✦ the first day, you’re so nervous you almost get physically ill, but then you see Callum, and all your nerves about counseling a bunch of tweens go away
✦ Callum smiles at you and compliments your ballcap, which has your favorite baseball team emblem on it
✦ the first time the kids go swimming in the pool at the campgrounds, you warn them and the other counselors about sunscreen. it was nearing 100 F, so the sun was merciless. they all listen except Callum of course, who brushes you off despite his obviously fair skin
✦ he ends up looking like a lobster and is viciously ill that night, skipping dinner. you look after him and get to know him better. he tells you about how he used to burn as a kid and it was never this bad. you laugh at that and point out that he should’ve learned his lesson back then, to which he agrees with a sigh
✦ the camp lasts all summer, so you made sure to bring literally everything you could possibly need- like bug spray. you brought plenty for you and the kids in case they needed it
✦ it’s hiking day, and everyone applies the bug spray except, of course, Callum. he ends up with bug bites everywhere visible on his body that evening. you tell all the kids in your group to point and laugh at him when he enters the mess hall for dinner. Callum rolls his eyes, scratching at his arm. all the kids yell at him to stop or he’d scar
✦ karaoke by the campfire night is fun and games until Callum breaks out the guitar and blows everyone away with his talent. everyone applauds him, and your crush only worsens when he looks at no one but you the whole time.
✦ Callum freaks out when one of the boys in his group has peanut butter as a dare during mess hall when he’s allergic to peanuts. like full on panicking and nearly crying and you have to calm him down
✦ painting class where Callum decides to poke your cheek playfully and you have no idea he had paint on it until much later
✦ then there’s that night at the lake. after that, you both grow closer. you sneak kisses when others aren’t looking and sometimes meet at the dock for a cigarette in the middle of the night. you hate the smell of cigarettes but they remind you of Callum now
✦ there’s a night where the head counselor rallies the kids to bed a little earlier so all the counselors can have an adult gathering. controlled, of course. wine coolers and such- nothing too hard. but Callum takes it too far as always. he gets handy with you and you have to scold him so no one figures the two of you out
✦ Callum singing the Campfire Song from SpongeBob at a bonfire one night, and none of the kids know where it’s from, but you and the other counselors sing it at the top of your lungs
✦ you and Callum patching up a kid who fell and skinned their knees and scolding them gently for running when not necessary
✦ Callum makes you something in pottery class, and you almost cry at the thought of him making you something. no boy- or man, rather, had done anything like that for you
✦ you definitely exchange numbers and stuff for after camp and agree to meet up and hang out before both of your college campuses start classes back up
✦ you and Callum work together to remove a series of stingers from the same boy who ate peanut butter while allergic because he was dared to touch a beehive on a hike
✦ you end up hurting your ankle on one of the hiking days, and Callum helps nurse it with ice and elevation in your room while everyone else you bunk with is away
✦ Callum confesses he really likes you and obviously didn’t want that one night to be a one-time thing. he asks you if you’d like to be his after you leave camp, and you say yes (obviously)
✦ Callum playfully makes fun of you for crying when the kids start leaving to go home, but then he also starts tearing up

✩ camp counselor au? ✩
Tumblr media
✩ So...what do we think about a camp counselor au with Ellie? Except let's make it a Christian camp because I need my religious trauma to be useful for something.
✩ Maybe she's about to graduate, but her program requires volunteer hours, so she signs up to be a counselor at the camp and is honestly really pissed about it. But then she gets paired with you. She thinks you're this stuck-up, church-obsessed girl, but she doesn't know that your parents made you go and you hate it just as much as her.
✩ I can totally imagine her unintentionally ruining one of those dumb purity demonstrations. Like the teacher has someone lick a cupcake and then asks everyone in the room if they would eat it. It's supposed to demonstrate how "unpure" things are "undesirable," but Ellie is just so bored and wasn't paying attention. So she volunteers to eat the cupcake and doesn't understand why everyone is so taken aback.
✩ Imagine her telling stories to the kids around the campfire. She doesn't think they're that scary, but she ends up facing your wrath after three kids wake you up in the middle of the night from nightmares.
✩ Maybe a kid is acting up, and instead of accepting the consequence she gave him, he says that "a demon must have been inside of him" to try and get out of it. Ellie just stares at him because none of the training she did prepared her for that response.
✩ Her coming up with the most creative ways to discourage PDA.
✩ And of course, sneaking around with her because the stakes are even higher at this camp. Will this just be a summer fling or will you stay in touch?
I might write something full-length for this. Any ideas?

The Lifeguard part 3
Sunny Day Jack x Reader

Tumblr media
“The new food isn’t bad, but I really don’t get the appeal of changing a brand that’s been fine on its own for decades,” Jack said, twisting one of his fries between his thumb and forefinger.
You put a massive glob of ketchup on your burger, “You really can’t chalk it up to anything other than making money,” You said. You take a big bite out of your burger, excess grease and condiment remaining on your lips as you messily chew and swallow before wiping your mouth, “Speaking’ of which… how much do I owe you for the meal?”
Jack waved you off, “No charge.”
“Don’t gimme that – I’ve got more than enough-”
“I don’t need it.”
You stare at him a moment before shrugging, “Whatever. I’m fuckin’ starving.”
“Don’t exaggerate,” Jack said.
“No really,” You replied, taking another bite of your burger, “I skipped breakfast.”
“Why would you do that?”
You shrug, “Couldn’t eat. I texted Skylar all last night and I still haven’t heard back,” The warmth drains from Jack’s cheeks and the feeling of lead weighs on his chest.
He wets his suddenly dry lips, “Really?”
“Really,” You then scowled,” I know the bitch sees my texts though because she leaves me on ‘read’.”
Bile rises in the mascots’ throat. And he doesn’t know if it’s because of how casually you can call someone you deemed a friend a ‘bitch’. Or if it’s because he’s the reason you’re feeling so bitterly. Skylar wasn’t the one who left you on read, he did. Why did he have to go through her phone?! But in hindsight he supposed that this wasn’t entirely a bad thing. This gave you the impression Skylar was alive and well. Though he didn’t know how well someone could be after being found out you screwed someone else's boyfriend, but hey, he could probably assume if she were alive, she’d feel very guilty.
