so, I've read quite a bit of bagginshield fanfiction, because of course I have, and I've noticed that Bilbo is not as sassy in fic??

Like, is it just me or was Bilbo like, sarcastic and had an attitude in the moveis?? The best example I can I remember off the top of my head of this is when Bilbo tells Gandalf he saw Thorin and co. On Ravenhill and said he had to get to them, and Gandalf said he couldn't make it, and he said "uh, yeah I can." I loved it, honestly, but in fic writers tend to make him softer and shyer? This isn't a problem but I would love to see more sassy Bilbo!

i cannot even begin to explain how much AI is ruining fandom. chatting with Character AI seems cool at first but the way today's kids literally roleplay on their own??? makes me SICK. i wish they could have the same fandom experience we had. back in our day people would make group chats and everyone would pretend to be a character. they would make accounts dedicated to those personas, they would commit to that shit. they would post as that character and leave comments and reply to messages and asks. back then we had creativity and we celebrated being weird and cringe together and most importantly FANDOM WAS A COMMUNITY. it wasn't just a pastime or content to consume. it was about sharing your love for something with other people. meeting people that want to talk about the same things you do. making friends. the fact that today's teens sit in their room talking to a bot makes me feral. go online and find your people!! share your thoughts!! fandom is meant to be participated in!!!

Was trying to come up with ideas for the fic I’m writing featuring the Mini’s, and thought about how on earth the rest of the Miniatures manage to get around the museum like Jed and Octavius can. 🤔

Like, I get the two have their car and what-not, but what about the rest of them? They could take their own horses and chariots, but that would require having multiples of those, and I doubt their exhibits have enough for each of them.

Another idea I had is that they simply walk, but don’t initially get out of ‘The Hall Of Miniatures’ often due to the fact it is a big museum where anything could happen to them, and that Larry doesn’t like the idea of all of them being out at once (McPhee can notice even one Mini out of place, much to Larry’s dismay, which has gotten him in trouble on multiple occasions. Especially during his first night from when everyone was still fighting.).

So…this leaves me to an idea that I’m not certain anyone else has already came up with at this point, but I’ll just spill it out anyways.

The Westerns manage to build a train route going through the inner walls of the museum, thus allowing anyone aside from Jed and Octavius to roam about the museum as they please, so long as they return to their rightful place by sunrise. Not entirely sure yet on how they do this, I’m working on the details and hoping it will come out good when finished. When it comes to explaining things, I’m not exactly the best at it (it always seems to make more sense in my head compared to on paper. Or in this case, Google Docs. 😅)

Hope you all like it! I’m planning to make a little preview for the story I’m making and post it on here. I’ll post the entirety of the story on ‘Ao3’, but maybe I’ll post it here as well. We’ll just have to see.

Heroic Conundrum

I am just so fundamentally exhausted with fandom's constant refrain "We don't like perfect heroes! We don't like protagonists who embrace moral reasoning, compassion, and respect for others! Characters who never make mistakes are so boring!" and then turn around and exclaim their outrage loudly when heroic protagonists who embrace moral reasoning, compassion, and respect for others but make mistakes yet are not immediately dragged out into the street and executed. Suddenly the not-perfect heroes are 'getting away with it!' To them, it's just not authentic.

While at the same time, they trumpet their love for the individuals that the heroic protagonists make mistakes while trying to save. Like, these heroes are boring if they're perfect while saving their woobies, yet somehow are not supposed to make mistakes while saving their woobies.

And yes, I'm talking about Scott McCall and Allison Argent. Yes, I"m talking about Season 2, where they're supposed to stop Derek from getting his pack of children he tricked into fighting for him from being killed but not in any way that inconveniences Derek. Yes, I'm talking about the movie where Scott and Allison don't deserve a happy ending because death and pain isn't enough to purchase it for them.

Ever notice that Scott and Allison are just the worst for what they did to Derek and his pack in Season 2, but Stiles isn't, even though he supported and enabled Scott and Allison that whole season? There was even that little scene where Stiles stood with those two. Weird, ain't it? He's on their side! But no one complains about him getting away with it!
