One thing that striked me about the cinematography in Halloween Ends was the continued use of a Iris mask when inside the sewer. I still don’t particularly like the movie, but I thought it was an interesting way to have Cory and Michael meet. Circles are sometimes represented as being symbolism for the self. The soundtrack for this section is called “The Cave” which immediately made me think about Plato’s allegory of the cave. If we go off of Plato’s allegory, Cory is effectively rejecting his reality for the fiction that is Michael’s “reality” in the cave. Media studies fucking LOVES Freudian analysis, and I could probably wax poetic about it here as well with a little thought, but I like this angle more. The thing most important about the cave allegory is that Jeremy’s father says it himself: Cory is not a killer. What happened with Jeremy was a horrible accident. What Cory sees in Michael is presumably (the illusion of) strength, this is perhaps a bit ironic since the movie makes Michael look like he’s about to keel over compared to his depiction in Kills. Regardless, Michael is the archetype that Cory is seeking to take over by claiming revenge on the town that sees him as no better than Michael Myers, despite the fact their circumstances are wildly different.

Not really "Halloween Ends" spoilers but kinda. Just a quick rant a bit.

I'm not qualified to do a Horror movie review. I'll piss people off and it'll turn into a rant more then a review but I'd like to say one thing...

Yes I'm a fan girl but I never been one to fall for the killer of a horror movie or any guy for that matter with this genre because I appreciate a horror movies for its gore, kills, and story line not for the faces but I'll will say Halloween Ends broke that tradition.

I think Corey is cute yes, but I think there was more to his story that I think would have been really interesting. I found it different that Michael Myers spared his life while also destroying it. I'm not saying I'm simping for him but I fine this character adorable and interesting.

Ok so I kinda had a hard time writing this and idk why but like I hope you still enjoy it anon. I love the idea of Michael and Cory like dating someone together. Maybe it's just the polyamory in me but I might wanna write more about this in the future.

I feel like for the getting in trouble aspect depending on what kind of trouble you're in it'll be taken care of. Obviously if you get arrested Corey will bail you out. But if something you do leads to a fight Michael will most likely take care of it for you.

As for how this relationship came to be, Corey introduced you to Michael and Michael was just kinda whatever about it. He thinks not killing you is already a lot from him so for the first few months of knowing you he'll probably just kinda ignore you or not do much with you.

But when you and Corey move in together Michael will be seeing you a lot more and will take interest in your strange activities. He'll often just watch from outside your house or if you invite him inside.

Corey will probably join you more often depending on what you're doing but I feel like Michael might join in a few times too. Like if you express to Corey that you wanna make some animal bone jewelry Michael will probably get you some.

Corey will be more hands on with your projects than Michael. Like Michael will mostly watch and sometimes steal materials for you to use but Corey will be the one helping you make your own disco ball for your dining room.

If anyone makes rude comments or harasses you based on whatever you're doing they'll be dealt with by Corey and Michael. It's only ok when Michael makes glances at your attempt at taxidermy of a raccoon or when Corey tells you that maybe you should put the hammer down.

Those are Just mostly my thoughts about characters, stuff they did and overall movie :)

Guys I was so annoyed by Allison??? Like she knew that this guy(I dont remeber his name i was calling him Corgy for the whole movie) was a murderer, he told her that!!! And she still was like 🥺meow ( imean tbh if some hot serial killer would date me i wouldnt snitch to police too) BUT LIKE ALLISON GRANMA WAS LIVING IN HELL FOR LAST 40YEARS AND SHE DARES TO SAY THAT THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS HER FAULT???? I get if she would fell in love with Corgy and her granma wasnt Laurie fucking Strode but like??? She saw what this years of sufferning did to Laurie and now shes Just dating serial killer?? The lack of brain AND empathy. Tbh I liked Corgy character for first 3/4 of movie because he was turned from cute meowmeow Dwight from dbd ass to 😈ur son calls me daddy too😈 and he litteraly befriended the big bad Miguel Myers. It all went downhill when he decided to betray his bestie (micheal) and kick drop him to floor :(

Laurie Strode:10/10 my grandma queen, bonus 1point for reminding me of my granma, also she tried giving Corgy a chance and to forgive Myers for his evil phase. Of course she had her weird noments but overall very good final girl material

Its currently 11:30 AM, and you both were currently on the couch, having a marathon of the listed youtubers, CoryxKenshin, Berleezy, deb smikle, onyebabyy, naasir void, MARTIN, and jordan cunningham. Currently, Cory was playing through Poppy Playtime (The first part, Cory fans tap in).