But Jack knows he’s being too quiet and asks to appear inconspicuous, “Have you heard from Ian at least?”
You shake your head, your frown deepening, “He isn’t even reading his texts…”
“You have any idea where they went? Or where they would go?”
“Nope.”
He sighs, letting disappointment seep into his features. Some of it is real. He’s disappointed this all had happened. It doesn’t even seem real, this past week. He’s hoping by tomorrow, he’ll wake up and Skylar will be smiling at him as she leads the kids on a trail to the ziplines, or that Ian will be trying his best to rangle his group in until you come in and his face turns red at the sight of you in the lifeguard’s leotard…
You’re swirling a fry in a pool of ketchup when you say, “I hope they’re dead…”
Jack choked on his drink, “What? ”
“You heard me.”
Jack ran a hand down his face, “No… no you don’t, Y/N.”
You hum, “Kind of,”
“No."
After a moment of silence you spoke, “I still can't believe it. Ian… you know we went to elementary school together. Since then we’ve been inseparable. And he’s never lied to me!” You slumped back in your chair, looking up at the fluorescent lights in the ceiling. “When he and Skylar met at that…fancy acting school I felt something in my gut telling me it wasn’t right but I just chalked it up as petty jealousy… How could he do that to me?”
Suddenly Jack feels as if he's the one who’d been cheated on. All this time he thought he had a chance with Skylar, but she had her eyes on someone else. Someone taken no less. He lets out a forlorn sigh. You shake your head and lean on the table, “Sorry. I know you liked Skylar so… this probably makes you feel pretty shit too.” You said.
“It’s fine,” Jack replied, smiling softly, “It’s not your fault.”
On your way to the campsite, little to no words were exchanged. You leaned over, resting your arm on the side door. You watched the buildings and civilization pass you by. It was like leaving your world behind, never having been much of an outdoorsy person.
Jack advised you to strap in, but of course, you hadn't listened.
“It isn’t that long a drive,” You said. “And the car doesn't even have a roof so I don’t know how much safer we’d be in seatbelts…”
As you said that, the car hits a hump in the road. You jolt in your seat and catch yourself on Jack’s forearm. “You were saying?” He said.
“Heh…”
You pushed yourself upright, but a hand lingered on Jack’s arm. It was surprisingly firm and toned. With a decent amount of hair. They always looked so plush from afar, especially with all the hugging he’d do. He was a big teddy bear to everyone he met. Well, everyone except you.
“Y/N…”
You blinked out of your thoughts, his arm flexed as you subconsciously squeezed it. You retracted your hand, “My bad, you've got a lot of muscle for a mascot.” You said, chuckling slightly.
Jack gave you a look. You put your hands up in defense, "Not trying to sound weird! It's just that, I dunno… I didn't expect a guy of your…position… to work out like that or anything…"
He turned his attention to the road once more, thumping his fingers on the steering we'll.
"...I did some jobs back in the city before this." He said.
"What kind of jobs?" You asked.
"Moving. Heavy lifting. That sort of thing…"
You simply hum in reply before looking back out at the fields. Crossing a certain point in the road you spot the shed and point at a familiar figure, "Hey, isn't that Bill?"
Jack's head just about snaps off his neck as he spots the head counselor looking around the shed. Bill spots you two in the Moke and beckons the driver over. Instead, Jack speeds up and continues towards the campsite.
You brace yourself in your seat, "H-Hey! What's your rush?"
"I'm just trying to get you to camp safely." Jack replied. His eyes were erratic.
"I appreciate that, but didn't Bill need you or something? It could've been important!"
"Just let me do this very quickly!"
Soon enough, you made it to the campsite; Jack making a hasty pull over as you stumbled out of the cart.
"Um, thanks. For the free food and everything." You said. Jack grunts a reply and speeds off in a cloud of dust. You sigh. That guy is truly a piece of work.
Jack's stomach churns when he drives back to the shed. He pulls up on the grass. He hops out of the vehicle and strides up to Bill with a practiced and fight smile. The old man has his arms folded with a stern look on his face.
"Just what was that earlier? I know you saw me!" Bill scolded.
Jack rubbed the back of his neck, an easygoing yet guilty look on his face, "Sorry, sir. But it was so late out now that I wanted to make sure Y/N got back safe." He said.
Bill's brows raised in surprise, "You were out with Y/N ?" He asked.
"Just for a bite to eat," Jack replied, "She didn't like what the cafeteria had and it turns out she skipped breakfast so…" He shrugged, doing his best to seem like the well meaning boy scout persona he built up for the past five years.
Bill however, didn't seem so convinced. A subtle smirk in his features. The implications made Jack a bit sick.
"You watch yourself now, Jack," He said, "the girl is taken after all."
Was.
Jack waved his hands defensively, "I-it's not like that at all sir! I was just doing a favor. It's not good for the counselors to go unfed as well as the kids!"
"Mmmhm. What'd I say? She's growing on you!"
Jack rolled his eyes. "What was it you wanted to see me about..?"
Bill snapped his fingers, "Ah," He led the young man back around the shed. He gestured to a long mound of dirt. Jack's palms sweat inside his gloves.
"W-what is it?" Jack asked.
"No idea… it certainly wasn't here before," Bill replied, "I came up here to put away the last of supplies."
"How'd you find it..?"
“I remembered I sent Ian and Sky up here. They didn’t show after that. I thought if I looked around here I’d find something they left or…” His voice trails off and he shrugs. Jack stares intently at the mound. Almost hoping that if he stared hard enough, he could will it away, or maybe cover it in grass with his mind. Of course no such thing happened.
Bill toed at the dirt with his shoes. The dirt easily moving made Jack’s heart skip. “Do you have any idea where they might’ve gone?” Jack shook his head unblinkingly.
The old man simply hummed. Then he knelt down and dug his hand in the soil. Jack’s eyes widened, grabbing him by the shoulder. “Bill, I really don’t think you should do that! What if it’s an anthill or a nest of some sort?”
