What's your favourite Disney movie? And does your preference for the dorms have any influence on their movies and vice versa? Like I know you love Diasomnia so is Sleeping Beauty high up there for you?
I'm just asking because Snow White is actually my favourite Disney Princess and her movie is my favourite yet Pomefiore is my least favourite dorm (but Lion King and Savanaclaw are both in my top two) and I was wondering if it's similar for you?
yessss someone else whose favorite princess is Snow! ❄️
that said, it's hard to say what my favorite movie is, because I'm one of those annoying people who's like "well it depends" (on different aspects, on my mood, on the phase of the moon, etc). though out of the ones represented in Twst, I think it probably is Sleeping Beauty! I think it's really pretty and just a delightful movie! it hits a nice sweet spot for me of being kind of...gently grounded while still having that floaty-fairytale feeling, if that makes sense also I might have had a huge villaincrush on Maleficent that is being massively projected onto Meleanor, shh
although I actually sort of hated Diasomnia at first (l-look, they didn't have cards at first and all we had to go on were the website descriptions that make everyone sound horrible). so I dunno, maybe the influence helped win me over to them! or maybe just because, like everything else in Twst, they were unexpectedly enjoyable in practice?
(I don't think there are any that had a negative influence either, because I am also one of those annoying people who's like "well I don't have a least favorite, I like everybody!") (sob. it's true though.) (I just, I just love characters so much --)
Running in to Price (For @deadbranch 100 word challenge.)
The first time you run into John Price, you nearly get a black eye. He’s holding the door open for you when you trip. Instinctively reaching out, he narrowly misses connecting with your rapidly falling head.
You land heavily on your hands and knees, ending up on all fours before him. It would be funny if he wasn’t so concerned, leaning over to help you up with a palm under your elbow.
“Jesus, love, y’alright?”
“Living the dream.” You retort immediately.
Maybe don’t be a sarcastic shit to the handsome man. You’re begging your brain to reconnect with your mouth, immediately.
I wasn't going to post it originally but I realized I don't have any drawings with goemon posted at all (except from that mermaid au one), so here it is.
I made two versions of that meme (both suck but whatever I guess)
It is not okay to speculate whether or not someone is suicidal. If they claim to be, you should 100% take that shit seriously and give them the benefit of the doubt.
That said, if someone is using their own suicidality as a weapon to gain sympathy, emotionally manipulate someone, or to push other people down, GENUINELY fuck that person. While it's not okay for us to doubt that statement just because they're weaponizing it, that also doesn't mean we need to ALLOW that manipulation to convince us of something.
If you feel the need to use your terrible mental health as a step-stool in a conversation to make your side more heard than the other, you need to take a step back and re-evaluate yourself. And I am saying this as someone who ALSO has shit mental health and has been in the trenches with it before. I get it. I understand. But also STOP.
It's tempting to want to save your own ass over recognizing where you've gone wrong, but just a word of advise: recognizing where you've gone wrong WILL save your ass and give you better mental health and wisdom down the line.
However, emotionally manipulating people absolutely will not.
sometimes when i look at siffrin being suspicious due to having a terrible time i have to remind myself that my reaction shouldn't be "i would simply be better at lying" and should instead be somewhere along the lines of telling the truth. but i wouldn't do that
"Stop trying to navigate the path while the forest is dark. You'll most want to try to make changes to your life when you're consumed by emotion, but that's the worst time to do so. Do not make decisions when you're upset. Let yourself come back down to neautral first."
YNYD!Peter/Pyrite!Tony
Peter: --setting him up for it to keep happening, you know that, right? You're the adult here; I know your dad's a jerk and it's not fair but you can't keep using your little brother as a way to--
Tony, stewing in guilt, seconds from taking refuge in audacity and asking Peter if he wants to fuck:

Pyrite!Peter/WL!Tony
Tony: --but it's not appropriate, Petey; I know you love him and he cares about you but that doesn't matter when it comes to stuff like this, okay? It's fine to explore things with kids your own age if you're being safe, but I don't want you to end up hurt when--
Peter, actively acquiring an entirely new flavor of daddy issues every time this sweet supportive smoking hot DILF version of his brother calls him 'Petey':

WL!Peter/YNYD!Tony
Peter: So, um… the other me makes you pretty happy, huh…?
Tony: As a clam.
Peter: What… uh, can I ask-- how does he do it? Like, what are the things he can do that…
Tony: …You know you're asking the wrong version of me that question, right?
Peter: I-- I know, but-- if I asked him he'd just blow me off, like, 'just keep being you, baby,' so--
Tony: Maybe that should tell you something, kid.
Peter: …You really don't have any advice?
Tony, sighing: …He'll be happiest when you're happy. Focus on that first, yeah?
Man, it really sucks that after a certain age, it's not considered socially acceptable/profitable to make edutainment for that demographic.
I haven't followed Thomas Sanders content in years, but I remember being in highschool and how comforted I felt by finding a webseries that talked about about emotions and mental health and moral philosophy in a friendly and straight-to-the-camera way, and the primary fanbase was like???? People my own age.
I just want to be able to turn on the tv and watch the some PBS where the problem of the episode is like complicated conversations with your coworkers or the emotional turmoil of filing government paperwork and there's puppets and the occasional musical number.
