This man is a walking romance novel character in psyker form with how stoic/stiff/but passionate under all that coldness he is. A little crossover inspired by this post from @incomingalbatross (which I recently reblogged). The concept of the last line, coupled with the context of BTTF, just gave me ideas that I had to at least draw.

What if Marty's plans to get his parents back together at the dance failed, and he was erased from existence?

What if he wound up in the place where all the erased people go: the Unknown?

What if he tried to enlist the help of a man who he at first thought was his dearest friend?

things that have made me actually draw again after years of not drawing

getting a tiny shitty notebook with awful thin paper and taking it literally everywhere with me, especially if I'm going somewhere ill be bored

drawing on both sides of the shitty paper so the pen lines dent the page and make it look scrappy and awful

the shittiness of these 2 points is good at reducing "oh this is such a good sketchbook I need to draw something good" paralysis

occasionally intentionally leaving pages with just random bits of tape and shitty smiley faces and stickers so there's already a precedent of "wasted pages" so again I'm not too scared to make mistakes and try shit that will look ugly

never sketching in pencil or anything else that can be erased

specifically, using an orange biro for the rough sketch, pink biro for refined sketch, then black for the final lines

using a money tester pen to block out gestures or poses- they fade to almost transparent within like 20 mins so you still have time to draw the sketch in real pen over it but it doesn't show up in the final drawing

using random word/emoji generators and drawing basic designs based on combos from there

having ocs and being brainweird about them

not caring

#tl;dr shitty notebook forces me not to care about quality and sketching in pen forces me to not agonise for hours erasing and #redrawing the sketch until it looks righr #genuinely if you struggle to get past the sketch stage. sketch in a light coloured biro or something #yes it shows up on the page. but you HAVE to commit #it forces you to stick with what you have and refine it in the next layer rather than starting over

What are your thoughts regarding sentient Death Notes?

Hehehe, I had to draw a diagram~.

Basically this~. I imagine Death Notes have similar inclinations as their original death god owners, acting like an extension of their being. After being owned for a while, their users become able to “hear” them, even human owners. Because of this, some characters learn things sooner. For example, Light finds out that his notebook was stolen from another shinigami right away.

Their mobility is very limited, but I can’t help imagining them trying~. Like an I Am Bread sort of situation, lol. Fruitlessly flapping around and such. But, that’s only if they’re very desperate. Henh, then Light would’ve really had to restrain Rem’s notebook since it shared her distaste for him. In any case, they are quite content to be carried around.

Sidoh’s would want to go home, but it does form a strong bond with Light. Even though it’s happy to be with Sidoh again, it feels very sad that it’s leaving Light behind. It would have the strongest arc out of all of them, even though Gelus’s book sees the end of the story (it would probably be relieved everything was over). Although, does Sidoh’s get stolen again when Ryuk gives a book to Minoru years later…?

Now, I feel bad for any Death Notes that get destroyed. In the Japanese movies, screams are heard when the notebooks get burned…. If they’re found abandoned in the shinigami realm, ideally they are returned to the king to be repurposed or redistributed. Although with Misa and all the gods they cared about dead, Gelus’s and Rem’s notebooks would welcome destruction, assuming they don’t form bonds with anyone else.
