hi, i completely agree that the fandom has a problem with misogyny and often fails at self-introspection. my question is, do you have any resources/tips/thoughts on how to be better about it? even, how to recognize it in yourself the first place? "ok i'll stop being a misogynist now" is a lot easier said than done, especially for people who might not be that educated on the subject, and majority of the people in this fandom are quite young as well.
this is long as fuck and possibly somewhat incoherent bc it took so long to write but i did my best
my biggest tip for people who don't know much about misogyny is to look at your own behavior and learn how to clock what you're doing as sexist.
are you criticizing a female creator? think about why you're doing it, what the actual beef you have with them is. if it seems to be just a sense of discomfort or thinking they're annoying or overly loud or pushy, think about male ccs who act the same way and why you dont consider them annoying. are you annoyed with them for being on a male cc's stream? why? does it feel like theyre taking up too much attention? do you get annoyed with them for talking too much or flirting with guys? for gaming especially-- do you get annoyed with them for not knowing something or being "bad" at a game? think about why that is and why its just funny when a male cc is bad at games or doesnt know something.
a HUGE problem i see in this fandom is the Madonna-whore complex, repackaged as the little sister-racist dichotomy (kudos to @yourlittlemenace for that phrasing).
if a female cc is deemed to be "playing nice" (doesnt talk too much, is "nice", streams with male ccs but doesnt flirt with them, isn't "overtly sexual"), she's the little sister of the group. all the male ccs "protect" her, she literally folds their laundry, she doesnt call out how people treat her, and the fandom pretends that this is a normal and cool way to treat women who are public figures. this also goes for mom/big sister/etc. if you think you haven't done this, think about all the aus where you've forced puffy into some kind of maternal or sisterly role when it made no sense. then think about how pissed people got when she decided not to be the server therapist and was "mean" to Tommy (in lore, with permission. that she didnt even need to get. see that clip i rbed earlier from her podcast.)
if the fandom decides she doesnt play nice, if she flirts with male ccs too much or stands up for herself or points out how unfair it is that she's being treated this way, she gets demeaned, harassed, and shunned by the fandom. consider, again, puffy. consider how niki flirted with wilbur and talked about misogyny and got called a racist for *checks notes* "speaking to schlatt and fundy" and "not being a native english speaker". she got called a slut and a queerbaiter for kissing another woman despite being bisexual.
consider how hard people went down on hannah for having said the r slur several years back versus how hard they went on dream for the same thing. and how people dug it up as a direct response to her being on stream with dream. consider how every time hannah talks about how unfair it is that the mcc subreddit treats her like trash, she has to delete all her tweets bc they harass her to hell and back and act like she's an asshole for pointing out their hypocrisy.
the fandom doesnt do this across the board; i shouldnt have to say this, but its not an everyone versus no one issue. some people do this outright and loud, some dont seem to realize theyre doing it, and a few people dont do it at all (incredibly rare, i can count on one hand the number of people who genuinely seem to try to avoid these issues, which is why im complaining).
in terms of lore, have you ever once done analysis on a female character? why do you think you haven't? the bechdel-wallace test is an (imperfect) way of gauging how a piece of media ignores women and prioritizes men. think about the fact that there are FOUR female ccs on the DSMP and they are continually ignored in favor of male characters. consider that puffy and aimsey both talked about trying to do genuine lore and getting shafted, either because no one was online and wouldn't put in the effort to stream with them or because they received insane amounts of criticism for breaking anything on the server, despite the clear lack of "no griefing" rules and the precedent that you can blow other people's shit up (tommy leveling one of puffy's builds, amongst many other examples).
a quick thing about ships: have you ever wondered why m/m ships are so popular? the general consensus amongst people who care about feminism and are into fandom studies is that for a long period of time, m/m was hugely popular because women are so rarely written as full and complete characters in any media. so people took to engaging with m/m ships and writing about them because they were the most fulfilling relationships, and because misogyny led them to be predisposed to be uninterested in female characters.
say an m/m ship is incredibly popular, something like, i dunno, john watson and sherlock holmes from bbc sherlock. lets also say the canonical media presents one or both of the characters with a female love interest. how do you think a fandom that prioritizes m/m ships and is primed to be disinterested in women as characters (either because of our society's role in teaching people that women do not matter or because of fandom's history in assuming female characters are not fleshed out) is going to react? if you said theyre going to send undue amounts of criticism her way and act like its an act of homophobia to give a canonically straight character a female love interest, congrats, you've figured out a huge component in fandom misogyny. take this, amplify it over several decades, and add the psychic damage that supernatural gave society. queerbaiting is bad but mistreating female characters in service of nonexistent queer relationships is also bad.
this is relevant in general but i also believe its relevant for the dsmp because of the complete lack of m/f ships. aside from phil and kristin, who are literally married irl and kristin isn't even on the server, there are no m/f ships that involve female creators. this is not, despite what you may think, due to the inherently yaoi nature of minecraft roleplay. this is because the creators, including the male ones, are afraid of the blowback of m/f flirting and how fucking awful people are to female ccs anytime it happens. once again look at niki. as another example, consider how notfounders harassed the living daylights out of mxmtoon for flirting with gnf on twitter. if i was a cc i would avoid it like the plague too considering how happy people are to dig shit up about them or accuse them of being a slut or an attention whore/"pick me girl" for speaking to a man.
one last thing, this is more about fanart than anything else but stop drawing women to look like teenage boys. the amount of fanart i see where i literally cannot tell if someone has drawn niki or tommy is fucking insane. niki has curves. draw her with them. if you cannot draw women or people outside a very specific body type you cannot draw. fatphobia and misogyny have a clear overlap.
i cant think of anything else and ive already spent forever on this. look into feminist media analysis. think twice about how you react to female ccs & female characters. consider not just what characters have interesting stories but who is allowed to have interesting stories. you might be neglecting someone who has a lot going on because you're dismissing a female character as inherently less likely to be interesting. you might not even know someone has an interesting story because the fandom neglects it so completely.
as a final little note: like i said earlier, if you're not familiar with gender & sexuality studies, you may not know this, but homophobia and transphobia are rooted in misogyny. the idea that gender is immutable and rigid is because of the patriarchy. this is why gendered slurs are used against queer people and why queer men in particular get accused of and demeaned for being feminine. your understanding of queerphobia is incomplete without considering how sexism plays a role.
