DR2 Characters Cheering You Up

A/N: Made some of these for the first game (you can find them here and here) and I'm finally halfway into the second game, so thought it was time I made some more. This first one will, like last time, be all my favourite characters but if you want to request others feel free to and I'll happily do my best!!! As I said, I haven't finished the games so these may be a little off personality wise. Anyway, Enjoy!

Ibuki Mioda

Ibuki is always cheerful and excited, that's just who she is and it's a large part of the reason the two of you get along

If she notices you're upset, she will try and cheer you up by being a little goofy! She might make silly faces or dance around the room (pulling you with her)

She might even write you a silly little improvised song (and yes she will make it heavy metalesque just for shits and giggles)

If you want to talk to her about what's bothering you, she'll sit and listen but if not she has a million ways to get your mind off of it

She will hug if you ask/want her to

Nagito Komaeda

Nagito gets uncomfortable when other people are upset around him, not intentionally or because he's a jerk, but he just doesn't understand how to help

He would probably ask you, though, if there's anything he can do

He would hug if you asked him to, but he won't initiate the hug

"Maybe we should go see Hajime or one of the girls, they'd definitely know how to handle this better..."

He will do his best though, because he does care about you and wants to show that. (Even if he does think he's a little useless)

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu

Fuyuhiko seems like the type of guy who would like offer to beat whoever/whatever made you upset for you

He would hug you but like he'd definitely be awkward about it because he wouldn't want anyone to see (it would ruin his tough guy image)

You would definitely tell him no hurting whatever it is that made you upset and he would definitely overrule that by telling Peko to do it anyway when you're not paying attention

He would buy you something just to make you smile and see you cheer up even a little

Gundham Tanaka

Gundham is surprisingly in tune with other people's emotions

If he senses you're upset, he may not immediately offer to talk about it or say anything, but he will offer a shoulder to cry on

Might try cheering you up with the Devas, unless you make it clear you want to be alone

He will respect your space, but that doesn't mean he won't worry about you constantly

He probably won't hug you, but if you hug him, he'll hug back

Sonia Nevermind

Sonia may be a little surprised if she finds you upset, but she will immediately jump into action

She has been prepared for this, she's read so many books on how to cheer people up and she will attempt to recreate what she's read for you

It might cheer you up simply seeing her run around grabbing things for you and doing things for you

Hugs, blankets, soft things, movies

She will make sure nobody else bothers you until you're feeling better too!

yall..im workin hard on the last part of fbrc rn....BUUUUUTTT--

i thought of childhood friend (im sorry i cant help it) bodyguard katsuki being hopelessly devoted to big boss' daughter reader.

let's say the environment he grew up in wasn't good at all. he lived in a horrible neighborhood that had a survival of the fittest mentality. he had to rob n steal and fight to survive. and them maybe he got recruited by some crime syndicate who saw his potential from a young age.

he feels indebted to them cus they got him out the streets, so he decides to devote his entire life to this syndicate and his boss, who just so happens to have a child : you.

you're the same age as him, maybe a year younger. his first thought is that you're a pushover. you hide behind your father the whole time he's introducing you to him and you barely even look at him, but he's been told he has a bit of a stink eye because he's just sorta used to glaring at people.

as your father keeps introducing you both your eyes widen at him saying katsuki will become your new best friend. yours out of joy cus you've always been sheltered and you've never really had friends your age before, and katsuki's out of shock. he thought he was here to kick people's asses, not babysit some random girl !

when your father pulls katsuki aside later that day he explains that since he's a very dangerous man other dangerous people will try to endanger not only him but his family and since he's strong he'd like him to watch over you. katsuki doesn't like it, but your dad did save him from his life on the street, so he can play nice for now.

he's never had friends either, so he doesn't know how to play like other kids do, and definetly not like you do.

you have him follow you around calling him your knight, you stick stupid clips in his hair and get all pouty when he won't let you put that pastey makeup shit on his face. you have him kiss your ouchies away when you trip over your own shadow and you whine and whine until he let's you jump on his back to give you a piggy back ride.

