - when Ed apparently knows how to create automails (what's Winry good for then?) from scraps of metal and their relationship ultimately ends up as Ed always going "I have to save my brother!" which seriously sucked, especially since earlier in the series (during the lab 5 attack!) Ed had faith in Alphonse knowing how to defend himself.
On that topic, the relationship between the brothers seems... really strained. Where was the Ed who finally managed to apologise to Alfonse and Alfonse vowing to tell him everything we had after the Lab 5 incident?
Now Ed physically restrains Al to talk to their father, doesn't tell him (and straight out lies) about excavating Trisha's remains (who is also Al's mom!) when Al keeps secret about Tucker's phone call. Are they even close anymore? IDK.
The brothers don't trust (never did tbh) Pinako and Winry, Mustang and Armstrong, and eventually, don't trust each other anymore - which can even give that ending some sense : they are now separated but why does this even matter anymore?
Remember when they promised not to die for the other, because they refused the pain of living all alone after the first meeting with Scar where Ed was ready to offer his life to have Al be spared?
Well, the ending of this anime basically pisses on this - Ed is "nearly" dead? Alfonse doesn't want that, so he sacrifices his life to make Ed return, even if it means he will die in the process and leave Ed alone. Ed doesnt' want that? So he will sacrifice himself to make Al return, effectively leaving him alone (but he works on irl missiles to return home?).
I remember FMA!2003 being lauded for its mature themes, but what themes are we talking about?
The long monologues some characters deliver to explain their vision of the world, and are never challenged about it? (or it's Ed calling BS to Dante's argument that equivalent exchange sucks)
What it means to be a human? Sure, at the end before dying, Ed seems to realise 2003!Wrath has to be taken care of (like not killing him but providing him real care) because he earlier noticed that he cried real tears with 2003!Sloth died so it's a progression from his "he's a homonculi he needs to die"... and yet, he already had this realisation when he talked to Wrath after another round of "give me back my arm'n'leg" on the top of a roof in Dublith!
It's kind of hard to say whether FMA!2003 is a good anime or not with all the things I've read/watched in the last 20ish years - because Arakawa ended her manga which is imo the best out of the three "tellings" of her story - and while I still love the "Brother" songs to death, part of me is just, very disappointed after revisiting this anime that I used to love.
Like, man, I didn't remember Ed to the POS he is in this anime, aka a character without any growth (he legits insults Armstrong over Ishval in iirc episode 7, only to apologise at the end of the episode because he acted like an ass, to give a "they must have had fun using those weapons in Ishval" at him again in the last episodes...) and Alfonse targetting Wrath to "recover" Ed's limbs - before his "awakening" as a homonculi - will always leave me with a weird feeling.
The OST is good and the animation not that shabby for something over 20 years old, and maybe the younger!me already perceived something was wrong/unlikable with Ed'n'Al, that's why I was looking at fics centered on Mustang's group -
But is it an anime I'd recommand now? Or even call a good anime?
No, not anymore. I'm hopefully not in middle school anymore fwiw and to its credit, in 2003 there wasn't a lot of new stuff or even fantasy anime that was released, and FMA!2003 was something really important and interesting at that time.
If it were to be released today? I'd say it'd maybe warrant a netflix exclusive release.

Any headcanons about the 4 lords childhoods?
Yes <3
Headcanons about Donna Beneviento, Salvatore Moreau, Karl Heisenberg, and Alcina Dimitrescu's childhoods.
Warnings: mention of injury.
Masterlists here!
Donna Beneviento
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She was the type of kid that sat outside and made daisy chains. She was also the type of kid that sat outside after it rained and played with the worms.
Before Angie was made, Donna verbally communicated by making little noises. Whines, sighs, etc. She preferred to gesture or nod/shake her head, though.
She started using Angie to talk a few months into having her around. She'd say two or three words at a time, and only after being directly addressed by her parents, sister, or the gardener.
The scar she had on the right side of her face? It was from attempting to grab a full glass on a counter much taller than her, accidentally knocking it to the floor and breaking it, then slipping and cutting her face open. She actually got a few other scars during the incident. They're on the palms of her hands and forearms. They were also far less severe than the one on her face.
Although she was close to both of her parents, Donna was definitely a bit more of a daddy's girl.
And as for the gardener, Donna considered him family. He was the only parental figure she had in her life after her parents died.
Claudia, Donna's older sister, died from influenza, which she caught from Donna. Claudia was practically Donna's best friend. ...Aside from Angie, of course.
Donna couldn't go to sleep without a bedtime story.
Salvatore Moreau
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Sal was six, his family got a beagle. Her name was Dash and she lived until Sal turned nineteen. You'd see him with that dog more often than you didn't.
He had a brother and two sisters. They were all older than him.