also go read everything rayne fisher-quann has ever written but especially this piece on getting woman'd and listen to you're wrong about

people are like the BG3 companions are sooo diverse it's HUGE for video games when there's literally only two LGBTQ+ identities represented like just say irl you think everyone is ~a little bit bi~ and be done games have been doing better representation for literally fifteen years
im someone who finds the concept of 'representation' to be a fundamentally flawed way to engage with media critique and i think the fact that it is the primary lens used to engage with characters sexuality in media has caused a lot of people to sort of miss the forest for the trees in these kinds of discussions.
imo saying 'these characters aren't playersexual theyre all just bi and you're a biphobe for saying otherwise' is pretty much the same level of engaging with a text that 'this female character needs to wear a skimpy outfit because her super power is stronger when her skin is exposed' is. you're saying something that is technically true within the fiction you're being presented but really overlooking an absolutely titanic amount of cultural forces that have come together to influence the result you're seeing, and prioritizing the imagined agency of fictional characters over critiquing the intent of the writers
don't get me wrong i'm not saying that people shouldnt enjoy the fact that these characters are functionally, mechanically bisexual in the game. i dont want to take that away from anyone who gets something out of that. but i do think it's kind of strange how infrequently people discuss the fact that Bisexual becomes just the default character sexuality of romanceable play characters so gamers don't get mad that they can't fuck the 3d model they want to. in function, what you get a lot of the time isn't people going out of their way to meaningfully write a bisexual character but rather people abstaining from writing characters with any true sexual/romantic preference in order to please the larger portion of their consumer base.
i don't think it's really fair to claim that these people must automatically assume everyone in real life is a little bit bi because assuming peoples opinions on sexuality apply to real people the way they apply to fictional characters is bad in either direction. but i do think it's a little bit strange that you can see something where characters are made bisexual for the express purpose of being romantically/sexually available to any type of character you could throw at them in order to maximize the appeal of a commercial product and not even stop to consider whether or not that's a dynamic that's worth critiquing a little. considering how much of the way biphobia manifesting in real life is bi people needing to remind everyone that being bi does not, in fact, automatically make you romantically and sexually available to any conceivable type of person on earth.
anyway i don't think Playersexual characters are necessarily a bad or harmful thing but they're certainly something i don't like. and i certainly think that trying to act like any criticism of it is secret biphobia is pretty ridiculous.

anyway really long list of sbg headcanon time
i have alot so im just gonna dump them all here
oh jeez where to start
-asexual taylor and ben
-unlabeled ashlyn
-bisexual aiden and gay logan
-tyler has intense internalized homophobia but is probably gay
-tyler and ashlyn probably have really similar music taste
-tyler got into indie and rock music in his middleschool years (and probably had a very minor emo phase)
-taylor has really mixed music taste but through tyler she knows a weird amount of lyrics to random songs he listens to all the time i think thats funny
-if you shuffled aidens playlist its the most mixed thing ever you cannot name a genre for it
-aiden also probably listens to his music at full volume casually
-logan listens to things like cavetown no i dont take criticism
-taylor is a morning bird and tyler has the worst sleep schedule known to man she is constantly dragging him out of bed
-(i have so many thoughts about the twins)
-tyler is probably often favored over taylor, and she tries not to let it get to her because she loves her brother but damm!! she isnt just “tylers twin!!” tyler knows about this and feels shitty
-ashlyn knows sign language because of often going nonverbal in youth and ben asked her to teach him
-logan really admires tyler but is too scared to say it
-taylor has lots of interest in music and singing but never went after it
-logan is far tougher than he looks hes just a kind soul
-taylor also played like the clarinet in 6th grade and loved it but quit
-ashlyn accidentally sits/steps on her braids all the time. every day
-ashs favorite holiday is thanksgiving for the food and she is the only one in the group with that sentiment. everyone else loves halloween
-aiden’s love language is gifts. he buys his friends stuff all the time and theyre like “WHAT why how MUCH WAS THIS” and hes just “:]”
-aiden also wears eyeliner. silly goose
-he tried teaching ben how to wear eyeliner and it didnt go well
-aiden has the loudest most disruptive sneeze ever
-ashlyn has a ton of inside jokes with her dad and they would always tell each other to shut up after sneezing (affectionately) and so she just instinctively tells aiden to shut up after aforementioned sneeze
-aiden and taylor were warrior cats kids and bonded over this
-ben and aiden go ice skating!! they have fun racing around on the ice
-ben has a competitive side
-aiden and taylor are also really good at volleyball. Idk man they’re Pals
-taylor braids her hair out of nervous habit she wants to braid ashlyns hair
-ashlyn misplaces her stuff all the time she gets it from her mom
-(this is simply because me and my sister did it when we were little) the twins used to make their own little dance routines to music and perform it for their parents and it was really silly and cute and theres a video somewhere of them doin a little dance together
that one was purely projection
@planetarymesss @rainbowangel110 yall wanted me to tag yall so smdnsnd
ANYWAY thats whats been on my mind recently- i could go on

speaking of which. he and Circumcannon still kiss/lhj
Circumcannon:
no ideas,,again😭😭😭
Hexadic:
same as all the others
Lycanthropy:
the only thing keeping he and Cubic from fistfighting each other every time they see each other is that they both know that 1) Dub WILL somehow find out and WILL get their asses and 2) Cubic is strong enough to actually kill Lycanthropy if they fight too hard. and Cubic doesnt wanna fling himself into boiling hot water (not literally ofc) + Lycanthropy doesnt wanna die to THIS bitch's hand
a lot of the other corrupted flowers see him as a "general"/"commander" due to Lythorus being leader of the (uncorrupted at least) flowers
should NOT be trusted with any kind of powertools ever
Circubit:
pretty close friends with Macabre
would absolutely dj in his spare time
world-wise hcs:
shape related:
spheres are the speediest out of all the shapes
cubes have a natural resistance to the cold
some flowers have the ability to live entirely underwater, its kinda like a "subtype" for them; theyre often referred to as "aquatic flowers"
flowers have fangs :3c chompers even!!!