Realizing that they have never made anything in celebration of the christmas season, AND it was cold outside, Osamu had the splendid Idea to go and do a christmas food run-through

“But what do you mean by run-through? Like watch stuff about Christmas food?”

“Nah, I’m gonna find the most Christmas food possible, and we’re gonna make all of it. All. of. it.”

Hello hello! Just stopping by to hear a little about whichever WIP(s) you want to share about! What do you hope readers pick up on from your WIP? What do you hope is their favorite aspect of it?

Since a lot of what I'm working on is dependent on things that came before, I'm hoping that people pick up on the smaller threads running between them and consistent little character beats and references.

For example, I'm running a Lake Wonder game called Slime Time that takes place from March 11th, 2023 and has currently stretched on in-canon to the 15th or 16th of that month while the Seltzie Boys deal with a thawing UFO and Ernest's dad hitting him with a car. This takes place simultaneously to PP2, which starts the night before with Tiff and Denny (and Andy, secretly) setting out for Pine Valley. In one of Tiff's early chapters, I drop this line:

[Ivan Cunningham], admittedly, was acting kind of odd when she saw him earlier today, like he wasn’t quite himself.

This is a reference to something the Seltzie Boys found out when they set off the sprinklers at the high school: Ivan Cunningham has been replaced by a goo version of himself. So, it's mostly things like that-- little nods to other events that happened, be it by direct knowledge or some in-character speculation.

Other times, the big thing is repeated phrases and motifs leaking from character to character. Tiff repeating "the only way out is through" comes back up from its Unholy Water days to both her and Denny, especially because Denny gives it as advice later on; but it also mixes with a sentiment from Esther that's evolved from a point in Tiff's worldview, that being:

This is, of course, inherently linked to this same sentiment but in a different form. Between the two of them, it's "Things are going to work out because they have to (I do not have another choice)" versus "things are going to work because we're going to make them work," and these bleed in and out of each other.

Plus, I have little points of imagery and description I put in to signal other things. Like, each character has certain imagery I put in over and over again. For Tiff, it's conspiracy boards, things that inexplicably glow, and stars; Bloodsaw is steam, stigmata, dirt in your mouth; Kay has bone thorns, bats, and (even pre-parasite) a description of "something gnawing" in her stomach; Duckie has her pigs, clowns, and fucked-up senses; Cory constantly refers to music (both pop culture reference and comparison to instruments); and Denny has a recurring line of "teeth suddenly too sharp" (and feeling her heart in her teeth) and references to protective roles. So, when they're having moments that are supposed to ring with the bells of someone else, I'll intentionally pull in imagery from said person in the hopes of invoking them on a subtextual level.

For example, when Denny is standing out on the back porch in PP2 after Tiff takes on the parasite and things go incredibly wrong (to the point of, gasp, characters being vulnerable), we get a couple references to stargazing and we get this moment:

This is something we get at the same time that we're invoking Kay motifs for Tiff because of the decision she made-- not hungering for normal food, stepping out into the snow, and the concept of eating in general. Like, I pulled it in intentionally-- this lack of appetite that suddenly sparks back into being the moment you're faced with something you shouldn't be eating (like, say, a dead clown. Or an uncooked rabbit. Or a decomposing deer).

Honestly, like-- the fact that Kay really doesn't like meat is another little peppered-in thing and I'm not sure how obvious it is, since we haven't spent much time with her. It isn't as present as, say, Tiff's sleep issues or Denny's extensive CD collection.