When Salvatore was four, his brother taught him how to fish. It quickly became one of Sal's favorite things to do.
He also rather enjoyed spending his time playing marbles and jackstraws, drawing in the dirt with sticks, and collecting cool rocks.
Salvatore was a complete and utter mama's boy.
He didn't get on too well with his father, but he wanted a closer relationship with him. So bad. That never happened.
He used to go by the nickname Salvo.
He would suck on his middle and ring fingers, which ended up giving him an open bite.
Karl Heisenberg
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Karl lived with his grandparents, parents, and three brothers.
He was a bit of a crybaby up until his teen years.
Also, a massive chatterbox. More so around adults or older kids than people his age.
That dog tag he wears around his neck? Karl's grandfather gave it to him when his health started deteriorating. Karl was about nine when he died. He's worn it almost every day since.
Any German he knows he learned from his grandparents, who natively spoke it and knew minimal English.
Karl kept his hair fairly long. Usually about midway down his shoulder blades.
He and his family came to live in the village when he turned right.
Alcina Dimitrescu
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alcina has had an interest in music for as long as she can remember. She started taking piano lessons when she was three, was always listening to the radio, records, or one of her aunt's wax cylinders; kept songs she wrote in her diary, begging to go to live performances...
And speaking of her aunt, she lived nearby and Alcina was closer to her than either of her parents.
She had two younger brothers. She didn't have much of a relationship with either of them. She practically resented the older one.
She was someone who snuck around a lot and hid a lot of things, which wasn't too difficult since her parents were always more focused on her brothers.
And when she was particularly young, she was a fighter and a biter. You said something Alcina didn't like? Guess who's getting shoved! Or bitten. Her parents—or rather, her nannies quickly put a stop to all that.
She was a chubby kid.
She had one close friend growing up. Her name was Florence, and they ended up dating in secret when they were teenagers.

15 people, 15 questions
Tagged by @my-rose-tinted-glasses, @infinitelyprecious and @he-is-lightning-in-a-bottle! Thank you friends 💕
1. are you named after anyone?
Nope! My folks just liked the name they chose for me. They did the thing where they tried to choose a name that they thought would be unique and ended up with one of the most common names in the year, for both me and my brother.
2. when was the last time you cried?
Watching the What Did You Eat Yesterday S2 finale.
3. do you have kids?
Nope! Never wanted any, so I'm happy with the status quo.
4. what sports do you play/have you played?
HA. Here we go. In elementary school I was on a neighbourhood softball team and was terrible; in the end of year tournament, we were two outs and I was at bat and struck out for us to lose, which soured me on this game permanently. I also took neighbourhood tennis lessons and sucked at that too though I really did try. In middle school I was on the basketball team because I was tall and the coach was convinced I could learn hand/eye coordination....she was wrong. I am a decent defense player because height lets me block but I cannot land a foul shot to save my life (or my team's). For fun during lunch l I played [American] football with other enthusiasts. We would play tackle in all weather and on pavement, and we had a great time (I wasn't good but I enjoyed it). By high school I had finally convinced everyone around me I have no hand/eye coordination or physical skill and stopped all sports activities. PHEW. These days I do no sports though I will go to my company slo-pitch games and heckle like heckling's a sport.
5. do you use sarcasm?
Absolutely, but I try not to use it in that mean way in which people try to make someone feel bad about themselves.
6. what’s the first thing you notice about people?
Body language, how they hold themselves and move.
7. what’s your eye color?
Close to slate grey/blue.
8. scary movies or happy endings?
I don't respect this false dichotomy.
Tumblr media
9. any talents?
My superpower is the ability to sing along to any song whether or not I've heard it before, and whether or not I know the language. Other than that, I'm pretty good at understanding what people are trying to say and not just what they actually said, which comes in handy in show analysis as well as interpersonal communication and work. And I am good at modifying/adapting recipes to use what I've got/what I like on the fly. Those are my core talents!
10. where were you born?
Toronto, Canada
11. what are your hobbies?
Other than watching All The BL/GL/QL? I am crafty, I like playing with mixed media stuff, lap weaving, and bookmaking/bookbinding. I haven't had the energy for it the last few years, and that's been mildly devastating. But I made holiday cards for the first time in years this year, which was very fun! I also have been known to puzzle, and I garden when I can. And I hike on occasion!
12. do you have any pets?
Nope! I'm allergic to most pets (fur and feathers; I tried keeping fish but was allergic to the algae on the tank, so I gave up). The dog in my avatar is my parents' rescue dog they got after I left home, and I see her when I visit them! She's a "hypoallergenic" breed mix but that's actually meaningless and I'm still allergic lol
13. how tall are you?