spheres are the most likely out of any other shape "species" to be able to grow hair
flowers are naturally tall as shit!!!
flowers' spikes arent as "sharp" when theyre young- they "sharpen up" quite a bit as they get older, though
adding onto the last one, aquatic flowers' spikes are a little more on the duller side
other/unrelated to anything else:
some shapes dont have a "combat ability"
all of the group members of a certain area have meetups sometimes, and occasionally ALL of the groups meet up as a whole (pretty rare considering the size of Paradise, but it still happens at times!)
all the heroes have an odd obsession with going in and out of windows instead of doors. there could be an open door right next to a window and any one of them would still open the window and go right out of it

I dont know the pc way to ask this, but as a white( or at least not black idk) writer doesn't it intimidate you to write about characters that aren't your race? I feel like people are so critical and never want to read or watch things in good faith anymore that the only safe way to create is if it's portraying something you can say you are or have experienced, if that makes sense.
I know this deserves a more nuanced answer than I have time for right now. But the short version is this:
I would rather write diversity, fuck up, and learn from it, than not try at all.
Sure, some folks will be overly critical. But a lot of criticism is warranted, and being receptive to criticism is an important part of growth (in like, life, as well as writing). Besides that, only writing characters who look and talk and think and feel like me is A. boring, B. sucks for readers who don't look and talk and think and feel like me, and C. doesn't reflect the real world (or at least the one I live in). My partner is Chinese. My best friend is Black. My friend group is of various ethnicities and ages; they prescribe to different religions and have different sexual orientations and gender identities; some are disabled, some have mental illnesses, and some have drastically different life experiences than me, and my life is better for having that diversity in it. If I were to only write about characters with my personal experiences, that would be terribly limiting.
I'd rather read a book featuring a bisexual woman by a non-bisexual author than not have a book about a bisexual woman to read at all (provided, of course, that you can tell they at least tried to get things right). The same with representation of service dog handlers, or characters with anxiety or OCD, or people in interracial relationships or people who grew up in deeply religious environments and are still grappling with the emotional, physical, and existential fallout (these are hard to find, feel free to rec any). My point is, as a reader, I prefer trying to not trying. As a writer, I try to do the same.
I guess to be more specific, if I'm taking this ask in good faith, there are things you can do to not feel as intimidated. If I have a primary character that is Black or Indian or deaf or trans, I have beta readers for my fic who are and my publisher has sensitivity readers for my published books who are to make sure I'm not accidentally misrepresenting them. And if I do fuck up, I can learn from it and change it before it's available for larger audiences. Obviously, everyone's experiences are not universal, so not everyone will agree on what is/is not problematic, but it's a good first step.
I hope this helps.

Hey I saw requests were open. Are you still doing matchups? If so would I be able to request one for critical role?
I'm a 5'4 girl with very straight and thin brown hair. I'm a bit on the leaner side but with some muscle from farming and martial arts.
I'm quite socially anxious and a general worrywart. I often seem stilted and overly formal in conversation as I suck at small talk unless I'm more comfortable with those people. When I'm in a familiar environment or with people I'm comfortable with I'm much louder and tend to ramble. I do enjoy talking and making shitty jokes. I'm a bit of a mum friend, practical and grounded. I enjoy any sort of physical affection ranging from hugs, to play fights, high fives and even light head butting. I also like being able to cook or buy food for others. I enjoy both reading, writing and love nature and animals of all kinds.
I'm bisexual with not much of a preference for gender.
Thank you!
hi! im sorry its taken me so long to get to this but yes! im still doing matchups!
sorry to everyone requesting critical role, ive only been assigning for c1&2 and left out 3 because i haven't caught up with it so i dont know enough about the ne cast of characters to assign for them ^^;
you sound like someone i'd be friends with
right away i think caleb or jester from c2
or
vex from c1
caleb- he's not the type to complain much over physical affection in fact hes shown to like it, even from small pda to other stuff. he wouldnt initiate it much but would probably hold your hand for reassurance and catch on quick to your anxiety in social situations. hes not too social himself so he'd ask if its okay to pull you aside so you guys can relax together in a corner and either ramble to each other about your interests or cuddle up with a book with frumpkin in your lap to help you calm down. wouldnt say it directly but would enjoy your humour, would also tell you he likes how small you are cuz its easier to cuddle you better. might get distracted staring at you during a fight or when youre engaging in something youre passionate about
jester- short buddies! will use any and all excuse to tease you and lift you up. she would absolutely join you in the kitchen if you let her. expect a lot of kisses if shes patching you up after a fight or vice versa, she thinks your worrying is very sweet and adorable. your humor matches so she'll not just join you she'll egg you on and keep it going. probably will adopt any animal with you if you ask all the phys touch and pda, she will squeeze you in a hug and braid your hair.
vex'ahlia- nonstop teasing. teases you for your height, your nerves etc whatever she can. subtle touches are her thing so she'll probably have an arm on or around you if youre close enough. if you get seriously worried or anxious about something she'll take you aside by the hand and help you calm down, she can be very convincing. she'll probably have you sit down with her and put your head in her lap so she can play with your hair till you feel better, maybe even put her feathers behind your hair after braiding it so you match. will hold your face and tease you for being cute trinket is now your best friend and will nudge you for headpats you guys get to tease vax together and vax will go from being skeptical of you and giving you the brother talk to eventually seeing you as family even. hes kinda protective of his sister and very scared of loosing her again but once he knows he can trust you and gets used to you and vex being that close you guys are buds and even sparing partners. vex encourages your humor and bugs you while youre cooking.

I've been sick, and bored... wish I had a friend who was bi and a fallout fan so I could go over my criticism/critique of bi rep in FNV & FO4 and how they are BASICALLY two sides of the same coin!
(Pile of thoughts down below)
Both games are just as bad when it comes to bi rep (and some might argue against FNV being considered this, and while I'm willing to admit I COULD be missing some details because it can be easy to miss stuff in FNV, HOWEVER based on what I've seen so far that's considered "bi rep" for NV I... I'm having a hard time believing that to be the case) but mostly in different ways.