“I’ve been working here for twenty years and I’ve never seen a nest like this, Jack. Someone put something here…”
“Sir-”
“Go on and get me a shovel, boy.”
The words glued Jack to the spot. He couldn’t get his legs to move, because he was sure if they did, they’d take him down the road and away from the camp. Away from his life. Bill raised a brow, “Can ya hear? Go on then.”
He swallowed the lump in his throat and shook his head. Tears stung the corners of his eyes.
Bill narrowed his eyes. He got up himself and brought the shovel from the shed. He dug the blade in the soil and chucked it over his shoulder. He then dug into another chunk. And another. Until he hit something solid. Jack’s blood ran cold. He couldn’t breathe.
Bill moved the excess dirt away until he saw the familiar yellow fabric of the counselor uniform shirt.
"Wha-"
He was taken down in a blur of blue, the shovel falling out of his hands. He wrestled against Jack's strong frame, attempting to buck out of his grip. Jack's arms came up around Bill's neck in an attempt to choke him.  The old man managed to maneuver his arm just a bit over his face and bit into his bicep.
Jack yelled in pain, kicking Bill off, who fell into the arms reach of the shovel. Bill looked between the weapon and his assaulter before scrambling over to it. Soft fabric took hold of his ankle in a tight grip before pulling him back and Jack crawled over to grab it.
Stumbling to their feet, Bill lunged at Jack, managing to grab ahold of the shovel neck. He attempted to wrestle the object from the larger man's grip, who never broke eye contact, his eyes bloodshot and wet with tears. Finally, with a hefty pull and shoving the old man with nothing but pure force, Jack was the one with the weapon and prepped for a swing, holding it over his shoulder.
Bill's eyes widened, "Joseph, don't-"
Jack swung and Bill's head snapped backwards with a sickening crack. He stumbled backwards, his hand grasping aimlessly for anything to keep him upright before tripping over the dirt and falling onto his back.
The former head counselors head lolled to the side. His pale blue eyes stared up at the night sky, mouth hung open; forever in a state of shock of how he ended up where he was.
Jack’s hands clenched on the shovel, trembling with irritation, fear and everything in between. He sucked in a breath and yelled at the body. He wanted to say "I warned you not to look" "I'm sorry" or "fuck you". But all that came out was a broken wail.
He kicks at its leg repeatedly, screaming. He stomps the torso. He whacks the head with the shovel, inciting another gruesome noise, likely from bones breaking and flesh ripping.
It's only until the body is contorted in a such a manner - splayed out as if there wasn't a single bone in its body - that Jack relaxes. The damage has been done. And he gets to digging, taking care to make sure the hole is deeper.

it’s not a want anymore… it’s a need.
camp counselors steddie au
eddie flirts with poor ol’ stevie everyday but steve is just too oblivious to notice. and all the kids are rooting for them to get together UGHHH MY HEART <333 this is so cute
Ahhh one of my fav tropes for these two! ⛺
Steve had been a camp counselor since Dustin, one of Steve's babysitting kids, had whined that camp would be cancelled due to not enough volunteers. That was three years ago, his kids were 14 now and so they got to stay overnight in the cabins. Steve enjoyed his summer job, he'd been a boy scout as a kid and so a lot of the activities they did brought a lot of nostalgia for him. It also meant he could keep an eye on his kids and not spend the summer worrying and being bored until they returned.
Dustin had prattled on about how he'd convinced one of his new friends to come to camp this year. Steve hadn't heard anything about another kid that had joined the party but he would meet them soon he supposed. What Steve did not expect was that Dustin's new friend was Eddie Munson.
"He's a full grown adult, Dustin, I expected your friend to be a kid."
"He ran Hellfire until he graduated this year, I've told you about him before."
Turns out that Dustin had also roped Eddie into being a counsellor and that he and Steve would be sharing a cabin all summer.
Eddie had nothing to do this summer and needed money now that he had graduated. When Dustin had suggested being a camp counselor and told him the pay he jumped at the chance. He didn't expect to be bunking with King Steve of all people. Eddie had heard a lot of the old King in the last year from his little sheep but Eddie didn't fully believe he'd changed.
It was clear that the King was long dead however. Steve was so good with the kids, helping the ones that were struggling with the activities, making sure the quieter ones still felt included and not overwhelmed. Eddie will not admit that his heart skipped a beat when Steve was bandaging a little girl's knee after she fell on the hike.
Steve was also friendly with Eddie, he'd immediately apologised for his King Steve days which Eddie hadn't expected him to even acknowledge. Steve seemed to listen intently and never interrupted the epic tales Eddie told around the campfire. The two had started talking once they went to bed, whispered conversations across the space between their bunks.
It wasn't long before Eddie's careful friendliness turned to playful flirting. Not that Steve noticed, to the party's despair.
"You and Steve would be perfect for each other, I need my dads to be together, Edward!"
"Watch your tone kiddo, also ew never call me Edward again."
Steve had a massive crush on Eddie barely a week into camp. He'd had a tearful confession to Robin a few months before but he hadn't liked any boys before Eddie. Steve knew he was done for when he saw how Eddie was with his kids, how much he cared for them, how he bright smiles to all their faces with his stories.
Eddie was kind to Steve too. Steve didn't feel any animosity from his King Steve days. Eddie saw the good in Steve, it made him feel warm inside. He just wished he could tell Eddie.
"You're an idiot, Steve. Eddie has been flirting with you all summer!"
"Watch your tone, Dustin, and no he's not he's just friendly."
The kids were starting to lose their minds. Eddie was very obviously flirting and Steve clearly liked Eddie but couldn't tell.
"What if we just lock them in their cabin?"
"Eddie can pick locks."
"Not if he's distracted locking lips!"
"Ew those are our dads."
In no time at all it was the last night of camp. In the morning they'd pack everything up and head back home. Steve wondered if he'd still see Eddie, he probably would, they practically shared custody of those kids. Eddie wondered if Steve would even want to be seen with him around town.