180cm; and the kicker is I've been this tall since elementary school so I went from being the tallest person in the room by a LOT to half the boys in the room shooting up to my height or higher, which was a weird experience!
14. favorite subject in school?
Tie between English, Biology, and Chemistry. I loved science and words and analysis in both subjects. I ran the bio and chem clubs in high school!
15. dream job?
University textbook editor, which I did for ~7 years! And it was everything I wanted it to be, but I eventually outgrew it. I love what I do now too (essentially I'm in management), and I know I'm lucky that I've had jobs I love for most of my working life.
I won't tag anyone because I've been absent for days, but if you see this, this is permission to do this tag game, and tag me so I see your post 💕

My self-pitying post
I do not know how to better name this post, but this seems most accurate. Because I understand that I made a wrong turn somewhere, and it led me here. My life isn't in shambles, but I feel like it is. So here's my sob story: I am not the victim, but someone who could've done better and can do better and just needs to let this out into the world somewhere. It may make someone feel better about themselves. Someone may relate. Someone may make fun of me. It is what it is. To summarise, I'm giving myself an ultimatum before I give up living: only go through with it if I cannot improve my life until my 21st birthday in August.
Just a heads up, thia is rambly and some parts dont relate to the main issue. I just let the words flow.
I was a bright child. I loved math and computers. I still do, in theory. My family immigrated to the UK when I was 9/10. I didn't speak any of the language. So, as it was expected, I didn't learn anything in my first year of school. The tutor the school gave me to learn English didn't help me at all and would get angry and yell at me when I didn't understand a word she was telling me- she showed no pictures and did not speak my native language, so I had no idea what word she wanted me to understand. The kids were no better. I did not understand it then, but they only spoke to me to bully or make fun of me. I don't know whether it was a blessing or a curse that I did not realise then. But I did understand when, on separate occasions, different boys tried to assault me when I went to the classroom to get something during breaks or at the park outside of school. And how the girls who bullied me would block my exit.
I had to fight past them to leave. Only one or two students at the school were genuinely kind- ironic for a Christian school. As such, in my perpetual loneliness, I spent the lessons drawing and my breaks reading in my native tongue. The only lessons that brought me joy were maths. I was ahead of the class due to my interest and my mother's tutoring at home. By the time they reached fractions, I had been memorising the Pythagoras theorem. Since math was going well, no one cared that I was failing Spanish (and in secondary, I was made to learn French, so that was a slight loss).
In secondary, I was in the top set for maths and the bottom set for everything else- but only for a short time. I had begun consuming English books, and my mum made me read them aloud to memorise the words. I remember one instance clearly when I had two copies of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in front of me- one in Polish and one in English- and I was going through them page by page to grasp the context. It's not the best learning method, but it's a core memory for me. In year eight, I moved up to second set; by year 9, I was top set in everything. I also made some real friends. I had 4 I could call my closest and many others that weren't as close, but I still enjoyed their company. Little did I know that only one would stick by my side all these years. Two dropped me in year 9 with no explanation, and one just stopped texting back after sixth form. I joined clubs, became a prefect, and had two job experiences by year 11. It was going great. For my GCSEs, I convinced my head of year to let me take computer science instead of French since the school wanted everyone to take a language. I also wanted to do Drama, but the choice was between Art and Drama, and my mum decided art would be more beneficial. Considering that the subject made me hate drawing for years, while my love for the performing arts persisted, I would disagree, and my mum eventually conceded that she should've let me study it after I kept buying tickets out of my allowance to watch plays on the West End.
I passed my GCSEs with flying colours. And my first A-level that year- Polish, having done the GCSE for it a year prior.
At A-levels, it all went downhill. I barely passed maths. I would blame COVID, but I would game through the online classes, so I am more to blame than a virus. I did alright in Physics and well in computer science and psychology. But that's when my tearful phone calls started after my exams. My mum would stress out after each call as I began going frantic and anxious over every exam answer. My best friend stuck with me through countless nervous breakdowns and anxiety attacks. I love her more than anything and hope I can pay her back for all she did and endured because of my frail emotional state. She was the only one who knew I was having thoughts of ending it all, the first to know I was bisexual and that I wanted to leave the church. I think she was the only thing keeping me alive, my closest confidant, my sister from another womb.
University started on a high note. We were still in quarantine, so there were only a few opportunities to make friends. I paid little attention to all the content of the lectures as I had covered it in A-Level. I did really well in the first year. It's too bad that it doesn't contribute to my grade. In my personal life, I was working out and building soft skills to help me develop myself.