FNV comes off more as an invisibility issue paired with stereotypical hypersexual depictions of bi characters. Despite the fact that the player character can be bisexual it comes off more as a contrived afterthought due to it not only being a perk BUT in order to be bi you have to pick up two different perks & perks are not unlimited so if you canonically want your character to be bi you have to sacrifice two perk slots (or whatever you would call it) to do so (this is a bit of nitpick though). An argument can be made too that the game possibly pushes the age old stereotype of bi people just being "part gay part straight" with how the perk works, that instead of its own thing its a cumulation of two different things, a rather binary thinking placed onto bisexuality. Paired with the fact that no bi characters outside of POSSIBLY your player character really exist, I mean... technically there are a few characters you can SLEEP with regardless of gender but this reads more as a playersexual mechanic then bi rep and if we DO dare to consider it bi rep we HAVE to acknowledge that the rep only takes place when SEX is involved/offered aka the hypersexual bisexual stereotype (which is not a good thing). The only other character that could be read as possibly Bi who we DON'T sleep with to confirm this with could also just as easily be read as a bisexual stereotype (Rose Sharon Cassidy) who also basically says she isn't queer! Cass is very much a character who is/was meant for the male gaze and makes all the stuff with her character make more sense especially considering how she was possibly going to be a character the specially MALE courier could sleep with. This... THIS is all the bi rep within FNV... considering all the above, while FNV gets praise for its LG rep I wish I heard SOMETHING about its piss poor rep of bisexuals and how we BASICALLY are nothing and barely an afterthought.
Then we have FO4 that has a playersexual dating mechanic and while I PERSONALLY dont think playsexual mechanics in general are outright a negative/bad (there are also not inherently rep either) thing unlike some people I DO believe FO4 handled it VERY lazily and could have definitely done it so much better. Due to the nature of playsexual romance mechanics they usually make everyone the character can have a relationship with "bi but not really" because sexualities are never confirmed or even given in these mechanics so it's kind of pointless to claim it as rep regardless of how you play the game and some will say it also plays into the "everyone is bi" stereotype as well. Where in FNV we get almost the message of "no one is REALLY Bi, and if they are it's just because they are drunks, freaks, or whores," FO4 goes the extreme opposite way and we get "everyone is Bi... but also not really REALLY!" Characters with stated previous relationships with a specific gender can be romanced regardless of gender still (which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing/wrong, sorry not sorry) the problem lies in the fact that it was VERY lazily tacked onto these characters so they end up feeling very two dimensional, flat, and unrealistic. And the few explicit things that do point to a character being bisexual and not just FOR the player character are, you guessed it, sexual (it's the hypersexual bisexual rep again)! We got Hancock and him being flirted with by both men and women and wanting to "show him a tour of the town" again & we got some threesome comments from Cait... there is possibly more but this is all I can remember at the moment. I would say at least we get a character that doesn't run away from their stated attraction towards another gender (or isn't just confirmed by having sex with them AND only if you've played as two different genders because otherwise how would u know?) unlike in FNV it however does still suffer from issues. And, while some might claim Piper as rep I went back to listen again to the line with Magnolia and I have to say it's just a little too ambiguous to count, it seems more like embarrassment for making a comment that could be read as a sexual innuendo than her simply displaying same gender attraction.
So yeah, at the root of both games is biphobic rep despite these games being pretty different overall, being done by different studious and having pretty differing opinions in fandom but in the end BOTH engage biphobia AND specifically hypersexualization stereotypes... it's... kind of sad when you stop to think about it, we really can't have anything but especially within video games.
.
.
.
Also, forgot I wanted to add this up there somewhere but a point I wanted to make that I recently thought of was how if the perks themselves make a character a specific sexuality would it be off/wrong then to claim that a character that DOESN'T take these perks is asexual unless proven otherwise? If not then how come? My main reason for bringing this up is to specifically point out how flawed these perks are or rather how flawed it is to count them as rep for sexuality because of how simple and binary the thinking and implementation of them is. Could I be wrong? Sure and I'm willing to admit I might be and could be just biased, Ive never cared for these perks ever since I first saw them being claimed as rep and never really thought more on WHY exactly that was until recently and while FNV did do some good things and it would be wrong not to acknowledge that we also need to be willing to admit when it does wrong and we know it HAS (literally any of its Native/Indigenous rep).
It is hard for me as a Bi person to see rep in those perk cards, and I can't be the ONLY one, and honestly it's only really an issue BECAUSE we get no Bi rep outside it. If we did I wouldn't even bother with mentioning it here but it paired with the hypersexual rep it all adds up to paint a rather bleak picture of how FNV and the people who worked on its views of Bisexuals/non-monosexuals. I would even go as far to say it shows how a good chunk of fandom feels too considering how I've seen VERY little criticism around FNV when it comes to bi rep versus FO4. You would think FNV is the best queerest game out there and FO4 hates and wants to burn gays (& bi's) at the stake by how fandom talks about them when BOTH are flawed! Maybe I just haven't seen the right posts, maybe so, but regardless I wanted to take an honest wack at analyzing bi-ness and how we are represented in these two very different games and how both are big disappointments in this area.

Hey there! My name’s Em, and I'm a writer. Welcome to my page, or even just this post!
⋆┈┈。゚❃ུ۪ ❀ུ۪ ❁ུ۪ ❃ུ۪ ❀ུ۪ ゚。┈┈⋆
☆Facts about me!
Pronouns:I use she/they pronouns!
Ethnicity/Nationality: I’m white british, so most of my writing will have hints of british throughout it, using words specifically for brits, but i will try to adapt it for american settings when appropriate
Sexuality: I’m a bisexual aromantic, i finally found an umbrella term to label my romantic attraction after questioning for so long :D
I’m a writer, obviously, who leans towards writing angst a lot, its something I pride myself on being able to write.
This blog will contain both fan-fictions and pieces of writing I have made myself.
⋆┈┈。゚❃ུ۪ ❀ུ۪ ❁ུ۪ ❃ུ۪ ❀ུ۪ ゚。┈┈⋆
☆Fandoms I write for:
Harry Potter
Dream SMP
Marvel Cinematic Universe
High School Musical; The Musical; The Series
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
Sam and Colby (XPLR)
Scream (TV series)
⋆┈┈。゚❃ུ۪ ❀ུ۪ ❁ུ۪ ❃ུ۪ ❀ུ۪ ゚。┈┈⋆
☆Random facts:
I’ve been reading since a very young age, and it is often something people will see me do.