The kids had been shuffled off to bed after one last round of smores and campfire story. The two boys found themselves sitting on the end of the pier, not tired enough for bed yet, sharing a cigarette and looking at the stars.
"Do you think we'll still hang out after tomorrow?"
"I'm sure those kids will find a way for us all to hang out, would you want to hang out? I mean, we're not exactly the same, the king and the freak."
"You're not a freak, Eds. You're amazing and funny and smart and creative. I'd love to be seen around town with you."
"No-one has ever said anything like that about me before, Stevie."
"Well, it's all true."
"You're amazing too."
"Can I kiss you?"
Eddie didn't answer, he just smiled softly and leant in capturing Steve's lips.
In the morning they had almost finished packing up when they heard it.
"Steven Harrington is that a hickey!"
"Watch you tone!"

If you're still accepting Damien fic requests, maybe a camp au with a puppy love crush on one of the counselors (Ian or Anthony) and/or having a reciprocated crush on Shayne
I wrote this in the camp au that was written by @wow-ihateithere
Damien/Anthony and Damien/Shayne - Summer Camp
--
“You’re acting like one of your kids,” Angela says with a grin.
“Huh?” Damien says, coming back to his senses, turning his gaze away from where he had been watching Anthony animatedly eating with his campers.
“You’re staring at Anthony like a thirteen-year-old with a crush,” she adds, mimicking a love sick expression.
“Stop!” Damien says, feeling his face get hot. “I am not.”
“You are!” Angela says around giggles. “I hang out with the same age, but the girl version. I can spot a crush a mile away.”
Damien scoffs. That absolutely wasn’t true because if it were Angela would know that Amanda’s been into her since the beginning of summer, instead of being utterly oblivious.
“I don’t have a crush on Anthony,” Damien says more firmly, but his face gets red.
“Okay,” Angela says in a sing-song voice, going back to eating her lunch.
--
Okay, so, maybe Damien did have a small crush, but it’s small! It’s manageable! He just thinks Anthony is cute and funny. He’s good with the kids too. Damien finally accepts the crush on Anthony when he watches Anthony strip off his colorful camp shirt and toss it on the grass up beyond the shore. Anthony is muscled and lean and gorgeous in the bright light of the warm summer day. Damien watches as water splashes on to Anthony as he begins to wade into the lake, Anthony letting out a shriek as the cold-water splashes on him, Ian laughing from where he had committed the crime and swimming away before Anthony could retaliate.
“Mr. Damien! Come on!” one of his students yells from the water. “We need you for chicken!”
Damien smiles and peels off his own t-shirt as he wades into the cool water of the lake.
--
Damien catches Ian and Anthony kissing after one of the staff bonfires in the deep warm night of summer. They are sat together on the same log, Ian’s hands in Anthony’s hair and Anthony’s hands on Ian’s waist. They kiss urgently and fervently in the night, the warm glow of the fire illuminating them.
Damien isn’t crushed. He didn’t need Angela’s supposed ability to see crushes developing to realize that the two counselors liked each other, to see the momentum between them building like an unstoppable freight train where they were always meant to collide.
He vows to let go of his crush that day out of respect for both of the other counselors.
--
What takes him by surprise is when they do the camp talent show Shayne sits next to him while they watch the acts. How whenever Shayne laughs it is so bright and cheery and how more often than not, he’s looking at Damien to see if he’s laughing too.
Damien and Shayne’s talent is performing an improv skit together. They make it cheesy, making the younger kids laugh and the older kids roll their eyes and “die of cringe.” At the end of the skit Shayne gets down on one knee and then offers Damien a plastic flower, declaring his love.
The younger kids giggle, the older one’s groan, the other counselors crack up laughing. Damien accepts the plastic flower, and he sees Shayne smile with bright blue eyes crinkling in the corner, a big cheesy grin on his face. What takes Damien by surprise is the fondness in his heart, the way it speeds up when Shayne pretends to plant a kiss on his cheek, big, wet, and sloppy.
Angela gives him a knowing look from the stands and Damien pointedly ignores her.
--
It’s August when Shayne presses Damien against the side of the staff log cabin and kisses him in the darkness of the night. When he presses his nose against Damien’s and says, “I’ve been waiting all summer to do that.”
There are fireflies all around as Damien leans in and kisses him back.

Harringrove camp counselors x werewolf au anyone?
Camp starts in a few days, Billy is getting ready for the shift and is thus super grumpy and practically starving. Steve is the only thing that stands between him and doom and destruction.
-
Tomorrow night is the full moon.
Billy's been on a short fuse all morning. Snapped at Jonathan and Keith and anyone else who so much as looked his way.
The only time he's somewhat calmed down all day is when he sat down to eat a little while ago. Of course, he plowed through his meal, and looked mildly upset enough afterwards for Steve to slide his tray over. Billy fixed him with grateful, almost teary eyes before he tucked his fork into the mashed potatoes.
Steve feels bad that he can't offer the usual treatment. Can't have Billy bundled up on the sofa with steak and French fries sitting in front of him at every meal.
The best he can do out here is make sure the tank is full of something, even if it can't be purely protein.
That, and he came absolutely loaded with jerky and Slim Jim's.
By the time mid afternoon rolls around, Billy is sluggish. Sitting by the lake in a lounge chair, umpteenth meat stick in his hand, stomach glaringly full.
He's not as cut as he used to be. Steve appreciates soft abs, thick thighs. Seeing the blond with a rounded tummy like this makes him feel...
Domestic.
Like he could scoop Billy up and lavish him with kisses and attention until he's breathless from it. Or buy him a house.
Whichever.
It's just their luck that someone else would take notice to the fact that they’ve disappeared from the main campground. Eddie's snickering alerts them to his presence before he ever shows up, Chrissy trailing next to him.
"Damn, Hargrove, don't let Keith catch you slacking off," he says. Stands too close for comfort and earns a scoff from Billy. "How many strikes until he boots your ass off the program?"
Munson glances over at Steve, who's been sitting crisscross on the ground flipping through his itinerary, looking over the names of his soon-to-arrive list of campers. Steve shakes his head, raising his eyebrows in hopes that Munson interprets it as lay off. He doesn't, of course.