Year two rolled in with languish or undiagnosed depression. I do not know; I can't afford a diagnosis and would have to wait years to get one through the NHS. I did some volunteering but stopped after an older man stalked me and kept harassing me while I was helping out at a science fair for children. Another volunteer noticed and helped me out, but after reporting the man to the venue, we found out he had done this before to other women and to forgive him because he is autistic. Which was no excuse, but I was too shaken to fight. That year, I failed one module and only passed another by a percentage, still calling my mum in tears after each exam. I stopped showering regularly. And barely brushed my teeth.
Now, here we are. Semester 1 of my third year came and went. I attended a few meetings for the societies I'm in. One module failed utterly, and waiting for the results of the other two (but I'm not hopeful). I am behind on my dissertation work (which is meant to include a technical aspect), barely taking care of myself, six hours away from my only friend, with no romance in sight and wanting to just disappear from the world. I still love computer science and math in theory but can't bring myself to study them. I can't drop out as I won't be able to afford to return to my studies. I hoping to scrape a 2:1 for my final grade, but that will require near-perfect grades this semester.
I do not know how to proceed. I won't drop out, but it all seems impossible. I don't know if I will end it all. I might, I might not. I will wait 6 months, though, until my 21st birthday. Maybe I'll figure something out. Perhaps I will be able to do the integrated masters my course includes. Maybe I will barely pass and have to get experience to do the master's and the PhD I so desire. I will let you know what will happen when the 19th of August rolls around. I will try to exist to the best of my ability.
After all, the last time I gave myself six months was when I was 15. And I'm still here.

Hi could you do something about desire where the reader stayed a sleep while morpheus was imprisoned then desire invaded the readers dream and they fell in love similar to what happened to unity in the show I’m curious to how life with desire really was while she slept
Desire is not my favorite character of the endless (But well...Let's give him a chance for once.) And first, English is not my first language, I hope you don't mind. And second, I'm a wh*re for fluff/angst.
Words: 753
Warnings: Drama/ Fluffy/angst
Characters: Desire x F!Reader
Tumblr media
1.
Dearest desire
I knew you were there, in the shadows, with eyes tawny and sharp as yellow wine, watching me silently, while I washed away the dirty on my favorite dress.
I was twelve years old when the sickness hit me one night… You know how it goes, right?
A lonely little girl, living in a dreaming world she learned to call home.
2.
I was nineteen when you give me my first kiss.
There was no love in your eyes, or warm in your touch,
but I was in heaven anyway.
I still remember the thing you said to me after, when your hand caressed my right cheek and my body felt like Jell-O:
"Dear mine, what a sight for sore eyes."
If I wasn't the foolish woman
That I am… I would have asked you why.
Maybe, you would have answered me then.
3.
I was twenty-one when I missed my real parents.
Sadly, I haven't been able to tell the difference between the fake ones in the dreaming world.
And that night, I begged you to hug me for a little while.
Dearest Desire,
Your bright yellow eyes finally… were kind for once.
And I understood at that moment why you have a sin for a name, when your skin met my skin and ours lips searched for one another.
Love was what we did.
I refuse to believe otherwise.
4.
I was twenty-five when the house that my parents gifted me
felt too damn big for me alone.
I asked you to live with me.
But Desire belongs to no one, I should have known better.
"Don't make that face, butterfly." you pouted before kissing me.
Not even two days later, you accepted my request.
I still don't believe you really did that, not even now.
5.
I had all of you to myself for five more years.
Day and night.
From breakfast to dinner
again,
again,
and again.
But all this time, you,
my dearest desire
stayed the same.
The one getting old was me.
I was a foolish woman, remember?
I Should have dreamed of me being immortal, too.
6.
When I was thirty years old
and the new things were no longer new things
sex became a routine.
The house bored you to death,
and my kisses did too.
That was when you have the idea of having a kid.
So I said, "No more than two."
7.
When I was Forty-seven,
and our daughter, seventeen
you, my dearest Desire
still young and beautiful,
confessed to me for the first time
how much you love, and cherished the things we did
together in all these years.
"Why are you telling me…"
"Shh… It's a secret between you and me, butterfly."
It felt like a farewell.
Hell, It has one, at least for a while.
8.
I was fifty-nine when you came back.
All my angry yells,
throwing out plates and fury, passed too quickly
for my own good.
Perhaps it was because the house felt too empty
without our daughter here.
Perhaps I missed you a ton.
I don't know, dear...
I'm not the same as I was before.
You kissed me then, softly,
and I felt in heaven.
Exactly the same way years ago, when I was nineteen,
and you kissed me for the first time.
"It's not fair" I said looking at you.
"Desire never is, butterfly."
And dammit, I missed that childish nickname.
9.
We made love one last time.
You embraced me like I was your whole world.
I was old and wrinkled, but you didn't seem to care.
My dearest Desire,
people may say it wasn't love,
that It was a funny experiment…me and our daughter.
Doesn't matter.
I will love her for the two of us, if necessary.