I enjoy acting and all aspects of theatre in my spare time (it is my aspiration to be an actress one day)
I really love musicals; Be More Chill, Beetlejuice and Six are very high on the list of my favourites!
I am in an on-going project with two of my closest irl friends in which we are rewriting the Harry Potter series to be more inclusive and welcoming and including a Marauder’s story into the mix! (update: its just me working on this project now, for personal reasons i ask that you dont pry for information.)
Writing in general is the top thing i take pride in, i’ve always enjoyed it, and making the words twist into a beautiful collage of emotions is the best feeling in the world for me.

𝕃𝕖𝕥𝕤 𝕥𝕒𝕝𝕜 𝕒𝕓𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝔹𝕠𝕦𝕟𝕕𝕒𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕤!
Growing up, I discovered how important it is to establish boundaries with people, so here i am.
My number one boundary is probably common sense; don't go looking for any personal information about me. I will share what i am willing to share directly.
Secondly, any negativity towards the people i write about in fan-fiction is discouraged heavily. I only write about people i personally like, and while i respect people having their own opinion, it is quite hurtful seeing someone dismiss characters i enjoy.
Next on the list for me, is criticism. I enjoy getting constructive criticism, which will help me improve my writing, but anything that is just blatantly rude such as "this is rubbish" is quite hurtful, so please respect this boundary!
Don't spread hate around my blog of me, or any of the fandoms i am in. Discovering these fandoms has helped me a lot with mental health issues, and again it is really hurtful towards me to see hate towards them. In situations such as real-life casts, like the Dream SMP fandom, i enjoy writing for them and watching their content, but I will hold them accountable when necessary and help them educate themselves if needed.
Messages are completely okay and appreciated, like i said earlier, i am british, so i will reply within my timezone hours of being awake, so please be patient if you dont recieve a reply instantly.
And last of all, with fandoms such as Harry Potter, i would like to personally say that I do not support JKR's transphobic views at all. Everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community is welcome, and accepted here.
love ya, you beautiful people :)

Yeah sis that's the whole point that is literally the point you got the ace. We need to be strongly worded and take a stand, you can be endlessly nice and all that will do is make you a foot stool. You know who you support but you're afraid to speak and stand with other lesbians because you're afraid of the bisexual hate mob, this is exactly why their little pity tantrums work. They corner us into being nice and being afraid of them. Say enough is enough. Everyone knows all these points when talking about other oppressors but if you apply simple principles to bisexuals everyone shits the bed in fear. It may be hard to accept and it might get you piled on but it's not complicated.
idk i genuinely do think its more nuanced than what both extremes often say and ig to most im already more aligned w the lesbian side of the extremes rather than the bi side of extremes (despite me being imo quite neutral but obviously more vocal about lesbophobia for my own selfish reasons, being a lesbian n all).
like do i think lesbians have privilege over bi ppl? absoluely not. do i think biphobia exists as a form of systemic oppression? absolutely not. do i think biphobia is a commonly held form of prejudice on an interpersonal level? yeah. do i think gay ppl have power over bi ppl? no. do i think bi people often have power & privilege over gay ppl? in many cases, yes. do i think gay ppl can be hateful to bi ppl? yeah. do i think its on the same level as what hets direct @ bi ppl? no. do i agree that biphobia as a term is often directed at gay ppl who are being hateful (or not even hateful necessarily!) to bi ppl? yeah. im sure that both sides will disagree strongly with several of my stated opinions there! but after hearing both sides a lot i just... dont find the arguments convincing enough to change those opinions.
but ultimately, regarding your specific statements, i also don't think bi people are our primary oppressors, i dont think they have the same power as hets to oppress us and i think often when they do, a price they pay is rejecting an aspect of themselves & their sexuality. not that that minimizes the harm they cause us when they do take advantage of their privilege over us. i also dont think bisexuals are like supremely powerful that we can openly shit on hets but cant talk about bi people. i just think the dynamic and the approach is different bc bi people are still a minority group and an oppressed group, so ppl are more sensitive to criticism there than they are with criticsm towards hets. bc with hets is rly more black & white and straight forward whereas w bi people its unclear. many bi people are closer aligned to gay ppl than hets for example, and many live a life that doesn't afford them the privileges that bi people who primarly/exclusively date the opposite sex gain. even the ones who are more closely aligned w hets pay a price that hets dont have to, which is shown in the higher rates of DV and mental illness, alongside issues like poverty. this is why im not particularly & personally keen on such extreme statements anyways, bc i do genuinely believe its more complex than that. at the same time i dont take kindly to the implication that gay people have it better than bi people, or that gay people have it the same level of bad as bi people, or many more statements from the other extreme. i will admit that yes im also very hesitant to partake in this convo because regardless i will be dogpiled and regardless i gain nothing out of it and regardless no one's opinion will change, the actual things i say will not actually be heard, and ultimately ill be left to defend myself alone. all for a convo im not particularly passionate about either. i just dont see the point in it. i appreciate you admitting that youre intentionally provocative and all, but.. im just not fond of the response im bound to get from both sides. either way my sexuality is weaponised against me or dismissed, im dogpiled, and nothing changes. its a lose-lose lol and over what? its mostly an argument of semantics and doesnt rly do anything for either group.