though, the more he spends time with you, the more there are fun moments. he hates to admit it but it's fun to be a kid with you. you play games that he likes to play and you share your cookies with him and he carries you around and plays dolls with you in exchange. he kisses your ouchies away and you put a cool bandage over his cheek when he's done training for the day and press a big get better kiss on it. you tell him it's to energize him and he huffs and puffs about it but he always looks forward to his kiss after training.

you've complained to him about how you can't spend much time with your dad since he's always out working, you don't have friends because everyone is a threat and you're always being surveyed and watched from a distance and you cry and say you hate it. you tell him that he's your fifth body guard and that he's your favorite one by far. you smile at him and the apples of his cheeks burn, he tries but can't supress the proud smile that grows on his face "of course i am, i'm the best !"

he's been your favorite and last body guard since that day because katsuki has made it his life's mission to devote himself to his clan, his boss and most of all, you.

Kokichi

This little...well at first like anyone else he would trick and play pranks on you. When he first played a prank on you he expected you to be confused or annoyed. He well...he didn't think you would end up crying because of the prank.

Because of this, he ended up feeling pretty guilty about it. So pranks were something he wouldn't do to you. Well, he'd still prank Miu, Gonta, Shuichi, and the others.

So instead he'd tease you! Not nearly as bad as a prank so this would be fine right? Well, it seems not you'd also get upset from the teasing as well. What a horrible boyfriend always making you cry smh. 🙄

But over time he'd come to realize this was just how you were and to keep the pranks and teasing to a minimum or stop all altogether if that's what you wanted. However, in his heart he couldn't stop teasing you he just had to see your cute flustered face!

I feel like Kokichi would at first act annoyed by how clingy you are. But in truth, he loves it oh so much. He loves how you feel comfortable and safe to hold hands and hug him.

In truth, it probably also made him a little overprotective of you. But seeing your smile and just the fact you've stuck with him. Means the world to him and he wants nothing more for you to be safe and happy.

Nagito

"Huh? Why would want to hug trash like me?" This mf I swear it never stops with him 🙄. He knows you're clingy but he still doesn't understand as he puts it to hug. "Trash like me."

(Tbh he should know the answer because he's your boyfriend!) Even though Nagito says things like this he loves how clingy you are with him. Plus in my opinion, he'd be great to cuddle with just look at that hair! It's so soft!

I feel like if you don't see Nagito for a while or if he's with his friends. You can get pretty jealous and even more clingy! If he is talking with someone you'll go up and hug him from behind.

Honestly, if you were to cry or ever feel insecure Nagito wouldn't allow you to feel that way for long. You're his S/O you're amazing and are such a great person! He'll love you no matter what so don't be afraid to tell him anything.

In his eyes, you're an angel and he thanks his luck he was able to be with you. If you ever are feeling down have no fear Nagito is here! He wants you to be happy so if you're feeling down he can be just as clingy!

the v3 EN localization was kind of unforgivably wonky but

the EN dub cast is SO funny and interesting:

Shuichi was Leon

Kaede was Kyoko

Tsumugi was Sayaka (and Chihiro)

Himiko was Chiaki

Korekiyo was Teruteru

most famously, Kokichi was Fuyuhiko

& lots more.

there's even meta jokes, like the fact Kaito was based on Kamina Gurren Lagann and his voice was actual EN Kamina (also Kazuichi), or that Kirumi looks suspiciously like 2B Nier Automata and her voice is indeed 2B Nier Automata (also Hiyoko).

a lot of this was likely Intentional, because it's too perfect otherwise. fits with the reality-bending nature of the game (at least at the beginning: i'm not Done with it yet).

Well, I didn't have the mood to draw fantasy au for a long time. But at least I made two more designs.👏 And I drew a portrait with only one of them-

In any case, I present to your attention my version of Chiaki and Usami in fantasy au! Chiaki is a simple adventurer who belongs to a guild with a desire to see the world. One day she happened to meet a strange fluffy creature who called herself the greatest sorceress of the century. However, no one in the world knows about it, for some reason. Usami was indeed a powerful sorceress in the past, but she was cursed. So she's locked up in the shape of a flying fluffy thing, and no one remembers her exploits. However, Chiaki, having concluded a contract with Usami, became able to temporarily take over the curse on herself, which allows Usami to take human form and fight. So they joined the guild together to break the curse of the Usami and travel through the magical world.