"Goodnight." I murmur on your ear at last.
"Night, butterfly." You kiss my front head, and close your eyes.
10.
I'm sixty-five years old when the dream is over.
And you, my dearest Desire,
is not here to take my hand on the awake world.
Strangely enough, I have a real daughter,
and grandsons to love.
But sometimes, when I'm alone
and I hear nothing but silence,
I feel eyes tawny and sharp as yellow wine
on my back…
Longing the same way I do.
However, when I turn around, there's just shadows and walls instead.
"Where I touch, things want and need and love…" Desire said to me a long time ago.
And maybe, them felt the same with my touch too.

Throughout the phases
I’m sure if you’ve been on my account or scrolling through the oddly dead Murdoc tag on here you’ve seen my OC Marilyn so I’ve decided to explain a bit here and explain through the phases!
Marilyn was an accident to be blunt. She was a mishap between Murdoc and a prostitute in Mexico, born some time around 2002. Her mother didn’t have the funds nor the time or patience to take care of her so she decided leaving her with her biological father was a good idea so she flew all the way to the UK and left the 3 year old there in 2005 forcing him to take responsibility and take care of the thing. He was extremely opposed to this and heavily entertained the idea of putting her up for adoption but ended up siding against it last minute due to the similarities between his childhood and how he came to live with his father. He decided he wanted to be better than that man and kept her ever since.
Phase 2: When she first came to live with the group she was a introverted but polite child. She didn’t talk much and would often motion for something she wanted rather than asking. This was mostly due to the fact that she had a limited vocabulary since her mother was Hispanic and spoke a mixed verity of Spanish and English to her and she didn’t know what one to use. Thankfully Murdoc knew Spanish so he could understand and talk to her but quickly they taught her English. She opened up a bit during this time and became very comfortable around her family and never wanted to be away from them. She took a strong liking to 2D as if he were her uncle and this made Murdoc extremely jealous. She also liked Noodle a lot since she was around her age a bit more and loved Russel. She talked a lot more during this time and became very clingy and wanted to be held and carried a lot by others for comfort. This was a bit annoying on the surface to her father but deep down he found it endearing. She often had to go to sets where they were recording videos for and was in the crowd of kids for Dirty Harry and refused to go on the set for Feel Good Inc because the laugh scared her. She also was the inspiration for the title of the song El Mañana.
Phase 3: After the fiasco of El Mañana and the group splitting up, Murdoc took his daughter and set off, the two finding plastic beach and staying there. Murdoc admittedly left the 5 year old alone with Cyborg Noodle who, surprisingly, turned out to be a great babysitter, but Marilyn was still scared of her since she was afraid of robots and she wasn’t the “Real Noodle”. Murdoc returned with 2D and forced the man alone down in the basement as a sort of torture since he was afraid of whales. Marilyn adventured down there one day while Murdoc was pre-occupied and was overjoyed to see her uncle again, secretly keeping the man company any chance she got. She eventually warmed up to Cyborg Noodle but still was afraid of her and wanted her real aunt back. She was in the car during Stylo in the backseat with Cyborg and helped her dad write Melancholy Hill late one night by sleepily wandering around the room and shouting out rhymes to words he would read aloud to himself. She was overjoyed to learn Noodle was alive and was the first to hug the woman when she arrived on the island with Russel, thankful her odd little family was alive and together again and they were able to return home. However While Murdoc was in prison yet again, her mother had to come and take care of her. Her mother wasn’t the best and after staying with her for 2 years she couldn’t take it anymore and the minute she heard her dad had parole and moved in with Albarn she got in contact with him and begged him to let her stay with her father or literally anyone else. Unable to say no to such a desperate offer she went back to saying with her dad who she claimed was “Like a new person. In a good way I think.”
Phase 4: Not much happened during this time except for the haunted house which quite literally disgusted and freaked the young teen out so bad she opted to just sleep in the car despite her father’s protests. When the group returned to the car the next morning Noodle claimed Marilyn was the only one with common sense in the whole group. Marilyn said it was only because of the horror movies she and 2D watched back on Plastic Beach. During this time one of 2D’s kids asks to meet up with their dad and connect with him. 2D agrees and meets his daughter Sonia. The others are worried about the two meeting up since Murdoc and 2D had such a bad past but Marilyn and Sonia instant take to each other extremely well and become close friends, almost like family and stay in contact throughout the phases.