Just winks at Steve and crouches down next to Billy's chair.
Although Billy's wearing sunglasses, it's obvious from his demeanor that he's glaring daggers at Eddie.
The two aren't exactly friends, aren't exactly enemies. Billy buys off him occasionally. Laughs at a joke every now and then. Playfully flirts back when Eddie deals the first cutesy pet name.
But Billy doesn't put him on a pedestal like other people tend to do. He isn't nice to him just because he's got good weed; no one crosses Billy Hargrove and gets away with it. Something that Steve learned the hard way when they first met.
Before they became friends. Before they were gentle to one another.
So Billy doesn't hesitate to smack Eddie's hand away when he reaches out to pinch teasingly at his side.
"Guess we know the snacks are good at Harrington's place," Eddie teases. "Hell, I'd get fat too if I had name brand shit at my disposal all the time."
Billy grits his teeth. Steve wants to usher Eddie away for him, if for no other reason than it might help Eddie keep all of his limbs intact. But Eddie's too fast and too stupid to be stopped.
He snatches the Slim Jim from Billy's hand and goes to take a bite, but it doesn't make it to his mouth before Billy has risen up from his seat. Steve, fearing the worst, jumps up as well. Readies himself to intervene if he has to, to remind Billy of his own strength before he does any serious damage.
But Billy doesn't pick Eddie up by his throat to strangle the life out of him. No, he manhandles him and swings him over his shoulder, stomping towards the lake with Eddie kicking and screaming all the while.
When he gets nearly knee-deep in the water, he throws him. Far enough out that Eddie actually sinks and takes a moment to resurface.
When he does, he swipes his wet bangs out of his face, clearly about to blow his gasket.
But Billy stays standing there. Chest heaving, shoulders squared, and the anger relaxes off of Eddie's face. Turns into fear, briefly, like he's worried that if he swims to shore, Billy will crush his skull between his hands. Or shove his head under the water and not let it come back up.
Neither of which are too far from the truth, just based on the way that the veins are popping to the surface on the blond’s neck.
Steve jogs out to where Billy stands in the water, setting a careful hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, c'mon, let's go take a walk, huh?" Steve coos.
Gently grabs Billy's hand and guides him out of the lake, leaving Eddie floating just a ways off. Slim Jim bobbing on the surface of the water.
When the two pass by Chrissy, she mouths an I'm sorry to Billy before she jogs out to help Eddie back to shore. And probably to lecture him for being mean, which is something she does fairly often.
Even if he doesn't have bad intentions, the guy can't keep his mouth shut to save his life.
By the time supper rolls around, Billy is antsy. It takes Steve rubbing his back while seated in the dining hall to calm him down enough to eat.
Their friends give them wary glances. Clearly concerned, but too afraid to ask what's wrong. It's not like Steve could really tell them anyway. He just tries to soothe the blond the best that he can.
That turns out to be easier after dinner, when the two sneak off to the bathrooms and Steve tugs Billy's shorts down. Presses up behind him as Billy leans his hands on the sink, legs spread as he pitches forward to take all that Steve has to offer.
The blond isn't even quiet. He moans loud. Watches their reflections with half-lidded eyes in the mirror, cock bobbing between his legs as Steve thrusts into him.
When he comes, his brows knit together and his mouth parts around a pretty sound. It's the most at ease that Steve has seen him all day.
It makes him want to prolong this moment. He keeps pushing into Billy, savoring his whimpers and gasps as he grips at his hips. Smooths a hand over his abdomen, relishing how soft and full he feels against his palm. Billy pushes back into him, trying to take him deeper.
"Y'know, fuck Munson," Steve pants. Drags kisses against Billy's neck and nibbles at his ear, earning another moan. "I like your tummy."
Billy whines. Another pearly bead dribbles from his tip, the first of many as Steve keeps plowing into him.
After having his soft underbelly squeezed by a slender hand, he spills another load. Steve is soon to follow, pressing his fingers into his lover's pudge until his hips are stuttering and he's tipping over that edge as well.
Billy moans as he's filled up. Cups his hand over the back of Steve's and holds it there as they both sit on that high together.
The brunet smiles against Billy's skin. Lavishes his neck with attention as they come down together, still linked, still cradling Billy's full tummy.
"Do you feel better, bubs?" Steve asks.
Billy just pants for a moment. Smiles at Steve in the mirror and winks at him.
If their little bathroom hangout was heard, no one says anything about it. Not even when the two of them climb into one bunk at the end of the night.

Boys will be boys. This means tween boys will dare each other to do things, even if it’s dangerous. A peanut allergy isn’t exempt from dares, unfortunately. Callum learns this quickly and harshly when one of the boys in his group consumes a peanut butter cup despite his life-threatening allergy to peanuts. He was dared by another boy in the group named Dallon to eat it, and Cole, who was the one allergic, wasn’t going to pass up a dare from Dallon. Cole didn’t want to be a wimp, so he ate it. Immediately, his throat begins to feel funny, and his tongue sits heavy in his mouth. Dallon starts to panic when Cole’s face turns red due to a lack of oxygen. Dallon bolts to where Callum is standing and talking to you in the mess hall.
“Uhh, Mister Callum?” Dallon wrings his hands nervously.
“Yes, Dallon?” Callum kneels down in front of the kid.
“Cole needs help.”
Callum looks over to where some kids are starting to gather around Cole, who is now struggling to breathe. Panic surges through Callum, and the both of you hurry over to the boy.
“Are you okay? What happened?” Callum asks Cole, and the boy weakly points to the candy wrapper.
“He’s allergic,” you say, eyes widening in realization, “Do you have an EpiPen?”
Cole nods, pointing to his backpack on the floor. Callum is rubbing Cole’s back to keep him as calm as possible, trying to keep himself calm as well. You rummage through the bag and find the pen. Luckily, knowing first aid was required to be a counselor, so you know how to use an EpiPen.
“Okay, Cole. You’re gonna feel a pinch in your leg,” you warn, uncapping the EpiPen and then injecting the needle into the boy’s thigh.
