Hi! Know I've been inactive for a bit and that probably isn't gonna change! I have other stuff to say but it'll be in the tags lol

#so im hesitant to say what i wanna say cause i dont wanna be perceived as ungrateful but like #i really wish my non fandom stuff got more attention/love #it sucks cause i know most of you followed me for Undertale/underswap art and junk so it only makes sense that #my more personal art wouldnt be treated in the same way #and im also aware thay regardless of how many followers i have not all of you will see/like/comment/reblog my stuff #and it bothers me that i care so much because i know the culture of social media doesnt cater towards the art community very well #even though art is so so popular #the creators of said art and content just dont get treated in the same way their creations do #and thats really disheartening cause ir feels like i have to constantly improve and one up myself in order to get people attention #like for so many this is their livelihood and to see it so dependant on algorithms is incredibly demoralizing #i dont know #this kinda feels like the only route for me right now since im still in highschool- this feels like the only way ill create connections atm #anyway im only saying this cause i wanna know if anyone else feels similarly? like i feel like such a jackass for thinking all this stuff #but i wanna know if its reasonable line of thinking yknow #thats why i havent been posting very much either. i just hate working so hard on something and feeling so proud and then it feels like #its being ignored? idk... #im aware this sounds whiny #i wont try to excuse it #if any of my art moots see this tell me if youve had similar experiences #since i feel bad ill try to post the sketches ive been doing since school started #my style has changed a bit so maybe some of you would be interested in seeing how ive improved? lolol #im done talking now. have a good one

#digital art #artists on tumblr #illustrators on tumblr #original character #original illustration #sasha's art #this one took much longer than i expected it to because well. thats how things go sometimes #there was a time in my life when i was going through years of abuse and felt like i had no way out of that #this led me to become uncaring and reckless and i was very impulsive at the time #there was this big old abandoned hospital in my home town that was not that far from my parents house #by this point in life i felt like i had lost all relationships with people previously close to me and i was not making any new ones out of- #-fear but also because i was isolationg myself (unknowingly) #because i was a child i percieved exploring this building as doing something Unsafe and Dangerous (and i guess it was in the sense that- #-things could fall on me if i wasn't careful) #but anyway i decided going there was going to be my Safe Place #as abandon buildings seem to be so seductive to teenagers it turned out this place was already a popular hang out spot for many teens #so i decided my best course of action would be to sneak out of my room at night/ dawn and go do art at this place when it was safe from- #-other teens lmao #it made me feel Edgy and Cool and Dangerous (even though looking back this was one of the safest activities i was engaging in lmao) #anyways #i replaced all my close human relationships with an abandoned house at the time (maybe theres a metaphor in there somewhere but. i do not- #(-want to see it) #at the time the thing i wanted the most in the world was to die and this was the place it was supposed to happen #luckily i made a deal with myself for ten more years and this ended up saving my life #so i have many mixed emotions about this place. it was there for me when i was at my lowest and loneliest. it was supposed to be my last #a few years ago i took my two best friends there (hadn't told them this story then yet) and i had a wonderful day and felt Loved #it was a weird feeling to feel there #i decided not to take them into the house and i don't think i will ever go in again #but i am glad i had it back when i needed it i guess #i wonder if theres still any of my old art supplies hidden about somewhere

A few little sketches of some possible school uniforms for mage schools/learning centers for magic/etc. :0c Though because Nanyevimi is so scattered and disconnected, it'd actually vary much more by region (like not everywhere would have a cultural concept of what a suit jacket or neck tie looks like lol), so it's probably unrealistic for so many of them to follow too many traditional Uniform Conventions from cultures in our world, etc. But, still, fun to mess around with designs, and think about which would be most fun to wear/what school you'd go to just based off the clothing lol~