Phase 5: now 15, Marilyn was very moody during this time. This was around what felt like the 100th time her dad had gotten arrested and she felt upset that he had been “replaced” by Ace. She didn’t talk much to the green man or anyone for that matter and opted to just stay in her room for majority of this time. Others claimed she was a like a “more polite version of her dad” during this time. The only time to group got her to crawl out of her sad little hole was for Humility where 2D taught her how to roller skate. She eventually warmed up to Ace and considered him a friend but she still missed her dad and felt a bit betrayed and lost by the situation. Russel knew she was dealing with her own mental issues at the time and attempted to help comfort her, but it didn’t do much to help. She still appreciated it though. She begged Noodle to let her go with her to get her dad but Noodle refused because it was too dangerous and Russel had to keep her in his sight at almost all times because she tried to set off on her own twice, being as stubborn as Murdoc himself.
Phase 7: Now 18, During the time that Murdoc was rambling on about the occult, Marilyn generally thought he had lost his mind. Or was drunk. While living with her mother during her father’s arrest back in phase 4, Marilyn had taken up Christianity and refused to sway for a cult. Murdoc secretly hated the fact that her religion was literally what his hated, but never forced her or told her to stop believing in it. He felt disappointed she wouldn’t join, claiming “all cults lead to trouble in the end”, but didn’t fight her on it since everyone else was joining anyway. Murdoc wasn’t the only one who found love during this time however. Whereas Murdoc was simping for Moonflower, Marilyn met a girl who lived across the road from them who she later found out was named April. The two became friends and often while her father and family was doing cult stuff, Marilyn would go over to April’s house and hang out with her, trying to fight the fact that she was in love with this girl. Later during the Silent Running video she was with the group fighting off the others but she didn’t know how to fight, so she picked up a broken off pipe from the group and opted to beating them to death with the weapon instead. Oddly enough this worked remarkably well. Murdoc later claimed that it was most likely due to the fact that she had a lot of pent up emotions she was venting out with each swing. Or it was the softball she took as a child. Later in the Cracker Island video she was an emotional wreck for lack of a better term since Russel was out of it, Murdoc was nowhere to be seen, 2D was higher than a kite, and Noodle was constantly trying to call people to help. She didn’t cry or anything, but she sat handcuffed to a chair with a “Distraught and confused look on her face” as claim by 2D. She looked absolutely disgusted when her dad kissed and went on a date with the woman who attempted to sacrifice her uncle and didn’t talk to him for a day or two after that. Before the group left the area however, with the help of Noodle, she asked April out. She nervously dodges the questions if asked if they’re dating or not, seeming embarrassed by the situation.
GOD THAT WAS A LOTTA WRITING my lord if y’all read through that I’m glad I caught your interest! I have posts of her and art of her in my account when she’s in phase 7!! I am planning on drawing the other phases soon! I left out phase six because it wasn’t very important in the grand scheme of things lol. Let me know your opinion!! Thanks! -Izzy

Familia (Alexia Putellas x Reader)
I hope this lives up to the fluff and Family Fic that was requested. Let me know if there's anything else anyone wants to see :)
Moving to Barcelona was the best thing you ever did. When the opportunity in your company came up to move to the Spanish city you jumped at the opportunity. Not only would you get to travel, you would be able to go to the beach whenever you wanted. You worked as a graphic designer for an international firm and they wanted you to help start up a European office. With many clients already based in Spain it made sense to open the head quarters here.
One of your biggest clients approached you and asked if you would be willing to volunteer some time on Saturdays to help run kids camps in the city. Your client knew you had worked before as a camp councillor and knew that having an english speaking leader would help with the kids who were trying to learn English as well.
You knew you needed to keep this client happy, and you didn’t really know anyone in the city yet so you figured why not. You figured it would be beneficial to you as you would be able to practice your Spanish on the children as well.
The camps were held at a local school, they ran during Saturday afternoons, and most parents dropped their kids off for a few hours of peace and then wold come back and pick them up. There was various sports and activities for the kids to participate in, naturally being a designer you were assigned to help out with the art stations.
It was during your first Saturday where you met Isabella Putellas.
You had six children sitting with you around the art table “Hola! I am Y/N and I will be helping you to draw a picture of the flowers on the table. Lets go around and have everyone say their names”
You went around the table and most of the kids were loud and spoke very broken English, you gathered that they were all between the ages of 4 and 5 and they seemed to know each other from school or previous camps.
“I’m Isabella, but my mama calls me Bella.” Isabella spoke up in perfect English and you were surprised she was so fluent.
One of the boys in the group spoke up and said “She cant call you that! that’s not a name that a word”
Isabella turned bright red but refused to speak up. You chimed in at this point “okay no need for that, lets start with our drawings”
It lasted for 20 minutes when you lost your group to the rowdy and exciting soccer game starting behind you. It was just you and Isabella left at the art table and you asked her “Do you want to go play soccer with them”
Isabella finally looked up and spoke to you, she hadn’t said a single word for the last 20 minutes, and said “I play enough soccer with my mama and my aunts, I don’t want to leave you here by your self”
You couldn’t get over how thoughtful she was, “okay, well lets draw something else. What’s your favourite animal?” you asked her.
