Hey all, despite my hissy fit earlier this month, tumblr is the only place that I can do a poll and I need ask a few questions about people buying comics at conventions. I was vendoring recently and realized that people were hesitant to buy physical comics- and it wasn't just at my booth. So I'd like to see if there's something I can do to make a physical comic more appealing.

I didn't get many photos, since I was barely at the con and was working while I was there, but here is my entire #sanjapan2022 cosplay photo dump. Of course, had to get the great Snufkin & Snork Maiden from Moomin, Umi Ryuzaki (best! girl!) from Magic Knight Rayearth, fantastic Kerberos Panzer Cop from Jin-Roh, the Valkyrie unit (Mika & Shu) from Ensemble Stars who did an AMAZING skit performance, and an outtake of @kyle.belmont as Ya Boy Kong Ming. It was so fun to help fetch water for cosplayers and see the show (and closet cosplay a little!), though I don't think I am ready for a full con experience again yet. Kinda did a last minute con yesterday, probably the last for 2022, and I did the contest. I find competing fun, even if the stage part is kinda out of my comfort zone. This contest was all showmanship, so VERY out of my comfort zone. It’s fine. It’s a skill to learn.

Anyway, the categories were a little weird and I was competing as a male hero, because I was Link. There was also like an 8 or 9 year old boy dressed as a different Link and he was very excited to not be the only one, so we kinda bonded. Like, he kept stretching his sword out to mine, and doing the kid thing where they run up and run away. I don’t remember doing this behavior as a kid (I was probably too shy) but I really find it endearing.

Once things were over, I asked him if it was ok if we got a photo together and he very enthusiastically responded YES.

Me: is it ok with your mom?

Him: YES

Mom (who is right there): YOU HAVE TO ASK

Him: blinks

Well, we got a cute selfie that I’m not sharing as I didn’t ask to put it online and id be thrilled to run across this family again.
