Tbh it’s kinda stereotypical that a lot of people view Tim as gay and Kon as bi when canon evidence suggests it’s the other way around

Tim has had several relationships with girls that show a lot of love and care even if they don’t work out. But all of Kon’s relationships with girls have been performative in some way (or were like one date with a lesbian)

But since Kon has the super strength people view him as more masculine so they make him bi, and Tim is more academic and has a lithe frame and is often made gay in fics and is given a more feminine role. Tim being a mistreated damsel and Kon being his savior is very common. It’s literally them being assigned top/bottom aka masculine/feminine, it’s just heteronormativity in a different font

YEAAAAAAH ANON GO OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its literally so true ive bitched about this exact thing to my friends before. it's both the homophobia implicit in the idea that a more "traditionally masculine" man (esp one who's not twink-shaped) must be available for m/f ships and cannot possibly be gay, plus the biphobia of the notion that bisexuality is this "half gay, half straight" midpoint default setting for any character who doesn't fit the ~gay archetypes~ or whatever.

like to be clear i have absolutely nothing against bi kon hcs. but i REALLY find the narrative of gay kon compelling (for the same reasons you state!! he has never had a real relationship with a woman) and yet. the one time i made a post about this, SO many people in the notes were like yeah bi kon is good too though. oh yeah you can have this narrative but i like him bi. as if that's a) the default setting and b) the ONLY option, because gay narratives and bi narratives have no distinctions. it was... pretty grating to be honest. it's a shitty way to treat both bisexuality And gayness.

also reminds me of the time someone left hate mail on my fic bc i described kon wearing heels and fishnets lkdjalksjdl like i laugh at it but it was. definitely someone who couldnt handle him being written as an actual queer man lmao. he HAS to be the manly man in the timkon relationship. or whatever.

ANYWAY all this to say, i fully agree with you!!! it's so pervasive and so annoying. also compounded w the number of people in the timkon tags who simply have never touched a kon comic tbh (goes back to bisexuality as being treated as a default not worthy of actual thought or consideration). alas :/

AIGHT SO- These r my Headcanons for the Buccigang and their gender identities/sexualities. In no way do I believe everyone should agree with these or anything. These r just my opinions and everyone has their own Headcanons!

Bruno: MLM/Gay, He/Him

Abbacchio: Gay, Demiandrogyne, He/Him

Mista: Bisexual, He/Him

Narancia: Pansexual, Nonbinary, Demiboy, He/They

Fugo: MLM/Polyromantic (Males & Masc Nonbinary), Demisexual, He/Him

Giorno: MLM/Gay, Transgender (ftm), Androgyny, Neopronouns, He/Him/Luck/Lucky's

Trish: Lesbian/Sapphic, She/Her

REASONING;

Bruno: I mean, I dunno, man just gives me gay man vibes. But gay as in he's attracted to any male identifying individuals or male-aligned individuals (so y'know like a non-binary person that partially identifies as a male) I just don't see him having a relationship with a woman unless it's platonic/a friendship. He's definitely the type of gay to make women fall head over heels for him (obviously not on purpose) then the women become severely disappointed when they find out he's gay- He's the gay that has to deal with those awkward interactions-

Abba: Kinda the same for Abba. He just doesn't rub me as the type to like women or other genders- He's a simple man. A simple man that loves men- But he's also demi-androgynous. Since I feel like you could confuse him for a woman for obvious reasons- And in general I feel like he could partially relate/feel connected to women, however, he doesn't actually identity as a woman.

Mista: I mean- I don't think I gotta explain this one. This vibes r all there- Despite his croptop he thinks they make him look hot not feminine so he doesn't relate or feel connected to identifying as any other gender-

Nara: IT'S THE VIBES BRO- First off, man's color pallet is literally the non-binary flag- Second- Bc of the fact his gender is a bit all over the place he definitely feels attracted to ppl regardless of their gender, therefore, man's Pan. I'd also say he's a Demiboy, he doesn't always feel fully connected to being a guy nor does he always relate to it. Hence why he might appear feminine at times. But I don't think he'd identify as a female. Tbh idk why he gives me the vibes that he'd get mad if ppl assume he's a girl. He doesn't mind wearing feminine clothes but just like Abba, I feel he wouldn't like identifying as one. He'd rather identify without a gender or his assigned gender.

Fugo: MLM so y'know like Bruno a male that is attracted to other males or male-aligned individuals. For that same reason I think he'd also identify as Polyromantic meaning he's specifically romantically attracted to males or non-binary (specifically masc non-binary) ppl but not women or ppl who even partially identify as women. I also believe he'd be demisexual in terms and will only have a sexual relationship with his partner if he's been in a deep and serious relationship with them for years otherwise don't expect any sort of sexual relation from this dude-