“a Lion like my aunt Mapi!” she responded to you.
“okay well lets draw some Lions then” you told her.
Over the rest of the time at camp you sat there and helped Isabella draw picture after picture all well learning all about her favourite aunts, colours, foods, and activities. You couldn’t help but find her adorable and wanted to keep hanging with her but your time was up. You helped with checkout of the kids, and met Isabellas grandma who picked her up as her mom was out of town.
***
Over the next month you spent every Saturday with Isabella, you both would sit at the art table and draw anything that she wanted to draw. You knew she was your favourite and probably should spend time with the other kids but you couldn’t help it.
“Mama!!” Isabella shouted when it was nearing the end of the session and she jumped up and ran towards her. It was at this point you looked up and met the eyes with the most gorgeous women you had ever seen.
She broke eye contact with you and crouched down and picked up Isabella and swung her around in a big hug “Bella! Ive missed you” she told her daughter.
She put her down and grabbed her daughters hand and walked right up to you and stuck her hand out for a hand shake “hola soy Alexia, Bella es mi hija.
It took you a minute to respond as you were slightly lost in her beauty, but you responded with a hand shake and “Nice to meet you, Im Y/N”
“Bella will not stop talking about you, it is nice to finally put a face to the name” Alexia responded. It took Alexia a minute to reconcile that the women your daughter has been talking non stop about was gorgeous and she knew she could easily get lost in your blue eyes.
“Well its nice to finally meet Isabella’s mother, you have done an amazing job with her, I am sure you and her father are very proud” you respond
At this Alexia bursts out laughing, you cant help but feel confused until she says “Im sorry its not you, I just cant remember the last time anyone thought I was straight. I am Bella’s only mother, I decided to have her on my own and its the best thing I ever did for myself.”
Isabella had enough at his point and pulled Alexia’s arm saying “Mama, can we go now? I want to go see Nala”
“si mi amor vámonos a casa” Alexia repsonds then looks over to you and says “it was nice to meet you but I am going to get this one home now. See you next week!”
“See you next week Isabella” you say as they leave, and you cant help but to want to keep talking to those girls, and you just knew they were going to be trouble.
***
It was later the next week, you had snuck out of the office to go and get lunch and a coffee. You were in line at the coffee shop downtown when you hear your name from behind you. You turn around and come face to face with Alexia.
“Y/N, funny running into you here. I feel like I see you all the time with how much Bella talks about you, she is smitten” she says to you.
At this you cant help but blush and respond “Well I am smitten with her too, you have done a wonderful job with her”
At this she also turns red, but the barista calls you up to place your order. You place your order and turn to ALexia and ask “Can I buy you a cup of coffee?”
She places her order with the barista and the two of you wonder over to a table nearby.
“So, I feel like I know you but only in the sense that my daughter tells me.” she says to start the conversation.
“Well, What would you like to know? I am an open book.” You tell her.
At this point our coffees get placed on the table and she asks “Well I know you can draw very well but I do not know what you do for work?”
“I am a graphic designer, I do a lot of work for local companies with logos and advertisement campaigns” you tell her. “What do you do? you must work on weekends as I haven’t seen you before this last session?”
At this she gives you a funny look and says “Wow, you really aren’t from around here then? I am a professional footballer, I play for the Barcelona women’s team. Bella doesn’t travel to away games with me so we have her in your camp to give my mom a break during those weekends”
You are not surprised that someone like her is a professional athlete as she clearly works out and you have definitely noticed. “Wow, that is awesome! I honestly haven’t had a chance to look into the local sports scene too much.”
“We play at home this Sunday, I will set you up with tickets so you can come watch the game. Bella will hang out with my mom, but she will absolutely love it if you were to sit with her.”
You cant help but smile at the mention of Bella “I would love that, and will be there.”
“Perfect, cause to be honest I think I am becoming as smitten with you as my daughter is” she says.
You blush at this, but cant help but feel the natural pull to her “Let me take you both to dinner after the game then?”
“Yes. We would both love that” she says.
You spend the next half hour getting to know each other, you haven’t felt this way before but you know that you will be spending as much time as you can with the Spanish beauty as you can. You both get up to leave and head your seperate directions. You decide to go for it and pull her in for a hug, she smells and feels as amazing as you were expecting her to.
As you pull back she hesitates and leaves a kiss on the corner of your mouth. You blush but also know she is into you as more than a friendship. “Ill see you on Sunday!” you say as she walks away, you cant take your eyes off her as she’s is walking away down the street.