“Cal, go get the head counselor. Cole’s gonna have to go to the hospital, I’m afraid,” you grimace, “He could still go into shock.”
Callum nods and jogs out of the mess hall to call the head counselor over the walkie-talkie. He’s an absolute wreck. Watching a kid struggling to breathe was not on his to-do list today. Especially one of the boys in his group, for whom he is responsible. Callum wipes his sweaty forehead as you join him outside as the head counselor arrives and escorts Cole to the nursing cabin. Just as you are about to say something, Dallon walks up to you and Callum.
“It’s my fault, I dared him to eat it,” he frowns, “I didn’t think allergies were that serious.”
“It’s alright, Dallon,” Callum sighs, “But now you know what happens with allergies and not to do it again, right?”
“Right,” Dallon nods, “Am I in trouble, Mister Callum?”
“I think something like this is up to the head counselor, bud. But I don’t think you’ll go home just yet if it was an accident.”
The kids are given an extended lunch and are granted permission to go and play in the field by the lake until the head counselor figures things out. Cole is alert and breathing fine when paramedics arrive. You and Callum are hiding behind a nearby cabin as Callum sucks down a cigarette.
“He could’ve died,” Callum shakes his head, “And it’s because I wasn’t paying attention.”
“Even if you were, boys are gonna do boy stuff. You should know this,” you nudge him in the side, “When you’re that age, you’ll do anything you’re dared to. Cole may know how bad his reactions get and can tolerate them. Or maybe this was the first time he had a reaction to nuts. Either way, he handled it like a champ, and you were there to comfort him. You did great.”
“If anything, you did all the saving,” Callum snorts, “I would’ve chickened out trying to stab a kid with a needle.”
“Yeah, it’s scary, but at that moment, all that matters is helping the kid.”
“True,” Callum says, putting out his cigarette.
You kiss his cheek, “Let’s go before we get caught, or worse, someone gets hurt again today.”

My favorite Steddie tropes
(Why the fuck a 3-month-old ship has enough tropes for me to rank them again?)
Future!AU. Best be about 10 years after they finally defeated Vecna, all the kids are already graduated and have jobs scattering around America. Steve would always be the last one to leave Hawkins behind. I always imagine Steve would be some kind of teacher, just working with kids in general. Maybe he would go to community college and work his way up to his master in education and then find a job teaching elementary students. Maybe he would be a basketball coach for school. Eddie might be whisked away by the government. And he would totally be something like a rock star or a writer, and a famous one at that. His imagination, theatrical tendencies topple up with what he actually went through is the combo for something so beautiful and captivating. I even have a list of what I think all the kids would do once they actually grow up...
Disaster bi! Steve and Confident gay! Eddie. Do I even have to SAY ANYTHING ELSE? I should just write “Canon Steddie” instead lmao. A plus if Eddie is a soft dom and do a whole Power Point introduction to BDSM for Steve.
Time loop trope. (Is this a trope? It should be. Everyone should be writing Steve going through a time loop hundreds of time to try and save his family)
Dustin finds out Steve and Eddie are dating by accident. Imagining seeing your parents bang it out, I’m not even gonna blame Dustin if he become homophobic after this.
Eddie just keeps running away (figuratively and literally) and Steve just keeps chasing him.
OMG THEY ARE RIVAL CAMP COUNSELORS
Steve, by some magic (mostly his blinding love for that one metalhead), agreed to play DnD. He and Eddie flirt through their characters the whole night. The kids hate it.
They both get nightmares and seek each other out.
Highschool AU, they met/fucked/dated/became friends before the events in Season 4 happened.
Vampire!Eddie and Werewolf!Steve. Sorry not sorry.

The Lifeguard Part 4
Tags/CW: summer camp au, camp counselor au, horror, slasher, rivals to lovers. Drama. Skinny dipping. Minors DNI
Tumblr media
It’s that dream again.
That dream where everything’s perfect.
It’s a sunny day. Everything’s in slow motion, but the sounds are in real time. Everyone is whooping and cheering. Children laugh and run past him. In the distance they zipline and play games. Counselors smile as they wave at him. Everyone is happy. Everything is perfect.
But there’s one thing missing. Skylar. It’s often in these dreams she’d walk past him and smile, giving a coy wave and a wink. She’s dressed in her loose counselors’ tee and jean shorts. Her blonde hair that catches in the sun flows behind her and her blue eyes sparkle. She’s perfect. But she’s nowhere to be seen.
He hears the distant shrill of the lifeguards’ whistle. The water is still and perfect. There’s no one at the lake but you. You’re in the lifeguards’ bright red leotard and wearing shades. Sunlight glints off your perfect legs. You lie back in your chair, a sigh of pleasure echoes as you soak up the suns’ rays. Then you look at him and the sounds of laughter are drowned out. You smile perfect whites and blow him a kiss.
---
After a week, the camp had put out a missing persons’ flier for Skylar, Ian, and Bill. There was really nothing Jack could do to protest on the basis he’d look suspicious. It made him feel awful once local parents caught wind that people were going missing and decided to pull most of their kids from the camp. He couldn’t have imagined how much of the experience had been ruined for them, and he even had to hold back some tears of his own as he watched the smaller ones scream and cry to stay but to no avail.
But no, he reasoned, it was better this way. Less kids at the camp meant less of the likelihood that they’d go wandering past campgrounds. And that was less people to keep track of going near the shed, which after that fateful night with Bill he’d made certain no one else had ventured near it. And in the meantime, he’d kept himself occupied… a little side project you might say. He planted flowers.
He planted them behind the shed, on top of the mound where they’d been buried. He hadn’t even known where he’d gotten the idea. But one day he’d simply ran up to the local convenience store, found some seeds and started planting. They were scorpion grasses - “forget-me-nots”. He grimaced at the implications. It didn’t take long for the other counselors’ to start noticing them in the distance. So of course they questioned him.