Gio: Again, same as Fugo and Bruno mmmm m e n/m a l e a l i g n e d p p l. At this point I'm completely on board with the trans (FTM) hc of his- I mean- Araki practically wrote it himself- BUT he also identifies as Androgynous given the way he dresses and I'd say even acts at times- However, I don't think he'd identify as a female bc of that. He just like... Understands and relates to women for obvious reasons- and the Neopronouns r kinda funny haha thing for me- Tbh idk to take them serious myself or not 💀 But I liked the idea anyways bc of how Mista called him his "Lucky Boy" and I just liked the idea of at that moment Giorno thinking 'That's... A... Nice word to use a pronoun-' (IN NO WAY DO I MEAN THIS IS A GIOMIS WAY- He just genuinely liked the word as a pronoun 💀 (that's my HC anyways-))

Trish: MmmMM w o m e n- She's definitely and completely into girls/female-alinged individuals. After the shit she went through? Constantly being surrounded by men both protecting her but also severely endangering her? Yeah, she's had enough of dudes- /hj. Trish is definitely like... A girly girl when it comes to everything outside of fighting- I just feel like she'd definitely see/describe all males as "too rough and boyish" idk what that'd even mean but essentially she just would always find some sort of discomfort in guys so- A lesbian she is- And I'd definitely say she's someone that's happy and confident with her gender. She loves her body and her gender and wouldn't want to change it for any reason or identify as anything other than herself, which is a AFAB :)

LITERALLY had the thought like yesterday or earlier today about how "fandom" seems resistant to have steve be Gay in the way where he does Not like women! and i think its kinda strange, bc like while i do love<3 bi steve, steves sexuality in canon is undefined, like assumed straight, but like that literally doesn't matter here, if we took assumed or stated straight as they cant be lgbt we would literally never have any fun! anyway, Steve's sexuality is undefined in canon so like he could be gay, he could be bi, so its not like its erasure, and we can read it any way we want, the world is ur oyster! or smth lol!

and like idk but it seems like ppl assume that bc steve has had one (1) meaningful romantic relationship with a woman he can't be gay, which idk seems a lil strange. like idk but i don't think every closeted/+unaware-of-it gay guy hates women?? and like if u are gay and unaware of it maybe the person u'd assume u have deep romantic feelings for is someone u like and care about?? idk. it also brings up something reminiscent of the whole idea that if u have been in a relationship with the "opposite" gender u can't really be gay, which......yikes.

Plus, on ao3 with no filters as of Right Now, the Gay Steve Harrington tag has 263 works, and at least a few of those use gay as an umbrella term, the Bisexual Steve Harrington tag on the other hand has 7927 works. that says...something

and like again, i Love bi steve, but i Love gay steve too, and honestly he doesn't get nearly enough love, so i love him a lil extra just for that<3

I love this headcanon so much and it pains me that there's so little content for it

There are two reasons he eats in the classroom instead of the cafeteria during lunch:

One: cafeteria is Loud and Crowded and Bad and he gets overstimulated

Two: classroom is Familiar and Good

That's also why he so often isn't seen in battlefields(USJ, forest training camp, etc.). My poor boy can't handle all the sensory input and hides

Sam:

1. sexuality headcanon

i feel like sam could probably fall under the pansexual label; most of my ships for him are with females so it wasn’t until i got into the sam/riley ship that i really gave his sexuality a lot of thought. but yeah i adore sam being with riley and honestly the idea of him being with like steve or bucky too is good too, i could defs see him getting his flirt on with those two dorks.

2. otp

this is. so hard. bc like. i can see sam with literally so many different people. like i love sam/riley, but i also really love sam/maria, and then sam/natasha is nice too, and really really oddly i thought of sam/becca today and like. at least in the fic i’m considering writing atm, it works really well so yeah. idk if i have a solid otp for sam. i guess i usually stick with either riley or maria though depending on the situation.

3. brotp

oh man. literally the steve/sam brotp and the sam/bucky brotp and the sam/steve/bucky brotps give me so much life. all three of these losers are so good together they play off of each other so well theyre really the Dream Team.

i also really like sam and natasha’s friendship too, i’ve seen some fics get it really good.

4. notp

uhhh, there aren’t really any sam ships that just out to me as a Major No. i guess i’m not super into the idea of sam and clint being a thing? but like it doesn’t really bother me as a ship in general or anything.

5. first headcanon that pops into my head

okay in any fic i write in which it’s a no powers au (so like most of what i write lmao) i have this hc that sam is dubbed the bird whisperer in anyone’s phone. so he was at the park with steve or bucky or whoever he’s mainly friends with in the fic and while he was there he ended up doing something (not quite sure what, maybe i’ll figure that out and write about it one day who knows) and whatever he did brought all the birds to his yard and they l o v e d him, and some even followed him around a little, thus he was dubbed the bird whisperer.

