ash/rym as a ship is genuinely starting to frustrate me. taking the tiniest crumbs of flirting and orym's kindness and empathy that he'd give to anybody and taking it as proof that they're canon but bashing callow/moore and treating every single bad fan of the ship as indicative of the badness of the ship itself. and how people ONLY started insisting fearne was aro when she started gaining more romantic feelings towards ashton. because apparently her whole thing with chetney was a joke and they don't actually care about each other on a deeper level. sure.

"STAY BACK, FOUL DEMON!" you shout as you throw the empty bottle at the disturbing entity.

All the while, still in your drunken stupor you fall to the floor, hitting the ground with a loud thud. And while horrified, you still decide to look up at the monstrosity before you.

You have never seen something so grotesque in your whole entire life before!

....and you've seen some things.....

This has to an alcohol induced hallucination! There's no other explanation!

....Well... there is another explanation... but you'd rather not think of that one.

Your thoughts are suddenly interrupted by the creature opening it's mouth.

Oh...

OH NO!

Is it going to kill you?! Is it going to let out the most horrific screech you have ever heard before lounging at you!?

Then, the entity grabs your arm in an effort to lift you up, making you look straight at it's face.

"On your feet! How am I supposed to train you if you keep sitting on the fl-" but in your disoriented state you cut the demon off.

"Bambi's DAD!?!??!" Damn... Bambi's dad had a downgrade.

"...." the creature was too stunned to speak.

"....Did I say something wrong...?" you question.

With a heavy sigh and an exasperated expression, the demon begins explaining:

"I do not want your soul. You will pay me for my services by following my training regime. Is that understood?"

"...Did no one in hell want to follow your training regime...?"

"That- that's not true!!!!" the demon rebuffs.

"Ooh?~ Did I hit a nerve?~" you jeer.

"THAT'S IT! 100 PUSHUPS AND 100 SQUATS! AND I WILL NOT HEAR ANOTHER WORD FROM YOU!"

"And what do I get by following your orders?! We haven't even made a proper deal!" you scream at the entity.

"I will not leave until I am satisfied with your progress! I am the best personal trainer you could ever ask for!"

"Well, are you going to pay rent then?!"

Not that anyone who’s been complaining about FCG supposedly not caring about Ashton or whatever actually cares about FCG’s characterization, but for the record: FCG doesn’t typically talk about things that upset them without outside prompting. They didn’t talk about missing or mourning Dancer without someone else bringing her or something related to her up ever and even when they did talk about her, they usually brushed their own feelings to the side after a second. He’s gotten better about expressing himself a little bit, but usually in a “I am feeling bad in a way that might make me literally attack you all, so be aware of that!” sort of way.

It doesn’t matter how much or how little he misses Ashton, FCG was never going to be spending a lot of time vocally expressing that.

#especially given Imogen and Laudna's relationship #chet fearne and fcg all spent an amount of time deferring to Imogen's emotions about Laudna #because they have seen first hand how she kind of falls apart without her #fcg wasn't gonna talk to or around Imogen about his own feelings of missing anyone except in a commiserating sort of way #but yeah #fcg does like and care about Ashton #obviously if you pay any attention to their interactions #BUT they are not close #Ashton doesn't confide in FCG and tends to handle them with kid gloves almost #it's telling that they went to Laudna to complain about what they perceive as FCG behaving badly #but have never made any attempt to talk to FCG themself about it #he just kinda seems to try and gently nudge FCG towards behaviors he approves of without taking the time to explain his feelings #or ask FCG to explain why they behave the way they do #it's interesting! #genuinely #i just think people don't care to actually explore their relationship in favor of projecting either a more intimate friendship #or demonizing FCG for existing for their own sake and not just to feed the audience blorbo crumbs #just kinda venting