i hate the “we cant censor art” debate bc its always framed in as vague ways as possible in online spheres when in reality in most applications no censoring is underway and is instead deplatforming. and im not here to say if you’ve ever been told your work is inappropriate or offensive the other person was right but this is almost always a stupid ship debate abt something gross like minors/adults or incest. and let me frame it to you like this.
i dont think no subject matter should ever be banned from being talked about. but more sensitive subject matter will have to be approached with caution. because child abuse and incestous abuse are not hypotheticals or thinks the average person will have no way of encountering, they are shockingly common forms of abuse millions of people experience. but people are incapable of pulling their heads out of their asses when we just talk about that, so instead, lets make a hypothetical.
someone wants to write a story about gay people. it is a story RIDDLED with harmful ideas and stereotypes that ultimately will lead to people taking some of those ideas away. sure, the story isn’t TELLING you to hate gay people, it isn’t calling to exterminate gay people, but it is a pretty offensive depiction of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and pansexual people that portrays all same sex attraction as uncontrollable, animalistic, dangerous, sinful, taboo, and borderline predatory. regardless of intention, you cant help but question some of the harmful ideas about lgbp people the author has, and you know SOMEONE is going to take some of those ideas with them. thats the matter of fiction. you decide to point out these harmful facts, and and the fans and authors decry that your a censoring lunatic who cant separate real lgbp people from fictional ones and are trying to censor ART when the author has SAID they dont condone hurting real gay people!!!
or a story of disability, where in a fantastical utopia everyone’s disability is cured and the ones who cant be cured are humanely “put down” and the human race instead evolves to be super powered and amazing. disability rights activists say this is a harmful portrayal of disability and sees it as something to be “fixed” and is flat out just eugenics. fans decry that its not REAL and the author would NEVER advocate for putting down REAL disabled people!!! look, SOME disabled people say they wished their disabilities could be cured just like this, therefore nothing can be criticized about the story and you are trying to say no one is allowed to write about disability ever and you are CENSORING ART.
my point here isnt to say authors and artists deserve death threats or anything either (because i know some people will level that at me) but that if you want your content to be treated as “art” then it will be critiqued. as art. if you want to write about sensitive, real life subject matter that will be critiqued. you cant write a disgusting story of a lesbian being “tricked” into becoming straight without getting your ass roasted for it, then you cant romanticize abuse either. because what you write and draw matters. and i know for a fact most of the people who advocate for weird ship fics actually do roast and critique homophobic, transphobic, ableist, and racist fiction when they see it. because it spreads harmful ideaology even without being a direct call to action. even without authors specifically saying they condone the actions of it. if you write romanticized depictions of abuse for the sake of titillation you should come to the realization that you’re not writing anything more than some offensive shlop and you need to take a look in the mirror and think about how you would approach someone writing offensive fiction about any other sensitive subject matter and then what that means for you.
because for most harmful/offensive content it means deplatforming. it means websites might not wanna host it. it means people will critique it and sometimes have a lot to say about it (besides harassment). and if you think absolutely 0 content should be deplatformed or criticized no matter what uhhhh well,

MERCURY YOU CRAZY GIRL!
to be completely fucking honest. im terrified. im terrified of the fact ive pushed this away for so long when it feels like everyone has known it before i did. its not fair. its not fair that everyone should know me better than me. its embarrassing, and frustrating. but she's so lovely and kind and cares about me. and would never talk badly on me, and would never shame me or make me feel bad about myself. like GENUINELY, genuinely, always wants the best for me. which is crazy. crazy because its so rare, when i have tried to emulate that energy for so many before.
interestingly though. i always say how i try to be this safe person, this loving kind caring yada yada - but really, am i though? i try to be, for sure. i try my very best. but im never quite there. my own insecurity gets the better of me and i turn into the harsh critic and judge that i can be to my own self. but she would never, is never, and it inspires me. ive already changed so much for the better in the time since we met and became close and began our adventures together. that's what it is - an adventure. is that not everything ive been asking for and manifesting?
she's literally my soulmate that ive been dreaming of and asking for and manifesting and describing in detail for the past, what, year? maybe just less. anyway. i was so overwhelmed and scared. which is fair enough! she sprung it on me out of fucking nowhere. like genuinely felt like it came from left field. which makes it more fun and exciting for me. like not only am i worthy of that, but she really waited to make certain we were both ready for that. is it because i wanted to go back to my ex, and that stupid fucking taurus boy? she saw i was ready to open my heart again. though clearly for the wrong people.
but i should be wary... its mercury retrograde. also what if it doesnt work? what if im not ready ? its been so long ive been in my comfort zone. i dont want to stay there anymore. its boring and stagnant and stale and im sick of it. i want to grow. growth means discomfort. growth means taking a leap of faith. i quit my job, i did the crazy things i told myself i couldnt for years and years, im just living. im doing things for the sake of doing them because i can and its my right. and now... this is just the next thing god has planned for me. my twin flame in the form of a beautiful warm completely magnetic taurus woman who sees and brings out the absolute best in me. thats actually crazy.
i am still wary though. i have to do this carefully. because neither of us want to ever lose each other, of course, and shes my best friend. the whole dynamic of everything is about to change so we have to be slow, and tentative, and ever so careful. i dont want to hurt her. i dont wanna be the person who hurts her again... shes been through enough.
its funny... its funny to look back and realise every single one of my closest female friendships was like this. all the ones that ended messy - could it have been uncommunicated, unrealised feelings for eachother? one sided feelings for each other? or just chaos on both ends. or all of it. i do think i failed to realise how much my bisexuality and confusion in my feelings for my friends had impacted the dynamic and how i ended the friendship (or how they ended it and it hurt me). also - SO MANY TAURUSES?!
why is it always a taurus. ? apparently this is gods reminder that i need to slow down, enjoy life and take extra moments for the simple pleasures in life. like this! writing, my one true love. it would be so nice if God could grant me a burst of inspiration, because i miss writing. i miss getting into the flow state of creating. of building a world that i get to come back to whenever i feel like it, for an escape or for a reminder of how big, beautiful and wonderful my brain really is.
anyways, that was all. ill check back in a couple of weeks when the next massive change happens and my world is flipped upside down again. also crazy - i think i lost my malachite. served your purpose, have you?