6. one way in which i relate to this character

BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISEXUAL MY DUDE. listen there is no way n o w a y steve rogers is not a bisexual man. i mean, come on. have yall seen the movies? steve rogers is in love with bucky barnes, peggy carter, sam wilson, natasha romanoff, and the list probably goes on. no but for real, bucky is literally his life partner, the love of his entire fucking life. tws?? a romcom for fuckin sure. but he also really was in love with peggy carter in tfa, i mean who wouldn’t be she’s fuckin badass and hot af and just a kickass woman. i’m in love with her too steve. and then you cannot tell me he isn’t flirting with sam at the beginning of tws because he so is. and i bet while bucky was Gone he probably somehow got his hands on some of thor’s asguardian mead or whatever at some avengers party and he and nat drunkenly kissed a little just to see what it was like (yknow before she got with clint ofc). but seriously this boy is a Bisexual Disaster and we all know it.

i have a lot of steve brotps tbh. i love the steve/natasha friendship so so sooo much. i really love how they did it in tws and i really just love the idea of them being close with each other like that. i also really love the steve/sam friendship ofc too. they play off of each other so well, and their flirty banter gives me lifeeee. i do like a good steve/tony friendship as well, and i like steve/wanda friendship too, i feel like they have a good relationship.

steve/sharon lmao. okay so like. i don’t exactly hate it, as in i don’t have a problem with the ship if it were done right. but bc it was so poorly done in the mcu i Do Not like it and i Do Not support. like the timing was horrible, it was all very no homo, the fact that she’s peggy’s niece and they flirt literally right after her funeral was in such poor taste and it makes me seriously uncomfortable, and also the way the mcu totally made sharon’s character nothing more than a love interest, and a really poorly done one too, just pisses me off bc she couldve been a really badass character if they wanted to make her one. so yeah. there’s just a lot of reasons why i Do Not like this ship. but it doesn’t like squick me or anything and i can tolerate it as like an old ship in fics, like she was steve’s ex before he met bucky or smth like that.

BIIIIIIIIIISEXUAL AS WELL MY DUDEEE. i could see bucky as straight up gay as well, but i like to stick with the bisexual label bc 1. im bisexual and i like to see my faves as bi too lmao and 2. i do think that he genuinely did like going out with girls back in the 40s and taking them dancing and shit. like he was definitely flirty and suave and good with the ladies but i dont think it was all for show. like i think he really did like those girls. ofc he loves steve though, like i said, soulmates! but yeah, my boy is defs bisexual too!

this one is tried and true but it’s always the first bucky hc that pops into mind. bucky was drafted, he didn’t enlist on his own. he refuses to tell steve that though bc of how fucking scared he is about it and bc he knows how much steve wants it, he doesnt want steve to think hes ungrateful or doesnt care about his country or anything like that. so he hides his letter away somewhere he knows steve will never find it.

steve only finds out when he finds bucky on the table in azzano reciting his number which evidently, gives up the fact that he was drafted.

6. one way in which i relate to this character

i too would follow that little guy from brooklyn that was too dumb not to run away from a fight to the jaws of death klgsj. no but really, bucky doesnt like to fight, he doesnt. he never wanted to go to war in the first place, he’s not the one that starts the fights, only finishes steve’s when he can’t, and he’s tired of war and fighting and all that. and i think that that’s something i have in common with bucky, that i dont want to fight unless it’s the last resort. like i’d rather try to civally solve a problem than jump straight to the arguing and fighting bits yknow?

About the fetishization of mlm/wlw post you reblogged that talked about the 'Yuri is Ace' headcanon, I just want to add my opinion. I'm Ace, and I relate to Yuri a lot, so I headcanon him as ace (but not a sex-repulsed ace) for that reason. And I know there was a big uproar in the fandom about that a little while ago, and tbh it made me feel super uncomfy. I do get the point that they're making, but ace representation is almost non-existant, so it's nice to see a character that resembles me.

i understand that, i really do and i am sympathetic to the fact that ace ppl do face various identity issues and look for representation in themselves. as a bisexual fan there’s a dearth of characters that resemble me as well and i feel that. i get that a lot of this is coming from desire to see ppl’s own selves represented, and for the most part that is something i entirely support.

but do you also understand why it makes gay ppl uncomfortable considering how gay sexuality is still condemned, fetishized, and poorly represented – if it ever is? it’s not like we get a lot, either. especially when crossed w yuuri’s race and the fact that he has a chronic mental illness? do you also understand that it’s nice to see ourselves represented, too? how really fucking revolutionary and refreshing it was to see a whole arc around a gay character’s growing comfort with his physical sexuality and done in a way that was pretty relatable and not gross or fetishized or controversial in-universe at all?

it was rly only ever yuuri that i saw who had the huge clamor for ace headcanons – except occasionally phichit, a dark-skinned asian man. why not any of the european characters? (and yeah “but katsudon” but like… as a sexual wlw i’m ngl sometimes i’d really rather just fantasize about food too lmao) his race and his sexuality are so so not insignificant here. i know that ace ppl can be gay too, but this really is abt gay sex and sexuality and why a lot of gay and/or non-white fans are as equally upset abt the predominance of ace yuuri hcs. gay fans made an uproar bc they had big reason to feel upset about it.

normally i don’t think sexuality hcs are in any way harmful bc they’re ofc born almost entirely out of ppl wanting to see themselves represented, and that’s great!! i completely support that! i do it myself all the time. but when ur taking a canon mlm character and applying hcs, there’s a little bit more nuance that needs to go into it. again i truly do understand the desire to see urself represented, and i don’t think these hcs were necessarily coming out of malice nor intent to do harm. but that post makes really, really good point and it’s important to be aware of it.