→ “ … that’s the point. ” you offered back as you lifted off his neck , nagito finding that you’d left three more marks on the same side. you moved to the other part of his neck and added five there.

→ you pulled down his collar to fully expose his collarbone and some parts under to explore as well. “ if you’re not going to do anything to the situation at hand , then i’m going to have to break you to make sure everyone understands. meet me , my room , right after classes. got it? ”

→ he nodded before you pushed for words to confirm. “ … got it. ” his voice came out strained and tired.

♡ While he was never the most social person to begin with, Nagito definitely withdraws himself from you.

♡ He stares at you for a little while whenever he sees you, sometimes unintentionally, sometimes not, but does not tend to say much; if not, anything. He just watches.

♡ Conversations with him definitely become awkward. He seems almost…hesitant to speak to you?

♡ It’s not that he’s trying to reverse his feelings because he doesn’t like you, rather it’s because he doesn’t feel worthy enough TO like you.

♡ Yet, he comes to realise, he does. He can’t help it, but he loves you.

♡ You make him feel so peaceful, so comfortable, and all that he can handle in himself.

♡ But for you to like him…? The possibility alone startles him.

♡ He doesn’t believe he’s worthy to be the one to capture your affections. He doesn’t feel he deserves it. After all, to him, you could have so much more.

♡ So he feels as if he’s somehow…manipulated you? It’s so ridiculous, but to him it’s a serious fear.

♡ He feels guilty for not talking to you as much, but would always treat you with soft kindness regardless. For example, if you were to see him in the street, he would definitely smile at you. If you were to text him, he would always check it, always. He’d always make the effort to listen to you talk, for example if you were both spending time with a mutual friend group, even though he’s not really engaging with you as much as he did before.

♡ So, it’s really all very confusing for the both of you!

♡ He tends to zone out and think about you, trying desperately to shrug off those thoughts. He tries to push them away into the corners of his mind, telling himself you’re not that dear.

♡ But even Nagito knows that’s not true…

♡ You’d most likely have to be the one to break this newfound tension, but if you were to approach him on the matter, Nagito would most likely come clean with his reasons.

♡ It’s a very easy layer of ice to break, but until that happens, Nagito’s frosted himself inside his head; just him and his thoughts.

꩜SHUICHI SAIHARA꩜:

♡ Oh, bless him…

♡ It takes a month or so for him to realise his feelings, piecing together situations to use as examples as he goes, but once he realises, Shuichi is actually relatively calm with the acceptance stage.

♡ He’s a detective, so he’s rather logical as it is, so it isn’t too much of a surprise to him once he realises. He’s likely to have started realising within those first two months, but now that he’s finally fully aware; it’s just not as intimidating.

♡ “O-oh, that…that makes sense.”

♡ But then, he sees you again, whether it be a social media post, a text, or through physical interaction, and his mood towards his feelings is suddenly completely torn apart.

♡ Something about seeing you again after he becomes aware prompts him into a panicked spiral.

♡ He realises that these are legitimate feelings he has for you, and that they WILL be an issue.

♡ Not necessarily a grave issue, he’s so grateful to have you in his life; platonic or not!

♡ But, for his poor little mind, they’re a MASSIVE transition.

♡ Shuichi doesn’t fall in love a lot. He’s likely to have had the few odd crushes, maybe a partner once before, whatever you believe he’d have, but these feelings are…

♡ He just knows these are too many feelings for him to bare.

♡ Does NOT know how to deal with you after this.

♡ You could smile in his direction for a second and all of a sudden he’s a warm blushing mess, eyes looking at anything but you.

♡ God forbid you talk to him, because it will send him into a wobbling stutter. His legs feel light and he can hardly get his words out as he talks. Despite this, Shuichi WANTS to spend time with you. He probably has suggested going out to a place such as the library, or maybe for a quiet walk. Maybe he takes you out with his friends, eases the tension while still being able to spend time with you!

♡ Actively looks for you in the crowd, then shies away when he sees you.

♡ He’s likely to go through this realisation alone. I doubt he’d find the confidence to talk to his friends, but I think they’d figure it out through acknowledging the way he acts around you.

♡ Then, once they start encouraging him to speak up, he’d realise there’s a chance (which to him seems to feel like a 95% chance) that you won’t return his feelings; which terrifies him. He wants you in his life romantic or platonic, but the idea of telling you and ruining your bond horrifies him.