why mcyttwt does not think some (if not most) of the time when it comes to mcc
if i post this in twitter, i’d surely get hated upon but someones gotta have to say this one day. also this does not target to mcytblr!!! this rant is more of towards mcyttwt!!!
remember how mcyt was so chill before all of this shit? how we would watch our favorite minecraters when the community was so small? or how mcc was an event that both ccs and fans can have some fun and entertainment once per month? and that was only last year too. now look at the new generation of mcyt fans and see why some of the old fans dont really associate the new ones.
as a fan of the old gen mcytbers like DanTDM, SkyDoesMinecraft, Aphmau and CaptainSparklez. heck im a fan of pewds’ minecraft series before dream or tommy or ranboo or the new gen of mcyt ccs blew up (a year before them if im correct), and we dont see drama or bad shit all the time when it comes to their content.
now compare that to the new gen where every single fucking day, a bored fan or anti would post shit drama in twitter where some of the people from twitter moved to tumblr just to not get a headache from the batshit craziness mcyttwt brought forth. and it just snapped more when the mccp21 rolled in.
heres some of my takes about the mccp21 issue:
1) “there’s a lack of representation of lgbtq+ in the teams!!!”
heres something to tell yall about that. scott doesnt have a fucking choice. scott smajor has told time and time again, WEEKS before the announcement of teams, that there are certain requirements and limitations to mccp21 thus there will be difficulty in choosing whos entering or whos not. limitations and requirements such as it will be streamed on youtube or how streamers with twitch contracts aren’t allowed to stream or (god bless scott’s good heart) scott not allowing some of the lgbtq+ streamers in joining the special event due to wanting them to have a chance to stream and experience their first mcc (so to those who said that ranboo should have been in mccp21, shut up ‘cuz scott wanted genderman to have fun streaming his first mcc but cant due to ranboo being a well-known twitch streamer). to those who complained that ant and velvet should be in the mcc, stop being selfish and do some actual research on why scott didn’t include them. a simple question to those two’s fans would answer that they can’t make it due to them camping for a week which within those days is the mccp21. they’re having time to themselves, not wasting it on a minecraft championship.
take in the consideration that, oh i dont know, not a lot of lgbtq+ ccs applied to the event? its not a free invite championship (in fact, mcc has always been like that), it’s an applied with the sufficient and correct requirements kind of event. the artist who created the icons from the previous mcc for the teams said that scott let in some of the new ccs in last minutes due to lack of applicants not meeting the requirements thus not having custom artworks for the teams if they want to announce the teams in time.
2.) “there’s no lesbians or trans in the teams >:(((”
sadly enough, there’s not much of the players from the lgbtq+ community but to say there’s no trans people in mccp21 is utterly false. by definition, trans mean  denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex. other genders such as non-binary, genderfluid, androgyne, bigender, gender expansive all fall under trans. you define yourself with the gender you personally chose and comfy with from you birth gender. so saying there’s no trans in the teams when there are players from the event like eret or sqaishey who are nb and genderfluid respectively are there to also represent not only the sexuality but also the gender identity of others??? like c’mon, please make sense mcyttwt.
also, while its sad to not see lesbians, please know that lgbtq+ doesn’t strictly be defined by lesbians. ffs, lgbtq+ literally means Lesbians Gays Bisexuals Transgenders and Questioning (or Queer but im not too sure about that one) which means that there are still other representatives for the community in the event.
3) “technoblade is in the event?!!! WHAT THE FUCK, HES A HOMOPHOBE/LESBIPHOBE-”
utter clowns, toxic twitter users are. do you really think that scott smajor, an openly gay man, would let a supposed “homophobe/lesbiphobe” in an event that focuses in supporting the lgbtq+ community? do you hear yourself? do you even do research where the joke he made was when he was the same age as me and it was based on a historical article back in WW2? or how he passionately supports the community especially the lesbians because a lesbian couple complimented him to which kickstart his confidence? the man willingly went to this mcc event despite being flamed a lot in twitter because he (and everyone) knows that his chat, his fans and supporters, are literal millionaires. if you saw a stream from foolish where he auctioned canonical characters for funs, a techno fan donated thousand of dollars to get technoblade, and that’s only one fan, now imagine a hundreds of thousands of them.
like it or not, technoblade has always been open about his support to the community, especially that majority of his fanbase are from the same community that mcyttwt allegedly swore that technoblade hates.
4) “since this mccp21 is pointless because theres no dteam, quackity, punz or (insert cc name), let’s have a watch party of the previous mccs to spite mccp21!!!” “let’s hope (insert cc name) stream on the 26th so mccp21 doesnt have the same amount of viewership like before!!!” “where are (insert cc name)??? gosh, this mcc is so boring without them!!!”
shut up shut up shut up shut up shut the actual fuck up. are you really seriously hearing yourself? are you willing and proudly boycotting a once in a year special event that is seriously needed by the lgbtq+ community? are you that cruel and selfish to sacrifice a project that helped tons of people just for your sick entertainment and desires? are you that evil to stop others from enjoying and donating to the trevor project? are you that inconsiderate of other ccs that aren’t part of dsmp and calling them boring? and for what? because your favorite cishet streamer isn’t there? oh booofuckinghoo! you’re so fucking petty to even post about this kind of tweets in public.
(edit: did yall honestly thought that without your favorite streamers that the mcc is not worth watching because they aren't there? well let me tell you, im a ranboo fan. ive watched him when he first entered the dsmp and watched him spinning in his unicorn chair for 5 minutes. the boo community waited for so many months for genderman to join mcc yet we didn't even do that kind of disgusting action and behavior every time he isn't in mcc. 8 months. that's how long ive watched him. ive waited 8 months for him to be in the event yet i still watch other povs like tommy's, puffy's, wilbur's, and etc., because it's fun and entertaining to watch them despite the beloved not participating in the games.
if you're that spoiled to not even watch mcc because (insert cc whose not part of mccp21 name here) isn't part of the roster then you most likely have a one dimensional humor because there will always be someone more funny and entertaining than them. i like dsmp don't get me wrong, but i found parrot's school smp funnier than dsmp yet you don't see me insulting both series, do you? learn to keep yourself if you're calling ccs as boring or dull or not entertaining enough due to not having the same big platform as the dsmp members.)
you don’t deserve to call yourself a fan if you’re doing this kinds of actions. in fact, people like you should be kicked out from the mcyt community because your kind of people are the reason why we look so bad from the outside. your toxic and self-entitled to these content creators are the reason why famous ccs like sbi, purpled, tubbo and almost ranboo left twitter/implied strict rules to their subtwts. you drove out an entire friend group that tons of fans found comfort in from the platform and you still have the audacity to this kind of shit? honestly, just leave before you give me a headache.