I Should Dress That Way #I used to go to thrift stores and find multiple seperate pieces that could be combined together to look like a school uniform #I had like 4 or 5 different 'uniforms' that I made myself in that way. My first outfit that I was ever allowed #to pick out for myself as my big First Day Of Middle School outfit was literally like school uniform inspired #(maybe mixed with a little goth.. like it was a school uniform sort of look but black and white with fishnet armwarmers lol.. plaid + #stripes pattern mixing my beloved... ) #I think it's just the same way that I love apartment buildings because I'm infinitely fascinated with like.. observing human nature and peo #le displaying their psersonalities in little ways and how you can give 10 people the same exact identical space but each one will decorate #it completely differently just depending on their own tastes and reasonnig and etc. I love the idea of everyone in some setting #having to be in one specific set outfit BUT you can tell something about them by the little ways they customize it or what type #of accessories they wear or if they choose to button their shirt fully or not or etc. etc. I like the constraints of 'okay everyone has to #be in exactly the same uniform - NOW. give them their own unique style somehow despite this' etc. etc. like #yaaaayyyy.. #im going thru old flipnotes i used to watch years ago and ouggghhg so many good ones #is twenty one pilots still popular.... do people still remember the TRNDSTTER and marble soda meme......... #its like im unlocking some sort of primal part of my brain and everything is coming back to me. one of my biggest inspirations as a kid #i still remember thinking the final transmission lyrics were the coolest thing and watching =TopHat= Bee and Melissa over and over #theres a very specific feeling of longing and nostalgia looking back and watching these again years later #especially when there isnt anything genshin or mcyt and instead its either fnaf undertale eddsworld or another obscure #interest... and not even fnaf sister location its like fnaf 3 and 2. its THAT old. and a lot of oc MVs especially pokemon ocs and furries.. #god but they were so creative u know. i still find it amazing ppl took this little lightbox animation on the fucking NINTENDO DS and #cranked it all the way to 11.. like if u look at the transitions and movement its so fucking fluid its insane..!! HOW DO YOU MAKE THE #CHARACTERS SPIN??? AND CHANGING CAMERA ANGLES??? and keep in mind youre doing this all with a shitty stylus #on a THREE BY TWO INCH SCREEN. you only get two layers you can go up to 29FPS and you only have 999 slides to work with #and 24FPS eats up a lot of that. absolutely insane it literally boggles my mind every time i think about it. How do you feel about Lookism? I have been currently reading it and it is good so far! It is ending soon though.

I used to be a huge Lookism fan a few years ago! My brothers had to convince me to read it because I couldn't get past the unpleasant early art style the first few times. But once I started, I couldn't stop. Daniel was such an interesting protagonist, the cast was funny, the plot was intriguing, and everything was so heartfelt. I even cried a few times.

However, I decided to quit reading after the Hostel arc. My favorite part of Lookism were the character centric stories, like Jay donating things because it'd make Daniel happy, Zack and Mirae taking care of the lost baby, and Zoey growing out of her materialism and getting to like Little Daniel for who he was. I even enjoyed Goo coming from the woodwork to fight for younger Vasco! I really liked Gun and Goo.

The Hostel arc with Eli, Oli, and the fam was emotional as well, but I had to bow out because Oli's death took a toll on the lightheartedness of the story and it became clear to me PTJ was taking the webtoon in a gang-oriented direction I simply wasn't interested in.

I just wanted to see Daniel overcome his bullies, make new friends, and figure out where the second body came from. I still occasionally check to see if any of my interests have been resolved, but I usually get upset seeing all the insane, and frankly, inhuman fights between the alleged teenagers in that series. Sometimes I don't mind genre swaps midseries, but yeah, someone hit me up when DG or the chairman finally tell us where the second body came from.

#like it's a fun movie! #the production design is amazing #i'm all here to gush about the filmmaking and art dept on that film #but I feel like it's getting hyped way beyond what it is #a fun movie that manages to say something and be entertaining despite being another big studio film only made bc it's based on popular IP #like Greta did make something entertaining and worth watching #she did manage to say something and give it personality when so many IP movies are soulless and meaningless #but it's not the big evil manipulative marketing people complain it is #becuase literally.....everything greenlit by studios nowadays is tied to some kind of IP or brand or intended to sell you something #i didn't see these complaints over the lego movies #it's not to blame for launching a big pointless ip franchise bc even if barbie had bombed you KNOW the other mattel movies would have #probably happened bc IP matters way more than what audiences are actually interested in #but it's also not like a revolutionary feminist masterpiece?? #it says something yeah but it's not really groundbreaking and it's pretty simple #and it's certainly not like....revolutionary enough for all the negative backlash though we all know something doesn't HAVE #to be truly revolutionary or progressive for that kind of crowd to get all up in arms over the Woke Agenda #it's just like #it is what it is #a movie that would have happened whether competent storytellers and filmmakers got on board or not and at least they made something #worth watching which I can't say of a LOT of IP greenlight decisions #it's jsut like #I enjoyed the movie and it was well made and I'm glad it's doing well but every time I see a new argument about it or take #I just want to be like #it's not that deep lol #that doesn't include just analysis and discussion of the movie #that's different #i mean more discussion like it's bad this movie did well bc it's just an overhyped commercial!!! #anyways got that off my chest lol #i still would have killed to work on set dec for that film