♡It would probably take Shuichi another month or two before he finally confronted his feelings head on and confessed them.

♡ But, for now, he’s just going to admire you from the safe distance of your friendship.

꩜KIYOTAKA ISHIMARU꩜:

♡ This has NEVER happened before.

♡ He does NOT know what to do.

♡ It takes Ishimaru a long time to discover these feelings for you.

♡ He’s never been in love before, so he’s unaware of everything. It’s all brand new to him, which adds to the anxiety even more!

♡ At first, he just thinks he’s intimidated by you. The way you make his chest tighten, the way you make his stomach flip, the way he seems to simultaneously be both afraid of you but also deeply entranced by you…

♡ He just assumes he’s threatened by you at first.

♡ Then, he remembers how pleasant he finds talking to you; even if you don’t have the most similar morals to him. There’s something so freeing about spending time with you, that it makes him doubt the idea of intimidation.

♡ Then, he moves on to assuming he just REALLY wants to be your friend.

♡ Eventually he gets fed up of feeling the ways he does, to the point of tears, so he goes to the two people he knows he’s happy to be friends with.

♡ Mondo and Chihiro.

♡ They help him realise that he doesn’t get those feelings with them, which prompts Ishimaru to question what could be causing them.

♡ He’s determined to find a root cause and, thanks to both Mondo and Chihiro, eventually he does.

♡ …

♡ He does not sleep for days after that.

♡ He just stares up at the ceiling, completely unsure of how to comprehend the situation.

♡ No matter where he is in life, he’s told himself romance is a serious distraction!

♡ But oh…

♡ Oh, you.

♡ You’re really spinning him out!!

♡ Tries so hard to be normal with you, but it’s obvious something’s going on!

♡ He’s too nervous to even TRY talking to you about his feelings, terrified for the outcome.

♡ He’ll come to get over that, deciding it’s better to just get it over with, but it’ll take a while…

♡ He just needs to let these feelings simmer for a while.

♡ Ishimaru definitely checks in on you constantly, regardless of where you may be, encouraging you to try your very best and that he’s proud of your efforts.

♡ Probably tries to host a meet-up with you under the guise of a “check-up”, but that’s just an excuse to see you.

♡ This is usually via emails, because I personally imagine Ishimaru is the type to use emails rather than average texting apps.

♡ Also, just because you actually take the time to check your emails for him.

♡ That’s something he’s always appreciated, just as he appreciates you.

♡ He does not appreciate the panic these feelings are causing him, though!

Nagito, kokichi, kiibo, fuyuhiko, rantaro, with an s/o who comes across as very stoic (like kirigiri) but when it comes to physical affection gets really red in the face? Even with friends they just get embarrassed and just aren’t used to it.

Nagito doesn’t mind if you get a bit red! He of course always asks before he can put his filthy hands on you, but he always loves seeing how flustered you get! He comes to the conclusion rather quickly you’re like that with everyone, and that he’s nothing special. Still makes him super happy though. He wonders if you grew up with not getting affection, maybe that’s why you get so embarrassed!

Kokichi will definitely tease you for this, ��D’aww you’re blushing! How adorable!!” and he will tease you for it everytime. He does get a little jealous though that you blush when others hug you as well, but he’s good at hiding it! He just thinks it’s so funny how somebody like you can get so embarrassed by stuff like that.

Kiibo is similar, he gets very flustered by physical affection since he does not receive it often. This includes with anyone else, so he doesn’t judge you for being the same way. He usually asks before he can be affectionate with you, and you’re both absolute blushy messes by the end of it.

Fuyuhiko is pretty similar, he gets embarrassed by souda and peko smothering him, and even when hiyoko teasingly pinches his cheeks. He gets it and doesn’t care much? He secretly thinks it’s cute though, since it’s rare to see you give away how you really feel. He always takes it in and stares for a bit.

Rantaro is a smart guy, but even he can almost never be able to read you. So he just really loves it whenever you blush, it’s the one time he knows what you’re feeling and sees you being vulnerable. He thinks it’s really cute how anyone could simply grab your hand or throw an arm around your shoulder and you’re a complete mess. For him, it’s a nice change of pace.