“Oh that?” Jack asked, “That’s sort of a… garden I’m starting.” That earned him a few narrowed glances and side eyes. He rubbed the back of his neck, using the flush of guilt to play it up like he was embarrassed. “I… haven’t been able to really sleep much since Skylar disappeared so… I just started without thinking.” At the very least, the words were true. And a half truth is always good to sell in the right context. Finally he said, “I figured maybe… If I planted these they might see them. They might want to come back. I dunno…”
They ate it right up. Their looks of suspicion turned somber and apologetic. They muttered sorrows and walked past him giving pats on the back. All except you, who sucked your teeth at the explanation. You shook your head, “They ain’t coming back.”
All eyes were on you now. Another counselor named Olivia folded her arms and raised a brow, “And… why is that Y/N?” She asked.
“Because they’re guilty.” You replied matter-of-factly. Jack gave you a pleading look, which you aptly ignored.
Olivia pressed, “Of?”
“Being slimy, trifling, no-good adulterers.” Your statement was met with scoffs and mumbles of disbelief. You simply shrugged, “You heard me, they were creepin’.” You then proceeded to spill everything you heard from Jack that night, though you were sure not to mention his name. Still, it made the mascot visibly wilt. And now it looks to everyone like he was pining after a “bad girl” who acted like a “good girl” and led him on. Where that last part came from he hadn’t known. But apparently everyone knew at some point he liked Skylar.
People weren’t so sympathetic towards you however. You’d been cheated on, that much was certain. They had no reason to dispute you, and it would explain your shit attitude the week before. But your apparent hostility towards the whole thing had made other counselors grow wary of you and they began to talk.
“She’s not even joining in on searches for them!”
“Yeah, that was still her boyfriend and best friend. You’d think she’d be a little more caring about the whole thing...”
And then things got on the more insidious side.
“I know she can be a bitch sometimes but this is too far.”
“It wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out she had something to do with their disappearance.”
Jack’s blood ran cold. The thought that anyone would be accusing you of murder… It rubbed him the wrong way. The more ruthless part of him thought this was likely the best case scenario. You hadn’t mentioned his name and suspicions were already on you. You weren’t exactly what came to mind for blood thirsty ax-murderer but looks could be deceiving. He could always just relocate the bodies, adjust some wounds and… He shook his head clear of the incriminating thoughts. That wasn’t who he was. The goal was discretion and scarcity. There was no need to make things more complicated. Aside from that, there were things that needed clearing up…
You were on lifeguard duty as usual, and while there weren’t as many kids to manage, it was all the more reason to stay vigilant of them. Some counselors left due to stress but it was more you hung around to stave off boredom. You lie back in your chair, soaking up the sun’s rays, absentmindedly chewing gum. Jack shuddered, remembering his dream.
He got it again when he walked to your high chair and knocked on the stilts. Without even looking down you hop from your chair and take off your shades. You grin, “We’ve gotta stop meeting like this.”
“We need to talk.” Jack said.
“You always wanna talk,” You then turn to the kids in the lake and tell them to take a hike. They all groan, disappointed their fun was interrupted. Nevertheless, they obey and go to dry off.
“I think they may hate me more than they did a week ago.” You said casually.
“I want to talk about what happened earlier this week.” Jack said.
“What about it?”
Jack sighed, “Don’t play dumb. You made such an unnecessary scene back there.”
“Sorry.” You said unapologetically.
“I mean it. People are starting to talk.” Jack briefly glances around, “They think you have something to do with Ian and Sky’s disappearance.”
Your eyebrow furrows, “Where’d they get that from?”
“You’re bitter. You don’t help with searches. You’re just generally-”
“A bitch?” You interrupted.
“... Uncompromising.” Jack corrected.
“Oh yeah sure...” You said. “You know what? Let ‘em talk, Jack. I don’t have anything to hide! I couldn’t give less of a damn if they were found or gone forever. If they’re found – goodie. Whooptie fucking do. If they’re gone? Also good because I don’t wanna see their sorry asses anyway!”
You go to march off the docks but he sidesteps you.
“Hey- Y/N, stop.” He said.
“Bye Jack.” You bumped past him.
“Y/N-”
You waved a dismissive hand at him, heading back to the main campgrounds.
---
It’s nightfall.
The other groups of counselors have just come back from a fruitless search. The kids have been resigned to their cabins since seven in the evening, now having a curfew to prevent further disappearances. You, however, stay right where you are. You pull out another stick of gum and pop it in your mouth. The sugar sweetness turns bitter when your fellow counselors cast scornful looks your way. Even Shaun, whom you’d grown to be good buddies with since summer started, avoided your gaze.
They aren’t even a few feet away from you when Shaun decides now is the best time to boost morale. “We’ve had a long day… what do you guys say to a movie night?” He said, a good natured lilt in his voice.
The counselors clamor around him, humming in agreement. You don’t miss the wary glances casted your way and hushed whispers about what to do about you, as if not getting an invitation would cause you to drop in and ruin their good time. Which in all honesty, wasn’t a bad idea.
“We aren’t going to invite her, right?”
“It’d be alright to ask,”
“But do we have to?!”
Exaggeratedly, you checked your nails and attempted to drown out their whispers by chewing your gum harshly. Before you knew it though, someone came up beside you. Nick Hererras. Oh boy.
Nick was an emo guy who had some kind of influencer page on Twitch or Youtube. He had an obvious crush on you and while he was cute in his own right, his sullen and heartsick vibe around you was somewhat of a downer, especially in contrast to how easygoing he’d be around others.
Nick rubbed the back of his neck, “Hey…”
“Hey,” You replied casually.
“...It was kind of a long search today.”
“You must be tired.”
“Yeah,” He chuckled softly, “I-it was a lot.” You hum curtly. He wets his lips, picking up that he’s losing your attention before even getting it. “We- we’re having a movie night! Shaun’s hosting so… typical horror bullshit. Slashers and all… Maybe you’d like to come… a-and join us?”
You look past him and at the group of counselors. Many of them shift uncomfortably and scrunch their faces up in discomfort, obviously displeased Nick went to invite you. The fact that they don’t even hide their disdain makes your ears burn hot. You shoot up from the steps and start towards the docks, “Nah, I’ll be fine. Thanks for the invitation.” You bite out.
Nick’s weak protests could be heard. Some of the counselors sighed in relief.