****
You show up to the stadium on Sunday and go to collect the ticket she had set aside for you. You see multiple posters with her face and cant help but to think of yesterday, how when she came to pick up Bella you both locked eyes from afar and couldn’t tear your eyes apart. You were helping back up some gear so you never got to speak to her but the wave and wink you received from her and the shout goodbye from Isabella were enough knowing you’d see them both today.
Finding your seat wasn’t too hard and when you walked up and saw Isabella in the cutest Jersey with Alexia’s name and number. After saying hello to both Isabella and Alexia’s mom, Isabella starts explaining to you all about her favourite aunts on the field.
The amount of aunts she always talks about now makes sense. “That’s Aunt Mapi, she is the lion I always want to draw! Aunt Mapi!” she yells. You see the player who must be Mapi look over from her warm up and wave to Isabella, she then turns to Alexia who is standing near by and smirks.
“Hey, ALexia, who’s the hottie with my favourite niece?” she teases Alexia.
At this Alexia cant help but look over, she notices you crouching with her daughter and her heart swells. She can tell you are trying to keep up with Bella naming and pointing out all her aunts but the sight is too cute she cant look away. She knows that at that moment she is in this and wants to see that sight much more.

Barcelona ends up wining 4-0, with 2 goals from Alexia. You are hanging around the railing with Isabella, waiting for the players to make their way over. Mapi is the first over and she reaches over and grabs Isabella and starts chasing her on the field. Listening to the giggles of the 4 year old warms your heart. ALexia comes over and cant help but admire then way you are watching her daughter. “Y/N, I am so glad you were able to come to the game.” she tries to get your attention.
You look over and smile at her, “Well I hear you normally score goals during games so I am glad I got to see you score 2. You were amazing out there”
“Well you’ll have to come see how great I look when I score 3 goals next game” she flirts right back.
“Maybe I was a good luck charm, and I should keep coming back then” you say.
“Mama! You did so good today! You scored me 2 goals!” Isabella comes running over and leaps into Alexia’s arms.
“I did that just for you mi amor” Alexia responds and keeps Isabella on her hip. The both turn to you and Alexia says “So Y/N still up for taking me and this monkey out for dinner”
The matching smiles and eyes on these two are going to be death of you, but you are sucked in and know you will never be able to say no “Of course, I would be honoured to take the two most beautiful women here out for dinner”
Alexia blushes, but puts Isabella down and says “Let me go shower and change I will meet you guys outside”
****
After saying goodbye to Alexia’s mom, you and Isabella are wining outside where Alexia will come out to meet you. Isabella is dancing and trying to recreate her Mama’s goals for you. She jumps up into your arms and you spin her around like the celebrations that the team did today, when you notice Alexia watching you guys.
“Alexia! are you ready to go, we are starving here waiting for you” you tease her.
“Ya mama! I am a growing girl and I hungry!” Isabella joins you in the teasing.
Alexia Laughs and starts to tickle Isabella in your arms, as she’s giggling from the tickle attack you notice how close Alexia is to you. She smells amazing and her body pressed against yours feels amazing.
Alexia must notice, she looks up at you and smirks, then starts tickling you too. “Stop! I am too ticklish for this” you say as you step away with Isabella still in your arms.
She puts her hands up and says “Okay, Im done, let's go eat!”
She offers to drive as you took a cab to the stadium. You both get into her car with Isabella in the back seat singing along to a Disney CD on the ride. You feel like your life is so complete with these two now in it.
***
After dinner, where you all had a great time, with you and Alexia flirting any chance you got. Isabella falls asleep on the drive, and you tell Alexia to just go to her house and you can get an uber from there home. You didn’t want that little girl to be out of her bed any longer than need be.
When you get there, Alexia asks if you will wait so she can put Isabella to bed. You agree and help her get her out of the car. Once Isabella is in Alexia’s arms you follow them into the house. Just as they are about to go upstairs you here Isabella whisper your name.
You come over to her and she says “Goodnight Y/N, I wanna play with you forever”
You blush, but feel that deep in your heart and you know you will do anything to keep that little girl happy. You look into Alexia’s eyes and can tell she was touched by it to but you say back to Isabella “Goodnight my sweet girl, sleep tight”
***
When Alexia comes back down she grabs your hand and pulls you out onto the back deck. You both sit down close on the couch and she says “Y/N, I like you, and clearly my daughter does to, but I want to see where this can go”
You look into her eyes and see nothing but care and affection. You pace your hand on her cheek and say “Me too, I really like you and your daughter too. I would like to take you out again, both with and without Isabella”
She covers your hand with her own and leans in and kisses you. You shift to hold her better and deepen the kiss. When the need for air becomes too much you break apart and lean your forehead on hers and say “Wow, did you feel that too?”
“the fireworks? yes I did” she responds with.
You smile at her and know that this is forever.