what im sayin’ is that mcyttwt is one of the worst, if not THE worst, subtwts out of the other subtwts in twitter. having no actual research or evidences or spreading false information is common in twitter where you would have to take what they said with a micro size grain of salt. mcyttwt already ruined the fun and spirit of mcc during its comeback in mcc14 due to the glitch and beta testing shit (ey i still stand for the ranboo beta testing but i know that will be worthless since theres hints of him joining soon in mcc15). if you’re still in mcyttwt, i suggest to get out of there while you still can. we’ll never know if there’s a bigger shitstorm than this in the mcyttwt that may happen in the future.
edit! hi bella again, ive been told by a polite and cool user that not all people from mcyttwt are toxic and/or cruel. im going to clear something up here. ive written this during the heat of the announcement of mccp21 teams. so there's a lot of complains and/or entitled people in the app (you can even see it in my previous post too if you want evidences!) that gave off mostly negative vibes towards the event.
ive seen the cool ones who actually took the consideration for scott's side and the criticism of the lack of representation of other communities within the lgbtq+ umbrella (ive even share some parts of it above so im also a bit upset to the lack of numbers in the community). and some of them are correct about recruiting lgbtq+ creators in youtube but! like i said, it's an applied event and not invitational one, so its up to that content creator if they want to join or not. the amount of cishet in the roster are just those who want to support the cause and/or backups/stand-ins in case scott and noxcrew can't find enough ccs in time!
just wanna clear this up because mcyttwt these days are covered by really cringe fans (ive noticed a pattern of them mostly new ones but there are still awesome new fans (like my irl friend who just joined this year) within the community) that covered the good ones where they enjoy, have fun and share some neat ideas and thoughts to the community within the platform!
when i said to get out of the mcyttwt while you still can, i meant to get out of there to avoid drama (that is really small contrast those who really need to address the issue) and take a break from it. it's still your choice if you want to be surround by it or not or if you want to come back to the app. all im saying is to buckle up for the shitstorm cuz this is not the last time that the twitter side of mcyt will cause negativity to the community.

book rating #2: red, white & royal blue (casey mcquiston)
author's summary:
First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz is the closest thing to a prince this side of the Atlantic. With his intrepid sister and the Veep’s genius granddaughter, they’re the White House Trio, a beautiful millennial marketing strategy for his mother, President Ellen Claremont. International socialite duties do have downsides—namely, when photos of a confrontation with his longtime nemesis Prince Henry at a royal wedding leak to the tabloids and threaten American/British relations. The plan for damage control: staging a fake friendship between the First Son and the Prince. As President Claremont kicks off her reelection bid, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret relationship with Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations. What is worth the sacrifice? How do you do all the good you can do? And, most importantly, how will history remember you?
genre: romance fiction, lgbt literature
rated: r
racial diversity:
the main character, alex, and his sister june, are half mexican, and it is woven throughout the story in a very natural and believeable way that doesn't make it feel like it was added simply for diversity's sake. mcquiston is a white person (they/them pronouns) but the way that they wrote about alex and his family, especially with the entire family being in politics, is very believable, and in my personal opinion, very well done.
zhara, the deputy chief of staff for alex's mother, president claremont, is black, and her fiancé shaan srivastava (prince henry's equerry) is hindi. they are side characters so their backstories aren't delved into, but there aren't scenes where is feels like mcquiston was just trying to profit off of having diverse characcters and it felt more like she was just having her books reflect th natural diversity of the world, which i appreciate.
prince henry's best friend percy 'pez' okonjo is nigerian, and like zhara and shaan, his backstory isn't elaborated on, but again like the other two, it didn't seem like she was trying to profit off of the diversity, just trying to be accurate to real life. the main reason it doesn't feel like mcquiston was trying to profit off of diversity was because unlike the abyss surrounds us, she didn't put in small, unnecessary things about their ethnicity, but never elaborate on them and only put them in to get 'diversity points'.
another poc character is rafael luna, who is essentially alex's mentor in the books. he is gay and latino, similar to alex himself, and he helps alex navigate how to be a non-white, non-heterosexual politician.
alex and june's bestfriend (and alex's ex-girlfriend), nora holleran, is jewish, which is not elaborated on, but is a part of her character in a natural way.
overall i think that mcquiston did a stellar job of representing many diverse characters without it coming across as disrespectful, inaccurate, or only to check off the diversity box.
racial diversity rating: 10/10
lgbtq+ diversity:
this book is a gay romance, so obviously the lgbtq+ fiversity is up there. alex is bisexual, henry is gay, rafael luna is gay, nora is bisexual, and while there aren't any trans, ace/aro or poly etc, characters, i personally don't take many points off for that because mcquiston themself is a queer nonbinary person so i don't think it was meant as a slight to those communities.
edit!
two people mentioned that there actually was a trans character, a secret service agent that alex mentions during his sexuality crisis, so thanks to @r0ckwell and @releasing-my-insanity for letting me know!
also, the way they write about alex's bisexual crisis is not only so accurate and relateable, but also funny and sits with the book, as well as alex's character so well.

plot:
in my personal (and Totally Unbiased Opinion) the plot of this book is amazing, there is just the right amount of angst and sadness to make it somewhat realistic, but it's also very witty and fun at the same time.
the only criticism of the plot i can think of is that it isn't 100% realistic, because it has a happy ending and in some ways unrealistic to how america and britain really are. but im not going to take points off for that, because i dont think that detracts from the plot, it's just a personal preference, and honestly i enjoyed it because i have enough of the horrid reality of america every day so escaism is fun!
plot rating: 10/10
characters/character development:
I think the character developement in this book is really god, the growth both henry and alex show throughout the book is astronomical, especially on alex's end, and the characters themselves are mulifaceted and entertaining, while also being realistic.
character rating: 100/10
readability:
fairly easy read, as long as you know basica gay history you'll get all the references, and if you don't get them, just look them up.
readability: 10/10
my personal opinion:
this is probably my favorite book of all time, and definitely my favorite lgbtq+ book of all time, that said, i tried to be as objective as possible throughout this, and i think i did passably well. but i really just love everything about this book. it checks all the boces for me, and it's very comforting to read, because queer people go through enough normally that we shouldn't have to only be able to read books that reflect the struggles we already face everyday.
all in all, this is mostly a happy, bute, fun queer romance that i would recommend to everyone, queer or not.
overall rating: 10000/10