“Thank God.”
“Well, we tried.”
---
“Goddamn…motherfucking-”
You roughly shucked off your pants and pulled off your shirt. The force of their removal from your body could have very well ripped them but you didn’t care. Your skin was burning with anger, embarrassment, and everything in between. With added frustration you hurriedly tore off your underclothes before taking a running start across the docks. The wind blew through your hair, though it did nothing to cool your skin; you wouldn’t be pacified until you were in the water.
Upon reaching the edge of the dock, you leapt off the wood as easily as you would a catapult. You flew through the air hands out before pulling them in along with your feet, the aerodynamics of your form caused you to flip over twice and land in the water with a big splash. The force of your dive pushed out the surrounding water, shooting it up around you. It fell in droplets on your skin as you rose to the surface.
You sigh, wading on your back and letting the water carry you for a while.
These past few weeks have been hell. Nevermind the ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend eloping to god-knows-where, or that the head counselor had suddenly gone AWOL – but to think you were actually being suspected of murder? Jack might’ve not said those exact words but it was obvious enough what he was implying.
Your mood sours when the mascot comes to mind; even more so when you remember the garden behind the shed.
“He’s so stupid…” You hiss. He so obviously still harbored feelings for Skylars’ trifling ass. And why that made you so ornery you couldn’t figure it out; it’s not like he owes you his allyship due to Skylars’ actions. But you didn’t understand how anyone could still like someone willing to do something so shitty. But then again, you often had your own well-being in mind and if someone proved a threat to that, it was pretty easy for you to cut them from your life completely. You’ve lost a lot of potential friends in the past because of that, and you assumed Ian would’ve been different. But in the long run he proved to be no different than the rest…
Snap.
Your head shot up as you peered out into the darkness. “Hello?” You called out. The woods responded with silence. Thinking it was the kids you called out, “If there’s any campers out there, go back to the cabins – it’s past curfew!”
Silence. Then the subtle crunch of branches beneath footwear.
“Y/N?” Jack’s soft voice called out to you before he emerged from the trees. He wasn’t in his usual costume of the big blue foamy jacket and brown pants with garish primary colored shoes. He now wore a tight white tee that hugged his muscular frame, with a pair of gym shorts. He still had on the makeup, though, probably having forgotten to wash it off.
Your ears burned hot as you realized he’d be one of the first to see you like this: swimming in the buck. Subconsciously, you folded your arms over your chest as he approached the lake.
“Y/N, why are you all the way out here?” Jack asked, “It’s not smart to separate yourself from the other counselors.”
Your initial shyness depletes when he mentions the other counselors. “You should tell them that, they’re the ones separating themselves.”
“What do you mean?”
“Shaun’s hosting some stupid movie night and no one wants me there.” You said.
Jack blinked in surprise, “Shaun? But he’s one of the nicest counselors here.”
“Well, Nick tried… to extend the invitation, I guess. But it’s not like I wanted to go anyway. Horror movies…” You scoffed, “they’re so dumb. And it’s all Shaun watches!”
Jack sighs, “Still, you should stay close to the camp. I dunno what I’d do if another counselor went missing…”
A smirk broke out on your face as you swam up to the boardwalk, placing your hands on the wooden edge as you looked up at him. “Oh? And what would you do, Jack?”
Your sudden change in demeanor caused him to blush bright red, “I-It’s not like that!” He exclaimed, “I mean, I just want you to be safe!”
“Aww. Look at you, worried about lil’ ol’ me!” You cooed.
“Y/N, you-” He paused, finally getting a better look at you in the moonlight. It shone off your wet skin and hair, giving you the feel of some kind of siren, especially with that seductive look on your face. His eyes were drawn to your neck and shoulders, which seemed not to be covered by anything. And then he spotted your clothes…
“God, Y/N! Are you seriously skinny dipping right now?!” Jack exclaimed.
You immediately clutched your shoulders, but you start cackling, not really finding it in you to feel guilty like before.
“Eeeyup! Care to join me?”

With the camp AU, you said Jack and Davey get together partway through week one but the campers think they hate each other. Did they get off on the wrong foot during staff training and then decide to keep pretending to hate each other when campers are around, or did they just create this rivalry/fake hatred because they thought it would be funny?
link to original au post!
omg okay i definitely think that they would have had some tension during training. jack makes silly comments and jokes throughout, which the supervisors laugh at, and so do all of the other counselors- but david doesn’t think it’s funny, not when they have to pay attention to this or they could lose their jobs later on. i think they might have a little argument or two, and the first day of camp one is kind of off for them- maybe jack asks davey how to do something and davey pops off with, “well, if you weren’t fucking around during training, you’d know.”
and i think davey would hate him all day, but at the staff debrief that night- really late, because the campers didn’t get dismissed to go to their cabins until ten-thirty- jack would come up to david during a break and sincerely apologize for goofing off. they start talking a little and davey finds out that jack just talks a lot when he’s nervous, and all of the jokes were a manifestation of that; david has to remember, after all, that jack has never been to this camp as a camper, while most other counselors have. he’s a little in over his head.
that night, they just sit and chat for a while after they’re dismissed to go to the counselor cabins, and the next day, davey is mean to jack again, but in a joking way. teasing him, laughing at him, and jack does it right back— and thus, the rivalry is born.
i also think they’re the kind of people to talk under the tree by the carpetball boxes and be laughing and smiling at each other, but if one of their campers come by and laugh at them because they knew jack and david didn’t hate each other, jack and davey would just deadpan and go: “no, actually, i hate his guts.” “i hate him too. he’s a despicable person.” “he’s not fun to be around at all. and he smells.” “he’s just a loser jerk and he shouldn’t be trusted.” but they say it in a way that doesn sound real at all, and the campers really get a kick out of it!
i think by the third night they have their first kiss, because they’re young and impulsive and it’s not like they’re ever going to see each other after the summer, so what’s the harm in having fun? but “fun” turns into a relationship and a relationship turns to a very teary goodbye at the last camp session.
so to answer the question: they have a rough start, but the rivalry is mainly a funny little thing they do to pass the time!
